Abstract
Objective: To analyze the blood pressure changes of adults aged 18-59 years in rural area of Shanxi province based on a cohort study, and provide reference for the study of the blood pressure level of rural residents and hypertension prevention and control in rural areas in China. Methods: Data were obtained from Shanxi Nutrition and Chronic Disease Family Cohort from 2002 to 2015. Subjects aged <18 years or ≥60 years and individuals with hypertension at baseline survey in 2002, and those who had taken antihypertensive drugs for nearly two weeks during the follow-up survey in 2015 were excluded from the study. A total of 1 629 subjects aged 18-59 years were included in the analyses of the blood pressure level and its change from the baseline survey in 2002 to follow-up survey in 2015. Results: The systolic blood pressure (SBP) of the subjects increased from (122.7±10.4) mmHg in 2002 to (132.8±17.6) mmHg in 2015 and the diastolic pressure (DBP) increased from (72.7±6.9) mmHg in 2002 to (78.8±10.3) mmHg in 2015. The SBP in men and women increased with growth rates of 6.7% and 9.5%. While DBP in men and women increased with growth rates of 9.3% and 7.8%. The SBP levels of those aged 18-, 30-, 40- and 50-59 years increased with growth rates of 5.0%, 6.7%, 9.4% and 11.8%. While the DBP of these age groups increased with growth rates of 12.2%, 8.2%, 8.2% and 6.5%. Conclusions: The blood pressure of adults aged 18-59 years old in rural area of Shanxi showed a substantially increasing trend. The mean increase level of SBP in women was higher than that in men, and increased with age. While the mean increase level of DBP in men is higher than that in women, and decreased with age.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate China statistics of extracorporeal life support (ECLS) in 2017. Methods: The statistics data was collected by provincial coordinators assigned by Chinese Society of Extracorporeal Life Support in 2018, including cases, centers, and indications. Results: Two thousand eight hundred and twenty-six cases were reported by 233 ECLS centers. There was an increase of 129% in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) cases and an increase of 64% in ECMO centers compared with that in 2016 (1 234 cases and 142 centers). ECMO cases was associated with regional per capita gross domestic product (GDP) positively (r=0.619, P<0.001). ECMO centers was associated with regional GDP (r=0.416, P=0.020) and regional per capita GDP positively (r=0.666, P<0.001) as well. Adult patients accounted for 86.6% of total ECMO cases. Pediatric and neonatal patients only accounted for 10.5% and 2.9%, respectively. Conclusions: There was a growth in ECLS cases and ECLS centers in China in 2017. The majority of ECLS cases and centers were in developed regions. The proportion of ECLS indications in China was in accordance with that in Extracorporeal Life Support Organization registry gradually. The development of ECLS for critically ill patients still has a tremendous potential in China.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of the mixed epithelial and stromal tumour family of kidney. Methods: Eight cases of the mixed epithelial and stromal tumour family of kidney were retrospectively analyzed. Before operation, radiologic evaluation was performed in all cases, including CT and MRI scan. Three cases were diagnosed as cystic renal cell carcinoma, 5 cases were diagnosed as renal complex cysts. Radical nephrectomy was performed in 4 cases and partial nephrectomy was performed in 4 cases. Results: The manifestation of the pathological specimens were multilocular cystic or cystic solid tumors grossly. Microscopically, the tumors were composed of two components, epithelial and stromal. Immunohistochemical staining showed that the epithelial components of the tumors were positive for AE1/AE3 (8/8), CK18 (3/3), and CK-7 (1/1). The stromal components were positive for PR (8/8), ER (6/8), Vim (6/6), Desmin (5/5), and SMA (5/5). HB-45 staining were negative (7/7) and Ki-67 staining were negative (7/8). All cases were diagnosed as the mixed epithelial and stromal tumour family of kidney. All patients were followed up for 3-124 months, with a median follow-up of 41 months. No tumour recurrence or metastasis were observed. Conclusion: The mixed epithelial and stromal tumour family of kidney mostly occurs in women, but have no specific clinical manifestations. They were often misdiagnosed as cystic renal cell carcinoma before operation. These following imaging features may be helpful for diagnosis. The definite diagnosis of the disease depends on the pathological examination, and immunohistochemistry plays an important role in differential diagnosis. Surgical treatment is the first choice, and partial nephrectomy is feasible. Most of the tumors are benign, and the patients can be cured after complete excision.

Abstract
Objective: To observe serum levels of periostin, ECP, IgE in the antibiotic enterprise workers, and study the role of periostin, ECP, IgE in the development of allergic inflammation. Methods: 90 cases with asthma or rhinitis were enrolled as disease group, another 117 workers exposed to 7-ACA、6-APA dust without suffering from allergic illness, are chosen as group of dust exposed, and 192 healthy workers who didn't contact dust were chosen as control group. Questionnaires were used to learn their basic information.Lung function was determined with a portable spirometer.The expression levels of periostin、ECP and IgE in serum were measured by enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay. Results: The exposure group and disease group had significantly lower forced vital capacity (FVC) , forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV(l.0)) , and FEV(l.0)/FVC ratio than the control group (P<0.05) . The disease group had significantly higher eosinophil than the control group (P<0.05) . Compared with the control group, the exposure group, the disease group, asthma subgroup, rhinitis subgroup of serum periostin and IgE increased, the differences are statistically significant (P<0.05) . Serum levels of ECP in the workers of asthma subgroup were significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05) . Serum expression levels of periostin were positively correlated with IgE, ECP in workers (P<0.001) , serum levels of periostin were negatively correlated with FEV(1.0) in workers (P<0.05) . Multiple logistics regression analysis found that exposure to 7-ACA or 6-APA (OR=3.09, 95%CI: 1.83-5.21) , age>47years (OR=2.53, 95%CI: 1.22-5.26) , higher ECP (OR=1.04, 95%CI: 1.01-1.06) were risk factors for increased serum periostin level. Conclusion: Occupational exposure to 7-ACA or 6-APA can result in higher serum periostin level, exposure to 7-ACA or 6-APA, age>47 years, higher ECP are risk factors for increased serum periostin level.

Abstract
Background It has been demonstrated previously that induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have immunosuppressive effects on activated T cells. However, the effects of iPSC-MSCs on quiescent T cells are still unknown. The aim of this study was to identify the immunomodulatory role of iPSC-MSCs on resting peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from allergic rhinitis (AR) patients. Methods PBMCs were cocultured with iPSC-MSCs without any stimulation, following which lymphocyte proliferation, activation of T cells, TH1/TH2 and regulatory T (Treg) cell differentiation, and Treg cell function were analyzed. The roles of soluble factors and cell–cell contact were examined to investigate the mechanisms involved. Results iPSC-MSCs promoted the proliferation of resting lymphocytes, activated CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, and upregulated and activated Treg cells without any additional stimulation. In addition, iPSC-MSCs balanced biased TH1/TH2 cytokine levels. Cell–cell contact was confirmed to be a possible mechanism involved. NF-κB was identified to play an important role in the immunomodulatory effects of iPSC-MSCs on quiescent T cells. Conclusions iPSC-MSCs activate quiescent T cells and elevate regulatory T-cell response in AR patients, suggesting different immunomodulatory functions of iPSC-MSCs according to the phases of diseases. Therefore, iPSC-MSCs are a potential therapeutic candidate for treating allergic airway inflammation. Abstract
We have performed quantitative analysis of {332}〈113〉 twinning in a β-Ti-15Mo (wt.%) alloy by in situ scanning electron microscopy and electron backscattering diffraction (EBSD). Microstructure-twinning relations were evaluated by statistical analysis of the evolving twin structure upon deformation at room temperature. Our analysis reveals that at the early stages of deformation (ε < 1.5 to 2.0%), primary twinning is mainly determined by the applied macroscopic stress resolved on the twin system. Most of the primary twins (~70-80% of the analyzed twins) follow Schmid's law with respect to the macroscopic stress, and most of the growth twins (~ 85% of the analyzed twins) correspond to the higher stressed variant. In the grain size range studied here (40-120 μm), we find that several twin parameters such as number of twins per grain and number of twins per grain boundary area exhibit grain size dependence. We ascribe these effects to the grain size dependence of twin nucleation stress and apparent critical resolved shear stress for twinning, respectively.

Abstract
Airway epithelial cell injury is a key triggering event to activate allergic airway inflammation, such as asthma. We previously reported that administration of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) significantly alleviated allergic inflammation in a mouse model of asthma, and the mmu-miR-21/ACVR2A axis may be involved. However, whether MSCs protect against bronchial epithelial cell injury induced by hypoxia, and the underlying mechanism, remain unknown. In our study, the human bronchial epithelial cell line BEAS-2B was induced to undergo apoptosis with a hypoxia mimic of cobalt chloride (CoCl2) damage. Treatment of MSCs derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) significantly decreased apoptosis of BEAS-2B cells. There was high miR-21 expression in injured BEAS-2B cells after MSC treatment. Transfection of the miR-21 mimic significantly decreased apoptosis of BEAS-2B, and transfection of a miR-21 inhibitor significantly increased apoptosis. More importantly, the protective effects of MSCs on injured BEAS-2B were reversed by transfection of the miR-21 inhibitor. Binding sites of human miR-21 were identified in the 3’UTR of human ACVR2A. We further determined that CoCl2 stimulation increased ACVR2A expression at both the mRNA and protein levels. Moreover, transfection of the miR-21 mimic further up-regulated ACVR2A expression induced by CoCl2, whereas transfection of the miR-21 inhibitor down-regulated ACVR2A expression. In addition, MSCs increased ACVR2A expression in BEAS-2B cells; however, this effect was reversed after transfection of the miR-21 inhibitor. Our data suggested that MSCs protect bronchial epithelial cells from hypoxic injury via miR-21, which may represent an important target. These findings suggest the potentially wide application of MSCs for epithelial cell injury during hypoxia.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Human induced pluripotent stem cells-derived mesenchymal stem cells (iPSC-MSCs) have been shown to be effective in Type 2 helper T cells (Th2)-dominant eosinophilic allergic airway inflammation. However, the role of iPSC-MSCs in Type 17 helper T cells (Th17)-dominant neutrophilic airway inflammation remains poorly studied. Therefore, this study was to explore the effects of iPSC-MSCs on an experimental mouse model of steroid-resistant neutrophilic airway inflammation and further determine the underlying mechanisms. METHODS A mouse model of neutrophilic airway inflammation was established using ovalbumin (OVA) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Human iPSC-MSCs were systemically administered, and the lungs or bronchoalveolar lavage fluids (BALF) were collected at 4 h and 48 h post-challenge. The pathology and inflammatory cell infiltration, the T helper cells, T helper cells-associated cytokines, nuclear transcription factors and possible signaling pathways were evaluated. Human CD4+ T cells were polarized to T helper cells and the effects of iPSC-MSCs on the differentiation of T helper cells were determined. RESULTS We successfully induced the mouse model of Th17 dominant neutrophilic airway inflammation. Human iPSC-MSCs but not dexamethasone significantly prevented the neutrophilic airway inflammation and decreased the levels of Th17 cells, IL-17A and p-STAT3. The mRNA levels of Gata3 and RORγt were also decreased with the treatment of iPSC-MSCs. We further confirmed the suppressive effects of iPSC-MSCs on the differentiation of human T helper cells. CONCLUSIONS iPSC-MSCs showed therapeutic potentials in neutrophilic airway inflammation through the regulation on Th17 cells, suggesting that the iPSC-MSCs could be applied in the therapy for the asthma patients with steroid-resistant neutrophilic airway inflammation.

Abstract
The T helper 2 (Th2)-type response was considered the hypostasis of allergic airway diseases, including asthma and allergic rhinitis (AR). However, more recent studies have suggested that allergic airway inflammation also depends on innate immunity and is closely related to group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s). This study evaluated the ILC2 levels of asthma subjects, patients with asthma and AR, and healthy individuals, regarding how to investigate the relationship between clinical data and ILC2 levels. It was found that asthma patients and asthma with AR patients had higher ILC2 levels compared to healthy subjects. ILC2s were positively correlated with the percentage of eosinophils in patients with asthma and AR, but not with pulmonary function. ILC2 levels were higher in mild asthma subjects than in patients with severe asthma. This study provides a new interpretation of the pathogenesis of allergic airway inflammation and may provide a new direction for the diagnosis and assessment of allergic airway diseases.

Abstract
Objective: To summarize the experience in diagnosis and treatment of primary retroperitoneal liposarcoma. Methods: The clinic data of 73 cases of primary retroperitoneal liposarcoma were reviewed. The age of patients was 23 to 75 years old, with a median age of 53 years. Forty-five cases were treated for the first time, and 28 cases were re-treated after local recurrence. All patients underwent ultrasonography, CT or MRI before operation and were diagnosed of primary retroperitoneal liposarcoma. Results: No lymph node and distant metastasis were found in all patients. The maximum diameter of the tumor was 3-40 cm, with a median diameter of 18.9 cm. Of the 45 patients with primary treatment, 6 patients were in T2 stage and 39 in T3 stage. Of the 28 patients with retreatment after local recurrence, 4 patients were in T1, 8 in T2, and 16 in T3 stage. All the 73 patients received surgery, 7 were treated with adjuvant radiotherapy, and 3 received adjuvant chemotherapy. One hundred and ten operations were performed in 73 patients. Sixty-seven cases were diagnosed of well differentiated liposarcoma, with 60 cases of lipoma-like liposarcoma and 7 cases of sclerosing liposarcoma. Nine cases were diagnosed of dedifferentiated liposarcoma, 16 cases were myxoid liposarcoma, and 2 cases were pleomorphic liposarcoma. Sixteen cases were mixed types. A total of 69 cases were followed up for 6 months to 13 years, with an average of 4 years. Sixty-six cases obtained complete resection, 34 cases relapsed, and the recurrence rate was 51.5% (34/66). Distant metastasis occurred in 4 cases. Fourteen cases died of tumor recurrence or distant metastasis and the rest were all alive. Four cases lost follow-up after 3 months. No matter in the initial treatment group or the retreatment group, the recurrence rate of combined organ resection is lower than that of simple tumor resection, and the average recurrence time was longer. Results: Primary retroperitoneal liposarcoma was rare in clinical experience. CT is the most effective method in the diagnosis of retroperitoneal liposarcoma, however pathological examination was still the key to the diagnosis. The main treatment of retroperitoneal liposarcoma was surgical resection. Complete resection was the objective of the operation, and the combined viscera resection was performed for those with invasion of other organs. Retroperitoneal liposarcoma had the characteristics of local recurrence after operation and insensitivity to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but the recurrent tumor can still be resected.

Abstract
Objective: To analyse the corneal and conjunctival sensitivities of premature babies and to study the relevant influencing factors. Methods: Cross-sectional study. One hundred premature infants born at Women's Hospital School of Medicine Zhejiang University between May 2015 and September 2015 were enrolled, among which 51 were male (51%) and 49 were female (49%), the mean gestational age was (30.93±1.75)w, the mean corrected gestational age was (33.65±1.53)w, the mean birth weight was (1 592±336)g. The thresholds of cornea and conjunctiva of infants' left or right eyes were measured with Cochet-Bonnet aesthesiometer at 8-10 o'clock every morning when they naturally woke up, the minimum length of nylon wire that induced three successive times of eye-blink responses was recorded. Paired sample t test was used to compare the corneal and conjunctival sensitivities, the ocular surface sensitivities of preterm infants of different gender were compared using independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to analyze the correlation of corneal and conjuncitval sensitivities with gestational age, birth weight, age and corrected gestational age. Results: The mean corneal sensitivity was (44.85±5.53) mm and the mean conjunctival sensitivity was (23.50±5.48)mm in premature babies, corneal sensitivity was significantly higher than conjunctival sensitivity (t=25.620, P<0.001). No statistical significance was found between male and female preterm infants in corneal sensitivity [(44.80±5.83) mm vs. (44.90±5.25) mm, t=-0.085, P=0.933] and conjunctival sensitivity[(23.14±5.83) mm vs. (23.88±5.13) mm, t=-0.673, P=0.502]. Pearson correlation analysis showed that corneal sensitivity was significantly associated with conjunctival sensitivity in prematurity(r=0.676, P<0.001). There was significant correlation between corneal sensitivity and age, corrected gestational age (r=0.238, P=0.017; r=0.679, P<0.001), however no significant correlation was found between corneal sensitivity and gestational age, birth weight in preterm infants (r=0.067, P=0.510; r=-0.179, P=0.075). There was significant correlation between conjunctival sensitivity and corrected gestational age (r=0.490, P<0.001), however no significant correlation was found between conjunctival sensitivity and gestational age, birth weight and age in preterm infants (r=0.078, P=0.439; r=-0.096, P=0.344; r=0.151, P=0.133). Multiple linear regression revealed that corneal sensitivity(Y1) was positively correlated with corrected gestational age(X), the regression equation was Y1=2.45X-37.52, the conjunctical sensitivity(Y2) was also positively correlated with corrected gestational age(X), the regression equation was Y2=1.75X-35.41. Conclusions: The corneal sensitivity is higher than conjunctival sensitivity in premature babies.No statistical significance is found between male and female preterm infants in corneal sensitivity and conjunctival sensitivity. The corneal sensitivity and conjunctival sensitivity are correlated with corrected gestational age in preterm infants. The corneal and conjunctival sensitivities of premature babies tend to increase along with the increase of corrected gestational age. (Chin J Ophthalmol, 2018, 54: 115-119).

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the curative effect of AngioJet mechanical thrombus aspiration combined with catheter directed thrombolysis (CDT) on acute lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (LEDVT). Methods: The clinical data of 20 cases of acute LEDVT treated by AngioJet combined with CDT were analyzed. The inferior vena cava filter was implanted preoperatively, and then the thrombolysis was performed by using AngioJet. The thrombolytic catheter was placed for CDT treatment, and the thrombolysis was evaluated by review angiography. Results: All cases were successfully punctured and catheterized. The suction time was (235±75) seconds. The usage of urokinase was (180±90)*10(4) U. The differences before and after thrombolysis of ipsilateral and contralateral thigh circumference were (8.3±1.5) cm and (2.5±1.0) cm, respectively. The differences before and after thrombolysis of the ipsilateral and contralateral calf circumference were (2.4±1.0)cm and (1.5±0.7) cm, respectively. All of which had statistical significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: AngioJet mechanical thrombus aspiration system is a novel and safe method for the treatment of acute LEDVT. When used in conjunction with CDT, its advantages was more significant.

Abstract
BACKGROUNDS Neratinib is a potent EGFR/HER2 kinase inhibitor. Gastrointestinal complications (i.e. diarrhea, vomiting and nausea) are the most common adverse events. In this study, we aimed to investigate (1) the overall incidence and relative risk (RR) of diarrhea, vomiting and nausea and (2) whether combination neratinib therapy increased the incidence of gastrointestinal complications versus neratinib alone. METHODS Relevant studies were identified from the PubMed database, from abstracts presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual conference and from the Web of Science database. Incidences, RRs, and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated. RESULTS The incidences of all-grade diarrhea, vomiting and nausea in the neratinib groups were 89% (95% CI = 77-95%), 31% (95% CI = 25-37%) and 44% (95% CI = 33-55%), respectively. The neratinib arms significantly increased the risk of diarrhea and vomiting in comparison with the control groups (diarrhea: all-grade, RR = 2.06, 95% CI = 1.38-3.08, P = 0.0004; grade 3/4, RR = 8.77, 95% CI = 2.91-26.40, P = 0.0001; vomiting: all-grade, RR = 2.02, 95% CI = 1.10-3.71, P = 0.02; grade 3/4, RR = 7.10, 95% CI = 3.33-15.15, P < 0.00001). CONCLUSIONS Our meta-analysis demonstrates that the neratinib arms are associated with a significantly increased risk of diarrhea and vomiting.

Abstract
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) negatively modulate immune properties. Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)-derived MSCs are alternative source of MSCs. However, the effects of iPSC-MSCs on T cells phenotypes in vivo remain unclear. We established an iPSC-MSC-transplanted host versus graft reaction mouse model using subcapsular kidney injection. Th1, Th2, regulatory T cells (Treg), and Th17 phenotypes and their cytokines were investigated in vivo and in vitro. The role of caspases and the soluble factors involved in the effects of MSCs were examined. We found that iPSC-MSC grafts led to more cell survival and less infiltration of inflammatory cells in mice. iPSC-MSC transplantation inhibited T cell proliferation, decreased Th1 and Th2 phenotypes and cytokines, upregulated Th17 and Treg subsets. Moreover, iPSC-MSCs inhibited the cleavage of caspases 3 and 8 and inhibition of caspases downregulated Th1, Th2 responses and upregulated Th17, Treg responses. Soluble factors were determined using protein array and TGF-β1/2/3, IL-10, and MCP-1 were found to be highly expressed in iPSC-MSCs. The administration of the soluble factors decreased Th1/2 response, upregulated Treg response and inhibited the cleavage of caspases. Our results demonstrate that iPSC-MSCs regulate T cell responses as a result of a combined action of the above soluble factors secreted by iPSC-MSCs. These factors suppress T cell responses by inhibiting the cleavage of caspases. These data provide a novel immunomodulatory mechanism for the underlying iPSC-MSC-based immunomodulatory effects on T cell responses. Stem Cells 2017;35:1719-1732.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare the therapeutic effect of portal vein stenting and endovascular implantation of iodine-125 seeds strand followed by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with or without sorafenib in patients for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with main portal vein tumor thrombus (MPVTT). METHODS A total of 53 patients with HCC complicated by MPVTT who received portal vein stenting and endovascular implantation of iodine-125 seeds strand followed by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined without (group A, n=38) or with (group B, n=15) sorafenib in Affiliated Yancheng Hospital of Southeast University Medical College during January 2010 and August 2015 were analyzed retropectively.Overal survival, progress free survival and procedure-related adverse event were compared between the two groups. RESULTS The technical success rate was 100% for placement of (125)I seeds strand and stent in the obstructed main portal vein.No serious procedure-related adverse events occurred. Median survival time of group A and B were 12.1 and 14.8 months, respectively (P=0.037). Additionally, Median progress free survival time of group A and B were 2.8 and 4.0 months, respectively (P=0.002). CONCLUSIONS Endovascular implantation of iodine-125 seeds strand and portal vein stenting followed by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with sorafenib could improve the survival time, the progress free survival time of patients with HCC complicated by MPVTT.

Abstract
Fibronectin (FN) is a primary component of the mammary mesenchymal compartment and undergoes dramatic changes during breast cancer development. Increased FN expression is associated with an invasive and metastatic breast cancer phenotype. The present study demonstrated that FN causes an epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-like morphological change in MCF-7 breast cancer cells. FN stimulation caused the downregulation of epithelial markers E-cadherin and tight junction protein ZO-1, and the upregulation of mesenchymal markers N-cadherin and vimentin. Additionally, FN promoted cell migration and invasion in MCF-7 cells, with increased expression of calpain-2 and proteolysis of focal adhesion kinase 1 (FAK), indicating calpain activation. Notably, the FN induced changes in morphology and EMT markers were reversed with the treatment of calpain-specific inhibitors, calpain inhibitor I (N-acetyl-L-leucyl-L-leucyl-L-norleucinal), calpeptin and calpain inhibitor IV. Meanwhile, the effects of FN on cell migration and invasion, as well as FAK proteolysis were markedly suppressed by calpain inhibitors. Taken together, the results of the present study indicate that calpain plays an essential role in FN-induced EMT response, and that targeting calpain signaling may be a potential strategy to reduce breast cancer metastasis.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effects of exposure to ozone (O(3)) on sperm quality during different stages of spermatogenesis. Methods: All 1 780 subjects attending to the Reproductive Medicine Center in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University were recruited from April, 4, 2013 to June, 30, 2015. The subjects were living in Wuhan more than 3 months before attending to the program, aged 20 to 40 years. Semen quality (sperm concentration and sperm count) were measured according to standardized protocols. Corresponding daily 8 hours average concentration of O(3), other polluted concentration, average temperature and relative humidity were collected in different time, including lag 0, 10, 70 and 90 d, and lag 0-9 d, lag 10-14 d, lag 70-90 d and lag 0-90 d. After controlling the age, BMI, education level and other confounders, generalized linear Model was used to investigate the association between O(3) and sperm quality during different stages of spermatogenesis. Results: Average daily concentration of O(3) during the study period was (114.20±74.88) μg/m(3) and the mean values of sperm concentration and count were (76.32±50.17) millions/ml and (164.77 ± 133.05) millions/sample, respectively. Exposure to O(3) was associated with decreasing sperm concentration and count. For every 1 μg/m(3) increase of O(3), the decrease of sperm concentration during lag 10, lag 0-9 and lag 10-14 days exposure windows were 0.040 (95%CI: 0.004-0.077) millions/ml, 0.081 (95% CI: 0.003-0.158) millions/ml and 0.059 (95% CI: 0.001-0.116) millions/ml, respectively. And the decrease of sperm count during lag 10, lag 0-9 days exposure windows were 0.105 (95%CI: 0.008-0.202) millions/sample and 0.221 (95% CI: 0.016-0.426) millions/sample. After stratification, in the ozone concentration <P(50) and ≥P(50) groups, and the number of subjects in each exposure windows (lag 0-9, lag 10-14, lag 70-90, lag 0-90 days) were 887 and 893, 890 and 890, 895 and 885, 889 and 891, respectively. Compared with the high ozone concentration group, the effects of low group were more obvious. Furthermore, the effects of low concentration group was the most obvious during lag 10-14 days, for every 1 μg/m(3) increase of O(3), the decrease of sperm concentration was 0.249 (95% CI: 0.028-0.470) millions/ml. After sensitivity analysis, the effects of exposure to ozone on sperm concentration and sperm count remained relatively unchanged. Conclusion: Our study suggested that exposure to O(3) was significantly associated with decreasing semen quality in Wuhan. Moreover, the effects were more obvious during lag 0-9 and lag 10-14 days.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have potent immunomodulatory effects on multiple immune cells and have great potential in treating immune disorders. Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) serve as an unlimited and noninvasive source of MSCs, and iPSC-MSCs have been reported to have more advantages and exhibit immunomodulation on T lymphocytes and natural killer cells. However, the effects of iPSC-MSCs on dendritic cells (DCs) are unclear. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of iPSC-MSCs on the differentiation, maturation, and function of DCs. METHODS Human monocyte-derived DCs were induced and cultured in the presence or absence of iPSC-MSCs. Flow cytometry was used to analyze the phenotype and functions of DCs, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to study cytokine production. RESULTS In this study, we successfully induced MSCs from different clones of human iPSCs. iPSC-MSCs exhibited a higher proliferation rate with less cell senescence than BM-MSCs. iPSC-MSCs inhibited the differentiation of human monocyte-derived DCs by both producing interleukin (IL)-10 and direct cell contact. Furthermore, iPSC-MSCs did not affect immature DCs to become mature DCs, but modulated their functional properties by increasing their phagocytic ability and inhibiting their ability to stimulate proliferation of lymphocytes. More importantly, iPSC-MSCs induced the generation of IL-10-producing regulatory DCs in the process of maturation, which was mostly mediated by a cell-cell contact mechanism. CONCLUSIONS Our results indicate an important role for iPSC-MSCs in the modulation of DC differentiation and function, supporting the clinical application of iPSC-MSCs in DC-mediated immune diseases.

Abstract
AIM To investigate the effect of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on the proliferation, secretion and ultrastructure of liver Kupffer cells (KCs) under high glucose conditions.
METHODS Murine liver KCs were cultured, amplified, and then randomly divided into a high glucose group [(HG), 25.0 mmol/L D-glucose], a normal glucose group [(CON), 11.1 mmol/L D-glucose], a LPS + high glucose group [(LPS-HG), 25.0 mmol/L D-glucose], and a LPS + normal glucose group [(LPS-CON), 11.1 mmol/L D-glucose)]. The KCs in each group were cultured for 24 h, and then LPS was added for the LPS-HG and LPS-CON groups. After 6 h of continuous cultivation, cell proliferation and cell cycle were detected by MTT colorimetric assay and flow cytometry, respectively. Cell supernatants were collected to determine the levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-6 by Luminex xMAP technique. The ultrastructure of KCs was observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
RESULTS MTT colorimetric assay showed that the optical density (OD) of murine liver KCs treated with LPS for 6 h under high glucose conditions increased significantly, but the OD values decreased significantly in the HG and LPS-HG groups compared with those of the CON and LPS-CON groups (P < 0.05). Flow cytometry revealed that high glucose arrested the cell cycle in G0/G1 phase; the percentage of G0/G1 phase cells decreased and that of S + G2/M phase cells increased significantly (P < 0.01) after KCs were treated with LPS for 6. The Luminex xMAP assay showed that the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 increased significantly after murine liver KCs were treated with LPS for 6 h under high glucose conditions, and the changes in TNF-α and IL-1β were more obvious. TEM revealed obvious ultrastructural alterations of KCs treated with LPS for 6 h under high glucose conditions. A large number of autophagosomes were observed in the LPS-HG group, and only few were noted in the HG group. Only vacuolar degenerations were visible in the CON and LPS-CON groups.
CONCLUSION LPS can activate and enhance the proliferation and secretion of murine liver Kupffer cells under high glucose conditions. Both LPS and hyperglycemia can induce ultrastructural alterations of KCs including autophagy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the impacts of high glucose on the repair function of kidney stem cells (KSC) conditional medium to the hypoxia-injured renal tubular epithelium cells (RTEC). METHODS KSC were isolated from the renal papilla in 4-week-Sprague-Dawley rats. The KSC were pretreated in media with high glucose (30 mmol/L) or with normal glucose (5.6 mmol/L), respectively. The supernatants of the pre-treated KSC were collected as the conditional media. The hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) model of rat RTEC was established using the NRK-52E cell line. The effects of KSC conditional media on the H/R RTEC were investigated. RESULTS (1) The best H/R model of RTEC was established using hypoxia for 4 h and reoxygenation 2 h. (2) After hypoxia, the early and late cell apoptosis rates of the H/R RTEC were increased. The H/R RTEC were co-cultured with KSC conditional media for 12 h and 24 h, respectively. The H/R RTEC were co-cultured with DMEM/F12 as a control group. The cell apoptosis rate of H/R RTEC was lower after co-cultured with KSC conditional media (P<0.01), and the cell apoptosis rate of H/R RTEC in high glucose group was much higher than that in normal glucose group after co-cultured 24 h (P=0.02). (3) After hypoxia, the lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels of the H/R RTEC supernatant were increased, and the superoxide dismutase (SOD) level decreased. The LDH and MDA levels were lower and the SOD level was higher after co-cultured with KSC conditional media for 12 h and 24 h, respectively (P<0.01). The LDH and MDA levels of H/R RTEC supernatant were much higher in the high glucose group than in the normal glucose group (P<0.05), and the SOD level of H/R RTEC supernatant was much lower in the high glucose group than in the normal glucose group (P<0.01). CONCLUSION KSC conditional media could repair the H/R injury of RTEC. The effects were mainly by inhibiting cell apoptosis, and reducing oxidative stress; the anti-cell apoptosis ability and the anti-oxidative stress capacity of the conditional medium were reduced after KSC were pre-treated with high glucose.

However, whether lncRNAs are associated with iPSC-MSC immunomodulation in allergic inflammation is still unclear. Methods Mice were induced into an asthmatic state and received treatment consisting of iPSC-MSCs. Memory T cells isolated from sensitized mice were challenged and co-cultured with iPSC-MSCs in vitro. Total RNA from the lungs and separated T cells were processed with an lncRNA/mRNA microarray. A series of bioinformatics technologies were used to screen the target lncRNAs. Results iPSC-MSCs significantly prevented asthma inflammation and decreased the Th2 cytokine levels. Over 1300 lncRNAs were differentially expressed after the induction of asthma, and 846 or 4176 lncRNAs were differentially expressed with iPSC-MSC treatment in mice or in vitro, respectively. After overlapping the differentially expressed lncRNAs produced in a similar manner in mice and in vitro, 23 lncRNAs and 96 mRNAs were selected, in which 58 protein-coding genes were predicted to be potential targets of the 23 lncRNAs. Furthermore, using a series of bioinformatics technologies, 9 lncRNAs co-expressed with the most differentially expressed mRNAs, which were enriched in terms of the immune response, were screened out via Pearson’s correlation coefficient with mRNAs that were involved with inflammatory cytokines and receptors. lncRNAs MM9LINCRNAEXON12105+ and AK089315 were finally emphasized via quantitative real-time PCR validation. Conclusions Our results suggested that aberrant lncRNA profiles were present after asthma induction and iPSC-MSC treatment, suggesting potential targets of allergic inflammation and iPSC-MSC-mediated immunomodulation. Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical application of combined multiple artery-first approach to pancreatoduodenectomy. Methods: The clinical data of 53 patients who were diagnosed with peripancreatic head tumor at Department of Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery of Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University between June 2013 and June 2015 was retrospectively analyzed.Pancreatic enhanced CT scan, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography, ultrasonography and tumor marker detection were applied for all the patients preoperatively.The 53 patients were operated by combined multiple artery-first approach(superior+ posterior approach, superior+ inferior approach, posterior+ inferior approach, superior+ posterior+ inferior approach) according to individualized therapeutic concept.And 42 patients underwent pancreatoduodenectomy, 9 patients underwent palliative operation and 2 patients just received exploratory operation. Results: Forty-two peripancreatic head tumor patients underwent pancreatoduodenectomy by applying combined multiple artery-first approach.The median operation time and intraoperative blood loss were (5.4±3.1)hours and (366±297)ml and the harvested lymph node and duration of hospital stay were 19±5 and (14.0±5.6)days.Nine patients underwent "total mesopancreas excision" and the rate of postoperative pancreatic fistula and R0 resection were 38.1% and 88.1%. Anomalous origin hepatic right artery was detected in one patients during the operation and no death occurred within 30 days postoperatively. Conclusion: According to the tumor location and patient's condition, individualistically applying combined multiple artery-first approach can reduce intraoperative blood loss, terminate unnecessary surgery, detect anomalous origin artery, make the tumor resection more radical and pancreatoduodenectomy more safety.

Abstract
Meriones unguiculatus (Gerbillinae, Rodentia) is widely used as an animal model of human disease. Here, we provide the first report of the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of M. unguiculatus (GenBank accession Nos. KF425526 and NC_023263). The sequence contained the conserved vertebrate pattern of 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNAs, 22 transfer RNAs, and 1 major noncoding region. We identified one extended termination-associated sequence and one conserved sequence block in the non-coding region. The putative origin of replication for the light strand (OL) was 35 bp long. The OL stem and adjacent sequences were highly conserved, but the loop region differed from those of other rodent species. Base composition and codon usage of the 13 protein-coding genes in M. unguiculatus were compared with those of 23 rodent species with previously sequenced mitochondrial genomes. An A+T content of 63.0% was present in M. unguiculatus; this is similar to the Murinae average (62.4 ± 0.8%) and falls between the average for Mus musculus (63.1 ± 0.1%) and Rattus sp (61.7 ± 0.4%). The AT and GC skew values of M. unguiculatus were 0.035 and -0.28, respectively, similar to those of Cricetinae species (0.057 ± 0.05 and -0.31 ± 0.05). The codon families exhibited similar abundance in all 24 species. Analysis of phylogenetic relationships with 23 other rodent species using neighbor-joining and maximum likelihood protocols and the 12 protein-coding regions on the H strand showed that M. unguiculatus should be classified as genus Meriones, sub-family Gerbillinae, family Muridae.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate vitamin D status in middle-aged subjects in Beijing and explore the correlation between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D[25(OH)D] levels and dyslipidemia. METHODS A total of 448 individuals over 40 years old were enrolled in the cross-sectional survey. The general information, blood biochemical and lipid profiles and serum 25(OH)D levels were collected. The subjects were either divided into two groups (the dyslipidemia group and the non-dyslipidemia group) based on the lipid levels, or four groups according to quartiles of 25(OH)D levels. The association between 25(OH)D levels and dyslipidemia risk was analyzed by a logistic regression analysis. RESULTS A total of 234 cases were in dyslipidemia group, which accounted for 52.23% of the subjects. The serum 25(OH)D levels were significantly lower in the dyslipidemia group than in the non-dyslipidemia group both in men and in women (all P<0.05). The median serum 25(OH)D level in the total subjects was 15.7 (12.2, 20.1)μg/L with 91.1% subjects of serum 25(OH)D level<30 μg/L. The proportion of subjects with dyslipidemia (high TC, high TG, high LDL-C, or low HDL-C) increased with the decrease of 25(OH)D level quartiles (P<0.05). After adjustment of confounding factors, the logistic regression analysis showed that subjects in the lowest 25(OH) D quartile group had 143% higher risks for dyslipidemia than those in the highest quartile group. CONCLUSION These findings indicate that 25(OH)D insufficiency is highly prevalent among middle-aged individuals and it may be associated with the risk of dyslipidemia.

Abstract
Objective:To investigate allergen extract and to seek the main allergens of phoenix roebelenii pollen by the technology of two dimensional electrophoresis(2-DE)in protein analysis and immunoblotting.Method:Phoenix roebelenii pollen allergen extract was prepared with routine method, 2-DE combined with immunoblotting assay(Western Blotting),laser imagescanning, 2-DE gel analysis software were used to analyzing its protein components.Result:About 601 soluble proteins spots were revealed in coomassie stained gels.Most of the proteins had a molecular weight (Mr) of 20 to 130 kD, and an isoelectric point(pI) value of 4.0 to 8.0. Immunoblotting of 2-DE were showed and there were 19 specific antigen spots, compared with the controls.Conclusion:2-DE is a good method in protein analysis of ephemeroptera allergen extract, and it is useful in seeking main allergens and further research for allergic components.

Abstract
Administration of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) significantly alleviates allergic airway inflammation. There are no studies that refer to the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) after the BM-MSCs treatment in airway allergic inflammation. We induced a mouse model of asthma and performed the transplantation of BM-MSCs. We analyzed aberrant miRNAs and key immune regulators using both miRNA and messenger RNA (mRNA) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) arrays. We identified that 296 miRNAs were differently expressed after the induction of asthma and/or the treatment of BM-MSCs, in which 14 miRNAs presented the reverse variation tendency between asthma induction and BM-MSCs transplantation. Mmu-miR-21a-3p, mmu-miR-449c-5p, and mmu-miR-496a-3p were further confirmed to be differently expressed with additional samples and quantitative real-time PCR. With an mRNA PCR array, we identified 19 genes to be involved in the allergy induction and the administration of BM-MSCs. Further target genes analysis revealed that mmu-miR-21a-3p was significantly correlated with the immune regulator activin A receptor, Type IIA (Acvr2a). Mmu-miR-21a-3p had opposite expression with Acvr2a after asthma and BM-MSCs treatment. Acvr2a had binding sites for miR-21a for both mice and human, suggesting that miR-21/Acvr2a axis is conserved between human and mice. Dual-luciferase reporter assay showed that mmu-miR-21a-3p negatively regulated the transcript of Acvr2a. In addition, has-miR-21a inhibitor significantly increased the expression of Acvr2a mRNA in BEAS-2B cells under lipopolysaccharide stimulation. Our results suggest that there were different miRNA and mRNA profiles after asthma induction and BM-MSCs treatment, and the miR-21/Acvr2a axis is an important mechanism for the induction of asthmatic inflammation.

Abstract
We have investigated the propagation of {332}<113> twins in a multilayered Ti-10Mo-xFe (x = 1-3) alloy fabricated by multi-pass hot rolling. The material contains a macroscopic Fe-graded structure (about 130 μm width) between 1 and 3 wt% Fe in the direction perpendicular to rolling. We observe strong influence of the Fe-graded structure in the twin propagation behavior. The propagation of {332}<113> twins that are nucleated in Fe-lean regions (~1 wt% Fe) is interrupted in the grain interiors at a specific Fe content, namely, about 2 wt% Fe. We ascribe this effect to the role of Fe content in solid solution on the stress for twin propagation. The interruption of twins in the grain interiors results in the development of characteristic dislocation configurations such as highly dense dislocation walls (HDDWs) associated to strain localization phenomena. The nucleation and propagation of these dislocation configurations is ascribed to the underlying plastic accommodation mechanisms of the stress field at the twin tips. We find that the crystallographic alignment of HDDWs is determined by the stress field at the twin tips and the deformation texture. The excellent plastic accommodation at the interrupted twin tips allows attaining the good ductility of the present material (total elongation of 28%).

Abstract
AIMS To investigate whether serum complement C3 is related to the prevalence and incidence of prediabetes in an adult population. METHODS A cross-sectional (n = 10 206) and prospective cohort study (n = 3333), with a mean (range; 95% CI) follow-up of 2.63 (1-6; 2.58-2.68) years, was conducted in people recruited from the Health Management Centre of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital in Tianjin, China. Measurement of serum C3 concentration, blood fasting glucose, oral glucose tolerance, HbA1c and other potential confounding factors was performed at baseline and each year during the follow-up. Prediabetes was defined according to the criteria of the American Diabetes Association. Adjusted logistic and Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to assess the relationships between C3 quintiles and prediabetes. RESULTS The prevalence and incidence of prediabetes were 38.5% and 119 per 1000 person-years, respectively. In cross-sectional analysis, after adjustment for potential confounders, the odds ratios of prediabetes for increasing quintiles of C3 were 1.00 (reference), 1.32 (95% CI 1.14-1.53), 1.37 (95% CI 1.18-1.59), 1.75 (95% CI 1.51-2.03), 2.25 (95% CI 1.93-2.62; P for trend < 0.0001). In the cohort analysis, the multiple-adjusted hazard ratio of prediabetes in the highest quintile of baseline C3 was 1.43 (95% CI 1.15, 1.78; P for trend < 0.001), when compared with the lowest quintile. CONCLUSIONS These findings indicate that elevated serum C3 levels are significantly related to an increased risk of developing prediabetes in an adult population, suggesting that C3 can be used as a biomarker in high-risk individuals to improve primary prevention of prediabetes and diabetes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the sensitivity of HER-2-positive BT474 breast cancer cells to trastuzumab after knockdown or overexpression of RNA binding protein 38 (RNPC1). METHODS The expressions of RNPC1 and HER-2 mRNA were detected by qRT-PCR, and the expressions of RNPC1, HER-2 and PI3K/AKT proteins were detected by Western blot after transfected with RNPC1 lentiviral vector, respectively. The experimental groups were treated with different concentration of trastuzumab, and cell apoptosis rate was analyzed by 7-AAD/APC double staining flow cytometry, and cell growth inhibition rate was tested by cell counting kit 8 (CCK-8). The expression of apoptosis-related proteins was detected by Western blot assay. RESULTS The results of qRT-PCR showed that overexpression of RNPC1 increased the expressions of RNPC1 and HER-2 mRNA, and the expressions of RNPC1 and HER-2 were decreased after RNPC1 knockdown. The knockdown of RNPC1 decreased the expressions of RNPC1 and HER-2. Moreover, overexpression of RNPC1 decreased and knockdown of RNPC1 increased the levels of p-PI3K and p-AKT while the total protein expressions of both were marginally changed.The results of analysis using a cell counting CCK-8 kit showed that the RNPC1 overexpressed group had a higher growth inhibition rate [(20.33±1.25)%, (35.38±2.05)%, (50.43±2.12)%, (65.35±2.08)% and(76.00±2.16)%, respectively] than that of the control group [(13.67±1.24)%, (27.86±2.05)%, (39.72±1.69)%, (53.33±1.70)% and(62.68±2.07)% ] when treated with different concentrations of trastuzumab (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 μg/ml). The cell apoptosis rates in the RNPC1-overexpressed group [(19.46±1.06)%, (30.87±0.98)%, (50.45±1.13)%, respectively] were also increased compared with that in the control group [(14.38±0.64)%, (21.65±1.24)%, (38.03±0.85)%] when treated with different concentrations of trastuzumab (0, 10, 20 and 30 μg/ml)(P<0.05 for all). Reverse results were observed in the RNPC1 knockdown experiments [experimental groups: (9.67±1.18)%, (21.67±1.23)%, (30.33±1.25)%, (40.33±1.69)%, and (53.00±1.63)%] compared with those of control groups: [(14.00±0.82)%, (27.67±1.25)%, (39.67±1.79)%, (53.67±1.50)%, and (63.33±1.52)%]; and experimental groups: [(11.64±0.68)%, (16.60±1.01)%, and (25.14±3.12)%] compared with those of the control groups: [(14.71±0.61)%, (22.65±0.96)%, and (39.03±0.85)%]. The overexpression of RNPC1 increased the expression levels of Bim and Bad and decreased the level of Bcl-xl, and reverse result was observed after knockdown of RNPC1. CONCLUSION RNPC1 may promote the sensitivity of breast cancer cells to trastuzumab through the increased expression of HER-2 in the BT474 breast cancer cells.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the changes of phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten(PTEN)/ phosphatidyl Inositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/ vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)signaling pathway in a rabbit Kawasaki disease model. METHODS Model of Kawasaki disease was established in weanling Japanese big-eared rabbits with 10% bovine serum venous injection (2.5 ml/kg, 2 times, and 2 week's interval) through the ear. Twenty four rabbits were divided into 4 groups: control group (without injection of 10% bovine serum albumin, six rabbits); 1 day group (sacrificed a the second day after the establishment of Kawasaki disease models, six rabbits); 7 day group (sacrificed at the seventh day after establishment of Kawasaki disease model, six rabbits); 30 day group (sacrificed at the thirtieth day after establishment of Kawasaki disease model, six rabbits). Pathological analysis was performed on coronary artery tissue samples. The express of PTEN and PI3K were detected by immunohistochemistry. The levels of VEGF and CK were also examined with ELISA and white blood cells were counted. RESULTS (1) Coronary artery of model groups was thinner, distorted and had enlarged lumen. (2) PTEN expression in 1 d group, 7 d group and 30 d group were 58.5 ± 12.9, 73.2±9.9 and 109.6 ± 24.4, respectively, significantly higher than in the control group (25.5 ± 6.9, P<0.01 or 0.05). (3) The express of PI3K was significantly upregulated in 1 d group(57.2±11.1)and 7 d group(39.9±4.8) compared to control group(19.1±3.5, P<0.01 or 0.05). The expression level of PI3K in 30 d group was 18.8 ± 7.5, which was similar as control group (P>0.05) and significantly lower than 1 d and 7 d group (both P<0.05). (4) Similarly, the level of VEGF in 1 d group, 7 d group ((89.1 ± 15.5) ng/L, (76.9±9.9) ng/L) were significantly higher while it was significantly lower in 30 d group ((19.8 ± 4.4)ng/L) compared with the control group ((33.9 ± 6.7) ng/L, P<0.01 or 0.05). The level of VEGF in 7 d group was significantly lower than in 1 d group (P<0.05) and the level of VEGF was significantly lower in 30 d group than in 7 d group (P<0.01). (5)Creatine kinase levels were significantly higher in 30 d group than in control group (P<0.05) and there were no significantly different between control group, 1 d group and 7 d group(all P>0.05). (6)White blood cell count were significantly higher in 1 d group, 7 d group and 30 d group than in control group (all P<0.01). CONCLUSION The level of PTEN/PI3K/VEGF signaling pathway change after establishment of rabbit Kawasaki disease model and the signaling pathway might be involved in this model.

Abstract
Poplar-cotton agro-ecosystems are the main agricultural planting modes of plain cotton fields in China. Here, we performed a systematic survey of the diversity and population of arthropod communities in four different combination of poplar-cotton eco-systems, including I) non-transgenic poplar and non-transgenic cotton fields; II) non-transgenic poplar and transgenic cotton fields [Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) cotton]; III) Bt transgenic poplar (high insect resistant strain Pb29) and non-transgenic cotton; and IV) transgenic poplar and transgenic cotton fields, over a period of 3 years. Based on the statistical methods used to investigate community ecology, the effects of transgenic ecosystems on the whole structure of the arthropod community, on the structure of arthropods in the nutritive layer, and on the similarity of arthropod communities were evaluated. The main results were as follows: the transgenic poplar-cotton ecosystem has a stronger inhibitory effect on insect pests and has no impact on the structure of the arthropod community, and therefore, maintains the diversity of the arthropod community. The character index of the community indicated that the structure of the arthropod community of the transgenic poplar-cotton ecosystem was better than that of the poplar-cotton ecosystem, and that system IV had the best structure. As for the abundance of nutritional classes, the transgenic poplar-cotton ecosystem was also better than that of the non-transgenic poplar-cotton ecosystem. The cluster analysis and similarity of arthropod communities between the four different transgenic poplar-cotton ecosystems illustrated that the structure of the arthropod community excelled in the small sample of the transgenic poplar-cotton ecosystems.

Abstract
Although gerbils have been widely used in many areas of biological research over many years, there is currently no effective genetic quality control system available. In the present study, we sought to establish a microsatellite marker system for quality control and conducted an optimized analysis of 137 microsatellite loci in two laboratory gerbil populations and one wild population. Independent sample t-tests on the mean effective allele number, mean of Shannon's information index, and mean HE suggested that 28 of the 137 microsatellite markers were informative for gerbil genetic control. Analysis of 4 laboratory gerbil populations and 1 wild population using the 28 microsatellite loci indicated that allele numbers varied from 1.9639 (Guangzhou, GZ) to 6.6071 (North-West wild, NW). The average of HO versus HE was 0.6236/0.3802, 0.6671/0.4159, 0.4185/0.3464, 0.4592/0.3821, and 0.3972/0.4167 for the Beijing, NW, Hangzhou, Dalian, and GZ populations, respectively. The GZ population showed the greatest differentiation, having higher RST and Nei's standard genetic distances. An AMO-VA revealed high genetic differentiation among the five populations (FST = 0.296). The microsatellite system established here is effective and will be important in future studies for genetic quality control and monitoring of gerbil breeds.

Abstract
Idiopathic hypertrophic pachymeningitis is a rare inflammatory condition with diffuse thickening of the dura mater, which may cause a compressive effect or vascular compromise. We report on a 28-year-old Chinese woman with a history of granulomatous mastitis 7 years previously and oligomenorrhoea, headache, blurred vision, and raised prolactin level 2 years previously, that was diagnosed as prolactinoma and treated conservatively with bromocriptine. However, she had recurrent bilateral vision loss when the bromocriptine was stopped. Her symptoms were resolved by high-dose steroid injection but remained steroid-dependent. Serial magnetic resonance imaging scan showed progressive diffuse thickening of the pachymeningitis with disappearance of pituitary apoplexy. Lumbar puncture showed lymphocytosis with no organisms. Open biopsy of the meninges was performed and histology showed features of inflammatory infiltrates and vasculitis. This is an unusual presentation of a rare condition in this age-group, with co-existing granulomatous mastitis and chronic otitis media, and is a diagnostic challenge mimicking pituitary macroadenoma and meningioma in initial magnetic resonance imaging scans.

Abstract
Poplar-cotton agro-ecosystems are the main agricultural planting modes of cotton fields in China. With increasing acres devoted to transgenic insect-resistant poplar and transgenic insect-resistant cotton, studies examining the effects of transgenic plants on target and non-target insects become increasingly important. We systematically surveyed populations of both target pests and non-target insects for 4 different combinations of poplar-cotton eco-systems over 3 years. Transgenic Bt cotton strongly resisted the target insects Fall webworm moth [Hyphantria cunea (Drury)], Sylepta derogata Fabrieius, and American bollworm (Heliothis armigera), but no clear impact on non-target insect cotton aphids (Aphis gossypii). Importantly, intercrops containing transgenic Pb29 poplar significantly increased the inhibitory effects of Bt cotton on Fall webworm moth in ecosystem IV. Highly resistant Pb29 poplar reduced populations of the target pests Grnsonoma minutara Hubner and non-target insect poplar leaf aphid (Chaitophorus po-pulialbae), while Fall webworm moth populations were unaffected. We determined the effects of Bt toxin from transgenic poplar and cotton on target and non-target pests in different ecosystems of cotton-poplar intercrops and identified the synergistic effects of such combinations toward both target and non-target insects.

Abstract
AIM: To investigate the effects of simulated microgravity and intravenous moxifloxacin on intestinal mucosal barrier in rats with abdominal infection.
METHODS: Sixty healthy adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups (n = 10 each): microgravity + abdominal infection (MAI), microgravity + abdominal infection + moxifloxacin (MAIM), microgravity + sham operation (MSO), normal gravity + abdominal infection (NGAI), normal gravity + abdominal infection + moxifloxacin (NGAIM), and normal gravity + sham operation (NGSO). Tail suspension was used to simulate the weightlessness animal model, and cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) model was used to mimic abdominal infection. The CLP procedure was performed in rats under simulated weightlessness for 48 h. Moxifloxacin hydrochloride (30 mg/kg) was injected via the tail vein for animals in the MAIM and GAIM groups at 0, 24 and 48 h post-CLP. At 60 h post-CLP, blood and ileal samples were collected for measurement of serum diamine oxidase (DAO) and D-lactate (D-LA) by radioimmunoassay, portal endotoxin by kinetic turbidimetric limulus test, Occludin and ZO-1 expression in the ileal mucosa by immunohistochemistry and Western blot, and Fas, Fasl and Bax mRNA expression by real-time PCR. The pathological changes in the ileum were observed under a light microscope.
RESULTS: Light microscopy revealed interstitial edema and vascular congestion in the ileal mucosa and submucosa with focal necrosis and inflammatory cell infiltration in animals with abdominal infection upon simulated microgravity. The pathological alterations in the MAIM and NGAIM groups were alleviated compared with the MAI and NGAI groups. DAO activity, serum D-LA level and portal endotoxin were significantly increased in the MAI and NGAI groups, but significantly decreased in the moxifloxacin treatment groups, with the lowest level in the sham operation groups (P < 0.05). These parameters were significantly higher in animals under simulated microgravity than in animals under normal gravity (P < 0.05). Immunohistochemistry showed that Occludin and ZO-1 proteins stained as brown particles were mainly located in the cell membrane and cytoplasm with a continuous distribution in the normal intestinal mucosa. Their staining was sparse in the MAI and NGAI groups, which was improved in the moxifloxacin treatment groups, especially in the MSO and NGSO groups. Western blot analysis showed that Occludin and ZO-1 proteins were expressed at a low level in the MAI and NGAI groups, up-regulated after moxifloxacin treatment, and highest in the MSO and NGSO groups (P < 0.05). Real-time PCR showed that Fas, Fasl and Bax mRNAs were expressed abundantly in the ileal mucosa in the MAI and NGAI groups, down-regulated in the MAIM and NGAIM groups, and lowest in the MSO and NGSO groups (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION: Simulated microgravity aggravates the damage to intestinal mucosal barrier in rats with CLP-induced abdominal infection, and intravenous moxifloxacin could exert an unambiguous therapeutic effect on the pathological changes in the intestinal mucosal barrier.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the expression and significance of ubiquitously transcribed TPR gene on the X chromosome (UTX) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tissues, then to explore the relationship between UTX expression and renal cancer pathologic characteristics. METHODS In the study, 45 patients with dignosed renal cell carcinoma clinical samples were collected in Peking University Shenzhen Hospital. Total RNA and protein were extracted from the cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues. UTX expression of cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues was detected on both mRNA and protein levels using real time-PCR and IHC, respectively. And the relationship between UTX expression and the 45 patients' clinical characteristics was analyzed. RESULTS The mRNA level of UTX in cancer tissues(C) was 4.4 folds, higher than that of the adjacent normal tissues(N) [ 0.883 2±0.703 8 vs. 0.199 7±0.140 0, P<0.05]. The protein expression of UTX in cancer tissues was up-regulated, and the protein score of cancer tissues was 4 folds, change compared with adjacent normal tissues[12±4 vs. 3±3, P<0.05].The expression of UTX was associated with pathological grade(P=0.004)but without gender, age, tumor size and TNM stage. CONCLUSION UTX is up-regulated in RCC tissues and the expression of UTX is associated with pathological grade, illustrating that UTX may play an important role in renal cancer progression.

Abstract
In order to conduct lunar surface mineral composition studies and content analysis, the Visible and Near-infrared Imaging Spectrometer (VNIS), one of the scientific payloads of the Chang'E 3 Yutu rover, has been developed to detect lunar surface objects and to obtain their reflectance spectra and geometric images. This is achieved with a 45° visual angle and at a height of 0.69 m. VNIS is equipped with a lunar surface calibration function, and the spectral range is 0.45-2.40 μm with a spectral resolution of 2-12 nm. It is capable of synchronously acquiring the full spectrum of lunar surface objects and in situ calibration. Here, we describe the VNIS and explain the preliminary results of the lunar surface exploration and calibration, which provides valuable information for scientific data processing and applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Congenital or acquired abnormalities may lead to a urethral defect that often requires surgical reconstruction. The traditional methods often lead to complications, including urethrocutaneous fistulae and strictures. In this study, we proposed to construct a tissue-engineered sheet graft (TESG) using a bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC)- and smooth muscle cell (SMC)-seeded bladder acellular matrix (BAM) for urethral reconstruction. METHODS Rabbit BMSCs and SMCs were isolated, expanded, and identified in vitro before seeding into BAM as the experimental group, whereas BAM-only was the control group. The graft was used to construct TESG for implantation into the rabbit omentum for 2 weeks before urethral reconstruction. We divided 24 male rabbits into four experimental groups six each, and six other were the control group. Histological analysis was performed at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, and 16 weeks postoperatively. Retrograde urethrography was performed at 16 weeks postoperatively. RESULTS All experimental rabbits survived to they were humanly killed. At 8 weeks, there was no difference between the graft and the normal urethra with no severe shrinkage. At 8 and 16 weeks after TESG grafting in vivo, multilayer urothelium covered the graft, neovascularization was visible within the center of TESG, and organized smooth muscle bundles were present. Retrograde urethrography failed to demonstrate diverticula formation or urethral stricture. Three control rabbits died within 4 weeks postoperatively. Autopsy showed their urethras to be almost completely blocked whereas another three hosts displays urethral strictures. CONCLUSION A TESG was constructed using a BMSC- and SMC-seeded BAM for urethral reconstruction.

Abstract
A raising number of surgeons have chosen laparoscopy-assisted gastrectomy (LAG) as an alternative to open gastrectomy (OG) with D2 lymph node dissection for treatment of advanced gastric cancer (ADG). But no meta-analysis has been performed to evaluate the value of LAG versus OG with regard to safety and efficacy for treatment of ADG. A comprehensive literature research was performed in PubMed, Web of Science and Embase to identify studies that compared LAG and OG with D2 lymph node dissection for treatment of ADG. Data of interest were checked and subjected to meta-analysis with RevMan 5.1 software. 11 studies with 1904 patients (982 in LAG and 922 in OG) were enrolled. Pooled risk ratios (RR) and weighted mean difference (WMD) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were appropriately derived from random-effects models or fixed-effects models. Compared with OG, LAG was associated with less blood loss (WMD = -144.47; P < 0.05), shorter time of first flatus time (WMD = -0.91; P < 0.05) and postoperative hospital stay (WMD = -3.27; P < 0.05), and lower morbidity (RR = 0.70; P < 0.05), but longer operation time (WMD = 41.78; P < 0.05). No significant differences were noted in terms of harvested lymph nodes (WMD = 1.85; P = 0.09), pathological N stage (χ(2) 3.97; P = 0.26), tumor size (WMD = -0.05; P = 0.81), mortality (RR 0.82; P = 0.76), cancer recurrence rate (RR 0.77; P = 0.18) and 3-year overall survival rate (RR 1.09; P = 0.18). Compared with OG, LAG with D2 lymph node dissection for ADG had the advantages of minimal invasion, faster recovery, and fewer complications, and it could achieve the same degree of radicality, harvested lymph nodes, short-term and long-term prognosis as OG, though the operation time was slightly longer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a common type of neuropathic pain occurring after resolution of herpes zoster rash. Although gabapentin is a widely used treatment, some disagreements exist about its efficacy and safety. Meta-analysis was performed to better evaluate the efficacy and safety of gabapentin for management of PHN. METHODS Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials of gabapentin to treat PHN were identified by searching MEDLINE, EMBASE, and CENTRAL databases. Searches were restricted to studies published in English. RESULTS Seven trials involving a total of 2039 participants were identified. Pooled analysis showed that gabapentin reduced PHN-related pain significantly more than placebo (mean difference, MD=-0.89, 95% CI -1.58 to -0.18, P<0.001). Gabapentin reduced pain below baseline by at least 50% in significantly more patients than did placebo (RR=1.59, 95% CI 1.35 to 1.88, P<0.001). Gabapentin was significantly more likely than placebo to lead patients to rate their global impression of change as "much improved" or "very much improved" (RR=1.82, 95% CI 1.41 to 2.35, P=0.003). Gabapentin also improved sleep quality significantly more than did placebo (MD=-0.62, 95% CI -0.67 to -0.57, P<0.001). On the other hand, patients given gabapentin were significantly more likely to experience dizziness, somnolence, peripheral edema, ataxia or gait disturbance and diarrhea. Subgroup analysis on formulation of gabapentin showed that gabapentin enacarbil had similar efficacy of pain relief with other formulations while it may be superior to others in term of compliance and safety. CONCLUSION This meta-analysis indicates that gabapentin is an effective and well-tolerated treatment for patients with PHN.

Abstract
In this article we give a case report on a PTC patient with pancreatic metastasis. In this case, the patient was admitted to our hospital for recurrence of PTC and occupying pancreatic lesions. We considered that the pancreatic neoplasm may be pancreatic metastasis of PTC but there is no previous experience about therapeutic approaches to this type of metastases. After some discussion the distant metastasis within the pancreas was successfully removed by a laparotomy and postoperative histology confirmed the diagnosis. After that surgery, the patient recovered well and then received total thyroidectomy and cervical lymph node dissection for recurrent thyroid cancer. After recovery he was discharged from hospital without further treatment. Eventually, he died of acute myocardial infarction in January 2010. To conclude, it is widely believed that the surgical operation should be chosen more positively in the management of those patients without multiple organ metastases. Thus on one hand it can serve to make a definite diagnosis, and on the other hand it can help the body get rid of the bulk of the tumor burden to prolong survival time of the patients.

Abstract
Establishment of fibroblast cell lines of endangered goat breeds and research on the gene or protein functions based on the cells made a significant contribution to the conservation and utilization of genetic resources. In this study, a fibroblast cell line of Liaoning cashmere goat, frozen in 174 cryovials with 5 × 10(6) cells each, was successfully established from 60 goats ear marginal tissues using explant culture and cryopreservation techniques. Biological analysis of in vitro cultured cell line showed that, the cells were morphologically consistent with fibroblasts; the average viability of the cells was 94.9 % before freezing and 90.1 % after thawing; the growth process of cells was consisted of a lag phase, a logarithmic phase and a plateau phase; cell population doubling time was 65.5 h; more than 90 % of cells were diploid prior to the 6th generation; Neither microbial contamination nor cross-contamination was detected. To determine cell permeability, intracellular path and stability of exogenous proteins during the transduction, a TAT protein transduction domain was fused to the C-terminus of enhanced green fluorescent protein, the established fibroblast cell line was treated with the purified exogenous proteins at various concentrations by adding them to the cell culture media for 1-24 h and assayed cell morphology and protein presence, it was found that the purified exogenous proteins readily entered cells at a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml within 1.5 h and some of them could translocate into nucleus, moreover, the exogenous proteins appeared to be stable inside cells for up to 24 h.

Abstract
Postoperative radiotherapy has shown positive efficacy in lowering the recurrence rate and improving the survival rate in cases involving lymph node (LN) metastasis. However, the radiotherapy target volume remains controversial. Certain published studies have paid more attention to LNs found to be affected during surgery, while little effort has been made to study the LN metastatic pattern following surgery and its influence on the determination of the target volume of postoperative radiotherapy. In this study, the locoregional recurrence of esophageal squamous cell cancer was examined in 134 patients receiving radical surgery with two-field lymph node dissection from 2004 to 2009. In the 134 cases of recurrence, LN metastasis occurred in 126 patients (94.0%) while 13 patients (9.7%) developed anastomotic recurrence and 5 patients (3.7%) experienced tumor bed recurrence. The difference among the groups was statistically significant (P= 0.000). In the 126 cases with lymph node metastasis, the mediastinal metastasis rate (80.2%) was significantly higher compared with the rate of supraclavicular metastasis and abdominal metastasis (P= 0.000). A significant difference was identified between right and left supraclavicular LN metastasis (31.7% vs 16.7%, P= 0.005). Furthermore, the difference between the metastatic rates in the upper (73.8%), middle (39.7%) and lower mediastinum (1.6%) was statistically significant (P=0.000). Nevertheless, no significant correlation between the rate of LN metastasis was observed in the supraclavicular, mediastinal and abdominal regions for upper, middle and lower thoracic carcinomas (P= 0.404, P= 0.718 and P= 0.169, respectively). Based on our data, LN metastasis is the major locoregional recurrence pattern for esophageal squamous cell cancer following radical surgery. The high-risk lymphatic drainage areas include the supraclavicular nodes, recurrent laryngeal nerve nodes, azygos nodes and subcarinal nodes.

Abstract
In term of four aspects, named "getting the familiarity", "turning to the positive action", "conquering the fear emotion" and "bringing the practice into play", the authors state that the teaching pattern, "training the techniques of acupuncture and moxibustion before introducing meridians and acupoints" can vividly introduce the classical content of meridians and acupoints in the Part One of Science of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, exclude the repeatability of the content and improve the teaching quality. This teaching pattern enables the students mastering the techniques of acupuncture and moxibustion before the practice and laying a good foundation for learning meridians and acupoints. The authors put forward the good suggestion of the teaching course arrangement of Science of Acupuncture and Moxibustion to benefit the teaching reform.

Abstract
Ma bamboo (Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro) belongs to Dendrocalamus genus, Bambusease tribe, Bambusoideae subfamily, Poaceae family. It is a representative species of clumping bamboo, and a principal commercial species for various construction purposes using mature culms and for human consumption using young shoots. A normalized cDNA library was constructed from young leaves of Ma bamboo and 9,574 high-quality ESTs were generated, from which 5,317 unigenes including 1,502 contigs and 3,815 singletons were assembled. The unigenes were assigned into different gene ontology (GO) categories and summarized into 13 broad biologically functional groups according to similar functional characteristics or cellular roles by BLAST search against public databases. Eight hundred and ninety-one unigenes were assigned by KO identifiers and mapped to six KEGG biochemical pathways. The transcripts involved in biosynthesis of secondary metabolites such as cytochrome 450, flavonol synthase/flavanone 3-hydroxylase, and dihydroflavonol-4-reductase were well represented by 14 unigenes in the unigene set. The candidate genes involved in phytohormone metabolism, signal transduction and encoding cell wall-associated receptor kinases were also identified. Sixty-seven unigenes related to plant resistance (R) genes, including RPP genes, RGAs and RDL/RF genes, were discovered. These results will provide genome-wide knowledge about the molecular physiology of Ma bamboo young leaves and tools for advanced studies of molecular mechanism underlying leaf growth and development.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To construct a recombinant lentiviral vector for manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) gene expression, and observe its effect on the proliferation of esophageal cancer cells in vitro. METHODS Chemical methods were employed for synthesis of the MnSOD cDNA sequence sections, along with the attB sites. Target gene fragment was constructed on the pMD-18T vector, and the recombinant plasmid pDONR221 was obtained after BP recombination reaction. Sequencing was followed by LR recombination reaction between the plasmid and DEST to obtain the lentiviral vector, which worked with helper plasmid for co-transfection of human embryonic kidney epithelial cells (293T cells). Amplification was done to determine its titer, and both transfection and selection procedures were made to get two stable transfected esophageal cancer TE-1 cell lines with medium MnSOD expression (TE-1Mm cells) and high MnSOD expression (TE-1Mh cell), and empty vector cell (TE-1Mn cells). Reverse transcription polymerase chine reaction (RT-PCR), immunofluorescence, immunocytochemistry and Western blot were used to detect the target gene with respect to its expression in the TE-1 cells. Additionally, colorimetric 3-[4,5-dimethy thiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, agar colony formation assay, annexin V-FITC/PI staining and flow cytometry experiments were also conducted as to observe the influence of the medium and high MnSOD overexpressions on the proliferation of esophageal cancer cells. RESULTS RT-PCR indicated that the transfected TE-1 cells showed positive MnSOD expression at different levels. Immunofluorescence, immunocytochemistry and Western blot suggested that TE-1Mm cells and TE-1Mh cells had MnSOD protein expression at different levels. MTT assay indicated that TE-1Mm cells had a significantly decreased survival rate compared with that of the two control cells (TE-1 cells and TE-1Mn cells), and TE-1 Mh cells had an significantly increased survival rate (P<0.05). The colony formation ability of TE-1Mm cells was (23.0 +/- 2.7)%, and that of TE-1Mh cells was (45.3 +/- 4.5)%, significantly different form the (34.7 +/- 4.2)% in TE-1 cells and (33.7 +/- 4.7)% in TE-1Mn cells (P<0.05). Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining experiment of the stably transfected cells cultured for 48 h showed that the early apoptosis rate in TE-1Mm cells was (10.6 +/- 1.0)%, significantly higher than (2.6 +/- 0.2)% in the TE-1 cells, (2.5 +/- 0.6)% in the empty vector cells and (1.0 +/- 0.1)% in the TE-1Mh cels (P<0.05). The fluorescence index (FI) of mitochondrial apoptosis of TE-1Mm cells was 0.948 +/- 0.019, significantly lower than that of TE-1 cell (1.000 +/- 0.022) and empty vector The fluorescence index of TE-1Mn cells (0.997 +/- 0.023) and TE-1 cells (1.000 +/- 0.022) were significant different from that of 0.948 +/- 0.019 in TE-1Mm cells and 1.076 +/- 0.022 in TE-1Mh cells, indicating a significant difference of mitochondrial apoptosis between the cell groups. FCM results indicated that the ROS fluorescence index of TE-1Mm cells was 0.859 +/- 0.040, that of TE-1Mh cells was 0.763 +/- 0.039, significantly lower than that of TE-1 cells (1.000 +/- 0. 042) and empty vector cells (1.002 +/- 0.047) (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Stably transfected cell lines with MnSOD expression have been successfully established. MnSOD overexpression shows bidirectional effect on the proliferation of esophageal cancer cells.
