Abstract
We report herein the synthesis of highly substituted and stereochemically well-defined vinylbenziodoxole (VBX) derivatives through hydrochlorination and iodochlorination of ethynylbenziodoxoles. The hydrochlorination is achieved using pyridine hydrochloride as an HCl source in an anti-fashion under mild, open-air conditions to afford a 2-chlorinated VBX product, which serves as a useful building block for the stereoselective synthesis of trisubstituted alkenes. Meanwhile, iodochlorination with iodine monochloride proceeds in an unusual syn-pathway, stereoselectively affording a tetrasubstituted VBX derivative.

Abstract
Iodine-promoted direct diamination of α,β-unsaturated ketone to form two C-N bonds has been developed starting from chalcone and secondary amine. This reaction was performed in THF at 50 °C in the presence of I2 and K2 CO3. The protocol is metal-free, operationally simple and carried out under mild conditions, providing an effective new way for directing diamination reactions.

Abstract
A four-component reaction for electrophilic chloro(ω-alkoxy)lation of alkenes has been described. The stable chloro-iodine(iii) reagent and SOCl2 were used as electrophilic and nucleophilic chlorine sources, respectively. This approach provides a straightforward way to synthesize various useful β-chloro ω-chloroalkyl ethers from a wide range of alkenes, including electron-deficient, aromatic and unactivated alkenes. The synthetic applications of this approach were also explored in some useful transformations.

Abstract
A CuCl catalyzed C-N cross-coupling reaction using commercially available 1H-indazoles with diaryliodonium salts is described. The methodology features ample structural versatility, affording 2-substituted-2H-indazole in good yields and complete N(2)-regiocontrol. Furthermore, the utility of the reaction was demonstrated in the synthesis of a known estrogen receptor β agonist. Mechanistic studies using density functional theory calculations suggested that the complete regioselectivity can be attributed to the only weak base TfO- in our system which could not deprotonate indazoles, and the catalyst oxidation process would be the rate-determining step.

Abstract
An efficient Rh2(II,II)-catalyzed reaction has been developed under mild conditions. This synthetic method proceeds through iodination/oxidation of readily available isoquinolinium iodide salts under aerobic conditions with good to excellent yields. 4-Iodoisoquinolin-1(2 H)-ones are important building blocks for biologically and medicinally important compounds. The developed methodology was applied to the gram-scale synthesis of a key intermediate in the synthesis of the CRTH2 antagonist CRA-680.

Abstract
This study provides a direct, sustainable and eco-friendly method for the synthesis of various sulfonamides via the sulfonylation of sulfonyl hydrazides with tert-amines. The method utilizes sulfonyl hydrazides to oxidize and couple with tertiary amines through selective cleavage of C–N bonds. In this reaction, molecular iodine was used as the catalyst and t-butyl hydroperoxide was used as the oxidant. Sustainable and eco-friendly method for the synthesis of various sulfonamides.![]()

Abstract
A practical method has been developed for the conversion of alkenes to β-keto/hydroxyl sulfones by their reaction with sulfonyl hydrazides under metal-free conditions. This reaction proceeds through the oxidative addition of alkenes by sulfonyl radicals that are generated by visible-light induced oxidation of sulfonyl hydrazides. Notaly the reaction uses O2 as the terminal oxidant, instead of metal catalysts or oxidants like TBHP, leading to H2O and N2 as the clean by-products. The key features of this reaction include readily available reagents, mild reaction conditions and broad substrate scope.

Abstract
A strategy for C-H functionalization of arenes and heteroarenes has been developed to allow site-selective incorporation of various anions, including Cl, Br, OMs, OTs, and OTf. This approach is enabled by in situ generation of reactive, non-symmetric iodanes by combining anions and bench-stable PhI(OAc)2. The utility of this mechanism is demonstrated via para-selective chlorination of medicinally relevant arenes, as well as site-selective C-H chlorination of heteroarenes. Spectroscopic, computational, and competition experiments describe the unique nature, reactivity, and selectivity of these transient, unsymmetrical iodanes.

Abstract
The development of mild and practical methods for the γ-arylation of carbonyl compounds is an ongoing challenge in organic synthesis. The first formal γ-arylation of carbonyl compounds via radical relay cross-coupling of α-bromocarbonyl precursors with boronic acids in the presence of alkenes is reported. This directing-group-free protocol allows for the rapid and straightforward access to a wide range of γ-arylated esters, ketones, and amides under ambient conditions with excellent functional group tolerance.

Abstract
A transition-metal-free radical 1,2-amidoalkynylation of unactivated alkenes is presented. α-Amido-oxy acids were used as amidyl radical precursors, which were oxidized by an organic photoredox catalyst (4CzlPN). The electrophilic N-radicals chemoselectively reacted with various aliphatic alkenes and the adduct radicals were then trapped by ethynylbenziodoxolone (EBX) reagents to eventually provide the amidoalkynylation products. These transformations, which were conducted under practical and mild conditions, showed high functional group tolerance and broad substrate scope. Mechanistic studies supported the radical nature of these cascades.

Abstract
We developed a practical chlorodifluoromethylation reaction mediated by diacyl peroxide generated in situ from chlorodifluoroacetic anhydride. Allylic and amino-chlorodifluoromethylations of alkenes proceeded well with the combination of this reagent, Cu(ii) catalyst and a pyridine additive. Carbo- and aromatic chlorodifluoromethylations proceeded under metal-free conditions.

Abstract
We present the chemoselective synthesis of 1-(iodoethynyl)-4-methylbenzene, 1-(1,2-diiodovinyl)-4-methylbenzene, and 1-methyl-4-(1,2,2-triiodovinyl)benzene as representative examples for the practical chemoselective preparation of 1-iodoalkynes, 1,2-diiodoalkenes, and 1,1,2-triiodoalkenes from the chemoselective iodination of terminal alkynes mediated by hypervalent-iodine reagents. The chemoselectivity was confirmed by using p-tolylethyne as a model substrate to screen a variety of iodine sources and/or the hypervalent-iodine reagents. A combination of tetrabutylammonium iodide (TBAI) and (diacetoxyiodo)benzene (PIDA) selectively generates 1-iodoalkynes, while a combination of KI and PIDA generates 1,2-diiodoalkenes. A one-pot synthesis based on both TBAI-PIDA and KI-PIDA yields the corresponding 1,1,2-triiodoalkenes. These protocols were subsequently applied to the synthesis of synthetically important aromatic and aliphatic 1-iodoalkynes, 1,2-diiodoalkenes, and 1,1,2-triiodoalkenes, which were obtained in good yield with excellent chemoselectivity.

Abstract
A metal‐free and direct alkene C−H cyanation is described. Directing groups are not required and the mechanism involves electrophilic activation of the alkene by a cyano iodine(III) species generated in situ from a [bis(trifluoroacetoxy)iodo]arene and trimethylsilyl cyanide as the cyanide source. This C−H functionalization can be conducted on gram scale, and for noncyclic 1,1‐ and 1,2‐disubstuted alkenes high stereoselectivity is achieved, thus rendering the method highly valuable.
