Abstract
A single metal-organic framework (MOF) exhibits some drawbacks in deep adsorptive desulfurization such as insufficient functional active sites, water instability, low surface area, etc. Herein, a dual-amino-functionalized (ZIF-8-NH2)-PVP-(Cu-BTC-NH2) core-shell dual MOF adsorbent was first synthesized by the hydrothermal growth method. The adsorption performance of thiophene sulfur (ThS) is systematically investigated and evaluated at mild temperatures through batch tests. The (ZIF-8-NH2)-PVP-(Cu-BTC-NH2) exhibits good adsorption ability toward ThS, which is attributed to the associative effects of dual MOFs with structure features such as hydrogen bond, open metal active sites, suitable pore sizes and π-π conjugation, etc. Meanwhile, the (ZIF-8-NH2)-PVP-(Cu-BTC-NH2) embedded 25 wt % water still remains crystal intact and good adsorption desulfurization performance, which is attributed to the NH2- functional groups. After five recycles, more than 90% ThS uptake onto (ZIF-8-NH2)-PVP-(Cu-BTC-NH2) could be recovered, exhibiting good reuse performance. This study presents a new strategy for grafting MOF-on-MOF with specific functional groups to improve the abilities of desulfurization and water resistance.

Abstract
Herein, metal-organic framework (MOF)-based adsorbents are designed with distinct hard and soft metal building units, namely, [Co2ICoII(PD)2(BP)] (Co_PD-BP) and [Cu2ICuII(PD)2(BP)] (Cu_PD-BP), where H2PD = pyrazine-1,4-diide-2,3-dicarboxylic acid and BP = 4,4'-bipyridine. The designed MOFs were characterized via spectral and SCXRD techniques, which confirm the mixed-valent states (+1 and +2) of the metal ions. Topological analysis revealed the rare ths and gwg topologies for Co MOF, while Cu-MOF exhibits a unique 8T21 topology in the 8-c net (point symbol for net: {424·64}). Moreover, severe environmental issues can be resolved by effectively removing heterocyclic organosulfur compounds from fuels via adsorptive desulfurization. Further, the developed MOFs were investigated for sulfur removal via adsorptive desulfurization from a model fuel consisting of dibenzothiophene (DBT), benzothiophene (BT), and thiophene (T) in the liquid phase using n-octane as a solvent. The findings revealed that Cu_PD-BP effectively removes the DBT with a removal efficiency of 86% at 300 ppm and an operating temperature of 25 °C, with a recyclability of up to four cycles. The adsorption kinetic analysis showed that the pseudo-first-order model could fit better with the experimental data indicating the physisorption process. Further, the studies revealed that adsorption capacity increased with the increasing initial DBT concentration with a remarkable capacity of 70.5 mg/g, and the adsorption process was well described by the Langmuir isotherm. The plausible reason behind the enhanced removal efficiency shown by Cu_PD-BP as compared to Co_PD-BP could be the soft-soft interactions between soft sulfur and soft Cu metal centers. Interestingly, density functional theory (DFT) studies were done in order to predict the mechanism of binding of thiophenic compounds with Cu_PD-BP, which further ascertained that along with other interactions, the S···π and S···Cu interactions predominate, resulting in a high uptake of DBT as compared to others. In essence, Cu_PD-BP turns out to be a promising adsorbent in the field of fuel desulfurization for the benefit of mankind.

Abstract
Bacterial infection continues to be an increasing global health problem with the most widely accepted treatment paradigms restricted to antibiotics. However, the overuse and misuse of antibiotics have triggered multidrug resistance of bacteria, frustrating therapeutic outcomes, and leading to higher mortality rates. Even worse, the tendency of bacteria to form biofilms on living and nonliving surfaces further increases the difficulty in confronting bacteria because the extracellular matrix can act as a robust barrier to prevent the penetration of antibiotics and resist environmental damage. As a result, the inability to eliminate bacteria and biofilms often leads to persistent infection, implant failure, and device damage. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to develop alternative antimicrobial agents while avoiding the generation of bacterial resistance to prevent the large-scale growth of bacterial resistance. In recent years, nano-antibacterial materials have played a vital role in the antibacterial field because of their excellent physical and chemical properties. This review focuses on new physicochemical antibacterial strategies and versatile antibacterial nanomaterials, especially the mechanism and types of 2D antibacterial nanomaterials. In addition, this advanced review provides guidance on the development direction of antibiotic-free disinfections in the antibacterial field in the future.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have proven to be very effective carriers for drug delivery in various biological applications. In recent years, the development of hybrid nanostructures has made significant progress, including developing an innovative MOF-loaded nanocomposite with a highly porous structure and low toxicity that can be used to fabricate core-shell nanocomposites by combining complementary materials. This review study discusses using MOF materials in cancer treatment, imaging, and antibacterial effects, focusing on oral cancer cells. For patients with oral cancer, we offer a regular program for accurately designing and producing various anticancer and antibacterial agents to achieve maximum effectiveness and the lowest side effects. Also, we want to ensure that the anticancer agent works optimally and has as few side effects as possible before it is tested in vitro and in vivo. It is also essential that new anticancer drugs for cancer treatment are tested for efficacy and safety before they go into further research.

Abstract
The loading dependence of self-diffusion coefficients (Ds) of NO2, SO2, and their equimolar binary mixture in MIL-47(V) have been investigated by using classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The Ds of NO2 are found to be two orders of magnitude greater than SO2 at low loadings and temperatures, and its Ds decreases monotonically with loading. The Ds of SO2 exhibit two diffusion patterns, indicating the specific interaction between the gas molecules and the MIL-47(V) lattice. The maximum activation energy (Ea) in the pure component and in the mixture for SO2 are 16.43 and 18.35 kJ mol-1, and for NO2 are 2.69 and 1.89 kJ mol-1, respectively. It is shown that SO2 requires more amount of energy than NO2 to increase the diffusion rate. The radial distribution functions (RDFs) of gas-gas and gas-lattice indicate that the Oh of MIL-47(V) are preferential adsorption site for both NO2 and SO2 molecules. However, the presence of the hydrogen bonding (HB) interaction between the O of SO2 and the H of MIL-47(V) and also their binding angle (θ(OHC)) of 120° with the linkers of lattice indicate a stronger binding interaction between the SO2 and the MIL-47(V), but it does not occur with NO2. The jump-diffusion of SO2 between adsorption sites within the lattice has been confirmed by the 2D density distribution plots. Moreover, the extraordinarily high Sdiff for NO2/SO2 of 623.4 shows that NO2 can diffuse through the MIL-47(V) significantly faster than SO2, especially at low loading and temperature.

Abstract
AbstractMetal–organic frameworks (Cr-MOF and Fe-MOF) and their graphene hybride nano-composites were prepared via green solvo-themal method. The prepared samples were characterized by XRD, FTIR spectroscopy, N2 adsorption–desorption isotherm and XPS. The composites were used for the adsorption of thiophenic sulfur compound (thiophene, dibenzothiophene, 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene) in a model fuel oil. It was found that, graphene in the MOF composite has positive effect on sulfur removal. The removal efficiency increase from 62% to % 95.6 using Fe-MOF and Fe-MOF/Gr (9:1), respectively. This enhancement effect is attributed to a greater number of coordinatively unsaturated sites (CUS) in the composites. The results indicated that the adsorption reach to 96.6% for DBT adsorption from model diesel oil and 62% for diesel fuel on using Cr-MOF/Gr composite.

Abstract
Triangular silver(i) and copper(i) 3,5-diethyl-4-nitropyrazolates (abbreviated as [Ag(denpz)]3 or Ag3pz3, and [Cu(denpz)]3 or Cu3pz3), as well as their adducts with dibenzothiophene (DBT), 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene (DMDBT) and benzothiophene (BT), have been prepared and characterized by a series of techniques. X-ray analyses show that these adducts are stabilized by MS, MC contacts and ππ stacking interactions. NMR measurements and theoretical calculations indicate that the intensity of interaction between the metal complexes and dibenzothiophenes follows the trend: Ag3pz3-DMDBT > Ag3pz3-DBT > Cu3pz3-DMDBT > Cu3pz3-DBT, which can be understood on the basis of a weak interaction between π-acid (Ag3pz3 or Cu3pz3) and π-base (DBT/DMDBT). Both complexes show good adsorptive ability and reusability toward the removal of DBT and DMDBT from model oil (n-octane), with the maximum adsorption capacity at room temperature being 39 mg S (DMDBT) per g Cu3pz3, 34 mg S (DMDBT) per g Ag3pz3, 40 mg S (DBT) per g Cu3pz3, 36 mg S (DBT) per g Ag3pz3, respectively. Compared to Ag3pz3, Cu3pz3 exhibits higher adsorptive capacities for DBT/DMDBT, which has been attributed to its lower molecular mass.

Abstract
The purification of contaminated water and fuel is very important for our sustainability. Adsorptive removal has attracted significant attention because of possible applications in industry and the rapid development of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which can be competitive adsorbents. In this review, the possible/competitive purification of water (contaminated with organics) and fuel (composed of S- and N-Containing compounds) via adsorption using MOFs, especially those with various functional groups (FGs), will be discussed. The contribution of FGs such as -OH, -COOH, -SO3H, -NH2, and -NH3+ to adsorption/purification will be analyzed in detail, not only to understand the plausible adsorption mechanism but also to utilize specific FGs in adsorption. Moreover, methods for introducing FGs onto MOFs will be summarized. Finally, the prospects for both adsorption/removal and emerging fields will be suggested. Studies for practical applications in industry with shaped MOFs from inexpensive route will be important. The solution pH should be considered for the adsorption of aqueous solution. Applications of MOFs in other fields like storage/delivery and enrichment of analytes might be deeply studied.

Abstract
The determination of organic and inorganic pollutants in fish samples is a complex and demanding process, due to their high protein and fat content. Various novel sorbents including graphene, graphene oxide, molecular imprinted polymers, carbon nanotubes and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been reported for the extraction and preconcentration of a wide range of contaminants from fish tissue. MOFs are crystalline porous materials that are composed of metal ions or clusters coordinated with organic linkers. Those materials exhibit extraordinary properties including high surface area, tunable pore size as well as good thermal and chemical stability. Therefore, metal-organic frameworks have been recently used in many fields of analytical chemistry including sample pretreatment, fabrication of stationary phases and chiral separations. Various MOFs, and especially their composites or hybrids, have been successfully utilized for the sample preparation of fish samples for the determination of organic (i.e., antibiotics, antimicrobial compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, etc.) and inorganic pollutants (i.e., mercury, palladium, cadmium, lead, etc.) as such or after functionalization with organic compounds.
