Abstract
BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor globally and in China, and its incidence and mortality rate are increasing year by year, and it faces many challenges and difficulties in treatment. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have important roles in cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation, and have now become important drugs for cancer treatment. There are no bibliometric studies on liver cancer and TKIs to date. METHODS We retrieved 2848 records from the Web of Science™ Core Collection (WoSCC) database and analyzed them scientifically and metrically using CiteSpace and VOSviewer in terms of temporal and spatial distributions, author distributions, journal distributions, references, and keywords. RESULTS From January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2023, the WoSCC database documented 2848 publications related to tyrosinase inhibitors in HCC, comprising 2151 articles and 697 reviews. This literature involved 80 countries and regions, 3265 institutions, and 16,653 authors. Analysis shows a steady increase in publications annually since 2004, divided into 3 phases: 2004 to 2010 with fewer than 100 papers annually, suggesting minimal research attention; 2011 to 2019 with gradual growth, indicating increasing research interest; and a rapid surge post-2020, peaking in 2023, signaling heightened global interest in this field. CONCLUSION Our bibliometric analysis on TKIs and HCC spans years, countries, institutions, authors, disciplines, and journals. Since 2004, this field has gained attention, with current research focusing on inflammatory and immune mechanisms, associated diseases, cytokines, and TKIs' applications in liver cancer treatment, including combination therapies. These areas signify emerging research directions.

Abstract
Background With the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the increasing significance of imaging in orthopedics, the application of AI in the field of orthopedic imaging is becoming increasingly extensive. Previous studies show that the application of AI-based orthopedic imaging may break the traditional model of the field. As a result, relevant research has received attention, and numerous articles have been published. Through bibliometric analysis, this study summarized the knowledge structure of AI-based orthopedic imaging and explored its potential research trends and focal points. Methods In this study, literature on AI in the field of orthopedic imaging available in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2024 was analyzed. In order to identify the main research topics and generate visual charts of countries, institutions, authors, and keyword networks, the search results were imported into VOSviewer and CiteSpace. Results A total of 3,147 publications were analyzed, revealing a rapid increase in AI research in orthopedic imaging since 2007, with over 90% of studies published after 2017. The United States (US) and China dominate this field, with the US leading in citations and academic influence, and China demonstrating significant growth in productivity. Institutional analysis highlighted Harvard University and Stanford University as key contributors, reflecting their strong academic influence. Keyword analysis identified three main research focuses: (I) advancements in algorithm development, particularly deep learning (DL) methods such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs); (II) applications in orthopedic disease imaging, including osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and total knee arthroplasty; and (III) innovations in multimodal fusion and three-dimensional (3D) imaging techniques. Emerging trends emphasize integrating imaging data with clinical biomarkers to improve diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic decision-making. These findings provide a comprehensive overview of AI's role in orthopedic imaging, emphasizing areas of high impact and potential future directions for research. Conclusions The research on the application of AI in orthopedic imaging is a hot topic and indicates broad research prospects in the future. However, this study suggests that research teams should strengthen collaboration, especially international cooperation. Based on comprehensive analysis, the development of DL algorithms (especially CNNs), the use of AI in processing image data related to orthopedic diseases (segmentation, classification, and feature map extraction), and the expansion of AI imaging applications in different diseases are expected to become hotspots in future research on the application of AI in orthopedic imaging.

Abstract
Background Recently, many studies have focused on the relationship between senescence and immunotherapy in cancer treatment. However, relatively few studies have examined the intrinsic links between the three. Whether these studies can act synergistically in the fight against cancer and the specific links between them are still unclear. Methods We extracted, quantified, and visualized data from the literature (n = 2396) for the period 2004-2023 after rigorous quality control using citespace, GraphPad Prism, the R software package, and VOSviewer. Results Linear fit analyses were generated to predict the number of annual publications and citations as a function of the top-performing authors, journals, countries, and affiliations academically over the past two decades such as Weiwei, Aging-us, China, and the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. Vosviewer-based hierarchical clustering further categorized study characteristics into six clusters, including two major clusters of immunotherapy research, immunosenescence-related research factors, and timeline distributions suggesting that cellular senescence and tumor progression is a relatively new research cluster that warrants further exploration and development. Study characterization bursts and linear regression analyses further confirmed these findings and revealed other important results, such as aging (a = 1.964, R² = 0.6803) and immunotherapy (a = 16.38, R² = 0.8812). Furthermore, gene frequency analysis in this study revealed the most abundant gene, APOE, and SIRT1-7 proteins. Conclusion The combination of aging therapies with tumor immunotherapies is currently in its preliminary stages. Although senescence has the greatest impact on ICB therapies, mechanistic investigations, and drug development for APOE and sirt1-7 (Sirtuins family) targets may be the key to combining senescence therapies with immunotherapies in the treatment of tumors.

Abstract
Objectives Multimodal analgesia (MA) is a cornerstone in perioperative pain management, enhancing pain relief and minimizing opioid consumption by targeting various pain pathways. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of MA research from 2013 to 2023 to understand its development and impact on perioperative care. Methods A comprehensive literature search of the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) was conducted, covering publications from January 2013 to December 2023. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer and other bibliometric tools to identify publication trends, key contributors, and emerging research themes. Results The analysis identified 1,939 studies on MA, with a notable increase in annual publications since 2020. The USA, China, and Canada were the leading contributors. Key terms like Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), and Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) were frequently associated with MA. Significant journals included the Cureus Journal of Medical Science and Anesthesia and Analgesia. Influential authors such as Richard D. Urman and Henrik Kehlet were highlighted for their contributions. The research showed significant advancements and growing global interest in MA. Conclusion The study underscores the growing importance of MA in perioperative pain management, with significant contributions from leading countries and researchers. Future research should focus on optimizing pain management protocols, enhancing patient recovery, and reducing opioid dependency through MA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Genome-wide association studies have revealed numerous loci associated with coronary artery disease (CAD). However, some potential causal/risk genes remain unidentified, and causal therapies are lacking. METHODS AND RESULTS We integrated multi-omics data from gene methylation, expression, and protein levels using summary data-based Mendelian randomization and colocalization analysis. Candidate genes were prioritized based on protein-level associations, colocalization probability, and links to methylation and expression. Single-cell RNA sequencing data were used to assess differential expression in the coronary arteries of patients with CAD. TAGLN2 (Transgelin 2), APOB (Apolipoprotein B), and GIP (Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) were identified as the genes most strongly associated with CAD, with TAGLN2 exhibiting the most significant association. Higher methylation levels of TAGLN2 at specific Cytosine-phosphate-Guanine sites were negatively correlated with its gene expression and associated with a lower risk of CAD, whereas higher circulating TAGLN2 protein levels were positively associated with CAD risk (odds ratio,1.66 [95% CI, 1.32-2.08). These results suggest distinct regulatory mechanisms for TAGLN2. In contrast, APOB and GIP showed positive associations with CAD risk, whereas DHX58 (DExH-box helicase 58) and SWAP70 (Switch-associated protein 70) were associated with decreased risk. CONCLUSIONS Our findings provide multi-omics evidence suggesting that TAGLN2, APOB, GIP, DHX58, and SWAP70 genes are associated with CAD risk. This work provides novel insights into the molecular mechanisms of CAD and highlights the potential of integrating multi-omics data to uncover potential causal relationships that cannot be fully captured by traditional genome-wide association studies.

Abstract
Purpose This study aims to conduct a bibliometric and visual analysis of the research on the nasal mucosa in allergic rhinitis (AR) and to explore its emerging trends, hotspots, and future development. Methods We comprehensively searched the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) for literature related to the nasal mucosa in AR published between 2010 and 2024. Bibliometric and visual analyses were performed using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and the R language. Results A total of 1124 relevant articles were included in this study, and the analysis showed that the number of articles in this field has been increasing year by year. China dominated the article output, followed by South Korea and Japan. American Journal of Rhinology & Allergy (69 articles) topped the list of publications; keyword analysis showed that "immune response", "inflammatory response", "autophagy", "NLRP3 inflammasome", and "miRNAs" are hotspots in this field. Conclusion Over the past decade, research related to the nasal mucosa in AR have gained growing interest. This study is the first to use visualization software and data mining information to conduct a bibliometric analysis in this particular field, thereby providing fresh perspectives on the research terrain.

Abstract
Objective The aim of this study is to conduct bibliometric analysis and visualization of the research progress of lipid droplets in the central nervous system in detail using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and to explore the current research status, hotspots, and research trends, with a view to providing a basis for future research. Methods This study utilized the Web of Science database to search for 1,066 relevant publications on lipid droplets in the central nervous system from 2000 to 2024. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software, producing metrics such as annual publication trends, contributions by countries, institutions, and authors, keyword co-occurrences, and reference co-citation networks. The literature of 25 years or so was explored visually to identify the important areas of lipid droplets in neurological research. Results Miguel Lopez is the largest contributor to the relevant literature with 10 publications. The United States, China, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Cambridge, and Zhejiang University are the top contributors in terms of publication volume in this research area. Current research emphasizes the mechanisms of lipid droplets in oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, and related degenerative diseases, with a particular focus on Alzheimer's Disease. Conclusion Our analysis suggests enhancing collaboration among countries, institutions, and authors in clinical and basic research on brain lipid droplets.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of LL-37, summarize its development trends and patterns, and identify emerging research hotspots. METHODS Bibliometric and Knowledge Graph Analysis of Literature Data Related to LL-37 in the WOSCC Database Using Citespace and Vosviewer. RESULTS A total of 2,814 articles were analyzed, revealing a steady increase in recent publications. The USA and Sweden were the main contributors, with PLOS One publishing the most articles. Research on LL-37 in cancer and mast cells is emerging as a new focus. CONCLUSION The research status and development trends of LL-37 were quantitatively analyzed, providing new directions for future studies.

Abstract
Background Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is among the most common congenital heart defects. Over the last two decades, the number of research publications on PFO has increased. This study aims to identify and describe the current state, hotspots, and emerging trends in PFO research over the previous 20 years using bibliometric analysis and visual mapping. Methods The Web of Science Core Collection was searched for all publications on PFO research, which were then included in the study. CtieSpace, VOSviewer, and Excel software were used to visualize general information, publication output, countries/regions, authors, journals, influential papers, and keyword trends in this field. Results This comprehensive analysis included 14,495 publications from 6,190 institutions across 115 countries. The United States dominated with the highest number of publications (2,407) and international collaborations. Mas JL made significant contributions to the PFO field, while Meier B emerged as a leading author, publishing 81 articles during the past 20 years. There were strong international collaborations among countries, institutions, and authors. Stroke, Circulation, and the New England Journal of Medicine were the most cited journals, with 13,124, 10,136, and 9,867 citations, respectively. Conclusions This bibliometric study revealed that recent research frontiers primarily focused on the diagnosis and clinical management of patients with PFO. Future studies are expected to delve deeper into the biological mechanisms by which PFO contributes to stroke, the efficacy and limitations of PFO closure techniques, and the exploration of genetic variations associated with PFO and their roles in disease susceptibility.

Abstract
Background Cognitive impairment is an important cause of disability and death among the elderly. One of the most important risk factors is stroke. Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) not only diminishes the quality of life for patients but also increases the burden on families and society. But PSCI can be mitigated through early intervention. Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is one of the significant causes of stroke and has garnered considerable attention in PSCI. Therefore, this study aims to identify research priorities and trends in PSCI through bibliometric analysis, and further explore the role played by CSVD in PSCI. Methods In this study, we performed a systematic search in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). VOSviewer, CiteSpace and Origin were mainly used to visualize the research focus and trend in PSCI. In addition, we screened the retrieved literature again, and performed keyword analysis on the studies related to CSVD. Results A total of 1,943 publications were retrieved in the field of PSCI in this study, with consistent upward trend in annual publications in recent years. Pendlebury was an important leader in PSCI research. Capital Medical University was in the leading position judging from the number of publications. China had the highest number of publications in this field. The journal Stroke had the strongest international influence in this field. Keywords such as "functional connectivity," "tool," "systematic review," and "meta-analysis" have been revealed to have momentous impact on PSCI in recent years. In the further analysis of PSCI and CSVD, "hypertension," "white matter hyperintensities (WMH)," "cerebral microbleeds (CMBs)," and "cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA)" received extensive attention. Conclusion The study of PSCI is still in the development stage. This study systematically summarizes the progress and development trend in the field of PSCI, and further explores the relationship between CSVD and PSCI through hypertension and magnetic resonance imaging markers. This study is of great significance for researchers to quickly understand the development of PSCI, but also helps them understand future directions, and provides important insights for the prevention and treatment of PSCI.

Abstract
Objective The incidence of cervical cancer has increased in recent years. The tumor microenvironment (TME) is the local biological environment involved in tumor occurrence and development. This study aimed to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the global research on the TME in cervical cancer (CC), providing a knowledge framework in this field from a holistic and systematic perspective based on a bibliometric analysis. Methods Studies focusing on the TME in cervical cancer were searched using the Web of Science Core Collection database. The annual output, cooperation, hotspots, research status, and development trends in this field were analyzed using bibliometric softwares (VOSviewer and CiteSpace). Results A total of 1,057 articles published between 2000 and 2024 were selected. The number of publications and citations has recently increased. Cooperation network analysis indicated that China holds the foremost position in research on the TME in cervical cancer with the highest volume of publications, thus exerting the greatest influence. Fudan University had the highest output. Frontiers in Oncology showed the highest degree of productivity in this field. Rofstad, Einar K. made the most article contributions and was the most co-cited author. Four clusters were obtained after a cluster analysis of the keywords: TME, cervical cancer, immunotherapy, and prognosis. Immunotherapy, human papillomavirus, and biomarkers were relatively recent keywords that attracted increasing attention from researchers. Discussion This bibliometric analysis provides a data-based and objective introduction to the TME of cervical cancer, and offers readers a valuable reference for future research. Conclusions Comprehensive research in this field was mainly distributed in the TME of cervical cancer through the analysis of keywords and documents. Sufficient evidence supports mechanism research and application exploration. Further research should explore new topics related to the TME of cervical cancer.

Abstract
Background In recent years, the relationship between gut microbiota and human health has garnered significant attention. Notably, the potential connection between gut microbiota and mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, has emerged as a new focal point for research. While some studies suggest a possible link between these factors, the field remains in its early stages of development, and there are notable methodological and sample size limitations. Purpose This study aims to systematically summarize the knowledge systems, research hotspots, and development trends related to intestinal microflora within the context of depression research. Methods This study conducted a search for publications related to intestinal microflora and depression in the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) prior to August 6, 2024. The selected literature was subsequently analyzed using VOSviewer (v.1.6.20), SCImago Graphica (v.1.0.39), and CiteSpace (v.6.3.1). Results The study encompassed a total of 1,046 publications, demonstrating a consistent increase in annual publication volume. The primary research countries identified are China and the United States, with notable contributions from institutions such as the University of California and University College Cork, among others. Keywords analysis highlighted high-frequency terms including "gut microbiota," "depression," and "anxiety," and revealed 10 keyword clusters along with 20 strongest citation bursts keywords. The focus of research has shifted from compositional analysis of gut microbiota to its role in the pathogenesis of depression. Conclusions Research on gut microbiota and depression is growing, but there is still a need for greater collaboration between authors and institutions across regions, more ongoing interaction and communication to further explore the mechanisms of action of gut microbiota, to develop microbiota-based interventions, and to facilitate translation of research findings into clinical practice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE miRNA, circRNA, and lncRNA play crucial roles in the pathogenesis and progression of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MI/RI). This study aims to provide valuable insights into miRNA, circRNA, lncRNA, and MI/RI from a bibliometric standpoint, with the goal of fostering further advancements in this area. METHODS The relevant literature in the field of miRNA, circRNA, lncRNA, and MI/RI was retrieved from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) database within Web of Science. The "Analyze Results" and "Citation Report" functions in WOS were utilized to compile the annual publication and citation counts in this field. Microsoft Office Excel 2019 was used to organize and visualize the data. Furthermore, bibliometric and visualization analyses of countries/regions, institutions, authors, keywords, and references were conducted using the bibliometric visualization software CiteSpace. RESULTS A total of 858 publications were included for further analysis in this field. The literature was published across 297 journals, with Molecular Medicine Reports contributing the highest number of publications. Researchers from 45 countries participated in studies within this field, with those from China contributing the most publications. The research hotspots in this field primarily focus on three areas: the role of miRNA, circRNA, and lncRNA in the pathogenesis of MI/RI, their potential as therapeutic targets, and their role as biomarkers. Among these, circular RNA, therapy target, inflammatory response, and cardiomyocyte ferroptosis are likely to emerge as emerging trends in this field. CONCLUSION The overall development of research in this field is on the rise. The compilation of research hotspots and emerging trends in this area may provide researchers with more references and assistance in selecting research directions, ultimately benefiting MI/RI patients.

Abstract
Extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA),a type of circular DNA that has a nucleosomal structure, is widely distributed in eukaryotic chromosomes and has been found to modulate genome instability and plasticity, playing a role in regulating gene expression and genome evolution. To comprehensively outline the stages of eccDNA research development, including author collaborations, research topics and hotspots, and their temporal evolution trends, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of 242 publications related to eccDNA research published from 2008 to 2023 in the Web of Science Core Collection. The bibliometric analysis was performed using CiteSpace, the R package Bibliometrix, and VOSviewer. The USA, the University of California system, and Turner Km were found to be the most influential nation, organization, and author in this field, respectively. The exploration of Characterization and Diagnosis, Heterochromatin,Circ-Seq and Cancer Drug Resistance on eccDNA are the most concerned hotspots. EccDNA research has become a rapidly growing hotspot, receiving extensive attention from scholars in recent years. This study is the first to investigate the development and current challenges of eccDNA research through bibliometric analysis.The research on eccDNA has advanced from disorder to more intricate molecular functions. At present, the rapid growth of eccDNA studies in cancer has not been accompanied by an intuitive analysis of its evolutionary patterns. This review provides an overview of eccDNA's biological characteristics and functions, with a focus on its role in cancer research.

Abstract
A growing body of research indicates the promising potential of vaccines in both preventing and treating atherosclerosis (AS). To gain a comprehensive understanding of the current research landscape and emerging trends in this field, this study conducted a bibliometric analysis of publications on AS vaccines using the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database, based on the "bibliometric" R package and VOSviewer software. From 1991 to 2024, a total of 462 publications were identified in the WoSCC. The United States appeared as the leading contributor in terms of both total publications and citations. The Vaccine journal exhibited the highest publications output. Nilsson J from the Lund University in Sweden was the author with the most published articles, total citations and Hirsch index (H-index). Keywords analysis and thematic maps analysis revealed the passive immunotherapy (AS protective antibodies vaccines) was a hot mature theme, the active immunotherapy (AS antigens vaccines) was an emerging and booming theme, while the efficacy and safety of AS vaccines was a niche and well-developed theme. These findings offered valuable insights into the AS vaccination and provided guidance for future research in this domain.

Abstract
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most abundant internal messenger RNA modification in eukaryotes, influencing various physiological and pathological processes by regulating RNA metabolism. Numerous studies have investigated the role of m6A in inflammatory responses and inflammatory diseases. In this study, VOSviewer and Citespace were used to perform bibliometric analysis to systematically evaluating the current landscape of research on the association between m6A and inflammation. The literature was sourced from the Web of Science Core Collection, with characteristics including year, country/region, institution, author, journal, citation, and keywords. According to the bibliometric analysis results of keywords, we present a narrative summary of the potential mechanisms by which m6A regulates inflammation. The results showed that the key mechanisms by which m6A modulates inflammation include apoptosis, autophagy, oxidative stress, immune cell dysfunction, and dysregulation of signaling pathways.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To analyze the current status, hotspots, and cutting-edge trends of PM2.5 health effects of PM2.5, using CiteSpace. METHODS The Web of Science Core Collection Science Citation Index Expanded was searched for relevant articles from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2023. Network maps identifying authors, institutions, countries, keywords, co-cited authors, journals, references, and research trends were then created using CiteSpace. RESULTS A total of 2174 articles on the health effects of PM2.5 were identified between 2013 and 2023, with an increasing trend in annual publications. The United States had the highest number of articles on this topic, followed by China. The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is the leading institute in terms of paper production. Hoek was the most prolific author, focusing on the health consequences of air pollution. Among referenced journals, ENVIRON HEALTH PERSP ranked first, while Pope Ca was the most cited author. Current research focuses on reactive oxygen species (ROS), inflammation, oxidative stress, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, PM2.5 sources, and chemical composition. The field is currently experiencing a phase of rapid expansion. CONCLUSION The findings of this bibliometric analysis offer insight into the status and direction of research on PM2.5 and its health impacts, which aid scientists in coming up with new directions for their investigation.

Abstract
The influenza virus is considered as a kind of significant zoonotic infectious disease identified to date, with severe infections in humans characterized by excessive inflammation and tissue damage, usually resulting in serious complications. Although the molecular mechanisms underlying inflammation after influenza infection have been extensively studied, bibliometric analysis on the research hotspots and developing trends in this field has not been published heretofore. Articles related to influenza and inflammatory response were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database (1992-2024) and analyzed using various visualization tools. Finally, this study collected a total of 2,176 relevant articles, involving 13,184 researchers, 2,647 institutions, 78 countries/regions, and published in 723 journals. Most articles were published in the United States (928 articles), China (450 articles) and the United Kingdom (158 articles). Ross Vlahos was the most productive author. Furthermore, some journals, such as PLoS One and Frontiers in Immunology, made much contribution to the topic. The future research trends include airway stem cells and neuroendocrine cells as new directions for the treatment of influenza complications, as well as measures related to prevention, treatment, and research and development based on the COVID-19 pandemic. Through bibliometric analysis and summary of inflammatory response of influenza-related articles, this study ultimately summarizes new directions for preventing and treating influenza.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Autophagy is intimately associated with the development of cardiomyopathy and has received widespread attention in recent years. However, no relevant bibliometric analysis is reported at present. In order to summarize the research status of autophagy in cardiomyopathy and provide direction for future research, we conducted a comprehensive, detailed, and multidimensional bibliometric analysis of the literature published in this field from 2004 to 2023. METHODS All literatures related to autophagy in cardiomyopathy from 2004 to 2023 was collected from the Web of Science Core Collection, and annual papers, global publication trends, and proportion charts were analyzed and plotted using GraphPad price v8.0.2. In addition, CtieSpace [6.2.4R (64-bit) Advanced Edition] and VOSviewer (1.6.18 Edition) were used to analyze and visualize these data. RESULTS Two thousand two hundred seventy-nine papers about autophagy in cardiomyopathy were accessed in the Web of Science Core Collection over the last 20 years, comprising literatures from 70 countries and regions, 2208 institutions, and 10 810 authors. China contributes 56.32% of the total publications, substantially surpassing other countries, while the United States is ranked first in frequency of citations. Among the top 10 authors, six are from China, and four are from the United States. Air Force Military Medical University was the institution with the highest number of publications, while the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology (62 articles, 2.71% of the total) was the journal with the highest number of papers published in the field. Clustering of co-cited references and temporal clustering analysis showed that ferroptosis, hydrogen sulfide mitophagy, lipid peroxidation, oxidative stress, and SIRT1 are hot topics and trends in the field. The principal keywords are oxidative stress, heart, and heart failure. CONCLUSION The research on autophagy in cardiomyopathy is in the developmental stage. This represents the first bibliometric analysis of autophagy in cardiomyopathy, revealing the current research hotspots and future research directions in this field.

Abstract
Objective To learn more about gene editing and ALS, and to provide a comprehensive view of gene editing for further treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Methods We searched 1981 records from Web of Science core collection and Pubmed, Scopus, of which 1,292 records were obtained after exclusion. We then scientifically and metrologically analyzed these records for spatial and temporal distribution, author distribution, subject categories, subject distribution, references, and keywords using R, software CiteSpace and VOSviewer. Results Our analysis provides basic information about research in the field, suggests that the field has stabilized over the past decade, and identifies potential partners for interested researchers. Current research in this area is focused on inflammatory mechanisms, immune mechanisms, related diseases, and associated cytokines in ALS. Conclusion RNA Editing, Antisense Bligonucleotide, and Glycine Receptor are cutting-edge research topics in this field, which is undergoing rapid development. We hope that this work will provide new ideas for advancing the scientific research and clinical application of ALS.

Abstract
Objective This article aims to analyze the current status and research hotspots of literature related to perioperative management of patients with Lung Cancer and provide reference for future research directions. Methods This study conducted a bibliometric analysis of research literature related to perioperative management of Lung Cancer published between 2004 and 2024, retrieved from the Web of Science database. R software and VOSviewer were used for analyzing keyword clusters and research themes, revealing trends and frontiers in this field. Results A total of 4,942 studies on perioperative management of lung cancer were included. In recent years, research in this area has shown a global upward trend, with particular focus on surgical risk assessment, complication prevention, and postoperative management. Perioperative biomarkers before and after surgery have emerged as a central focus due to their impact on diagnosis and treatment. The application of novel therapies, such as targeted drugs and immunotherapy, in perioperative management is also becoming a significant research hotspot. Additionally, China has been a leading contributor to research output in this field, demonstrating strong performance in international collaborations. Conclusion Perioperative management is a critical factor influencing the prognosis of Resectable lung cancer patients. Through a systematic analysis of the current status and research hotspots in perioperative management of lung cancer, this study provides valuable references for future clinical practice and research, particularly regarding the integration of novel therapies to optimize patient outcomes.

Abstract
Background Peripartum respiratory complications are a major reason for pregnant women's admission to the ICU, even endangers the maternal life. This bibliometric analysis was designed to elucidate the spectrum of diseases and risk factors for various respiratory complications during the peripartum period, as well as the future research directions in this field. Methods Relevant publications were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection on November 1, 2023. CiteSpace was utilized for conducting the scientometric study. Results A total of 2,331 articles and reviews on respiratory complications during pregnancy published between 2004 and 2023 were retrieved, comprising 87,244 co-cited references, originating from 568 institutions across 104 countries/regions. The United States emerged as the leading country in this domain, with Harvard University standing out as the most actively engaged institution. Bibliometric analysis reveals that the current research hotspots include "COVID-19 pandemic," "venous thromboembolism," "respiratory distress syndrome" and "cardiovascular diseases." Meanwhile, "venous thromboembolism," cytokine storm" and supportive management such as "extracorporeal membrane oxygenation" might represent potential future research directions. Conclusion Over the past two decades, research on respiratory system complications in pregnancy has continually evolved. This study contributes to enabling researchers in the related field to understand future research hotspots and trends, providing information on potential collaborators, institutions, countries, and citation references.

Abstract
Background N6-methyladenosine (m6A) has been shown to mediate ferroptosis but its role in atherosclerosis (AS) is unclear. Methods Differentially expressed m6A-associated ferroptosis-related genes (DE-m6A-Ferr-RGs) were obtained using differential expression analysis and Pearson correlation analysis. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was also performed. The intersection of the module genes and the DE-m6A-Ferr-RGs were recorded as candidate m6A-Ferr-related signature genes. Finally, the m6A-Ferr-related signature genes were screened using least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) analysis. Expression validation, receiver operating characteristic ( mapping, and immune correlation analysis were also performed based on the m6A-Ferr-related signature genes. The expression of m6A-Ferr-related signature genes was further validated using a real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Results In total, 6,167 differentially expressed genes were intersected with 24 m6A- and 259 ferroptosis-related genes, respectively, resulting in 113 DE-m6A-Ferr-RGs obtained using Pearson's correlation analysis. The module genes obtained from the WGCNA and the 113 DE-m6A-Ferr-RGs were intersected to obtain 48 candidate m6A-Ferr-related signature genes. LASSO analysis was performed and six m6A-Ferr-related signature genes were screened. In addition, the area under the curve values of all six m6A-Ferr-related signature genes were greater than 0.7, indicating that they had potential diagnostic value. Furthermore, the RT-qPCR results revealed that the expression of SLC3A2, NOX4, and CDO1 was consistent with the transcriptome level. Moreover, there was a significant difference in two types of immune cells between the AS and control groups. Naive B cells, CD8+ T cells, regulatory T cells, and activated natural killer cells were positively correlated with CDO1 and NOX4 but negatively correlated with ATG7, CYBB, and SLC3A2. Conclusion In total, three m6A-Ferr-related signature genes (NOX4, CDO1, and SLC3A2) were obtained through a series of bioinformatics analyses and an RT-qPCR.

Abstract
Objective To explore the research trends and hotspots of health economics evaluations of patients with chronic fatigue syndrome. Methods To explore the research trends and hotspots of health economics evaluations of chronic fatigue syndrome, 180 articles published between 1991 and 2024 were visualized and analyzed via CiteSpace 6.3 software. R3 and VOSviewer1.6.20 and R4.3.3. The content includes annual publication volume, journal distribution, author country, publishing organization, author collaboration, citation analysis, and keyword analysis in 7 aspects. Results Fewer studies have evaluated the health economics of individuals with chronic fatigue syndrome in China and abroad, Chinese studies are especially rare, and research results in the UK are mostly found in other countries. Moreover, cooperation and linkages between institutions, as well as between authors, are not yet strong. Conclusion The hotspot of health economics evaluation methods in this field is cost-effectiveness analysis, and the hotspot of diagnosis and treatment methods is cognitive‒behavioral therapy. We also found that chronic fatigue syndrome may also have a strong potential association with depression from the perspective of health economics. Health economic evaluations of multiple treatments should be conducted simultaneously to increase attention to this field and provide a reference basis for low-cost and high-quality diagnostic and treatment programs.

Abstract
The arena of exosomal research presents substantial emerging prospects for clinical dermatology applications. This investigation conducts a thorough analysis of the contemporary global research landscape regarding exosomes and their implications for dermatological applications over the preceding decade. Employing bibliometric methodologies, this study meticulously dissects the knowledge framework and identifies dynamic trends within this specialized field. Contemporary scholarly literature spanning the last decade was sourced from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Subsequent to retrieval, both quantitative and visual analyses of the pertinent publications were performed utilizing the analytical software tools VOSviewer and Citespace. A comprehensive retrieval yielded 545 scholarly articles dated from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2023. Leading the research forefront are institutions such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, The Fourth Military Medical University, and Sun Yat-sen University. The most prolific contributors on a national scale are China, the United States, and South Korea. Among the authors, Zhang Bin, Zhang Wei, and Zhang Yan emerge as the most published, with Zhang Bin also achieving the distinction of being the most cited. The International Journal of Molecular Sciences leads in article publications, whereas Stem Cell Research & Therapy holds the pinnacle in citation rankings. Theranostics boasts the highest impact factor among the periodicals. Current research hotspots in this area include Adipose mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes(ADSC-Exos), diabetic skin wounds, cutaneous angiogenesis, and the combination of biomaterials and exosomes. This manuscript constitutes the inaugural comprehensive bibliometric analysis that delineates the prevailing research trends and advancements in the clinical application of exosomes in dermatology. These analyses illuminate the contemporary research focal points and trajectories, providing invaluable insights that will inform further exploration within this domain.

Abstract
AIM JNK pathway-associated phosphatase (JKAP) regulates T cell-mediated immunity and inflammation, which are involved in atherosclerosis pathogenesis. This study investigated the effects of JKAP on T-helper (Th) cell polarization, inflammation, and atherosclerotic progression. METHODS Serum JKAP levels were measured in 30 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and 30 controls. CHD blood naïve CD4+ T cells were acquired, followed by JKAP overexpression and knockdown with or without treatment with PD98059 (ERK inhibitor) or BAY-11-7082 (NF-κB inhibitor) in vitro. CD4+ T-cell conditional JKAP ablation mice were established in vivo, followed by the construction of an atherosclerosis model. RESULTS JKAP was reduced and negatively correlated with the Gensini score, CRP, Th1 cells, Th17 cells, and proinflammatory cytokines in patients with CHD. In vitro, JKAP overexpression suppressed Th1 and Th17 cell differentiation and proinflammatory cytokines, whereas JKAP knockdown exerted the opposite effect; however, JKAP modification did not affect Th2 cell differentiation. Interestingly, JKAP negatively regulated the ERK and NF-κB pathways; meanwhile, the PD98059 and BAY-11-7082 treatments repressed Th1 and Th17 cell differentiation, and attenuated the effect of JKAP knockdown on these indices. In vivo, conditional CD4+ T-cell JKAP ablation increased Th1 and Th17 cell polarization in the spleen, lymph node, blood, and/or aortic root. Furthermore, CD4+ T-cell conditional JKAP ablation exaggerated atherosclerotic lesions in the aorta, elevated CD4+ cell infiltration and proinflammatory cytokines in the aortic root, and activated the ERK and NF-κB pathways in the aortic root. CONCLUSION JKAP ablation facilitates atherosclerosis progression by promoting Th1 and 17 polarization and inflammation through regulation of the ERK and NF-κB pathways.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal tumors, as one of the most common cancers worldwide, pose a significant threat to human health. In this context, the advent of fluorescence probe technology has offered new perspectives and methods for the diagnosis and surgical treatment of gastrointestinal tumors. However, there is currently a lack of systematic bibliometric analysis on the research concerning gastrointestinal cancer and fluorescence probes. METHOD This study retrieved and comprehensively analyzed 1816 documents from the Web of Science database using the Cite Space tool, exploring the spatiotemporal distribution, author and subject category distribution, research themes, and keywords in this field. RESULTS As of February 3, 2024, a total of 1816 records were retrieved, encompassing nine document types. Original research papers dominated the dataset, accounting for 89.922 %, followed by review articles at 6.773 %. We conducted a comprehensive analysis from various perspectives including countries, authors, institutions, keywords, journals, and references. Our findings reveal a strengthening trend in research on gastrointestinal cancer and fluorescent probes since 2010, with primary focus on drug delivery, endoscopy techniques, and genomic hybridization. CONCLUSION In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the design, application, and quantitative analysis techniques of fluorescent probes, marking a notable frontier in this field. Our research findings offer fundamental insights and aid in identifying potential collaborators for future endeavors in this area.

Abstract
Background Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons. Recent research has emphasized a significant correlation between microRNAs (miRNAs) and PD. To identify key research areas, provide a comprehensive overview of current research in various fields, and propose potential directions for future studies, a bibliometric analysis was conducted on the involvement of miRNAs in Parkinson's disease from 2014 to 2023. Methods Relevant literature records were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection on February 29, 2024. Subsequently, the data underwent analysis using the Bibliometrix R package and VOSviewer (version 1.6.19). Results The annual scientific publications on miRNAs and Parkinson's disease demonstrated an increasing trend, with an annual growth rate of 12.67%. China, the United States, and India emerged as the top three most productive countries/regions. The University of Barcelona had the highest annual publications, followed by Central South University and the Helmholtz Association. The INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MOLECULAR SCIENCES held the top position in terms of H-index and total citations, reflecting its extensive influence and prolific publication output. Kim, J., Junn, E., Hébert, S.S., and Doxakis, E. were the most frequently co-cited authors in the field. Based on the analysis of keywords, the most frequently occurring terms included "alpha-synuclein," "neurodegenerative disease," "exosome," "neuroinflammation," "oxidative stress," "autophagy," and "amyotrophic lateral sclerosis," which have emerged as prominent research topics. Concurrently, there has been notable interest in topics such as "ceRNA," "lncRNAs," "mitochondrial dysfunction," and "circular RNA." Conclusion This study focused on identifying emerging trends and critical research topics in the bibliometric analysis of microRNAs related to Parkinson's disease. These findings highlight the diverse research landscape and evolving trend of miRNA-related research in PD. The field of miRNA research in Parkinson's disease is actively exploring the underlying mechanisms of miRNA function, identifying potential diagnostic markers, and developing innovative therapeutic strategies. The results of our study offer significant contributions to researchers' ability to track contemporary developments and guide the trajectory of future research in this domain.

Abstract
As the population ages, there will be an increasing demand for health care resources, particularly in intensive care. Therefore, critically ill older adults are receiving increasing attention and have been extensively studied. However, the research landscape, dynamic patterns, and emerging topics in this area have scarcely been reviewed. This study aimed to delve into the current status and emerging trends (publication volume and research topics) in critical care for older adults (including interventions, outcomes, and complications) using bibliometric analysis. We retrieved original articles and reviews focusing on critical care for older adults published between 2013 and 2022 from the Web of Science core database. To examine and present the research trends, we employed VOSviewer and CiteSpace software for analysis and visualization. The cooperative network of countries and institutions, cocited authorship network, cocited references, and cooccurrence network of keywords were analyzed. Overall, 6356 articles and reviews published between 2013 and 2022 were analyzed, revealing a noticeable upward trend in the number of publications focused on critical care for older adults. In total, 34,654 authors from 7989 institutions across 131 countries collaborated to publish 6356 papers related to critical care for older adults in 1715 academic journals. The United States of America and China were the top contributors in terms of research studies, while Bertrand Guidet was the most prolific author with the highest number of articles. A dual-map overlay of the literature revealed that research papers published in Molecular/Biology/Genetics and Health/Nursing/Medicine journals were frequently referenced in Medicine/Medical/Clinical journals. Older patients with coronavirus disease 2019, delirium, and frailty were new trends and developing areas of interest. This is the first bibliometric study focusing on critical care in older adults. The research topics indicate that a comprehensive geriatric assessment, tailored interventions, and specific therapeutic algorithms among older adults are recommended to improve outcomes. Furthermore, this study provides valuable insights for clinical decision-making, guideline development, and resource allocation in critical care settings.

Abstract
Background Epigenetics, which involves regulatory modifications that do not alter the DNA sequence itself, is crucial in the development and progression of thyroid cancer. This study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the epigenetic research landscape in thyroid cancer, highlighting current trends, major research areas, and potential future directions. Methods A bibliometric analysis was performed using data from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) up to 1 November 2023. Analytical tools such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package 'bibliometrix' were employed for comprehensive data analysis and visualization. This process identified principal research themes, along with influential authors, institutions, and countries contributing to the field. Results The analysis reveals a marked increase in thyroid cancer epigenetics research over the past two decades. Emergent key themes include the exploration of molecular mechanisms and biomarkers, various subtypes of thyroid cancer, implications for therapeutic interventions, advancements in technologies and methodologies, and the scope of translational research. Research hotspots within these themes highlight intensive areas of study and the potential for significant breakthroughs. Conclusion This study presents an in-depth overview of the current state of epigenetics in thyroid cancer research. It underscores the potential of epigenetic strategies as viable therapeutic options and provides valuable insights for researchers and clinicians in advancing the understanding and treatment of this complex disease. Future research is vital to fully leverage the therapeutic possibilities offered by epigenetics in the management of thyroid cancer.

Abstract
Background Recently, cancer neuroscience has become the focus for scientists. Interactions between the nervous system and cancer (both systemic and local) can regulate tumorigenesis, progression, treatment resistance, compromise of anti-cancer immunity, and provocation of tumor-promoting inflammation. We assessed the related research on cancer neuroscience through bibliometric analysis and explored the research status and hotspots from 2020 to 2024. Methods Publications on cancer neuroscience retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Scimago Graphica were used to analyze and visualize the result. Results A total of 744 publications were retrieved, with an upward trend in the overall number of articles published over the last 5 years. As it has the highest number of publications (n = 242) and citations (average 13.63 citations per article), the United States holds an absolute voice in the field of cancer neuroscience. The most productive organizations and journals were Shanghai Jiaotong University (n = 24) and Cancers (n = 45), respectively. Monje M (H-index = 53), Hondermarck H (H-index = 42), and Amit M (H-index = 39) were the three researchers who have contributed most to the field. From a global perspective, research hotspots in cancer neuroscience comprise nerve/neuron-tumor cell interactions, crosstalk between the nervous system and other components of the tumor microenvironment (such as immune cells), as well as the impact of tumors and tumor therapies on nervous system function. Conclusion The United States and European countries are dominating the field of cancer neuroscience, while developing countries such as China are growing rapidly but with limited impact. The next focal point in this field is likely to be neurotrophic factors. Cancer neuroscience is still in its infancy, which means that many of the interactions and mechanisms between the nervous system and cancer are not yet fully understood. Further investigation is necessary to probe the interactions of the nervous system with cancer cell subpopulations and other components of the tumor microenvironment.

Abstract
Despite the increasing number of studies on nanomedicine-based cancer immunotherapy, the overall research trends in this field remain inadequately characterized. This study aims to evaluate the research trends and hotspots in nanomedicine-based cancer immunotherapy through a bibliometric analysis. As of March 31, 2024, relevant publications were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Analytical tools including VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and an online bibliometric analysis platform were employed. A total of 5,180 publications were analyzed. The study reveals geographical disparities in research output, with China and the United States being the leading contributors. Institutionally, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Sichuan University are prominent contributors. Authorship analysis identifies key researchers, with Liu Zhuang being the most prolific author. "ACS Nano" and the "Journal of Controlled Release and Biomaterials" are identified as the leading journals in the field. Frequently occurring keywords include "cancer immunotherapy" and "drug delivery." Emerging frontiers in the field, such as "mRNA vaccine," "sonodynamic therapy," "oral squamous cell carcinoma," "STING pathway,"and "cGAS-STING pathway," are experiencing rapid growth. This study aims to provide new insights to advance scientific research and clinical applications in nanomedicine-based cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Radiation-induced brain injury (RIBI) is a debilitating sequela after cranial radiotherapy. Research on the topic of RIBI has gradually entered the public eye, with more innovations and applications of evidence-based research and biological mechanism research in the field of that. This was the first bibliometric analysis on RIBI, assessing brain injury related to radiation articles that were published during 1998-2023, to provide an emerging theoretical basis for the future development of RIBI. METHODS Literature were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) from its inception to December 31, 2023. The column of publications, author details, affiliated institutions and countries, publication year, and keywords were also recorded. RESULTS A total of 2543 journal articles were selected. The annual publications on RIBI fluctuated within a certain range. Journal of Neuro-oncology was the most published journal and Radiation Oncology was the most impactful one. LIMOLI CL was the most prolific author with 37 articles and shared the highest h-index with BARNETT GH. The top one country and institutions were the USA and the University of California System, respectively. Clusters analysis of co-keywords demonstrated that the temporal research trends in this field primarily focused on imaging examination and therapy for RIBI. CONCLUSION This study collects, visualizes, and analyzes the literature within the field of RIBI over the last 25 years to map the development process, research frontiers and hotspots, and cutting-edge directions in clinical practice and mechanisms related to RIBI.

Abstract
(1) Background: There is increasing interest in the use of platelet-rich plasma and related orthobiologics for the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal disorders in horses; however, there is no information on the bibliometric impact of the literature published in this area. (2) Methods: A bibliometric analysis was performed using the bibliometrix R package by analyzing the documents registered in the WOS and Scopus databases from 2000 to 2024. The included registers were evaluated according to the menu of results from the biblioshiny web app (overview, sources, authors, documents, words, trending topics, clustering, conceptual structure, and social structure). (3) Conclusions: The documents produced were mainly published in Frontiers in Veterinary Science, Journal of Equine Veterinary Science, BMC Veterinary Research, and the American Journal of Veterinary Research). The most productive institutions were Universidad de Caldas, Colorado State University, University of California-Davis, and University of Leipzig, and the most productive countries were the USA, Brazil, and Colombia. Horse, platelet-rich plasma, equine, osteoarthritis, and autologous conditioned serum were the most frequently used keywords. The trending topics in this area are platelet lysates and orthobiologics. The collaboration network of authors, institutions, and countries shows an isolated development of individual author networks with modest collaboration between institutions and countries.

Abstract
Background Transcutaneous Vagal Nerve Stimulation (tVNS) has been used as a promising noninvasive neuromodulation technique for the treatment of various systems.The aim of this study was to analyze the research hotspots and future directions of tVNS in the 21st century by using bibliometric methods. Methods The study object was the literature related to tVNS from the Web of Science database from 2000 to May 2024. In order to measure and analyze the number of literature issuance, institutions, authors, countries, keywords, co-citations, and journals of publication, we used VOSviewer, Citespace, Bibliometrix R-package, and Scimago Graphica software. A narrative review of the current research content of tVNS was conducted to gain a better understanding of the current state of the field. Results A total of 569 papers were included in the study. The results show that from 2000 to 2024, the number of publications shows an increasing trend year by year, involving a total of 326 research institutions. The United States, China, and Germany are the major research centers. The study identified 399 keywords, which roughly formed 11 natural clusters, revealing that the current hotspots of related research are mainly reflected in 3 areas: intervention efficacy on nervous system diseases, mechanism of action of tVNS, and stimulation mode of tVNS. The top 10 most cited references focus on research into the mechanism of action of tVNS. Conclusion The efficacy and safety of tVNS have been confirmed in previous studies, but a standardized tVNS treatment protocol has not yet been developed, and most clinical studies have small sample sizes and lack multicenter and multidisciplinary collaboration. Currently, tVNS is used in the treatment of neurological diseases, psychiatric diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and some autoimmune diseases. It is expected that future research in this field will continue to focus on the application of tVNS in central nervous system diseases and the exploration of related mechanisms, and at the same time, with the rise of non-invasive neuromodulation technology, the application of tVNS in other diseases also has great potential for development.

Abstract
Objectives: To identify the cooperation of authors, countries, institutions and explore the hot spots regarding research of renal cell carcinoma with venous tumor thrombus. Methods: Relevant articles were obtained from the Web of Science Core database (WoSC) from 1999 to 2024. CiteSpace was used to perform the analysis and visualization of scientific productivity and emerging trends. Network maps were generated to evaluate the collaborations between different authors, countries, institutions, and keywords. Results: A total of 2180 related articles were identified. We observed an increased enthusiasm in related fields during the past two decades. The USA dominated the field in all countries, and the University of Miami was the core institution. Ciancio G might have a significant influence with more publications and co-citations. Current research hotspots in this field mainly included thrombectomy, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, immune checkpoint inhibitors, vena cava inferior, and microvascular invasion. Thrombectomy complications, thrombectomy survival outcome, and preoperative neoadjuvant immunotherapy represented the frontiers of research in this field, undergoing an explosive phase. Conclusion: This is the first bibliometric study that comprehensively visualize the research trends and status of RCC with VTT. We hope that this work will provide new ideas for advancing the scientific research and clinical application.

Abstract
SCOPE Lactoferrin (LF) is an iron-bound protein with a molecular weight of about 80 kDa. LF has many biological functions such as antibacterial, antiviral, immunomodulatory, and anticancer. The purpose of this study is to explore the research trend of LF through bibliometric analysis. METHODS AND RESULTS The search is conducted in the Web of Science Core Collection database, and then the publications information of LF related literature is exported. Based on CiteSpace and VOSviewer software, countries, institutions, authors, journals, keywords, and so on are analyzed. Since 1987, a total of 9382 literature have been included, and the number of papers related to LF has increased year by year. These publications come mainly from 124 countries and 725 institutions. Of the 1256 authors analyzed, Valenti Piera is the one with the most publications. The burst strength of gut microbiota, antioxidant, nanoparticles, and in vitro digestion are 21.3, 15.63, 23.03, and 13.51, respectively. They represent the frontier of research in this field and are developing rapidly. CONCLUSION This study shows that LF has important research value. The study of LF nanoparticles and the effects of LF on the gut microbiota are an emerging field that helps to explore new research directions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The immuno-inflammatory response is a crucial early step in the development of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). In this study, we investigated whether immunoglobulin M (IgM) in the body's initial immune response can predict the prognosis of patients with ACS. METHODS This prospective cohort study enrolled 1556 ACS patients at Beijing Hospital between March 2017 and October 2020. All patients underwent coronary angiography (CAG). The serum IgM concentration and biochemical indicators were evaluated prior to CAG. The primary endpoint was the composite endpoint of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs). Multivariate Cox proportional hazards models was used to explore the association between IgM levels and the endpoint. RESULTS The average serum IgM levels of the population was 61.3 (42.6-88.4) mg/dL. During the median follow-up period of 55 months, 150 MACCEs occurred. Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that low serum IgM levels were associated with occurrence of MACCEs (log-rank p = 0.009). Univariate Cox proportional hazards models showed that low serum IgM (≤78.05 mg/dL) was associated with MACCEs (hazard ratio (HR) 1.648, 95 % confidence interval (CI): 1.129-2.406, p = 0.010). In patients with IgM ≤78.05 mg/dL, the HR for partially adjusted MACCEs events was 1.576 (95 % CI: 1.075-2.310) and 1.930 (95 % CI: 1.080-3.449) after adjusting for multiple covariates. The subgroup analysis showed that for patients in ≤24 BMI, never smoking and non-dyslipidemia subgroup, the lower serum IgM levels was significantly associated with the risk of MACCEs (pinteraction < 0.001, pinteraction = 0.037, pinteraction = 0.024, respectively). CONCLUSIONS Low serum IgM levels was independently associated with MACCEs in ACS patients, especially for patients without obesity, smoking and dyslipidemia.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Malignant tumors are one of the leading causes of death worldwide, imposing a substantial economic and social burden. Early detection is the key to improving cure rates and reducing mortality rates, which requires the development of sensitive early detection technologies. Signal amplification techniques play a crucial role in aptamer-based early detection of tumors and are increasingly garnering attention from researchers. AIM To investigate the current research status, developmental trajectories, and hotspots in signal amplification for aptamer-based tumor detection through bibliometric analysis. METHODS English publications pertaining to signal amplification in aptamer-based tumor detection were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. VOSviewer and CiteSpace software were employed to analyze various information within this field, including countries, institutions, authors, co-cited authors, journals, co-cited journals, cited references, and keywords. RESULTS A total of 757 publications were included in this study. China accounted for 85.47% of all publications, with Nanjing University (China) emerging as the institution with the highest publication output. The most influential authors and journals were Hasanzadeh M. from Iran and "Biosensors and Bioelectronics", respectively. Exosomes and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) stood out as the most researched tumor-related molecules. Currently, the predominant signal amplification technique, nanomaterial, and signal transduction method were identified as hybridization chain reactions, gold nanoparticles, and electrochemical methods, respectively. Over the past 3 years, exosomes, CEA, electrochemical biosensors, and nanosheets have emerged as research hotspots, exhibiting a robust burst of intensity. CONCLUSION This study is the first bibliometric analysis of literature on signal amplification in aptamer-based tumor detection and elucidates the current status, hotspots, and prospective research directions within this realm. Additionally, it provides an important reference for researchers.

Abstract
Many microRNAs (miRNAs) have been identified as being involved in diabetes; however, the question of which ones may be the most promising therapeutical targets still needs more investigation. This study aims to understand the overall development tendency and identify a specific miRNA molecule to attenuate diabetes. We developed a combined analysis method based on bibliometrics and bioinformatics to visualize research institutions, authors, cited references, and keywords to identify a promising target for diabetes. Our data showed that diabetes-related miRNA is receiving continuously increasing attention, with a large number of publications, indicating that this is still a hot topic in diabetes research. Scientists from different institutions are collaborating closely in this field. miR-21, miR-146a, miR-155, and miR-34a are frequently mentioned as high-frequency keywords in the related references. Moreover, among all the above miRNAs, bioinformatics analysis further strengthens the argument that miR-21 is the top significantly upregulated molecule in diabetes patients and plays an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetes. Our study may provide a way to identify targets and promote the clinical translation of miRNA-related therapeutical strategies for diabetes, which could also indicate present and future directions for research in this area.

Abstract
Background Job burnout is a worldwide public health problem that has rarely been addressed among rural medical staff, particularly in county-level hospitals. Hence, we conducted a bibliometric study to gain global insights and research trends and a cross-sectional study to assess the current situation among medical staff of county-level hospitals in Southern China. By conducting these studies, we aim to identify factors associated with burnout among medical staff of county-level hospitals in China and provide recommendations for improvement. Methods Relevant literature on job burnout among medical personnel was searched using the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). CiteSpace was employed for an in-depth cluster analysis to determine research trends and identify the study population. Subsequently, a cross-sectional survey was randomly conducted in three county-level hospitals in Hunan Province of Southern China. Job burnout and satisfaction were assessed using the Maslach Burnout Inventory MBI-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) and Job Satisfaction Questionnaire in a total of 362 valid questionnaires collected. The influence factors of the prevalence of job burnout were investigated using logistic regression. Results In this bibliometric study, 1626 articles were retrieved from 1999 to 2022. China lags behind the United States (US) in both the number and quality of publications in the field of medical staff burnout compared with the US. However, there is a lack of comparative research on job burnout across different job types. County-level medical staff articles are more in line with research hotspots in the field. In total, 362 valid questionnaires were obtained. The total incidence of job burnout among rural medical staff was 27.3 %. Nurses (p < 0.01, OR = 5.95), doctors (p < 0.01, OR = 6.43), and those with administrative jobs (p < 0.01, OR = 7.79) were more likely to experience burnout than those with technical jobs. Medical staff aged 40-49 years (p < 0.01, OR = 0.22) and 50-59 years (p < 0.05, OR = 0.14) were less likely to experience burnout than those aged 20-29 years. Job rewards satisfaction showed a positive correlation with job burnout (p < 0.01, OR = 1.32), but negative correlations with personal development satisfaction (p < 0.05, OR = 0.81) and work internal environment satisfaction (p < 0.05, OR = 0.81). Conclusion Better working environments, more accessible resources, and higher job rewards contribute to job satisfaction and reduce job burnout among the medical staff of county-level hospitals in China.

Abstract
By reviewing the relevant literature in the field of T cell and allergic rhinitis, we determined the development status, study hotspots, and research frontiers viewpoints of this field to provide a reference for researchers and clinical workers. METHODS Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was applied to obtain the studies related to T cells and allergic rhinitis (AR) from 2003 to 2023, and the information extracted from these studies was analyzed using CiteSpace 6.1. R6 and VOSviewer 1.6.18. RESULTS In total, 1585 articles were collected from WoSCC, with the time set between 2003 and 2023. Overall, a growing number of articles are being published annually. The countries and institutions with the maximum publications volume are China (370, 23.34 %) and Sun Yat-sen University (34, 2.15 %). The biggest contributor to the field was Durham, Stephen R. from the UK (22, 1.39 %). The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology published the most related papers in the field (88, 5.54 %). Immunotherapy, Th cells, and inflammation were found to be the research hotspots in this area of T cells and allergic rhinitis in recent years. Pathway, model, Regulatory T cells (Treg cells), regulatory B cells, immunoglobulin E,and innate lymphoid cells were the current research hotspots in this field. CONCLUSION The field of T cell and allergic rhinitis is developing rapidly, and many countries significantly contributed to this field. Most researchers in this field mainly focused on immunotherapy, Th cell, and inflammation. Pathway, model, Treg cell, regulatory B cell, immunoglobulin E,and innate lymphoid cells were the main subject of current research, and future development is expected to occur in this field.

Abstract
Purpose Conduct a bibliometric analysis to review the knowledge structure and research trends regarding the association between periodontal disease and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Methods The Web of Science Core collection database was searched for retrieving publications related to periodontitis and CVD between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2022. The VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and R software package "bibliometrix" were employed for the bibliometric analysis. Results In total, 3447 articles were collected from 98 countries over the past 20 years, with the United States (1,003), Japan (377), and China (321) contributing the most publications. The literature in this field exhibited exponential growth. The University of Helsinki (n = 125, 1.37 %) holds the distinction of being the research institution with the highest number of publications, with a predominant representation from institutions in the United States. Notably, the Journal of Periodontology emerges as the most popular journal in the field, whereas the Journal of Clinical Periodontology takes the lead in terms of citations. These publications originated from 15,236 authors, with Pussinen (n = 40) having the highest number of published papers and Tonetti (n = 976) garnering the most citations. The visualization analysis of keywords identified "oral microbiome," "inflammation," and "porphyromonas gingivalis" as emerging research hotspots in exploring the relationship between periodontitis and CVDs. Conclusion Through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis, this study posits that periodontitis may heighten the risk of cardiovascular events, offering valuable academic references for scholars investigating the link between periodontitis and CVDs.

Abstract
Purpose Cough variant asthma (CVA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by recurrent coughing, a prevalent cause of chronic cough in children and adults. As a unique form of asthma, researchers have recently become increasingly interested in developing effective diagnostic and treatment methods. Currently, there has been no bibliometric analysis in CVA. Therefore, this study aims to enrich this knowledge network by examining the current development status, research focal points, and emerging trends in this field. Methods Articles and reviews on CVA published between 1993 and 2022 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Relevant data from the reports were extracted, and collaborative network analysis was performed using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software. Results 772 articles were included in this study, indicating a significant increase since 2019. The countries with the highest output are China, Japan. The Journal of Asthma and Pulmonary Pharmacology Therapeutics emerged as the most prolific journals in this field. Keyword analysis revealed 22 clusters, highlighting airway inflammation, airway hyperresponsiveness, and eosinophil as the main focus and frontier of research on CVA. Conclusion From the visual analysis results, the research of CVA is still in the development stage, and there is no unified definition of pathogenesis, diagnostic criteria and treatment strategies. Therefore, researchers and teams should actively carry out cross-institutional and cross-regional cooperation, expand cooperation areas, and carry out high-quality clinical research in the future.

Abstract
Objective Candida albicans (C. albicans), an opportunistic pathogen, is implicated in the carcinogenesis of various cancers, thereby significantly impacting human health. This study conducts an in-depth analysis of the prevailing research dynamics concerning the relationship between C. albicans and cancer over the past decade, offering a comprehensive overview of the knowledge structure and emerging focal points in this field through bibliometric scrutiny. Methods A methodical quantitative and visual scrutiny of pertinent literature from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) spanning the previous decade was carried out employing VOS Viewer and CiteSpace software. Results From January 1, 2014, to January 1, 2024, a comprehensive corpus of 1,259 articles was delineated. Prominent research institutions included the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, Cairo University, and King Saud University. The top three prolific countries were the United States, China, and India. Among the authors, Mohamed, Gehad G., Mahmoud, Walaa H., and Netea, Mihai G., emerged as the most prolific, with Pfaller, Ma being distinguished as the most frequently cited author. The journal Molecules published the highest number of articles, while PLoS One had the highest citation count. Nature had the highest impact factor. The research focal points in this field encompassed the interactions between C. albicans and cancer, the correlation with oral cancer, the underlying mechanisms of C. albicans carcinogenic potential, as well as antifungal and anticancer therapies. Conclusion This investigation constitutes a pioneering bibliometric analysis elucidating the trends and advancements in research regarding the correlation between C. albicans and cancer. Said analyses uncover the prevailing research focal points and trends, offering insightful guidance for subsequent inquiry in this domain. Abstract
Background Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a nervous system disease leading to motor and sensory dysfunction below the injury level, and can result in paralysis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a key role in SCI treatment, and related research provides insights for SCI diagnosis and treatment. Bibliometrics is an important tool for literature statistics and evaluation, objectively summarizing multidimensional information. This study comprehensively overviews the field through bibliometric analysis of miRNA and SCI research, providing contemporary resources for future collaboration and clinical treatment. Materials and methods In this study, we searched the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. After careful screening and data import, we extracted annual publications, citation counts, countries, institutions, authors, journals, highly cited articles, co-cited articles, keywords, and H-index. Bibliometrics and visualization analyses employed VOSviewer, CiteSpace, the R package "bibliometrix," and online analytic platforms. Using Arrowsmith, we determined miRNA-SCI relationships and discussed potential miRNA mechanisms in SCI. Results From 2008 to 2024, the number of related papers increased annually, reaching 754. The number of yearly publications remained high and entered a period of rapid development. Researchers from 50 countries/regions, 802 institutions, 278 journals, and 3,867 authors participated in the field. Currently, China has advantages in the number of national papers, citations, institutions, and authors. However, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation among different authors, institutions, and countries to promote the production of important academic achievements. The research in the field currently focuses on nerve injury, apoptosis, and gene expression. Future research directions mainly involve molecular mechanisms, clinical trials, exosomes, and inflammatory reactions. Conclusion Overall, this study comprehensively analyzes the research status and frontier of miRNAs in SCI. A systematic summary provides a complete and intuitive understanding of the relationship between SCI and miRNAs. The presented findings establish a basis for future research and clinical application in this field.

Abstract
Objective The significance of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in the gastrointestinal tract has garnered increasing attention. In recent years, approximately 80 articles on ICC have been published annually in various journals. However, no bibliometric study has specifically focused on the literature related to ICC. Therefore, we conducted a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of ICC to reveal dynamic scientific developments, assisting researchers in exploring hotspots and emerging trends while gaining a global perspective. Methods We conducted a literature search in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2023, to identify relevant literature on ICC. We employed bibliometric software, namely VOSviewer and CiteSpace, to analyze various aspects including annual publication output, collaborations, research hotspots, current status, and development trends in this domain. Results A total of 891 English papers were published in 359 journals by 928 institutions from 57 countries/regions. According to the keyword analysis of the literature, researchers mainly focused on "c-Kit," "expression," "smooth muscle," and "nitric oxide" related to ICC over the past 11 years. However, with "SIP syncytium," "ANO1," "enteric neurons," "gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST)," and "functional dyspepsia (FD)," there has been a growing interest in the relationship between ANO1, SIP syncytium, and ICC, as well as the role of ICC in the treatment of GIST and FD. Conclusion Bibliometric analysis has revealed the current status of ICC research. The association between ANO1, SIP syncytium, enteric neurons and ICC, as well as the role of ICC in the treatment of GIST versus FD has become the focus of current research. However, further research and collaboration on a global scale are still needed. Our analysis is particularly valuable to researchers in gastroenterology, oncology, and cell biology, providing insights that can guide future research directions.

Abstract
Objective This study employs bibliometric and visual analysis to elucidate global research trends in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) biomarkers, identify critical research focal points, and discuss the potential integration of diverse biomarker modalities for precise ASD assessment. Methods A comprehensive bibliometric analysis was conducted using data from the Web of Science Core Collection database until December 31, 2022. Visualization tools, including R, VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and gCLUTO, were utilized to examine collaborative networks, co-citation patterns, and keyword associations among countries, institutions, authors, journals, documents, and keywords. Results ASD biomarker research emerged in 2004, accumulating a corpus of 4348 documents by December 31, 2022. The United States, with 1574 publications and an H-index of 213, emerged as the most prolific and influential country. The University of California, Davis, contributed significantly with 346 publications and an H-index of 69, making it the leading institution. Concerning journals, the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, Autism Research, and PLOS ONE were the top three publishers of ASD biomarker-related articles among a total of 1140 academic journals. Co-citation and keyword analyses revealed research hotspots in genetics, imaging, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, gut microbiota, and eye tracking. Emerging topics included "DNA methylation," "eye tracking," "metabolomics," and "resting-state fMRI." Conclusion The field of ASD biomarker research is dynamically evolving. Future endeavors should prioritize individual stratification, methodological standardization, the harmonious integration of biomarker modalities, and longitudinal studies to advance the precision of ASD diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
Objectives This manuscript undertakes a systematic examination of the research landscape concerning global Cryptococcus species and their dynamism with the host immune system spanning the past decade. It furnishes a detailed survey of leading knowledge institutions and critical focal points in this area, utilizing bibliometric analysis. Methods VOSviewer and CiteSpace software platforms were employed to systematically analyze and graphically depict the relevant literature indexed in the WoSCC database over the preceding ten years. Results In the interval between October 1, 2013, and October 1, 2023, a corpus of 795 publications was amassed. The primary research institutions involved in this study include Duke University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Sydney. The leading trio of nations, in terms of publication volume, comprises the United States, China, and Brazil. Among the most prolific authors are Casadevall, Arturo; Wormley, Floyd L., Jr.; and Olszewski, Michal A., with the most highly cited author being Perfect, Jr. The most esteemed journal is Mbio, while Infection and Immunity commands the highest citation frequency, and the Journal of Clinical Microbiology boasts the most significant impact factor. Present research foci encompass the intricate interactions between Cryptococcus pathogenesis and host immunity, alongside immune mechanisms, complications, and immunotherapies. Conclusion This represents the first exhaustive scholarly review and bibliometric scrutiny of the evolving landscapes in Cryptococcus research and its interactions with the host immune system. The analyses delineated herein provide insights into prevailing research foci and trajectories, thus furnishing critical directions for subsequent inquiries in this domain.
