Análise da convergência do Safety Attitudes Questionnaire e do Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture

RESUMO Objetivos: analisar a cultura de segurança do paciente a partir da percepção dos profissionais de enfermagem de um hospital universitário, por meio da avaliação da convergência entre o Safety Attitudes Questionnaire e o Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture. Métodos: estudo transversal, com 434 profissionais de enfermagem. A coleta dos dados ocorreu mediante aplicação de ambos os instrumentos. Utilizou-se estatística descritiva e inferencial. Resultados: no Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture, a dimensão “trabalho em equipe no âmbito das unidades” foi considerada uma área forte da segurança do paciente. No Safety Attitudes Questionnaire, os domínios “satisfação no trabalho” e “percepção de estresse” atingiram o escore para boa cultura de segurança. A percepção de cultura de segurança do paciente se correlaciona, em ambos os instrumentos, com magnitude elevada. Conclusões: os dois instrumentos convergem para uma avaliação semelhante da cultura de segurança do paciente.

Analysis of the convergence of the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire and the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture

OBJECTIVES

to analyze patient safety culture from nursing professionals' perception at a university hospital, by assessing the convergence between the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire and the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture.

METHODS

a cross-sectional study, with 434 nursing professionals. Data collection took place through the application of both instruments. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used.

RESULTS

in the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture, the "teamwork within the units" dimension was considered a strong area of patient safety. In the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire, the "job satisfaction" and "perception of stress" domains reached the score for a good safety culture. Patient safety culture perception is correlated, in both instruments, with high magnitude.

CONCLUSIONS

the two instruments converge towards a similar assessment of patient safety culture.

Stress and overweight/obesity among nursing students

OBJECTIVE

analyze associations between demographic, academic, health, stress, overweight and obesity characteristics among nursing students.

METHOD

this is a cross-sectional study with 95 students from a private university in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. A demographic, academic and health characterization questionnaire and the Assessment of Stress in Nursing Students (ASNS) scale were applied. Anthropometric measures were taken and descriptive and bivariate analyses were performed.

RESULTS

female students predominated in this study, mean age: 25.6±5.87 years. Weight gain was observed in 52.6% of the students, with the 'Professional training' session reporting high (29.5%) and very high (36.8%) levels of stress. None of the stress scale sessions was associated with overweight and obesity.

CONCLUSION

overweight and obesity were associated with male participants, high blood pressure, weight gain since the beginning of the course, altered waist circumference, no physical activity, eating more in stressful situations, and consumption of unhealthy foods.

Social networks of patients with chronic skin lesions: nursing care

OBJECTIVE

To describe the social networks of patients with chronic skin damages.

METHOD

A qualitative study conducted through semi-structured interviews with nine subjects with chronic skin lesions from June 2016 to March 2017; we used the theoretical-methodological framework of Lia Sanicola's Social Network.

RESULTS

The analysis of the relational maps revealed that the primary network was formed mainly by relatives and neighbors; its characteristics, such as: reduced size, low density and few exchanges/relationships, configures fragility in these links. The secondary network was essentially described by health services, and the nurse was cited as a linker in the therapeutic process.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

Faced with the fragility of the links and social isolation, the primary health care professionals are fundamental foundations for the construction of networks of social support and care for patients with chronic skin lesions.

A UTILIZAÇÃO DE UM REFERENCIAL METODOLÓGICO NA IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DE EVIDÊNCIAS COMO PARTE DA INVESTIGAÇÃO EM ENFERMAGEM

RESUMO Objetivo: refletir a respeito das potencialidades do quadro conceitual Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services (PARIHS) para a tradução do conhecimento e na implementação de evidências em saúde e enfermagem. Método: esta reflexão tem como base o referencial metodológico proposto, sua utilização no contexto internacional da pesquisa em saúde e enfermagem, e as possibilidades no contexto brasileiro. Resultados: referenciais metodológicos como o quadro de conceitual Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services, desenvolvido no âmbito da enfermagem, vêm sendo utilizados amplamente para tradução do conhecimento para a prática dos serviços de saúde. O panorama da contribuição referido referencial metodológico evidencia que vem sendo utilizado nas investigações em saúde, principalmente em enfermagem, em diversos lugares do mundo, com aplicação na implementação de pesquisa, para realização de intervenção educativa, na análise do local de desenvolvimento estudo, análise de dados obtidos em investigação, ou até mesmo, para organização de pesquisas. Conclusão: esta reflexão apresenta possibilidades de utilização do quadro conceitual Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services nas investigações em saúde e enfermagem no Brasil, para, deste modo, minimizar a lacuna entre a produção e consumo do conhecimento envolvendo as pessoas interessadas para facilitar a utilização dos resultados da investigação e assegurar mudanças nas práticas e nas políticas públicas.

Abundance and stratification of soil macroarthropods in a Caatinga Forest in Northeast Brazil

In arid and semiarid environments, seasonality usually exerts a strong influence on the composition and dynamics of the soil community. The soil macroarthropods were studied in a Caatinga forest located in the Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural (RPPN) Fazenda Almas, São José dos Cordeiros, Paraíba, Brazil. Samples were collected during the dry and rainy seasons following the method proposed by the Tropical Soil Biology and Fertility Program (TSBF), with minor modifications. At each station, 15 soil blocks (20 × 20 × 30 cm: 12 L) were extracted and divided into three layers: A (0-10 cm), B (10-20 cm), and C (20-30 cm). In the rainy and dry seasons 1,306 ± 543(se) and 458 ± 212 ind.m-2 macroarthropods were found, respectively, with 35 and 18 respective taxa recorded. The abundance of individuals and taxa were significantly higher in the rainy season. Isoptera (57.8%) was the most abundant taxon, followed by Hymenoptera: Formicidae (17.2%), Coleoptera larvae (7.3%), and Araneae (3.5%). In the rainy season, abundance in layer A (576 ± 138 ind.m-2) was significantly higher than that of layer C (117 ± 64 ind.m-2), but was not different from layer B (613 ± 480 ind.m-2). There was also no difference between the layer B and C abundances. In the dry season, abundance in layer B (232 ± 120 ind.m-2) was not significantly different compared to layer A (182 ± 129 ind.m-2), but was significantly higher than abundance in layer C (44 ± 35 ind.m-2). During the rainy season, layer A (34 taxa) was significantly richer in taxa than layers B (19 taxa) and C (11 taxa). On the other hand, during the dry season the richness of layers A (12 taxa) and B (12 taxa) was equal, but significantly higher than that of layer C (6 taxa). Richness of taxa and abundance were positively correlated with soil organic matter and negatively correlated with soil temperature. The community of soil macroarthropods in the area of Caatinga studied has taxonomic and functional structures that are relatively complex and is therefore likely to exert an influence on ecosystem productivity due to its physical effects on soil profile and necromass fragmentation, as occurs in other arid and semiarid ecosystems throughout the world.
