Abstract
The biochemical indicators of tumor microenvironment (TME) that are different from normal tissues provide the possibility for constructing intelligent drug delivery systems (DDSs). Polysaccharides with good biocompatibility, biodegradability, and unique biological properties are ideal materials for constructing DDSs. Nanogels, micelles, organic-inorganic nanocomposites, hydrogels, and microneedles (MNs) are common polysaccharide-based DDSs. Polysaccharide-based DDSs enable precise control of drug delivery and release processes by incorporating TME-specific biochemical indicators. The classification and design strategies of polysaccharide-based TME-responsive DDSs are comprehensively reviewed. The advantages and challenges of current polysaccharide-based DDSs are summarized and the future directions of development are foreseen. The polysaccharide-based TME-responsive DDSs are expected to provide new strategies and solutions for cancer therapy and make important contributions to the realization of precision medicine.

Abstract
Habits are the subject of intense international research. Under the associative dual-process model the outcome devaluation paradigm has been used extensively to classify behaviours as being either goal-directed (sensitive to shifts in the value of associated outcomes) or habitual (triggered by stimuli without anticipation of consequences). This has proven to be a useful framework for studying the neurobiology of habit and relevance of habits in clinical psychopathology. However, in recent years issues have been raised about this rather narrow definition of habits in comparison to habitual behaviour experienced in the real world. Specifically, defining habits as the absence of goal-directed control, the very specific set-ups required to demonstrate habit experimentally and the lack of direct evidence for habits as stimulus-response behaviours are viewed as problematic. In this review paper we address key critiques that have been raised about habit research within the framework of the associative dual-process model. We then highlight novel research approaches studying different features of habits with methods that expand beyond traditional paradigms.

Abstract
Intelligent controlled release systems (ICRS) displayed great achievement in agriculture by enhancing the utilization efficiency of agrochemicals. In this work, an intelligent graft copolymer (Alg-g-P(NIPAm-co-NDEAm)) with alginate (Alg) backbone and thermo-responsive poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide-co-N,N-diethylacrylamide) (P(NIPAm-co-NDEAm)) side chain was constructed as the matrix of ICRS through redox copolymerization, and its thermo-induced responsive property was studied. Then, the copolymer was mixed with a promising photothermal material semi-coke (SC) to form hydrogel beads (Ca-Alg-g-P(NIPAm-co-NDEAm)/SC) by ion crosslinking. The water absorbency of beads under different stimuli (pH, temperature, and light) presented outstanding responsive performance and the swelling mechanism was analyzed through coupling theory. Furthermore, the release of glyphosate (Gly) from Ca-Alg-g-P(NIPAm-co-NDEAm)/SC under environmental stimuli displayed regulatable behaviors. This multi-responsive hydrogel bead shows bright prospect in the sustainable advancement of crop production.

Abstract
Successful prospective remembering involves formation of a stimulus (e.g., bottle of medication and/or place where the bottle is kept)-response (e.g., taking a medication) link. We investigated the role of this link in the deactivation of no-longer-relevant prospective memory intentions, as evidenced by commission error risk. Experiment 1a contrasted two hypotheses of intention deactivation (degree of fulfillment and response frequency) by holding constant the degree of intention fulfillment (e.g., participants responded to one of two target words) while manipulating the number of times the intention was performed. Findings supported the response frequency hypothesis. Experiment 1b employed novel lure trials to examine what "stimulus" participants link the prospective memory response to-target words and/or the salient contextual cue-and compared commission errors to Experiment 1a. Findings suggested the salient context alone does not always function as the stimulus. Collectively these findings, in conjunction with those of Experiment 2 (a within-experiment replication) and a combined analysis, suggest that (a) intention deactivation is facilitated by prior responding (formation/strengthening of stimulus-response links), but additional research is needed to establish the robustness of this effect, and (b) when responding frequently to targets, participants are more likely to bind the response to the context alone than to the target or target/context combination, possibly because they learn to rely on context to predict target occurrence. The latter finding was robust and indicates that deactivation of the appropriate stimulus (target and/or context)-response link may be a critical component of reducing commission errors.

Abstract
Initial changes in Parkinson's disease (PD) are marked by loss of automatic movements and decline of some cognitive functions. Yet, the exact profile and extent of cognitive impairments in early stages of PD as well as their mechanisms related to automatic motor dysfunction remain unclear. Our objective was to examine the neuropsychological changes in early PD and their association to automatic and controlled modes of behavioural control. Significant relationships between early PD and cognitive dysfunction in set-shifting, abstraction ability/concept formation, processing speed, visuospatial/constructional abilities and verbal-visual memory was found. We also noted that tests with a strong effortful and controlled component were similarly affected as automatic tests by early PD, particularly those testing verbal memory, processing speed and visuospatial/constructional functions. Our findings indicate that initial stages of PD sets constraints over most of the cognitive domains normally assessed and are not easily explained in terms of either automatic or controlled mechanisms, as both appear similarly altered in early PD.

Abstract
The present experiments investigated the effects of repeated amphetamine exposure on neural networks mediating different forms of learning and memory. Different components of these networks were assessed using various functional assays. The hypothesis was that abnormal dendritic changes in nucleus accumbens, medial prefrontal cortex, and hippocampus mediated by repeated amphetamine exposure would produce impairments on forms of learning and memory dependent on neural circuits relying on these brain systems, and have little or no effect on other forms of learning not dependent on these networks. Surprisingly, the results showed that many of the dendritic changes normally found in the nucleus accumbens, prefrontal cortex, and hippocampus following repeated amphetamine exposure were reversed back to control levels following extensive multi-domain cognitive training. Learning and memory functions associated with different neural networks also appeared normal except in one case. A neural network that includes, but is not limited to, the basolateral amygdala and nucleus accumbens was dysfunctional in rats repeatedly exposed to amphetamine despite the reversal of the majority of dendritic changes in the nucleus accumbens following cognitive training. Importantly, an increase in spine density that normally occurs in these brain regions following repeated amphetamine exposure remained following extensive cognitive training, particularly in the nucleus accumbens.

Abstract
It has long been suggested that alcohol or substance use disorders could emerge from the progressive development and dominance of drug habits. Like habits, drug-related behaviors are often triggered by drug-associated cues. Like habits, addictive behaviors are strong, rigid and "hard to break". Like habits, these behaviors are insensitive to their outcome and persist despite negative consequences. "Pathological habit" thus appears as a good candidate to explain the transition to compulsive drug use. However, drug use could also be considered as a goal-directed choice, driven by the expectation of drug outcomes. For example, drug addicts may engage in drug-seeking behaviors because they view the drug as more valuable than available alternatives. Substance use disorders therefore may not be all about habit, nor fully intentional, and could be considered as resulting from an imbalance between goal-directed and habitual control. The main objective of this review is to disentangle the relative contribution of habit formation and impairment of goal-directed behavior in this unbalanced control of addictive behaviors. Although deficits in goal-directed behavior have been demonstrated in alcohol and substance use disorders, reliable demonstration of abnormal habit formation has been curtailed by the paucity of paradigms designed to assess habit as a positive result. Refining our animal and human model of habit is therefore required to precisely define the place of habit in substance use disorders and develop appropriate and adapted neurobehavioral treatments.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In controlled laboratory EEG experiments, researchers carefully mark events and analyze subject responses time-locked to these events. Unfortunately, such markers may not be available or may come with poor timing resolution for experiments conducted in less-controlled naturalistic environments. NEW METHOD We present an integrated event-identification method for identifying particular responses that occur in unlabeled continuously recorded EEG signals based on information from recordings of other subjects potentially performing related tasks. We introduce the idea of timing slack and timing-tolerant performance measures to deal with jitter inherent in such non-time-locked systems. We have developed an implementation available as an open-source MATLAB toolbox (http://github.com/VisLab/EEG-Annotate) and have made test data available in a separate data note. RESULTS We applied the method to identify visual presentation events (both target and non-target) in data from an unlabeled subject using labeled data from other subjects with good sensitivity and specificity. The method also identified actual visual presentation events in the data that were not previously marked in the experiment. COMPARISON WITH EXISTING METHODS Although the method uses traditional classifiers for initial stages, the problem of identifying events based on the presence of stereotypical EEG responses is the converse of the traditional stimulus-response paradigm and has not been addressed in its current form. CONCLUSIONS In addition to identifying potential events in unlabeled or incompletely labeled EEG, these methods also allow researchers to investigate whether particular stereotypical neural responses are present in other circumstances. Timing-tolerance has the added benefit of accommodating inter- and intra- subject timing variations.

Abstract
The "problem of serial order in behavior," as formulated and discussed by Lashley (1951), is arguably more pervasive and more profound both than originally stated and than currently appreciated. We spell out two complementary aspects of what we term the generalized problem of behavior: (i) multimodality, stemming from the disparate nature of the sensorimotor variables and processes that underlie behavior, and (ii) concurrency, which reflects the parallel unfolding in time of these processes and of their asynchronous interactions. We illustrate these on a number of examples, with a special focus on language, briefly survey the computational approaches to multimodal concurrency, offer some hypotheses regarding the manner in which brains address it, and discuss some of the broader implications of these as yet unresolved issues for cognitive science.
