Changes and significance of the fibrinolytic system following two pulmonary thromboembolisms in a rabbit model. Abstract
In this study, we examined the changes in the fibrinolytic system in a rabbit model of two acute pulmonary thromboembolisms (PTE). Fourteen healthy adult New Zealand white rabbits were divided into three groups: the single PTE group (five rabbits), the double PTE group (five rabbits), and the control group (four rabbits). A rabbit model of acute pulmonary embolism was established, and immunohistochemistry and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were performed on tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) in plasma, and pulmonary embolism tissue. Plasma results: 1) t-PA levels: one hour following the initial modeling, the levels of t-PA in the modeling groups were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). In addition, the t-PA levels in the double PTE group were found to be lower after the modeling, as compared to the pre-modeling period (P<0.05). One hour after the second modeling, the double PTE group had lower t-PA levels compared to the control group (P<0.05). However, t-PA rebounded two hours after modeling in the double PTE group. One week after the second modeling, the double PTE group had higher t-PA levels compared to the other two groups (P<0.05). 2) PAI-1 results: one hour after the initial modeling, PAI-1 levels in the two modeling groups were lower compared to the pre-modeling period and control groups (P<0.05). Two hours following modeling, PAI-1 levels in both modeling groups were lower compared to the control group (P<0.05). PAI-1 levels were lower in the double PTE group one and two hours after the second modeling compared to the other two groups and pre-modeling period (P<0.05). 3) The immunohistochemistry results: the expression of PAI-1 decreased in the two modeling groups, while t-PA expression increased compared to the control group. 4) PCR results: t-PA mRNA expression did not differ among the three groups. The PAI-1 mRNA expression was lower in the two PTE groups compared to the control group. We conclude that in the early stages of PTE, the local fibrinolytic activity of the thrombus is increased, which is favorable for thrombolysis. However, as the thrombus persists, the activity of the fibrinolytic system is inhibited, contributing to the development of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension.

Abstract
With the development of guidance technology and ablation equipment, ablative procedures have emerged as important loco-regional alternatives to surgical resection for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (rHCC) patients. Currently, ablation modalities used in clinical practice mainly include radiofrequency ablation (RFA), microwave ablation (MWA), laser ablation (LA), cryoablation (CRA), high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), and irreversible electroporation (IRE). Accumulated comparative data of ablation versus surgical resection reveal noninferior responses and outcomes but superior adverse effects. Moreover, studies demonstrate that ablation may serve as an excellent procedure for rHCC given its exact minimal invasiveness and immune modulation. We focus on the current status of ablation in clinical practice for rHCC and discuss new research in the field, including ablation combined with these other modalities, such as targeted therapy and immunotherapy.

Abstract
This paper present a novel, integrated compressed ultrafast photography system for comprehensive measurement of the aluminium planar wire array Z-Pinch evolution process. The system incorporates a large array streak camera and embedded encoding to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. Based on the "QiangGuang-I" pulsed power facility, we recorded the complete continuous 2D implosion process of planar wire array Z-Pinch for the first time. Our results contribute valuable understanding of imploding plasma instabilities and offer direction for the optimization of Z-Pinch facilities.

Abstract
AIM To identify more specific screening indicators at magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the diagnosis of spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (SDAVFs) and to determine an efficient diagnostic strategy. MATERIALS AND METHODS This retrospective study analysed clinical and imaging data of patients diagnosed with SDAVF and alternative myelopathy who underwent conventional MRI examinations. Additionally, three-dimensional (3D) T2-weighted sampling perfection with application-optimised contrasts using different flip-angle evolutions (3D-T2-SPACE) and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) data from patients with SDAVF were compared with digital subtraction angiography (DSA) data. RESULTS The age of onset, perimedullary flow voids (PFV), distribution of lesions, syringomyelia, degree of spinal oedema, and cauda equina disorder (CED) were factors that showed statistically significance in the identification of SDAVF with alternative myelopathy. After controlling for age, gender, PFV, degree of spinal cord swelling, and syringomyelia, the multivariable ordinal logistic regression model showed that the CED sign (OR = 32.46; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.47-427.15; p=0.008) was an independent predictor for SDAVF. The diagnostic model constructed using the PFV and CED signs had better diagnostic performance, with an area under the curve of 0.957 (p<0.001), maximum Youden index of 0.844, sensitivity of 92.9%, and specificity of 91.5%. Both 3D-T2-SPACE (77.8%) and CE-MRA (83.3%) sequences had good localisation values for SDAVF. Combining the two imaging examinations had better diagnostic accuracy than that of DSA. CONCLUSION CED and PFV on conventional MRI were specific indicators for the diagnosis of SDAVF. To compensate for the lack of fistula localisation on conventional MRI, 3D-T2-SPACE and CE-MRA can be used. Together they complement each other and have good diagnostic potential.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) To evaluate intratumoral treatment response distribution with using FDG-PET/CT during the chemoradiotherapy of nasopharyngeal patients (NPC). MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 5 of 30 patients with stage III-IVA NPC were enrolled in the institutional protocol for induction/concurrent chemoradiotherapy with radiation dose of 70 Gy in 33 fractions. For each patient, a pre-radiation treatment FDG-PET/MRI image (SUV0) and a mid-treatment image (SUVm) at the treatment dose of 31.8 Gy were obtained. Followed by deformable PET/MRI registration between SUV0 and SUVm, the tumor voxel SUV reduction ratio was obtained to construct a tumor dose response matrix (DRM). Tumor SUVavid was also constructed by limiting tumor voxel SUVm > a given value. Spatial correlations of the tumor SUV0, SUVm, SUVavid and DRM were determined. RESULTS The mean and coefficient variation (CV) of the SUV0, SUVm and DRM for all tumors were 5.05 (52%), 2.72 (49%) and 0.64 (63%) (Table contains the individual data), which were smaller than those on the SUVs of head-n-neck HPV+ patients reported previously due to the induction chemotherapy, but had much larger DRM mean and CV. The inter-tumoral CVs of SUV0 and DRM were 29% and 27%, which were much lower than those of the intra-tumoral CVs 43% and 57%. Meanwhile, the intra-tumoral variations on SUV0 was smaller than the one of head-neck HPV+ patients, but the DRM intra-variation was much larger. There was a weak correlation between SUV0 and SUVm with the correlation coefficient 0.13, a medium correlation of -0.55 between SUV0 and DRM, but a strong correlation, 0.72, between SUVm and DRM. However, the spatial correlation between tumor DRM and SUVavid was getting weaker as the SUVavid value increasing and equal 0.47 with SUVavid value > 3. CONCLUSION The spatial dose response DRM for NPC in the concurrent chemoradiotherapy was relatively high, while had relatively low baseline tumor metabolic activity SUV0. It was most likely due to the induction chemotherapy. In addition, the tumor dose response showed vary large intra-tumoral variation. The high correlations between DRM and SUVm imply that SUVavid could be used partially to guide adaptive modification of NPC treatment with carefully selected boundary value.

Abstract
Epidemiological studies have demonstrated that the use of antidepressants is associated with a decreased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC); however, the mechanisms behind this association are yet unknown. Adrenergic system contributes to the stress-related tumor progression, with norepinephrine (NE) mainly secreted from adrenergic nerve fibers. Norepinephrine serotonin reuptake inhibitors are successfully used antidepressants. This study demonstrates that a widely used antidepressant venlafaxine (VEN) antagonizes NE-promoted colon cancer in vivo and in vitro. Bioinformatic analysis suggested that NE transporter (NET, SLC6A2), a target of VEN, was closely associated with the prognosis of clinical patients with CRC. In addition, the knockdown of NET antagonized the effect of NE. The NET-protein phosphatase 2 scaffold subunit alpha/phosphorylated Akt/vascular endothelial growth factor pathway partially mediates the antagonizing effect of VEN on NE's actions in colon cancer cells. These were also confirmed by in vivo experiments. Our findings revealed for the first time that, in addition to its primary function as a transporter, NET also promotes NE-enhanced colon cancer cell proliferation, tumor angiogenesis, and tumor growth. This provides direct experimental and mechanistic evidence for the use of antidepressant VEN in the treatment of CRC and a therapeutic potential for repurposing existing drugs as an anti-cancer approach to improve the prognosis of patients with CRC.

Abstract
SET domain containing lysine methyltransferase 7 (SETD7) belongs to the protein lysine methyltransferase family and can catalyze the monomethylation of histone H3K4, which plays a vital role in the regulation of cell cycle, cell differentiation, DNA damage response and chromatin remodeling through K/R-S/T-K (K is lysine residue) sites and the recognition of substrates mediated by SET, i-SET, and n-SET domains and electrostatic action. SETD7 also can regulate the transcription of several genes including β-catenin, Cullin l and lin-28 homolog A (LIN28A), etc. In addition, the abnormal expression of SETD7 can promote the proliferation, migration, invasion of tumor cells, predict the poor prognosis of tumor patients, and may be a potential target for tumor therapy. This paper reviews the structure of SETD7, its role in tumor genesis and development, and the current research progress of relevant targeted drugs to explore its regulatory mechanism in tumor genesis and development and the prospect of targeted therapy.

Abstract
Neutron and x-ray imaging are essential ways to diagnose a pulsed radiation source. The three-dimensional (3D) intensity distribution reconstructed from two-dimensional (2D) radiation images can significantly promote research regarding the generation and variation mechanisms of pulsed radiation sources. Only a few (≤5) projected images at one moment are available due to the difficulty in building imaging systems for high-radiation-intensity and short-pulsed sources. The reconstruction of a 3D source with a minimal number of 2D images is an ill-posed problem that leads to severe structural distortions and artifacts of the image reconstructed by conventional algorithms. In this paper, we present an iterative method to reconstruct a 3D source using spherical harmonic decomposition. Our algorithm improves the representation ability of spherical harmonic decomposition for 3D sources by enlarging the order of the expansion, which is limited in current analytical reconstruction algorithms. Prior knowledge of the source can be included to obtain a reasonable solution. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the reconstructed image quality of the iterative algorithm is better than that of the analytical algorithm. The iterative method can suppress the effect of noise in the integral projection image and has better robustness and adaptability than the analytical method.

Abstract
A single-shot imaging system with multiple frames has been developed, which can record sequential multiple frames by delaying multiple optical images with fiber bundles and then capturing the images with a single intensified camera. The observed optical object is imaged through four lenses onto the end faces of four sets of fiber bundles. These fiber bundles with different lengths can provide different delays for delivering optical images, which determine the inter-frame separation times. The optical images exported from the fiber bundles are captured with a single intensified CMOS camera simultaneously. This imaging system has been applied for investigating the dynamic x-ray spot of the rod-pinch diode via a combination of scintillators, which are used to convert x-ray images to optical images. Four sequential x-ray images in a single shot have been obtained, which show the dynamic development of the rod-pinch x-ray spot. The results experimentally reveal the dynamics of the electrons flow bombarding the rod, which roughly agrees with the theoretical modeling of the rod-pinch diode.

Abstract
Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignant tumors with high rates of recurrence and mortality. Thymine DNA glycosylase (TDG) is a key molecule in the base excision repair pathway. Recently, increasing attention has been paid to the role of TDG in tumor development. However, the specific functions of TDG in CRC remain unclear. Methods: The biological functions of TDG and DNA methyltransferase 3 alpha (DNMT3A) in CRC were evaluated using migration and invasion assays, respectively. A tumor metastasis assay was performed in nude mice to determine the in vivo role of TDG. The interaction between TDG and DNMT3A was determined via co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP). Chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis (ChIP) was used to predict the DNA-binding site of DNMT3A. We also performed methylation-specific PCR (MSP) to detect changes in TIMP2 methylation. Results: TDG inhibited the migration and invasion of human colon cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo. TDG promoted the ubiquitination and degradation of DNMT3A by binding to it. Its interference with siDNMT3A also inhibits the migration and invasion of human colon cancer cells. Furthermore, the ChIP, MSP, and rescue experiments results confirmed that TDG accelerated the degradation of DNMT3A and significantly regulated the transcription and expression of TIMP2, thereby affecting the migration and invasion of human colon cancer cells. Conclusion: Our findings reveal that TDG inhibits the migration and invasion of human colon cancer cells through the DNMT3A-TIMP2 axis, which may be a potential therapeutic strategy for the development and treatment of CRC.

Abstract
Background: The optimal treatment of cancer-related malnutrition remains unknown. A single-center prospective cohort study was performed to compare the efficacy of megestrol acetate (MA) combined with oral nutrition supplement (ONS) and MA alone for the treatment of lung cancer-related malnutrition. Methods: 76 eligible patients were prospectively enrolled in two arms, Arm 1 patients (n = 40, 52.6%) received MA 160 mg/d, and Arm 2 patients (n = 36, 47.4%) received MA 160 mg/d combined with ONS 55.8 g/t.i.d, all orally. All patients received anticancer therapy. Treatment duration was 3 months. The primary endpoints were improvements in body mass index (BMI) and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) score. Secondary endpoints were assessed by appetite, mid-upper arm circumference (MAC), serum pre-albumin levels, and serum albumin levels. Results: Baseline levels were comparable between Arm 1 and Arm 2 patients. Compared with Arm 1, primary endpoints (BMI, P = 0.018; ECOG, P = 0.022) and secondary endpoints (MAC, P = 0.025; serum pre-albumin, P = 0.043; and serum albumin, P = 0.034) were improved significantly after treatment in Arm 2. While toxicity was negligible and comparable between Arm 1 and Arm 2. Conclusion: MA combined with ONS may be an effective and safe treatment option for lung cancer-related malnutrition patients. Abstract
DNA-binding protein A (dbpA) is reported to be upregulated in many cancers and associated with tumor progress. The present study aimed to investigate the role of dbpA in 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-resistant and oxaliplatin (L-OHP)-resistant colorectal cancer (CRC) cells. We found that 5-FU and L-OPH treatment promoted the expression of dbpA. Enhanced dbpA promoted the drug resistance of SW620 cells to 5-FU and L-OHP. DbpA knockdown inhibited cell proliferation, induced cell apoptosis, and cell cycle arrested in SW620/5-FU and SW620/L-OHP cells. Besides, dbpA short hairpin RNA (shRNA) enhanced the cytotoxicity of 5-FU and L-OHP to SW620/5-FU and SW620/L-OHP cells. Meanwhile, dbpA shRNA inhibited the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway that induced by 5-FU stimulation in SW620/5-FU cells. Activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway or overexpression of checkpoint kinase 1 (Chk1) abrogated the promoting effect of dbpA downregulation on 5-FU sensitivity of CRC cells. Importantly, downregulation of dbpA suppressed tumor growth and promoted CRC cells sensitivity to 5-FU in vivo. Our study indicated that the knockdown of dbpA enhanced the sensitivity of CRC cells to 5-FU via Wnt/β-catenin/Chk1 pathway, and DbpA may be a potential therapeutic target to sensitize drug resistance CRC to 5-FU and L-OHP.

Abstract
The adrenergic system contributes to the stress‐induced onset and progression of cancer. Adrenergic fibers are the primary source of norepinephrine (NE). The underlying mechanisms involved in NE‐induced colon cancer remain to be understood. In this study, we describe the function and regulatory network of NE in the progression of colon cancer. We demonstrate that NE‐induced phosphorylation of cAMP response element‐binding protein 1 (CREB1) promotes proliferation, migration, and invasion of human colon cancer cells. The downstream effector of NE, CREB1, bound to the promoter of miR‐373 and transcriptionally activated its expression. miR‐373 expression was shown to be necessary for NE‐induced cell proliferation, invasion, and tumor growth. We confirmed that proliferation and invasion of colon cancer cells are regulated in vitro and in vivo by miR‐373 through targeting of the tumor suppressors TIMP2 and APC. Our data suggest that NE promotes colon cancer cell proliferation and metastasis by activating the CREB1–miR‐373 axis. The study of this novel signaling axis may provide mechanistic insights into the neural regulation of colon cancer and help in the design of future clinical studies on stress biology in colorectal cancer.

Abstract
Considerable research has shown that children with dyslexia have deficits in visual spatial attention orientation. Additionally, self-referential processing makes self-related information play a unique role in the individual visual spatial attention orientation. However, it is unclear whether such self-referential processing impacts the visual spatial attention orientation of children with dyslexia. Therefore, we manipulated the reference task systematically in the cue-target paradigm and investigated the modulation effect of self-referential processing on visual spatial attention of children with dyslexia. In the self-referential processing condition, we observed that children with dyslexia demonstrated stable cue effects in the visual spatial attention orientation tasks when the Stimulus Onset Asynchronies (SOAs) were set to 100 ms, while other-referential processing weakened the cue effects of the visual spatial attention orientation of children with dyslexia. With cue effect as the index, we also observed that the self-referential processing had a significant larger regulatory effect at the early stage of visual spatial attention orientation, as compared with other-referential processing. These differences have a high-ranked consistency between children with dyslexia and typically developing reader. The results suggested that self-referential processing can regulate the visual spatial attention deficits of children with dyslexia.

Abstract
Little is known about the role of the spleen in mediating systemic inflammatory responses in severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). We investigated the role played by the spleen in rats after SAP induction. Splenectomy was performed at designated time points after SAP induction. Pancreatic tissue and serum samples were collected and subjected to histologic, immunohistochemical, and immunologic analyses. After SAP induction, the splenic immune response was enhanced during SAP progression, as shown by the increased diameter of the splenic periarterial lymphatic sheath and the thickness of the splenic marginal zone. Rats with splenectomy developed acute pancreatitis more slowly than rats without splenectomy. In addition, pancreatic tissues of rats with splenectomy contained lower levels of serum amylase, tumor necrosis factor-α, and IL-6 and exhibited less acinar cell death, leukocyte infiltration, and interstitial edema than those of rats without splenectomy. Compared with splenectomy alone, cotreatment with splenectomy and the administration of splenic cells originating from a rat with SAP 12 hours after induction increased systemic inflammation in SAP rats. Splenic factors exacerbated SAP-associated liver and lung injury and accentuated intestinal mucosal barrier dysfunction. Splenectomy altered the serum cytokine profile in rats with SAP. In a rat model of SAP, the spleen exacerbated the systematic inflammatory responses and injury to multiple organs, indicating a new role for the spleen in SAP.

Abstract
PURPOSE Early diagnosis is crucial to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients (PC). The present study is designed to identify differently expressed peptides involved in PC as potential biomarkers. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN The serum proteome of 22 PC patients, 12 pancreatitis patients (PP), and 45 healthy controls (HC) are analyzed using magnetic bead-based weak cation exchange (MB-WCX) and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Next, a supervised neural network (SNN) algorithm model is established by ClinProTools and the candidate biomarker identified using liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS). Finally, the candidate biomarker is validated in tissue samples. RESULTS The SNN algorithm model discriminates PC from HC with 92.97% sensitivity and 94.55% specificity. Seventy-six differentially expressed peptides are identified, seven of which are significantly different among PC, PP, and HC (p < 0.05). Only one peak (m/z: 1466.99) tends to be upregulated in samples from HC, PP, and PC, which is identified as region of RNA-binding motif protein 6 (RBM6). In subsequent tissue analysis, it is verified that RBM6 expression is significantly higher in PC tissues than paracancerous tissue. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE The results indicate that RBM6 might serve as a candidate diagnostic biomarker for PC. CLINICAL RELEVANCE Methods used in this study could generate serum peptidome profiles of PC, PP, and HC, and present an approach to identify potential biomarkers for diagnosis of this malignancy.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the etiology and clinical characteristics of vocal fold paralysis in children. To provide useful information for diagnosis, management and prognosis in the clinical work. Methods: Two hundred and seven children with vocal fold paralysis in Children's Hospital of Fudan University were retrospectively studied, and followed-up. Results: All the patients had hoarseness.151 cases had vocal paralysis in the left side and the main etiology was pulmonary arterial hypertension.43 cases had bilateral vocal paralysis and all of them had respiratory problems.The main etiology were congenital tracheoesophageal malformations.13 cases had vocal paralysis in the right side.In terms of etiology, 8 cases were related to intracranial lesions, 2 cases were idiopathic. Conclusions: The main etiologies of left vocal fold paralysis were cardiovascular diseases, and bilateral vocal paralysis were congenital tracheoesophageal malformations.The main etiologies of right vocal fold paralysis were neoplastic and central lesion.The prognosis of bilateral vocal fold paralysis and right vocal fold paralysis was poor.

Abstract
Background There is an urgent need for the identification of new, clinically useful biomarkers of CRC to enhance diagnostic and prognostic capabilities. Methods We performed proteomic profiling on serum samples from paired pre- and post-operative CRC patients, colorectal polyps patients and healthy controls using an approach combining magnetic bead-based weak cation exchange and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry. We next performed liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry to identify the proteins and selected potential biomarker based on bioinformatics analysis of the TCGA and GEO dataset. We examined SETD7 expression in serum and tissue samples by ELISA and immunohistochemistry respectively and explored the biological function of SETD7 in vitro. Findings 85 differentially expressed peptides were identified. Five peptides showing the most significant changes in abundance across paired pre- and post-operation CRC patients, colorectal polyps patients and healthy controls were identified as peptide regions of FGA, MUC5AC and SETD7. Bioinformatics analysis suggested that the up-regulation of SETD7 in CRC is relatively specific. Validation studies showed that SETD7 expression increased from healthy controls to those with colorectal polyps and finally CRC patients, and decreased after surgery. The sensitivity and specificity of SETD7 were 92.17% and 81.08%, with a high diagnostic value (AUC = 0.9477). In addition, SETD7 expression was significantly correlated with tumor stage and microsatellite instability. Knockdown of SETD7 inhibited cancer cell proliferation, induced G1/S cell cycle arrest and increased apoptosis. Interpretation Our data indicate that SETD7 could serve as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for CRC.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the safety and efficacy of needle-tract assisted standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) for the treatment of complicated upper urinary tract calculi. Methods: The clinical data of 1 562 patients with complicated upper urinary calculi who received standard PCNL from December 2013 to December 2017 at Department of Urology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University were retrospectively analyzed. There were large residual stones in 256 patients through B-ultrasound exploration after standard PCNL, could't be detected with nephoscope in standard PCNL tracts. 16 F mini PCNL tract were established in 120 cases for treatment of residual stones, while needle-tract were established in order to guide nephroscope to find residual stones in 126 cases. Needle-tract were transferred to 16 F mini PCNL tract for treatment of residual stones in 10 patients if these residual stones could't be detected through needle-tract. Operation time, change of hemoglobin level after operation, incidence of postoperative complications, time of hospitalization and rate of stone clearance were measured in two groups. The statistical methods used included t test, Wilcoxon rank sum test, and χ2 test. Results: There were 1 to 3 mini tracts (M(QR): 1(1)) established in the mini tracts group and 1 to 7 needle-tracts (M(QR): 3(2)) established in the needle-tract group (Z=-10.57, P=0.000). Compared with mini tract group, the operation time ((62.0±18.0) minutes vs. (84.0±15.5) minutes, t=10.242, P=0.000), hospitalization time ((4.40±0.86) days vs. (5.20±0.81) days, t=7.570, P=0.049), hemoglobin dropped ((1.31±0.47) g/L vs. (2.74±0.63) g/L, t=20.12, P=0.000), and incidence of postoperative complications (7.9% (10/126) vs. 19.2% (23/120), χ2=6.674, P=0.01) of needle-tract group were lower, while postoperative stone clearance rate was higher (89.7% vs. 76.7%, χ2=7.497, P=0.006). No perioperative severe complications such as pleural injury, pneumatothorax, perforation of renal, trauma of abdominal organ occurred in two groups. Conclusion: Needle-tract assisted standard PCNL for the treatment of complicated upper urinary calculi can significantly improve stone clearance rate, reduce operation time, decrease risk of kidney and surrounding organs damage.

Abstract
Accumulating studies confirmed that luteolin, a common dietary flavonoid which is widely distributed in plants and has diverse beneficial biological function, including anti-oxidant, anti-inflammation and anticancer properties. However, the detail mechanisms of luteolin on GC are poorly understood. Here, we investigated the anticancer effect of luteolin in GC cells in vitro and in vivo. Luteolin reduced the cell viability in a time and dose-dependent manner. Luteolin significantly inhibited cell cycle progress, colony formation, proliferation, migration, invasion and promoted apoptosis in vitro and in vivo. Luteolin also regulated these biological effects associated regulators. Mechanically, luteolin treatment regulated Notch1, PI3K, AKT, mTOR, ERK, STAT3 and P38 signaling pathways and modulated a series of miRNAs expression. These findings provide novel insight into the molecular function of luteolin which suggest its potential as a therapeutic agent for human GC.

Abstract
The death of several black bears at the black bear breeding base in Yunnan Pingbian Daweishan is a matter of concern. Multiple black bears exhibited decreased appetite or unusual waste, and some were soporific or suffered from vomiting and anhelation. In order to ascertain the cause of death, 16S rDNA gene sequencing and phylogenetic analysis was performed on bacteria isolated from tissue samples obtained from dead bears. The biochemical characteristics of the isolated bacteria were subsequently analyzed using different biochemical test systems. The bacteria can decompose glucose, but it cannot produce gas. The fermentation study of sucrose, lactose, trehalose, glycerol and mannitol yielded positive results; while it was unable to decompose urea or ODC (ornithine decarboxylase). Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) analysis of a ~1500-bp DNA product amplified from the 16S rDNA of the bacterial isolate revealed that Enterococcus faecium from black bears is highly similar to other E. faecium isolates in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database, and the highest sequence similarity (99%) was with the reference strain. In addition, mice infected with the E. faecium isolate succumbed to severe damage to the lungs, liver, spleen, myocardium, and kidney tissues. In summary, the isolated E. faecium from dead black bears induced pathological changes in mice.

Abstract
An all-optical framing camera has been developed which measures the spatial profile of photons flux by utilizing a laser beam to probe the refractive index change in an indium phosphide semiconductor. This framing camera acquires two frames with the time resolution of about 1.5 ns and the inter frame separation time of about 13 ns by angularly multiplexing the probe beam on to the semiconductor. The spatial resolution of this camera has been estimated to be about 140 μm and the spectral response of this camera has also been theoretically investigated in 5 eV-100 KeV range. This camera has been applied in investigating the imploding dynamics of the molybdenum planar wire array Z-pinch on the 1-MA "QiangGuang-1" facility. This framing camera can provide an alternative scheme for high energy density physics experiments.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE A growing number of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging as new modulators in cancer origination and progression. However, the functions and molecular mechanisms of lncRNAs to colorectal cancer (CRC) are still largely unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the function and role of lncRNA FOXD2-AS1 (FOXD2-AS1) in human CRC. PATIENTS AND METHODS The expression of FOXD2-AS1 was investigated using Real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) in 45 CRC specimens and matched adjacent normal tissues and CRC cell lines. MTT assays were conducted to explore the impact of FOXD2-AS1 knockdown on the proliferation of human CRC cells. The effects of FOXD2-AS1 on CRC cell migration and invasion were evaluated by cell invasion assays and migration assays. Western blot analysis was used to determine the expression levels of EMT-related and Notch-related proteins. RESULTS The results showed that FOXD2-AS1 expression was significantly increased in CRC tissues as well as in CRC cell lines. Moreover, down-regulation of FOXD2-AS1 suppressed cell, proliferation, invasion and migration in vitro. Importantly, we further confirmed that EMT and the Notch signaling pathway were inactivated in CRC cells after FOXD2-AS1 knockdown. CONCLUSIONS FOXD2-AS1 promoted the progression of CRC by regulating EMT and Notch signaling pathway. Thus, targeting FOXD2-AS1 may be an effective strategy for CRC treatment.

Abstract
Tissue engineering has great potential to provide a functional de novo living valve replacement, capable of integration with host tissue and growth. Among various valve conduit fabrication techniques, three-dimensional (3-D) bioprinting enables deposition of cells and hydrogels into 3-D constructs with anatomical geometry and heterogeneous mechanical properties. Successful translation of this approach, however, is constrained by the dearth of printable and biocompatible hydrogel materials. Furthermore, it is not known how human valve cells respond to these printed environments. In this study, 3-D printable formulations of hybrid hydrogels are developed, based on methacrylated hyaluronic acid (Me-HA) and methacrylated gelatin (Me-Gel), and used to bioprint heart valve conduits containing encapsulated human aortic valvular interstitial cells (HAVIC). Increasing Me-Gel concentration resulted in lower stiffness and higher viscosity, facilitated cell spreading, and better maintained HAVIC fibroblastic phenotype. Bioprinting accuracy was dependent upon the relative concentrations of Me-Gel and Me-HA, but when optimized enabled the fabrication of a trileaflet valve shape accurate to the original design. HAVIC encapsulated within bioprinted heart valves maintained high viability, and remodeled the initial matrix by depositing collagen and glyosaminoglycans. These findings represent the first rational design of bioprinted trileaflet valve hydrogels that regulate encapsulated human VIC behavior. The use of anatomically accurate living valve scaffolds through bioprinting may accelerate understanding of physiological valve cell interactions and progress towards de novo living valve replacements.

Abstract
The aortic valve exhibits complex three-dimensional (3D) anatomy and heterogeneity essential for the long-term efficient biomechanical function. These are, however, challenging to mimic in de novo engineered living tissue valve strategies. We present a novel simultaneous 3D printing/photocrosslinking technique for rapidly engineering complex, heterogeneous aortic valve scaffolds. Native anatomic and axisymmetric aortic valve geometries (root wall and tri-leaflets) with 12-22 mm inner diameters (ID) were 3D printed with poly-ethylene glycol-diacrylate (PEG-DA) hydrogels (700 or 8000 MW) supplemented with alginate. 3D printing geometric accuracy was quantified and compared using Micro-CT. Porcine aortic valve interstitial cells (PAVIC) seeded scaffolds were cultured for up to 21 days. Results showed that blended PEG-DA scaffolds could achieve over tenfold range in elastic modulus (5.3±0.9 to 74.6±1.5 kPa). 3D printing times for valve conduits with mechanically contrasting hydrogels were optimized to 14 to 45 min, increasing linearly with conduit diameter. Larger printed valves had greater shape fidelity (93.3±2.6, 85.1±2.0 and 73.3±5.2% for 22, 17 and 12 mm ID porcine valves; 89.1±4.0, 84.1±5.6 and 66.6±5.2% for simplified valves). PAVIC seeded scaffolds maintained near 100% viability over 21 days. These results demonstrate that 3D hydrogel printing with controlled photocrosslinking can rapidly fabricate anatomical heterogeneous valve conduits that support cell engraftment.

Abstract
Inflammation plays a significant role in the pathophysiology of renal ischemia-reperfusion injury. Local inflammation is modulated by the brain via the vagus nerve and nicotinic acetylcholine receptors such that electrical or pharmacologic stimulation of this cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway results in suppression of proinflammatory cytokine production. We examined the effects of cholinergic stimulation using agonists, nicotine or GTS-21, given before or after bilateral renal ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. Pretreatment of rats with either agonist significantly attenuated renal dysfunction and tubular necrosis induced by renal ischemia. Similarly, tumor necrosis factor-alpha protein expression and leukocyte infiltration of the kidney were markedly reduced following treatment with cholinergic agonists. We found functional nicotinic acetylcholine receptors were present on rat proximal tubule epithelial cells. Cholinergic stimulation significantly decreased tubular necrosis in vagotomized rats after injury, implying an intact vagus nerve is not required for this renoprotective effect.

Abstract
A new instrument for observing blood cell state and the process of variation on hemorrheology has been developed. There are three ways of shear rate: setting by hand, automatically setting and simulating pulsative state. It can provide different variable flow fields. The shear rate can be set in the range from 0.1 to 1000 s-1. It needs only a little blood. It can be easyly and rapidely operated. it has clear images. The hemorrheology state of blood cells can be directly perceived through thd instrument by eyes. The display and measurement and record of blood cell's hemorrheology state can be finished in real time dynamically and simultaneously.

Abstract
An analytical iterative scheme is presented for computing the local characteristics of pressure and flow waves as they progress along a tree structure and become modified by wave reflections. Results are obtained to illustrate the phenomenon of pressure peaking under two different sets of circumstances. In the first case, the propagation of a single harmonic wave along a simple tree is considered, where wave reflections modify the amplitude of the pressure wave as it travels. In the second case, the propagation of a composite wave along a tree with multiple branches is considered, where wave reflections modify the shape of the wave as it travels and cause it to peak. The results demonstrate unambiguously that the root cause of this phenomenon is wave reflections caused by stepwise decreases in admittance, as has been previously suggested, rather than due to nonlinear interactions, as has also been previously suggested. It is shown clearly that even when wave reflections combine linearly, they lead to considerable peaking in the pressure waveform.

Abstract
Local hemodynamics in a bypass loop model with dimensions typical of those in the human coronary circulation are studied, particularly with regards to the effects of wave reflections. While in a single vessel of such dimensions and a single source of wave reflections the effects would be insignificant, in a bypass loop the combination of a narrowed vessel with a converging junction and several reflection sites may produce wave reflections with significant effects on the pressure and flow distributions within the vessels forming the loop. Calculations to test this possibility were performed, based on D'Alembert's solutions of the wave equation and with a proposed matching scheme to deal with the converging junction. The results indicate that there are very large wave reflection effects at a frequency of 10 Hz, smaller but significant effects at 5 Hz, and some insignificant effects at 1 Hz. The results also indicate that partial flow cut-off may occur within the loop under some singular circumstances, whereby certain harmonic components of the incident wave are totally reflected. In the clinical setting these effects would detract from the efficiency of the bypass as a conduit, to a degree dependent on the degree of occlusion of the bypassed vessel. The choice of a larger diameter for the bypass appears to diminish this dependence and is thus on the whole favorable despite the contribution it makes to impedance mismatch at the junction.

Abstract
Analytical expressions for the reflection coefficients in pulsatile flow through converging junctions are derived by two independent methods and are used to study the effects of wave reflections on the pressure distribution in a simple vascular loop. A simulated physiological situation is used as an example in which the loop is formed by the combination of a bypass and a bypassed vessel, the relative diameter of the latter being varied in order to simulate a narrowing. The results demonstrate how, in the case of a converging junction, the effects of wave reflections on the pressure distribution in one vessel depend on conditions within the vessel itself as well as in the other. The new reflection coefficients take into account this interdependence of flow in the two vessels forming a converging junction, and are shown to be consistent with reflection coefficients commonly used in diverging junctions.

Abstract
In order to test the practical applicability of oligonucleotide fingerprinting in China we have investigated unrelated individuals, family members and a pair of twins from the Beijing area using the probe (CAC)5/(GTG)5. Except for the monozygotic twins highly variable banding patterns were demonstrated as expected for the randomly selected individuals but also for the relatives. On the basis of an initial survey of 50 unrelated individuals the calculated probability for obtaining by chance two identical multilocus patterns is very small (less than 1.93 x 10(-13). Therefore it seems reasonable to conclude that like in caucasians, (CAC)5/(GTG)5 fingerprints are completely individual-specific also in this population. Therefore they have already been used successfully for identification purposes and paternity tests in many actual cases.

Abstract
A clinical trial of secondary prevention of reinfarction with low dose aspirin is reported. 50 mg aspirin per day was administered in 216 case. 211 cases did not take aspirin or any other antiplatelet agents as a control group. The follow-up periods in the two groups were 19.4 +/- 12.6 mon and 20.7 +/- 13.0 mon, respectively. There were 175 males in the aspirin group and 137 males in the control group. The incidence of reinfarction was reduced by 65% and platelet aggregation was inhibited obviously in the aspirin group as compared to the control group in men, whereas no significant trends were observed in women.
