Abstract
BACKGROUND Meckel's diverticulum is a congenital remnant of the omphalomesenteric duct and is the most common congenital gastrointestinal malformation. Most patients are asymptomatic, but a rare presentation is with subacute small bowel obstruction (SBO) due to herniation of bowel loops through an internal hernia formed by the Meckel's diverticulum and adjacent mesentery that forms an internal hernia. This report is of a 15-year-old girl presenting as an emergency with vomiting and small bowel obstruction due to an internal hernia associated with Meckel's diverticulum. CASE REPORT We present a case of a 15-year-old girl who presented to the Children's Emergency (CE) department with persistent vomiting and abdominal distension and tenderness. X-rays demonstrated dilated small bowel loops, prompting admission under Pediatric Surgery (PAS). A subsequent computed tomography (CT) scan was performed, which demonstrated multiple dilated small bowel loops, confirming SBO, and a blind-ending "C-shaped" bowel loop at the region of the terminal ileum. A diagnostic laparotomy was performed, which confirmed the presence of a Meckel's diverticulum. The tip of the Meckel's diverticulum was adherent to part of the small bowel mesentery, forming an internal hernia defect through which a loop of proximal ileum had herniated, resulting in SBO. She then underwent a laparoscopy-assisted transumbilical Meckel's diverticulectomy (LATUM). The patient recovered uneventfully and was discharged on the 4th postoperative day. CONCLUSIONS In children presenting with SBO, the possibility of Meckel's diverticulum as an etiology should be considered as a differential diagnosis. Early diagnosis and prompt intervention will improve clinical outcomes and avoid complications.

Abstract
Extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma is a rare soft tissue tumour with a high local and distant metastasis rate and limited response to chemotherapy. Meckel's diverticulum is the most frequent congenital anomaly, and it is associated with a considerable risk of malignant transformation. In this case report, we describe a 50-year-old female patient with a history of extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma of the lower limb and metastasis to the forearm who went to the emergency department with abdominal pain. The investigations revealed a caecal volvulus. A lesion in the middle third of the ileum was incidentally discovered and removed during surgery. Pathology examination revealed a Meckel's diverticulum adenocarcinoma, with metastasis of extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma. Resection was complete; however, the patient had diffuse metastatic pulmonary disease and died eight months later due to disease progression. This mechanism of tumour-to-tumour metastasis is described in other locations, but, regarding the Meckel's diverticulum, this is a unique situation, previously unreported in the literature.

Abstract
Littre's hernia is an extremely rare type of hernia which has Meckel's diverticulum as its content. A 63-year-old male, presented to the emergency department with chief complaints of swelling and pain around the umbilicus. The patient was diagnosed with an incarcerated umbilical hernia. Following the emergency laparotomy, the intraoperative finding depicted an umbilical Littre's hernia. The patient underwent open Meckel's diverticulectomy with mesh repair. Preoperative diagnosis of Littre's hernia is unlikely due to its low incidence and lack of specific radiological and clinical findings, but the role of computed tomography scan and ultrasound are important in differentiating between strangulated or incarcerated bowel and omentum and in guiding the urgency of operative management. Keywords case reports; hernia; Meckel diverticulum.

Abstract
Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital abnormality of the small bowel, present in about 2% of the population. A man in his 20s underwent a laparoscopic appendicectomy for acute appendicitis and recovered uneventfully. He presented to the emergency department 1 month later with features of acute small bowel obstruction. Emergency diagnostic laparoscopy revealed a band adhesion between the apex of a Meckel's diverticulum to the appendicectomy stump. Internal herniation of ileum under this band adhesion resulted in small bowel obstruction and ischaemic necrosis of the Meckel's diverticulum. The band adhesion was divided, and the Meckel's diverticulum was resected at the base with a linear cutting stapler. This complication has not been reported previously. A Meckel's diverticulum is an important differential diagnosis of acute appendicitis and should routinely be searched for among other pathologies. It can rarely cause a postoperative complication of internal hernia.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aims of this study were to summarize the clinical presentation and histological results of 20 cases of complicated Meckel diverticulum (MD) who were presumed to have acute appendicitis before surgery, as well as to improve the diagnosis and treatment of complicated MD in children. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the records of 20 complicated MD admitted to our institution who were preoperatively diagnosed with acute appendicitis from January 2012 to January 2019. Patients were divided into the perforated MD group and the Meckel's diverticulitis group. Patient demographics, clinical manifestations, laboratory data, auxiliary examinations, surgical methods, and the result of heterotopic tissue were recorded. RESULTS A total of 20 cases of complicated MD (perforated or diverticulitis) were identified. Children were aged from 3 to 13 years, with a mean age of 7.75 years (median 7.75; range, 1-13 years). Perforated Meckel's diverticulum occurred in 5 of 20 (25%) cases. For perforated MD versus diverticulitis, no significant differences were found between age, time to intervention, length of hospital stay, and distance from the ileo-cecal valve. Heterotopic tissue was confirmed on histopathology in 75% of all patients, including 10 cases of gastric mucosa, 3 cases of coexistent gastric mucosa and pancreatic tissue, and 2 cases of pancreatic tissue. All patients underwent diverticulectomy or partial ileal resection under laparoscopy or laparotomy; two cases combined with appendectomy owing to slight inflammation of the appendix. CONCLUSIONS The most common presentation of symptomatic MD is painless rectal bleeding; however, it can present symptoms of acute abdomen mimicking acute appendicitis. The key point of diverticulectomy is to remove the ectopic mucosa completely.

Abstract
Ileal diverticula can be congenital or acquired and are rare even among the already rare entity of small bowel diverticula. What has never been reported, as far as we know, is false diverticula arising within the true non-Meckelian diverticulum with mesenteric erosion causing an occult gastrointestinal bleed. We present a patient with occult gastrointestinal bleeding from a false-in-true ileal diverticulum. Multiple investigations were required to localise the bleeding site after which the patient was taken to the operating room for a laparoscopic ileocaecectomy with complete resolution of symptoms. Preoperative localisation of the bleeding site may be difficult but is critically important in occult gastrointestinal bleeding. Procedure choice for a bleeding ileal diverticulum is dictated by the distance from the ileocaecal valve and the etiopathology of the bleed.

Abstract
Imaging of gastrointestinal bleeding crucial in the diagnosis of occult gastrointestinal bleeding. Gastrointestinal bleeding scintigraphy is a well-established study to aid localisation of gastrointestinal bleeding site. This article discusses about the use of gastrointestinal bleeding scintigraphy in its current practice with emphasis on radiopharmaceutical, imaging techniques, interpretation and pitfalls. There is also discussion on the use of Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography-Computed Tomography (SPECT-CT) within this method of scintigraphy. Meckel's diverticulum is known to be a frequent source of bleeding, mainly in children. It is also know that nuclear medicine imaging can help with Meckel's diverticulum identification. This article also discusses about the technique, imaging, interpretation and SPECT-CT usage for Meckel's diverticulum imaging.

Abstract
AIM Adenomyoma is an exceptionally rare hamartoma in the small intestine. Few data have been reported on the features of this rare disease. The aim of this study was to describe the ultrasound (US) characteristics of small intestinal adenomyomas. Material and methods: This retrospective study analyzed the clinical features and US data of 15 pediatric patients diagnosed as small intestinal adenomyomas in the age range between 1 day to 12 years in our hospital during 2014-2021. RESULTS The clinical manifestations of all the small intestinal adenomyomas were abdominal pain, vomiting or/and hemafecia. The small intestinal adenomyoma usually acted as the lead point of secondary intussusception. They were identified in the ileum (n=11), jejunum (n=2), and Meckel's diverticulum (n=2). The diagnostic accuracy (the concordance rate between US diagnosis and pathological diagnosis) of small intestinal adenomyoma was 73.3%. The small intestinal adenomyoma had approximately 1.0-3.0 cm, were typically located in the submucosal region, had the basal part wide and without a pedicle, and its boundaries were clear. The mass protruded into the intestinal cavity, and showed oval hypoechoic polycystic echo nodules, containing multiple small quasi-circular or irregular cysts of different sizes surrounded by solid hypoechoic mosaic areas. The color Doppler US showed in the solid hypoechoic areas of the mass abundant or sparse blood flow signals. Conclusions The US findings of small intestinal adenomyomas in children are characteristic, and US is valuable in the identification of intestinal adenomyomas in children.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Meckel diverticulum (MD) is a common malformation of the digestive tract, often accompanied by serious complications. It is important to find safe and effective diagnostic methods for screening MD. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a technetium-99m (Tc-99m) scan for pediatric bleeding MD. METHODS The authors conducted a systematic review of studies published in PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science before 1 January 2023. Studies based on PICOS were included in this systematic review. The flow chart was made by PRISMA software. The quality of included studies was assessed by RevMan5 software (QUADAS-2: Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2). The sensitivity, specificity, and other measurements of accuracy were pooled using Stata/SE 12.0 software. RESULTS Sixteen studies with 1115 children were included in this systematic review. A randomized-effects model was used for the meta-analysis because of significant heterogeneity. The combined sensitivity and specificity were 0.80 [Confidence Interval (95% CI, 0.73-0.86) and 0.95 (95% CI, 0.86-0.98)], respectively. The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.88 (95% CI, 0.85-0.90). Publication bias (Begg's test p = 0.053) was observed. CONCLUSION Tc-99m scan has high specificity, but moderate sensitivity, which is always influenced by some factors. Hence, the Tc-99m scan has some limitations in the diagnosis of pediatric bleeding MD.

Abstract
The vitello-intestinal duct normally regresses with the development. But, in certain cases, it could persist and present as Meckel's diverticulum. Here we report a case of an eight-year-old boy presenting with peri-umbilical abdominal pain, vomiting and loose stool. He was initially diagnosed and managed as acute appendicitis but did not improve, rather developed features of intestinal obstruction. Exploratory laparotomy was done which revealed persistent vitello-intestinal duct and was managed surgically. This case report highlights that in any case of suspected acute appendicitis, the complications of persistent vitello-intestinal duct should be considered as one of the differentials. Keywords appendicitis; case reports; intestinal obstruction; laparotomy; omphalomesenteric duct.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore clinical characteristics, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of intestinal obstruction due to mesodiverticular band (MDB) in children in a single center in China. METHODS The clinical data of 20 children with acute intestinal obstruction due to MDB between 1998 and 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS The male-to-female ratio was 14:6 in 20 cases. Except one case of 7-month pregnant stillbirth, the cases were aged from 7 days to 14 years, at the median age of 4.31 years. The common symptoms were vomiting, abdominal pain and/or abdominal distension. About 40% (8/20) of patients had both MDB and Meckel's Diverticulum (MD), while 60% (12/20) of patients had MDB only. Only one case died because of total colonic aganglionosis, while other children recovered after surgery treatment. MDB led to the strangulation of necrotic bowel in six cases, intestinal perforation in one case, and intestinal rupture in one case. Pathologic examination showed thick-walled arteries and or thick venous vascular structures in the cord. All cases had no complications during 1-year follow-up. CONCLUSION MDB results from the remnant of vitelline vessel, and often causes acute intestinal obstruction without special clinical symptoms. Unexplained abdominal pain and distension without surgery history should be paid attention, especially for strangulated intestinal obstruction. Timely surgical exploration is beneficial to avoid intestinal necrosis or even sudden death, and the pathological examination is important for the diagnosis.

Abstract
Meckel's diverticulum (MD) is the most common congenital anomaly of the gastrointestinal tract and may cause serious complications such as intestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, or inflammation with/without perforation, which can present with non-spe-cific symptoms and signs. We report on the case of a 2.5-year-old boy admitted to our emergency department in poor condition, with compatible signs of decompensated hypovolemic shock. This case finally resulted in intestinal volvulus and internal hernia, a very rare combination of two complications of MD, as determined in the operating room.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Diagnosing pancreatic heterotopia (PH) is challenging, because it is a rare congenital anomaly. We report the case of a 66-year-old man who presented with ileus and jejunal PH diagnosed using single-balloon enteroscopy. Reviewing 178 cases of small intestinal PH in the literature showed that (1) PH mostly occurred at the duodenum (61.8%), followed by the jejunum (22.5%) and ileum (14.6%); (2) patients with ileal PH were younger (mean, 40.7 vs 54.6 years; P < 0.001), while those with jejunal PH were older (mean, 59.5 vs 51.7 years; P = 0.006); (3) most patients with jejunal PH were females, while those with duodenal or ileal PH were predominantly males (M:F = 0.8:1 vs 2.5:1; P = 0.003); (4) asymptomatic cases were rare (15.2% vs 83.4% in small and nonsmall bowel, respectively); (5) most patients with ileal PH presented with bleeding (61.5%), while the remaining had abdominal pain (42.8%); (6) emergent operation was performed in 11 cases (6.2%), mainly at the jejunum (12.5%) and Meckel's diverticulum (25%); and (7) Heinrich's classification may be inconclusive. Enteroscopy was performed in only 6 cases (3.4%), and earlier diagnosis and further minimally invasive procedures could have been achieved with enteroscopy.

Abstract
The Meckel's diverticulum is usually asymptomatic but in sometimes it presents severe complications, such as bleeding or perforation. The presence of enterolith inside a Meckel diverticulum is rare. In this report, we present a case of a 56- years- old man, with an abdominal pain and small bowel obstruction for a enterolith. Preoperative radiologic studies in Emergency Room (ER) didn't reveal this stone, but realeved a small bowel obstruction. Initially, we tried a conservative management, however after about 48 hours, due to worsening symptoms, the patient undergoes an exploratory laparotomy and a intestinal resection. Key words: Enteriith, Meckel's diverticulum, Small bowel obstruction.

Abstract
The vitelline circulation connects the fetus and yolk sac in the first few weeks of fetal development. Its components are the vitelline duct, vitelline arteries and vitelline vein. This gradually breaks down as the placenta grows and overtakes the function of yolk sac as the primary nutrition source. In the event of persistence of these structures, multiple anatomical anomalies can arise such as a Meckel´s diverticulum, fibrous bands and others. We report on a rare finding of an ileal-mesenteric fibrous band remnant of a vitelline artery causing small bowel obstruction in an adult female. Our patient, a 40-year-old female presented with both clinical and radiological signs of small bowel obstruction. She had had no previous abdominal surgery or abdominal trauma. Intraoperatively we found an isolated ileal-mesenteric fibrous band situated at approximately 7 cm from the ileocecal junction. It spanned from the antimesenteric border of the terminal ileum to the border of the mesentery at a 15 cm breadth. In the snare-like loop that was created, part of the small bowel was trapped, creating a strangulated internal hernia which presented as a small bowel obstruction. The fibrous band was transected and the viable small bowel was freed during a laparotomy procedure. The post-operative period was uneventful and the patient was discharged on day 5. A fibrous band should be considered one of the rare causes of small bowel obstruction in a virgin abdomen in adults.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Intestinal obstruction as a result of congenital peritoneal bands is rare in surgical practice. It typically compromises the small bowel, and it also has been reported to involve the appendix or a Meckel's diverticulum. However, peritonealized urachal remnant as part of a congenital band is highly infrequent. CASE REPORT 5-year-old boy presenting with intestinal obstruction related to a peritoneal band from the mesentery to the appendix and a peritonealized urachal remnant, associated with an incidental finding of a Meckel's diverticulum. Diagnosis was achieved laparoscopically. The peritoneal band, the urachal remnant, and the Meckel's diverticulum were resected. DISCUSSION Kerkeni's congenital band classification consists of 4 independent groups. This case combines both a band stemming from an embryological remnant and an idiopathic band.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Children with abdominal pain are frequently seen in emergency departments. Physicians and parents worry about appendicitis; physicians are also concerned about intussusception and bowel obstruction in patients with previous surgical procedures. Sometimes the patient is ill, and the diagnosis is elusive. In a 6-month period at our pediatric emergency department with an annual census of 57,400 patients, we cared for 4 patients who presented with abdominal pain due to complications of Meckel's diverticulum. None presented with painless rectal bleeding, the complication of which physicians are most aware. We are reporting these patients to raise awareness of Meckel's diverticulum as a cause of acute abdomen in children. Meckel's diverticulum may masquerade as appendicitis, an abdominal mass, intussusception, or a complication of severe constipation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Meckel’s diverticulum is a common asymptomatic congenital gastrointestinal anomaly. However, its presentation as an inverted Meckel's diverticulum is a rare complication, of which few cases have been reported in the literature.
CASE SUMMARY Here, we report the case of a 33-year-old man with iron deficiency anemia without manifestation of gastrointestinal bleeding. An upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and total colonoscopy were performed, but no abnormalities were found within the observed area. Finally, a capsule endoscopy was performed and offered us a clue to subsequently confirm the diagnosis of inverted Meckel's diverticulum via computed tomography scan. Laparoscopic intestinal resection surgery was performed. The final pathology report described a Meckel’s diverticulum.
CONCLUSION Since inverted Meckel's diverticulum is an uncommon disease and its clinical presentation is not specific, it may go undetected by capsule endoscopy. Successful diagnosis and treatment of this disease requires a high index of clinical suspicion.

Abstract
Meckel's Diverticulum is the most frequent congenital anomaly of the digestive system in the population, with a prevalence of 2% on results of a postmortem. Clinically, it can remain silent through all life, or it gets complicated in an acute abdomen sight. In emergency, we can find Meckel's Diverticulum much more in childhood than in adult subjects, with a ratio of 2:1, and, therefore, it joins differential diagnosis with other pathologies being able to cause acute abdomen sight. In adult subjects that doesn't happen: usually, we can achieve the diagnosis sureness only during an exploratory laparotomy. The Authors report the clinic case of a Meckel's Diverticulum found in a 78 years old patient during an exploratory laparotomy like accidental discovery. Abstract
Meckel´s diverticulum is the most common congenital anomaly affecting the gastrointestinal tract resulting from failure of involution of the omphalomesenteric duct. This anomaly is most often asymptomatic and may be revealed by a complication, such as intussusception. This study reports the diagnostic pathway and the management of an 18-year-old female patient admitted to the Emergency Department with ileoileal invagination due to Meckel´s diverticulum complicated by occlusion. This study is interesting because it provides an overview of this rare disease whose diagnosis, based on abdominal scanner, must be made early in order to prevent small bowel perforation or necrosis. Bowel resection without desinvagination is the gold standard treatment.

Abstract
The diagnostic and treatment values and safety of preoperative double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) for Meckel's diverticula (MD) bleeding in children by retrospective review and analyses. The clinical data were collected and analyzed from 10 cases of children with MD receiving preoperative DBE examination and postoperative pathological confirmation. The diagnostic and treatment values and safety were assessed through the comparison of the DBE results and intra-operative observations and subsequently postoperative pathological results.Total cases are 10, 7 males and 3 females. The male to female ratio is 2.3 to 1. The youngest patient is 3.3 years old and oldest 12.1, the average age is 7.4 ± 3.0. The lowest body weight is 12.6 kg and the average is 32.5 ± 18.9 kg. The hematochezia was the main clinical manifestation in all patients with anemia and moderate to severe anemia were common (9/10, 90%). All patients had and tolerated the DBE procedures via anal route with 100% success rate. There were no observable complications during the examinations and post operations. All patients were diagnosed with MD by DBE. Exploratory laparoscopy and surgical operations were subsequently performed. All surgical samples were confirmed by pathology as bleeding MD. The postoperative follow-ups up to April 2019 (from 3 to 12 months) do not show any bleeding sign. Pathological examinations found ectopic gastric mucosa in 9 patients (90%) and one case had both ectopic gastric mucosa pancreatic tissue (10%). The distance of MD to ileocecal valve was from 60 to 100 cm (average 81.0 ± 16.0 cm) by DBE examinations. Surgery showed similar findings from 30 to 100 cm (average 71.0 ± 18.5) consistently to DBE. There is no statistical significance between 2 methods (Ζ = 1.715, Ρ = .086).DBE examination proves to be a safe method for diagnosing children's MD disease and can reliably determine the bleeding lesions in children's MD, providing valuable guidance for surgical treatment of children's MD bleeding.

Abstract
A 13-year-old boy was admitted to our hospital because of bloody stools. Although a Meckel's diverticulum (MD) was suspected, capsule endoscopy (CE) revealed no remarkable findings. Seven months later, he was admitted again because of rebleeding. CE was performed again and revealed an elevated lesion and fresh blood in the ileum. A single balloon endoscopic examination revealed a diverticulum with an elevated lesion in it. Histologic findings showed ectopic gastric mucosa, thus we diagnosed this patient as having MD. Although CE is useful for the examination of obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, a single CE is not enough to diagnose MD bleeding. The timing in performing CE and the evaluation of other modalities would be valuable for patients suspected of having MD.

Abstract
In this paper, we report autopsy findings of a 1-day old full-term mature female neonate with pulmonary hypoplasia diagnosed postnatally. Death was attributed to acute respiratory failure due to hyaline membrane disease. We describe pathological features of calcified Meckels diverticulum with osseous metaplasia and inflammatory changes in adjacent peritoneum. As far as we know, this case report documents the youngest patient ever diagnosed with calcified Meckels diverticulum with osseous metaplasia.

Abstract
Meckel's diverticulum (MD) is the most common congenital malformation of the gastrointestinal tract. It rarely presents in adults and is usually asymptomatic. Attention to clinical history, examination and imaging studies are crucial for a successful diagnosis. A 17-year-old female presented with vomiting and acute peri-umbilical abdominal pain. Ultrasound examination showed an intussusception measuring 3.2cm in diameter and over 8cm in length. Exploratory laparoscopy showed two ileal intussusceptions. The first was reduced via laparoscopy; the second appeared suspicious for MD and ultimately required a mini-laparotomy for reduction and resection of the MD. Ultrasonography is a useful modality in the presence of perforation, occlusion, hemorrhage, neoplasia, or fistula and avoids exposure to radiation. Laparoscopic or laparoscopic-assisted mini-laparotomy is the route for the resection of MD. The choice depends on the clinical presentation and surgeon expertise. A careful history and physical examination are vital factors in diagnosis and treatment MD.

Abstract
Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital anomaly of the GIT with a low incidence of 2% and the complication rate is even lower with perforation being the rarest. We report an intriguing case of a 15-year-old male, who presented with one-week history of high-grade fever and diarrhoea followed by acute onset of abdominal pain in the periumbilical region which became generalized. On physical examination his abdomen was distended with guarding and rigidity. A provisional diagnosis of peritonitis secondary to enteric perforation was made and exploratory laparotomy was done which revealed a perforated Meckel's diverticulum and advanced peritonitis. A diverticulectomy with double barrel ileostomy were performed. No heterotopic tissue in the diverticulum was noted on histopathology, nor any other abnormal tissue identified. The patient made an uneventful recovery postoperatively and ileostomy reconstruction was done two months later. This case report is rare case of Meckel's diverticulum complications and highlights the importance of considering Meckel's diverticulum as a differential diagnosis in every patient presenting with acute abdomen, which can aid toward better management through laparoscopy.

Abstract
We describe an uncommon case of a Meckel's diverticulum perforation by a chicken bone in a patient with symptoms of acute appendicitis. Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital abnormality of the gastrointestinal tract. The incidence is approximately 2% of the population. Most patients are asymptomatic, only 4-16% presenting complications, including bleeding, obstruction, and diverticulitis. The perforation due to a foreign body is a very infrequent complication and may have a bad prognosis in case of a delayed diagnosis. Only in a few cases, a careful evaluation of the CT scan leads to correct preoperative diagnosis. Definitive treatment is surgical intervention and should not be delayed in patients with peritonitis. Laparoscopy is a safe diagnostic and therapeutic tool to treat complicated Meckel's diverticulum. In our case, a stapled laparoscopic diverticulectomy has been performed with an excellent outcome. Abstract
Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital malformation of the gastrointestinal tract. Its caused by a improper closure of the omphalomesenteric duct. Many cases are asymptomatic, and the most common clinical presentation is a gastrointestinal bleeding by the presence of ectopic gastric mucosa especially during childhood. This clinical presentation is uncommon in adults.

Abstract
Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are the most common malignancy arising in Meckel's diverticula (MDs). To date, there are no large series characterizing these tumors. The National Cancer Database was queried for patients with MD NETs (n = 162) from 2004 to 2014. Patient and tumor characteristics as well as outcomes were analyzed. MD NETs were more common in men (72.8%) at a median age of 62 years; 95.1 per cent of patients were white. All patients underwent surgery. Clinical M0 disease was present in 97.4 per cent of patients, and 88.2 per cent of tumors were well differentiated. Lymphovascular invasion was present in 13.2 per cent. Most (60.4%) tumors were less than 10 mm. Lymphadenectomy was performed in 32.9 per cent of patients, with 52.1 per cent of these found to have metastatic lymph node disease. Although most MD NETs are well differentiated, smaller than 10 mm, and do not have lymphovascular invasion, lymph node metastases are commonly found, suggesting that mesenteric lymphadenectomy with adequate resection of the small bowel may be necessary for adequate staging and disease clearance.

Abstract
Meckel diverticulum is the most prevalent congenital malformation of gastrointestinal tract and usually it remains asymptomaRomatic. Approximately in 25% of cases Meckel diverticulum comes to be symptomatic with various clinical presentations where lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage or intestinal obstruction represent the most frequent clinical outcome. In present paper two cases of complicated Meckel diverticulum in young patients are described; in both cases diagnosis was difficult and initially mistaken with other pathologies. Surgical resection was the treatment of choice.

Abstract
AIM We present a novel approach to a Littré hernia case. CASE REPORT A 62-year old male presented at our department with a painless mass in the inguinal area and was successfully treated for an inguinal Littré hernia. A Lichtenstein tension-free mesh repair was used without performing simultaneous diverticulectomy. DISCUSSION Resection of an asymptomatic Meckel's diverticulum remains a controversial issue. In adult population, leaving an accidentally found silent Meckel's diverticula in situ could reduce the risk of postoperative complications without increasing late complications. Mesh-based techniques provide lower recurrence rates compared to non-mesh techniques. CONCLUSIONS Management of asymptomatic Littré hernias presents a challenge for the operating surgeon. Treatment guidelines should be developed for the optimal management of these patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE A hernia containing Meckel's diverticulum is called a Littre's Hernia. It's a rare entity and its diagnosis is often incidental during routine hernia repair surgery. The objective of this study is the evaluation of the current evidence on Littre's hernias regarding their clinical presentation and optimal treatment approach. METHODS PubMed and Cochrane bibliographical databases were searched from the beginning of time (last search: August 1st, 2018) for studies reporting on Littre's hernias in adult population. RESULTS Forty-five studies met our inclusion criteria and reported collectively on 53 patients (21 males and 32 females) presenting at health care units with a Littre's hernia. The most common sites of occurrence were femoral (39.6%) and inguinal (34%). The vast majority of cases (77.4%) concerned incarcerated hernias. All patients underwent surgical hernia repair accompanied by a diverticulectomy and 16.9% of them received mesh. Only 7.5% of patients experienced immediate postoperative complications. CONCLUSIONS A Littre hernia is a rare complication of Meckel's diverticulum. It requires surgical attention and all medical professionals should be encouraged to report such cases to expand our experience and optimize the therapeutic approach.

Abstract
Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital gastrointestinal malformation and may present with bleeding, obstruction and diverticulitis. Symptomatic Meckel's diverticulum is associated with age <50 years, male gender, diverticular length > 2 cm and ectopic mucosa. Formation of enteroliths is a rare complication of Meckel's diverticulum and the majority of stones will remain in the diverticulum. Factors promoting enterolith formation through precipitation of calcium in the small intestinal alkaline environment include stasis as well as diverticular anatomy and histology. Mechanical obstruction due to liberation of enteroliths is even more rare and other mechanisms include intussusception, adhesions, volvulus and neoplasms. Visualization of enteroliths on plain abdominal films is challenging because not all stones are radiopaque. Surgical diverticulectomy or segmental bowel resection with anastomosis is preferred in case of complications. We present a case of mechanical small bowel sub-obstruction resulting from an expelled Meckel's enterolith.
