Abstract
Rare earth elements (Ln: Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy) were complexed with caffeic acid (Caf), a natural phenolic compound, to synthesize novel luminescent complexes with enhanced biological activities. The complexes, formulated as Ln(Caf)3·4H2O, were characterized using infrared spectroscopy (IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTA), mass spectrometry (MS), and fluorescence spectroscopy. Structural studies confirmed the coordination of caffeic acid via carboxylate and hydroxyl groups, forming stable hexacoordinate complexes. Luminescence analysis revealed intense emission bands in the visible spectrum (480-700 nm), attributed to f-f transitions of Ln3+ ions, with decay lifetimes ranging from 0.054 to 0.064 ms. Biological assays demonstrated significant antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, with inhibition zones up to 44 mm at 200 µg/mL. The complexes also exhibited potent anticancer activity against MCF7 breast cancer cells, with Sm(Caf)3·4H3O showing the lowest IC50 value (15.5 µM). This study highlights the dual functionality of rare earth metal-caffeic acid complexes as promising candidates for biomedical imaging and therapeutic applications.

Abstract
The Schiff base metal complexes containing the transition metal ions Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) were synthesized using their nitrate and acetate salts. An octahedral environment encircling metal complexes has been demonstrated by the findings of multiple spectroscopic approaches that were employed to demonstrate the structure of the metal complexes. The Coats-Redfern method of thermal analysis was employed to carry out the kinetic and thermodynamic calculations. The crystalline size of ligand was 36.67 nm and for the metal complexes it varies from 22.43 to 49.21 nm. To assess the biological effectiveness of these compounds, molecular docking studies were emanated. The docking binding studies were established through the interaction of metal complexes with human cancer protein, such as 3W2S (ovarian cancer) and 4ZVM (breast cancer). The results exemplified that the complexes are more efficient towards ovarian cancer (3W2S) in contrast to breast cancer (4ZVM) while among complexes, the nickel acetate (- 7.0 kcal/mol) and copper acetate (- 7.9 kcal/mol) complex were more efficient towards 4ZVM and 3W2S receptors respectively. Additionally, DNA binding studies against 1BNA receptor protein was examined from docking evaluations and the finding concludes the highest efficiency of nickel (- 8.1 kcal/mol) complexes. Further, a number of bacterial and fungal strains have been implemented in antimicrobial examinations to assess the compounds effectualness. The results untangled the extreme potential of copper nitrate (0.0051-0.0102 µmol/mL) and copper acetate (0.0051-0.0103 µmol/mL) complexes against all bacterial and fungal strains except for S. aureus in which nickel acetate proved out to be highly competent.

Abstract
The biologically active and thermally stable bivalent Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes (C1, C2, C3, and C4) of novel Schiff base ligand [(5-trifluoromethyl-2-methoxyphenylamino)methyl)-4,6-diiodophenol (L)] have been synthesized. The structural analysis of these complexes have been carried out by elemental analysis, 1H-NMR, FTIR, ESI mass, UV-visible, ESR, TGA techniques and magnetic measurements. The obtained results were confirmed as square planar geometry for Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes, whereas octahedral geometry for Co(II) and Zn(II) complexes. The geometry optimized structures were developed by employing CHEM 3D software. The DNA binding interaction studies such as UV-vis absorption, viscosity, and fluorescence studies have been confirmed that the mode of binding of complexes with DNA is an intercalative binding. The DNA cleavage studies revealed that all the complexes are found to be potent to cleave the DNA into Form I & II. The in-vitro pathological studies of all the complexes against various microbial strains (Gram + and Gram -), revealed that Cu(II) complexes are more potent compared to other complexes and Schiff base. The anti diabetic activity studies revealed that the Cu(II) complex exhibited slightly higher activity than Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) complexes. The results of antioxidant activity by DPPH method, suggested that the Cu(II) complex has higher activity and comparable with the standard compounds.

Abstract
New nickel(ii), palladium(ii), and platinum(iv) complexes were synthesized by reacting the metal ions with benzidinedioxime in a 1 : 1 mole ratio. The CHN elemental analysis, spectroscopic analyses, and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) results showed that two Ni(ii) and two Pd(ii) ions coordinated to two benzidinedioxime ligands via the nitrogen atoms of both oxime groups and the two azomethine nitrogen atoms. In the case of the dinuclear platinum(iv) complex, however, each Pt(iv) is coordinated with the two oxygen atoms of the oxime group and the two azomethine nitrogen atoms of the ligand. Both elemental analyses and PXRD indicated that the complex ions of Ni(ii) and Pt(iv) have distorted octahedral geometry, whereas Pd(ii) has a square planar geometry. Molecular docking studies showed that the nickel(ii) complex is the most potent dual DHPS/DHFR bacterial inhibitor. The receptor of the DHPS enzyme (3ZTE) showed the best interaction with the nickel(ii) complex when compared to a receptor of the DHFR enzyme (3FRB). All the synthesized complexes and ligand exhibited significant results against PS. Aeruginous than their corresponding SMX-TMP drug. Among the three synthesized complexes, the nickel(ii) complex possessed the highest antimicrobial activities against tested microorganisms.

Abstract
Mn(II) and Cu(II) complexes having the formula [M(L)2 ]X2 of ligand, i. e., 2-acetyl-5-methylfuranthiosemicarbazone were synthesized. Various analytical and spectroscopic techniques described the structure of synthesized complexes. Molar conductance confirmed the electrolytic nature of the complexes. The theoretical study of the complexes explained the structural property and reactivity. The chemical reactivity, interaction and stability of the ligand and metal complexes were studied with the help of global reactivity descriptors. MEP analysis was used to investigate the charge transfer in the ligand. The biological potency was evaluated against two bacteria and two fungi. Complexes demonstrated superior inhibitory action to ligand. The inhibitory effect was also checked at the atomic scale using molecular docking, which confirmed the experimental results. Cu(II) complex was shown to have the most inhibitory effect in experimental and theoretical studies. To check the bioavailability and drug-likeness, ADME analysis was also done.

Abstract
In this investigation, we synthesized Schiff bases 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-N-(4-methylbenzylidene)ethanamine, N-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)ethanamine and 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-N-(4-nitrobenzylidene)ethanamine from 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)ethanamine and various aromatic aldehydes by the environmentally friendly sonication method. The B3LYP method with a 6-311++G (d, p) basis set was used in the DFT calculation to obtain the optimized structure of the Schiff base MPEA-NIT. The compounds were tested in vitro for inhibition of bacterial growth (disc well method) and inhibition of α-amylase (starch-iodine method). The compounds tested showed inhibitory activities. In addition, they were subjected to PASS analysis, drug likeness, and bioactivity score predictions using online software. To confirm the experimental findings, molecular docking analyses of synthesized compounds on α-amylase (PDB ID: 1SMD), tRNA threonylcarbamoyladenosine (PDB ID: 5MVR), glycosyl transferase (PDB ID: 6D9T), and peptididoglycan D,D-transpeptidase (PDB ID: 6HZQ) were performed. The emergence of a new coronavirus epidemic necessitates the development of antiviral medications (SARS-CoV-2). Docking active site interactions were investigated to predict compounds' activity against COVID-19 by binding with the SARS-CoV-2 (PDB ID: 6Y84).Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
Novel tridentate Schiff base [CuL2], [NiL2], [CoL2], [MnL2] and [ZnL2] complexes have been prepared with Schiff base resulting from acetophenylidene-4-iminoantipyrine and tyrosine. Microanalytical data, IR, UV-vis, 1H, 13C-NMR, powder XRD, SEM, cyclic voltammetry, ESR, and mass spectral techniques confirmed the structural features of the chelates. The general formula of the complexes [ML2] was confirmed from elemental analysis, mass and 1H-NMR spectral studies. Octahedral geometry of the chelates is confirmed by electronic absorption spectra and FT-IR spectra. The magnetic susceptibility and low conductance values reveal that the complexes are monomeric and non-electrolytic nature, respectively. Powder XRD and SEM images confirm the crystalline structure of the complexes. At 300 and 77 K, the X-band ESR spectra of [CuL2] complex in DMSO solution were recorded and their salient features have been reported. The binding of [CuL2] with CT-DNA study reveals that interactions occur through intercalation. Analgesic, anti-inflammatory and CNS activities and antimicrobial activities of Schiff base and its complexes reveal that the chelates have higher potent than free ligand. The molecular docking studies have been performed with DNA and 6COX enzyme using Hex 8.0 software which recognizes the biological activities and nature of binding of the complexes.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Abstract
In this study, Schiff base ligand was obtained from the condensation reaction of benzene-1,2-diamine and 5-fluoropyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (5-FU). Metal(II) complexes were synthesized with Fe(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) chloride salts. The synthesized ligand and metal complexes were characterized by FT-IR, UV-vis, 1H-13C NMR, elemental analyses, mass spectroscopy, magnetic moments, molar conductivity and thermogravimetric analysis studies. With the help of different techniques reveal Fe(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes have exhibited tetrahedral and octahedral geometry. Ligand acted as bidentate and it binds metal(II) ions through deprotonated-NH, imine-N atom and carbonyl-O atom, respectively. DPPH, ABTS, FRAP, CUPRAC and total antioxidant activity methods were used to determine the antioxidant properties of ligand and metal complexes. According to the results, the synthesized compounds showed very high antioxidant activity compared to 5-FU. The cytotoxicities of the synthesized compounds were performed on MCF-7 (human breast cancer) and L-929 (fibroblast) cell lines using the MTT assay. In addition, the effect of electroporation (EP) on the cytotoxicity of the compounds was investigated. Our results demonstrated that novel Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes show potential as new anticancer agents and ECT may be a viable treatment option for breast cancer.

Abstract
The thermal condensation of 3-(2-Furyl)acrolein with 2-Amino-6-ethoxybenzothiazole generated a new Schiff base, (1E,2E)-N-(6-ethoxybenzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-3-(furan-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-imine (L), with general formula of C16H14N2O2S. Also, a series of lanthanide complexes of gadolinium, samarium, and neodymium (La–Lc) were synthesized utilizing acetonitrile as the solvent and triethylamine as a buffer and catalyst. Based on elemental analysis, mass spectroscopy, and FTIR analysis, all of the Bis-(1E,2E)-N-(6-ethoxybenzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-3-(furan-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-iminetri-nitratolanthanide(III) complexes with the general formula [LnL2(NO3)3]·H2O are solids with a 2:1 molar ratio (ligand: metal). Based on conductivity estimates, they are nonelectrolytes and monoatomic paramagnetic according to the magnetic moment measurements, and one mole of lattice water was found after thermal gravimetric measurements and FTIR analysis. Therefore, the lanthanide complexes show a ten-coordination structure with a deformed bicapped square antiprismatic. The Schiff base and its complexes were screened for their antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant, and antitumor properties. Their antimicrobial and antifungal activities were strong, and they also produced good antioxidant and antitumor effects.

Abstract
This review concentrates on recent developments in ruthenium Schiff bases, whose steric and electronic characteristics can be manipulated easily by selecting suitable condensing aldehydes or ketones and primary amines, and their metal complexes. Ruthenium metal-based complexes and Schiff base ligands are rapidly becoming conventionally considered for biological applications (antioxidant, anticancer, antimicrobial), in catalysis, in functional materials, in sensors, and as pigments for dyes. Ruthenium complexes exhibit a broad variety of activities concerning simple Schiff base ligands. This may be due to the octahedral bonding of both Ru(II) and Ru(III) complexes, which acquire an extended reservoir of a three-dimensional framework, providing the potential for an elevated degree of site selectivity for binding to their biological targets. This review provides an overview of this field, and intends to highlight both ligand design and synthetic methodology development, as well as significant applications of these metal complexes. In this review, we summarize our work on the development of ruthenium complexes, which was performed over the last few years.

Abstract
A series of fifteen silver (I) quinoline complexes Q1-Q15 have been synthesized and studied for their biological activities. Q1-Q15 were synthesized from the reactions of quinolinyl Schiff base derivatives L1-L5 (obtained by condensing 2-quinolinecarboxaldehyde with various aniline derivatives) with AgNO3, AgClO4 and AgCF3SO3. Q1-Q15 were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and the structures of [Ag(L1)2]NO3Q1, [Ag(L1)2]ClO4Q6, [Ag(L2)2]ClO4Q7, [Ag(L2)2]CF3SO3Q12 and [Ag(L4)2]CF3SO3Q14 were unequivocally determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In vitro antimicrobial tests against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria revealed the influence of structure and anion on the complexes' moderate to excellent antibacterial activity. In vitro antioxidant activities of the complexes showed their good radical scavenging activity in ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP). Complexes with the fluorine substituent or the thiophene or benzothiazole moieties are more potent with IC50 between 0.95 and 2.22 mg/mL than the standard used, ascorbic acid (2.68 mg/mL). The compounds showed a strong binding affinity with calf thymus-DNA via an intercalation mode and protein through a static quenching mechanism. Cytotoxicity activity was examined against three carcinoma cell lines (HELA, MDA-MB231, and SHSY5Y). [Ag(L2)2]ClO4Q7 with a benzothiazole moiety and [Ag(L4)2]ClO4Q9 with a methyl substituent had excellent cytotoxicity against HELA cells.

Abstract
During the present investigation, two new sulfonamide-based Schiff base ligands, 4-{[(2-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)methylidene]amino}-N-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl)benzene-1-sulfonamide (L1) and 4-{[1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)ethylidene]amino}-N-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl)benzene-1-sulfonamide (L2), have been synthesized and coordinated with the transition metals (V, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn). The ligands were characterized by their physical (color, melting point, yield and solubility), spectral (UV-Vis, FT-IR, LC-MS, 1H NMR and 13C NMR) and elemental data. The structures of the metal complexes (1)-(12) were evaluated through their physical (magnetic and conductance), spectral (UV-Vis, FT-IR and LC-MS) and elemental data. The molecular geometries of ligands and their selected metal complexes were optimized at their ground state energies by B3LYP level of density functional theory (DFT) utilizing 6-311+G (d, p) and LanL2DZ basis set. The first principle study has been discussed for the electronic properties, the molecular electrostatic possibilities as well as the quantum chemical identifiers. An obvious transition of intramolecular charge had been ascertained from the occupied to the unoccupied molecular orbitals. The UV-Vis analysis was performed through time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) by CAM-B3LYP/6-311+G (d, p) function. The in vitro antimicrobial activity was studied against two fungal (Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus flavus) and four bacterial (Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiela pneumoniae, Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis) species. The antioxidant activity was executed as antiradical DPPH scavenging activity (%), total iron reducing power (%) and total phenolic contents (mg GAE g-1). Additionally, enzyme inhibition activity was done against four enzymes (Protease, α-Amylase, Acetylcholinesterase and Butyrylcholinesterase). All the synthetic products exhibited significant bioactivity which were found to enhance upon chelation due to phenomenon of charge transfer from metal to ligand.

Abstract
Platinum-group (PG) complexes have been used as antibacterial and anticancer agents since the discovery of cisplatin. The science world still requires improvement on these complexes because of multidrug and antineoplastic resistances. This review observes discoverers and history of these platinum-group metals (PGMs), as well as their beneficial applications. The focus of this study was biological applications of PGMs in relation to human health. Sandwich and half-sandwich PGM coordination compounds and their metal nanoparticles give improved results for biological activities by enhancing efficient delivery of both antibacterial and anticancer drugs, as well as luminescent bioimaging (biomarkers) for biological identifications.
