Association between per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease: A nested case-control study in northwest China. Abstract
Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been reported to have hepatotoxic effects. However, it is unclear whether they are linked to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This nested case-control study focused on the epidemiological links between PFAS and the prevalence of NAFLD. We selected 476 new cases of NAFLD and 952 age- and sex-matched controls from the Jinchang cohort population between 2014 and 2019. Serum concentrations of PFAS were measured using high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). Only PFAS with a detection rate of ≥90 % were included for analysis, which included PFPeA, PFOA, PFNA, PFHxS, PFOS, and 9Cl-PF3ONS. The relationship between single and co-exposure to PFAS and the occurrence of NAFLD was evaluated using conditional logistic regression, Quantile g-computation (QgC), and Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) model. Logistic regression indicated that PFPeA, PFOA, and 9Cl-PF3ONS were positive correlation with the incidence of NAFLD after adjusting for confounders, with odds ratios (OR) and 95 % confidence interval (CI) of 3.13 (95 % CI: 2.53, 3.86), 1.39 (95 % CI: 1.12, 1.73), and 1.41 (95 % CI: 1.20, 1.66), respectively. PFNA, PFHxS, and PFOS were nonlinearly and negatively associated with the incidence of NAFLD, with OR (95 % CI) of 0.53 (0.46, 0.62), 0.83 (0.73, 0.95), and 0.52 (0.44, 0.61), respectively. QgC showed a significant joint effect of PFAS mixture on NAFLD onset (OR: 1.52, 95 % CI: 1.24, 1.88). BKMR showed a weak positive trend between PFAS mixtures and NAFLD incidence. Positive correlations were primarily driven by PFPeA and 9Cl-PF3ONS, while negative correlations were mainly influenced by PFNA and PFOS. The BKMR model also suggested that there was an interaction between PFOS and PFNA and other four PFAS compounds. In conclusion, our findings suggest that individual and co-exposure to PFAS is associated with a risk of NAFLD onset.

Abstract
Despite the significance of chiral allene skeletons in catalysis, organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry et al., there is a scarcity of reports on axially chiral allenyl phosphorus compounds. Here, we disclosed an efficient and straightforward cascade reaction between ethynyl ketones and phosphine oxides, resulting in a broad array of trisubstituted allenes incorporating a phosphorus moiety in high yields with excellent stereoselectivities facilitated by peptide-mimic phosphonium salt (PPS) catalysis, Additionally, comprehensive series of mechanistic experiments have been conducted to elucidate that this cascade reaction proceeds via an asymmetric Pudovik addition reaction followed by a subsequent phospha-Brook rearrangement that occurs concomitantly with kinetic resolution, representing a stereospecific rearrangement and protonation process facilitating central-to-axial chirality transfer in a cascade manner. We anticipate that our research will pave the way for a promising exploration of novel stereo-induction pattern in the Pudovik addition/phospha-Brook rearrangement cascade reaction.

Abstract
Ovarian cancer accounts for more deaths than any other female reproductive tract cancer. The major reasons for the high mortality rates include delayed diagnoses and drug resistance. Hence, improved diagnostic and therapeutic options for ovarian cancer are a pressing need. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), that include exosomes provide hope in both diagnostic and therapeutic aspects. They are natural lipid nanovesicles secreted by all cell types and carry molecules that reflect the status of the parent cell. This facilitates their potential use as biomarkers for an early diagnosis. Additionally, EVs can be loaded with exogenous cargo, and have features such as high stability and favorable pharmacokinetic properties. This makes them ideal for tumor-targeted delivery of biological moieties. The International Society of Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV) based on the Minimal Information for Studies on Extracellular Vesicles (MISEV) recommends the usage of the term "small extracellular vesicles (sEVs)" that includes exosomes for particles that are 30-200 nm in size. However, majority of the studies reported in the literature and relevant to this review have used the term "exosomes". Therefore, this review will use the term "exosomes" interchangeably with sEVs for consistency with the literature and avoid confusion to the readers. This review, initially summarizes the different isolation and detection techniques developed to study ovarian cancer-derived exosomes and the potential use of these exosomes as biomarkers for the early diagnosis of this devastating disease. It addresses the role of exosome contents in the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer, discusses strategies to limit exosome-mediated ovarian cancer progression, and provides options to use exosomes for tumor-targeted therapy in ovarian cancer. Finally, it states future research directions and recommends essential research needed to successfully transition exosomes from the laboratory to the gynecologic-oncology clinic.

Abstract
Chiral secondary alcohols, serving as essential structural motifs, hold significant potential for diverse applications. The exploration of effective synthetic strategies toward these compounds is both attractive and challenging. Herein, we present an asymmetric oxa-Michael reaction involving aliphatic alcohols as nucleophiles and β-fluoroalkyl vinylsulfones catalyzed by bifunctional phosphonium salt (BPS), achieving high yields and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 98% yield and 98% ee). Additionally, a sequential process including asymmetric oxa-Michael and debenzylation, facilitated by BPS/Lewis acid cooperation, was revealed for synthesizing diverse chiral secondary alcohol compounds in high yields (81-88%) with consistent stereoselectivities. Furthermore, mechanistic explorations and subsequent results unveiled that the enantioselectivity originates from hydrogen-bonding and ion-pair interactions between the BPS catalyst and the substrates.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The incidence of cancer diagnosed during pregnancy is increasing. Data relating to investigation and management, as well as maternal and foetal outcomes is lacking in a United Kingdom (UK) population. METHODS In this retrospective study we report data from 119 patients diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy from 14 cancer centres in the UK across a five-year period (2016-2020). RESULTS Median age at diagnosis was 33 years, with breast, skin and haematological the most common primary sites. The majority of cases were new diagnoses (109 patients, 91.6%). Most patients were treated with radical intent (96 patients, 80.7%), however, gastrointestinal cancers were associated with a high rate of palliative intent treatment (63.6%). Intervention was commenced during pregnancy in 68 (57.1%) patients; 44 (37%) had surgery and 31 (26.1%) received chemotherapy. Live births occurred in 98 (81.7%) of the cases, with 54 (55.1%) of these delivered by caesarean section. Maternal mortality during the study period was 20.2%. CONCLUSIONS This is the first pan-tumour report of diagnosis, management and outcomes of cancer diagnosed during pregnancy in the UK. Our findings demonstrate proof of concept that data collection is feasible and highlight the need for further research in this cohort of patients.

Abstract
The rough morphology at the growth surface results in the non-uniform distribution of indium composition, intentionally or unintentionally doped impurity, and thus impacts the performance of GaN-based optoelectronic and vertical power electronic devices. We observed the morphologies of unintentionally doped GaN homo-epitaxially grown via MOCVD and identified the relations between rough surfaces and the miscut angle and direction of the substrate. The growth kinetics under the effect of the Ehrlich-Schwoebel barrier were studied, and it was found that asymmetric step motions in samples with a large miscut angle or those grown at high temperature were the causes of step-bunching. Meandering steps were believed to be caused by surface free energy minimization for steps with wide terraces or deviating from the [11¯00] m-direction.

Abstract
A high ethanol usage of alcohol oxidase (AOX) was required in industry. In this study, a "expand substrate pocket" strategy achieved a high activity AOX from Hansenula polymorpha (H. polymorpha) by Phe to Val residue (F/V) site-directed mutation to enlarge ethanol channel. Although H. Polymorpha AOX (HpAOX) possessed respectively 71.3% and 76.1% similarity with AOX (PpAOX) from Pichia pastoris (P. pastoris) in DNA and protein sequences, their active site structures including catalytic site and substrate channel were similar according to computer-aided analysis. After 3D structure analysis, Phe99 residue of their substrate channels was the most important residue to impact enzyme activity because of its large aromatic side chains. F99V mutation of HpAOX (HpAOXF99V) was designed and executed based on the enzyme catalytic mechanism and molecular computation in order to allow more larger size ethanol into active site. The highest enzyme activity of the fourth strains of HpAOXF99V mutant strain exhibited 12.06-folds increase than that of the host GS115 strain. Furthermore, kinetic studies indicated that the HpAOXF99V significantly promoted catalytic efficiency of ethanol than HpAOX, including Km, Vmax, kcat and kcat/Km. We also provided a new insight that the cofactor FAD irritated both active AOX octamer biosynthesis production and enzyme-catalysed ability due to help enzyme assembly and redox potential.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION We examined the association between physical activity (PA) and sedentary behavior (SEB) time with bone health and whether it changes depending on different patterns. MATERIALS AND METHODS Cross-sectional data were derived from the baseline of the Physical Activity and Health in Older Women Study. PA and SEB were measured using Actigraph wGT3X-BT accelerometers. Bone mineral density (BMD) was derived from the SONOST-2000 ultrasound bone densitometer, with unhealthy bone defined as a BMD T-score of <2.5 standard deviation a young adult reference population's mean. A 10 min-bouted SEB was defined as an SEB duration of >10 min (allow 2 min 0 counts), similar to 30 min-bouted and 60 min-bouted SEBs. Sporadic and bouted PAs were defined by PA duration of <10 min or ≥ 10 min. Multivariate logistic regression analysis investigated the associations between PA and SEB patterns with bone health. RESULTS Among 1111 female participants, 42.12 % had unhealthy bones. In a fully-adjusted model, increasing 30 min/day of SEB was associated with a higher odds ratio (OR) for an unhealthy bone (OR, 1.08; P = 0.005), similar to the 10 (OR, 1.06; P = 0.012), 30 (OR, 1.06; P = 0.043), and 60 min-bouted (OR 1.08, P = 0.032) SEBs. Total light PA (LPA) time (OR, 0.97; P = 0.005) had a lower OR for unhealthy bone. After adjusting for sporadic LPA time, bouted LPA (OR, 0.97; P = 0.005) retained this association. No association was observed between total moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) and bone health, sporadic MVPA, and bouted MVPA. CONCLUSIONS Performing bouted LPA and reducing 10 min-bouted SEB may maintain bone health.

Abstract
Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell and play important roles in multiple cellular processes including cell metabolism, proliferation, and programmed cell death. Mitochondria are double-membrane organelles with the inner membrane folding inward to form cristae. Mitochondria networks undergo dynamic fission and fusion. Deregulation of mitochondrial structure has been linked to perturbed mitochondrial membrane potential and disrupted metabolism, as evidenced in tumorigenesis, neurodegenerative diseases, etc. Actin and its motors-myosins have long been known to generate mechanical forces and participate in short-distance cargo transport. Accumulating knowledge from biochemistry and live cell/electron microscope imaging has demonstrated the role of actin filaments in pre-constricting the mitochondria during fission. Recent studies have suggested the involvement of myosins in cristae maintenance and mitochondria quality control. Here, we review current findings and discuss future directions in the emerging fields of cytoskeletal regulation in cristae formation, mitochondrial dynamics, intracellular transport, and mitocytosis, with focus on the actin cytoskeleton and its motor proteins.

Abstract
Peptide stapling is recognized as an effective strategy for improving the proteolytic stability and cell permeability of peptides. In this study, we present a novel approach for the site-selective unsymmetric perfluoroaryl stapling of Ser and Cys residues in unprotected peptides. The stapling reaction proceeds smoothly under very mild conditions, exhibiting a remarkably rapid reaction rate. It can furnish stapled products in both liquid and solid phases, and the presence of nucleophilic groups other than Cys thiol within the peptide does not impede the reaction, resulting in uniformly high yields. Importantly, the chemoselective activation of Ser β-C(sp3)-H enables the unreacted -OH to serve as a reactive handle for subsequent divergent modification of the staple moiety with various therapeutic functionalities, including a clickable azido group, a polar moiety, a lipid tag, and a fluorescent dye. In our study, we have also developed a visible-light-induced chemoselective C(sp3)-H polyfluoroarylation of the Ser β-position. This reaction avoids interference with the competitive reaction of Ser -OH, enabling the precise late-stage polyfluoroarylative modification of Ser residues in various unprotected peptides containing other highly reactive amino acid residues. The biological assay suggested that our peptide stapling strategy would potentially enhance the proteolytic stability and cellular permeability of peptides.

Hemodynamic study on the therapeutic effects of varying diameter embolic coils in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms. Abstract
Endovascular coiling is the predominant method for treating cerebral aneurysms. Extensive reports on selecting coil length, hardness, and material are available. However, the impact of coil diameter on postoperative outcomes remains unclear. This study enrolled six personalized geometric models of intracranial aneurysms: three bifurcation aneurysms and three sidewall aneurysms. Four coil models were constructed by changing the coil diameter. Coil embolization was simulated using the finite element method. Computational fluid dynamics was used to characterize hemodynamics in the aneurysms after embolization. Evaluation parameters included velocity reduction, wall shear stress (WSS), low WSS (LWSS), oscillatory shear index (OSI), relative residence time (RRT), and residual flow volume in the aneurysms. At the peak time (t = 0.17 s), the proportion of LWSS area in bifurcation aneurysms increase with the rise in coil diameter: 0.8D, 71.28 ± 12.62% versus 1D, 74.97 ± 19.17% versus 1.2D, 78.88 ± 18.56% versus 1.4D, 84.00 ± 11.53% (mean ± SD). The proportion of high OSI area decreases as the coil diameter increases: 0.8D, 4.41% ± 2.82% versus 1.0D, 3.78 ± 3.33% versus 1.2D, 2.28% ± 1.77% versus 1.4D, 1.58% ± 1.11% (mean ± SD). The proportion of high RRT area increases as the coil diameter rises: 0.8D, 3.40% ± 1.68% versus 1.0D, 7.67 ± 4.12% versus 1.2D, 9.84% ± 9.50% versus 1.4D, 22.29% ± 14.28% (mean ± SD). Side wall aneurysms do not exhibit the aforementioned trend. Bifurcation aneurysms plugged with a coil of 1.4 times the diameter have the largest RFVs (<10 mm/s) within the group. Aforementioned patterns are not found in sidewall aneurysms. In the treatment of aneurysms with coiling, varying coil diameters can result in different hemodynamic environments within the aneurysm. Larger coil diameters have improved hemodynamic performance for bifurcation aneurysms. However, coil diameter and embolization effectiveness have no significant relationship for sidewall aneurysms.

Abstract
The rapid development of marine aquaculture has led to the increased use and release of antibiotics into the marine environment, consequently contributing to the emergence of antibiotic resistance. Information on antibiotic resistance in nearshore marine aquaculture areas remains limited, and research on the microbial composition and potential hosts of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in marine aquaculture areas is scarce. This study used SmartChip real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR and qPCR to quantitatively analyze 44 ARGs and 10 mobile genetic elements (MGEs) genes in 12 sampling points in the nearshore aquaculture area of Wenchang. High-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA was used to study microbial diversity in the study area, to clarify the correlation between ARGs, MGEs, and microbial diversity, and to determine the possible sources and potential hosts of ARGs. The results showed that a total of 37 ARGs and 8 MGEs were detected in the study area. The detection rate of 9 ARGs (aac(6')-Ib(aka aacA4)-02, catA1, cmlA, cfr, sul1, sul2, sulA/folP-01, tetC, tetX) was 100 %. The absolute abundance of ARGs in the 12 sampling points ranged from 2.75 × 107 to 3.79 × 1010 copies·L-1, and the absolute abundance of MGEs was 1.30 × 105 to 2.54 × 107 copies·L-1, which was relatively high compared to other research areas. ARGs and MGEs were significantly correlated, indicating that MGEs play an important role as a mediator in the spread of ARGs. At the phylum level, Proteobacteria and Cyanobacteria were the dominant bacteria in the study area, with HIMB11 and unidentifiedChloroplast being the dominant levels, respectively. Network analysis of ARGs and microorganisms (genus level) revealed that Cognatishimia, Thalassobius, Aestuariicoccus, Thalassotalea, and Vibrio were significantly correlated with multiple ARGs and were the main potential hosts of ARGs in the nearshore waters of Wenchang.

Abstract
Tumor metastasis involves cells migrating directionally in response to external chemical signals. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the form of H2O2 has been demonstrated as a chemoattractant for neutrophils but its spatial characteristics in tumor microenvironment and potential role in tumor cell dissemination remain unknown. Here we investigate the spatial ROS distribution in 3D tumor spheroids and identify a ROS concentration gradient in spheroid periphery, which projects into a H2O2 gradient in tumor microenvironment. We further reveal the role of H2O2 gradient to induce chemotaxis of tumor cells by activating Src and subsequently inhibiting RhoA. Finally, we observe that the absence of mitochondria cristae remodeling proteins including the mitochondria-localized actin motor Myosin 19 (Myo19) enhances ROS gradient and promotes tumor dissemination. Myo19 downregulation is seen in many tumors, and Myo19 expression is negatively associated with tumor metastasis in vivo. Together, our study reveals the chemoattractant role of tumor microenvironmental ROS and implies the potential impact of mitochondria cristae disorganization on tumor invasion and metastasis.

Abstract
Artificial precipitation enhancement (APE) activities have been applied extensively around the world to enhance water resources. However, the transport way of the silver iodide catalyst utilized remains completely unknown. To address this issue, in this study, we monitored the content of silver ions (Ag+) in a water body under the influence of APE for a period of 16 years (2004-2019). Additionally, we monitored the content of silver ions in the multi-period rainfall and soil. Our findings indicate that after the APE operation, the detected silver content in the precipitation initially demonstrated an upward trend and then decreased to 0. Furthermore, we observed that some of the silver ions remained in the air for a period extending from the time of artificial rain till the next rain. The silver ion content in the soil during the flood season was elevated by 44 % in comparison to the non-operation period; the concentration of silver ions in the water body during the operation period was 42.86 % higher than that in the non-operation period. During the long-term study, spanning 16 years, the water body played a leading role in regulating the content of silver ions released by the APE, resulting in an increase in silver ion content by 3.3 %. Our results revealed the presence of silver in the precipitation after the APE operation, indicating that silver iodide initially entered the precipitation after catalysis. Furthermore, upon the comparison of the soil and surface water during the operation period and non-operation period, the silver content during the operation period was observed to be higher than that in the non-operation period, indicating that silver iodide was incorporated into the underlying surface from the precipitation. Therefore, we have concluded that the transport pathway of silver involves its initial entry into precipitation after sowing, subsequently descending with the precipitation to reach the soil and surface water. The findings of this study establish a scale ruler for the impact of increasing global APE activities on the environment, as well as first-hand data for preventing possible future environmental risks.

Abstract
The diaryl ether represents a prevalent structural motif found in numerous biologically active molecules. Herein, we describe a dirhodium-catalyzed C(sp2)-O cross coupling reaction between diazo quinones and phenols for the construction of diaryl ethers in moderate to high yields. The reaction proceeds under mild and neutral conditions and is tolerant of various functional groups. The synthetic method has been successfully applied to the concise synthesis of a Navl.7 inhibitor.

Abstract
Multidrug resistance (MDR) is an inevitable clinical problem in chemotherapy due to the activation of abundant P-glycoprotein (P-gp) that can efflux drugs. Limitations of current cancer therapy highlight the need for the development of a comprehensive cancer treatment strategy, including drug-resistant cancers. Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) possess significant potential in surmounting drug resistance as they can effectively evade the efflux mechanism and transport small molecules directly to MDR cancer cells. One mechanism mediating MDR in cancer cells is sustaining increased levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and maintenance of the redox balance with antioxidants, including glutathione (GSH). Herein, we developed GSH-depleting benzoyloxy dibenzyl carbonate (B2C)-encapsulated sEVs (BsEVs), which overcome the efflux system to exert highly potent anticancer activity against human MDR ovarian cancer cells (OVCAR-8/MDR) by depleting GSH to induce oxidative stress and, in turn, apoptotic cell death in both OVCAR-8/MDR and OVCAR-8 cancer cells. BsEVs restore drug responsiveness by inhibiting ATP production through the oxidation of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide with hydrogen (NADH) and inducing mitochondrial dysfunction, leading to the dysfunction of efflux pumps responsible for drug resistance. In vivo studies showed that BsEV treatment significantly inhibited the growth of OVCAR-8/MDR and OVCAR-8 tumors. Additionally, OVCAR-8/MDR tumors showed a trend towards a greater sensitivity to BsEVs compared to OVCAR tumors. In summary, this study demonstrates that BsEVs hold tremendous potential for cancer treatment, especially against MDR cancer cells.

Abstract
AIM To assess the diagnostic value of coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) in acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) with coronary artery involvement and to evaluate whether CCTA could provide potentially useful information for selecting the surgical method. MATERIALS AND METHODS Patients with ATAAD treated from January 2019 to December 2020 were reviewed retrospectively. Involvement of the coronary arteries based on CCTA findings were grouped into three major types and five subtypes. Interobserver and intraobserver diagnostic agreement for five subtypes were determined. The patients were divided into the coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and non-CABG groups, and the proportions of the five subtypes between the two groups were compared. RESULTS A total of 95 patients were enrolled in this study. Interobserver and intraobserver diagnostic agreement were both substantial in the left and right coronary arteries. Overall, the proportions of the five subtypes of coronary artery involvement were significantly different between the two groups (p<0.001). The proportion of Type A was elevated in the non-CABG group compared with the CABG group (22.6% versus 71.9%); by contrast, the proportions of Type B1 (35.5% versus 14.1%), Type B2 (19.4% versus 10.9%), Type C1 (6.5% versus 0%), and Type C2 (16.1% versus 3.1%) were elevated in the CABG group. CONCLUSION CCTA is reliable in evaluating coronary artery involvement by ATAAD. The present retrospective study indicated that CABG may be considered if the intimal flap disrupts the coronary orifice and causes luminal stenosis >50%, particularly Type B, or if an intimal tear occurs in the coronary orifice (Type C), which deserve further validation through prospective studies.

Abstract
Autophagy receptor NDP52 triggers bacterial autophagy against infection. However, the ability of NDP52 to protect against viral infection has not been established. We show that NDP52 binds to envelope proteins of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and triggers a degradation process that promotes HBV clearance. Inactivating NDP52 in hepatocytes results in decreased targeting of viral envelopes in the lysosome and increased levels of viral replication. NDP52 inhibits HBV at both viral entry and late replication stages. In contrast to NDP52-mediated bacterial autophagy, lysosomal degradation of HBV envelopes is independent of galectin 8 and ATG5. NDP52 forms complex with Rab9 and viral envelope proteins and links HBV to Rab9-dependent lysosomal degradation pathway. These findings reveal that NDP52 acts as a sensor for HBV infection, which mediates a unique antiviral response to eliminate the virus. This work also suggests direct roles for autophagy receptors in other lysosomal degradation pathways than canonical autophagy.

Abstract
The increasing demand for accurate imaging spectral information in remote sensing detection has driven the development of hyperspectral remote sensing instruments towards a larger view field and higher resolution. As the core component of the spectrometer slit, the designed length reaches tens of millimeters while the precision maintained within the μm level. Such precision requirements pose challenges to traditional machining and laser processing. In this paper, a high-precision air slit was created with a large aspect ratio through MEMS technology on SOI silicon wafers. In particular, a MEMS slit was prepared with a width of 15 μm and an aspect ratio exceeding 4000:1, and a spectral spectroscopy system was created and tested with a Hg-Cd light source. As a result, the spectral spectrum was linear within the visible range, and a spectral resolution of less than 1 nm was obtained. The standard deviation of resolution is only one-fourth of that is seen in machined slits across various view fields. This research provided a reliable and novel manufacturing technique for high-precision air slits, offering technical assistance in developing high-resolution wide-coverage imaging spectrometers.

Abstract
Schizophrenia is a severe psychiatric disorder with an unclear etiology and various clinical manifestations. The diagnosis and consequent treatment of schizophrenia mainly rely on clinical symptoms. Multiple risk sites associated with schizophrenia have been identified, yet objective indicators have not been found to facilitate clinical diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia. The development of omics technology provides different perspectives on the etiology of schizophrenia and make the early identification, diagnosis and treatment of the disorder possible. This article summarizes the prevalence of schizophrenia, reviews the research results and shortcomings of transcriptomics and proteomics, as well as the latest achievements and prospects of multi-omics, aiming to reveal the use of omics in SZ, provide more comprehensive biological evidence to reveal the complex pathogenesis of schizophrenia and provide a theoretical basis for the early identification, accurate diagnosis, disease progression control, and prognosis improvement of schizophrenia.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Patients with bulky urinary tract malignancy have poor prognosis. Stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) needs careful consideration in abdominopelvic bulky tumors because of dose constraints on the OARs. We reported updated clinical outcomes to evaluate the safety and efficacy of partial stereotactic ablative radiotherapy(P-SABR) in bulky urinary tract malignancy. The study also aims to investigate the feasibility of P-SABR in dose and biologic effective dose (BED) escalation inside the tumors with equivalent toxicity. MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 26 patients with urinary tract malignancy underwent P-SABR radiotherapy from January 2013 to September 2018 were retrospectively analyzed in this study. All the patients were in inoperable locally advanced or metastatic stage with tumor diameter > 4.0 cm. The P-SABR plan consisted of the SABR for gross tumor volume boost (GTVb) and following conventionally fractionated radiotherapy for planning target volume (PTV). The first SABR plan to GTVb was delivered in 15-32Gy/3-5f. The second conventionally fractionated radiotherapy plan to PTV was delivered in 40.0-58.08Gy/15-26f. The total P-SABR plan met the OARs constraints. Local control and overall survival were estimated. Acute and late toxicity were evaluated according to RTOG criteria. Paired conventionally fractionated radiotherapy (CFRT) plans were re-designed for all patients, with the same OARs dose constraints and total dose of PTV margin. Dosimetric and BED parameters were compared in P-SABR and paired CFRT plans. RESULTS Median age of the patients was 66.5 years (range, 46-90 years). The tumor treated by P-SABR had a median diameter of 8.4 cm (4.1-19.5 cm) and a median volume of 99.2 cc (23.9-631.8 cc). Median follow-up time was 19.1 months. The local control at 1 and 2 years were 83.2%, 77.3%, respectively. The overall survival at 1 and 2 years were 72.2% ,45.5%, respectively. 6 cases have no local recurrence after 36 months. 4 cases remained alive after 60 months. Local symptoms improved in 15/16 cases after P-SABR. Multivariate analysis showed tumor diameter (≥8cm vs. <8cm) was the independent factor affecting local control and overall survival (P=0.033, P=0.016). No patient was observed radiotherapy directly induced ≥grade 3 toxicity. Compared with the paired CFRT plans, the P-SABR plans had no significant difference in most OAR dose parameters, except for the small intestine/colon V15, V45 with an increase of 14.6 cc, 3.4 cc. However, P-SABR plans increased the dose of PTV Dmean, Dmax by 8.7Gy, 14.4Gy (P < 0.001), respectively. In addition, the dose and BED of GTVb had a significant escalation of 15.8Gy and 30.2Gy (P<0.001) respectively in P-SABR plans. CONCLUSION We had reported P-SABR is well-tolerated in bulky urinary tract malignancy in previous study. Updated outcomes showed P-SABR may have long-term local control in these people. Compared with traditional CFRT plans, P-SABR plans escalated the dose and BED inside bulky tumors with equivalent toxicity.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Ferroptosis is currently a common mode of programmed cell death, and the induction of ferroptosis is a new strategy and idea for current tumor therapy. Therefore, the signaling pathways and genes regulated by ferroptosis are significant markers for current malignant tumor therapy. To construct a prognostic model for predicting the survival prognosis of prostate cancer (PCa) based on the molecules and markers related to ferroptosis, we combined with differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in PCa patients, and further analyze the correlation between this risk score and immune cell infiltration. Finally, to validate the expression of risk genes and analyze the expression and localization of risk genes in using the datasets of single cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq). MATERIALS/METHODS Firstly, we screened the DEGs in PCa patients by the expression profiles of TCGA database. Meanwhile, we collected the information of ferroptosis regulatory genes from FerrDb, and these two parts were intersected. Then the impact of genes on the survival and prognosis of PCa patients was confirmed and selected by LASSO regression, further screening of molecules and fitting the risk format. And the efficacy of the model was evaluated by ROC curves. The immune cell infiltration of PCa tissues was predicted using TIMER. Last, the scRNA-seq of PCa (GSM5155455, GSM3735993) were carried to reveal the expression of risk molecules in different cell types. Besides, the expression of risk molecules was validated using PCa cell lines. RESULTS We found a total of 259 DEGs associated with ferroptosis in PCa tissues. After LASSO regression, we screened DRD5, LINC00336, ACSF2, RRM2, NOX1, GDF15, ALB, MIOX, and NOX4 as variables to establish a prognostic model, and the specific risk scores was calculated following this format: Risk score = (-1.9465)*DRD5+(-1.6806)*LINC00336+(0.3045)*ACSF2+(0.4747)*RRM2+(-0.2815)*NOX1+(-0.1871)* GDF15+(0.1846)*ALB+(0.2676)*MIOX+(0.1648)*NOX4 (lambda.min = 0.0032), with a 10-yr AUC value of 0.751 (95% CI, 0.549-0.953). Furthermore, we discovered the higher the scores, the fewer CD8+ T cells infiltrated as predicting, showing a negative relationship. By testing the gene sets of scRNA-seq forPCa, we discovered that RRM2, GDF15, ALB, and MIOX were mainly expressed in tumor cells, T cells, B cells and neutrophils of PCa tissues, and not in endothelial cells. Finally, we detected differences in protein expression of RRM2, GDF15, and MIOX in PCa cell lines compared to normal prostate cancer epithelium by WB. CONCLUSION We constructed a novel prognostic model for PCa based on ferroptosis-related genes, which showed better predictive validity. And we analyzed the cellular expression of risk genes by scRNA-seq, which will be explored future in relation to prostate cancer radiotherapy.

Abstract
Within the framework of the theory of visual attention (TVA), the visual attention span (VAS) deficit among individuals with developmental dyslexia has been ascribed to the problems entailed by bottom-up (BotU) and top-down (TopD) attentional processes. The former involves two VAS subcomponents: the visual short-term memory storage and perceptual processing speed; the latter consists of the spatial bias of attentional weight and the inhibitory control. Then, what about the influences of the BotU and TopD components on reading? Are there differences in the roles of the two types of attentional processes in reading? This study addresses these issues by using two types of training tasks separately, corresponding to the BotU and TopD attentional components. Three groups of Chinese children with dyslexia-15 children each in the BotU training, TopD training, and non-trained active control groups were recruited here. Participants completed reading measures and a CombiTVA task which was used to estimate VAS subcomponents, before and after the training procedure. Results showed that BotU training improved both the within-category and between-category VAS subcomponents and sentence reading performance; meanwhile, TopD training enhanced character reading fluency through improving spatial attention capacity. Moreover, benefits on attentional capacities and reading skills in the two training groups were generally maintained three months after the intervention. The present findings revealed diverse patterns in the influences of VAS on reading within the TVA framework, which contributes to enriching the understanding of VAS-reading relation.

Safety and Efficacy of Radiotherapy Combined with Chemotherapy for Recurrent Metastatic Renal Pelvic and Ureteral Carcinoma. Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys 2023; 117:e409. Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) To retrospectively investigate the safety and efficacy of radiotherapy combined with systemic chemotherapy for recurrent metastatic renal pelvic and ureteral carcinoma. MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 109 patients were enrolled in this study, including 44 patients in the Radio-chemotherapy group and 65 patients in the Chemotherapy group. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to balance the clinical baseline characteristics of the two groups by 1:1 matching. Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) before and after matching. Prognostic factors were analyzed by Cox proportional risk model. Treatment-related adverse events were graded according to the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE), version 5.0. RESULTS The median follow-up time was 14.5 months. Multivariate analysis showed that radiotherapy was a good independent prognostic factor for OS in patients with recurrent metastatic renal pelvic and ureteral carcinoma (HR: 0.327, 95% CI: 0.157∼0.680, P = 0.003). After matching, there were 40 patients in the Radio-chemotherapy group and 40 patients in the Chemotherapy group, and the median PFS and median OS in the Radio-chemotherapy group were better than those in the Chemotherapy group (PFS: 10.4 months vs. 6.7 months, P = 0.035; OS: 43.5 months vs. 18.8 months, P<0.001). The 1-year OS and 2-year OS of the Radio-chemotherapy group were higher than those of the Chemotherapy group (1-year OS: 88.1% vs. 70.4%; 2-year OS: 81.1% vs. 39.3%). In addition, in the Radio-chemotherapy group, patients treated with radiotherapy before first-line chemotherapy failure had longer PFS than those treated with radiotherapy after chemotherapy failure (median PFS: 15.7 months vs. 6 months, P = 0.003). There was no significant difference in the incidence of grade 3∼4 toxicities between the Radio-chemotherapy group and the Chemotherapy group (52.3% vs. 50.8%, P = 0.878). CONCLUSION For patients with advanced renal pelvic and ureteral carcinoma, adding radiotherapy on the basis of systemic chemotherapy is well tolerable and expected to bring long-term survival benefits to patients, and the benefits of early interventional radiotherapy may be more obvious.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Radiotherapy is the most fundamental treatment for prostate cancer (PCa), and although radiotherapy for overall PCa patients is effective, poor prognosis and resistance to multiple treatments regimes in some highly malignant PCa, such as those with high Gleason Scores (GS) (≥9), are important bottlenecks limiting the improvement of treatment outcomes for clinical. AKR1C3 is a key PCa resistance gene that our team identified previously, but the induction of the specific mechanism of radiotherapy resistance has not been fully revealed and understand. MATERIALS/METHODS To analyze the correlation between its expression level and clinical radiotherapy, we used the gene expression profiles data of PCa patients in TCGA database. We generated a stepwise increase of radiotherapy dose to established PCa radiotherapy resistant cell lines and detect the AKR1C3 expression level. In addition, to explore the molecular mechanism of AKR1C3 induced prostate cancer radiation tolerance through functional enrichment analysis. Then, to treat cells with cycloheximide and the protein stability of the Nrf2 was detected. Last, the protein ubiquitination level was assayed by co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP) after treatment with MG132. Finally, protein-protein interactions were identified using co-IP to mine possible binding molecules. RESULTS By analyzing the expression profiles data of PCa patients in the TCGA database, we found that in the population of PCa patients treated with radiotherapy, all patients with high AKR1C3 expression died after radiotherapy, suggesting that high AKR1C3 expression may be a biomarker of resistance to radiation. Accordingly, AKR1C3 expression levels showed a positive correlation with GS score, which may be a symbol for patients with highly malignant PCa. A PCa radiotherapy resistant cell line was constructed by a stepwise increase of ionizing radiation (IR) dose, and the total IR dose of radiotherapy was 84Gy, which reached the dose of radical radiotherapy for prostate cancer. The expression of AKR1C3 was further detected by RT-qPCR and WB, and it was found that the expression of AKR1C3 was significantly up-regulated in the resistant cell line, accompanied by milder DNA damage. What's more, by GSEA functional enrichment analysis, we discovered that AKR1C3 overexpression might be related with intracellular oxidative stress damage. After CHX treatment, the protein stability of Nrf2 was significantly enhanced in AKR1C3 overexpression groups than control groups. And the administration of MG132 showed the same results, indicating that the ubiquitinated degradation of Nrf2 was inhibited in AKR1C3 overexpression groups. Further by co-IP, we found that Nrf2 was less ubiquitinated in the cytoplasm after AKR1C3 overexpression, and AKR1C3 could bind Keap1. CONCLUSION In sum, we found that AKR1C3 can bind with Keap1 leading to reduced ubiquitination level of Nrf2, causing upregulation of Nrf2 expression and providing new insights into PCa radiotherapy resistance.

Abstract
AIMS To examine the association between daily steps and step intensity with bone health in Chinese community-dwelling older women. METHODS Data from 1116 women in the Physical Activity and Health in Older Women Study in China, 2021. Three bone parameters: bone quality index (BQI), speed of sound (SOS), and broadband ultrasound attenuation (BUA) were measured in the left heel using an ultrasound bone densitometer and transformed into dichotomous variables from medians. Daily steps and step intensity (slow step time, brisk step time, peak 1-min cadence, peak 30-min cadence, and peak 60-min cadence) were measured using a triaxial accelerometer. Participants with high BQI, SOS, and BUA levels were used as references for logistic regression models to explore the association of daily steps and step intensity with bone health. RESULTS Daily steps were positively associated with the BQI (odds ratio [OR] = 0.94, confidence interval [CI] = 0.89,1.00), SOS (OR = 0.93, CI = 0.88,0.99), and BUA (OR = 0.93, CI = 0.88,0.99) among older women. There was no significant association between peak cadence and bone health. Slow step time was positively associated with the BQI (OR = 0.94, CI = 0.90,0.99) and SOS (OR = 0.93, CI = 0.88,0.97), while brisk step time was positively associated with the BQI (OR = 0.89, CI = 0.82,0.97), SOS (OR = 0.87, CI = 0.80,0.94), and BUA (OR = 0.89, CI = 0.82,0.97). Moreover, 10,000 steps/day or more was significantly associated with the BQI (OR = 0.52, CI = 0.33,0.81), SOS (OR = 0.55, CI = 0.35,0.86), and BUA (OR = 0.45, CI = 0.28, 0.70) compared to <6000 steps/day. CONCLUSION Increasing the number of daily steps or the duration of walking, whether fast or slow, may benefit the bone health of older women.

Abstract
Microfibers are a new type of pollutants that are widely distributed in water bodies. And the simultaneous removal of pollutants in water is popular research in the field of water treatment. In this study, magnesium hydroxide was used as coagulant to investigate the performance and mechanism of coagulation and removal of dyes (reactive orange) and microfibers (MFs). The presence of dyestuff in the composite system promoted the removal of microfibers, and the maximum removal efficiency of both could reach 95.55% and 95.35%. The coagulation mechanism was explored by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and zeta potential. The removal of reactive orange and microfibers relied on electrical neutralization, sweep flocculation, and adsorption mechanisms. Turbidity can enhance the removal efficiency of both. Boosting the rotational speed can increase the removal efficiency of microfibers. This study provides an important theoretical support for an in-depth understanding of the characteristics and mechanisms of coagulation for the removal of complex pollutants from printing and dyeing wastewater.

Abstract
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a life support system used in the treatment of severe respiratory and circulatory failure. High shear stress caused by the high rotational speed of centrifugal blood pumps can cause hemolysis and platelet activation, which are among the major factors leading to the complications of the ECMO system. In this study, a novel blood pump named rotary displacement blood pump (RDBP), which can considerably reduce rotational speed and shear stress while ensuring the normal pressure flow relationship, was proposed. We employed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to investigate the performance of RDBP under adult ECMO support operating conditions (5 L/min with 350 mmHg). The efficiency and H-Q curves of the RDBP were calculated to evaluate its hydraulic performance, and pressure, flow patterns, and shear stress distribution were analyzed to estimate the hemodynamic characteristics in the pump. In addition, the modified index of hemolysis (MIH) was calculated for the RDBP based on a Eulerian approach. The hydraulic efficiency of the RDBP was 47.28%. The velocity distribution of flow field in the pump was relatively uniform. Most of the liquid (more than 75%) in the pump was exposed to low scale shear stress (<1 Pa), which was close to normal physiological conditions. The gap area was the main distribution location of high scale shear stress. The high wall shear stress (>9 Pa) volume fraction of the RDBP was small and located in the boundary areas between the rotor's edge and the housing. The MIH value of the RDBP was 9.87 ± 0.93 (mean ± SD). The RDBP can achieve better hydraulic efficiency and hemodynamic performance at lower rotational speed. The design of this novel pump is expected to provide a new direction for developing a blood pump for ECMO.

Abstract
Location-based services (LBS) are widely used due to the rapid development of mobile devices and location technology. Users usually provide precise location information to LBS to access the corresponding services. However, this convenience comes with the risk of location privacy disclosure, which can infringe upon personal privacy and security. In this paper, a location privacy protection method based on differential privacy is proposed, which efficiently protects users' locations, without degrading the performance of LBS. First, a location-clustering (L-clustering) algorithm is proposed to divide the continuous locations into different clusters based on the distance and density relationships among multiple groups. Then, a differential privacy-based location privacy protection algorithm (DPLPA) is proposed to protect users' location privacy, where Laplace noise is added to the resident points and centroids within the cluster. The experimental results show that the DPLPA achieves a high level of data utility, with minimal time consumption, while effectively protecting the privacy of location information.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the influence of meteorological factors on the morbidity of influenza in northern cities of China and explore the differences in the influence of meteorological factors on the morbidity of influenza in 15 cities. Methods: The monthly reported morbidity of influenza and monthly meteorological data from 2008 to 2020 were collected in 15 provincial capital cities, including Xi 'an, Lanzhou, Xining, Yinchuan and Urumqi (5 northwestern cities), Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Ji'nan, Zhengzhou (7 northern cities), Shenyang, Changchun and Harbin (3 northeastern cities). The panel data regression model was applied to conduct quantitative analyze on the influence of meteorological factors on influenza morbidity. Results: The univariate and multivariate panel regression analysis showed that after controlling the population density and other meteorological factors, for each 5 ℃ drop of monthly average temperature, the morbidity change percentage (MCP) of influenza was 11.35%, 34.04% and 25.04% in the 3 northeastern cities, 7 northern cities and 5 northwestern cities, respectively, and the best lag period months was 1, 0 and 1 month; When the monthly average relative humidity decreased by 10%, the MCP was 15.84% in 3 cities in northeastern China and 14.80% in 7 cities in northern China respectively, and the best lag period months was 2 and 1 months respectively; The MCP of 5 cities in northwestern China was 4.50% for each 10 mm reduction of monthly accumulated precipitation, and the best lag period months was 1 month; The MCPs of 3 cities in northeastern China and 5 cities in northwestern China were 4.19% and 5.97% respectively when the accumulated sunshine duration of each month decreased by 10 hours, the best lag period months was 1 month. Conclusions: In northern cities of China from 2008 to 2020, the temperature, relative humidity, precipitation and sunshine duration all had negatively impact on the morbidity of influenza, and temperature and relative humidity were the main sensitive meteorological factors. Temperature had a strong direct impact on the morbidity of influenza in 7 cities in northern China, and relative humidity had a strong lag effect on the morbidity of influenza in 3 cities in northeastern China. The duration of sunshine in 5 cities in northwestern China had a greater impact on the morbidity of influenza compared with 3 cities in northeastern China.

Abstract
Exosomes, a subtype of extracellular vesicles, ranging from 50 to 200 nm in diameter, and mediate cell-to-cell communication in normal biological and pathological processes. Exosomes derived from tumors have multiple functions in cancer progression, resistance, and metastasis through cancer exosome-derived tropism. However, there is no quantitative information on cancer exosome-derived tropism. Such data would be highly beneficial to guide cancer therapy by inhibiting exosome release and/or uptake. Using two fluorescent protein (mKate2) transfected ovarian cancer cell lines (OVCA4 and OVCA8), cancer exosome tropism was quantified by measuring the released exosome from ovarian cancer cells and determining the uptake of exosomes into parental ovarian cancer cells, 3D spheroids, and tumors in tumor-bearing mice. The OVCA4 cells release 50 to 200 exosomes per cell, and the OVCA8 cells do 300 to 560 per cell. The uptake of exosomes by parental ovarian cancer cells is many-fold higher than by non-parental cells. In tumor-bearing mice, most exosomes are homing to the parent cancer rather than other tissues. We successfully quantified exosome release and uptake by the parent cancer cells, further proving the tropism of cancer cell-derived exosomes. The results implied that cancer exosome tropism could provide useful information for future cancer therapeutic applications.

Abstract
Exposure to air pollution during pregnancy has been linked to birth defects. But the directions of studies on the associations between air pollutants exposure and effect on the incidence of congenital heart disease (CHDs) were inconsistent. To date, few studies were concentrated on the effects of both particulate matter and gaseous air pollutant exposure on CHDs across the full gestational week simultaneously. Our study aimed to investigate the critical exposure windows for each air pollutant throughout 40 gestational weeks. Data on CHDs, air pollution, and meteorological factors from 2013 to 2019 were collected in Lanzhou, China. A distributed lag nonlinear model combined with a quasi-Poisson regression model was applied to evaluate the weekly exposure-lag-response association between air pollutants levels and CHDs, and the subgroup analyses were conducted by gender (baby boy and baby girl). The study included 1607 mother-infant pairs. The results demonstrated that exposure of pregnant women to particulate matter ≤ 5 μm (PM2.5) at lag 1-4 weeks was significantly associated with the risk of CHDs, and the strongest effects were observed in the lag 1 week (1.150, 95%CI 1.059-1.248). For exposure to particulate matter ≤ 10 μm (PM10) at lag 1-3 weeks, the strongest effects were observed in the lag 1 week (1.075, 95% CI 1.026-1.128). For exposure to sulfur dioxide (SO2) at lag 1-4 weeks, the strongest effects were observed in the lag 1 week (1.154, 95% CI 1.025-1.299). For exposure to carbon monoxide (CO) at lag 1-3 weeks, the strongest effects were observed in the lag 1 week (1.089, 95% CI 1.002-1.183). For exposure to ozone (O3) concentration at lag 9-15 weeks, the strongest effects were observed in the lag 15 weeks (1.628, 95% CI 1.001-2.649). The cumulative effects of PM2.5, PM10, SO2, and CO along weeks with a maximum of 1.609 (95%CI 1.000-2.589), 1.286 (95%CI 1.007-1.641), 1.648 (95%CI 1.018-2.668), and 1.368 (95%CI 1.003, 1.865), respectively. The effects were obvious in the initial gestational weeks too. Through the gender stratification analysis, the air pollutants with significant effects were PM2.5 for baby boys and PM2.5, PM10, SO2, CO, NO2, and O3 for baby girl. For the relationship between CHDs and air pollution in Lanzhou, PM2.5, PM10, SO2, CO, and O3 played an important role in the initial gestational weeks, especially for baby girl.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vitrification of embryos has become the basic means of assisted reproductive technology (ART) therapy in recent years. Concerns have also been raised about the safety of vitrification and the effect of cryopreservation time. Most of the previous studies were on the data within 6 years of cryopreservation. OBJECTIVE In this study, we aimed to evaluate the impact of long-term cryopreservation (>6 years) on pregnancy and neonatal outcomes. MATERIALS AND METHODS This research was a single-center, retrospective analysis, including 426 frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles. Patients who participated in IVF-FET cycles between January 2013 to December 2020 were analyzed. Preferentially matched participants were divided into three groups according to storage time: group A (>72 months), group B (0-3 months, propensity score matching [PSM] according to the age of oocyte retrieval), and group C (0-3 months, PSM according to the age of embryo transfer). RESULTS Our results revealed that there were no significant differences in human chorionic gonadotropin [HCG] positive rate, clinical pregnancy rate, miscarriage rate, live birth rate, and neonatal outcomes when the embryo storage duration >72 months. But the proportion of high birth weight was higher in group A (>72 months) when matched according to age at embryo transfer. CONCLUSION The results of our study showed that long-term cryopreservation had no effect on the pregnancy and neonatal outcomes of vitrification. Abstract
The coupling of multisource remote sensing data and the lack of measured runoff introduce input data and model parameters uncertainties to the remote sensing-driven distributed hydrological model (RS-DHM). The PB satellite remote sensing datasets of the Google Earth Engine (GEE) are widely used in RS-DHM and remote sensing runoff inversion research, but whether GEE can reduce the two abovementioned uncertainties is still unknown. To answer this question, twelve remote sensing data sources provided by GEE were used in this study to drive a typical RS-DHM called the remote sensing-driven distributed time-variant gain model (RS-DTVGM) and the remote sensing runoff inversion technology called remote sensing hydrological station (RSHS), and the contribution of GEE to the improving hydrological model uncertainties was quantitatively analyzed from 2001 to 2020. The results showed that (1) the GEE-based improved data preparation not only effectively reduced the uncertainty in the input data with better spatial-temporal continuity and a 6.20 % reduction in the total area occupied by invalid grids, but also enhanced the operational efficiency by reducing the image number, memory size and data processing time of the satellite remote sensing data by 83.63 %, 99.53 %, and 98.73 %, respectively; (2) the GEE-based RSHS technology provided sufficient data support for parameter adjustment and accuracy validation of the RS-DTVGM, which effectively reduced the uncertainty in the model parameters and increased the Nash efficiency coefficient (NSE) in the calibration and validation period from 0.67 to 0.87 and 0.75, respectively; and (3) the calibrated RS-DTVGM was more reliable and robust, and its runoff and evapotranspiration were consistent with the actual statistical data. In the future, GEE and RSHS technology should be widely adopted to drive the RS-DHM to more quickly and easily provide reliable hydrological processes simulation results for integrated water resource management, therefore achieving win-win results in terms of efficiency and accuracy.

Abstract
Water resources of many rural areas are usually lakes or reservoirs, which can be easily affected by run-off, non-point source pollution and are often of poorer quality compared with urban water sources. Drinking water supply in remote rural areas usually suffers from various challenges, such as the high cost of construction and maintenance of centralized drinking water treatment plants and pipe networks, due to the dispersed nature of villages, which are often located in varied and complex topographies. In this study, a combined process comprising biological aerated filter (BAF) combined with ultrafiltration was developed to treat polluted reservoir water. Organic matter indexes, turbidity, and chroma were used as indicators for the evaluation of the system performance. In a long-term experiment lasting 260 days, the combined process was tested under different values of critical operational parameters, including filler types and empty bed contact time (EBCT). Furthermore, the microbial communities in different BAF reactors were carefully evaluated at different times, finding that microorganisms with specific functions were enriched in the various BAF reactors. The combined process reached 85.5 % removal rate of DOC with an EBCT of 45 min and using granule active carbon (GAC) as filler. Most of the effluents of BAF reactors met the requirements for drinking water in China. The combined system showed practical potential for polluted water treatment in some rural areas.

Abstract
The visual attention span (VAS) deficit theory of developmental dyslexia (DD) indicates that impaired VAS may cause reading disabilities. However, whether people with dyslexia have VAS deficit is still controversial. The current review evaluates the literature regarding the relationship between VAS and poor reading, as it also examines the possible moderators in measuring the VAS capacity of individuals with dyslexia. A total of 25 papers, with participants of 859 readers with dyslexia and 1048 typically developing readers were included in the meta-analysis. The sample sizes, means and standard deviations (SDs) of the scores in VAS tasks were extracted separately from the two groups, which were used to calculate the effect sizes of group differences in SDs and means by the robust variance estimation model. Results showed higher SDs and lower averages of the VAS test scores for readers with dyslexia than those for typically developing readers, revealing high individual variability and remarkable deficits in VAS of DD. Further subgroup analyses showed that the characteristics of VAS tasks, background languages, and participants modulated the group differences in VAS capacities. Particularly, the partial report task with symbols of relatively high visual complexity and key pressing may be the optimal measurement of VAS skills. A greater VAS deficit in DD was observed in more opaque languages, with a trend of developmental increase in attention deficit, especially at the primary school level. Moreover, this VAS deficit seemed to be independent of the phonological deficit of dyslexia. These findings to some extent supported the VAS deficit theory of DD and (partially) explained the controversial relationship between VAS impairment and reading disabilities.

Abstract
Exosomes are small phospholipid bilayer vesicles that are naturally produced by all living cells, both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The exosomes due to their unique size, reduced immunogenicity, and their ability to mimic synthetic liposomes in carrying various anticancer drugs have been tested as drug delivery vehicles for cancer treatment. An added advantage of developing exosomes as a drug carrier is the ease of manipulating their intraluminal content and their surface modification to achieve tumor-targeted drug delivery. In the past ten-years, there has been an exponential increase in the number of exosome-related studies in cancer. Preclinical studies demonstrate exosomes-mediated delivery of chemotherapeutics, biologicals and natural products produce potent anticancer activity both, in vitro and in vivo. In contrast, the number of exosome-based clinical trials are few due to challenges in the manufacturing and scalability related to large-scale production of exosomes and their storage and stability. Herein, we discuss recent advances in exosome-based drug delivery for cancer treatment in preclinical and clinical studies and conclude with challenges to be overcome for translating a larger number of exosome-based therapies into the clinic.

Abstract
Toll-like receptor 18 (TLR18), a non-mammalian TLR, has been believed to play an important role in anti-bacterial immunity of teleost fishes. UNC93B1 is a classical molecular chaperone that mediates TLRs transport from endoplasmic reticulum to the located membrane. However, TLR18-mediated signal transduction mechanism and the regulatory effect of UNC93B1 to TLR18 are still unclear in teleost fishes. In this study, the coding sequences of TLR18 and UNC93B1 were cloned from Schizothorax prenanti, named spTLR18 and spUNC93B1, respectively. The spTLR18 and spUNC93B1 are 2583 bp and 1878 bp in length, encode 860 and 625 amino acids, respectively. The spTLR18 widely expressed in various tissues with the highest expression level in liver. After stimulation of Aeromonas hydrophila, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and Poly(I:C), the expression levels of spTLR18 were significantly increased in spleen and head kidney. The spTLR18 located in the cell membrane, while spUNC93B1 located in the cytoplasm. Luciferase and overexpression analysis showed that spTLR18 activated NF-κB and type I IFN signal pathways, and spTLR18-mediated NF-κB activation might depend on the adaptor molecule MyD88. Besides, spUNC93B1 positively regulates spTLR18-mediated NF-κB signal. Our study first uncovers TLR18-UNC93B1-mediated signal transduction mechanism, which contributes to the understanding of TLR signaling pathway in teleost fishes.

Abstract
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES To investigate the association between sedentary behaviour (SB), physical activity (PA), and frailty and frailty subdomains in community-dwelling older women. BACKGROUND Frailty is associated with numerous adverse health outcomes in older people, and women had a higher prevalence than men. However, older adults may face different health risks due to different combinations of frailty subdomains; therefore, specific studies on frailty subdomains are needed. DESIGN A cross-sectional study guided by the STROBE. METHODS In total, 1099 community-dwelling older Chinese women (60-70 years) were included. SB and PA were objectively obtained using a validated triaxial accelerometer. Frailty was defined using the Fried Phenotype (FP) Model. RESULTS After adjusting for confounders, a significant association was found between SB, PA and the prevalence of frailty. The optimal cut-off values of total SB time, light PA (LPA) time, and moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) time to discriminate between frailty and non-frailty were 625.4 min/day, 379.3 min/day and 20.1 min/day, respectively. For frailty subdomains, total SB time was positively associated with low PA. When it comes to total LPA time, the association with low PA was negative. Total MVPA time was significantly and negatively associated with exhaustion, weakness, slowness and low PA, and the optimal cutoff value was 24.4 min/day, 26 min/day, 29.5 min/day and 20.8 min/day, respectively. CONCLUSIONS Effective management of frailty requires consideration of different combinations of frailty subdomains. Increasing MVPA and limiting SB may help deal with frailty for community-dwelling older Chinese women. Additional research is needed to determine whether PA are useful for prevention of frailty. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE The results of this study could help caregivers provide professional and specific physical activity guidance for order women, who are on a risk of or already suffered frailty.

Abstract
Digital game-based training programs have recently been used to train the cognitive abilities of children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). However, the effects of training remain controversial. The present meta-analysis explored the effectiveness of digital game-based training in children with NDDs and examined the possible moderators of its effects. Twenty-nine studies with cognitive outcomes in 1535 children were included in the present meta-analysis. The results showed that digital game-based training could significantly enhance the core cognitive abilities of children with each type of NDDs and that training could be used remotely. Meanwhile, task content and game features of digital game-based interventions separately make unique and significant contributions to the training effects, suggesting that the combination of training content and game features could efficiently improve children's cognition. Although the present study revealed that the training benefits could be maintained over a period of time, more studies are needed to explore the retention effects of digital game-based training. The present study provides a comprehensive understanding of the training effects of digital game-based interventions and new insights for future cognitive training design and application.

Abstract
Few studies have evaluated the association between air pollutants and neural tube defects (NTDs). Moreover, the existing research ignores the lag effect of air pollution on health and provides inconsistent epidemiological evidence. We aim to estimate the association between air pollution and NTDs during the first trimester of pregnancy and identify specific susceptible windows. Birth data was collected from the Birth Defects Surveillance Network in Lanzhou from September 1, 2014, to December 31, 2019. Air quality and meteorological data were collected from ambient air monitoring stations and China Meteorological Data Network. The log connection function of the Poisson distribution function is used to establish a DLNM model to estimate the exposure-effect relationship and exposure-lag relationship association between air pollutants levels and NTDs. There were 320,787 perinatal infants in Lanzhou from September 1, 2014, to December 31, 2019, and 486 cases of NTDs (1.5‰). The result indicates that exposure to inhalable particles (PM10) at lag 2-4 weeks was significantly associated with the risk of NTDs, with the most significant impact at the lag 2 week (RR=1.048, 95%CI, 1.015-1.084). Exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) at the lag 2 week was significantly associated with the risk of NTDs, with the most significant impact at the lag 2 week (RR=1.077, 95%CI, 1.004-1.155). Exposure to sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) at lag 3-6weeks was significantly associated with the risk of NTDs, with the most significant impact at the lag 4 week (RR=1.220, 95%CI, 1.105-1.348; RR=1.143, 95%CI, 1.048-1.245). This study provides further evidence that exposure to air pollutants in the first trimester of pregnancy significantly increases the risk of neural tube defects.

A nomogram for predicting overall survival in patients with type II endometrial carcinoma: a retrospective analysis and multicenter validation study. Abstract
OBJECTIVE Type II endometrial cancer (EC) is associated with high risk of metastasis and poor prognosis. We aimed to develop a nomogram for predicting survival probability in patients with type II EC. PATIENTS AND METHODS Data from a total of 4,117 patients with confirmed type II EC were pulled from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database, and were randomly divided into a training set and an internal verification set. A nomogram was constructed based on the training set. The concordance index (C-index), area under the ROC curve, and calibration plots were used to evaluate the identification and calibration of the nomogram. The SEER internal validation set and the Chinese multicenter data set (74 patients) were used to verify discriminations and corrections of the model. RESULTS Multivariate analysis indicated that age, marital status, tumor size, T stage, N stage, M stage, surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy were independent factors affecting the prognosis of type II EC patients (p<0.001). The corresponding nomogram has showed excellent calibration and discrimination (C-index [95% CI], 0.752 [0.738-0.766]). The model was verified in the internal verification set (0.760 [0.739-0.781]) and the Chinese multicenter set (0.784 [0.607-0.961]). In addition, the AUC further confirmed the accuracy of the nomogram in predicting survival. The calibration curve of OS within 5 years confirmed good calibration of the nomogram. CONCLUSIONS This model and the corresponding risk classification system may provide useful tools for clinicians to evaluate the long-term prognosis of patients and carry out personalized clinical evaluation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Modeling methods for busulfan-induced oligoasthenozoospermia are controversial. We aimed to systematically review the modeling method of busulfan-induced oligospermia and asthenozoospermia, and analyze changes in various evaluation indicators at different busulfan doses over time. METHODS We searched the Cochrane Library, PubMed databases, Web of Science, the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, and the Chinese Biomedical Literature Service System until April 9, 2022. Animal experiments of busulfan-induced spermatogenesis dysfunction were included and screened. The model mortality and parameters of the evaluation indicators were subjected to meta-analysis. RESULTS Twenty-nine animal studies were included (control/model: 669/1829). The mortality of mice increased with busulfan dose. Significant spermatogenesis impairment occurred within 5 weeks, regardless of busulfan dose (10-40 mg/kg). Testicular weight (weighted mean difference [WMD]: - 0.04, 95% CI: - 0.05, - 0.03), testicular index (WMD: - 2.10, 95% CI: - 2.43, - 1.76), and Johnsen score (WMD: - 4.67, 95% CI: - 5.99, - 3.35) were significantly decreased. The pooled sperm counts of the model group were reduced by 32.8 × 106/ml (WMD: - 32.8, 95% CI: - 44.34, - 21.28), and sperm motility decreased by 37% (WMD: - 0.37, 95% CI: - 0.47, - 0.27). Sperm counts decreased slightly (WMD: - 3.03, 95% CI: - 3.42, - 2.64) in an intratesticular injection of low-dose busulfan (4 - 6 mg/kg), and the model almost returned to normal after one seminiferous cycle. CONCLUSION The model using low-dose busulfan (10 - 20 mg/kg) returned to normal after 10 - 15 weeks. However, in some spermatogenesis cycles, testicular weight reduction and testicular spermatogenic function damage were not proportional to busulfan dose. Sperm counts and motility results in different studies had significant heterogeneity. Standard protocols for sperm assessment in animal models were needed to reduce heterogeneity between studies.

Abstract
BACKGROUNDS Household solid fuel have been associated with changes of handgrip strength, and exposure to ambient air pollution might be one risk factor of sarcopenia. However, the prospective association between household solid fuel use and sarcopenia remains limited. METHODS A total of 11,924 participants (5,723 men (48%) and 6,201 women (52%) with the average age was 59.17 ± 9.57 years) from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study 2011 were included in cross-sectional analyses. 7,507 participants at baseline were included in longitudinal analyses and were followed up in 2015. Sarcopenia status was defined according to the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia 2019 (AWGS 2019) criteria. RESULTS In cross-sectional analyses, the participants who used solid fuel for cooking and heating had higher prevalence of sarcopenia than those who used clean fuel. During the follow-up, 302 (4.02%) participants experienced sarcopenia. In the longitudinal analysis, after multivariable adjustment of age, sex and other risk factors, individuals who used solid fuel for cooking had an elevated risk of new-onset sarcopenia, with corresponding odds ratio of 1.32 (95% confidence interval, 1.03-1.71). Consistently, individuals reported solid fuels use for heating were associated with 20% (odds ratio=1.20, 95% confidence interval: 1.01-1.56) increased risk of sarcopenia. In addition, a self-reported switch from clean to solid fuel for cooking appeared to have an increased sarcopenia risk (odds ratio=1.20, 95% confidence interval: 1.02-1.43). CONCLUSION Using household solid fuel for cooking and heating was associated with increased risk of sarcopenia prevalence and incidence.

Abstract
Catalytic asymmetric dearomatization (CADA) reactions is an important synthetic method for constructing enantioenriched complex cyclic systems from simple aromatic feedstocks. However, the CADA reactions of nonactivated arenes, such as naphthalenes and benzenes, have been far less explored than those of electronically activated arenes, such as phenols, naphthols and indoles. Herein, we disclose an asymmetric dearomative cyclopropanation of naphthalenes for the rapid construction of polycyclic compounds. With chiral dirhodium carboxylate as a catalyst, the dearomative cyclopropanation proceeded smoothly under mild conditions and afforded benzonorcaradiene-containing tetracycles in good yield and high enantioselectivity (up to 99% ee). Three stereogenic centers, including two all-carbon quaternary centers, were created in the dearomatization reaction. Moreover, a variety of functional groups are well-tolerated in the reaction. The products could be readily converted into other complex polycycles while maintaining the high ee value.

Abstract
The indoor culture method was carried out to study the toxic effect of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on Achromobacter denitrificans. Specifically, the effects of AgNPs concentration, temperature and coexisting anions were analyzed. The results showed that AgNPs exerted significant inhibition on the bacteria, which was closely correlated with its concentration and temperature. Both the ammonia oxidation and generation capacity of Achromobacter denitrificans decreased significantly with an increase in AgNPs concentration. Compared with the inhibition performance at 30 °C, NH4+-N generation rates decreased by 45.31% at 20 °C and 17.58% at 40 °C, respectively, revealing that too low or too high temperature induced to reduce the nitrogen conversion ability of Achromobacter denitrificans. While compared with temperature, the effect of coexisting ions (Cl- and SO42-) was not significant (P > 0.05). Electron microscopy observations found that AgNPs non-specifically bound to the cells (content ranging from 0.04% to 0.10%) and acted on the cell surface structure, causing wrinkles, depressions, and ruptures on the surface of cell membranes, and leakage of substances in the membranes. AgNPs increased the rate of cell apoptosis and decreased the cell body volume mainly with short-term acute effects.

Abstract
Current studies on air pollutant exposure during pregnancy and orofacial clefts (OFCs) have inconsistent results, and few studies have investigated refined susceptible windows for OFCs. We aim to estimate association between air pollution and OFCs during the first trimester of pregnancy and identify specific susceptible windows. Birth data was obtained from Birth Defects Surveillance Network in Lanzhou from 2014 to 2019. Air pollution data and temperature data were obtained from ambient air monitoring stations and China Meteorological Data Network, respectively. A distribution lag nonlinear model (DLNM) was applied to estimate weekly-exposure-lag-response association between air pollutant levels and OFCs. The study included 320,787 perinatal infants from 2014 to 2019, of which 685 (2.14‰) were OFCs. The results demonstrated that exposure of pregnant women to aerodynamic diameter ≤ 10 μm (PM10) at lag 4-5 weeks was significantly associated with the risk of OFCs, with the greatest impact at the lag 4 week (RR = 1.029, 95% CI = 1.001-1.057). Exposure to sulfur dioxide (SO2) at lag 2-4 weeks was significantly associated with the risk of OFCs, with the greatest impact at the lag 3 week (RR = 1.096, 95% CI = 1.041-1.177). This study provides further evidence that exposure to air pollution increases the risk of OFCs in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Sarcopenia is associated with age-related loss of muscle mass and function and is becoming prevalent in the older Chinese population. This systematic review aims to obtain a reliable estimation of the prevalence of sarcopenia among community-dwelling Chinese populations aged 65 years and older and to characterize its epidemiology. METHODS A literature search was performed in the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data, and CQVIP databases up to September 31, 2021. All studies that reported the prevalence of sarcopenia in Chinese community-dwelling older adults were included, and Hoy et al.'s tool was used to assess the risk of bias. The overall prevalence of sarcopenia will be calculated as the primary outcome, and subgroup analyses will be performed by study year, age, sex, muscle mass assessment method, diagnostic criteria and area. RESULTS A total of 26 studies were included in this study, which involved 25,921 subjects, and 3597 had sarcopenia. Although significant heterogeneity between studies was reported, no statistically significant publication bias was detected. The overall prevalence of sarcopenia in community-dwelling older adults aged over 65 years in the Chinese population was 17.4% (95% CI: 14.6%-20.2%). Subgroup analysis based on study year, age and sex, muscle mass assessment method, diagnostic criteria, region and area showed that the prevalence of sarcopenia was different in each subgroup. IMPLICATIONS The prevalence of sarcopenia in Chinese community-dwelling older adults was higher than that in previous studies. As a multidimensional survey of the prevalence of sarcopenia in older adults, this meta-analysis provides data support for the targeted management of sarcopenia among Chinese older adults.
