Abstract
OBJECTIVE Participating in physical activity during pregnancy has benefited a lot from maternal and child health. However, there are few longitudinal studies describing activity patterns and related factors during pregnancy. The aim of this study is to investigate longitudinal physical activity changes and the influencing factors of Chinese pregnant women. METHODS From January to August 2020, 240 pregnant women were recruited in Hangzhou, China. Physical activity during pregnancy was assessed in the first, second, and third trimesters of pregnancy by using the Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire. RESULTS The daily energy consumption during first, second, and third trimesters was 20.55, 20.76, 17.19 METs-h/d. The results of repeated-measure analysis of variance and pairwise comparison showed that the total daily energy consumption of physical activity in the third trimester was significantly lower than that in the first and second trimesters, with statistical significance (p < 0.001). The generalized estimation equation showed that education level, pre-pregnancy BMI, gravidity, unnaturally conceived and pre-pregnancy exercise habits were the influencing factors of physical activity during pregnancy (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION Physical activity levels of pregnant women during different trimester were not optimistic. In order to improve physical activity during pregnancy and promote the health status of both mother and the developing baby, more attention should be paid on pregnant women with low education level, high BMI before pregnancy, primipara, unnaturally conceived and no good exercise habits before pregnancy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Existing cross-sectional studies suggest a strong positive association between Internet use, physical activity, and mental health in older adults; however, longitudinal studies reporting the relationship between Internet use, physical activity, and levels of depressive symptoms in older adults are lacking. This study aimed to examine the bidirectional relationship between Internet use and depressive symptoms in older adults and its underlying mechanisms. METHODS We used two waves of follow-up data (2016 and 2018) from the China Family Panel Studies, including 5837 participants aged 60 years or above. The bidirectional relationship between Internet usage time and depressive symptoms was examined using a cross-lagged model. The mediating role of physical exercise was examined using a half-longitudinal mediation model. RESULTS The results revealed a bidirectional relationship between Internet use time, frequency of physical activity, and depressive symptoms. Longer Internet use predicted lower levels of depressive symptoms, and the frequency of physical activity mediated the longitudinal relationship between Internet use and depressive symptoms in older adults. LIMITATIONS First, our study used self-report-based variables. Second, our study did not obtain the specific timing of the application of various functions of the Internet and the intensity of physical activity among older adults. Finally, based on the availability of data, our study involved only two waves of data. This may not be sufficient for a full longitudinal mediation effect test. CONCLUSIONS Internet use and depressive symptoms were interrelated over time among older adults. The frequency of physical activity was a mediator of Internet use and depressive symptoms. This underscores the importance of Internet-based technologies to enable healthy living and prevent depression and loneliness in older adults.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) accounts for the majority of gastric cancer (GC) cases globally. The present study found that H. pylori promoted GC stem cell (CSC)-like properties, therefore, the regulatory mechanism of how H. pylori promotes GC stemness was explored. METHODS Spheroid-formation experiments were performed to explore the self-renewal capacity of GC cells. The expression of R-spondin 3 (RSPO3), Nanog homeobox, organic cation/carnitine transporter-4 (OCT-4), SRY-box transcription factor 2 (SOX-2), CD44, Akt, glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β), p-Akt, p-GSK-3β, β-catenin, and G protein subunit gamma 7 (GNG7) were detected by RT-qPCR, western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence. Co-immunoprecipitation (CoIP) and liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) were performed to identify proteins interacting with RSPO3. Lentivirus-based RNA interference constructed short hairpin (sh)-RSPO3 GC cells. Small interfering RNA transfection was performed to inhibit GNG7. The in vivo mechanism was verified using a tumor peritoneal seeding model in nude mice. RESULTS H. pylori extracts promoted a CSC-like phenotype in GC cells and elevated the expression of RSPO3. RSPO3 knockdown significantly reduced the CSC-like properties induced by H. pylori. Previous studies have demonstrated that RSPO3 potentiates the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, but the inhibitor of Wnt cannot diminish the RSPO3-induced activation of β-catenin. CoIP and LC-MS/MS revealed that GNG7 is one of the transmembrane proteins interacting with RSPO3, and it was confirmed that RSPO3 directly interacted with GNG7. Recombinant RSPO3 protein increased the phosphorylation level of Akt and GSK-3β, and the expression of β-catenin in GC cells, but this regulatory effect of RSPO3 could be blocked by GNG7 knockdown. Of note, GNG7 suppression could diminish the promoting effect of RSPO3 to CSC-like properties. In addition, RSPO3 suppression inhibited MKN45 tumor peritoneal seeding in vivo. IHC staining also showed that RSPO3, CD44, OCT-4, and SOX-2 were elevated in H. pylori GC tissues. CONCLUSION RSPO3 enhanced the stemness of H. pylori extracts-infected GC cells through the GNG7/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze survival data of cancer from 1970 to 2014 in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, and provide scientific basis for cancer prevention and control in Zhongshan City. Methods: The tumor incidence data of Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province from 1970 to 2014 were collected from Zhongshan Cancer Registry, and all patients were followed up to December 31, 2019. The standardized 5-year net survival rates and their annual percentage change (APC) and average annual percentage change (AAPC) for total and major cancers at different times were used to describe statistical analysis. The standardized survival rates were weighted using the International Cancer Survival Standard Age Coefficients. Results: There were 78 854 cancer patients eligible for the study in Zhongshan City of Guangdong Province from 1970 to 2014, among which lung cancer (13 466 cases, 17.08%), nasopharyngeal cancer (9715 cases, 12.32%) and liver cancer (9707 cases, 12.31%) were the main types of cancer. The morphology verification was 69.87% in the whole of cancers and the ranges were 21.07% to 97.00% in major cancers. From 2010 to 2014, the 5-year age-standardized net survival rates of cancers for all, males and females in Zhongshan City were 39.74%, 30.92% and 52.47%, in which were 97.98% for thyroid cancer, 74.29% for brain and central nervous system tumors, 73.92% for nasopharyngeal cancer, 50.23% for colorectal cancer, 81.38% for female breast cancer, 78.81% for uterine body cancer, 68.57% for cervical cancer, 49.33% for prostate cancer, 16.19% for lung cancer , 12.14% for liver cancer, and 11.78% for esophageal cancer, respectively. The survival rates of all cancers in Zhongshan City showed an increasing trends in 1970-2014 (AAPC=1.5%, P=0.025), and it was higher in female cancers than that of male in all periods. Conclusion: The standardized 5-year net survival rates of all and major cancers in Zhongshan City of Guangdong Province show an increasing trend from 1970 to 2014, but they are still at a medium-low levels compared with the countries and regions participating in CONCORD-3 project, suggesting that Zhongshan should continue to strengthen cancer prevention and control.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the cutting scheme and clinical application effects of ultrathin thoracodorsal artery perforator flap assisted by color Doppler ultrasound. Methods: This study was a retrospective historical control study. From February 2017 to October 2019, 20 patients who were admitted to the Third Department of Orthopedics of Xingtai General Hospital of North China Medical and Health Group (hereinafter referred to as our department), met the inclusion criteria, and underwent repair of skin and soft tissue defects of extremities with ultrathin thoracodorsal artery perforator flap designed and harvested based on the surgeon's clinical experience were selected as control group, including 16 males and 4 females, aged (37±5) years. From November 2019 to December 2022, 21 patients who were admitted to our department, met the inclusion criteria, and underwent repair of skin and soft tissue defects of extremities with ultrathin thoracodorsal artery perforator flap designed and harvested under the assistance of color Doppler ultrasound were selected as ultrasound-assisted group, including 15 males and 6 females, aged (38±6) years. After debridement, the area of skin and soft tissue defects of extremities ranged 5.0 cm×4.0 cm to 19.0 cm×8.0 cm, and the area of thoracodorsal artery perforator flaps ranged 6.0 cm×5.0 cm to 20.0 cm×9.0 cm. The wounds in flap donor sites were closed directly. For patients in ultrasound-assisted group, the time and cost required for color Doppler ultrasound examination were recorded, and the number, type, and location of thoracodorsal artery perforator vessels detected by preoperative color Doppler ultrasound were compared with those of intraoperative actual detection. The time required for complete flap harvest of patients in 2 groups was recorded. On postoperative day (POD) 1, 3, 5, 7, and 14, the blood perfusion of flaps in the 2 groups of patients was assessed using a flap perfusion assessment scale. On POD 14, flap survival of patients in 2 groups was observed, and the percentage of flap survival area was calculated. In postoperative 6 months, satisfaction of patients with the treatment outcome in the 2 groups was assessed using 5-grade Likert scale, and the satisfaction rate was calculated. Results: For patients in ultrasound-assisted group, the time required for preoperative color Doppler ultrasound examination was (10.5±2.3) min, and the cost was 120 yuan; 21 thoracodorsal artery perforator vessels were detected and marked using preoperative color Doppler ultrasound, including 8 (38.10%) type 1 perforator vessels, 10 (47.62%) type 2 perforator vessels, and 3 (14.29%) type 3 perforator vessels; the number, type, and location of thoracodorsal artery perforator vessels detected preoperatively were consistent with those detected intraoperatively. The time required for complete flap harvest of patients in ultrasound-assisted group was (41±10) min, which was significantly shorter than (63±12) min in control group (t=6.32, P<0.05). On POD 1, 3, 5, 7, and 14, the blood perfusion scores of flaps of patients in ultrasound-assisted group were significantly better than those in control group (with t values of 6.67, 7.48, 8.03, 8.75, and 7.99, respectively P<0.05). On POD 14, only one patient in ultrasound-assisted group had partial flap necrosis and 6 patients in control group had complete or partial necrosis of the flap; the percentage of flap survival area of patients in ultrasound-assisted group was (99±8)%, which was significantly higher than (87±8)% in control group (t=4.57, P<0.05). In postoperative 6 months, there was no significant difference in the satisfaction rate of patients with the treatment outcome between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusions: Preoperative color Doppler ultrasound is highly accurate in detecting the number, type, and location of perforator vessels. The cutting scheme of ultrathin thoracodorsal artery perforator flaps can be designed according to the different types of perforator vessels, with shorted flap cutting time and improved flap survival rate.

Abstract
Objective This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of various acupuncture treatments in conjunction with multimodal analgesia (MA) for managing postoperative pain and improving knee function in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA), based on the findings from clinical research indicating the potential benefits of acupuncture-related therapies in this context. Methods We searched Web of Science, PubMed, SCI-hub, Embase, Cochrane Library, China Biology Medicine (CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data, and Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP) to collect randomized controlled trials of acupuncture-related therapies for post-TKA pain. After independent screening and data extraction, the quality of the included literature was evaluated. The potential for bias in the studies incorporated in the analysis was assessed according to the guidelines outlined in the Cochrane Handbook 5.1. Network meta-analysis (NMA) was conducted using RevMan 5.4 and Stata 16.0 software, with primary outcome measures including visual analog scale (VAS), pain pressure threshold (PPT), hospital for special surgery knee score (HSS), and knee joint range of motion (ROM). Furthermore, the interventions were ranked based on the SUCRA value. Results We conducted an analysis of 41 qualifying studies encompassing 3,003 patients, examining the efficacy of four acupuncture therapies (acupuncture ACU, electroacupuncture EA, transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation TEAS, and auricular acupoint therapy AAT) in conjunction with multimodal analgesia (MA) and MA alone. The VAS results showed no significant difference in efficacy among the five interventions for VAS-3 score. However, TEAS+MA (SMD: 0.67; 95%CI: 0.01, 1.32) was more effective than MA alone for VAS-7 score. There was no significant difference in PPT score among the three interventions. ACU + MA (SMD: 6.45; 95%CI: 3.30, 9.60), EA + MA (SMD: 4.89; 95%CI: 1.46, 8.32), and TEAS+MA (SMD: 5.31; 95%CI: 0.85, 9.78) were found to be more effective than MA alone for HSS score. For ROM score, ACU + MA was more efficacious than EA + MA, TEAS+MA, and AAT + MA, MA. Regarding the incidence of postoperative adverse reactions, nausea and vomiting were more prevalent after using only MA. Additionally, the incidence of postoperative dizziness and drowsiness following ACU + MA (OR = 4.98; 95%CI: 1.01, 24.42) was observed to be higher compared to that after AAT + MA intervention. Similarly, the occurrence of dizziness and drowsiness after MA was found to be significantly higher compared to the following interventions: TEAS+MA (OR = 0.36; 95%CI: 0.18, 0.70) and AAT + MA (OR = 0.20; 95%CI: 0.08, 0.50). The SUCRA ranking indicated that ACU + MA, EA + MA, TEAS+MA, and AAT + MA displayed superior SUCRA scores for each outcome index, respectively. Conclusion For the clinical treatment of post-TKA pain, acupuncture-related therapies can be selected as a complementary and alternative therapy. EA + MA and TEAS+MA demonstrate superior efficacy in alleviating postoperative pain among TKA patients. ACU + MA is the optimal choice for promoting postoperative knee joint function recovery in TKA patients. AAT + MA is recommended for preventing postoperative adverse reactions. Abstract
2D transition metal carbides and carbonitrides (MXenes) have emerged as promising electrode materials for electrochemistry ion capture but always suffer from severe layer-restacking and irreversible oxidation that restrains their electrochemical performance. Here we design a dual strategy of microstructure tailoring and heterostructure construction to synthesize a unique 3D grape string-like heterostructure consisting of Ti3C2Tx MXene hollow microspheres wrapped by fungi-derived N-doping carbon nanoribbons (denoted as GMNC). The 3D grape string-like heterostructure effectively avoids the aggregation of Ti3C2Tx MXene sheets and enhances the stability of MXenes, providing abundant active sites for ion capture, and an interconnected conductive bionic nanofiber network for high-rate electron transport. In consequence, GMNC achieves a superior adsorption capacity for sodium ions (Na+) in capacitive deionization (CDI) (162.37 mg gNaCl-1) with an ultra-high instantaneous adsorption rate (30.52 mg g-1 min-1) at an applied voltage of 1.6 V and satisfactory cycle stability over 100 cycles, which is a strong performer among the state-of-the-art values for MXene-based CDI electrodes. In addition, in situ electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (EQCM-D) measurement combined with density functional theory (DFT) reveals the mechanisms of the Na+ capture process in the GMNC heterostructure. This work opens a new avenue for designing high-performance MXenes with a 3D hierarchical heterostructure for advanced electrochemical applications.

Abstract
Land reclamation is a widely adopted method for managing land shortage and promoting coastal economic development globally. However, its impacts on biodiversity vary based on distinct reclamation histories and land use management strategies in different regions. This study aims to examine the effects of reclamation history and land use types at different spatial scales on anuran communities in coastal reclaimed land, which are an important taxon in the coastal ecosystem. We used visual and acoustic encounter methods to survey anurans in 2016 and 2017 across 20 1-km radius coastal land reclamation landscapes with different reclamation histories (10, 20, and 60 y after reclamation) in Nanhui Dongtan of Shanghai, an important coastal land reclamation region along the Yangtze River Estuary. Landscape variables (farmlands, woodlands, and impermeable surface covers, and the landscape Shannon diversity index) at four different spatial scales (250 m, 500 m, 750 m and 1000 m) and water salinity in each landscape were measured. Our findings reveal differences in anuran communities between study sites with 10, 20, and 60 years of reclamation history. Abundances of the ornamented pygmy frog (Microhyla fissipes) and Beijing gold-striped pond frog (Pelophylax plancyi) in landscapes with a 10-year reclamation history were significantly lower compared to those with histories of 20 and 60 years. Zhoushan toad (Bufo gargarizans) abundance was significantly negatively related to farmland cover at the 1000 m scale and impermeable surface cover at the 250 m scale; Hong Kong rice-paddy frog (Fejervarya multistriata) abundance was significantly positively related to farmland cover at the 1000 m scale; ornamented pygmy frog abundance was positively related to farmland cover at the 1000 m scale; and Beijing gold-striped pond frog abundance was significantly positively and negatively related to the landscape Shannon diversity index at the 1000 m scale and to water salinity, respectively. Amphibians quickly migrated and colonized coastal reclaimed land from older natural lands. However, two anuran species with specific habitat requirements tended to avoid areas with shorter reclamation histories. The single-species models revealed different responses to various land uses at the various scales, which indicated that land use management was important to amphibian conservation in coastal reclamation regions.

Abstract
With the development of information technology and the increasing demand for vaccination services among the people, it is a definite trend to enhance the quality of vaccination services through digitization. This article starts with a clear concept of digital services for vaccination, introduces the current development status in China and abroad, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of existing models in leading regions, takes a glean from the summation, and proposes targeted solutions. This study suggests establishing a departmental coordination mechanism for data interconnection and sharing, formulating data standards and functional specifications, enhancing the functionalities of the immunization planning information system, strengthening data collection and analytical usage, and intensifying appointment management and science and health education to provide expert guidance for the construction of digital vaccination services across the country in the future.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can modulate the immune function of tumor patients in various ways. Zuojin Wan (ZJW, a 6:1 ratio of Huanglian and Wuzhuyu) can modulate the microenvironment of ulcerative colitis, but its role in regulating the CRC microenvironment remains unclear. Exploring the role of ZJW in CRC immunomodulation may improve the antitumor effect of existing immunotherapeutic strategies. MATERIAL AND METHODS The active compounds of each herb in ZJW were obtained from the HIT2.0 database with literature evidence. Single-cell RNA sequencing data of CRC were obtained from published studies (PMID: 32451460, 32103181, and 32561858). Pathway enrichment was analyzed using the reactome database, and intergenic correlation analysis was performed using the corrplot R software package. ZJW-regulated gene expression was verified by RT-qPCR. RESULTS Huanglian and Wuzhu contain 19 and 4 compounds, respectively. Huang Lian targets 146 proteins, and Wu Zhu Yu targets 28 proteins based on evidence from the literature. ZJW regulates a range of biological processes associated with immune function, including cytokine signaling and Toll-Like Receptor 4 (TLR4) cascade. ZJW regulates malignant CRC cells, immune cells (including T-cells, B-cells, mast cells, NK/NKT cells, and myeloid cells), and other non-immune cells (including endothelial cells, enteric glial cells, and pericytes). We confirmed that ZJW significantly downregulated the expression of TIMP1 and MTDH. CONCLUSIONS ZJW regulates a range of cells in the CRC microenvironment, including malignant CRC, immune cells, and stromal cells. In CRC cell lines, downregulation of TIMP1 and MTDH by ZJW may play an important role in the immunomodulation in CRC.

Abstract
Liver disease represents a significant global burden, placing individuals at a heightened risk of developing cirrhosis and liver cancer. Viral infections act as a primary cause of liver diseases on a worldwide scale. Infections involving hepatitis viruses, notably hepatitis B, C, and E viruses, stand out as the most prevalent contributors to acute and chronic intrahepatic adverse outcome, although the hepatitis C virus (HCV) can be effectively cured with antiviral drugs, but no preventative vaccination developed. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and HCV can lead to both acute and chronic liver diseases, including liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which are principal causes of worldwide morbidity and mortality. Other viruses, such as Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and cytomegalovirus (CMV), are capable of causing liver damage. Therefore, it is essential to recognize that virus infections and liver diseases are intricate and interconnected processes. A profound understanding of the underlying relationship between virus infections and liver diseases proves pivotal in the effective prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions. In this review, we delve into the mechanisms by which virus infections induce liver diseases, as well as explore the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of liver diseases. Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Chi006Eese herbal medicine Weifuchun Tablets (WFC) approved by the State Food and Drug Administration in 1982 has been widely used in treating a variety of chronic stomach disorders including Chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) and Gastric precancerous lesions in China clinically. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and potential mechanism of WFC in treating Gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM) and Gastric dysplasia (GDys). MATERIALS AND METHODS Rat GIM and GDys established by N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG) combined with hot paste, ethanol injury, and intermittent fasting were intervened by WFC. Body weight, histopathology, pH of gastric acid, pepsin activity, intestinal metaplasia index and inflammation were detected. Rat bone marrow derived macrophages (BMDMs) pretreated with WFC were stimulated by LPS. Inflammatory factors and the nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) pathway were assessed. GES-1 cells pretreated by WFC were stimulated by MNNG and TNF-α, intestinal metaplasia index, the NF-κB pathway and interaction between P65 and CDX2 were detected. RESULTS WFC improved rat body weight, histopathology, pH value of gastric acid, activity of gastric pepsin, intestinal metaplasia (CDX2), inflammation (IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α), macrophage aggregation (CD68) in gastric mucosa in rat GIM and GDys. WFC inhibited inflammation (IL-1β and TNF-α) by inactivating the NF-κB pathway. WFC reduced the expression of CDX2 by inhibiting the binding of CDX2 promoter TSS upstream region with p65. CONCLUSION WFC blocked GIM and GDys associated with inflammation by regulating the NF-κB pathway.

Abstract
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is characterized by a hypoxic microenvironment, a high rate of heterogeneity as well as a high likelihood of recurrence. Mounting evidence has affirmed that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) participate in the carcinogenesis of PDAC cells. In this study, we revealed significantly decreased expression of GATA6-AS1 in PDAC based on the GEO dataset and our cohorts, and showed that low GATA6-AS1 expression was linked to unfavorable clinicopathologic characteristics as well as a poor prognosis. Gain- and loss-of-function studies demonstrated that GATA6-AS1 suppressed the proliferation, invasion, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process of PDAC cells under hypoxia. In vivo data confirm the suppressive roles of GATA6-AS1/SNAI1 in tumor growth and lung metastasis of PDAC. Mechanistically, hypoxia-driven E26 transformation-specific sequence-1 (ETS1), as an upstream modulatory mechanism, was essential for the downregulation of GATA6-AS1 in PDAC cells. GATA6-AS1 inhibited the expression of fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO), an N6-methyladenosine (m6A) eraser, and repressed SNAI1 mRNA stability in an m6A-dependent manner. Our data suggested that GATA6-AS1 can inhibit PDAC cell proliferation, invasion, migration, EMT process and metastasis under hypoxia, and disrupting the GATA6-AS1/FTO/SNAI1 axis might be a viable therapeutic approach for refractory hypoxic pancreatic cancers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hepatic inflammation is the major risk factor of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the underlying mechanism by which hepatic inflammation progresses to HCC is poorly understood. This study was designed to investigate the role of ETS translocation variant 4 (ETV4) in linking hepatic inflammation to HCC. METHODS Quantitative real-time PCR and immunoblotting were used to detect the expression of ETV4 in HCC tissues and cell lines. RNA sequencing and luciferase reporter assays were performed to identify the target genes of ETV4. Hepatocyte-specific ETV4-knockout (ETV4fl/fl, alb-cre ) and transgenic (ETV4Hep-TG ) mice and diethylnitrosamine-carbon tetrachloride (DEN-CCL4 ) treatment experiments were applied to investigate the function of ETV4 in vivo. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database mining and pathological analysis were carried out to determine the correlation of ETV4 with tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and mitogen-activated protein kinase 11 (MAPK11). RESULTS We revealed that ETV4 was highly expressed in HCC. High levels of ETV4 predicted a poor survival rate of HCC patients. Then we identified ETV4 as a transcription activator of TNF-α and MAPK11. ETV4 was positively correlated with TNF-α and MAPK11 in HCC patients. As expected, an increase in hepatic TNF-α secretion and macrophage accumulation were observed in the livers of ETV4Hep-TG mice. The protein levels of TNF-α, MAPK11, and CD68 were significantly higher in the livers of ETV4Hep-TG mice compared with wild type mice but lower in ETV4fl/fl, alb-cre mice compared with ETV4fl/fl mice as treated with DEN-CCL4 , indicating that ETV4 functioned as a driver of TNF-α/MAPK11 expression and macrophage accumulation during hepatic inflammation. Hepatocyte-specific knockout of ETV4 significantly prevented development of DEN-CCL4 -induced HCC, while transgenic expression of ETV4 promoted growth of HCC. CONCLUSIONS ETV4 promoted hepatic inflammation and HCC by activating transcription of TNF-α and MAPK11. Both the ETV4/TNF-α and ETV4/MAPK11 axes represented two potential therapeutic targets for highly associated hepatic inflammation and HCC. ETV4+TNF-α were potential prognostic markers for HCC patients.

Abstract
Nanohydrogelation of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) will undoubtedly open up new applications for them in water, such as aqueous catalysis and biomedicine. It is currently a great challenge to achieve water dispersion of COFs through either bottom-up construction strategies or top-down exfoliating technologies. Herein, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM)-postmodified COF nanohydrogels (COF-NHGs) are successfully designed and synthesized via in situ atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) on a scaffold of COFs. During the polymer growth process, the bulk COFs are exfoliated into nanosheets with a lateral size of ∼500 nm and a thickness of ∼6.5 nm. Moreover, their size can be precisely controlled by the degree of polymerization of PNIPAMs. In aqueous solution, the obtained COF-NHGs are assembled into nanohydrogels retaining intra-plane crystallinity and exhibit a temperature-sensitive sol-gel phase transition. With excellent solubility in organic solvents, the COF-NHGs' intrinsic physical properties in the solution state can be characterized through their solution nuclear magnetic resonance and ultraviolet absorption spectra. These results put forward new opportunities for regulating the solution processability of COFs and building an intelligent, stimuli-response platform of COF-polymer composite nanohydrogels for device applications.

Abstract
The digital workflow to fabricate an integrated hollow bulb obturator prosthesis with a metal framework for a patient with soft palate defect is described. The framework was digitally designed with an open lattice denture base connector to facilitate the assembly of the hollow bulb obturator and printed with titanium. A functional impression of the palatopharyngeal area was made, and an integrated 3-dimensional (3D) cast was obtained by aligning the data of the functional impression to the preliminary intraoral scan data. The hollow bulb obturator and a palatal cover were designed based on the integrated 3D cast and the framework design data and printed with light-polymerizing denture base resin. The printed framework, obturator, and palatal cover were assembled and bonded without a physical cast, and the definitive prosthesis exhibited good fit, retention, and stability.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Hepatosteatosis, hypertriglyceridemia, and hypercholesterolemia are interconnected metabolic disorders. This study is designed to characterize how microRNA-206-3p (miR-206) simultaneously prevents de novo lipogenesis (DNL), cholesterol synthesis, and VLDL production in hepatocytes while promoting cholesterol efflux in macrophages. APPROACH AND RESULTS MiR-206 levels were reduced in hepatocytes and macrophages of mice subjected to a high-fat, high-cholesterol diet. A negative feedback between LXRα (liver X receptor alpha) and miR-206 is formed to maintain high LXRα and low miR-206 in hepatocytes. Systemic administration of miR-206 alleviated hepatosteatosis, hypertriglyceridemia, and hypercholesterolemia in mice. A significant reduction in LDL cholesterol and VLDL cholesterol but unaltered HDL cholesterol was observed in miR-206-treated mice. Mirroring these findings, miR-206 reprogrammed the transcriptome of hepatocytes towards the inhibition of DNL, cholesterol synthesis, and assembly and secretion of VLDL. In macrophages, miR-206 activated the expression of genes regulating cholesterol efflux. Hepatocyte-specific expression of miR-206 reduced hepatic and circulating triglycerides and cholesterol, as well as VLDL production, while transplantation of macrophages bearing miR-206 facilitated cholesterol efflux. Mechanistically, miR-206 directly targeted Lxrα and Hmgcr in hepatocytes but facilitated expression of Lxrα in macrophages by targeting macrophage-specific tricho-rhino-phalangeal syndrome 1 (TRPS1), a transcription repressor of Lxrα . By targeting Hmgc r and Lxrα , miR-206 inhibited DNL, VLDL production, and cholesterol synthesis in hepatocytes, whereas it drove cholesterol efflux by activating the TRPS1-LXRα axis. CONCLUSIONS MiR-206, through differentially modulating LXRα signaling in hepatocytes and macrophages, inhibits DNL, promotes cholesterol efflux, and concurrently hinders cholesterol synthesis and VLDL production. MiR-206 simulates the functions of lipid-lowering medications, statins, and LXRα agonists.

Abstract
Benzene, as a major indoor pollutant, has received widespread attention. In order to better control indoor benzene pollution and protect people's health, the limit value of benzene in the"Standards for indoor air quality (GB/T 18883-2022)'' was reduced from 0.11 mg/m3 to 0.03 mg/m3. This study reviewed and discussed the relevant technical contents of the determination of benzene limit value, including the exposure status of benzene, health effects, and derivation of the limit value. It also proposed prospects for the future direction of formulating indoor air benzene standards.

Abstract
Interactions between gut microbiome and host immune system are fundamental to maintaining the intestinal mucosal barrier and homeostasis. At the host-gut microbiome interface, cell wall-derived molecules from gut commensal bacteria have been reported to play a pivotal role in training and remodeling host immune responses. In this article, we review gut bacterial cell wall-derived molecules with characterized chemical structures, including peptidoglycan and lipid-related molecules that impact host health and disease processes via regulating innate and adaptive immunity. Also, we aim to discuss the structures, immune responses, and underlying mechanisms of these immunogenic molecules. Based on current advances, we propose cell wall-derived components as important sources of medicinal agents for the treatment of infection and immune diseases.

The C-Ni/NiO/NiBDC can be used by both positive and negative materials to build a supercapacitor that shows superior capacitance over the wide potential range of 0-1.8 V, resulting from the high crystallinity of NiBDC and synergistic effect of NiBDC, Ni and NiO, as well as their mutual intimate interfacial contact.

Abstract
Ticks are obligate, haematophagous arthropods that are distributed across the world, which may transmit more than 200 pathogens, including viruses, bacteria and parasites. A large number of tick species are widespread in China, and their transmitting tick-borne viral diseases pose a great threat to human health in endemic foci. This review describes the epidemiology of common, emerging and potentially pathogenic tick-borne viruses in China, and recommends the assessment of public health significance and pathogenicity of emerging tick-borne viruses using reverse microbial etiology, so as to provide insights into the management of emerging tick-borne diseases in China.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Consolidation immunotherapy after chemoradiotherapy (CRT) is the standard of care for unresectable stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, whether upfront immunotherapy before CRT has similar benefits has not been addressed. This study aimed at exploring the efficacy and safety of induction immunotherapy for unresectable stage III NSCLC through real-world data. MATERIALS/METHODS Patients diagnosed with stage III NSCLC who received immunotherapy in combination with sequential (sCRT) or concurrent CRT (cCRT) between November 2018 and December 2021 were retrospectively identified. Patients were divided into induction (Ind), consolidation (Con) and induction plus consolidation (Ind+Con) immunotherapy groups. Progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were assessed from the initiation of treatment and estimated by Kaplan‒Meier method. The potential factors affecting PFS and OS were analyzed by univariate and multivariate Cox regression models. RESULTS One hundred and two patients were included, with 52 (51.0%) patients in the Ind group, 35 (34.3%) in the Con group and 15 (14.7%) in the Ind+Con group. Median PFS was 24.0 months vs. 36.0 months vs. 19.0 months in the three groups, and 2-year PFS were 43.0% vs 51.1% vs 44.4% (p = 0.940). Median OS was not reached (NR) vs. 44.0 months vs. NR, with a 2-year OS rate of 80.5% vs. 84.4% vs. 86.2% (p = 0.861). In the cCRT setting, 2-year PFS rates were 56.7% vs. 71.6% vs. 100.0% (p = 0.439), 2-year OS rates were 92.3% vs. 89.3% vs. 100.0% in the three groups (p = 0.827). In multivariate analysis, elder (HR = 0.487, p = 0.037) and cCRT (HR = 0.282, p = 0.001) were the independent factors favoring PFS, while only elder (HR = 0.088, p = 0.021) was the independent factors favoring OS. Adverse events were similar in the three arms. Further analysis found the objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR) in the Ind and Ind+Con group after induction immunotherapy were 59.7% and 98.5%, respectively. Only 1 (1.5%) patient developed progression. Subgroup analysis showed no significant difference in PFS (p = 0.520) and OS (p = 0.116) between patients who responded to induction immunotherapy (PR+CR) and those who did not (SD+PD). Patients with <4 cycles of induction immunotherapy exhibited numerically better PFS than those with ≥4 cycles of induction immunotherapy (p = 0.113) and improved OS (p = 0.021). CONCLUSION Induction immunotherapy may achieve similar survival benefits to consolidation immunotherapy, and the combination of induction and consolidation immunotherapy with cCRT appears to achieve better outcomes. It seems feasible and safe to upfront immunotherapy before CRT, and further investigations on the combination of induction immunotherapy and CRT are warranted.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) To develop and validate an immune-related gene prognostic model (IRGPM) that can predict disease-free survival (DFS) in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) who received neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and to clarify the immune characteristics of patients with different prognostic risks. MATERIALS/METHODS In this study, we obtained transcriptomic and clinical data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and rectal cancer database of West China Hospital. Genes in the RNA immune-oncology panel were extracted. Elastic net was used to identify the immune-related genes that significantly affected the DFS of patients. A prognostic risk model (IRGPM) for rectal cancer was constructed with the random forest method. The prognostic risk score was calculated by the model, and the patients were divided into high- and low-risk groups according to the median risk score. Immune characteristics were analyzed and compared between the high- and low-risk groups. RESULTS A total of 407 LARC samples were used in this study. A 20-gene signature was identified by elastic net and was found to be significantly correlated with DFS. The IRGPM was constructed on the basis of the 20 immune-related genes. Kaplan‒Meier survival analysis showed poorer 5-year DFS in the high-risk group than in the low-risk group, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve suggested good model prediction (areas under the curve (AUCs) of 0.87, 0.94, 0.95 at 1, 3, and 5 years, respectively). The model was validated in the GSE190826 cohort (AUCs of 0.79, 0.64, and 0.63 at 1, 3, and 5 years, respectively) and the cohort from our institution (AUCs of 0.64, 0.66, and 0. 64 at 1, 3, and 5 years, respectively). The differentially expressed genes between the high- and low-risk groups were enriched in cytokine‒cytokine receptor interactions. The patients in the low-risk group had higher immune scores than the patients in the high-risk group. Subsequently, we found that activated B cells, activated CD8 T cells, central memory CD8 T cells, macrophages, T follicular helper cells and type 2 helper cells were more abundant in the low-risk group. Moreover, we compared the expression of immune checkpoints and found that the low-risk group had a higher PDCD1 expression level. CONCLUSION The IRGPM, which was constructed based on the random forest and elastic net methods, is a promising method to distinguish DFS in LARC patients treated with a standard strategy. The low-risk group identified by IRGPM was characterized by the activation of adaptive immunity in tumor microenvironment.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Maintenance therapy with alternative agents after chemotherapy was shown to improve the overall survival in some advanced cancers such as breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer and so on. However, maintenance therapy is not accepted as the standard treatment for recurrent/metastatic cervical cancer. Aim of this study is to elucidate the efficacy of maintenance therapy in cervical cancer and to explore the factors associated with the prognosis of recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer. MATERIALS/METHODS In this multicenter cohort study, we retrospectively collected patients with a diagnosis of either recurrent or stage IVB cervical cancer to receive first-line chemotherapy with or without maintenance therapy. Patients did not have disease progression with first-line chemotherapy and were divided into maintenance therapy group (Arm A) and conventional chemotherapy group (Arm B). Information on clinical characteristics, metastasis information, treatment outcome and survival of patients was collected using an electronic medical record system. The endpoints of the study were OS and PFS. Data were analyzed for general characteristics and survival using statistical software, and the results were considered statistically significant at P < 0.05. RESULTS Between January 2019 and July 2021, a total of 270 patients were enrolled from 6 institutions in China. 26 patients were excluded because of short treatment cycles (less than 3 cycles). Finally, a total of 66 patients in Arm A and 178 patients in Arm B were analyzed for survival. The addition of maintenance significantly prolonged overall survival. Overall survival at 3 year was 50.1% in Arm A and 27.8% in Arm B (median overall survival, ≥36 months vs. 22 months; P<0. 001). The median progression-free survival was 21 months in Arm A and 14 months in Arm B (P = 0.025). Univariate survival analysis showed that age, maintenance therapy, combined radiotherapy, and number of extra-pelvic metastases were associated with PFS. Further multifactorial analysis showed that maintenance therapy, combined radiotherapy, and number of extra-pelvic metastases were independent prognostic factors for patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer. CONCLUSION The addition of maintenance therapy significantly prolonged overall survival as well as progression-free survival in patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer and did not increase the incidence of serious adverse events. It is time to consider maintenance therapy as the standard treatment after conventional chemotherapy for recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer, rather than waiting for disease progression.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) The CREST study showed that the addition of thoracic radiotherapy (TRT) could improve the survival of extensive stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC), but whether TRT can bring survival benefit in the era of immunotherapy is controversial. This study aims to explore the efficacy and safety of adding TRT to the combination of PD-L1 inhibitors and chemotherapy. MATERIALS/METHODS Thepatients who received PD-L1 inhibitors combined with platinum-based chemotherapy as the first-line treatment of ES-SCLC from January 2019 to December 2021 were retrospectively collected. According to whether they received TRT, they were divided into two groups, and the follow-up analysis was performed. Propensity score matching (PSM) in with a 1:1 ratio was performed to balance the baseline characteristics of the two cohorts. The endpoints were progression-free survival (PFS) and OS. RESULTS A total of 211 patients with ES-SCLC were enrolled, of whom 70 (33.2%) patients received standard therapy plus TRT as first-line treatment, and 141 (66.8%) patients in the control group received PD-L1 inhibitors plus chemotherapy. After PSM, a total of 65 pairs of patients were enrolled in the analysis. There were no significant differences in baseline characteristics between the two groups of patients who received TRT and those who did not. In all patients, the median PFS (mPFS) in the TRT group and the non-TRT groupwere 9.5 months and 7.2 months, respectively, with HR = 0.60 (95% CI 0.41-0.87, p = 0.007). The median OS (mOS) in the TRT group was also significantly longer than that in the non-TRT group (24.1 months vs. 18.5 months, HR = 0.53, 95% CI 0.32-0.85, p = 0.009). Multivariable analysis showed that baseline liver metastasis and bone metastasis were independent prognostic factors for OS. In terms of safety, immunotherapy combined with thoracic radiotherapy increased the incidence of treatment-related pneumonia (p<0.001), most of which were grade 1-2. CONCLUSION This real-world study shows that adding TRT to durvalumab or atezolizumab plus chemotherapy significantly improves survival in ES-SCLC. It leads to more treatment-related pneumonia, but most of them can be relieved after symptomatic treatment. This treatment model deserves to be explored in prospective clinical trials.

Abstract
We have used the LOw-Frequency ARray (LOFAR) to search for the growing tip of an intra-cloud (IC) positive leader. Even with our most sensitive beamforming method, where we coherently add the signals of about 170 antenna pairs, we were not able to detect any emission from the tip. Instead, we put constraints on the emissivity of very-high frequency (VHF) radiation from the tip at 0.5 pJ/MHz at 60 MHz, integrated over 100 ns. The limit is independent on whether this emission is in the form of short pulses or continuously radiating. The non-observation of VHF radiation from intra-cloud positive leaders implies that they proceed in an extremely gradual process, which is in sharp contrast with the observations of other parts of a lightning discharge.

Abstract
Hepatic cholesterol accumulation and hypercholesterolemia are implicated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the therapeutic effects of cholesterol-lowering drugs on HCC are controversial, indicating that the relationship between cholesterol metabolism and HCC is more complex than anticipated. A positive feedback between cholesterol synthesis and the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) rather than glycolysis was formed in tumors of c-Myc mice. Blocking the PPP prevented cholesterol synthesis and thereby HCC in c-Myc mice, while ablating glycolysis did not affect cholesterol synthesis and failed to prevent c-Myc-induced HCC. Unexpectedly, HMGCR (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase) and G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase), the rate-limiting enzymes of cholesterol synthesis and the PPP, were identified as direct targets of microRNA-206. By targeting Hmgcr and G6pd, microRNA-206 disrupted the positive feedback and fully prevented HCC in c-Myc mice, while 100% of control mice died of HCC. Disrupting the interaction of microRNA-206 with Hmgcr and G6pd restored cholesterol synthesis, the PPP and HCC growth that was inhibited by miR-206. This study identified a previously undescribed positive feedback loop between cholesterol synthesis and the PPP, which drives HCC, while microRNA-206 prevents HCC by disrupting this loop. Cholesterol synthesis as a process rather than cholesterol itself is the major contributor of HCC.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the effect of mechanical ventilation guided by transpulmonary pressure in patients diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). MATERIALS AND METHODS Randomized control trials of ARDS patients that received mechanical ventilation guided by transpulmonary pressure vs. mechanical ventilation guided by traditional lung protective ventilation strategies in adults were retrieved by two reviewers independently from PubMed, EMBASE, The Cochrane Library, The China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and WanFang database before October 2022. The protocol has been registered on PROSPERO (CRD42022307816). The primary outcome was mortality. The secondary outcomes included mechanical ventilation days, oxygenation function and ventilation parameters, hemodynamics, and cytokines level. RESULTS Thirteen articles (819 patients) were finally included through our search strategy. The total mortality (RR, 0.68; 95% CI, 0.54-0.85; p = 0.0006) and mechanical ventilation days (MD, -2.77; 95% CI, -4.60 - -0.94; p = 0.003) reduced when compared with the control group. Patients in the transpulmonary pressure group had higher oxygen index (MD, 40.74; 95% CI 9.81-71.68, p = 0.010) and lung compliance (MD, 7.98; 95% CI 4.55-11.41, p < 0.00001). Positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) was higher in the transpulmonary pressure group (MD, 5.47; 95% CI, 3.59 - 7.35; p < 0.00001). The Interlukin-6 (IL-6) level in the control group decreased obviously compared with that in the transpulmonary pressure group (SMD, -2.03; 95% CI, -3.50 - -0.56; p = 0.007). CONCLUSIONS Mechanical ventilation guided by transpulmonary pressure tended to have a beneficial prognosis on ARDS patients. Oxygenation and lung mechanics parameters were also improved. The clinical effect of mechanical ventilation directed by transpulmonary pressure was superior to the traditional lung protective ventilation strategies in ARDS patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The present study aimed to investigate the effect of dietary lutein on egg production, follicles, reproductive hormones, fertility, hatchability, and oxidative injury indexes of hens. METHODS Treatments consisted of a control diet (CON) and three lutein-supplementing diets at 25 (L1), 50 (L2), or 75 (L3) mg/kg of diet. Egg production was measured using 576 Arbor Acres breeder hens at 61 to 65 wk and follicles grades, reproductive hormones, fertility, hatchability, tissue lutein contents, and oxidative injury indexes were determined at 65 wk. RESULTS The results showed that at 65 wk, lutein- supplementing diets increased (p<0.05) egg production, follicular grades, fertility, hatchability, estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone, progesterone (PROG), lutein content in the serum and yolk, compared to CON. L2 and L3 showed more pronounced (p<0.05) effects on egg production, PROG, and yolk lutein content than L1. With the increase of lutein doses from 25 to 75 mg/kg, there were linear increases (p<0.05) in egg production, lutein content, and PROG, and a quadratic trend (p<0.05) in E2. For the oxidative injury products, lutein-supplementing diets decreased (p<0.05) malondialdehyde (MDA) and protein carbonyl (PCO) in the serum, MDA and 8-hydroxy 2 deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) in the yolk. There were linear decreases (p<0.05) in 8-OHdG in the serum, MDA, PCO, and 8-OHdG in the yolk, a quadratic trend (p<0.05) on serum 8-OHdG. CONCLUSION It is concluded that lutein supplementation can improve egg production and fertility by beneficially regulating reproductive hormones and oxidative status in aged hens.

Abstract
Objective: The current study was carried out to evaluate the effects of laser and Systemp.desensitizer therapy. Further, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to determine the effects of individual or combined desensitizers on human dentinal tubules. Background: The most common clinical condition that makes people uncomfortable is dentin hypersensitivity (DH). Both lasers and drugs that reduce sensitivity have been used to treat DH. Materials and methods: A total of 100 dentinal samples were taken from newly extracted third molars (affected) and divided into 10 groups (A to J), that is, control (A); Systemp.desensitizer (B); diode laser (980 nm) (C); Nd:YAG laser (D); Er:YAG laser (E); Er,Cr:YSGG laser (F); Systemp.desensitizer + diode laser (G); Systemp.desensitizer + Nd:YAG laser (H); Systemp.desensitizer + Er:YAG laser (I); and Systemp.desensitizer + Er,Cr:YSGG laser (J). SEM was used to evaluate the dentinal specimens in each group (longitudinal and transverse portions), and then images of each sample were captured (20 images/sample). In addition, the number of open dentinal tubules was counted and then the occlusion depth in dentinal tubules was measured. Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were employed to analyze the obtained data. Results: All treatment procedures and protocols were effective in blocking dentinal tubules (p < 0.05). Compared with the other groups, dentinal tubules in the laser and laser combination therapy groups were significantly obstructed (p < 0.05). Diode and Nd:YAG lasers with or without Systemp.desensitizer showed significantly more tubule occlusion and greater sealing depth than Er:YAG and Er,Cr:YSGG lasers with or without Systemp.desensitizer (p < 0.05). Conclusions: In summary, lasers alone or in combination can play a significant role in occluding the dentinal tubules. However, combining the diode or Nd:YAG laser with Systemp.desensitizers is a more effective treatment strategy and may have immediate and long-lasting effects.

Abstract
A three-dimensional rigid "six-connected" porous triptycene network based on Tröger's base (TB-PTN) was synthesized by using triptycenes as connectors and Tröger's base as linkers. With characteristics of a high surface area of 1528 m2 g-1, nitrogen-enriched groups, and superior thermal stability, TB-PTN displays a high CO2 uptake of 22.3 wt % (273 K, 1 bar) and excellent iodine vapor adsorption (240 wt %).

Abstract
In recent years, the relationship between gut-brain axis and Alzheimer's disease (AD) attracted increasing attention. The aim of this study is to investigate the therapeutic effect of Clostridium butyricum (CB) on intraventricular injection of streptozotocin (ICV-STZ)-induced mice and the potential mechanisms. ICV-STZ mice were treated with CB by gavage for 21 consecutive days. The pharmacological effect of CB was assessed by behavior test, brain tissue H&E staining and tau protein phosphorylation levels of hippocampus tissues. The expression levels of TLR4, MYD88, NF-κB p65, TNF-α, iNOS, Occludin and ZO-1 in hippocampal and colonic tissues were detected by Western-blot method. 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis was used to analyze the intestinal microbiota of mice. The results showed that CB improved the cognitive dysfunction of ICV-STZ mice, restored the structure and cell number of hippocampal and cortical neurons, decreased the protein levels of pSer404-tau protein in hippocampal tissues and TLR4, MYD88, NF-κB p65 and iNOS in hippocampal and colonic tissues, and increased the protein levels of Occludin and ZO-1 in colonic tissues. Meanwhile, CB reversed the changes of intestinal microbiota in AD mice. Therefore, the mechanisms of cognitive function and brain pathological changes in AD mice improved by CB may be related to the regulation of TLR4 signaling pathway and intestinal microbiota. This study supports the potential anti-AD effect of CB and initially revealed its pharmacological mechanism of CB, providing a theoretical basis for further clinical application of CB.

Abstract
Objective: To discuss the value of amplified in breast cancer 1(AIB1) and androgen receptor (AR) for the resistance of adjuvant tamoxifen in estradiol receptor (ER) positive breast cancer. Methods: A total of 188 cases with breast cancer after receiving tamoxifen treatment in the Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from June 2008 to July 2013 were enrolled in this study.Using immunohistochemical SP method to detect AIB1and AR expression in breast cancer tissue, analyzing the relationship of AIB1 and AR expression and the effect of tamoxifen.And verify the results of the experiment through the GEPIA database. Results: The response of tamoxifen was 80.3%. The response rate in AR positive group and AR negative group was 79.6% and 82.4%, with no significant difference (P=0.669). The response rate in AIB1 High expression group and AIB1 Low expression group was 68.4% and 93.3%, respectively, with a significant difference (P<0.001).The response rate in AR negative and AIB1 Low expression group, AR negative and AIB1 High expression group, AR positive and AIB1 Low expression group, AR positive and AIB1High expression group was 89.7%, 71.4%, 96.7%, 66.2%respectively, with a significant difference (P<0.001). Conclusions: The expression level of AIB1 is correlated with the therapeutic effect of tamoxifen in breast cancer. Its high expression can cause tamoxifen resistance, while AR positive and High expression of AIB1 are more likely to cause tamoxifen resistance, and AIB1 can be used as an independent influencing factor for breast cancer tamoxifentreatment.

Abstract
AIMS Previous observational studies have reported potential associations among attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obesity, and diabetes (including type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus [T1DM/T2DM]). However, whether the association between ADHD and diabetes is mediated by obesity is unknown. METHODS With two-sample Mendelian randomization, we analysed the causal effect of ADHD on T1DM and T2DM and six obesity-related traits [including body mass index, waist circumference (WC), hip circumference, waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), body fat percentage and basal metabolic rate] and the causal effect of these obesity-related traits on T1DM/T2DM. Finally, with multivariable Mendelian randomization, we explored and quantified the possible mediation effects of obesity-related traits on the causal effect of ADHD on T1DM/T2DM. RESULTS Our results showed that ADHD increased the risk of T2DM by 14% [odds ratio (OR) = 1.140, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.005-1.293] but with no evidence of an effect on T1DM (OR = 0.916, 95% CI = 0.735-1.141, P = 0.433.). In addition, ADHD had a 6.1% increased causal effect on high WC (OR = 1.061, 95% CI = 1.024-1.099, P = 0.001) and an 8.2% increased causal effect on high WHR (OR = 1.082, 95% CI = 1.035-1.131, P = 0.001). In addition, a causal effect of genetically predicted high WC (OR = 1.870, 95% CI = 1.594-2.192, P < 0.001) on a higher risk of T2DM was found. In further analysis, WC mediated approximately 26.75% (95% CI = 24.20%-29.30%) of the causal association between ADHD and T2DM. CONCLUSIONS WC mediates a substantial proportion of the causal effect of ADHD on the risk of T2DM, which indicated that the risk of T2DM induced by ADHD could be indirectly reduced by controlling WC as a main risk factor.

Abstract
To explore the application value of whole exome sequencing (WES) in the diagnosis of prenatal and postnatal neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). A total of 70 patients diagnosed with NDDs who underwent WES at the Medical Genetics Center of the Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Hubei Province between June 2020 and July 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples and amniotic fluid. WES-based copy number variant (CNV) analysis was integrated into the routine WES data analysis pipeline. The results showed that a molecular diagnosis rate could be made in 21/70 (30%) cases. Of 21 positive cases, 14 (23%) cases were detected by single-nucleotide variant/small insertion/deletion (SNV/Indel) analysis, of which 12 variants were novel, 6 (9.8%) cases were detected by WES-based CNV analysis, and 1 (1.6%) case was detected by a combination of both. The diagnostic yield of WES combined with CNV analysis was higher than that of SNV/Indel analysis alone (30%, 21/70 vs. 20%, 14/70). Of the 28 prenatally diagnosed cases, 6 cases were found to have inherited parental variation for NDDs, 10 cases were found not to have the same pathogenic variation as the proband, and the remaining 12 cases were found to have no pathogenic or likely pathogenic variation that could explain the NDDs phenotype. Clinical follow-up showed that 5 families opted for abortion and the remaining had no current abnormalities. In conclusion, WES may be an effective method to clarify the genetic etiology and prenatal diagnosis of NDDs, which is helpful in assessing the prognosis to aid clinical management and reproductive guidance.

Abstract
Oregano is a medicinal and aromatic plant of value in the pharmaceutical, food, feed additive, and cosmetic industries. Oregano breeding is still in its infancy compared with traditional crops. In this study, we evaluated the phenotypes of 12 oregano genotypes and generated F1 progenies by hybridization. The density of leaf glandular secretory trichomes and the essential oil yield in the 12 oregano genotypes varied from 97-1017 per cm2 and 0.17-1.67%, respectively. These genotypes were divided into four terpene chemotypes: carvacrol-, thymol-, germacrene D/β-caryophyllene-, and linalool/β-ocimene-type. Based on phenotypic data and considering terpene chemotypes as the main breeding goal, six oregano hybrid combinations were performed. Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers were developed based on unpublished whole-genome sequencing data of Origanum vulgare, and 64 codominant SSR primers were screened on the parents of the six oregano combinations. These codominant primers were used to determine the authenticity of 40 F1 lines, and 37 true hybrids were identified. These 37 F1 lines were divided into six terpene chemotypes: sabinene-, β-ocimene-, γ-terpinene-, thymol-, carvacrol-, and p-cymene-type, four of which (sabinene-, β-ocimene-, γ-terpinene-, and p-cymene-type) were novel (i.e., different from the chemotypes of parents). The terpene contents of 18 of the 37 F1 lines were higher than those of their parents. The above results lay a strong foundation for the creating of new germplasm resources, constructing of genetic linkage map, and mapping quantitative trait loci (QTLs) of key horticultural traits, and provide insights into the mechanism of terpenoid biosynthesis in oregano.

Abstract
Rhythm control is crucial part of comprehensive management of atrial fibrillation (AF). Rhythm control can reduce the burden of AF effectively, reduce symptoms, and improve the prognosis in early AF. Antiarrhythmic drugs (AADs) are the first-line treatment for rhythm-control strategies. This consensus focuses on the principle of rhythm control in AF, the characteristics of AADs, and the medication recommendations for patients in different populations suffering from AF. Hence, this consensus aims to support clinical decision-making for AF therapy.

Abstract
Horns, a form of headgear carried by Bovidae, have ethical and economic implications for ruminant production species such as cattle and goats. Hornless (polled) individuals are preferred. In cattle, four genetic variants (Celtic, Friesian, Mongolian and Guarani) are associated with the polled phenotype, which are clustered in a 300-kb region on chromosome 1. As the variants are intergenic, the functional effect is unknown. The aim of this study was to determine if the POLLED variants affect chromatin structure or disrupt enhancers using publicly available data. Topologically associating domains (TADs) were analyzed using Angus- and Brahman-specific Hi-C reads from lung tissue of an Angus (Celtic allele) cross Brahman (horned) fetus. Predicted bovine enhancers and chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing peaks for histone modifications associated with enhancers (H3K27ac and H3K4me1) were mapped to the POLLED region. TADs analyzed from Angus- and Brahman-specific Hi-C reads were the same, therefore, the Celtic variant does not appear to affect this level of chromatin structure. The Celtic variant is located in a different TAD from the Friesian, Mongolian, and Guarani variants. Predicted enhancers and histone modifications overlapped with the Guarani and Friesian variants but not the Celtic or Mongolian variants. This study provides insight into the mechanisms of the POLLED variants for disrupting horn development. These results should be validated using data produced from the horn bud region of horned and polled bovine fetuses.

Abstract
The impairment of executive functions (EFs) in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) might vary from one individual to another, indicating high heterogeneity. Comorbidity may contribute to this heterogeneity. Disruptive behavior disorders (DBD), including oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and conduct disorder (CD), is the most common comorbidity in ADHD. Although many studies suggest that ADHD with CD (ADHDCD+) and ADHD with ODD (ADHDODD+) should be treated differently, little research has attempted to separate these two disorders when studying the EFs and brain imaging of ADHD with DBD (ADHDDBD+). Thus, based on our ongoing research in ADHD, we have now recruited a large sample size of medication-naïve children to obtain estimates of neurocognitive function and functional brain networks. We found no EF impairment in ADHDCD+ patients compared with healthy controls (HCs). Correlation analysis showed that more severe CD symptoms were associated with better EFs. The mediation analysis revealed that the relationship between CD symptoms and inhibition function was mediated by the functional connectivity (FC) of SMN(L) - DMN(R) in the younger group. The study suggested that ADHDCD+ and ADHDODD+ are different in their EF impairment. The comorbidity of CD may not worsen the impairments and might even improve EF performance within ADHD individuals.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study analyzed evidence on the association between prognostic nutritional index (PNI), controlling nutritional status (CONUT), geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI), and mini-nutritional assessment-short form (MNA-SF) and mortality after hip fracture. MATERIALS AND METHODS The online databases of PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, and Google Scholar were accessed for literature reporting the association between PNI/CONUT/GNRI/MNA-SF and mortality after hip fracture. Data were pooled in a random-effects model. RESULTS 13 studies were eligible. Meta-analysis of six studies showed that individuals with low GNRI had a significantly higher risk of mortality as compared to those with high GNRI (OR: 3.12 95% CI: 1.47, 6.61 I2=87% p=0.003). Meta-analysis of three studies found that low PNI was not a significant predictor of mortality amongst hip fracture patients (OR: 1.42 95% CI: 0.86, 2.32 I2=71% p=0.17). On pooling data from five studies, it was noted that patients with low MNA-SF scores had a significantly higher risk of mortality in comparison to those with higher scores (OR: 3.61 95% CI: 1.70, 7.70 I2=85% p=0.0009). Only one study was available on CONUT. Heterogeneity of cut-offs and variable follow-up were important limitations. CONCLUSIONS Our results indicate that MNA-SF and GNRI can predict mortality in elderly patients undergoing surgery for hip fractures. Data is scarce on PNI and CONUT to draw strong conclusions. Variation in cut-offs and follow-up period are important limitations which need to be addressed by future studies.

Abstract
Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata (RRP, Shu Dihuang in Cinese) is widely used as primal medicine in Chinese herbal formula for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the underlying mechanism of RRP for AD remains unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the therapeutic effect of RRP on intracerebroventricular injection of streptozotocin (ICV-STZ)-induced AD model mice and its potential mechanism. ICV-STZ mice were continuously gavaged with RRP for 21 days. The pharmacological effects of RRP were evaluated by behavioral tests, brain tissue H&E staining and hippocampal tau protein phosphorylation levels. The expression levels of insulin receptor (INSR), IRS-1, pSer473-AKT/AKT and pSer9-GSK-3β/GSK-3β proteins in hippocampal and cortical tissues were detected by Western-blot method. The 16S rRNA gene sequencing was used to analyze the changes of intestinal microbiota in mice. The compounds in RRP were analyzed by mass spectrometry and their binding ability to INSR proteins was detected by molecular docking. The results showed that RRP ameliorated cognitive dysfunction and neuronal pathological changes of brain tissue in ICV-STZ mice, reduced tau protein hyperphosphorylation, INSR, IRS-1, pSer473-AKT/AKT, and pSer9-GSK-3β/GSK-3β levels in hippocampal and cortical tissues. Meanwhile, RRP reversed ICV-STZ-induced dysregulation of intestinal microbiota in AD mice. Mass spectrometry analysis showed that the RRP consisted mainly of seven compounds, namely Acteoside (Verbascoside), 5-Hydroxymethyl-2-furaldehyde (5-HMF), Apigenin7-O-glucuronide, Icariin, Gallic acid, Quercetin-3β-D-glucoside, and Geniposide. Molecular docking results further indicated that the compounds in RRP have binding ability to INSR protein and potential multiple synergistic effects. RRP ameliorates cognitive dysfunction and brain histopathological changes in AD mice. The mechanism of RRP ameliorating AD may be related to the regulation of INSR/IRS-1/AKT/GSK-3β signaling pathway and intestinal microbiota. This study supports the potential anti-AD efficacy of RRP and initially reveals the pharmacological mechanism of RRP, providing a theoretical basis for further clinical application of RRP.

Abstract
Colorectal adenoma is a precancerous lesion that may progress to colorectal cancer. Patients with colorectal adenoma had a 4-fold higher risk of developing colorectal malignancy than the rest of the population, with approximately 80% of colorectal cancer originating from colorectal adenoma. Therefore, preventing the occurrence and progression of colorectal adenoma is crucial in reducing the risk for colorectal cancer. The human intestinal microecology is a complex system consisting of numerous microbial communities with a sophisticated structure. Interactions among intestinal microorganisms play crucial roles in maintaining normal intestinal structure, digestion, absorption, metabolism, and other functions. The colorectal system is the largest microbial bank or fermentation system in the human body. Studies suggest that intestinal microecological imbalance, one of the most important environmental factors, may play an essential role in the occurrence and development of colorectal adenoma and colorectal cancer. Based on the complexity of studying the gut microbiota ecosystem, its specific role in the occurrence and development of colorectal adenoma is yet to be elucidated. In addition, further studies are expected to provide new insights regarding the prevention and treatment of colorectal adenoma. This article reviews the relationship and mechanism of the diversity of the gut microbiota, the relevant inflammatory response, immune regulation, and metabolic changes in the presence of colorectal adenomas.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical and imaging characteristics of early neurological deterioration (END) in acute isolated pontine infarction (AIPI) and analyze the predictive factors of END. Methods: Patients with AIPI who were confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in Zhengzhou University People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2021were collected and divided into END group and non-END group (NEND group). General data and imaging characteristics of the patients were compared between the two groups, the neurological function of patients was evaluated by using the modified Rankin scale (mRS) at 1 and 3 months after stroke. Multivariate binary logistic regression model was used to analyze the risk factors of END after isolated pontine infarction, and the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC) curve was drawn. Z-test was used to compare the area under the curve to determine the best predictor of END. Results: A total of 113 patients with AIPI were enrolled, including 72 males and 41 females, aged (62±11) years, with 40 cases in the END group and 73 cases in the NEND group. The incidence of END in AIPI was 35.4% (40/113). The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score in the END group (5.15±1.88) was higher than that in the NEND group (4.10±1.63), and the infarcts size in the END group [(2.15±0.39) mm2] was larger than that in the NEND group [(1.61±0.46) mm2] (P=0.002 and P<0.001, respectively). Multivariate binary logistic regression analysis showed that NIHSS score on admission (OR=1.393, 95%CI: 1.017-1.909, P=0.039), infarct size (OR=11.539, 95%CI: 3.574-37.255, P<0.001) were associated with END. Comparing the area of ROC curve, infarct size [area under curve (AUC)=0.787, with a sensitivity of 0.750 and specificity of 0.545] and NIHSS score on admission (AUC=0.688, with a sensitivity of 0.700 and specificity of 0.589) showed no significant difference in the value of predicting END (P=0.056). Conclusion: Patients with AIPI had higher NIHSS score and larger infarct size on admission, and both of them exhibit good predictive performance for END.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Thyme derived essential oil and its components have numerous applications in pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries, owing to their antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. To obtain thyme essential oil with different terpene composition, we developed new germplasm resources using the conventional hybridization approach. RESULTS Phenotypic characteristics, including essential oil yield and composition, glandular trichome density, plant type, and fertility, of three wild Chinese and seven European thyme species were evaluated. Male-sterile and male-fertile thyme species were crossed in different combinations, and two F1 populations derived from Thymus longicaulis (Tl) × T. vulgaris 'Fragrantissimus' (Tvf) and T. vulgaris 'Elsbeth' (Tve) × T. quinquecostatus (Tq) crosses were selected, with essential oil yield and terpene content as the main breeding goals. Simultaneously, simple sequence repeat (SSR) primers were developed based on the whole-genome sequence of T. quinquecostatus to authenticate the F1 hybrids. A total of 300 primer pairs were selected, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was carried out on the parents of the two hybrid populations (Tl, Tvf, Tve, and Tq). Based on the chemotype of the parents and their F1 progenies, we examined the expression of genes encoding two γ-terpinene synthases, one α-terpineol synthase, and maybe one geraniol synthase in all genotypes by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). CONCLUSION We used hybridization to create new germplasm resources of thyme, developed SSR markers based on the whole-genome sequence of T. quinquecostatus, and screened the expression of monoterpene synthase genes in thyme. The results of this study provide a strong foundation for the creation of new germplasm resources, construction of the genetic linkage maps, and identification of quantitative trait loci (QTLs), and help gain insight into the mechanism of monoterpenoids biosynthesis in thyme.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hippocampus plays critical roles in drug addiction. Cocaine-induced modifications in dopamine receptor function and the downstream signaling are important regulation mechanisms in cocaine addiction. Rac regulates actin filament accumulation while Cdc42 stimulates the formation of filopodia and neurite outgrowth. Based on the region specific roles of small GTPases in brain, we focused on the hippocampal subregions to detect the regulation of Cdc42 signaling in long-term morphological and behavioral adaptations to cocaine. METHODS Genetically modified mouse models of Cdc42, dopamine receptor D1 (D1R) and D2 (D2R) and expressed Cdc42 point mutants that are defective in binding to and activation of its downstream effector molecules PAK and N-WASP were generated, respectively, in CA1 or dentate gyrus (DG) subregion. RESULTS Cocaine induced upregulation of Cdc42 signaling activity. Cdc42 knockout or mutants blocked cocaine-induced increase in spine plasticity in hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neurons, leading to a decreased conditional place preference (CPP)-associated memories and spatial learning and memory in water maze. Cdc42 knockout or mutants promoted cocaine-induced loss of neurogenesis in DG, leading to a decreased CPP-associated memories and spatial learning and memory in water maze. Furthermore, by using D1R knockout, D2R knockout, and D2R/Cdc42 double knockout mice, we found that D2R, but not D1R, regulated Cdc42 signaling in cocaine-induced neural plasticity and behavioral changes. CONCLUSIONS Cdc42 acts downstream of D2R in the hippocampus and plays an important role in cocaine-induced neural plasticity through N-WASP and PAK-LIMK-Cofilin, and Cdc42 signaling pathway correlatively links specific brain regions (CA1, dentate gyrus) to cocaine-induced CPP behavior.

Abstract
Constructing faradaic electrode with superior desalination performance is important for expanding the applications of capacitive deionization (CDI). Herein, a simple one-step alkalized treatment for in situ synthesis of 1D TiO2 nanowires on the surface of 2D Ti3 C2 nanosheets, forming a Ti3 C2 -MXene partially derived hierarchical 1D/2D TiO2 /Ti3 C2 heterostructure as the cathode electrode is reported. Cross-linked TiO2 nanowires on the surface help avoid layer stacking while acting as the protective layer against contact of internal Ti3 C2 with dissolved oxygen in water. The inner Ti3 C2 MXene nanosheets cross over the TiO2 nanowires can provide abundant active adsorption sites and short ion/electron diffusion pathways. . Density functional theory calculations demonstrated that Ti3 C2 can consecutively inject electrons into TiO2 , indicating the high electrochemical activity of the TiO2 /Ti3 C2 . Benefiting from the 1D/2D hierarchical structure and synergistic effect of TiO2 and Ti3 C2 , TiO2 /Ti3 C2 heterostructure presents a favorable hybrid CDI performance, with a superior desalination capacity (75.62 mg g-1 ), fast salt adsorption rate (1.3 mg g-1 min-1 ), and satisfactory cycling stability, which is better than that of most published MXene-based electrodes. This study provides a feasible partial derivative strategy for construction of a hierarchical 1D/2D heterostructure to overcome the restrictions of 2D MXene nanosheets in CDI.
