Abstract
This research is focused on comparing the compositions of juice produced from old and commercially grown apple cultivars. We examined factors such as pH, total acids, soluble dry matter, polyphenol profile, and antioxidant activity, which impact the attributes, safety, shelf life, and nutritional value of the juice. Our analysis revealed differences between these two groups of cultivars. For instance, pH values ranged from 3.04 (in 'Bobovec') to 3.69 (in 'Fuji'). The proportions of acids varied from 0.07 g/100 mL (in 'Fuji') to 0.19 g/100 mL (in 'Wagener'). Soluble dry matter content ranged from 14.10% (in 'Fuji') to 18.50% (in 'Kraljevčica'). We also observed variations in sugar content and composition among cultivars; for example, sucrose levels varied from 16.11 g/L ('Fuji') to 39.36 g/L ('Golden Delicious). Glucose levels ranged from 4.95 g/L ('Jonagold') to 19.18 g/L ('Fuji'), while fructose levels spanned from 50.78 g/L ('Austrougarka') to 427.97 g/L ('Ilzer Rosenapfel'). Furthermore, old apple cultivars exhibited higher concentrations of phenols and flavonoids compared to commercial ones; we also noted significant variations in flavonol levels among different cultivars. The 'Wagener' and 'Božićnica' apple varieties had levels of myricetin measuring 0.53 and 0.52 µg/mL, respectively. On the other hand, 'Bobovec' stood out for its content of procyanidin B2 with a concentration of 422.61 µg/mL. When examining non-flavonoid compounds, it was found that old apple cultivars had higher concentrations of gallic acid, trans-ferulic acid, and chlorogenic acid. However, commercial cultivars showed dominance in caffeic and p-coumaric. Comparisons of antioxidant capacity using DPPH and ABTS assays clearly demonstrated the superiority of old apple cultivars. Overall, this study highlights the importance of utilizing apple cultivars for juice production. Their distinct compositions and higher antioxidant capacities contribute to potential health benefits. Preserving these cultivars for enhanced juice quality and nutritional value is encouraged. Further research could explore cultivation practices' impact on composition and health benefits.

Abstract
Although neglected as an industrial raw material, rose hip has been important for both nutritional and medical purposes for centuries. The main goal of this study was to propose a rapid and inexpensive non-thermal technique such as high voltage electrical discharge (HVED) to preserve valuable rose hip bioactive compounds, towards the development of high-quality products, including low-calorie products. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of HVED on the physicochemical properties and the microbiological safety of rose hip nectar formulations and, for comparison, on a pasteurised sample. Physicochemical analysis proved that rose hip pulp and the prepared nectars were valuable sources of polyphenols and ascorbic acid with high antioxidant activity. The HVED technique had minimal effects on the quality characteristics of the nectars under the different process conditions (50, 100 Hz; 10, 15, 20 min). In addition, the pasteurised nectar showed the greatest loss of ascorbic acid (54%) and phenolic compounds (40%). The microbiological quality of nectars was examined immediately after preparation/treatment and after 6 and 12 days of storage at 4 °C. In addition to the pasteurised sample, HVED-treated rose hip nectar prepared from microwave-blanched puree with extended shelf life had satisfactory microbiological safety after storage.

Abstract
Sensitivity of dsDNA structure towards OH radicals as the pro-oxidants has been utilized as the detection principle of an analytical procedure applied for the first time to the evaluation of antioxidant activity (AOA) of 6 chlorogenic acids (CGAs) and extracts of 10 coffees. A nanostructured electrochemical DNA-based biosensor was prepared using a commercial electrode assembly and treated in the DNA cleavage agent formed by the Fenton type reaction. An addition of CGAs and aqueous coffee extracts significantly diminishes the degree of DNA degradation determined using cyclic voltammetry (CV) with the redox indicator [Fe(CN)6]3-/4-. The AOA decreases in order caffeic acid, CFA, >caffeoylquinic acids, CQAs, >dicaffeoylquinic acids, diCQAs, exhibiting the relative portion of survived DNA of about 71%, 70% and 69%, respectively, and of about 72% for C. robusta, Cherry, India (green bean) to 49% for Nescafé Espresso. Mechanisms of antioxidative properties are discussed.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Lyme disease also called ,,the illness with a thousand faces" ("The Great Imitator") because it may mimic very well the symptoms and signs of other diseases, is an unusual medical encounter for the urologist. Every patient with Lyme disease has his own clinical feature, while the superposition over an unknown but easy to discover urological disease may lead to a misdiagnosis. CASE PRESENTATION Male patient A. P. was an emergency transfer in our clinic with multiple system organ failure. The mirage of first imaging finding, bilateral obstructive ureteral calculi was obviated after the serological confirmation of Lyme disease suspected after the thorough history obtained from his family. The intensive care treatment, broad-spectrum antibiotics and hemodialysis sessions, together with external urinary drainage, lead to the improvement of the patient status, and subsequent proper urological treatment to urolithiasis cure. CONCLUSIONS This case identifies several challenges faced by practitioners, challenges which involve the diagnosis and the treatment of Lyme disease associated with urolithiasis. Although Lyme disease remains a controversial clinical entity, its diagnosis is based on a history of possible exposure to ticks, the appearance of specific clinical symptoms, whether or not combined with serological tests.

Abstract
Ureteroscopy is a well-established procedure, which has proven the efficiency for diagnostic purposes, but mostly for ureteric stone removal. The authors describe their strategy after ureteroscopic lithotripsy with Wolf 8 Ch semirigid ureteroscope. Insertion of a double J stent for 2-4 weeks was the rule when there was an important bleeding during the procedure, the fragments were big and could not be extracted, some fragments migrated in upper third of the ureter or renal pelvis, a perforation occurred or it was found a ureteral stenosis. If the stone can be extracted without any problems (in one piece) and the ureter is normal there is no need for ureteral stenting. Having in mind that many patients describe problems with the double J stent (pains, polakiuria, etc) we recommend to insert a stent at the end of ureteroscopy only for selected cases.

Abstract
62 SSF sand-based constructed wetlands in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have been evaluated for their phosphorus performance. In addition intensive investigations on the removal of phosphorus and its accumulation within the filter bed were conducted at five wetlands. For the performance of horizontal flow (HF) reed beds a regression equation could be derived. This was not possible for vertical flow (VF) reed beds. The best removal efficiency was observed from HF systems with hydraulic loading rates of 10 mm d(-1) or less. 50 percent of all investigated HF wetlands had an average P output concentration of less than 2.1 mg l(-1) in comparison to 3.3 mg l(-1) of VF wetlands. Saturation, seasonal and redox effects could be derived from time series analysis of the performance rate and further investigations of a well monitored VF reed bed. The retention of phosphorus was highest during the warm season. A small positive effect on phosphorus removal was observed with intermittent low redox levels. Soil analyses showed the highest accumulation of P within the influent zone of either HF or VF wetlands.

Abstract
Since its first clinical application in 1980, the indication of ESWL has rapidly extended from renal pelvis stones to almost all urinary stones. The authors discuss about their experience accumulated in the past ten years, when 476 patients with caliceal stones were treated by ESWL. The global stone free rate was 60.05%, but almost a third of the patients (where fragmentation was radiological documented after ESWL) did not returned back for control. ESWL is a good solution for superior and middle calix stones less than 1.5 cm, not very opaque, with a sufficient large caliceal width. For the stones in the lower calix, the most important criteria for success are: the stone size, the opacity and, for sure, the angle between infundibulopelvic and ureteropelvic axis.
