Abstract
OBJECTIVES To compare the level of acceptance of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) treatment between different functional groups of older adults aged 65-years-old and above. METHODS Three groups were recruited representing functionally-independent ("Community dwelling"), frail ("Nursing home"), and functionally-dependent older adults ("Caregiver": proxy respondent involved in caring for an older adult of all functional levels). Participants viewed a video on SDF and an interviewer-led questionnaire collected demographics, dental experience and perception on SDF use. RESULTS The study recruited 201 participants (100 "Community dwelling", 51 "Nursing home", 50 "Caregiver"). Overall, 73 % of participants were accepting of SDF treatment. Those in the "Community dwelling" group were most accepting (85 %), followed by the "Nursing home" group (61 %) and "Caregiver" group (60 %) (p<0.001). Participants were more accepting of SDF use on posterior (73 %) compared to anterior teeth (46 %). They were more accepting when SDF was presented as a treatment to avoid infection and pain (87 %), and general anesthesia (78 %). In a regression analysis, "Nursing home" and "Caregiver" participants were three times less likely to accept SDF (OR 0.27 [95 % CI: 0.13 to 0.60], and OR 0.27 [95 % CI: 0.12 to 0.58] respectively) compared to "Community dwelling" participants. After adjusting for other factors, only the "Caregiver" group remained significant (Adjusted OR 0.32 [95 % CI: 0.13 to 0.78]). CONCLUSIONS Older adults were accepting of SDF and this treatment modality has the potential to be a routine treatment option in dental caries management in this population. However, this was less certain among frail and functionally dependent older adults. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE An SDF program to manage caries is likely to be well-received by functionally-independent older adults. However, the acceptance among frail and functionally-dependent older adults were lower even though SDF is mostly likely to benefit these populations. There is a need to investigate this relatively lower levels of acceptance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND No studies have evaluated the unique potential of nurse-led silver diamine fluoride (SDF) application for children to bridge the gap in interprofessional collaboration. AIM To investigate the attitudes, beliefs and perceptions of nurses regarding nurse-led SDF application at the well-child visit and identify possible barriers and make recommendations. DESIGN Mixed methods design involving a questionnaire and semi-structured individual interviews were conducted. RESULTS All eligible nurses (n = 110) completed the questionnaire, and 16 were interviewed. Questionnaire responses highlighted that nurses were not confident in providing oral health services (score: <3 of 5) beyond oral hygiene advice (score: ≥3.9 of 5) but believed that they should be providing these services for individuals with difficulty accessing care. Interviews reflected that most nurses viewed oral health care as an important part of paediatric health but were limited by knowledge, time and manpower. Most were willing to expand their job scope to include SDF application with formal education and training, competency assessments and approaches to counter time limitations. CONCLUSION Where nurses are already providing basic oral healthcare, nurse-led SDF application could be the next step. Findings suggest that systemic changes should include strategies to empower and motivate nurses to apply SDF at the well-child visit.

Abstract
Topical cariostatic agents have become a reasonable alternative for managing dental caries in young children. Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a practical topical approach to arrest caries and avoid extensive and risky dental treatment. However, the literature demonstrates a parental hesitation towards accepting SDF because of black unaesthetic tooth discolouration following application. The rapid oxidation of ionic silver darkens demineralised tooth structure permanently. In this regard, nano-metallic antimicrobials could augment or substitute for silver, and thereby enhance SDF aesthetic performance. Recently, biomedical research has drawn attention to selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) due to their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and antiviral potencies. Various in vitro studies have examined the effect of SeNPs on the virulence of bacteria. This narrative review explores practical issues when using SDF and suggests future directions to develop it, focusing on antimicrobial metals. Several methods are described that could be followed to reduce the discolouration concern, including the use of nanoparticles of silver, of silver fluoride, or of selenium or other metals with antimicrobial actions. There could also be value in using remineralising agents other than fluoride, such as NPs of hydroxyapatite. There could be variations made to formulations in order to lower the levels of silver and fluoride in the SDF or even to replace one or both of the silver and fluoride components completely. Moreover, since oxidation processes appear central to the chemistry of the staining, adding SeNPs which have antioxidant actions could have an anti-staining benefit; SeNPs could be used for their antimicrobial actions as well. Future research should address the topic of selenium chemistry to optimise how SeNPs would be used with or in place of ionic silver. Incorporating other antimicrobial metals as nanoparticles should also be explored, taking into account the optimal physicochemical parameters for each of these.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to characterize the cytotoxicity potential of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) on dental pulp stem cells (DPSC) and gingival equivalents. METHODS DPSC cultured on 96-well plates was exposed directly to SDF (0.0001-0.01%) and cell viability (IC50) quantified. Effect of SDF on DPSC viability under flow (with dentin barrier) conditions was evaluated using a custom-designed microfluidic "tooth-on-a-chip". Permeability of dentin discs (0.5-1.5 mm thickness) was evaluated using lucifer yellow permeation assay. Dentin discs were treated with 38% SDF (up to 3 h), and cell viability (live/dead assay) of the DPSC cultured in the inlet (unexposed) and outlet (exposed) regions of the pulp channel was evaluated. To assess the mucosal corrosion potential, gingival equivalents were treated with 38% SDF for 3 or 60 min (OECD test guideline 431) and characterized by MTT assay and histomorphometric analysis. RESULTS DPSC exposed directly to SDF showed a dose-dependent reduction in cell viability (IC50: 0.001%). Inlet channels (internal control) of the tooth-on-a-chip exposed to PBS and SDF-exposed dentin discs showed> 85% DPSC viability. In contrast, the outlet channels of SDF-exposed dentin discs showed a decreased viability of< 31% and 0% (1.5 and ≤1.0 mm thick dentin disc, respectively) (p < 0.01). The gingiva equivalents treated with SDF for 3 and 60 min demonstrated decreased epithelial integrity, loss of intercellular cohesion and corneal layer detachment with significant reduction in intact epithelial thickness (p < 0.05). SIGNIFICANCE SDF penetrated the dentin (≤1 mm thick) inducing significant death of the pulp cells. SDF also disrupted gingival epithelial integrity resulting in mucosal corrosion.

Abstract
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has been useful in clinical dentistry for the purpose of caries arrest and prevention. Although methods for the application of SDF are well-known among dental professionals, such as microbrush applications, few studies have explored the effect of light curing, which accelerates precipitation onto dentin, and whether this has any effect on the antimicrobial properties of SDF. To assess this technique, single (Streptococcus gordonii) and polymicrobial (mixed salivary) colonies were grown and plated using SDF applied to hydroxyapatite discs with and without treatment with curing light. Kirby-Bauer Zone of Inhibition assay results revealed no significant differences in the areas between the two treatment groups (SDF: 1.27 mm, SDF plus curing light: 1.25 mm), p = 0.887 in the single culture (S. gordonii) experiments. In addition, no significant differences were found between the two treatment groups (SDF: 1.26 mm, SDF plus curing light: 1.24 mm), p = 0.771 in the polymicrobial culture experiments. Although there may be specific properties associated with SDF induced following light curing, these differences do not appear to be associated with the antimicrobial properties affecting gram-positive or polymicrobial films.

Abstract
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has been used for many years for the treatment of caries, and minimally invasive dentistry concepts have made it popular again. The fact that its application does not require the administration of anesthesia makes its use in children more desirable. The aim of this study was to determine the cytotoxicity of two new commercial SDF products: Riva Star (SDI Dental Limited) and e-SDF (Kids-e-Dental) on mesenchymal stromal cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHEDs). SHEDs were exposed to SDF products at different concentrations (0.1%, 0.01% and 0.005%). Then different assays were performed to evaluate their cytocompatibility on SHEDs: IC50, MTT, cell migration (wound healing), cell cytoskeleton staining, cell apoptosis, generation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), and ion chromatography. Statistical analyses were performed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s post hoc test (p < 0.05). Riva Star Step 2 showed the same cell metabolic activity when compared to the control condition at any time and concentration. Meanwhile, e-SDF displayed high cytotoxicity at any time and any concentration (*** p < 0.001), whereas Riva Star Step 1 displayed high cytotoxicity at any time at 0.1% and 0.01% (*** p < 0.001). Only e-SDF showed a statistically significant decreased cell migration rate (*** p < 0.001) at all times and in all concentrations. At 0.1%, e-SDF and Riva Star Step 1 only showed 4.37% and 4.47% of viable cells, respectively. These results suggest that Riva Star has better in vitro cytocompatibility on SHEDs than does e-SDF. Riva Star Step 1 was found to be as cytotoxic as e-SDF, but it had better biological properties when mixed with Riva Star Step 2. Our findings suggest that Riva Star is more suitable when used in deciduous teeth due to its lower cytotoxicity compared to e-SDF.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The original English version of the questionnaire 'Parental Perceptions of SDF Dental Color Changes' was used among parents in the New York City metropolitan area. AIM To develop an Italian version of the questionnaire and to assess its validity. DESIGN The construct validity and the internal consistency were assessed in a convenience sample of Italian parents of 251 young healthy children seen at the University of Bologna and Pisa. Forward-backward technique was carried out for the translation of the questionnaire. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin measure of sampling adequacy was equal to 0.91, and Bartlett's test of sphericity was statistically significant (P = .001), so the items were treated with the exploratory principal component analysis (PCA). RESULTS Cronbach's alpha ranged from 0.69 to 0.95. PCA demonstrates that all the items load on the first component (87% of explained variance). All the Spearman correlation coefficients between each subscale (positive scenario: 0.563; negative scenario: 0.665) and the general acceptability showed significant correlation (P = .0001). Different age, educational level, and family income of the parents did not produce statistically significant different scores on any of the subscales (P > .05; Mann-Whitney test). CONCLUSION The Italian version of the questionnaire showed high internal consistency and construct validity and was appropriate to be used in an Italian population.

Abstract
Silver diamine nitrate (SDN) is expected to help control caries similar to silver diamine fluoride (SDF). The aim of this study was to determine the mineral precipitation in demineralized dentin and the cytotoxicity of SDN and SDF to dental pulp cells. Demineralized dentin specimens were prepared, and SDF, SDN, or water (control) was applied. The specimens were then remineralized in simulated body fluid for 2 weeks. The mineral precipitation in the specimens was examined using FTIR-ATR, SEM-EDX, and synchrotron radiation X-ray tomographic microscopy (SRXTM). Additionally, the cytotoxicity of SDF and SDN to human dental pulp stem cells was analyzed using an MTT assay. The increase in FTIR spectra attributable to apatite formation in demineralized dentin in the SDF group was significantly higher compared to the SDN and control groups (p < 0.05). Dentinal tubule occlusion by the precipitation of silver salts was detected in both SDF and SDN groups. The mineral density as shown in SRXTM images and cytotoxicity of both SDN and SDF groups were comparable (p > 0.05). In conclusion, SDF demonstrated superior in vitro apatite formation compared to SDN. However, the degree of mineral precipitation and cytotoxic effects of both were similar.

Abstract
PURPOSE To systematically evaluate the available evidence regarding contemporary management of deep caries in vital primary teeth. This review was carried out to facilitate the development of European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD) guidelines on deep caries management of primary teeth in paediatric dentistry. METHODS A systematic electronic literature search was conducted to locate studies reporting on interventions and medicaments used for the treatment of deep caries in vital primary teeth. To facilitate this, the Cochrane Library (1992 to up to December 6th, 2020), MEDLINE (PubMed, 1946 to December Week 1, 2020), Ovid MEDLINE (In-Process & Other Non-Indexed Citations, December 6th, 2020); EMBASE (Embase.com, 1974 to December 6th, 2020) and LILACS (1982 to December 6th, 2020) were accessed. Hand search of reference lists of included articles, as well as handbooks and grey literature search was also performed. Study screening was done in duplicate and study inclusions were agreed upon by all authors. Data extraction, and methodological quality and risk of bias assessment were carried out in duplicate for each of the included studies. Overall success rate of each intervention and medicament within the intervention was reported. Meta-analysis was also performed for high-quality studies reporting similar interventions and comparable outcomes in homogeneous population. RESULTS A total of 1332 papers were identified. Following the primary and secondary assessment process, 36 papers were included in the review. Of these, 8 papers were deemed to represent 4 individual studies, leaving a total of 32 unique studies eventually included in the final analysis. These studies were further categorized into three main vital pulp treatment methods for analysis: indirect pulp capping (IPC), direct pulp capping (DPC), and pulpotomy (PP). Overall, IPC, DPC and PP interventions have high success rates with the reported clinical success rates higher than radiographic success rates. Medicaments used for IPC and DPC have similar success rates. Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), ferric sulfate (FS) and formocresol (FC) PP showed similar success rates, and which were all higher than calcium hydroxide (CH). Majority of included studies (n = 22; 63%) were rated low in terms of their potential risk of bias, 6 studies were rated high (17%), and 7 studies were of unclear risk (20%). CONCLUSION Within the limitations of the studies included, IPC, DPC, and PP can be recommended as effective treatment modalities for primary teeth with deep caries under specific conditions.

Abstract
In recent years, due to a better understanding of the caries pathology and advances in dental materials, the utilization of non-invasive and minimally invasive techniques that delay/obviate the need for traditional restorations has started gaining momentum. This literature review focuses on some of these approaches, including fluoride varnish, silver diamine fluoride, resin sealants, resin infiltration, chemomechanical caries removal and atraumatic restorative treatment, in the context of their chemistries, indications for use, clinical efficacy, factors determining efficacy and limitations. Additionally, we discuss strategies currently being explored to enhance the antimicrobial properties of these treatment modalities to expand the scope of their application.

Abstract
Objectives This study evaluated and compared the effect of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and silver-modified atraumatic restorative treatment (SMART) sealants for the treatment of initial carious lesions of permanent molars affected by molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH). Methods One hundred and twelve hypomineralized permanent molars with ICDAS 1 or 2 lesions were selected in 48 children. The teeth were randomized into SDF and SMART sealant groups (n = 56 teeth/group) in a split-mouth fashion. Hypersensitivity, formation of caries, and enamel breakdown were evaluated in both groups. Hypersensitivity was assessed by Schiff Cold Air Sensitivity Scale (SCASS), and clinical assessments of SMART sealants were performed according to modified USPHS criteria at 1, 6, and 12 months. The data were analyzed statistically using Fisher’s exact test, Kaplan–Meier analysis, Mann–Whitney U test, and Friedman test. Results Twenty-six hypomineralized molars with marked baseline hypersensitivity showed significantly lower SCASS scores at all evaluation periods (p < 0.001). There was no significant difference in hypersensitivity scores between the groups at the repeated applications of SDF at 1, 6, and 12 months. The cumulative survival rates of SMART sealants on occlusal and palatal surfaces were 88.7% and 58.8%, respectively. Conclusions In hypomineralized molars, both SDF and SMART sealants showed favorable short-term prevention against dental caries while providing effective desensitization. Marginal discoloration was the most common side effect of the SMART sealants as a result of SDF application. Clinical Significance Both SDF and SMART sealants showed similar short-term effectiveness as non-aerosol procedures in arresting enamel caries and reducing hypersensitivity in hypomineralized molars. Abstract
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a cost-effective method for arresting active dental caries. However, the limited cooperation of patients may lead to an SDF application time that is shorter than the recommended 1-3 min for carious lesions. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the effect of different application times of SDF on the degree of mineral precipitation in demineralized dentin. Demineralized dentin specimens from permanent maxillary molars were treated by applying 38% SDF for 30, 60, or 180 s. Water was applied in the control group. The specimens were immersed in simulated body fluid for 2 weeks, and the mineral precipitation in demineralized dentin was then analyzed using FTIR-ATR, SEM-EDX, and synchrotron radiation X-ray tomographic microscopy (SRXTM). The FTIR-ATR results showed a significant increase in mineral precipitation in the 180 s group after 1 week. However, after 2 weeks, the SRXTM images indicated comparable mineral density between the 30, 60, and 180 s groups. The precipitation of silver chloride and calcium phosphate crystals that occluded dentinal tubules was similar in all experimental groups. In conclusion, an application time of either 30, 60, or 180 s promoted a comparable degree of mineral precipitation in demineralized dentin.

Abstract
The actual contribution of silver in silver diamine fluoride (SDF) towards the anti‐demineralizing effect is unclear. This study compared the effects of single applications of three concentrations of fluoride (4.1%, 1.025%, 0.26% F−) in the form of SDF and potassium fluoride (KF) on demineralized dentin in a 15‐day non‐microbial pH‐cycling model. Calcium loss and uptake in de‐ and remineralization buffers were analyzed daily. Fluoride release in both buffers was analyzed on days 1, 2, 3, and 8. The net calcium results of de‐ and remineralization cycles revealed dose‐response protection without significant differences between equal fluoride concentrations of SDF and KF. In the demineralization cycles, all fluoride treatments, except KF 0.26% F−, significantly inhibited demineralization, with KF 4.1% F− being the most effective. In the remineralization cycles, remineralization was enhanced in all fluoride concentration groups in a dose‐response manner with no difference between similar fluoride concentrations of SDF and KF. Daily fluoride effects were constant throughout the experiment. Fluoride analysis revealed statistically significant differences in fluoride release between the treatments on day 1 that diminished on days 2 and 3. The non‐microbial model showed no differences between SDF and KF in inhibiting demineralization and enhancing remineralization of dentin lesions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study investigated the ability of SDF, and its individual components, silver (Ag+) and fluoride (F-) ions, in preventing enamel demineralization under pH-cycling conditions in the presence or absence of twice-daily fluoride application. DESIGN Polished human enamel specimens were assigned to five treatment groups (n = 36 per group): SDF (38 %); SDF followed by application of a saturated solution of potassium iodide (SDF + KI); silver nitrate (AgNO3; silver control, 253,900 ppm Ag); potassium fluoride (KF; fluoride control, 44,800 ppm F); deionized water. Treatments were applied once. Specimens in each treatment group were divided into two subgroups (n = 18). During the subsequent 7-day pH-cycling phase, specimens were treated twice daily with either 275 ppm fluoride as sodium fluoride or deionized water, immediately before and after a 3-h cariogenic challenge with exposure to artificial saliva at all other times. Changes in color, Vickers surface microhardness (SMH), transverse microradiography (TMR) was calculated. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. RESULTS In both models, SDF, SDF + KI and KF were superior in inhibiting demineralization compared to AgNO3 and deionized water (p < 0.0001). There was no statistically significant difference between SDF, SDF + KI and KF with twice daily fluoride treatments (p > 0.8). However, KF was more effective in preventing demineralization than SDF and SDF + KI in the absence of fluoride treatments (p = 0.0002). KI did not affect the ability of SDF to prevent demineralization (p > 0.4). CONCLUSION SDF and SDF + KI appears to be an effective option in preventing primary coronal caries.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may have concerns with fluoride/silver content in silver diammine fluoride (SDF). AIM To compare parental acceptance of SDF and dental fear between children with and without ASD. DESIGN Three hundred parents were enrolled. Demographics, dental history, and dental fear were recorded. Subjects viewed an educational video and completed survey about SDF acceptance including the following: (a) overall acceptance, (b) aesthetic concerns by tooth location, (c) fluoride/silver concerns, and (d) its use as a general anaesthesia (GA) alternative. Descriptive, bivariate, and multivariate analyses were used. RESULTS Significantly, more children with ASD had dental fear (ASD: 56% vs neurotypical: 26%). No differences in acceptance existed between the two groups overall or with respect to aesthetics, fluoride/silver content, or as an alternative to GA. Overall acceptance is >60%. Regardless of group, parents of older children were less likely to accept SDF as an alternative to GA (OR = 0.67 [95% CI: 0.50-0.90]). CONCLUSION Parents of children with ASD had similar acceptance of SDF use compared to parents of neurotypical children. Children with ASD had higher levels of dental fear. Parents of younger children are more likely to accept SDF as an alternative to GA in both groups.

Abstract
Abstract The aim of this in vitro study was to determine the fluoride concentration in silver diamine fluoride (SDF) products and their bioavailability with demineralized dentine. The products evaluated (expected fluoride concentrations) were: I: Saforide 38% (45,283 ppm F); II: Advantage Arrest 38.3 to 43.2% (45,283 to 51,013 ppm F); III: Ancárie 12% (14,100 ppm F); IV: Ancárie 30% (35,400 ppm F), V: Cariestop 12% (14,100 ppm F) and VI: Cariestop 30% (35,400 ppm F). The fluoride concentration was evaluated using an ion-specific electrode (ISE) by direct technique, which was confirmed after microdiffusion. The pH of the products was determined with a pH test strip. For the bioavailability test, demineralized dentine slabs were treated with one of the products for 1 min. Loosely (CaF2-like) and firmly-bound fluoride (FAp) were determined. The fluoride concentration found in the products (mean±SD; ppm F) by the ISE direct technique was: I:53,491±554; II:57,249±1,851; III:4,814±268; IV:5,726±43; V:10,145±468; VI:11,858±575; these values were confirmed after microdiffusion (t-test; p>0.05) and disagree with the declared by the manufacturers. The pH of Ancárie 12 and 30% was 6.0 and 4.5, respectively, in disagreement with the alkaline pH expected for SDF solution and found in the other products evaluated. There was no correlation between either CaF2-like (r=0.221; p=0.337) or FAp (r=-0.144; p=0.830) formed in demineralized dentine and fluoride concentration found in the products. The problems of pH and fluoride concentration found in available professional commercial SDF products suggest that they are not under sanitary surveillance.

Abstract
Background Interest in aqueous silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has been growing as a treatment for caries arrest. A cross-sectional study was conducted to identify factors associated with caregiver acceptance of SDF treatment for children presenting with caries at 8 Federally Qualified Health Centers. The study purpose was to examine associations between caregiver acceptance of SDF treatment for children with caries and (1) sociodemographic and acculturation characteristics of caregivers and (2) clinical assessments of the children by dentists. Methods A caregiver survey collected information on: sociodemographic characteristics; acculturation characteristics, measured using the validated Short Acculturation Scale for Hispanics (SASH); perceived benefits and barriers of SDF treatment, including caregiver comfort; and perceived health-related knowledge. Chart reviews were conducted to assess: the medical / dental insurance of pediatric patients; cumulative caries experience, measured using decayed, missing, filled teeth total scores (dmft / DMFT); whether operating room treatment was needed; and a record of caregiver acceptance of SDF treatment (the outcome measure). Standard logistic regression models were developed for caregiver acceptance of SDF treatment for their children as the binary outcome of interest (yes / no) to calculate unadjusted odds ratios (OR) and adjusted ORs for covariates of interest. Results Overall, 434 of 546 caregivers (79.5%) accepted SDF treatment for their children. A U-shaped relationship between caregiver odds of accepting SDF treatment and age group of pediatric patients was present, where caregivers were most likely to accept SDF treatment for their children who were either < 6 years or 9–14 years, and least likely to accept SDF treatment for children 6 to < 9 years. The relationship between acculturation and caregiver acceptance of SDF treatment depended upon whether or not caregivers were born in the United States: greater acculturation was associated with caregiver acceptance of SDF treatment among caregivers born in this country, and lower acculturation was associated with caregiver acceptance of SDF treatment among caregivers born elsewhere. Conclusions Caregiver acceptance of SDF treatment is high; child’s age and caregiver comfort are associated with acceptance. Providers need to communicate the risks and benefits of evidence-based dental treatments to increasingly diverse caregiver and patient populations.

Abstract
Purpose: Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is an effective caries control agent. The aim of our study was to investigate the parental acceptance of the utilization of SDF on their child's primary and permanent teeth and to determine the factors that influence their decision-making. Patients and methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study included parents of healthy children aged 12 years and younger and currently receiving dental treatment. The interview questionnaire was conducted and pre-tested for face and content validity. The trained interviewing dentists showed colored pictures of primary and permanent teeth before and after receiving SDF treatment. The statistical significance was set at P<0.05. Results: A total of 104 parents were included in the study. The mean parental rating of treatment acceptability of the staining associated with SDF was 3.9±1.95. The plurality considered the staining caused by SDF treatment strongly not acceptable 46 (43.4%). Parental acceptance of SDF treatment was significantly affected by the location and type of teeth. Parents showed significantly higher acceptance of SDF treatment on their child's primary compared to permanent teeth and posterior compared to anterior in both dentitions (P<0.001). In addition, parents of children with a history of uncooperative behavior during previous dental treatment were significantly more accepting of SDF treatment regardless of the type and location of the teeth. Conclusion: Parental acceptance of SDF increased for primary compared to permanent teeth, on anterior compared to posterior teeth in both dentitions and for uncooperative children.
