Abstract
BACKGROUND Ketamine is a quick acting antidepressant drug, and an accurate detection method is lacking. Ketamine's effects in a rat depression model have not previously been well explored using glutamate chemical exchange saturation transfer (GluCEST). PURPOSE To investigate the GluCEST changes of chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) rats after receiving either ketamine or saline injection. STUDY TYPE Randomized animal model trial. ANIMAL MODEL 12 CUMS and 6 Sprague-Dawley rats. Divided into three groups: ketamine (N = 6), saline (N = 6), and control (N = 6). FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 7.0 T/the sequence is GluCEST and 1 H MR spectroscopy (MRS). ASSESSMENT The CUMS rats were exposed to different stress factors for 8 weeks. The glutamate concentration in the hippocampus was assessed by the GluCEST,1 H MRS, and the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). STATISTICAL TESTS The t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Pearson's correlation. RESULTS In depression conditions, GluCEST signals were lower in the bilateral hippocampus than in control group. Thirty minutes after ketamine injection, the GluCEST signals in the bilateral hippocampus were higher compared with the saline group (left: 2.99 ± 0.34 [Control] vs. 2.44 ± 0.20 [Saline] vs. 2.85 ± 0.11 [Ketamine]; right: 2.97 ± 0.28 [Control] vs. 2.49 ± 0.25 [Saline] vs. 2.86 ± 0.19 [Ketamine]). In 1 H MRS, significant changes were only observed in the left hippocampus (2.00 ± 0.16 [Control] vs. 1.81 ± 0.09 [Saline] vs. 2.04 ± 0.14 [Ketamine]). Furthermore, HPLC results showed similar trends to those observed in the GluCEST results (left: 2.32 ± 0.22 [Control] vs. 1.96 ± 0.11 [Saline] vs. 2.18 ± 0.11 [Ketamine]; right: 2.35 ± 0.18 [Control] vs. 1.87 ± 0.16 [Saline] vs. 2.09 ± 0.08 [Ketamine]). DATA CONCLUSION GluCEST can sensitively evaluate the ketamine's antidepressant effects by detecting the fast increase in glutamate concentration. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 1 TECHNICAL EFFICACY STAGE: 1.

Abstract
Optoacoustic imaging enables the measurement of tissue oxygen saturation (sO2) and blood perfusion while being utilized for detecting tumor microenvironments. Our aim was to employ multispectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT) to assess immediate-early changes of hemoglobin level and sO2 within breast tumors during diverse treatments. Mouse breast cancer models were allocated into four groups: control, everolimus (EVE), paclitaxel (PTX), and photodynamic therapy (PDT). Hemoglobin was quantified daily, as well as sO2 and blood perfusion were verified by immunohistochemical (IHC) staining. MSOT showed a temporal window of enhanced oxygenation and improved perfusion in EVE and PTX groups, while sO2 consistently remained below baseline in PDT. The same results were obtained for the IHC. Therefore, MSOT can monitor tumor hypoxia and indirectly reflect blood perfusion in a non-invasive and non-labeled way, which has the potential to monitor breast cancer progression early and enable individualized treatment in clinical practice.

Abstract
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons and the accumulation of iron in the substantia nigra. While iron accumulation and inflammation are implicated in PD pathogenesis, their impact on oligodendrocytes, the brain's myelin-forming cells, remains elusive. This study investigated the influence of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), an elevated proinflammatory cytokine in PD, on iron-related proteins in MO3.13 oligodendrocytes. We found that IL-1β treatment in undifferentiated MO3.13 oligodendrocytes increased iron regulatory protein 1 and transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1) expression while decreasing ferroportin 1 (FPN1) expression. Consequently, iron uptake was enhanced, and iron release was reduced, leading to intracellular iron accumulation. Conversely, IL-1β treatment in differentiated MO3.13 oligodendrocytes exhibited the opposite effect, with decreased TfR1 expression, increased FPN1 expression, and reduced iron uptake. These findings suggest that IL-1β-induced dysregulation of iron metabolism in oligodendrocytes may contribute to the pathological processes observed in PD. IL-1β can increase the iron content in undifferentiated oligodendrocytes, thus facilitating the differentiation of undifferentiated MO3.13 oligodendrocytes. In differentiated oligodendrocytes, IL-1β may facilitate iron release, providing a potential source of iron for neighboring dopaminergic neurons, thereby initiating a cascade of deleterious events. This study provides valuable insights into the intricate interplay between inflammation, abnormal iron accumulation, and oligodendrocyte dysfunction in PD. Targeting the IL-1β-mediated alterations in iron metabolism may hold therapeutic potential for mitigating neurodegeneration and preserving dopaminergic function in PD.

Abstract
Torrefaction of biomass is one of the most promising pretreatment methods for deriving biofuels from biomass via thermochemical conversion processes. In this work, the changes in physicochemical properties and morphology features of the torrefied corn stalk, the changes in physicochemical properties and morphology features of the torrefied corn stalk were investigated. The results of this study showed that the elemental content and proximate analysis of the torrefied corn stalk significantly changed compared with those of the raw corn stalk. In particular, at 300 °C, the volatile content decreased to 41.79%, while the fixed carbon content and higher heating value increased to 42.22% and 21.31 MJ/kg, respectively. The H/C and O/C molar ratios of torrefied corn stalk at the 300 °C were drastically reduced to 0.99 and 0.27, respectively, which are similar to those of conventional coals in China. Numerous cracks and pores were observed in the sample surface of torrefied corn stalk at the torrefaction temperature range of 275 °C-300 °C, which could facilitate the potential application of the sample in the adsorption process and promote the release of gas products in pyrolysis. In the pyrolysis phase, the liquid products of the torrefied corn stalk decreased, but the H2/CO ratio and the lower heating value of the torrefied corn stalk increased compared with those of the raw corn stalk. This work paves a new strategy for the investigation of the effect of torrefaction on the physiochemical characteristics and pyrolysis of the corn stalk, highlighting the application potential in the conversion of biomass.

Abstract
The sensitive and rapid detection of microsamples is crucial for early diagnosis of diseases. The short response times and low sample volume requirements of microfluidic chips have shown great potential in early diagnosis, but there are still shortcomings such as complex preparation processes and high costs. We developed a low-cost smartphone-based fluorescence detection device (Smartphone-BFDD) without precision equipment for rapid identification and quantification of biomarkers on glass capillary. The device combines microfluidic technology with RGB image analysis, effectively reducing the sample volume to 20 μL and detection time to only 30 min. For the sensitivity of the device, we constructed a standard sandwich immunoassay (antibody-antigen-antibody) in a glass capillary using the N-protein of SARS-CoV-2 as a biological model, realizing a low limit of detection (LOD, 40 ng mL-1). This device provides potential applications for different biomarkers and offers wide use for rapid biochemical analysis in biomedical research.

Abstract
The prostatic abscess is a rare complication of a bacterial infection of the prostate. Since the early use of potent antibiotics to treat urinary tract infections, the incidence of the prostatic abscess has declined significantly. In keeping with that, prostatic abscess combined with abscesses in the spleen or other distant organs become an extremely rare but fatal clinical condition. Here, we present a case of prostate and spleen abscess due to multi-drug-resistant gram-negative bacilli without obvious risk factors. The patient initially complained of high-grade fever and dysuria. After screening the source of infection by computed tomography (CT) scans, prostate and spleen abscesses were diagnosed. In addition, extended-spectrum beta-lactamase positive Escherichia coli was detected both in urine and blood culture. The patient was successfully treated by a transurethral resection of the prostate followed by splenic puncture and drainage, as well as intravenous administration of meropenem. Although the prostate abscess combined with spleen abscess was rare, the possibility of dissemination in remote tissues should be taken into consideration before the surgical treatment of prostatic abscesses. The concurrent drainage of multiple abscesses followed by intensive and sensitive antibiotics was safe and effective for indicated patients.

Abstract
Salt and drought stresses are major environmental conditions that severely limit grape growth and productivity, while exogenous melatonin can alleviate the drought and salt damage to grapevines. N-acetylserotonin methyltransferase (ASMT) is the key enzyme in melatonin synthesis, which plays a critical role in regulating stress responses. However, the roles of ASMTs from grapevine under drought and salt stresses responses remain largely unclear. In this study, the VvASMT1 gene was isolated from grapevine, and its physiological functions in salt and mimic drought stress tolerance were investigated. Expression pattern analysis revealed that VvASMT1 was significantly induced by different salt and osmotic stresses. Ectopic expression of VvASMT1 in Nicotiana benthamiana significantly enhanced melatonin production in transgenic plants. Compared with wild-type plants, the transgenic lines exhibited a higher germination ratio, longer root length, lower degree of leaf wilting and relative water content (RWC) under salt and osmotic stresses. In addition, under salt and osmotic stresses, overexpression of VvASMT1 improved proline and malondialdehyde (MDA) contents, increased the activity of antioxidant enzymes and decreased the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Taken together, our results demonstrate the explicit role of VvASMT1 in salt and osmotic stress responses, which provides a theoretical foundation for the genetic engineering of grapevine.

Abstract
To improve the conical pick cutting performance by per cutting to the free surface. The cutting performance of rock and rock plate breaking are investigated by theoretical and experimental methods. Analyzed the fracture position of the rock plate with constrained one side by the pick to study the effect of rock properties and the rock plate structural parameters on cutting force. The results indicated that the rock plate fracture is mainly from the constrained side and center of the rock plate. The cutting force of the conical pick is significantly affected by the rock plate structural parameters and the constraint sides of the rock plate number. The cutting force increases obviously with the increase of plate thickness, cutting point depth, and the rock uniaxial compressive strength. However, the influence of rock plate constrains sides number is opposite. It provides a basis for improving the cutting performance of pick and predicting the rock plate fracture.
