Abstract
Leukemia is a haematological malignancy affecting blood and bone marrow, ranking 10th among the other common cancers. DNA methylation is an epigenetic dysregulation that plays a critical role in leukemogenesis. DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs) such as DNMT1, DNMT3A and DNMT3B are the key enzymes catalysing DNA methylation. Inhibition of DNMT1 with secondary metabolites from medicinal plants helps reverse DNA methylation. The present study focuses on inhibiting DNMT1 protein (PDB ID: 3PTA) with annonaceous acetogenins through in-silico studies. The docking and molecular dynamic (MD) simulation study was carried out using Schrödinger Maestro and Desmond, respectively. These compounds' drug likeliness, ADMET properties and bioactivity scores were analysed. About 76 different acetogenins were chosen for this study, among which 17 showed the highest binding energy in the range of -8.312 to -10.266 kcal/mol. The compounds with the highest negative binding energy were found to be annohexocin (-10.266 kcal/mol), isoannonacinone (-10.209 kcal/mol) and annonacin (-9.839 kcal/mol). MD simulation results reveal that annonacin remains stable throughout the simulation time of 100 ns and also binds to the catalytic domain of DNMT1 protein. From the above results, it can be concluded that annonacin has the potential to inhibit the DNA methylation process and prevent leukemogenesis.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
Microplastics and pesticides are emerging contaminants in the marine biota, which cause many harmful effects on aquatic organisms, especially on fish. Fish is a staple and affordable food source, rich in animal protein, along with various vitamins, essential amino acids, and minerals. Exposure of fish to microplastics, pesticides, and various nanoparticles generates ROS and induces oxidative stress, inflammation, immunotoxicity, genotoxicity, and DNA damage and alters gut microbiota, thus reducing the growth and quality of fish. Changes in fish behavioral patterns, swimming, and feeding habits were also observed under exposures to the above contaminants. These contaminants also affect the Nrf-2, JNK, ERK, NF-κB, and MAPK signaling pathways. And Nrf2-KEAP1 signalling modulates redox status marinating enzymes in fish. Effects of pesticides, microplastics, and nanoparticles found to modulate many antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione system. So, to protect fish health from stress, the contribution of nano-technology or nano-formulations was researched. A decrease in fish nutritional quality and population significantly impacts on the human diet, influencing traditions and economics worldwide. On the other hand, traces of microplastics and pesticides in the habitat water can enter humans by consuming contaminated fish which may result in serious health hazards. This review summarizes the oxidative stress caused due to microplastics, pesticides and nano-particle contamination or exposure in fish habitat water and their impact on human health. As a rescue mechanism, the use of nano-technology in the management of fish health and disease was discussed.

Abstract
SETTING Hospital in-patients with suspected tuberculous meningitis (TBM), predominantly in India. OBJECTIVE To determine whether interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) secreting Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigen-specific T-cells are present in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with TBM and to evaluate the feasibility of CSF enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISpot) for the diagnosis of active TBM. DESIGN Prospective blinded hospital-based study. RESULTS The overnight ELISpot assay detected M. tuberculosis antigen-specific IFN-gamma secreting T-cells in CSF from nine of 10 prospectively recruited patients with TBM, and zero of seven control patients with meningitis of other aetiology. This corresponds to a diagnostic sensitivity of 90% (95%CI 56-100) and specificity of 100% (95%CI 59-100). CONCLUSION This pilot study demonstrates proof-of-principle for a new T-cell-based diagnostic test for TBM which is rapid, sensitive and specific.

Abstract
The impact of insoluble phosphorus such as aluminum and rock phosphate on alkaline phosphatase activity of polyurethane foam immobilized cyanobacteria was assessed. Polyurethane foam immobilized Nodularia recorded the highest alkaline phosphatase activity of 9.04 (m. mol p-nitrophenol released h(-1) mg(-1) protein) in vitro. A higher concentration of aluminum phosphate was recorded a 25% reduction in alkaline phosphatase activity, ammonia content, and available phosphorus in culture filtrate of polyurethane foam immobilized cyanobacteria. In general, immobilized cyanobacteria exhibited a higher alkaline phosphatase activity in rock phosphate than aluminum phosphate.

Abstract
A concurrent comparison of the WHO 30-cluster sample survey method for estimating immunization coverages (DPT, Polio, BCG, Measles) and an Indian modification of (GOI) was undertaken in five districts in South India. The essential difference between the two methods is the manner in which the first household is selected in the chosen clusters. With the WHO method, it is chosen clusters. With the WHO method, it is chosen at random, whereas with the GOI method it is often close to the village centre. Estimates with the required degree of precision, i.e., 95% confidence limits of +/- 10 percentage points, were provided in 18 (90%) of 20 instances by the WHO method and in 19 (95%) by the GOI method, findings which are in accordance with expectation. The estimated coverages were, however, higher by the GOI method than by the WHO method in two districts, lower in one district, and in the remaining two districts there was no clear pattern. On the average, there was a suggestion that the GOI method yielded slightly higher coverages, but the differences were not statistically significant.

Abstract
A 30-cluster survey method that is employed for estimating immunization coverages by the Government of India (GOI) was compared with a Purposive method, to investigate whether the likely omission of SC/ST and backward classes in the former would lead to the reporting of higher coverages. The essential difference between the two methods is in the manner in which the first household is selected in the chosen first stage sampling units (villages). With the GOI method, it is often close to the village centre, whereas with the Purposive method it is always in the periphery or in a pocket consisting of SC/ST or backward classes. A concurrent comparison of the two methods in three districts in Tamil Nadu showed no real differences in the coverage with DPT and BCG vaccines. However, the coverage was consistently higher by the GOI method in the case of the Polio vaccine (by 1.5%, 3.1% and 5.3% in the 3 districts), and the Measles vaccine (by 4.8%, 13.3% and 13.9%); the average difference was 3.3% for Polio vaccine (p = 0.08) and 7.3% for Measles vaccine (p = 0.01).
