Abstract
CO2 photocatalytic reduction is an excellent strategy for promoting solar-to-chemical energy conversion and alleviating the severe environmental crisis. In this study, 2D indium oxide (IO) is decorated on 2D bismuth oxybromide (BOB) nanosheets to gain BOB/IO (BxIy) heterojunction. The optimal B3I1 composite affords a CO production rate of 54.2 μmol⋅g-1, about 2.2 times and 11.3 times higher than those of the pristine BOB and IO, respectively. The introduction of IO significantly enhances the internal electric field (IEF), leading to accelerated charge transfer and prolonged lifetime of the photogenerated carriers. In the BxIy composite, the BOB and IO serve as the electron acceptor and donor, respectively, facilitating the reduction of CO2 and oxidation of H2O. In-situ DRIFTs spectra are used to confirm the catalytic active sites and provide insights into the mechanism of CO2 photoreduction. The results suggest *COOH and *CO2- species played a crucial role in the formation of CO. This work presents a valuable perspective on understanding the charge transfer route and developing highly efficient photocatalysts for CO2 photoreduction.

Abstract
Photocatalytic conversion of CO2 into fuels such as CO, CH4, and CH3OH, is a promising approach for achieving carbon neutrality. Bismuth oxyhalides (BiOX, where X = Cl, Br, and I) are appropriate photocatalysts for this purpose due to the merits of visible-light-active, efficient charge separation, and easy-to-modify crystal structure and surface properties. For practical applications, multiple strategies have been proposed to develop high-efficiency BiOX-based photocatalysts. This review summarizes the development of different approaches to prepare BiOX-based photocatalysts for efficient CO2 reduction. In the review, the fundamentals of photocatalytic CO2 reduction are introduced. Then, several widely used modification methods for BiOX photocatalysts are systematacially discussed, including heterojunction construction, introducing oxygen vacancies (OVs), Bi-enrichment, heteroatom-doping, and morphology design. Finally, the challenges and prospects in the design of future BiOX-based photocatalysis for efficient CO2 reduction are examined.

Abstract
Antibiotic residues in animal-derived food (egg) are threatening human health. Semiconductor heterojunction surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates can be used for ultra-sensitive detection of antibiotic residues in egg. Here, a TiO2/ZnO heterojunction was developed as a new SERS substrate based on an interface engineering strategy. Due to strong interfacial coupling and efficient carrier separating in heterostructure, utilization rate of photo-induced electrons in substrate was improved greatly, which realized the efficient charge transfer in substrate-molecule system, resulting in a prominent SERS enhancement. Taking the detection of enrofloxacin residue in egg as an example, the limit of detection (LOD) is only 13.1 μg/kg, which is far below the European Union standard, and lower than LODs of other conventional analytical methods and existing noble metal-based SERS methods. More importantly, benefiting from high sensitivity and selectivity of heterojunction and fingerprint characteristics of SERS, multiple antibiotic residues in egg can be identified simultaneously.

Abstract
Photocatalysis has received much attention as an environmentally friendly route to manage the emerging organic pollution problems. Herein, BiOBr nanosheets have been synthesized by a hydrothermal method, and then PCN/BiOBr hybrids are designed via a facile wet chemical method. The as-prepared PCN/BiOBr hybrids are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra (UV-vis DRS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The PCN/BiOBr composite exhibits remarkable improved activity in the degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) as compared to the pristine BiOBr. Based on the ·OH amount-related fluorescence spectra fluorescence and the photoelectrochemistry (PEC) tests, it is confirmed that the enhanced photocatalytic performance of PCN/BiOBr is attributed to the promoted charge separation. Moreover, by means of the radical-trapping experiments it is demonstrated that the formed ·O2- species, as the electron-modulated direct products, are the primary active species during the photocatalytic degradation of 2,4-DCP. This work would provide a feasible design strategy to fabricate high-activity photocatalysts for 2,4-DCP degradation.

Abstract
Highly photoactive 3D nanoflower-like FeIn2S4/CdS heterostructures were synthesized by hydrothermal treatment and low-temperature cation exchange. The FeIn2S4/CdS displayed 14.5 times signal amplification in contrast to FeIn2S4 alone. It was applied as a photoactive substrate to construct a label-free photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor for ultrasensitive determination of kanamycin (KAN). Under the optimal conditions, the constructed PEC aptasensor displayed a wide linear range (5.0 × 10-4 ~ 5.0 × 101 ng mL-1) and a low detection limit (S/N = 3) of 40.01 fg mL-1. This study provides some constructive insights for preparation of advanced photoactive materials and exhibits great potential for quantitative determination of antibiotics in foods and environmental samples.

Abstract
A novel photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensor for the detection of DNA demethylase MBD2 was developed based on Bi4O5Br2-Au/CdS photosensitive material. Bi4O5Br2 was firstly modified with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), following with the modification onto the ITO electrode with CdS to realize the strong photocurrent response as a result of AuNPs had good conductibility and the matched energy between CdS and Bi4O5Br2. In the presence of MBD2, double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) on the electrode surface was demethylated, which triggered the digestion activity of endonuclease HpaII to cleave dsDNA and induced the further cleavage of the dsDNA fragment by exonuclease III (Exo III), causing the release of biotin labeled dsDNA and inhibiting the immobilization of streptavidin (SA) onto the electrode surface. As a results, the photocurrent was increased greatly. However, in the absence of MBD2, HpaII digestion activity was inhibited by DNA methylation modification, which further caused the failure in the release of biotin, leading to the successful immobilization of SA onto the electrode to realize a low photocurrent. The sensor had a detection of 0.3-200 ng/mL and a detection limit was 0.09 ng/mL (3σ). The applicability of this PEC strategy was assessed by studying the effect of environmental pollutants on MBD2 activity.

Abstract
The doping of noble metals onto the semiconductor metal oxides has a great impact on the intrinsic properties of the materials. This present work reports the synthesis of noble metals doped BiOBr microsphere by a solvothermal method. The various characteristic findings reveal the effective incorporation of Pd, Ag, Pt, and Au onto the BiOBr and the performance of synthesized samples was test for the degradation of phenol over visible light. The Pd-doped BiOBr material showed enhanced phenol degradation efficacy, which is ∼4-fold greater than pure BiOBr. This improved activity was on reason of good photon absorption, lower recombination rate, and higher surface area facilitated by surface plasmon resonance. Moreover, Pd-doped BiOBr sample displayed good reusability and stability after 3 cycles of run. A plausible charge transfer mechanism for phenol degradation is disclosed in detail over Pd-doped BiOBr sample. Our findings disclose that the incorporation of noble metal as the electron trap is a feasible approach to enhance visible light activity of BiOBr photocatalyst used in phenol degradation. This work represents new vision interested in the outline and development of noble metal doped semiconductor metal oxides as a visible light material for the elimination of colorless toxins from untreated wastewater.

Abstract
Conjugated porous polymers (CPPs) have been widely reported as promising photocatalysts. However, the realization of powerful photocatalytic hydrogen production performance still benefits from the rational design of molecular frameworks and the appropriate choice of building monomers. Herein, we synthesized two novel conjugated porous polymers (CPPs) by copolymerizing pyrene and 1,3,5-triazine building blocks. It is found that minor structural changes in the peripheral groups of the triazine units can greatly affect the photocatalytic activity of the polymers. Compared with the phenyl-linkage unit, the thiophene-linkage unit can give CPP a wider absorption range of visible light, a narrower band gap, a higher transmission and separation efficiency of photo-generated carriers (electrons/holes), and a better interface contact with the photocatalytic reaction solution. The catalyst containing thiophene-triazine (ThPy-CPP) has an efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate of 21.65 and 16.69 mmol g-1h-1 under full-arc spectrum and visible light without the addition of a Pt co-catalyst, respectively, much better than the one containing phenyl-triazine (PhPy-CPP, only 5.73 and 3.48 mmol g-1h-1). This study provides a promising direction to design and construct highly efficient, cost-effective CPP-based photocatalysts, for exploring the application of noble metal-free catalysts in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.

Abstract
Recently, the use of semiconductor-based photocatalytic technology as an effective way to mitigate the environmental crisis attracted considerable interest. Here, the S-scheme BiOBr/CdS heterojunction with abundant oxygen vacancies (Vo-BiOBr/CdS) was prepared by the solvothermal method using ethylene glycol as a solvent. The photocatalytic activity of the heterojunction was investigated by degrading rhodamine B (RhB) and methylene blue (MB) under 5 W light-emitting diode (LED) light. Notably, the degradation rate of RhB and MB reached 97% and 93% in 60 min, respectively, which were better than that of BiOBr, CdS, and BiOBr/CdS. It was due to the construction of the heterojunction and the introduction of Vo, which facilitated the spatial separation of carriers and enhanced the visible-light harvest. The radical trapping experiment suggested that superoxide radicals (·O2-) acted as the main active species. Based on valence balance spectra, Mott-Schottky(M-S) spectra, and DFT theoretical calculations, the photocatalytic mechanism of the S-scheme heterojunction was proposed. This research provides a novel strategy for designing efficient photocatalysts by constructing S-scheme heterojunctions and introducing oxygen vacancies for solving environmental pollution.

Abstract
Photocatalytic CO2 reduction is a promising technology for reaching the aim of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", and it is crucial to design efficient photocatalysts with a rational surface and interface tailoring. Considering that amine modification on the surface of the photocatalyst could offer a favorable impact on the adsorption and activation of CO2, in this work, amine-modified brookite TiO2 nanorods (NH2-B-TiO2) coupled with CuxS (NH2-B-TiO2-CuxS) were effectively fabricated via a facile refluxing method. The formation of a p-n junction at the interface between the NH2-B-TiO2 and the CuxS could facilitate the separation and transfer of photogenerated carriers. Consequently, under light irradiation for 4 h, when the CuxS content is 16%, the maximum performance for conversion of CO2 to CH4 reaches at a rate of 3.34 μmol g-1 h-1 in the NH2-B-TiO2-CuxS composite, which is approximately 4 times greater than that of pure NH2-B-TiO2. It is hoped that this work could deliver an approach to construct an amine-enriched p-n junction for efficient CO2 photoreduction.

Abstract
Reducing CO2 into value-added chemicals and fuels by artificial photosynthesis (photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis) is one of the considerable solutions to global environmental and energy issues. One-dimensional (1D) nanostructured catalysts (nanowires, nanorods, nanotubes and so on.) have attracted extensive attention due to their superior light-harvesting ability, co-catalyst loading capacity, and high carrier separation rate. This review analyzed the basic principle of the photo(electro)catalytic CO2 reduction reaction (CO2 RR) briefly. The preparation methods and properties of 1D nanostructured catalysts are introduced. Next, the applications of 1D nanostructured catalysts in the field of photo(electro)catalytic CO2 RR are introduced in detail. In particular, we introduced the design of composite catalysts with 1D nanostructures, for example loading 0D, 1D, 2D, and 3D materials on a 1D nanostructured semiconductor to construct a heterojunction to optimize the photo-response range, carrier separation and transport efficiency, CO2 adsorption and activation capacity, and stability of the catalyst. Finally, the development prospects of 1D nanostructured catalysts are discussed and summarized. This review can provide guidance for the rational design of advanced catalysts for photo(electro)catalytic CO2 RR.
