The occurrence of foodborne disease remains a significant public health burden. However, foodborne disease is preventable by following simple food hygiene steps or practices including safe food handling and preparation practices. There is the need for awareness creation about foodborne disease targeting sociodemographic factors like employment status, period of pregnancy and educational level of community members. This could help improve the understanding and practices about food safety thereby preventing foodborne disease and its associated risk factors.
