Abstract
We report on a measurement of astrophysical tau neutrinos with 9.7 yr of IceCube data. Using convolutional neural networks trained on images derived from simulated events, seven candidate ν_{τ} events were found with visible energies ranging from roughly 20 TeV to 1 PeV and a median expected parent ν_{τ} energy of about 200 TeV. Considering backgrounds from astrophysical and atmospheric neutrinos, and muons from π^{±}/K^{±} decays in atmospheric air showers, we obtain a total estimated background of about 0.5 events, dominated by non-ν_{τ} astrophysical neutrinos. Thus, we rule out the absence of astrophysical ν_{τ} at the 5σ level. The measured astrophysical ν_{τ} flux is consistent with expectations based on previously published IceCube astrophysical neutrino flux measurements and neutrino oscillations.

Barriers and facilitators to implementing a multilevel, multicomponent intervention promoting colorectal cancer screening in health centers: a qualitative study of key informant perspectives. Abstract
BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer (CRC) continues to be a major cause of death in the U.S. despite the availability of effective screening tools. U.S. Latinos have lower rates of CRC screening and higher rates of death due to colorectal disease compared to non-Hispanic whites. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) serve medically underserved populations, including many Latino patients. Given the low CRC screening rates, identifying culturally sensitive and cost-effective methods of promoting screening is a priority for many FQHCs. METHODS We interviewed FQHC leaders and providers using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) to identify barriers and facilitators to implementation of a multilevel, multicomponent (ML-MC) CRC screening intervention (i.e., promotor navigation and group-based education) in FQHCs. A rapid qualitative analysis approach was used to identify themes organized according to the following CFIR constructs: intervention characteristics, outer and inner settings, and characteristics of the individual. RESULTS We completed interviews with 13 healthcare professionals in leadership positions at six FQHCs. The participating FQHCs perceived the ML-MC screening CRC program as feasible and expressed interest in implementing the program at their sites. Facilitators included financial incentives for increasing screening rates, the need for patient education programming, and involving promotores to support the work of clinical teams. Barriers included concerns about available resources to implement new programs, lack of federal reimbursement for health education, competing priorities of other health concerns, and the need for more resources for confirmatory screening and treatment following a positive screen. CONCLUSIONS FQHCs provide essential primary care to millions of underserved patients in the U.S. and have the ability and motivation to provide screenings for colorectal cancer. Partnering with an academic institution to deliver a group-based, promotor-led CRC screening intervention for patients not up to date with screening could help increase screening rates. By identifying the specific barriers and facilitators to implementing CRC intervention, findings suggest that group-based, promotor-led interventions are a promising approach.

Abstract
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became evident that the effectiveness of applying intervention measures is significantly influenced by societal acceptance, which, in turn, is affected by the processes of opinion formation. This article explores one among the many possibilities of coupled opinion-epidemic systems. The findings reveal either intricate periodic patterns or chaotic dynamics, leading to substantial fluctuations in opinion distribution and, consequently, significant variations in the total number of infections over time. Interestingly, the model exhibits a protective pattern.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study assessed the clinical and immunological outcomes of SARS-CoV-2-infected patients with risk factors for severe disease depending on their immunological status. METHODS In this retrospective study with single follow-up visit, clinical outcome and humoral immunity was monitored in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients at risk. The results were compared based on the patients' initial immunological status: unvaccinated (UV), patients who did not develop neutralizing antibodies after vaccination (vaccine non-responders, VNR), and patients who expressed neutralizing antibodies after vaccination (vaccine responders, VR). Patients who lacked neutralizing antibodies (VNR and UV) were treated with nMABs. RESULTS In total, 113 patients at risk of severe COVID-19 consented to participate in the study. VR and UV were not admitted to the hospital. During the observation period, UVs had the highest rate of SARS-CoV-2 re-infections. Three of 41 VNRs (7.3%) were hospitalized due to severe COVID-19, with two of them having undergone iatrogenic B-cell depletion. The humoral immune response after infection was significantly lower in the VNR group than in the VR group in terms of anti-N, anti-receptor-binding domain (RBD), anti-S antibody titers, and anti-S antibody avidity. In a sub-analysis of VNR, B cell-deficient non-responders had significantly lower levels of anti-N antibodies and anti-S avidity after infection than other VNRs. CONCLUSION VNR, particularly B-cell-depleted VNR, remained at risk of hospitalization due to COVID-19. In the VR group, however, no clinical complications or severe disease were observed, despite not receiving nMAbs. Tailoring the administration of nMABs according to patient vaccination and immunological status may be advisable.

Abstract
BACKGROUND An effective testing strategy is essential for pandemic control of the novel Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Breath gas analysis can expand the available toolbox for diagnostic tests by using a rapid, cost-beneficial, high-throughput point-of-care test. We conducted a bi-center clinical pilot study in Germany to evaluate breath gas analysis using multi-capillary column ion mobility spectrometry (MCC-IMS) to detect SARS-CoV-2 infection. METHODS Between September 23, 2020, and June 11, 2021, breath gas measurements were performed on 380 patients (SARS-CoV-2 real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) positive: 186; PCR negative: 194) presenting to the emergency department (ED) with respiratory symptoms. RESULTS Breath gas analysis using MCC-IMS identified 110 peaks; 54 showed statistically significant differences in peak intensity between the SARS-CoV-2 PCR-negative and PCR-positive groups. A decision tree analysis classification resulted in a sensitivity of 83% and specificity of 86%, but limited robustness to dataset changes. Modest values for the sensitivity (74%) and specificity (52%) were obtained using linear discriminant analysis. A systematic search for peaks led to a sensitivity of 77% and specificity of 67%; however, validation by transferability to other data is questionable. CONCLUSIONS Despite identifying several peaks by MCC-IMS with significant differences in peak intensity between PCR-negative and PCR-positive samples, finding a classification system that allows reliable differentiation between the two groups proved to be difficult. However, with some modifications to the setup, breath gas analysis using MCC-IMS may be a useful diagnostic toolbox for SARS-CoV-2 infection. Abstract
BACKGROUND Idiopathic partial thrombosis of the corpus cavernosum (IPTCC) is a rare, semi-acute disease in young, healthy men. In addition to an anatomical predisposition, perineal microtrauma is stated as the main risk factor. MATERIALS AND METHODS A case report and the results of a literature search with descriptive-statistical processing of 57 peer-reviewed publications are presented. A therapy concept was drawn up for clinical practice. RESULTS Our patient was treated conservatively and was consistent with the 87 cases which have been published since 1976. IPTCC is a disease of young men (33.2 years, range 18-70), which is associated with pain and perineal swelling in 88%. Sonography and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) proved to be the diagnostic modality of choice, demonstrating the thrombus and in 89% a connective tissue membrane inside the corpus cavernosum. Treatment included antithrombotic and analgesic (n = 54, 62.1%), surgical (n = 20, 23%), analgesic (n = 8, 9.2%), via injection (n = 2, 2.3%), as well as radiological interventional (n = 1, 1.1%) options. In 12 cases, erectile dysfunction, mostly temporary, which required phosphodiesterase (PDE)-5 therapy developed. Recurrence and prolonged courses were rare. CONCLUSION IPTCC is a rare disease in young men. Conservative therapy with antithrombotic and analgesic treatment has shown good chances of full recovery. If relapse occurs or the patient refuses antithrombotic treatment, operative/alternative therapy management should be considered.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Parametric cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) techniques have improved the diagnosis of pathologies. However, the primary tool for differentiating non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) from myocarditis is still a visual assessment of conventional signal-intensity-based images. This study aimed at analyzing the ability of parametric compared to conventional techniques to visually differentiate ischemic from non-ischemic myocardial injury patterns. METHODS Twenty NSTEMI patients, twenty infarct-like myocarditis patients, and twenty controls were examined using cine, T2-weighted CMR (T2w) and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) imaging and T1/T2 mapping on a 1.5 T scanner. CMR images were presented in random order to two experienced fully blinded observers, who had to assign them to three categories by a visual analysis: NSTEMI, myocarditis, or healthy. RESULTS The conventional approach (cine, T2w and LGE combined) had the best diagnostic accuracy with 92% (95%CI: 81-97) for NSTEMI and 86% (95%CI: 71-94) for myocarditis. The diagnostic accuracies using T1 maps were 88% (95%CI: 74-95) and 80% (95%CI: 62-91), 84% (95%CI: 67-93) and 74% (95%CI: 54-87) for LGE, and 83% (95%CI: 66-92) and 73% (95%CI: 53-87) for T2w. The accuracies for cine (72% (95%CI: 52-86) and 60% (95%CI: 38-78)) and T2 maps (62% (95%CI: 40-79) and 47% (95%CI: 28-68)) were significantly lower compared to the conventional approach (p < 0.001 and p < 0.0001). CONCLUSIONS The conventional approach provided a reliable visual discrimination between NSTEMI, myocarditis, and controls. The diagnostic accuracy of a visual pattern analysis of T1 maps was not significantly inferior, whereas the diagnostic accuracy of T2 maps was not sufficient in this context. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT The ability of parametric compared to conventional CMR techniques to visually differentiate ischemic from non-ischemic myocardial injury patterns can avoid potentially unnecessary invasive coronary angiography and help to shorten CMR protocols and to reduce the need of gadolinium contrast agents. KEY POINTS • A visual differentiation of ischemic from non-ischemic patterns of myocardial injury is reliably achieved by a combination of conventional CMR techniques (cine, T2-weighted and LGE imaging). • There is no significant difference in accuracies between visual pattern analysis on native T1 maps without providing quantitative values and a conventional combined approach for differentiating non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, infarct-like myocarditis, and controls. • T2 maps do not provide a sufficient diagnostic accuracy for visual pattern analysis for differentiating non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, infarct-like myocarditis, and controls.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Globally, girls disengage from sports at an earlier age and higher rate than boys. This is, in part, due to the unique body image challenges that girls face, relative to their male peers. Existing intervention efforts that aim to reduce girls' negative body image and movement experiences have proven marginally effective, if not ineffective. This paper outlines the co-creation, initial piloting and protocol for a cluster randomised controlled trial of Body Confident Athletes (BCA); an in-person, coach-led intervention that aims to foster positive body image and sports enjoyment among girls. METHODS Following co-creation and an initial pilot, a two-armed cluster randomised controlled trial will assess the immediate (post-intervention) and short-term (1-month and 3-month follow-up) impact of BCA on girls' (N = 1,036; 11-17 years old) body image, sports enjoyment, and affect. Sport organisations will be randomly allocated (1:1) into either an intervention or waitlist control condition. Girls and coaches in the intervention condition will complete three 60-minute sessions over three consecutive weeks. The primary outcome will be the immediate change in girls' body esteem, with secondary outcomes assessing the immediate and short-term changes in girls' body appreciation, self-objectification, attuned self-care, sports enjoyment, and affect. DISCUSSION This research is the first to utilise an international multi-stakeholder partnership to co-create and evaluate an intervention that addresses the intersection of girls' body image and sport experiences. The theoretical and methodological considerations of this research have led to a feasible intervention and trial protocol, and if proven effective, BCA may assist in reducing the global gender disparity in sports participation. Abstract
The origin of high-energy cosmic rays, atomic nuclei that continuously impact Earth's atmosphere, is unknown. Because of deflection by interstellar magnetic fields, cosmic rays produced within the Milky Way arrive at Earth from random directions. However, cosmic rays interact with matter near their sources and during propagation, which produces high-energy neutrinos. We searched for neutrino emission using machine learning techniques applied to 10 years of data from the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. By comparing diffuse emission models to a background-only hypothesis, we identified neutrino emission from the Galactic plane at the 4.5σ level of significance. The signal is consistent with diffuse emission of neutrinos from the Milky Way but could also arise from a population of unresolved point sources.

Abstract
Continuous processes offer more environmentally friendlier beer production compared to the batch production. However, the continuous production of mashing has not become state-of-the-art in the brewing industry. The controllability and flexibility of this process still has hurdles for practical implementation, but which are necessary to react to changing raw materials. Once overcome, a continuous mashing can be efficiently adapted to the raw materials. Both mean residence time and temperature were investigated as key parameters to influence the extract and fermentable sugar content of the wort. The continuous mashing process was implemented as continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) cascade consisting of mashing in (20°C), protein rest (50°C), β-amylase rest (62-64°C), saccharification rest (72°C) and mashing out (78°C). Two different temperature settings for the β-amylase rest were investigated with particular emphasis on fermentable sugars. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and a post-hoc analysis showed that the mean residence time and temperature settings were suitable control parameters for the fermentable sugars. In the experimental conditions, the most pronounced effect was with the β-amylase rest. These results broaden the understanding of heterogenous CSTR mashing systems about assembly and selection of process parameters

Abstract
BACKGROUND There is a paucity of data on cardiovascular magnetic resonance feature tracking (CMR-FT) in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). We aimed at describing global and segmental myocardial strain patterns and a potential association with the presence of focal myocardial scarring in DCM patients by CMR-FT. METHODS Thirty-nine patients with DCM and reduced left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (mean 21±8%) underwent CMR including standard cine steady-state free precession (SSFP) sequences and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). We measured global LV longitudinal as well as global and segmental circumferential and radial strain. The presence of focal myocardial fibrosis was assessed on LGE images. RESULTS Nineteen patients had focal myocardial fibrosis on LGE images with the highest prevalence in the basal septal segments II and III, which were affected in 12 (63%) and 13 (68%) patients. Furthermore, there was a significantly lower average short-axis LV radial strain (LVSAX-RS) in these segments (4.89 (-1.55 to 11.34) %) compared with the average of the other myocardial segments (21.20 (17.36 to 25.05)%; p<0.001) after adjusting for LGE and left-bundle branch block (LBBB). In general, LV segments with LGE had lower model-based mean LVSAX-RS values (17.65 (10.37 to 24.93) %) compared with those without LGE (19.40 (15.43 to 23.37) %), but this effect was not significant after adjusting for the presence of LBBB (p=0.630). CONCLUSION Our findings revealed a coincidence of impaired radial strain and focal myocardial fibrosis in the basal septal LV myocardial segments of patients with DCM. Regardless of this pattern, we did not find a general, significant effect of myocardial fibrosis on strain in our cohort. Future studies are required to assess the potential prognostic implications of myocardial strain patterns in addition to the assessment of myocardial fibrosis in patients with DCM.

Abstract
A supermassive black hole, obscured by cosmic dust, powers the nearby active galaxy NGC 1068. Neutrinos, which rarely interact with matter, could provide information on the galaxy’s active core. We searched for neutrino emission from astrophysical objects using data recorded with the IceCube neutrino detector between 2011 and 2020. The positions of 110 known gamma-ray sources were individually searched for neutrino detections above atmospheric and cosmic backgrounds. We found that NGC 1068 has an excess of

neutrinos at tera–electron volt energies, with a global significance of 4.2σ, which we interpret as associated with the active galaxy. The flux of high-energy neutrinos that we measured from NGC 1068 is more than an order of magnitude higher than the upper limit on emissions of tera–electron volt gamma rays from this source.

Abstract
We present a search for an unstable sterile neutrino by looking for a resonant signal in eight years of atmospheric ν_{μ} data collected from 2011 to 2019 at the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. Both the (stable) three-neutrino and the 3+1 sterile neutrino models are disfavored relative to the unstable sterile neutrino model, though with p values of 2.8% and 0.81%, respectively, we do not observe evidence for 3+1 neutrinos with neutrino decay. The best-fit parameters for the sterile neutrino with decay model from this study are Δm_{41}^{2}=6.7_{-2.5}^{+3.9} eV^{2}, sin^{2}2θ_{24}=0.33_{-0.17}^{+0.20}, and g^{2}=2.5π±1.5π, where g is the decay-mediating coupling. The preferred regions of the 3+1+decay model from short-baseline oscillation searches are excluded at 90% C.L.

Background
Transcatheter tricuspid valve repair (TTVR) is an emerging option for treating high-grade tricuspid regurgitation (TR) [1], mostly performed by edge-to-edge repair, and always guided by transesophageal echocardiography (TOE). In patients with excellent acoustic window, transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) can also provide a comprehensive understanding of tricuspid valve (TV) morphology [2]. Also, in TTVR there is no need for transseptal puncture.
Purpose
We sought to determine if TTVR can be successfully conducted by a novel TTE guiding approach, in conjunction with fluoroscopy [3].
Methods
30 consecutive patients, scheduled for TTVR, were assigned to a TTE group (n=10), in the presence of excellent acoustic window, and a TOE group (n=20). On top of fluoroscopy, TTVR was guided exclusively by TTE in the first group, with TOE result confirmation solely upon clip release, due to safety reasons. The second group underwent classical TOE guidance. Understanding the 4 right heart chamber views (Fig. 1) and their respective fluoroscopic angulations was paramount. TR severity, parameters of quality of life and functional capacity were assessed and compared between-groups, at baseline and 30 days.
Results
Except for lower BMI (TTE 22.3±0.8 vs TOE 29.8±4.3, p<0.001), other baseline characteristics were very similar between groups, e.g., age (81.7±3.9 vs 82.8±4.1, p=0.483) or EuroSCORE II (11.9±10.3 vs 10.4±8, p=0.692).Device success was achieved in all patients, with a total of 15 implanted clips in the TTE group (mean no. of clips / patient 1.5±0.7) and 31 clips in the TOE group (1.5±0.6). Device time (75±37.1 vs 65.7±31.3 minutes, p=0.506) and fluoroscopy duration (16.3±10.5 vs 14.4±7.2 minutes, p=0.564) were also close. TR reduction was successful in all but one patient, in each group (90% vs 95%, p=1.000). TR improvement was equal between-groups, with 2 or more grade reduction in 60% of each group, at 30 days. Thus, grade IV/V and V/V TR, present in 60% of all patients at baseline, dropped to 10% (9/10 vs 18/20, p=1.000) by procedure end and follow-up (Fig. 2). No device associated complications occurred. By 30 days, there was one non-cardiac death and one major bleeding.
At follow-up, all but one patient had at least one grade reduction in NYHA class (10/10 vs 19/20, p=1.000). Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire score and 6-minute walk distance similarly improved (Δ20.7±14.9 vs 15.5±7.9 points, p=0.227; Δ80.5±60.1 vs 46.6±30.6 meters, p=0.121). A statistical in-group difference was also noticed in renal function improvement by follow-up [glomerular filtration rate (GFR) TTE group 56.8±18.7 vs 64.8±12.5 ml/m2/1.73 m2, p=0.028; TOE group 50.7±19.9 vs 62.2±25.9, p=0.001].
Conclusion
TTE guidance of TTVR is feasible in selected patients with excellent acoustic window and could offer an alternative in case of high anesthetic risk. Similar procedural success and clinical outcomes, as with TOE guidance, can be achieved.

Background
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is defined in three domains; clinically by unexplained hypertrophy, genetically by sarcomeric gene mutations and histologically by disarray, small vessel disease and fibrosis. Both ischaemia and myocyte disarray have been implicated in arrhythmogenesis and sudden cardiac death but whether disarray occurs before hypertrophy and its relationship to ischaemia is unknown.
Diffusion-tensor CMR, perfusion mapping & ECG Imaging (ECGI) can measure disarray, ischaemia and electrical aberrance respectively in vivo. We aimed to investigate these in genotype positive (G+) subjects without hypertrophy (LVH−) to identify further subclinical manifestations of gene expression and whether these relate to ventricular arrhythmia formation.
Methods
Diffusion-tensor CMR (3-Tesla) using a motion-compensated spin-echo sequence was acquired in 3 short-axis slices. Quantitative adenosine stress perfusion mapping was performed using standard clinical protocols. A novel ECGI vest, containing 256 unipolar electrodes acquired a 5-minute recording of body-surface potentials to quantify conduction and repolarisation dynamics intervals.
Results
ECGI/CMR was performed on 68 mutation carriers from 64 families and 24 age sex and ethnicity matched healthy controls. Of the mutation carriers, median age was 33 (24–41 years), 57% (39) were female, and 79% (54) were white. Mutations were 39 (57%) MYBPC3, 19 (28%) MYH7, 1 (1%) MYL2 and 9 (12%) were thin filament/non-sarcomeric mutations. There was no significant difference in ejection fraction or LV mass, however G+LVH− had a higher maximum wall thickness (9 (9–10) vs 8 (7–9) mm p=0.003).
Compared to healthy volunteers, G+LVH− individuals had more perfusion defects (18/64 (30%) vs 0, p=0.004), lower Fractional Anisotropy (FA) (suggestive of more disarray) (0.32±0.02 vs 0.34±0.02, p<0.0001) and more prolonged Activation–Recovery Intervals (ARI, a surrogate for action potential duration (259±40 vs 240±31 ms, p=0.03).
In G+LVH−, patients with perfusion defects had more prolonged ARI (263 (248 vs 292) vs 246 (225–283) ms, p=0.03) and lower FA suggestive of more disarray (0.32±0.2 vs 0.31±0.1, p=0.04).
Conclusion
Ischaemia, myocyte disarray and electrical abnormalities occur even in the absence of hypertrophy in HCM. These abnormalities associate to form a complex a clinical phenotype.

Abstract
We report a search for nonstandard neutrino interactions (NSI) using eight years of TeV-scale atmospheric muon neutrino data from the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. By reconstructing incident energies and zenith angles for atmospheric neutrino events, this analysis presents unified confidence intervals for the NSI parameter ε_{μτ}. The best-fit value is consistent with no NSI at a p value of 25.2%. With a 90% confidence interval of -0.0041≤ε_{μτ}≤0.0031 along the real axis and similar strength in the complex plane, this result is the strongest constraint on any NSI parameter from any oscillation channel to date.

To draw the balance of anthropogenic 129I input into European soils, the concentrations of 129I and 127I in seven soils from Lower Saxony were analyzed down to a depth of 250 cm. In comparison with pre-nuclear soils and Ukrainian soils, we detected a significant anthropogenic input of 129I. Considering the different time periods for the input of 129I and 127I it was possible to assess the dynamics of sorption processes which dominate migration and accumulation. Anthropogenic 129I was successfully used as a tracer for a clarification of the migration processes of trace elements in soils.

Abstract
The feasibility of inline classification and characterization of seven fruit juice varieties was investigated by the application of near‐infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) combined with chemometrics. The findings are intended to be used to optimize the flash pasteurization of liquid foods. More precise information of the kind of product in real time had to be achieved to enable a more product‐specific process. Using the method of partial least squares discriminant analysis, the fruit juice varieties were classified, showing a classification rate of 100% regarding an internal and 69% regarding an external test sets. A characterization by the extract content, pH value, turbidity, and viscosity was made by fitting a partial least squares regression model. The percentage prediction error of the pH value was <3% for internal and external test sets, and for the Brix value prediction errors were about 4% (internal) and 20% (external). The parameters viscosity and turbidity were found to be unsuitable. Despite this, the strategy applied to gain more product‐specific information in real time showed to be feasible. By linking the results to a database containing potentially harmful microorganisms for various types of fruit juices, a more product‐specific calculation of the necessary heat input can be performed. To demonstrate the practical relevance, a comparison between conventional and product‐adapted process control was performed using two fruit varieties as examples in case of Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris. Thus, with more accurate product information, achieved through the use of NIRS with chemometrics, a more precise calculation of the heat input can be achieved.

Abstract
We present an all-sky 90% confidence level upper limit on the cosmic flux of relativistic magnetic monopoles using 2886 days of IceCube data. The analysis was optimized for monopole speeds between 0.750c and 0.995c, without any explicit restriction on the monopole mass. We constrain the flux of relativistic cosmic magnetic monopoles to a level below 2.0×10^{-19} cm^{-2} s^{-1} sr^{-1} over the majority of the targeted speed range. This result constitutes the most strict upper limit to date for magnetic monopoles with β≳0.8 and up to β∼0.995 and fills the gap between existing limits on the cosmic flux of nonrelativistic and ultrarelativistic magnetic monopoles.

Abstract
PURPOSE Induction of IDO depends on the activation of AhR forming the AhR/IDO axis. Activated AhR can transcribe various target genes including cytotoxic and inhibiting receptors of NK cells. We investigated whether AhR and IDO levels as well as activating (NKG2D) and inhibiting (KIR2DL1) NK cell receptors are influenced by acute exercise and different chronic endurance exercise programs. METHODS 21 adult breast and prostate cancer patients of the TOP study (NCT02883699) were randomized to intervention programs of 12 weeks of (1) endurance standard training or (2) endurance polarized training after a cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET). Serum was collected pre-CPET, immediately post-CPET, 1 h post-CPET and after 12 weeks post-intervention. Flow cytometry analysis was performed on autologous serum incubated NK-92 cells for: AhR, IDO, KIR2DL1 and NKG2D. Differences were investigated using analysis-of-variance for acute and analysis-of-covariance for chronic effects. RESULTS Acute exercise: IDO levels changed over time with a significant increase from post-CPET to 1 h post-CPET (p = 0.03). KIR2DL1 levels significantly decreased over time (p < 0.01). NKG2D levels remained constant (p = 0.31). Chronic exercise: for both IDO and NKG2D a significant group × time interaction, a significant time effect and a significant difference after 12 weeks of intervention were observed (IDO: all p < 0.01, NKG2D: all p > 0.05). CONCLUSION Both acute and chronic endurance training may regulate NK cell function via the AhR/IDO axis. This is clinically relevant, as exercise emerges to be a key player in immune regulation.

Abstract
Background In 2018, an innovative, State government‐funded cannabis medicines drug information service was established for health professionals in New South Wales (NSW). The NSW Cannabis Medicines Advisory Service (CMAS) provides expert clinical guidance and support to medical practitioners considering prescribing a cannabis medicine to their patient(s). Aims This research examines quality assurance and patient outcomes related to enquirers' experience with NSW CMAS. Methods Data collection involved an online, anonymous survey with two components. Following a health professional enquiry, quality assurance data were collected about the enquirers' experience with NSW CMAS. The second survey focussed on patient outcomes and provides real‐world observational data about cannabis medicines safety and effectiveness across a wide range of indications. Results Data collection occurred between January 2020 and June 2021. Preliminary analyses were based on 68 quality assurance and 50 patient outcomes survey responses. General practitioners represented the highest proportion of survey responses (n = 33; 49%). The most common enquiry involved ‘patient‐specific advice’ (n = 50; 74%). Patient‐specific information provided by the service was mainly used for prescribing decision support (n = 45; 90%). Conclusions Preliminary findings highlight the impact of an innovative cannabis medicines drug information service in supporting health professional clinical practice in an area of rapid knowledge translation. Quality assurance data indicate that the service is perceived well by the majority of enquirers. Patient outcomes data across a wide range of indications suggest some effectiveness and a reasonable safety profile for prescribed cannabis medicines for most patients.

Abstract
AbstractThis paper describes the CPR Tutor, a real-time multimodal feedback system for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. The CPR Tutor detects training mistakes using recurrent neural networks. The CPR Tutor automatically recognises and assesses the quality of the chest compressions according to five CPR performance indicators. It detects training mistakes in real-time by analysing a multimodal data stream consisting of kinematic and electromyographic data. Based on this assessment, the CPR Tutor provides audio feedback to correct the most critical mistakes and improve the CPR performance. The mistake detection models of the CPR Tutor were trained using a dataset from 10 experts. Hence, we tested the validity of the CPR Tutor and the impact of its feedback functionality in a user study involving additional 10 participants. The CPR Tutor pushes forward the current state of the art of real-time multimodal tutors by providing: (1) an architecture design, (2) a methodological approach for delivering real-time feedback using multimodal data and (3) a field study on real-time feedback for CPR training. This paper details the results of a field study by quantitatively measuring the impact of the CPR Tutor feedback on the performance indicators and qualitatively analysing the participants’ questionnaire answers.

Abstract
Malaria is the fifth most lethal parasitic infections in the world. Herein, five new series of aminoalcohol quinolines including fifty-two compounds were designed, synthesized and evaluated in vitro against Pf3D7 and PfW2 strains. Among them, fourteen displayed IC50 values below or near of 50.0 nM whatever the strain with selectivity index often superior to 100.17b was found as a promising antimalarial candidate with IC50 values of 14.9 nM and 11.0 nM against respectively Pf3D7 and PfW2 and a selectivity index higher than 770 whatever the cell line is. Further experiments were achieved to confirm the safety and to establish the preliminary ADMET profile of compound 17b before the in vivo study performed on a mouse model of P. berghei ANKA infection. The overall data of this study allowed to establish new structure-activity relationships and the development of novel agents with improved pharmacokinetic properties.

There is limited evidence regarding the proportion of dead equids in France that were euthanized and the factors influencing the decision-making of euthanasia. The better understanding of which could facilitate research on improvement of welfare, especially on end of life issues. The aim of this study was to estimate the proportion of euthanasia and identify associated factors in equids in France. A web-based survey was created and distributed by the French horse and riding institute to owners who reported an equine death between April 2017 and April 2018 (n = 5 158). Factors associated with euthanasia were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model. The percentage of responses was 10.6% (n = 548/5 158; 95% CI 9.8% to 11.5%). The proportion of euthanasia was 71.0% (n = 389/548; 95% CI 67.2% to 74.8%). The factors "age category", "cause of natural death or reason for euthanasia" and "the length of time during which the animal was reported to be ill by the owner" were significantly associated with euthanasia (P <0.001). The results highlighted that a large majority of owners faced euthanasia decisions and our findings could support veterinarians and owners to better prepare for such an eventuality.

Abstract
Adequate nutrition and glycemic homeostasis are increasingly recognized as potentially neuroprotective for the developing brain. In the context of hypoxia-ischemia, evidence is scarce regarding optimal nutritional support and administration route, as well as the short- and long-term consequences of such interventions. In this review, we summarize current knowledge on disturbances of brain metabolism of glucose and substrates by hypoxia-ischemia, and compound effects of these mechanisms on brain injury characterized by specific patterns on EEG and MRI. Risks and benefits of nutrition delivery via parenteral or enteral routes are examined. Nutrition could mitigate adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes, and the impact of nutritional strategies and specific nutritional interventions are reviewed. Limited literature highlights the need for further studies to understand the changes in energy metabolism during and after hypoxic-ischemic injury, to optimize nutritional regimens and glucose management, and to inform the neuroprotective role of nutrition.

Preservation of juices is essential to obtain microbial safe products. There are various established methods as pasteurization. Heretofore, only the kinetic figures of microbial inactivation were considered but not those of reaction impairing the chemical quality. For a gentler processing, knowledge of the kinetics of relevant chemical conversion reactions is necessary. 5-(Hydroxymethyl)-furfural (HMF) formation and the color change of juices are important attributes. The non-isothermal Rhim method was used to determine the activation energy and pre-exponential factor for HMF formation in different juices and an isothermal method for the reaction order. Values for the activation energy from 133 to 303 kJ/mol were obtained with a zeroth reaction order. A correlation between HMF and the color change could be found. Based on the kinetic figures, lines with equal effects for the chemical changes and for the lethal effect on microorganisms were calculated. Abstract
Chatbots are a promising technology with the potential to enhance workplaces and everyday life. In terms of scalability and accessibility, they also offer unique possibilities as communication and information tools for digital learning. In this paper, we present a systematic literature review investigating the areas of education where chatbots have already been applied, explore the pedagogical roles of chatbots, the use of chatbots for mentoring purposes, and their potential to personalize education. We conducted a preliminary analysis of 2,678 publications to perform this literature review, which allowed us to identify 74 relevant publications for chatbots’ application in education. Through this, we address five research questions that, together, allow us to explore the current state-of-the-art of this educational technology. We conclude our systematic review by pointing to three main research challenges: 1) Aligning chatbot evaluations with implementation objectives, 2) Exploring the potential of chatbots for mentoring students, and 3) Exploring and leveraging adaptation capabilities of chatbots. For all three challenges, we discuss opportunities for future research.

Abstract
Objectives In the face of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, people with dementia and their carers are contending with serious challenges to their health and wellbeing, due to risk of severe illness, limiting of social contact and disruption to usual activities. Many forms of support for people with dementia and their carers, including singing groups, have moved online using videoconferencing. Previous research has demonstrated the benefits of group singing, which include cognitive stimulation, meaningful activity and peer support. However, although we know which aspects of the singing group experience participants find helpful, we do not know how this experience translates into an online videoconferencing format, and this is a very new field with little existing research. This article reviews the literature pertinent to online singing interventions and uses the findings to develop some suggestions for running an online singing group. Study design: Scoping review. Methods Systematic literature searches were conducted in EMBASE, Medline, CINAHL, PsycINFO and Web of Science. Owing to the paucity of existing research, searches were also conducted in Google Scholar. The scope of the review covered five related areas: online music making and music therapy, telemedicine and telecare, everyday technology for people with dementia, digital arts and dementia, and use of technology for social interaction and leisure. Our analysis aimed to integrate the results to inform the implementation of online singing groups for people with dementia. Results Scoping of evidence from discrete fields of enquiry and different disciplinary traditions can inform the delivery of online singing in dementia. This literature also yields useful insights into the role of the carer and how best to support participants to use technology. Barriers and facilitators to online singing were found to relate both to the technology and to the individual participant. Conclusion Lockdown restrictions have led to much innovation, and this is likely to lead to changes in practice even after normal life resumes. The suggestions in this article will be helpful primarily for practitioners moving into online work and researchers investigating this novel area. They may also be useful to commissioners and policymakers because they reflect current knowledge about best practice.

Abstract
A new species, Oiceoptoma tangi Sommer, Růžička, Nishikawa Schneider, new species, from Zhejiang Province, China, is described and illustrated. The new species is closely related to O. subrufum (Lewis, 1888), distributed in Central and North-eastern China, the Korean Peninsula, Far East of Russia and Japan, and to O. nigropunctatum (Lewis, 1888), endemic to Japan. All three species are keyed, and distribution maps of all three species are presented.

Abstract
Multimodal pain management strategies are critical in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). There has recently been a shift toward opioid sparing protocols, yet most publications continue to use narcotics in the perioperative period. Periarticular injections are a popular adjunct but studies regarding the optimal medications have high variability making it difficult to choose the optimal medication. The purpose of this study is to validate a perioperative, opioid-free protocol and compare two different periarticular injections without the variability in previous reports. A multimodal pain protocol was instituted that administered no narcotic medications in the perioperative period. Over 2 years, primary TKA patients were informally randomized to receive liposomal bupivacaine (LB), or a cocktail of medications (CO). A total of 189 patients were included: 101 patients in group LB and 88 patients in group CO. Postoperative opioid consumption, length of stay, and inpatient distance ambulated were compared across the two injection groups. In morphine milligram equivalents, group LB consumed a mean of 20.36 mg of oxycodone versus 23.18 mg in group CO (p = 0.543). For tramadol, group LB consumed 27.24 mg versus 28.69 mg in group CO (p = 0.714). Mean hospital stay was 1.70 days for group LB and 1.72 days for group CO (p = 0.811). Distance ambulated was 528.4ft for group LB and 499.8ft for group CO (p = 0.477). In the LB group, 50% of patients required no oxycodone, and 12% of them took neither oxycodone nor tramadol for pain. In the CO group, 40% declined oxycodone and 10% declined both oxycodone and tramadol. We successfully treated all patients without narcotic medications in the perioperative period. Although we saw trends for improvements in group LB, these were small and not clinically meaningful. It appears that both injections were effective. There is a significant cost difference and medications should be chosen based on surgeon preference and institutional needs.

Abstract
Cosaviruses (CoSV) were first identified in stool samples collected from non-polio acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) cases and their healthy contacts in Pakistan in 2003. The clinical importance of CoSV remains unclear as data on epidemiology are scarce and no routine diagnostic testing is done. In this study, we characterized human CoSV (HCoSV) in a child with non-polio AFP and in sewage samples collected in Berlin, Germany. Using unbiased high-throughput sequencing and specific PCR, we characterized a HCoSV-D in stool samples of a three-year-old child hospitalized in Germany with non-polio AFP and travel history to Pakistan. The shedding pattern and absence of other relevant pathogens suggests that HCoSV-D may have been involved in the genesis of AFP. The HCoSV-RNA concentration was high, with 2.57 × 106 copies per mL fecal/suspension, decreasing in follow-up samples. To investigate the possibility of local circulation of HCoSV, we screened Berlin sewage samples collected between 2013 and 2018. Molecular testing of sewage samples has shown the presence of CoSV in several parts of the world, but until now not in Germany. Of our sewage samples, 54.3 % were positive for CoSV, with up to three viral species identified in samples. Phylogenetically, the German sequences clustered intermixed with sequences obtained globally. Together, these findings emphasize the need for further clinical, epidemiological, environmental, pathogenicity and phylogenetic studies of HCoSV.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Leukopenia is a common problem after kidney transplantation. The therapeutic approach typically includes a reduction of the immunosuppressive therapy, which is associated with an increased risk of rejection and allograft loss. Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is used as a therapeutic option to raise the leukocyte blood count; however, the effect on acute rejections is controversial. OBJECTIVE The goal of this study is to examine the incidence of acute rejections following G-CSF therapy. METHODS We retrospectively evaluated patients with leukopenia following kidney transplantation and GCSF therapy between January 2007 and December 2017 at our center compared to controls with matched minimal leucocyte blood count in a matched pair analysis. RESULTS We identified 12 patients, who received G-CSF therapy with a cumulative dose of 10.74 µg/kg body weight over a time frame of 4.3 days. G-CSF therapy resulted in a significantly shorter time period with leucocytes <3,000/µL (9.5 vs. 16.6 days), but also trended towards an increased risk of rejection within the next 30 days with three patients in the G-CSF group and no patient in the control group (p=0.06) developing an acute biopsy-proven rejection. Infection and mortality rate in the subsequent year were not different between groups. CONCLUSION G-CSF therapy decreases the duration of leukopenia post-kidney transplantation, but may also increase the risk of an acute rejection.

Abstract
Introduction Since the early SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, cancer patients have been assumed to be at higher risk for severe COVID-19. Here, we present an analysis of cancer patients from the LEOSS (Lean European Open Survey on SARS-CoV-2 Infected Patients) registry to determine whether cancer patients are at higher risk. Patients and methods We retrospectively analyzed a cohort of 435 cancer patients and 2636 non-cancer patients with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection, enrolled between March 16 and August 31, 2020. Data on socio-demographics, comorbidities, cancer-related features and infection course were collected. Age-, sex- and comorbidity-adjusted analysis was performed. Primary endpoint was COVID-19-related mortality. Results In total, 435 cancer patients were included in our analysis. Commonest age category was 76–85 years (36.5%), and 40.5% were female. Solid tumors were seen in 59% and lymphoma and leukemia in 17.5% and 11% of patients. Of these, 54% had an active malignancy, and 22% had recently received anti-cancer treatments. At detection of SARS-CoV-2, the majority (62.5%) presented with mild symptoms. Progression to severe COVID-19 was seen in 55% and ICU admission in 27.5%. COVID-19-related mortality rate was 22.5%. Male sex, advanced age, and active malignancy were associated with higher death rates. Comparing cancer and non-cancer patients, age distribution and comorbidity differed significantly, as did mortality (14% vs 22.5%, p value < 0.001). After adjustments for other risk factors, mortality was comparable. Conclusion Comparing cancer and non-cancer patients, outcome of COVID-19 was comparable after adjusting for age, sex, and comorbidity. However, our results emphasize that cancer patients as a group are at higher risk due to advanced age and pre-existing conditions. Abstract
Purpose Postoperative seromas are a problem in the surgical treatment of breast cancer. The aim of the study was to evaluate whether the lysine-urethane-based tissue adhesive TissuGlu® without drainage is equal/ non-inferior to standard mastecomy with drainage. Methods The study was designed as a prospective, randomized, multicentre non-inferiority study comparing the use of TissuGlu® without drainage with standard wound care with a drain insertion in ablative breast procedures. The number of clinical interventions, quality of life and wound complications were followed-up for 90 days in both groups. Results Although the statistical power was not reached, twice as many clinical interventions were performed in the TissuGlu® group than in the drainage group, especially aspirations of clinically relevant seromas (p = 0.014). The TissuGlu® group produced overall less wound fluid, but developed a clinically relevant seroma (100% vs. 63%) which made an intervention necessary. Less hospitalisation time was observed in the TissuGlu® group, but the complication rate was higher. There was no significant difference in regards to postoperative pain. In summary the non-inferiority of TissuGlu® compared to standard drainage couldn’t be reached. Discussion The present evaluation shows no advantage of the tissue adhesive TissuGlu® in terms of seroma formation and frequency of intervention compared to a standard drainage for mastectomies, but the shorter inpatient stay certainly has a positive effect on the quality of life.

Abstract
The results of a 3+1 sterile neutrino search using eight years of data from the IceCube Neutrino Observatory are presented. A total of 305 735 muon neutrino events are analyzed in reconstructed energy-zenith space to test for signatures of a matter-enhanced oscillation that would occur given a sterile neutrino state with a mass-squared differences between 0.01 and 100 eV^{2}. The best-fit point is found to be at sin^{2}(2θ_{24})=0.10 and Δm_{41}^{2}=4.5 eV^{2}, which is consistent with the no sterile neutrino hypothesis with a p value of 8.0%.
