Abstract
Significant improvements in treatments for children with cancer have resulted in a growing population of childhood cancer survivors who may face long-term adverse outcomes. Here, we aimed to diagnose high-dose methotrexate-induced brain injury on [18F]FDG PET/MRI and correlate the results with cognitive impairment identified by neurocognitive testing in pediatric cancer survivors. Methods: In this prospective, single-center pilot study, 10 children and young adults with sarcoma (n = 5), lymphoma (n = 4), or leukemia (n = 1) underwent dedicated brain [18F]FDG PET/MRI and a 2-h expert neuropsychologic evaluation on the same day, including the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence, second edition, for intellectual functioning; Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System (DKEFS) for executive functioning; and Wide Range Assessment of Memory and Learning, second edition (WRAML), for verbal and visual memory. Using PMOD software, we measured the SUVmean, cortical thickness, mean cerebral blood flow (CBFmean), and mean apparent diffusion coefficient of 3 different cortical regions (prefrontal cortex, cingulate gyrus, and hippocampus) that are routinely involved during the above-specified neurocognitive testing. Standardized scores of different measures were converted to z scores. Pairs of multivariable regression models (one for z scores < 0 and one for z scores > 0) were fitted for each brain region, imaging measure, and test score. Heteroscedasticity regression models were used to account for heterogeneity in variances between brain regions and to adjust for clustering within patients. Results: The regression analysis showed a significant correlation between the SUVmean of the prefrontal cortex and cingulum and DKEFS-sequential tracking (DKEFS-TM4) z scores (P = 0.003 and P = 0.012, respectively). The SUVmean of the hippocampus did not correlate with DKEFS-TM4 z scores (P = 0.111). The SUVmean for any evaluated brain regions did not correlate significantly with WRAML-visual memory (WRAML-VIS) z scores. CBFmean showed a positive correlation with SUVmean (r = 0.56, P = 0.01). The CBFmean of the cingulum, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex correlated significantly with DKEFS-TM4 (all P < 0.001). In addition, the hippocampal CBFmean correlated significantly with negative WRAML-VIS z scores (P = 0.003). Conclusion: High-dose methotrexate-induced brain injury can manifest as a reduction in glucose metabolism and blood flow in specific brain areas, which can be detected with [18F]FDG PET/MRI. The SUVmean and CBFmean of the prefrontal cortex and cingulum can serve as quantitative measures for detecting executive functioning problems. Hippocampal CBFmean could also be useful for monitoring memory problems.

Abstract
PURPOSE Although the physiological late effects of childhood cancer survivors are more obvious, appropriate assessment of psychosocial effects is needed. Therefore, it was aimed to develop a scale to evaluate psychosocial late effects in cancer survivors and to test its validity and reliability. DESIGN AND METHODS This methodological study was conducted with 100 children and adolescents who survived were collected at the oncology center in the south of Türkiye in 2022. Data were collected with the "Personal Information Form" and "Pediatric Cancer Survivors Psychosocial Late Effects Scale (PCSLES)" IBM SPSS 24.0 and IBM AMOS 24.0 software programs were used for data analysis, and descriptive statistics were used to analyze numeric variables. Exploration and confirmatory factor analyses were performed to determine the scale's factorial structure. RESULTS The factorial analysis was used to test the structural validity of the scale. A four-factor structure consisting of 17 items was developed. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient for "1" was 0.89, "2" was 0.87, "3" was 0.80, "4" was 0.82 and the total score was 0.92. Fit indices resulting from the study were χ2/SD: 1.497, root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA): 0.071, goodnessof-fit index (GFI): 0.85, comparative-of-fit index (CFI): 0.94, and normed fit index (NFI): 0.85. CONCLUSION The scale is a valid and reliable scale that can be used to determine psychosocial late effects in pediatric cancer patients. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS Utilizing the PCSLES can assist in identifying the psychosocial symptoms of child survivors/adolescents and facilitate the planning of appropriate interventions.

Abstract
Approximately 1 in 640 adults between 20 and 40 years of age is a survivor of childhood cancer. However, survival has often come at the expense of increased risk of long-term complications, including chronic health conditions and higher mortality rates. Similarly, long-term survivors of childhood non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) experience significant morbidity and mortality related to prior cancer treatments, highlighting the importance of primary and secondary prevention strategies to mitigate late toxicity. As a result, effective treatment regimens for pediatric NHL have evolved to reduce both short- and long-term toxicity through cumulative dose reductions and elimination of radiation. The establishment of effective regimens facilitates shared decision-making opportunities for frontline treatment selection that considers efficacy, acute toxicity, convenience, and late effects of treatments. The current review seeks to merge current frontline treatment regimens with survivorship guidelines to enhance understanding of potential long-term health risks to facilitate best treatment practices.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Neurocognitive deficits are common among children who receive central nervous system (CNS)-directed therapy for childhood cancer. Parents report that they lack information from and communication with oncology providers about neurocognitive impacts of therapy. Furthermore, oncology providers report they lack training and institutional support to appropriately address the neurocognitive needs of these patients/families. METHODS A parent/provider stakeholder informed, quality improvement (QI) project was conducted to educate providers about neurocognitive impacts, increase parent/provider communication, and improve adherence to supportive care guidelines for neuropsychological assessment for children receiving CNS-directed therapy. A 1-h Continuing Medical Education (CME) course was developed to educate providers about neurocognitive impacts and their relation to schooling. A provider-focused electronic medical record (EMR) strategy was used to deliver parent stakeholder-informed return-to-school "roadmaps," with prompts to scaffold parent/provider communication and enhance documentation of findings. RESULTS Hospital-based CME sessions were attended by 76% (41 out of 54) of providers from our institution. Among the 34 who completed both pretest and posttest, the mean knowledge score improved from 56% at pretest to 74% at posttest. Compliance with the EMR strategy was 80% and there was a 42% increase in neuropsychological assessment referrals. CONCLUSIONS We conclude that this QI project is an example of a successful parent/provider stakeholder collaboration that achieved demonstrable positive change in the areas of provider knowledge, patient/provider communication, and alignment of neuropsychological assessment referrals with existing guidelines. Our results confirm that improving knowledge, communication, and compliance with neuropsychological standards of care is possible with this evidence-based approach.

Abstract
Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is an aggressive form of B cell lymphoma that can affect children and adults. The study of BL led to the identification of the first recurrent chromosomal aberration in lymphoma, t(8;14)(q24;q32), and subsequent discovery of the central role of MYC and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in tumorigenesis. Most patients with BL are cured with chemotherapy but those with relapsed or refractory disease usually die of lymphoma. Historically, endemic BL, non-endemic sporadic BL and the immunodeficiency-associated BL have been recognized, but differentiation of these epidemiological variants is confounded by the frequency of EBV positivity. Subtyping into EBV+ and EBV- BL might better describe the biological heterogeneity of the disease. Phenotypically resembling germinal centre B cells, all types of BL are characterized by dysregulation of MYC due to enhancer activation via juxtaposition with one of the three immunoglobulin loci. Additional molecular changes commonly affect B cell receptor and sphingosine-1-phosphate signalling, proliferation, survival and SWI-SNF chromatin remodelling. BL is diagnosed on the basis of morphology and high expression of MYC. BL can be effectively treated in children and adolescents with short durations of high dose-intensity multiagent chemotherapy regimens. Adults are more susceptible to toxic effects but are effectively treated with chemotherapy, including modified versions of paediatric regimens. The outcomes in patients with BL are good in high-income countries with low mortality and few late effects, but in low-income and middle-income countries, BL is diagnosed late and is usually treated with less-effective regimens affecting the overall good outcomes in patients with this lymphoma.

Abstract
Educational achievement and employment outcomes are critical indicators of quality of life in survivors of childhood, adolescent, and young adult (CAYA) cancer. This review is aimed at providing an evidence-based clinical practice guideline (CPG) with internationally harmonized recommendations for the surveillance of education and employment outcomes in survivors of CAYA cancer diagnosed before the age of 30 years. The CPG was developed by a multidisciplinary panel under the umbrella of the International Late Effects of Childhood Cancer Guideline Harmonization Group. After evaluating concordances and discordances of 4 existing CPGs, the authors performed a systematic literature search through February 2021. They screened articles for eligibility, assessed quality, and extracted and summarized the data from included articles. The authors formulated recommendations based on the evidence and clinical judgment. There were 3930 articles identified, and 83 of them, originating from 17 countries, were included. On a group level, survivors were more likely to have lower educational achievement and more likely to be unemployed than comparisons. Key risk factors for poor outcomes included receiving a primary diagnosis of a central nervous system tumor and experiencing late effects. The authors recommend that health care providers be aware of the risk of educational and employment problems, implement regular surveillance, and refer survivors to specialists if problems are identified. In conclusion, this review presents a harmonized CPG that aims to facilitate evidence-based care, positively influence education and employment outcomes, and ultimately minimize the burden of disease and treatment-related late adverse effects for survivors of CAYA cancers. LAY SUMMARY: A multidisciplinary panel has developed guidelines for the surveillance of education and employment outcomes among survivors of childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer. On the basis of evidence showing that survivors are at risk for lower educational achievement and unemployment, it is recommended that all survivors receive regular screening for educational and employment outcomes.

Abstract
Childhood cancer survivors have a high risk for premature cardiovascular diseases, mainly due to cardiotoxic cancer treatments such as doxorubicin (DOX). Psychosocial stress is a significant cardiovascular risk factor and an enormous burden in childhood cancer survivors. Although observational studies suggest that psychosocial stress is associated with cardiovascular complications in cancer survivors, there is no translationally relevant animal model to study this interaction. We established a "two-hit" model in which juvenile mice were administered DOX (4 mg/kg/week for 3 weeks), paired to a validated model of chronic subordination stress (CSS) 5 weeks later upon reaching adulthood. Blood pressure, heart rate, and activity were monitored by radio-telemetry. At the end of CSS experiment, cardiac function was assessed by echocardiography. Cardiac fibrosis and inflammation were assessed by histopathologic analysis. Gene expressions of inflammatory and fibrotic markers were determined by PCR. Juvenile exposure to DOX followed by adult-onset CSS caused cardiac fibrosis and inflammation as evident by histopathologic findings and upregulated gene expression of multiple inflammatory and fibrotic markers. Intriguingly, juvenile exposure to DOX blunted CSS-induced hypertension but not CSS-induced tachycardia. There were no significant differences in cardiac function parameters among all groups, but juvenile exposure to DOX abrogated the hypertrophic response to CSS. In conclusion, we established a translationally relevant mouse model of juvenile DOX-induced cardiotoxicity that predisposes to adult-onset stress-induced adverse cardiac remodeling. Psychosocial stress should be taken into consideration in cardiovascular risk stratification of DOX-treated childhood cancer survivors.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Nowadays, more than 80% of newly diagnosed classical Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) patients can be cured and become long-term survivors due to risk and response-adapted treatment strategies. A well-known side effect is cognitive dysfunction that appears in HL patients after chemotherapy. In the present study, we aimed to measure cognitive dysfunction in our HL patients in this study and to find potential correlations between patient-related factors, the signs and symptoms of their diseases, or therapeutic factors. METHODS We carried out a computer-assisted assessment (CANTAB) of cognitive dysfunction in 118 patients. We examined the domains of visual memory, attention, working memory, and planning. RESULTS The median age of 64 females and 54 males at diagnosis was 29 (13-74) and 41 (21-81) years at the completion of CANTAB. Fifty-two percent of all patients showed cognitive impairment. Attention was impaired in 35% of patients, the working memory and planning were impaired in 25%, while visual memory was affected in 22%. All the three functions showed a significant association with inactive employments status. A close correlation was found between visual memory/working memory and planning, higher age at HL diagnosis or the completion of CANTAB test, and disability pensioner status. DISCUSSION Our investigation suggests that patients with inactive employment status and older age require enhanced attention. Their cognitive function and quality of life can be improved if they return to work or, if it is not possible, they receive a cognitive training.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the quality of life and related demographic factors in long-term survivors of childhood non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). METHODS A retrospective analysis was performed on the medical and demographic data of the NHL patients who received treatment in the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and achieved long-term survival at follow-up, with an age of <18 years at initial diagnosis and a present age of ≥18 years. A questionnaire survey was performed using 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) and the symptom subscale of the Chinese version of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30 (QLQ-C30). The health status of long-term survivors of NHL was evaluated by comparing the scores of various dimensions of the SF-36 scale of general adult population in the United States (American norm) and those of the SF-36 scale of general adult population in Hong Kong, China (Hong Kong norm). The correlation between the score of each dimension of the scale and demographic characteristics was evaluated. The symptoms of long-term NHL survivors were evaluated according to the score of QLQ-C30 scale. RESULTS A total of 23 patients with NHL with complete follow-up data were enrolled. The pathological types included diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in 10 patients, Burkitt lymphoma in 4 patients, T-cell lymphoblastoma in 5 patients, B-cell lymphoblastoma in 3 patients, and natural killer/T cell lymphoma in 1 patient. All patients received the chemotherapy regimen containing anthracyclines and alkylating agents. The median present age was 26.2 years (range: 16.9-55.8 years), and the median age at initial diagnosis was 10.4 years (range: 2.4-17.6 years). Among the 23 patients, 6 were married and had children and 2 had chronic diseases. There was no significant difference between the long-term survivors and the US norm in role physical, general health, role-emotional, and mental health (P>0.05), while the long-term survivors had significantly better scores of the other dimensions than the US norm (P<0.05). Similar results were obtained for the comparison between the long-term survivors and the China Hong Kong norm. Age at initial diagnosis was negatively correlated with the scores of social functioning, role physical, and general health in the SF-36 scale (P<0.05), and the present age of patients was positively correlated with the score of physical functioning and was negatively correlated with the score of general health (P<0.05). The urban and rural distribution of patients was related to the general health status (P<0.05). In addition, the long-term survivors of childhood NHL had relatively low scores of the symptom domain of QLQ-C30, and few moderate or severe symptoms were found. CONCLUSIONS Long-term survivors of childhood NHL tend to have a good overall health status, with no significant differences compared with the general population. Age at initial diagnosis is the main demographic factor that affects patients' quality of life. Citation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND With high survival rates for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), long-term quality of life is a prominent consideration in treatment. We concurrently evaluated cognition, behavior, and quality of life in child and adolescent ALL survivors and determined associations between them. METHODS The sample included 83 controls (mean age: 12.5 years) and 71 ALL survivors (mean age: 11.9 years, mean age at diagnosis: 3.8 years). Participants completed measures of general intellectual abilities, math achievement, and fine motor skills. Parents and teachers completed a survey assessing child participants' cognitive, behavioral, and emotional function. Parents additionally completed a survey about their child's quality of life. RESULTS Survivors had lower scores on measures of working memory, processing speed, timed math, and fine motor skills (effect size 0.5-1, p < 0.001). Parents identified more problems with executive function and learning in survivors than controls (effect size > 0.7, p < 0.001), and indicated a lower quality of life in all categories evaluated (effect size > 0.7, p < 10-4). Reduced quality of life was associated with lower math achievement scores and with inattention and executive function problems. CONCLUSIONS ALL survivors experience diffuse cognitive, behavioral, and motor impairments, which are associated with reduced quality of life. These findings underscore the need to address these challenges in ALL survivors. IMPACT Compared with cancer-free peers, parents of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia survivors treated with chemotherapy only reported reduced quality of life. Math difficulties and behavioral problems increased the risk for reduced quality of life. Reduced quality of life is associated with mild cognitive and behavioral difficulties, suggesting that even relatively mild impairments have broad implications for ALL survivors. Screening and early intervention targeting cognitive and behavioral function may enhance quality of life for ALL survivors.

Abstract
Purpose This study aimed to increase our understanding of the psychosocial well-being of young adult childhood cancer survivors (YACCS) as well as the positive and negative impacts of cancer. Methods YACCS (aged 18–30, diagnosed ≤ 18, time since diagnosis ≥ 5 years) cross-sectionally filled out the “Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory Young Adults” (PedsQL-YA), “Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale” (HADS), and “Checklist Individual Strengths” (CIS-20R) to measure fatigue and survivor-specific “Impact of Cancer - Childhood Survivors” (IOC-CS), which measures the long-term impact of childhood cancer in several domains. Descriptive statistics (IOC-CS), logistic regression (HADS, CIS-20R), and ANOVA (PedsQL-YA, HADS, CIS-20R) were performed. Associations between positive and negative impacts of childhood cancer and psychosocial outcomes were examined with linear regression analyses. Results YACCS (N = 151, 61.6% female, mean age 24.1 ± 3.6, mean time since diagnosis 13.6 ± 3.8) reported lower HRQOL (− .4 ≤ d ≤ − .5, p ≤ .001) and more anxiety (d = .4, p ≤ .001), depression (d = .4, p ≤ .01), and fatigue (.3 ≤ d ≤ .5, p ≤ .001) than young adults from the general Dutch population. They were at an increased risk of experiencing (sub)clinical anxiety (OR = 1.8, p = .017). YACCS reported more impact on scales representing a positive rather than negative impact of CC. Various domains of impact of childhood cancer were related to psychosocial outcomes, especially “Life Challenges” (HRQOL β = − .18, anxiety β = .36, depression β = .29) and “Body & Health” (HRQOL β = .27, anxiety β = − .25, depression β = − .26, fatigue β = − .47). Conclusion YACCS are vulnerable to psychosocial difficulties, but they also experience positive long-term impacts of childhood cancer. Positive and negative impacts of childhood cancer were associated with psychosocial outcomes in YACCS. Screening of psychosocial outcomes and offering targeted interventions are necessary to optimize psychosocial long-term follow-up care for YACCS.

Most patients with childhood-onset complex regional pain syndrome continue to have some complex regional pain syndrome–related pain into young adulthood and have a lower health-related quality of life. Introduction: Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a neuropathic pain condition of unknown etiology. Little is known of long-term outcomes of young adults who were diagnosed with CRPS as children. Methods: In this study, surveys were mailed to adults who were treated for childhood CRPS at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital between 1994 and 2018. Completed surveys were analyzed for pain symptoms. Health-related quality-of-life surveys, the Optum SF-8, were analyzed based on norm-based scoring. Results: This study had a 50% response rate. Patients were treated with physical and occupational therapy, peripheral or sympathetic nerve blocks, medication for neuropathic pain, and psychotherapy. Sixty-eight percent of the subjects reported pain. Each 1-year increase in the patient's age at the time of CRPS diagnosis increased the odds of having at least mild pain as an adult by 61% (P = 0.005). Most patients had slightly lower quality-of-life scores than the US population average in both the mental component score (43.4, 95%, confidence interval 3.4) and the physical component score (44.4, 95%, confidence interval 3.3). Conclusions: Young adults in our sample had long-lasting pain symptoms. More than two-thirds of adult patients reported some degree of pain, and these patients had a lower quality of life. Encouraging was that the majority did not have CRPS spreading to other areas, and their pain did not warrant further treatment. Understanding long-term outcomes may lead to risk stratification earlier in the disease to improve future quality of life.

Abstract
Childhood cancer survivors are at higher risk of developing neurocognitive deficits due to the intensive treatment they received at an early age. Most studies on childhood cancer survivorship have so far focused on the Western populations. Due to the ethnic, genetic, environmental, and cultural differences, clinical data of the Western populations may not be representative of Asian countries. This scoping review systematically summarized the existing clinical evidence of the neurocognitive impairment of Asian childhood cancer survivors. We searched the Embase and Medline databases for studies assessing the neurocognitive functions of survivors in Asia, who were diagnosed with cancer before the age of 19 and completed active treatment. The literature search identified 13 studies involving 2212 participants from five Asian countries: South Korea (n = 4, 30.8%), Taiwan (n = 3, 23.1%), Japan (n = 3, 23.1%), Hong Kong (n = 2, 15.4%), and Thailand (n = 1, 7.7%). The included studies focused on CNS tumors (n = 10, 76.9%), hematological malignancies (n = 7, 53.8%), or heterogeneous cancer diagnoses (n = 3, 23.1%). Collectively, mild-to-moderate impairment in intelligence was observed in 10.0 to 42.8% of survivors, which seemed higher than the reported rate in Western survivors. We speculate that the ethnic and genetic variations in drug responses and susceptibility to adverse chronic toxicities may have contributed to the differences in the prevalence and severity of neurocognitive impairment between these two populations. To better understand the effects of culturally relevant and region-specific environmental risk factors on the post-treatment neurocognitive development in cancer survivors, a holistic approach that addresses the complex interactions between biological, physical, and psychosocial factors is needed. This will aid the development of effective intervention strategies to improve the functional and psychosocial outcomes of cancer survivors in Asian societies.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study sought to investigate the prevalence of self-reported cognitive impairment and its relation to illness and treatment characteristics and mental health in Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) survivors as cancer-related cognitive impairment has not been extensively studied in lymphoma survivors. METHODS One hundred fifteen HL and DLBCL survivors (mean age = 40.3 years, mean months since completed treatment = 29.6) completed questionnaires on executive function and mental health. We examined the prevalence of executive impairment and compared illness and treatment characteristics and mental health across survivors reporting impaired and non-impaired executive functioning using chi-square, Cochran-Armitage, and Mann-Whitney U tests. RESULTS We found that 39% reported executive impairment. Survivors reporting impaired executive functioning reported worse mental health (ps < .001) than survivors reporting non-impaired executive functioning. A larger proportion of the impaired group had received a high chemo dose compared to the non-impaired group although this result fell short of significance after adjustment for multiple comparisons (p = .017). CONCLUSIONS Self-reported cognitive impairment is prevalent in HL and DLBCL survivors and is associated with worse mental health and possibly high chemo dose. Future studies should investigate objective impairment and the possible dose-response relationship between chemo dose and cognitive impairment in lymphoma survivors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cognitive limitations are common after childhood cancer and require assessment and support in the medical and school setting. Pediatric oncology providers are tasked with educating families about the side effects of disease/treatment, and supporting families as they navigate the associated challenges. Despite this important role, little is known about the training, practice, and knowledge of providers in the domain of cognitive/school impacts. METHODS An online survey was emailed to Children's Oncology Group (COG) member physicians in the United States. The survey consisted of 42 questions about training and practice, and 4 knowledge questions about neurocognitive impacts and school supports. RESULTS Surveys were completed by 282 physicians representing 64% of COG institutions and a diverse group of experience and institution size. The pediatric oncologist was reported most frequently (93%) as the person at their institution to provide information to families on this topic, yet 54% reported receiving no specific training in this area and the majority (66%) reported to only "somewhat" understand the issues pediatric oncology patients face when returning to school. A minority reported available institutional guidelines (42%) or screening tools (19%) to assist in making referrals or assessments. Knowledge questions concerning health conditions qualifying children for school supports received the fewest correct answers. The majority (77%) thought more training would be helpful. CONCLUSIONS Additional training about cognitive impacts and schooling challenges associated with childhood cancer is needed to prepare providers to support parents/children. In addition, establishing policy guidelines and screening procedures may help support providers in providing care.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To the authors' knowledge, few studies to date have examined long-term neurocognitive outcomes in survivors of childhood soft-tissue sarcoma. METHODS A total of 150 survivors (41% of whom were female with a mean current age of 33 years [SD, 8.9 years] and a time since diagnosis of 24 years [SD, 8.7 years]) and 349 community controls (56% of whom were female with a mean current age of 35 years [SD, 10.2 years]) completed comprehensive neuropsychological testing, echocardiography, electrocardiography, pulmonary function tests, endocrine evaluation, and physical examination. Patient-reported outcomes of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and social attainment were collected. Survivors were compared with norms and controls on neurocognitive outcomes using general linear models, and on HRQOL and social attainment using modified Poisson models. The impacts of treatment and chronic health conditions on outcomes were examined using multivariable general linear models (effect size was expressed as unstandardized β estimates that reflected the unit of change from a mean of 0 and an SD of 1) and modified Poisson models (effect size expressed as relative risks). RESULTS Compared with controls and population norms, survivors demonstrated lower performance on measures of verbal reasoning (mean z score, -0.45 [SD, 1.15]; P < .001) mathematics (mean z score, -0.63 [SD, 1.07]; P < .001), and long-term memory (mean z score, -0.37 [SD, 1.14]; P < .001). Cumulative anthracycline exposure (per 100 mg/m2 ) was found to be associated with poorer verbal reasoning (β = -0.14 z scores; P = .04), reading (β = -0.09 z score; P = .04), and patient-reported vitality (relative risk, 1.32; 95% CI, 1.09-1.59). Neurologic and neurosensory chronic conditions were associated with poorer mathematics (neurologic conditions: β = -0.63 z score [P = 0.02]; and hearing impairment: β = -0.75 z scores [P < 0.01]). Better cognitive performance was associated with higher social attainment. CONCLUSIONS Long-term survivors of soft-tissue sarcoma are at risk of neurocognitive problems and poor HRQOL associated with anthracycline treatment and chronic health conditions.

Abstract
The 6th International Symposium on Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult (CAYA) Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, 26-29 September, 2018. This summary manuscript is a perspective on the presentations from the plenary scientific sessions, including wellness and survivorship, B-cell NHL, AYA lymphoma, translational NHL biology, lymphoma immunology, bone marrow transplantation and cell therapy, T/Natural Killer cell lymphoma, anaplastic large cell lymphoma, lymphoblastic lymphoma, novel lymphoma therapeutics and Hodgkin lymphoma. The symposium was attended by over 260 registrants from 42 different countries and included young, middle and senior investigators. Finally, the Angelo Rosolen, MD, Memorial Lecture was delivered by Alfred Reiter, MD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Potential neurocognitive dysfunction after chemotherapy is a worrisome long-term outcome. Our objective was to evaluate the effect on brain metabolism in pediatric patients with non-central nervous system cancer treated with chemotherapy by analyzing brain data from serial whole-body fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed-tomography (FDG-PET/CT) scans taken before and sequentially after therapy. METHODS Fourteen pediatric patients diagnosed with lymphoma and treated with systemic and prophylactic intrathecal chemotherapy were included. All patients had baseline pretreatment whole-body FDG-PET/CT and at least one post-therapy study preformed as part of standard surveillance. Brain positron emission tomography data were quantitatively analyzed for normalized fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in various brain regions. A generalized estimating equation approach was used to evaluate temporal changes after chemotherapy. RESULTS Median time of follow-up surveillance positron emission tomography-computed-tomography was 456 days after chemotherapy course. Various brain regions demonstrated significant changes in fluorodeoxyglucose uptake as a function of time passed since chemotherapy. Increased fluorodeoxyglucose uptake was noted in the parietal and cingulate cortexes. Decreased fluorodeoxyglucose uptake was demonstrated in deep gray matter nuclei and in the brainstem. CONCLUSIONS Our study provides novel insights into long-standing and progressive changes in regional glucose metabolism after chemotherapy in pediatric cancer population, lasting long after the end of therapy and reaching clinical remission. Expanding the utility of regular surveillance fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography to a detailed quantitative assessment of regional brain metabolism after chemotherapy can provide valuable information on individual chemotherapy-related neuromodulation and facilitate the development of strategies to minimize neurocognitive side effects.

Abstract
Progress in overall survival rates for childhood non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) can be largely attributed to effective development and conduct of a number of international treatment studies. Knowledge gained from these studies has shifted the treatment paradigm from a "one-size fits all" strategy to a histologically dependent approach. More specifically, many now adhere to a risk-stratified approach, prescribing cumulative doses and intensities of chemotherapeutic exposures based upon the aggressiveness of disease. Moreover, recognition that high cure rates could be achieved without the use of radiation has eliminated the use of this modality in frontline settings for the majority of newly diagnosed children. These changes have contributed to the emergence of a heterogeneous group of NHL survivors. As the number of NHL survivors continues to increase, providers will encounter a wide spectrum of individuals whose risk for long-term complications are accordingly diverse. The following review summarizes the existing literature surrounding late effects, such as chronic health conditions, functional and neurocognitive performance outcomes, and health-related quality of life, that are unique to NHL survivors, as well as those extrapolated from the broader childhood cancer survivor population.

Abstract
Recent research has demonstrated that survivors of childhood cancer are at risk for a myriad of late effects that affect physical and mental quality of life. We discuss the patterns and prevalence of neurocognitive problems commonly experienced by survivors of CNS tumors and acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the two most commonly researched cancer diagnoses. Research documenting the direct effects of tumor location and treatment type and intensity is presented, and patient characteristics that moderate outcomes (eg, age at diagnosis and sex) are discussed. Potential biologic mechanisms of neurotoxic treatment exposures, such as cranial irradiation and intrathecal and high-dose antimetabolite chemotherapy, are reviewed. Genetic, brain imaging, and neurochemical biomarkers of neurocognitive impairment are discussed. Long-term survivors of childhood cancer are also at risk for physical morbidity (eg, cardiac, pulmonary, endocrine) and problems with health behaviors (eg, sleep); research is reviewed that demonstrates these health problems contribute to neurocognitive impairment in survivors with or without exposure to neurotoxic therapies. We conclude this review with a discussion of literature supporting specific interventions that may be beneficial in the treatment of survivors who already experience neurocognitive impairment, as well as in the prevention of impairment manifestation.
