Abstract
OBJECTIVE Women neurosurgeons (WNs) continue to remain a minority in the specialty despite significant initiatives to increase their representation. One domain less explored is the regional distribution of WNs, facilitated by the hiring practices of neurosurgical departments across the US. In this analysis, the authors coupled the stated practice location of WNs with regional geospatial data to identify hot spots and cold spots of prevalence and examined regional predictors of increases and decreases in WNs over time. METHODS The authors examined the National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers of all neurosurgeons obtained via the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), identifying the percentage of WNs in each county for which data were appended with data from the US Census Bureau. Change in WN rates was identified by calculating a regression slope for all years included (2015-2022). Hot spots and cold spots of WNs were identified through Moran's clustering analysis. Population and surgeon features were compared for hot spots and cold spots. RESULTS WNs constituted 10.73% of all currently active neurosurgical NPIs, which has increased from 2015 (8.81%). Three hot spots were found-including the Middle Atlantic and Pacific divisions-that contrasted with scattered cold spots throughout the East Central regions that included Memphis as a major city. Although relatively rapidly growing, hot spots had significant gender inequality, with a median WN percentage of 11.38% and a median of 0.61 WNs added to each respective county per year. CONCLUSIONS The authors analyzed the prevalence of WNs by using aggregated data from the NPPES and US Census Bureau. The authors also show regional hot spots of WNs and that the establishment of WNs in a region is a predictor of additional WNs entering the region. These data suggest that female neurosurgical mentorship and representation may be a major driver of acceptance and further gender diversity in a given region.

Abstract
Here, elongated pseudohollow nanoframes composed of four rectangular plates enclosing the sides and two open-frame ends with four ridges pointing at the tips for near-field focusing are reported. The side facets act as light-collecting domains and transfer the collected light to the sharp tips for near-field focusing. The nanoframes are hollow inside, allowing the gaseous analyte to penetrate through the entire architecture and enabling efficient detection of gaseous analytes when combined with Raman spectroscopy. The resulting nanostructures are named Au dodecahedral-walled nanoframes. Synthesis of the nanoframes involves shape transformation of Au nanorods with round tips to produce Au-elongated dodecahedra, followed by facet-selective Pt growth, etching of the inner Au, and regrowth steps. The close-packed assembly of Au dodecahedral-walled nanoframes exhibits an attomolar limit of detection toward benzenethiol. This significant enhancement in SERS is attributed to the presence of a flat solid terrace for a large surface area, sharp edges and vertices for strong electromagnetic near-field collection, and open frames for effective analyte transport and capture. Moreover, nanoframes are applied to detect chemical warfare agents, specifically mustard gas simulants, and 20 times higher sensitivity is achieved compared to their solid counterparts.

Abstract
In silico approaches were employed to examine the characteristics of interactions between human mitochondrial thioredoxin 2 (HsTrx2) and its 38 previously identified mitochondrial protein ligands. All interactions appeared driven mainly by electrostatic forces. The statistically significant residues of HsTrx2 for interactions were characterized as "contact hot spots". Since these were identical/adjacent to putative thermodynamic hot spots, an energy network approach identified their neighbors to highlight possible contact interfaces. Three distinct areas for binding emerged: (i) one around the active site for covalent interactions, (ii) another antipodal to the active site for strong non-covalent interactions, and (iii) a third area involved in both kinds of interactions. The contact interfaces of HsTrx2 were projected as respective interfaces for Escherichia coli Trx1 (EcoTrx1), 2, and HsTrx1. Comparison of the interfaces and contact hot spots of HsTrx2 to the contact residues of EcoTx1 and HsTrx1 from existing crystal complexes with protein ligands supported the hypothesis, except for a part of the cleft/groove adjacent to Trp30 preceding the active site. The outcomes of this study raise the possibility for the rational design of selective inhibitors for the interactions of HsTrx2 with specific protein ligands without affecting the entirety of the functions of the Trx system.

Abstract
Background Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) represent the predominant stromal component within the tumour microenvironment (TME), exhibiting considerable heterogeneity and plasticity that significantly impact immune response and metabolic reprogramming within the TME, thereby influencing tumour progression. Consequently, investigating CAFs is of utmost importance. The objective of this study is to employ bibliometric analysis in order to evaluate the current state of research on CAFs and predict future areas of research and emerging trends. Methods Conduct a comprehensive search for scholarly publications within the Web of Science Core Collection database, encompassing the time period from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2022. Apply VOSviewer, CiteSpace, R software and Microsoft Excel for bibliometric analysis and visualisation. Results This study involved a comprehensive analysis of 5,925 publications authored by 33,628 individuals affiliated with 4,978 institutions across 79 countries/regions. These publications were published in 908 journals, covering 14,495 keywords and 203,947 references. Notably, there was a significant increase in articles published between 2019 and 2022. China had the highest count of articles, while the United States emerged as the most frequently cited country. The primary research institutions in this field were Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Harvard University, and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Sotgia, Federica and Lisanti, Michael P from the University of Manchester, and Martinet, Wim from the University of Antwerp were the most prolific and highly cited authors. The journal Cancers had the highest number of publications, while Cancer Research was the most frequently cited journal. Molecular, biology, immunology, medicine and genetics were the main research disciplines in the field of CAFs. Key directions in CAFs research encompassed the study of transforming growth factor-β, Fibroblast Activation Protein, breast cancer, as well as growth and metastasis. The findings from the analysis of keyword co-occurrence and literature co-citation have revealed several emerging hotspots and trends within the field of CAFs. These include STAT3, multidrug resistance, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, pan-cancer analysis, preclinical evaluation, ionizing radiation, and gold nanoparticles. Conclusion Targeting CAFs is anticipated to be a novel and effective strategy for cancer treatment. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the existing research on CAFs from 2001 to 2022, utilizing bibliometric analysis. The study identified the prominent areas of investigation and anticipated future research directions, with the aim of providing valuable insights and recommendations for future studies in the field of CAFs.

Abstract
This study aimed to improve Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA) therapy by evaluating the knowledge framework and investigating research trends in inflammatory mechanisms. Conducting a thorough search on July 31, 2023, using the Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection, we identified 1,083 articles authored by 6,159 individuals from 3,610 institutions across 299 countries. China led in productivity with 377 papers, followed by the United States (253) and Japan (60). The University of California System (20 publications), Guangzhou University of Science and Technology (19), Duke University (18), and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (18) were the top institutions. Notably, the USA and Southern Medical University China held significant centrality in countries and institutions, respectively. Among 1,084 co-occurring keywords, "expression", "rheumatoid arthritis", "articular cartilage", "F kappa b", and "Synovial fluid" emerged as highly correlated topics. Analyzing inflammatory mechanisms in KOA through visualization tools offers insights into the knowledge framework, aiding in identifying future trends for better pain control. The study employed CiteSpace, VOS Viewer, and Tableau to analyze research hotspots and frontiers in inflammation mechanisms in KOA. It focused on essential signaling pathways in articular cartilage, synovial membrane, subchondral bone, and synovial fluids of OA patients and animal models, along with potential therapeutic reagents. Future exploration of the interaction between mechanisms can elucidate key factors in different pathways and the efficacy of injection therapy on inflammation.

Abstract
Background Sichuan Province has gradually become a hot-spot for HIV/AIDS. Little is known about the HIV-1 incidence and prevalence among four sub-groups since 2015. Meanwhile, the distributions of hot-spot areas related to recent infection cases that indicate current transmission among the four subgroups are also rare. Objective The main purpose of this study was to assess the HIV-1 prevalence and incidence and to visualize the distributions of hot-spot areas of current transmission among four subgroups (people who inject drugs, male STD clinic attendees, female sex workers and men who had sex with men) during the surveillance period in Sichuan province between 2016 and 2022. Results Of the 267,617 individuals, 2158 HIV-positive samples were tested with Lag-Avidity EIA, among which 493 samples were identified as recent infections. Among people who inject drugs (PWID), both HIV-1 prevalence (from 1.41% to 0.34%) and incidence (from 0.03% to 0.140%) showed a significant decreasing trend. Among men who had sex with men (MSM), female sex workers (FSWs), and male STD clinic attendees, HIV-1 prevalence indicated significant decreasing trends, whereas HIV-1 incidence showed no significant changes. Spatial analysis demonstrated the formation of hot-spots and clusters of current transmissions sharing regional differences, mainly concentrated in the southeast, and most of these were consecutive hot-spots. Conclusion The prevention and control were efficacious and persistent. However, among the other three subgroups, there is a need for a regional cooperative in prevention and control approaches and collaborative research in many aspects.

Abstract
Background Migraine treatment research has made much great progress over the past decade. However, there have been few bibliometric studies conducted so far. In this study, bibliometric analysis was used to explore the current status and future trends of migraine treatment research. Methods Migraine treatment-related articles were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection on December 7, 2022. Quantitative variables were analyzed by the R-tool bibliometrix and Excel 2020. VOS viewer and CiteSpace software were used to visualize citation, co-authorship, co-occurrence, and co-citation analysis of countries/regions, organizations, authors, references, and keywords. Results A total of 3294 articles were included with the global publication output showing a slow upward trend. The United States was the most productive country with 1116 papers and gained the most citations. Albert Einstein College of Medicine was the most active institution with 176 papers. Headache published the most articles in this domain, while Cephalalgia was the most commonly co-cited journal. Lipton, RB published the most articles and had the most citations. Tepper S, 2017, Lancet neurology and Silberstein S, 2004, Cephalalgia were defined as classic articles. The current research mainly focuses on CGRP-related therapeutics, such as fremanezumab, erenumab and ubrogepant. Conclusion Based on the analysis of bibliometric data on migraine treatment over the past decade, the trends and the knowledge graph of the country, organization, author, reference, and the keyword were identified, providing accurate and quick positioning of the critical information in the domain.

Abstract
Introduction: In the past decade, super-enhancer (SE) has become a research hotspot with increasing attention on cancer occurrence, development, and prognosis. To illustrate the hotspots of SE in cancer research and its evolutionary tendency, bibliometric analysis was carried out for this topic. Methods: Literature published before Dec 31, 2022, in WOSCC, was systematically classified, and Citespace, bibliometric.com/app, and GraphPad Prism analyzed the data. Results: After screening out inappropriate documents and duplicate data, 911 publications were selected for further bibliometric analysis. The top five research areas were Oncology (257, 28.211%), Cell Biology (210, 23.052%), Biochemistry Molecular Biology (209, 22.942%), Science Technology Other Topics (138, 15.148%), and Genetics Heredity (132, 14.490%). The United States of America (United States) has the highest number of documents (462, 50.71%), followed by China (303, 33.26%). Among the most productive institutions, four of which are from the United States and one from Singapore, the National University of Singapore. Harvard Medical School (7.68%) has the highest percentage of articles. Young, Richard A, with 32 publications, ranks first in the number of articles. The top three authors came from Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research as a research team. More than two-thirds of the research are supported by the National Institutes of Health of the United States (337, 37.654%) and the United States Department of Health Human Services (337, 37.654%). And "super enhancer" (525), "cell identity" (258), "expression" (223), "cancer" (205), and "transcription factor" (193) account for the top 5 occurrence keywords. Discussion: Since 2013, SE and cancer related publications have shown a rapid growth trend. The United States continues to play a leading role in this field, as the top literature numbers, affiliations, funding agencies, and authors were all from the United States, followed by China and European countries. A high degree of active cooperation is evident among a multitude of countries. The role of SEs in cell identity, gene transcription, expression, and inhibition, as well as the relationship between SEs and TFs, and the selective inhibition of SEs, have received much attention, suggesting that they are hot issues for research.

Abstract
Owing to their unique and sustainable surface plasmonic properties, Al nanocrystals have attracted increasing attention for plasmonic-enhanced applications, including single-particle surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). However, whether Al nanocrystals can achieve single-particle SERS is still unknown, mainly due to the synthetic difficulty of Al nanocrystals with internal gaps. Herein, we report a regrowth method for the synthesis of Al nanohexapods with tunable and uniform internal gaps for single-particle SERS with an enhancement factor of up to 1.79 × 108. The uniform branches of the Al nanohexapods can be systematically tuned regarding their dimensions, terminated facets, and internal gaps. The Al nanohexapods generate hot spots concentrated in the internal gaps due to the strong plasmonic coupling between the branches. A single-particle SERS measurement of Al nanohexapods shows strong Raman signals with maximum enhancement factors comparable to that of Au counterparts. The large enhancement factor indicates that Al nanohexapods are good candidates for single-particle SERS.

Abstract
Seeking sensitive, large-scale, and low-cost substrates is highly important for practical applications of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technology. Noble metallic plasmonic nanostructures with dense hot spots are considered an effective construction to enable sensitive, uniform, and stable SERS performance and thus have attracted wide attention in recent years. In this work, we reported a simple fabrication method to achieve wafer-scale ultradense tilted and staggered plasmonic metallic nanopillars filled with numerous nanogaps (hot spots). By adjusting the etching time of the PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) layer, the optimal SERS substrate with the densest metallic nanopillars was obtained, which possessed a detection limit down to 10-13 M by using crystal violet as the detected molecules and exhibited excellent reproducibility and long-term stability. Furthermore, the proposed fabrication approach was further used to prepare flexible substrates; for example, a SERS flexible substrate was proven to be an ideal platform for analyzing low-concentration pesticide residues on curved fruit surfaces with significantly enhanced sensitivity. This type of SERS substrate possesses potential in real-life applications as low-cost and high-performance sensors.

Abstract
This study employed bibliometric analysis to examine the current literature on Behcet Syndrome, an autoimmune disorder with complex pathophysiology and inadequate therapeutic options. The researchers collected 3,462 publications related to Behcet Syndrome from 2010 to 2021 via PubMed and conducted co-word and social network analyses to identify research hotspots and potential future directions. The co-word analysis produced a bibliographic data matrix, which revealed 72 high-frequency medical topic title (MeSH) terms. Using repeated dichotomy in the gCLUTO software, the researchers created a visualization matrix that classified the hot topics into six categories over the 12-year study period. The first quadrant contained six mature and well-developed research topics, including biological therapy, immunosuppressive agents, clinical manifestations, complications of Behcet Syndrome, Behcet Syndrome diagnosis, and aneurysm etiology and therapy. The third quadrant comprised four research topics with potential for growth, including Behcet Syndrome genetics and polymorphism, immunosuppressive agents, biological therapy and heart diseases, and thrombosis etiology. The fourth quadrant encompassed the pathophysiology of and quality of life in Behcet Syndrome as well as psychology. In the social network analysis, the researchers identified potential hotspots based on subject keywords close to the network's edge. These included genetic association studies, antibodies, genetic predisposition to disease/genetics, and monoclonal and humanized therapeutic use. Overall, this study's bibliometric analysis of Behcet Syndrome literature from the past 12 years identified unexplored subjects and developing hot spots that could lead to potential research directions for Behcet Syndrome.

Abstract
Here, the rational design of complex PtAu double nanoframes (DNFs) for plasmon-enhanced electrocatalytic activity toward the methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) is reported. The synthetic strategy for the DNFs consists of on-demand multiple synthetic chemical toolkits, including well-faceted Au growth, rim-on selective Pt deposition, and selective Au etching steps. DNFs are synthesized by utilizing Au truncated octahedrons (TOh) as a starting template. The outer octahedral (Oh) nanoframes (NFs) nest the inner TOh NFs, eventually forming DNFs with a tunable intra-nanogap distance. Residual Au adatoms on Pt skeletons act as light entrappers and produce plasmonic hot spots between inner and outer frames through localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) coupling, which promotes enhanced electrocatalytic activity for the MOR. Importantly, the correlation between the gap-induced hot carriers and electrocatalytic activity is evaluated. The highest catalytic activity is achieved when the gap is the narrowest. To further harness their light-trapping capability, hierarchically structured triple NFs (TNFs) are synthesized, wherein three NFs are entangled in a single entity with a high density of hot regions, exhibiting superior electrocatalytic activity toward the MOR with a sixfold larger current density under light irradiation compared to the dark conditions.

Abstract
Understanding and managing hot electrons in metals are of fundamental and practical interest in plasmonic studies and applications. A major challenge for the development of hot electron devices requires the efficient and controllable generation of long-lived hot electrons so that they can be harnessed effectively before relaxation. Here, we report the ultrafast spatiotemporal evolution of hot electrons in plasmonic resonators. Using femtosecond-resolution interferometric imaging, we show the unique periodic distributions of hot electrons due to standing plasmonic waves. In particular, this distribution can be flexibly tuned by the size, shape, and dimension of the resonator. We also demonstrate that the hot electron lifetimes are substantially prolonged at hot spots. This appealing effect is interpreted as a result of the locally concentrated energy density at the antinodes in standing hot electron waves. These results could be useful to control the distributions and lifetimes of hot electrons in plasmonic devices for targeted optoelectronic applications.

Abstract
In this paper, a hybrid wetting surface (HWS) with Au/Ag alloy nanocomposites was proposed for rapid, cost-effective, stable and sensitive SERS application. This surface was fabricated in a large area by facile electrospinning, plasma etching and photomask-assisted sputtering processes. The high-density 'hot spots' and rough surface from plasmonic alloy nanocomposites promoted the significant enhancement of the electromagnetic field. Meanwhile, the condensation effects induced by HWS further improved the density of target analytes at the SERS active area. Thus, the SERS signals increased ~4 orders of magnitude compared to the normal SERS substrate. In addition, the reproducibility, uniformity, as well as thermal performance of HWS were also examined by comparative experiments, indicating their high reliability, portability and practicability for on-site tests. The efficient results suggested that this smart surface had great potential to evolve as a platform for advanced sensor-based applications.

Abstract
Background The importance of psychological resilience that people show in coping with stress and adversity is prominent, but few studies have used rigorous bibliometric tools to analyze the knowledge structure and distribution of psychological resilience research. Objective The purpose of this study was to sort out and summarize the previous studies on psychological resilience by using bibliometrics. Specifically, the time distribution of psychological resilience research was determined by publication trend, the power distribution was determined by the distribution of countries, authors, institutions and journals, the hot research spots were analyzed according to the results of keyword cluster analysis, and the research frontier was explored according to the results of burst keywords. Methods CiteSpace5.8.R3 was used to analyze the literatures on psychological resilience collected in Web of Science core Collection database from January 1, 2010, to June 16, 2022. Results A total of 8462 literatures were included after screening. Research on psychological resilience has been on the rise in recent years. The United States had made a high contribution in this field. Robert H Pietrzak, George A Bonanno, Connor KM and others were highly influential. J Pers Soc Psychol has the highest citation frequency and centrality. The research hot spots focus on five aspects: study on psychological resilience related to COVID-19 pandemic, influencing factors of psychological resilience, psychological resilience related to PTSD, study on psychological resilience of special population, and the molecular biology and genetic basis of psychological resilience. Psychological resilience related to COVID-19 pandemic was the most cutting-edge research aspect. Conclusion The current situation and trend of psychological resilience research were found in this study, which may be used to identify more hot issues and explore new research directions in this field.

Abstract
Background Sichuan Province is severely affected by the HIV epidemic in China. Little is known about the characteristics of recent infections among new HIV diagnoses, which is critical to prevention strategies, evaluation of the HIV epidemic and health resource allocation. Meanwhile, individuals at primary stages of infection are related to the hot-spot areas of ongoing transmission in new HIV diagnoses, which is also rarely known. Objective This article aimed to report the proportion of recent infections among new HIV diagnoses, and to reveal demographic characteristics associated with HIV recent infections, and finally, to indicate the hot-spot areas of ongoing transmission in Sichuan province between 2018 and 2020. Methods Limiting Antigen (LAg)-Avidity assay was performed to detect recent infection within new HIV diagnoses reported in odd months between 2018 and 2020. Results were reclassified according to the data on CD4 cell count, antiretroviral treatment and the existence of an AIDS-defining illness. Logistic regression was used to determine characteristics associated with HIV recent infections. The spatial analysis was conducted with ArcGIS 10.7 to figure hot-spot areas of HIV recent infections. Results 42,089 newly diagnosed HIV-1 cases were tested using the LAg-Avidity EIA. In total, 5848 (13.89%) of those were classified as HIV recent infections. Female, age between 18-25 years and men who had sex with men were related to higher proportion of HIV recent infections. Logistic regression revealed that MSM aged between 18-25 years were more likely to be classified as recent infection. Spatial analysis demonstrated significant clustering in Chengdu, Yibin, Luzhou city between 2018 and 2020. Hot spots were mainly clustered in the center of Sichuan in 2018, but gradually spread to southwest and northwest between 2019 and 2020. Conclusion Enhanced preventive measures among relevant risk groups and areas where the potential HIV-1 transmission is ongoing is urgently needed to curb further spread.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Spatial properties of a dose distribution, such as volumes of contiguous hot spots, are of clinical importance in treatment planning for high dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR BT). We have in an earlier study developed an optimization model that reduces the prevalence of contiguous hot spots by modifying a tentative treatment plan. PURPOSE The aim of this study is to incorporate the correction of hot spots in a standard inverse planning workflow and to validate the integrated model in a clinical treatment planning system. The spatial function is included in the objective function for the inverse planning, as opposed to in the previous study where it was applied as a separate post-processing step. Our aim is to demonstrate that fine-adjustments of dose distributions, which are often performed manually in today's clinical practice, can be automated. METHODS A spatial optimization function was introduced in the treatment planning system RayStation (RaySearch Laboratories AB, Stockholm, Sweden) via a research interface. A series of 10 consecutive prostate patients treated with HDR BT was retrospectively replanned with and without the spatial function. RESULTS Optimization with the spatial function decreased the volume of the largest contiguous hot spot by on average 31%, compared to if the function was not included. The volume receiving at least 200% of the prescription dose decreased by on average 11%. Target coverage, measured as the fractions of the clinical target volume (CTV) and the planning target volume (PTV) receiving at least the prescription dose, was virtually unchanged (less than a percent change for both metrics). Organs-at-risk received comparable or slightly decreased doses if the spatial function was included in the optimization model. CONCLUSIONS Optimization of spatial properties such as the volume of contiguous hot spots can be integrated in a standard inverse planning workflow for brachytherapy, and need not be conducted as a separate post-processing step.

Abstract
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC)is the third most common cancer in the world and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths, and over the past two decades, many of these researchers have provided a substantial amount of important information on the role of gut microbes in the development and progression of CRC. A causal relationship between the presence of specific microorganisms and CRC development has also been validated. Although a large number of papers related to this area have been published, no bibliometric study has been conducted to review the current state of research in this area and to highlight the research trends and hotspots in this area. This study aims to analyze the current status and future research trends of gut microbiota and CRC through bibliometric analysis. Methods Publications from 2001 to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database and screened according to inclusion criteria. VOSviewer and CiteSpace software were used to visualize the research trends in this field, including the analysis of title, country, institution, author, number of publications, year of publication, number of citations, journal, and H-index. Results A total of 863 studies were eventually identified, and the articles retrieved were cited an average of 44.85 times each. The number of publications on this topic has been increased steadily since 2011. China and the USA have made the largest contribution in the field. FRONTIERS IN MICROBIOLOGY is the top productive journal with 26 papers, and Gut journal has the highest average citation (167.23). Shanghai Jiao Tong University is the most contributive institution. Professor Yu J, Sung, Joseph J. Y and Fang JY are the most productive authors in this field. Keyword co-occurrence analysis showed that the terms of "Gut Microbiota", "Colorectal Cancer", "Inflammation", "Probiotic" and "Fusobacterium Nucleatum" were the most frequent, which revealed the research hotpots and trends in this field. Conclusions There has been a growing number of publications over the past two decades according to the global trends. China and the USA still maintained the leading position in this field. However, collaboration between institutions needs to be strengthened. It's commended to pay attention to the latest hotspots, such as "F. nucleatum" and "probiotics". This bibliometric analysis evaluates the scope and trends of gut microbiota and CRC, providing a useful perspective on current research and future directions for studying the link between the gut microbiota and CRC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Subacute thyroiditis (SAT) is the most prevalent self-limiting thyroid disease that causes pain, accounting for about 5% of all clinical thyroid disorders. Numerous clinically noteworthy results have been published in this area over the last 20 years. However, no article has comprehensively assessed the relevant literature yet. We conducted a bibliometric analysis of SAT to provide light on the dynamic nature of scientific advancement and aid researchers in gaining a global perspective while examining research core themes and hotspots. METHODS SAT-related articles and reviews from 2001 to 2022 were retrieved from the Science Citation Index-Expanded of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). We analyzed current research trends and hotspots in this area using CiteSpace and Vosviewer. RESULTS A total of 568 studies associated with SAT research were published in 282 academic journals by 2,473 authors in 900 institutions from 61 countries/regions. The United States was a crucial link in inter-country/region collaboration and was the most frequently involved country in international cooperation. The University of Missouri System was the top organization, and Braley-Mullen H. was the most productive researcher. Thyroid published the most papers, with 36 publications. The most co-cited article was "Clinical features and outcome of subacute thyroiditis in an incidence cohort: Olmsted County, Minnesota, study" (by Fatourechi V., 2003). The clustered network and timeline view of keywords showed that the prevalence, diagnosis, and treatment of SAT were the research core themes during the past 20 years. Analysis of keyword bursts indicated that the clinical characteristic and the influence of COVID-19 on SAT appeared to be the current research hotspots. CONCLUSION This bibliometric analysis conducted a thorough review of the SAT research. The clinical characteristics and the genetic background of SAT under the influence of COVID-19 are current research hotspots. However, there is still a need for further study and global collaboration. Our findings can aid researchers in understanding the current status of SAT research and immediately pinpoint new directions for further investigation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The gut microbiota is involved in the regulation of pain, which is proved by plenty of evidence. Although a substantial quantity of research on the link between the gut microbiota and pain has emerged, no study has focused on the bibliometric analysis of this topic. We aim to present a bibliometric review of publications over the past 20 years and predict research hot spots. METHODS Relevant publications between 2002 and 2021 were extracted from the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database on April 22, 2022. CiteSpace (version 5.8 R3c), VOSviewer, the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology, and the R package bibliometrix were used to analyze and visualize. RESULTS A total of 233 articles have been published between 2002 and 2021. The number of publication outputs increased rapidly since 2016. The collaboration network revealed that the USA, Baylor College of Medicine, and Vassilia Theodorou were the most influential country, institute, and scholar, respectively. Alimentary pharmacology and therapeutics and Gut were the most co-cited journal and Neurogastroenterology and Motility was the most productive journal. Visceral sensitivity, fibromyalgia, gastrointestinal, chronic pain, stress, gut microbiome, LGG, brain-gut axis, SLAB51, and sequencing were the top 10 clusters in co-occurrence cluster analysis. Keyword burst detection indicated that the brain-gut axis and short-chain fatty acid were the current research hot spots. CONCLUSION Research on the links between the gut microbiota and pain has increased rapidly since 2016. The current research focused on the brain-gut axis and short-chain fatty acid. Accordingly, the SCFAs-mediated mechanism of pain regulation will be a research direction of great importance on the links between the gut microbiota and pain. This study provided instructive assistance to direct future research efforts on the links between the gut microbiota and pain.

Abstract
Peru has been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. By January 2022, Peru had surpassed 200 000 COVID-19 deaths, constituting the highest death rate per capita worldwide. Peru has had several limitations during the pandemic: insufficient testing access, limited contact tracing, a strained medical infrastructure, and many economic hurdles. These limitations hindered the gathering of accurate information about infected individuals with spatial resolution in real time, a critical aspect of effectively controlling the pandemic. Wastewater monitoring for SARS-CoV-2 RNA offered a promising alternative for providing needed population-wide information to complement health care indicators. In this study, we demonstrate the feasibility and value of implementing a decentralized SARS-CoV-2 RNA wastewater monitoring system to assess the spatiotemporal distribution of COVID-19 in three major cities in Peru: Lima, Callao, and Arequipa. Our data on viral loads showed the same trends as health indicators such as incidence and mortality. Furthermore, we were able to identify hot spots of contagion within the surveyed urban areas to guide the efforts of health authorities. Viral decay in the sewage network of the cities studied was found to be negligible (<2%). Overall, our results support wastewater monitoring for SARS-CoV-2 as a valuable and cost-effective tool for monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic in the Peruvian context.

Abstract
Based on a 12-year bibliographic record collected from the Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) database, the present study aims to provide a macroscopic overview of the knowledge domain in financial decision making (FDM). A scientometric and bibliometric analysis was conducted on the literature published in the field from 2010 to 2021, using the CiteSpace software. The analysis focuses on the co-occurring categories, the geographic distributions, the vital references, the distribution of topics, as well as the research fronts and emerging trends of financial related decision making. The steady increase of papers published year by year demonstrated the increasing interest on this topic at the international level. The scientometric analysis of the literature showed that financial decision, investment decision, and financing decision stood out of the crowd of the research on FDM, suggesting their important role in FDM and its research. The results of citation burst analysis predicted the focus of topics, i.e., the impact of individual differences such as financial literacy, gender and age on FDM in the coming years. Different from the traditional approach of literature review, this bibliometric analysis offers a scientometric approach to reveal the status quo and the development trend of FDM by macro and quantitative means. In addition, future research directions for the field are recommended.

Abstract
How to fabricate large area controllable surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) active nanostructure substrates has always been one of the important issues in the development of nanostructure devices. In this paper, nano-etching technology and magnetron sputtering technology are combined to prepare nanostructure substrate with evolvable structure, and Ag/TiO2/Ag composites are introduced into the evolvable composite structure. The activity of SERS is further enhanced by the combination of TiO2 and Ag and the electron transfer characteristics of TiO2 itself. Deposition, plasma etching, and transfer are carried out on self-assembled 200 nm polystyrene (PS) colloidal sphere arrays. Due to the shadow effect between colloidal spheres and the size of metal particles introduced by deposition, a series of Ag/TiO2/Ag nanostructure arrays with adjustable nanostructure substrates such as nano-cap (NC), nano cap-star (NCS), and nano particle-disk (NPD) can be obtained. These nanoarrays with rough surfaces and different evolutionary structures can uninterruptedly regulate optical plasmon resonance and reconstruct SERS hotspots over a large range, which has potential application value in surface science, chemical detection, nanometer photonics, and so on.

Abstract
Gold nanocubes (AuNCs) with tunable localized surface plasmon resonance properties are good candidates for plasmonic gap nanostructures (PGNs) with hot spots (areas with intense electric field localization). Nevertheless, it remains challenging to create shape-controllable nanogaps between AuNCs. Herein, we report a DNA origami directed pattern recognition strategy to assemble AuNCs into PGNs. By tuning the position and number of capture strands on the DNA origami template, different geometrical configurations of PGNs with nanometer-precise and shape-controllable gaps are created. The localized field enhancement in these gaps can generate hot spots that are in accordance with finite difference time domain simulations. Benefiting from the single Raman probe molecule precisely anchored at these nanogaps, the dramatic enhanced electromagnetic fields localized in hot spots arouse stronger single-molecule SERS (SM-SERS) signals. This method can be utilized in the design of ultrahigh-sensitivity photonic devices with tailored optical properties and SERS-based applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dignity-conserved nursing has been widely studied by scholars all over the world; however, there is no clear direction in which this field is trending. AIM To conduct a bibliometric analysis that systematically characterises publications on dignity research in the nursing field from 2011 to 2020. DESIGN Bibliometric and visual analysis of retrieved articles. METHODS The Web of Science Core Collection database was used to retrieve all articles which addressed dignity in nursing from 2011 to 2020. The WoSCC's own analysis tool, CiteSpace and VOSviewer, were used to obtain visual analysis results. Reporting follows the STROBE checklist. RESULTS A total of 1429 papers on dignity care are included in this study. We found that the number of papers on this topic increased steadily, and the United States topped the list with 366 articles in total. The institute with the most publications was King's College London, and the most widely published journal was Nursing Ethics. We were able to identify four major research topics, namely dignity in: (a) palliative care, (b) dementia and the elderly, (c) health care and (d) nursing ethics. Terminally ill patient, home, value, rehabilitation and psychological distress were the five keywords with the highest burst strength. CONCLUSIONS The interest in dignity care research has been steadily increasing from 2011 and is reflected in the number of published papers. The United States and Western Europe are leading in this field, both having a high number of cutting-edge researchers and high-level scientific research institutions. In the domain of dignity care, several stable and high-yield core author groups have been formed. While the existing research mainly focuses on four hot spots, psychological distress, advanced cancer, maternity care and content analysis may be the research frontiers.

Abstract
In this study, we propose a new technique for mapping the spatial heterogeneity in gas exchange around flux towers using flux footprint modeling and focusing on detecting hot spots of methane (CH4) flux. In the first part of the study, we used a CH4 release experiment to evaluate three common flux footprint models: the Hsieh model (Hsieh et al., 2000), the Kljun model (Kljun et al., 2015), and the K & M model (Kormann and Meixner, 2001), finding that the K & M model was the most accurate under these conditions. In the second part of the study, we introduce the Footprint-Weighted Flux Map, a new technique to map spatial heterogeneity in fluxes. Using artificial CH4 release experiments, natural tracer approaches and flux chambers we mapped the spatial flux heterogeneity, and detected and validated a hot spot of CH4 flux in a oligohaline restored marsh. Through chamber measurements during the months of April and May, we found that fluxes at the hot spot were on average as high as 6589 ± 7889 nmol m-2 s-1 whereas background flux from the open water were on average 15.2 ± 7.5 nmol m-2 s-1. This study provides a novel tool to evaluate the spatial heterogeneity of fluxes around eddy-covariance towers and creates important insights for the interpretation of hot spots of CH4 flux, paving the way for future studies aiming to understand subsurface biogeochemical processes and the microbiological conditions that lead to the occurrence of hot spots and hot moments of CH4 flux.

Abstract
Objectives The aim of this study was to evaluate the global scientific output of research on infertility and psychology; explore the current status and trends in this field through the cooperation of authors, countries, and institutions; shed light on the direction of clinical infertility research in the future, and provide inspiration for targeted diagnosis and treatment of infertility. Methods Research publications on infertility and psychology from the past two decades were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Bibliometric analyses were performed using VOSviewer software and the bibliometrix R package. Network maps were generated to evaluate the collaborations between different authors, countries, institutions, and keywords. Results A total of 151 articles related to the study of infertility and psychology were identified. We observed a gradual increase in the number of publications from 2001 to 2021, and the trend has been relatively stable in the past eight years. Human Reproduction (England), as the leading journal publishing the most papers (29 articles), was cited in the most journals (1208 times). Boivin J was the most prolific author (16 articles), with the largest number of citations (890 times) and the highest h-index (14) during the past decades. Boivin J was also the leader with the highest publication frequency and more active cooperation with other top authors. The United Kingdom (34 papers) and Cardiff University (25 articles) contributed the most publications and were the leading contributors in this field. Active cooperation between countries and between institutions was observed, and analyses of articles and references were also shown. The main hot topics included matters related to women (39 times), in-vitro salt (31 times), infertility (30 times), couples (25 times), and impact (24 times). Conclusion Our study results provide a comprehensive overview of the development of scientific literature, allowing relevant authors and research teams to recognize the current research status in this field. At the same time, infertility and psychology may soon become hotspots and should be closely monitored.

Abstract
In this work, we designed and prepared a hierarchically assembled 3D plasmonic metal-dielectric-metal (PMDM) hybrid nano-architecture for high-performance surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensing. The fabrication of the PMDM hybrid nanostructure was achieved by the thermal evaporation of Au film followed by thermal dewetting and the atomic layer deposition (ALD) of the Al2O3 dielectric layer, which is crucial for creating numerous nanogaps between the core Au and the out-layered Au nanoparticles (NPs). The PMDM hybrid nanostructures exhibited strong SERS signals originating from highly enhanced electromagnetic (EM) hot spots at the 3 nm Al2O3 layer serving as the nanogap spacer, as confirmed by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation. The PMDM SERS substrate achieved an outstanding SERS performance, including a high sensitivity (enhancement factor, EF of 1.3 × 108 and low detection limit 10-11 M) and excellent reproducibility (relative standard deviation (RSD) < 7.5%) for rhodamine 6G (R6G). This study opens a promising route for constructing multilayered plasmonic structures with abundant EM hotspots for the highly sensitive, rapid, and reproducible detection of biomolecules.

Abstract
Background and Aims: To evaluate endoscopic sedation research and predict research hot spots both quantitatively and qualitatively using bibliometric analysis. Methods: We extracted relevant publications from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) on 13 December 2020. We examined the retrieved data by bibliometric analysis (e.g., co-cited and cluster analysis, keyword co-occurrence) using the software CiteSpace and VOSviewer and the website of bibliometrics, the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology (http://bibliometric.com/), to analyse and predict the trends and hot spots in this field. Main Results: We identified 2,879 articles and reviews on endoscopic sedation published between 2001 and 2020. Although the overall trend is increasing, with slight fluctuation in some years, there were significant increases in 2007 and 2012. In respect of the contributions on endoscopic sedation research, the United States (US) had the greatest number of publications, and it was followed by Japan and China. In addition, collaboration network analysis revealed that the most frequent collaboration was between the US and China. Six of the top ten most prolific research institutions were located in the US. The most publications on endoscopic sedation research in the past two decades were found primarily in journals on gastroenterology and hepatology. Keyword co-occurrence and co-citation cluster analysis revealed the most popular terms relating to endoscopic sedation in the manner of cluster labels; these included patient anxiety, tolerance, ketamine, propofol, hypoxia, nursing shortage, endoscopic ultrasonography, colorectal cancer, carbon dioxide insufflation, and water exchange (WE). Keyword burst detection suggested that propofol sedation, adverse event, adenoma detection rate (ADR), hypoxemia, and obesity were newly-emergent research hot spots. Conclusions: Our findings showed that hypoxia, adverse event, and ADR, along with conscious sedation and propofol sedation, have been foci of endoscopic sedation research over the past 20 years. The research focus has shifted from sedative drugs to sedative complications and endoscopy quality control, which means that there will be higher requirements and standards for sedative quality and endoscopy quality in the future.

Abstract
Background Hundreds of studies have reported the application of iodine-131 (I-131) in thyroid carcinoma (THCA) in past years. However, the status of research in the field and other related topics have not been investigated. This study aimed to identify the cooperation of authors, countries, and institutions, as well as explore the hot topics and prospects regarding I-131 therapy in THCA based on previous studies. Methods Publications from 2010 to 2020 were retrieved from Web of Science Core Collection according to research strategy. Bibliometric analyses were performed using VOSviewer 1.6.15 and CiteSpace 5.7.3 to evaluate and visualize the cooperation network, hot topic, and research frontier. Results The number of publications showed a trend of fluctuation between 2010 and 2020. We identified 1387 publications related to I-131 therapy in THCA, which were published by 1628 institutions from 82 countries. The largest proportion of publications were emanated from the USA, and the majority of papers were published by Thyroid. Shanghai Jiao Tong University of China contributed the most papers. Although many authors participated in the research of this field, high-yield authors were few. Co-occurrence analysis classified keywords into five clusters, including assessment, efficacy measurement, monitoring, hormone regulation, and guidelines of I-131 therapy. The terms “bone marrow dosimetry and time” were among the latest hotspots. The research frontier topic in I-131 therapy focused on the “P53 and anti-Müllerian hormone”. Conclusion The attention to I-131 therapy in THCA should be increased considerably. It was necessary to construct active co-operations between authors, countries, and institutions to promote the development of this field. Recent researches referred to the timing and dose assessment of I-131 therapy in THCA. Future studies likely focused on targeted therapy and adverse effects evaluation were worthy of research as well.

Abstract
AIM The present study aims to explore the research hot spots, development trends and knowledge structure of dignity in the nursing field. DESIGN Quantitative and co-word biclustering analysis were used. METHODS Articles on dignity care published from 01 Jan 2011 to 31 Dec 2020, were retrieved from PubMed. The extracted Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) terms were quantitatively analysed using Bibliographic Item Co-occurrence Matrix Builder software. To determine the hot spots, a biclustering analysis was completed using gCluto1.0 software. A strategic diagram and a social network analysis (SNA) were used to reveal trends in the theme and knowledge structure. RESULTS In the parameters of the retrieval strategy, a total of 1977 papers were included in the present study. Amongst all the extracted MeSH terms, 27 high-frequency MeSH terms were identified, and the hot spots were grouped into five categories. These were namely dignity in: (1) dementia care, (2) palliative care, (3) older people care, (4) healthcare and (5) clinical nursing. In the strategic diagram, the study of dignity in clinical nursing was active and should become an emerging field of research in the near future. CONCLUSIONS Based on the co-word biclustering of dignity care over the past 10 years, five hot spots were identified, and it was predicted that research on dignity in clinical nursing would be the main trend in future studies. Amongst the five themes it was interesting to note that dignity in dementia and palliative care are core priorities to which scholars should pay more attention. IMPACT In recent years, dignity-conserving care has been highly valued, however, there are few relevant bibliometric articles that can be referenced on this topic. The present study was considered to offer novel insights into research on dignity in nursing and could be a reliable reference point for researchers when launching new projects.

Abstract
Background Bibliometric analysis is used to gain a systematic understanding of developments in the field of the influence of anesthesia on tumor prognosis and changes in research hot spots over the past 20 years. Methods Relevant publications from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) were downloaded on May 5, 2021. Acquired data were then analyzed using the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology (http://biblimetric.com) and the CiteSpace software was used to analyze and predict trends and hot spots in this field. Results 1,521 publications on the influence of anesthesia on tumor prognosis were identified and 1494 qualifying records were included in the final analysis. The leading country in this field was the United States of America (USA). The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX, USA) and Pennsylvania State University (State College, PA, USA) featured the highest number of publications among all institutions. Co-citation cluster labels revealed characteristics of ten main clusters: total intravenous anesthesia, opioid growth factor receptor, gastric cancer cell, opioid receptor, murine model, natural killer cell activity, health-related quality, glioma cell, opioid switching and mu-type opioid receptor. Keyword burst detection indicated that randomized controlled trials (RCTs), volatile anesthetics, and ropivacaine were the newly emerging research hot spots. Conclusions This study compiled 1494 publications covering anesthesia and tumor prognosis research and showed that the direction of these studies is likely in transition from opioids and their receptors to other anesthetics, and from retrospective studies to prospective randomized controlled trials. It provides guidance for further research and clinical applications on choosing anesthetic methods and drugs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) has long been recognized as an important drug target for proliferative and parasitic diseases, including compounds that exhibit trypanocidal action and broad-spectrum antiviral activity. Despite numerous and successful efforts in structural and functional characterization of DHODHs, as well as in the development of inhibitors, DHODH hot spots remain largely unmapped and underexplored. OBJECTIVE This review describes the tools that are currently available for the identification and characterization of hot spots in protein structures and how freely available webservers can be exploited to predict DHODH hot spots. Moreover, it provides for the first time a review of the antiviral properties of DHODH inhibitors. <P> Method: X-ray structures from human (HsDHODH) and Trypanosoma cruzi DHODH (TcDHODH) had their hot spots predicted by both FTMap and Fragment Hotspot Maps web servers. <P> Results: FTMap showed that hot spot occupancy in HsDHODH is correlated with the ligand efficiency (LE) of its known inhibitors, and Fragment Hotspot Maps pointed out the contribution of selected moieties to the overall LE. The conformational flexibility of the active site loop in TcDHODH was found to have a major impact on the druggability of the orotate binding site. In addition, both FTMap and Fragment Hotspot Maps servers predict a novel pocket in TcDHODH dimer interface (S6 site). <P> Conclusion: This review reports how hot spots can be exploited during hit-to-lead steps, docking studies or even to improve inhibitor binding profile and by doing so using DHODH as a model, points to new drug development opportunities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) has attracted increasing attention over the past few decades. We aim to evaluate FAI research and predict research hot spots quantitatively and qualitatively. METHODS The publications in FAI research between 2000 and 2019 were assimilated from the Web of Science Core Collection of Clarivate Analytics. The retrieved data were evaluated by the bibliometric method. Software CiteSpace 5.7.R1, VOSviewer 1.6.15, and the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology (http://bibliometric.com/) were used to analyze and identify the hot spots and trends in this field. RESULTS A total of 2471 originals articles that fulfilled the study requirements were obtained. The number of manuscripts on FAI has experienced rapid growth, especially after 2009. The United States of America was the leading country for publication and to the collaboration network. FAI, osteoarthritis, hip arthroscopy, labral reconstruction, pathomorphology, outcome, rehabilitation, and joint cartilage are some of the high-frequency keywords in co-occurrence cluster analysis and cocited reference cluster analysis. Burst detection analysis of top keywords revealed that outcomes, instability, labral reconstruction, adolescent, and risk factor were newly emerged research hot spots. CONCLUSION The understanding of FAI has been improved significantly during the past two decades. Present studies focused on identifying the optimal method to treat labral pathology, outcome assessment of either surgeries or conservative managements, and predicting midterm and long-term outcomes. Together these studies exert critical implications for decision-making and management for FAI.

Abstract
RESEARCH SUMMARY The onset of extreme social distancing measures is expected to have a dramatic impact on crime. Here, we examine the impact of mandated, city-wide social distancing orders aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19 on gang-related crime in Los Angeles. We hypothesize that the unique subcultural processes surrounding gangs may supersede calls to shelter in place and allow gang-related crime to persist. If the normal guardianship of people and property is also disrupted by social distancing, then we expect gang violence to increase. Using autoregressive time series models, we show that gang-related crime remained stable and crime hot spots largely stationary following the onset of shelter in place. POLICY IMPLICATIONS In responding to disruptions to social and economic life on the scale of the present pandemic, both police and civilian organizations need to anticipate continued demand, all while managing potential reductions to workforce. Police are faced with this challenge across a wide array of crime types. Civilian interventionists tasked with responding to gang-related crime need to be prepared for continued peacekeeping and violence interruption activities, but also an expansion of responsibilities to deal with "frontline" or "street-level" management of public health needs.

Abstract
Spatial hot spots of COVID-19 infections and fatalities are observed at places exposed to high levels of air pollution across many countries. This study empirically investigates the relationship between exposure to air pollutants that is, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and particulate matter (SO2, NO2, and PM10) and COVID-19 infection at the smallest administrative level (ward) of Mumbai City in India. The paper explores two hypotheses: COVID-19 infection is associated with air pollution; the pollutants act as determinants of COVID-19 deaths. Kriging is used to assess the spatial variations of air quality using pollution data, while information on COVID-19 are retrieved from the database of Mumbai municipality. Annual average of PM10 in Mumbai over the past 3 years is much higher than the WHO specified standard across all wards; further, suburbs are more exposed to SO2, and NO2 pollution. Bivariate local indicator of spatial autocorrelation finds significant positive relation between pollution and COVID-19 infected cases in certain suburban wards. Spatial Auto Regressive models suggest that COVID-19 death in Mumbai is distinctly associated with higher exposure to NO2, population density and number of waste water drains. If specific pollutants along with other factors play considerable role in COVID-19 infection, it has strong implications for any mitigation strategy development with an objective to curtail the spreading of the respiratory disease. These findings, first of its kind in India, could prove to be significant pointers toward disease alleviation and better urban living.

Abstract
Background: Microbubbles are widely used as highly effective contrast agents to improve the diagnostic capability of ultrasound imaging. Mounting evidence suggests that ultrasound coupled with microbubbles has promising therapeutic applications in cancer, cardiovascular, and neurological disorders by acting as gene or drug carriers. The aim of this study was to identify the scientific output and activity related to ultrasound microbubble through bibliometric approaches. Methods: The literature related to ultrasound microbubble published between 1998 and 2019 was identified and selected from the Science Citation Index Expanded of Web of Science Core Collection on February 21, 2021. The Scopus database was also searched to validate the results and provided as supplementary material. Quantitative variables including number of publications and citations, H-index, and journal citation reports were analyzed by using Microsoft Excel 2019 and GraphPad Prism 8.0 software. VOS viewer and CiteSpace V were used to perform coauthorship, citation, co-citation, and co-occurrence analysis for countries/regions, institutions, authors, and keywords. Results: A total of 6088 publications from the WoSCC were included. The United States has made the largest contribution in this field, with the majority of publications (2090, 34.3%), citations (90,741, 46.6%), the highest H-index (138), and close collaborations with China and Canada. The most contributive institution was the University of Toronto. Professors De Jong N and Dayton P A have made great achievements in this field. However, the research cooperation between institutions and authors was relatively weak. All the studies could be divided into four clusters: "ultrasound diagnosis study," "microbubbles' characteristics study," "gene therapy study," and "drug delivery study." The average appearing years (AAY) of keywords in the cluster "drug delivery study" was more recent than other clusters. For promising hot spots, "doxorubicin" showed a relatively latest AAY of 2015.49, followed by "nanoparticles" and "breast cancer." Conclusion: There has been an increasing amount of scientific output on ultrasound microbubble according to the global trends, and the United States is staying ahead in this field. Collaboration between research teams still needs to be strengthened. The focus gradually shifts from "ultrasound diagnosis study" to "drug delivery study." It is recommended to pay attention to the latest hot spots, such as "doxorubicin," "nanoparticles," and "breast cancer."

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Meniscus has always been the focus of sport medicine with thousands of articles published annually. Few study has tried to analyze these papers with bibliometric methods. The purpose of this study is to statistically analyze the output of meniscus research and determine emerging research trends and hot spots. METHODS Papers related to the meniscus published from 2010 to 2019 were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection. Information about annual publications and journal distribution was analyzed by Excel 2016. Co-occurrence analysis of the countries/regions, institutions, authors, and keywords were performed with CiteSpace V, which was also used to perform a co-cited analysis of the references and generate corresponding knowledge maps as well as detect burst keywords. RESULTS A total of 10,066 articles regarding meniscus were published between 2010 and 2019. The number of articles annual about meniscus increased from 786 to 1300. Knee Surgery Sports Traumatology Arthroscopy, the United States, University of Pittsburgh, and LaPrade RF were journal, country, institution, and author with the most publications, respectively. Makris EA et al. in 2011 was the most cited articles, with a citation of 198. Osteoarthritis, tear repair, anterior cruciate ligament, and articular cartilage were keywords with occurrence of more than 500. Meniscal extrusion, scaffold, and tissue engineering were terms with most burst strength. CONCLUSIONS Meniscus-related publications showed a gradual rising trend from 2010 to 2019. Osteoarthritis, tear repairs, and the anterior cruciate ligament are the current research hot spots. Extrusion and scaffolds may be the frontiers of meniscus research in the next few years. Abstract
Human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA integration is a crucial event in cervical carcinogenesis. However, scarce studies have focused on studying HPV integration (HPVint) in early-stage cervical lesions. Using HPV capture followed by sequencing, we investigated HPVint in pre-tumor cervical lesions. Employing a novel pipeline, we analyzed reads containing direct evidence of the integration breakpoint. We observed multiple HPV infections in most of the samples (92%) with a median integration rate of 0.06% relative to HPV mapped reads corresponding to two or more sequence breakages. Unlike cancer studies, most integrations events were unique (supported by one read), consistent with the lack of clonal selection. Congruent to other studies, we found that breakpoints could occur, practically, in any part of the viral genome. We noted that L1 had a higher frequency of rupture integration (25%). Based on host genome integration frequencies, we found previously reported integration sites in cancer for genes like FHIT, CSMD1, and LRP1B and putatively many new ones such as those exemplified in CSMD3, ROBO2, and SETD3. Similar host integrations regions and genes were observed in diverse HPV types within many genes and even equivalent integration positions in different samples and HPV types. Interestingly, we noted an enrichment of integrations in most centromeres, suggesting a possible mechanism where HPV exploits this structural machinery to facilitate integration. Supported by previous findings, overall, our analysis provides novel information and insights about HPVint.

Abstract
Background With the popularization of knee replacement surgery in the treatment of the advanced lesions of knee joint, the amount of knee revision surgery is increasing unceasingly. Meanwhile, the continuous introduction of new clinical concepts and new technology poses a challenge to researchers and surgeons. Our study aims to inform the future scientific research and clinical treatment, by investigating the hot spots and trends of the knee revision research field with the method of bibliometric analysis. Methods Publications on knee revision included in the database of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) between 2000 and 2018 were reviewed and MeSH terms of them were extracted from PubMed. Online bibliometric analysis website (http://bibliometric.com/), two pieces of software called “CiteSpace” and “Bibliographic Item Co-Occurrence Matrix Builder” (BICOMB) were used to analyze the publications reviewed at quantitative level. Another piece of software called “gCLUTO”, was used to investigate the hot spots with visualization techniques at qualitative level. Results A total of 906 publications were retrieved between 2000 and 2018. There is an increasing number of publications, from 15 in 2000 to 86 in 2018. Journal of Arthroplasty is the leading journal which has the most publications on knee revision. The United States has been the biggest contributor. Mayo Clinic became the leader among the institutions which have conducted correlational researches. David G. Lewallen, Robert L. Barrack and Michael A. Mont should be regarded as the scholars who have made outstanding contribution. Hot spots were summed up in six clusters, respectively, the solutions for infection, prostheses, the adverse effects, the surgical techniques, epidemiological characters, and the pathophysiology of the revision knee. Conclusions We found a growing trend in knee revision research and extracted the most contributive researchers, institutions, countries, journals, and most-cited articles worldwide. The solutions for complications, surgical applications and analysis for epidemiological characters have been the hot spots. Multi-disciplinary integration is becoming the time-trend of hot spots. Minimally invasive and navigation are directions of revision surgery. They together constitute a solid foundation and set up a fingerpost for the future scientific research and clinical treatment.

Abstract
Drug discovery has focused on the paradigm "one drug, one target" for a long time. However, small molecules can act at multiple macromolecular targets, which serves as the basis for drug repurposing. In an effort to expand the target space, and given advances in X-ray crystallography, protein-protein interactions have become an emerging focus area of drug discovery enterprises. Proteins interact with other biomolecules and it is this intricate network of interactions that determines the behavior of the system and its biological processes. In this review, we briefly discuss networks in disease, followed by computational methods for protein-protein complex prediction. Computational methodologies and techniques employed towards objectives such as protein-protein docking, protein-protein interactions, and interface predictions are described extensively. Docking aims at producing a complex between proteins, while interface predictions identify a subset of residues on one protein that could interact with a partner, and protein-protein interaction sites address whether two proteins interact. In addition, approaches to predict hot spots and binding sites are presented along with a representative example of our internal project on the chemokine CXC receptor 3 B-isoform and predictive modeling with IP10 and PF4.

Abstract
Changing the morphology of noble metal nanoparticles and polarization dependence of nanoparticles with different morphologies is an important part of further research on surface plasma enhancement. Therefore, we used the method based on Matlab simulation to provide a simple and effective method for preparing the morphologies of Au nanoparticles with different morphologies, and prepared the structure of Au nanoparticles with good uniformity and different morphologies by oblique angle deposition (OAD) technology. The change of the surface morphology of nanoparticles from spherical to square to diamond can be effectively controlled by changing the deposition angle. The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method was used to simulate the electromagnetic fields of Au nanoparticles with different morphologies to explore the polarization dependence of nanoparticles with different shapes, which was in good agreement with Raman spectrum.

Abstract
Laboratory animals are often used to derive health risk from environmental exposure or to assess the therapeutic effect of a drug delivered by inhaled therapy. Knowledge of the in-situ distribution of deposited particles on airway and alveolar surfaces is essential in any assessment of these effects. A unique database including both high-resolution lung anatomy and deposition data in four strains of laboratory mice have been recently made publicly available to the research community (https://doi.org/10.25820/9arg-9w56). Using these data, we investigated the effect of particle size on the distribution of deposited particles at the lobar and near-acini level. Analysis was performed on a total of 33 mice where 3, 16 and 14 animals were exposed to 0.5μm, 1μm and 2μm particles, respectively. Ratio of normalized deposition to normalized volume was calculated for each lobe (DV lobe ). At the near-acini level, the skew and standard deviation of the frequency distribution of particle deposition were calculated. Significant deviation above 1 was found for DV ratio in the cranial lobe (DV Cranial ). DV Middle , DV Caudal and DV Accessory were all significantly <1 and lower than DV left (p<0.01). At the near-acini level, skew and standard deviation were positively correlated with particle size and the presence of hot spots (high deposition) were mainly found in the apical region of the lung. These results highlight the uneven distribution of deposited particles in the mouse lung. Thus, depending on the lung sample location, individual analysis to determine overall deposition may either underestimate or overestimate total lung burden, at least for micron-sized particles.

Abstract
Infection and replication of SARS CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) requires entry to the interior of host cells. In humans, a protein-protein interaction (PPI) between the SARS CoV-2 receptor-binding domain (RBD) and the extracellular peptidase domain of ACE2 on the surface of cells in the lower respiratory tract is an initial step in the entry pathway. Inhibition of the SARS CoV-2 RBD/ACE2 PPI is currently being evaluated as a target for therapeutic and/or prophylactic intervention. However, relatively little is known about the molecular underpinnings of this complex. Employing multiple computational platforms, we predicted "hot-spot" residues in a positive-control PPI (PMI/MDM2) and the CoV-2 RBD/ACE2 complex. Computational alanine scanning mutagenesis was performed to predict changes in Gibbs' free energy that are associated with mutating residues at the positive control (PMI/MDM2) or SARS RBD/ACE2 binding interface to alanine. Additionally, we used the Adaptive Poisson-Boltzmann Solver to calculate macromolecular electrostatic surfaces at the interface of the positive-control PPI and SARS CoV-2/ACE2 PPI. Finally, a comparative analysis of hot-spot residues for SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2, in complex with ACE2, is provided. Collectively, this study illuminates predicted hot-spot residues, and clusters, at the SARS CoV-2 RBD/ACE2 binding interface, potentially guiding the development of reagents capable of disrupting this complex and halting COVID-19.

Abstract
Simple Summary Malignant meningiomas are rare primary intracranial tumors associated with considerable morbidity and mortality. The diagnosis is based on the number of mitotic figures (mitotic index, MI). Consequently, the quantification of mitotic figures is prone to inter- and intraobserver variability. The mitotic marker, phosphohistone-H3 (PHH3), has been shown to be a more robust mitotic marker. Despite the prognostic value of MI across all meningioma grades, little is known of the prognostic value of the MI within malignant meningioma. Therefore, this study investigates the MI in a series of malignant meningiomas to analyze the association to progression-free survival and mitotic and proliferative indices. Furthermore, we investigated the precision (repeatability) of mitotic counts and the agreement between MI and PHH3 MI. Abstract Meningiomas with inherently high mitotic indices and poor prognosis, such as WHO grade III meningiomas, have not been investigated separately to establish interchangeability between conventional mitotic index counted on H&E stained slides (MI) and mitotic index counted on phosphohistone-H3 stained slides (PHH3 MI). This study investigates the agreement of MI and PHH3 MI and to analyze the association of progression-free survival (PFS) and MI, PHH3 MI, and the proliferative index (PI, Ki-67) in WHO grade III meningioma. Tumor specimens from 24 consecutive patients were analyzed for expression of Ki-67, PHH3 MI, and MI. Quantification was performed independently by two observers who made replicate counts in hot spots and overall tumor staining. Repeatability in replicate counts from MI and PHH3 MI was low in both observers. Consequently, we could not report the agreement. MI, PHH3 MI and hot spot counts of Ki-67 were associated with PFS (MI hot spot HR = 1.61, 95% CI 1.12–2.31, p = 0.010; PHH3 MI hot spot HR = 1.59, 95% CI 1.15–2.21, p = 0.006; Ki-67 hot spot HR = 1.06, 95% CI 1.02–1.11. p = 0.004). We found markedly low repeatability of manually counted MI and PHH3 MI in WHO grade III meningioma, and we could not conclude that the two methods agreed. Subsequently, quantification with better repeatability should be sought. All three biomarkers were associated with PFS.

Abstract
The TiO2/Au nanostructure has been acknowledged as one of the most classic visible-light active photocatalysts due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of Au nanoparticles. In many cases, the SPR effect only features weak visible light absorption in conventional TiO2/Au nanostructures. Here, we demonstrate a design of TiO2/Au/TiO2 with a combination of whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonances and SPR for efficient visible-light-driven photocatalysis. Escherichia coli (E. coli) were used as natural reactants as well as a template to construct an E. coli-like TiO2/Au/TiO2 nanostructure. Using numerical simulations, we show that the E. coli-like TiO2 capsule acts as the WGM resonator to interplay with the SPR effect of the Au NPs on TiO2 surface, which leads to a significant increase of visible light absorption and the local field enhancement at the Au-TiO2 interface. Accordingly, with the synergistic effect of WGM and SPR, the E. coli-like TiO2/Au/TiO2 nanostructure exhibits enhanced photocatalytic activity in the visible range. Our work reveals a promising bioapproach to a design highly visible light active plasmonic photocatalyst.

Abstract
Simple Summary Human conflicts with wildlife (HWC) are gradually increasing in urban areas with changing patterns of land-use and fragmentation. We investigated the occurrence of human-wildlife conflicts in Krakow city, southern Poland, based on recorded conflict incidents with wild animals in three categories, i.e., animal-vehicle collisions, intrusion to property, and damages. The three most common conflict species were red fox, roe deer and wild boar. We analysed the spatial and temporal distribution of the HWC. The results of the study can be used to identify locations of potential HWC hot spots in the city and provide information for mitigation actions. Abstract Efforts to reduce human-wildlife-conflict are integral to wildlife management and conservation in urban habitats. In our study, we identified the HWC situations in urban areas of Krakow city, based on animal-vehicle collisions, intrusion to property, and damages. Hot spot analysis and Moran’s Index were used to identify the location of maximum potential conflict. We analysed 2512 incidents in which animals (of which 85% included mammals and 15% birds) were involved in conflict situations between 2007 and 2013. A significant seasonal variation was observed among the animals. We also identified roe deer (50.23%), red fox (22.80%) and wild boar (11.40%), as the three prominent conflicted animals. Getis–Ord Gi* analysis was used to identify spatial clusters of conflict. A significant spatial association was found in the location of clusters of hot spots in specific land-use based on Moran’s Index. Hot spots of roe deer and wild boar were high in grasslands and in forest and for red fox in built-up area. The results underscore the notion that conservation and wildlife management efforts must take into account differences in the seasonality of HWC among species. This information can be used to inform mitigation strategies.

Abstract
Microbubble generation and manipulation in aqueous environments are techniques that have attracted considerable attention for their microfluidic and biological applications. Ultrasonic and hydrodynamic methods are commonly used to form and manipulate microbubbles, but these methods are limited by the relatively low precision of the microbubble sizes and locations. Here, we report an all-optical method for generation and manipulation of microbubbles with ~100 nm precision by using “hot spots” on a porous gold nanofilm under the illumination of near-infrared focused laser beam. The microbubble diameter ranged from 700 nm to 100 μm, with a standard deviation of 100 nm. The microbubbles were patterned into two-dimensional arrays, with an average location deviation of 90 nm. By moving the laser beam, the microbubbles could be manipulated to a desired region. This work provides a controllable way to form and manipulate microbubbles with ~100 nm precision, which is expected to have applications in optofluidic and plasmonic devices.
