Methods: Four rounds of CHNS data were used. Urban/rural, age and gender specific insufficient sleeping rates and excessive sleeping rates were analyzed. Results: In 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2011, a total of 274, 281, 329 and 304 children aged 3-5 years; 874, 806, 768 and 742 children aged 6-12 years; 789, 529, 426 and 367 children aged 13-17 years; 9 568, 9 530, 9 942 and 9 609 adults aged ≥18 years were surveyed respectively. The lowest insufficient sleeping rate was 53.9% (200/371) in 3-17 years old children in rural area in 2006, the highest insufficient sleeping rate was 77.2% (44/57) in 3-5 years old children in urban area in 2004. The insufficient sleeping rate increased in rural 3-5 years old children from 2004 to 2011. For the adults aged ≥18 years, the insufficient sleeping rate ranged from 4.2% (82/1 954) in females aged 18-44 years in 2004 and 2009 to 20.8% (211/1 015) in urban residents aged > 60 years in 2011. The insufficient sleeping rate in age-groups 44-59 years and ≥60 years increased in both males and females and in both urban area and rural area from 2004 to 2011. The gender specific excessive sleeping rate in 3-17 years old children was very low in both urban area and rural area and no difference was found in different rounds of survey. The excessive sleeping rate in adults ranged from 18.4% (569/3 093) in urban population in 2011 to 32.5% (1 617/4 969) in females in 2004. The excessive sleeping rate of adult decreased from 2004 to 2011. Conclusion: We should pay attention to the fact that the insufficient sleeping rate in adolescents is high and in increase in rural 3-5 years old children and adults aged ≥45 years.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the effects of exogenous hydrogen sulfide on the secretion of growth factors basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1), as well as inflammatory mediators tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) and interleukin 1β (IL-1β) in macrophages of deep partial-thickness burn wound in rats. METHODS Seventy-eight SD rats were divided into normal control group (n=6), pure burn group, sodium hydrosulfide group, propargylglycine (PPG) group, and sodium hydrosulfide+ PPG group according to the random number table, with 18 rats in each of the latter four groups. Rats in normal control group did not receive any treatment, while rats in the other four groups were inflicted with 5% total burn surface area deep partial-thickness scald (hereinafter referred to as burn) on the back. Immediately after burn, rats in pure burn group, sodium hydrosulfide group, and group PPG were intraperitoneally injected with saline 2 mL/kg, sodium hydrosulfide 56 μmol/kg, and PPG 45 mg/kg respectively, while those in sodium hydrosulfide+ PPG group were intraperitoneally injected with sodium hydrosulfide 56 μmol/kg and PPG 45 mg/kg, once a day till the day before harvesting specimen. Six rats of normal control group fed for one week, and 6 rats from each of the rest four groups on post injury day (PID) 3, 7, 14 were collected respectively. Normal skin on the back of rats in normal control group and tissue in the base of wound of rats in the other four groups were harvested to isolate macrophages, and then the content of bFGF, TGF-β1, TNF-α, and IL-1β in culture supernatant of macrophages was detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Data were processed with one-way analysis of variance, analysis of variance of factorial design, and LSD test. RESULTS Compared with that of normal control group [(42.6±2.5) and (18±4) pg/mL], the content of bFGF and TGF-β1 in culture supernatant of macrophages of rats in pure burn group was obviously increased at each time point (with P values below 0.01), peaking on PID 14 at (141.6±7.7) and (580±16) pg/mL respectively. Compared with that of pure burn group, the content of bFGF and TGF-β1 in culture supernatant of macrophages of rats in sodium hydrosulfide group was obviously increased at each time point (with P values below 0.01), peaking on PID 14 at (193.7±10.9) and (793±12) pg/mL respectively, while the content of bFGF and TGF-β1 in culture supernatant of macrophages of rats in group PPG was obviously decreased at each time point (with P values below 0.01), reaching the nadir on PID 3 at (62.0±7.1) and (170±10) pg/mL respectively. The content of bFGF and TGF-β1 in culture supernatant of macrophages of rats in sodium hydrosulfide+ PPG group was obviously lower than that of sodium hydrosulfide group but obviously higher than that of group PPG at each time point (with P values below 0.01), peaking on PID 14 at (151.3±9.0) and (579±9) pg/mL respectively. Compared with that of normal control group [(97±6) and (31±6) pg/mL], the content of TNF-α and IL-1β in culture supernatant of macrophages of rats in pure burn group was obviously increased at each time point (with P values below 0.01), peaking on PID 3 at (924±8) and (290±10) pg/mL respectively. Compared with that of pure burn group, the content of TNF-α and IL-1β in culture supernatant of macrophages of rats in sodium hydrosulfide group was obviously decreased at each time point (with P values below 0.01), reaching the nadir on PID 14 at (346±10) and (120±5) pg/mL respectively, while the content of TNF-α and IL-1β in culture supernatant of macrophages of rats in group PPG was obviously increased at each time point (with P values below 0.01), peaking on PID 3 at (1 232±13) and (410±10) pg/mL respectively. The content of TNF-α and IL-1β in culture supernatant of macrophages of rats in sodium hydrosulfide+ PPG group was obviously higher than that of sodium hydrosulfide group but obviously lower than that of group PPG at each time point (with P values below 0.01), reaching the nadir on PID 14 at (488±16) and (144±6) pg/mL respectively. CONCLUSIONS Supplementation of exogenous hydrogen sulfide in small dosage can increase the secretion of growth factors bFGF and TGF-β1 in macrophages of wound in rats with deep partial-thickness burn in the early stage and reduce the release of inflammatory mediators TNF-α and IL-1β in the meantime, thus affecting the healing of wound.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the association of physical activities, sedentary behaviors with overweight/obesity in Chinese children aged 9-11 years, analyze the gender difference and heterogeneity of the association across different provinces, and provide evidence for prevention and control of overweight and obesity. METHODS Using the data of 40 692 children aged 9-11 years from Chinese National Survey on Students' Constitution and Health in 2010, the height and weight were measured and the time spent in physical activities, screen behaviors and homework were collected. We analyzed the associations among physical activities, sedentary behaviors and overweight/obesity in boys and girls separately, and assessed the heterogeneity of associations across different provinces with Meta-analysis. RESULTS The prevalence of overweight/obesity of the boys (27.1%) was higher than that of the girls (12.9%), compared with the rural students (15.6%), the situation of overweight/obesity of the urban students (23.8%) was more serious, the prevalences of overweight/obesity were separately 22.6%, 19.2% and 17.5% among developed, middle-developed and undeveloped social economic status subgroups. The boys with physical activities no more than 1 hour per day were more likely to be overweight/obese, with the OR of 1.09 (95%CI: 1.02, 1.17). The girls with screen time more than 1 hour per day or homework time more than 2 hours per day were more likely to be overweight/obese, with the ORs of 1.13 (95%CI: 1.02, 1.26) and 1.18 (95%CI: 1.03, 1.35) respectively. The high level of sedentary behaviors (more than 135 min per day) was associated with overweight/obese in the girls, and the OR was 1.19 (95%CI: 1.08, 1.33). There was no significant heterogeneity of effect values between physical activities and overweight/obesity in the boys and between sedentary behaviors and overweight/obesity in the girls across the different provinces (P> 0.05). CONCLUSION The associations among physical activities, sedentary behaviors and overweight/obesity existed in Chinese children aged 9-11 years, which were different in boys and girls. There was no statistically significant heterogeneity across different provinces. The strategies to prevent and control overweight/obesity in primary school students should focus on gender-specific needs.

Abstract
Huang-Lian-Jie-Du Decoction (HLJDD) is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula with heat-dissipating and detoxifying effects. It is used to treat inflammation-associated diseases. However, no systematic pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) data concerning the activity of HLJDD under inflammatory conditions is available to date. In the present study, the concentration-time profiles and the hepatic clearance rates (HCR) of 41 major components in rat plasma in response to the oral administration of a clinical dose of HLJDD were investigated by LC-QqQ-MS using a dynamic multiple reaction monitoring (DMRM) method. Additionally, the levels of 7 cytokines (CKs) in the plasma and the body temperature of rats were analyzed. Furthermore, a PK-PD model was established to describe the time course of the hemodynamic and anti-inflammatory effects of HLJDD. As one of the three major active constituents in HLJDD, iridoids were absorbed and eliminated more easily and quickly than alkaloids and flavonoids. Compared with the normal controls, the flavonoids, alkaloids and iridoids in inflamed rats exhibited consistently changing trends of PK behaviors, such as higher bioavailability, slower elimination, delays in reaching the maximum concentration (Tmax) and longer substantivity. The HCR of iridoids was different from that of alkaloids and flavonoids in inflamed rats. Furthermore, excellent pharmacodynamic effects of HLJDD were observed in inflamed rats. The levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-1β, IL-10, and macrophage inflammatory protein-2 (MIP-2) and body temperature significantly decreased after the administration of HLJDD. Based on PK-PD modeling with the three-phase synchronous characterization of time-concentration-effect, flavonoids exhibited one mechanism of action in the anti-inflammatory process, while iridoids and alkaloids showed another mechanism of action. Taken together, the results demonstrated that HLJDD may restrain inflammation synergistically via its major constituents (alkaloids, flavonoids and iridoids). A correlation between the exposure concentration of different types of compounds and their anti-inflammatory effects in the body was shown. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the anti-inflammatory activity of HLJDD.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the allele frequencies of aspirin-response-related variants in different population. METHOD The allele frequencies of reported clinically significant aspirin-response-related variants were evaluated based on 620 whole exome sequencing (WES) data collected from 2013 to 2016 in Children's Hospital of Fudan University. Then the local allele frequencies were compared with 1 000 Genomes project database, and χ(2) test was used. RESULT Thirty-eight aspirin-response-related variants that had clinical significance had been detected in the 620 WES data.Ten (26%) of them were related with drug efficacy while 28 (74%) were related with toxicity or adverse drug reaction (ADR). These variants were distributed in 33 genes. There were 23 aspirin-related variants further analysised, and the frequency of 7 (rs1050891, rs6065, rs7862221, rs1065776, rs3818822, rs3775291 and rs1126643) had no significant difference compared with frequency of European and East Asian population of 1 000 Genome project (P>0.01 for both), 10 (rs2228079, rs1613662, rs4523, rs28360521, rs1131882, rs1047626, rs3856806, rs2768759, rs7572857 and rs1126510) of them had no significant difference compared with East Asian but were significantly different from European population, 1 (rs2075797) had no significant difference compared with frequency of European and different with frequency of East Asian, and 5 variants(rs10279545, rs730012, rs16851030, rs1353411, rs1800469)were different from frequency of both East Asian(0.019, 0.058, 0.167, 0.452, 0.340 vs. 0.100, 0.151, 0.396, 0.568, 0.453, χ(2)=21.798, 20.400, 67.543, 16.531, 15.807, P all<0.01) and European population(0.531, 0.312, 0.037, 0.179, 0.688, χ(2)=325.799, 92.877, 144.811, 156.471, 174.533, P all<0.01). CONCLUSION Most variants that have clinical significance in aspirin response are related with drug efficacy or drug toxicity or ADR, indicating the urgency of variants screen in clinical practice.Significant population-specificity is detected in local 620 WES data in aspirin-response-related variants.

Abstract
Responses to stocking density (SD), dietary biotin concentration and litter condition were evaluated on 2016 Ross 308 male broilers in the fattening period (day 22-day 42). The birds were placed in 48 pens with either dry or wet litter to simulate the final stocking density of 30 kg (12 broilers/m2 ; normal stocking density, NSD) and 40 kg (16 broilers/m2 ; high stocking density, HSD) of body weight (BW)/m2 floor space. A corn-soybean meal-based diet was supplemented with biotin to provide a normal (NB; 155 μg/kg) or high (HB, 1521 μg/kg) level of dietary biotin. There were six repetitions per treatment. The inappropriate moisture content of litter associated with HSD was avoided (p < 0.05) by good management (SD difference: dry litter, 6.65% vs. wet litter, 13.23%; 42 days), which made it advantageous (p < 0.01) for footpad (SD difference: dry litter, 0.118 vs. wet litter, 0.312; weekly average value) and hock health (SD difference: dry litter, 0.090 vs. wet litter, 0.303; weekly average value) of HSD birds, but not (p > 0.05) for growth and processing yield. In HSD, the biotin effect (gains, FCR) was significantly higher (p < 0.01) than in NSD. The similar response of HSD birds to supplemental biotin was observed (p < 0.05) for lesion scores of footpad and hock in particularly finishing chickens, and a significant interaction (p < 0.01) among stocking density, biotin supplementation and litter condition existed from 35 to 42 days of age. Taken together, increasing dietary biotin improves the performance and well-being of broiler chickens stocked at high densities in litter-independent and litter-dependent manners respectively.

Abstract
We investigated the associations between Beclin-1 and microRNA-30a (miR-30a) expression and the severity and treatment response in colorectal cancer (CRC). Our sample size consisted of 139 CRC patients who were treated with surgery alone. Immunohistochemistry was used to investigate the expression and prognostic significance of Beclin-1 in CRC, while the weak expression of Beclin-1 in normal tissue was used as the basis for assessing tumors (control group). Real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction quantified miR-30a levels. The expression levels of Beclin-1 and miR-30a were associated with clinical variables and prognoses. Beclin-1 was expressed more highly in CRC tissues than in controls. This expression was related to gender (P = 0.023), histological grade (P = 0.006), M stage (P = 0.004), tumor node metastasis stage (P = 0.020), vascular invasion, and nodal involvement. Patients with higher Beclin-1 expression levels had higher survival rates (P = 0.08) than patients with lower Beclin-1 expression levels. Beclin-1 was a prognostic indicator (P < 0.05) in a multivariate analysis. Beclin-1 was overexpressed in CRC tissues and was correlated with lower levels of miR-30a (P < 0.05, r = -0. 4189). In conclusion, Beclin-1 was a good prognostic indicator in CRC and was correlated with survival rate. Beclin-1 is important in the growth and metastasis of CRC. Apoptosis in CRC might be due to the increased autophagy induced by decreased levels of miR-30a.

Abstract
Like other developing countries, China was reported to have a relatively high seroprevalence of anti-hepatitis A antibodies (anti-HAV). However, no studies have evaluated the prevalence of anti-HAV and HAV RNA among voluntary blood donors with or without elevated serum alanine transaminase (ALT) levels. Anti-HAV antibodies were detected using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction was carried out for detection of HAV RNA. In the current study, we analyzed a total of 450 serum samples with elevated ALT levels (≥40 U/L) and 278 serum samples with non-elevated ALT levels. Seroprevalence rates of anti-HAV were 51.6% in donors with elevated ALT and 41.4% in donors with non-elevated ALT; however, none of the samples was positive for HAV RNA. The results of our study showed lower seroprevalence rates of anti-HAV in blood donors (irrespective of ALT levels) than those in published data on Chinese populations. Although donors with elevated ALT had statistically higher prevalence rates of anti- HAV than did those with non-elevated ALT, none of the serum samples had detectable levels of the active virus. In conclusion, our results demonstrate that the transmission of hepatitis A by blood transfusion will occur rarely.

Abstract
The spatiotemporal distribution of source areas for the early immigration of the white-backed planthopper, Sogatella furcifera (Horvάth), at Xiushan in the middle reach of Yangtze River of China, was analyzed with HYSPLIT (Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory) and ArcGIS 10.0. The analysis was based on light trap data collected during April-July in 2000-2012. The synoptic meteorology backgrounds during the immigration periods were analyzed by GrADS (Grid Analysis and Display System). The light trap catches of S. furcifera varied monthly and annually. S. furcifera started immigration in Xiushan in early April to early May, whereas the main immigration period was in July. The distribution of the source areas varied monthly, and the core was moved from the south to the north gradually. The main source areas of S. furcifera in May were in southwestern Guangxi and northern Vietnam. The source areas of S. furcifera in June were located in southwestern Guangxi and western Hunan. Additionally, some of the pests were from southeastern Yunnan. The source areas in July were in northwestern Guangxi, southwestern Guizhou, eastern Yunnan, and the transitional parts of Guangxi, Guizhou, and Yunnan. The sum frequencies of southwest and south winds on the 850 hPa isobaric surface of Xiushan of May-July in heavy occurrence years were more than the light occurrence years. The key meteorological factors were suggested to be vertical perturbation, precipitation, and wind shear during S. furcifera immigration periods.

Abstract
RATIONALE Limonoids, characterized by a triterpenoid skeleton with a furan ring, are unique secondary metabolites widely distributed in the families of Rutaceae, particularly in Citrus species and Meliaceae. Studies on health benefits have demonstrated that limonoids have a range of biological activities. Dietary intake of citrus limonoids may provide a protective effect against the onset of various cancers and other xenobiotic related diseases. However, few studies about the metabolic profiles of limonoids have been carried out. METHODS The objectives of this study were to investigate the metabolic profiles of four limonoids (limonin, obacunone, nominin and gedunin) in human liver microsomes (HLMs) using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC/HRMS) and to identify the cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes involved in the formation of their metabolites by recombinant human CYP enzymes. RESULTS Based on the accurate HR-MS/MS spectra and the proposed MS/MS fragmentation pathways, four metabolites of limonin (M1-1, M1-2, M1-3 and M1-4), eight metabolites ofobacunone (M2-1, M2-2, M2-3, M2-4, M2-5, M2-6, M2-7 and M2-8), six metabolites of nominin (M3-1, M3-2, M3-3, M3-4, M3-5 and M3-6) and three metabolites of gedunin (M4-1, M4-2 and M4-3) in HLMs were tentatively identified and the involved CYPs were investigated. CONCLUSIONS The results demonstrated that reduction at C-7 and C-16, hydroxylation and reaction of glycine with reduction limonoids were the major metabolic pathways of limonoids in HLMs. Among them, glycination with reduction was the unique metabolic process of limonoids observed for the first time. CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 played an important role in the isomerization and glycination of limonoids in HLMs, whereas other CYP isoforms were considerably less active. The results might help to understand the metabolic process of limonoids in vitro such as the unidentified metabolites of limonin glucoside observed in the medium of microbes and the biotransformation of limonin in juices. Moreover, it would be beneficial for us to further study the pharmacokinetic behavior of limonoids in vivo systematically.

Abstract
Costello syndrome (CS; OMIM 218040) is caused by heterozygous germline mutations of HRAS (OMIM 190020).We report on a patient with sporadic CS presenting with characteristic craniofacial dysmorphism, congenital cardiopulmonary disorders, intellectual impairment, and skin abnormalities manifesting as loose redundant skin of the hands and feet, acanthosis nigricans, multiple naevi and hypotrichosis. Using Sanger sequencing for the case-parents trio, we detected a de novo insertion mutation (c.187_207dup) in HRAS, which was predicted to result in duplication of amino acids 63-69 (p.E63_D69dup). This mutation was recently described in a mild case of CS, with hyperactivation of HRAS and disrupted capacity to respond to incoming signals. Our study delineates the detailed clinical features associated with this noncanonical HRAS mutation and further expands the phenotypic spectrum of CS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To examine the cholesterol efflux and the expressions of ATP-binding cassette transporter G1 (ABCG1) in macrophages of diabetic patients and the roles of liver-X receptor (LXR) in regulation of ABCG1 expressions. METHODS Blood was collected from patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and healthy controls. The peripheral blood monocytes were differentiated into macrophages with macrophage colony stimulating factor (M-CSF). The cells were radio labeled with [(3)H] cholesterol and were performed with cholesterol efflux assays. Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT PCR) and Western blot were performed to measure the mRNA and protein expressions of ABCA1 and ABCG1. To test the effects of LXR on ABCG1 expressions, inhibition of LXRα and LXRβ by siRNA were performed. The DNA-protein complex of LXR and LXR element (LXRE) located in the promoter region of ABCG1 gene were detected with electrophery mobility supershift assay (EMSA). RESULTS Macrophage ABCG1 expressions and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) induced cholesterol efflux were significantly reduced (19.0%±1.2% vs. 12.8%±3.6%, t=2.532, P=0.016) in the diabetic subjects whereas ABCA1 expressions and apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1) induced cholesterol efflux were comparable (12.0%±1.2% vs. 10.2%±2.3%, t=1.771, P=0.109) between the diabetic patients and healthy subjects. The mRNA expressions of LXRα and LXRβ had no changes between the diabetes subjects and healthy controls (t=1.025, P=0.315; t=-0.531, P=0.600). The LXR-LXRE DNA-protein complex detected by EMSA were also similar between the diabetes subjects and healthy controls (t=1.483, P=0.164). Moreover, ABCG1 expressions were not altered by inhibition of LXRα/β siRNA (t=2.143, P=0.061). CONCLUSION Our data indicated that expression of ABCG1 and HDL induced cholesterol efflux were reduced in type 2 diabetic patients. However, the LXR mRNA expression and binding complex of LXR and ABCG1 promoter were not changed. The impairment of cholesterol efflux and ABCG1 gene expressions might be regulated via an LXR-independent pathway.

Abstract
RATIONALE Limonin and obacunone are two major limonoids distributed in the Rutaceae and Meliaceae families. Their defined anti-tumor activity is closely connected with the furan ring and the multi-carbonyls in their structures. In vivo and in vitro biotransformations may influence their structures and further change their effects. The metabolic profiles of limonin and obacunone have not been studied previously. In order to clarify their in vivo and in vitro metabolism, a comparative investigation of their metabolic pathways in five different species of liver microsomes and zebrafish was carried out. METHODS In the present study, ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC/HRMS) and related electrospray ionization (ESI) tandem mass spectrometric (MS/MS) dissociation of limonin and obacunone were applied for the analysis. Each metabolite was identified by its accurate mass data. Human liver microsomes (HLMs), monkey liver microsomes (MLMs), dog liver microsomes (DLMs), rat liver microsomes (RLMs), mice liver microsomes (XLMs) and zebrafish were included in the biotransformations. RESULTS One phase I metabolite of limonin (M1-1) and two phase I metabolites of obacunone (M2-1, M2-2) were identified by accurate mass measurement and MS/MS fragmentation behaviors. A reduction reaction was regarded as the major metabolic pathway of limonoids in liver microsomes. The reduction reaction site of M1-1 and M2-1 was at the C-16 carbonyl, while for M2-2 it was at C-7. M1-1 was the major and unique metabolite of limonin and the metabolic rate of limonin varied from 11.5% to 17.8% in liver microsomes (LMs). M2-2 was the main metabolite of obacunone in LMs and zebrafish. M1-1 and M2-1 were only detected in LMs while M2-2 was found in both LMs and zebrafish incubation systems. The metabolic rate of obacunone varied from 2.5% to 19.1% and the content of M2-2 was about five times higher than that of M2-1. CONCLUSIONS The ESI-HR-MS/MS fragmentation behaviors of limonin and obacunone were investigated for the first time. A qualitative and semi-quantitative method was developed for the in vivo and in vitro metabolic analysis of limonin and obacunone. The results demonstrated that the metabolic processes of limonin and obacunone were different between LMs and zebrafish. However, both of these two parent compounds presented similar metabolic processes in five species of LMs. This was caused by the metabolic difference between mammals and fish or because limonin probably cannot be absorbed in zebrafish.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES Several studies have suggested differential health effects in relation to different meat composition in Western population. The purpose of the study was to examine secular trends in meat and seafood consumption patterns among Chinese adults between 1991 and 2011. SUBJECTS/METHODS Our longitudinal data are from 21,144 adults aged 18-75 in the China Health and Nutrition Survey, prospective cohort study. We assessed the intakes of meat and subtypes with three 24-h dietary recalls. We conducted multilevel mixed-effect logistic and linear regression models to examine meat consumption dynamics. RESULTS The proportions of Chinese adults who consumed red meat, poultry and seafood increased from 65.7% in 1991 to 86.1% in 2011, from 7.5 to 20.9% and from 27.4 to 37.8%, respectively. With rapid decrease in meat intakes since 2009, the intakes of total meat, red meat, poultry and seafood among their consumers were 86.7 g/day, 86.4 g/day, 71.0 g/day and 70.3 g/day in 2011, respectively, which were just slightly higher compared with those in 1991. Fatty fresh pork has been predominantly component of total meat overtime, which consituted 54.0% of total meat intake, 80.0% of fresh red meat intake and 98.7% of fatty fresh red meat intake in 2011. CONCLUSION Over the past two decades, meat consumption patterns of Chinese adults have been characterized by having a predominant intake of fatty fresh pork, suboptimal intakes of seafood and increased proportion of adults having excessive intakes of red meat and poultry overtime.

Abstract
To identify the active components in Bufo melanostictus Schneider and clarify the difference between fresh and dried Venenum Bufonis, a UPLC-Orbitrap MS method has been established. The separation was performed with gradient elution of acetonitrile and water (with 0.1% formic acid) as mobile phase. By comparing their retention time and high resolution mass data of Venenum Bufonis extracts, 39 effective components were primarily identified by MS/MS analysis in positive ion mode. Twenty-six of them were bufadienolides. There were significant differences in the main composition between fresh and dried Venenum Bufonis. There are fewer bufadienolides in fresh toad venom.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the safety and feasibility of N-butyl cyanoacrylate (N-BCA) embolization of percutaneous transhepatic portal venous access tract and to establish an appropriate technique. METHODS 40 consecutive patients underwent percutaneous transhepatic portal venous intervention for various reasons. Embolization of percutaneous transhepatic portal venous access tract was performed after the procedure in all of the patients using N-BCA and Lipiodol® (Lipiodol Ultra Fluide; Laboratoire Guerbet, Aulnay-sous-Bois, France) mixture. Immediate ultrasonography and fluoroscopy were performed to evaluate perihepatic haematoma formation and unintended embolization of more than one segmental portal vein. Follow-up CT was performed, and haemoglobin and haematocrit levels were checked to evaluate the presence of bleeding. RESULTS Immediate haemostasis was achieved in all of the patients, without development of perihepatic haematoma or unintended embolization of more than one segmental portal vein. Complete embolization of percutaneous access tract was confirmed in 39 out of 40 patients by CT. Seven patients showed decreased haemoglobin and haematocrit levels. Other complications included mild pain at the site of embolization and mild fever, which resolved after conservative management. 16 patients died during the follow-up period owing to progression of the underlying disease. CONCLUSION Embolization of percutaneous transhepatic portal vein access tract with N-BCA is feasible and technically safe. With the appropriate technique, N-BCA can be safely used as an alternate embolic material since it is easy to use and inexpensive compared with other embolic materials. ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE This is the first study to investigate the efficacy of N-BCA for percutaneous transhepatic portal venous access tract embolization.

Abstract
In order to clarify the metabolism pathways of scandoside methyl ester, the analysis of metabolites profiling in four kinds of liver microsomes was performed by using an ultra-performance liquid chromatography/ electrospray-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-MS). The data obtained from the 0 h-incubation and the 2 h-incubation were compared and analyzed. After incubation, 5 metabolites of scandoside methyl ester were found in rat, Beagles, rhesus monkey and human liver microsome. The results showed that scandoside methyl ester's major metabolic pathway in the liver microsomes is hydrolysis, oxidation and reduction reactions, and there are certain kinds differences between species. The study provides a research base for further research about iridoid compounds in vivo metabolic pathways.

Abstract
Stratospheric water vapour is a powerful greenhouse gas. The longest available record from balloon observations over Boulder, Colorado, USA shows increases in stratospheric water vapour concentrations that cannot be fully explained by observed changes in the main drivers, tropical tropopause temperatures and methane. Satellite observations could help resolve the issue, but constructing a reliable long-term data record from individual short satellite records is challenging. Here we present an approach to merge satellite data sets with the help of a chemistry-climate model nudged to observed meteorology. We use the models' water vapour as a transfer function between data sets that overcomes issues arising from instrument drift and short overlap periods. In the lower stratosphere, our water vapour record extends back to 1988 and water vapour concentrations largely follow tropical tropopause temperatures. Lower and mid-stratospheric long-term trends are negative, and the trends from Boulder are shown not to be globally representative. In the upper stratosphere, our record extends back to 1986 and shows positive long-term trends. The altitudinal differences in the trends are explained by methane oxidation together with a strengthened lower-stratospheric and a weakened upper-stratospheric circulation inferred by this analysis. Our results call into question previous estimates of surface radiative forcing based on presumed global long-term increases in water vapour concentrations in the lower stratosphere.
