Abstract
BACKGROUND Hyper- and hypotension increase the risk of cognitive dysfunction. As effective control of blood pressure can reduce the risk of mild cognitive impairment (MCI), early risk assessment is necessary to identify MCI in senile hypertension as soon as possible and reduce the risk of developing dementia. No perfect risk-prediction model or nomogram has been developed to evaluate the risk of MCI in older adults with hypertension. We aimed to develop a nomogram model for predicting MCI in older patients with hypertension. METHODS We selected 345 older patients with hypertension in Xixiangtang District, Nanning City, as the modeling group and divided into the MCI (n = 197) and non-MCI groups (n = 148). Comparing the general conditions, lifestyle, disease factors, psychosocial and other indicators. Logistic regression was used to analyze risk factors for MCI in older hypertensive patients, and R Programming Language was used to draw the nomogram. We selected 146 older patients with hypertension in Qingxiu District, Nanning City, as the verification group. The effectiveness and discrimination ability of the nomogram was evaluated through internal and external verification. RESULTS Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified 11 factors, including hypertension grade, education level, complicated diabetes, hypertension years, stress history, smoking, physical exercise, reading, social support, sleep disorders, and medication compliance, as risk factors for MCI in older patients with hypertension. To develop a nomogram model, the validity of the prediction model was evaluated by fitting the curve, which revealed a good fit for both the modeling (P = 0.98) and verification groups (P = 0.96). The discrimination of the nomogram model was evaluated in the modeling group using a receiver operating characteristic curve. The area under the curve was 0.795, and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test yielded P = 0.703. In the validation group, the area under the curve was 0.765, and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test yielded P = 0.234. CONCLUSIONS We developed a nomogram to help clinicians identify high-risk groups for MCI among older patients with hypertension. This model demonstrated good discrimination and validity, providing a scientific basis for community medical staff to evaluate and identify the risk of MCI in these patients at an early stage.

Abstract
The application of heteroatom-doped graphene for photochemical and electrochemical reactions is primarily hindered by the lack of a controllable and facile synthesis strategy. In this work, few-layer CoN-graphene (1.8 nm thickness) with atomic Co has been fabricated via pyrolysis exfoliation. The half wave potential of CoN-graphene reaches 0.875 V vs. RHE, and the corresponding direct methanol fuel cell performance is 100% (higher than that of the commercial Pt/C catalyst), demonstrating potential for practical application in energy conversion devices.

Abstract
Afforestation and reforestation (A&R) are nature-based and cost-effective solutions for enhancing terrestrial carbon sinks and facilitating faster carbon neutrality. However, the lack of hierarchical spatial-temporal maps for the carbon sequestration rate (CSR) from A&R at the national scale impedes the scientific implementation of forest management planning to a large extent. Here, we assessed the spatial-temporal CSR per area for A&R at the provincial, prefectural, and county levels in China using a forest carbon sequestration model under three climate scenarios. Results showed that the CSR of vegetation (CSRVeg), soil (CSRSoil), and the ecosystem (CSREco) significantly varied across space and time. In China, the CSRVeg, CSRSoil, and CSREco were primarily regulated by the spatial variations in temperature and precipitation. Additionally, CSRVeg was found to be positively influenced by precipitation and temperature, whereas temperature had a negative influence on CSRSoil. Therefore, the differences between the CSRVeg and CSRSoil should be emphasized in the future. These information on the spatiotemporal variation of CSR of A&R (vegetation, soil, and ecosystem) on unit area basis and at levels of province, prefecture, and county in China, can be used as a comparable protocol to estimate the carbon sinks of A&R at different scales. Overall, these hierarchical spatiotemporal maps for CSR on A&R may help to identify priority areas of forest management planning and carbon trade policy to achieve faster carbon neutrality for China in the future.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the main chemical constituents of Balanophora involucrata and the mechanism of its antiinflammatory effect based on network pharmacology and molecular docking technology. METHODS Literature reports, Materia Medica, GeneCards and other databases were searched for anti-inflammatory compounds and their targets. String database and Cytoscape 3.7.2 software were used to obtain the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network and the drug-active ingredienttargets network and for GO and KEGG enrichment analyses. Molecular docking was performed using Auto Dock Tools 1.5.6. In an inflammatory RAW264.7 cell model induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS), the effect of 25, 50, 100, 200 μg/mL Balanophora involucrata extract was tested on the production of inflammatory cytokines and phosphorylation level of PI3K and Akt using ELISA and Western blotting. RESULTS A total of 318 common targets of drugs and diseases were identified, and the core targets were Src, HSP90AA1 and PIK3CA, involving cancer, PI3K/Akt, MAPK and other signaling pathways as shown by KEGG analysis. Molecular docking showed that both the main active constituents of Balanophora involucrata could spontaneously bind to the core targets. In the inflammatory cell model, treatment with Balanophora involucrata extract significantly inhibited the production of IL-1β at the concentrations of 100 and 200 μg/mL, reduced IL-6 and TNF-α expressions at the concentrations of 50, 100, and 200 μg/mL, and lowered phosphorylation levels of PI3K and Akt proteins at the concentrations of 25, 50, 100, and 200 μg/mL (all P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS The anti-inflammatory mechanism of Balanophora involucrata involves multiple targets and multiple pathways, and its effect is mediated possibly by reducing IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α production and inhibiting phosphorylation levels of PI3K and Akt proteins to suppress the activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.

Abstract
The complexity, diversity, and heterogeneity of malignant tumors pose a formidable challenge for antitumor therapy. To achieve the goal of significantly enhancing the antitumor effect, nanomedicine-based synergistic therapy is one of the important strategies. Herein, we innovatively report a defect-rich glassy IrTe2 (G-IrTe2) with weak Ir-Te bond strength for synergistic sonodynamic therapy (SDT), chemodynamic therapy (CDT), and mild photothermal therapy (PTT). G-IrTe2 sonosensitizer under ultrasound (US) stimuli exhibits excellent reactive oxygen species (ROS) production performance. Besides, catalase (CAT)-like activity of G-IrTe2 can provide abundant oxygen to enhance the SDT effect. Then, the theoretical calculation verifies that US stimuli can easily make the irregular Ir-Te bond to be broken in amorphous IrTe2 and free electrons will be released to combine with the oxygen and further form singlet oxygen (1O2). Meanwhile, G-IrTe2 with peroxidase (POD)-like activity can also catalyze endogenous H2O2 to produce more ROS for chemodynamic therapy (CDT), which is conducive to better tumor ablation. Furthermore, the ROS produced by sono-/chemodynamic processes can cause mitochondrial dysfunction and further give rise to heat shock protein (HSP) downregulated expression, maximizing the efficiency of mild PTT. Therefore, such glassy IrTe2 with rich defect could be significantly involved in synergistic oncotherapy and then effectively achieve outstanding antitumor efficacy. This study provides a new research idea for expanding the application of inorganic glassy nanomaterials in promoting the therapeutic effect of tumors.

Abstract
Tourism-related carbon emission efficiency is an important indicator that reflects the sustainable development of tourism and can better balance the relationship between negative environmental impact and economic value. According to panel data of 30 provincial regions, "the tourism value added coefficient" (not including the Tibet Autonomous Region) in mainland China from 2000 to 2019, we estimate the tourism of each provincial administrative unit carbon emissions, measure the tourism carbon efficiency value, and analyze the measurement results of the change trend, spatial differentiation characteristics, and influencing factors. The results show that (1) the carbon emission efficiency of regional tourism in China increased significantly from 2000 to 2019, but there was a significant difference in the carbon emission efficiency of tourism among regions, and the sustainable development level of regional tourism was still unbalanced. (2) The spatial pattern of provincial administrative units in China has the adjacent characteristics of High-High agglomeration and Low-Low agglomeration, the difference in the tourism eco-efficiency development level among regions gradually decreases with time, and there is a dynamic convergence characteristic. (3) The q value represents the intensity of the impact factor on tourism carbon emission efficiency. According to the q value, the factors affecting tourism carbon emission efficiency were divided into dominant factors (0.5 ≤ q ≤ 1), inducing factors (0.2 ≤ q < 0.5) and driving factors (0 ≤ q < 0.2), among which the level of technological development was the dominant factor. The level of opening-up to the outside world is the inducing factor; environmental regulation intensity, urbanization level, regional economic development level, tourism industry environment, and tourism infrastructure are the driving factors. (4) The influence degree of influencing factors on the spatial differentiation of tourism carbon emission efficiency is significantly different in different periods. The degree of influence of the urbanization level and tourism industry environment shows an upward trend over time, and the influence degree of other factors shows a "V-shaped" trend. (5) The two-factor interaction will significantly enhance the spatial differentiation of regional tourism carbon emission efficiency, and the interaction between the level of scientific and technological innovation and other influencing factors has a deeper impact on tourism carbon emission efficiency.

Abstract
The present study primarily aims to examine the mediating role of core self-evaluation and the moderating role of personal growth initiative (PGI) in the relationship between upward social comparison and senior high school students' depression and to explore the gender difference in this association. A total of 721 Chinese senior high school students (61.16% boys; M = 16.21 years, SD = 1.07) completed measures of upward social comparison, core self-evaluation, personal growth initiative, and depression. Results showed a significant positive correlation between upward social comparison and depression. Core self-evaluation partially mediated this association, and a gender difference in the indirect effect was revealed; that is, the effect was shown to be stronger for girls than for boys. Moreover, for boys, the mediating effect of core self-evaluation was moderated by PGI, and the effect was more potent for individuals with high PGI than for those with low PGI. However, no moderating effect of PGI on the indirect effect was found for girls. These findings suggest that prevention and interventions focusing on reducing upward social comparison and enhancing core self-evaluation may alleviate adolescents' depression symptoms and that more attention should be given to girls with low core self-evaluation and boys with high PGI.

Abstract
AIM To investigate the diagnostic performance of the radiomics features of pericoronary adipose tissue (PCAT) in determining haemodynamically significant coronary artery stenosis as evaluated by fractional flow reserve (FFR). MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 92 patients with clinically suspected coronary artery disease who underwent coronary computed tomography (CT) angiography (CCTA), invasive coronary angiography (ICA), and FFR examination within 1 month were included retrospectively, and 121 lesions were randomly assigned to the training and testing set. Based on manual segmentation of PCAT, 1,116 radiomics features were computed. After radiomics robustness assessment and feature selection, radiomics models were established using the different machine-learning algorithms. The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) and net reclassification index (NRI) were analysed to compare the discrimination and reclassification abilities of radiomics models. RESULTS Two radiomics features were selected after exclusions, and both were significantly higher in coronary arteries with FFR ≤0.8 than those with FFR >0.8. ROC analysis showed that the combination of CCTA and decision tree radiomics model achieved significantly higher diagnostic performance (AUC: 0.812) than CCTA alone (AUC: 0.599, p=0.015). Furthermore, the NRI of the combined model was 0.820 and 0.775 in the training and testing sets, respectively, suggesting the radiomics features of PCAT had were effective in classifying the haemodynamic significance of coronary stenosis. CONCLUSIONS Adding PCAT radiomics features to CCTA enabled identification of haemodynamically significant coronary artery stenosis.

Abstract
The anti-metastasis effect of oridonin in combination with oxaliplatin on colorectal cancer liver metastasis was studied using a BALB/c nude mouse model. The liver condition, bloody ascites, cholestasis, and liver metastasis scores in the three groups receiving oxaliplatin combined with oridonin were significantly milder than in the control group and importantly the anti-migratory effect of oxaliplatin combined with oridonin was obviously the strongest (p<0.05). Oridonin possessed no hepatotoxicity; instead, it effectively alleviated liver injury caused by oxaliplatin. Oridonin alone or in combination with oxaliplatin significantly decreased serum levels of α-fetoprotein and carcinoembryonic antigen. Therefore, oridonin combined with oxaliplatin displays great potential to markedly increase the anti-metastasis effect of oxaliplatin in the treatment of liver metastases of colorectal cancer.

Abstract
Despite bismuth-based energy conversion nanomaterials having attracted extensive attention for nanomedicine, the nanomaterials suffer from major shortcomings including low tumor accumulation, long internal retention time, and undesirable photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE). To combat these challenges, bovine serum albumin and folic acid co-modified Bi2Se3 nanomedicine with rich selenium vacancies (abbreviated as VSe-BS) was fabricated for the second near-infrared (NIR-II) light-triggered photonic hyperthermia. More importantly, selenium vacancies on the crystal planes (0 1 5) and (0 1 11) of VSe-BS with similar formation energies could be distinctively observed via aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy images. The defect engineering endows VSe-BS with enhanced conductivity, making VSe-BS possess outstanding PCE (54.1%) in the NIR-II biowindow and desirable photoacoustic imaging performance. Tumor ablation studies indicate that VSe-BS possesses satisfactory therapeutic outcomes triggered by NIR-II light. These findings give rise to inspiration for further broadening the biological applications of defect engineering bismuth-based nanomaterials.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To study the changes of metabolites in serum and tissues (kidney, liver and heart) of mice died of acute tetracaine poisoning by metabolomics, to search for potential biomarkers and related metabolic pathways, and to provide new ideas for the identification of cause of death and research on toxicological mechanism of acute tetracaine poisoning. Methods Forty ICR mice were randomly divided into control group and acute tetracaine poisoning death group. The model of death from acute poisoning was established by intraperitoneal injection of tetracaine, and the metabolic profile of serum and tissues of mice was obtained by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-electrostatic field orbitrap high resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-Orbitrap HRMS). Multivariate statistical principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least square-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) were used, combined with t-test and fold change to identify the differential metabolites associated with death from acute tetracaine poisoning. Results Compared with the control group, the metabolic profiles of serum and tissues in the mice from acute tetracaine poisoning death group were significantly different. Eleven differential metabolites were identified in serum, including xanthine, spermine, 3-hydroxybutylamine, etc.; twenty-five differential metabolites were identified in liver, including adenylate, adenosine, citric acid, etc.; twelve differential metabolites were identified in heart, including hypoxanthine, guanine, guanosine, etc; four differential metabolites were identified in kidney, including taurochenodeoxycholic acid, 11, 12-epoxyeicosatrienoic acid, dimethylethanolamine and indole. Acute tetracaine poisoning mainly affected purine metabolism, tricarboxylic acid cycle, as well as metabolism of alanine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid. Conclusion The differential metabolites in serum and tissues of mice died of acute tetracaine poisoning are expected to be candidate biomarkers for this cause of death. The results can provide research basis for the mechanism and identification of acute tetracaine poisoning.

Abstract
A theranostic nanoagent exhibits great promise to improve diagnostic accuracy and therapy efficacy. Herein, a kind of theranostic nanoagent based on poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP)-protected ultrasmall Cu1.2O nanoparticles (Cu1.2O NPs) is developed by a facile liquid reduction method. Attributed to high near-infrared absorbance and good biocompatibility, Cu1.2O NPs have shown significant potential for photothermal therapy. Moreover, Cu1.2O NPs with a satisfactory T1 relaxivity coefficient (r1) can be well applied as outstanding MRI contrast agents and exhibit excellent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) ability. In vivo treatments further demonstrate that Cu1.2O NPs could be well used as multifunctional theranostic nanoagents, which achieve precise MRI and a high photothermal antitumor effect. It is expected to further promote the research and application of copper-based nanoparticles as theranostic nanoagents for cancer therapy.

Abstract
Near-infrared (NIR) light-triggered hyperthermia has exhibited promising prospects in oncology therapy due to the unique merits including minimal invasiveness, monitorable, excellent therapeutic effect, and negligible side effects. Especially, the second NIR biowindow (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm) with less absorbance and scattering by skin tissue, and deep tissue penetration, has received extensive attention for photonic hyperthermia. Unfortunately, the dissatisfactory photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE) and cumbersome preparation process of photo-driven heat conversion nanomaterials seriously hamper the future clinical application. To combat the aforementioned challenges, high imaging performance and desired therapeutic outcome 1D nanorods are constructed based on gadolinium-integrated tellurium nanorods (Te-Gd). In this system, magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and X-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging-guided photonic hyperthermia can be easily implemented in cooperation with Te-Gd. Importantly, Te-Gd possesses high PCE (41%) in the NIR-II biowindow because the transition of the excited electron can easily occur from the valence band (VB) to the conduction band (CB) on (1 0 1) and (1 0 2) crystal planes. Furthermore, the distinctive photostability, high tumor accumulation, as well as low systemic adverse effects of Te-Gd guarantee the potential in the clinic.

Abstract
Objective To study the influence of halogenated hydroxyl-alkanes inhalation anesthetic on the determination of ethanol content in blood. Methods Halogenated hydroxyl-alkanes were analyzed by headspace gas chromatography with double column confirmatory detection method. The influence of halogenated hydroxyl-alkanes on determination of ethanol content in blood sample by headspace gas chromatography was explored under the different detection conditions of KB-BAC1/ KB-BAC2 and J&W DB-ALC1/DB-ALC2 gas chromatographic column. Results The retention time of sevoflurane and enflurane was similar to that of ethanol and tert butanol respectively when using the J&W DB-ALC1/DB-ALC2 gas chromatographic column, and interfered with the detection of ethanol content in blood; only J&W DB-ALC1 gas chromatographic column can separate the sevoflurane and ethanol components, so as to eliminate their influence on the detection of ethanol content in blood. When using KB-BAC1/KB-BAC2 gas chromatographic column, the retention time of sevoflurane, isoflurane and ethanol is similar, especially that of sevoflurane and ethanol, and sevoflurane obviously interferes with the determination of ethanol content in blood. Conclusion Halogenated hydroxy-alkanes interfere with determination of ethanol content in blood by headspace gas chromatography. The interference can be discriminated effectively by choosing the suitable chromatographic column and double column confirmatory detection.

Abstract
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE) is one of the most frequently occuring illnesses in children and adults worldwide. In February 2017, two AGE outbreaks occurred in two adjacent schools in Huzhou city, Zhenjiang province of China. We detected high percentages of recombinant norovirus GII.P16/GII.2 in one school and chicken anemia virus (CAV) in another school using next generation sequencing (NGS) and specific PCR. The results highlight the importance of continuous surveillance of GII.P16/GII.2, and suggest the need of further studies on whether CAV causes AGE. Abstract
Abstract Objective To apply Demirjian's and Cameriere's method for dental age estimation of adolescents from Hunan Han nationality, and compare the accuracy of the two methods. Methods A total of 480 orthopantomograms of?8-16 year?old adolescents from Hunan Han nationality?with no special diseases and good nutritional status were collected?by Xiangya Stomatological Hospital of Central South University from January, 2016 to July, 2017, among them 236 males and 244 females. The dental age of each adolescent was determined by Demirjian's method and Cameriere's method, respectively, and the paired t-test of the estimated dental age and the chronological age determined by the two methods was conducted by SPSS 20.0 software to compare the difference between estimated dental age and chronological age. Results Mean chronological age of males and females was 11.91 and 11.88 years, respectively. The estimated dental age determined by Demirjian's method showed an underestimate of chronological age by an average of 0.11 years (males) and 0.15 years (females), while the estimated dental age determined by Cameriere's method showed an underestimate of chronological age by an average of 0.83 years (males) and 0.72 years (females). Conclusion Demirjian's method is more accurate than Cameriere's method in dental age estimation of adolescents from Hunan Han nationality, therefore more suitable for dental age estimation of adolescents in this region.

Abstract
Polyvinylpyrrolidone-modified CuS nanocrystals (CuS NCs) with high photothermal conversion efficiency (46%) and pH and near-infrared (NIR) light-triggered degradation properties are a promising nanotheranostic platform for in situ magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided synergistic photothermal and photodynamic therapy. On the one hand, the (102) surface of CuS NCs has a small bandgap based on density functional theory, which leads to high photothermal conversion efficiency. On the other hand, the S vacancy formation energy of the (102) surface is favourable. On entry into tumor cells through endocytosis, the S2- ions on the (102) surface of CuS NCs can be easily oxidized under the tumor microenvironment and 808 nm laser irradiation; then, a large amount of Cu+ ions can be released from CuS NCs and accelerate the degradation of nanocrystals. Cu+ ions can generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) under the tumor microenvironment and 808 nm laser irradiation. Meanwhile, the oxidation product Cu2+ ions can be generated from the oxidized Cu+ ions and applied for in situ T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. Moreover, the biodegradable CuS NCs possess a high tumor uptake and can be rapidly excreted with a low long-term retention/toxicity. Therefore, degradable and multifunctional CuS NCs are a safe and efficient candidate for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To develop a method to screen and quantify 10 common herbicides (paraquat, diquat, glyphosate, glufosinate, cyanazine, atrazine, metazachlor, acetochlor, chlorsulfuron, and metsulfuron) in blood. METHODS With acetonitrile-water solution [V(acetonitrile)∶V(water)=3∶1] as protein precipitant, 10 common herbicides in blood were detected using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-HRMS). RESULTS All the 10 herbicides had good linearity in their linear range (coefficient of determination R2≥0.993), with the recovery rates 67.4%-111.9%, the relative standard deviations 1.5%-10.8%, the accuracies 85.1%-106.1%, intra-day precisions 2.7%-13.5%, and inter-day precisions 3.3%-13.3%. CONCLUSIONS This method is easy to operate with high recovery rates. It enables rapid and accurate qualitative screening and quantitative analysis of various herbicides in blood simultaneously.

Abstract
Suppressor of cytokine signalling (SOCS) proteins are crucial negative regulators in many signalling pathways and are implicated in the pathogenesis of infectious diseases. The purpose of this study was to uncover possible associations of common polymorphisms within SOCS genes with infectious outcomes after traumatic injury. A total of 1087 trauma patients (Chongqing cohort 806 and Yunnan cohort 281) were recruited and followed-up for the development of infectious outcomes, such as sepsis and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). Twelve selected single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were screened by pyrosequencing to determine their genotypes and associations with infectious complications. Among the 12 selected SNPs, only the cytokine-inducible Src homology (SH2) domain protein (CISH) promoter rs414171 polymorphism was found consistently to be associated statistically with the incidence of sepsis and MOD score in the two cohorts, despite analysing the SNPs independently or in combination. Further, patients with a T allele had significantly lower CISH expression and lower production of tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α, but higher production of interleukin (IL)-10. Luciferase assay confirmed that the A→T variant in the rs414171 polymorphism inhibited the transcriptional activities of the CISH gene significantly. The CISH rs414171 polymorphism is associated significantly with susceptibility to sepsis and MODS in traumatic patients, which might prove to be a novel biomarker for indicating risk of infectious outcomes in critically injured patients.

Abstract
AIM To determine the diagnostic potential of transluminal attenuation gradients (TAG) with exclusion of stented coronary segments (TAG-ExS) and TAG-corrected contrast opacification (CCO) excluding stented coronary segments (TAG-CCO-ExS) for the assessment of in-stent restenosis (ISR). MATERIALS AND METHODS TAG-ExS and TAG-CCO-ExS were calculated in 93 coronary arteries with 190 stents. The diagnostic performances and the incremental values of the two metrics to coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) were analysed and compared. RESULTS For all stents and stents >3 mm in diameter, TAG-ExS and TAG-CCO-ExS were significantly lower in ≥50% than that in <50% of ISR (both p<0.05). For stent diameters ≤3 mm, significantly lower TAG-CCO-ExS (p=0.000), but not TAG-ExS (p=0.059), was found in ≥50% than in <50% of ISR. Addition of TAG-ExS or TAG-CCO-ExS to CCTA, did not improve the diagnostic accuracy of CCTA significantly (all p>0.05). Only TAG-CCO-ExS had a significant impact on CCTA for the reclassifications of ISR (p=0.046) in stent diameters ≤3 mm. CONCLUSIONS TAG-ExS and TAG-CCO-ExS did not provide incremental diagnostic value over CCTA in assessing ISR. TAG-CCO-ExS slightly enhanced the reclassifications of ISR for stents ≤3 mm in diameter.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the risk factors for metastasis of lymph nodes between sternocleidomastoid and sternohyoid muscle (LNSS) in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). Methods: Papillary thyroid cancer patients with clinically positive lateral lymph node metastasis (cN1) who underwent surgery including LNSS dissection between May 1, 2013 and May 31, 2016 at the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center were retrospectively studied. Logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate possible clinicopathological factors related to LNSS metastasis. Results: In 85 patients, 54 patients (63.5%) showed LNSS in their surgical specimen, and 20 patients (23.5%) had pathologically positive LNSS metastasis. Patients with LNSS showed preoperatively higher levels of serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO-Ab) compared to patients only with fibrofatty tissues between sternocleidomastoid and sternohyoid muscle (P<0.05), and they also displayed a higher proportion of multifocality in ipsilateral thyroid lobe (P<0.05). Multi-factor analysis indicated that LNSS metastasis was correlated with original tumor size (OR=1.819, 95%CI 1.050-3.850, P=0.002) and Level Ⅳ lymph node metastasis (OR=2.190, 95%CI 1.132-2.334, P=0.005). Furthermore, the number of positive LNSS was tightly correlated to that of level Ⅳ lymph node metastasis(P<0.05). Conclusion: LNSS metastasis is occult but not quite rare in PTC. Patients with extensive lymph node metastasis in Level Ⅳhave a higher risk for metastasis of LNSS.

Abstract
Forests store a large part of the terrestrial vegetation carbon (C) and have high C sequestration potential. Here, we developed a new forest C sequestration (FCS) model based on the secondary succession theory, to estimate vegetation C sequestration capacity in China's forest vegetation. The model used the field measurement data of 3161 forest plots and three future climate scenarios. The results showed that logistic equations provided a good fit for vegetation biomass with forest age in natural and planted forests. The FCS model has been verified with forest biomass data, and model uncertainty is discussed. The increment of vegetation C storage in China's forest vegetation from 2010 to 2050 was estimated as 13.92 Pg C, while the average vegetation C sequestration rate was 0.34 Pg C yr-1 with a 95% confidence interval of 0.28-0.42 Pg C yr-1 , which differed significantly between forest types. The largest contributor to the increment was deciduous broadleaf forest (37.8%), while the smallest was deciduous needleleaf forest (2.7%). The vegetation C sequestration rate might reach its maximum around 2020, although vegetation C storage increases continually. It is estimated that vegetation C sequestration might offset 6-8% of China's future emissions. Furthermore, there was a significant negative relationship between vegetation C sequestration rate and C emission rate in different provinces of China, suggesting that developed provinces might need to compensate for undeveloped provinces through C trade. Our findings will provide valuable guidelines to policymakers for designing afforestation strategies and forest C trade in China.

Abstract
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in young individuals worldwide. However, the understanding of TBI at secondary phase remained obscure, and more knowledge of the pathophysiology of TBI is necessary. In this study, we examined the influence of bone fracture (BF) on TBI and investigated whether blocking high mobility group 1 (HMGB1) protein, an inflammatory mediator, could be effective to alleviate TBI. We found neurological severity was significantly increased by BF at 4 days post-TBI with longer removal time of adhesive tape and higher percentage of left turn in the corner test compared to TBI treatment alone. Additionally, higher brain lesion volume and severer brain oedema in TBI + BF mice supports the negative effect of BF on TBI. HMGB1 level was significantly stimulated by BF, suggesting the important role of HMGB1 in the development of secondary TBI. Notably, ablation of HMGB1 significantly reduced this negative influence of BF on TBI. These results suggest that HMGB1 can be massively induced by the systemic immune activation triggered by BF, which in turn aggravates inflammation. Blocking HMGB1 reduced the inflammatory effect of BF and therefore helps lessen the severity of secondary TBI. In conclusion, these results provided the evidence that anti-HMGB1 may be an effective and feasible method to alleviate TBI.

Abstract
Carbon (C) storage for all the components, especially dead mass and soil organic carbon, was rarely reported and remained uncertainty in China's forest ecosystems. This study used field‐measured data published between 2004 and 2014 to estimate C storage by three forest type classifications and three spatial interpolations and assessed the uncertainty in C storage resulting from different integrative methods in China's forest ecosystems. The results showed that C storage in China's forest ecosystems ranged from 30.99 to 34.96 Pg C by the six integrative methods. We detected 5.0% variation (coefficient of variation, CV, %) among the six methods, which was influenced mainly by soil C estimates. Soil C density and storage in the 0–100 cm soil layer were estimated to be 136.11–153.16 Mg C·ha−1 and 20.63–23.21 Pg C, respectively. Dead mass C density and storage were estimated to be 3.66–5.41 Mg C·ha−1 and 0.68–0.82 Pg C, respectively. Mean C storage in China's forest ecosystems estimated by the six integrative methods was 8.557 Pg C (25.8%) for aboveground biomass, 1.950 Pg C (5.9%) for belowground biomass, 0.697 Pg C (2.1%) for dead mass, and 21.958 Pg C (66.2%) for soil organic C in the 0–100 cm soil layer. The R:S ratio was 0.23, and C storage in the soil was 2.1 times greater than in the vegetation. Carbon storage estimates with respect to forest type classification (38 forest subtypes) were closer to the average value than those calculated using the spatial interpolation methods. Variance among different methods and data sources may partially explain the high uncertainty of C storage detected by different studies. This study demonstrates the importance of using multimethodological approaches to estimate C storage accurately in the large‐scale forest ecosystems.

Abstract
Grazing exclusion (GE) has been deemed as an important approach to enhance the soil carbon storage of semiarid grasslands in China; however, it remains unclear how different organic carbon (OC) components in soils vary with the duration of GE. Here, we observed the changing trends of different OC components in soils with increased GE duration in five grassland succession series plots, ranging from free grazing to 31-year GE. Specifically, we measured microbial biomass carbon (MBC), easily oxidizable OC (EOC), water-soluble OC (WSOC), and OC in water stable aggregates (macroaggregates [250-2000 μm], microaggregates [53-250 μm], and mineral fraction [< 53 μm]) at 0-20 cm soil depths. The results showed that GE significantly enhanced EOC and WSOC contents in soils, but caused a decline of MBC at the three decade scale. Macroaggregate content (F = 425.8, P < 0.001), OC stored in macroaggregates (F = 84.1, P < 0.001), and the mean weight diameter (MWD) of soil aggregates (F = 371.3, P < 0.001) increased linearly with increasing GE duration. These findings indicate that OC stored in soil increases under three-decade GE with soil organic matter (SOM) stability improving to some extent. Long-term GE practices enhance the formation of soil aggregates through higher SOM input and an exclusion of animal trampling. Therefore, the practice of GE may be further encouraged to realize the soil carbon sequestration potential of semi-arid grasslands, China.

Abstract
Flexible polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) module based on graphene electrode was presented in this article. We also investigated electromechanical, as well as electro-optical properties of PDLC module with graphene electrodes. Compared to the ITO electrodes, graphene electrodes exhibits higher light transmittance and more stable electromechanical property of under bend test. Due to the excellent mechanical property of graphene electrodes, it is expected that the flexibility of PDLC module could be further enhanced. Meanwhile, with the integration of graphene as the driving electrodes, the threshold voltage V(th) and saturation voltage V(sat) of PDLC module have small change, while the on-state transmittance T(on) is increased by 5%, that may attribute to the high transmittance of the graphene.

Abstract
Some clusters of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) infection were reported in China as of 2010. However, to date, there has been no epidemiologic evidence of aerosol transmission of SFTSV. Epidemiologic investigations were conducted after a cluster of 13 cases of SFTSV in May 2014. A total of 13 cases, including 11 confirmed cases and one clinically diagnosed case, were identified besides the case of the index patient. The index patient experienced onset of SFTSV on 23 April and died on 1 May. The patients with secondary cases had onset from 10 to 16 May, peaking on 13 May. Moreover, eight secondary cases occurred in family members of the index patient, and the other five cases occurred in neighbors of the index patient. According to epidemiologic investigations, patients 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 12 contracted the disease through contact with blood of the index patient. Notably, patients 8 and 10 did not have a history of contact with the blood of the index patient, but they stayed in the mourning hall for hours. SFTSV could be transmitted from person to person by direct contact and/or aerosol transmission, and it is important to consider aerosol transmission as a possible transmission route.

Abstract
Atmospheric nitrogen (N) deposition is an important component of the global N cycle, and is a key source of biologically available N. Understanding the spatio-temporal patterns and influencing factors of N deposition is essential to evaluate its ecological effects on terrestrial ecosystems, and to provide a scientific basis for global change research. In this study, we monitored the monthly atmospheric N deposition in rainfall at 41 stations from the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network through measuring total N (TN), total dissolved N (TDN), ammonium (NH4+-N), and nitrate (NO3--N). The results showed that the atmospheric wet deposition of TDN, NH4+-N, and NO3--N were 13.69, 7.25, and 5.93 kg N ha(-1) yr(-1), respectively. The deposition of TN and total particulate N (TPN) was 18.02 and 4.33 kg N ha(-1) yr(-1) respectively, in 2013. TPN accounted for 24% of TN, while NH4+-N and NO3--N made up 40% and 33%, respectively, confirming the assumption that atmospheric wet N deposition would be underestimated without particulate N in rainfall. The N deposition was higher in Central and Southern China, and lower in North-west, North-east, Inner Mongolia, and Qinghai-Tibet regions. Precipitation, N fertilizer use, and energy consumption were significantly correlated with wet N deposition (all p<0.01). Models that included precipitation and N fertilizer can explain 80-91% of the variability in wet N deposition. Our findings reveal, for the first time, the composition of the wet N deposition in China at different scales and highlight the importance of TPN.

Abstract
We analysed the association between influenza A(H7N9) confirmed cases and exposure to poultry in Huzhou city, China. All cases (n=12) had a history of direct exposure to poultry or live poultry markets. We detected A(H7N9)-positive poultry samples from each site that was epidemiologically associated with cases. None of the cases’ close contacts tested positive. After closure of the markets, no new cases were identified, suggesting an epidemiological link between poultry exposure and A(H7N9) virus infection.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Bisphosphonates commonly used to treat osteoporosis, Paget's disease, multiple myeloma, hypercalcemia of malignancy and osteolytic lesions of cancer metastasis have been associated with bisphosphonate-associated jaw osteonecrosis (BJON). The underlying pathogenesis of BJON is unclear, but disproportionate bisphosphonate concentration in the jaw has been proposed as one potential etiological factor. This study tested the hypothesis that skeletal biodistribution of intravenous bisphosphonate is anatomic site-dependent in a rat model system. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fluorescently labeled pamidronate was injected intravenously in athymic rats of equal weights followed by in vivo whole body fluorimetry, ex vivo optical imaging of oral, axial, and appendicular bones and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid bone decalcification to assess hydroxyapatite-bound bisphosphonate. RESULTS Bisphosphonate uptake and bisphosphonate released per unit calcium were similar in oral and appendicular bones but lower than those in axial bones. Hydroxyapatite-bound bisphosphonate liberated by sequential acid decalcification was the highest in oral, relative to axial and appendicular bones (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS This study demonstrates regional differences in uptake and release of bisphosphonate from oral, axial, and appendicular bones of immune deficient rats.

Abstract
Juvenile hormone (JH), which controls many developmental and physiological processes in Drosophila melanogaster, is synthesized de novo in the specialized endocrine glands, corpus allatum (CA). The present study concerns JH metabolism, reproduction and stress resistance in Drosophila with genetic ablation of a part of CA cells. The correlated regulation of JH biosynthesis and degradation in Drosophila adults has been found: ablation of CA cells led to (1) a dramatic decrease in activity of the key regulatory enzyme of JH biosynthesis, juvenile hormone acid methyl transferase and (2) a considerable increase in JH-hydrolyzing activity. It has been also shown that ablation of CA cells caused three significant physiological changes: (1) an increase in the intensity of response of JH degradation system to heat stress; (2) a disturbance of reproduction; (3) a decrease in stress resistance. Pharmacological rise of JH level rescued JH-hydrolyzing activity, fecundity and stress resistance in CA-ablated females. Pronouncedly, all the physiological effects caused by CA ablation were significant in females but not in males indicating a sexual dimorphism of JH physiological roles in Drosophila adults.

Abstract
Target of rapamycin (TOR), a member of the phosphatidylinositol kinase-related kinase family, plays a critical role in the regulation of growth, metabolism, development and survival, at both the cellular and the organismal levels. Two paralogous Tor genes, BmTor1 and BmTor2, were identified as a pair of inverted repeats in the genome of the silkworm Bombyx mori. The synteny of BmTor1 and CG8360 indicates that BmTor1 is the orthologue while BmTor2 is a duplicate. Analyses of the two BmTor genes at both the nucleotide and amino acid levels reveal that they are evolutionally and structurally conserved. The two BmTor genes had similar expression patterns of tissue distribution with highest levels in the nervous system, and nearly identical developmental change profiles with maximal levels during the 4(th) -larval-moulting and the larval-pupal transition stages. Furthermore, both BmTor genes were up-regulated by either starvation or the moulting hormone 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E), while BmTor2 was more sensitive to both treatments than BmTor1. For the first time, we have identified two copies of the Tor gene in a higher eukaryote, which are induced by starvation and 20E during the larval moulting and the larval-pupal transition stage.

Abstract
Chromosome analysis is a basic science with medical implication. Karyotyping is a procedure to study an individual's chromosome make-up. It is time consuming to train students and clinical technologists to recognize patterns of G-banded chromosomes because of the dynamic nature of G-band resolutions in different metaphase spreads. High resolution G-bands are desirable because they provide detailed information for structural analysis. However, it is challenging to identify chromosomes at higher resolution levels even for many cytogenetics technologists. In response to the need for training students to identify human chromosomes at variable G-band resolutions, we present in this paper an advanced version of virtual reality (VR)-based interactive karyotyping program capable of manipulating G-band resolutions for human cytogenetics education. The program can generate different metaphase spreads ranging from short and well separate chromosomes at low G-band resolutions to long, curved, and overlapped chromosomes at high G-band resolutions. Other features include a scoring system, helping strategies, and the progress reports. The traditional "cut and paste" karyotyping method for chromosome separation is incorporated in the software. This method is compared with the "simple clicking" method which is based on an edge detection technique for outlining each chromosome. The comprehensive program is suitable for in-depth training of advanced students.
