Abstract
Given the unstoppable forces behind regional economic integration trends, damages from a flood disaster in a specific area will influence correlative cities through industrial linkages and make economic systems more vulnerable. Assessing urban vulnerability is an essential part of flood prevention and mitigation, and also a hot topic of recent research. Therefore, this study (1) constructed a mixed multiregional input-output (mixed-MRIO) model to explore ripple effects on other regions and sectors when production in a flooded area is constrained, and (2) applied this model to characterize the economic vulnerability of cities and sectors in Hubei Province, China by simulation. First, various hypothetical flood disaster scenarios are simulated to reveal the ripple effects of different events. The composite vulnerability is assessed by analyzing economic-loss sensitivity rankings across scenarios. Then, the model is applied to the case of a 50-year return period flood that occurred in Enshi City, Hubei Province, on July 17, 2020 to empirically verify the usefulness of such a simulation-based approach in evaluating vulnerability. The results indicate vulnerability is higher in Wuhan City, Yichang City, and Xiangyang City and for three manufacturing sector types: livelihood-related manufacturing, raw materials manufacturing, and processing and assembly manufacturing. Such cities and industrial sectors with high vulnerability will significantly benefit from prioritization in flood management.

Abstract
Designing a facile strategy to prepare catalysts with highly active sites are challenging for large-scale implementation of electrochemical hydrogen production. Herein, a straightforward and eco-friendly method by high-energy mechanochemical ball milling for mass production of atomic Ru dispersive in defective MoS2 catalysts (Ru1 @D-MoS2 ) is developed. It is found that single atomic Ru doping induces the generation of S vacancies, which can break the electronic neutrality around Ru atoms, leading to an asymmetrical distribution of electrons. It is also demonstrated that the Ru1 @D-MoS2 exhibits superb alkaline hydrogen evolution enhancement, possibly attributing to this electronic asymmetry. The overpotential required to deliver a current density of 10 mA cm-2 is as low as 107 mV, which is much lower than that of commercial MoS2 (C-MoS2 , 364 mV). Further density functional theory (DFT) calculations also support that the vacancy-coupled single Ru enables much higher electronic distribution asymmetry degree, which could regulate the adsorption energy of intermediates, favoring the water dissociation and the adsorption/desorption of H*. Besides, the long-term stability test under 500 mA cm-2 further confirms the robust performance of Ru1 @D-MoS2 . Our strategy provides a promising and practical way towards large-scale preparation of advanced HER catalysts for commercial applications.

Abstract
Eukaryotic expression systems are frequently employed for the production of recombinant proteins as therapeutics as well as research tools. Among which mammalian cell protein expression approach is the most powerful one, which can express complex proteins or genetic engineered biological drugs, such as PD-1. However, the high expense, which partially derives from its low protein yielding efficiency, limited the further application of such approach in large scale production of target proteins. To address this issue, we proposed a novel technique to promote the protein production efficiency of mammal cells without using conventional genetic engineered approaches. By placing 293T cells in a hydrogel 3D cell culture platform and adjusting the stress relaxation of the matrix hydrogel, cells formed multicellular spheroids by self-organization. In particular, the multicellular spheroids have a significantly enhanced ability to transiently express multiple proteins (SHH-N, PD-1 and PDL-1). We also examined in detail the mechanism underlying this phenomenon, and found that the reorganization of cytoskeleton during spheroids formation enhances the translation process of protein by recruiting ribosomes. Overall, this finding provides a novel approach for subsequent improvement of large-scale mammalian protein expression cell systems.

Abstract
Objectives: To study the association between metals mixture exposure and DNA oxidative damage using mixture analysis methods, and to explore the most significant exposure factors that cause DNA oxidative damage. Methods: Workers from steel enterprises were recruited in Shandong Province. Urinary metals were measured by using the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry method. The level of urinary 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) was determined by using the ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method. Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR), elastic net regression and quantile g-computation regression were used to analyze the association between urinary metals and urinary 8-OHdG. Results: A total of 768 subjects aged (36.15±7.40) years old were included in the study. BKMR, elastic net regression and quantile g-computation all revealed an overall positive association between the mixture concentration and increased urinary 8-OHdG. The quantile g-computation results showed that with a 25% increase in metal mixtures, the urinary 8-OHdG level increased by 77.60%. The elastic net regression showed that with a 25% increase in exposure risk score, the urinary 8-OHdG level increased by 26%. The BKMR summarized the contribution of individual exposures to the response, and selenium, zinc, and nickel were significant contributors to the urinary 8-OHdG elevation. Conclusion: Exposure to mixed metals causes elevated levels of DNA oxidative damage, and selenium, zinc, and nickel are significant exposure factors.

Abstract
The relative natural abundance of potassium and potentially high energy density has established potassium-ion batteries as a promising technology for future large-scale global energy storage. However, the anodes' low capacity and high discharge platform lead to low energy density, which impedes their rapid development. Herein, we present a possible co-activation mechanism between bismuth (Bi) and tin (Sn) that enhances K-ion storage in battery anodes. The co-activated Bi-Sn anode delivered a high capacity of 634 mAh g-1, with a discharge plateau as low as 0.35 V, and operated continuously for 500 cycles at a current density of 50 mA g-1, with a high Coulombic efficiency of 99.2%. This possible co-activation strategy for high potassium storage may be extended to other Na/Zn/Ca/Mg/Al ion battery technologies, thus providing insights into how to improve their energy storage ability.

Abstract
Objective: To retrospectively investigate the clinical data, radiological characteristics, treatment, and outcome of patients with parenchymal neuro-Behcet's disease (P-NBD) with particular emphasis on dizziness. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of clinical data from 25 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of P-NBD who were admitted to the Department of Neurology of the First Medical Center of Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital between 2010 and 2022. The median age of the population was 37 years (range: 17-85 years). Clinical data were retrospectively analyzed, including gender, age of onset, disease duration, clinical manifestations, serum immune indicators, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) routine biochemical and cytokine levels, cranial and spinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings, treatment, and outcome. Results: The majority of patients were male (16 cases; 64.0%), the mean age of onset was (28±14) (range: 4-58 years), and the disease course was acute or subacute. Fever was the most common clinical presentation, and the complaint of dizziness was not uncommon (8/25 patients). Analysis of serum immune indices, including complement (C3 and C4), erythrocyte sedimentation rate, interleukin-1 (IL-1), IL-6, IL-8 and tumor necrotic factor-alpha were abnormal in 80.0% of patients (20/25). Most of the 16/25 patients who underwent lumbar puncture tests had normal intracranial pressure and increased CSF white cell count and protein [median values were 44 (15-380) ×106/L and 0.73 (0.49-2.81) g/L, respectively]. Of the five patients who underwent CSF cytokine tests, four patients had abnormal results; of these, an elevated level of IL-6 was most common, followed by IL-1 and IL-8. The most common site of involvement in cranial MRI was the brainstem and basal ganglia (60.0% respectively), followed by white matter (48.0%) and the cortex (44.0%). Nine cases (36.0%) showed lesions with enhancement and six cases (24.0%) showed mass-like lesions. Three patients (12.0%) patients had lesions in the spinal cord, most frequently in the thoracic cord. All patients received immunological intervention therapy; during follow up, the majority had a favorable outcome. Conclusions: P-NBD is an autoimmune disease with multiple system involvement and diverse clinical manifestations. The symptom of dizziness is not uncommon and can be easily ignored. Early treatment with immunotherapy is important and can improve the outcome of these patients.

Abstract
Sanborn Fire Insurance maps contain a wealth of building-level information about U.S. cities dating back to the late 19th century. They are a valuable resource for studying changes in urban environments, such as the legacy of urban highway construction and urban renewal in the 20th century. However, it is a challenge to automatically extract the building-level information effectively and efficiently from Sanborn maps because of the large number of map entities and the lack of appropriate computational methods to detect these entities. This paper contributes to a scalable workflow that utilizes machine learning to identify building footprints and associated properties on Sanborn maps. This information can be effectively applied to create 3D visualization of historic urban neighborhoods and inform urban changes. We demonstrate our methods using Sanborn maps for two neighborhoods in Columbus, Ohio, USA that were bisected by highway construction in the 1960s. Quantitative and visual analysis of the results suggest high accuracy of the extracted building-level information, with an F-1 score of 0.9 for building footprints and construction materials, and over 0.7 for building utilizations and numbers of stories. We also illustrate how to visualize pre-highway neighborhoods.

Abstract
Malignant melanoma (MM) is characterized by rapid growth, frequent metastasis, and high mortality. Targeted therapy for MM is still a research hotspot due to the increasing understanding of the hippo pathway. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) in MM tumorigenesis. Based on the database analysis, we found that the median mRNA expression of TAZ (5.4) was found to be similar to that of YAP (5.5) in 473 human melanoma specimens. However, in 63 MM cell lines, the median expression of TAZ (10.8) was expressed at a higher level than that of YAP (9.5), which was then validated in A375. TAZ down-regulation by siRNA decreased the migration (72%) and invasion (74%) abilities of A375. Furthermore, the down-regulation of TAZ inhibited the proliferation of A375 without affecting apoptosis. We subsequently blocked hippo signaling with verteporfin and found that verteporfin application decreased the number of migrating (63%) and invading (69%) cells, respectively. We further found that Cyr61 declined following TAZ down-regulation. Moreover, TAZ negatively correlates with melanoma patient's overall survival. Our data proved that TAZ contributed to MM metastasis, which might be a potential therapeutic target in the future.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze and compare the efficacy and safety of pingyangmycin fibrin glue composite (PFG) and pingyangmycin dexamethasone composite (PD) in the treatment of pharyngolaryngeal venous malformation (VM). Methods: The clinical data of 98 patients with pharyngolaryngeal VM who underwent sclerotherapy with pingyangmycin composite in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from June 2013 to November 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to their treatment, patients were divided into PFG group (n=34) and PD group (n=64), among those patients there were 54 males and 44 females, aged 1-77(37.06±18.86)years. The lesion size, total treatment times and adverse events were recorded before and after treatment. And the efficacy was divided into three grades: recovery, effective and invalid. According to the length of VM, all patients were divided into three subgroups, to compare the differences in efficacy and treatment times between each two groups.And finally the adverse events and their treatments were analyzed. SPSS 25.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: The efficacy of PFG group was 94.11%(32/34), the recovery rate was 85.29%(29/34).And the efficacy of PD group was 93.75%(60/64), the recovery rate was 64.06%(41/64). No serious adverse eventst occurred in subgroup comparison, there was no statistical difference between the two groups in efficacy and the times of treatments when the length was≤3 cm (Zefficacy=1.04, ttreatment times=2.18, P>0.05); when the length was 3-5 cm, there was no significant efficacy difference between the two groups(Zefficacy=1.17, P>0.05), but the treatment times of PFG were less (ttreatment times=4.87, P<0.01); when the length≥5 cm, efficacy of PFG was significantly better than PD (Zefficacy=2.94, P<0.01), and had fewer treatments times (ttreatment times=2.16, P<0.01). There were no serious adverse events in either group during treatment and follow-up. Conclusion: Both PFG and PD are safe and effective composite sclerotherapy agent for the treatment of laryngeal VM, but PFG has a higher cure rate and fewer treatment times for massive lesions.

Abstract
The molecular composition of organic aerosols in ambient PM2.5 was investigated in an urban area in the Guanzhong basin of northwest China during a severe regional haze episode in the winter of 2018/2019. Organic matter, accounting for 20-35% of PM2.5 mass concentration, was characterized using direct infusion and electrospray ionization coupled with high-resolution Orbitrap mass spectrometry. The number of organic molecular formula assignments was primarily dominated by organosulfur species (OrgS, including CHOS and CHONS) in negative ion mode. The number and peak signal intensity of OrgS distinctly increased during the severe haze episode. Organosulfates and nitrooxy-organosulfates constituted the majority number (72-94%) of OrgS over the entire period. Although the OrgS were mostly present in aliphatic molecular structures, an increase in the number of polycyclic aromatic OrgS on haze days revealed the enhanced contribution from anthropogenic sources. The number of OrgS strongly correlated with ambient relative humidity and the oxidation ratios of sulfur and nitrogen, suggesting the important roles of aqueous phase chemistry and atmospheric oxidation in the formation of OrgS. A thorough understanding of the significance of OrgS will be essential to assess and mitigate the adverse impacts of haze pollution.

Abstract
In recent years, rice seedling raising factories have gradually been promoted in China. The seedlings bred in the factory need to be selected manually and then transplanted to the field. Growth-related traits such as height and biomass are important indicators for quantifying the growth of rice seedlings. Nowadays, the development of image-based plant phenotyping has received increasing attention, however, there is still room for improvement in plant phenotyping methods to meet the demand for rapid, robust and low-cost extraction of phenotypic measurements from images in environmentally-controlled plant factories. In this study, a method based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and digital images was applied to estimate the growth of rice seedlings in a controlled environment. Specifically, an end-to-end framework consisting of hybrid CNNs took color images, scaling factor and image acquisition distance as input and directly predicted the shoot height (SH) and shoot fresh weight (SFW) after image segmentation. The results on the rice seedlings dataset collected by different optical sensors demonstrated that the proposed model outperformed compared random forest (RF) and regression CNN models (RCNN). The model achieved R2 values of 0.980 and 0.717, and normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) values of 2.64% and 17.23%, respectively. The hybrid CNNs method can learn the relationship between digital images and seedling growth traits, promising to provide a convenient and flexible estimation tool for the non-destructive monitoring of seedling growth in controlled environments.

Abstract
The Abel transform is often used to reconstruct plasma density profiles from O-Mode polarized reflectometry diagnostics. However, standard numerical trapezoidal evaluation of the Abel inversion integral can be computationally expensive for a large number of evaluation points, and an endpoint singularity exists on the upper-bound of the integral, which can result in an increased error. In this work, Chebyshev-Gauss quadrature is introduced as a new method to evaluate the Abel inversion integral for the problem of O-Mode plasma reflectometry. The method does not require numerical evaluation of an integral singularity and is shown to have similar accuracy compared to existing methods while being computationally efficient.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Autism spectrum disorder is a group of neurodevelopmental disorders. The disease's etiology is unclear, and there is no specific drug treatment for the core symptoms of autism spectrum disease. The study aims to explore effective intervention methods for children with autism spectrum disorders. MATERIALS AND METHODS This paper proposes a visual strategy intervention method for children with autism spectrum disorders. This method combines feature extraction and abnormal behavior detection and can use a visual cue strategy to integrate children into social groups. Firstly, the spatial-temporal feature fusion structure is added to extract behavioral features from children, and the spatial information contained in MotionNet is fused with temporal features. Optical Flow Feature (OFF) subnetwork is added to the optical flow extraction feature network. Each layer feature is input to the OFF subnet to extract the time feature further. Then, a behavior detection method based on the sequential pool is proposed. This method combines attention mechanism and clustering pool to effectively describe human behavior dynamics in the long, redundant video under complex background. Finally, feature extraction and behavior detection experiments are carried out on SDUFall, Weizmann, and HMDB51 data sets. RESULTS The model's accuracy is still slightly higher than others in that only the video Red-Green-Blue (RGB) frame is used as input. Compared with OFF, SDUFall can reach 88.64%, and HMDB51 can only reach 63.81%. In contrast, the proposed model can reach 72.09%, higher than others. The descriptor obtained the best result of 92.57%, which is 3.64%, 2.58%, and 1.73% higher than the other three comparison descriptors. The data show that the method presented here is effective and has advantages in detecting children's abnormal behavior. CONCLUSIONS This method and visual intervention for children with autism spectrum disorders can help them to overcome social barriers.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This work aimed to explore the therapeutic effect of micropump intravenous infusion of ambroxol hydrochloride (AH) on respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in premature infants. PATIENTS AND METHODS 56 premature infants from 28 to 34 weeks were recruited for analysis in this work. According to the treatment methods, they were randomly divided into two groups, with 28 patients in each group. Patients in the experimental group were given intravenous AH by micropump, while those in the control group inhaled atomized AH. The therapeutic effects were evaluated by comparing the data after treatment. RESULTS The results showed that the serum 8-iso-PGP2α level in the experimental group was 166.32 ± 49.52, which was substantially inferior to that in the control group (183.32 ± 52.54), p < 0.05. In the experimental group, PaO2, SaO2, and PaO2/FiO2 were 95.88 ± 12.82 mmHg, 95.86 ± 2.27%, and 346.81 ± 51.93 mmHg, respectively, after 7 days of treatment. Compared with the control group (88.21 ± 12.82 mmHg, 93.18 ± 3.13%, and 266.83 ± 48.09 mmHg), the difference was statistically significant, p < 0.05. The oxygen duration, respiratory distress relief time, and length of stay were 95.12 ± 12.53 h, 4.4 ± 0.6 d, and 19.84 ± 2.8 d, respectively, in the experimental group, while they were 145.92 ± 13.85 h, 6.9 ± 0.9 d, and 28.42 ± 3.7 d, respectively, in the control group, showing great differences (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Micropump infusion of AH in the treatment of premature RDS patients was more conducive to efficacy. It can alleviate the clinical symptoms of children with RDS, improve their blood gas indicators, relieve and repair the damage to alveolar epithelial cell lipids in children with RDS, and ultimately improve the therapeutic effect, which can be used for the clinical treatment of premature RDS.

Abstract
Mind wandering refers to task-unrelated thoughts that can interfere with ongoing tasks and could be sleep-driven across childhood. The present study investigated the mechanisms of the association between early adolescents' sleep and mind wandering with emotional symptoms and executive function as potential mediators. A total of 257 early adolescents (baseline aged 9-13 years old; 131 boys) completed the questionnaires consisting of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, mind wandering, depression and anxiety symptoms, and executive function. Cross-sectional and longitudinal data revealed a sequential mediation pathway of emotional symptoms and executive function in the association between sleep and mind wandering. The mediating effect of emotional symptoms in the link between sleep quality and mind wandering was significant among boys but not girls.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous studies have examined that a range of optimal serum P level during the implantation period was associated with optimal live birth rates. However, those results obtained with vaginal or intramuscular route of progesterone administration for luteal phase support (LPS) alone. Is there a relationship between the serum progesterone (P) on the day of frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) with the likelihood of a live birth (LB) in artificial cycles (AC) when using a combination of oral dydrogesterone and vaginal progesterone for LPS? METHODS This was a retrospective study of 3659 FET cycles with artificial endometrial preparation in a Chinese tertiary-care academic medical centre from January 2015 to February 2017. Endometrial preparation was performed using estradiol (E2) valerate (Fematon-red tablets) 8 mg/d beginning on day 3 of the cycle, followed by administration of P both orally (8 mg/d Fematon-yellow tablets) and vaginally (400 mg/d; Utrogestan). The primary endpoint was live birth rate (LBR). The association between the serum P level on the embryo transfer day and pregnancy outcomes was evaluated by univariable and multivariable logistic regression analysis. RESULTS The LBRs according to the serum P quartiles were as follows: Q1: 35.7%; Q2: 37.4%; Q3: 39.1% and Q4: 38.9%. Logistic regression analysis showed that the odds of a LB were not significantly different between the low (P < 7.9 ng/mL) and high (P ≥ 7.9 ng/mL) progesterone groups before or after adjustment (crude OR = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.76-1.04; adjusted OR = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.75-1.04). CONCLUSION The present study suggests that the serum P levels on the day of embryo transfer (ET) do not correlate with the likelihood of a LB in artificial cycles when using a combination of oral dydrogesterone and vaginal progesterone for luteal phase support.

Abstract
The origins of wound myofibroblasts and scar tissue remains unclear, but it is assumed to involve conversion of adipocytes into myofibroblasts. Here, we directly explore the potential plasticity of adipocytes and fibroblasts after skin injury. Using genetic lineage tracing and live imaging in explants and in wounded animals, we observe that injury induces a transient migratory state in adipocytes with vastly distinct cell migration patterns and behaviours from fibroblasts. Furthermore, migratory adipocytes, do not contribute to scar formation and remain non-fibrogenic in vitro, in vivo and upon transplantation into wounds in animals. Using single-cell and bulk transcriptomics we confirm that wound adipocytes do not convert into fibrogenic myofibroblasts. In summary, the injury-induced migratory adipocytes remain lineage-restricted and do not converge or reprogram into a fibrosing phenotype. These findings broadly impact basic and translational strategies in the regenerative medicine field, including clinical interventions for wound repair, diabetes, and fibrotic pathologies.

Abstract
Resistin has been shown to play a key role in inducing vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) malfunction in the atherosclerosis progression. Ginsenoside Rb1 is the main component of ginseng, which has been used for thousands of years and has been reported to have a powerful vascular protective effect. The aim of this study was to explore the protective effect of Rb1 on VSMCs dysfunction induced by resistin. In the presence or absence of Rb1, human coronary artery smooth muscle cells (HCASMC) were treated at different time points with or without 40 ng/ml resistin and acetylated low-density lipoprotein (acetylated LDL). Cell migration and proliferation were analyzed using wound healing test and CellTiter Aqueous Cell Proliferation Assay (MTS) test, respectively. Intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) (H2DCFDA as a dye probe) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities were measured by a microplate reader and the differences between groups were compared. Rb1 significantly reduced resistin-induced HCASMC proliferation. Resistin increased HCASMC migration time-dependently. At 20 µM, Rb1 could significantly reduce HCASMC migration. Resistin and Act-LDL increased ROS production to a similar level in HCASMCs, while Rb1 pretreated group reversed the effects of resistin and acetyl-LDL. Besides, the mitochondrial SOD activity was significantly reduced by resistin but was restored when pretreated with Rb1. We confirmed the protection of Rb1 on HCASMC and suggested that the mechanisms involved might be related to the reduction of ROS generation and increased activity of SOD. Our study clarified the potential clinical applications of Rb1 in the control of resistin-related vascular injury and in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Abstract
Our data previously revealed that chemosurviving cancer cells translate specific genes. Here, we find that the m6A-RNA-methyltransferase, METTL3, increases transiently in chemotherapy-treated breast cancer and leukemic cells in vitro and in vivo. Consistently, m6A increases on RNA from chemo-treated cells, and is needed for chemosurvival. This is regulated by eIF2α phosphorylation and mTOR inhibition upon therapy treatment. METTL3 mRNA purification reveals that eIF3 promotes METTL3 translation that is reduced by mutating a 5'UTR m6A-motif or depleting METTL3. METTL3 increase is transient after therapy treatment, as metabolic enzymes that control methylation and thus m6A levels on METTL3 RNA, are altered over time after therapy. Increased METTL3 reduces proliferation and anti-viral immune response genes, and enhances invasion genes, which promote tumor survival. Consistently, overriding phospho-eIF2α prevents METTL3 elevation, and reduces chemosurvival and immune-cell migration. These data reveal that therapy-induced stress signals transiently upregulate METTL3 translation, to alter gene expression for tumor survival.

Abstract
The temperature-dependent external quantum efficiency (EQE) droops of 265 nm, 275 nm, 280 nm, and 285 nm AlGaN-based ultraviolet-c light-emitting diodes (UVC-LEDs) differed in Al contents have been comprehensively investigated. The modified ABC model (R=An+Bn2+Cn3) with the current-leakage related term, f(n)=Dn4, has been employed to analyze the recombination mechanisms in these UVC-LED samples. Experimental results reveal that, at relatively low electrical-current levels, the contribution of Shockley-Read-Hall (SRH) recombination exceeds those of the Auger recombination and carrier leakage. At relatively high electrical-current levels, the Auger recombination and carrier leakage jointly dominate the EQE droop phenomenon. Moreover, the inactivation efficiencies of 222 nm excimer lamp, 254 nm portable mercury lamp, 265 nm, 280 nm, and 285 nm UVC-LED arrays in the inactivation of E. coli have been experimentally investigated, which could provide a technical reference for fighting against the new COVID-19.

Abstract
Postoperative delirium (POD) is a frequent and debilitating complication, especially amongst high risk procedures, such as orthopedic surgery. This kind of neurocognitive disorder negatively affects cognitive domains, such as memory, awareness, attention, and concentration after surgery; however, its pathophysiology remains unknown. Multiple lines of evidence supporting the occurrence of inflammatory events have come forward from studies in human patients' brain and bio-fluids (CSF and serum), as well as in animal models for POD. β-arrestins are downstream molecules of guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein)-coupled receptors (GPCRs). As versatile proteins, they regulate numerous pathophysiological processes of inflammatory diseases by scaffolding with inflammation-linked partners. Here we report that β-arrestin1, one type of β-arrestins, decreases significantly in the reactive astrocytes of a mouse model for POD. Using β-arrestin1 knockout (KO) mice, we find aggravating effect of β-arrestin1 deficiency on the cognitive dysfunctions and inflammatory phenotype of astrocytes in POD model mice. We conduct the in vitro experiments to investigate the regulatory roles of β-arrestin1 and demonstrate that β-arrestin1 in astrocytes interacts with the dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1) to regulate mitochondrial fusion/fission process. β-arrestin1 deletion cancels the combination of β-arrestin1 and cellular Drp1, thus promoting the translocation of Drp1 to mitochondrial membrane to provoke the mitochondrial fragments and the subsequent mitochondrial malfunctions. Using β-arrestin1-biased agonist, cognitive dysfunctions of POD mice and pathogenic activation of astrocytes in the POD-linked brain region are reduced. We, therefore, conclude that β-arrestin1 is a promising target for the understanding of POD pathology and development of POD therapeutics.

Abstract
Natural materials teach that mechanical dissipative interactions relieve the conflict between strength and toughness and enable fabrication of strong yet tough artificial materials. Replicating natural nacre structure has yielded rich biomimetic materials; however, stronger interlayer dissipation still waits to be exploited to extend the performance limits of artificial nacre materials. Here, we introduce strong entanglement as a new artificial interlayer dissipative mechanism and fabricate entangled nacre materials with superior strength and toughness, across molecular to nanoscale nacre structures. The entangled graphene nacre fibers achieved high strength of 1.2 GPa and toughness of 47 MJ/m3, and films reached 1.5 GPa and 25 MJ/m3. Experiments and simulations reveal that strong entanglement can effectively dissipate interlayer energy to relieve the conflict between strength and toughness, acting as natural folded proteins. The strong interlayer entanglement opens up a new path for designing stronger and tougher artificial materials to mimic but surpass natural materials.

Abstract
The lead halide perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) is making its way towards next-generation display applications, such as serving as color conversion layers (CCL) in micro-LED array. Red PQDs containing iodine exhibit weaker brightness compared with its green counterpart when it is employed as CCL. Therefore, PQDs with enhanced brightness is highly favorable for micro/mini-LED displays. We propose a universal strategy of bicomponent perovskite nano-composite (BPNC) with significantly enhanced PL intensity through the built-in Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) from the core CsPbBr3 to the shell γ-CsPbI3 , and confirm that it is through a pair of combined quasi-degenerate energy levels at blue spectra region that the FRET is conducted, resulting in a high excitation wavelength selectivity. Owing to the high-efficient energy transition route from blue excitation to red emission established by the FRET, the BPNC exhibits brightest single-peak red photoluminescence with near 100% quantum yield. The BPNC with FRET is further proven to be adaptable to a wide range of emission wavelength. We employed the BPNCs in a blue micro-LED array as color down-conversion layers and demonstrate excellent color conversion properties and high color gamut. Abstract
The intestinal mucosal barrier is one of the important barriers to prevent harmful substances and pathogens from entering the body environment and to maintain intestinal homeostasis. This study investigated the reparative effect and possible mechanism of Tetrastigma hemsleyanum polysaccharides (THP) on ceftriaxone-induced intestinal mucosal damage. Our results suggested that THP repaired the mechanical barrier damage of intestinal mucosa by enhancing the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins, reducing intestinal mucosal permeability and improving the pathological state of intestinal epithelial cells. Intestinal immune and chemical barrier was further restored by THP via the increment of the body's cytokine levels, intestinal SIgA levels, intestinal goblet cell number, intestinal mucin-2 levels, and short-chain fatty acid levels. In addition, THP increased the abundance of probiotic bacteria (such as Lactobacillus), reduced the abundance of harmful bacteria (such as Enterococcus) to repair the intestinal biological barrier, restored intestinal mucosal barrier function, and maintains intestinal homeostasis. The possible mechanisms were related to sphingolipid metabolism, linoleic acid metabolism, and d-glutamine and D-glutamate metabolism. Our results demonstrated the potential therapeutic effect of THP against intestinal flora disorders and intestinal barrier function impairment caused by antibiotics.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the initial safety and efficacy of femtosecond laser-assisted minimally invasive lamellar keratoplasty (FL-MILK) for advanced keratoconus. Methods: It was a case series study. Patients with advanced keratoconus who underwent FL-MILK between August 2017 and April 2020 at Shandong Eye Hospital were prospectively included. The femtosecond laser was used to create an intrastromal pocket in the recipient cornea and a lamellar cornea in the donor. The lamellar cornea was then gently inserted into the intrastromal pocket through the incision and flattened. Clinical measurements included best-corrected visual acuity, 3-mm anterior corneal mean keratometry, anterior and posterior central corneal elevation, central corneal thickness, corneal biomechanics, and endothelial cell density. The follow-up was conducted at 1 month, 12 months, and 24 months after the operation. Results: There were 33 patients (35 eyes) in the study. Twenty-six patients were male and 7 patients were female. The mean age was (20.34±5.24) years old. All patients completed 12 months of follow-up, and 25 patients (27 eyes) completed 24 months of follow-up. No epithelial ingrowth, infection, or allogeneic rejection was observed. Compared with the preoperative data, the anterior central corneal elevation significantly decreased (P<0.001), the mean keratometry significantly decreased (P<0.05), and the central corneal thickness significantly increased (P<0.001). The corneal biomechanical strength was significantly improved, with the deformation amplitude ratio at 2.0 mm decreasing from 1.39±0.14 preoperatively to 1.21±0.10 at 24 months postoperatively (P<0.001) and the stiffness parameter at the first applanation increasing from 41.49±11.47 preoperatively to 88.41±18.17 at 24 months postoperatively (P<0.001). There were no significant changes in the mean best-corrected visual acuity, posterior corneal elevation, mean spherical equivalent, and endothelial cell density (all P>0.05). Conclusions: FL-MILK may be a feasible option for advanced keratoconus. This procedure may provide a new resolution for keratoconus.

Abstract
Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) plays a vital role in prostate cancer diagnosis and management. With the increase in use of mpMRI, obtaining the best possible quality images has become a priority. The Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) was introduced to standardize and optimize patient preparation, scanning techniques, and interpretation. However, the quality of the MRI sequences depends not only on the hardware/software and scanning parameters, but also on patient-related factors. Common patient-related factors include bowel peristalsis, rectal distension, and patient motion. There is currently no consensus regarding the best approaches to address these issues and improve the quality of mpMRI. New evidence has been accrued since the release of PI-RADS, and this review aims to explore the key strategies which aim to improve prostate MRI quality, such as imaging techniques, patient preparation methods, the new Prostate Imaging Quality (PI-QUAL) criteria, and artificial intelligence on prostate MRI quality.

Abstract
Citrus melanose, caused by the ascomycete fungus Diaporthe citri, is one of the most important diseases in China that affects not only the production but also the quality of citrus. In China, mancozeb is recommended to control melanose disease at the dose of 1.34 g/liter. However, it is widely applied in practice at the dose of 2.66 g/liter or even 4 g/liter, because reduced efficacy of the recommended dose was observed in regions severely damaged by melanose. In this study, some ecofriendly chemicals for melanose management were evaluated. First, the sensitivity to fungicides was screened in the laboratory based on the inhibition of mycelial growth and conidial germination of D. citri. Results showed that both quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) fungicides kresoxim-methyl and trifloxystrobin inhibited conidial germination of D. citri up to 100% at 0.1 μg/ml. The in vivo control efficacy on detached fruit indicated that treatments with elastic nanocopolymer film at 2 g/liter, mancozeb at 1 g/liter, and kresoxim-methyl at 0.1 g/liter significantly inhibited the infection process compared with the control treatment of mineral oil alone. In field trials, the efficacy of kresoxim-methyl at 0.1 g/liter and elastic nanocopolymer film at 2 g/liter mixed with mancozeb at 1 g/liter was equal to that of mancozeb at 2.66 g/liter. The use of mancozeb could be reduced greatly, and the newly developed fungicide combinations are more environmentally friendly due to the low toxicity of both QoI fungicides and elastic nanocopolymer film. The newly developed method with ecofriendly chemicals should play an important role in the management of citrus melanose in the future.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of recombinant human B-type natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) on improving ventricular function in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). PATIENTS AND METHODS In this retrospective study, 96 patients with STEMI admitted to Cangzhou Central Hospital from June 2017 to June 2019 were recruited and randomized to either a control group or an experimental group, with 48 patients in each group. Patients in both groups were given conventional pharmacological therapy, and an emergency coronary intervention was performed within 12 hours. Patients in the experimental group received rhBNP intravenously postoperatively, whereas patients in the control group received an equal amount of 0.9% NaCl solution through an intravenous drip. Postoperative recovery indicators were compared between the two groups. RESULTS Patients treated with rhBNP showed better postoperative respiratory frequency, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, pleural effusion, acute left heart remodeling after surgery and central venous pressure at 1-3 days after surgery than those without (p<0.05). Early diastolic blood flow velocity/early diastolic motion velocity (E/Em) and wall-motion score indices (WMSI) of patients in the experimental group were markedly lower compared to the control group one week after surgery (p<0.05). Patients receiving rhBNP had better left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and WMSI six months after surgery and higher left ventricular end diastolic volume (LVEDV) and LVEF one week after surgery than the controls (p<0.05). Administration of rhBNP for patients with STMI provided a higher treatment safety by significantly reducing the incidence of left ventricular remodeling and complication than conventional medication (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Intervention with rhBNP in STEMI patients could effectively inhibit ventricular remodeling, alleviate symptoms, reduce adverse complications and improve ventricular function.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Timeliness of care is an important metric for lung cancer patients, and care delays in the safety-net setting have been described. Timeliness from the point of the suspicious image is not well-studied. Herein, we evaluate time intervals in the workup of lung cancer at an urban, safety net hospital and assess for disparities by demographic and clinical factors. PATIENTS AND METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of lung cancer patients receiving some portion of their care at Boston Medical Center between 2015 and 2020. A total of 687 patients were included in the final analysis. Median times from suspicious image to first treatment (SIT), suspicious image to diagnosis (SID), and diagnosis to treatment (DT) were calculated. Nonparametric tests were applied to assess for intergroup differences in time intervals. RESULTS SIT, SID, and DT for the entire cohort was 78, 34, and 32 days, respectively. SIT intervals were 87 days for females and 72 days for males (p < .01). SIT intervals were 106, 110, 81, and 41 days for stages I, II, III, and IV, respectively (p < .01). SID intervals differed between black (40.5) and Hispanic (45) patients compared to white (28) and Asian (23) patients (p < .05). CONCLUSION Advanced stage at presentation and male gender were associated with more timely treatment from the point of suspicious imaging while white and Asian were associated with more timely lung cancer diagnosis. Future analyses should seek to elucidate drivers of timeliness differences and assess for the impact of timeliness disparities on patient outcomes in the safety net setting.

Abstract
In theory, electrocatalysts in their metallic forms should be the most stable chemical state under cathodic potentials. It is known that the highly dispersed nanoparticle (NP) types of electrocatalysts often possess higher activity than their bulk counterparts. However, facilely and controllably fabricating well-dispersed nonprecious metal NPs with superior electrocatalytic activity, selectivity, and durability is highly challenging. Here, we report a facile reductive pyrolysis approach to controllably synthesize NiCo alloy NPs confined on the tip of N-doped carbon nanotubes (N-CNTs) from a bimetal-MOF precursor. The electrocatalytic performance of the resultant NiCo@N-CNTs are evaluated by a wide spectrum of nitroarene reductive coupling reactions to produce azoxy-benzenes, a class of precious chemicals for textile, food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. The superior electrocatalytic stability, full conversion of nitroarenes, >99% selectivities, and >97% faradic efficiencies toward the targeted azoxy-benzene products are readily attainable by NiCo@N-CNTs, attributable to the alloying-induced synergetic effect. The presence of a CNT confinement effect in NiCo@N-CNTs induces high stability. This added to the metallic states of NiCo empowers NiCo@N-CNTs with excellent electrochemical stability under reductive reaction conditions. In an effort to enhance the energy utilization efficiency, we construct a NiCo@N-CNTs||Ni(OH)2/NF two-electrode electrolyzer to simultaneously reduce nitrobenzene at the cathode and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural with >99% yields for both azoxy-benzene and 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid.

Abstract
1. Two experiments were conducted to determine the coefficients of standardised ileal amino acid digestibility for selected high-fibre feedstuffs (Expt.1) and to assess the additivity of coefficients of apparent (cAIAAD) and standardised (cSIAAD) ileal amino acid digestibility for diets containing combinations of sorghum, maize and soybean meal.2. In Expt. 1, broiler chickens (324) were allocated to 54 metabolism cages (nine diets with six replicates). In Expt. 2, broiler chickens (315) were allocated to 63 metabolism cages (seven diets with nine replicates). The diets in Expt. 1 were a nitrogen-free diet plus eight semi-purified diets in which soybean meal (SBM), low-protein SBM (LPSBM), soybean hull, wheat bran, maize bran, rice bran, dried sugarbeet pulp or maize gluten feed were the only sources of protein in the respective diets. In Expt. 2, the seven diets were a nitrogen-free diet, and six semi-purified diets consisting of individual feedstuffs (SBM, maize, or sorghum) or combinations (maize and SBM; sorghum and SBM; or maize, sorghum, and SBM) as the only sources of protein.3. In both experiments, all the broiler chickens received the same maize-SBM diet formulated to meet nutrient requirements according to the breeder's recommendations from d 0 to 16. Allocated experimental diets were provided on d 16, and ileal digesta were collected on d 21.4. In Expt. 1, SBM and LPSBM had greater (P < 0.01) cSIAAD for indispensable and dispensable amino acids than the other feedstuffs. The rice bran had greater (P<0.01) cSIAAD values than wheat bran and maize bran, except for Leu, Cys, and Pro.5. In Expt. 2, predicted cAIAAD values for maize-SBM and maize-sorghum-SBM were generally lower (P<0.01) than actual values. The actual and predicted cSIAAD values for maize-SBM, sorghum-SBM and maize-sorghum-SBM combinations were not significantly different.6. It was concluded that the standardised amino acid digestibility of sorghum, when combined with other feedstuffs, was additive and that approximately three-quarters of total amino acids in the assayed high-fibre feedstuffs, except for dried sugarbeet pulp and maize gluten feed, were digestible.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the value of lymphatic contrast-enhanced ultrasound (LCEUS) with intra-glandular injection of contrast agent for diagnosis of central compartment lymph node metastasis of thyroid cancer. METHODS From November, 2020 to May, 2022, the patients suspected of having thyroid cancer and scheduled for biopsy at our center received both conventional ultrasound and LCEUS examinations of the central compartment lymph nodes before surgery. All the patients underwent surgical dissection of the lymph nodes. The perfusion features in LCEUS were classified as homogeneous enhancement, heterogeneous enhancement, regular/irregular ring, and non-enhancement. With pathological results as the gold standard, we compared the diagnostic ability of conventional ultrasound and LCEUS for identifying metastasis in the central compartment lymph nodes. RESULTS Forty-nine patients with 60 lymph nodes were included in the final analysis. Pathological examination reported metastasis in 34 of the lymph nodes, and 26 were benign lymph nodes. With ultrasound findings of heterogeneous enhancement, irregular ring and non-enhancement as the criteria for malignant lesions, LCEUS had a diagnostic sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of 97.06%, 92.31% and 95% for diagnosing metastatic lymph nodes, respectively, demonstrating its better performance than conventional ultrasound (P < 0.001). Receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis showed that LCEUS had a significantly greater area under the curve than conventional ultrasound for diagnosing metastatic lymph nodes (94.7% [0.856-0.988] vs 78.2% [0.656-0.878], P=0.003). CONCLUSION LCEUS can enhance the display and improve the diagnostic accuracy of the central compartment lymph nodes to provide important clinical evidence for making clinical decisions on treatment of thyroid cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To compare the 6-month changes in aberration and biomechanics after femtosecond laser-assisted laser in situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK) for high astigmatism. METHODS In this retrospective case control study, 47 eyes with high astigmatism (≥ 2.5 D, HA group) and 47 eyes with low astigmatism (≤ 1.0 D, LA group) underwent FS-LASIK. Preoperative and follow-up examinations included visual outcomes, higher order aberrations (HOAs) and biomechanics. Biomechanical parameters include a deformation amplitude ratio of 2 mm (DA ratio 2 mm), integrated inverse radius (IIR), stiffness parameter at first applanation (SP-A1), and ambrosio relational thickness through the horizontal meridian (ARTh). RESULTS Six months postoperatively, there was no significant difference in the efficacy and safety index (both P > 0.05) between the two groups, but the cylinder was higher in the HA group. The HOAs increased significantly after surgery in both groups (all P < 0.05). Six months postoperatively, the changes in spherical aberration and HOAs were larger in the HA group (both P < 0.005), but there was no significant difference between the changes in coma (P > 0.05). Significant decreases in SP-A1 and ARTh and significant increases in the IIR and DA ratio of 2 mm (all P < 0.05) were observed after surgery in both groups. The changes in the DA ratio 2 mm, IIR, SP-A1, and ARTh were not significantly different between the groups. CONCLUSION FS-LASIK had relative comparable efficacy and safety in correcting high and low myopic astigmatism, with higher astigmatic under-correction in eyes with high astigmatism. High astigmatism in eyes after FS-LASIK could introduce larger corneal aberrations, but the impact on corneal stiffness was the same as that in eyes with low astigmatism.

Abstract
Curved ultrathin PtPd nanodendrites (CNDs) with long-range compressive strain and highly branched feature are first prepared by a functional surfactant-induced strategy. Precise synthesis realized the construction of both curved and flat PtPd nanodendrites (NDs) with the same atomic ratio, which contributed to exploration of the strain effect on electrocatalytic performance alone. Abundant evidence is provided to confirm that the long-range compressive strain in curved PtPd architectures can effectively tailor the local coordination environment of active sites, lower the position of the d-band center, weaken the adsorption energy of the intermediates (e.g., H* and CO*), and ultimately increase their intrinsic activity. The density functional theory (DFT) calculations further reveal that the introduction of compressive strain weakens the Gibbs free-energy of the intermediate (ΔGH*), which is favorable for accelerating the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) kinetics. A similar enhanced electrocatalytic performance can also be found in the methanol oxidation reaction (MOR).

Abstract
The Hippo signalling pathway is dysregulated across a wide range of cancer types and, although driver mutations that directly affect the core Hippo components are rare, a handful is found within pleural mesothelioma (PM). PM is a deadly disease of the lining of the lung caused by asbestos exposure. By pooling the largest-scale clinical datasets publicly available, we here interrogate associations between the most prevalent driver mutations within PM and Hippo pathway disruption in patients, while assessing correlations with a variety of clinical markers. This analysis reveals a consistent worse outcome in patients exhibiting transcriptional markers of YAP/TAZ activation, pointing to the potential of leveraging Hippo pathway transcriptional activation status as a metric by which patients may be meaningfully stratified. Preclinical models recapitulating disease are transformative in order to develop new therapeutic strategies. We here establish an isogenic cell-line model of PM, which represents the most frequently mutated genes and which faithfully recapitulates the molecular features of clinical PM. This preclinical model is developed to probe the molecular basis by which the Hippo pathway and key driver mutations affect cancer initiation and progression. Implementing this approach, we reveal the role of NF2 as a mechanosensory component of the Hippo pathway in mesothelial cells. Cellular NF2 loss upon physiological stiffnesses analogous to the tumour niche drive YAP/TAZ-dependent anchorage-independent growth. Consequently, the development and characterisation of this cellular model provide a unique resource to obtain molecular insights into the disease and progress new drug discovery programs together with future stratification of PM patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Polyacrylamide hydrogel has been prohibited since 2006 due to numerous complications. Unsatisfactory breast contour was always observed in patients after PAAG removal. The same occurred in patients after silicone prosthesis removal. We attempt to compare and analyze the difference in postoperative breast conditions and pathology between the two groups. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the data of patients who underwent PAAG or silicone prosthesis removal between 2011 and 2021. The BREAST-Q was used to evaluate the follow-up results, including satisfaction with breasts, physical well-being, psychosocial well-being, sexual well-being, and the operation. RESULTS A total of 63 patients were analyzed. The PAAG group complained of more lumps or indurations (p = 0.004), benefited less from operations as for symptomatic relief (p = 0.002), and had more chronic inflammation(p = 0.000) than the silicone group. No breast cancer was found. All the Breast-Q scores were lower in the PAAG group than in the silicone group, and there was a significant difference in satisfaction with physical well-being (p = 0.035). Besides, patients without symptoms tended to score higher in all aspects of Breast-Q than patients with symptoms after removal. The two groups (symptom & no symptom) differed in psychosocial well-being (p = 0.043) and satisfaction with operation (p = 0.048). CONCLUSIONS The breast contour of patients after PAAG or silicone prosthesis removal was worse than before. Early removal of PAAG before complications arise may result in a better surgical benefit. There is no doubt that PAAG are harmful both physically and psychologically. All patients are suggested to have PAAG injections removed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability and mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Risk models have been developed for predicting stroke and stroke-associated mortality among patients with T2DM. Here, we evaluated risk factors of stroke for individualized prevention measures in patients with T2DM in northern China. METHODS In the community-based Tianjin Chronic Disease Cohort study, 58,042 patients were enrolled between January 2014 and December 2019. We used multiple imputation (MI) to impute missing variables and univariate and multivariate Cox's proportional hazard regression to screen risk factors of stroke. Furthermore, we established and validated first-ever prediction models for stroke (Model 1 and Model 2) and death from stroke (Model 3) and evaluated their performance. RESULTS In the derivation and validation groups, the area under the curves (AUCs) of Models 1-3 was better at 5 years than at 8 years. The Harrell's C-index for all models was above 0.7. All models had good calibration, discrimination, and clinical net benefit. Sensitivity analysis using the MI dataset indicated that all models had good and stable prediction performance. CONCLUSION In this study, we developed and validated first-ever risk prediction models for stroke and death from stroke in patients with T2DM, with good discrimination and calibration observed in all models. Based on lifestyle, demographic characteristics, and laboratory examination, these models could provide multidimensional management and individualized risk assessment. However, the models developed here may only be applicable to Han Chinese.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to report the long-term outcomes of proximal thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) for chronic Stanford type B aortic dissection (cTBAD). METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 48 cases of patients with cTBAD who underwent proximal TEVAR in Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University from January 2010 to September 2013. The preoperative and postoperative imaging examinations, overall survival rate, aortic-related survival rate, and freedom from reintervention rate data were collected to evaluate aortic remodeling and clinical outcomes. The enrolled patients received follow-up at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months following treatment and annually thereafter. RESULTS A total of 48 patients (mean age, 58.3 ± 10.6 years; men:women, 40:8) were included, of which 38 cases (79.2%) were uncomplicated dissection and 10 cases (20.8%) were complicated. The mean follow-up time was 48.7 ± 40 months (1-120 months). The mean time interval from the initial procedure to reintervention was 50.6 ± 32.7 months (11-98 months). The following changes were observed at preoperative versus last follow-up timepoints. Descending aortic level: true lumen, 19.2 ± 7.01 mm vs. 36.9 ± 9.53 mm (p < 0.001); false lumen, 30.47 ± 15.89 mm vs. 19.16 ± 15.33 mm (p < 0.001); maximum diameter, 49.67 ± 13.96 mm vs. 56.66 ± 14.95 mm (p = 0.018). Diaphragm level: true lumen, 16.24 ± 5.41 mm vs. 24.41 ± 8.04 mm (p < 0.001); false lumen, 12.37 ± 11.49 mm vs. 14.92 ± 12.25 mm (p = 0.196); and maximum diameter, 34 ± 7.81 mm vs. 38.04 ± 7.7 mm (p < 0.001). The freedom from reintervention rate was 81% in 5 years and 50.6% in 10 years. The overall 10-years survival rate was 83% (6 of 48), and the aortic-related survival rate was 92.3% (3 of 48). CONCLUSIONS TEVAR is a safe and effective proximal repair intervention for cTBAD that can reliably induce the positive remodeling of the descending aorta.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) has been reported to be a major cause of low back pain (LBP). Interleukin (IL)-37 is an anti-inflammatory cytokine of the interleukin-1 family, which exerts salutary physiological effects. In this study, we assessed the protective effect of IL-37 on IDD progression and its underlying mechanisms. METHODS Immunofluorescence (IF) was conducted to measure IL-37 expression in nucleus pulposus tissues. CCK-8 assay and Edu staining were used to examine the vitality of IL-37-treated nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs). Western blot, qPCR, ELISA as well as immunohistochemistry were used to assess senescence associated secreted phenotype (SASP) factors expression; and NF-κB pathway was evaluated by western blot and IF; while IL-1R8 knock-down by siRNAs was performed to ascertain its significance in the senescence phenotype modulated by IL-37. The therapeutic effect of IL-37 on IDD were evaluated in puncture-induced rat model using X-ray, Hematoxylin-Eosin, Safranin O-Fast Green (SO), and alcian blue staining. RESULTS We found IL-37 expression decreased in the IDD process. In vitro, IL-37 suppressed SASP factors level and senescence phenotype in IL-1β treated NPCs. In vivo, IL-37 alleviated the IDD progression in the puncture-induced rat model. Mechanistic studies demonstrated that IL-37 inhibited IDD progression by downregulating NF-κB pathway activation in NPCs by activating IL-1R8. CONCLUSION The present study suggests that IL-37 delays the IDD development through the IL-1R8/NF-κB pathway, which suggests IL-37 as a promising novel target for IDD therapy.

Abstract
MOTS-c is a peptide encoded by the short open reading frame of the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene. It is significantly expressed in response to stress or exercise and translocated to the nucleus, where it regulates the expression of stress adaptation-related genes with antioxidant response elements (ARE). MOTS-c mainly acts through the Folate-AICAR-AMPK pathway, thereby influencing energy metabolism, insulin resistance, inflammatory response, exercise, aging and aging-related pathologies. Because of the potential role of MOTS-c in maintaining energy and stress homeostasis to promote healthy aging, especially in view of the increasing aging of the global population, it is highly pertinent to summarize the relevant studies. This review summarizes the retrograde signaling of MOTS-c toward the nucleus, the regulation of energy metabolism, stress homeostasis, and aging-related pathological processes, as well as the underlying molecular mechanisms.

Abstract
A 50-year-old female patient, presenting with a past history of Reynaud's syndrome, xerostomia and xerophthalmia, was admitted to Fujian Provincial Hospital because of coughing for 10 days and left anterior chest pain for 1 day. Chest imaging showed multiple nodules and masses, and diffuse cystic lesions in both lungs. Based on the differential diagnosis of multiple pulmonary masses and diffuse cystic lesions respectively, autoantibodies, radionuclide dynamic imaging of the parotid, positron emission tomography-CT, CT-guided percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsy, and other examinations were performed. The diagnosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma stage ⅣA (lung, parotid gland) and Sjögren's syndrome was confirmed. By analyzing the imaging features and pathogenesis in detail, the diffuse cystic lesions of both lungs were considered to be related to lymphocytic interstitial pneumonia caused by Sjögren's syndrome. The pulmonary space-occupying lesions in the lungs were significantly absorbed after RCHOP regimen for lymphoma.
