Abstract
Lung cancer is a prevalent malignant disease with the highest mortality rate among oncological conditions. The assessment of its clinical TNM staging primarily relies on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) of the thorax and proximal abdomen, sometimes with the addition of positron emission tomography/CT scans, mainly for better evaluation of mediastinal lymph node involvement and detection of distant metastases. The purpose of TNM staging is to establish a universal nomenclature for the anatomical extent of lung cancer, facilitating interdisciplinary communication for treatment decisions and research advancements. Recent studies utilizing a large international database and multidisciplinary insights indicate a need to update the TNM classification to enhance the anatomical categorization of lung cancer, ultimately optimizing treatment strategies. The eighth edition of the TNM classification, issued by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), transitioned to the ninth edition on 1 January 2025. Key changes include a more detailed classification of the N and M descriptor categories, whereas the T descriptor remains unchanged. Notably, the N2 category will be split into N2a and N2b based on the single-station or multi-station involvement of ipsilateral mediastinal and/or subcarinal lymph nodes, respectively. The M1c category will differentiate between single (M1c1) and multiple (M1c2) organ system involvement for extrathoracic metastases. This review article emphasizes the role of radiologists in implementing the updated TNM classification through CT imaging for correct clinical lung cancer staging and optimal patient management.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The reports have stated that the timeliness of lung cancer care varies significantly across different regions. According to the Victorian Lung Cancer Registry report, the timeliness of lung cancer care in Victoria has changed over time. Therefore, we aimed to quantify the extent of these spatial inequalities over time and to identify area-level determinants contributing to these changes. METHODS The study analyzed lung cancer cases reported to the Victorian Lung Cancer Registry between 2011 and 2022. Bayesian spatiotemporal conditional autoregressive models were fitted, incorporating spatial random effects, temporal random effects, and spatiotemporal interactions. The best performing model was selected using the deviance information criterion. For the final best fit model, the adjusted RRs and their 95% credible intervals were reported. RESULTS More than half (51.24%) of patients with lung cancer experienced treatment delays, whereas approximately one third (30.98%) encountered diagnostic delays. Moderate spatiotemporal variations were observed in both delayed diagnosis and treatment. In the final best fit model for treatment delay, an increase in the percentage of smokers was significantly associated with a higher risk of treatment delay (RR = 2.13; 95% credible interval, 1.13-4.20). CONCLUSIONS Identifying high-risk areas provides useful information for policymakers, helping in the reduction of delays in lung cancer diagnosis and treatment. IMPACT This study has revealed spatiotemporal inequalities in diagnostic and treatment delays, providing valuable insights for identifying areas that should be prioritized to ensure timely care for lung cancer.

Abstract
PURPOSE Complex cancers require discussion at multidisciplinary cancer conferences (MCCs) to determine the best management. This study assessed the impact of a tumor board (TB)-specific information technology platform on the quality of information presented, case discussions, and care plans at thoracic MCCs. METHODS Between September 2020 and February 2022, using a before-after study design, we prospectively collected data through direct observation of thoracic MCCs at an academic cancer center. In addition, we reviewed medical records to assess the rate of change in care plans, compliance of all care plans with national guidelines, concordance of treatment received with MCC recommendations, and time from MCC presentation to treatment. Observational data were collected using a validated tool, Metric for the Observation of Decision-Making. We used SAS version 9.4 (SAS Institute Inc, Cary, NC) for statistical analyses. RESULTS We identified 151 and 166 thoracic cancer cases before and after implementation of the information technology platform, respectively. The overall quality of case presentation and discussion, represented by a mean composite score (summation of individual variables scored on a 1-5 scale, poor to excellent), increased from 56.8 to 82.0 (P < .001). This improvement was also observed across multiple subcomponents of the composite score all with P < .001. There was no statistically significant difference between the two cohorts in rate of change in care plans by the MCC, care plan compliance with national guidelines, and concordance of treatment received with MCC recommendations. CONCLUSION Technology improves the quality of information and discussion at TBs. However, this study did not demonstrate an impact on compliance with practice guidelines. Practitioners should explore the available TB technology platforms to optimize the conduct of MCCs in their respective institutions.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Lung cancer thoracoscopic postoperative wound complications bring great pain and inconvenience to patients. METHODS To provide clinical nurses with a more scientific and effective nursing plan, this study evaluated the effect of refined nursing on wound complications after thoracoscopic surgery for lung cancer. Two-hundred thirty patients undergoing thoracoscopic radical resection for lung cancer were randomly divided into two groups according to the random number table method. The study group received refined nursing intervention (115 cases), and the control group received routine nursing intervention (115 cases). The effects of the two groups' nursing modes on the wound complications (pleural effusion, incision infection, lung leakage, and wound bleeding) after thoracoscopic surgery for lung cancer were compared. RESULTS According to the study results, the study group experienced a shorter intraoperative blood loss, lower extubation time, shorter hospital stay, and lower wound complication rate than the control group (p < 0.05). Compared to the control group, the study group had significantly lower Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and visual analog scale (VAS) scores, and higher the short form 36 health survey questionnaire (SF-36) scores (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION Compared with the control group, the implementation of refined nursing intervention for patients with thoracoscopic radical resection of lung cancer has fewer postoperative wound complications and can improve patients' nursing satisfaction and quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.

Abstract
Background/Objectives: The prolonged time to reach investigation and management decisions in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients can negatively impact long-term outcomes. This retrospective cohort study aims to assess the impact of a multidisciplinary team conference (MDT) on NSCLC care quality and outcomes. Methods: This retrospective study included resectable NSCLC patients who underwent pulmonary resection at Chiang Mai University Hospital, Thailand, from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2021. Patients were divided into two groups: non-MDT and MDT groups, based on the initiation of MDT on 1 March 2018. The study compared overall survival, disease-free survival, and waiting times for investigation and surgery between the two groups. The effect of MDT on these outcomes was analyzed using multivariable analysis with inverse-probability weighting propensity scores. Results: The study included 859 patients, with 583 in the non-MDT group and 276 in the MDT group. MDT groups had a higher proportion of stage I and II NSCLC patients undergoing pulmonary resection (78.6% vs. 59.69%, p < 0.001). In multivariable analysis, patients in the MDT group had a significantly higher likelihood of longer survival compared to the non-MDT group (adjusted HR 0.23, 95% CI 0.09-0.55). Median waiting times for bronchoscopy (3 days vs. 12 days, p = 0.012), pathologic report (7 days vs. 13 days, p < 0.001), and surgery scheduling (18 days vs. 25 days, p = 0.001) were significantly shorter in the MDT group. Conclusions: An MDT has a survival benefit in NSCLC care and improves waiting times for investigation and treatment steps. Further studies are needed to validate these results.

Abstract
Lung cancer surgery with curative intent has significantly developed over recent years, mainly focusing on minimally invasive approaches that do not compromise medical efficiency and ensure a decreased burden on the patient. It is directly linked with an efficient multidisciplinary team that will perform appropriate pre-operative assessment. Caution is required in complex patients with several comorbidities to ensure a meaningful and informed thoracic surgery referral leading to optimal patient outcomes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Evidence regarding the impact of nurse staffing on the health outcomes of older adult patients with cancer is scarce. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of nurse staffing on long-term and short-term mortality in elderly lung cancer patients. METHODS This study analyzed data from 5,832 patients with lung cancer in Korea from 2008 to 2018. Nursing grade was considered to assess the effect of nursing staff on mortality in older adult patients with lung cancer. The Cox proportional hazards model was used to evaluate the effect of the initial treatment hospital's nursing grade on one- and five-year mortality. Additionally, economic status and treatment type of patients were analyzed. RESULTS Approximately 31% of older adult patients with lung cancer died within one year post-diagnosis. Patients in hospitals with superior nursing grades (lower nurse-to-bed ratios) exhibited lower mortality rates. Hospitals with nursing grades 2 and 3 exhibited approximately 1.242-1.289 times higher mortality than grade 1 hospitals. Further, the lower the nursing grade (higher nurse-to-bed ratio), the higher the five-year mortality rate. CONCLUSION Both short- and long-term mortality rates for older adult patients with lung cancer increased at inferior nursing grades. Treatment in hospitals having inferior nursing grades, upon initial hospitalization, may yield better outcomes. This study provides valuable insight into the quality of adequate staffing to improve the quality of care for elderly cancer patients.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Implementation of lung cancer screening, with its subsequent findings, is anticipated to change the current diagnostic and surgical lung cancer landscape. This review aimed to identify and present the most updated expert opinion and discuss relevant evidence regarding the impact of lung cancer screening and lung nodule management on the diagnostic and surgical landscape of lung cancer, as well as summarise points for clinical practice. METHODS This article is based on relevant lectures and talks delivered during the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons-European Respiratory Society Collaborative Course on Thoracic Oncology (February 2023). Original lectures and talks and their relevant references were included. An additional literature search was conducted and peer-reviewed studies in English (December 2022 to June 2023) from the PubMed/Medline databases were evaluated with regards to immediate affinity of the published papers to the original talks presented at the course. An updated literature search was conducted (June 2023 to December 2023) to ensure that updated literature is included within this article. RESULTS Lung cancer screening suspicious findings are expected to increase the number of diagnostic investigations required therefore impacting on current capacity and resources. Healthcare systems already face a shortage of imaging and diagnostic slots and they are also challenged by the shortage of interventional radiologists. Thoracic surgery will be impacted by the wider lung cancer screening implementation with increased volume and earlier stages of lung cancer. Nonsuspicious findings reported at lung cancer screening will need attention and subsequent referrals where required to ensure participants are appropriately diagnosed and managed and that they are not lost within healthcare systems. CONCLUSIONS Implementation of lung cancer screening requires appropriate mapping of existing resources and infrastructure to ensure a tailored restructuring strategy to ensure that healthcare systems can meet the new needs.

Abstract
Background Lung cancer following lung transplantation (LT) may require thoracic surgery (TS). There is an urgent need for data on surgical feasibility, clinical and surgical characteristics, as well as outcome data. Methods We reviewed the medical records of LT patients who had undergone TS at the University Hospital Leipzig between the years 2000 and 2022. Data on medical and surgical history, pulmonary function test, arterial blood gas analysis, six-minute walking distance test, and surgical approach, perioperative management, anesthesiologic, and surgical procedures were analyzed. Results Among 248 LT patients, 13 patients (5.2%) developed lung cancer after 4.2 years on average and on 6 of them (46.2%), major TS procedure was performed for the resection of lung cancer. In one patient who underwent TS for a suspicious pulmonary nodule, it turned out to be a parenchymal scar. TS was carried out in 57.1% on the native lung and 42.9% on the transplant lung. Pneumonia and acute renal failure were predominantly observed postoperative complications. We found that the capacity of gas exchange either before or after TS was related to the degree of postoperative complications. The in-hospital survival was 71.4%. Conclusions Incidence of lung cancer is increased after LT. Follow-up care allows early diagnosis with a comparably high share of operable tumor stage. Cancer as well as postoperative complications were more likely after single lung transplantation (SLT). Postoperative morbidity and mortality are higher in this scarce group of patients and hence, warrants a centered and experienced interdisciplinary approach.

Abstract
International Guidelines as well as Cancer Associations recommend a multidisciplinary approach to lung cancer care. A multidisciplinary team (MDT) can significantly improve treatment decision-making and patient coordination by putting different physicians and other health professionals "in the same room", who collectively decide upon the best possible treatment. However, this is not a panacea for cancer treatment. The impact of multidisciplinary care (MDC) on patient outcomes is not univocal, while the effective functioning of the MDT depends on many factors. This review presents the available MDT literature with an emphasis on the key factors that characterize high-quality patient care in lung cancer. The study was conducted with a bibliographic search using different electronic databases (PubMed Central, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Google) referring to multidisciplinary cancer care settings. Many key elements appear consolidated, while others emerge as prevalent and actual, especially those related to visible barriers which work across geographic, organizational, and disciplinary boundaries. MDTs must be sustained by strategic management, structured within the entity, and cannot be managed as a separate care process. Furthermore, they need to coordinate with other teams (within and outside the organization) and join with the broad range of services delivered by multiple providers at various points of the cancer journey or within the system, with the vision of integrated care.

Abstract
Radiological and nuclear medicine methods play a fundamental role in the diagnosis and staging of patients with lung cancer. Imaging is essential in the detection, characterisation, staging and follow-up of lung cancer. Due to the increasing evidence, low-dose chest computed tomography (CT) screening for the early detection of lung cancer is being introduced to the clinical routine in several countries. Radiomics and radiogenomics are emerging fields reliant on artificial intelligence to improve diagnosis and personalised risk stratification. Ultrasound- and CT-guided interventions are minimally invasive methods for the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary malignancies. In this review, we put more emphasis on the new developments in the imaging of lung cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND By being highly involved in the tumor evolution and disease progression of small cell lung cancer (SCLC), Myc family members (C-Myc, L-Myc, and N-Myc) might represent promising targetable molecules. Our aim was to investigate the expression pattern and prognostic relevance of these oncogenic proteins in an international cohort of surgically resected SCLC tumors. METHODS Clinicopathological data and surgically resected tissue specimens from 104 SCLC patients were collected from two collaborating European institutes. Tissue sections were stained by immunohistochemistry (IHC) for all three Myc family members and the recently introduced SCLC molecular subtype-markers (ASCL1, NEUROD1, POU2F3, and YAP1). RESULTS IHC analysis showed C-Myc, L-Myc, and N-Myc positivity in 48%, 63%, and 9% of the specimens, respectively. N-Myc positivity significantly correlated with the POU2F3-defined molecular subtype (r = 0.6913, p = 0.0056). SCLC patients with C-Myc positive tumors exhibited significantly worse overall survival (OS) (20 vs. 44 months compared to those with C-Myc negative tumors, p = 0.0176). Ultimately, in a multivariate risk model adjusted for clinicopathological and treatment confounders, positive C-Myc expression was confirmed as an independent prognosticator of impaired OS (HR 1.811, CI 95% 1.054-3.113, p = 0.032). CONCLUSIONS Our study provides insights into the clinical aspects of Myc family members in surgically resected SCLC tumors. Notably, besides showing that positivity of Myc family members varies across the patients, we also reveal that C-Myc protein expression independently correlates with worse survival outcomes. Further studies are warranted to investigate the role of Myc family members as potential prognostic and predictive markers in this hard-to-treat disease.

Abstract
PURPOSE To synthesize the qualitative literature exploring the experiences of people living with lung cancer in rural areas. METHODS Searches were performed in MEDLINE, CINAHL, and PsycINFO. Articles were screened independently by two reviewers against pre-determined eligibility criteria. Data were synthesized using Thomas and Harden's framework for the thematic synthesis of qualitative research. The CASP qualitative checklist was used for quality assessment and the review was reported in accordance with the ENTREQ and PRISMA checklists. RESULTS Nine articles were included, from which five themes were identified: (1) diagnosis and treatment pathways, (2) travel and financial burden, (3) communication and information, (4) experiences of interacting with healthcare professionals, (5) symptoms and health-seeking behaviors. Lung cancer diagnosis was unexpected for some with several reporting treatment delays and long wait times regarding diagnosis and treatment. Accessing treatment was perceived as challenging and time-consuming due to distance and financial stress. Inadequate communication of information from healthcare professionals was a common concern expressed by rural people living with lung cancer who also conveyed dissatisfaction with their healthcare professionals. Some were reluctant to seek help due to geographical distance and sociocultural factors whilst others found it challenging to identify symptoms due to comorbidities. CONCLUSIONS This review provides a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by people with lung cancer in rural settings, through which future researchers can begin to develop tailored support to address the existing disparities that affect this population.

Abstract
PURPOSE To assess the clinical utility of chest computed tomography (CT) reports for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) staging generated by inexperienced readers using structured reporting (SR) templates from the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR-SR) and the Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM-SR), compared to traditional non-systematic reports (NSR). METHODS In a cohort of 30 NSCLC patients, six third-year radiology residents reported CT examinations in two 2-month-apart separate sessions using NSR in the first and NSR, RCR-SR, or SIRM-SR in the second. Couples of expert radiologists and thoracic oncologists in consensus evaluated completeness, accuracy, and clarity. All the quality indicators were expressed on a 100-point scale. The Wilcoxon signed ranks, and Wilcoxon-Mann Whitney tests were used for statistical analyses. RESULTS Results showed significantly higher completeness for RCR-SR (90 %) and SIRM-SR (100 %) compared to NSR (70 %) in the second session (all p < 0.001). SIRM-SR demonstrated superior accuracy (70 % vs. 55 %, p < 0.001) over NSR, while RCR-SR and NSR accuracy did not significantly differ (60 % vs. 62.5 %, p = 0.06). In the second session, RCR-SR and SIRM-SR surpassed NSR in completeness, accuracy, and clarity (all p < 0.001, except p = 0.04 for accuracy between RCR-SR and NSR). SIRM-SR outperformed RCR-SR in completeness (100 % vs. 90 %, p < 0.001) and accuracy (70 % vs. 62.5 %, p = 0.002), with equivalent clarity (90 % for both, p = 0.27). CONCLUSIONS Inexperienced readers using RCR-SR and SIRM-SR demonstrated high-quality reporting, indicating their potential in radiology residency programs to enhance reporting skills for NSCLC staging and effective interaction with all the physicians involved in managing NSCLC patients.

Abstract
Objective To analyze the impacts of self-confidence cultivation combined with family collaborative nursing on the hope level, stigma and exercise tolerance in patients undergoing radical resection of pulmonary carcinoma. Methods In this expeirment, 79 patients who underwent radical resection of pulmonary carcinoma in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2021, were selected as research objects, and they were divided into two groups according to the date of admission. The control group (n = 39) was given routine care, while the study group (n = 40) was given self-confidence cultivation combined with family collaborative nursing on the basis of the control group. The hope level, stigma, exercise tolerance, and cancer-related fatigue of the two groups were comparatively analyzed. Results The scores of T, P, I dimensions in Herth Hope Inventory (HHI) as well as the total score in the two groups were higher after intervention than before intervention (all P < 0.05).The scores of T, P, I dimensions and total scores of the HHI in the study group were higher as compared with the control group (all P < 0.05). After intervention, the scores of each dimension of the Chinese version of the Lung Cancer Stigma Scale (CLCSS), the modified British Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale (mMRC), and the scores of each dimension of the Cancer Fatigue Scale (CFS) were lower than before intervention (P < 0.05); the 6-min walk test (6 MWT) result was longer than before intervention (P < 0.05); the scores of each dimension of CLCSS scale, mMRC score, and each dimension of CFS scale in the study group were lower as compared with the control group (P < 0.05) (P < 0.05). Conclusion Self-confidence cultivation combined with family collaborative nursing can promote the hope level of patients undergoing radical resection of pulmonary carcinoma, reduce stigma, enhance exercise endurance, and relieve cancer-related fatigue.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Regional variability in lung cancer (LC) outcomes exists across Canada, including in the province of Ontario. The Lung Diagnostic Assessment Program (LDAP) in southeastern (SE) Ontario is a rapid-assessment clinic that expedites the management of patients with suspected LC. We evaluated the association of LDAP management with LC outcomes, including survival, and characterized the variability in LC outcomes across SE Ontario. METHODS We conducted a population-based retrospective cohort study by identifying patients with newly diagnosed LC through the Ontario Cancer Registry (January 2017-December 2019) and linked to the LDAP database to identify LDAP-managed patients. Descriptive data were collected. Using a Cox model approach, we compared 2-year survival for patients managed through LDAP vs. non-LDAP. RESULTS We identified 1832 patients, 1742 of whom met the inclusion criteria (47% LDAP-managed and 53% non-LDAP). LDAP management was associated with a lower probability of dying at 2 years (HR 0.76 vs. non-LDAP, p < 0.0001). Increasing distance from the LDAP was associated with a lower likelihood of LDAP management (OR 0.78 for every 20 km increase, p < 0.0001). LDAP-managed patients were more likely to receive specialist assessment and undergo treatments. CONCLUSIONS In SE Ontario, initial diagnostic care provided via LDAP was independently associated with improved survival in patients with LC.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION To support the care of lung cancer patients, oncologists have needed to stay current on treatment advancements and build relationships with a new group of survivors in an era where lung cancer survivorship has been re-defined. The objectives of the study were to (1) understand the perspectives of advanced lung cancer patients whose tumors have oncogenic alterations about their care experiences with their oncologist(s) and (2) describe the perceptions of advanced lung cancer patients about seeking second opinions and navigating care decisions. METHODS In this qualitative study, patients with advanced lung cancer (n = 25) on targeted therapies were interviewed to discuss their ongoing experience with their oncologists. We used deductive and inductive qualitative approaches in the coding of the data. We organized the data using the self-determination framework. RESULTS Patients described both positive and negative aspects of their care as related to autonomy, provider competency, and connectedness. Patients sought second opinions for three primary reasons: expertise, authoritative advice, and access to clinical trial opportunities. When there is disagreement in the treatment plan between the primary oncologist and the specialist, there can be confusion and tension, and patients have to make difficult choices about their path forward. CONCLUSIONS Patients value interactions that support their autonomy, demonstrate the competency of their providers, and foster connectedness. To ensure that patients receive quality and goal-concordant care, developing decision aids and education materials that help patients negotiate recommendations from two providers is an area that deserves further attention.

Abstract
Lung cancer continues to be the largest cause of cancer-related mortality among men and women globally, accounting for around 27% of all cancer-related deaths. Recent advances in lung cancer medicines, particularly for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), have increased the need for multidisciplinary disease care, thereby enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life. Different studies in the European community have evaluated the impact of multidisciplinary care on outcomes for lung cancer patients, including its impact on survival, adherence to guideline treatment, utilization of all treatment modalities, timeliness of treatment, patient satisfaction, quality of life, and referral to palliative care. This publication will examine the roles and duties of all multidisciplinary members and the influence of multidisciplinary care on lung cancer outcomes in Europe. Multidisciplinary treatment is the foundation of lung cancer treatment. The optimal setting for interdisciplinary collaboration between specialists with complementary functions is multidisciplinary meetings. Multidisciplinary care in lung cancer facilitates the delivery of a high-quality service, which may improve lung cancer patients’ survival, utilization of all treatment modalities, adherence to guideline management, and quality of life, despite the fact that only limited observational data have demonstrated these results. To confirm the relationship between multidisciplinary treatment and improved lung cancer patient outcomes, however, further research is required.

Abstract
The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand's (TSANZ) Position Statement recognizes the pivotal role respiratory nurses play in the lung health of Australians and New Zealanders. The national and international lung health strategies are evidence based to ensure optimal professional clinical support for patients. Respiratory nurses are essential to the success of these strategies as a professional workforce, irrespective of healthcare setting, as they are at the forefront of the delivery of world-class evidence-based respiratory care. Respiratory nursing, as an entity, does not have the status as a nursing specialist area despite its range of professional practice across the life span and diverse settings, including disease prevention, public health, occupational health, symptom management, health education, surgery, rehabilitation, non-invasive ventilation, support for a life-limiting illness and adjustments to living with a chronic disease. Recognition of the specialized nature of work and specialist nursing practice status has been conferred by nurse registration boards upon cancer, emergency, cardiac, critical care, midwifery, mental health and palliative care nurses. It is time to confer this speciality practice recognition upon respiratory nurses of Australia and New Zealand. Through this position statement, the TSANZ advocates for respiratory nursing as a speciality area of professional nursing practice, thus supporting registered nurses in respiratory practice as well as the development of future generations of respiratory nurses. Furthermore, this statement validates the strong partnerships between all professions within the society for the advancement of lung health.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cancer patients frequently experience unrelieved pain as a significant symptom. However, several studies have found that cancer-related pain is frequently undertreated. PURPOSE This study aimed to understand the pain experiences of cancer patients who were newly engaged in a multidisciplinary pain management program (PMP) at King Hussein Cancer Centre and still receiving cancer treatments and cancer pain management. METHODS A qualitative study design and semi-structured interviews were used to obtain data from 21 cancer patients who were purposefully selected. All patients had advanced cancer, including skeleton metastases. All female participants had breast cancer, and all male participants had prostate cancer. RESULTS It was found that the patient-healthcare professional relationship and satisfaction with services emerged as two themes in healthcare professionals' pain management. CONCLUSION The results from this study can offer a new understanding of the knowledge related to satisfaction of patients with cancer in terms of the quality of pain management. Additional qualitative studies are required to replicate the findings in populations from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures experiencing cancer pain.
