Abstract
Furfural is an industrially relevant biobased chemical platform. Unlike classical furan, or C-alkylated furans, which have been previously described in the current literature, the =C5H bond of furfural is unreactive. As a result, on a large scale, C=C and C=O bond hydrogenation/hydrogenolysis is mainly performed, with furfuryl alcohol and methyl tetrahydrofuran being the two main downstream chemicals. Here, we show that the derivatization of the -CHO group of furfural restores the reactivity of its =C5H bond, thus permitting its double condensation on various alkyl aldehydes. Overcoming the recalcitrance of the =C5H bond of furfural has opened an access to a biobased monomer, whose potential have been investigated in the fabrication of renewably-sourced poly(silylether). By means of a combined theoretical-experimental study, a reactivity scale for furfural and its protected derivatives against carbonylated compounds has been established using an electrophilicity descriptor, a means to predict the molecular diversity and complexity this pathway may support, and also to de-risk any project related to this topic. Finally, by using performance criteria for industrial operations in the field of fuels and commodities, we discussed the industrial potential of this work in terms of cost, E-factor, reactor productivity and catalyst consumption.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aims to analyze the clinical characteristics of Chinese children with spinal cord injury (SCI) without radiographic abnormality (SCIWORA) and explore their contributing factors and mechanisms of occurrence. METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of pediatric patients diagnosed with SCIWORA from January 2005 to May 2020. Epidemiological, etiological, mechanistic, therapeutic, and outcome aspects were analyzed. RESULTS A total of 47 patients with SCIWORA were included in this study, comprising 16 males and 31 females. The age range was 4 to 12 years, with an average age of 7.49 ± 2.04 years, and 70% of the patients were below eight. Sports-related injuries constituted 66%, with 70% attributed to dance backbend practice. Thoracic segment injuries accounted for 77%. In the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) classification, the combined proportion of A and B grades accounted for 88%. Conservative treatment was chosen by 98% of the patients, with muscle atrophy, spinal scoliosis, hip joint abnormalities, and urinary system infections being the most common complications. CONCLUSION SCIWORA in Chinese children is more prevalent in those under eight years old, with a higher incidence in females than males. Thoracic spinal cord injuries are predominant, dance backbend as a primary contributing factor, and the social environment of "neijuan" is a critical potential inducing factor. Furthermore, the initial severity of the injury plays a decisive role in determining the prognosis of SCIWORA.

Biomechanical response of decompression alone in lower grade lumbar degenerative spondylolisthesis--A finite element analysis. J Orthop Surg Res 2024; 19:209. Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous studies have demonstrated the clinical efficacy of decompression alone in lower-grade spondylolisthesis. A higher rate of surgical revision and a lower rate of back pain relief was also observed. However, there is a lack of relevant biomechanical evidence after decompression alone for lower-grade spondylolisthesis. PURPOSE Evaluating the biomechanical characteristics of total laminectomy, hemilaminectomy, and facetectomy for lower-grade spondylolisthesis by analyzing the range of motion (ROM), intradiscal pressure (IDP), annulus fibrosus stress (AFS), facet joints contact force (FJCF), and isthmus stress (IS). METHODS Firstly, we utilized finite element tools to develop a normal lumbar model and subsequently constructed a spondylolisthesis model based on the normal model. We then performed total laminectomy, hemilaminectomy, and one-third facetectomy in the normal model and spondylolisthesis model, respectively. Finally, we analyzed parameters, such as ROM, IDP, AFS, FJCF, and IS, for all the models under the same concentrate force and moment. RESULTS The intact spondylolisthesis model showed a significant increase in the relative parameters, including ROM, AFS, FJCF, and IS, compared to the intact normal lumbar model. Hemilaminectomy and one-third facetectomy in both spondylolisthesis and normal lumbar models did not result in an obvious change in ROM, IDP, AFS, FJCF, and IS compared to the pre-operative state. Moreover, there was no significant difference in the degree of parameter changes between the spondylolisthesis and normal lumbar models after undergoing the same surgical procedures. However, total laminectomy significantly increased ROM, AFS, and IS and decreased the FJCF in both normal lumbar models and spondylolisthesis models. CONCLUSION Hemilaminectomy and one-third facetectomy did not have a significant impact on the segment stability of lower-grade spondylolisthesis; however, patients with LDS undergoing hemilaminectomy and one-third facetectomy may experience higher isthmus stress on the surgical side during rotation. In addition, total laminectomy changes the biomechanics in both normal lumbar models and spondylolisthesis models.

Study of High-Transverse-Momentum Higgs Boson Production in Association with a Vector Boson in the qqbb Final State with the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 132:131802. Abstract
This Letter presents the first study of Higgs boson production in association with a vector boson (V=W or Z) in the fully hadronic qqbb final state using data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb^{-1}. The vector bosons and Higgs bosons are each reconstructed as large-radius jets and tagged using jet substructure techniques. Dedicated tagging algorithms exploiting b-tagging properties are used to identify jets consistent with Higgs bosons decaying into bb[over ¯]. Dominant backgrounds from multijet production are determined directly from the data, and a likelihood fit to the jet mass distribution of Higgs boson candidates is used to extract the number of signal events. The VH production cross section is measured inclusively and differentially in several ranges of Higgs boson transverse momentum: 250-450, 450-650, and greater than 650 GeV. The inclusive signal yield relative to the standard model expectation is observed to be μ=1.4_{-0.9}^{+1.0} and the corresponding cross section is 3.1±1.3(stat)_{-1.4}^{+1.8}(syst) pb.

Clinical efficacy of different surgical approaches in the treatment of thoracolumbar tuberculosis: a multicenter retrospective case-control study with a minimum 10-year follow-up. Int J Surg 2024:01279778-990000000-01190. [PMID: 38498354 DOI: 10.1097/js9.0000000000001272] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 11/20/2023] [Accepted: 02/21/2024] [Indexed: 03/20/2024]
Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the long-term clinical efficacy of three different surgical approaches in treating thoracolumbar tuberculosis. METHODS A total of 176 patients with thoracolumbar tuberculosis, treated with open surgery at two hospitals, were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were stratified into three groups based on the surgical approach: anterior-only (AO), posterior-only (PO), and anterior-posterior combined (AP) approaches. Collected data encompassed operative duration, intraoperative blood loss, hospital stay length, complications, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) classification, and radiographic measurements of segmental lordotic Cobb angles, correction angles, and correction rates. RESULTS The minimum duration of follow-up among all patients was 10 years. Postoperatively, all patients experienced a reduction in ESR and CRP, with normalization occurring within 3 months and sustained normal at the last follow-up. The AP group had a longer operative duration and higher intraoperative blood loss than the other two groups. The Cobb correction rates for AO, PO, and AP were (56.33±6.62)%, (72.82±5.66)%, and (74.45±5.78)%, respectively. The correction loss of Cobb angles for AO, PO, and AP were (2.85±1.01)°, (1.42±0.97)°, and (1.19±0.89)°, respectively. Patients in all groups showed significant improvement in VAS scores and ODI postoperatively, with no notable intergroup differences. The neurological recovery rates for the AO, PO, and AP groups were 84.62, 87.10, and 83.72%, respectively, while the complication rates were 12.73, 16.98, and 22.06%, respectively. CONCLUSION An anterior-only approach is recommended for cases with localized lesions and smaller angular deformities. For patients with multisegmental lesions and larger angular deformities, a posterior-only or anterior-posterior combined approach is advised, with a preference for the posterior-only approach.

Abstract
ATLAS measured the centrality dependence of the dijet yield using 165 nb^{-1} of p+Pb data collected at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16 TeV in 2016. The event centrality, which reflects the p+Pb impact parameter, is characterized by the total transverse energy registered in the Pb-going side of the forward calorimeter. The central-to-peripheral ratio of the scaled dijet yields, R_{CP}, is evaluated, and the results are presented as a function of variables that reflect the kinematics of the initial hard parton scattering process. The R_{CP} shows a scaling with the Bjorken x of the parton originating from the proton, x_{p}, while no such trend is observed as a function of x_{Pb}. This analysis provides unique input to understanding the role of small proton spatial configurations in p+Pb collisions by covering parton momentum fractions from the valence region down to x_{p}∼10^{-3} and x_{Pb}∼4×10^{-4}.

Abstract
The rapid multiplication of residual tumor cells and poor reconstruction quality of new bone are considered the major challenges in the postoperative treatment of osteosarcoma. It is a promising candidate for composite bone scaffold which combines photothermal therapy (PTT) and bone regeneration induction for the local treatment of osteosarcoma. However, it is inevitable to damage the normal tissues around the tumor due to the hyperthermia of PTT, while mild heat therapy shows a limited effect on antitumor treatment as the damage can be easily repaired by stress-induced heat shock proteins (HSP). This study reports a new type of single-atom Cu nanozyme-loaded bone scaffolds, which exhibit exceptional photothermal conversion properties as well as peroxidase and glutathione oxidase mimicking activities in vitro experiments. This leads to lipid peroxidation (LPO) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) upregulation, ultimately causing ferroptosis. The accumulation of LPO and ROS also contributes to HSP70 inactivation, maximizing PTT efficiency against tumors at an appropriate therapeutic temperature and minimizing the damage to surrounding normal tissues. Further, the bone scaffold promotes bone regeneration via a continuous release of bioactive ions (Ca2+ , P5+ , Si4+ , and Cu2+ ). The results of in vivo experiments reveal that scaffolds inhibit tumor growth and promote bone repair.

Abstract
Searches for new resonances are performed using an unsupervised anomaly-detection technique. Events with at least one electron or muon are selected from 140 fb^{-1} of pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded by ATLAS at the Large Hadron Collider. The approach involves training an autoencoder on data, and subsequently defining anomalous regions based on the reconstruction loss of the decoder. Studies focus on nine invariant mass spectra that contain pairs of objects consisting of one light jet or b jet and either one lepton (e,μ), photon, or second light jet or b jet in the anomalous regions. No significant deviations from the background hypotheses are observed. Limits on contributions from generic Gaussian signals with various widths of the resonance mass are obtained for nine invariant masses in the anomalous regions.

Vegetation-fire feedbacks increase subtropical wildfire risk in scrubland and reduce it in forests. JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT 2024; 351:119726. Abstract
Climate dictates wildfire activity around the world. But East and Southeast Asia are an apparent exception as fire-activity variation there is unrelated to climatic variables. In subtropical China, fire activity decreased by 80% between 2003 and 2020 amid increased fire risks globally. Here, we assessed the fire regime, vegetation structure, fuel flammability and their interactions across subtropical Hubei, China. We show that tree basal area (TBA) and fuel flammability explained 60% of fire-frequency variance. Fire frequency and fuel flammability, in turn, explained 90% of TBA variance. These results reveal a novel system of scrubland-forest stabilized by vegetation-fire feedbacks. Frequent fires promote the persistence of derelict scrubland through positive vegetation-fire feedbacks; in forest, vegetation-fire feedbacks are negative and suppress fire. Thus, we attribute the decrease in wildfire activity to reforestation programs that concurrently increase forest coverage and foster negative vegetation-fire feedbacks that suppress wildfire.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WZγ production and a measurement of its cross section using 140.1±1.2 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The WZγ production cross section, with both the W and Z bosons decaying leptonically, pp→WZγ→ℓ^{'}^{±}νℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}γ (ℓ^{(^{'})}=e, μ), is measured in a fiducial phase-space region defined such that the leptons and the photon have high transverse momentum and the photon is isolated. The cross section is found to be 2.01±0.30(stat)±0.16(syst) fb. The corresponding standard model predicted cross section calculated at next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and at leading order in the electroweak coupling constant is 1.50±0.06 fb. The observed significance of the WZγ signal is 6.3σ, compared with an expected significance of 5.0σ.

Abstract
A search for events with a dark photon produced in association with a dark Higgs boson via rare decays of the standard model Z boson is presented, using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The dark boson decays into a pair of dark photons, and at least two of the three dark photons must each decay into a pair of electrons or muons, resulting in at least two same-flavor opposite-charge lepton pairs in the final state. The data are found to be consistent with the background prediction, and upper limits are set on the dark photon's coupling to the dark Higgs boson times the kinetic mixing between the standard model photon and the dark photon, α_{D}ϵ^{2}, in the dark photon mass range of [5, 40] GeV except for the ϒ mass window [8.8, 11.1] GeV. This search explores new parameter space not previously excluded by other experiments.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nine surgical site infections caused by Serratia marcescens were diagnosed in neurosurgical patients in a 3500-bed hospital between 2nd February and 6th April 2022. OBJECTIVE To trace the source of infections caused by S. marcescens to expedite termination of the outbreak and prevent future epidemics. METHODS A review of all surgical procedures and cultures yielding S. marcescens since February 2022 was conducted. Samples were collected from patients and environmental sources. S. marcescens isolates were characterized by antibiotic susceptibility testing. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) was used to investigate genetic relationships. Resistance genes, virulence genes and plasmid replicons were identified. RESULTS S. marcescens was isolated from patients' puncture fluid, cerebrospinal fluid and other secretions, and was also cultured from the barbers' haircutting tools, including leather knives, slicker scrapers and razors. In total, 15 isolates were obtained from patients and eight isolates were obtained from haircutting tools. All isolates exhibited identical antibiotic resistance patterns. WGS revealed close clustering among the 23 isolates which differed significantly from previous strains. Three resistance genes and nine virulence-associated genes were detected in all isolates, and 19 of 23 isolates harboured an MOBP-type plasmid. The results confirmed an outbreak of S. marcescens, which was traced to contaminated haircutting tools in the hospital barber shop. The outbreak ended after extensive reinforcement of infection control procedures and re-education of the barbers. CONCLUSIONS These results highlight the risk of postoperative infections related to pre-operative skin preparation, and demonstrate the value of next-generation sequencing tools to expedite outbreak investigations.

Global taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic diversity of bees in apple orchards. THE SCIENCE OF THE TOTAL ENVIRONMENT 2023; 901:165933. Abstract
An essential prerequisite to safeguard pollinator species is characterisation of the multifaceted diversity of crop pollinators and identification of the drivers of pollinator community changes across biogeographical gradients. The extent to which intensive agriculture is associated with the homogenisation of biological communities at large spatial scales remains poorly understood. In this study, we investigated diversity drivers for 644 bee species/morphospecies in 177 commercial apple orchards across 33 countries and four global biogeographical biomes. Our findings reveal significant taxonomic dissimilarity among biogeographical zones. Interestingly, despite this dissimilarity, species from different zones share similar higher-level phylogenetic groups and similar ecological and behavioural traits (i.e. functional traits), likely due to habitat filtering caused by perennial monoculture systems managed intensively for crop production. Honey bee species dominated orchard communities, while other managed/manageable and wild species were collected in lower numbers. Moreover, the presence of herbaceous, uncultivated open areas and organic management practices were associated with increased wild bee diversity. Overall, our study sheds light on the importance of large-scale analyses contributing to the emerging fields of functional and phylogenetic diversity, which can be related to ecosystem function to promote biodiversity as a key asset in agroecosystems in the face of global change pressures.

Abstract
The polarization of Λ and Λ[over ¯] hyperons along the beam direction has been measured relative to the second and third harmonic event planes in isobar Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. This is the first experimental evidence of the hyperon polarization by the triangular flow originating from the initial density fluctuations. The amplitudes of the sine modulation for the second and third harmonic results are comparable in magnitude, increase from central to peripheral collisions, and show a mild p_{T} dependence. The azimuthal angle dependence of the polarization follows the vorticity pattern expected due to elliptic and triangular anisotropic flow, and qualitatively disagrees with most hydrodynamic model calculations based on thermal vorticity and shear induced contributions. The model results based on one of existing implementations of the shear contribution lead to a correct azimuthal angle dependence, but predict centrality and p_{T} dependence that still disagree with experimental measurements. Thus, our results provide stringent constraints on the thermal vorticity and shear-induced contributions to hyperon polarization. Comparison to previous measurements at RHIC and the LHC for the second-order harmonic results shows little dependence on the collision system size and collision energy.

Abstract
Dendritic cells (DCs) can mediate inflammation-related bone resorption that is crucial in the development of periodontitis. Butyrate is a critical by-product of microbes with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Here, we found that butyrate inhibited the activation of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced DCs and generation of inflammatory cytokines by DCs. Moreover, butyrate regulated glycolysis in LPS-induced DCs via the G-protein-coupled receptor/hypoxia-inducible factor-1α pathway. In addition, butyrate inhibited the maturation of CD11c+MHC-II+ DCs in vivo, suppressing local inflammatory infiltration and ultimately alleviating bone resorption in a periodontitis model. Our results imply that butyrate suppresses the activation of LPS-induced DCs by modulating their metabolism, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic agent for inflammatory diseases.

Abstract
This letter presents a measurement of the nuclear modification factor of large-radius jets in sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV Pb+Pb collisions by the ATLAS experiment. The measurement is performed using 1.72 nb^{-1} and 257 pb^{-1} of Pb+Pb and pp data, respectively. The large-radius jets are reconstructed with the anti-k_{t} algorithm using a radius parameter of R=1.0, by reclustering anti-k_{t} R=0.2 jets, and are measured over the transverse momentum (p_{T}) kinematic range of 158

Measurement of the Sensitivity of Two-Particle Correlations in pp Collisions to the Presence of Hard Scatterings. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 131:162301. Abstract
A key open question in the study of multiparticle production in high-energy pp collisions is the relationship between the "ridge"-i.e., the observed azimuthal correlations between particles in the underlying event that extend over all rapidities-and hard or semihard scattering processes. In particular, it is not known whether jets or their soft fragments are correlated with particles in the underlying event. To address this question, two-particle correlations are measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, with an integrated luminosity of 15.8 pb^{-1}, in two different configurations. In the first case, charged particles associated with jets are excluded from the correlation analysis, while in the second case, correlations are measured between particles within jets and charged particles from the underlying event. Second-order flow coefficients, v_{2}, are presented as a function of event multiplicity and transverse momentum. These measurements show that excluding particles associated with jets does not affect the measured correlations. Moreover, particles associated with jets do not exhibit any significant azimuthal correlations with the underlying event, ruling out hard processes contributing to the ridge.

Abstract
A search is made for potential ccc[over ¯]c[over ¯] tetraquarks decaying into a pair of charmonium states in the four muon final state using proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS experiment at LHC. Two decay channels, J/ψ+J/ψ→4μ and J/ψ+ψ(2S)→4μ, are studied. Backgrounds are estimated based on a hybrid approach involving Monte Carlo simulations and data-driven methods. Statistically significant excesses with respect to backgrounds dominated by the single parton scattering are seen in the di-J/ψ channel consistent with a narrow resonance at 6.9 GeV and a broader structure at lower mass. A statistically significant excess is also seen in the J/ψ+ψ(2S) channel. The fitted masses and decay widths of the structures are reported.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of τ-lepton-pair production in ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions Pb+Pb→Pb(γγ→ττ)Pb and constraints on the τ-lepton anomalous magnetic moment a_{τ}. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.44 nb^{-1} of LHC Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment in 2018. Selected events contain one muon from a τ-lepton decay, an electron or charged-particle track(s) from the other τ-lepton decay, little additional central-detector activity, and no forward neutrons. The γγ→ττ process is observed in Pb+Pb collisions with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations and a signal strength of μ_{ττ}=1.03_{-0.05}^{+0.06} assuming the standard model value for a_{τ}. To measure a_{τ}, a template fit to the muon transverse-momentum distribution from τ-lepton candidates is performed, using a dimuon (γγ→μμ) control sample to constrain systematic uncertainties. The observed 95% confidence-level interval for a_{τ} is -0.057

Abstract
The target gene sequences of the novel coronaviruses obtained by sequencing were compared with the reference sequences to analyze the genetic variation of the two cases of the novel coronaviruses from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2022 and to explore the sources of infection. The results showed that the two sequences belonged to different evolutionary branches, Delta (AY.122) and Omicron (BA.1.1), respectively. hCoV-19/Inner Mongolia/IVDC-591/2022 had 48 single nucleotide polymorphisms on the genome sequences, sharing 40 nucleotide mutation sites with a Mongolian strain; hCoV-19/Inner Mongolia/IVDC-592/2022 genome shared 57 nucleotide mutation sites with a UK strain, and the nucleotide mutation site identity was 100% (57/57). Phylogenetic analysis showed that the target gene sequences were not directly related to domestic novel coronavirus sequences during the same period, but were related to isolates from Europe and Mongolia.

Abstract
We report the observation of a set of coherent high frequency electromagnetic fluctuations that leads to a turbulence induced self-regulating phenomenon in the DIII-D high bootstrap current fraction plasma. The fluctuations have frequency of 130-220 kHz, the poloidal wavelength and phase velocity are 16-30 m^{-1} and ∼30 km/s, respectively, in the outboard midplane with the estimated toroidal mode number n∼5-9. The fluctuations are located in the internal transport barrier (ITB) region at large radius and are experimentally validated to be kinetic ballooning modes (KBM). Quasilinear estimation predicts the KBM to be able to drive experimental particle flux and non-negligible thermal flux, suggesting its significant role in regulating the ITB saturation.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) To investigate the appropriate timing of radiotherapy (RT) after hysterectomy for women with early-stage endometrial carcinoma (EC). MATERIALS/METHODS Between 1999 and 2020, 1080 patients with I and II endometrial cancer received postoperative RT at our hospital. All patients underwent hysterectomy followed by RT. The optimal cut-off values for the surgery-RT interval (SRI) based on overall survival (OS) were determined using the R software. The disease-free survival (DFS), OS, locoregional recurrence free survival (LRFS), and distant metastasis free survival (DMFS) rates were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Multivariate analyses were performed using Cox proportional hazards regression. RESULTS Median follow-up time was 52 months. Median SRI were 46 days. The optimal cut-off value for the surgery-RT interval (SRI) based on overall survival (OS) is 40 days. The group initiated RT within 40 days following surgery has higher OS (P = 0.004), higher LRFS (P = 0.002) and higher DMFS (P = 0.039). An SRI of ≤ 40 days was independently associated with higher OS (HR 0.454, 95% CI:0.261-0.788), higher LRFS (HR 0.487, 95% CI:0.304-0.779), and higher DMFS (HR 0.643, 95% CI:0.421-0.982) than SRI of >40 days. However, SRI had no significant effect on DFS. CONCLUSION The surgery-RT interval affects the patients' survival endpoints. Based on this analysis, the timing of the initiation of RT after hysterectomy is crucial for patients with early-stage endometrial carcinoma (EC). The postoperative radiation therapy for endometrial cancer should be initiated within 40 days following surgery.

Abstract
Fungi have essential functions in plant health and performance. However, the plant-associated functions of many cultured fungi have not been established in detail. Here, the fungal species diversity in Salvia miltiorrhiza roots and rhizosphere was assessed for the first time using culturomics and high-throughput sequencing. We present a comprehensive functional metagenomic analysis of these fungi and verified activity of cellulase and chitinase predicted in the metagenomic analysis. We first collected and cultured fungi from the root and rhizosphere of S. miltiorrhiza. We found 92 species across 37 families and five phyla, with Ascomycota being dominant. Many rDNA internal transcribed spacer sequences could not be assigned to lower taxonomic levels. There were 19 genera of endophytic fungi and 37 genera of rhizosphere fungi. The culturomics approach had lower taxonomic diversity than high-throughput sequencing, but some fungi were only found in cultures. Structural analyses indicated that the dominant species differed in cultured and non-cultured samples at other levels, apart from the phylum level. Functional analysis mapped 223 carbohydrate enzyme families and 393 pathways in the CAZy and KEGG databases, respectively. The most abundant families were glycoside hydrolases and those involved in carbohydrate metabolism. As predicted by metagenomics, we experimentally verified cellulase and chitinase activity for 29 and 74 fungi, respectively. We provide the first evidence of biomass recycling by fungi that are associated with plants. Culturing is essential to reveal the hidden microbial community and critical functions in plant-microbe interactions.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) This study is to evaluate the impact of mismatch repair (MMR) status on prognosis among patients with stage I to II (FIGO 2009) endometrial carcinoma (EC) treated with hysterectomy and adjuvant RT. MATERIALS/METHODS Between Oct. 2017 and Dec. 2020, patients with stage I to II (FIGO 2009) EC who had undergone hysterectomy followed by adjuvant RT in our institution were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical characteristics were compared between patients with proficient and deficient mismatch repair (pMMR and dMMR) using Pearson Chi-Square test for categorical variables. Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test were used to compared overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), local-regional recurrence free survival (LRFS) and distant metastasis free survival (DMFS). Statistically significant difference was set as p<0.05. RESULTS Totally 276 stage I to II EC patients with known MMR status were included in this study. Among them, 211 patients were classified as pMMR while 65 patients were classified as dMMR. When compared to pMMR, patients with dMMR were more likely to have grade 3 and non-endometrioid type(37.8% vs. 20.8%, p = 0.014), lympho-vascular invasion (36.7% vs. 16.3%, p = 0.000), young age (<60) (28.6% vs. 17.2%, p = 0.027), HIR to HR classification(30.9% vs. 16.1%, p = 0.004). Of all the 276 patients, the median follow-up time was 31 months. Two-year DMFS was superior for pMMR compared to dMMR patients (96.3% vs. 95.0%, p = 0.048). Two-year DFS tended to be better for pMMR than dMMR patients with survival curves not crossed over each other (93.0% vs. 86.8%, p = 0.074). Two-year OS (98.9% vs. 98.4%, p = 0.716) and LRFS (96.3% vs. 95.0%, p = 0.815) were not different between pMMR/dMMR patients. For HIR to HR group, we reached the similar conclusion while for LR to IR group, survival statistics were not different between pMMR/dMMR patients. As to failure pattern, dMMR were more likely to have distant failure while local and regional failure were not different between the two groups. CONCLUSION For stage I to II EC, patients with dMMR have poorer DMFS and DFS compared to pMMR patients especially in HIR to HR risk classification. The combination of MMR status and other clinical and pathological factors may establish a new prognostic model and form a new risk stratification system.

Magnetic Field Boosts the Transmembrane Transport Efficiency of Magnesium Ions from PLLA Bone Scaffold. SMALL (WEINHEIM AN DER BERGSTRASSE, GERMANY) 2023; 19:e2301426. Abstract
In the system of magnesium-loaded scaffolds, the effect of magnesium ions (Mg2+ ) on the osteogenesis induction is restricted due to the low transmembrane transport efficiency of Mg2+ into the cell, which limits the application for bone defect repair. Inspired by the fact that magnetic field can regulate ion channel proteins on the cell membrane, magnetite nanoparticle is introduced into the poly (l-lactic acid) /magnesium oxide composite in this study, and a magnetic magnesium-loaded bone scaffold is prepared via selective laser sintering . Notably, the activities of the Mg2+ channel protein (MAGT1) on the membrane of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (rBMSCs) are enhanced via magnetic torque effect (via integrin αV β3/actin), under the action of static magnetic field (SMF), which promoted rBMSCs to capture Mg2+ in the microenvironment and induced osteogenesis. In vitro experiments showed that the magnetic magnesium-loaded scaffold, under the action of SMF, can accelerate the inflow of Mg2+ from surrounding microenvironment, which improved cellular activities, osteogenesis-related gene expression (ALP, Runx2, OCN, and OPN), and mineralization. Besides, in vivo skull defect repair experiments showed that the scaffolds possessed good ability to promote bone differentiation and new bone regeneration.

Strong Constraints on Jet Quenching in Centrality-Dependent p+Pb Collisions at 5.02 TeV from ATLAS. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 131:072301. Abstract
Jet quenching is the process of color-charged partons losing energy via interactions with quark-gluon plasma droplets created in heavy-ion collisions. The collective expansion of such droplets is well described by viscous hydrodynamics. Similar evidence of collectivity is consistently observed in smaller collision systems, including pp and p+Pb collisions. In contrast, while jet quenching is observed in Pb+Pb collisions, no evidence has been found in these small systems to date, raising fundamental questions about the nature of the system created in these collisions. The ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider has measured the yield of charged hadrons correlated with reconstructed jets in 0.36 nb^{-1} of p+Pb and 3.6 pb^{-1} of pp collisions at 5.02 TeV. The yields of charged hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>0.5 GeV near and opposite in azimuth to jets with p_{T}^{jet}>30 or 60 GeV, and the ratios of these yields between p+Pb and pp collisions, I_{pPb}, are reported. The collision centrality of p+Pb events is categorized by the energy deposited by forward neutrons from the struck nucleus. The I_{pPb} values are consistent with unity within a few percent for hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>4 GeV at all centralities. These data provide new, strong constraints that preclude almost any parton energy loss in central p+Pb collisions.

Abstract
A search for a long-lived, heavy neutral lepton (N) in 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider is reported. The N is produced via W→Nμ or W→Ne and decays into two charged leptons and a neutrino, forming a displaced vertex. The N mass is used to discriminate between signal and background. Abstract
A test of CP invariance in Higgs boson production via vector-boson fusion has been performed in the H→γγ channel using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The optimal observable method is used to probe the CP structure of interactions between the Higgs boson and electroweak gauge bosons, as described by an effective field theory. No sign of CP violation is observed in the data. Constraints are set on the parameters describing the strength of the CP-odd component in the coupling between the Higgs boson and the electroweak gauge bosons in two effective field theory bases: d[over ˜] in the HISZ basis and c_{HW[over ˜]} in the Warsaw basis. The results presented are the most stringent constraints on CP violation in the coupling between Higgs and weak bosons. The 95% C.L. constraint on d[over ˜] is derived for the first time and the 95% C.L. constraint on c_{HW[over ˜]} has been improved by a factor of 5 compared to the previous measurement.

Abstract
Spider pulsars are neutron stars that have a companion star in a close orbit. The companion star sheds material to the neutron star, spinning it up to millisecond rotation periods, while the orbit shortens to hours. The companion is eventually ablated and destroyed by the pulsar wind and radiation1,2. Spider pulsars are key for studying the evolutionary link between accreting X-ray pulsars and isolated millisecond pulsars, pulsar irradiation effects and the birth of massive neutron stars3-6. Black widow pulsars in extremely compact orbits (as short as 62 minutes7) have companions with masses much smaller than 0.1 M⊙. They may have evolved from redback pulsars with companion masses of about 0.1-0.4 M⊙ and orbital periods of less than 1 day8. If this is true, then there should be a population of millisecond pulsars with moderate-mass companions and very short orbital periods9, but, hitherto, no such system was known. Here we report radio observations of the binary millisecond pulsar PSR J1953+1844 (M71E) that show it to have an orbital period of 53.3 minutes and a companion with a mass of around 0.07 M⊙. It is a faint X-ray source and located 2.5 arcminutes from the centre of the globular cluster M71.

Abstract
High-resolution neutron and THz spectroscopies are used to study the magnetic excitation spectrum of Cs_{2}CoBr_{4}, a distorted-triangular-lattice antiferromagnet with nearly XY-type anisotropy. What was previously thought of as a broad excitation continuum [L. Facheris et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 129, 087201 (2022)PRLTAO0031-900710.1103/PhysRevLett.129.087201] is shown to be a series of dispersive bound states reminiscent of "Zeeman ladders" in quasi-one-dimensional Ising systems. At wave vectors where interchain interactions cancel at the mean field level, they can indeed be interpreted as bound finite-width kinks in individual chains. Elsewhere in the Brillouin zone their true two-dimensional structure and propagation are revealed.

Abstract
The elliptic (v_{2}) and triangular (v_{3}) azimuthal anisotropy coefficients in central ^{3}He+Au, d+Au, and p+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV are measured as a function of transverse momentum (p_{T}) at midrapidity (|η|<0.9), via the azimuthal angular correlation between two particles both at |η|<0.9. While the v_{2}(p_{T}) values depend on the colliding systems, the v_{3}(p_{T}) values are system independent within the uncertainties, suggesting an influence on eccentricity from subnucleonic fluctuations in these small-sized systems. These results also provide stringent constraints for the hydrodynamic modeling of these systems.

Observation of Directed Flow of Hypernuclei _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H in sqrt[s_{NN}]=3 GeV Au+Au Collisions at RHIC. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 130:212301. Abstract
We report here the first observation of directed flow (v_{1}) of the hypernuclei _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H in mid-central Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=3 GeV at RHIC. These data are taken as part of the beam energy scan program carried out by the STAR experiment. From 165×10^{6} events in 5%-40% centrality, about 8400 _{Λ}^{3}H and 5200 _{Λ}^{4}H candidates are reconstructed through two- and three-body decay channels. We observe that these hypernuclei exhibit significant directed flow. Comparing to that of light nuclei, it is found that the midrapidity v_{1} slopes of _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H follow baryon number scaling, implying that the coalescence is the dominant mechanism for these hypernuclei production in the 3 GeV Au+Au collisions.

Abstract
We report the triton (t) production in midrapidity (|y|<0.5) Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=7.7-200 GeV measured by the STAR experiment from the first phase of the beam energy scan at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The nuclear compound yield ratio (N_{t}×N_{p}/N_{d}^{2}), which is predicted to be sensitive to the fluctuation of local neutron density, is observed to decrease monotonically with increasing charged-particle multiplicity (dN_{ch}/dη) and follows a scaling behavior. The dN_{ch}/dη dependence of the yield ratio is compared to calculations from coalescence and thermal models. Enhancements in the yield ratios relative to the coalescence baseline are observed in the 0%-10% most central collisions at 19.6 and 27 GeV, with a significance of 2.3σ and 3.4σ, respectively, giving a combined significance of 4.1σ. The enhancements are not observed in peripheral collisions or model calculations without critical fluctuation, and decreases with a smaller p_{T} acceptance. The physics implications of these results on the QCD phase structure and the production mechanism of light nuclei in heavy-ion collisions are discussed.

Abstract
PURPOSE Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with distal symmetric polyneuropathy (DSPN) is a disease involving the nervous system caused by metabolic disorder, while the metabolic spectrum and key metabolites remain poorly defined. METHODS Plasma samples of 30 healthy controls, 30 T2DM patients, and 60 DSPN patients were subjected to nontargeted metabolomics. Potential biomarkers of DSPN were screened based on univariate and multivariate statistical analyses, ROC curve analysis, and logistic regression. Finally, another 22 patients with T2DM who developed DSPN after follow-up were selected for validation of the new biomarker based on target metabolomics. RESULTS Compared with the control group and the T2DM group, 6 metabolites showed differences in the DSPN group (P < 0.05; FDR < 0.1; VIP > 1) and a rising step trend was observed. Among them, phenylacetylglutamine (PAG) and sorbitol displayed an excellent discriminatory ability and associated with disease severity. The verification results demonstrated that when T2DM progressed to DSPN, the phenylacetylglutamine content increased significantly (P = 0.004). CONCLUSION The discovered and verified endogenous metabolite PAG may be a novel potential biomarker of DSPN and involved in the disease pathogenesis.

[Silencing RAB27a inhibits proliferation, invasion and adhesion of triple-negative breast cancer cells]. NAN FANG YI KE DA XUE XUE BAO = JOURNAL OF SOUTHERN MEDICAL UNIVERSITY 2023; 43:560-567. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of inhibition of RAB27 protein family, which plays a pivotal role in exosome secretion, on biological behaviors of triple-negative breast cancer cells. METHODS Quantitative real-time PCR and Western blotting were used to examine the expressions of RAB27 family and exosome secretion in 3 triple-negative breast cancer cell lines (MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-468, and Hs578T) and a normal breast epithelial cell line (MCF10A). The effect of small interfering RNA (siRNA)-mediated silencing of RAB27a and RAB27b on exosome secretion in the 3 breast cancer cell lines was detected using Western blotting, and the changes in cell proliferation, invasion and adhesion were evaluated. RESULTS Compared with normal breast epithelial cells, the 3 triple-negative breast cancer cell lines exhibited more active exosome secretion (P < 0.001) and showed significantly higher expressions of RAB27a and RAB27b at both the mRNA and protein levels (P < 0.01). Silencing of RAB27a in the breast cancer cells significantly down-regulated exosome secretion (P < 0.001), while silencing of RAB27b did not significantly affect exosome secretion. The 3 breast cancer cell lines with RAB27a silencing-induced down-regulation of exosome secretion showed obvious inhibition of proliferation, invasion and adhesion (P < 0.01) as compared with the cell lines with RAB27b silencing. CONCLUSION RAB27a plays central role in the exosome secretion in triple-negative breast cancer cells, and inhibiting RAB27a can inhibit the proliferation, invasion and adhesion of the cells.

Measurement of Sequential ϒ Suppression in Au+Au Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV with the STAR Experiment. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 130:112301. [PMID: 37001106 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.130.112301] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 07/14/2022] [Revised: 11/30/2022] [Accepted: 01/26/2023] [Indexed: 06/19/2023]
Abstract
We report on measurements of sequential ϒ suppression in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV with the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) through both the dielectron and dimuon decay channels. In the 0%-60% centrality class, the nuclear modification factors (R_{AA}), which quantify the level of yield suppression in heavy-ion collisions compared to p+p collisions, for ϒ(1S) and ϒ(2S) are 0.40±0.03(stat)±0.03(sys)±0.09(norm) and 0.26±0.08(stat)±0.02(sys)±0.06(norm), respectively, while the upper limit of the ϒ(3S) R_{AA} is 0.17 at a 95% confidence level. This provides experimental evidence that the ϒ(3S) is significantly more suppressed than the ϒ(1S) at RHIC. The level of suppression for ϒ(1S) is comparable to that observed at the much higher collision energy at the Large Hadron Collider. These results point to the creation of a medium at RHIC whose temperature is sufficiently high to strongly suppress excited ϒ states.

Safety and efficacy of using Judkins left 3.5 guiding catheters for transradial right coronary artery intervention. EUROPEAN REVIEW FOR MEDICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL SCIENCES 2023; 27:2341-2349. [PMID: 37013753 DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_202303_31769] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 04/05/2023]
Abstract
OBJECTIVE There is limited data about the use of a Judkins left (JL) 3.5 guiding catheter for routine transradial right coronary artery (RCA) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This study investigated the safety and efficacy of JL3.5 for RCA PCI. PATIENTS AND METHODS Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who underwent transradial RCA PCI between November 2019 and November 2020 at the Second Hospital of Shandong University were included. The study retrospectively compared JL 3.5 vs. other routine guiding catheters (GCs), including Judkins right (JR) 4.0 and Amplatz (left). Logistic multivariable analysis was used to analyze the factors associated with transradial RCA PCI success rate, in-hospital complications, and extra support. RESULTS The study included 311 patients: 136 in the routine GC group and 175 in the JL 3.5 group. There were no significant differences between the two groups regarding in-hospital complications, extra support technics, or success. The multivariable analyses showed that coronary chronic total occlusion (CTO) was negatively associated with intervention success (OR = 0.06, 95% CI: 0.016-0.248, p < 0.001) but positively with extra support (OR = 8.74, 95% CI: 1.518-50.293, p = 0.015). Tortuosity was associated with extra support (OR = 16.50, 95% CI: 3.324-81.589, p = 0.001). In the JL 3.5 group, the left ventricular ejection fraction (OR = 1.11, 95% CI: 1.03-1.20, p = 0.006), CTO (OR = 0.07, 95% CI: 0.008-0.515, p = 0.009), and tortuosity (OR = 0.17, 95% CI: 0.03-0.95, p = 0.043) were independently associated with intervention success. CONCLUSIONS JL 3.5 appears to be as safe and effective as the JR 4.0 and Amplatz (left) catheters for RCA PCI. When using the JL 3.5 catheter for RCA PCI, heart function, CTO, and tortuosity should be considered.

Abstract
AIM To explore the specific association between sarcopenia and prediabetes based on large population samples. METHODS A total of 16,116 U.S. adults aged 20-59 with dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) was identified from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES). Sarcopenia was defined according to appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASM) adjusted for body mass index (BMI). Multivariable binary logistic regression models were used to ascertain odds ratios (ORs) for developing prediabetes. Stratified analyses were also performed. RESULTS Prevalence of prediabetes was higher in the sarcopenia group (n = 1055) compared with the non-sarcopenia group (n = 15,061) (45.50% vs 28.74%, P < 0.001). Sarcopenia was strongly associated with an increased risk of prediabetes after full adjustment (OR = 1.21, 95CI%: 1.05, 1.39, P = 0.009). In the stratified analysis, this association remained significant independent of obesity, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. When sarcopenia subjects combined with obesity especially central obesity, the risk of prediabetes was the highest (OR = 2.63, 95CI%: 2.22, 3.11, P < 0.001). Furthermore, a greater proportion of any of impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) individuals was observed in the sarcopenia group compared to the non-sarcopenia group among prediabetes population (41.72% vs 24.06%, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Sarcopenia was positively associated with prevalent prediabetes especially IGT in the non-elderly. Moreover, synergistic interactions between the sarcopenia and obesity could greatly increase the risk of prediabetes.

Beam Energy Dependence of Fifth- and Sixth-Order Net-Proton Number Fluctuations in Au+Au Collisions at RHIC. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 130:082301. Abstract
We report the beam energy and collision centrality dependence of fifth and sixth order cumulants (C_{5}, C_{6}) and factorial cumulants (κ_{5}, κ_{6}) of net-proton and proton number distributions, from center-of-mass energy (sqrt[s_{NN}]) 3 GeV to 200 GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC. Cumulant ratios of net-proton (taken as proxy for net-baryon) distributions generally follow the hierarchy expected from QCD thermodynamics, except for the case of collisions at 3 GeV. The measured values of C_{6}/C_{2} for 0%-40% centrality collisions show progressively negative trend with decreasing energy, while it is positive for the lowest energy studied. These observed negative signs are consistent with QCD calculations (for baryon chemical potential, μ_{B}≤110 MeV) which contains the crossover transition range. In addition, for energies above 7.7 GeV, the measured proton κ_{n}, within uncertainties, does not support the two-component (Poisson+binomial) shape of proton number distributions that would be expected from a first-order phase transition. Taken in combination, the hyperorder proton number fluctuations suggest that the structure of QCD matter at high baryon density, μ_{B}∼750 MeV at sqrt[s_{NN}]=3 GeV is starkly different from those at vanishing μ_{B}∼24 MeV at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV and higher collision energies.

Turbulence characteristics and flow dynamics impacts on the H-mode transition in favourable magnetic geometry with lower power threshold. PHILOSOPHICAL TRANSACTIONS. Abstract
The L-H transition power threshold (PLH) in favourable magnetic geometry (ion ∇B drift pointing towards X-point) is much lower than in the unfavourable magnetic geometry (ion ∇B drift pointing away from X-point) on multiple tokamaks. In a systematic experiment on DIII-D, the ion ∇B drift direction was changed continuously from the unfavourable to favourable configuration during plasma discharges. During such process, the input neutral beam power was kept constant at a value that was above PLH for favourable configuration, but lower than PLH for unfavourable configuration. Toroidal field and plasma current were also kept constant and there was little change in the edge electron density ne and electron temperature Te profiles. The density fluctuation amplitude was reduced approaching the transition, while a large increase of turbulence Reynolds stress and flow shear were simultaneously observed. The turbulence decorrelation rate was found to increase as the ion ∇B drift direction was moving towards the favourable configuration, but the flow shear also increased and exceeded the turbulence decorrelation rate. These measurements demonstrate an important correlation between turbulence and turbulence-driven flow and a lowering of PLH, provide insights into the underlyingphysics behind the hidden parameters and inform a more complete physics-based model of the L-H transition power threshold. This article is part of a discussion meeting issue 'H-mode transition and pedestal studies in fusion plasmas'.

Anticeramide Improves Sjögren's Syndrome by Blocking BMP6-Induced Th1. J Dent Res 2023; 102:93-102. Abstract
T-cell dysfunction has been shown to play an important role in the pathogenesis of Sjögren's syndrome (SS). In recent studies, the increased expression of BMP6 has been reported to be related to SS. However, the roles that BMP6 plays in immune homeostasis in the development of SS as well as the downstream signals activated by BMP6 remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the effects and molecular mechanisms of BMP6 on naive CD4+ T cells, showing that BMP6 could upregulate interferon (IFN)-γ secretion from CD4+ T cells through a ceramide/nuclear factor-κB pathway, with no effect on T-cell activation or proliferation. Moreover, an in vivo study showed that anticeramide treatment (myriocin) for an SS animal model (NOD/LtJ mice) could significantly decrease the IFN-γ expression and Th1 frequency in the salivary glands and suppress the inflammation infiltration in salivary glands and maintain the salivary flow rates, both of which reflect SS-like symptoms. This study identifies a promising target that could effectively attenuate the abnormal state of CD4+ T cells and reverse the progression of SS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aimed to investigate the association between different forms of sedentary behavior and cognitive function in Chinese community-dwelling older adults. DESIGN A longitudinal study with a 2-year follow-up. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS Data from 5356 participants at baseline and 956 participants at the follow-up of the Anhui Healthy Longevity Survey (AHLS) were analysed. MEASUREMENTS Cognitive function was evaluated by the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) was classified according to education-specific criteria. Self-report questionnaires were used to assess the sedentary behavior of the participants. RESULTS The participants who reported longer screen-watching sedentary duration had higher MMSE scores (1-2 hours: β=0.758, 95% CI: 0.450, 1.066; > 2 hours: β=1.240, 95% CI: 0.917, 1.562) and lower likelihoods of MCI (1-2 hours: OR= 0.787, 95% CI: 0.677, 0.914; >2 hours: OR=0.617, 95% CI: 0.524, 0.726). The participants who had played cards (or mahjong) sedentary had higher MMSE scores (β= 1.132, 95% CI: 0.788, 1.476) and lower likelihoods of MCI (OR=0.572, 95% CI: 0.476, 0.687). However, the participants who reported longer other forms of sedentary duration had lower MMSE scores (1-2 hours: β=-0.409, 95% CI: -0.735, -0.082; > 2 hours: β=-1.391, 95% CI: -1.696, -1.087) and higher likelihoods of MCI (1-2 hours: OR=1.271, 95% CI: 1.081, 1.496; > 2 hours: OR=1.632, 95% CI: 1.409, 1.889). No significant association was detected between sedentary duration and MCI incidence. CONCLUSION Variations in the impact of diverse sedentary behaviors on the cognitive function were detected in Chinese older adults. However, such associations were cross-sectional and longitudinal associations were not found in the current study.

Abstract
A new high radial resolution 2D multichannel Charge eXchange Imaging (CXI) diagnostic is under development for deployment at DIII-D. The diagnostic system will measure low-to-intermediate radial wavenumber carbon density fluctuations by observing the n = 8 - 7 (λ = 529.06 nm) C-VI emission line, resulting from charge exchange collisions between heating neutral beam atoms and the intrinsic carbon ion density. The new CXI diagnostic will provide measurements with ΔR ∼ 0.4 cm to access higher kr instabilities (kr < 8 cm-1) predicted to arise in the steep-gradient region of the H-mode pedestal. The CXI system will feature 60 fiber bundles in a 12 × 5 arrangement, with each bundle consisting of four 1 mm fibers. A custom optical system has been designed to filter and image incoming signals onto an 8 × 8 avalanche photodiode array. Additionally, a novel electronics suite has been designed and commissioned to amplify and digitize the relatively low-intensity carbon signal at a 2 MHz bandwidth. Forward modeling results of the active C-VI emission suggest sufficient signal to noise ratios to resolve turbulent fluctuations. Prototype measurements demonstrate the ability to perform high frequency pedestal measurements.

Abstract
Two newly developed, eight-channel, integrated Beam Emission Spectroscopy (BES) detectors have been installed at Huan-Liuqi-2A tokamak, which extends the existing 16 single-channel modular BES system with additional 16 spatial channels. The BES collects the Doppler-shifted Balmer Dα emission with a spatial resolution of 1 cm (radial) × 1.5 cm (poloidal) and a temporal resolution of 0.5 µs to measure long-wavelength (k⊥ρi < 1) density fluctuations. Compared to the modular BES, the dark noise of the integrated BES is reduced by 50%-60% on average. The signal-to-noise ratio of the integrated BES system is optimized by the high light throughput front-end optics, high quantum efficiency photodiodes, high-gain, low-noise preamplifiers, and sufficient cooling capacity provided by the thermoelectric cooling (TEC) units that maintain the detectors at -20 °C. Crosstalk between channels that share the same optical system is found to be negligible. High-quality density fluctuation data enables 2D (radial-poloidal) imaging of turbulence, which allows for multi-channel spectral analysis, multi-channel cross-correlation analysis and velocimetry analysis. Preliminary results show that BES successfully captures the spatiotemporal features of the local turbulence and obtains statistically consistent turbulence characterization results.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the level and influence factors of inflammatory factors among electrical workers in Hainan Province. Methods: A total of 509 electrical workers were selected as the research subjects with random cluster sampling in September 2020. Basic information was collected by questionnaire, the serum IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α levels of the subjects were detected by Luminex.Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-wallis H test were used for univariate analysis. Ordinal logistic regression analysis was used for potential influencing factors of the level of inflammatory factors. Results: The median concentrations of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α in serum were 2.78, 9.77 and 8.18 pg/ml. Compared with women, male was a risk factor for the increase of IL-6 levels (OR=1.80, 95%CI: 1.08~3.00, P=0.024) . Compared with 51-60 years old, 21-31 years old (OR=0.27, 95%CI: 0.18~0.42, P<0.001) , 31-41 years old (OR=0.27, 95%CI: 0.17~0.43, P<0.001) and 41-51 years old (OR=0.64, 95%CI: 0.41~0.99, P=0.043) were protective factors for the increase of IL-8 level. Compared with day shift workers, shift work was a risk factor for the increase of IL-8 level (OR=1.73, 95%CI: 1.21~2.48, P=0.003) . Compared with women, male was a risk factor for the increase of TNF-α levels (OR=2.87, 95%CI: 1.70~4.86, P<0.001) . Compared with workers who exposed to 7 or more occupational hazard factors, exposed to 1~3 (OR=0.53, 95%CI: 0.30~0.92, P=0.024) occupational hazard factors were protective factors for the increase of TNF-α levels. Conclusion: The level of inflammatory factors was related to sex, age, work system and occupational environment, which can provide basic data for follow-up research on occupational population.

Spin Density Wave versus Fractional Magnetization Plateau in a Triangular Antiferromagnet. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 129:087201. Abstract
We report an excellent realization of the highly nonclassical incommensurate spin-density wave (SDW) state in the quantum frustrated antiferromagnetic insulator Cs_{2}CoBr_{4}. In contrast to the well-known Ising spin chain case, here the SDW is stabilized by virtue of competing planar in-chain anisotropies and frustrated interchain exchange. Adjacent to the SDW phase is a broad m=1/3 magnetization plateau that can be seen as a commensurate locking of the SDW state into the up-up-down (UUD) spin structure. This represents the first example of the long-sought SDW-UUD transition in triangular-type quantum magnets.
