Abstract
H2O in flue gas causes the deactivation of V2O5/TiO2 catalysts for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx with NH3 at low temperatures. Developing water resistance requires understanding the theoretical mechanism of H2O impact on the catalysts. The aim of this work was to clarify the adsorption process of H2O and the deactivation mechanism induced by H2O through density functional theory (DFT). The process of H2O adsorption was studied based on a modeled V2O5/TiO2 catalyst surface. It was found that H2O had a strong interaction with exposed titanium atoms. Water adsorption on the catalyst surface significantly alters the electronic structure of VOx sites, transforming Lewis acid sites into Brønsted acid sites. Exposed titanium sites contribute to the decrease of Lewis acidity via adsorbed water. Ab initio thermodynamic calculations show that H2O adsorption on V2O5/TiO2 is stable at low coverage but less favorable at high coverage. Adsorption of NH3 is the most critical step for the SCR of NOx, and the adsorption of H2O can hinder this process. The H2O coverage below 15% of adsorption sites could enhance the NH3 adsorption rate and have a limited effect on the acidity, while higher coverage impeded the adsorption ability of VOx sites. This work provided electron-scale insight into the adsorption impact of H2O on the surface of V2O5/TiO2 catalysts, presented thermodynamic analysis of the adsorption of H2O and NH3, paving the way for the exploration of V2O5/TiO2 catalysts with improved water resistance.

Abstract
As marine resources and transportation develop, oil spill incidents are increasing, endangering marine ecosystems and human lives. Rapidly and accurately identifying marine oil spill is of utmost importance in protecting marine ecosystems. Marine oil spill detection methods based on deep learning and computer vision have the great potential significantly enhance detection efficiency and accuracy, but their performance is often limited by the scarcity of real oil spill samples, posing a challenging to train a precise detection model. This study introduces a detection method specifically designed for scenarios with limited sample sizes. First, the small sample dataset of marine oil spill taken by Landsat-8 satellite is used as the training set. Then, a single image generative adversarial network (SinGAN) capable of training with a single oil spill image is constructed for expanding the dataset, generating diverse marine oil spill samples with different shapes. Second, a YOLO-v8 model is pretrained via the method of transfer learning and then trained with dataset before and after augmentation separately for real-time and efficient oil spill detection. Experimental results have demonstrated that the YOLO-v8 model, trained on an expanded dataset, exhibits notable enhancements in recall, precision, and average precision, with improvements of 12.3 %, 6.3 %, and 11.3 % respectively, compared to the unexpanded dataset. It reveals that our marine oil spill detection model based on YOLO-v8 exhibits leading or comparable performance in terms of recall, precision, and AP metrics. The data augmentation technique based on SinGAN contributes to the performance of other popular object detection algorithms as well.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Previous studies have found associations between polymorphisms in some candidate genes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) risk. However, the association between TLR2 and TLR9 polymorphisms and COPD risk remains uncertain. METHODS Four variants (rs352140, rs3804099, rs3804100, and rs5743705) of the TLR2 and TLR9 genes in 540 COPD patients and 507 healthy controls were genotyped using the Agena MassARRAY system. Odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated to assess the association of TLR2 and TLR9 polymorphisms with COPD risk by logistic regression analysis. RESULTS TLR9-rs352140, TLR2-rs3804100, and TLR2-rs5743705 were related to a lower risk of COPD among Chinese people and the significance still existed after Bonferroni correction. Additionally, rs3804099, rs3804100, and rs352140 were found to be associated with COPD development in different subgroups (males, age ≤ 68 years, smokers, BMI < 24 kg/m2, and acute exacerbation). CONCLUSIONS Our findings indicated that TLR9 and TLR2 polymorphisms had protective effects on the development of COPD among Chinese people.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Glycans constitute the primary components of proteins that regulate key carcinogenic processes in cancer progression. This study investigated the significance of O-glycan synthesis in the pathogenesis, outcome, and therapy of pancreatic cancer (PC). METHODS Transcriptomic data and clinical prognostic information of PC were acquired via TCGA and GEO databases. CSA database was used to obtain single-cell data of PC. The O-glycan biosynthesis signaling pathway and its related genes were acquired via the MSigDB platform. The nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) clustering was utilized to construct the O-glycan biosynthesis-associated molecular subtypes in PC. The LASSO and Cox regression were utilized to build the prognostic prediction model. We utilized real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) to verify the expressed levels of model genes. Single-cell analysis was utilized to investigate the levels of target genes and O-glycan biosynthesis signaling pathway in the PC tumour microenvironment. RESULTS We obtained 30 genes related to O-glycan biosynthesis, among which 15 were associated with the prognosis of PC. All PC samples were grouped into two distinct molecular subtypes associated with O-glycan biosynthesis: OGRGcluster C1 and OGRGcluster C2, and compared to OGRGcluster C1. PCs in OGRGcluster C2 had a more advanced clinical stage and pathological grade, worse prognosis, and more active O-glycan biosynthesis function. Immune analysis indicated that naïve B cell, CD8+ T cell, memory-activated CD4+ T cell, and monocytes displayed remarkably higher infiltration levels in OGRGcluster C1 while resting NK cell, macrophages M0, resting dendritic cell, activated dendritic cell, and neutrophils exhibited markedly higher infiltration levels in OGRGcluster C2. OGRGcluster C1 exhibited higher sensitivities to drugs, such as cisplatin, irinotecan, KRAS(G12C) inhibitor-12, oxaliplatin, paclitaxel, and sorafenib. Besides, we built the O-glycan biosynthesis-related prognostic model (including SPRR1B, COL17A1, and ECT2) with a good prediction performance. SPRR1B, COL17A1, and ECT2 were remarkably highly expressed in PC tissues and linked to a poor outcome. Single-cell analysis revealed that Oglycan biosynthesis was observed only in PC, and consistent with this, the target genes were significantly enriched in PC. CONCLUSION We first constructed molecular subtypes and prognostic models related to O-glycan biosynthesis in PC. It is clear that O-glycan biosynthesis is related to the development, prognosis, immune microenvironment, and treatment of PC. This provides new strategies for stratification, diagnosis, and treatment of PC patients.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical features of fatty liver disease (FLD) from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) to metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MASLD), so as to elucidate its clinical application value under three renames. Methods: Patients who were hospitalized in the Department of Hepatology, Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated to Xinjiang Medical University, from January 2020 to September 2023 and met the diagnosis of NAFLD, metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), or MASLD were selected as the research subjects. The clinical indicators differences among the three groups of patients were compared, mainly including general information (age, gender, body mass index, past history, etc.), serological indicators (liver and kidney function, blood lipids, blood sugar, coagulation function, etc.), non-invasive liver fibrosis indicators, fat attenuation parameters, etc. Measurement data were analyzed using ANOVA and the rank sum test, while count data were analyzed using the χ(2) test. Results: NAFLD, MAFLD, and MASLD prevalence rates among 536 cases were 64.0%, 93.7%, and 100%, respectively. 318 cases (59.3%) met the three fatty liver names at the same time among them. Male population proportions in NAFLD, MAFLD, and MASLD were 30.9%, 55.8%, and 53.9%, respectively. The alcohol consumption history proportion was 0, 36.7%, and 36.0%, respectively. The smoking history proportion was 7.0%, 31.9%, and 30.6%, respectively. The body mass index was (27.66 ± 3.97), (28.33 ± 3.63), and (27.90 ± 3.89) kg/m(2), respectively. The γ-glutamyltransferase levels were 26.6 (18.0, 47.0) U/L, 31.0 (20.0, 53.0) U/L, and 30.8 (19.8, 30.8) U/L, respectively. The high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were 1.07 (0.90, 1.23) mmol/L, 1.02 (0.86, 1.19) mmol/L, and 1.03 (0.87,1.21) mmol/L, respectively. Sequentially measured uric acid was (322.98 ± 84.51) μmol/L, (346.57 ± 89.49) μmol/L, and (344.89 ±89.67) μmol/L, respectively. Sequentially measured creatinine was 69.6 (62.9, 79.0) μmol/L, 73.0 (65.0, 83.5) μmol/L, and 73.0 (65.0, 83.0) μmol/L, respectively. The sequential analysis of obesity proportion was 74.3%, 81.7%, and 76.5%, respectively, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion: Compared with the NAFLD population, the MAFLD and MASLD populations were predominantly male, obese, and had a history of smoking and drinking. The levels of γ-glutamyltransferase, uric acid, and creatinine were slightly higher, while the levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were lower. MASLD appeared in NAFLD and MAFLD on the basis of inheritance and progression, emphasizing once again the important role of metabolic factors in a fatty liver.

Abstract
The first measurement of the cross section for incoherent photonuclear production of J/ψ vector mesons as a function of the Mandelstam |t| variable is presented. The measurement was carried out with the ALICE detector at midrapidity, |y|<0.8, using ultraperipheral collisions of Pb nuclei at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. This rapidity interval corresponds to a Bjorken-x range (0.3-1.4)×10^{-3}. Cross sections are given in five |t| intervals in the range 0.04<|t|<1 GeV^{2} and compared to the predictions by different models. Models that ignore quantum fluctuations of the gluon density in the colliding hadron predict a |t| dependence of the cross section much steeper than in data. The inclusion of such fluctuations in the same models provides a better description of the data.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aims of this study were to describe the national distribution of depressive symptoms in Chinese children and adolescents, to examine the determinants of depressive symptoms at individual, school and province levels and to assess the gender and age differences in the effect of school factors on depressive symptoms. STUDY DESIGN This was a national cross-sectional study. METHODS A school-based online survey was conducted in mainland China from between December 1, 2021, and January 1, 2022. A total of 398,520 eligible participants were included in the analysis. School-level data were drawn from students, headteachers and Baidu Maps, and province-level data were obtained from the national human development report. The Patient Health Questionnaire-2 was used to measure depressive symptoms. RESULTS Areas with the highest mean scores for depressive symptoms were in the northeastern, inner central and southwestern regions of China. At the individual level, younger age, male sex, being an only child, Han ethnicity, lower body mass index, more days of exercise, less drinking and smoking behaviours, higher subjective family socio-economic status (SES) and popularity in school were related to fewer depressive symptoms; however, objective family SES and maternal education were not related to fewer depressive symptoms. The school-level variables of public status, psychological activities and psychological courses and province-level variable of higher Human Development Index were associated with fewer depressive symptoms. The effect of psychological courses and activities on depressive symptoms was greater in females. CONCLUSIONS The results showed multilevel factors related to depressive symptoms and emphasised the importance of implementing school-based psychological activities to ameliorate depressive symptoms in Chinese children and adolescents across age and gender.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nosocomial outbreaks of urinary tract infections caused by Achromobacter spp. have been rare in recent decades. AIM To identify the origin of an Achromobacter sp. outbreak, conduct multi-modal infection control measures, and finally to stop the outbreak. To this end, an epidemiological outbreak investigation and risk factor analysis were performed. METHODS Achromobacter sp. was detected in 22 patients in our urology wards and six environmental cultures of specimens obtained from the operating rooms. Strains isolated were submitted for antimicrobial susceptibility testing. An on-site epidemiological investigation, evaluation of patient medical records, and environmental sampling were performed to identify the source of the outbreak, and implementation of infection control intervention. A case-control study was performed to analyse the potential risk factors. FINDINGS Environmental sampling showed that the source of the infection for 22 patients was an ISA-IIIA-type medical pressurizer containing contaminated water. A case-control analysis showed that the risk factors for infection were: diagnosis of kidney/ureteral stones, surgery, placement of a double-J stent, and history of hospitalization in the past three months. CONCLUSION It was concluded that the outbreak occurred in patients who underwent internal lithotripsy and double-J stent placement, due to contact transmission with the contaminated sensor and connecting tubes of the ISA-IIIA-type medical pressurizer.

Abstract
This Letter presents the first study of Higgs boson production in association with a vector boson (V=W or Z) in the fully hadronic qqbb final state using data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb^{-1}. The vector bosons and Higgs bosons are each reconstructed as large-radius jets and tagged using jet substructure techniques. Dedicated tagging algorithms exploiting b-tagging properties are used to identify jets consistent with Higgs bosons decaying into bb[over ¯]. Dominant backgrounds from multijet production are determined directly from the data, and a likelihood fit to the jet mass distribution of Higgs boson candidates is used to extract the number of signal events. The VH production cross section is measured inclusively and differentially in several ranges of Higgs boson transverse momentum: 250-450, 450-650, and greater than 650 GeV. The inclusive signal yield relative to the standard model expectation is observed to be μ=1.4_{-0.9}^{+1.0} and the corresponding cross section is 3.1±1.3(stat)_{-1.4}^{+1.8}(syst) pb.

[Investigation of Anisakis infections in coastal marine fishes and awareness of anisakiasis control knowledge among residents in Yantai City in 2021]. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence of Anisakis infections in coastal marine fishes and awareness of anisakiasis control knowledge among local residents in Yantai City, Shandong Province in 2021, so as to provide insights into formulation of anisakiasis control interventions. METHODS Marine fishes were purchased from Shunxin Port, Yantai City, Shandong Province in November 2021, and the presence of Anisakis was detected in different species of fishes and different fish sites. The correlations between body length and weight of marine fish and intensity of Anisakis infections were examined using Spearman's rank correlation analysis, and the dietary habits and anisakiasis control knowledge were investigated using questionnaire surveys among local residents. RESULTS A total of 201 marine fishes belonging to 20 species were dissected, and Anisakis was detected in 77 marine fishes (38.31%) belonging to 11 species (55.00%), with a mean infection intensity of 45.04 parasites per fish (3 468/77). Spearman's rank correlation analysis revealed that the body length (rs = 0.74, P < 0.05) and weight (rs = 0.79, P < 0.01) of the monkfish correlated positively with the intensity of Anisakis infections, and the body length (rs = 0.68, P < 0.05) of the flatfish correlated positively with the intensity of Anisakis infections, while no correlations were examined between the body length or weight of other marine fishes and the intensity of Anisakis infections. Of all respondents, 53.38% men and 56.67% women did not know anisakiasis control knowledge at all, and there was a significant difference in the proportion of respondents using separate chopping boards for raw and cooked food from different villages (χ2 = 17.89, P < 0.01), while there was an age-specific proportion of respondents with habitats of eating raw or semi-raw seafood (χ2 = 28.27, P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS The prevalence and intensity of Anisakis infections were high in coastal marine fishes in Yantai City in 2021, and the awareness of anisakiasis control knowledge was low among local residents. Intensified health education pertaining to anisakiasis control knowledge is recommended to reduce the risk of Anisakis infections.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the short-term efficacy of Kamikawa anastomosis and double-tract reconstruction (DTR) after proximal gastrectomy. Methods: This was a propensity score matched, retrospective, cohort study. Inclusion criteria comprised age 20-70 years, diagnosis of gastric cancer by pathological examination of preoperative endoscopic biopsies, tumor diameter ≤4 cm, and location in the upper 1/3 of the stomach (including the gastroesophageal junction), and TNM stage IA, IB, or IIA. The study cohort comprised 73 patients who had undergone laparoscopic proximal gastric cancer radical surgery in the Department of Gastroenterology, Tangdu Hospital, Air Force Medical University between June 2020 and February 2023, 19 of whom were in the Kamikawa group and 54 in the DTR group. After using R language to match the baseline characteristics of patients in a ratio of 1:2, there were 17 patients in the Kamikawa group and 34 in the DTR group. Surgery-related conditions, postoperative quality of life, and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results: After propensity score matching, there were no statistically significant differences in baseline data between the two groups (P>0.05). Compared with the DTR group, the Kamikawa group had longer operative times (321.5±15.7 minutes vs. 296.8±26.1 minutes, t=32.056, P<0.001), longer anastomosis times (93.0±6.8 minutes vs. 45.3±7.7 minutes, t=56.303, P<0.001), and less bleeding (76 [54~103] mL vs.112 [82~148) mL, Z=71.536, P<0.001); these differences are statistically significant. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in tumor size, time to first postoperative passage of gas, postoperative hospital stay, number of lymph nodes removed, duration of lymph node dissection, or total hospitalization cost (all P>0.05). The median follow-up time was 6.1 ± 1.8 months. As to postoperative quality of life, the Kamikawa group had a lower rate of upper gastrointestinal contrast reflux than did the DTR group (0 vs. 29.4% [10/34], χ2=6.220, P=0.013); this difference is statistically significant. However, differences between the two groups in quality of life score on follow-up of 3 months and 6 months on the Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) scale were not statistically significant (all P>0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications was 2/17 in the Kamikawa group, which is significantly lower than the 41.2% (14/34) in the DTR group (χ2=4.554, P=0.033). Conclusion: Kamikawa anastomosis and DTR are equally safe and effective procedures for reconstructing the digestive tract after proximal gastric surgery. Although Kamikawa anastomosis takes slightly longer and places higher demands on the surgical team, it is more effective at preventing postoperative reflux.

Abstract
Lung cancer is the second commonly diagnosed cancer and remained the leading cause of cancer-related death, with an estimated 1.8 million deaths in 2020. The identification of driver gene mutation and administration of corresponding tyrosine kinase inhibitor have improved overall survival and quality of life in advanced lung cancer patients. Check point inhibitor has revolutionized treatment strategy of driver gene negative advanced NSCLC patients. TNM staging system is the most widely used classification method, providing an international common language during academic communication and important tool for predicting prognosis and subsequent treatment decision making. Accumulating knowledge about prognostic factors in lung cancer promotes the update of TNM classification. In the World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) held in Singapore, September, 2023, International Association for Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) released the forthcoming 9th edition of TNM classification for lung cancer, which is supposed to be adopted at January, 2024. The manuscript discussed the history, data resource and limitation of the TNM staging system.

Abstract
ATLAS measured the centrality dependence of the dijet yield using 165 nb^{-1} of p+Pb data collected at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16 TeV in 2016. The event centrality, which reflects the p+Pb impact parameter, is characterized by the total transverse energy registered in the Pb-going side of the forward calorimeter. The central-to-peripheral ratio of the scaled dijet yields, R_{CP}, is evaluated, and the results are presented as a function of variables that reflect the kinematics of the initial hard parton scattering process. The R_{CP} shows a scaling with the Bjorken x of the parton originating from the proton, x_{p}, while no such trend is observed as a function of x_{Pb}. This analysis provides unique input to understanding the role of small proton spatial configurations in p+Pb collisions by covering parton momentum fractions from the valence region down to x_{p}∼10^{-3} and x_{Pb}∼4×10^{-4}.

Abstract
This study investigated the possibility of sodium carboxymethyl celluloses (Na-CMC) in protecting the viability of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) against freeze-drying stress. 1 % concentration of Na-CMC with a 0.7 substitution degree and viscosity of 1500 to 3100 (MPa.s) was found to protect Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus CICC 6098 best, giving a high survival rate of 23.19 ± 0.88 %, high key enzymatic activities, and 28-day storage stability. Additionally, Na-CMC as cryoprotectant provided good protection for other 7 lactic acid bacterial strains subjected to freeze-drying. The highest survival rate was 48.79 ± 0.20 U/mg for β-GAL, 2.75 ± 0.15 U/mg for Na+-K+-ATPase, and 2.73 ± 0.41 U/mg for Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase as 48.48 ± 0.46 % for freeze-dried Pediococcus pentosaceus CICC 22228. It was Interesting to note that the presence of Na-CMC reduced the freezable water content of the lyophilized powders containing the tested strains through its hydroxyl group, and supplied micro-holes and fibers for protecting the integrated structure of LAB cell membrane and wall against the freezing damage. It is clear that addition of Na-CMC should be promising as a new cryoprotective agent available for processing the lyophilized stater cultures of LAB strains.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological factors and clinical significance of (micro)metastasis in No.12b lymph node in patients with gastric antrum cancer. Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of data of 242 patients with gastric adenocarcinoma without distant metastasis, complete follow-up data, and no preoperative anti-tumor therapy or history of other malignancies. All study patients had undergone radical gastrectomy (at least D2 radical range) + No.12b lymph node dissection in the Department of Gastric Surgery of Liaoning Cancer Hospital from January 2007 to December 2012. Immunohistochemical staining with antibody CK8/18 was used to detect micrometastasis to lymph nodes. Patients with positive findings on hematoxylin and eosin stained specimens and/or CK8/18 positivity in No.12b lymph node were diagnosed as having No.12b (micro)metastasis and included in the No.12b positive group. All other patients were classified as 12b negative. We investigated the impact of No.12b (micro)metastasis by comparing the clinicopathological characteristics and recurrence free survival (RFS) of these two groups of patients and subjecting possible risk factors to statistical analysis. Results: Traditional hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that 15/242 patients were positive for No.12b lymph nodes and 227 were negative. A total of 241 negative No. 12b lymph nodes were detected. Immunohistochemical testing revealed that seven of these 241 No.12b lymph nodes (2.9%) were positive for micrometastasis. A further seven positive nodes were identified among the 227 nodes (3.1%) that had been evaluated as negative on hematoxylin-eosin-stained sections. Thus, 22 /242 patients' (9.1%) No.12b nodes were positive for micrometastases, the remaining 220 (90.9%) being negative. Factor analysis showed that No.12b lymph node (micro) metastasis is associated with more severe invasion of the gastric serosa (HR=3.873, 95%CI: 1.676-21.643, P=0.006), T3 stage (HR=1.615, 95%CI: 1.113-1.867, P=0.045), higher N stage (HR=1.768, 95%CI: 1.187-5.654, P=0.019), phase III of TNM stage (HR=2.129, 95%CI: 1.102-3.475, P=0.046), and lymph node metastasis in the No.1/No.8a/No.12a groups (HR=0.451, 95%CI: 0.121-0.552, P=0.035; HR=0.645, 95%CI:0.071-0.886, P=0.032; HR=1.512, 95%CI: 1.381-2.100, P=0.029, respectively). Survival analysis showed that the 5-year RFS of patients in the No.12b positive group was worse than that of those in the No.12b negative group (18.2% vs. 34.5%, P<0.001). Independent predictors of RFS were poorer differentiation of the primary tumor (HR=0.528, 95%CI:0.288-0.969, P=0.039), more severe serous invasion (HR=1.262, 95%CI:1.039-1.534, P=0.019), higher T/N/TNM stage (HR=4.880, 95%CI: 1.909-12.476, P<0.001; HR=2.332, 95%CI: 1.640-3.317, P<0.001; HR=0.139, 95%CI: 0.027-0.713, P=0.018, respectively), and lymph node metastasis in the No.12a/No.12b group(HR=0.698, 95%CI:0.518-0.941, P=0.018; HR=0.341, 95%CI:0.154-0.758,P=0.008, respectively). Conclusion: Detection of micrometastasis can improve the rate of positive lymph nodes. In patients with gastric antrum cancer, dissection of group No.12b lymph nodes may improve the prognosis of those with intraoperative evidence of tumor invasion into the serosa, more than two lymph node metastases, and suspicious lymph nodes in groups No.1 / No.8a / 12a.

Abstract
Searches for new resonances are performed using an unsupervised anomaly-detection technique. Events with at least one electron or muon are selected from 140 fb^{-1} of pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded by ATLAS at the Large Hadron Collider. The approach involves training an autoencoder on data, and subsequently defining anomalous regions based on the reconstruction loss of the decoder. Studies focus on nine invariant mass spectra that contain pairs of objects consisting of one light jet or b jet and either one lepton (e,μ), photon, or second light jet or b jet in the anomalous regions. No significant deviations from the background hypotheses are observed. Limits on contributions from generic Gaussian signals with various widths of the resonance mass are obtained for nine invariant masses in the anomalous regions.

Abstract
The aim of our present study was to investigate the effects of Gln supplementation on liver inflammatory responses as well as protein synthesis and degradation in the muscle of LPS-challenged broilers. A total of 120 one-day-old male broiler chickens (Arbor Acres Plus) were randomly arranged in a 2 × 2 factorial design with five replicates per treatment and six broilers per replicate, containing two main factors: immune challenge (injected with LPS in a dose of 0 or 500 µg/kg of body weight) and dietary treatments (supplemented with 1.22% alanine or 1% Gln). After feeding with an alanine or Gln diet for 15 days, broilers were administrated an LPS or a saline injection at 16 and 21 days. The results showed that Gln supplementation alleviated the increased mRNA expressions of interleukin-6, interleukin-1β, and tumor necrosis factor-α induced by LPS in liver. Moreover, the increased activity of aspartate aminotransferase combined with the decreased expression of glutaminase in muscle were observed following Gln addition. In addition, in comparison with the saline treatment, LPS challenge altered the signaling molecules' mRNA expressions associated with protein synthesis and degradation. However, Gln supplementation reversed the negative effects on protein synthesis and degradation in muscle of LPS-challenged broilers. Taken together, Gln supplementation had beneficial effects: alleviating inflammatory responses, promoting protein synthesis, and inhibiting protein degradation of LPS-challenged broilers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive human malignancies. Previous research has shown that periostin (POSTN) promotes pancreatic cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Further, POSTN is involved in tumor microenvironment remodeling during tumor progression. However, the relationship between POSTN expression, immune cell infiltration, and the efficacy of immunotherapy in pancreatic cancer is unclear. METHODS We conducted a comprehensive evaluation of POSTN differential expression, examining mRNA and protein levels. To gather data, we utilized various databases including gene expression profiling interactive analysis 2 (GEPIA2), gene expression omnibus (GEO), and the human protein atlas (HPA). To investigate the correlation between POSTN expression and clinical characteristics, we analyzed data from the Kaplan-Meier plotter database and clinical data sourced from the cancer genome atlas (TCGA). Furthermore, we performed gene ontology (GO) analysis, Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis, and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA). Additionally, we explored the relationship between POSTN expression and immune cell infiltration, as well as the immunophenoscore (IPS), by leveraging the cancer immunome atlas (TCIA) database. Lastly, we examined the tumor mutational burden (TMB) in pancreatic cancer in relation to POSTN expression. RESULTS When compared with healthy pancreatic tissues, pancreatic cancer tissues displayed significantly higher levels of POSTN, which was indicative of a worse prognosis. POSTN expression was closely associated with extracellular matrix (ECM) organization, ECM-receptor interaction, and focal adhesion by GO, KEGG pathway, and GSEA analyses. Higher expression of POSTN was associated with increased infiltration of M2 macrophages. Additionally, increased IPS was linked to lower POSTN expression. IPS scores for CTLA4, PD-1/PDL1, and CTLA4/PD-1/PDL1 immune checkpoint inhibitors were also higher in the POSTN-low expression group, suggesting that lower expression of POSTN is associated with a better outcome with checkpoint inhibitor treatment. CONCLUSION POSTN is related to pancreatic cancer prognosis, and may influence immune cell infiltration. High expression of POSTN is predicted to correlate with lower sensitivity to immunotherapy with checkpoint inhibitors in pancreatic cancer.

Abstract
Improving the yield of polysaccharides extracted from Schisandra sphenanthera is a major challenge in traditional Chinese medicinal plants. In this study, we investigated the potential of Lactobacillus plantarum CICC 23121-assisted fermentation as an extraction tool for S. sphenanthera polysaccharides (SSP). We observed that 11.12 ± 0.28 % of polysaccharides were extracted from S. sphenanthera using strain CICC 23121 -assisted fermentation (F-SSP), which was 53.38 % higher than that using hot water extraction (NF-SSP). The optimized parameters were a fermentation time of 15.5 h, substrate concentration of 4 %, and inoculum size of 3 %. Lactic acid produced by strain CICC 23121 increased the release of intracellular polysaccharides by breaking down cell walls. Compared to NF-SSP, F-SSP contained higher and lower total carbohydrate and protein contents, respectively, and its monosaccharide composition was the same as that of NF-SSP; however, their distributions were different. F-SSP had a higher molecular weight, better aqueous stability, and looser surface morphology, and strain CICC 23121-assisted fermentation did not change the molecular structure of SSP. Both NF-SSP and F-SSP showed the potential to regulate human intestinal microflora. Our findings revealed that strain CICC 23121-assisted fermentation is an efficient method for extracting S. sphenanthera polysaccharides without affecting their physicochemical and bioactive properties.

Abstract
Brassinazole resistant (BZR) genes act downstream of the brassinosteroid signaling pathway regulating plant growth and development and participating in plant stress responses. However, the BZR gene family has not systematically been characterized in potato. We identified eight BZR genes in Solanum tuberosum, which were distributed among seven chromosomes unequally and were classified into three subgroups. Potato and tomato BZR proteins were shown to be closely related with high levels of similarity. The BZR gene family members in each subgroup contained similar conserved motifs. StBZR genes exhibited tissue-specific expression patterns, suggesting their functional differentiation during evolution. StBZR4, StBZR7, and StBZR8 were highly expressed under white light in microtubers. StBZR1 showed a progressive up-regulation from 0 to 6 h and a progressive down-regulation from 6 to 24 h after drought and salt stress. StBZR1, StBZR2, StBZR4, StBZR5, StBZR6, StBZR7 and StBZR8 were significantly induced from 0 to 3 h under BR treatment. This implied StBZR genes are involved in phytohormone and stress response signaling pathways. Our results provide a theoretical basis for understanding the functional mechanisms of BZR genes in potato.

Abstract
PURPOSE Autoimmune Thyroiditis (AIT) is the most common thyroid disease; however, there were no measures to prevent the progression of the disease. The present study attempts to identify that Notch signaling regulates the differentiation of T helper 17 (Th17) cells by activating downstream Phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase/protein kinase/mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (PI3K/AKT/mTORC1) pathway participating in the thyroid injury of the experimental autoimmune thyroiditis (EAT). METHODS In vivo experiments, mice were randomly divided into 4 groups: a control group, an EAT group, and two groups with LY294002 treatment (pTg plus 25 mg/kg or 50 mg/kg LY294002, respectively). The degrees of thyroiditis were evaluated, and the percentage of Th17 cells, expression of interleukin-17A (IL-17A), and the main components of the Notch-PI3K signaling pathway were detected in different groups. In vitro experiments, two different dosages of LY294002 (25 and 50 μM) were used to intervene splenic mononuclear cells (SMCs) from EAT mice to further evaluate the regulatory effect of Notch-PI3K pathway on Th17 cells. RESULTS Our data demonstrate that the infiltration of Th17 cells and the expressions of IL-17A, Notch, hairy and split 1 (Hes1), p‑AKT (Ser473), p‑AKT (Thr308), p‑mTOR (Ser2448), S6K1, and S6K2 increased remarkably in EAT mice. After PI3K pathway was blocked, the degrees of thyroiditis were significantly alleviated, and the proportion of Th17 cells, the expression of IL-17A, and the above Notch-PI3K pathway-related molecules decreased in a dose-dependent manner. Additionally, the proportion of Th17 cells was positively correlated with the concentration of serum thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb), IL-17A, and Notch-PI3K pathway-related molecules mRNA levels. CONCLUSIONS Notch signal promotes the secretion of IL-17A from Th17 cells by regulating the downstream PI3K/AKT/mTORC1 pathway through Hes-Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) and participates in thyroid autoimmune damage, and the PI3K pathway inhibitor may play important effects on AIT by affecting Th17 cells differentiation.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WZγ production and a measurement of its cross section using 140.1±1.2 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The WZγ production cross section, with both the W and Z bosons decaying leptonically, pp→WZγ→ℓ^{'}^{±}νℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}γ (ℓ^{(^{'})}=e, μ), is measured in a fiducial phase-space region defined such that the leptons and the photon have high transverse momentum and the photon is isolated. The cross section is found to be 2.01±0.30(stat)±0.16(syst) fb. The corresponding standard model predicted cross section calculated at next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and at leading order in the electroweak coupling constant is 1.50±0.06 fb. The observed significance of the WZγ signal is 6.3σ, compared with an expected significance of 5.0σ.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the symbiosis between Streptococcus thermophilus CICC 6038 and Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. bulgaricus CICC 6047. In addition, the effect of their different inoculum ratios was determined, and comparison experiments of fermentation characteristics and storage stability of milk fermented by their monocultures and cocultures at optimal inoculum ratio were performed. We found the time to obtain pH 4.6 and ΔpH during storage varied among 6 inoculum ratios (1:1, 2:1, 10:1, 19:1, 50:1, 100:1). By the statistical model to evaluate the optimal ratio, the ratio of 19:1 was selected, which exhibited high acidification rate and low postacidification with pH values remaining between 4.2 and 4.4 after a 50-d storage. Among the 3 groups included in our analyses (i.e., the monocultures of S. thermophilus CICC 6038 [St] and Lb. bulgaricus CICC 6047 [Lb] and their cocultures [St+Lb] at 19:1), the coculture group showed higher acidification activity, improved rheological properties, richer typical volatile compounds, more desirable sensor quality after the fermentation process than the other 2 groups. However, the continuous accumulation of acetic acid during storage showed that acetic acid was more highly correlated with postacidification than d-lactic acid for the Lb group and St+Lb group. Our study emphasized the importance of selecting an appropriate bacterial consortium at the optimal inoculum ratio to achieve favorable fermentation performance and enhanced postacidification stability during storage.

Abstract
Biomaterials encounter considerable challenges in extensive bone defect regeneration. The amelioration of outcomes may be attainable through the orchestrated modulation of both innate and adaptive immunity. Silicon-hydroxyapatite, for instance, which solely focuses on regulating innate immunity, is inadequate for long-term bone regeneration. Herein, extra manganese (Mn)-doping is utilized for enhancing the osteogenic ability by mediating adaptive immunity. Intriguingly, Mn-doping engenders heightened recruitment of CD4+ T cells to the bone defect site, concurrently manifesting escalated T helper (Th) 2 polarization and an abatement in Th1 cell polarization. This consequential immune milieu yields a collaborative elevation of interleukin 4, secreted by Th2 cells, coupled with attenuated interferon gamma, secreted by Th1 cells. This orchestrated interplay distinctly fosters the osteogenesis of bone marrow stromal cells and effectuates consequential regeneration of the mandibular bone defect. The modulatory mechanism of Th1/Th2 balance lies primarily in the indispensable role of manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) and the phosphorylation of adenosine 5'-monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK). In conclusion, this study highlights the transformative potential of Mn-doping in amplifying the osteogenic efficacy of silicon-hydroxyapatite nanowires by regulating T cell-mediated adaptive immunity via the MnSOD/AMPK pathway, thereby creating an anti-inflammatory milieu favorable for bone regeneration.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cognitive reserve (CR) shows protective effects on cognitive function in older adult and in Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the brain mechanisms underlying the CR effect on the non-dementia AD spectrum (subjective cognitive decline (SCD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI)) are unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential moderate effect of CR on brain functional networks associated with cognitive performance. METHODS We selected 200 participants, including 48 cognitively normal (CN) and 56 SCD, and 96 patients with MCI from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). Seed-based locus coeruleus functional connectivity (LC FC) was conducted to detect early brain functional changes in the non-dementia AD spectrum. CR was assessed via years of education and intelligence (IQ). The ANDI composite executive function scores (ADNI-EF) and ADNI composite memory scores (ANDI-MEM) at baseline and 24-month follow-up were used to assess cognitive performance. RESULTS Compared to the CN group, the SCD group showed abnormal LC FC with the executive control network (dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, DLPFC), salience network, sensorimotor network, reward network, and hippocampus, while these alterations were inverted at the MCI stage. The LC-hippocampus FC was correlated with ADNI-MEM at baseline and follow-up, and these relationships were moderated by education. The LC-DLPFC FC was correlated with ADNI-EF at baseline, and this association was moderated by IQ. CONCLUSION Our results manifested that higher levels of CR would confer protective effects on SCD and MCI. Furthermore, IQ and education could moderate the relationship between LC FC and cognition through different pathways.

Abstract
Because of the impact of petroleum-based polymers on environmental deterioration and the need for safe, efficient, and functional packaging films, a sodium alginate (SA)-based film incorporating a Schisandra chinensis extract (SCE)-natamycin (NA) complex was developed for the desired physical and functional properties. The incorporation of SCE-NA into SA-based films decreased the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), moisture content (MC), and hydrophilicity of the films and improved their opacity, elongation at break (EAB), and thermal stability. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analyses showed that SA, SCE, and NA had positive interactions and compatibility. In addition, the antimicrobial activity analysis indicated that the SA-SCE-NA film-forming solutions had satisfactory antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Aspergillus niger. SA-based composite films have been used to coat cucumbers and blueberries to extend their shelf life. Compared to the neat SA film, the shelf life of cucumbers treated with the SA-SCE-NA film increased by 6 days compared to that in the untreated group at 28 °C, and the shelf life of blueberries increased by 5 days at 4 °C, revealing its potential utilization in food packaging.

Abstract
This study explored the physicochemical properties and prebiotic activities of glucans and oligoglucans. Oligoglucans were obtained through the fermentation of Leuconostoc mesenteroides CICC6055 and the glucansucrase of strain CICC6055, while glucans were obtained only through fermentation. Thin-layer chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography identified enzymatically synthesized oligoglucans with a higher yield. Differential scanning calorimetry and derivative thermogravimetry analyses revealed the heat resistance of the glucans and oligoglucans at 280-300 °C. Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance analyses demonstrated that their main chains were linked with α-1,6-glycosidic bonds accompanied by glucose residue branching. In vitro fermentation experiments demonstrated that they not only improved the contents of short-chain fatty acids but also raised the abundance of predominant flora, such as Bacteroides, Firmicutes, Verrucomicrobia, and Proteobacteria. These results implicate glucansucrase as an efficacious tool for the enzyme synthesis of oligoglucans. Furthermore, both polysaccharides with different degrees of polymerization may be beneficial in maintaining a healthy human gut.

Abstract
A measurement of the mass of the Higgs boson combining the H→ZZ^{*}→4ℓ and H→γγ decay channels is presented. The result is based on 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector during LHC run 2 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV combined with the run 1 ATLAS mass measurement, performed at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, yielding a Higgs boson mass of 125.11±0.09(stat)±0.06(syst)=125.11±0.11 GeV. This corresponds to a 0.09% precision achieved on this fundamental parameter of the Standard Model of particle physics.

Abstract
A search for events with a dark photon produced in association with a dark Higgs boson via rare decays of the standard model Z boson is presented, using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The dark boson decays into a pair of dark photons, and at least two of the three dark photons must each decay into a pair of electrons or muons, resulting in at least two same-flavor opposite-charge lepton pairs in the final state. The data are found to be consistent with the background prediction, and upper limits are set on the dark photon's coupling to the dark Higgs boson times the kinetic mixing between the standard model photon and the dark photon, α_{D}ϵ^{2}, in the dark photon mass range of [5, 40] GeV except for the ϒ mass window [8.8, 11.1] GeV. This search explores new parameter space not previously excluded by other experiments.

Abstract
Understanding the role of parton mass and Casimir color factors in the quantum chromodynamics parton shower represents an important step in characterizing the emission properties of heavy quarks. Recent experimental advances in jet substructure techniques have provided the opportunity to isolate and characterize gluon emissions from heavy quarks. In this Letter, the first direct experimental constraint on the charm-quark splitting function is presented, obtained via the measurement of the groomed shared momentum fraction of the first splitting in charm jets, tagged by a reconstructed D^{0} meson. The measurement is made in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, in the low jet transverse-momentum interval of 15≤p_{T}^{jet ch}<30 GeV/c where the emission properties are sensitive to parton mass effects. In addition, the opening angle of the first perturbative emission of the charm quark, as well as the number of perturbative emissions it undergoes, is reported. Comparisons to measurements of an inclusive-jet sample show a steeper splitting function for charm quarks compared with gluons and light quarks. Charm quarks also undergo fewer perturbative emissions in the parton shower, with a reduced probability of large-angle emissions.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of single top quarks produced together with a photon, which directly probes the electroweak coupling of the top quark. The analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of 13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Requiring a photon with transverse momentum larger than 20 GeV and within the detector acceptance, the fiducial cross section is measured to be 688±23(stat) _{-71}^{+75}(syst) fb, to be compared with the standard model prediction of 515_{-42}^{+36} fb at next-to-leading order in QCD.

Abstract
Persimmon is a fruit that contains sugars, vitamins, phenolic compounds, and various other nutrients. The aim of this study was to explore the structure of carboxymethylated persimmon polysaccharide (CM-PFP) and its interaction with the human gut microbiota. Carboxymethyl modification of the persimmon polysaccharide (PFP) increased both the Mw and Mn, enhanced dispersion stability, and decreased thermal stability. Both PFP and CM-PFP promoted the proliferation of Lactobacillus while inhibiting the proliferation of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. In the simulated fecal fermentation, the pH of PFP- and CM-PFP-containing media decreased, the content of short-chain fatty acids increased, and the abundance of intestinal flora at the phylum and genus levels changed. The relative abundance of harmful intestinal bacteria was significantly reduced in both PFP and CM-PFP groups. Furthermore, it was found that CM-PFP was more easily metabolized than PFP, glucose, and fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) and had a proliferation increase effect on Lactobacillus. Therefore, CM-PFP has a significant positive effect on both Lactobacillus proliferation and the human gut microbiota.

This letter presents a measurement of the nuclear modification factor of large-radius jets in sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV Pb+Pb collisions by the ATLAS experiment. The measurement is performed using 1.72 nb^{-1} and 257 pb^{-1} of Pb+Pb and pp data, respectively. Abstract
The clinical and molecular genetic data of 6 patients with genetically confirmed tyrosine hydroxylase deficiency(THD) diagnosed in Department of Neurology, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University from March 2017 to February 2022 were retrospectively collected and analyzed. The 6 patients were from 5 families. Among them, 5 patients had persistent or paroxysmal abnormal walking posture, 4 patients had dystonia of head and face, including spasm of perioral and oculopharyngeal muscles, hyperactivity, and binocular upvision, 4 patients showed obvious morning light and evening heavy phenomenon, 2 patients had postural tremor of limbs, 2 patients had psychomotor retardation from childhood, 1 patient only had limb and cervical muscle weakness, 1 patient had epileptic seizures. Of the 6 patients, only 1 was adult-onset, and the rest were child-onset. Four patients had good response to low-dose dopa preparation, 2 patients from the same family had poor response to dopamine treatment, requiring extremely low dose initiation and multi-frequency titration treatment. However, the long-term treatment effect was poor with obvious abnormalities. Gene testing of 5 families revealed 8 mutations in the TH gene, with c.698G>A (p.R233H) being the hot spot mutation site. The clinical manifestations of THD are complex. Besides paroxysmal or persistent dystonia, it can also be accompanied by eye movement crisis, muscle weakness, epilepsy, and delayed mental and motor development. Most patients respond well to low-dose dopamine preparations, but a small number of patients require titration treatment with extremely low-dose dopamine preparations, and the long-term effect is not satisfactory.

Abstract
A key open question in the study of multiparticle production in high-energy pp collisions is the relationship between the "ridge"-i.e., the observed azimuthal correlations between particles in the underlying event that extend over all rapidities-and hard or semihard scattering processes. In particular, it is not known whether jets or their soft fragments are correlated with particles in the underlying event. To address this question, two-particle correlations are measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, with an integrated luminosity of 15.8 pb^{-1}, in two different configurations. In the first case, charged particles associated with jets are excluded from the correlation analysis, while in the second case, correlations are measured between particles within jets and charged particles from the underlying event. Second-order flow coefficients, v_{2}, are presented as a function of event multiplicity and transverse momentum. These measurements show that excluding particles associated with jets does not affect the measured correlations. Moreover, particles associated with jets do not exhibit any significant azimuthal correlations with the underlying event, ruling out hard processes contributing to the ridge.

Abstract
A search is made for potential ccc[over ¯]c[over ¯] tetraquarks decaying into a pair of charmonium states in the four muon final state using proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS experiment at LHC. Two decay channels, J/ψ+J/ψ→4μ and J/ψ+ψ(2S)→4μ, are studied. Backgrounds are estimated based on a hybrid approach involving Monte Carlo simulations and data-driven methods. Statistically significant excesses with respect to backgrounds dominated by the single parton scattering are seen in the di-J/ψ channel consistent with a narrow resonance at 6.9 GeV and a broader structure at lower mass. A statistically significant excess is also seen in the J/ψ+ψ(2S) channel. The fitted masses and decay widths of the structures are reported.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of τ-lepton-pair production in ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions Pb+Pb→Pb(γγ→ττ)Pb and constraints on the τ-lepton anomalous magnetic moment a_{τ}. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.44 nb^{-1} of LHC Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment in 2018. Selected events contain one muon from a τ-lepton decay, an electron or charged-particle track(s) from the other τ-lepton decay, little additional central-detector activity, and no forward neutrons. The γγ→ττ process is observed in Pb+Pb collisions with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations and a signal strength of μ_{ττ}=1.03_{-0.05}^{+0.06} assuming the standard model value for a_{τ}. To measure a_{τ}, a template fit to the muon transverse-momentum distribution from τ-lepton candidates is performed, using a dimuon (γγ→μμ) control sample to constrain systematic uncertainties. The observed 95% confidence-level interval for a_{τ} is -0.057

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) There is limited outcome data specific to breast cancer spinal metastases following spine SBRT. This study aims to report outcomes specific to breast cancer spinal metastases receiving spine SBRT and determine the implication of biomarker status. MATERIALS/METHODS We have been maintaining a prospective database since the inception of the spine SBRT program. A retrospective review identified 168 breast cancer patients with 409 spinal segments treated with spine SBRT between January 2008 and January 2023. Molecular subtypes were grouped based on luminal A, luminal B, basal, and HER2 enriched. Patients were followed with q3-monthly full-spine MRI and a clinical assessment. The primary endpoint was MRI-based local failure (LF), and secondary endpoints were overall survival (OS) and vertebral compression fracture (VCF). RESULTS The median follow-up was 33 months (range, 3.3-123 months). Amongst the 168 patients, the majority were ECOG 0 or 1 (95%), neurologically intact (94%), polymetastatic (74%), and either luminal A (71%) or luminal B (8%). A total of 17% of patients were HER2+ve versus 83% HER2-ve. Of 409 treated segments the majority (76%) had no prior radiation or surgery (de novo), were SINS stable (60%), had either no or low-grade epidural disease (86%) and treated with 24-28 Gy in 2 fractions (73%). The LF and OS rates at 1, 3, and 5 years were 5%, 11%, and 14%, respectively, and 91%, 65%, and 45%, respectively, independent of molecular subtype on univariate analyses. The cumulative risk of VCF at 2 and 5 years was 7% and 10%, respectively. CONCLUSION We observe, in the largest breast cancer spine cohort to date, excellent long-term local control rates independent of molecular sub-group, and acceptable VCF rates.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Spine stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) results in improved local control and pain response compared to conventional external beam radiotherapy. Consensus stipulates MRI-based delineation of the clinical target volume (CTV) is critical and is based on spine segment sector involvement. The applicability of these contouring guidelines to metastases confined to the posterior elements is unknown. The purpose of this study was to determine the patterns of failure, as well as the safety of treating posterior element metastases when the vertebral body was intentionally excluded from the CTV. MATERIALS/METHODS A retrospective review of a prospectively maintained database of 605 patients and 1412 spine segments treated with spine SBRT was performed. Only treated segments involving the posterior elements alone were included for the analyses. The primary outcome was local failure, as per SPINO recommendations, and secondary outcomes included patterns of failure, toxicities. Clinical and tumor factors were reported with descriptive statistics. The cumulative risk of local failure was estimated using the Fine-Gray method, accounting for death before local failure as a competing risk. RESULTS A total of 24/605 patients and 31/1412 segments within the database were treated to the posterior elements only. Local failure occurred in 11/31 segments. The cumulative rate of local recurrence was 9.7% at 12 months and 30.8% at 24 months. Amongst local failures, the most common histologies were renal cell carcinoma (36.4%) and non-small cell lung cancer (36.4%). At baseline, 4/11 (36.4%) segments with local failure (36.4%) had epidural disease and 8/11 (72.7%) had paraspinal disease. Most local failures were treated in the de novo setting (8/11, 72.7%). 6/11 (54.5%) failed exclusively within treated CTV sectors and 5/11 (45.5%) with both treated and adjacent untreated sectors. Of these five, four had disease progression within the untreated vertebral body. No failures occurred exclusively within the untreated vertebral body. One patient (4.2%) experienced a grade 4 skin toxicity and one patient (4.2%) developed an iatrogenic Grade 1 vertebral compression fracture. CONCLUSION Posterior element alone metastases are rare. Our analyses support SBRT consensus contouring guidelines such that the vertebral body can be excluded from CTV in spinal metastases confined to the posterior elements.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) We report outcomes specific to a novel 3 fraction (frx) staged stereotactic radiosurgery (St-SRS) regimen designed to salvage metastases previously irradiated and considered to be at high risk of radiation necrosis (RN). MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 24 patients with 55 metastases treated with our 3 frx St-SRS approach were reviewed. Prior to each frx, patients were re-simulated and planned with a new MRI to allow for treatment adaption. The primary endpoint was the cumulative incidence of local failure (LF) and secondary endpoints included tumor dynamics and RN rates. RESULTS The median follow up was 9.0 months (range: 2.7-40.1 months) and median age was 59-years (range: 32-84). Primary cancers were of breast (44%), lung (33%), melanoma (22%), and gastro-intestinal (1%) origin. Individual metastases treated with St-SRS had initially failed surgery and post-op cavity hypofractionated SRS (HSRS) for 2/55 (4%), SRS alone for 19/55 (34%), whole brain radiation (WBRT) alone for 6/55 (11%), HSRS for 2/55 (4%), and prior SRS and WBRT exposure for 28/55 (51%). 46/55 (84%) were prescribed 8 Gy, 8 Gy, 4 Gy; 8/55 (14%) had 6 Gy, 6 Gy, 4 Gy and 1/55 (2%) had 8 Gy, 8 Gy, 6 Gy. The median number of weeks between frx was 2.6 (range: 1.0-6.8). The median of the mean and maximum target doses were 9.7 Gy (range: 5.4-11.7 Gy) and 12.4 Gy (range, 7.5-16.0 Gy) respectively. The median prescription isodose line was 62% (range: 50-85%). The mean lesion volume and diameter was 3.8cc (range: 0.05-24.8cc) and 1.6cm (range: 0.2-4.4cm), respectively. The mean percent target volume coverage, Paddick Conformality Index and Gradient Index were 100% (range: 97-100%), 0.7 (range: 0.1-0.9), and 3.2 (range: 2.5-6.7), respectively. The mean volume change between staged frxs was -4.2% (range: -69.3 to +63.1%), and based on the first and last St-SRS MRI was -10.8% (range: -86.6% to +68.7%). The crude LF rate was 27%. The median time to LF was 3.4 months (range: 1.2-7.4 months). Amongst those with a LF, 7/15 (46%) were melanoma, 6/15 (40%) HER2 positive breast cancer, 1/15 (7%) gastrointestinal and 1/15 (7%) non-small cell lung carcinoma. 8/15 (53%) had prior WBRT and SRS exposure, 1/16 (7%) surgery and cavity HSRS, 5/15 (33%) SRS alone and 1/15 (7%) WBRT alone. Only asymptomatic RN events were observed in 4/55 (7%). CONCLUSION St-SRS is a promising approach to salvage previously irradiated brain metastases, including prior SRS, with a favorable rate of RN. Tumor volume dynamics between stages can be significant warranting adaptive replanning.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) We report outcomes after spine stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), to determine the significance of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) status and epidermal growth factor (EGFR) mutation on local failure (LF) rate. MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 165 patients and 389 spinal segments were retrospectively reviewed from 2009 to 2021. Baseline patient characteristics, treatment and outcomes were abstracted. Primary endpoint was LF and secondary outcomes included overall survival (OS) and vertebral compression fracture (VCF) rates. OS was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Cumulative LF and VCF rates were calculated using competing risk analysis method. Multivariable analysis (MVA) evaluated factors predictive of LF and VCF. RESULTS Median follow-up was 13 months (range, 0.5-95 months). Median OS was 18.4 months (95% CI 11.4-24.6). Median age was 67 years (range, 28.2-89.9). 52% were female, 76% had an adenocarcinoma histology and 61% had a smoking history. 49/165 (29%) had an EGFR mutation. PD-L1 status was analyzed in 109/165 (66%) patients with 16% PD-L1 ≥ 50%, 20% PD-L1 1-49% and 35% PD-L1 <1%. Of 389 segments, 79% were de novo and 21% were previously radiated. At baseline, 35% had a VCF, 27% had epidural disease, 27% had paraspinal extension, and 49% were Spinal Instability in Neoplasia Score (SINS) stable. 239/389 (61%) were treated with either 24 or 28 Gy in 2 SBRT fractions. Within 1 month of SBRT, 39/165 (24%) had a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, 27/165 (16%) immunotherapy (IO) with or without chemotherapy, and 31/165 (19%) chemotherapy alone. LF cumulative incidence at 1- and 2-years was 16.3% (95% CI 12.8-20.3%) and 25.4% (95% CI 20.9%-30%), respectively. EGFR positivity (p<0.0001), PD-L1≥50% (p = 0.013) and treatment with IO within 1 month of SBRT (p = 0.004) predicted for improved local control on MVA. The 1- and 2-year LF rate in EGFR-positive vs. negative patients were 12.9% vs. 16.6% and 17.7% vs. 28.8%, respectively, and in those PD-L1 ≥50% vs PD-L1<50% were 7.8% vs. 19.6% and 7.8% vs. 38.1% respectively. Cumulative incidence of VCF at 1- and 2-years were 6.6% (95% CI 4.4-9.4%) and 8.8% (95% CI 6.1-12.0%). MVA identified prior SBRT to the same treated segment (P<0.0001) and a baseline VCF (p<0.0001) as significant predictors. 18/389 (4.6%) had radiation-induced radiculopathy and no radiation myelopathy events detected. CONCLUSION We identify the predictive utility of EGFR mutation and PD-L1 ≥50% status on local control in NSCLC patients with spinal metastases treated with spine SBRT, and a therapeutic benefit with peri-SBRT IO.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) A international consensus recommendation was published to guide target volume delineation specific to sacral stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). We report outcomes after sacrum SBRT, focusing on the impact of contouring deviation on local failure (LF) risk, with an aim to validate this guideline. MATERIALS/METHODS All patients who underwent SBRT to any level between S1 and S5 from 2010 to 2021 were identified from a prospectively maintained institutional database. The primary outcome was magnetic resonance-based LF. Secondary outcomes included vertebral compression fracture (VCF) and overall survival (OS). Cumulative LF and VCF rates were calculated per segment using the competing risk analysis method. Kaplan Meier analysis was used to estimate OS per patient. Cox proportional hazards model was used to assess predictive factors of LF, VCF, and OS. RESULTS A total of 215 treated sacral segments in 112 patients were retrospectively reviewed. The median follow-up was 13 months (range, 0.4-116.9). The median age was 64 years (range, 18-86), and 56% were male. Most patients (52%) had treatment to a single segment. The median clinical target volume (CTV) was 129.2 cc (range, 5.8-753.5). Most segments were treated with 30 Gy/4 fractions (51%), 24 Gy/2 fractions (31%), or 30 Gy/5 fractions (10%). Thirty-one percent of segments were of radioresistant histology (gastrointestinal, kidney, melanoma, sarcoma, or thyroid primary), and 51% had extraosseous disease. Sixteen percent of segments were under-contoured per consensus guidelines, with incomplete coverage of the involved sector (71%), omission of the adjacent uninvolved sector (17%), or both (11%) as the causes for deviation. The cumulative incidence of LF was 18.4% (95% CI 13.5-24.0) at 12-months and 23.1% (95% CI 17.6-29.0) at 24-months. On multivariate analysis (MVA), under-contouring (HR 2.4, 95% CI 1.3-4.7, p = 0.008), radioresistant histology (HR 2.4, 95% CI 1,4-4.1, p = 0.001), and extraosseous extension (HR 2.5, 95% CI 1.3-4.7, p = 0.005) were predictors of increased risk of LF. The LF rates at 12/24-months were 15.1%/18.8% for segments contoured per guideline versus 31.4%/40.0% for those under-contoured. The cumulative incidence of VCF was 7.1% (95% CI 4.1-11.1) at 12-months and 12.3% (95% CI 8.2-17.2) at 24-months. On MVA, female gender was the only risk factor for VCF (HR 2.3, 95% CI 1.1-5.2, p = 0.04). The median OS was 29.5 months (95% CI 17.5-59.2). On MVA, primary kidney (HR 4.7, 95% CI 1.7-12.5, p = 0.002) or lung histology (HR 3.4, 95% CI 1.3-8.5, p = 0.010), the presence of liver (HR 2.8, 95% CI 1.2-6.4, p = 0.016) or lung (HR 2.5, 95% CI 1.3-5.1, p = 0.008) metastases, ECOG performance status 2 or 3 (HR 3.3, 95% CI 1.2-8.2, p = 0.013), and the presence of sensory or motor deficit (HR 2.6, 95% CI 1.2-5.4, p = 0.012) were prognostic for worse OS. CONCLUSION Sacral SBRT is associated with high rates of efficacy and an acceptable VCF risk. Adherence to target volume delineation consensus guidelines reduces the risk of LF.

Abstract
1. A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OH-D3) supplementation on the reproductive performance, egg quality, eggshell ultrastructure, serum hormone level and antioxidant capacity, intestinal morphology and tibia quality of breeder geese during the laying period.2. The trial was designed as a 3 × 3 factorial arrangement with three levels (300, 400 and 500 IU/kg) of vitamin D3 supplementation and three levels (25, 50 and 75 μg/kg) of 25-OH-D3 supplementation in a 10-wk feeding trial.3. The results showed that the combined supplementation of 400 IU/kg vitamin D3 and 50 μg/kg 25-OH-D3 had a better feed conversion ratio and a higher egg laying rate than the other groups. Vitamin D3 supplementation significantly increased the rate of qualified eggs for hatching, eggshell strength and thickness, serum testosterone and progesterone levels, serum total superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities, tibia ash content and bone mineral density (P < 0.05). Dietary 25-OH-D3 supplementation significantly increased serum glutathione peroxidase activity and duodenal villus height and villus height-to-crypt-depth ratio (P < 0.05). The geese receiving 500 IU/kg vitamin D3 and 75 µg/kg 25-OH-D3 had the highest tibia calcium and phosphorous content among all groups (P < 0.05).4. Feeding 400 IU/kg vitamin D3 plus 50 µg/kg 25-OH-D3 gave optimal effects on feed conversion ratio and egg laying rate. This combination could be a nutritional strategy for increasing the laying rate, eggshell quality, serum hormone levels and serum antioxidant function regardless of 25-OH-D3 supplementation. Supplementation of 50 μg/kg 25-OH-D3 could be a recommended dose for improving the serum antioxidant capacity and intestinal morphology regardless of vitamin D3 supplementation.
