Abstract
Penthorum chinense Pursh (PCP), as a traditional medicine of Miao nationality in China, is often used for the treatment of various liver diseases. At present, information regarding the in vivo process of PCP is lacking. Herein, a sensitive and robust ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem with mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) was developed and validated for the quantification of several components to study their pharmacokinetics, tissues distribution and excretion in normal and acute alcoholic liver injury (ALI) rats. Prepared samples were separated on a Thermo C18 column (4.6 mm × 50 mm, 2.4 μm) using water containing 0.1 % formic acid (A) and acetonitrile (B) as the mobile phase for gradient elution. Negative electrospray ionization was performed using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode for each component. The validated UPLC-MS/MS assay gave good linearity, accuracy, precision, recovery rate, matrix effect and stability. This method was successfully applied to the pharmacokinetics, tissue distribution and excretion in normal and acute ALI rats. There were differences in pharmacokinetic process, tissue distribution and excretion characteristics, indicating that ALI had a significant influence on the in vivo process of PCP in rats. The research provided an experimental basis for the study of PCP quality control and further application in the clinic.

Abstract
Conventional antisolvents such as chlorobenzene and benzotrifluoride are highly toxic and volatile, and therefore not preferred for large-scale fabrication. As such, green antisolvents are favored for the eco-friendly fabrication of perovskite films. This review primarily discusses the impact of various green antisolvents on the fabrication of thin perovskite films and analyzes the main chemical characteristics of these green antisolvents. It also interprets the impact of green antisolvent treatment on crystal growth and nucleation crystallization mechanisms. It introduces the effective fabrication of large-area devices using green antisolvents and analyzes the mechanisms by which green antisolvents enhance device stability. Subsequently, several green antisolvents capable of preparing highly stable and efficient devices are listed. Finally, we outline the key challenges and future prospects of antisolvent treatment. This review paves the way for green fabrication of industrial perovskite solar cells.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS There are limited data regarding indeterminate acute liver failure (ALF). The study aims to perform a post hoc analysis using genetic methods for the ALF cases with indeterminate etiology. PATIENTS AND METHODS Stored blood samples from these patients with indeterminate ALF were collected. Whole-exome sequencing (WES) was used to evaluate the pathogenesis of indeterminate ALF. RESULTS A total of 16 samples from 11 adult patients and 5 pediatric patients with indeterminate ALF were available. Among the adult patients, one female patient was identified with two heterozygous variants (c.2333G > T (p.Arg778Leu) and c.2310C > G (p.Leu770 = )) in the adenosine triphosphatase copper-transporting beta (ATP7B) gene, and two male patients were found to harbor heterozygous and homozygous variants (c.686C > A (p.Pro229Gln) plus homozygousvariantA(TA)6TAAinsTA (-), andc.1456 T > G (p.Tyr486Asp) plus c.211G > A (p.Gly71Arg)) in the uridine diphosphate glucuronosyltransferase 1A1 (UGT1A1) gene. For the pediatric patients, single heterozygous variant (c.2890C > T (p.Arg964Cys)) in the polymerase gamma (POLG) gene was found in 1 male child, and two heterozygous variants (c.1909A > G (p.Lys637Glu) and c.3646G > A (p.Val1216Ile)) in the tetratricopeptide repeat domain 37 (TTC37) gene were found in 1 female child. No variants clinically associated with known liver diseases were revealed in the remaining patients. CONCLUSION These results expand the knowledge of ALF with indeterminate etiology. WES is helpful to reveal possible candidate genes for indeterminate ALF, but incomplete consistency between the genotype and phenotype in some cases still challenge the accurate diagnosis.

Abstract
Isovitexin is a main natural flavonoid component in various plants. Currently, the inhibitory effect of isovitexin on pancreatic lipase (PL) and its mechanism have not been elucidated yet. In the present study, we investigated the inhibitory effect of isovitexin on PL, as well as its interaction mechanism, using enzyme inhibition methods, spectroscopic analysis, and molecular simulations. Results showed that isovitexin possessed significant PL inhibitory activity, with IC50 values of 0.26 ± 0.02 mM. The interaction between isovitexin and PL was dominated by static quenching, and mainly through hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interaction forces. Analysis of fluorescence spectroscopy confirmed that isovitexin binding altered the conformation of the PL. Circular dichroism (CD) spectrum indicated that isovitexin altered the secondary structure of PL by decreasing the α-helix content and increasing the β-fold content. Molecular simulations further characterize the conformational changes produced by the interaction between isovitexin with PL. The performed study may provide a new insight into the inhibitory mechanism of isovitexin as a novel PL inhibitor.

Abstract
Cancer cells employ the unfolded protein response (UPR) or induce autophagy, especially selective removal of certain ER domains via reticulophagy (termed ER-phagy), to mitigate endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress for ER homeostasis when encountering microenvironmental stress. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is one of the most abundant epitranscriptional modifications and plays important roles in various biological processes. However, the molecular mechanism of m6A modification in the ER stress response is poorly understood. In this study, we first found that ER stress could dramatically elevate m6A methylation levels through XBP1s-dependent transcriptional upregulation of METTL3/METTL14 in breast cancer (BC) cells. Further MeRIP sequencing and relevant validation results confirmed that ER stress caused m6A methylation enrichment on target genes for ER-phagy. Mechanistically, METTL3/METTL14 increased ER-phagy machinery formation by promoting m6A modification of the ER-phagy regulators CALCOCO1 and p62, thus enhancing their mRNA stability. Of note, we further confirmed that the chemotherapeutic drug paclitaxel (PTX) could induce ER stress and increase m6A methylation for ER-phagy. Furthermore, the combination of METTL3/METTL14 inhibitors with PTX demonstrated a significant synergistic therapeutic effect in both BC cells and xenograft mice. Thus, our data built a novel bridge on the crosstalk between ER stress, m6A methylation and ER-phagy. Most importantly, our work provides novel evidence of METTL3 and METTL14 as potential therapeutic targets for PTX sensitization in breast cancer.

Abstract
Wedelolactone (WEL) is a small molecule compound isolated from Eclipta prostrate L., which has been reported to possess various biological activities such as anti-hepatotoxicity, anti-hypertension, anti-tumour, anti-phospholipase A2 and detoxification activity against snake venom. In the present study, we investigated the interaction of WEL with human serum albumin (HSA) using simultaneous fluorescence, UV-visible spectroscopy, 3D fluorescence spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), molecular docking technique and molecular dynamics simulation. We found that the interaction between HSA and WEL can exhibit a static fluorescence burst mechanism, and the binding process is essentially spontaneous, with the main forces manifested as hydrogen bonding, van der Waals force and electrostatic interactions. Competitive binding and molecular docking studies showed that WEL preferentially bound to HSA in substructural region IIA (site I); molecular dynamics simulations showed that HSA interacted with WEL to form a stable complex, which also induced conformational changes in HSA. The study of the interaction between WEL and HSA can provide a reference for a more in-depth study of the pharmacodynamic mechanism of WEL and its further development and utilisation.

Abstract
The reorientation of Earth through rotation of its solid shell relative to its spin axis is known as True polar wander (TPW). It is well-documented at present, but the occurrence of TPW in the geologic past remains controversial. This is especially so for Late Jurassic TPW, where the veracity and dynamics of a particularly large shift remain debated. Here, we report three palaeomagnetic poles at 153, 147, and 141 million years (Myr) ago from the North China craton that document an ~ 12° southward shift in palaeolatitude from 155-147 Myr ago (~1.5° Myr-1), immediately followed by an ~ 10° northward displacement between 147-141 Myr ago (~1.6° Myr-1). Our data support a large round-trip TPW oscillation in the past 200 Myr and we suggest that the shifting back-and-forth of the continents may contribute to the biota evolution in East Asia and the global Jurassic-Cretaceous extinction and endemism.

Abstract
Integration of hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA into the human genome is recognized as an oncogenic factor and a barrier to hepatitis B cure. In the study, biopsy liver tissues were collected from adolescents and young adults with acute HBV infection younger than or equal to 35 years of age and from HBV-infected infant patients younger than or equal to 6 months of age. A high-throughput sequencing method was used to detect HBV DNA integration. Totally, 12 adolescents, young adults, and 6 infants were included. Among the 12 patients with acute HBV infection, immunohistochemical staining of intrahepatic hepatitis B surface antigen for all displayed negative results, and no HBV DNA integrants in the hepatocyte DNA were confirmed. All infant patients had elevated levels of alanine aminotransferase and high levels of serum HBV DNA. Numerous gene sites of hepatocyte DNA were integrated by HBV DNA for each infant patient, ranging from 120 to 430 integration sites. The fragile histidine triad gene was the high-frequency integrated site in the intragenic region for infant patients. In conclusion, hepatocyte DNA is integrated by HBV DNA in babies with active hepatitis B but seems seldom affected among adolescents and young adults with acute HBV infection. Infantile hepatitis B should be taken seriously considering abundant HBV DNA integration events.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study aimed to construct prediction models for the recognizing of anxiety disorders (AD) in patients with epilepsy (PWEs) by combining clinical features with quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) features and using machine learning (ML). METHODS Nineteen clinical features and 20-min resting-state EEG were collected from 71 PWEs comorbid with AD and another 60 PWEs without AD who met the inclusion-exclusion criteria of this study. The EEG were preprocessed and 684 Phase Locking Value (PLV) and 76 Lempel-Ziv Complexity (LZC) features on four bands were extracted. The Fisher score method was used to rank all the derived features. We constructed four models for recognizing AD in PWEs, whether PWEs based on different combinations of features using eXtreme gradient boosting (XGboost) and evaluated these models using the five-fold cross-validation method. RESULTS The prediction model constructed by combining the clinical, PLV, and LZC features showed the best performance, with an accuracy of 96.18%, precision of 94.29%, sensitivity of 98.33%, F1-score of 96.06%, and Area Under the Curve (AUC) of 0.96. The Fisher score ranking results displayed that the top ten features were depression, educational attainment, α_P3LZC, α_T6-PzPLV, α_F7LZC, β_Fp2-O1PLV, θ_T4-CzPLV, θ_F7-PzPLV, α_Fp2LZC, and θ_T4-PzPLV. CONCLUSIONS The model, constructed by combining the clinical and qEEG features PLV and LZC, efficiently identified the presence of AD comorbidity in PWEs and might have the potential to complement the clinical diagnosis. Our findings suggest that LZC features in the α band and PLV features in Fp2-O1 may be potential biomarkers for diagnosing AD in PWEs.

Abstract
PURPOSE Epilepsy is a debilitating disease that can lead to series of social and psychological issues, impairing the quality of life of people with epilepsy (PWE). This survey aimed to investigate the awareness, attitudes, and first-aid knowledge of epilepsy in university students METHOD: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Henan Province, China between January 1 and April 30, 2022. Students majored in education, medicine, science and engineering from 8 universities attended the study. The survey questionnaire comprised 28 questions covering 4 sections: demographic characteristics, awareness of epilepsy, attitudes toward PWE and knowledge of first aid for seizures. RESULTS A total of 2376 university students completed the questionnaire. 94.7% heard of epilepsy. In the first aid knowledge section, individual question was correctly answered by at least 50% students, 9.3% students correctly answered all questions. Attitude toward PWE was independently (R2 =0.108, F=73.227, p < 0.001) associated with both awareness of epilepsy (B=0.411, p < 0.001) and first aid knowledge of epilepsy (B=0.047, p = 0.001). Among the three majors, medical students had more positive attitudes toward PWE than students majored in education, science and engineering (p < 0.05). However, medical students performed worse among the groups when answering the first aid knowledge questions. CONCLUSION This survey showed that university students in Central China had a good awareness of epilepsy. For medical students, improvements are necessary for the awareness of the first aid knowledge for seizure.

Abstract
Searches for new resonances are performed using an unsupervised anomaly-detection technique. Events with at least one electron or muon are selected from 140 fb^{-1} of pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded by ATLAS at the Large Hadron Collider. The approach involves training an autoencoder on data, and subsequently defining anomalous regions based on the reconstruction loss of the decoder. Studies focus on nine invariant mass spectra that contain pairs of objects consisting of one light jet or b jet and either one lepton (e,μ), photon, or second light jet or b jet in the anomalous regions. No significant deviations from the background hypotheses are observed. Limits on contributions from generic Gaussian signals with various widths of the resonance mass are obtained for nine invariant masses in the anomalous regions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Anxiety disorders (AD) are critical factors that significantly (about one-fifth) impact the quality of life (QoL) in patients with epilepsy (PWE). Objective diagnostic methods have contributed to the identification of PWE susceptible to AD. This study aimed to identify AD in PWE by constructing a diagnostic model based on the phase locking value (PLV) and Lempel-Ziv Complexity (LZC) features of the electroencephalogram (EEG). METHODS EEG data from 131 patients with epilepsy (PWE) were enrolled in this study. Patients were divided into two groups, anxiety disorder (AD, n = 61) and non-anxiety disorder (NAD, n = 70), according to the Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HAM-A). Support vector machine (SVM) and K-Nearest-Neighbor(KNN) algorithms were used to construct three models - the PLVEEG, LZCEEG, and PLVEEG + LZCEEG feature models. Finally, the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and statistical analyses were performed to evaluate the model performance. RESULTS The efficiency of the KNN-based PLCEEG + LZCEEG feature model was the best, and the accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC of the model after five-fold cross-validations scores were 87.89 %, 82.27 %, 98.33 %, 88.95 %, and 0.89, respectively. When the model efficiency was optimal, 29 EEG features were suggested. Further analysis of these features indicated 22 EEG features that were significantly different between the two groups, including 50 % features of the alpha (α)-band. CONCLUSIONS The PLVEEG + LZCEEG model features can identify AD in PWE. The PLVEEG and LZCEEG characteristics of the α-band may further be explored as potential biomarkers for AD in PWE.

Abstract
Immunotherapy is restricted by a complex tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment (TIM) and low drug delivery efficiency. Herein, a multifunctional adjuvant micelle nanosystem (PPD/MPC) integrated with broken barriers and re-education of three classes of immune-tolerant cells is constructed for cancer immunotherapy. The nanosystem significantly conquers the penetration barrier via the weakly acidic tumor microenvironment-responsive size reduction and charge reversal strategy. The detached core micelle MPC could effectively be internalized by tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), tumor-infiltrating dendritic cells (TIDCs), and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) via mannose-mediated targeting endocytosis and electrostatic adsorption pathways, promoting the re-education of immunosuppressive cells for allowing them to reverse from pro-tumor to antitumor phenotypes by activating TLR4/9 pathways. This process in turn leads to the remodeling of TIM. In vitro and in vivo studies collectively indicate that the adjuvant micelle-based nanosystem not only relieves the intricate immune tolerance and remodels TIM via reprogramming the three types of immunosuppressive cells and regulating the secretion of relevant cytokines/immunity factors but also strengthens immune response and evokes immune memory, consequently suppressing the tumor growth and metastasis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND RNA modifications have been proven to play fundamental roles in regulating cellular biology process. Recently, maladjusted N7-methylguanosine (m7G) modification and its modifiers METTL1/WDR4 have been confirmed an oncogene role in multiple cancers. However, the functions and molecular mechanisms of METTL1/WDR4 in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain to be determined. METHODS METTL1/WDR4 expression levels were quantified using qRT-PCR, western blot analysis on AML clinical samples, and bioinformatics analysis on publicly available AML datasets. CCK-8 assays and cell count assays were performed to determine cell proliferation. Flow cytometry assays were conducted to assess cell cycle and apoptosis rates. Multiple techniques were used for mechanism studies in vitro assays, such as northern blotting, liquid chromatography-coupled mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), tRNA stability analysis, transcriptome sequencing, small non-coding RNA sequencing, quantitative proteomics, and protein synthesis measurements. RESULTS METTL1/WDR4 are significantly elevated in AML patients and associated with poor prognosis. METTL1 knockdown resulted in reduced cell proliferation and increased apoptosis in AML cells. Mechanically, METTL1 knockdown leads to significant decrease of m7G modification abundance on tRNA, which further destabilizes tRNAs and facilitates the biogenesis of tsRNAs in AML cells. In addition, profiling of nascent proteins revealed that METTL1 knockdown and transfection of total tRNAs that were isolated from METTL1 knockdown AML cells decreased global translation efficiency in AML cells. CONCLUSIONS Taken together, our study demonstrates the important role of METTL1/WDR4 in AML leukaemogenesis, which provides a promising target candidate for AML therapy.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WZγ production and a measurement of its cross section using 140.1±1.2 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The WZγ production cross section, with both the W and Z bosons decaying leptonically, pp→WZγ→ℓ^{'}^{±}νℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}γ (ℓ^{(^{'})}=e, μ), is measured in a fiducial phase-space region defined such that the leptons and the photon have high transverse momentum and the photon is isolated. The cross section is found to be 2.01±0.30(stat)±0.16(syst) fb. The corresponding standard model predicted cross section calculated at next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and at leading order in the electroweak coupling constant is 1.50±0.06 fb. The observed significance of the WZγ signal is 6.3σ, compared with an expected significance of 5.0σ.

Abstract
Chemodynamic therapy (CDT) is seriously limited by the inadequacy of exogenous catalytic ions and endogenous H2O2 in tumors. Herein, a multifunction nano-bomb integrated with calcium peroxide (CaO2) and β-lapachone as donors of H2O2 and GSH-sensitive Fe-based coordination polymer as provider of catalytic ions was constructed for dual cascade-amplified tumor CDT. This hyaluronic acid (HA)-modified nano-bomb could be specially endocytosed by breast cancer cells through a targeting pathway, degraded and released cargoes in response to the GSH-rich cytoplasm. Furthermore, the released CaO2 and β-lapachone could significantly self-generated sufficient H2O2, which could dual-cascade amplify CDT and induce severe oxidative to tumors via cooperating with the delivered iron ions from nano-bombs. Moreover, the unloaded iron and calcium ions could further accelerate tumor damage by overloading Ca2+ and ferroptosis, as accompanied by good magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In vitro and in vivo studies collectively reveal that this nano-bomb not only self-initiates double cascade-amplified CDT via self-generation of H2O2, but also efficiently activates ferroptosis and initiates Ca2+ overloading, consequently significantly tumor growth suppression. This study offers a novel tumor-initiated nano-bomb for dual cascade-amplified CDT and bioimaging with activated ferroptosis and self-supplying H2O2.

Abstract
AIM To evaluate whether abnormalities in white matter (WM) integrity are present in young children with epilepsy. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twelve children (3-6 years old) with epilepsy and six matched healthy controls were recruited for brain diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). Track-based spatial statistics (TBSS) was used to analyse and compare DTI indices of mean diffusivity (MD), fractional anisotropy (FA), axial and radial diffusivity (AD/RD) between patients and controls, and correlations between clinical variables and DTI parameters were analysed. RESULTS Compared with controls, patients showed increased FA in the left superior corona radiata and increased AD in the bilateral superior corona radiata. In children with generalised epilepsy, FA was increased in the left external capsule, while AD was decreased in the body of the corpus callosum, the left external capsule and the left superior longitudinal fasciculus. In those with focal epilepsy, FA was increased in the genu and body of the corpus callosum, and RD was decreased in the genu of the corpus callosum and left external capsule. Compared with partial epilepsy, generalised epilepsy was associated with increased FA in the right anterior corona radiata and decreased RD in the right anterior corona radiata and the genu and body of the corpus callosum. No significant correlations were observed between clinical variables and DTI parameters. CONCLUSIONS The results of this study indicate that the microstructure of the white matter is disturbed by epileptic discharges and a compensatory response occurs during early brain development.

Abstract
A measurement of the mass of the Higgs boson combining the H→ZZ^{*}→4ℓ and H→γγ decay channels is presented. The result is based on 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector during LHC run 2 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV combined with the run 1 ATLAS mass measurement, performed at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, yielding a Higgs boson mass of 125.11±0.09(stat)±0.06(syst)=125.11±0.11 GeV. This corresponds to a 0.09% precision achieved on this fundamental parameter of the Standard Model of particle physics.

Abstract
A search for events with a dark photon produced in association with a dark Higgs boson via rare decays of the standard model Z boson is presented, using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The dark boson decays into a pair of dark photons, and at least two of the three dark photons must each decay into a pair of electrons or muons, resulting in at least two same-flavor opposite-charge lepton pairs in the final state. The data are found to be consistent with the background prediction, and upper limits are set on the dark photon's coupling to the dark Higgs boson times the kinetic mixing between the standard model photon and the dark photon, α_{D}ϵ^{2}, in the dark photon mass range of [5, 40] GeV except for the ϒ mass window [8.8, 11.1] GeV. This search explores new parameter space not previously excluded by other experiments.

Abstract
Purpose To examine the accuracy of transperineal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-ultrasound (US) fusion biopsy (FB) in identifying men with prostate cancer (PCa) that has reached a clinically relevant stage. Methods This investigation enrolled 459 males. In 210 of these patients (FB group), transperineal MRI/US fusion-guided biopsies were performed on the suspicious region, and in 249 others, a systematic biopsy (SB) was performed (SB group). We compared these groups using Gleason scores and rates of cancer detection. Results PCa cases counted 198/459 (43.1%), including 94/249 (37.8%) in the SB group and 104/210 (49.5%) in the FB group. FB was associated with higher overall diagnostic accuracy relative to SB (88.5% and 72.3%, P = 0.024). FB exhibited greater sensitivity than SB (88.9% and 71.2%, P = 0.025). The area under the curve for FB and SB approaches was 0.837 and 0.737, respectively, such that FB was associated with an 11.9% increase in accuracy as determined based upon these AUC values. Relative to SB, FB was better able to detect high-grade tumors (GS ≥ 7) (78.85% vs. 60.64%, P = 0.025). Conclusion Transperineal MRI-US fusion targeted biopsy is superior to the systematic one as an approach to diagnosing clinically significant PCa, as it is a viable technical approach to prostate biopsy.

Abstract
Secondary xylem produced by stem secondary growth is the main source of tree biomass and possesses great economic and ecological value in papermaking, construction, biofuels, and the global carbon cycle. The secondary xylem formation is a complex developmental process, and the underlying regulatory networks and potential mechanisms are still under exploration. In this study, using hybrid poplar (Populus alba × Populus glandulosa clone 84K) as a model system, we first ascertained three representative stages of stem secondary growth and then investigated the regulatory network of secondary xylem formation by joint analysis of transcriptome and miRNAs. Notably, 7507 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and 55 differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMs) were identified from stage 1 without initiating secondary growth to stage 2 with just initiating secondary growth, which was much more than those identified from stage 2 to stage 3 with obvious secondary growth. DEGs encoding transcription factors and lignin biosynthetic enzymes and those associated with plant hormones were found to participate in the secondary xylem formation. MiRNA-target analysis revealed that a total of 85 DEMs were predicted to have 2948 putative targets. Among them, PagmiR396d-PagGRFs, PagmiR395c-PagGA2ox1/PagLHW/PagSULTR2/PagPolyubiquitin 1, PagmiR482d-PagLAC4, PagmiR167e-PagbHLH62, and PagmiR167f/g/h-PagbHLH110 modules were involved in the regulating cambial activity and its differentiation into secondary xylem, cell expansion, secondary cell wall deposition, and programmed cell death. Our results give new insights into the regulatory network and mechanism of secondary xylem formation.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of single top quarks produced together with a photon, which directly probes the electroweak coupling of the top quark. The analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of 13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Requiring a photon with transverse momentum larger than 20 GeV and within the detector acceptance, the fiducial cross section is measured to be 688±23(stat) _{-71}^{+75}(syst) fb, to be compared with the standard model prediction of 515_{-42}^{+36} fb at next-to-leading order in QCD.

Abstract
In the current industrial revolution, advanced technologies and methods can be effectively utilized for the detection and verification of defects in high-speed steel filament production. This paper introduces an innovative methodology for the precise detection and verification of micro surface defects found in steel filaments through the application of the Eddy current principle. Permanent magnets are employed to generate a magnetic field with a high frequency surrounding a coil of sensors positioned at the filament's output end. The sensor's capacity to detect defects is validated through a meticulous rewinding process, followed by a thorough analysis involving scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Artificial defects were intentionally introduced into a sample, and their amplitudes were monitored to establish a threshold value. The amplitude signal of these created defect was identified at approximately 10% FSH, which corresponds to a crack depth of about 20 µm. In the experimental production of 182 samples covering 38 km, the defect ratio was notably high, standing at 26.37%. These defects appeared randomly along the length of the samples. The verification results underscore the exceptional precision achieved in the detection of micro surface defects within steel filaments. These defects were primarily characterized by longitudinal scratches and inclusions containing physical tungsten carbide.

Abstract
A key open question in the study of multiparticle production in high-energy pp collisions is the relationship between the "ridge"-i.e., the observed azimuthal correlations between particles in the underlying event that extend over all rapidities-and hard or semihard scattering processes. In particular, it is not known whether jets or their soft fragments are correlated with particles in the underlying event. To address this question, two-particle correlations are measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, with an integrated luminosity of 15.8 pb^{-1}, in two different configurations. In the first case, charged particles associated with jets are excluded from the correlation analysis, while in the second case, correlations are measured between particles within jets and charged particles from the underlying event. Second-order flow coefficients, v_{2}, are presented as a function of event multiplicity and transverse momentum. These measurements show that excluding particles associated with jets does not affect the measured correlations. Moreover, particles associated with jets do not exhibit any significant azimuthal correlations with the underlying event, ruling out hard processes contributing to the ridge.

Abstract
A search is made for potential ccc[over ¯]c[over ¯] tetraquarks decaying into a pair of charmonium states in the four muon final state using proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS experiment at LHC. Two decay channels, J/ψ+J/ψ→4μ and J/ψ+ψ(2S)→4μ, are studied. Backgrounds are estimated based on a hybrid approach involving Monte Carlo simulations and data-driven methods. Statistically significant excesses with respect to backgrounds dominated by the single parton scattering are seen in the di-J/ψ channel consistent with a narrow resonance at 6.9 GeV and a broader structure at lower mass. A statistically significant excess is also seen in the J/ψ+ψ(2S) channel. The fitted masses and decay widths of the structures are reported.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of τ-lepton-pair production in ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions Pb+Pb→Pb(γγ→ττ)Pb and constraints on the τ-lepton anomalous magnetic moment a_{τ}. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.44 nb^{-1} of LHC Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment in 2018. Selected events contain one muon from a τ-lepton decay, an electron or charged-particle track(s) from the other τ-lepton decay, little additional central-detector activity, and no forward neutrons. The γγ→ττ process is observed in Pb+Pb collisions with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations and a signal strength of μ_{ττ}=1.03_{-0.05}^{+0.06} assuming the standard model value for a_{τ}. To measure a_{τ}, a template fit to the muon transverse-momentum distribution from τ-lepton candidates is performed, using a dimuon (γγ→μμ) control sample to constrain systematic uncertainties. The observed 95% confidence-level interval for a_{τ} is -0.057

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of phorbol-12-myristate-13-ace-tate (TPA) on the proliferation and apoptosis of acute promyelocytic leukemia cell line NB4 and its molecular mechanism. METHODS The effect of different concentrations of TPA on the proliferation of NB4 cells at different time points was detected by CCK-8 assay. The morphological changes of NB4 cells were observed by Wright-Giemsa staining. The cell cycle and apoptosis of NB4 cells after TPA treatment were detected by flow cytometry. The mRNA expressions of NB4 cells after TPA treatment were analyzed by high-throughput microarray analysis and real-time quantitative PCR. Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of CDKN1A, CDKN1B, CCND1, MYC, Bax, Bcl-2, c-Caspase 3, c-Caspase 9, PIK3R6, AKT and p-AKT. RESULTS Compared with the control group, TPA could inhibit the proliferation of NB4 cells, induce the cells to become mature granulocyte-monocyte differentiation, and also induce cell G1 phase arrest and apoptosis. Differentially expressed mRNAs were significantly enriched in PI3K/AKT pathway. TPA treatment could increase the mRNA levels of CCND1, CCNA1, and CDKN1A, while decrease the mRNA level of MYC. It could also up-regulate the protein levels of CDKN1A, CDKN1B, CCND1, Bax, c-Caspase 3, c-Caspase 9, and PIK3R6, while down-regulate MYC, Bcl-2, and p-AKT in NB4 cells. CONCLUSION TPA induces NB4 cell cycle arrest in G1 phase and promotes its apoptosis by regulating PIK3/AKT signaling pathway.

Abstract
Tumor-dependent glucose and glutamine metabolisms are essential for maintaining survival, while the accordingly metabolic suppressive therapy is limited by the compensatory metabolism and inefficient delivery efficiency. Herein, a functional metal-organic framework (MOF)-based nanosystem composed of the weakly acidic tumor microenvironment-activated detachable shell and reactive oxygen species (ROS)-responsive disassembled MOF nanoreactor core is designed to co-load glycolysis and glutamine metabolism inhibitors glucose oxidase (GOD) and bis-2-(5-phenylacetmido-1,2,4-thiadiazol-2-yl) ethyl sulfide (BPTES) for tumor dual-starvation therapy. The nanosystem excitingly improves tumor penetration and cellular uptake efficiency via integrating the pH-responsive size reduction and charge reversal and ROS-sensitive MOF disintegration and drug release strategy. Furthermore, the degradation of MOF and cargoes release can be self-amplified via additional self-generation H2 O2 mediated by GOD. Last, the released GOD and BPTES collaboratively cut off the energy supply of tumors and induce significant mitochondrial damage and cell cycle arrest via simultaneous restriction of glycolysis and compensatory glutamine metabolism pathways, consequently realizing the remarkable triple negative breast cancer killing effect in vivo with good biosafety via the dual starvation therapy.

Abstract
PURPOSE To determine the effects of various primers on the immediate and long-term bond strength of ceramic-coated ultratranslucent zirconia that is properly or excessively etched. METHODS AND MATERIALS Ceramic-coated zirconia plates were etched with 9.5% hydrofluoric acid (HF) for 2 or 5 minutes, after which the surface morphology and elemental composition were examined. The etched specimens were treated with different primers including methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate (MDP)-only containing primer, silane-only containing primer, MDP and silane-containing ceramic primer as well as MDP and silane-containing adhesive system. For surface contact angle and shear bond strength (SBS) data, the difference between groups was evaluated by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and three-way ANOVA factorial analysis, respectively. The statistical significance level of 0.05 was set and the Tukey test and the Dunnett-T3 test were used for post-hoc multiple comparisons. RESULTS Excessive etching (9.5% HF for 5 minutes) led to overconsumption of the glass layer and exposure of zirconia substrate compared to proper etching (9.5% HF for 2 minutes). Among different primers, the surface contact angle of the silane-only containing primer group was the lowest. The silane-only containing primer and MDP and silane-containing ceramic primer produced higher shear bond strength of properly and excessively etched ceramic-coated zirconia, respectively, both before and after thermal aging. CONCLUSIONS The silane-only containing primer and MDP and silane-containing primer can obtain better immediate and long-term shear bond strength for properly and excessively etched ceramic-coated zirconia, respectively.

Abstract
Aging, often considered a result of random cellular damage, can be accurately estimated using DNA methylation profiles, the foundation of pan-tissue epigenetic clocks. Here, we demonstrate the development of universal pan-mammalian clocks, using 11,754 methylation arrays from our Mammalian Methylation Consortium, which encompass 59 tissue types across 185 mammalian species. These predictive models estimate mammalian tissue age with high accuracy (r > 0.96). Age deviations correlate with human mortality risk, mouse somatotropic axis mutations and caloric restriction. We identified specific cytosines with methylation levels that change with age across numerous species. These sites, highly enriched in polycomb repressive complex 2-binding locations, are near genes implicated in mammalian development, cancer, obesity and longevity. Our findings offer new evidence suggesting that aging is evolutionarily conserved and intertwined with developmental processes across all mammals.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the application of combined gastroscopy and laparoscopy (dual scope) in the treatment of early gastric cancer. Methods: In this descriptive case series study, we retrospectively collected data on 15 patients with cT1b stage gastric cancer who had undergone combined laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery in the 900th Hospital of the People's Liberation Army of China from May 2020 to October 2022. The study cohort comprised nine men and six women of median age 59 (range: 47-76) years and median body mass index 20.9 (range: 18.3-26.2) kg/m2. Seven of the lesions were located on the lesser curvature of the gastric antrum and eight in the gastric angle. All lesions were biopsied for pathological examination and evaluated by endoscopic ultrasonography, followed by endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and laparoscopic regional lymph node dissection. Studied variables included surgical and pathological features, postoperative factors, and outcomes. Results: In this group of patients, the median (range) operative time for ESD was 45 (30-82) minutes, the duration of laparoscopic lymph node dissection (45.1±8.6) minutes, and the median (range) intraoperative blood loss during lymph node dissection 30 (10-80) mL. Of the 13 patients with negative postoperative horizontal margins, four were stage SM1 and had no lymph node metastases (Stage SM1) and nine were Stage SM2, of which had one positive regional lymph node and two received additional standard distal gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy concurrently because of positive ESD specimens (lymph node negative). No lymph node metastases were found in the surgical specimens of these patients. The remaining two patients had positive vertical margins; both had undergone concurrent standard distal gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy. One of them was found to be lymph node positive (No. 3, one node). Four patients had impaired gastric emptying after dual-scope treatment, all of whom recovered well with symptomatic management; one patient with a suspected lymphatic leak was also managed conservatively. There were no cases of postoperative bleeding, abdominal infection, or incisional infection. At a median follow-up of 14 (6-26) months, no tumor recurrence or metastasis had been identified in any of the patients. Three patients had a grade B nutrition score 3 to 6 months after surgery, all of whom had undergone major gastrectomy, and two patients who had undergone dual-scope surgery reported an increase in acid reflux and belching after surgery compared with the preoperative period. Conclusion: A combined technique is safe and feasible for the treatment of early gastric cancer and is worthy of further exploration.

Abstract
Jet quenching is the process of color-charged partons losing energy via interactions with quark-gluon plasma droplets created in heavy-ion collisions. The collective expansion of such droplets is well described by viscous hydrodynamics. Similar evidence of collectivity is consistently observed in smaller collision systems, including pp and p+Pb collisions. In contrast, while jet quenching is observed in Pb+Pb collisions, no evidence has been found in these small systems to date, raising fundamental questions about the nature of the system created in these collisions. The ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider has measured the yield of charged hadrons correlated with reconstructed jets in 0.36 nb^{-1} of p+Pb and 3.6 pb^{-1} of pp collisions at 5.02 TeV. The yields of charged hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>0.5 GeV near and opposite in azimuth to jets with p_{T}^{jet}>30 or 60 GeV, and the ratios of these yields between p+Pb and pp collisions, I_{pPb}, are reported. The collision centrality of p+Pb events is categorized by the energy deposited by forward neutrons from the struck nucleus. The I_{pPb} values are consistent with unity within a few percent for hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>4 GeV at all centralities. These data provide new, strong constraints that preclude almost any parton energy loss in central p+Pb collisions.

Abstract
A search for a long-lived, heavy neutral lepton (N) in 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider is reported. The N is produced via W→Nμ or W→Ne and decays into two charged leptons and a neutrino, forming a displaced vertex. The N mass is used to discriminate between signal and background. No signal is observed, and limits are set on the squared mixing parameters of the N with the left-handed neutrino states for the N mass range 3 GeV

Abstract
A test of CP invariance in Higgs boson production via vector-boson fusion has been performed in the H→γγ channel using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The optimal observable method is used to probe the CP structure of interactions between the Higgs boson and electroweak gauge bosons, as described by an effective field theory. No sign of CP violation is observed in the data. Constraints are set on the parameters describing the strength of the CP-odd component in the coupling between the Higgs boson and the electroweak gauge bosons in two effective field theory bases: d[over ˜] in the HISZ basis and c_{HW[over ˜]} in the Warsaw basis. The results presented are the most stringent constraints on CP violation in the coupling between Higgs and weak bosons. The 95% C.L. constraint on d[over ˜] is derived for the first time and the 95% C.L. constraint on c_{HW[over ˜]} has been improved by a factor of 5 compared to the previous measurement.

Abstract
Targeted protein degradation (TPD) is an emerging therapeutic strategy with the potential to modulate disease-associated proteins that have previously been considered undruggable, by employing the host destruction machinery. The exploration and discovery of cellular degradation pathways, including but not limited to proteasomes and lysosome pathways as well as their degraders, is an area of active research. Since the concept of proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) was introduced in 2001, the paradigm of TPD has been greatly expanded and moved from academia to industry for clinical translation, with small-molecule TPD being particularly represented. As an indispensable part of TPD, biological TPD (bioTPD) technologies including peptide-, fusion protein-, antibody-, nucleic acid-based bioTPD and others have also emerged and undergone significant advancement in recent years, demonstrating unique and promising activities beyond those of conventional small-molecule TPD. In this review, we provide an overview of recent advances in bioTPD technologies, summarize their compositional features and potential applications, and briefly discuss their drawbacks. Moreover, we present some strategies to improve the delivery efficacy of bioTPD, addressing their challenges in further clinical development.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the surgical treatment methods of femoral artery pseudoaneurysm combined with infectious wounds and to evaluate the clinical effects. Methods: The retrospective observational research method was used. Twelve patients with femoral artery pseudoaneurysm combined with infectious wounds who met the inclusion criteria were admitted to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine Wuxi Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital (Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University) from October 2014 to September 2022, including 6 males and 6 females, aged from 46 to 78 years. In the primary operation, debridement, tumor resection, and artery suture/venous grafting to repair the artery/artery ligation were performed, and the wound area after tumor resection ranged from 4.0 cm×1.5 cm to 12.0 cm×6.5 cm. Wounds that could be sutured were treated with tension reduction suture and extracutaneous continuous vacuum sealing drainage (VSD), while large wounds that could not be sutured were treated with VSD to control infection. In the secondary operation, tension reduction suture was performed to repair the wounds that could be sutured; large wounds were repaired with adjacent translocated flaps with area of 9.0 cm×5.0 cm to 15.0 cm×7.0 cm. Additionally, when the length of the exposed femoral artery was equal to or over 3.0 cm, the wounds were repaired with additional rectus femoris muscle flap with length of 15.0 to 18.0 cm. The donor areas of the flaps were directly sutured. The wound with artery ligation was treated with stamp skin grafting and continuous VSD. The bacterial culture results of the wound exudate samples on admission were recorded. The intraoperative blood loss, the location of femoral artery rupture, the artery treatment method, and the wound repair method in the primary operation were recorded, and the durations of catheter lavage, catheter drainage, and VSD treatment, and the drainage volume after the operation were recorded. The repair method of wounds in the secondary operation, the durations of catheter drainage and VSD treatment, and the total drainage volume after the operation were recorded. The survivals of flap/muscle flap/stamp skin grafts were observed, and the wound healing time was recorded. Follow-up after discharge was performed to evaluate the quality of wound healing and the walking function and to check whether the pulsatile mass disappeared. B-ultrasound or computed tomography angiography (CTA) was performed again to observe potential pseudoaneurysm recurrence and evaluate the patency of blood flow of the femoral artery. Results: The bacterial culture results of wound exudate samples of all the patients were positive on admission. The blood loss was 150 to 750 mL in the primary operation. The arterial ruptures were located in the femoral artery in 8 cases, in the external iliac artery in 2 cases, and in the femoral arteriovenous fistula in 2 cases. Six cases received direct artery suture, 4 cases received autologous great saphenous vein grafting to repair the artery, 1 case received autologous great saphenous vein bypass surgery, and 1 case received artery ligation. The primary wound suture was performed in 4 cases, along with catheter lavage for 3 to 5 days, catheter drainage for 4 to 6 days, VSD treatment for 5 to 7 days, and a total drainage volume of 80 to 450 mL after the surgery. In the secondary operation, the wounds were sutured directly in 3 cases along with catheter drainage for 2 to 3 days, the wound was repaired with scalp stamp skin graft and VSD treatment for 5 days in 1 case, the wounds were repaired with adjacent translocated flaps in 2 cases with catheter drainage for 2 to 3 days, and the wounds were repaired with rectus femoris muscle flaps+adjacent translocated flaps in 2 cases with catheter drainage for 3 to 5 days . The total drainage volume after the secondary operation ranged from 150 to 400 mL. All the skin flaps/muscle flaps/skin grafts survived after operation. The wound healing time ranged from 15 to 36 days after the primary operation. Follow-up of 2 to 8 months after discharge showed that the wounds of all patients healed well. One patient who underwent femoral artery ligation had calf amputation due to foot ischemic necrosis, and the rest of the patients regained normal walking ability. The pulsatile mass disappeared in inguinal region of all patients. B-ultrasound or CTA re-examination in 6 patients showed that the blood flow of femoral artery had good patency, and there was no pseudoaneurysm recurrence. Conclusions: Early debridement, tumor resection, and individualized artery treatment should be performed in patients with femoral artery pseudoaneurysm combined with infected wounds. Besides, proper drainage and personalized repair strategy should be conducted according to the wound condition to achieve a good outcome.

Abstract
Fusarium species are important cereal pathogens that cause severe production losses to major cereal crops such as maize, rice, and wheat. However, the causal agents of Fusarium diseases on cereals have not been well documented because of the difficulty in species identification and the debates surrounding generic and species concepts. In this study, we used a citizen science initiative to investigate diseased cereal crops (maize, rice, wheat) from 250 locations, covering the major cereal-growing regions in China. A total of 2 020 Fusarium strains were isolated from 315 diseased samples. Employing multi-locus phylogeny and morphological features, the above strains were identified to 43 species, including eight novel species that are described in this paper. A world checklist of cereal-associated Fusarium species is provided, with 39 and 52 new records updated for the world and China, respectively. Notably, 56 % of samples collected in this study were observed to have co-infections of more than one Fusarium species, and the detailed associations are discussed. Following Koch's postulates, 18 species were first confirmed as pathogens of maize stalk rot in this study. Furthermore, a high-confidence species tree was constructed in this study based on 1 001 homologous loci of 228 assembled genomes (40 genomes were sequenced and provided in this study), which supported the "narrow" generic concept of Fusarium (= Gibberella). This study represents one of the most comprehensive surveys of cereal Fusarium diseases to date. It significantly improves our understanding of the global diversity and distribution of cereal-associated Fusarium species, as well as largely clarifies the phylogenetic relationships within the genus. Abstract
Resistance to epidermal growth factor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKI) remains one of the major challenges in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) therapy. Here, we find an increased frequency of the L12_16 amino acid deletion mutation in the signal peptide region of NOTCH4 (NOTCH4ΔL12_16) in EGFR-TKI-sensitive patients. Functionally, exogenous induction of NOTCH4ΔL12_16 in EGFR-TKI -resistant LUAD cells sensitizes them to EGFR-TKIs. This process is mainly mediated by the reduction of the intracellular domain of NOTCH4 (NICD4) caused by the NOTCH4ΔL12_16 mutation, which results in a lower localization of NOTCH4 in the plasma membrane. Mechanistically, NICD4 transcriptionally upregulates the expression of HES1 by competitively binding to the gene promoter relative to p-STAT3. Because p-STAT3 can downregulate the expression of HES1 in EGFR-TKI-resistant LUAD cells, the reduction of NICD4 induced by NOTCH4ΔL12_16 mutation leads to a decrease in HES1. Moreover, inhibition of the NOTCH4-HES1 pathway using inhibitors and siRNAs abolishes the resistance of EGFR-TKI. Overall, we report that the NOTCH4ΔL12_16 mutation sensitizes LUAD patients to EGFR-TKIs through transcriptional down-regulation of HES1 and that targeted blockade of this signaling cohort could reverse EGFR-TKI -resistance in LUAD, providing a potential approach to overcome resistance to EGFR-TKI -therapy.

Abstract
The type of feedstock and pyrolysis temperature are the main reasons affecting the properties of the resulting biochar. Therefore, this paper investigates the effects of different feedstocks (peanut shell, corn straw and soybean straw) and different pyrolysis temperatures (300, 450 and 600 ℃) on the structural morphology and elemental composition of the resulting biochar. The optimum pyrolysis temperature of 600 ℃ was selected based on the comparison of the adsorption of NFX (norfloxacin) by the biochar prepared at different temperatures. Characterization of biochar materials using x-ray diffractometer, fourier transform infrared spectrometer and scanning electron microscope to study the changes in the physicochemical and structural properties of biochar. The results showed that the pH, surface area and ash content of biochar are increased with increasing temperature. The results of isothermal adsorption and adsorption kinetics experiments showed that the adsorption processes of the three biochar species on NFX were consistent with the Langmuir model and Pseudo-second order kinetic model. The adsorption process occurred in the surface layer of the biochar and was dominated by chemisorption. The inhibition of the adsorption of NFX was more obvious with the higher valence state of cations and the higher ion concentration. The adsorption mechanism of biochar on NFX includes pore filling, hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Ephedrae herba (called Mahuang in China) is the dried herbaceous stem of Ephedra sinica Stapf, Ephedra intermedia Schrenk et C. A. Mey., and Ephedra equisetina Bge. Ephedrae herba has a long history of use as an herb, and it was originally recorded in Sheng Nong's herbal classic. Ephedrae herba has also been widely used as both medicine and food. In the clinic, Ephedrae herba is commonly used for treating colds, bronchial asthma, nasal congestion, and other diseases. AIM OF REVIEW This review aims to provide a systematic summary on the traditional use, chemical constituents, pharmacological effects, clinical applications, quality control, toxicology, and pharmacokinetics of Ephedrae herba to provide a theoretical basis for further reasonable development of Ephedrae herba in clinical practice and creation of new drugs. MATERIALS AND METHODS Information on Ephedrae herba was gathered from various sources, including the scientific databases including CNKI, PubMed, SciFinder and ScienceDirect, classical books on traditional Chinese herbal medicine, Ph.D. and M.Sc. dissertations; Baidu Scholar; and from different professional websites. RESULTS Ephedrae herba is distributed in regions of China and other areas. Ephedra and its compound preparations can be used for colds, bronchial asthma, nasal congestion and other diseases. Approximately 281 chemical constituents have been isolated from Ephedrae herba, including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, polysaccharides, volatile oils, organic acids, and other compounds. Among these constituents, alkaloids and volatile oils are the most abundant and represent the major bioactive constituents. Ephedrae herba possesses multiple pharmacological activities, including diuretic effect, anti-allergic effect, blood pressure regulatory, anti-inflammatory effect, anti-oxidation effect and anti-viral effects. Ephedrine hydrochloride and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride are generally selected as indicators for the quantitative determination of Ephedrae herba. The maximum dosage of Ephedrae herba should not exceed 10 g. If overused, adverse reactions such as palpitations, sweating, irritability and insomnia will occur. CONCLUSIONS Ephedrae herba is an ancient herbal medicine with a broad spectrum of pharmacological activities that has been used for thousands of years in China. It is one of the most commonly used herbal components of the TCM formulas. Hydrochloride and pseudoephedrine are the major bioactive constituents. However, there is a need to further understand the mechanisms of active components of Ephedrae herba. Future studies should perform an in-depth analyses of the pharmacokinetics and mechanisms of toxicity of Ephedrae herba. Quality standards should be developed to correspond to the various application methods to ensure the efficacy of drugs in actual treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Available data regarding cardiomyopathy in patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis (ALC) are very limited because it often requires multidisciplinary assessments. The study aims to evaluate the prevalence of alcoholic cardiomyopathy in ALC and their clinical correlations. METHODS Adult ALC patients without a previous diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases between January 2010 and December 2019 were included in the study. The prevalence rate of alcoholic cardiomyopathy in patients with ALC was calculated together with a 95% confidence interval (CI) using the Clopper-Pearson exact method. RESULTS A total of 1022 ALC patients were included. Male patients predominated (90.5%). ECG abnormalities were observed in 353 patients (34.5%). Prolonged QT interval was most common in ALC patients with ECG abnormalities, which occurred in 109. Thirty-five ALC patients underwent the cardiac MRI examination and only one patient was found with cardiomyopathy. The estimated prevalence rate of alcoholic cardiomyopathy in all the ALC patients was 0.0286 (95% CI, 0.0007-0.1492). There was no statistical difference regarding the prevalence rate between the group of patients with ECG abnormalities and the group without ECG abnormalities (0.0400 vs. 0.0000, P = 1.000). CONCLUSION Although ECG abnormalities, especially QT prolongation, existed in a proportion of ALC patients, cardiomyopathy in the patient population was not common. Further larger-sample studies based on cardiac MRI are needed to verify our results.

Abstract
Fertilizer application can increase yields, but nutrient runoff may cause environmental pollution and affect soil quality. A network-structured nanocomposite used as a soil conditioner is beneficial to crops and soil. However, the relationship between the soil conditioner and soil microbes is unclear. We evaluated the soil conditioner's impact on nutrient loss, pepper growth, soil improvement, and, especially, microbial community structure. High-throughput sequencing was applied to study the microbial communities. The microbial community structures of the soil conditioner treatment and the CK were significantly different, including in diversity and richness. The predominant bacterial phyla were Pseudomonadota, Actinomycetota, and Bacteroidota. Acidobacteriota and Chloroflexi were found in significantly higher numbers in the soil conditioner treatment. Ascomycota was the dominant fungal phylum. The Mortierellomycota phylum was found in significantly lower numbers in the CK. The bacteria and fungi at the genus level were positively correlated with the available K, available N, and pH, but were negatively correlated with the available P. Our results showed that the loss of nutrients controlled by the soil conditioner increased available N, which improved soil properties. Therefore, the microorganisms in the improved soil were changed. This study provides a correlation between improvements in microorganisms and the network-structured soil conditioner, which can promote plant growth and soil improvement.

Abstract
By combining surface molecular imprinting technology with cysteine-modified ZnS quantum dots, an elegant, molecularly imprinted cysteine-modified Mn2+: ZnS QDs (MIP@ZnS QDs) based fluorescence sensor was successfully developed. The constructed fluorescence sensor is based on a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) coated on the surface cysteine-modified ZnS quantum dots and used for rapid fluorescence detection of dopamine hydrochloride. The MIP@ZnS quantum dots possess the advantages of rapid response, high sensitivity, and selectivity for the detection of dopamine hydrochloride molecules. Experimental results show that the adsorption equilibrium time of MIP@ZnS QDs for dopamine hydrochloride molecules is 12 min, and it can selectively capture and bind dopamine in the sample with an imprinting factor of 29.5. The fluorescence quenching of MIP@ZnS QDs has a good linear (R2 = 0.9936) with the concentration of dopamine hydrochloride ranged from 0.01 to 1.0 μM, and the limit of detection is 3.6 nM. In addition, The MIP@ZnS QDs demonstrate good recyclability and stability and are successfully employed for detection of dopamine hydrochloride in urine samples with recoveries was 95.2% to 103.8%. The proposed MIP@ZnS QDs based fluorescent sensor provides a promising approach for food safety detection and drug analysis.

Abstract
This study aimed to explore protective efficacy of Athelia rolfsii exopolysaccharides (AEPS) to mice kidney against lead-exposed injury with a focus on the role of nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway. Lead accumulation in the kidney induces oxidative stress which causes low antioxidant activity, abnormal pathological changes, and apoptosis. Here, the changes in lead levels in the kidney and whole blood proved that AEPS inhibited lead accumulation. It might be related to AEPS enhancing glutathione (GSH) levels and glutathione-s-transferase (GST) activities, as well as the protein abundances of multidrug resistance-associated protein 1 (MRP1) and multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 (MRP2). Moreover, AEPS increased antioxidant activity by upregulating superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) activities, downregulating malondialdehyde (MDA) levels. It also restored kidney function by decreasing blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine (CRE) levels in the serum. Histopathologic analysis showed that AEPS alleviated the kidney injury induced by lead, too. AEPS also showed anti-apoptosis effect by downregulating caspase-3 and bax expression and upregulating bcl-2 expression. Importantly, AEPS activated Nrf2 signaling pathway by promoting nuclear translocation of Nrf2. However, all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA), an Nrf2 inhibitor, reversed the effects on AEPS to activation of Nrf2, enhancement of antioxidant, alleviation of kidney injury, restoration of kidney function, prevention of apoptotic, and facilitation of lead exclusion. In brief, AEPS showed kidney protective effect and facilitated lead-expulsion in an Nrf2-dependent manner.
