Abstract
BACKGROUND Adolescents and young adults (AYAs; ages 15-29 years) diagnosed with cancer are increasingly recognized as an oncology population with distinct psychosocial needs. However, few specialized psychosocial interventions for AYAs currently exist. This study reports on the development of a novel group-based psychotherapy intervention to address the psychosocial needs of AYAs. The objective was to evaluate the acceptability, feasibility, and preliminary effects of the intervention. METHODS The manualized group psychotherapy program is delivered virtually over an 8-week period by registered psychologists. Four groups (n = 5-11 AYAs per group) with a total of N = 33 participants (Mage = 20.97 years, SD = 3.68, range = 15-29 years, 76% women) were conducted. Recruitment and retention data assessed intervention feasibility. Patient-reported psychosocial outcomes were measured at baseline and immediately following the intervention to assess preliminary effects. Acceptability was assessed following the intervention using a self-report measure of participant satisfaction. RESULTS Overall, the completion rate of the intervention was 85% (n = 28). All participants "strongly agreed" (88%) or "agreed" (13%) that they were satisfied with the group. Meeting, sharing experiences, and expressing feelings with other AYAs were identified as the most helpful aspects. Participants reported significant improvements in emotional (p < 0.05) and functional (p < 0.01) quality of life from baseline to immediately post-intervention with medium effect sizes (d = 0.58-0.70). CONCLUSIONS Findings suggest that the intervention is feasible, acceptable, and shows promise for improving psychosocial outcomes for AYAs. Further research will refine the intervention and establish efficacy in a randomized trial.

Abstract
Neoplasms are composed of malignant tumor cells, which are surrounded by other non-tumor cellular elements, in what has been defined as the microenvironment or tumor stroma. Evidence on the importance of the tumor microenvironment has not stopped growing in recent years. It plays a central role in cell proliferation, tissue invasion, angiogenesis and cell migration. The paradigm is the family of new FAPI radiopharmaceuticals that show the density of the fibroblast activation protein (FAP) which is overexpressed in the cell membrane of activated cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAF), and its presence is related to poor prognosis. This educational document includes the procedure for performing PET/CT FAPI, biodistribution and the main potentially clinical applications in oncology to date.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Current literature highlights the need for psychological support of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with serious illness, for which pediatric palliative care (PPC) teams are often responsible. This scoping review aims to inventory the most current literature based on discipline, geography, population, methodology, and themes among interdisciplinary PPC teams and the management of psychological distress in AYAs. METHODS Using a scoping review design, a protocol was registered in Open Science Framework (https://osf.io/fb48n/). Sources for evidence included online databases (Scopus, PubMed, Embase, PsycInfo, CINAHL), Google Scholar, clinical manuals, texts, national organization webpages, and reference lists, all searched June, 2023. Interviews with content experts and authors identified additional sources. Those describing interdisciplinary palliative care (PC) and management of psychological/psychiatric distress in seriously ill AYAs, written in English, and completed in the U.S. between 2018-2023 were included. International citations were included if American literature was reviewed, or if authors described internationally developed PC standards by which American providers must practice. Clear and comprehensive data charting was completed by an independent reviewer, using a deductive approach with a standardized data-charting form developed prior to extraction. RESULTS Sixty-five references met inclusion criteria. Psychologists most frequently published in the past 5 years regarding integration of their care into palliative teams. Authors wrote from eastern U.S., qualitatively studying the PC team in the oncology space. Of eight themes identified, barriers, facilitators, and interventions were most frequently reported. CONCLUSIONS Role delineation among PPC teams can be difficult in the management of psychological distress, due to lack of training and consistent collaboration models among cancer and non-cancer populations. Current literature highlights a large gap in psychological/psychiatric training. However, optimized pain control, routine screening of distress, open/honest/developmentally appropriate communication, and early advance care planning are interventions by which palliative providers can begin managing psychological distress in seriously ill AYAs. While the presence of psychologists and psychiatrists is widely variable among PPC teams, their expertise can vastly advance the field of PC, through collaboration, education, research, and advocacy.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the Re-Mission video game on the fatigue and quality of life of adolescents diagnosed with cancer. A total of 46 adolescents aged who received inpatient chemotherapy treatment in the pediatric hematology clinic were enrolled in the study. The data were obtained by using the Personal Information Form, Scale for the Assessment of Fatigue in Pediatric Oncology Patients Aged 13-18 and Quality of Life scale. Intergroup comparisons demonstrated that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of their mean scores for the overall Scale for the Assessment of Fatigue and Quality of Life calculated at the baseline of the study and one month and three months. The use of Re-mission video game positively affected levels of fatigue and quality of life of adolescents aged between 13 and 18 diagnosed with cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Our study aimed to assess whether there was a relationship between clinical benefits and reimbursement decisions as well as the inclusion of economic evaluations in therapeutic positioning reports (IPTs) and to explore factors influencing reimbursement decisions. MATERIALS AND METHODS We analysed all anti-cancer drugs approved in Spain from 2010 to September 2022. The clinical benefit of each drug were evaluated using the European Society for Medical Oncology Magnitude of Clinical Benefit Scale (ESMO-MCBS) 1.1. The characteristics of these drugs were obtained from the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices. Reimbursement status information was obtained using BIFIMED, a web resource available in Spanish and consulted the agreements of the Interministerial Committee on Pricing of Medicines (CIPM). RESULTS In total, 73 drugs were included involving 197 indications. Almost half of the indications had substantial clinical benefit (49.8% yes vs. 50.3% no). Of the 153 indications with a reimbursement decision, 61 (56.5%) reimbursed indications had substantial clinical benefit compared to 14 (31.1%) of the non-reimbursed (p < 0.01). The median gain of overall survival was 4.9 months (2.8-11.2) for reimbursed indications and 2.9 months (1.7-5) in non-reimbursed (p < 0.05). Only six (3%) indications had an economic evaluation in the IPT. CONCLUSION Our study revealed that there is a relationship between substantial clinical benefit and the reimbursement decision in Spain. However, we also found that the overall survival gain was modest, and a significant proportion of the reimbursed indications had no substantial clinical benefit. Economic evaluations in IPTs are infrequent and cost-effectiveness analysis is not provided by CIPM.

Abstract
Surgery plays a crucial role in the treatment of children with solid malignancies. A well-conducted operation is often essential for cure. Collaboration with the primary care team is important for determining if and when surgery should be performed, and if performed, an operation must be done in accordance with well-established standards. The long-term consequences of surgery also need to be considered. Indications and objectives for a procedure vary. Providing education and developing and analyzing new research protocols that include aims relevant to surgery are key objectives of the Surgery Discipline of the Children's Oncology Group. The critical evaluation of emerging technologies to ensure safe, effective procedures is another key objective. Through research, education, and advancing technologies, the role of the pediatric surgeon in the multidisciplinary care of children with solid malignancies will continue to evolve.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aims to investigate the impact of medication reconciliation (MR) conducted by pharmacists before patient enrollment and the initiation of investigational treatments. By implementing MR, the primary objective is to evaluate the extent to which the inclusion of patients with prohibited or not recommended concomitant medications in clinical trials can be significantly reduced. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study included all patients who participated in clinical trials and underwent MR between September 1, 2015, and September 1, 2020. To identify prohibited or monitored drugs, protocols and investigator's brochures provided by the sponsor were meticulously reviewed and taken into consideration. RESULTS MR was performed for 501 patients, uncovering 35% of the medications they were currently taking. Through the pharmaceutical analysis, a total of 346 drug-drug interactions (DDIs) were identified, of which 188 required monitoring and 158 were strictly prohibited. More than half of the prohibited medications were herbal drugs. A significant portion of these prohibited drugs were discontinued, with only 6% being replaced by suitable alternatives. The implementation of MR played a crucial role in the identification of 51% of the prohibited or monitored drugs that were initially overlooked by oncologists. CONCLUSION MR is a highly effective measure aimed at reducing the risk of DDIs with investigational drugs, thereby minimizing protocol deviations and enhancing patient care. Sponsors of clinical trials value its implementation and recognize the substantial benefits it brings to the entire trial process. Consequently, many sponsors willingly provide funding to investigational sites that adopt MR as part of their standard practice, acknowledging its critical role in ensuring patient safety and maintaining data integrity throughout the course of clinical research studies.

Abstract
Breast cancer is a common but heterogeneous disease characterized by several biologic features, including tumor grade, hormone receptor status, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 status, and gene expression assays. These biologic and genomic features drive treatment decisions. In the advanced disease setting, inter- and intrapatient tumor heterogeneity is increasingly recognized as a challenge for optimizing treatment. Recent evidence and the recent approval of novel radiopharmaceuticals have increased recognition and acceptance of the potential of molecular imaging as a biomarker to impact and guide management decisions for advanced breast cancer.

Abstract
With advancements in cancer treatment, the survival rates for many malignancies have increased. However, both the primary tumors and the treatments themselves can give rise to various complications. Acute symptoms in oncology patients require prompt attention. Abdominopelvic oncologic emergencies can be classified into four distinct categories: vascular, bowel, hepatopancreatobiliary, and bone-related complications. Radiologists need to be familiar with these complications to ensure timely diagnosis, which ultimately enhances patient outcomes.

Abstract
Tumor heterogeneity represents a major challenge in breast cancer, being associated with disease progression and treatment resistance. Precision medicine has been extensively applied to dissect tumor heterogeneity and, through a deeper molecular understanding of the disease, to personalize therapeutic strategies. In the last years, technological advances have widely improved the understanding of breast cancer biology and several trials have been developed to translate these new insights into clinical practice, with the ultimate aim of improving patients' outcomes. In the era of molecular oncology, genomics analyses and other methodologies are shaping a new treatment algorithm in breast cancer care. In this manuscript, we review the main steps of precision medicine to predict drug sensitivity in breast cancer from a translational point of view. Genomic developments and their clinical implications are discussed, along with technological advancements that could broaden precision medicine applications. Current achievements are put into perspective to provide an overview of the state-of-art of breast cancer precision oncology as well as to identify future research directions.

Abstract
Cuproptosis provides a new therapeutic strategy for cancer treatment and is thought to have broad clinical application prospects. Nevertheless, some oncological clinical trials have yet to demonstrate favorable outcomes, highlighting the need for further research into the molecular mechanisms underlying cuproptosis in tumors. Cuproptosis primarily hinges on the intracellular accumulation of copper, with lipid metabolism exerting a profound influence on its course. The interaction between copper metabolism and lipid metabolism is closely related to cuproptosis. Copper imbalance can affect mitochondrial respiration and lipid metabolism changes, while lipid accumulation can promote copper uptake and absorption, and inhibit cuproptosis induced by copper. Anomalies in lipid metabolism can disrupt copper homeostasis within cells, potentially triggering cuproptosis. The interaction between cuproptosis and lipid metabolism regulates the occurrence, development, metastasis, chemotherapy drug resistance, and tumor immunity of cancer. Cuproptosis is a promising new target for cancer treatment. However, the influence of lipid metabolism and other factors should be taken into consideration. This review provides a brief overview of the characteristics of the interaction between cuproptosis and lipid metabolism in cancer and analyses potential strategies of applying cuproptosis for cancer treatment.

Abstract
With the increasing prevalence of neoplasia and kidney disease, patients undergoing oncological treatment are at greater risk of acute renal failure. Joint oncological and nephrological management requires a thorough understanding of the patient's clinical history, as well as the potential nephrotoxic effects of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. This article proposes a comprehensive approach to the assessment of acute renal failure in patients undergoing treatment for neoplasia.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the added benefit and revenues of oncology drugs, explore their association, and investigate potential discrepancies between added benefit and revenues across different approval pathways of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). DESIGN Retrospective cohort study. SETTING Oncology drugs and their indications approved by the EMA between 1995 and 2020. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Added benefit was evaluated using ratings published by seven organisations: health technology assessment agencies from the United States, France, Germany, and Italy, two medical oncology societies, and a drug bulletin. All retrieved ratings were recategorised using a four point ranking scale to indicate negative or non-quantifiable, minor, substantial, or major added benefit. Revenue data were extracted from publicly available financial reports and compared with published estimates of research and development (R&D) costs. Finally, the association between added benefit and revenue was evaluated. All analyses were performed within the overall study cohort, and within subgroups based on the EMA approval pathway: standard marketing authorisation, conditional marketing authorisation, and authorisation under exceptional circumstances. RESULTS 131 oncology drugs with 166 indications were evaluated for their added benefit by at least one organisation within the required timeframe, yielding a total of 458 added benefit ratings; 189 (41%) were negative or non-quantifiable. The median time to offset the median R&D costs ($684m, £535m, €602m, adjusted to 2020 values) was three years; 50 of 55 (91%) drugs recovered these costs within eight years. Drugs with higher added benefit ratings generally had greater revenues. Negative or non-quantifiable added benefit ratings were more frequent for conditional marketing authorisations and authorisations under exceptional circumstances than for standard marketing authorisations (relative risk 1.53, 95% confidence interval 1.23 to 1.89). Conditional marketing authorisations generated lower revenues and took longer to offset R&D costs than standard marketing authorisations (four years compared with three years). CONCLUSIONS While revenues seem to align with added benefit, most oncology drugs recover R&D costs within a few years despite providing little added benefit. This is particularly true for drugs approved through conditional marketing authorisations, which inherently appear to lack comprehensive evidence. Policy makers should evaluate whether current regulatory and reimbursement incentives effectively promote development of the most effective drugs for patients with the greatest needs.

Abstract
PURPOSE This overview of reviews aimed to summarize the prevalence of burnout and the dimensions of burnout (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment) in oncology professionals around the world. METHODS The CINAHL, Embase, PsycINFO, and PubMed databases were searched from inception to September 13, 2023. AMSTAR 2 was used to assess the quality of reviews. The overlap between reviews was calculated. RESULTS Twelve reviews were included. Overall, reviews showed that burnout was prevalent in oncologists and oncology nurses. On the other hand, no reviews meta-analyzed the prevalence of burnout in oncology radiation therapists. In addition, the dimensions of burnout, high emotional exhaustion, high depersonalization, and low personal accomplishment were highly prevalent across reviews in oncologists, oncology nurses, and oncology radiation therapists. In oncologists, the Americas (specifically Canada) showed the highest prevalence rates for high emotional exhaustion, whereas high depersonalization and low personal accomplishment were mainly prevalent in Europe and Asia, respectively. In oncology nurses, high emotional exhaustion and high depersonalization were mainly prevalent in Asia, whereas low personal accomplishment was more prevalent in the Americas (specifically Canada). The prevalence of overall levels of burnout was not meta-analyzed by continents. CONCLUSION Some methodological improvements may help to make more robust the findings of this overview (e.g., specific subgroup meta-analyses by oncology specialties), which may help readers reach more precise, direct, and consistent findings. Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aimed to explore the experiences of multidisciplinary medical teams in implementing humanistic palliative care within the oncology ward. DESIGN Purposive and snowball sampling methods were used in this qualitative study, which involved conducting semistructured interviews to gather personal experiences from members of multidisciplinary medical teams providing humanistic palliative care in the oncology ward. SETTING The research was conducted in the oncology ward of a tertiary hospital located in Foshan, China. PARTICIPANTS Participants included 4 doctors, 12 nurses and 2 medical social workers who form the multidisciplinary medical team responsible for delivering humanistic palliative care to patients with cancer in oncology wards. RESULTS Phenomenological qualitative analysis yielded 3 main themes and 9 subthemes. The identified themes were as follows: (1) conceptual change, (2) concrete actions and (3) facilitators and barriers to the implementation of humanistic palliative care. CONCLUSION The findings suggest a need for strengthening humanistic consciousness among multidisciplinary palliative care teams working in oncology wards, although there has been a gradual improvement in humanistic care behaviours. Furthermore, facilitators and barriers coexist in the implementation of humanistic palliative care. Efforts should be directed towards refining mechanisms that promote humanistic palliative care, fostering the enthusiasm of healthcare professionals, conducting systematic training to enhance their humanistic care abilities and striving for improvements in the quality of medical services for the benefit of both patients and their families.

Abstract
PURPOSE The primary objective was to establish whether blood-based leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein (LRG1) can predict outcomes in patients with locally advanced prostate cancer undergoing androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) and radiotherapy (RT) and to determine how it may relate to 92 immune-oncology (I-O)-related proteins in this setting. METHODS Baseline blood level of LRG1 from patients treated with ADT and RT enrolled in the CuPCa (n = 128) and IMRT (n = 81) studies was measured using ELISA. A longitudinal cohort with matched blood samples from start of ADT, start of RT, and end of RT protocol from 47 patients from the IMRT cohort was used to establish levels of I-O proteins by high-multiplexing Proximal Extension Assay by Olink Proteomics. Statistical analyses using Kaplan-Meier, Cox regression, and LIMMA analyses were applied to predict the prognostic value of LRG1 and its correlation to I-O proteins. RESULTS High baseline levels of LRG1 predicted a low frequency of treatment failure in patients undergoing ADT + RT in both the CuPCa and the IMRT cohorts. LRG1 was moderately correlated with CD4, IL6, and CSF1. We identified I-O proteins predicting metastatic failure (MF) at different timepoints. CONCLUSION LRG1 biomarker is associated with I-O proteins and can be used to improve stratification and monitoring of prostate cancer patients undergoing ADT + RT. This work will require further in-depth analyses in independent cohorts with treatment outcome data.

Abstract
In this editorial, we comment on the article by Zhang et al entitled Development of a machine learning-based model for predicting the risk of early postoperative recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which is characterized by high incidence and mortality rates, remains a major global health challenge primarily due to the critical issue of postoperative recurrence. Early recurrence, defined as recurrence that occurs within 2 years posttreatment, is linked to the hidden spread of the primary tumor and significantly impacts patient survival. Traditional predictive factors, including both patient- and treatment-related factors, have limited predictive ability with respect to HCC recurrence. The integration of machine learning algorithms is fueled by the exponential growth of computational power and has revolutionized HCC research. The study by Zhang et al demonstrated the use of a groundbreaking preoperative prediction model for early postoperative HCC recurrence. Chall-enges persist, including sample size constraints, issues with handling data, and the need for further validation and interpretability. This study emphasizes the need for collaborative efforts, multicenter studies and comparative analyses to validate and refine the model. Overcoming these challenges and exploring innovative approaches, such as multi-omics integration, will enhance personalized oncology care. This study marks a significant stride toward precise, effi-cient, and personalized oncology practices, thus offering hope for improved patient outcomes in the field of HCC treatment.

Abstract
Adolescent and young adult (AYA) oncology patients are unique in many aspects of their care; fertility preservation (FP) is one of the most complex to address. In addition to the newly diagnosed AYA patient, there are growing numbers of AYA survivors of childhood cancer who present with concerns about their fertility. Emerging independence, emotional and intellectual growth, and development of an adult mindset are hallmarks of the AYA population; these transitions heighten the intrinsic medical, social, and financial challenges of a cancer diagnosis. FP is extraordinarily important in AYA oncology and can be addressed in many ways: experimental options as well as standard of care, with key differences on the basis of pubertal development, cancer diagnosis, and urgency of cancer-directed therapy. Options exist both at diagnosis and throughout the survivorship journey. It is imperative that oncologists recognize the challenges in this age group, as well as opportunities to pursue FP. The field has evolved significantly in the past 25 years and will continue to evolve as we incorporate more immune-based and targeted therapies into our treatment regimens. This case-based review will explore opportunities to preserve fertility in this unique patient population.

Abstract
Background Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) followed by radical cystectomy (RC) remains the cornerstone of treatment for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). While platinum-based regimens have demonstrated benefits in tumor downstaging and improved long-term survival for selected patients, they may pose risks for those who are ineligible or unresponsive to chemotherapy. Objective We undertook a bibliometric analysis to elucidate the breadth of literature on NAC in bladder cancer, discern research trajectories, and underscore emerging avenues of investigation. Methods A systematic search of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was conducted to identify articles pertaining to NAC in bladder cancer from 1999 to 2022. Advanced bibliometric tools, such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and SCImago Graphica, facilitated the examination and depicted the publication trends, geographic contributions, institutional affiliations, journal prominence, author collaborations, and salient keywords, emphasizing the top 25 citation bursts. Results Our analysis included 1836 publications spanning 1999 to 2022, indicating a growing trend in both annual publications and citations related to NAC in bladder cancer. The United States emerged as the predominant contributor in terms of publications, citations, and international collaborations. The University of Texas was the leading institution in publication output. "Urologic Oncology Seminars and Original Investigations" was the primary publishing journal, while "European Urology" boasted the highest impact factor. Shariat, Shahrokh F., and Grossman, H.B., were identified as the most prolific and co-cited authors, respectively. Keyword analysis revealed both frequency of occurrence and citation bursts, highlighting areas of concentrated study. Notably, the integration of immunochemotherapy is projected to experience substantial growth in forthcoming research. Conclusions Our bibliometric assessment provides a panoramic view of the research milieu surrounding neoadjuvant chemotherapy for bladder cancer, encapsulating the present state, evolving trends, and potential future directions, with a particular emphasis on the promise of immunochemotherapy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The number of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) in need of oncological follow-up is growing. As a response, patient-led, home-based follow-up (PHFU) was developed, implemented and assessed. The aim of this study was to investigate how patients experienced PHFU. DESIGN A qualitative study with individual semistructured interviews. Interviews were transcribed verbatim, and thematically analysed through an inductive, double-coding approach. SETTING A university medical centre in the Netherlands. PARTICIPANTS 12 curatively treated patients with CRC who received PHFU were included after purposive sampling. RESULTS Overall, participants (N=12) were satisfied with PHFU. The time and cost-saving aspects for patient and hospital were evidently valued. PHFU was experienced as a shared effort, but patients felt like the primary responsibility remained in the hospital. Patients mentioned a decreased personal interaction with their healthcare provider (HCP) and felt a higher threshold to ask for help. However, all major questions were still addressed. Patients felt sufficiently competent to interpret their individual test results but experienced difficulty in interpreting repeated increases in carcinoembryonic antigen levels within the normal range. Educational status, age and a complicated disease course were seen as factors limiting the applicability of PHFU, and it was expressed that PHFU should be offered as an alternative instead of a novel standard of care. CONCLUSIONS According to patients, PHFU has great potential. However, PHFU may not be suitable for every CRC patient, and factors such as educational status, age and disease course should be taken into consideration. Patient and HCP have a shared responsibility to help successfully organise PHFU in practice.

Abstract
Neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) has been a remarkable therapeutic target for treating different malignancies, playing an essential role in oncogenic signaling pathways. Groundbreaking trials like NAVIGATE led to the approval of NTRK inhibitors by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat different malignancies, significantly impacting current oncology treatment. Accurate detection of NTRK gene fusion becomes very important for possible targeted therapy. Various methods to detect NTRK gene fusion have been applied widely based on sensitivity, specificity, and accessibility. The utility of different tests in clinical practice is discussed in this study by providing insights into their effectiveness in targeting patients who may benefit from therapy. Widespread use of NTRK inhibitors in different malignancies could remain limited due to resistance mechanisms that cause challenges to medication efficacy in addition to common side effects of the medications. This review provides a succinct overview of the application of NTRK inhibitors in various types of cancer by emphasizing the critical clinical significance of NTRK fusion gene detection. The discussion also provides a solid foundation for understanding the current challenges and potential changes for improving the efficacy of NTRK inhibitor therapy to treat different malignancies.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION This study aimed to identify barriers and facilitators to the implementation of family cancer history (FCH) collection tools in clinical practices and community settings by assessing clinicians' perceptions of implementing a chatbot interface to collect FCH information and provide personalized results to patients and providers. OBJECTIVES By identifying design and implementation features that facilitate tool adoption and integration into clinical workflows, this study can inform future FCH tool development and adoption in healthcare settings. MATERIALS AND METHODS Quantitative data were collected using survey to evaluate the implementation outcomes of acceptability, adoption, appropriateness, feasibility, and sustainability of the chatbot tool for collecting FCH. Semistructured interviews were conducted to gather qualitative data on respondents' experiences using the tool and recommendations for enhancements. RESULTS We completed data collection with 19 providers (n = 9, 47%), clinical staff (n = 5, 26%), administrators (n = 4, 21%), and other staff (n = 1, 5%) affiliated with the NCI Community Oncology Research Program. FCH was systematically collected using a wide range of tools at sites, with information being inserted into the patient's medical record. Participants found the chatbot tool to be highly acceptable, with the tool aligning with existing workflows, and were open to adopting the tool into their practice. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS We further the evidence base about the appropriateness of scripted chatbots to support FCH collection. Although the tool had strong support, the varying clinical workflows across clinic sites necessitate that future FCH tool development accommodates customizable implementation strategies. Implementation support is necessary to overcome technical and logistical barriers to enhance the uptake of FCH tools in clinical practices and community settings.

Abstract
Impressive advances have been seen in cancer immunotherapy during the last years. Although breast cancer (BC) has been long considered as non-immunogenic, immunotherapy for the treatment of BC is now emerging as a new promising therapeutic approach with considerable potential. This is supported by a plethora of completed and ongoing preclinical and clinical studies in various types of immunotherapies. However, a significant gap between clinical oncology and basic cancer research impairs the understanding of cancer immunology and immunotherapy, hampering cancer therapy research and development. To exploit the accumulating available data in an optimal way, both fundamental mechanisms at play in BC immunotherapy and its clinical pitfalls must be integrated. Then, clinical trials must be critically designed with appropriate combinations of conventional and immunotherapeutic strategies. While there is room for major improvement, this updated review details the immunotherapeutic tools available to date, from bench to bedside, in the hope that this will lead to rethinking and optimizing standards of care for BC patients.

BACKGROUND/PURPOSE The American Society of Clinical Oncology has called for an increased priority to improve cancer care for sexual and gender minority (SGM) populations because of heightened risk of receiving disparate treatment and having suboptimal experiences, including perceived discrimination. We demonstrate how integrating trauma-informed care (TIC) principles across the cancer continuum is a key strategy to improving care delivery and outcomes among SGM populations. METHOD This empirically informed perspective expands on the concepts generated through the American Society of Clinical Oncology position statement and uses the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association's "Four Rs" Toward Trauma Informed Care: Realize, Recognize, Response, and Resist Traumatization. RESULTS Recommendations for each component of TIC include: (1) Realize: Implement SGM cultural humility training, including modules on SGM-specific trauma, discrimination, harassment, and violence; (2) Recognize: Routinely screen for emotional distress using methods to ensure privacy, and/or normalize mental health screenings to cancer patients; (3) Respond: Create and widely disseminate policies and patients' rights that prohibit discrimination and ensure access to gender-neutral clinical environments; and (4) Resist Traumatization: Establish and respond to quality metrics (e.g., standardized patients, patient satisfaction surveys) that are informed by a community advisory board with the purpose of ensuring and maintaining quality care. CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS Integrating TIC principles into cancer care for SGM populations is crucial to address disparities in treatment and clinical outcomes. Our recommendations offer practical approaches for oncology teams to implement TIC care and ensure equitable and inclusive cancer care for patients and their families.

Abstract
PURPOSE Despite proven benefits, few cancer patients exercise during chemotherapy. The American College of Sports Medicine's Exercise is Medicine® (EIM) initiative describes a model to integrate exercise into oncology care, based upon assessing patients' ability to exercise safely, advising on exercise benefits, and referring patients to exercise. We developed and tested a strategy to implement EIM in a community-based oncology clinic, to assess-advise-refer 20 patients undergoing chemotherapy to a 3-month online exercise class, and measured implementation outcomes. METHODS Using a community-based provider participation in research (CBPPR) model, researchers and staff co-designed and tested a 4-level implementation strategy, with a goal of assessing-advising-referring 20 cancer patients to exercise. Surveys and interviews were conducted with 12 (100%) staff at baseline and post-implementation on acceptability/appropriateness/feasibility, perceptions of individual implementation roles, and organizational strengths/conditions. Data were analyzed using correlations, t-tests, and content analysis. RESULTS The proposed strategy was revised in collaboration with staff who requested assistance for recruitment and data collection. EIM was successfully implemented with 41 (92%) patients assessed, 37 (90%) advised, and 22 (60%) referred to exercise classes. Barriers to implementation were staff shortages and time constraints; facilitators included research team supports. Staff's perceived organizational strengths were positively correlated with exercise promotion acceptability, appropriateness, and feasibility. There were no statistically significant changes in implementation outcomes (acceptability/appropriateness/feasibility) post-implementation. CONCLUSIONS Using a collaborative model, EIM was successfully implemented in a community oncology clinic; however, the clinic required significant support from the research team. Adaptations to the EIM process may be required to improve implementation outcomes.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study examines providers' and clinic staff's perspectives on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) implementation at an academic medical center. METHODS An anonymous and voluntary survey was administered to Henry Ford Cancer providers and clinic staff 18 months after PROs program implementation in September 2020, to obtain their feedback on perceived barriers, impact on workflows, and PROs administration frequency in routine cancer care. RESULTS A total of 180 providers and 40 clinic staff were invited to complete the survey; 31% and 63% completed the survey, respectively. Approximately 68% of providers reported that electronically integrated PROs scores were either beneficial or somewhat beneficial to their patients, while only 28% of the clinic staff reported that PROs were beneficial or somewhat beneficial to patients. According to the clinic staff, the most common barriers to PROs completion included lack of patients' awareness of the utility of the program with respect to their care, patients' health status at check-in, and PROs being offered too frequently. CONCLUSION There is favorable acceptance of the PROs program by providers, but clinic staff found it less favorable. Interventions to address barriers and improve program engagement are needed to ensure broad adoption of PROs in oncology practice.

Abstract
Addressing social risks in cancer prevention and control presents a new opportunity for accelerating cancer health equity. As members of the American Society of Preventive Oncology (ASPO) Cancer Health Disparities Special Interest Group, we describe the current state of science on social risks in oncology research and practice. To reduce and eliminate the unjust burden of cancer, we also provide recommendations for multilevel research examining social risks as contributors to inequities and the development of social risks-focused interventions. Suggestions for research and practice are provided within levels of the socio-ecological model, including the interpersonal, organizational, community, and policy levels.

Abstract
Immunotherapy has become the standard first-line treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with negative driver genes, which has significantly improved the prognosis of patients. However, there is still a lack of consistent guidelines or consensus on evaluation and treatment regimens after first-line immunotherapy resistance. The Committee of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer of Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology organized multidisciplinary experts from medical oncology, respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, radiotherapy, and imaging to conduct an in-depth discussion on the definition and classification of primary resistance and secondary resistance, evaluation criteria of immunotherapy, subsequent treatment strategies of oligo-progression or extensive progression after first-line immunotherapy, re-challenges of immunotherapy and clinical research of new drugs in advanced NSCLC patients with negative driver genes according to the existing evidence. After the consensus meeting, an expert consensus on evaluation and treatment strategy of advanced NSCLC with negative driver genes after first-line immunotherapy resistance was formed, aiming to provide standardized guidance for clinical practice of Chinese clinicians.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Despite the pivotal role of clinical trials in advancing orthopaedic oncology knowledge and treatment strategies, the persistent issues of trial discontinuation and nonpublication are significant problems. This study conducted an analysis examining clinical trial discontinuation rates, associations between intervention types and discontinuation/nonpublication, and the role of funding, enrollment size, and their implications for trial success and completion. METHODS This study, conducted on May 1, 2023, utilized a cross-sectional design to comprehensively analyze phase 3 and 4 randomized controlled trials within the realm of orthopaedic oncology. We specifically incorporated Phase 3 and 4 trials as they are designed to evaluate prolonged outcomes in human subjects and are more likely to reach publication. Study characteristics of interest included the intervention utilized in the clinical trial, presence of funding, whether the trial was published, completed, and trial enrollment size. The investigation involved an examination of ClinicalTrials.gov, a prominent online repository of clinical trial data managed by the National Library of Medicine of the USA. Descriptive statistics and multivariate logistic regressions were used to determine statistical significance. RESULTS Among the cohort of 130 trials, 19.2% were prematurely discontinued. Completion rates varied based on intervention type; 111 pharmaceutical trials demonstrated a completion rate of 83.8%, whereas 19 non-pharmaceutical trials exhibited a completion rate of 8.0% (P < .001). Surgical trials, totaling 10, showed a completion rate of 90%. The overall trial publication rate was 86.15%, with pharmaceutical interventions achieving a publication rate of 91.96%. Larger-scale trials (≥ 261 participants) emerged as a protective factor against both discontinuation (Adjusted Odds Ratio [AOR]: 0.85, 95% Confidence Interval [CI] 0.42-0.95) and nonpublication (AOR: 0.19, 95% CI 0.13-.47), compared to smaller-scale trials. CONCLUSION This study accentuates the heightened vulnerability of non-pharmaceutical interventions and trials exhibiting lower rates of enrollment to the issues of discontinuation and nonpublication. Moving forward, the advancement of clinical trials necessitates a concerted effort to enhance trial methodologies, especially concerning nonpharmaceutical interventions, along with a meticulous refinement of participant enrollment criteria.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Brain tumours are the ninth most common cancer in the UK, and account for 3% of all new cancer cases. AIM To understand the impact of living with a primary brain tumour and identify adjustments that patients make in order to cope with their condition. This also encomapsses the impact of interventions like support groups in terms of care and therapeutic value. METHODS After ethical approval, a qualitative approach was employed, which set out to interview 11 adult patients living with primary brain tumours. The interviews were conducted face-to-face and were semi-structured interviews. Interview data were coded and thematic analysis used. FINDINGS Four themes were developed, namely: adjustment; loss of independence; support; and health and symptoms. CONCLUSION Living with a brain tumour leads to an inevitable adjustment to maintain day-to-day life. The findings suggest there are a number of adjustments that patients make to maintain some independence. Many people valued the support they received from support groups, while others felt that the support they received was inadequate. The mandatory loss of a driving licence for people in the UK was the most concerning. Its removal led to a loss of confidence and made them immediately dependent on others for travel. While support was provided, there was an apparent omission in the provision of psychological support. Oncology and palliative care nurses are in key positions to explore psychological concerns and offer tailored support.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Molecular-driven oncology allows oncologists to identify treatments that match a cancer's genomic profile. Clinical trials are promoted as an effective modality to deliver a molecularly matched treatment. We explore the role of geographical accessibility in Italy, and its impact on patient access to clinical trials. MATERIAL AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed molecular data from a single-institutional case series of patients receiving next-generation sequencing testing between March 2019 and July 2020. Actionable alterations were defined as the ones with at least one matched treatment on Clinicaltrials.gov at the time of genomic report signature. We then calculated the hypothetical distance to travel to reach the nearest assigned clinical trial. RESULTS We identified 159 patients eligible for analysis. One hundred and one could be potentially assigned to a clinical trial in Italy, and the median distance that patients needed to travel to reach the closest location with a suitable clinical trial was 76 km (interquartile range = 127.46 km). Geographical distribution of clinical trials in Italy found to be heterogeneous, with Milan and Naples being the areas with a higher concentration. We then found that the probability of having a clinical trial close to a patient's hometown increased over time, according to registered studies between 2015 and 2020. CONCLUSIONS The median distance to be travelled to the nearest trial was generally acceptable for patients, and trials availability is increasing. Nevertheless, many areas are still lacking trials, so efforts are required to increase and homogenize the possibilities to be enrolled in clinical trials for Italian patients with cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND With the COVID-19 pandemic came rapid uptake in virtual oncology care. During this, sociodemographic inequities in access to virtual visits (VVs) have become apparent. To better understand these issues, we conducted a qualitative study to describe the perceived usability and acceptability of VVs among Black adults diagnosed with cancer. METHODS Adults who self-identified as Black and had a diagnosis of prostate, multiple myeloma, or head and neck cancer were recruited from 2 academic medical centers, and their community affiliates to participate in a semi-structured interview, regardless of prior VV experience. A patient and family advisory board was formed to inform all components of the study. Interviews were conducted between September 2, 2021 and February 23, 2022. Transcripts were organized topically, and themes and subthemes were determined through iterative and interpretive immersion/crystallization cycles. RESULTS Of the 49 adults interviewed, 29 (59%) had participated in at least one VV. Three overarching themes were derived: (1) VVs felt comfortable and convenient in the right contexts; (2) the technology required for VVs with video presented new challenges, which were often resolved by an audio-only telephone call; and (3) participants reported preferring in-person visits, citing concerns regarding gaps in nonverbal communication, trusting providers, and distractions during VV. CONCLUSION While VVs were reported to be acceptable in specific circumstances, Black adults reported preferring in-person care, in part due to a perceived lack of interpersonal connectedness. Nonetheless, retaining reimbursement for audio-only options for VVs is essential to ensure equitable access for those with less technology savvy and/or limited device/internet capabilities.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Evidentiary requirements for relative effectiveness assessment vary among European health technology assessment (HTA) bodies, affecting the time to HTA decision-making and potentially delaying time to patient access. Improved alignment may reduce this time; therefore, we aim to analyze the differences in evidentiary requirements for oncology drug assessments among European HTA bodies and provide recommendations toward an increased alignment. METHODS Interviews were conducted with stakeholders in drug assessments of Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, England and Wales, and Sweden about evidentiary requirements for several subdomains to identify differences and obtain recommendations for addressing differences. The interview results were analyzed on degrees of evidence acceptability per HTA body and alignment on evidentiary requirements among HTA bodies. RESULTS Subdomains demonstrating noteworthy differences concerned the acceptability of extrapolation to other populations, class effects, progression-free survival and (other) surrogate endpoints as outcomes, the absence of quality-of-life data, single-arm trials, cross-over trial designs, short trial duration, and the clinical relevance of effect size. CONCLUSION Alignment can be enhanced to reduce time to decision-making and to improve equity in patient access. Proposed recommendations to achieve this included joint early dialogues, intensified collaboration and exchange between countries, joint relative effectiveness assessments, and the use of access agreements.

Abstract
The International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) launched a program to map all pediatric cancer facilities around the world. After the results in Africa were completed, the strategy for data collection for Latin America was revised to improve the accuracy and avoid duplications. In partnership with SIOP, the Sociedad Latino Americana de Oncología Pediátrica (SLAOP) approached their delegates who provided the contacts for a 10-question survey about their institutional capacities. Data were collected by email, online meetings, or telephone calls, and stored in a secure platform. All but one country participated and a high number of centers were recorded.

Abstract
Information overload, informational stress and its deleterious consequences constitute a subject of growing interest in the way of work. This is quite well documented among anesthesiologists. Studies have also been carried out on cancer patients or on the general public in terms of cancer prevention. After having defined the concepts and the consequences, we hypothesize the presence of informational stress among medical oncologists. We illustrate this hypothesis regarding adjuvant treatment of breast cancer. Specific studies (qualitative and quantitative ones) would be particularly interesting in oncology.

Abstract
The life that a person with cancer leads is called the cancer journey. As cancer treatment advances and specialization progresses, a trend toward integrating each specialty from the perspective of the cancer journey is emerging. In this paper, we consider task-sharing and task-shifting from the perspective of integrating oncology and primary care. Although oncologists and primary care physicians have different specialties, we believe that task-sharing and task-shifting can be achieved and lead to smooth transitional care by strengthening collaboration and sharing knowledge and experience, while taking advantage of their respective characteristics as medical professionals working with people with cancer. For this purpose, I would like both oncologists and primary care physicians to collaborate with a high perspective and a broad viewpoint to improve the quality of life of people with cancer, without making it an objective to pursue their respective specialties.
