Abstract
BACKGROUND To explore whether the combination of white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) and amyloid-beta (Aβ) deposition is associated with worse cognitive performance on cognitive composites (CCs) domain scores in individuals with subjective cognitive decline (SCD). METHODS Two hundred participants from the FACEHBI cohort underwent structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), 18F-florbetaben positron emission tomography (FBB-PET), and neuropsychological assessment. WMHs were addressed through the Fazekas scale, the Age-Related White Matter Changes (ARWMC) scale, and the FreeSurfer pipeline. Eight CCs domain scores were created using the principal component analysis (PCA). Age, sex, education, and apolipoprotein E (APOE) were used as adjusting variables. RESULTS Adjusted multiple linear regression models showed that FreeSurfer (B - .245; 95% CI - .1.676, - .393, p = .016) and β burden (SUVR) (B - .180; 95% CI - 2.140, - .292; p = .070) were associated with face-name associative memory CCs domain score, although the latest one was not statistically significant after correction for multiple testing (p = .070). There was non-significant interaction of these two factors on this same CCs domain score (p = .54). However, its cumulative effects on face-name associative performance indicated that those individuals with either higher WMH load or higher Aβ burden showed the worst performance on the face-name associative memory CCs domain score. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that increased WMH load and increased Aβ are independently associated with poorer episodic memory performance in SCD individuals, indicating a cumulative effect of the combination of these two pathological conditions in promoting lower cognitive performance, an aspect that could help in terms of treatment and prevention.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Healthcare professionals (HPs) have been confronted by unprecedented traumatic experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in countries that had not experienced similar epidemic outbreaks in recent years. AIM To analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of HPs. METHOD We comprehensively reviewed the studies published in MEDLINE (PubMed), Web of Science and Google Scholar between December 2019 and May 2020. RESULTS Most studies report a high prevalence of anxiety and depressive symptoms among HPs that can be associated with: a) COVID-19 exposure; b) epidemiological issues; c) material resources; d) human resources; and e) personal factors. The role of certain variables, before, during and after the pandemic, remains unexplored. Longitudinal studies will help elucidate which factors are associated with a higher risk of developing long-lasting negative effects. Qualitative studies may contribute to understanding the influence of individual and social narratives in HPs' distress. CONCLUSION A deeper analysis on the individual, institutional, political and socio-cultural factors, meanings and values influencing HPs distress and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic is needed.

Abstract
Echocardiography has become an indispensable tool for the study of heart performance, improving the monitoring of individuals with cardiac diseases. Diverse genetic factors associated with echocardiographic measures have been previously reported. The impact of several apoptotic genes in heart development identified in experimental models prompted us to assess their potential association with human cardiac function. This study aimed at investigating the possible association of variants of apoptotic genes with echocardiographic traits and to identify new genetic markers associated with cardiac function. Genome wide data from different studies were obtained from public repositories. After quality control and imputation, a meta-analysis of individual association study results was performed. Our results confirmed the role of caspases and other apoptosis related genes with cardiac phenotypes. Moreover, enrichment analysis showed an over-representation of genes, including some apoptotic regulators, associated with Alzheimer's disease. We further explored this unexpected observation which was confirmed by genetic correlation analyses. Our findings show the association of apoptotic gene variants with echocardiographic indicators of heart function and reveal a novel potential genetic link between echocardiographic measures in healthy populations and cognitive decline later on in life. These findings may have important implications for preventative strategies combating Alzheimer's disease.

Abstract
The epithelial intermediate-conductance calcium/calmodulin-regulated KCa3.1 channel is considered to be a regulator of intestine function by controlling chloride secretion and water/salt balance. Yet, little is known about the functional importance of KCa3.1 in the intestinal epithelium in vivo. Our objective was to determine the impact of epithelial-specific inducible overexpression of a KCa3.1 transgene (KCa3.1+) and of inducible suppression (KCa3.1−) on intestinal homeostasis and function in mice. KCa3.1 overexpression in the duodenal epithelium of doxycycline (DOX)-treated KCa3.1+ mice was 40-fold above the control levels. Overexpression caused an inflated duodenum and doubling of the chyme content. Histology showed conserved architecture of crypts, villi, and smooth muscle. Unaltered proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) immune reactivity and reduced amounts of terminal deoxynucleotide transferase mediated X-dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL)-positive apoptotic cells in villi indicated lower epithelial turnover. Myography showed a reduction in the frequency of spontaneous propulsive muscle contractions with no change in amplitude. The amount of stool in the colon was increased and the frequency of colonic contractions was reduced in KCa3.1+ animals. Senicapoc treatment prevented the phenotype. Suppression of KCa3.1 in DOX-treated KCa3.1− mice caused no overt intestinal phenotype. In conclusion, inducible KCa3.1 overexpression alters intestinal functions by increasing the chyme content and reducing spontaneous contractions and epithelial apoptosis. Induction of epithelial KCa3.1 can play a mechanistic role in the process of adaptation of the intestine.

Abstract
The main objective of this study is to evaluate the predictive capacity of T cell activation/senescence in subclinical atherosclerosis (SCA) in a group of HIV-infected patients. So, a cross-sectional analysis was performed on 91 long-term triple-ART therapy HIV-infected patients from an observational and prospective cohort. Carotid Intima Media Thickness (cIMT) was measured. Binary logistic regression was used to evaluate independent variables associated with SCA. Compared to patients without SCA, patients with SCA (60.4%) were older (41.33 ± 9.04 vs. 51.73 ± 8.44 years old, p < 0.001) and showed Framingham risk score (2.63 ± 3.127 vs. 7.66 ± 5.84, p = 0.008), as well as higher numbers of CD4+CD8+ double positive T cells (0.50 ± 0.42% vs. 0.81 ± 0.79%, p = 0.037), CD8+CD28- T cells (41.70 ± 16.96% vs. 50.22 ± 16.15%, p = 0.018), higher expression of CD28 on CD8+CD28+ T cells (1865 ± 789 vs. 2243 ± 917 MFI, P = 0.046). In contrast, they showed lower expression of CD38 on CD19+ B cells (65.38 ± 27.47% vs. 42.67 ± 30.26%, P < 0.001). Logistic multivariable analysis showed that Framingham risk score >10% (OR = 14.84, CI95% 1.63-125; p = 0.016) and numbers of CD8+CD28- T cells (OR = 1.032, CI 95% 1-1.065; p = 0.045) were independent factors associated with SCA. Patients with CD8+CD28- T cells ≥59% compared to those <59% had higher risk of SCA (OR = 4, CI95% 1.19-13.3, p = 0.024). Interestingly, 27.4% of patients with low Framingham risk score had elevated levels of CD8+CD28- T cells. In conclusion, immune senescence represented by accumulation of CD8+CD28- T cells may contribute to improve the predictive capacity of the Framingham risk score, especially when the scores are low and can explain, at least in part, the higher prevalence of SCA observed in long-term ART-treated stable HIV infected patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Peripheral biomarkers that identify individuals at risk of developing Alzheimer's disease (AD) or predicting high amyloid beta (Aβ) brain burden would be highly valuable. To facilitate clinical trials of disease-modifying therapies, plasma concentrations of Aβ species are good candidates for peripheral AD biomarkers, but studies to date have generated conflicting results. METHODS The Fundació ACE Healthy Brain Initiative (FACEHBI) study uses a convenience sample of 200 individuals diagnosed with subjective cognitive decline (SCD) at the Fundació ACE (Barcelona, Spain) who underwent amyloid florbetaben(18F) (FBB) positron emission tomography (PET) brain imaging. Baseline plasma samples from FACEHBI subjects (aged 65.9 ± 7.2 years) were analyzed using the ABtest (Araclon Biotech). This test directly determines the free plasma (FP) and total plasma (TP) levels of Aβ40 and Aβ42 peptides. The association between Aβ40 and Aβ42 plasma levels and FBB-PET global standardized uptake value ratio (SUVR) was determined using correlations and linear regression-based methods. The effect of the APOE genotype on plasma Aβ levels and FBB-PET was also assessed. Finally, various models including different combinations of demographics, genetics, and Aβ plasma levels were constructed using logistic regression and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) analyses to evaluate their ability for discriminating which subjects presented brain amyloidosis. RESULTS FBB-PET global SUVR correlated weakly but significantly with Aβ42/40 plasma ratios. For TP42/40, this observation persisted after controlling for age and APOE ε4 allele carrier status (R2 = 0.193, p = 1.01E-09). The ROC curve demonstrated that plasma Aβ measurements are not superior to APOE and age in combination in predicting brain amyloidosis. It is noteworthy that using a simple preselection tool (the TP42/40 ratio with an empirical cut-off value of 0.08) optimizes the sensitivity and reduces the number of individuals subjected to Aβ FBB-PET scanners to 52.8%. No significant dependency was observed between APOE genotype and plasma Aβ measurements (p value for interaction = 0.105). CONCLUSION Brain and plasma Aβ levels are partially correlated in individuals diagnosed with SCD. Aβ plasma measurements, particularly the TP42/40 ratio, could generate a new recruitment strategy independent of the APOE genotype that would improve identification of SCD subjects with brain amyloidosis and reduce the rate of screening failures in preclinical AD studies. Independent replication of these findings is warranted.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Recent data regarding the persistence or remittance of attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnosis into adulthood raise the question of its possible role in crucial public health issues, including road safety, especially when neurocognitive capacities are challenged. METHODS The study included 611 participants with serious traffic violations. The Spanish version of the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (M.I.N.I.) was used to assess psychopathology. They were grouped into 3 diagnostic conditions: non-ADHD, persistent ADHD (ADHD-P), and remittent ADHD (ADHD-R). Several risky driving behaviors were analyzed. RESULTS Although participants with ADHD have more driving violations relative to non-ADHD, ADHD-R, and ADHD-P drivers have similar profiles. ADHD-R and ADHD-P drivers are more prone to perform risky and recidivistic behaviors relative to non-ADHD counterparts (P = .044 and P = .047, respectively); ADHD-R and ADHD-P participants are statistically comparable in this proneness (P = .772). CONCLUSION These results suggest that the underlying core deficits of ADHD-attention and other executive disabilities-persist despite the fact that some people no longer reach the threshold for clinical diagnosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Long-term longitudinal studies with multimodal biomarkers are needed to delve into the knowledge of preclinical AD. Subjective cognitive decline has been proposed as a risk factor for the development of cognitive impairment. Thus, including individuals with SCD in observational studies may be a cost-effective strategy to increase the prevalence of preclinical AD in the sample. OBJECTIVES To describe the rationale, research protocols and baseline characteristics of participants in the Fundació ACE Healthy Brain Initiative (FACEHBI). DESIGN FACEHBI is a clinical trial (EudraCT: 2014-000798-38) embedded within a long-term observational study of individuals with SCD. SETTING Participants have been recruited at the memory clinic of Fundació ACE (Barcelona) from two different sources: patients referred by a general practitioner and individuals from an Open House Initiative. PARTICIPANTS 200 individuals diagnosed with SCD with a strictly normal performance in a comprehensive neuropsychological battery. MEASUREMENTS Individuals will undergo an extensive neuropsychological protocol, risk factor assessment and a set of multimodal biomarkers including florbetaben PET, structural and functional MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, determination of amyloid species in plasma and neurophthalmologic assessment with optical coherence tomography. RESULTS Two hundred individuals have been recruited in 15 months. Mean age was 65.9 years; mean MMSE was 29.2 with a mean of 14.8 years of education. CONCLUSIONS FACEHBI is a long-term study of cognition, biomarkers and lifestyle that has been designed upon an innovative symptom-based approach using SCD as target population. It will shed light on the pathophysiology of preclinical AD and the role of SCD as a risk marker for the development of cognitive impairment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The persistence of risky behaviors while driving and traffic accidents despite campaigns to increase awareness suggest that there may be underlying causes that maintain proneness to traffic violations. The aim of the current study was to assess: a) the prevalence of psychopathology in a sample of people who have lost their driving license due to former traffic violations and b) the discriminatory capacity of each psychopathological disorder to differentiate among people with high and low proneness to perform risky behaviors while driving. METHODS 383 participants in a course to recover their driving license after its loss due to previous traffic violations were included. The International Neuropsychiatric Interview (M.I.N.I.) according to DSM-IV was used to assess psychopathology. RESULTS Between 67% and 76.2% of the participants had been affected by a lifetime psychopathological disorder until the moment of assessment. The most prevalent diagnoses were substance abuse including alcohol (52.5-62.7%), ADHD (19.7-28.5%), depression (7.9-14.4%) and anxiety (3.6-12.4%). Substance abuse and ADHD also showed the strongest set of associations with specific risk behaviors, but ADHD emerged as the most discriminant disorder to distinguish between those people at high and low risk of while driving. CONCLUSIONS The results of the current study suggest that addressing psychopathology explicitly to prevent risky behaviors and recidivism while driving would provide benefits in this area.

Abstract
Cortisol awakening response (CAR) has been studied in children with ADHD, and some authors have reported morning cortisol differences among ADHD subtypes. Despite, only half of the children with ADHD continue to exhibit the disorder into adulthood, CAR has not been studied in adults so far. One hundred and nine adults with ADHD according to the DSM-IV criteria (46 inattentive and 63 combined) ranging in age from 18 to 55 years, and 27 healthy controls were included. Psychiatric and organic comorbidities were excluded. Salivary cortisol samples were obtained at 0, 30, 45 and 60 minutes after awakening. CAR was present in 84% of the healthy controls but in only 64% of the adults with ADHD (68% of the inattentive and 61% of the combined were CAR-positive). There were no significant differences in any of the morning cortisol measures between patients and controls or between the combined and inattentive subtypes of ADHD. Among the inattentive subtype but not in the combined patients, significant positive correlations were observed between the CAR and emotional lability (p=0.05), or self-concept (p=0.014) CAARS subscales, as well as with the cognitive impulsivity subscale of the Barratt impulsiveness scale (p=0.028). These results suggest that adults with ADHD exhibit normal cortisol responses upon awakening and thus cannot be defined in terms of hypo-arousal. Neurobiological differences between the combined and inattentive subtypes involving cortisol, are discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Psychiatrists are at a high risk of becoming mentally ill at some point during their careers. AIMS To compare the profile of psychiatrists admitted to the Barcelona Physicians' Health Programme (PHP) with other sick doctors in the programme. METHODS A retrospective case review of electronic medical records was conducted for physicians registered at the 'Colegio de Médicos' in Barcelona and consecutively admitted to the Barcelona PHP from January 1998 until December 2013. RESULTS One thousand two hundred eighteen records were reviewed. The 72 psychiatrists admitted to the programme were not statistically different from the other physicians in gender (54% versus 51% women), primary diagnosis (34% non-substance use mental disorders versus 29% substance use disorders), prevalence of adjustment disorders and median length of their first treatment episode (9.0 versus 8.4 months). Psychiatrists were significantly older (mean age 53 versus 50 years; t = 2.12; P < 0.05), more frequently had inpatient treatment during their first treatment episode (17% versus 10%; χ (2) = 4.57, P < 0.05) and had more referred (rather than self-referred) admissions (22% versus 13%; χ (2) = 4.57, P < 0.05) than other physicians. However, only the type of referral played a significant role when considering the simultaneous effect of all relevant variables (Wald = 4.43; P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Psychiatrists with mental disorders may be more reluctant to ask for help from a PHP voluntarily than other physicians. Members of this professional group should be encouraged to seek help when affected by mental distress or addiction problems.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The main objective was to explore early-age conditions associated to Substance Use Disorders (SUD) in adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); secondly, to determine which of those conditions are specific to ADHD subjects; and finally, to compare ADHD and non-ADHD subjects in terms of SUD lifetime prevalence and professional, social and personal adjustment. METHOD Comparison between ADHD adults with (n=236) and without lifetime SUD (n=309) regarding clinical characteristics of ADHD, externalization disorders, temperamental traits, environmental factors, academic history and family psychiatric history; secondly, ADHD subjects were compared to a non-ADHD group (n=177) concerning those variables. RESULTS The following variables were found to be positively associated to SUD in ADHD subjects: ADHD severity, CD and ODD comorbidities, temperamental characteristics ("fearful", "accident prone" and "frequent temper tantrums"), "sexual abuse", "be suspended from school", family history of SUD and ADHD, and male gender; ADHD inattentive subtype and "fearful" were inversely associated to SUD. From those variables, "frequent temper tantrums" was also associated to SUD in non-ADHD subjects. ADHD subjects had higher prevalence of lifetime SUD and greater professional, social and personal impairment than non-ADHD subjects. CONCLUSION Findings suggest a significant association between ADHD, SUD and early-age conditions, such as CD and ODD comorbidity; other variables from childhood, namely, ADHD subtype, temper characteristics ("fearful", "accident prone"), "sexual abuse", "be suspended from school" and family history of ADHD are associated to SUD in ADHD subjects, but not in non-ADHD subjects. Moreover, this study confirms both the higher prevalence of lifetime SUD and greater professional, social and personal impairment in ADHD subjects than in non-ADHD subjects.

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS Considering the disadvantages of liver biopsy, alternative noninvasive methods have been sought to assess the stage of liver fibrosis. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of different stages of chronic liver disease using noninvasive methods (transition elastography (Fibroscan®) and Forns and AST-to-platelet ratio index-APRI-indexes) in HCV/HIV-coinfected patients. MATERIALS & METHODS An observational, cross-sectional, multicenter study conducted between September 2007 and May 2008. The study enrolled coinfected patients who had a transient elastography performed in the year of the study and/or biochemical markers (Forns/APRI indexes) to assess the stage of liver fibrosis. RESULTS A total of 109 patients were finally enrolled. Mean elastography velocity was 15.3 kPa, and mean APRI and Forns indexes were 1.4 and 6.1, respectively. According to transient elastography: 41% had mild, 24% moderate, and 35% severe fibrosis; 35% with significant fibrosis. According to the APRI index: 29% had mild, 45% moderate, and 26% severe fibrosis; 28% with significant fibrosis. According to the Forns index: 16% had mild, 54% moderate, and 30% severe fibrosis; 30% with significant fibrosis. The Kappa concordance index between the three methods was 0.42 for fibrosis stage and 0.52 for significant fibrosis detection (p < 0.001 in both cases). CONCLUSIONS There is concordance between the APRI and Forns indexes and elastography in the detection of different fibrosis stages and it is significant. Transient elastography agrees with these indexes in the detection of significant and severe fibrosis.

Abstract
AbstractCocaine consumption can induce transient psychotic symptoms, expressed as paranoia or hallucinations. Cocaine induced psychosis (CIP) is common but not developed in all cases. This is the first European study on the relationship between CIP, consumption pattern variables and personality disorders. We evaluated 173 cocaine-dependent patients over 18 years; mostly males, whose average age was 33.6 years (SD = 7.8). Patients attending an outpatient addictions department were enrolled in the study and subsequently systematically evaluated using SCID I and SCID II interviews for comorbid disorders, a clinical interview for psychotic symptoms and EuropASI for severity of addiction. A high proportion of cocaine dependent patients reported psychotic symptoms under the influence of cocaine (53.8%), the most frequently reported being paranoid beliefs and suspiciousness (43.9%). A logistic regression analysis was performed, finding that a model consisting of amount of cocaine consumption, presence of an antisocial personality disorder and cannabis dependence history had 66.2% sensitivity 75.8% specificity predicting the presence of CIP. In our conclusions, we discuss the relevance of evaluating CIP in all cocaine dependent-patients, and particularly in those fulfilling the clinical profile derived from our results. These findings could be useful for a clinical approach to the risks of psychotic states in cocaine-dependent patients.

Abstract
AIM Diagnosing attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in patients with substance use disorder (SUD) is a complicated process in which a screening tool may be useful. We analyzed the ASRS-v1.1 validity in patients with SUD, considering the addiction severity and co-morbidity with depressive disorders, antisocial and borderline personality. METHODS Eighty outpatients with SUD were evaluated with the following instruments: ASRS-v1.1, CAAD-II, EuropASI, SCID-I, SCID-II. A factor analysis was performed with Varimax rotation to determine the structure of the intercorrelations among the items. Accuracy of ASRS-v1.1 was also analyzed. RESULTS The diagnostic interview CAADID used as a gold standard indicated that 20% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 11-29) meet the criteria for ADHD. The ASRSv1.1 factor structure is marked by two factors related to inattention and hyperactivity / impulsivity that account for 67.7% of the variance. ASRS-v1.1, with a 4 cut-off, showed an 87.5% sensitivity and 68.6% specificity. CONCLUSIONS ASRS-v1.1 is a simple screening tool that is useful and has acceptable validity for the identification of ADHD among addicted patients.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neuropsychiatric disorder in the adulthood. It's diagnosis is a complex process in which a screening tool can be useful. AIM To analyze the six-question Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS v. 1.1) validity in an outpatient clinical context. SUBJECTS AND METHODS We performed a case-control study, involving 90 patients with ADHD and 90 controls without ADHD. They were outpatient treated in a program for adults ADHD in a hospital. The clinical disorder diagnosis was measured by the Conners Adult ADHD Diagnostic Interview. We analyzed the test accuracy for different ways to score and cut-offs. RESULTS We found the best psychometric characteristics of ASRS v. 1.1 using a quantitative ranking between 0 and 24 points, setting as cut-off 12 points. We observed a sensitivity of 96.7%, specificity 91.1%, positive predictive value 91.6% negative predictive value 96.5%, kappa index 0.88 and area under the curve 0.94 (odds ratio = 297.3; 95% confidence interval = 76.2-1,159). CONCLUSION The ASRS is a valid and useful tool for the adult ADHD screening in the clinical context.

Abstract
Introduction:Immigration to Spain is a recent but rapidly growing fenomena. The prevalence of psychiatric disorders in the immigrants relative to natives is an inconclusive theme, given that several studies have found contradictory results.This study presents sociodemographic characteristics and the prevalence of mood disorders (detected with MINI) of 842 adults (411 Latinos and 431 Natives), attending primary care in the greater Barcelona metropolitan area.Results:Most of the sample was female (n=591; 70.2%), the mean age was 34.7 (±9.8) years, range 18-65. Significant (p< 0,001) differences were found between the two groups in: scholarization, housing, work status, income and percived social network.The prevalence of actual major depresssive disorder (MDD) was 12.7% in the total sample, with a higer prevalence in the Latinos (n=68; 16.5%) than Natives (n=39; 9.0%); p=0.001 X2=10.57.There was no difference in total prevalences of other mood disorders between the two groups. Analysis -through logistic regression- of only those patients with complete data, (n=613; 307 Latinos and 306 Natives) showed that the probability of MDD was higer in Latinos than in Native patients (OR= 2.4; 95% CI= 1.5-4.0). After adjusting for gender and all the significantly different variables, the higer risk of MDD in Latinos disappeared (OR= 1.3; 95% CI= 0.7-2.4).Conclusions:From these data we can conlude that the relation between immigrant status and depression is not direct but rather mediated by disadvantaged social conditions. In further similar studies social variables should be considered.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE No study in Spain has analyzed the difference in frequencies of the diagnoses made based on clinical evaluation and semistructured interview in borderline personality disorder diagnosis (BPD). This present study aims to analyze diagnostic concordance in BPD patients previous diagnosed based on clinical evaluations using clinical semistructured interviews for DSM-IV axis II (SCID-II), and to analyze if there are differences in the distribution of frequencies of the psychiatry disorders in the diagnostic concordance group and the non-diagnostic concordance one. MATERIAL AND METHOD The study was carried out with 146 patients referred to the Borderline Personality Disorder Program of the Psychiatric Department at the Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron during its first year of service. A descriptive study was designed to analyze diagnostic concordance between previous BPD clinical evaluation and semistructured interview SCID-II administered by clinical experienced interviewers. RESULTS Diagnostic concordance was not observed in 30% of the final study patients. The results indicated that all the study patients presented a great number of psychiatry disorders. There were significant differences between the diagnostic concordance group and the non-diagnostic concordance one. A higher number of personality disorder (Z=3.36; p=0.01) and anxiety disorder (Z=3.04; p=0.002) was observed in the diagnostic concordance group. CONCLUSIONS BPD was diagnosed 30% less when using semistructured interviews than with clinical evaluations.

Abstract
Cannabis is the most widely used illegal drug in Spain. Currently, its use is on the rise as risk perception is decreasing, primarily among young people. It is well known that cannabis negatively influences course and prognosis in schizophrenic patients. However, the relationship between cannabis use and development of a psychotic or schizophrenic disorder remains controversial. The study of this topic has been approached using longitudinal cohort studies, which study cannabis use and psychotic or schizophrenic disorders. In addition to the classic Swedish conscript study published by Andreasson et al. 1987, during the past years, six more longitudinal cohort studies have been published. The data demonstrate that there are both temporal and dose-response relationships, and that early initiation of cannabis use is highly correlated with the development of psychotic symptoms. Cannabis consumption can increase the risk of developing schizophrenia in a vulnerable population twofold, to the extent that some studies suggest a causal relationship. The current knowledge base makes it necessary to warn the population about the relationship between cannabis use and the development of psychosis.
