Abstract
INTRODUCTION Sarcopenia is common in children after liver transplantation (LTx). Resistance training (RT) may be effective in combating sarcopenia. OBJECTIVES The purpose of the study was to test the feasibility and impact of a 12-week RT program on skeletal muscle mass (SMM), muscle strength, physical performance (PP), and child-parent perspectives about RT. METHODS Children (6-18 years) post-LTx and healthy controls (HC) underwent progressive RT using resistance bands. SMM and adipose tissue (MRI: abdomen and thigh), muscle strength (handgrip, push-ups, sit-to-stand), and PP (6-minute walk test [6MWT], timed-up-and-down-stair test [TUDS]) were measured before and after 12-weeks of RT. RESULTS Ten children post-LTx (11.9 ± 3.5 years) and 13 HC (11.7 ± 3.9 years) participated. LTx children significantly increased abdominal SM-index (+4.6% LTx vs. a -2.7% HC; p = 0.01) and decreased visceral adipose tissue-index (-18% LTx vs. -0.8% HC; p = 0.04) compared to HC. No thigh SMI changes were noted. Significant increases in 6MWT distance (LTx; p = 0.04), number of push-ups (p = 0.04), and greater reduction times for TUDS (-10.6% vs. +1.7%; p = 0.05) occurred after 12 weeks. Higher thigh muscle-fat content was associated with worse physical performance. These results were impacted by adherence (≥75% vs. <75%) and family engagement. CONCLUSIONS RT in children post-LTx is feasible and effective. RT in children post-LTx may alleviate adverse outcomes associated with sarcopenia.

Abstract
The present study examines the mediating effect of psychological factors in the structural relationships between social and physical environmental factors and the amount of physical activity among undergraduate students at Universiti Sains Malaysia. The sample consisted of 422 students with a mean age of 20.2 years (SD = 1.27). The majority of the students were female (69.7%) and Malay (81.3%). Standardized scales were used to measure the total amount of physical activity and all the study variables. The final SEM had a good fit to the data: CFI = 0.968, TLI = 0.948, SRMR = 0.036, RMSEA (90%CI) = 0.046 (0.025, 0.065), RMSEA p-value = 0.609 with 11 paths relationships. Family support had a significant effect on perceived benefits and perceived barriers. The effect of friend support on physical activity was significantly mediated by perceived benefits, self-efficacy, and psychological needs satisfaction. The effect of the availability of exercise facilities on physical activity was significantly mediated by perceived benefits and psychological needs satisfaction. Furthermore, psychological needs satisfaction mediated the effect of perceived benefits, perceived barriers, and self-efficacy on physical activity. The study findings illustrated that the application of the social-ecological model and psychological factors is important in order to understand and promote positive physical activity behaviour.

Abstract
UNLABELLED The purpose of this study was to evaluate family and home/neighborhood characteristics associated with physical activity (PA) and adiposity among young children living in a small rural community. METHODS Participants were 30 parents and their youngest child aged 2-5 years. Children wore accelerometers for 7 days. Parents completed questionnaires about family lifestyle behaviors, parenting practices, and home/neighborhood characteristics. RESULTS None of the family lifestyle behaviors were associated with child BMI percentile. Backyard size was inversely associated with moderate to vigorous physical activity on weekday afternoons (rho = -0.488, p = 0.006), as was perception of neighborhood dangers (rho = -0.388, p = 0.034). Perceived neighborhood safety (rho = 0.453, p = 0.012), the presence of sidewalks (rho = 0.499, p = 0.012), and public playground use (rho = 0.406, p = 0.026) were each associated with higher weekday afternoon MVPA. CONCLUSIONS Findings suggest neighborhood safety, sidewalks, and use of public playgrounds are positively associated with MVPA among preschoolers, while backyard size and access to play equipment at home are not. These findings have implications for rural communities where space is plentiful but access to community space and sidewalks may be limited.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study examines the development of active television (TV) watching behaviors across the first 2 years of life in a racially and ethnically diverse, low-income cohort and identifies caregiver and child predictors of early TV watching. METHODS We used longitudinal data from infants enrolled in the active control group (N = 235; 39% Latino; 29% Black; 15% White) of Greenlight, a cluster randomized multisite trial to prevent childhood obesity. At preventive health visits from 2 months to 2 years, caregivers were asked: "How much time does [child's first name] spend watching television each day?" Proportional odds models and linear regression analyses were used to assess associations among TV introduction age, active TV watching amount at 2 years, and sociodemographic factors. RESULTS Sixty-eight percent of children watched TV by 6 months, and 88% by 2 years. Age of TV introduction predicted amount of daily active TV watching at 2 years, with a mean time of 93 minutes if starting at 2 months; 64 minutes if starting at 4 or 6 months; and 42 minutes if starting after 6 months. Factors predicting earlier introduction included lower income, fewer children in household, care away from home, male sex, and non-Latino ethnicity of child. CONCLUSIONS Many caregivers report that their infants actively watch TV in the first 6 months of life. Earlier TV watching is related to sociodemographic factors yet predicts more daily TV watching at 2 years even controlling those factors. Interventions to limit early TV watching should be initiated in infancy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence and associated factors of childhood overweight/obesity in the Shunyi district of Beijing, China. METHODS This study adopted a cross-sectional survey and included 10,855 children aged 6-18 years in the Shunyi district of Beijing, China. Analyses were stratified by age group (6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-18 years). RESULTS The prevalence of overweight and obesity among children aged 6-18 years was high with 17.62% and 29.05% in boys, 17.57% and 18.04% in girls, respectively. Both boys and girls aged 9-11 years had the highest rate of obesity in comparison with the other age groups, though the differences in children aged 9-11 years and 12-14 years were not statistically significant. Compared with age 6-8 years, age 9-11 years (OR=1.59, 95% CI 1.41-1.79, P<0.01) and 12-14 years (OR=1.26, 95% CI 1.48-1.73, P<0.01) were independently positively associated with obesity. Importantly, in all subjects, the percentages of being physically active (exercise time ≥120 minutes/week) were lower in children aged 9-11 years in comparison to children in other age groups. This phenomenon remained when this comparison was performed respectively in the normal-weight, overweight, and obesity groups. Even after adjustment for other potential confounders, the probability of being physically active (exercise time ≥120 minutes/week) was lower in children aged 9-11 years (OR=0.86, 95% CI 0.78-0.94, P<0.01), but higher in children aged 12-14 years (OR=1.91, 95% CI 1.69-2.17, P<0.01) and aged 15-18 years (OR=2.22, 95% CI 1.85-2.66, P<0.01), when compared with children aged 6-8 years. CONCLUSION Children aged 9-11 years had a higher prevalence of obesity, but a lower percentage of being physically active. Targeted intervention programs in this key group are needed to address this problem in China.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate if the variables child's sex, age, presence of siblings, parents working remotely, and external space affect the level of physical activity (PA) of Brazilian children during social distancing imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS An online questionnaire was applied by the LimeSurvey software from March to April 2020. Children were divided into four age groups, and the questionnaire comprised questions on family and household characteristics, domestic and children's routines in the period of Brazilian social distancing. Based on the answers concerning children's activities, the following variable was created: percentage of physical activity (%PA) in one-day period. Analysis of variance and regression analysis were performed to investigate the effect of demographic and parental activities on %PA. RESULTS The %PA decreases with increasing age, but increases with the availability of external space at home. No significant or interaction effects were observed for other variables. Age and external space at home are predictors of %PA. CONCLUSIONS Household and personal characteristics of Brazilian children influence the level of physical activity performed by them during social distancing. Preventive measures can be adopted in the face of another similar period.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to understand the role of household variables on the percentage of physical activity (%PA) during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) confinement in Portugal. STUDY DESIGN A cross-sectional study design using an anonymous online survey was launched to assess how Portuguese families with children aged younger than 13 years adjusted their daily routines to the confinement. METHODS Separate analyses of variance were performed to investigate how factors such as the number of children, age, sex, the housing characteristics, and the adults' job situation can affect the percentage of time for PA (%PA). RESULTS Findings, based on data from 2159 children, indicate that (1) boys and girls did not differ in the %PA on any of the age-groups; (2) children with an outdoor space and who had other children in the household were significantly more active (P < .001); (3) children from families with all adults working from home showed lower levels of %PA; and (4) being younger, having a big outdoor space, having other children in the household, and having at least one adult free from working from home were significant positive predictors of children's %PA, explaining 21% of the overall variance. CONCLUSION Time allocated for PA during this period is reduced compared with what is usually reported on normal days. It is necessary to find strategies to increase children's PA, especially in families in which both parents are working and have no outdoor space.

Abstract
Physical activity (PA) tends to decline during late childhood and adolescence. In Australia, this decline has been shown to particularly occur non-organized PA (e.g., active play, informal sport). This study aimed to explore predictors of non-organized PA at 13y; and decline between 11y and 13y. Data were sourced from the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children. Non-organized PA was measured using time-use diaries. Analyses included Cragg hurdle and binary logistic regressions. The likelihood of non-organized PA at 13y was predicted by PA enjoyment (OR = 1.36, p = 0.007), number of siblings (OR = 1.11, p < 0.001), sex (females) (OR = 0.66, p < 0.001) and home computer use at 11y (OR = 0.98, p = 0.002) (n = 3,193). Females also engaged in less non-organized PA at 13y (β = -77.77, p = 0.048) (n = 3,193). Significant predictors of decline in non-organized PA were socioeconomic position (OR = 0.92, p = 0.047) and sugary drink consumption at 11y (OR = 1.06, p = 0.033) (n = 3,222). Strategies to promote non-organized PA may include targeting females and those of lower socioeconomic position, and focusing on types of PA that may replace the perceived benefits of computer use.
