Abstract
Lateral flow immunoassays (LFIA) have been acknowledged as the promising on-site screening method for food survey. Monoclonal antibodies against benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) conjugated with enzyme-mimetic probes, a multi mode LIFA strips were systemically constructed and evaluated. The PBNPs@mAbs based LFIA could conduct triple measurement in 14 min. This assay had good limit of detections (LODs of 0.057, 0.035, and 0.106 μg kg-1), ultra calibration ranges (0.23-500, 0.076-56, 0.69-167 μg kg-1), and the recoveries ranging from 86 % to 105 % with the precision less than 12 %. Compared with the reported methods, the LODs were 175-, 285- and 94- folds enhanced, and dynamic linear ranges were greatly expanded. Finally, this novel PBNPs@mAbs LFIA assay with simplicity, rapidity, and sensitivity was successfully utilized for the determination of BaP in vegetable oils, which could be used as a superior enzyme-mimetic on-site analytic platform in food safety.

Abstract
The amount of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can be reduced by food additives. In this study, the impact of various flavors was investigated on the formation of PAHs in roasted sunflower seeds. PAHs was measured in the shell and kernel of sunflower with the flavors of lemon, golpar (hogweed), salt, ketchup and raw sunflower. Measuring the amount of PAHs was analyzed by Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). PAHs with low molecular weight were detected. The total of PAHs of sunflower seeds were in the range of 0.4-3.2 mg kg-1. The lowest amount was related to the hogweed kernel, and the highest amount was related to the lemon. High molecular weight PAHs were not detected because the temperature did not rise above 100 °C during roasting. Some flavors, such as hogweed can reduce the amount of PAHs because of their antioxidant properties. On the contrary, the PAHs level with lemon juice was higher than other flavors.

Abstract
Nine different black garlic samples aged at varying temperatures and durations were added to the patties at 0.5% and 1% ratios and compared with raw garlic in terms of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) formation. The results showed that black garlic caused a reduction in the patties' content of ∑PAH8 by 38.17% to 94.12% compared to raw garlic, with the highest reduction percent in the patties fortified with 1% black garlic aged at 70 °C for 45 days. Beef patties fortified with black garlic reduced human exposure to PAHs from beef patties (from 1.66E to 01 to 6.04E-02 ng-TEQBaP kg-1 bw per day). The negligible cancer risk associated with exposure to PAHs through the consumption of beef patties was confirmed by very low ILCR (incremental lifetime cancer risk) values of 5.44E-14 and 4.75E-12. Finally, patty fortification with black garlic could be suggested as an effective way to reduce PAHs formation and exposure from patties.

Abstract
Meat, poultry, and seafood such as fish are a valuable source of protein, vitamins and minerals. Considering their high consumption in the human diet, it is necessary to study pollutants (such as PAHs) in them. This present study has focused on the PAHs level and probabilistic risk of health in meat, poultry, fish and related product samples by MSPE-GC/MS technique (magnetic solid-phase extraction with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry). The maximum mean of 16 PAH was detected in smoked fish samples (222.7 ± 13.2 μg/kg) and the minimum mean of 16 PAH was detected in chicken (juje) kebab (112.9 ± 7.2 µg/kg μg/kg). The maximum mean of 4PAHs was detected in tuna fish (23.7 ± 2.4 µg/kg) and the minimum mean of 4PAHs was seen in grilled chicken and sausage samples (non-detected). Our results showed the 4PAHs and B[a]P were lower than the EU (European Union) standard levels (these standard levels were 30 and 5 μg/kg, respectively). Furthermore, the correlation among the type and concentrations of PAHs congeners was investigated through cluster analysis by heat map and principal component analysis. The 90th percentile ILCR (incremental lifetime cancer risk) of PAH compounds in fish, poultry, meat and related products samples was 3.39E-06, which was lower than the maximum acceptable level of risk (10-4). Finally, the highest ILCR was related to hamburger (4.45E-06). Therefore, there is no risk in consuming these foods in Iran, but it is necessary to monitor PAHs concentration in different types of foods.

Abstract
The objective of the present study was to investigate the level of 16 PAHs in fruit juice samples (orange, apple, peach, pineapple, and mango) with three different packages (PET bottle, Tetra Pak, and canned packaging) by using MSPE/GC-MS (magnetic solid-phase extraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry) method. In this method limit of detection (LOD), and limit of quantitation (LOQ), and recovery were 0.030-0.280 μg/L, 0.090-0.840 μg/L, and 94.8-102%, respectively. Our results showed the median of total PAHs and PAH4 (in all samples) were 7.67 ± 3.19 and 0.370 ± 0.160 μg/L, respectively. The median of BaP in samples was )0.060 ± 0.030 μg/L( lower than the standard level (0.200 μg/L in drinking water) of US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). Also, our results showed that pineapple juice had a maximum median of total PAHs of 12.4 ± 4.84 μg/L and mango juice had a minimum median of total PAHs of 5.17 ± 1.24 μg/L. Additionally, canned packaging had a maximum average total PAHs of 10.6 ± 5.22 μg/L and PET bottles had a minimum average total PAH of 5.25 ± 2.03 μg/L. A heat map approach was also used to cluster samples. The Monte Carlo results indicated that the estimated daily intake (EDI) rank order was Na > B(g)P > Ch > I(cd)P > B(b)F > Ph > B(k)F > F > Ace > Fl > B(a)P > B(a)A > P >A. The Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) results showed the incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) at the 95th percentiles for adults and children was 4.91 × 10-7 and 9.12 × 10-7, respectively. It is concluded that the concentration of PAHs compounds in Iranian fruit juices is lower than the existing standards, and in terms of the risk of carcinogenesis, it does not threaten the human health (< 10-6).

Determination of phthalic acid esters (PAEs) along with probabilistic health risk assessment in fruit juice samples in Tehran, Iran. Abstract
In the present study, magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) method and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS) technique were used to measure 6 PAE in fruit juice samples. The mean of total phthalic acid esters (ƩPAEs) in all samples was 3.55 ± 0.66 µg/L. The mean concentration of DEHP (bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate) in samples was 0.82 ± 0.31 µg/L, which was lower than the mentioned United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) standard level in drinking water (6 μg/L for DEHP). The pineapple juice samples (4.44 ± 0.57 µg/L) and mango juice samples (2.77 ± 0. 1 µg/L) had maximum and minimum mean levels of ƩPAEs, respectively. Also, results showed that brand B (3.76 ± 0.87 µg/L) and samples in the time of expiration date (3.64 ± 0.72 µg/L) had the highest PAE levels. The rank order Chronic Daily Intake (95%) values for adults were DEHP ([Formula: see text]) > butylbenzyl phthalates (BBP) ([Formula: see text]) > diethyl phthalate (DEP) ([Formula: see text]) and for children were DEHP ([Formula: see text]) > BBP (9.07E-04) > DEP ([Formula: see text]), which were below the tolerable daily intake (TDI) value. The noncancer risk of PAEs based on the target hazard quotient (THQ) was acceptable (< 1). The results exhibited that the Incremental Lifetime Cancer Risk (ILCR) was below the permissible limit (< [Formula: see text]). Therefore, the risk of carcinogenicity and noncarcinogenicity of PAEs in juices does not have adverse effects on human health.

Abstract
A fast methodology for the determination of monohydroxy polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in human urine using a fully automated microextraction by packed sorbent coupled to a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer is reported. Sample preparation requires simple hydrolysis, centrifugation, filtration, and dilution. The method does not require a derivatization step prior to analysis with gas chromatography and allows the measurement of up to three samples per hour after hydrolysis. Quantitation is carried out by a one-point standard addition allowing the determination of 6 analytes with good limits of detection (10.1-39.6 ng L-1 in water and 0.5-19.4 µg L-1 in urine), accuracy (88-110%) and precision (2.1-23.4% in water and 5.1-19.0% in urine) values. This method has been successfully applied to the analysis of six urine samples (three from smoker and three from non-smoker subjects), finding significant differences between both types of samples. Results were similar to those found in the literature for similar samples, which proves the applicability of the methodology.

Abstract
In the present work, a new and efficient sorbent has been prepared using the co-precipitation method for magnetic dispersive solid phase extraction followed by dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction. This method was used for the extraction and preconcentration of some widely-used pesticides (chlorpyrifos, haloxyfop-R-methyl, oxadiazon, diniconazole, clodinafop-propargyl, fenpropathrin, and fenoxaprop-P-ethyl) from fruit juices prior to their determination by gas chromatography-flame ionization detection. The sorbent was prepared by octadecylamine co-precipitation with Fe3O4. In the first step, mg amount of the magnetic sorbent was spread into an aqueous sample solution including the selected analytes and vortexed. Then the analytes were eluted with acetonitrile from the surface of the nanoparticles separated with an external magnetic field from the aqueous solution. In the second step, the obtained eluent was mixed with an extraction solvent (chloroform) at the μL-level and rapidly injected into deionized water. After centrifugation, an aliquot of the sedimented phase was injected into the separation system. Experimental parameters which control the performance of both steps were investigated and optimized. Using optimum extraction conditions, the proposed method provided low limits of detection (0.23-0.41 μg L-1) and quantification (0.81-1.3 μg L-1), high enrichment factors (353-443), acceptable extraction recoveries (70-88%), and satisfactory relative standard deviations (≤6%) for intra- (n = 6) and inter-day (n = 4) precisions at a concentration of 30 μg L-1 of each pesticide.

The analysis and probabilistic health risk assessment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in cereal products were done by using magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) method and gas chromatography/mass spectrometric (GC/MS). The results of method showed LOQ and LOD of PAHs compounds were 0.105-0.180 and 0.035-0.060 µg/kg, and the recorded values were 4.3-12.1 and 6.1-20.3% for repeatability and reproducibility with an estimated recovery of 94.4-103.4%. In this study, we analyzed kind of bread (Barbari, Sangak, Baguette, Taftoon, Lavash), macaroni, lasagna, and cooked rice that mean of total PAHs were 98.2, 121.7, 134.9, 166.3, 176.3, 176.2, 130.1, and 248.3 μg/kg, respectively. Further, the correlation between the type and amount of 16 PAHs with cereal products samples evaluated with multivariate principal component analysis and heat map visualization. The highest incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) was found in cooked rice (7.80E-6), while the lowest ILCR was found in Lasagna (2.35E-07). In conclusion, the PAHs content in the tested products were in low health risk ranges (1 × 10-6 < ILCR < 1 × 10-4), and all of the cereal products sold in Tehran are considered safe for consumers. Therefore, cereal products should be regularly evaluated and monitored by regulatory agencies to reduce contaminants in these high-consumption products.

Abstract
Baby food is one of the most sensitive foods available, which is closely monitored for carcinogens. In this study, 16 Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) compounds were evaluated by using the method of magnetic-solid-phase-extraction and gas-chromatography/mass-spectrometry (MSPE/GC-MS). The recovery, limit of detection (LOD), and limit of quantification (LOQ) of PAH compounds were 93.4–101.6%, 0.06–1.12, and 0.18–3.38 μg/kg, respectively. The results indicated the mean of total PAHs in all samples was 3.73 ± 0.8 μg/kg, and the mean of Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) was 0.29 ± 0.14 μg/kg that were lower than the USA-Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) standard level (1 μg/kg, BaP in baby foods). In addition, our results showed that mixed five cereal-based baby food had a maximum mean of ΣPAHs (5.06 ± 0.68 μg/kg) and mixed wheat and date-based baby food had a minimum mean of ΣPAHs (3.03 ± 0.41 μg/kg). The carcinogenic risk due to PAH in the tested baby foods sold in Iran was adequately low, and all examined products were safe for consumers. Therefore, it can be said that the consumption of baby foods does not pose a threat to consumers.

Abstract
Meat production plays a vital socioeconomic role for sustainable development and for promoting food security in most countries. However, not much is known about research agendas done globally and the advancement of knowledge-generating networks in this area of study. The present study aims to reveal and analyze scientific research outputs on meat production linked with recent nanotechnology research work done till date. A compilation of research advancement and development within the sphere was realized through a scientometric study to comprehend the trend of research outputs, scientific impacts, authors' involvement, collaboration networks, and the advancement of knowledge gaps for future research endeavors on the current subject matter. Scholarly published articles were retrieved from the web of science (WOS) and Scopus databases from 1985 to 2020 and they were merged together using bibliometric package in R studio. All duplicated articles (438) from both data bases were excluded. A combination of terms (nano* AND (livestock* OR meat* OR beef* OR mutton* OR pork* OR chevon* OR chicken* OR turkey*)), and conversely analyzed for scientometric indices. A collection of 656 peer-reviewed, research articles were retrieved for the study period and authored by 2,133 researchers with a collaboration index of 3.31. The research outputs were highest in the year 2020 with total research outputs of 140 articles. The topmost three authors' keywords commonly used by authors were nanoparticles, meat, and chitosan with a respective frequency of 75, 62, and 57. China, Iran, and India ranked top in terms of meat production research outputs linked to nanotechnology and total citation with respective article productivity (total citations) of 160 (3,193), 111 (1,765), and 37 (552). Our findings revealed an increasing trend in research (with an annual growth rate of 25.18%) tending toward advancing meat production with the use of nanotechnology. Likewise, there is an increasing pointer to the fact that research work on nanotechnology and meat production has the prospect to influence positively, decision-making on research direction, and collaborations, hereby increasing the production of meat and its products in the future.

Abstract
To simultaneously and efficiently extract pollutants with differential polarities, we herein fabricated and characterized a multifunctional nanocomposite. The novel nanohybrids used NiFe2 O4 as magnetic cores, and NH2 -MIL-101(Al), β-cyclodextrin and graphene oxide as functional components combined with magnetic cores. With the aid of graphene oxide's large π-conjugated system, NH2 -MIL-101(Al)'s strong adsorption to moderately/strongly polar chemicals, and β-cyclodextrin's specific recognition effect, the nanohybrids realized synergistically efficient extraction of polyaromatic hydrocarbons and bisphenols with a logKow range of 3-6. Combined with acidic and alkaline sources, the nanohybrids-based effervescent tablets were prepared. Based on effervescent reaction-enhanced nanohybrids-based efficient adsorption/extraction and high performance liquid chromatography and fluorescence detection, we successfully developed an excellent microextraction method for the simultaneous determination of both polyaromatic hydrocarbons and bisphenols in roasted meat samples. Several important variables were optimized as follows: Na2 CO3 and tartaric acid as acidic and alkaline sources, 900 μLof the mixed solvent (acetone and hexane at 2:1 by v/v) as the eluent, 5 min of elution time. Under optimized conditions, the novel method gave low limits of detection (0.07-0.30 μg kg-1 ), satisfactory recoveries (86.9-103.9%), and high precision (relative standard deviations of 1.9-6.7%) in roasted lamb, beef, pork, chicken, and sausage samples.

Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) levels and health risk of yogurt and butter samples collected from Tehran using MSPE/GC-MS (magnetic solid-phase extraction/gas chromatography-mass spectrometry). The results revealed that the limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were ranged from 0.040 to 0.060 and 0.121 to 0.181 μg/kg, respectively; with recoveries ranged from 86.1% to 100.3%. The highest mean of total PAHs was higher in butter (6.87 ± 1.21 μg/kg) than in yogurt (3.82 ± 0.54 μg/kg). The level of benzo (a)pyrene in all samples was lower than of standard levels of the European Union (EU). The highest value of all PAHs in samples was recorded in the winter season and also in the expiration date. The percentile 95% of the total hazard quotient (THQ) due to the consumption of yogurt and butter recorded 1.33E-02 and 3.69E-04 in adults and 6.12E-02 and 1.75E-03 in children, respectively. The percentile of 95% incremental lifetime of cancer risk (ILCR) due to the ingestion of yogurt and butter recorded 1.17E-06 and 2.02E-08 for adults and 5.51E-06 and 9.46E-08 for children, respectively. The rank order of 7 PAHs in adult and children based on P95% Hazard Quotient (HQ) in all samples was benzo(a)anthracene (BaA) > pyrene (P) > fluorene (F) > fluoranthene (Fl) > acenaphthylene (Ace) > anthracene (A) > naphthalene (NA). According to the Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) method, health-risk assessment showed that children and adults are not at significant health risk.

Abstract
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are useful for extracting chemical compounds due to their properties, such as surface area and the potential for chemical modification. Especially the formation of CNTs with carboxylic acid functional group makes them disperse in water-based samples and have strong interaction forces with cationizable analytes. Based on these features, carboxylic acid functionalized multi-walled CNTs (COOH-MWCNTs) have been used as extraction sorbents. CNT can also be gathered using an external magnet by forming complex with iron oxide (Fe3O4) magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). In this study, COOH-MWCNTs with MNPs were subjected to magnetic solid-phase extraction (mSPE) in order to extract the targeted substances such as diphenhydramine, doxylamine, tramadol, escitalopram, zolpidem, diphenamid, paclobutrazol, hexaconazole, cyproconazole and mepronil from human plasma samples. The following five factors were optimized: (i) the ratio of COOH-MWCNTs to MNPs as a sorbent from 1:1 to 1:4; (ii) sorbent amount starting from 12.5 to 75%; (iii) sample pH tested pH 2 to pH 10 with 1 N hydrochloride and 1 N sodium hydroxide; (iv) agitating time from 0 to 4 min and (v) elution solvent. Limit of detection of 10 targeted substances in human plasma were in the range of 0.1-0.4 mg/L. The recovery of targeted substances (except diphenamid) in human plasma was 73.06-110.28% for intra-day and 83.00-107.70% for inter-day and the precision (relative standard deviation, %) in human plasma was 0.3-13.3% for intra-day and 2.9-15.6% for inter-day. The method was applied to nine authentic biological samples from overdose patients in the emergency room of Chungnam National University Hospital. The performance of mSPE was compared with the liquid-liquid extraction method using ethyl acetate. The results showed that the newly developed method in this study can be used for screening analysis in forensic and clinical toxicology.

Abstract
Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are chemicals, which can occur in barbecued or grilled foods, and particularly in meats. They originate from incomplete combustion of the heat source, pyrolysis of organic compounds, or fat-induced flame formation. This review therefore summarizes relevant parameters for mitigation of especially carcinogenic PAHs in barbecued meat. Consumption of PAHs increases the risk of cancer, and thus the relevance for the mitigation of PAHs formation is very high for barbecued meat products. Parameters such as heat source, barbecue geometry, and meat type as well as marinating, adding spices, and other antioxidants reduce the final benzo[a]pyrene and PAHs concentrations and minimize the exposure. Overall, mitigation of carcinogenic PAHs from barbecuing includes removal of visual charring, reducing fat pyrolysis by minimizing dripping from the meat onto the heat source, the use of acidic marinades or choosing leaner cuts of meat. Estimation of human exposure to barbecued meat, includes several challenges such as substantial differences in barbecuing frequencies and practices, heat sources and meat types used for grilling.

Abstract
The aim of the current study was to evaluate the probabilistic health risk and the concentration of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in commercial tea and coffee samples. For determining the mentioned contaminants in sixty-four samples, a reliable and sensitive technique was validated and developed. The technique is established on magnetic solid-phase extraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis (MSPE/GC-MS). The maximum mean of ƩPAHs in coffee samples was 13.75 ± 2.90 μg kg-1, while the minimum mean ƩPAHs in tea samples was 4.77 ± 1.01 μg kg-1. The mean concentration of benzo(a)pyrene (BaP) in samples ranged from 0.64 to 2.07 μg kg-1 which was lower than that of standard levels (10 μg kg-1) established by the European Union (EU). The Monte Carlo simulation results showed that the actual target hazard quotient (THQ) for the adult and children was equal to 1.63E-04 and 1.67E-04, respectively; hence, non-carcinogenic health risk for consumers is negligible. The result of actual incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) was lower than the limits of safe risk (1E-4), indicating no notable possibility of cancer risk due to the digestion of tea and coffee for children and adults. Therefore, it can be concluded that the amount of contamination of popular commercial coffee and tea available in the Iranian market with PAHs is often similar to that found in other countries and was lower than the standard of EU. Thus, the processing conditions of these products must be controlled to prevent the formation of PAHs due to the suspicion of carcinogenicity and mutation.

Abstract
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are generated primarily during the incomplete combustion of organic matter and are ubiquitous environmental pollutants. For the first time, in this study, a mesoporous carbon derived from asphalt with high surface area (2300 m²g-1 with an average of 1.2 cm³ g-1) was utilized as a sorbent for the solid-phase extraction (SPE) of several PAHs in tap water samples. The factors influencing the extraction capability of the new material were investigated and the optimum conditions were determined to be as follows: Sample volume - 200 mL, no adjustment of sample pH, and sorbent amount - 50 mg. Under the most favorable SPE conditions, with gas chromatography-mass spectrometric analysis, the method exhibited a linear range of 0.5-50 μgL-1 with limits of detection between 0.004 and 0.026 μgL-1. The recoveries obtained from spiked tap water samples spiked at 1 μgL-1 and 5 μgL-1, were in the range 86.7-98.2% with relative standard deviations of <9%. The method was also applied to tap water samples collected from the local environment. The concentrations of PAHs detected ranged between 0.13 and 48 μgL-1. The reusability of the sorbent was tested with five consecutive SPE extraction, and no carryover of analytes was observed.

Abstract
Herein, the concentrations of food toxicants, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heterocyclic aromatic amines (HAAs), in salmon fillets smoke flavored with different smoking wood chips (oak, apple, bourbon soaked oak, cherry and hickory) and barbecuing were determined. Benzo[a]anthracene (up to 0.24 ng/g) and chrysene (0.22 ng/g) were determined in the raw salmon fillets. While ∑PAH8 (benzo[a]anthracene, chrysene, benzo[b]fluoranthene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, benzo[a]pyrene, dibenzo[a,h]anthracene, benzo[g,h,i]perylene, indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene) in the raw samples ranged between 0.44 and 0.46 ng/g, smoke flavoring increased the amount of ∑PAH8 and the amount varied between 0.47 and 0.73 ng/g. Salmon smoked flavored with bourbon soaked oak, cherry and hickory wood chips and barbecued showed significantly (P <0.05) lower contents of ∑PAH4 (benzo[a]anthracene, chrysene, benzo[b]fluoranthene, benzo[a]pyrene) and ∑PAH8 compared to non-smoke flavored barbecued samples. Additionally, smoke flavoring with apple, bourbon soaked oak, and cherry wood chips significantly (P <0.05) reduced the total HAA contents in barbecued salmon. A remarkable result was that the bourbon-soaked oak and cherry wood chips had inhibitory effects on both PAH and HAA contents. In sum, barbecued non-smoke flavored and smoke flavored salmon with different wood chips could be considered safe from the perspective of the detected amounts of PAHs and HAAs in salmon fillets.

Abstract
Magnetic carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with encapsulated Co nanoparticles (Co@CNTs), was synthesized by exploiting the one-step pyrolysis strategy using ZIF-67 as template. The as-synthesized Co@CNTs is provided with the nanopores, a large specific surface area, and strong magnetic response. The obtained Co@CNTs was used as magnetic solid-phase extraction adsorbents to extract two profens including flurbiprofen and ketoprofen. The parameters of extraction efficiency, involving extraction time, sample solution volume, ionic strength, pH and the conditions of desorption efficiency, were optimized in detail. After determined by high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet (HPLC-UV), the results evinced that Co@CNTs showed a high extraction efficiency with high enrichment factors of 832 and 672. The good linear range of both flurbiprofen and ketoprofen were all 5.0-1000 ng L-1, with the limit of detection were 0.60 ng L-1 and 0.70 ng L-1, respectively. Furthermore, a valid method for the extraction of flurbiprofen and ketoprofen from human serum was established. The spiking recoveries of two profens were between 86.74% and 97.22%, and the relative standard deviation was less than 6.55%. Co@CNTs can be repeatedly used at least 10 times, indicating its excellent regeneration and reusability. The results demonstrated that the Co@CNTs materials exhibits high enrichment ability and extraction efficiency, playing great promise in MSPE.

Abstract
This article offers a review on the application of nanoparticles (NPs) that have been used as sorbents in the analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The novel advances in the application of carbon NPs, mesoporous silica NPs, metal, metal oxides, and magnetic and magnetised NPs in the extraction of PAHs from matrix solutions were discussed. The extraction techniques used to isolate PAHs have been highlighted including their advantages and limitations. Methods for preparing NPs and optimized conditions of NPs extraction efficiency have been overviewed since proper extraction procedures were necessary to achieve optimum analytical results. The aim was to provide an overview of current knowledge and information in order to assess the need for further exploration that can lead to an efficient and optimum analysis of PAHs.

Abstract
A simple microextraction method, magnetic stirring assisted demulsification dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction, for preconcentration of five polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (fluorene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthrene, and pyrene) was investigated prior to analysis by high performance liquid chromatography. In this method, a mixture of extraction solvent and disperser solvent was rapidly injected into sample solution. The magnetic stirrer agitator aided the dispersion of the extraction solvent into the sample solution. After the formation of an emulsion, the demulsifier was added, resulting in the rapid separation of the mixture into two phases. No centrifugation step was required. Several parameters affecting the extraction efficiency of the proposed method were studied, including addition of salt, kind and volume of extraction solvent, volume of demulsifier solvent, and extraction times. Under the optimum conditions, high enrichment factor, low limit of detections (LODs) and good precision were gained. The proposed method was successfully applied to analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon residues in grilled pork samples.

Abstract
Previous studies have demonstrated the excellent capability of the cyclodextrins in pre-concentration of the organic pollutants from the aqueous solutions. In this work, β-cyclodextrin- multiwalled carbon nano-tube composite was produced from the reaction of oxidized carbon nano-tube with cyclodextrin in the presence of the hydrazine hydrate, and subsequently attaching this composite to the iron oxide nano-particles. Prepared magnetic nano-composite was characterized by the attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), the field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and the X-ray diffraction (XRD). This composite was applied to extract seven polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from the environmental water samples as follows: naphthalene, acenaphthene, fluorene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene, pyrene and benzo[a]pyrene. Analytes analysis was performed using the gas chromatography (GC) followed by the flame ionization detection (FID), and the predominant parameters influencing the extraction efficiency were investigated thoroughly. Under the optimized extraction conditions, the enrichment factor (EF) was ranging from 41.3 to 49.3 (EFmax = 50.0), and a suitable linearity was obtained (R2 = 0.992-0.997) within the range of 2.0-1000 ng/mL. The limits of the quantification and detection were 2.0-10.0 and 0.6-3.0 ng/mL, respectively. Finally, the synthesized magnetic sorbent and method were successfully utilized for the analysis of rain, well and agricultural water samples. The relative recoveries were ranging from 75.3-107.0% with an acceptable precision (5.5-8.3%) for PAHs extraction.

Abstract
One-step solid-phase extraction (SPE) using a multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) for simultaneous analysis of 21 mycotoxins, including nine trichothecenes, zearalenone (ZEN) and its derivatives, four aflatoxins, and two ochratoxins, in corn and wheat was developed. Several key parameters affecting the performance of the one-step SPE procedure—types of MWCNT, combinations with five sorbents (octadecylsilyl (C18), hydrophilic–lipophilic balance (HLB), mixed-mode cationic exchange (MCX), silica gel, and amino-propyl (NH2)), and filling amounts of the MWCNTs—were thoroughly investigated. The combination of 20 mg carboxylic MWCNT and 200 mg C18 was proven to be the most effective, allowing the quantification of all analyzed mycotoxins in corn and wheat. Under the optimized cleanup procedure prior to ultraperformance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC–MS/MS) analysis, the method was validated by analyzing samples spiked at the limit of quantification (LOQ), two-times LOQ, and 10-times LOQ. Satisfactory linearity (r2 ≥ 0.9910), high sensitivity (LOQ in different ranges of 0.5–25 μg L−1), good recovery (75.6–110.3%), and acceptable precision (relative standard deviation (RSD), 0.3–10.7%) were obtained. The applicability of the method was further confirmed using raw samples of corn and wheat. In conclusion, the established method was rapid, simple and reliable for simultaneous analysis of 21 mycotoxins in corn and wheat.

Abstract
In the current study, a novel magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) technique combined with a gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (GC/MS) was developed to determine the phthalate ester content of bottled Doogh samples. Doogh is a yogurt-based drinking beverage, which is frequently consumed in Middle East and Balkans. It is produced by stirring yogurt in Chern separation machine and consists of substances such as water, yogurt, and salt in addition to aqueous extracts of native herbs. The magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-Fe3O4) were used as adsorbents of phthalate acid esters (PAEs) due to a superior adsorption capability of hydrophobic compounds. In this context, the quantity of the extractable migrated phthalate esters (dibutyl phthalate (DBP), dimethyl phthalate (DMP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), di-N-octyl phthalate (DNOP), and bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)) from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles into Doogh samples was measured. The correlation between the concentration of migrated PAEs and some factors such as the type of Doogh (gaseous and without gas), difference in brand (five brands), volume (1500 and 300 mL), and the storage time also was investigated. The migration level into Doogh samples was increased by incorporating of gas as well as increasing the volume of PET bottles. Also, with elaborating of storage time, the migration of some phthalates such as DEHP (the mean from 2419.85 ng L-1 in the first week to 2716.15 ng L-1 in the second month), DEP, and total phthalate was increased. However, no significant difference in concentrations of migrated phthalate esters among different examined brands was noted. Finally, the concentration of migrated PAEs from bottle into all the examined Doogh samples was below the defined standards by EPA; 6 μg/L for DEHP in drinking water. Graphical abstract ᅟ.

Abstract
In this work, an innovative magnetic aptamer adsorbent (Fe3O4-aptamer MNPs) was synthesized for the selective extraction of 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). Amino-functionalized-Fe3O4 was crosslinked with 8-OHdG aptamer by glutaraldehyde and fixed into a steel stainless tube as the sorbent of magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE). After selective extraction by the aptamer adsorbent, the adsorbed 8-OHdG was desorbed dynamically and online analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS). The synthesized sorbent presented outstanding features, including specific selectivity, high enrichment capacity, stability and biocompatibility. Moreover, this proposed MSPE-HPLC-MS can achieve adsorption and desorption operation integration, greatly simplify the analysis process and reduce human errors. When compared with offline MSPE, a sensitivity enhancement of 800 times was obtained for the online method. Some experimental parameters such as the amount of the sorbent, sample flow rate and sample volume, were optimized systematically. Under the optimal conditions, low limit of detection (0.01 ng mL-1, S/N = 3), limit of quantity (0.03 ng mL-1, S/N = 10) and wide linear range with a satisfactory correlation coefficient (R2 ≥ 0.9992) were obtained. And the recoveries of 8-OHdG in the urine samples varied from 82% to 116%. All these results revealed that the method is simple, rapid, selective, sensitive and automated, and it could be expected to become a potential approach for the selective determination of trace 8-OHdG in complex urinary samples.

Abstract
Meat and fish are muscle foods rich in valuable nutrients, such as high-quality proteins, vitamins, and minerals, and, in the case of fish, also unsaturated fatty acids. The escalation of meat and fish production has increased the occurrence of pesticide and antibiotic residues, as result of pest control on feed crops, and antibiotics used to fight infections in animals. Meat and fish are usually cooked to enrich taste, soften texture, increase safety, and improve nutrient digestibility. However, the impact of cooking on nutritional properties and formation of deleterious compounds must be understood. This review summarizes studies, published in the last decade, that have focused on how domestic cooking affects: (i) composition of nutrients (protein, fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals); (ii) antibiotic and pesticide residue contents; and (iii) the formation of cooking-induced contaminants (heterocyclic aromatic amines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and thermal degradation products of antibiotics and pesticides). Cooking affects the nutritional composition of meat and fish; frying is the cooking method that causes the greatest impact. Cooking may reduce the pesticide and antibiotic residues present in contaminated raw meat and fish; however, it may result in the formation of degradation products of unknown identity and toxicity. Control of cooking time and temperature, use of antioxidant-rich marinades, and avoiding the dripping of fat during charcoal grilling can reduce the formation of cooking-induced contaminants.

Abstract
Aim: The increasing use of cocaine (COC) during breastfeeding has led to growing concern about exposure of infants. Therefore, to study this exposure, a new method to analyze COC and benzoylecgonine in breast milk was developed. Methodology: A new extraction method was used for the first time to analyze COC and its major metabolite, benzoylecgonine, in breast milk using magnetic carbon nanotubes partially doped with nitrogen. Results: The calibration curves were linear in the range 5.0–180.0 ng ml-1. The limit of quantification was 5.0 ng ml-1. Coefficients of variation were between 3.2 and 13.9%. Recovery was between 89.6 and 99.2%. Conclusion: The proposed method is simple, efficient and suitable to determine analytes in breast milk.
