Abstract
BACKGROUND Adequate health care in correctional facilities is often limited by staff shortage, which entails time-consuming consultations with physicians outside of these facilities. Video consultations (VC) have been implemented in many different health care settings and may also be useful in correctional facilities. As part of a pilot project, synchronous VC were implemented in five correctional facilities in Germany in June 2018. The aim of this study was to describe the implementation process from the providers' perspective and to identify factors promoting or inhibiting the implementation process of VC with a focus on interprofessional collaboration between nursing staff and telemedicine physicians. METHODS As part of the mixed-methods evaluation of the pilot project, site visits to the five correctional facilities were carried out. Nursing staff from the five correctional facilities (n=49) and telemedicine physicians (n=10) were asked to participate in interviews and a questionnaire survey. Interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis and questionnaires were evaluated using descriptive statistical methods. The results from both data sources were integrated and discussed in the framework of Normalization Process Theory. RESULTS Interviews were conducted with 24.5% (n=12) of nursing staff and 20.0% (n=2) of telemedicine physicians, while questionnaires were returned by 22.5% (n=11) of nursing staff and 33.3% (n=3) of telemedicine physicians. VC with general practitioners and psychiatrists were perceived as an additional support during times when physicians were absent from the correctional facilities. Allocating telemedicine physicians to specific correctional facilities might further improve interprofessional collaboration with nursing staff during VC. Inhibiting factors comprised the lack of integrating nursing staff into the implementation process, increased workload, insufficient training and the implementation of VC at an inconvenient time. CONCLUSIONS To summarize, VC are a promising supplement to face-to-face health care in correctional facilities despite several limitations. These might be compensated by improving interprofessional cooperation and by integrating telemedicine physicians into local health care teams.

Abstract
Medicine and technology are constantly evolving. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the development of digitalization in the health sector and specifically of telemedicine. Through a structured bibliographic review following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) methodology, in this study, the concepts related to telemedicine, its application and the legal regulatory context are defined. With this information, some recommendations and codes of good practice are proposed for their effective implementation in the field of Hepatology.

Abstract
More than 1.2 million adults are incarcerated in the United States and hence, require health care from prison systems. The current delivery of care to incarcerated individualss is expensive, logistically challenging, risk fragmenting care, and pose security risks. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association of patient characteristics and experiences with the perceived telemedicine experiences of incarcerated individuals during the pandemic. We conducted a cross-sectional study of incarcerated individuals in 55 North Carolina prison facilities seeking medical specialty care via telemedicine. Data collection took place from June 1, 2020 to November 30, 2020. Of the 482 patient surveys completed, 424 (88%) were male, 257 (53.3%) were over 50 years of age, and 225 (46.7%) were Black or African American and 195 (40.5%) were White, and 289 (60%) no prior telemedicine experience. There were 3 strong predictors of how patients rated their telemedicine experience: personal comfort with telemedicine (P-value < .001), wait time (P-value < .001), and the clarity of the treatment explanation by the provider (P-value < .001). There was a relationship between telemedicine experiences and how patient rated their experience. Also, patients who were less satisfied with using telemedicine indicated their preference for an in-clinic visit for their next appointment.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The prevalence and mortality of cardiovascular diseases are high worldwide. Telecardiology can be used to diagnose and treat these diseases. This paper aimed to review the effectiveness (positive and negative) of implemented telecardiology services in terms of clinical, economic, and patient-reported aspects. METHODS A comprehensive search was conducted in Medline (through PubMed), Scopus, ISI web of science, and IEEE Xplore databases from inception to April 7, 2021. the studies that examined the effectiveness of telecardiology interventions were included. RESULTS Fifty studies were included in this systematic review. Most investigations (22%) were conducted in the US. In 22% of studies, telecardiology intervention was used for patients with heart failure. Telecardiology has been used in most studies for tele-monitoring (n = 21, 42%) and tele-consultation (n = 17, 34%) and in 29 studies (58%), was applied for ECG transmission. The highest rate of effects reported by studies was clinical. Thirty-five studies (70%) reported the clinical effects; twenty-one studies reported the positive effects for the economic category, and fifteen studies reported the positive effect for patient-reported class. The most positive clinical effects of telecardiology were early diagnosis, early treatment, and mortality reduction. The most positive effect of the economic class was the reduction of health care costs. The most effects of the patient-reported category were improving the patient's quality of life and patient satisfaction. CONCLUSION Telecardiology can help early diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It also has great potential in reducing health care costs and increasing quality of life and patient satisfaction.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The implementation of medical digital technologies can provide better accessibility and flexibility of healthcare for the public. It encompasses the availability of open information on the health, treatment, complications, and recent progress on biomedical research. At present, even in low-income countries, diagnostic and medical services are becoming more accessible and available. However, many issues related to digital health technologies remain unmet, including the reliability, safety, testing, and ethical aspects. PURPOSE The aim of the review is to discuss and analyze the recent progress on the application of big data, artificial intelligence, telemedicine, block-chain platforms, smart devices in healthcare, and medical education. Basic Design. The publication search was carried out using Google Scholar, PubMed, Web of Sciences, Medline, Wiley Online Library, and CrossRef databases. The review highlights the applications of artificial intelligence, "big data," telemedicine and block-chain technologies, and smart devices (internet of things) for solving the real problems in healthcare and medical education. Major Findings. We identified 252 papers related to the digital health area. However, the number of papers discussed in the review was limited to 152 due to the exclusion criteria. The literature search demonstrated that digital health technologies became highly sought due to recent pandemics, including COVID-19. The disastrous dissemination of COVID-19 through all continents triggered the need for fast and effective solutions to localize, manage, and treat the viral infection. In this regard, the use of telemedicine and other e-health technologies might help to lessen the pressure on healthcare systems. Summary. Digital platforms can help optimize diagnosis, consulting, and treatment of patients. However, due to the lack of official regulations and recommendations, the stakeholders, including private and governmental organizations, are facing the problem with adequate validation and approbation of novel digital health technologies. In this regard, proper scientific research is required before a digital product is deployed for the healthcare sector.

Abstract
For more than a century, attempts to use modern technologies for communication between doctors and patients who are far from medical facilities have continued. At first, this was actualized mainly for the diagnosis and treatment of emergency conditions and was very limited. Recent exponential progress of communication technologies and Internet in most remote places allow both providing quality consultation care and developing disease prevention programs, in particular screening. But, unfortunately, in traditional medical organization, these opportunities cannot be fully actualized. The search for optimal communication forms between a doctor and a patient is ongoing. There remain many unsolved problems of the interaction between state, insurance and private medicine. Nevertheless, the accumulated experience suggests that this very promising branch of medicine will be developed.

Abstract
Since 1959, the rate of technological advancements, which has been buoyed by the evolution of microprocessors that stimulate innovation, has grown exponentially, doubling every 12 to 18 months (Roser & Ritchie, 2020). In 2020, it is impossible to walk down the street without seeing people checking their smartphones. However, it was only four decades ago that the personal computer was first introduced into the marketplace. It has been a little more than a decade since the first smartphone-the iPhone by Apple-was released in 2007, followed by the release of the iPad in 2010 (Zimmermann, 2017). As of 2019, an estimated 269 million people in the United States use smartphones (Holst, 2019). Increased technological advancements, as well as the widespread availability of these technologies and their application to Americans' daily lives, have become the norm. In the clinical nursing care of patients with cancer, the use of technology is also gaining momentum. This supplement to the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing explores how technology in health care can extend and enhance clinical oncology nursing care.
