Abstract
Mounting evidence shows that Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by the propagation of tau aggregates throughout the brain in a prion-like manner. Since current pathology imaging technologies only provide a spatial mapping of tau accumulation, computational modeling becomes indispensable in analyzing the spatiotemporal propagation patterns of widespread tau aggregates from the longitudinal data. However, current state-of-the-art works focus on the longitudinal change of focal patterns, lacking a system-level understanding of the tau propagation mechanism that can explain and forecast the cascade of tau accumulation. To address this limitation, we conceptualize that the intercellular spreading of tau pathology forms a dynamic system where each node (brain region) is ubiquitously wired with other nodes while interacting with the build-up of pathological burdens. In this context, we formulate the biological process of tau spreading in a principled potential energy transport model (constrained by brain network topology), which allows us to develop an explainable neural network for uncovering the spatiotemporal dynamics of tau propagation from the longitudinal tau-PET scans. Specifically, we first translate the transport equation into a GNN (graph neural network) backbone, where the spreading flows are essentially driven by the potential energy of tau accumulation at each node. Conventional GNNs employ a l2-norm graph smoothness prior, resulting in nearly equal potential energies across nodes, leading to vanishing flows. Following this clue, we introduce the total variation (TV) into the graph transport model, where the nature of system's Euler-Lagrange equations is to maximize the spreading flow while minimizing the overall potential energy. On top of this min-max optimization scenario, we design a generative adversarial network (GAN-like) to characterize the TV-based spreading flow of tau aggregates, coined TauFlowNet. We evaluate our TauFlowNet on ADNI and OASIS datasets in terms of the prediction accuracy of future tau accumulation and explore the propagation mechanism of tau aggregates as the disease progresses. Compared to the current counterpart methods, our physics-informed deep model yields more accurate and interpretable results, demonstrating great potential in discovering novel neurobiological mechanisms through the lens of machine learning.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for the independent assessment of screening mammograms have not been well established in a large screening cohort of Asian women. We compared the performance of screening digital mammography considering breast density, between radiologists and AI standalone detection among Korean women. METHODS We retrospectively included 89,855 Korean women who underwent their initial screening digital mammography from 2009 to 2020. Breast cancer within 12 months of the screening mammography was the reference standard, according to the National Cancer Registry. Lunit software was used to determine the probability of malignancy scores, with a cutoff of 10% for breast cancer detection. The AI's performance was compared with that of the final Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System category, as recorded by breast radiologists. Breast density was classified into four categories (A-D) based on the radiologist and AI-based assessments. The performance metrics (cancer detection rate [CDR], sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value [PPV], recall rate, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve [AUC]) were compared across breast density categories. RESULTS Mean participant age was 43.5 ± 8.7 years; 143 breast cancer cases were identified within 12 months. The CDRs (1.1/1000 examination) and sensitivity values showed no significant differences between radiologist and AI-based results (69.9% [95% confidence interval [CI], 61.7-77.3] vs. 67.1% [95% CI, 58.8-74.8]). However, the AI algorithm showed better specificity (93.0% [95% CI, 92.9-93.2] vs. 77.6% [95% CI, 61.7-77.9]), PPV (1.5% [95% CI, 1.2-1.9] vs. 0.5% [95% CI, 0.4-0.6]), recall rate (7.1% [95% CI, 6.9-7.2] vs. 22.5% [95% CI, 22.2-22.7]), and AUC values (0.8 [95% CI, 0.76-0.84] vs. 0.74 [95% CI, 0.7-0.78]) (all P < 0.05). Radiologist and AI-based results showed the best performance in the non-dense category; the CDR and sensitivity were higher for radiologists in the heterogeneously dense category (P = 0.059). However, the specificity, PPV, and recall rate consistently favored AI-based results across all categories, including the extremely dense category. CONCLUSIONS AI-based software showed slightly lower sensitivity, although the difference was not statistically significant. However, it outperformed radiologists in recall rate, specificity, PPV, and AUC, with disparities most prominent in extremely dense breast tissue.

Abstract
The first measurement of the cross section for incoherent photonuclear production of J/ψ vector mesons as a function of the Mandelstam |t| variable is presented. The measurement was carried out with the ALICE detector at midrapidity, |y|<0.8, using ultraperipheral collisions of Pb nuclei at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. This rapidity interval corresponds to a Bjorken-x range (0.3-1.4)×10^{-3}. Cross sections are given in five |t| intervals in the range 0.04<|t|<1 GeV^{2} and compared to the predictions by different models. Models that ignore quantum fluctuations of the gluon density in the colliding hadron predict a |t| dependence of the cross section much steeper than in data. The inclusion of such fluctuations in the same models provides a better description of the data.

Abstract
Current diagnostic systems for Alzheimer's disease (AD) rely upon clinical signs and symptoms, despite the fact that the multiplicity of clinical symptoms renders various neuropsychological assessments inadequate to reflect the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. Since putative neuroimaging biomarkers play a crucial role in understanding the etiology of AD, we sought to stratify the diverse relationships between AD biomarkers and cognitive decline in the aging population and uncover risk factors contributing to the diversities in AD. To do so, we capitalized on a large amount of neuroimaging data from the ADNI study to examine the inflection points along the dynamic relationship between cognitive decline trajectories and whole-brain neuroimaging biomarkers, using a state-of-the-art statistical model of change point detection. Our findings indicated that the temporal relationship between AD biomarkers and cognitive decline may differ depending on the synergistic effect of genetic risk and biological sex. Specifically, tauopathy-PET biomarkers exhibit a more dynamic and age-dependent association with Mini-Mental State Examination scores (p<0.05), with inflection points at 72, 78, and 83 years old, compared with amyloid-PET and neurodegeneration (cortical thickness from MRI) biomarkers. In the landscape of health disparities in AD, our analysis indicated that biological sex moderates the rate of cognitive decline associated with APOE4 genotype. Meanwhile, we found that higher education levels may moderate the effect of APOE4, acting as a marker of cognitive reserve.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The incidence of statin-induced new-onset diabetes (NOD) is increasing but its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We aimed to investigate the effects of various doses of atorvastatin (ATO)-induced autophagy on the development of NOD. METHODS AND RESULTS The isolated rat islets and MIN6 cells-treated with ATO, exhibited impaired glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, reduced insulin content, and induced apoptosis. Additionally, autophagy was induced at all doses (in vitro: 5, 10, 20 μM; in vivo: 10, 15, 20 mg/kg) in ATO-treated MIN6 cells or western diet (WD)-fed mice. In contrast to normal glucose-tolerant mice administered a low-dose (10 mg/kg) ATO, those treated with high-doses (15 or 20 mg/kg) exhibited impaired glucose tolerance. Furthermore, high-dose ATO-treated mice showed decreased β-cell mass and increased apoptosis compared to that of vehicle-treated mice. We also observed that the number of vesicophagous cells in the pancreas of 20 mg/kg ATO-treated WD-fed mice was higher than in vehicle-treated WD-fed mice. Inhibiting autophagy using 3-methyladenine (3-MA) and siAtg5 improved glucose tolerance in vivo and in vitro by preventing apoptotic β-cell death and restoring insulin granules. CONCLUSION These results indicate that high doses of ATO induced hyperactivated autophagy in pancreatic cells, leading to impaired insulin storage, decreased cell viability, and reduced functional cell mass, ultimately resulting in NOD development.

Abstract
Throughout the history of crop domestication, desirable traits have been selected in agricultural products. However, such selection often leads to crops and vegetables with weaker vitality and viability than their wild ancestors when exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Considering the increasing human population and climate change challenges, it is crucial to enhance crop quality and quantity. Accordingly, the identification and utilization of diverse genetic resources are imperative for developing disease-resistant plants that can withstand unexpected epidemics of plant diseases. In this review, we provide a brief overview of recent progress in genome-editing technologies, including zinc-finger nucleases (ZFNs), transcription activator-like effector nucleases (TALENs), and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)-associated protein 9 (Cas9) technologies. In particular, we classify disease-resistant mutants of Arabidopsis thaliana and several crop plants based on the roles or functions of the mutated genes in plant immunity and suggest potential target genes for molecular breeding of genome-edited disease-resistant plants. Genome-editing technologies are resilient tools for sustainable development and promising solutions for coping with climate change and population increases.

Assisted reproductive techniques and subsequent risk of asthma and allergic rhinitis in offspring: a nationwide birth cohort study in South Korea. Abstract
OBJECTIVE The relationship between assisted reproductive techniques (ART) and the risk of asthma and allergic rhinitis (AR) is controversial. Thus, we aimed to investigate the relationship between ART and the risk of asthma and AR in a nationwide, large-scale birth cohort. PATIENTS AND METHODS This study utilized the National Health Insurance Service data in South Korea to conduct a nationwide, large-scale, population-based birth cohort. We included all infants born between 2017 and 2018. AR, asthma, food allergies, and atopic dermatitis were defined using the International Classification of Diseases tenth edition codes. Asthma was classified as allergic or non-allergic based on accompanying allergic diseases (AR, food allergy, or atopic dermatitis). Using 1:10 propensity score matching, we compared infants conceived through ART with those conceived naturally (non-ART). After matching, logistic regression was used to compare the hazard ratio for asthma and AR between the two groups. RESULTS We included 543,178 infants [male infants, 280,194 (51.38%)]. After matching, 8,925 and 74,229 infants were selected for the ART and non-ART groups, respectively. The ART group showed a decreased risk of asthma in the offspring [adjusted hazard ratio (aHR), 0.45; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.41-0.48]. Similarly, for AR, being conceived by ART was associated with a decreased risk of AR (aHR, 0.25; 95% CI, 0.12-0.37). ART offspring showed a decreased risk of asthma and AR in offspring compared to that observed in non-ART offspring. CONCLUSIONS Our study offers important insights for clinicians, researchers, and parents regarding the health outcomes of ART-conceived infants and enhances our understanding of ART's impact on respiratory health.

Abstract
Bariatric surgery is associated with improved outcomes for several cancers, including breast cancer (BC), although the mechanisms mediating this protection are unknown. We hypothesized that elevated bile acid pools detected after bariatric surgery may be factors that contribute to improved BC outcomes. Patients with greater expression of the bile acid receptor FXR displayed improved survival in specific aggressive BC subtypes. FXR is a nuclear hormone receptor activated by primary bile acids. Therefore, we posited that activating FXR using an established FDA-approved agonist would induce anticancer effects. Using in vivo and in vitro approaches, we determined the anti-tumor potential of bile acid receptor agonism. Indeed, FXR agonism by the bile acid mimetic known commercially as Ocaliva ("OCA"), or Obeticholic acid (INT-747), significantly reduced BC progression and overall tumor burden in a pre-clinical model. The transcriptomic analysis of tumors in mice subjected to OCA treatment revealed differential gene expression patterns compared to vehicle controls. Notably, there was a significant down-regulation of the oncogenic transcription factor MAX (MYC-associated factor X), which interacts with the oncogene MYC. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) further demonstrated a statistically significant downregulation of the Hallmark MYC-related gene set (MYC Target V1) following OCA treatment. In human and murine BC analyses in vitro, agonism of FXR significantly and dose-dependently inhibited proliferation, migration, and viability. In contrast, the synthetic agonism of another common bile acid receptor, the G protein-coupled bile acid receptor TGR5 (GPBAR1) which is mainly activated by secondary bile acids, failed to significantly alter cancer cell dynamics. In conclusion, agonism of FXR by primary bile acid memetic OCA yields potent anti-tumor effects potentially through inhibition of proliferation and migration and reduced cell viability. These findings suggest that FXR is a tumor suppressor gene with a high potential for use in personalized therapeutic strategies for individuals with BC.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to enhance comprehension of the different types and features of dementia, including their symptoms, diagnosis and medical treatment, and to propose various evidence-based exercise interventions and their clinical applications tailored to each specific type of dementia. The theoretical review includes the analysis of publications in the scientific databases PubMed/Medline, Ebsco, Scielo, and Google. A total of 177 articles were found, of which 84 were studied in depth. With the prevalence of all forms of dementia projected to increase from 57.4 million in 2019 to 152.8 million in 2050, personalized treatment strategies are needed. This review discusses various forms of dementia, including their pathologies, diagnostic criteria, and prevalence rates. The importance of accurate diagnosis and tailored care is emphasized, as well as the effectiveness of physical exercise in improving cognitive function in dementia patients. For Alzheimer's, a combination of drug therapies and exercises is recommended to enhance cerebral blood flow and neurotransmitter activity. To improve cognitive and motor functions in Lewy body dementia, a combination of pharmacological and physical therapies is recommended. For managing frontotemporal dementia, a mix of medication and exercises aimed at emotion regulation, including aerobic exercises, and a unified protocol, is suggested. For mild cognitive impairment, aerobic and functional exercises are important in delaying cognitive decline and enhancing cognitive performance. In conclusion, individualized care and treatment plans tailored to the specific characteristics of each disease type can improve the quality of life for individuals with this condition and effectively manage this growing global health issue.

Abstract
All living organisms deploy cell-autonomous defenses to combat infection. In plants and animals, large supramolecular complexes often activate immune proteins for protection. In this work, we resolved the native structure of a massive host-defense complex that polymerizes 30,000 guanylate-binding proteins (GBPs) over the surface of gram-negative bacteria inside human cells. Construction of this giant nanomachine took several minutes and remained stable for hours, required guanosine triphosphate hydrolysis, and recruited four GBPs plus caspase-4 and Gasdermin D as a cytokine and cell death immune signaling platform. Cryo-electron tomography suggests that GBP1 can adopt an extended conformation for bacterial membrane insertion to establish this platform, triggering lipopolysaccharide release that activated coassembled caspase-4. Our "open conformer" model provides a dynamic view into how the human GBP1 defense complex mobilizes innate immunity to infection.

Abstract
We present a case of previously unclassified duplicated gallbladder which posed a surgical challenge intraoperatively by mimicking a choledochal cyst. An intraoperative cholangiogram was performed followed by a simple cholecystectomy. No further dissection was performed to avoid bile duct injury and complication from the unconventional anatomy. Postoperative imaging and histology, followed by the second operation confirmed findings consistent with the duplicated gallbladder. Through this case, we have demonstrated the principles of safe cholecystectomy and the importance of a staged approach in an unanticipated encounter of anatomical uncertainty, as well as the description of a new variant of duplicated gallbladder.

Abstract
Five fruit and vegetable byproducts were evaluated as carbon sources and media for beta-glucan production from Euglena gracilis. Orange peel showed the highest beta-glucan concentration (6.5 g/L) and productivity (1.9 g/L/day) when used as a medium. However, when employed as carbon sources, apple pomace showed the highest beta-glucan concentration (10.6 g/L) and productivity (3.5 g/L/day). The appropriate chemical oxygen demand/nitrogen ratio (71.1) and favorable carbon sources of apple contributed to beta-glucan production. Increasing sugar concentrations in apple pomace and orange peel from 10 to 30 g/L raised the beta-glucan concentration to 11.6 g/L. Using apple pomace and orange peel individually proved more effective than mixing them for beta-glucan production. Therefore, apple as a carbon source is the most effective fruit and vegetables byproduct for beta-glucan production. This is expected to reduce the cost of E. gracilis cultivation on a large-scale and contribute to the circular economy.

Abstract
Chemical and physical elements affecting the production of bacterial extracellular vesicles (BEVs) of the human pathogen Vibrio vulnificus were quantitatively assessed to optimize the conditions for the BEV production by using the western blot quantification for an outer membrane porin OmpU and by fluorescent dye FM4-64. When cells were cultured at 37°C in an enriched medium (2 × Luria Bertani; 2 × LB) in the presence of EDTA, they produced about 70% more BEVs. BEVs were purified from the cells cultured in the established optimal conditions by the density gradient ultracentrifugation. The dynamic light scattering measurement of the purified BEVs showed that the diameter of them ranged from approximately 25 nm to 161 nm. We hypothesized that there may be some features in nucleotide sequences specific to RNAs packaged in BEVs compared to those in cellular RNA molecules. We compared the nucleotide sequences and abundance of sRNAs between in the cellular fraction and in BEVs through next-generation sequencing (NGS). While no distinct feature was observed in the nucleotide sequences of sRNAs between two groups, the length of sRNA fragments from BEVs were significantly shorter than those in cytoplasm.

Abstract
Greenland ice core records exhibited 100-fold higher dust concentrations during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) than during the Holocene, and dust input temporal variability corresponded to different climate states in the LGM. While East Asian deserts, the Sahara, and European loess have been suggested as the potential source areas (PSAs) for Greenland LGM dust, millennial-scale variability in their relative contributions within the LGM remains poorly constrained. Here, we present the morphological, mineralogical, and geochemical characteristics of insoluble microparticles to constrain the provenance of dust in Greenland NEEM ice core samples covering cold Greenland Stadials (GS)-2.1a to GS-3 (~ 14.7 to 27.1 kyr ago) in the LGM. The analysis was conducted on individual particles in microdroplet samples by scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and Raman microspectroscopy. We found that the kaolinite-to-chlorite (K/C) ratios and chemical index of alteration (CIA) values were substantially higher (K/C: 1.4 ± 0.7, CIA: 74.7 ± 2.9) during GS-2.1a to 2.1c than during GS-3 (K/C: 0.5 ± 0.1, CIA: 65.8 ± 2.8). Our records revealed a significant increase in Saharan dust contributions from GS-2.1a to GS-2.1c and that the Gobi Desert and/or European loess were potential source(s) during GS-3. This conclusion is further supported by distinctly different carbon contents in particles corresponding to GS-2.1 and GS-3. These results are consistent with previous estimates of proportional dust source contributions obtained using a mixing model based on Pb and Sr isotopic compositions in NEEM LGM ice and indicate millennial-scale changes in Greenland dust provenance that are probably linked to large-scale atmospheric circulation variabilities during the LGM.

Abstract
The strange quark content of the proton is probed through the measurement of the production cross section for a W boson and a charm (c) quark in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13Te V . The analysis uses a data sample corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 138fb - 1 collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. The W bosons are identified through their leptonic decays to an electron or a muon, and a neutrino. Charm jets are tagged using the presence of a muon or a secondary vertex inside the jet. The W + c production cross section and the cross section ratio R c ± = σ ( W + + c ¯ ) / σ ( W - + c ) are measured inclusively and differentially as functions of the transverse momentum and the pseudorapidity of the lepton originating from the W boson decay. The precision of the measurements is improved with respect to previous studies, reaching 1% in R c ± = 0.950 ± 0.005 (stat) ± 0.010 (syst) . The measurements are compared with theoretical predictions up to next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics.

Hypoxia promotes proliferation and inhibits myogenesis in broiler satellite cells. Poult Sci 2024; 103:103203. Abstract
Breast muscle myopathies in broilers compromise meat quality and continue to plague the poultry industry. Broiler breast muscle myopathies are characterized by impaired satellite cell (SC)-mediated repair, and localized tissue hypoxia and dysregulation of oxygen homeostasis have been implicated as contributing factors. The present study was designed to test the hypothesis that hypoxia disrupts the ability of SC to differentiate and form myotubes, both of which are key components of myofiber repair, and to determine the extent to which effects are reversed by restoration of oxygen tension. Primary SC were isolated from pectoralis major of young (5 d) Cobb 700 chicks and maintained in growth conditions or induced to differentiate under normoxic (20% O2) or hypoxic (1% O2) conditions for up to 48 h. Hypoxia enhanced SC proliferation while inhibiting myogenic potential, with decreased fusion index and suppressed myotube formation. Reoxygenation after hypoxia partially reversed effects on both proliferation and myogenesis. Western blotting showed that hypoxia diminished myogenin expression, activated AMPK, upregulated proliferation markers, and increased molecular signaling of cellular stress. Hypoxia also promoted accumulation of lipid droplets in myotubes. Targeted RNAseq identified numerous differentially expressed genes across differentiation under hypoxia, including several genes that have been associated with myopathies in vivo. Altogether, these data demonstrate localized hypoxia may influence SC behavior in ways that disrupt muscle repair and promote the formation of myopathies in broilers.

Abstract
Human brain is a complex system composed of many components that interact with each other. A well-designed computational model, usually in the format of partial differential equations (PDEs), is vital to understand the working mechanisms that can explain dynamic and self-organized behaviors. However, the model formulation and parameters are often tuned empirically based on the predefined domain-specific knowledge, which lags behind the emerging paradigm of discovering novel mechanisms from the unprecedented amount of spatiotemporal data. To address this limitation, we sought to link the power of deep neural networks and physics principles of complex systems, which allows us to design explainable deep models for uncovering the mechanistic role of how human brain (the most sophisticated complex system) maintains controllable functions while interacting with external stimulations. In the spirit of optimal control, we present a unified framework to design an explainable deep model that describes the dynamic behaviors of underlying neurobiological processes, allowing us to understand the latent control mechanism at a system level. We have uncovered the pathophysiological mechanism of Alzheimer's disease to the extent of controllability of disease progression, where the dissected system-level understanding enables higher prediction accuracy for disease progression and better explainability for disease etiology than conventional (black box) deep models.

National long-term trends in health-related quality of life using EQ-5D-3L in South Korea, 2008-2021, including the COVID-19 pandemic: a representative serial study of 2.8 million people. Abstract
OBJECTIVE There is a scarcity of literature investigating the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on long-term trends in health-related quality of life (HrQoL) using large-scale and representative data. Thus, we aimed to investigate the nationwide and long-term trends in quality of life (QoL) using the European Quality of Life- 5 dimensions, 3-level version (EQ-5D-3L) from a Korean representative serial study of 2.8 million people, 2008-2021. SUBJECTS AND METHODS This Korean study used data on adults between 2008 and 2021 who participated in the Community Health Survey. Timeframes were categorized as COVID-19 mid-pandemic (2021) and pre-pandemic (2008-2019). The mean EQ-5D-3L index for the whole population and subgroups stratified by demographic characters was evaluated for each timeframe, and differences between before and during the COVID-19 pandemic were also analyzed. RESULTS 2,827,240 adults who responded to the survey, 2008-2021, were eligible for this study. Overall EQ-5D index persistently decreased from 2008-2016, then minimally decreased during the pandemic, still being much higher than forecasted before the COVID-19 pandemic. The reduction in the rate of decline in QoL after the COVID-19 outbreak was especially marked in white-collared, young adults, people with 'good' or 'very good' subjective health, and college-educated or above group. On the other hand, the previously increasing trend of QoL in the elderly group has decelerated during the pandemic, and QoL of the 'very bad' subjective health group recorded the lowest in the whole study period. CONCLUSIONS The present study investigated the long-term trend of QoL in Korean adults using serial data over the past 14 years, with a special emphasis on comparing the pre- and mid-COVID-19 pandemic periods.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Knowledge about determinants of workability is crucial for designing interventions to increase the participation of older employees in the workforce and maintain or increase their productivity levels at work. AIMS This study explored the impact of health conditions and job characteristics on poor work ability. METHODS This study used data from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA) from 2014 to 2020, which is a nationally representative population-based panel study of Korean citizens aged ≥45 years. The KLoSA survey assessed subjective work ability using work ability score. The participants were asked if they had been diagnosed with any underlying diseases by a physician. The job characteristics were assessed in terms of working conditions and satisfaction. Generalized estimating equations were used to calculate the odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals for workers' health-related variables and job characteristics associated with poor work ability. RESULTS The results showed that workers' health-related factors were associated with poor work ability; poor vision (OR = 1.52) and bad hearing ability (OR = 2.37); low gripping strength (OR = 2.29); poor self-rated health (OR = 3.77) and various diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, chronic lung disease, liver disease, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, mental illness, arthritis, prostate disease, gastrointestinal disease and disc disease. Additionally, high physical work demands (OR = 1.51) and low job satisfaction (OR = 4.23) were highly correlated with poor work ability. CONCLUSIONS The findings addressing poor work abilities caused by individuals' health- and job-related factors can help prioritize worker health management and the development of more effective human capital investment strategies at the workplace.

Abstract
The impact of the senescence related microenvironment on cancer prognosis and therapeutic response remains poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the prognostic significance of senescence related tumor microenvironment genes (PSTGs) and their potential implications for immunotherapy response. Using the Cancer Genome Atlas- head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC) data, we identified two subtypes based on the expression of PSTGs, acquired from tumor-associated senescence genes, tumor microenvironment (TME)-related genes, and immune-related genes, using consensus clustering. Using the LASSO, we constructed a risk model consisting of senescence related TME core genes (STCGs). The two subtypes exhibited significant differences in prognosis, genetic alterations, methylation patterns, and enriched pathways, and immune infiltration. Our risk model stratified patients into high-risk and low-risk groups and validated in independent cohorts. The high-risk group showed poorer prognosis and immune inactivation, suggesting reduced responsiveness to immunotherapy. Additionally, we observed a significant enrichment of STCGs in stromal cells using single-cell RNA transcriptome data. Our findings highlight the importance of the senescence related TME in HNSC prognosis and response to immunotherapy. Abstract
Soft bioelectronic technologies for neuroengineering have shown remarkable progress, which include novel soft material technologies and device design strategies. Such technological advances that are initiated from fundamental brain science are applied to clinical neuroscience and provided meaningful promises for significant improvement in the diagnosis efficiency and therapeutic efficacy of various brain diseases recently. System-level integration strategies in consideration of specific disease circumstances can enhance treatment effects further. Here, recent advances in soft implantable bioelectronics for neuroengineering, focusing on materials and device designs optimized for the treatment of intracranial disease environments, are reviewed. Various types of soft bioelectronics for neuroengineering are categorized and exemplified first, and then details for the sensing and stimulating device components are explained. Next, application examples of soft implantable bioelectronics to clinical neuroscience, particularly focusing on the treatment of brain tumor and epilepsy are reviewed. Finally, an ideal system of soft intracranial bioelectronics such as closed-loop-type fully-integrated systems is presented, and the remaining challenges for their clinical translation are discussed.

Abstract
In an era where digital interactions are increasingly prevalent, the challenge of effectively regulating online hate speech has emerged as a crucial societal concern. Balancing the regulation of such speech with the preservation of online freedom of expression is a delicate task, requiring broad consensus among internet users. This study delves into the various factors shaping public attitudes towards the regulation of online hate speech in South Korea. An online survey of 1,000 Internet users provided the data for a structural equation model. Our findings reveal that experiences of victimization by hate speech, online activity such as content uploading, assessment of social harm caused by online hate speech, and assessment on the effectiveness of regulatory measures all play significant roles in garnering support for regulation. Notably, online activity correlates strongly with increased encounters with hate speech. This, in turn, leads to a more profound understanding of its social harm and, consequently, a heightened inclination to support regulatory measures. These insights underscore the growing urgency to address online hate speech, especially as online activity continue to intensify. This study contributes to the discourse on online hate speech regulation by highlighting the complex interplay of personal experience, perceived harm, and efficacy of regulation in shaping public consensus.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The emergence of cancer immunotherapies, notably immune checkpoint inhibitors, has revolutionized anti-cancer treatments. These treatments, however, have been reported to be effective in a limited range of cancers and cause immune-related adverse effects. Thus, for a broader applicability and enhanced responsiveness to solid tumor immunotherapy, immunomodulation of the tumor microenvironment is crucial. Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) has been implicated in reducing immunotherapy responsiveness by promoting M2-type differentiation of macrophages and facilitating cancer cell metastasis. METHODS In this study, we developed macrophage membrane-coated nanoparticles loaded with a TGF-βR1 kinase inhibitor, SD-208 (M[Formula: see text]-SDNP). Inhibitions of M2 macrophage polarization and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of cancer cells were comprehensively evaluated through in vitro and in vivo experiments. Bio-distribution study and in vivo therapeutic effects of M[Formula: see text]-SDNP were investigated in orthotopic breast cancer model and intraveneously injected metastasis model. RESULTS M[Formula: see text]-SDNPs effectively inhibited cancer metastasis and converted the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (cold tumor) into an immunostimulatory tumor microenvironment (hot tumor), through specific tumor targeting and blockade of M2-type macrophage differentiation. Administration of M[Formula: see text]-SDNPs considerably augmented the population of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) in the tumor tissue, thereby significantly enhancing responsiveness to immune checkpoint inhibitors, which demonstrates a robust anti-cancer effect in conjunction with anti-PD-1 antibodies. CONCLUSION Collectively, responsiveness to immune checkpoint inhibitors was considerably enhanced and a robust anti-cancer effect was demonstrated with the combination treatment of M[Formula: see text]-SDNPs and anti-PD-1 antibody. This suggests a promising direction for future therapeutic strategies, utilizing bio-inspired nanotechnology to improve the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a widespread, recurrent, and chronic inflammatory skin condition that imposes a major burden on patients. Conventional treatments, such as corticosteroids, are associated with various side effects, underscoring the need for innovative therapeutic approaches. In this study, the possibility of using indole-3-acetic acid-loaded layered double hydroxides (IAA-LDHs) is evaluated as a novel treatment for AD. IAA is an auxin-class plant hormone with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Following the synthesis of IAA-LDH nanohybrids, their ability to induce M2-like macrophage polarization in macrophages obtained from mouse bone marrow is assessed. The antioxidant activity of IAA-LDH is quantified by assessing the decrease in intracellular reactive oxygen species levels. The anti-inflammatory and anti-atopic characteristics of IAA-LDH are evaluated in a mouse model of AD by examining the cutaneous tissues, immunological organs, and cells. The findings suggest that IAA-LDH has great therapeutic potential as a candidate for AD treatment based on its in vitro and in vivo modulation of AD immunology, enhancement of macrophage polarization, and antioxidant activity. This inorganic drug delivery technology represents a promising new avenue for the development of safe and effective AD treatments.

Risk of adverse obstetric outcomes in patients with a history of endometrial cancer: A nationwide population-based cohort study. BJOG 2023; 130:1662-1668. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate adverse obstetric outcomes in women with a history of endometrial cancer (EC). DESIGN Population-based cohort study. SETTING The Korean National Health Insurance (KNHI) claims database. POPULATION Women who gave birth between 2009 and 2016, with a history of EC prior to pregnancy. METHODS The KNHI database was used to compare obstetric outcomes of women with and without a history of EC, using the ICD-10 codes. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to determine the associations between a history of EC and adverse obstetric outcomes. MAIN OUTCOMES MEASURES Adverse obstetric outcomes. RESULTS Overall, 248 and 3 335 359 women with and without a history of EC, respectively, gave birth. When adjusted for age, primiparity and comorbidities, an increased risk of multiple gestations (odds ratio [OR] 4.925, 95% confidence interval [CI] 3.394-7.147), caesarean delivery (OR 2.005, 95% CI 1.535-2.62) and preterm birth (OR 1.941, 95% CI 1.107-3.404) was observed among women with a history of EC. We were unable to demonstrate significant differences in the risk of pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, vacuum delivery, placenta praevia, placenta accreta spectrum, placental abruption and postpartum haemorrhage between the groups. In the sensitivity analyses excluding multiple gestations, an increased risk of preterm birth was not observed among women with a history of EC (OR 1.276, 95% CI 0.565-2.881). CONCLUSIONS There is no convincing evidence of an increased risk of adverse obstetric outcomes among women with a history of EC. Our findings would be useful in counselling of patients with EC who are undergoing fertility-sparing treatment.

Abstract
Water quality is substantially influenced by a multitude of dynamic and interrelated variables, including climate conditions, landuse and seasonal changes. Deep learning models have demonstrated predictive power of water quality due to the superior ability to automatically learn complex patterns and relationships from variables. Long short-term memory (LSTM), one of deep learning models for water quality prediction, is a type of recurrent neural network that can account for longer-term traits of time-dependent data. It is the most widely applied network used to predict the time series of water quality variables. First, we reviewed applications of a standalone LSTM and discussed its calculation time, prediction accuracy, and good robustness with process-driven numerical models and the other machine learning. This review was expanded into the LSTM model with data pre-processing techniques, including the Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise method and Synchrosqueezed Wavelet Transform. The review then focused on the coupling of LSTM with a convolutional neural network, attention network, and transfer learning. The coupled networks demonstrated their performance over the standalone LSTM model. We also emphasized the influence of the static variables in the model and used the transformation method on the dataset. Outlook and further challenges were addressed. The outlook for research and application of LSTM in hydrology concludes the review.

Abstract
Understanding the role of parton mass and Casimir color factors in the quantum chromodynamics parton shower represents an important step in characterizing the emission properties of heavy quarks. Recent experimental advances in jet substructure techniques have provided the opportunity to isolate and characterize gluon emissions from heavy quarks. In this Letter, the first direct experimental constraint on the charm-quark splitting function is presented, obtained via the measurement of the groomed shared momentum fraction of the first splitting in charm jets, tagged by a reconstructed D^{0} meson. The measurement is made in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, in the low jet transverse-momentum interval of 15≤p_{T}^{jet ch}<30 GeV/c where the emission properties are sensitive to parton mass effects. In addition, the opening angle of the first perturbative emission of the charm quark, as well as the number of perturbative emissions it undergoes, is reported. Comparisons to measurements of an inclusive-jet sample show a steeper splitting function for charm quarks compared with gluons and light quarks. Charm quarks also undergo fewer perturbative emissions in the parton shower, with a reduced probability of large-angle emissions.

Abstract
mRNA-based protein replacement therapy has received much attention as a novel intervention in clinical disease treatment. Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are widely used for their therapeutic potential to efficiently deliver mRNA. However, clinical translation has been hampered by the immunogenicity of LNPs that may aggravate underlying disease states. Here, we report a novel ionizable LNP with enhanced potency and safety. The piperazine-based biodegradable ionizable lipid (244cis) was developed for LNP formulation and its level of protein expression and immunogenicity in the target tissue was evaluated. It was found that 244cis LNP enabled substantial expression of the target protein (human erythropoietin), while it minimally induced the secretion of monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1) as compared to other conventional LNPs. Selective lung targeting of 244cis LNP was further investigated in tdTomato transgenic mice with bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis (PF). The repeated administration of 244cis LNP with Cre recombinase mRNA achieved complete transfection of lung endothelial cells (~80%) and over 40% transfection of Sca-1-positive fibroblasts. It was shown that 244cis LNP allows the repeated dose of mRNA without the loss of activity due to its low immunogenicity. Our results demonstrate that 244cis LNP has great potential for the treatment of chronic diseases in the lungs with improved potency and safety.

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to find acoustic correlates of perceived personality from the speech produced in a formal communicative setting-that of Korean customer service employees in particular. This work extended previous research on voice personality impressions to a different sociocultural and linguistic context in which speakers are expected to speak politely in a formal register. To use naturally produced speech rather than read speech, we devised a new method that successfully elicited spontaneous speech from speakers who were role-playing as customer service employees, while controlling for the words and sentence structures they used. We then examined a wide range of acoustic properties in the utterances, including voice quality and global acoustic and segmental properties using Principal Component Analysis. Subjects of the personality rating task listened to the utterances and rated perceived personality in terms of the Big-Five personality traits. While replicating some previous findings, we discovered several acoustic variables that exclusively accounted for the personality judgments of female speakers; a more modal voice quality increased perceived conscientiousness and neuroticism, and less dispersed formants reflecting a larger body size increased the perceived levels of extraversion and openness. These biases in personality perception likely reflect gender and occupation-related stereotypes that exist in South Korea. Our findings can also serve as a basis for developing and evaluating synthetic speech for Voice Assistant applications in future studies.

Abstract
Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell immunotherapy is revolutionizing treatment for patients suffering from B-cell lymphoma (BL). However, the current method of CAR T cell production is complicated and expensive, requiring collection of patient blood to enrich the T cell population, ex vivo engineering/activation, and quality assessment before the patient can receive the treatment. Herein we leverage Spleen Selective ORgan Targeted (SORT) Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs) to produce CAR T cells in situ and bypass the extensive and laborious process currently used. Optimized Spleen SORT LNPs containing 10 % 18 : 1 PA transfected CD3+, CD8+, and CD4+ T cells in wild-type mice. Spleen SORT LNPs delivered Cre recombinase mRNA and CAR encoding mRNA to T cells in reporter mice and in a lymphoreplete B cell lymphoma model (respectively) after intravenous injection without the need for active targeting ligands. Moreover, in situ CAR T cells increased the overall survival of mice with a less aggressive form of B cell lymphoma. In addition, in situ transfected CAR T cells reduced tumor metastasis to the liver by increasing tumor infiltrating lymphocytes. Overall, these results offer a promising alternative method for CAR T cell production with pre-clinical potential to treat hematological malignancies.

Abstract
The mass of the top quark is measured in 36.3fb - 1 of LHC proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS detector at s = 13 Te V . The measurement uses a sample of top quark pair candidate events containing one isolated electron or muon and at least four jets in the final state. For each event, the mass is reconstructed from a kinematic fit of the decay products to a top quark pair hypothesis. A profile likelihood method is applied using up to four observables per event to extract the top quark mass. The top quark mass is measured to be 171.77 ± 0.37 Ge V . This approach significantly improves the precision over previous measurements.

Pan-cancer analysis reveals multifaceted roles of retrotransposon-fusion RNAs. BIORXIV : THE PREPRINT SERVER FOR BIOLOGY 2023:2023.10.16.562422. Abstract
Transposon-derived transcripts are abundant in RNA sequences, yet their landscape and function, especially for fusion transcripts derived from unannotated or somatically acquired transposons, remains underexplored. Here, we developed a new bioinformatic tool to detect transposon-fusion transcripts in RNA-sequencing data and performed a pan-cancer analysis of 10,257 cancer samples across 34 cancer types as well as 3,088 normal tissue samples. We identified 52,277 cancer-specific fusions with ~30 events per cancer and hotspot loci within transposons vulnerable to fusion formation. Exonization of intronic transposons was the most prevalent genic fusions, while somatic L1 insertions constituted a small fraction of cancer-specific fusions. Source L1s and HERVs, but not Alus showed decreased DNA methylation in cancer upon fusion formation. Overall cancer-specific L1 fusions were enriched in tumor suppressors while Alu fusions were enriched in oncogenes, including recurrent Alu fusions in EZH2 predictive of patient survival. We also demonstrated that transposon-derived peptides triggered CD8+ T-cell activation to the extent comparable to EBV viruses. Our findings reveal distinct epigenetic and tumorigenic mechanisms underlying transposon fusions across different families and highlight transposons as novel therapeutic targets and the source of potent neoantigens.

Abstract
We present an observation of photon-photon production of τ lepton pairs in ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions. The measurement is based on a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 404 μb^{-1} collected by the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. The γγ→τ^{+}τ^{-} process is observed for τ^{+}τ^{-} events with a muon and three charged hadrons in the final state. The measured fiducial cross section is σ(γγ→τ^{+}τ^{-})=4.8±0.6(stat)±0.5(syst) μb, where the second (third) term corresponds to the statistical (systematic) uncertainty in σ(γγ→τ^{+}τ^{-}) in agreement with leading-order QED predictions. Using σ(γγ→τ^{+}τ^{-}), we estimate a model-dependent value of the anomalous magnetic moment of the τ lepton of a_{τ}=0.001_{-0.089}^{+0.055}.

Abstract
In the human pathogen Vibrio vulnificus, the quorum-sensing (QS) signal molecule cyclo-(L-phenylalanine-L-proline) (cFP) plays a critical role in triggering a signaling pathway involving the components LeuO-vHUαβ-RpoS-KatG via the membrane signal receptor ToxR. In this study, we investigated the impact of iron on the expression of these signaling components. We found that the transcription of the membrane sensor protein ToxR was not significantly affected by Fur-iron. However, Fur-iron repressed the transcription of genes encoding all the downstream cytoplasmic components in this pathway by binding to the upstream regions of these genes. Consequently, the expression of genes regulated by the alternative sigma factor RpoS, as well as the resistance to hydrogen peroxide conferred by KatG, were repressed. Additionally, we observed that in Vibrio cholerae, genes dependent on ToxR showed higher expression levels in a fur-deletion mutant compared to the wild type. These findings indicate that iron, in association with Fur, represses virtually all the cytoplasmic components responsible for the ToxR-dependent cFP-signaling pathways in these two pathogenic Vibrio species. This study, along with our previous reports demonstrating the repression of components involved in AI-2 dependent QS signaling by Fur-iron, highlights the crucial role of iron in quorum-sensing regulation, which is closely associated with the pathogenicity of this human pathogen.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Neutron therapy is a form of high linear energy transfer (LET) radiation treatment shown to be beneficial for the treatment of locally advanced head and neck cancers (HNC) resistant to low LET x-ray and proton therapy treatments. The Clinical Neutron Therapy System (CNTS) at our institution has been in clinical operation for over 35 years, and over 3,400 patients have been treated using 3D conformal neutron radiation therapy. In October of 2022, the clinical commissioning of IMNT was completed and the first-ever patient was treated. A novel patient specific quality assurance (PSQA) program has been developed to support IMNT. We present an analysis of our early experiences and PSQA findings for the first 16+ patients treated with IMNT. MATERIALS/METHODS Our pre-treatment IMNT PSQA program includes (1) ionization chamber measurements, (2) a log-file analysis of treatment delivery, and (3) a γ-analysis of the expected and measured doses (fluences) from a novel positron emission portal imaging system based on 12C(n,2n)11C reactions. Patient setup is confirmed on a daily basis with kV portal imaging. We use a modulation factor (MF), defined as the total number of monitor units (MU)/prescribed dose (cGy) per fraction, to identify and help anticipate IMNT plans that may fail our PSQA program. RESULTS We have found that IMNT treatments for large, irregularly shaped treatment volumes (e.g., chest wall or head and neck cancers that require treatment of nodes in the lower neck) are more likely to fail PSQA when the MF exceeds 3 MU/cGy. For smaller, more spherical treatment volumes (e.g., base of tongue cancers), plans with a MF up to 3.5 MU/cGy pass our PSQA criteria. Re-optimized plans subsequently passed PSQA with insignificant or no change in tumor coverage and organ-at-risk (OAR) dose. Re-optimized plans also reduced the total number of MU and number of segments, which has the added benefit of decreasing the overall treatment time and patient time on the table. About 10% of early IMNT patients have required plan re-optimization. CONCLUSION Our pre-treatment clinical PSQA program and workflow provides useful information to guide IMNT treatment planning and delivery, and helps ensure the safe and accurate delivery of IMNT. Our early experiences suggest IMNT plans with smaller MF values are more likely to pass PSQA than plans with larger values of the MF.

The Feasibility of Fast, Four-Dimensional Computed Tomography-Based O-Ring Linac Plans for Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy in Patients with Poor Performance Status. Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) As patients with poor performance status cannot endure long treatment times, it can lead to unplanned and prolonged radiation treatment or discontinuation of treatment. Moreover, prolonged radiation treatment appears to negatively affect survival for patients. We aimed to verify the feasibility of fast 4DCT-based O-ring linear accelerator (LINAC) treatment in lung 4D stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). MATERIALS/METHODS This study included data of 38 patients who received lung 4D-SBRT. Gating20-70% plans were based on 4DCT data obtained at phase values ranging from 20-70% using a C-arm LINAC. Non-GatingFB plans were retrospectively established based on 4DCT data obtained at phase values of 0-90% using an O-ring LINAC. The prescribed dose of 4,800 cGy was delivered to PTV in four fractions. The conformity index (CI), homogeneity index (HI), and gradient measurement (GM) of the PTV were analyzed to compare dosimetric data between Gating20-70% and Non-GatingFB plans. Organs at risks (OARs) were analyzed in accordance with the RTOG 0915 protocol. Treatment delivery time and total monitor units (MU) were analyzed to compare the efficiency of treatment delivery. Statistical comparisons were performed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test (p<0.05). RESULTS For the PTV, there was no significant difference in the CI or HI between Gating20-70% and Non-GatingFB plans (CI: 1.337±0.137, 1.335±0.174, HI: 0.939±0.015, 0.939±0.016, all at p>0.05). However, there was a significant difference in GM between Gating20-70% and Non-GatingFB plan (1.528±0.206 cm, 1.381±0.222 cm, p<0.001). For OARs, all plans met the criteria for dose constraint. There was a significant difference between Gating20-70% and Non-GatingFB plans except in the spinal cord. In particular, D1000cc and D1500cc values for the ipsilateral lung for Gating20-70% plans were 31.6% and 59.9% lower than those for Non-GatingFB plans (D1000cc: 50.780±132.061 cGy, 34.755±102.480 cGy, p<0.001, D1500cc: 6.641±14.598 cGy, 2.666±7.926 cGy, p<0.001). Treatment delivery time was 92% longer for Gating20-70% plans than for Non-GatingFB plans (5.0±0.4 min, 9.6±3.3 min, p = 0.043). The total MU value for Gating20-70% plans was 9.6% higher than that for Non-GatingFB plans (3665.8±230.7, 4016±236.9, p = 0.039). CONCLUSION When compared to OARs both plans were acceptable per RTOG-0915 protocol, but significant differences were between Non-GatingFB and Gating20-70% plans. However, treatment delivery time of Non-GatingFB plans decreased by 47.9% than Gating20-70% plans. We verified the feasibility of fast 4DCT-based O-ring LINAC treatment for patients who cannot endure long treatment times due to poor performance status in lung 4D-SBRT. In further study, we will analyze dosimetric differences and treatment delivery efficiency considering tumor motion according to tumor location.

Advances in rectal cancer: Real-world evidence suggests limited gains in prognosis for elderly patients. Cancer Epidemiol 2023; 86:102440. Abstract
BACKGROUND Rectal cancer treatment has improved considerably due to the introduction of total meso-rectal excision, radio-chemotherapy, and high-resolution imaging. The aim of this observational cohort study was to quantify the effectiveness of these advances using high-quality data from a representative cohort of patients. METHODS 20 281 non-metastasized cases retrieved from the Munich Cancer Registry database were divided into three time periods corresponding to before (1988-1997), partial (1998-2007), and full implementation (2008-2019) of clinical advances. Early-onset (<50 yrs.), middle-aged, elderly patient subgroups (> 70 yrs.) were compared. The overall effectiveness of evidence-based guideline adherence was also examined. RESULTS Median survival improved by 1.5 yrs. from the first to the last time period. Relative survival increased from 74.9% (5-yr 95%CI[73.3 - 76.6]) to 79.2% (95%CI[77.8 - 80.5]). The incidence of locoregional recurrences was reduced dramatically by more than half (5-yr 17.7% (95%CI[16.5 - 18.8]); 6.7% (95%CI[6.1 - 7.3])). Gains in 5-yr relative survival were limited to early-onset and middle-aged patients with no significant improvement seen in elderly patients (Female 68.6% [63.9 - 73.3] to 67.6% [64.0 - 71.2]; Male 71.7% [65.9 - 77.4] to 74.0% [70.8 - 77.2]). CONCLUSIONS Real-world evidence suggests that recent treatment advances have lead to an increase in prognosis for rectal cancer patients. However, more effort should be made to improve the implementation of new developments in elderly patients. Especially considering, that these cases represent a growing majority of diagnosed patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) In this study, we evaluated whether the classification of bladder shape affects the absorbed dose (Gy) of OARs and its geometrical position to normal organs in MR-guided intracavitary brachytherapy (ICBT). MATERIALS/METHODS In this study, 269 patients who underwent MR-guided ICBT for cervical cancer from 2016 to 2022 were included. The applicator-inserted bladder filling type (BFT) classification was divided into three types (tilted, curved, and other shapes: group E). The anatomical positional relationship between the uterus and its surroundings was measured on pre-MR images and ICBT simulation MR images. Spearman's rank correlation analysis was used for bladder volume and OAR dose according to BFT. Anatomical differences were analyzed by ANOVA by measuring the distance from the center to both bladder walls. RESULTS In the correlation analysis considering the shape of the bladder, the tilted, curved, and group E had Spearman's ρ of 0.211; -0.323, 0.412; -0.307 and -0.035; -0.209 for maximum absorbed dose (D2cc) of bladder and small bowel, respectively. It was statistically significant in the tilted type and curved type. The average left and right bladder lengths differences of the tilted type were the highest at 8.47 cm and 7.11 cm, respectively. It was a statistically significant between bladder shape and the difference in left and right bladder lengths differences (p< 0.01). CONCLUSION In this study, it was confirmed that bladder distension increased the maximum bladder dose (D2cc) and decreased the maximum bowel dose (D2cc) to the tilted type and curved type. In addition, if the left and right bladder lengths are measured in pre-MR, the degree of bladder distension can be evaluated in advance by checking the shape of the bladder in the case of the tilting type before ICBT. Based on these findings, a prospective study is needed to evaluate the effect of ICBT on cervical cancer treatment outcomes through bladder type classification.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) The aim of this study was to evaluate the treatment outcomes and potential dose-response relationship of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for pulmonary metastasis of sarcoma. MATERIALS/METHODS A retrospective review of 39 patients and 71 lesions treated with SBRT from two institutions was performed. The patients had oligometastatic or oligoprogressive disease, or were receiving palliation. Doses of 20-60 Gy were delivered in 1-5 fractions. The local control per tumor (LCpT) was evaluated according to the biologically effective dose with an α/β ratio of 10 (BED10) of the prescribed dose (BED10 ≥ 100 Gy vs. BED10 < 100 Gy). Clinical outcomes per patient, including local control per patient (LCpP), pulmonary progression-free rate (PPFR), any progression-free rate (APFR), and overall survival (OS) were investigated. RESULTS The median follow-up period was 27.2 months. The 1-, 2-, and 3-year LCpT rates for the entire cohort were 100.0%, 88.3%, and 73.6%, respectively. There was no observed difference in LCpT between the two BED10 groups (p = 0.180). The 3-year LCpP, PPFR, APFR, and OS rates were 78.1%, 22.7%, 12.9%, and 83.7%, respectively. Five (12.8%) patients with oligometastasis had long-term disease-free intervals, with a median survival period of 40.7 months. Factors that were associated with a worse prognosis were oligoprogression (vs. oligometastasis), multiple pulmonary metastases, and simultaneous extrathoracic metastasis. CONCLUSION SBRT for pulmonary metastasis of sarcoma is effective. Some selected patients may achieve durable response. Considerations of SBRT indication and disease extent may be needed as they may influence the prognosis.

Abstract
Electrostatic interactions contribute critically to the kinetic pathways and thermodynamic outcomes of peptide self-assembly involving one or more than one charged amino acids. While it is well understood in protein folding that those amino acids with acidic/basic side chains could shift their pKas when placed in a hydrophobic microenvironment, to what extent aggregation of monomeric peptide units from the bulk solution could alter their charged status and how this change in pKa values would reciprocally impact their assembly outcomes. Here, we design and analyze two solution systems containing peptide amphiphiles with hydrocarbon chains of different lengths to determine the factor of deprotonation on assembly. Our results suggest that models of supramolecular nanofibers with uniformly distributed, fully charged amino acids are oversimplified. We demonstrate, with molecular dynamics simulations, and validate with experimental results that asymmetric, different protonation states of the peptides lead to distinct nanostructures after self-assembly. The results give estimates on the electrostatic interactions in peptide amphiphiles required for their self-assembly and shed light on modeling molecular assembly systems containing charged amino acids.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the impact of ocular demodicosis on dry eye disease (DED) and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) across different age populations: young (20 to < 40), middle-aged (40 to < 60), and elderly (≥ 60), based on the retrospective medical chart review. In each age subgroup, Demodex infestation and its count were correlated with clinical parameters of DED and MGD. Among the total of 351 subjects, 52.7% had ocular demodicosis, with a mean of 2.31 ± 1.39 mites per four eyelashes (0.58 per lash) in a unilateral eye. In the age subgroup 1 (age < 40; N = 44), subjects with Demodex had significantly higher meibum quality grades. In subgroup 2 (40 ≤ age < 60; N = 122), subjects with Demodex had higher ocular surface disease index scores and higher MG expressibility grades. However, in subgroup 3 (age ≥ 60; N = 185), demographics and all parameters did not differ according to Demodex infestation. Moreover, the number of mites did not correlate with MGD severity in any of the subgroups. In conclusion, age may act as a significant confounding factor in the relationship between ocular Demodex infestation and clinical features of DED and MGD, despite older patients aged 60 years and above being at a higher risk of Demodex infestation and experiencing more severe MGD.

The Korean Speech Recognition Sentences: A Large Corpus for Evaluating Semantic Context and Language Experience in Speech Perception. Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to develop and validate a large Korean sentence set with varying degrees of semantic predictability that can be used for testing speech recognition and lexical processing. METHOD Sentences differing in the degree of final-word predictability (predictable, neutral, and anomalous) were created with words selected to be suitable for both native and nonnative speakers of Korean. Semantic predictability was evaluated through a series of cloze tests in which native (n = 56) and nonnative (n = 19) speakers of Korean participated. This study also used a computer language model to evaluate final-word predictabilities; this is a novel approach that the current study adopted to reduce human effort in validating a large number of sentences, which produced results comparable to those of the cloze tests. In a speech recognition task, the sentences were presented to native (n = 23) and nonnative (n = 21) speakers of Korean in speech-shaped noise at two levels of noise. RESULTS The results of the speech-in-noise experiment demonstrated that the intelligibility of the sentences was similar to that of related English corpora. That is, intelligibility was significantly different depending on the semantic condition, and the sentences had the right degree of difficulty for assessing intelligibility differences depending on noise levels and language experience. CONCLUSIONS This corpus (1,021 sentences in total) adds to the target languages available in speech research and will allow researchers to investigate a range of issues in speech perception in Korean. Abstract
The most precise measurements to date of the _{Λ}^{3}H lifetime τ and Λ separation energy B_{Λ} are obtained using the data sample of Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV collected by ALICE at the LHC. The _{Λ}^{3}H is reconstructed via its charged two-body mesonic decay channel (_{Λ}^{3}H→^{3}He+π^{-} and the charge-conjugate process). The measured values τ=[253±11(stat)±6(syst)] ps and B_{Λ}=[102±63(stat)±67(syst)] keV are compatible with predictions from effective field theories and confirm that the _{Λ}^{3}H structure is consistent with a weakly bound system.

Abstract
We present the first direct search for exotic Higgs boson decays H→AA, A→γγ in events with two photonlike objects. The hypothetical particle A is a low-mass spin-0 particle decaying promptly to a merged diphoton reconstructed as a single photonlike object. We analyze the data collected by the CMS experiment at sqrt[s]=13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 136 fb^{-1}. No excess above the estimated background is found. We set upper limits on the branching fraction B(H→AA→4γ) of (0.9-3.3)×10^{-3} at 95% confidence level for masses of A in the range 0.1-1.2 GeV.

Abstract
Despite advances in a wide range of device applications of hydrogels, including implantable ones, a method for deploying patterned hydrogel devices into the body in a minimally-invasive manner is not available yet. However, in situ patterning of the hydrogel in vivo has an obvious advantage, by which incision surgery for implantation of the hydrogel device can be avoided. Here, a minimally-invasive and in vivo hydrogel patterning method for in situ fabrication of implantable hydrogel devices is presented. The sequential application of injectable hydrogels and enzymes, with assistance of minimally-invasive surgical instruments, enables the in vivo and in situ hydrogel patterning. This patterning method can be achieved by adopting an appropriate combination of the sacrificial mold hydrogel and the frame hydrogel, in consideration of unique material properties of the hydrogels such as high softness, facile mass transfer, biocompatibility, and diverse crosslinking mechanisms. In vivo and in situ patterning of the hydrogels functionalized with nanomaterials is also demonstrated to fabricate the wireless heater and tissue scaffold, showcasing broad applicability of the patterning method.

Abstract
The first observation of the production of W^{±}W^{±} bosons from double parton scattering processes using same-sign electron-muon and dimuon events in proton-proton collisions is reported. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1} recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV using the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. Multivariate discriminants are used to distinguish the signal process from the main backgrounds. A binned maximum likelihood fit is performed to extract the signal cross section. The measured cross section for production of same-sign W bosons decaying leptonically is 80.7±11.2(stat) _{-8.6}^{+9.5}(syst)±12.1(model) fb, whereas the measured fiducial cross section is 6.28±0.81(stat)±0.69(syst)±0.37(model) fb. The observed significance of the signal is 6.2 standard deviations above the background-only hypothesis.

Abstract
Multijet events at large transverse momentum (p T ) are measured at s = 13 Te V using data recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.3 fb - 1 . The multiplicity of jets with p T > 50 Ge V that are produced in association with a high-p T dijet system is measured in various ranges of the p T of the jet with the highest transverse momentum and as a function of the azimuthal angle difference Δ ϕ 1 , 2 between the two highest p T jets in the dijet system. The differential production cross sections are measured as a function of the transverse momenta of the four highest p T jets. The measurements are compared with leading and next-to-leading order matrix element calculations supplemented with simulations of parton shower, hadronization, and multiparton interactions. In addition, the measurements are compared with next-to-leading order matrix element calculations combined with transverse-momentum dependent parton densities and transverse-momentum dependent parton shower.
