Abstract
BACKGROUND INFORMATION Lamins are type V intermediate filament proteins underlying the inner nuclear membrane which provide structural rigidity to the nucleus, tether the chromosomes, maintain nuclear homeostasis, and remain dynamically associated with developmentally regulated regions of the genome. A large number of mutations particularly in the LMNA gene encoding lamin A/C results in a wide array of human diseases, collectively termed as laminopathies. Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is one such laminopathic cardiovascular disease which is associated with systolic dysfunction of left or both ventricles leading to cardiac arrhythmia which ultimately culminates into myocardial infarction. RESULTS In this work, we have unraveled the epigenetic landscape to address the regulation of gene expression in mouse myoblast cell line in the context of the missense mutation LMNA 289A CONCLUSIONS We report here for the first time that there is a significant downregulation of the NF-κB pathway, which has been implicated in cardio-protection elsewhere. SIGNIFICANCE This provides a new pathophysiological explanation that correlates an LMNA mutation and dilated cardiomyopathy.

Abstract
In the paper, we present an integrated flow cytometer with a 2D array of magnetic sensors based on dual-frequency oscillators in a 65-nm CMOS process, with the chip packaged with microfluidic controls. The sensor architecture and the presented array signal processing allows uninhibited flow of the sample for high throughput without the need for hydrodynamic focusing to a single sensor. To overcome the challenge of sensitivity and specificity that comes as a trade off with high throughout, we perform two levels of signal processing. First, utilizing the fact that a magnetically tagged cell is expected to excite sequentially an array of sensors in a time-delayed fashion, we perform inter-site cross-correlation of the sensor spectrograms that allows us to suppress the probability of false detection drastically, allowing theoretical sensitivity reaching towards sub-ppM levels that is needed for rare cell or circulating tumor cell detection. In addition, we implement two distinct methods to suppress correlated low frequency drifts of singular sensors-one with an on-chip sensor reference and one that utilizes the frequency dependence of the susceptibility of super-paramagnetic magnetic beads that we deploy as tags. We demonstrate these techniques on a 7×7 sensor array in 65 nm CMOS technology packaged with microfluidics with magnetically tagged dielectric particles and cultu lymphoma cancer cells.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Access to health insurances could indicate the degree of health security among communities. Indonesia made a commitment to attain universal health insurance coverage by the end of 2019. However, until today it has not reached the goal of 100% coverage. Therefore, there is a need to portray the demographic and economic correlates of health insurance coverage in an area to improve health security achievement. METHODS This secondary analysis was based on the 2017 Indonesian national socio-economic survey conducted in the West Sumatra province. Multivariable models using logistic regression were used to estimate the odds ratios (OR) for being uninsured. RESULTS The results showed that health security, in terms of insurance coverage, was influenced by demographic and economic factors. Young and middle-aged individuals were more likely to be uninsured than older ones (OR = 1.49 and OR = 1.21, respectively). People from a lower educated family, or with lower consumption per capita have higher risk of being uninsured (OR = 3.00 and OR = 1.26, respectively). CONCLUSION Insurance coverage was influenced by demographic and economic factors. Policymakers should consider demographic and economic factors related to the implementation of universal health coverage. Campaign about the importance of universal health coverage should reach all citizens.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Few studies have examined the development of geographic and socioeconomic inequalities in caries over time or have simultaneously assessed individual-level socioeconomic position (SEP) and neighborhood-level factors as a multi-layered phenomenon influencing caries inequalities. This study examined (i) the trends in geographic inequalities in caries among adolescents in Denmark and (ii) how the association between SEP and caries has progressed over time, when accounting for individual and neighborhood-level confounding factors. METHODS This nationwide repeated cross-sectional study included 15-year-olds in Denmark from 1995, 2003, and 2013 (n = 149,808). The outcome was caries experience (measured by the decayed, missing, and filled tooth surfaces [DMFS] index). The exposure of interest was SEP, indicated by the previous year's parental education, occupational social class, and (equivalized) disposable household income. Covariates included individual-level factors (immigration status, country of origin, number of children and persons in the family, and household type) and neighborhood (residence municipality)-level factors (Gini index; proportion of unemployed, low-educated, and unmarried/non-cohabiting individuals; proportion of single-parent households and households with overcrowding). Data sources included the Danish national dental and administrative social registers and Statistics Denmark's statistics database (StatBank). Data were analyzed using spatial and spatiotemporal modelling utilizing zero-inflated negative binomial regressions and integrated nested Laplace approximations for Bayesian parametric inference. Observed caries experience geo-maps of the Danish municipalities for 1995, 2003, and 2013 were created. RESULTS Between 1995 and 2013, caries prevalence in the 15-year-olds declined sharply (1995, 71%; 2013, 45%). Caries experience declined in nearly all socioeconomic subgroups and municipalities. However, geographic inequalities persisted with higher caries levels largely concentrated in the relatively deprived areas of Denmark. Increasing relative socioeconomic inequalities in caries over time were observed with significant graded associations between SEP and caries despite adjustment for the various individual and neighborhood-level covariates and the effect of assessment year (e.g., 15-year-olds with parents having basic education had 1.91-fold [95% CI: 1.86-1.95] higher caries experience than those having parents with high education). CONCLUSIONS Reducing these enduring inequalities will likely require additional resources and targeted supportive and preventive measures for adolescents from lower SEP backgrounds and those residing in municipalities with higher caries prevalence.

Abstract
'Doing science together' collaborations are a more intense form of university-industry interactions and are characterized by a mutual involvement and active participation of academic and company scientists in scientific research. Here, we examine the successful approach that AstraZeneca and its internationally renowned academic partners, Karolinska Institutet and Uppsala University, implemented to fully unlock the potential of all parties in long-term, explorative, truly collaborative research programs. The underlying premises of these successful research programs are three collaborative governance mechanisms (3MCs) that are required that leverage the strengths of each organization: mutual collaboration; mutually beneficial science; and a mutual governance model with senior management involvement.

Abstract
The article presents for the first time a pill-based ingestible electronics with CMOS integrated multiplexed fluorescence bio-molecular sensor arrays, bi-directional wireless communication and packaged optics in a FDA-approved capsule for in-vivo bio-molecular sensing. The silicon chip integrates both the sensor array, and the ultra-low-power (ULP) wireless system that allows offloading sensor computing to an external base station that can reconfigure the sensor measurement time, and its dynamic range, allowing optimized high sensitivity measurement under low power consumption. The integrated receiver achieves -59 dBm receiver sensitivity dissipating 121 µW of power. The integrated transmitter operates in a dual mode FSK/OOK delivering -15 dBm of power. The 15-pixel fluorescence sensor array follows an electronic-optic co-design methodology and integrates the nano-optical filters with integrated sub-wavelength metal layers that achieves high extinction ratio (39 dB), thereby eliminating the need for bulky external optical filters. The chip integrates photo-detection circuitry and on-chip 10-bit digitation, and achieves measured sensitivity of 1.6 attomoles of fluorescence labels on surface, and between 100 pM to 1 nM of target DNA detection limit per pixel. The complete package includes a CMOS fluorescent sensor chip with integrated filter, a prototyped UV LED and optical waveguide, functionalized bioslip, off-chip power management and Tx/Rx antenna that fits in a standard FDA approved capsule size 000.

Abstract
We study a fermionic chain with nearest-neighbor hopping and density-density interactions, where the nearest-neighbor interaction term is driven periodically. We show that such a driven chain exhibits prethermal strong Hilbert space fragmentation (HSF) in the high drive amplitude regime at specific drive frequencies ω_{m}^{*}. This constitutes the first realization of HSF for out-of-equilibrium systems. We obtain analytic expressions of ω_{m}^{*} using a Floquet perturbation theory and provide exact numerical computation of entanglement entropy, equal-time correlation functions, and the density autocorrelation of fermions for finite chains. All of these quantities indicate clear signatures of strong HSF. We study the fate of the HSF as one tunes away from ω_{m}^{*} and discuss the extent of the prethermal regime as a function of the drive amplitude.

Abstract
Origami is the art of paper folding that allows a single flat piece of paper to assume different 3D shapes depending on the fold patterns and the sequence of folding. Using the principles of origami along with computation imaging technique the authors demonstrate a versatile shape-morphing microwave imaging array with reconfigurable field-of-view and scene-adaptive imaging capability. Microwave/millimeter-wave based array imaging systems are expected to be the workhorse for sensory perception of future autonomous intelligent systems. The imaging capability of a planar array-based systems operating in complex scattering conditions have limited field-of-view and lack the ability to adaptively reconfigure resolution. To overcome this, here, deviations from planarity and isometry are allowed, and a shape-morphing computational imaging system is demonstrated. Implemented on a reconfigurable Waterbomb origami surface with 22 active metasurface panels that radiate near-orthogonal modes across 17-27 GHz, capability to image complex 3D objects in full details minimizing the effects of specular reflections in diffraction-limited sparse imaging with scene adaptability, reconfigurable cross-range resolution, and field-of-view is demonstrated. Such electromagnetic origami surfaces, through simultaneous surface shape-morphing ability (potentially with shape-shifting electronic materials) and electromagnetic field programmability, opens up new avenues for intelligent and robust sensing and imaging systems for a wide range of applications.

Abstract
Lamin proteins which constitute the nuclear lamina in almost all higher eukaryotes, are mainly of two types A & B encoded by LMNA and LMNB1/B2 genes respectively. While lamin A remains the principal product of LMNA gene, variants like lamin C, C2 and A∆10 are also formed as alternate splice products. Role of lamin A in aging has been highlighted in recent times due to its association with progeroid or premature aging syndromes which is classified as a type of laminopathy. Progeria caused by accelerated accumulation of lamin A Δ50 or progerin occurs due to a mutation in this LMNA gene leading to defects in post translational modification of lamin A. One of the most common and severe symptoms of progeroid laminopathy is accelerated cellular senescence or aging along with bone resorption, muscle weakness, lipodystrophy and cardiovascular disorders. On the other hand, progerin accumulation and telomere dysfunction merge as common traits in the process of chronological aging. Two major hallmarks of physiological aging in humans include loss of genomic integrity and telomere attrition which can result from defective laminar organization leading to deformed nuclear architecture and culminates into replicative senescence. This also adversely affects epigenetic landscape, mitochondrial dysfunction and several signalling pathways like DNA repair, mTOR, MAPK, TGFβ. In this review, we discuss the telomere-lamina interplay in the context of physiological aging and progeria.

Abstract
Moore's law has enabled massive scaling of complex computing and sensing systems in modern-day chip-scale architectures allowing extremely high yield and system complexity at very low-cost. Exploiting such Moore's law, we explore silicon-based integrated circuits and chip-scale systems to interface with biological fluids to manipulate, sense, and detect cells in real-time for an end-to-end low cost, miniaturized, and high sensitivity point-of-care diagnostics platform. Elimi-nating the need for complex, expensive, large and bulky syringe pumps and optical-based cytometers, the proposed system allows pneumatic-free AC electro-osmosis bulk fluid driving capabilities controlled by the CMOS chip, and integrated dielectrophoretic cell actuation with 2μm focusing accuracy, impedance spectroscopy sensing, and separation capabilities. The paper presents, for the first-time, a CMOS-driven cellular sensing platform for microfluidics that can be translated to a wide range of biomedical applications.

Abstract
Orofacial pain patients often report that the painful facial area is "swollen" without clinical signs - known as perceptual distortion (PD). The neuromodulatory effect of facilitatory repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on PD in healthy individuals was investigated, to provide further support that the primary somatosensory cortex (SI) is involved in facial PD. Participants were allocated to active (n = 26) or sham (n = 26) rTMS group in this case-control study. PD was induced experimentally by injecting local anesthesia (LA) in the right infraorbital region. PD was measured at baseline, 6 min after LA, immediately, 20 and 40 min after rTMS. Intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) as active rTMS and sham rTMS was applied to the face representation area of SI at 10 min after LA. The magnitude of PD was compared between the groups. The magnitude of PD significantly increased immediately after iTBS compared with sham rTMS (P = .009). The PD was significantly higher immediately after iTBS compared to 6 min after LA (P = .004) in the active rTMS group, but not in the sham rTMS group (P = .054). iTBS applied to a somatotopic-relevant cortical region appears to facilitate facial PD further supporting the involvement of SI in the processing of one´s own face and PD. PERSPECTIVE: This study provides information on neural substrate responsible for processing of perceptual distortion of the face which is speculated to contribute to the chronification of orofacial pain. The findings of this study may aid in mechanism-based management of the condition in orofacial pain disorders and possibly other chronic pain states.

Abstract
Early diabetes research is hampered by limited availability, variable quality, and instability of human pancreatic islets in culture. Little is known about the human β cell secretome, and recent studies question translatability of rodent β cell secretory profiles. Here, we verify representativeness of EndoC-βH1, one of the most widely used human β cell lines, as a translational human β cell model based on omics and characterize the EndoC-βH1 secretome. We profiled EndoC-βH1 cells using RNA-seq, data-independent acquisition, and tandem mass tag proteomics of cell lysate. Omics profiles of EndoC-βH1 cells were compared to human β cells and insulinomas. Secretome composition was assessed by data-independent acquisition proteomics. Agreement between EndoC-βH1 cells and primary adult human β cells was ∼90% for global omics profiles as well as for β cell markers, transcription factors, and enzymes. Discrepancies in expression were due to elevated proliferation rate of EndoC-βH1 cells compared to adult β cells. Consistently, similarity was slightly higher with benign nonmetastatic insulinomas. EndoC-βH1 secreted 783 proteins in untreated baseline state and 3135 proteins when stressed with nontargeting control siRNA, including known β cell hormones INS, IAPP, and IGF2. Further, EndoC-βH1 secreted proteins known to generate bioactive peptides such as granins and enzymes required for production of bioactive peptides. EndoC-βH1 secretome contained an unexpectedly high proportion of predicted extracellular vesicle proteins. We believe that secretion of extracellular vesicles and bioactive peptides warrant further investigation with specialized proteomics workflows in future studies.

Abstract
Nuclear morphological features are potent determining factors for clinical diagnostic approaches adopted by pathologists to analyze the malignant potential of cancer cells. Considering the structural alteration of the nucleus in cancer cells, various groups have developed machine learning techniques based on variation in nuclear morphometric information like nuclear shape, size, nucleus-cytoplasm ratio and various non-parametric methods like deep learning have also been tested for analyzing immunohistochemistry images of tissue samples for diagnosing various cancers. We aim to correlate the morphometric features of the nucleus along with the distribution of nuclear lamin proteins with classical machine learning to differentiate between normal and ovarian cancer tissues. It has already been elucidated that in ovarian cancer, the extent of alteration in nuclear shape and morphology can modulate genetic changes and thus can be utilized to predict the outcome of low to a high form of serous carcinoma. In this work, we have performed exhaustive imaging of ovarian cancer versus normal tissue and developed a dual pipeline architecture that combines the matrices of morphometric parameters with deep learning techniques of auto feature extraction from pre-processed images. This novel Deep Hybrid Learning model, though derived from classical machine learning algorithms and standard CNN, showed a training and validation AUC score of 0.99 whereas the test AUC score turned out to be 1.00. The improved feature engineering enabled us to differentiate between cancerous and non-cancerous samples successfully from this pilot study.

Abstract
This paper presents a collection of electroencephalogram (EEG) data recorded from 40 subjects (female: 14, male: 26, mean age: 21.5 years). The dataset was recorded from the subjects while performing various tasks such as Stroop color-word test, solving arithmetic questions, identification of symmetric mirror images, and a state of relaxation. The experiment was primarily conducted to monitor the short-term stress elicited in an individual while performing the aforementioned cognitive tasks. The individual tasks were carried out for 25 s and were repeated to record three trials. The EEG was recorded using a 32-channel Emotiv Epoc Flex gel kit. The EEG data were then segmented into non-overlapping epochs of 25 s depending on the various tasks performed by the subjects. The EEG data were further processed to remove the baseline drifts by subtracting the average trend obtained using the Savitzky-Golay filter. Furthermore, the artifacts were also removed from the EEG data by applying wavelet thresholding. The dataset proposed in this paper can aid and support the research activities in the field of brain-computer interface and can also be used in the identification of patterns in the EEG data elicited due to stress.

Abstract
The importance of point-of-care (POC) bio-molecular diagnostics capable of rapid analysis has become abundantly evident after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. While sensing interfaces for both protein and nucleic-acid based assays have been demonstrated with chip-scale systems, sample preparation in compact form factor has often been a major bottleneck in enabling end-to-end POC diagnostics. Miniaturization of an end-to-end system requires addressing the front-end sample processing, without which, the goal for low-cost POC diagnostics remain elusive. In this paper, we address bulk fluid processing with AC-osmotic based electrokinetic fluid flows that can be fully controlled, processed and automated by CMOS ICs, fabricated in TSMC 65 nm LP process. Here, we combine bulk fluid flow control with bio-molecular sensing, cell manipulation, cytometry, and separation-all of which are controlled with silicon chips for an all-in-one bio-sensing device. We show CMOS controlled pneumatic-free bulk fluid flow with fluid velocities reaching up to 160 μm/s within a microfluidic channel of 100 × 50 μm 2 of cross-sectional area. We incorporate electrode arrays to allow precise control and focused cell flows ( ±2 μm precision) for robust cytometry, and for subsequent separation. We also incorporate a 16-element impedance spectroscopy receiver array for cell and label-free protein sensing. The massive scalability of CMOS-driven microfluidics, manipulation, and sensing can lead to a new design space and a new class of miniaturized sensing technologies.

Abstract
We present a brief overview of some of the analytic perturbative techniques for the computation of the Floquet Hamiltonian for a periodically driven, or Floquet, quantum many-body system. The key technical points about each of the methods discussed are presented in a pedagogical manner. They are followed by a brief account of some chosen phenomena where these methods have provided useful insights. We provide an extensive discussion of the Floquet-Magnus (FM) expansion, the adiabatic-impulse approximation, and the Floquet perturbation theory. This is followed by a relatively short discourse on the rotating wave approximation, a FM resummation technique and the Hamiltonian flow method. We also provide a discussion of some open problems which may possibly be addressed using these methods.

Abstract
Lamins are nucleoskeletal proteins of mammalian cells that stabilize the structure and maintain the rigidity of the nucleus. These type V intermediate filament proteins which are predominantly of A and B types provide necessary tensile strength to the nucleus. Single amino acid missense mutations occurring all over the lamin A protein form a cluster of human diseases termed as laminopathies, most of which principally affect the muscle and cardiac tissues responsible for load bearing functionalities of the body. One such mutation is A350P which causes dilated cardiomyopathy in patients. It is postulated that a change from alanine to proline in the α-helical coiled-coil forming 2B rod domain of the protein might severely disrupt the propensity of the filaments to polymerise into functional higher order structures required to form a fully functional lamina with its characteristic elasticity. In this study, we have elucidated for the very first time, the application of active microrheology employing oscillating optical tweezers to investigate any alterations in the viscoelastic parameters of the mutant protein meshwork in vitro, which might translate into possible changes in nuclear plasticity. We confirmed our findings from this robust yet fast method by imaging both the wild type and mutant lamin A networks using a super resolution microscope, and observed changes in the mesh size which corroborate our measured changes in the viscoelastic parameters of the lamins. This method could thus be extended to conduct microrheological measurements on any intermediate filament protein thus bearing significant implications in laminopathies and other diseases associated with intermediate filaments.

Abstract
Motivated by the spin-momentum locking of electrons at the boundaries of certain topological insulators, we study a one-dimensional system of spin-orbit coupled massless Dirac electrons withs-wave superconducting pairing. As a result of the spin-orbit coupling, our model has only two kinds of linearly dispersing modes, and we take these to be right-moving spin-up and left-moving spin-down. Both lattice and continuum models are studied. In the lattice model, we find that a single Majorana zero energy mode appears at each end of a finite system provided that thes-wave pairing has an extended form, with the nearest-neighbor pairing being larger than the on-site pairing. We confirm this both numerically and analytically by calculating the winding number. We find that the continuum model also has zero energy end modes. Next we study a lattice version of a model with both Schrödinger and Dirac-like terms and find that the model hosts a topological transition between topologically trivial and non-trivial phases depending on the relative strength of the Schrödinger and Dirac terms. We then study a continuum system consisting of twos-wave superconductors with different phases of the pairing, with aδ-function potential barrier lying at the junction of the two superconductors. Remarkably, we find that the system has asingleAndreev bound state (ABS) which is localized at the junction. When the pairing phase difference crosses a multiple of 2π, an ABS touches the top of the superconducting gap and disappears, and a different state appears from the bottom of the gap. We also study the AC Josephson effect in such a junction with a voltage bias that has both a constantV0and a term which oscillates with a frequencyω. We find that, in contrast to standard Josephson junctions, Shapiro plateaus appear when the Josephson frequencyωJ= 2eV0/ℏis a rational fraction ofω. We discuss experiments which can realize such junctions.

Abstract
Nuclear lamins form an elastic meshwork underlying the inner nuclear membrane and provide mechanical rigidity to the nucleus and maintain shape. Lamins also maintain chromosome positioning and play important roles in several nuclear processes like replication, DNA damage repair, transcription, and epigenetic modifications. LMNA mutations affect cardiac tissue, muscle tissues, adipose tissues to precipitate several diseases collectively termed as laminopathies. However, the rationale behind LMNA mutations and laminopathies continues to elude scientists. During interphase, several chromosomes form inter/intrachromosomal contacts inside nucleoplasm and several chromosomal loops also stretch out to make a ‘loop-cluster’ which are key players to regulate gene expressions. In this perspective, we have proposed that the lamin network in tandem with nuclear actin and myosin provide mechanical rigidity to the chromosomal contacts and facilitate loop-clusters movements. LMNA mutations thus might perturb the landscape of chromosomal contacts or loop-clusters positioning which can impair gene expression profile.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Social and family conditions are likely of great importance to dental health; however, limited evidence of familial aggregation of caries among adolescent siblings exists. Moreover, social and family-level factors have never been evaluated as isolated caries predictors at the individual level. OBJECTIVES The objectives were to evaluate socioeconomic patterning of caries among siblings, assess sibling-specific aggregation of caries within families, and examine if such aggregation differed by parental socioeconomic position (SEP). We also evaluated the discriminant ability of sibling caries, SEP, and other social and familial factors in predicting caries in cosiblings. METHODS This nationwide register-based study included all 15-y-olds in Denmark in 2003 (index siblings) and their biological siblings born within ±3 y (cosiblings). Clinical and sociodemographic data for each subject were compiled from Danish national dental, social, and population registers. Caries was measured by the decayed, missing, and filled tooth surfaces (DMFS) index. Predictors included SEP (parental education, income, and occupational social class), gender, birth order, immigration status, and household type. Adjusted SEP-caries associations were estimated using negative binomial regression. Familial aggregation was evaluated using adjusted pairwise odds ratios from alternating logistic regressions. Caries prediction was based on classification and regression tree (CART) analyses. RESULTS The study included 23,847 sibling pairs (n = 47,694). Socioeconomic patterning of caries was similar among the index and cosiblings with significant graded SEP-caries associations. Significant sibling-specific aggregation of caries was observed; cosiblings of caries-affected index siblings had odds of having caries 3.9 times (95% confidence interval: 3.65-4.18) as high as that of cosiblings with caries-free index siblings. This sibling similarity was stronger in socioeconomically disadvantaged families (adjusted pairwise odds ratios: 3.08-5.47). CART revealed index sibling caries as the single most important caries predictor, with caries predicted in ≥84% of cosiblings of adolescents with ≥3 carious tooth surfaces. CONCLUSIONS Caries in a sibling should prompt preventive family-based approaches targeting cosiblings. KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER STATEMENT This study revealed significant socioeconomic patterning of caries in adolescent siblings. Prediction modeling indicated that the single most important caries predictor among cosiblings was index sibling caries. Information on sibling caries level should be routinely combined with clinical evaluation to identify children at risk. Moreover, information on social and family conditions should be used to target prevention and health promotion at the school or municipal level. These approaches could possibly contribute to reducing the existing caries inequalities.

Abstract
Background : Despite high levels dental issues and insurance coverage in the East Java province Indonesia, the utilization of dental services is still low. This research aims to test whether certain individual-level sociodemographic, behavioural, and clinical characteristics influenced the current level of dental services utilization by East Java residents. Methods : A secondary analysis was undertaken using data on the East Java province from the Indonesian Basic Health Research 2013, which included 90,551 randomly selected respondents aged 5-100 years old. Socio-demographic characteristics (age, sex, education and residential location), dental behavior (tooth brushing habit), and clinical (dental) condition were self-reported through a questionnaire. Multivariable models were generated to estimate prevalence ratios (PR), and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). Results : Prevalence of dental service utilization during the last 12 months in East Java province is only 9 %. Respondents 25-<50 years old showed the highest utilization of dental services. Being male, having lower education and living in a district (as opposed to municipalities) were indicators for having lower utilization of dental treatment (PR [95% CI] = 0.81 [0.79-0.84], PR [95% CI] = 0.89 [0.86-0.93] and PR [95% CI] = 0.91 [0.88-0.95], respectively). Respondents with poor tooth brushing habit showed lower utilization of dental services. Having teeth was associated with higher utilization of dental treatment (PR [95% CI] = 1.39 [1.16-1.66). Conclusions : Age, sex, education and residential location influence the utilization of dental services among Indonesia's East Java residents. Poor tooth brushing habits and being edentulous are also indicators of lesser utilization. These results call for urgent public health interventions to increase equitable dental care services utilization.

Abstract
Atmospheric new-particle formation (NPF) affects climate by contributing to a large fraction of the cloud condensation nuclei (CCN). Highly oxygenated organic molecules (HOMs) drive the early particle growth and therefore substantially influence the survival of newly formed particles to CCN. Nitrogen oxide (NOx) is known to suppress the NPF driven by HOMs, but the underlying mechanism remains largely unclear. Here, we examine the response of particle growth to the changes of HOM formation caused by NOx. We show that NOx suppresses particle growth in general, but the suppression is rather nonuniform and size dependent, which can be quantitatively explained by the shifted HOM volatility after adding NOx. By illustrating how NOx affects the early growth of new particles, a critical step of CCN formation, our results help provide a refined assessment of the potential climatic effects caused by the diverse changes of NOx level in forest regions around the globe.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aims to report the prevalence and distribution of recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) among Indonesian adults and to test the relationship between symptom of depression and RAS. METHODS Data from the 2007 Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS 2007) were analysed to assess the association between symptom of depression and RAS. The prevalence of RAS in the previous month was self-reported. Symptom of depression was measured using the 10-item Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) scale. The distribution of RAS according to age, sex and level of stress was also presented in the bivariate analysis. Multivariable logistic regression models were fitted to test associations between symptom of depression and RAS, controlling for age, sex and the stress level. RESULTS The previous month prevalence of RAS in Indonesian population was 12%. The adjusted odds ratios (ORs) from the logistic regression models indicate that, for each unit increase in the CES-D depression score (range: 0-30), there was a 9% increase in the odds of having RAS (OR: 1.09, 95%CI: 1.08-1.10). Being older and being male was related with lower prevalence of RAS. CONCLUSIONS A higher score of depression was related to a higher prevalence of RAS. This association was persistent even after controlling for age, sex and the level of stress.

Abstract
Background: Etoricoxib is a second-generation cyclooxygenase-2-inhibitor approved in 2012 for short-term treatment of pain associated with dental surgery. Objectives: To evaluate etoricoxib utilization in dental patients in the Nordic countries, including its off-label use. Methods: The entire populations of Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway with etoricoxib prescriptions written by dentists and dispensed in 2012-2014 were evaluated using national register data. Nationwide estimates of etoricoxib utilization were generated according to year, gender, age, dose and package size. Off-label use in paediatric patients, prescribed doses >90 mg/day or for dental contacts not associated with surgical procedures, and concomitant administration with anticoagulants were evaluated. Results: Utilization of etoricoxib for dental pain was low (1615 prescriptions: Finland, 907; Sweden, 359; Norway, 337; Denmark, 12). Overall, 70% of the prescriptions were without an associated dental procedure. Moreover, 58%, 55%, 10% and 58% of the prescriptions in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway, respectively, were for >90 mg/day doses. Few paediatric prescriptions were dispensed (n < 10), and only a small overlap (n = 21) was observed between etoricoxib and anticoagulant prescriptions. Conclusions: Given the low overall number of prescriptions, it is unlikely that off-label use of etoricoxib within dentistry in the Nordic countries is an important public health concern.

Abstract
The ultra-miniaturization of massively multiplexed fluorescence-based bio-molecular sensing systems for proteins and nucleic acids into a chip-scale form, small enough to fit inside a pill (∼ 0.1cm3), can revolutionize sensing modalities in-vitro and in-vivo. Prior miniaturization techniques have been limited to focusing on traditional optical components (multiple filter sets, lenses, photo-detectors, etc.) arranged in new packaging systems. Here, we report a method that eliminates all external optics and miniaturizes an entire multiplexed fluorescence system into a 2 × 1 mm2 chip through co-integration for the first time of massively scalable nano-plasmonic multi-functional optical elements and electronic processing circuitry realized in an industry standard complementary-metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) foundry process with absolutely 'no change' in fabrication or processing. The implemented nano-waveguide based filters operating in the visible and near-IR realized with the embedded sub-wavelength multi-layer copper-based electronic interconnects inside the chip show for the first time a sub-wavelength surface plasmon polariton mode inside CMOS. This is the principle behind the angle-insensitive nature of the filtering that operates in the presence of uncollimated and scattering environments, enabling the first optics-free 96-sensor CMOS fluorescence sensing system. The chip demonstrates the surface sensitivity of zeptomoles of quantum dot-based labels, and volume sensitivities of ∼ 100 fM for nucleic acids and ∼ 5 pM for proteins that are comparable to, if not better, than commercial fluorescence readers. The ability to integrate multi-functional nano-optical structures in a commercial CMOS process, along with all the complex electronics, can have a transformative impact and enable a new class of miniaturized and scalable chip-sized optical sensors.

Abstract
This paper demonstrates a methodology to miniaturize THz spectroscopes into a single silicon chip by eliminating traditional solid-state architectural components such as complex tunable THz and optical sources, nonlinear mixing and amplifiers. The proposed method achieves this by extracting incident THz spectral signatures from the surface of an on-chip antenna itself. The information is sensed through the spectrally-sensitive 2D distribution of the impressed current surface under the THz incident field. By converting the antenna from a single-port to a massively multi-port architecture with integrated electronics and deep subwavelength sensing, THz spectral estimation is converted into a linear estimation problem. We employ rigorous regression techniques and analysis to demonstrate a single silicon chip system operating at room temperature across 0.04-0.99 THz with 10 MHz accuracy in spectrum estimation of THz tones across the entire spectrum.

Abstract
Optical spectrometry in the visible and near-infrared range has a wide range of applications in healthcare, sensing, imaging, and diagnostics. This paper presents the first fully integrated optical spectrometer in standard bulk CMOS process without custom fabrication, postprocessing, or any external optical passive structure such as lenses, gratings, collimators, or mirrors. The architecture exploits metal interconnect layers available in CMOS processes with subwavelength feature sizes to guide, manipulate, control, diffract light, integrated photodetector, and read-out circuitry to detect dispersed light, and then back-end signal processing for robust spectral estimation. The chip, realized in bulk 65-nm low power-CMOS process, measures 0.64 mm 0.56 mm in active area, and achieves 1.4 nm in peak detection accuracy for continuous wave excitations between 500 and 830 nm. This paper demonstrates the ability to use these metal-optic nanostructures to miniaturize complex optical instrumentation into a new class of optics-free CMOS-based systems-on-chip in the visible and near-IR for various sensing and imaging applications.

BACKGROUND A and B-type lamins are integral scaffolding components of the nuclear lamina which impart rigidity and shape to all metazoan nuclei. Over 450 mutations in A-type lamins are associated with 16 human diseases including dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Here, we show that DCM mutants perturb the self-association of lamin A (LA) and it's binding with lamin B1 (LB1). METHODS We used confocal and superresolution microscopy (NSIM) to study the effect of LA mutants on the nuclear lamina. We further used circular dichroism, fluorescence spectroscopy and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) to probe the structural modulations, self-association and heteropolymeric association of mutant LA. RESULTS Transfection of mutants in cultured cell lines result in the formation of nuclear aggregates of varied size and distribution. Endogenous LB1 is sequestered into these aggregates. This is consistent with the ten-fold increase in association constant of the mutant proteins compared to the wild type. These mutants exhibit differential heterotypic interaction with LB1, along with significant secondary and tertiary structural alterations of the interacting proteins. Thermodynamic studies demonstrate that the mutants bind to LB1 with different stoichiometry, affinity and energetics. CONCLUSIONS In this report we show that increased self-association propensity of mutant LA modulates the LA-LB1 interaction and precludes the formation of an otherwise uniform laminar network. GENERAL SIGNIFICANCE Our results might highlight the role of homotypic and heterotypic interactions of LA in the pathogenesis of DCM and hence laminopathies in the broader sense.

Abstract
We study transport properties of a phosphorene monolayer in the presence of single and multiple potential barriers of height U 0 and width d, using both continuum and microscopic lattice models, and show that the nature of electron transport along its armchair edge (x direction) is qualitatively different from its counterpart in both conventional two-dimensional electron gas with Schrödinger-like quasiparticles and graphene or surfaces of topological insulators hosting massless Dirac quasiparticles. We show that the transport, mediated by massive Dirac electrons, allows one to achieve collimated quasiparticle motion along x and thus makes monolayer phosphorene an ideal experimental platform for studying Klein paradox in the context of gapped Dirac materials. We study the dependence of the tunneling conductance [Formula: see text] as a function of d and U 0, and demonstrate that for a given applied voltage V its behavior changes from oscillatory to decaying function of d for a range of U 0 with finite non-zero upper and lower bounds, and provide analytical expression for these bounds within which G decays with d. We contrast such behavior of G with that of massless Dirac electrons in graphene and also with that along the zigzag edge (y direction) in phosphorene where the quasiparticles obey an effective Schrödinger equation at low energy. We also study transport through multiple barriers along x and demonstrate that these properties hold for transport through multiple barriers as well. Finally, we suggest concrete experiments which may verify our theoretical predictions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Scandinavian welfare states, despite having better population oral health than less egalitarian societies, are characterized by ubiquitous social gradients and large relative socioeconomic inequalities in oral health. However, trends in these inequalities among Scandinavian children and adolescents have not been studied in detail. OBJECTIVES To describe the associations between socioeconomic position (SEP) and oral health in adolescents and to investigate the trends in these associations between 1995 and 2013. METHODS Nationwide repeated cross-sectional studies (using individual-level data) were conducted on 15-year-olds in Denmark from 1995, 2003, and 2013 (N=154,750). Dental data were obtained from the national dental register of the Danish Health Authority (Sundhedsstyrelsens Centrale Odontologiske Register [SCOR]) and data on social variables from administrative registers at Statistics Denmark. SEP measures included previous year's parental education (highest attained educational level by either of the parents), income (equivalized household disposable income), and occupational social class (highest recorded occupational class between the parents). Covariates were immigration status, country of origin, number of children and persons in the family, and household type. The outcome was dental caries experience, represented by the decayed, missing, and filled surfaces (DMFS) index. Negative binomial regression models were used to examine the association between DMFS count and each of the explanatory variables separately while accounting for cluster-correlated family data. Furthermore, hierarchical multiple regressions of DMFS on SEP indicators-using the zero-inflated negative binomial (ZINB) distribution as the outcome distribution-were estimated while successively adjusting for the potential effects of the included covariates. RESULTS Caries prevalence declined from 71% in 1995 to 63% in 2003 and 45% in 2013. Separate assessment of each covariate showed statistically significant graded associations between each covariate and DMFS count at all time points. Similarly, in the ZINB models, in all 3 years, clear gradients were observed in terms of caries differentials in all three SEP categories, with statistically significant associations (Type 3 P values, <.0001) even after adjustment for all other covariates. For instance, in 2013, even among adolescents with positive caries experience, being of lower occupational social class was associated with up to 2.4-fold (95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.2-2.6) higher caries experience. Between 1995 and 2013, relative inequalities increased in all SEP categories, while absolute inequalities decreased in the education and occupation categories. CONCLUSION Considerable progress has been made in reducing dental caries rates among Danish adolescents; however, this progress has benefited the disadvantaged social groups less than the better-off groups.

Abstract
One molecular cue that regulates cellular protrusions such as blebbing and lamellipodia in tumor cells has been less explored than other environmental factors. NM II-A induces blebbing and NM II-C1 induces lamellipodia in tumor cells. NM-II isoforms can change the protrusive activity of a tumor cell. Bleb formation has been correlated with nonmuscle myosin II (NM-II) activity. Whether three isoforms of NM-II (NM-IIA, -IIB and -IIC) have the same or differential roles in bleb formation is not well understood. Here we report that ectopically expressed, GFP-tagged NM-II isoforms exhibit different types of membrane protrusions, such as multiple blebs, lamellipodia, combinations of both, or absence of any such protrusions in MCF-7 cells. Quantification suggests that 50% of NM-IIA-GFP–, 29% of NM-IIB-GFP–, and 19% of NM-IIC1-GFP–expressing MCF-7 cells show multiple bleb formation, compared with 36% of cells expressing GFP alone. Of interest, NM-IIB has an almost 50% lower rate of dissociation from actin filament than NM-IIA and –IIC1 as determined by FRET analysis both at cell and bleb cortices. We induced bleb formation by disruption of the cortex and found that all three NM-II-GFP isoforms can reappear and form filaments but to different degrees in the growing bleb. NM-IIB-GFP can form filaments in blebs in 41% of NM-IIB-GFP–expressing cells, whereas filaments form in only 12 and 3% of cells expressing NM-IIA-GFP and NM-IIC1-GFP, respectively. These studies suggest that NM-II isoforms have differential roles in the bleb life cycle.

Abstract
We use a time-dependent hopping expansion technique to study the non-equilibrium dynamics of strongly interacting bosons in an optical lattice in the presence of a harmonic trap characterized by a force constant K. We show that after a sudden quench of the hopping amplitude J across the superfluid (SF)-Mott insulator (MI) transition, the SF order parameter [Formula: see text] and the local density fluctuation [Formula: see text] exhibit sudden decoherence beyond a trap-induced time scale [Formula: see text]. We also show that after a slow linear ramp down of J, [Formula: see text] and the boson defect density [Formula: see text] display a novel non-monotonic spatial profile. Both these phenomena can be explained as consequences of trap-induced time and length scales affecting the dynamics and can be tested by concrete experiments.

Abstract
We demonstrate that dynamical probes provide direct means of detecting the topological phase transition (TPT) between conventional and topological phases, which would otherwise be difficult to access because of loss or heating processes. We propose to avoid such heating by rapidly quenching in and out of the short-lived topological phase across the transition that supports gapless excitations. Following the quench, the distribution of excitations in the final conventional phase carries signatures of the TPT. We apply this strategy to study the TPT into a Majorana-carrying topological phase predicted in one-dimensional spin-orbit-coupled Fermi gases with attractive interactions. The resulting spin-resolved momentum distribution, computed by self-consistently solving the time-dependent Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations, exhibits Kibble-Zurek scaling and Stückelberg oscillations characteristic of the TPT. We discuss parameter regimes where the TPT is experimentally accessible.

Abstract
Lamin B1 is one of the major constituents of the nuclear lamina, a filamentous network underlying the nucleoplasmic side of the inner nuclear membrane. Homopolymerization of lamin B1, coupled to the homotypic and heterotypic association of other lamin types, is central to building the higher order network pattern inside the nucleus. This in turn maintains the mechanical and functional integrity of the lamina. We have characterized the molecular basis of the self-association of lamin B1 using spectroscopic and calorimetric methods. We report that concentration dependent lamin B1 oligomerization involves significant alterations in secondary and tertiary structures of the protein resulting in fairly observable compaction in size. Comparison of the energetics of the homotypic association of lamin B1 with that of lamin A reported earlier led to the finding that lamin A oligomers had higher thermodynamic stability. This leads us to conjecture that lamin B1 has less stress bearing ability compared to lamin A.

Abstract
We study the statistics of the work distribution P(w) in a d-dimensional closed quantum system with linear dimension L subjected to a periodic drive with frequency ω(0). We show that the corresponding rate function I(w)=-ln[P(w)/Λ(0)]/L^{d} after a drive period satisfies a universal lower bound I(0)≥n(d) and has a zero at w=QL(d)/N, where n(d) and Q are the excitation and the residual energy densities generated during the drive, Λ(0) is a constant fixed by the normalization of P(w), and N is the total number of constituent particles or spins in the system. We supplement our results by calculating I(w) for a class of d-dimensional integrable models and show that I(w) has an oscillatory dependence on ω(0) originating from Stuckelberg interference generated due to double passage through the critical point or region during the drive. We suggest experiments to test our theory.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is one of the most commonly encountered heart diseases reported globally. It is characterized by enlarged ventricles with impaired systolic and diastolic functions. Mutations in LMNA gene are one of the causative factors to precipitate the disease. However, association of SNPs of LMNA with DCM in particular has not been well documented. METHOD Here we present a limited and restricted case study of patients from south eastern part of India afflicted with idiopathic DCM and conduction defects. By using next generation sequencing we have sequenced the exons of LMNA gene from genomic DNA isolated from patients. RESULT We have identified the linkage of 8 different LMNA SNPs with idiopathic DCM viz. rs121117552, rs538089, rs505058, rs4641, rs646840, rs534807, rs80356803 and rs7339. These SNPs are scattered throughout the gene with prevalence for the region encoding the central rod domain of lamin A/C. CONCLUSION Most of these SNPs in LMNA were previously reported to be involved in various disorders other than DCM. We conclude that, variation in LMNA is one of the major underlying genetic causes for the pathogenesis of DCM, as observed in few Indian populations.

Abstract
Hsp70 facilitates maturation of newly synthesized kinases and assists degradation of kinases under normal and stressed conditions. Hsp70 degrades misfolded kinases that partition into different quality-control compartments by promoting their ubiquitination, thus protecting cells from proteotoxic stress. Hsp70 aids in protein folding and directs misfolded proteins to the cellular degradation machinery. We describe discrete roles of Hsp70,SSA1 as an important quality-control machinery that switches functions to ameliorate the cellular environment. SSA1 facilitates folding/maturation of newly synthesized protein kinases by aiding their phosphorylation process and also stimulates ubiquitylation and degradation of kinases in regular protein turnover or during stress when kinases are denatured or improperly folded. Significantly, while kinases accumulate as insoluble inclusions upon SSA1 inhibition, they form soluble inclusions upon Hsp90 inhibition or stress foci during heat stress. This suggests formation of inclusion-specific quality-control compartments under various stress conditions. Up-regulation of SSA1 results in complete removal of these inclusions by the proteasome. Elevation of the cellular SSA1 level accelerates kinase turnover and protects cells from proteotoxic stress. Upon overexpression, SSA1 targets heat-denatured kinases toward degradation, which could enable them to recover their functional state under physiological conditions. Thus active participation of SSA1 in the degradation of misfolded proteins establishes an essential role of Hsp70 in deciding client fate during stress.

Abstract
A- and B-type lamins are intermediate filament proteins constituting the nuclear lamina underneath the nuclear envelope thereby conferring proper shape and mechanical rigidity to the nucleus. Lamin proteins are also shown to be related diversely to basic nuclear processes. More than 400 mutations in human lamin A protein alone have been reported to produce at least 11 different disease conditions jointly termed as laminopathies. These mutations in lamin A are scattered throughout its helical rod domain, as well as the C-terminal domain containing the conserved Ig-fold region. The commonality of phenotypes in all these diseases is characterized by misshapen nuclei of the affected tissues which might stem from altered rigidity of the supporting lamina hence lamins. Here we have focused on autosomal dominant Emery-Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy, one such laminopathy where R453W is the causative mutation located in the Ig domain of lamin A. We have investigated by single-molecule force spectroscopy how a stretching mechanical perturbation senses the destabilizing effect of the mutation in the lamin A Ig domain and compared the mechanoelastic properties of the mutant R453W with that of the wild-type in conjunction with steered molecular dynamics. Furthermore, we have shown the interaction of Ig domain with emerin, another key player and interacting partner in the pathogenesis of EDMD, is disrupted in the R453W mutant. This altered mechanoresistance of Ig domain itself and consequent uncoupling of lamin A-emerin interaction might underlie the altered mechanotransduction properties of EDMD affected nuclei.

Abstract
We use a perturbative momentum shell renormalization group (RG) approach to study the properties of a driven quantum system at zero temperature. To illustrate the technique, we consider a bosonic ϕ(4) theory with an arbitrary time dependent interaction parameter λ(t) = λ f(ω0t), where ω0 is the drive frequency and we derive the RG equations for the system using a Keldysh diagrammatic technique. We show that the scaling of ω0 is analogous to that of temperature for a system in thermal equilibrium and its presence provides a cutoff scale for the RG flow. We analyze the resultant RG equations, derive an analytical condition for such a drive to take the system out of the gaussian regime, and show that the onset of the non-gaussian regime occurs concomitantly with the appearance of non-perturbative mode coupling terms in the effective action of the system. We supplement the above-mentioned results by obtaining them from equations of motion of the bosons and discuss their significance for systems near critical points described by time-dependent Landau-Ginzburg theories.

Abstract
Lamins are intermediate filament proteins of type V constituting a nuclear lamina or filamentous meshwork which lines the nucleoplasmic side of the inner nuclear membrane. This protein mesh provides a supporting scaffold for the nuclear envelope and tethers interphase chromosome to the nuclear periphery. Mutations of mainly A-type lamins are found to be causative for at least 11 human diseases collectively termed as laminopathies majority of which are characterised by aberrant nuclei with altered structural rigidity, deformability and poor mechanotransduction behaviour. But the investigation of viscoelastic behavior of lamin A continues to elude the field. In order to address this problem, we hereby present the very first report on viscoelastic properties of wild type human lamin A and some of its mutants linked with Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) using quantitative rheological measurements. We observed a dramatic strain-softening effect on lamin A network as an outcome of the strain amplitude sweep measurements which could arise from the large compliance of the quasi-cross-links in the network or that of the lamin A rods. In addition, the drastic stiffening of the differential elastic moduli on superposition of rotational and oscillatory shear stress reflect the increase in the stiffness of the laterally associated lamin A rods. These findings present a preliminary insight into distinct biomechanical properties of wild type lamin A protein and its mutants which in turn revealed interesting differences.

Abstract
We show that the ramp dynamics of phonons in a one-dimensional ion trap can be used for both generating multiparticle entangled states and motional state cooling of a string of trapped ions. We study such ramp dynamics using an effective Bose-Hubbard model which describes these phonons at low energies and show that specific protocols, involving site-specific dynamical tuning of the on-site potential of the model, can be used to generate entangled states and to achieve motional state cooling without involving electronic states of the ions. We compare and contrast our schemes for these to the earlier suggested ones and discuss specific experiments to realize the suggested protocols.

Abstract
Superlattice in graphene generates extra Dirac points in the band structure and their number depends on the superlattice potential strength. Here, we have created a lateral superlattice in a graphene device with a tunable barrier height using a combination of two gates. In this Letter, we demonstrate the use of lateral superlattice to modify the band structure of graphene leading to the emergence of new Dirac cones. This controlled modification of the band structure persists up to 100 K.

Abstract
We study the zero temperature non-equilibrium dynamics of a fermionic superfluid in the BCS limit and in the presence of a drive leading to a time-dependent chemical potential μ(t). We choose a periodic driving protocol characterized by a frequency ω and compute the fermion density, the wavefunction overlap, and the residual energy of the system at the end of N periods of the drive. We demonstrate that the BCS self-consistency condition is crucial in shaping the long time behaviour of the fermions subjected to the drive and provide an analytical understanding of the behaviour of the fermion density nkF (where kF is the Fermi momentum vector) after a drive period and for large ω. We also show that the momentum distribution of the excitations generated due to such a drive bears the signature of the pairing symmetry and can be used, for example, to distinguish between s- and d-wave superfluids. We propose experiments to test our theory.
