Duchenne's muscular dystrophy involves a defective transsulfuration pathway activity. Redox Biol 2021; 45:102040. Abstract
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is the most frequent X chromosome-linked disease caused by mutations in the gene encoding for dystrophin, leading to progressive and unstoppable degeneration of skeletal muscle tissues. Despite recent advances in the understanding of the molecular processes involved in the pathogenesis of DMD, there is still no cure. In this study, we aim at investigating the potential involvement of the transsulfuration pathway (TSP), and its by-end product namely hydrogen sulfide (H2S), in primary human myoblasts isolated from DMD donors and skeletal muscles of dystrophic (mdx) mice. In myoblasts of DMD donors, we demonstrate that the expression of key genes regulating the H2S production and TSP activity, including cystathionine γ lyase (CSE), cystathionine beta-synthase (CBS), 3 mercaptopyruvate sulfurtransferase (3-MST), cysteine dioxygenase (CDO), cysteine sulfonic acid decarboxylase (CSAD), glutathione synthase (GS) and γ -glutamylcysteine synthetase (γ-GCS) is reduced. Starting from these findings, using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) we show that the levels of TSP-related metabolites such as methionine, glycine, glutathione, glutamate and taurine, as well as the expression levels of the aforementioned TSP related genes, are significantly reduced in skeletal muscles of mdx mice compared to healthy controls, at both an early (7 weeks) and overt (17 weeks) stage of the disease. Importantly, the treatment with sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS), a commonly used H2S donor, fully recovers the impaired locomotor activity in both 7 and 17 old mdx mice. This is an effect attributable to the reduced expression of pro-inflammatory markers and restoration of autophagy in skeletal muscle tissues. In conclusion, our study uncovers a defective TSP pathway activity in DMD and highlights the role of H2S-donors for novel and safe adjuvant therapy to treat symptoms of DMD.

Intracystic Papillary Carcinoma of the Male Breast. A Case Report: (Histochemical, immunohistochemical and ultrastructural study). TUMORI JOURNAL 2018; 78:37-42. Abstract
We report a case of intracystic papillary carcinoma of the male breast in a 70-year-old male Caucasian. Grossly, the tumor was a cystic lesion measuring 6 cm in diameter. It contained hemorrhagic fluid and a mural nodule with filiform projections. PAS stain with and without digestion revealed small clumps of diastase-resistent material in the cytoplasm of the neoplastic cells. Grimelius stain was positive. Immunoperoxidase stains were negative for neuron-specific enolase, S100 protein, cromogranin and synaptophysin and were positive for carcinoembryonic antigen and epithelial membrane antigen. On ultrastructural examination the neoplastic cells showed membrane-bound, dense-core secretory granules. We believe that this neoplasm, despite negative neuroendocrine markers, is a variant of mammary adenocarcinoma with endocrine differentiation, partly because of the positive Grimelius stain and partly because of the presence of electron-dense granules, which according to some authors represent lactational differentiation.

Abstract
Primary adenosquamous carcinoma of the colon is a rare entity. Its prevalent site of origin is at the level of the proximal portion of the large bowel. The tumor presents in young patients and follows a highly aggressive course. We present an extremely unusual case of adenosquamous carcinoma in which the classical mucinous and signet-ring cell adenocarcinoma was associated with the squamous component. The prognosis of this rare neoplasm is very poor.

Abstract
Two cases of smooth muscle tumor of the breast with high tendency to local relapses are reported. The common cytohistologic feature of these infrequent neoplasms is interfacing bundles with spindle-shaped cells showing eosinophilic cytoplasm and blunt-ended nuclei. In estimating the prognosis of these lesions, the mitotic index must be evaluated together with evidence of necrosis and hypercellularity. The present cases suggest that, in the absence of the ancillary features, a mitotic rate of 1-3 × 10 HPF might define a “grey zone” in the spectrum of lesions between leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas: the smooth muscle tumors of indeterminate prognosis (low risk lesions).

Abstract
The Authors present a case of Splenic Hamartoma. This is a rare unique complex vascular lesion of the spleen. This is also a recently reinterpreted lesion with some persistent confusion regarding its definition, histogenesis and classification. The patient is a young woman who following a check up with a raised erythrocyte sedimentation rate underwent abdominal sonography demonstrating an incidental slightly hypoechoic nodular splenic lesion. The pathologic study of the splenectomy specimen showed a large (10 cm) sharply demarcated mass. Histologically the lesion presented a remarkably angiomatoid lobular-nodular configuration with abundant fibrosclerotic stroma with areas of calcification. The immunohistochemical study revealed within the angiomatoid tissue different types of blood vessels: a) capillaries CD31+, CD34+, CD8-; b) structures consistent with splenic venous sinuses CD31+, CD34+/- , CD8-/+; c) small veins CD31+, CD34+, CD8-. The Authors judge this complex picture as indicative of a Splenic Hamartoma with a peculiar lobular-nodular pattern that seems to coincide with the recently described SANT: Sclerosing Angiomatoid Nodular Transformation of the spleen. In this report the Authors discuss the pathology of the lesion and the problems concerning its vasular profile. It is also emphasized the Hamartoma's great variety of morphologic patterns derived from the preponderant growth of one or another of several histologic components. This is the cause of the presence in literature of some different pathologic entities which today are fairly recognized as part of a large pathologic spectrum of the same lesion. The Authors discuss the differential diagnosis of Splenic Hamartoma with other lesions as haemangiomas and inflammatory pseudotumor.

Abstract
Solid pseudopapillary pancreatic tumour is an uncommon disease including 2.7% of exocrine malignancies of the pancreas. Its low incidence is associated with an uncertain prognosis and with difficult diagnostic and therapeutic problems, despite routine use of ultrasonography, TC and RMN. A case of solid pseudopapillary pancreatic tumour in a young woman is reported: the clinicopathologic features, diagnostic imaging and surgical treatment are discussed. Surgery is the primary option. Prognosis is however not fully known. From a review of the literature it is suggested that these tumours should be regarded as potentially malignant.

Abstract
Juvenile Polyposis is a syndrome with gastrointestinal polyps and increased cancer risk. The commonest form of this syndrome is inherited as autosomal dominant trait and presents as Familial Juvenile Polyposis Coli. Another variant involves mainly the stomach and another is generalized throughout the gastrointestinal tract. We present the case of two brothers with polyposis coli complicated by colonic cancer. The polyps were of juvenile, adenomatous and mixed types. The two patients after a decade of colonic endoscopic polypectomies presented gastric involvement by polyps and needed multiple endoscopic gastric resections. One brother underwent total gastrectomy. This stomach showed diffuse polyposis of hyperplastic and fundic gland types within an unexpected background of foveolar and glandular hypertrophic gastropathy. The patients at present are followed up with endoscopic procedures.

Abstract
A case of fibroadenoma occurring in the vulva of a 24 year old woman is presented. This rare benign tumor appears as dermal or subcutaneous well circumscribed nodule. Histologically the fibroadenoma is characterized by epithelial and stromal proliferation. Two different concepts concerning histogenesis are cited; the authors believe that this tumor arises in ectopic mammary tissue.

Abstract
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is currently the most common cutaneous cancer found in humans. Although it generally shows a relatively benign course (BCC1), some cases of BCCs show "aggressive" behavior, rapidly infiltrating deeper structures, or metastasizing (BCC2). Until now, the traditional histological diagnostic criteria have failed to discriminate unequivocally between BCC1 and BCC2. Therefore, there is still a need to find reliable prognostic indicators that correlate with outcome and may detect patients at high risk for BCC recurrence, or metastasis and death. Recent studies have suggested that there is a significant correlation between tumor angiogenesis, expressed as the microvessel density within and toward a tumor, tumor aggressiveness, and the overall survival of patients with solid tumors. In this study, the authors examined the angiogenic rate in human cutaneous BCCs, to establish if it correlates with their biological behavior. Vessels were highlighted by immunocytochemical staining for FVIII-related antigen in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. All BCC2 samples of this series showed a significantly higher microvessel count than did BCC1. The existence of a significant discrepancy between the neovascularization in BCC1 and BCC2 suggests that the angiogenetic process may be an important step in the acquisition of the aggressive (malignant) phenotype in human. BCCs. The findings of the present study seem to establish a correlation between tumor vascularization and clinicobiological parameters of aggressiveness in BCC. Considering the emerging studies on the possible clinical use of substances interfering with the angiogenetic process, it is possible that the local therapy for BCCs could become less destructive, with consequent improvement in the quality of life of these patients, apart from the prolongation of the overall survival. From this view-point, the assay of microvessel density might be helpful in selecting patients with cutaneous BCCs at high risk for recurrence or metastasis, who could benefit ab initio from additional therapies and closer follow-up.

Peripheral ameloblastoma is a very rare tumour with histological characteristics similar to those of the centrally located ameloblastoma. It appears in the gum and in the alveolar process of the jaws. We report a case of tumour of the left maxillary region, near the canine area. Histologically it presented itself with follicles and nests of cells with a trabecular architectural pattern. High mitotic index and clear images of perineural infiltration were present. The diagnosis was peripheral ameloblastoma with malignant aspects. At 12-month follow-up no local recurrence was noted.

Abstract
Mesenchimal tumors of the scrotum are rare lesions. Here, we describe a case of symplastic leiomyoma of the scrotum, in a 49-year old man. This is the third case reported in the world literature. Grossly, the lesion is a white-gray nodule, with fasciculated pattern, on sectioning. Histologically, the neoplasm is formed by whorling bundles of fusiform cells, which have atypical nuclei, with occasional cytoplasmatic inclusions. Mitoses are absent. The muscolar nature of the lesion is demonstrated by positivity for Masson-trichrome stain and for actin and desmine antigens.

Abstract
Primary malignant melanoma of the ovary is an exceedingly rare pathologic event: only eight cases have been reported in literature and in every case they arised in a cystic mature teratoma. The differential diagnosis of primary malignant melanoma is a challenge for pathologist: in fact it must be differentiated by metastatic melanoma and by numerous primary ovarian tumours. We report a rare case of primary malignant melanoma of the ovary with immunohistochemical and ultrastructural study and with a review of the literature.

Abstract
The authors report a case of a primary mucinous carcinoma of the skin. This is a rare adnexial tumor arising from the eccrine secretory coils. The histologic characteristic finding of this lesion is the heap of abundant mucinous material (sialomucin) in the dermis in which rare epithelial islands are free-floating. In this study we also value the importance of a correct diagnosis for an appropriate therapy.

Prognostic evaluation of HPV-associated precancerous and microinvasive carcinoma of the oral cavity: combined use of nucleolar organiser regions (AgNOR) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA). Abstract
Nucleolar Organiser Regions (NORs) and Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen (PCNA) were investigated on routine paraffin embedded histologic sections of 30 oral biopsy specimens (six cases of leukoplakia with low-degree of dysplasia, nine cases of leukoplakia with moderate-degree of dysplasia, nine cases of leukoplakia with severe-degree of dysplasia, six cases of squamous microinvasive carcinomas), tested for HPV-DNA by in situ hybridisation (ISH). The absolute number of NORs per nucleus and the percentage of nuclear positivity for PCNA were found to be different in each group of pathology, with further diversity due to the presence or absence of HPV-DNA. In the major part of HPV-positive lesions, the AgNOR number and percentage of cells positive for PCNA were found to be generally lower than in corresponding negative forms. Conversely, a few cases of HPV+ lesions showed significantly higher values both of AgNOR and PCNA, if compared to the other cases of HPV+ and HPV- lesions. These data suggested that high values of AgNOR and PCNA, in moderate and high grade oral dysplasia, could represent an "alarm signal" of a worse prognosis, and then a possible indication for a strict clinical management and/or a stronger treatment of some HPV-associated preneoplastic lesions.

Abstract
The stromal myofibroblastic reaction and extracellular matrix in a series of 19 morphologically and clinically aggressive basal cell carcinomas (BCC) were examined by an immunohistochemical staining panel for myofibroblastic markers (vimentin, actin, and desmin), for basement membrane components (laminin and type IV collagen), and for fibronectin. Results were compared with a series of 19 nonaggressive BCC. The aggressive BCC showed discontinuous staining for laminin and type IV collagen, a marked myofibroblastic response, and increased stromal fibronectin. Conversely, the nonaggressive BCC showed a continuous basement membrane and a total lack of staining for fibronectin and myofibroblastic markers in all but three cases. This report suggests that a combined analysis of extracellular matrix components and myofibroblastic markers may be useful for evaluating the clinical behavior including the metastatic capability of aggressive BCC.

Abstract
UNLABELLED We report the successful diagnosis of thyroid involvement by histiocytosis X due to accurate evaluation of nuclear medicine results. METHODS A total thyroidectomy specimen from our patient was initially suggestive of medullary thyroid carcinoma. However, histologic reevaluation was performed on the basis of nuclear medicine findings which were incompatible with the original histologic diagnosis. RESULTS Immunohistochemical and light microscopy studies were performed to obtain the correct diagnosis. Diffuse thyroid involvement by histiocytosis X was demonstrated. CONCLUSION Thyroid scintigraphy was helpful in successfully diagnosing thyroid involvement by histiocytosis X. Because tracer uptake is related to increased cellularity and metabolism, none of these tracers reported here is specific for defining histiocytosis X.

Abstract
The role played by the tunica albuginea in the erection mechanism seems to be very significant in promoting the constriction of sub-albugineal venous reticulum and trans-albugineal effluent veins, as well as providing an inextensible protective structure to the arteriolae and to the intracavernous nerves. The passive function exerted by the tunica albuginea is a result of its structure, which is rich in collagenic fibers, linked by elastic fiber bridges. The presence of structural disorders in the tunica albuginea of 16 patients suffering from psychogenic, arteriogenic and venogenic impotence is evaluated. The results obtained show a significant decrease in elastic fibers in the tunica albuginea of impotent patients compared to a control group of 5 patients with normal erection activity. This structural disorder could result in tunica albuginea alteration and, therefore, in erection insufficiency.

We report on a primary cutaneous rhabdoid tumour in a 14-month-old child, to the best of our knowledge, the second case in the literature. The tumour showed a multipolypoid gross appearance and classical histological features. The neoplastic cells were positive for keratin and vimentin and most were positive for proliferating cell nuclear antigen. The ultrastructural examination revealed typical intracytoplasmic aggregates of intermediate filaments. The tumour showed a very aggressive course, and the child died 5 months after the diagnosis of cerebral metastasis.

Abstract
The diagnostic accuracy of frozen section (FS) examination and intraoperative cytology (IOC) has been compared in two different series of breast biopsies in which only one of the two methods has been used. The intraoperative results have been compared with the final histological diagnoses. Five-hundred-ten cases have been investigated by using FS only, and 407 by means of IOC. The two series were comparable because they included the same pathologies; moreover we have subdivided each series into four groups of pathologies to better evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of two methods. The total diagnostic accuracy of FS has been 93.13% vs. 95.33% of IOC. The value of diagnostic accuracy of FS and IOC in the four sub-groups substantially overlapped; there was only a little difference in the group of "various lesions" in which the diagnostic accuracy of IOC was higher. No false positive has been observed in IOC. FS have produced one false positive (0.19%), whereas false negatives have amounted to 1.77% for IOC and to 1.72% for FS. Deferred diagnoses have been 2.95% in IOC and 4.90% in FS examination. For both methods according to Galen and Gambino the following values have been calculated: sensitivity, specificity, efficiency, and predictive value. By comparing the data, the value of the cytological examination in the intraoperative diagnoses results is evident mainly when the latter is coupled with the gross observation.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

Abstract
Peyronie's disease, the etiology of which remains unknown, is characterized by a focal or multifocal disorder of penile tunica albuginea. An excessive collagen deposition gives rise to the formation of the plaque, which is fibrotic first and then becomes calcific. Typical symptoms of the disease are painful erection, pathological bending of the erect penis and impotence at the more advanced stages (43% of the cases). There is evidence that the tunica albuginea has a fundamental role in the erection mechanism. We evaluated the tunica albuginea of patients suffering from Peyronie's disease, with or without impotence, and found progressive disorders of the microstructure in areas that were not affected by fibrocalcific formations. There was a significant decrease (p < 0.0001) of elastic fiber concentration (55.05 +/- 23.83 per high power field) in patients with Peyronie's disease compared to the concentration in the tunica albuginea of a control group (128.50 +/- 11.79 per high power field). Moreover, when the elastic fiber concentration in the tunica albuginea of patients Peyronie's disease and normal erection (71.36 +/- 12.00 per high power field) was compared to the concentration in the tunica albuginea of those with Peyronie's disease and impotence (33.14 +/- 4.84 per high power field) a significant difference was noted (p < 0.0001).

Abstract
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most frequent cutaneous neoplasm, with a generally favorable clinical behavior. Sometimes, indeed, it recurs after therapy and/or metastasizes. As point mutations in the coding sequence of the p53 tumor suppressor gene have been implicated in the progression of many human tumors, we studied the expression of p53 protein on this neoplasia. We tested immunohistochemically the positivity for p53 protein (NCL-p53-CM1, YLEM) on 19 cases of morphologically "non aggressive" BCC (BCC1) and on 19 "aggressive" BCC (BCC2), all with one or more relapses and 3 with distant metastases also. Results were related to clinico-pathological and follow-up data. All but one BCC2 were found positive for p53 protein. Conversely, only 2 cases of BCC1 exhibited low immunoreactivity for p53 protein, with high statistical differences between the two groups. No correlation was found between the immunoreactivity, age of patients, and site of the lesions. The availability of immunohistochemistry and the relatively easy interpretation of the results make screening for p53 protein a possibly useful tool in the prognostic evaluation of BCC.

Abstract
We investigated the clinicopathological findings in five cases of multicystic mesothelial proliferation (MMP). All masses consisted of multiloculated cysts attached to pelvic organs and sometimes growing into the upper abdominal cavity. The cystic spaces were lined by flattened or cuboidal cells. The stroma showed fibrosis, oedema and chronic inflammation. Immunohistochemistry revealed strong positive staining for cytokeratin and epithelial membrane antigen, and focal positivity for vimentin and carcinoembryonic antigen. The endothelial markers were negative. Electron microscopy showed abundant surface microvilli and well-developed basal lamina. DNA analysis identified euploid cell populations in all cases. All but one case had a previous history of abdominal surgery. Despite the worrying appearance the clinical outcome was favourable in all cases; there was one recurrence. Clinical and pathological data support the hypothesis that MMP represent a reactive mesothelial proliferation and not a neoplastic process.

Abstract
A case of blue naevus of the endocervix is reported with immunohistochemical and ultrastructural findings. The dendritic melanin-containing cells are analogous to the blue naevi cells of the skin. Electron microscopy showed melanosomes in dendritic cells but no cells with melanin-producing Schwann cells features were observed. Histogenetic hypotheses are discussed.

Gingival localization of fibrosarcoma of soft oral tissues: case report. ACTA STOMATOLOGICA BELGICA 1992; 89:129-32. [PMID: 1449089] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [MESH Headings] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 12/27/2022]
Abstract
A gingival localization of fibrosarcoma of soft oral tissues was described in a 58-year-old female. Primary fibrosarcoma of the head and neck region is rare. The histological appearance of the tumour is related to its grade of differentiation. The amount of collagen is variable. The accepted treatment is radical surgery; but metastases occur frequently in the lungs.

Abstract
Two cases of adenomatoid tumor of the uterus of unusually large size are reported. One was 12 cm, the other 13 cm in diameter and one was located in the lateral wall and the other in the posterior wall of the uterus. Both were an unusually large or giant variant of adenomatoid tumor of the uterus. The cystic macroscopical and microscopical pattern is characteristic of giant adenomatoid tumors. The origin of these neoplasms is discussed.

Abstract
Seven cases of tricholemmal carcinoma (TLC), a rarely recognized cutaneous adnexal neoplasm of external hair sheath origin, are described. Most occurred on sun-exposed skin; five involved the head and neck, one the right leg, and one the right thigh. TLC had a generally short history and all were treated by local excision. The lesions had an exophytic (3 cases) or polypoid (4 cases) gross appearance. Histologically, TLC exhibited a sharply circumscribed, lobular epithelial proliferation in continuity with the epidermis. A cytologic hallmark of these tumors was the presence of large cells with PAS-reactive, diastase-sensitive, clear or pale eosinophilic cytoplasm. High mitotic rate was a constant feature. Four tumors were infiltrative, with pushing borders, whereas three were intraepithelial. One case showed acantholysis. Immunocytochemistry revealed positivity for prekeratin and negativity for CEA and EMA, supporting the trichogenic origin of these tumors. Ultrastructural examination gave clear indication of epithelial origin for the cells but did not verify hair follicular differentiation. Despite locally aggressive growth, the clinical course of TLC appeared indolent. Moreover, there are no cases with metastases reported in the literature.

Abstract
A series of 1153 fine-needle aspiration biopsies (FNAB) of breast masses obtained during the period 1985 to 1988 in one institution was examined. The following diagnostic accuracy values were found: sensitivity, 93.0%; specificity, 92.4%; predictive positive value, 93.7%; and efficiency, 92.8%. These results were compared with a previously published series for the period 1976 to 1984. The diagnostic accuracy values did not differ significantly between the two series.

Extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma with intranuclear vacuoles and microtubular aggregates in the rough endoplasmic reticulum. Report of a case with fine needle aspiration and electron microscopy. Acta Cytol 1990; 34:858-62. [PMID: 2256420] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [MESH Headings] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 12/31/2022]
Abstract
The findings of fine needle aspiration biopsy cytology, histology, immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy in an extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma of the soft tissue of the thigh detected in a 65-year-old man are described. In addition to the more usual cytologic findings of chondroblasts and pleomorphic mesenchymal cells, this tumor displayed distinctive intranuclear cytoplasmic inclusions and microtubular aggregates in the rough endoplasmic reticulum. Cytologic study made the diagnosis of malignancy, suggesting a myxoid sarcoma; the precise diagnosis was made by the subsequent studies on the resected tumor and resin-embedded samples of the aspirate. The suitability of aspirated material in the differential diagnosis of myxoid soft tissue tumors is discussed.

Abstract
Thirty patients with distal ulcerative colitis in remission (17 proctitis, 13 proctosigmoiditis) were randomly given either 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) or placebo suppositories, 400 mg bid. During the 1-yr follow-up, patients were assessed clinically every month, and flexible sigmoidoscopy with a rectal pinch biopsy specimen and laboratory data were carried out every 3 months. Two patients in the 5-ASA group chose to withdraw from the study, one relapsed, and 12 remained in remission. In the placebo group, one patient chose to withdraw, 11 relapsed, and three remained in remission. The cumulative remission rate at the 12th month was 92% in the 5-ASA group and 21% in the placebo group. Log rank test showed a significant difference in the relapse rate between the two groups (chi 2 = 14.26, p less than 0.001). No side effects were observed. We conclude that 5-ASA in suppository form (800 mg/day), administered for 1 yr, is safe and effective in maintaining remission of distal ulcerative colitis.

Abstract
A case of idiopathic muscular hypertrophy of the esophagus in a 55 years old woman with a two months history of dysphagia is presented. Radiological, esophagoscopic and CT scanning appearance was of an infiltrating process, but intraoperative histological examination revealed the benign feature of the lesion. Thus adequate surgical treatment was performed.

Abstract
One case of fibroma of tendon sheath is described. This tumor is a distinct entity with a characteristic location and histological appearance. The lesion must be distinguished from giant cell tumor of tendon sheath, nodular fasciitis and fibrous histiocytoma. Recurrence rate is 24%. Local excision is the treatment of choice for primary and recurrent lesions.

Abstract
The authors report a case of urachal carcinoma of a 60 year old woman of particular interest because of the clinical history, biological behavior and histotype. The tumor presented as an umbilical mass of 25 cm which had slowly increased during 20 years without evident clinical signs or infiltration of the peritoneum and abdominal organs. Histologic findings revealed an adenosquamous carcinoma, which represents less than 5 % of urachal neoplasms. Surgical excision is the treatment. The prognosis is poor because of regional recurrence and metastases. The authors review the literature analyzing the criteria for differential diagnosis between adenocarcinoma of vesical and of urachal origin.
