Abstract
Inflammation in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) has been linked to adverse clinical outcomes. A useful biomarker for measuring inflammation levels, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in the blood can be used to detect the presence of low-grade inflammation. This study sought to assess the predictive value of baseline hs-CRP levels for adverse clinical events in CAD patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). To investigate this topic, a meta-analysis was performed. We conducted a systematic search of PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library for original articles reporting the correlation between hs-CRP levels and adverse clinical events in CAD patients undergoing PCI. We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses guidelines and conducted a meta-analysis by extracting relevant data. Our pooled calculations yielded hazard ratios or odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals. A total of 28 studies comprising 60544 patients were included in this analysis. High baseline hs-CRP levels predicted increased risk for major adverse cardiac events ( P = 0.037), major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events ( P = 0.020), all-cause mortality ( P = 0.001), cardiovascular mortality ( P < 0.001), death and/or myocardial infarction ( P = 0.017) in patients, as well as restenosis ( P < 0.001). However, there was no association between elevated baseline hs-CRP levels and thrombosis. In conclusion, in CAD patients undergoing PCI, baseline hs-CRP levels are reliable predictors of major adverse cardiac events, major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events, all-cause mortality, cardiovascular mortality, death and/or myocardial infarction, and restenosis. Therefore, hs-CRP can effectively assist in prognosis determination for CAD patients undergoing PCI.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Carotid revascularization procedures, such as carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and carotid artery stenting (CAS), can lead to restenosis. Monitoring restenosis onset through biomarkers is crucial in clinical practice. This study aimed to evaluate inflammation biomarkers in CEA and CAS to determine their predictive value for restenosis risk postprocedure. METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical records of patients with carotid stenosis who underwent CEA or CAS over 1 year at the vascular surgery departments of an interuniversity center. Eligible asymptomatic patients with carotid stenosis (70%-99%) underwent revascularization. Differences between preprocedural and early postprocedural inflammation indices were assessed, and restenosis risk was evaluated using receiver operating curve analysis and logistic regression. RESULTS The cohort comprised 100 patients, 68 undergoing CEA and 32 undergoing CAS. Significant values were observed for inflammation ratios post-CEA: neutrophils to lymphocytes ratio (NLR) (P = 0.036), platelets to lymphocytes ratio (PLR) (P = 0.009), monocytes to lymphocytes ratio (MLR) (P < 0.001), systemic inflammation index (SII) (P = 0.024), systemic immune response index (SIRI) (P = 0.003), and aggregate inflammation response index (AISI) (P < 0.001). At 12-month follow-up, 12% of patients experienced restenosis; 50% were men and 50% women. Women showed a higher restenosis rate (26.1% vs 7.8%). Preintervention NLR (odds ratio {OR} [95% confidence interval {CI}] = 13.38 [1.88 to 95.44], P = 0.010) and SIRI (OR [95% CI] = 10.22 [2.65 to 39.43], P = 0.001) remained significantly associated with restenosis after adjusting for sex and smoking. CONCLUSIONS The study provided a predictive model for restenosis, identifying preintervention NLR and SIRI as independent predictors of restenosis at 12-month follow-up.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is an independent predictor of the severity of coronary heart disease and COVID-19. This study aims to assess the predictive ability of the NLR in patients with in-stent restenosis after COVID-19. MATERIALS AND METHODS a cross-sectional study included 931 patients who underwent repeated myocardial revascularization between May 2020 and May 2023. The 420 patients of the main group had in-stent restenosis, of which 162 patients had COVID-19 previously. The control group included 511 patients without stent restenosis (107 patients had COVID-19 previously). All reported events were verified by hospital electronic records from the Complex Medical Information System. RESULTS The mean values of the NLR were 2.51 and 2.68 in the study groups, respectively. A statistically significant positive relationship in both groups was found between the NLR and troponin, D-dimer, C-reactive protein, creatinine, ALT, and AST. A statistically significant positive relationship was found between NLR and myocardial infarction (MI) in patients of both groups (p = 0.004; p < 0.001, respectively) and a negative relationship with the ejection fraction (p = 0.001; p < 0.036, respectively). An evaluation of the predictive ability of the clinical and laboratory predictors of recurrent myocardial infarction shows a high degree of utility of this model. The area under the ROC curve for AUC for NLR was 0.664 with 95% CI from 0.627 to 0.700 (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS NLR is one of the significant factors for predicting the development of adverse outcomes in patients with revascularized myocardium after COVID-19.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to assess the predictive value of the Systemic Immune Inflammation Index (SII) in determining in-stent restenosis (ISR) likelihood in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). METHODS The study enrolled 903 ACS patients undergoing PCI, categorized into ISR (+) and ISR (-) groups based on control coronary angiography results. Demographic, clinical, laboratory, and angiographic-procedural characteristics were systematically compared. RESULTS The ISR (+) group encompassed 264 individuals (29.2%), while the ISR (-) group comprised 639 individuals (70.8%). Patients had a mean age of 55.8 ± 10.2 years, with 69% being male. The ISR (+) group had higher diabetes and smoking prevalence and notably larger stent dimensions. Lab parameters showed significantly elevated creatinine, total cholesterol, red cell distribution width, white blood cell and neutrophil counts, SII index and C-reactive protein (CRP) in the ISR (+) group, while lymphocyte levels were lower. Binary logistic regression identified stent diameter (odds ratio [OR]: 0.598, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.383-0.935; P = 0.024), stent length (OR: 1.166, 95% CI: 1.132-1.200; P < 0.001), creatinine (OR: 0.366, 95% CI: 0.166-0.771; P = 0.003), CRP (OR: 1.075, 95% CI: 1.042-1.110; P = 0.031), and SII index (OR: 1.014, 95% CI: 1.001-1.023; P < 0.001) as independent ISR predictors. CONCLUSION The SII index exhibits potential as a predictive marker for ISR in ACS patients post-PCI, indicating systemic inflammation and heightened restenosis risk. Integrating the SII index into risk models could identify high-risk patients for targeted interventions.

Abstract
The interleukin-17 (IL-17) has a crucial role during inflammation and has been associated with cardiovascular diseases, but its role in epigenetics is still poorly understood. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the DNA methylation status of the IL-17A gene promoter to establish whether it may represent a risk factor for subclinical atherosclerosis (SA) or clinical coronary artery disease (CAD). We included 38 patients with premature CAD (pCAD), 48 individuals with SA, and 43 healthy controls. Methylation in the CpG region of the IL-17A gene promoter was assessed via methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP). Individuals with SA showed increased methylation levels compared to healthy controls and pCAD patients, with p < 0.001 for both. Logistic regression analysis showed that high methylation levels represent a significant risk for SA (OR = 5.68, 95% CI = 2.38-14.03, p < 0.001). Moreover, low methylation levels of the IL-17A gene promoter DNA represent a risk for symptomatic pCAD when compared with SA patients (OR = 0.16, 95% CI = 0.06-0.41, p < 0.001). Our data suggest that the increased DNA methylation of the IL-17A gene promoter is a risk factor for SA but may be a protection factor for progression from SA to symptomatic CAD.

Abstract
Introduction Coronavirus infection is a risk factor for vascular thrombosis. This is of particular importance for patients undergoing myocardial revascularization since this infection can be a trigger for the formation of restenosis in the area of a previously implanted coronary stent. Understanding the risk factors for stent thrombosis and restenosis is of particular importance in individuals at risk for adverse outcomes. The rarity of such situations makes the present study unique. Objective Studying the peculiarities of restenosis and thrombosis of the coronary arteries in patients after coronavirus infection. Methods The study was performed in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of Emergency Hospital, Semey City, in 2021. We have examined the medical records of 10 consecutive patients with restenosis of coronary arteries after coronavirus infection and 10 matched-by-age patients with similar restenosis of coronary arteries who did not have coronavirus infection as a comparison group. To determine statistically significant differences between independent samples, we calculated the Mann-Whitney U test. Results The average age of patients was 65.7 years. Only one case was classified as early restenosis (within 8 days of previous revascularization), two cases represented late restenosis, and seven cases were very late restenoses. In 70% of cases, restenosis was localized in the left anterior descending artery, in 30% of cases, it was in the right coronary artery, and in 40% of cases, it was in the left circumflex artery. In comparison with patients who did not have a coronavirus infection, there were statistically significant differences regarding IgG (P < 0.001) and fibrinogen (P=0.019). Conclusion Patients with myocardial revascularization in the past have a higher risk of stent restenosis against the background of coronavirus infection due to excessive neointimal hyperplasia, hypercoagulability, increased inflammatory response, and endothelial dysfunction.

Abstract
Purpose This study aimed to identify potential diagnostic markers of restenosis after stent implantation and to determine their association with immune checkpoint, ferroptosis, and N6-methyladenosine (m6A). Patients and methods Microarray data were downloaded from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI: GSE46560 and GSE48060 datasets) to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between in-stent restenosis and no-restenosis samples. We then conducted systematic functional enrichment analyses of the DEGs based on Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), and further predicted the interactions of different proteins using the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes (STRING). We used the MCC and MCODE algorithms in the cytoHubba plug-in to screen three key genes in the network, and employed receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves to determine their diagnostic significance using a multiscale curvature classification algorithm. Next, we investigated the relationships between these target genes, immune checkpoint, ferroptosis, and m6A. Finally, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to verify the above results. Results We identified 62 upregulated genes and 243 downregulated genes. Based on GO, KEGG, and screening results, EEF1D, RPL36, and RPSA are promising genes for predicting restenosis. In addition, the methylation of YTHDF2, the ferroptosis-related gene GLS2, and the immune checkpoint-related gene CTLA4 were observed to be associated with restenosis. The qRT-PCR test confirmed that RPSA and RPL36 are useful diagnostic markers of the restenosis that can provide new insights for future studies on its occurrence and molecular mechanisms. Conclusion We found that RPSA and RPL36, as useful diagnostic markers of restenosis, can provide new insights for future studies on its occurrence and molecular mechanisms.

Abstract
A convincing deal of evidence supports the fact that severe psoriasis is associated with cardiovascular diseases. However, the precise underlying mechanisms linking psoriasis and cardiovascular diseases are not well defined. Psoriasis shares common pathophysiologic mechanisms with atherosclerosis and cardiovascular (CV) risk factors. In particular, polymorphism in the IL-23R and IL-23 genes, as well as other genes involved in lipid and fatty-acid metabolism, renin-angiotensin system and endothelial function, have been described in patients with psoriasis and with cardiovascular risk factors. Moreover, systemic inflammation in patients with psoriasis, including elevated serum proinflammatory cytokines (e.g., TNF-α, IL-17, and IL-23) may contribute to an increased risk of atherosclerosis, hypertension, alteration of serum lipid composition, and insulin resistance. The nonlinear and intricate interplay among various factors, impacting the molecular pathways in different cell types, probably contributes to the development of psoriasis and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Future research should, therefore, aim to fully unravel shared and differential molecular pathways underpinning the association between psoriasis and CVD.

Abstract
Background Systemic cytokines are elevated in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and on hemodialysis compared with the general population. However, whether cytokine levels interfere with vascular remodeling, increasing the risk of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) failure, remains unknown. Methods This is a case-control study of 64 patients who underwent surgery for AVF creation (32 with AVF maturation failure and 32 matching controls with successful maturation). A total of 74 cytokines, including chemokines, interferons, interleukins, and growth factors, were measured in preoperative plasma samples using multiplex assays. Sixty-two patients were included in the statistical analyses. Associations with AVF failure were assessed using paired comparisons and conditional logistic regressions accounting for paired strata. Results Seven cytokines were significantly higher in patients with AVF maturation failure than in matching controls (G-CSF, IL-6, MDC, RANTES, SDF-1α/β, TGFα, and TPO). Of these, G-CSF (odds ratio [OR]=1.71; 95% confidence interval [95% CI], 1.05 to 2.79 per 10 pg/ml), MDC (OR=1.60, 95% CI, 1.08 to 2.38 per 100 pg/ml), RANTES (OR=1.55, 95% CI, 1.10 to 2.17 per 100 pg/ml), SDF-1α/β (OR=1.18, 95% CI, 1.04 to 1.33 per 1000 pg/ml), and TGFα (OR=1.39, 95% CI 1.003, 1.92 per 1 pg/ml) showed an incremental association by logistic regression. Conclusions This study identified a profile of plasma cytokines associated with adverse maturation outcomes in AVFs. These findings may open the doors for future therapeutics and markers for risk stratification.

Abstract
To investigate the value of perioperative cytokine levels in predicting the risk for in-stent restenosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction. 452 patients with acute myocardial infarction admitted to our hospital between June 2018 and June 2020 were prospectively selected as subjects. All patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention. The baseline data of the patients were collected. Venous blood was taken before, 24 hours, and 3 days after the operation to detect the levels of related cytokines. Follow-up was performed for 1 year. The patients were assigned to restenosis and nonrestenosis groups according to the presence and absence of restenosis. Multivariate logistic analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of the risk for in-stent restenosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction. By July 1, 2021, 449 cases had been followed up. Of them, 44 cases suffered from in-stent restenosis and 405 cases did not affect in-stent restenosis. The incidence of in-stent restenosis was 9.80%. Before, 24 hours, and 3 days after the operation, the lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) level was significantly higher in the restenosis group than that in the nonrestenosis group. At 3 days after the operation, the interleukin 6 (IL-6) level was significantly higher in the restenosis group than that in the nonrestenosis group (P < 0.05). Multivariate logistic analysis displayed that Lp-PLA2 level preoperatively (OR = 1.048, 95% CI 1.029-1.068), Lp-PLA2 level 24 hours postoperatively (OR = 1.013, 95% CI 1.007-1.019), Lp-PLA2 level 3 days postoperatively (OR = 1.032, 95% CI 1.015-1.048), and IL-6 level 3 days postoperatively (OR = 1.020, 95% CI 1.000-1.040) were risk factors for in-stent restenosis (all P < 0.05). IL-6 and Lp-PLA2 levels can predict the risk for in-stent restenosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction in the perioperative period.

Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, and its prevalence is increasing due to the aging of societies. Atherosclerosis, a type of chronic inflammatory disease that occurs in arteries, is considered to be the main cause of cardiovascular diseases such as ischemic heart disease or stroke. In addition, the inflammatory response caused by atherosclerosis confers a significant effect on chronic inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and rheumatic arthritis. Here, we review the mechanism of action of the main causes of atherosclerosis such as plasma LDL level and inflammation; furthermore, we review the recent findings on the preclinical and clinical effects of antibodies that reduce the LDL level and those that neutralize the cytokines involved in inflammation. The apolipoprotein B autoantibody and anti-PCSK9 antibody reduced the level of LDL and plaques in animal studies, but failed to significantly reduce carotid inflammation plaques in clinical trials. The monoclonal antibodies against PCSK9 (alirocumab, evolocumab), which are used as a treatment for hyperlipidemia, lowered cholesterol levels and the incidence of cardiovascular diseases. Antibodies that neutralize inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-17, and IL-12/23) have shown promising but contradictory results and thus warrant further research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Evidence reveals that inflammatory factors can predict coronary restenosis in patients suffering from coronary heart disease (CHD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Perhaps, inflammatory factors are promising biomarkers for the diagnosis of coronary restenosis after PCI. However, the accuracy of inflammatory factors has not been systematically evaluated. Therefore, it is necessary to perform a meta-analysis to certify the diagnostic values of inflammatory factors on coronary restenosis after PCI. METHODS China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang, VIP, China Biology Medicine disc (CBM), PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library and Web of Science were searched for relevant studies to explore the potential diagnostic values of inflammatory factors on coronary restenosis after PCI from inception to January 2021. All data were extracted by 2 experienced researchers independently. The risk of bias about the meta-analysis was confirmed by the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 (QUADAS-2). The data extracted were synthesized and heterogeneity was investigated as well. All of the above statistical analyses were carried out with Stata 16.0. RESULTS The results of this meta-analysis will be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal for publication. CONCLUSION This study clarified confusions about the specificity and sensitivity of inflammatory factors on coronary restenosis after PCI, thus further guiding their promotion and application. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Ethical approval will not be necessary since this systematic review and meta-analysis will not contain any private information of participants or violate their human rights. Abstract
Mitral stenosis (MS) is a consequence of rheumatic heart disease that leads to heart failure requiring mechanical intervention. Percutaneous mitral commissurotomy (PMC) is the treatment of choice for the intervention, and currently there are no soluble markers associated with hemodynamic improvement after PMC. This study aims to determine the changes in cytokine/chemokine plasma levels, as well as T cell activation after PMC, and to investigate their association with immediate hemodynamic improvement and clinical outcomes. Plasma samples from eighteen patients with well-defined MS who underwent PMC and 12 healthy controls were analyzed using BioPlex immunoassay. We observed that 16 out of the 27 (60%) molecules assessed were altered in patients' plasma pre-PMC as compared to control group. Of those, IL-1β, IL-12, IL-6, IL-4, PDGF, and CCL11 showed significant decrease after PMC. Stratifying the patients according to adverse outcome after a 28-month median follow up, we detected a significant reduction of IL-1β, IL-12, IL-6, IL-4, IFN-γ, CXCL-10, VEGF, FGF and PDGF post-PMC in patients without events, but not in those who presented adverse events during the follow-up. Patients with adverse outcomes had lower IL-10 pre-PMC, as compared to the ones without adverse events. In addition, the frequency of CD8+ activated memory cells was increased after PMC, while the frequency of CD4+ activated memory cells did not change. Our results show an association between the decrease of specific cytokines and changes in T cell activation with hemodynamic improvement post-PMC, as well as with long-term outcomes, suggesting their possible use as soluble markers for hemodynamic recovery after MS intervention.

Abstract
Imbalances of proatherogenic inflammatory and antiatherogenic inflammatory mediators were involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. This study sought to investigate the effects of proatherogenic inflammatory and antiatherogenic inflammatory mediators on the proximal, middle, and distal coronary artery reocclusions in elderly patients after coronary stent implantations. We measured the expression levels of proatherogenic inflammatory/antiatherogenic inflammatory cytokines. This included interleukin-1 β (IL-1 β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-10 (IL-10), interleukin-17 (IL-17), interleukin-13 (IL-13), and interleukin-37 (IL-37) in the elderly patients with the proximal, middle, and distal coronary artery reocclusions after coronary stent implantations. Levels of IL-1 β, IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, and hs-CRP were remarkably increased (P < 0.001), and levels of IL-10, IL-17, IL-13, and IL-37 were remarkably lowered (P < 0.001) in the elderly patients with the proximal, middle, and distal coronary artery reocclusions. Imbalances of proatherogenic inflammatory and antiatherogenic inflammatory mediators may be involved in the formation and progression of proximal, middle, and distal coronary artery reocclusions in elderly patients after coronary stent implantations.

Abstract
Aim To analyze the relationship between serum concentrations of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) in dynamics and development of restenosis at 12 months following elective coronary stent placement (CSP).Material and methods The key role in atherogenesis, neointimal proliferation and restenosis belongs to inflammation. This study included 91 patients (median age, 60 [56; 66] years) with stable exertional angina after an elective CSP using second-generation stents. Follow-up coronarography was performed for 60 patients at 12 months. Concentration of hsCRP was measured immediately prior to CSP and at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after CSP. Restenosis of the stented segment (50% or more narrowing of the stented segment or a 5-mm vessel segment proximally or distally adjacent to the stented segment) was observed in 8 patients.Results According to results of the ROC analysis, the increase in hsCRP concentration >0.9 mg/l (>25%) at one month after CSP had the highest predictive significance with respect of restenosis (area under the ROC curve, 0.89 at 95 % confidence interval (CI) from 0.79 to 0.99; sensitivity, 87.5 %; specificity, 82.8 %; р=0.0005), which was superior to the absolute value of hsCRP concentration >3.0 mg/l (area under the ROC curve, 0.82 at 95 % CI from 0.68 to 0.96; р=0.0007).Conclusion Increased concentration of hsCRP ≥0.9 mg /l (≥25 %) at a month after CSP was associated with restenosis of the coronary artery stented segment.

Abstract
The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (Sars-CoV-2) outbreak is a public health emergency affecting different regions around the world. The lungs are often damaged due to the presence of Sars-CoV-2 binding receptor ACE2 on epithelial alveolar cells. Severity of infection varies from complete absence of symptomatology to more aggressive symptoms, characterized by sudden acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), multiorgan failure, and sepsis, requiring treatment in intensive care unit (ICU). It is not still clear why the immune system is not able to efficiently suppress viral replication in a small percentage of patients. It has been documented as pathological conditions affecting the cardiovascular system, strongly associated to atherosclerotic progression, such as heart failure (HF), coronary heart disease (CHD), hypertension (HTN) and diabetes mellitus (DM), could serve as predictive factors for severity and susceptibility during Sars-CoV-2 infection. Atherosclerotic progression, as a chronic inflammation process, is characterized by immune system dysregulation leading to pro-inflammatory patterns, including interleukin 6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), and IL-1β. Reviewing immune system and inflammation profiles in atherosclerosis and laboratory results reported in severe COVID-19 infections, we hypothesized a pathogenetic correlation. Atherosclerosis may be an ideal pathogenetic substrate for high viral replication ability, leading to adverse outcomes, as reported in patients with cardiovascular factors. The level of atherosclerotic progression may affect a different degree of severe infection; in a vicious circle, feeding itself, Sars-CoV-2 may exacerbate atherosclerotic evolution due to excessive and aberrant plasmatic concentration of cytokines.

Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases represent a complex group of clinical syndromes caused by a variety of interacting pathological factors. They include the most extensive disease population and rank first in all-cause mortality worldwide. Accumulating evidence demonstrates that cytokines play critical roles in the presence and development of cardiovascular diseases. Interleukin-12 family members, including IL-12, IL-23, IL-27 and IL-35, are a class of cytokines that regulate a variety of biological effects; they are closely related to the progression of various cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, hypertension, aortic dissection, cardiac hypertrophy, myocardial infarction, and acute cardiac injury. This paper mainly discusses the role of IL-12 family members in cardiovascular diseases, and the molecular and cellular mechanisms potentially involved in their action in order to identify possible intervention targets for the prevention and clinical treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Abstract
Background This study aimed to explore the associations of common inflammatory cytokine levels with restenosis and rapid angiographic stenotic progression (RASP) risk in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with drug‐eluting stents (DES). Methods Two hundred and ten CAD patients underwent PCI with DES were consecutively recruited, then pre‐operative serum levels of TNF‐α, IL‐1β, IL‐4, IL‐6, IL‐8, IL‐10, IL‐17A, IL‐21, and IL‐23 were determined by ELISA. The 12‐month in‐stent restenosis and RASP of non‐intervened lesion were assessed by quantitative coronary angiography analysis. Results The pre‐operative TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐17A, and IL‐23 expressions were increased while IL‐4 expression was decreased in restenosis patients compared with non‐restenosis patients. Further analysis revealed that IL‐6, IL‐8, hypercholesteremia, diabetes mellitus, and HsCRP could independently predict restenosis risk, and subsequent ROC curve revealed that their combination was able to differentiate restenosis patients from non‐restenosis patients with an AUC of 0.951 (95%CI: 0.925‐0.978). Meanwhile, the pre‐operative TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐17A, IL‐21, and IL‐23 expressions were increased whereas IL‐4 level was decreased in RASP patients compared with non‐RASP patients. Further analysis revealed that TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐23, hypercholesteremia, SUA, HsCRP, and multivessel artery lesions could independently predict RASP risk, and subsequent ROC curve disclosed that their combination could discriminate RASP patients from non‐RASP patients with an AUC of 0.886 (95%CI: 0.841‐0.931). Conclusions This study unveils the potentiality of pre‐operative circulating inflammatory cytokines as markers for predicting restenosis and RASP risk in CAD patients underwent PCI with DES.
