Abstract
BACKGROUND While patients with heart failure (HF) with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (HFrEF) constitutes a global health crisis the incidence, prevalence and prognosis of the disease may differ depending on the continent and country. OBJECTIVE To profile, analyze and compare cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) data of patients with HFrEF between Italian and Brazilian cohorts. METHODS In this observational study, a total of 630 patients with clinical and functional diagnosis of HFrEF (315 patients from Brazil and 315 patients from Italy) performed CPET. RESULTS Although Brazilian patients were slightly younger (Brazil 60±10 vs Italy 64±11 p<0.001) with a better peak oxygen consumption (V̇O2), circulatory power and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (p<0.01), ventilatory inefficiency and oscillation ventilation was higher when compared to the Italian cohort. When stratifying patients with LVEF≤30 % and age≥60 years, Brazilian patients presented worse ventilatory efficiency, and lower peak V̇O2 compared to the Italian cohort. CONCLUSION Patients with HFrEF from Brazil exhibited higher ventilatory inefficiency and a greater prevalence of oscillatory ventilation during CPET compared to patients with the same diagnosis from Italy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The Work Role Functioning Questionnaire 2.0 (WRFQ 2.0) is an important instrument within the context of occupational health, consisting of 27 items and 5 domains. In addition, a short version of WRFQ 2.0 with 5 items (WRFQ-5) was proposed, showing agreement with the long version. Thus, we aimed to confirm the number of factors of the WRFQ-5 short version and to verify the structural, construct, and criterion validity, reliability, internal consistency, and analysis of ceiling and floor effects of the Brazilian version of the WRFQ-5 in a general workers population. METHODS A questionnaire validation and measurement properties study. We evaluated the internal structure of the WRFQ-5 by means of confirmatory factor analysis. Construct validity was assessed by correlating the WRFQ-5 with the Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), Work Ability Index (WAI), and Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain (SEFIP-work). Criterion validity was assessed by correlating the WRFQ-5 with the 5 domains of the WRFQ 2.0. Test-retest reliability and internal consistency were also evaluated. RESULTS We observed positive correlations (p < .05) between the WRFQ-5 and the WAI (rho = 0.161 to 0.308) and negative correlations (p < .05) between the WRFQ-5 and the SEFIP-work (rho = -0.293). The WRFQ-5 significantly and positively correlates with the 5 domains of WRFQ 2.0 (rho = 0.742 to 0.830). The test-retest reliability of the WRFQ-5 was excellent (ICC2,1 = 0.935) and the internal consistency was adequate (Cronbach's alpha = 0.938). We did not observe ceiling and floor effects. CONCLUSION The one-dimensional internal structure of the WRFQ-5 in Brazilian Portuguese has a valid internal structure and construct, as well as adequate reliability and internal consistency.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is considered a chronic disease with numerous secondary complications that negatively affect the quality of life of patients. However, the specific, known and validated instruments for Brazilian Portuguese are too extensive, which often makes their use infeasible. OBJECTIVE To validate the internal structure of the Brazilian version of the Diabetes Quality of Life (DQOL) measure. METHODOLOGY Patients with DM type 1 or 2, between the ages of 18 and 76, were evaluated between April 2022 and May 2022. The survey was conducted online using the Google Forms platform. The original DQOL contains 46 multiple-choice questions organized into four domains. For structural validity, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed using RStudio software (Boston, MA, USA) with the packages lavaan and semPlot. RESULTS A total of 354 subjects were evaluated. The 3-domain, 24-item version of the DQOL was the most adequate, with acceptable values for all fit indices (chi-square/GL < 3, TLI and CFI > 0.90, and RMSEA and SRMR < 0.08). CONCLUSION The structure with three domains and 24 items is the most appropriate based on factor analysis. The Brazilian version of the DQOL with a structure of 3 domains and 24 items has adequate measurement properties that support its use in the clinical and scientific context in patients with DM.

Abstract
The six-minute step test (6MST) has been shown to be effective in assessing exercise capacity in individuals with COPD regardless of severity and, despite its easy execution, accessibility and validity, information on the prognostic power of this test remains uncertain. The aim of this study is to investigate whether the 6MST can predict the occurrence of exacerbations in patients with COPD. This is a prospective cohort study with a 36-month follow-up in patients with COPD. All patients completed a clinical assessment, followed by pulmonary function testing and a 6MST. The 6MST was performed on a 20 cm high step; heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, BORG dyspnea and fatigue were collected. Sixty-four patients were included in the study, the majority being elderly men. Performance on the 6MST demonstrated lower performance compared to normative values proposed in the literature, indicating a reduced functional capacity. Kaplan Meier analysis revealed that ≤ 59 steps climbed during the 6MST was a strong predictor of COPD exacerbation over a 36-month follow-up. We have identified a minimal threshold number of steps (≤ 59) obtained through the 6MST may be able predict the risk of exacerbations in patients with COPD.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To create, develop, and validate a scale that identifies the environmental and personal barriers that make it difficult to adhere to the practice of physical exercise on a regular basis in a population of Brazilian adults. METHODS We include adult individuals, aged 18-59 years, practitioners or former practitioners of physical exercise, with Brazilian Portuguese as their mother tongue. In the development and validation phases of the process, 6 specialists in the field of the health assessed the content validity: firstly, the specialists were asked to freely list the questions they would ask to investigate the barriers to adherence to regulating physical activity. Secondly, after compiling all the suggestions listed and eliminating suggestions with similar content, the items suggested in the first round were sent to the specialists so that an evaluation of all questions using a 5-point Likert scale and the content validity coefficient was calculated. We then evaluated the structural validity, construct validity, reliability, internal consistency, and ceiling and floor effects of the Regular Physical Exercise Adherence Scale (REPEAS). RESULTS Sixteen items were proposed to measure the factors that make it difficult to adhere to the regular practice of physical exercise. The internal structure of the REPEAS initially tested was based on the theoretical proposal of creating the instrument with two domains. After the structural analysis, we used the modification indices to identify the redundant items of the instrument. Consequently, the final version of the REPEAS after factor analysis had 12 items. Thus, the structure with 2 domains and 12 items presented adequate fit indices. With regard to construct validity, the REPEAS scores were compared in two distinct groups: irregular practitioners/ex-practitioners versus regular practitioners of physical exercise, in which a significant difference could be observed between groups (p < 0.001) for both the domains. Acceptable reliability was observed for the environment and personal domains, with ICC values of 0.86 and 0.94, in the same order. For internal consistency, Cronbach's alpha value was 0.908 (environmental domain) and 0.915 (personal domain), these values being adequate for the REPEAS. CONCLUSION The REPEAS is a scale with a valid two-dimensional internal structure, consisting of 12 items, reliable and with a valid construct, which supports its use in the clinical, epidemiological, and research contexts in Brazil.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Compare heart rate variability (HRV) indices in participants with and without myogenic temporomandibular disorder (TMD). Secondarily, we correlated HRV indices with pain and quality of life variables. METHODS This is a comparative observational cross-sectional study. Individuals of both genders with and without a history of TMD were included. Short-term heart rate variability was assessed using a Polar V800. Central sensitization was assessed using the Central Sensitization Inventory. Pain through the numeric pain scale and the impact of oral health on quality of life using the OHIP-14 questionnaire. RESULTS A total of 80 participants were enrolled in the study: most individuals included in both groups were young adults, women and slightly overweight. We observed a decrease in HRV in the TMD group (p < 0.01) when compared to the control group. In addition, we observed a greater impact of oral health on quality of life, central sensitization in addition to high resting pain scores (p < 0.01). We observed significant correlation between the LF index of HRV and the FAI score (r = 0.311; p = 0.05). The NPS, CSI and OHIP-14 scores did not correlate with any of the HRV indices (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION The short-term HRV in individuals with TMD is significantly lower when compared to a control group. Furthermore, there seems to be a relationship between the severity of the dysfunction and the HRV variables. CLINICAL RELEVANCE Using portable and low-cost devices, the HRV can be easily collected and analyzed, without the need for an arsenal of equipment such as the conventional electrocardiogram. This measure can contribute to the therapy adopted and identify individuals prone to unfavorable outcomes involving ANS modulation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Individuals with COPD have an imbalance of cardiac autonomic control. In this context, HRV is considered an important tool for assessing cardiac sympathetic and parasympathetic balance, however it is a dependent evaluator measure and subject to methodological biases that may compromise the interpretation of results. OBJECTIVE This study examines the inter- and intrarater reliability of HRV parameters derived from short-term recordings in individuals with COPD. METHODOLOGY Fifty-one individuals of both genders with COPD clinical diagnosis confirmed by the pulmonary function test and aged ≥50 years were included. The RR interval (RRi) were recorded during a 10 min period on supine position using a portable heart rate monitor (Polar® H10 model). The data were transferred into Kubios® HRV Standard analysis software and analyzed within the stable sessions containing 256 sequential RRi. RESULTS The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) ranged from 0.942 to 1.000 according to the intrarater analysis by Researcher 01 and 0.915 to 0.998 to the intrarater by Researcher 02. The interrater ICC ranged from 0.921 to 0.998. The coefficient of variation was up to 8.28 for Researcher 01 intrarater analysis, 9.06 for Researcher 02 intrarater analysis and 13.07 for interrater analysis. CONCLUSION The measurement of HRV using a portable heart rate device in individuals with COPD present acceptable values of intra- and interrater reliability, supporting the use of HRV in the clinical and scientific scenario. Furthermore, it is important that the data analysis be performed by the same experienced evaluator.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To correlate the functional performance assessed by means of the Unilateral Seated Shot-Put Test (SSPT) with shoulder muscle strength, range of motion (ROM), and handgrip strength in recreational athletes with chronic shoulder pain. METHODS AND MATERIALS The sample was composed of recreational athletes with nonspecific pain in the dominant shoulder ≥3 months, both sexes, aged between 18 and 45 years. We diagnosed shoulder pain by reporting pain intensity ≥3 points on the Numerical Rating Pain Scale and used the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index, Pain-Related Catastrophizing Thoughts Scale, and Baecke Questionnaire. Moreover, shoulder muscle strength, handgrip strength, ROM, and functional performance using the SSPT were evaluated. We used the Spearman correlation coefficient to investigate the correlation between the variables. RESULTS Nineteen participants were included. Most of the sample consisted of adult women with adequate body mass and pain predominantly in the right shoulder. We observed higher correlation magnitudes of the SSPT with handgrip strength (rho = 0.818 to 0.833, p < 0.05). Correlations of the SPPT with shoulder musculature strength were of low to moderate magnitude (rho = 0.461 to 0.672, p < 0.05). The only significant correlation (p < 0.05) found was between the SSPT and ROM (horizontal adduction), however, with a weak magnitude (rho <0.50). CONCLUSION SSPT correlates strongly with handgrip strength and moderately with shoulder muscle strength in recreational athletes with chronic shoulder pain.

Abstract
Objective The purpose of this study was to analyze the intra- and inter-examiner reliability of the analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) captured by a Polar cardio frequency meter in individuals with chronic nonspecific low back pain. Methods The study included 35 individuals with nonspecific low back pain, both sexes, aged 18 to 45. We used a Polar V800 cardio frequency meter to capture HRV in individuals in different positions, and we calculated the reliability through the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results Regarding intra-examiner reliability, we found excellent reliability of HRV analysis in the supine position (ICC ranging from 0.89 to 1.00) and in the standing position (ICC ranging from 0.95 to 0.99). In addition, for inter-examiner reliability, we found substantial to excellent reliability of the HRV analysis in the supine position (ICC ranging from 0.76 to 0.98) and moderate to excellent reliability in the standing position (ICC ranging from 0.73 to 0.99). Conclusion The HRV analysis captured by a Polar cardio frequency meter presented adequate reliability when considering different times and different examiners.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire for general pain (RMDQ-g) is an instrument adapted to assess disability in patients with pain in any region of the body. OBJECTIVE To perform the structural and criterion validity of the RMDQ-g in Brazilian patients with chronic pain. DESIGN A cross-sectional study. METHODS We included native speakers of Brazilian Portuguese, of both sexes, aged ≥18 years, with pain for at least 3 months in any region of the body. Participants eligible for the study responded to an online form containing personal and clinical data, and assessment instruments. We used the confirmatory factor analysis and considered the following fit indices: chi-square/degree of freedom (DF), comparative fit index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis index (TLI), root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA). In the comparison between models, we considered the structure with the lowest values of the Akaike information criterion (AIC) and sample-size adjusted Bayesian information criterion (SABIC). We assessed criterion validity via Spearman's correlation coefficient (rho) to correlate the long and short versions. RESULTS The study consisted of 297 participants with chronic pain. The main sites of pain were the lumbar region (40.7%), thoracic (21.5%), and neck (19.5%). Mean pain intensity was greater than 5 points. The 24-item long version and the 15-item short version had adequate fit indices (chi-square/DF ≤ 1.77, CFI ≥0.97, TLI ≥0.96, and RMSEA ≤0.05). However, when comparing structures, the short version was the most appropriate because it had the lowest values of AIC (2562.05) and SABIC (2577.72). Criterion validity was acceptable (rho = 0.94) and internal consistency as well (Cronbach's alpha = 0.87). CONCLUSION The structural validity and criterion validity of the RMDQ-g with one domain and 15 items is the most appropriate version and should be considered in the clinical environment and in research for measuring disability in patients with chronic pain in any region of the body.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Considering the ability of the health and self-management in diabetes questionnaire (HASMID-10) to verify the impact of self-management on diabetes, we highlight its relevance to scientific research and clinical applicability. However, to date, no study has been conducted to scientifically support its use in other languages. OBJECTIVE To translate, cross-culturally adapt, and validate the HASMID-10 into the Brazilian Portuguese. DESIGN AND SETTING A translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and validation study conducted at Ceuma University. METHODS Study was conducted in accordance with the Guidelines for the Process of Cross-Cultural Adaptation of Self-Report Measures and Consensus-based Standards for the Selection of Health Measurement Instruments. We included participants of both sexes diagnosed with diabetes, aged between 18 and 64 years, and without cognitive deficits or any other limitations that would prevent them from answering the questionnaire. We assessed participants using the problem areas in diabetes (PAID) scale and HASMID-10. We assessed reliability using a test-retest model with a 7-day interval between assessments. We used intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), 95% confidence interval (CI), standard error of measurement (SEM), minimum detectable difference (MDD), Spearman correlation coefficient, and floor and ceiling effects. RESULTS Sample comprised 116 participants, most of whom were women, overweight, non-practitioners of physical activity, and nonsmokers. We observed significant correlations (P = 0.006; rho = -0.256) between the HASMID-10 and PAID, adequate reliability (ICC = 0.780) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.796). No ceiling or floor effects were observed. CONCLUSION HASMID-10 has adequate measurement properties and may be used for Brazilians.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to translate, cross-culturally adapt and validate the Gillette Functional Assessment Questionnaire (FAQ) into Brazilian Portuguese. METHODS The translation and cross-cultural adaptation was carried out in accordance with international recommendations. The FAQ was applied to a sample of 102 patients diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP). Construct validity was assessed using Spearman's correlation coefficient (rho), and the FAQ score was correlated with the Functional Mobility Scale (FMS) and Gross Motor Function Classification Scale (GMFCS). A subsample of 50 patients was used to assess reliability using intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), standard error of measurement (SEM) and minimum detectable difference (MDD). Ceiling and floor effects were also evaluated. RESULTS The Brazilian version of the FAQ showed excellent test-retest reliability by the assessment of the physiotherapist (ICC = 0.99) and respondent (ICC = 0.97), as well as excellent inter-examiner reliability (ICC = 0.94). The SEM was 0.23 (physiotherapist), 0.47 (respondent) and 0.64 (inter-examiner), while the MDD was 0.64 (physiotherapist), 1.29 (respondent) and 1.76 (inter-examiner). The classification of gross motor function showed a high correlation with the FAQ applied by the physiotherapist (rho = -0.89) and by the respondent (rho = -0.87). The FMS-5 m was highly correlated with the FAQ applied by the physiotherapist and the respondent (rho = 0.88 and rho = 0.87, respectively). The FMS-50 and FMS-500 presented very high correlation with the FAQ applied by the physiotherapist (rho = 0.91 for both) and high correlation with the FAQ applied by the respondent (rho = 0.89 and rho = 0.88, respectively). The Brazilian version of the FAQ did not present the ceiling and floor effects. CONCLUSION The FAQ presented adequate psychometric properties in patients with CP, indicating that it is possible to use it as a measure of functional gait mobility in Brazil.

Abstract
PURPOSE To identify the best internal structure of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia in chronic low back pain patients. DESIGN Questionnaire validation study was designed for this study. SETTING This study was conducted in physical therapy facility. SUBJECTS Respondents reporting chronic low back pain (≥3 points on the 11-point Numerical Pain Rating Scale). MAIN MEASURES We included participants of both sexes, with a self-report of low back pain ≥3 months and with pain intensity ≥3 on the 11-point Numerical Pain Rating Scale; participants also answered the Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire and the Pain-Related Catastrophizing Thoughts Scale for low back pain disability and catastrophizing, respectively. The dimensionality and number of items of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia were evaluated using the confirmatory factor analysis. Criterion validity was assessed using Spearman's correlation coefficient using the original version of the 17-item Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia as the gold standard. RESULTS A total of 122 participants were included, with mean values of low back pain duration ≥48 months, pain intensity >5 and disability >8. Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia structure with two domains and nine items was the most suitable, with adequate values in all fit indices (Chi-square/degree of freedom <3, Comparative Fit Index and Tucker-Lewis Index >0.90, and root mean square error of approximation <0.08) and lower Akaike information criterion and Bayesian information criterion values. We observed a high correlation between the 17-item Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia and the activity avoidance domain (rho = 0.850, P < 0.001) and somatic focus domain (rho = 0.792, P < 0.001) of the nine-item Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia. CONCLUSION Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia structure with two domains (activity avoidance and somatic focus) and nine items is the most suitable for patients with chronic low back pain.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to measure the reliability, internal consistency, and construct validity of the Kidney Symptom Questionnaire for the Brazilian population. METHODS This is a cross-cultural adaptation and questionnaire validation study. We included native Brazilians of both sex aged>18 years, as well as hypertensive and/or diabetic patients. All participants were assessed using Screening for Occult Renal Disease, EuroQol 5 Dimensions, 36-Item Short Form Survey, and the Kidney Symptom Questionnaire. We used Spearman's coefficient (rho) to measure the correlations between the Kidney Symptom Questionnaire and other instruments; Cronbach's alpha to measure internal consistency; and intraclass correlation coefficient, standard error of measurement, and minimum detectable change to measure test-retest reliability. RESULTS The sample was formed by 121 adult participants, mostly female, with systemic arterial hypertension and/or diabetes mellitus. We found excellent reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient≥0.978), adequate internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha≥0.860), and adequate construct validity on the Kidney Symptom Questionnaire domains; besides, we observed significant correlations between the Kidney Symptom Questionnaire and other instruments. CONCLUSION The Brazilian version of the Kidney Symptom Questionnaire has adequate measurement properties to assess chronic/occult kidney disease in patients who do not require renal replacement therapy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Functional tests are important clinical tools, since they are non-invasive methods, with simple applicability, and low cost. However, there are few tests adapted for individuals with chronic low back pain. Thus, our objective was to evaluate the test-retest and inter-rater reliability of the 2-Minute Step Test in individuals with chronic low back pain and to correlate the test score with measures of pain and physical activity. METHODS We included patients aged between 18 and 45 years, of both sexes, and with low back pain. The interval between the test and retest was 7 days. We analyzed the data via intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC), confidence interval at 95%, standard error of measurement, and minimum detectable change for reliability. We used the Spearman's correlation coefficient to verify the correlation between 2-Minute Step Test and measures of pain and physical activity (Numerical Pain Scale, Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire, Pain-Related Catastrophizing Thoughts Scale, Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia, and Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire). RESULTS Sample is composed of 37 individuals, most of them female, with overweight and low back pain > 60 months. 2-Minute Step Test showed excellent test-retest (ICC = 0.903) and inter-rater (ICC = 0.925) reliability. Sport domain of the Baecke showed a significant correlation with the 2-Minute Step Test (rho = 0.444). CONCLUSION 2-Minute Step Test is a reliable measure to measure the functional capacity of patients with chronic low back pain considering different times and examiners, as well as being positively correlated with sports practice.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Delirium is an underdiagnosed condition and this may be related, among other causes, to the incorrect use of assessment tools due to lack of knowledge about cognitive assessment and lack of training of the care team. The aim of this study was to investigate the difficulties encountered by the nursing team in the application of the Confusion Assessment Method for the Intensive Care Unit (CAM-ICU) in patients on mechanical ventilation. METHODS This is descriptive study with a qualitative approach in a private tertiary hospital located in northeast Brazil. Data collection took place from July 2018 to January 2019. We included 32 nurses and used face-to-face semi-structured interviews. The recorded data were analysed using content analysis. This study followed the recommendations of the Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research (SRQR). RESULTS We identified three major categories: lack of knowledge of professionals, subdivided into deficit in academic formation, difficulty in the differential diagnosis of delirium and delusion, and lack of knowledge about the steps of the CAM-ICU; difficulty in patient cooperation; and lack of adequate training to apply the CAM-ICU. CONCLUSION Nurses have a deficit in academic formation on delirium and need adequate training for the correct and frequent use of the CAM-ICU.

Abstract
Background Psychological factors play an important role in the adequate return of an athlete to sport. Our aim was to perform the translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and validation of the Athlete Fear Avoidance Questionnaire (AFAQ) into Brazilian Portuguese. Methods We performed the translation and cross-cultural adaptation and evaluated the structural validity, construct validity, and test–retest reliability. In addition to the AFAQ, we used the Numerical Pain Scale (NPS), Pain-Related Catastrophizing Thoughts Scale (PCTS), Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain Questionnaire for athletes (SEFIP-sport), and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). We used the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to analyze the internal structure of the AFAQ. We used the Spearman’s correlation coefficient (rho) to determine the magnitude of correlation between the AFAQ and the other instruments. We evaluated the test–retest reliability and internal consistency by means of intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach’s alpha, respectively. Results No adaptation was necessary to produce the AFAQ version in Brazilian Portuguese. We included 160 participants in the study. We identified the one-dimensionality of the AFAQ through the EFA with the implementation of parallel analysis (KMO = 0.83, p < 0.001 in Bartlett's Sphericity test). In construct validity, the magnitudes of correlation between the AFAQ and the other instruments ranged from 0.257 to 0.548. We identified adequate reliability (ICC = 0.85) and internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.90). Conclusion The Brazilian version of the AFAQ with one domain and 10 items has adequate measurement properties in injured professional and recreational athletes. Abstract
Individuals affected by COVID-19 have an alteration in autonomic balance, associated with impaired cardiac parasympathetic modulation and, consequently, a decrease in heart rate variability (HRV). This study examines the inter- and intrarater reliability of HRV) parameters derived from short-term recordings in individuals post-COVID. Sixty-nine participants of both genders post-COVID were included. The RR interval, the time elapsed between two successive R-waves of the QRS signal on the electrocardiogram (RRi), were recorded during a 10 min period in a supine position using a portable heart rate monitor (Polar® V800 model). The data were transferred into Kubios® HRV standard analysis software and analyzed within the stable sessions containing 256 sequential RRi. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) ranged from 0.920 to 1.000 according to the intrarater analysis by Researcher 01 and 0.959 to 0.999 according to the intrarater by Researcher 02. The interrater ICC ranged from 0.912 to 0.998. The coefficient of variation was up to 9.23 for Researcher 01 intrarater analysis, 6.96 for Researcher 02 intrarater analysis and 8.83 for interrater analysis. The measurement of HRV in post-COVID-19 individuals is reliable and presents a small amount of error inherent to the method, supporting its use in the clinical environment and in scientific research.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to compare heart rate variability (HRV) between patients with chronic neck pain and patients with chronic low back pain and to correlate the chronic pain variables with heart rate variability indices. METHODS This is a cross-sectional study. We divided the sample into two groups: neck pain (n=30) and low back pain (n=30). We used the Numeric Pain Rating Scale, Neck Disability Index, Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire, Pain-Related Catastrophizing Thoughts Scale, Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia, and Pain Self-Efficacy Questionnaire. For heart rate variability analysis, we used the following indices: mean RR, standard deviation of all RR intervals, mean heart rate, root mean square differences of successive RR intervals, triangular index, triangular interpolation of the interval histogram, low-frequency band in arbitrary units and in absolute values, high-frequency band in arbitrary units and in absolute values, standard deviation of the instantaneous beat-to-beat variability (standard deviation 1), long-term standard deviation of continuous RR intervals (standard deviation 2), and Stress Index. We used Student's t-test for comparisons and Spearman's coefficient for correlations. RESULTS We observe insignificant values in the differences between the groups. Disability and self-efficacy were correlated with heart rate variability only in patients with chronic neck pain, whereas catastrophizing and kinesiophobia showed greater correlations with heart rate variability in patients with chronic low back pain. CONCLUSIONS Autonomic dysfunction of individuals with chronic neck pain, when compared to patients with chronic low back pain, does present insignificant differences.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to assess the inter-reliability of the Braden scale and its subscales for different patients assisted in the intensive care unit. We hypothesized that the Braden scale has low reliability in different populations. METHODS This reliability study involved the Braden scale in intensive care unit of a hospital. A total of 200 patients were admitted to the intensive care unit in four different groups: neurological patients, sepsis, elderly, and adults affected by trauma. The Braden scale is a tool composed of six subscales for patient assessment: sensory perception, humidity, activity, mobility, nutrition, and friction. The total score was also calculated. The Braden scale was applied by two different nurses with an interval of 20-30 min between applications. RESULTS For all populations, kappa values considered unsuitable were observed for most categories of the Braden scale, ranging from 0.06-0.25. Only for the total Braden scale score was moderate reliability identified in all groups evaluated, with intraclass correlation coefficient values ranging from 0.48-0.75. CONCLUSIONS Braden scale is not a reliable tool to be used in the intensive care unit, and we do not recommend the use of this scale to assess the risk of developing pressure injury.

Abstract
Objective To create, develop, and validate the Fear of Return to Sport Scale (FRESS) for injured professional or recreational athletes in rehabilitation. Methods This is a questionnaire validation study. To determine the structural and construct validity, 192 injured professional or recreational athletes of different sports modalities were included. We used a subsample with 32 participants to analyze test-retest reliability and internal consistency. Main outcome measures were the FRESS, Numerical Pain Scale (NPS), Pain-Related Catastrophizing Thoughts Scale (PCTS), Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain Questionnaire for athletes (SEFIP-sport), and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Results Initially, 25 questions were proposed by the specialists. Of these, 4 questions were excluded due to similarity with others. After applying the content validity coefficient, 8 questions were excluded for presenting a value lower than 0.80, leaving 13 items. The exploratory factor analysis identified the one-dimensional structure of the FRESS with 13 items. However, five items were excluded for presenting high covariance with the error of several other FRESS items in the confirmatory factor analysis. Thus, the final version of the FRESS was defined with one domain and eight items. Regarding the construct validity, we observed a magnitude of correlation varying between 0.257 and 0.470 between the FRESS and the instruments used here. We observed adequate test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.896) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.868). Ceiling and floor effects were not observed. Conclusion The FRESS with one domain and eight items has acceptable measurement properties and its use in clinical and sports environments to measure the fear of returning to sport in injured professional or recreational athletes is supported. Abstract
Background Our objective was to verify the reliability, internal consistency and construct validity of the Barthel Index in Brazilian cancer patients in palliative care. Methods We included patients with cancer, both sexes, and age greater than or equal to 18 years. We used to evaluate patients the Barthel Index, Karnofsky Performance Scale (KPS), and European Organization for Research in the Treatment of Cancer Questionnaire-core 15 (EORTC-QLQ-C15-PAL). The measurement properties evaluated in this study were test–retest and inter-rater reliability and construct validity (tested by means of correlations with other instruments). Results We included 220 patients for construct validity and a subsample of 27 patients for reliability analyses. We observed adequate reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient ≥ 0.962) and internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.942). There were adequate correlations between the Barthel Index and the KPS (rho = 0.766), and the functional capacity domain of the EORTC-QLQ-C15-PAL (rho = -0.698). Conclusion The Brazilian version of the Barthel Index presents adequate test–retest and inter-rater reliability, acceptable internal consistency, and valid construct for measuring functional independence in cancer patients. Abstract
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to validate the internal structure of the Brazilian version of the Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted with individuals over 18 years old of both sexes, with Brazilian Portuguese as their native language. The structure of the Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire was tested by confirmatory factor analysis. The model fit was evaluated by the following indices: root mean square error of approximation, comparative fit index, Tucker-Lewis index, standardized root mean square residual, and χ²/degrees of freedom. We used the Akaike information criterion and Bayesian information criterion to compare different structures of the Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire. RESULTS: A total of 241 individuals participated in this study. The original structure of the Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire with 16 items and 3 domains was compared to a structure with 14 items and 3 domains. The internal structure of the Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire with 14 items showed better fit indices and lower Akaike information criterion and Bayesian information criterion values. CONCLUSION: The best internal structure of the Brazilian version of the Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire in adults presents 3 domains and 14 items.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the measurement properties of the Brazilian version of the Copenhagen Neck Functional Disability Scale (CNFDS) in patients with chronic neck pain. METHODS One hundred and five patients were included in the study. The structural validity of the CNFDS was assessed by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis with the following fit indices: chi-square divided by degrees of freedom (chi-square/df), root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA), comparative fit index (CFI), and Tucker-Lewis index (TLI). To test the construct validity, the CNFDS score was correlated with the Numerical Pain Rating Scale, the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia, the Pain-Related Catastrophizing Thoughts Scale, and Neck Disability Index (NDI). A subsample of 43 patients filled the CNFDS at two different times, and test-retest reliability was measured using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), standard error of measurement (SEM), and minimum detectable change (MDC). The internal consistency of the CNFDS was analyzed by Cronbach's alpha. RESULTS CNFDS presented a unidimensional structure, with goodness of fit indices: chi-square/df = 1.37, CFI = 0.94, TLI = 0.93, RMSEA = 0.059. The CNFDS showed satisfactory results of reliability (ICC = 0.93) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.84). The SEM was 1.72 and the MDC was 4.76. The CNFDS showed a high correlation with the NDI (rho = 0.718) and a low correlation with the other instruments. There were no floor and ceiling effects. CONCLUSION The Brazilian version of the CNFDS with a one-dimensional structure and 15 items has adequate measurement properties.

Abstract
Objective The purpose of this study was to measure the reliability, internal consistency, construct validity, and floor and ceiling effects of the Brazilian version of the Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain (SEFIP-dance) instrument. Methods This was a questionnaire validation study. Both professional dancers and those who use dance as a recreational activity were included in the study. For test-retest reliability, SEFIP-dance was administered to the same dancer at 2 different times, with an interval of 7 days between the moments. For construct validity, Spearman's correlation coefficient (r s) was used to determine the magnitude of the correlations between SEFIP-dance and the Numerical Rating Scale, the 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey, the Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire for general pain, and the Örebro Musculoskeletal Pain Questionnaire. Results A total of 111 dancers were recruited and included in the study. From this total sample, a subsample of 31 was used for the calculations of test-retest reliability: when considering each item of SEFIP-dance, we observed adequate κ values (κ ≥ 0.52); considering the total score, we observed excellent reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.94). In addition, we identified adequate values for internal consistency (Cronbach's α ≥ 0.80). We observed significant correlations of the SEFIP-dance total score with the Numerical Rating Scale, 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey, the Roland-Morris questionnaire, and the Örebro Musculoskeletal Pain Questionnaire (r s varying between 0.248 and 0.489). Ceiling and floor effects were not observed. Conclusion This study found that the Brazilian Portuguese version of SEFIP-dance has psychometric properties suitable for its use in dancers.

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN A questionnaire validity study. OBJECTIVES To perform the translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and analysis of the measurement properties of the Brazilian Portuguese version of the Spinal Cord Injury Pain Instrument (SCIPI) for the screening of neuropathic pain in spinal cord injury. SETTING Neurorehabilitation hospital in north-eastern Brazil. METHODS We performed the translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the SCIPI. The pre-final version was applied in 10 patients with spinal cord injury sequelae and pain report. The final version of the SCIPI was applied to 100 patients. The measurement properties evaluated were structural validity, test-retest reliability, internal consistency, construct validity, and diagnostic accuracy. RESULTS None of the items in the pre-final version of the SCIPI had any comprehension problems. The one-dimensional structure of the final version of the SCIPI was adequate. There were significant correlations between the SCIPI and the Douleur Neuropathique 4 (rho = 0.546), as well as adequate test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.89, kappa ≥ 0.79), internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha ≥ 0.76), and diagnostic accuracy (area under the curve = 0.860). CONCLUSION The Brazilian version of the SCIPI presents measurement properties that are suitable for measuring neuropathic pain related to spinal cord injury.

Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by high blood glucose levels, causing serious damage to the cardiovascular, respiratory, renal and other systems. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) was 6.28% in 2017, considering all age groups worldwide (prevalence rate of 6,059 cases per 100,000), and its global prevalence is projected to increase to 7,079 cases per 100,000 by 2030. Furthermore, these individuals are often affected by diabetic myopathy, which is the failure to preserve muscle mass and function in the course of DM. This happens in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and T2DM. As skeletal muscle plays a key role in locomotion and glucose homeostasis, diabetic myopathy may contribute to additional complications of the disease. In addition, chronic hyperglycemia is associated with lung functional changes seen in patients with DM, such as reduced lung volumes and compliance, inspiratory muscle strength, and lung elastic recoil. Thus, the weakness of the inspiratory muscles, a consequence of diabetic myopathy, can influence exercise tolerance. Thus, moderate strength training in T2DM can contribute to the gain of peripheral muscle strength. Although the literature is robust on the loss of mass and consequent muscle weakness in diabetic myopathy, triggering pathophysiological factors, the impact on functional capacity, as well as the prescription of physical exercise for this condition deserves to be further explored. This review aims to explore the consequences of diabetic myopathy and its implication in rehabilitation from prescription to safety in the practice of physical exercises for these individuals.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to investigate the reliability and construct validity of the Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain questionnaire for workers in a sample of Brazilian workers with musculoskeletal pain. METHODS This is a questionnaire validation study. Workers with musculoskeletal pain were included. Besides the Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain questionnaire for workers, we used the following instruments to perform construct validity: the Work Ability Index and the Numerical Pain Rating Scale. A subsample answered the Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain questionnaire for workers in two moments to calculate reliability by means of the intraclass correlation coefficient and internal consistency by means of the Cronbach's alpha. RESULTS A total of 190 Brazilian workers were included. Regarding the construct validity, we observed a correlation with magnitude above 0.50 between the Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain questionnaire for workers and the Numerical Pain Rating Scale, given that these two instruments have similarity in the construct, and correlations above 0.30 between the Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain questionnaire for workers and the domains 2, 3, and 4 of the Work Ability Index. Regarding reliability, we observed adequate reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient=0.864) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha=0.807). CONCLUSION The Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain questionnaire for workers is a reliable and valid instrument to be used in Brazilian workers with musculoskeletal pain.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to translate, cross-culturally adapt, and validate the Canadian Diabetes Risk Questionnaire for use in Brazilian Portuguese. METHODS This is a Questionnaire validity study conducted at a private university. The Brazilian version of the Canadian Diabetes Risk Questionnaire was developed by means of the processes of translation, back-translation, committee review, and pretesting. Test-retest reliability was measured using the intraclass correlation coefficient and kappa coefficient. Internal consistency was measured using Cronbach's alpha. For construct validity, the total score of the Canadian Diabetes Risk Questionnaire was correlated with the Diabetes Knowledge Scale and the Diabetes Mellitus Risk Questionnaire. Ceiling and floor effects were also evaluated in the present study. RESULTS For construct validity and floor and ceiling effect measurements, a total sample of 100 participants was used. For reliability, a subsample of 34 participants out of the total sample was used. We identified adequate values for reliability (kappa between 0.46-1.00 and ICC 0.96) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha 0.80). There were significant correlations between the Canadian Diabetes Risk Questionnaire and the Diabetes Mellitus Risk Questionnaire (rs=0.370, p<0.001), but not the Diabetes Knowledge Scale (rs= -0.162). No ceiling or floor effects were found. CONCLUSION We concluded that in accordance with the best international recommendations, the Brazilian version of the Canadian Diabetes Risk Questionnaire has adequate psychometric properties.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to translate, adapt, and analyze the reliability of the Workplace Sitting Breaks Questionnaire (SITBRQ) for use in Brazil. METHODS This is a cross-sectional study. The translation and cross-cultural adaptation were conducted considering the following six phases: translation, synthesis of translations, back translation, analysis by a committee of experts, test of the pre-final version, and final version. We included workers aged 18 years or above, both genders, and able to understand, read, and write in Brazilian Portuguese. The final version was applied to workers in two moments (i.e., test and retest), with an interval of 7 days, for reliability calculation. RESULTS In the translation and cross-cultural adaptation phase, the pre-final version was applied to a sample of 35 workers. For item a of the SITBRQ, there was 100% understanding by respondents, while item b was understood by 94.28%. The reliability phase was conducted with 115 workers. For both items, almost perfect was identified with kappa >0.81. CONCLUSIONS The SITBRQ version into Brazilian Portuguese has adequate adaptation and excellent values of reliability.

Abstract
Among the most prevalent multimorbidities that accompany the aging process, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic heart failure (CHF) stand out, representing the main causes of hospital admissions in the world. The prevalence of COPD coexistence in patients with CHF is higher than in control subjects, given the common risk factors associated with a complex process of chronic diseases developing in the aging process. COPD-CHF coexistence confers a marked negative impact on mechanical-ventilatory, cardiocirculatory, autonomic, gas exchange, muscular, ventilatory, and cerebral blood flow, further impairing the reduced exercise capacity and health status of either condition alone. In this context, integrated approach to the cardiopulmonary based on pharmacological optimization and non-pharmacological treatment (i.e., exercise-based cardiopulmonary and metabolic rehabilitation) can be emphatically encouraged by health professionals as they are safe and well-tolerated, reducing hospital readmissions, morbidity, and mortality. This review aims to explore aerobic exercise, the cornerstone of cardiopulmonary and metabolic rehabilitation, resistance and inspiratory muscle training and exercise-based rehabilitation delivery models in patients with COPD-CHF multimorbidities across the continuum of the disease. In addition, the review address the importance of adjuncts to enhance exercise capacity in these patients, which may be used to optimize the gains obtained in these programs.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to verify the association among obstructive sleep apnea, functional capacity, and metabolic control. METHODS This was a cross-sectional study involving individuals of both sexes with clinical diagnosis of diabetes mellitus type 2 who were above 18 years of age. The assessment consisted of a volunteer identification form, a 2-minute step test, and the Stop-Bang questionnaire. In order to assess metabolic control, HbA1c and fasting glucose data were collected from medical records. RESULTS A total of 100 individuals with diabetes mellitus type 2, of whom 61% were women, were included in this study. According to the Stop-Bang instrument, 26, 57, and 17% of patients had low, intermediate, and high risk of developing OSA, respectively. There was no association between the 2-minute step test and metabolic variables and diabetes mellitus type 2 chronicity with Stop-Bang. CONCLUSIONS We concluded that there is no association among obstructive sleep apnea measured by means of Stop-Bang instrument, functional capacity measured by means of 2-minute step test, and metabolic variables in individuals with diabetes mellitus type 2.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Musicians and dancers can be considered an at-risk population for developing noise-induced hearing loss. OBJECTIVES To determine the audiological profile of members of a folklore-related music group and quantify noise exposure at their rehearsal venue. METHODS This was a quantitative and descriptive study. The musicians and dancers were evaluated in two stages: an interview about their working life, followed by high frequency tonal audiometry. The sound pressure level in the group's rehearsal venue was measured using a BEK 2270 Noise Analyzer. RESULTS A total of 7.2% of the subjects had noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and 39% of the audiometric tests were notch type. During the interview 31.7% of the subjects mentioned discomfort from loud noise, although none of them used ear protection. The environmental assessment showed inadequate humidity and oscillating temperature. Twenty sound pressure level measurements were performed for Leq (equivalent sound pressure levels) and the results ranged from 88 dB (A) to 99 dB (A) with a mean of 97.05. CONCLUSIONS Exposure to high levels of sound pressure has led to NIHL in some members of the group. Some of those with normal hearing also presented a notch configuration characteristic of NIHL. Tinnitus, indicating that a change in hearing has occurred, was the most frequent auditory symptom.

Abstract
Objective The purpose of this study was to measure the reliability, internal consistency, construct validity, and floor and ceiling effects of the Brazilian version of the Self-Estimated Functional Inability Because of Pain Questionnaire for athletes (SEFIP-sport). Methods This was a validity questionnaire study developed in a university community. Athletes or practitioners of any sport undertaking regular practice (weekly frequency of at least twice a week for at least 6 months), with the ability to read and write in Brazilian Portuguese, were included. We evaluated disability by means of the SEFIP-sport and the Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire for general pain, pain intensity by means of a numerical rating scale, quality of life by means of the Short-Form Health Survey, and predicted disability by means of the Örebro Musculoskeletal Pain Questionnaire. Results Two hundred and twenty-one athletes or regular practitioners of sport were recruited and included in the study. We observed adequate values of reliability (κ ≥ 0.40, intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.91), internal consistency (Cronbach's α ≥ 0.81), and correlations (r s ≥ -0.376) of the total SEFIP-sport score with the numerical rating scale; the pain, vitality, and social aspects domains of the Short-Form Health Survey; the Roland-Morris questionnaire; and the Örebro Musculoskeletal Pain Questionnaire. Conclusion The Brazilian Portuguese version of the SEFIP-sport demonstrated adequate psychometric properties for use in athletes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Our objective was to perform the translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and validation of the Quality Care Questionnaire-Palliative Care (QCQ-PC) into Brazilian Portuguese for cancer patients in palliative care. The translation and cross-cultural adaptation comprised the following stages: translation, synthesis of translations, back-translation, analysis by a committee of experts, testing of the pre-final version, and definition of the final version. The evaluated measurement properties were: structural validity using factor analysis, test-retest reliability using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), internal consistency using Cronbach's alpha, and construct validity using the correlations between the QCQ-PC and other questionnaires already validated in Brazil. RESULTS Two hundred and twenty-five cancer patients were included for validity analyses, and a subsample of 30 patients was used for test-retest reliability. The most adequate fit indexes were for the short version of the QCQ-PC (SF-QCQ-PC), with two domains and 12 items. There was adequate reliability and internal consistency, with values of the ICC ≥ 0.83 and Cronbach's alpha ≥0.82. There were correlations > 0.30 between the SF-QCQ-PC and the Karnofsky Performance Scale, the Palliative Prognostic Index, the sadness domain of the Edmonton Symptom Assessment System, the Barthel Index, and all domains related to the McGill Quality of Life Questionnaire and the European Organization for Research in the Treatment of Cancer Questionnaire-core. CONCLUSION The short version of the SF-QCQ-PC has acceptable psychometric properties for use in Brazil.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Physical inactivity in hemodialysis patients is associated with increased mortality. The objective of this study was evaluated the effect of an intradialytic resistance exercise program on chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients on hemodialysis. METHODS One hundred seven patients were included in the study. They were aged 18-60 years, of both sexes, had undergone hemodialysis treatment for at least 1 year, sedentary. Patients were randomly divided into two groups: stretching (STG) and resistance exercise (REG). Intervention programs were performed for 8 weeks, three times a week. The evaluations were performed before and after the training programs. The primary outcome was functional capacity using the 6-minute walk test (6MWT). Secondary outcomes were peripheral muscle strength, respiratory muscle strength, spirometric respiratory function, and laboratory data. FINDINGS Comparisons between groups revealed the following clinically relevant results in favor of REG: lower limb muscle strength (mean difference [MD] = -1.99, 95% confidence interval [CI] = -2.77 to -1.21; d = -0.53), distance walked in the 6MWT (MD = -26.27, 95% CI = -45.40 to -7.14; d = -0.46), creatinine (MD = -1.52, 95% CI = -2.49 to -0.54; d = -0.66), and calcium (MD = -0.44, 95% CI = -0.78 to -0.10; d = -0.49). DISCUSSION CKD patients on hemodialysis have reduced functional capacity compared to healthy sedentary individuals. In turn, this reduction appears to be associated with a lower survival rate and affects the performance of their daily living activities. Thus, resistance exercise performed in the intradialytic phase is an effective therapeutic strategy for CKD patients, mainly because it increases functional capacity and lower limb muscle strength.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Stroke is the principal cause of disability around the world and the ensuing functional dependence (FD) can be correlated with different factors. OBJECTIVE To determine how demographic factors and clinical characteristics after stroke distinguish patients who achieve functional independence from those who do not. DESIGN AND SETTING Observational study at specialized neurovascular clinic in Alagoas, Brazil. METHODS FD was classified according to the modified Rankin scale (mRs): 0 to 2 points were classified as independent (FD-), and 3 to 5 points were classified as dependent (FD+). Logistic regression analysis included age, sedentary lifestyle, the Center for Epidemiological Studies - Depression Scale (CES-D) and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). The Mann-Whitney test and χ2 test were used to compare groups. RESULTS We included 190 stroke patients with a mean age of 60.02 ± 14.22 years. We found that 34.8% of the patients were classified as FD+. Lower NIHSS and CES-D scores were more associated with achieving functional independence. Most of the patients had access to physical therapy, and the mean duration of rehabilitation therapy was 65.2 minutes per week. Females had higher prevalence of depressive symptoms (P = 0.005) and rehabilitation time was shorter for hemorrhagic stroke (P = 0.02). CONCLUSION We found a FD rate four times greater than in another Brazilian study. Lower stroke severity and fewer depressive symptoms were associated with achieving functional independence. Less than half of the patients were referred to a rehabilitation service at hospital discharge and few had access to multidisciplinary treatment.

Abstract
Objective We sought to correlate habitual physical activity with central sensitization, pain intensity, kinesiophobia, catastrophizing, and the severity of chronic myogenous temporomandibular disorder (TMD). Methods This was an observational study. Fifty-five individuals, male and female, aged 18 to 45 years, with pain for at least 3 months (chronic) related to myogenous TMD were included in the study. Myogenous TMD was evaluated by means of the Numerical Rating Scale, Catastrophic Thoughts on Pain Scale, Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia, Fonseca Anamnestic Index, Central Sensitization Inventory, and habitual physical activity by means of the Baecke Questionnaire (BQ). The Spearman correlation coefficient (r s) was applied to verify the association of the BQ score with the pain variables. Results No significant correlations (P > .05) were observed in the total or mean BQ scores (both r s = -0.17 to -0.04), nor in the analyses performed on the occupational (r s = -0.03 to 0.14), sport (r s = -0.16 to 0.01), and leisure domains (r s = -0.16 to -0.02). Conclusion Habitual physical activity as measured by the BQ is not associated with pain intensity, catastrophizing, kinesiophobia, central sensitization, or the severity of chronic myogenous TMD.

Abstract
Objective To measure the intra- and interrater reliability of the seated single-arm shot-put test (SSPT) in the functional performance of the upper limbs of regular physical exercise practitioners with shoulder pain. Methods This is a reliability study. Thirty individuals regularly practicing any sports modality that uses the upper limb effectively for at least 6 months, both sexes, ages between 18 and 30 years, with chronic shoulder pain were included. Chronic shoulder pain was measured by means of the shoulder pain and disability index, numerical rating scale, and catastrophic thoughts about pain scale. Functional performance of the upper limbs was measured by means of SSPT. Results Excellent intrarater reliability was found, with intraclass correlation coefficient ≥0.93, standard error of the measurement values ≤4.63%, and minimum detectable change values for absolute and normalized score of 45.11 cm and 9.97, respectively. Excellent interrater reliability was found, with intraclass correlation coefficient ≥0.96, standard error of the measurement values ≤3.55%, and minimum detectable change values for absolute and normalized score of 32.29 cm and 7.70, respectively. Conclusion SSPT is a reliable tool for measuring the functional performance of the upper limbs in regular exercise practitioners with chronic shoulder pain.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The original structure of the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) has been contested in several languages. OBJECTIVE To assess the structural validity of the Brazilian version of WOMAC among patients with knee osteoarthritis. DESIGN AND SETTING Structural validity study conducted at physiotherapy clinics and primary healthcare units. METHODS The study included males and females aged 40 to 80 years who were all native Brazilian Portuguese speakers, with knee pain in the previous six months and a diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis. We used exploratory factor analysis (EFA) followed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with implementation of a polychoric matrix and the robust diagonally weighted least squares (RDWLS) extraction method. The adequacy of the model was assessed using the following fit indices: root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA), comparative fit index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis index (TLI), standardized root mean square residual (SRMR) and chi-square/degree of freedom (DF). RESULTS 203 patients with knee osteoarthritis were included. The model proposed in this study with two factors, i.e. "pain" (items 1, 2, 3 and 4) and "physical function" (items 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21 and 22), showed adequate fit indices in CFA: chi-square/DF = 1.30; CFI = 0.976; TLI = 0.970; RMSEA = 0.039; and SRMR = 0.070. The factorial loads ranged from 0.68 to 0.76 for the "pain" domain and 0.44 to 0.62 for the "physical function" domain. CONCLUSION The Brazilian version of WOMAC with two domains, i.e. "pain" (four items) and "physical function" (eight items), presents the best structure.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Our study aimed to perform the face and content validity of Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain (SEFIP) for workers, here called the SEFIP-work questionnaire. This is a questionnaire validity study. Our group previously translated and adapted the original version of the SEFIP, which was developed to investigate musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction to be applied to dancers (SEFIP-dance). However, due to the broad scope of the SEFIP-dance, we made changes and adaptations in the Brazilian Portuguese version of the SEFIP-dance to allow its use in workers. Therefore, face and content validity were performed for the development of the SEFIP-work based on opinions of committee of occupational disease and rehabilitation experts. After face and content validity, this SEFIP-work version was applied to 30 working individuals with musculoskeletal pain. The participants were native Brazilian Portuguese speakers aged 18 years and older. Thus, three changes were made to the questionnaire. All participants understood the SEFIP-work items and alternatives. The average total SEFIP-work score was 6.59 (SD=3.66), with the item “parte inferior das costas” (lower back) being the most marked (n=28; 93.33%), with an average score of 1.18 (SD=0.73). In conclusion, the Brazilian Portuguese version of SEFIP-work presents an acceptable level of understanding by workers in the investigation of musculoskeletal pain or discomfort.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The Finnish Diabetes Risk Score (FINDRISC) is a questionnaire that was developed by Finnish researchers to track the risk of diabetes. OBJECTIVE To translate, cross-culturally adapt and validate the FINDRISC for use in Brazilian Portuguese. DESIGN AND SETTING Questionnaire validity study conducted at a private university. METHODS The Brazilian version of the FINDRISC was developed through the processes of translation, back-translation, committee review and pre-testing. Test-retest reliability was measured using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), kappa coefficient, standard error of measurement (SEM) and minimum detectable change (MDC). Internal consistency was measured using Cronbach's alpha. For construct validity, the total score of the FINDRISC was correlated with the Diabetes Knowledge Scale (DKN-A) and Diabetes Mellitus Risk Questionnaire (QRDM). Ceiling and floor effects were also evaluated in the present study. RESULTS For construct validity and floor and ceiling effect measurements, a total sample of 107 participants was used. For reliability, a subsample of 51 participants out of the total sample was used. We identified adequate values for reliability (kappa ≥ 0.79 and ICC = 0.98) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.84). Regarding the error inherent in the FINDRISC, we found SEM = 8.02% and MDC = 22.44%. There were significant correlations between the FINDRISC and the QRDM (r = 0.686) and DKN-A (r = -0.216). No ceiling or floor effects were found. CONCLUSION The Brazilian version of the FINDRISC has adequate psychometric properties that are in accordance with the best international recommendations.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Self-Estimated Functional Inability because of Pain (SEFIP) is a questionnaire specifically designed to measure musculoskeletal pain or discomfort. OBJECTIVE To perform translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the SEFIP for dancers (SEFIP-dance), for use in Brazilian Portuguese. In addition, as a secondary objective, we adapted the translated version of SEFIP-dance for use among athletes or exercise practitioners (SEFIP-sport). DESIGN AND SETTING Questionnaire translation and cross-cultural adaptation study conducted at a public university. METHODS The Brazilian version of the SEFIP-dance questionnaire was developed following the processes of translation (involving two translators with Brazilian Portuguese as their mother tongue and fluency in English), backtranslation (involving two translators with English as their mother tongue and fluency in Brazilian Portuguese), committee review and pre-testing. SEFIP-sport was developed following the processes of content and face validation. RESULTS SEFIP-dance was applied to 30 dancers, of mean age 22.38 years (standard deviation [SD] = 3.41), among whom 14 were men (46.66%). The participants understood 100% of the SEFIP-dance items and alternatives. SEFIP-sport was applied to 30 athletes or physical exercise practitioners, of mean age 25.09 years (SD = 8.93), among whom 25 were men (86.33%). The participants understood 100% of the -SEFIP-sport items and alternatives. CONCLUSION The Brazilian Portuguese versions of SEFIP-dance, translated and cross-culturally adapted for dancers, and SEFIP-sport, adapted for athletes or physical exercise practitioners, were shown to have adequate levels of understanding.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Circulatory (CP) and ventilatory power (VP) have been used to improve the prognostic accuracy of cardiopulmonary exercise tests in cardiovascular disease, such as coronary artery disease. However, the effects of combined resistance and aerobic exercise program on VP and CP, especially in type 2 diabetes patients, have not been adequately investigated. Thus, this new parameter can be useful to prescribe exercise programs more assertive for this population. The present study aimed to assess the effect of 3 months of combined resistance and aerobic exercise training (CET) on CP and VP in patients with type 2 diabetes. METHODS A randomized controlled trial was conducted involving 48 diabetic patients with an average age of 52.4 (±8.01) years old. The subjects were randomized into two groups: sedentary (SG, n = 15) and the CET group (n = 19). Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (symptom-limited incremental) was performed on a cycle ergometer, and the following parameters were measured: relative VO2 , VE /VCO2 slope, linear relationship between oxygen uptake and minute ventilation, and VCO2 . CET was performed with 30-min aerobic and 30-min resistance exercises three times a week for 12 weeks. RESULTS Significant (p < .05) and clinical (d ≥ .80) differences were observed that favoured CET compared with SG for the following variables: heart rate, workload, VO2 relative peak, circulatory power peak, and VCO2 peak. Although no statistical difference was observed for ventilatory power, there was a clinical difference (p > .05 and d ≥ 0.80) that favoured CET. CONCLUSION Three months of combined exercise training improved VP and CP indices in patients with type 2 diabetes when compared with a sedentary group.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study is to investigate the association between muscle function, body composition, and metabolic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2). METHODS Forty-eight individuals with DM2 were divided into four groups according to the severity of obesity (body mass index [BMI]: lean [LN, n = 10], overweight [OW, n = 16], obese class I [OBI, n = 15], and obese class II [OBII, n = 7]). Absolute peak torque (TQ), relative peak torque (TQ/body weight [BW]), total work (TW), and fatigue index (FI) were assessed by means of an isokinetic dynamometer during concentric knee extensor contraction. Spearman's correlation coefficients were used to estimate the association between measurements. RESULTS Although OBII had higher insulin levels than both LN and OW groups, no significant differences were found between groups for TQ, TQ/BW, TW, and FI, as well as between metabolic variables and muscle measurements. There was a positive correlation between BMI and TQ (rs = .45) and resistance tests, between BMI and TQ (rs = .43), and TW (rs = .37). CONCLUSION Metabolic variables do not correlate with muscle strength and endurance in DM2. However, severity of obesity measured by the BMI is positively associated with muscle force-generating capacity and endurance.
