Abstract
This study investigates the influence of optical excitation on the self-assembly of triangular nanoprisms of silver into a continuous monolayer at the air-water interface. Langmuir monolayers of octadecylamine (ODA) have been used to electrostatically assemble citrate-capped silver triangular nanoprisms (AgTNPs) in the presence and absence of light. Under optical excitation, the nanoprisms were observed to assemble into a well-ordered monolayer through plasmon-mediated stitching, whereas the particles were merely in close contact during assembly in the dark. These findings suggest new avenues for tailoring particle properties through light-mediated assembly in two dimensions.

Abstract
A nanozyme is a nanoscale material having enzyme-like properties. It exhibits several superior properties, including low preparation cost, robust catalytic activity, and long-term storage at ambient temperatures. Moreover, high stability enables repetitive use in multiple catalytic reactions. Hence, it is considered a potential replacement for natural enzymes. Enormous research interest in nanozymes in the past two decades has made it imperative to look for better enzyme-mimicking materials for biomedical applications. Given this, research on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as a potential nanozyme material has gained momentum. MOFs are advanced hybrid materials made of inorganic metal ions and organic ligands. Their distinct composition, adaptable pore size, structural diversity, and ease in the tunability of physicochemical properties enable MOFs to mimic enzyme-like activities and act as promising nanozyme candidates. This review aims to discuss recent advances in the development of MOF-based nanozymes (MOF-NZs) and highlight their applications in the field of biomedicine. Firstly, different enzyme-mimetic activities exhibited by MOFs are discussed, and insights are given into various strategies to achieve them. Modification and functionalization strategies are deliberated to obtain MOF-NZs with enhanced catalytic activity. Subsequently, applications of MOF-NZs in the biosensing and therapeutics domain are discussed. Finally, the review is concluded by giving insights into the challenges encountered with MOF-NZs and possible directions to overcome them in the future. With this review, we aim to encourage consolidated efforts across enzyme engineering, nanotechnology, materials science, and biomedicine disciplines to inspire exciting innovations in this emerging yet promising field.

Abstract
Due to the increase in urbanization and industrialization, the load of toxicants in the environment is alarming. The most common toxicants, including heavy metals and metalloids such as hexavalent Chromium, have severe pathophysiological impacts on humans and other aquatic biotas. Therefore, developing a portable rapid detection device for such toxicants in the aquatic environment is necessary. This work portrays the development of a field-portable image analysis device coupled with 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) as a sensing probe for chromium (VI) detection in the aquatic ecosystem. Sensor parameters, such as reagent concentration, reaction time, etc., were optimized for the sensor development and validation using a commercial UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The chemoreceptor integrated with a uniform illumination imaging system (UIIS) revealed the system's applicability toward Cr(VI) detection. The calibration curve using the R-value of image parameters allows Cr(VI) detection in the linear range of 25 to 600 ppb, which covers the prescribed permissible limit by various regulatory authorities. Furthermore, the adjusted R2 = 0.992 of the linear fit and correlation coefficients of 0.99018 against the spectrophotometric method signifies the suitability of the developed system. This TMB-coupled field-portable sensing system is the first-ever reported image analysis-based technology for detecting a wide range of Cr(VI) in aquatic ecosystems to our knowledge.

Abstract
Designing unique nanomaterials for the selective sensing of biomolecules is of significant interest in the field of nanobiotechnology. In this work, we demonstrated the synthesis of ordered Cu nanoparticle-functionalised mesoporous C3 N5 that has unique peroxidase-like nanozymatic activity for the ultrasensitive and selective detection of glucose and glutathione. A nano hard-templating technique together with the in-situ polymerisation and self-assembly of Cu and high N-containing CN precursor was adopted to introduce mesoporosity as well as high N and Cu content in mesoporous C3 N5 . Due to the ordered structure and highly dispersed Cu in the mesoporous C3 N5 , a large enhancement of the peroxidase mimetic activity in the oxidation of a redox dye in the presence of hydrogen peroxide could be obtained. Additionally, the optimised Cu-functionalised mesoporous C3 N5 exhibited excellent sensitivity to glutathione with a low detection limit of 2.0 ppm. The strong peroxidase activity of the Cu-functionalised mesoporous C3 N5 was also effectively used for the sensing of glucose with a detection limit of 0.4 mM through glucose oxidation with glucose oxidase. This unique Cu-functionalised mesoporous C3 N5 has the potential for detecting various molecules in the environment as well as for next-generation glucose and glutathione diagnostic devices.

Abstract
Few-layer black phosphorus (FLBP), a technologically important 2D material, faces a major hurdle to consumer applications: spontaneous degradation under ambient conditions. Blocking the direct exposure of FLBP to the environment has remained the key strategy to enhance its stability, but this can also limit its utility. In this paper, a more ambitious approach to handling FLBP is reported where not only is FLBP oxidation blocked, but it is also repaired postoxidation. Our approach, inspired by nature, employs the antioxidant molecule β-carotene that protects plants against photooxidative damages to act as a protecting and repairing agent for FLBP. The mechanistic role of β-carotene is established by a suite of spectro-microscopy techniques, in combination with computational studies and biochemical assays. Transconductance studies on FLBP-based field effect transistor (FET) devices further affirm the protective and reparative effects of β-carotene. The outcomes indicate the potential for deploying a plethora of natural antioxidant molecules to enhance the stability of other environmentally sensitive inorganic nanomaterials and expedite their translation for technological and consumer applications.

Abstract
The accumulation of protein aggregates as intracellular inclusions interferes with cellular protein homeostasis leading to protein aggregation diseases. Protein aggregation results in the formation of several protein conformers including oligomers and fibrils, where each conformer has its own structural characteristic and proteotoxic potential. The present study explores the effect of alpha-synuclein (α-syn) conformers on the activity and spontaneous refolding of firefly luciferase. Of the different conformers, α-syn monomers delayed the inactivation of luciferase under thermal stress conditions and enhanced the spontaneous refolding of luciferase. In contrast, the α-syn oligomers and fibrils adversely affected luciferase activity and refolding, where the oligomers inhibited spontaneous refolding, whereas a pronounced effect on the inactivation of native luciferase was observed in the case of fibrils. These results indicate that the oligomers and fibrils of α-syn interfere with the refolding of luciferase and promote its misfolding and aggregation. The study reveals the differential propensities of various conformers of a pathologically relevant protein in causing inactivation, structural modifications and misfolding of other proteins, consequently resulting in altered protein homeostasis.

Abstract
Chemical and biological contaminants are of primary concern in ensuring seafood safety. Rapid detection of such contaminants is needed to keep us safe from being affected. For over three decades, immunoassay (IA) technology has been used for the detection of contaminants in seafood products. However, limitations inherent to antibody generation against small molecular targets that cannot elicit an immune response, along with the instability of antibodies under ambient conditions greatly limit their wider application for developing robust detection and monitoring tools, particularly for non-biomedical applications. As an alternative, aptamer-based biosensors (aptasensors) have emerged as a powerful yet robust analytical tool for the detection of a wide range of analytes. Due to the high specificity of aptamers in recognising targets ranging from small molecules to large proteins and even whole cells, these have been suggested to be viable molecular recognition elements (MREs) in the development of new diagnostic and biosensing tools for detecting a wide range of contaminants including heavy metals, antibiotics, pesticides, pathogens and biotoxins. In this review, we discuss the recent progress made in the field of aptasensors for detection of contaminants in seafood products with a view of effectively managing their potential human health hazards. A critical outlook is also provided to facilitate translation of aptasensors from academic laboratories to the mainstream seafood industry and consumer applications.

Abstract
A molybdenum sulfide/zirconium oxide/Nafion (MoS2/ZrO2/Naf) based electrochemiluminescence (ECL) aptasensor for the selective and ultrasensitive detection of ApoA1 is proposed, with Ru(bpy)3 2+ as the luminophore. The chitosan (CS) modification on the nanocomposite layer allowed glutaraldehyde (GLUT) cross-linking, resulting in the immobilization of ApoA1 aptamers. Scanning electron microscopy, tunneling electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy were used to characterize the nanocomposite, while electrochemiluminescence (ECL), cyclic voltammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to analyze the aptasensor assembly. The nanocomposite was used as an electrode modifier, which increased the intensity of the ECL signal. Due to the anionic environment produced on the sensor surface following the specific interaction of the ApoA1 biomarker with the sensor, more Ru(bpy)3 2+ were able to be electrostatically attached to the aptamer-ApoA1 complex, resulting in enhanced ECL signal. The ECL aptasensor demonstrated outstanding sensitivity for ApoA1 under optimal experimental conditions, with a detection limit of 53 fg/mL and a wide linear dynamic range of 0.1-1000 pg/mL. The potential practical applicability of this aptasensor was validated by analyzing ApoA1 in human serum samples, with recovery rates of 94-108% (n = 3). The proposed assay was found to be substantially better compared to the commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method, as reflected from over 1500 times improvement in the detection limit for ApoA1.

Reactive Oxygen Species Sequestration Induced Synthesis of β-PbO and Its Polymorphic Transformation to α-PbO at Atomically Thin Regimes. ACS NANO 2022; 16:10679-10691. Abstract
The emergence of attractive properties in materials at atomically thin regimes has seen an ongoing interest in two-dimensional (2D) materials. An aspect that has lacked focused attention is the effect of 2D material thickness on its crystal structure. As several layered materials naturally exist in mixed metastable phases, it raises an important question of whether a specific polymorph of these mixed-phase materials will be favored at atomically thin limits. This work attempts to address this issue by employing lead monoxide as a model 2D polymorphic system. We propose a reactive oxygen species (ROS) sequestration-mediated liquid-phase exfoliation (LPE) strategy for the facile synthesis of ultrathin PbO. This is followed by a suite of microscopic and spectroscopic analyses of the PbO nanosheets that reveals the polymorphic transformation of orthorhombic (β) PbO to its tetragonal (α) analogue with reduction in nanosheet thickness. The transformation process reveals an interesting crystal structure of ultrathin 2D PbO where [001]-oriented domains of α-PbO coexist alongside [100]-oriented regions of β-PbO. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations support our experimental data by revealing a higher thermodynamic stability of the tetragonal phase in PbO monolayers. These findings are likely to instigate interest in carefully evaluating the crystal structures of ultrathin 2D materials while promoting research in understanding the phase transformation across a range of 2D crystals.

Abstract
COVID-19 is a viral disease that in the form of a pandemic has spread in the entire world, causing a severe impact on people's well being. In fighting against this deadly disease, a pivotal step can prove to be an effective screening and diagnosing step to treat infected patients. This can be made possible through the use of chest X-ray images. Early detection using the chest X-ray images can prove to be a key solution in fighting COVID-19. Many computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) techniques have sprung up to aid radiologists and provide them a secondary suggestion for the same. In this study, we have proposed the notion of Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC) along with variance thresholding to optimally reduce the feature space of extracted features from the conventional deep learning architectures, ResNet152 and GoogLeNet. Further, these features are classified using machine learning (ML) predictive classifiers for multi-class classification among COVID-19, Pneumonia and Normal. The proposed model is validated and tested on publicly available COVID-19 and Pneumonia and Normal dataset containing an extensive set of 768 images of COVID-19 with 5216 training images of Pneumonia and Normal patients. Experimental results reveal that the proposed model outperforms other previous related works. While the achieved results are encouraging, further analysis on the COVID-19 images can prove to be more reliable for effective classification.

Abstract
Background and objective Inhalation of high concentrations of respirable crystalline silica (RCS) can lead to silicosis. RCS contains varying levels of iron, which can cause oxidative stress and stimulate ferritin production. This study evaluated iron‐related and inflammatory markers in control and silicosis patients. Methods A cohort of stone benchtop industry workers (n = 18) were radiologically classified by disease severity into simple or complicated silicosis. Peripheral blood and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) were collected to measure iron, ferritin, C‐reactive protein, serum amyloid A and serum silicon levels. Ferritin subunit expression in BAL and transbronchial biopsies was analysed by reverse transcription quantitative PCR. Lipid accumulation in BAL macrophages was assessed by Oil Red O staining. Results Serum iron levels were significantly elevated in patients with silicosis, with a strong positive association with serum ferritin levels. In contrast, markers of systemic inflammation were not increased in silicosis patients. Serum silicon levels were significantly elevated in complicated disease. BAL macrophages from silicosis patients were morphologically consistent with lipid‐laden foamy macrophages. Ferritin light chain (FTL) mRNA expression in BAL macrophages was also significantly elevated in simple silicosis patients and correlated with systemic ferritin. Conclusion Our findings suggest that elevated iron levels during the early phases of silicosis increase FTL expression in BAL macrophages, which drives elevated BAL and serum ferritin levels. Excess iron and ferritin were also associated with the emergence of a foamy BAL macrophage phenotype. Ferritin may represent an early disease marker for silicosis, where increased levels are independent of inflammation and may contribute to fibrotic lung remodelling. Silicosis is an aggressive and incurable lung disease. In this study, serum iron levels were increased in silicosis patients, and these levels were strongly associated with serum ferritin levels. Lipid‐laden bronchoalveolar lavage macrophages were identified as a major source of ferritin, whereas markers of inflammation were not increased. See relatedEditorial

Abstract
Gold (Au) is an inert metal in a bulk state; however, it can be used for the preparation of Au nanoparticles (i.e., AuNPs) for multidimensional applications in the field of nanomedicine and nanobiotechnology. Herein, monodisperse concave cube AuNPs (CCAuNPs) were synthesized and functionalized with a natural antioxidant lipoic acid (LA) and a tripeptide glutathione (GSH) because different crystal facets of AuNPs provide binding sites for distinct ligands. There was an ∼10 nm bathochromic shift of the UV-vis spectrum when CCAuNPs were functionalized with LA, and the size of the as-synthesized monodisperse CCAu nanoparticles was 76 nm. The LA-functionalized CCAu nanoparticles (i.e., CCAuLA) showed the highest antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis. Both fluorescence images and scanning electron microscopy images confirm the damage of the bacterial cell wall as the mode of antibacterial activity of CCAuNPs. CCAuNPs also cause the oxidation of bacterial cell membrane fatty acids to produce reactive oxygen species, which pave the way for the death of bacteria. Both CCAu nanoparticles and their functionalized derivatives showed excellent hemocompatibility (i.e., percentage of hemolysis is <5% at 80 μg of AuNPs) to human red blood cells and very high biocompatibility to HeLa, L929, and Chinese hamster ovary-green fluorescent protein (CHO-GFP) cells. Taken together, LA and GSH enhance the antibacterial activity and biocompatibility, respectively, of CCAu nanoparticles that interact with the bacteria through Coulomb as well as hydrophobic interactions before demonstrating antibacterial propensity.

Abstract
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is an infectious disease and has a significant social and economic impact. The main challenge in fighting against this disease is its scale. Due to the outbreak, medical facilities are under pressure due to case numbers. A quick diagnosis system is required to address these challenges. To this end, a stochastic deep learning model is proposed. The main idea is to constrain the deep-representations over a Gaussian prior to reinforce the discriminability in feature space. The model can work on chest X-ray or CT-scan images. It provides a fast diagnosis of COVID-19 and can scale seamlessly. The work presents a comprehensive evaluation of previously proposed approaches for X-ray based disease diagnosis. The approach works by learning a latent space over X-ray image distribution from the ensemble of state-of-the-art convolutional-nets, and then linearly regressing the predictions from an ensemble of classifiers which take the latent vector as input. We experimented with publicly available datasets having three classes: COVID-19, normal and pneumonia yielding an overall accuracy and AUC of 0.91 and 0.97, respectively. Moreover, for robust evaluation, experiments were performed on a large chest X-ray dataset to classify among Atelectasis, Effusion, Infiltration, Nodule, and Pneumonia classes. The results demonstrate that the proposed model has better understanding of the X-ray images which make the network more generic to be later used with other domains of medical image analysis.

Abstract
Mid-wave and long-wave infrared (MWIR and LWIR) detection play vital roles in applications that include health care, remote sensing, and thermal imaging. However, detectors in this spectral range often require complex fabrication processes and/or cryogenic cooling and are typically expensive, which motivates the development of simple alternatives. Here, we demonstrate broadband (0.43-10 μm) room-temperature photodetection based on copper tetracyanoquinodimethane (CuTCNQ), a metal-organic semiconductor, synthesized via a facile wet-chemical reaction. The CuTCNQ crystals are simply drop-cast onto interdigitated electrode chips to realize photoconductors. The photoresponse is governed by a combination of interband (0.43-3.35 μm) and midgap (3.35-10 μm) transitions. The devices show response times (∼365 μs) that would be sufficient for many infrared applications (e.g., video rate imaging), with a frequency cutoff point of 1 kHz.

Abstract
Controlling the kinetics of CuTCNQ (TCNQ = 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane) crystallization has been a major challenge, as CuTCNQ crystallizing on Cu foil during synthesis in conventional solvents such as acetonitrile simultaneously dissolves into the reaction medium. In this work, we address this challenge by using water as a universal co-solvent to control the kinetics of crystallization and growth of phase I CuTCNQ. Water increases the dielectric constant of the reaction medium, shifting the equilibrium toward CuTCNQ crystallization while concomitantly decreasing the dissolution of CuTCNQ. This allows more CuTCNQ to be controllably crystallized on the surface of the Cu foil. Different sizes of CuTCNQ crystals formed on Cu foil under different water/DMSO admixtures influence the solvophilicity of these materials. This has important implications in their catalytic performance, as water-induced changes in the surface properties of these materials can make them highly hydrophilic, which allows the CuTCNQ to act as an efficient catalyst as it brings the aqueous reactants in close vicinity of the catalyst. Evidently, the CuTCNQ synthesized in 30% (v/v) water/DMSO showed superior catalytic activity for ferricyanide reduction with 95% completion achieved within a few minutes in contrast to CuTCNQ synthesized in DMSO that took over 92 min.

Non-invasive detection of glucose in human urine using a color-generating copper NanoZyme. Anal Bioanal Chem 2021; 413:1279-1291. Abstract
Renal complications are long-term effect of diabetes mellitus where glucose is excreted in urine. Therefore, reliable glucose detection in urine is critical. While commercial urine strips offer a simple way to detect urine sugar, poor sensitivity and low reliability limit their use. A hybrid glucose oxidase (GOx)/horseradish peroxidase (HRP) assay remains the gold standard for pathological detection of glucose. A key restriction is poor stability of HRP and its suicidal inactivation by hydrogen peroxide, a key intermediate of the GOx-driven reaction. An alternative is to replace HRP with a robust inorganic enzyme-mimic or NanoZyme. While colloidal NanoZymes show promise in glucose sensing, they detect low concentrations of glucose, while urine has high (mM) glucose concentration. In this study, a free-standing copper NanoZyme is used for the colorimetric detection of glucose in human urine. The sensor could operate in a biologically relevant dynamic linear range of 0.5-15 mM, while showing minimal sample matrix effect such that glucose could be detected in urine without significant sample processing or dilution. This ability could be attributed to the Cu NanoZyme that for the first time showed an ability to promote the oxidation of a TMB substrate to its double oxidation diimine product rather than the charge-transfer complex product commonly observed. Additionally, the sensor could operate at a single pH without the need to use different pH conditions as used during the gold standard assay. These outcomes outline the high robustness of the NanoZyme sensing system for direct detection of glucose in human urine. Graphical abstract.

GOLD SELEX: a novel SELEX approach for the development of high-affinity aptamers against small molecules without residual activity. Mikrochim Acta 2020; 187:618. Abstract
GOLD SELEX, a novel SELEX approach has been developed that obviates the need for target immobilization for aptamer development. The approach purely relies on the affinity of the aptamers towards its target, to get detached from the gold nanoparticle (GNP) surface (weak attraction) after binding with its target. Thus, only the completely detached aptamers are selected for the next round of SELEX. This, in-process, also addresses the issue of residual binding and thus improves the sensitivity of the developed aptamers. As a proof of concept for establishing the utility of the approach for small molecules, we have developed aptamers against dichlorvos (DV), a pesticide in just 8 rounds. Using these aptamer candidates, we have developed an aptamer-NanoZyme (GNP having peroxidase mimic activity) based colorimetric assay. The developed aptamer displayed high affinity (Kd in sub micromolar range) and selectivity for DV. The developed assay could detect as low as 15 μM DV. The best-performing aptamer was also able to work in real samples like river water and commercial apple juice. The GOLD SELEX approach developed in this study, we believe, can act as a template for future SELEX strategy development and can replace the conventional SELEX strategy.

Abstract
Single-atom and single-particle catalysis is an area of considerable topical interest due to their potential in explaining important fundamental processes and applications across several areas. An interesting avenue in single-particle catalysis is spatial control of chemical reactivity within the particle by employing light as an external stimulus. To demonstrate this concept, we report galvanic replacement reactions (GRRs) as a spatial marker of subparticle chemical reactivity of a silver nanoprism with AuCl4- ions under optical excitation. The location of a GRR within a single Ag nanoprism can be spatially controlled depending on the plasmon mode excited. This leads to chemomorphological transformation of Ag nanoprisms into interesting Ag-Au structures. This spatial biasing effect is attributed to localized hot electron injection from the tips and edges of the silver nanoprisms to the adjacent reactants that correlate with excitation of different surface plasmon modes. The study also employs low-energy-loss EELS mapping to additionally probe the spatially confined redox reaction within a silver nanoprism. The findings presented here allow the visualization of a plasmon-driven subparticle chemical transformation with high resolution. The selective optical excitation of surface plasmon eigenmodes of anisotropic nanoparticles offers opportunities to spatially modulate chemical transformations mediated by hot electron transfer.

Abstract
Abstract
Objective: The aim is to demonstrate dynamic in-vivo tracking of CAR T cell therapy for treatment of solid tumors using Cu-64 labeled superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPION) as novel dual PET-MR imaging agent.
Methodology: Cu-64 SPION: Cu-64 radioisotope is bound to silica coated SPION using enhanced electrolysis plating techniques with tin and palladium seeding. Preclinical Model: Mouse splenic T cells were activated with anti-CD3, anti-CD28 & cultured with IL-2 and IL-7, prior to being transduced with second generation anti-Her-2 CAR (scFv-CD28-CD3ζ). 5 x 105 E0771-hHER2 breast tumor cells were implanted subcutaneously into male C57Bl/6-human HER2 transgenic mice. 107 labeled CAR T or control T cells (Cu-64 5-8 MBq) were injected into tail vein. Clinical Model: Activated T cells using antibody CD3 (OKT3) & IL-2 are transduced with retroviral vector constructs encoding for chimeric T-cell receptor specific for Lewis Y antigen. Modified T-cells are further expanded ex-vivo and reinfused. 3 x 108 CAR T cells were labeled with Cu-64 (200 - 300 MBq). Labeling of CAR T cells with Cu-64 SPION: Transfecting agent protamine sulphate facilitated cellular uptake of Cu-64 SPION within cells. Functional assays: 51Chromium release, cytometric bead array and cell viability showed that labeling process did not affect CAR T cell cytotoxicity, cytokine secretion (TNFα and IFN-γ) and viability. CAR T Cell Tracking: Scanning was performed using clinical grade dual PET-MR scanner.
Preliminary Data: In this clinical trial (HREC/16/PMCC/30) patients are being enrolled for first in human in vivo study to determine how many cells distribute to solid tumor sites within first few days of CAR T cell therapy. This is first data that demonstrates that CAR-T cells can be consistently and efficiently labeled (≤60%) with cell viability (≥85%) and at sensitivity comparable to detecting at least z cells at tumor site using clinical grade dual PET-MR scanner. SUVmean values provides insight into individual response to therapy. The observed increase in SUVmax over time specifies localization of CAR T cells at tumor sites.
Clinical data at early time point showed moderate uptake in lungs posterior basal segments without increased activity over next few days, thus suggesting transient process. Mild, diffuse bone marrow and relatively intense uptake in the liver and spleen suggests margination of cells to the reticulo-endothelial system. Distinct PET signal suggests localization of labeled cells in the secondary tumor sites. Little background uptake in important organs such as brain and heart indicate the safety profile of imaging agent. Absence of signal in bladder indicates hepatobiliary excretion, which may allow re-absorption from GI tract and re-circulation.
Distinct PET signal within tumor in preclinical studies confirms trafficking of CAR T cells to tumor site as compared to controls. A negative contrast in the liver on T2 weighted MRI in both the preclinical and clinical studies. Preliminary Conclusion:This is first in human in vivo study to show CAR T cell distribution in real time and provides insight into individual responses of tumors to therapy. CAR T cell functionality largely remain unchanged due to labeling process. The preliminary findings indicate that labeled cells traffic to tumor sites in first few hours of infusion and remain persistent for extended period.

Abstract
Templating has been demonstrated to be an efficient method of nanocapsule preparation. However, there have been no reports of using protein-only nanocapsules as an antigen delivery system. Such a system would enable the delivery of antigen without additional polymers. This study focused on defining the structural and cellular characteristics of nanocapsules consisting of antigen (ovalbumin) alone, synthesized by the templating method using highly monodispersed solid core mesoporous shell (SC/MS) and mesoporous (MS) silica nanoparticles of 410 nm and 41 nm in diameter, respectively. The synthesized ovalbumin nanocapsules were homogeneous in structure, and cellular uptake was observed in DC2.4 murine immature dendritic cells with minimal cytotoxicity. The nanocapsules were localized intracellularly and induced antigen presentation by the cross-presentation pathway. The templating system, using SC/MS and MS silica nanoparticles, was demonstrated to be an effective nanocapsule synthesis method for a new antigen delivery system.

3557 Background: This is a first in human in-vivo biodistribution of ex-vivo labelled CAR T cells assessed in a cohort of patients. Cells were labelled with novel Cu-64 labelled superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPION) and infused IV into patients with solid tumors & tracked using clinical dual PET-MR. The study validates the clinical translation of CAR T cell in-vivo tracking in real time. Methods: Cu-64 radioisotope was bound to silica coated SPION using electrolysis plating with tin & palladium seeding. Cellular uptake of Cu-64 SPION was facilitated with a transfecting agent. Functional assays including 51Chromium release, cytometric bead array demonstrated that labelling process did not affect cytotoxicity & cytokine secretion (TNFα & IFN-g). T cells were transduced with retroviral vector constructs encoding for second-generation chimeric T-cell receptor specific for carbohydrate Lewis Y antigen. Modified T-cells were expanded ex-vivo & were labelled with Cu-64 (~300 MBq) prior to re-infusion (3 x108 labelled cells). Scanning is performed with Siemens 3T dual PET-MR scanner. Results: In this first in human in-vivo study (HREC/16/PMCC/30) a cohort of patients received ex-vivo labelled CAR T cells to determine how many labelled cells distribute to solid tumor sites within 3-5 days. Our results demonstrate that cells can be efficiently labelled (≤60%) with high cell viability (≥85%) at a sensitivity sufficient to detect labelled cells at tumor site for up to 5 days. An observed trend in SUVmean & SUVmax provided insight into efficacy & individual response to therapy. Early time points showed moderate uptake of labelled cells in lungs posterior basal segments without increased activity over next few days, suggesting a transient process. Mild, diffuse bone marrow & relatively intense uptake of labelled cells in liver & spleen suggests margination of cells to reticulo-endothelial system. Distinct PET signal at some of the tumor sites at 24 h suggests antigen specific localization & time taken to reach these sites. Excretion via hepatobiliary indicated reabsorption from GI tract & re-circulation of labelled cells. Minimal uptake in brain & heart supported safety profile of labeling agent. Conclusions: This is first in human in-vivo study to provide highly valuable visual and dynamic data in real time and provides insight into individual responses to therapy. CAR T cell functionality largely remain unchanged due to labeling process. The findings indicate that labelled cells traffic to tumor sites at later time points & remain persistent for extended period of time.

Abstract
Theories beyond the standard model often predict the existence of an additional neutral boson, the Z^{'}. Using data collected by the Belle II experiment during 2018 at the SuperKEKB collider, we perform the first searches for the invisible decay of a Z^{'} in the process e^{+}e^{-}→μ^{+}μ^{-}Z^{'} and of a lepton-flavor-violating Z^{'} in e^{+}e^{-}→e^{±}μ^{∓}Z^{'}. We do not find any excess of events and set 90% credibility level upper limits on the cross sections of these processes. We translate the former, in the framework of an L_{μ}-L_{τ} theory, into upper limits on the Z^{'} coupling constant at the level of 5×10^{-2}-1 for M_{Z^{'}}≤6 GeV/c^{2}.

Abstract
Chromism-based optical filters is a niche field of research, due to there being only a handful of electrochromic materials. Typically, electrochromic transition metal oxides such as MoO3 and WO3 are utilized in applications such as smart windows and electrochromic devices (ECD). Herein, we report MoO3-x-based electrically activated ultraviolet (UV) filters. The MoO3-x grown on indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate is mechanically assembled onto an electrically activated proton exchange membrane. Reversible H+ injection/extraction in MoO3-x is employed to switch the optical transmittance, enabling an electrically activated optical filter. The devices exhibit broadband transmission modulation (325-800 nm), with a peak of ∼60% in the UV-A range (350-392 nm). Comparable switching times of 8 s and a coloration efficiency of up to 116 cm2 C-1 are achieved.

Abstract
The cellular and the molecular mechanisms by which long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) may regulate presynaptic function and neuronal activity are largely unexplored. Here, we established an integrated screening strategy to discover lncRNAs implicated in neurotransmitter and synaptic vesicle release. With this approach, we identified neuroLNC, a neuron-specific nuclear lncRNA conserved from rodents to humans. NeuroLNC is tuned by synaptic activity and influences several other essential aspects of neuronal development including calcium influx, neuritogenesis, and neuronal migration in vivo. We defined the molecular interactors of neuroLNC in detail using chromatin isolation by RNA purification, RNA interactome analysis, and protein mass spectrometry. We found that the effects of neuroLNC on synaptic vesicle release require interaction with the RNA-binding protein TDP-43 (TAR DNA binding protein-43) and the selective stabilization of mRNAs encoding for presynaptic proteins. These results provide the first proof of an lncRNA that orchestrates neuronal excitability by influencing presynaptic function.

Abstract
Memristors have demonstrated immense potential as building blocks in future adaptive neuromorphic architectures. Recently, there has been focus on emulating specific synaptic functions of the mammalian nervous system by either tailoring the functional oxides or engineering the external programming hardware. However, high device-to-device variability in memristors induced by the electroforming process and complicated programming hardware are among the key challenges that hinder achieving biomimetic neuromorphic networks. Here, a simple hybrid complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS)-memristor approach is reported to implement different synaptic learning rules by utilizing a CMOS-compatible memristor based on oxygen-deficient SrTiO3-x (STOx). The potential of such hybrid CMOS-memristor approach is demonstrated by successfully imitating time-dependent (pair and triplet spike-time-dependent-plasticity) and rate-dependent (Bienenstosk-Cooper-Munro) synaptic learning rules. Experimental results are benchmarked against in-vitro measurements from hippocampal and visual cortices with good agreement. The scalability of synaptic devices and their programming through a CMOS drive circuitry elaborates the potential of such an approach in realizing adaptive neuromorphic computation and networks.

Abstract
The translation of biological synapses onto a hardware platform is an important step toward the realization of brain-inspired electronics. However, to mimic biological synapses, devices till-date continue to rely on the need for simultaneously altering the polarity of an applied electric field or the output of these devices is photonic instead of an electrical synapse. As the next big step toward practical realization of optogenetics inspired circuits that exhibit fidelity and flexibility of biological synapses, optically-stimulated synaptic devices without a need to apply polarity-altering electric field are needed. Utilizing a unique photoresponse in black phosphorus (BP), here reported is an all-optical pathway to emulate excitatory and inhibitory action potentials by exploiting oxidation-related defects. These optical synapses are capable of imitating key neural functions such as psychological learning and forgetting, spatiotemporally correlated dynamic logic and Hebbian spike-time dependent plasticity. These functionalities are also demonstrated on a flexible platform suitable for wearable electronics. Such low-power consuming devices are highly attractive for deployment in neuromorphic architectures. The manifestation of cognition and spatiotemporal processing solely through optical stimuli provides an incredibly simple and powerful platform to emulate sophisticated neural functionalities such as associative sensory data processing and decision making.

Abstract
This paper reports a novel route for the coloration of polyester fabric with green synthesized silver nanoparticles (G-AgNPs@PET) using chitosan as a natural eco-friendly reductant. The formation of AgNPs was confirmed by UV-visible spectroscopy. The morphologies and average particles size of G-AgNPs was investigated by transmission electron microscope (TEM) analysis. The uniform deposition of G-AgNPs on the PET fabric surface was confirmed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The thermal properties were investigated using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). The coloration and fastness properties of fabric were found to be significantly improved, a result related to the surface plasmon resonance of G-AgNPs. The antibacterial properties of fabric were also found to be excellent as more than 80% bacterial reduction was noticed even after 10 washing cycles. Overall, the proposed coating process using green nanoparticles can contribute to low-cost production of sustainable textiles.

First Measurements of Absolute Branching Fractions of the Ξ_{c}^{0} Baryon at Belle. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2019; 122:082001. Abstract
We present the first measurements of absolute branching fractions of Ξ_{c}^{0} decays into Ξ^{-}π^{+}, ΛK^{-}π^{+}, and pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+} final states. The measurements are made using a dataset comprising (772±11)×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^{+}e^{-} collider. We first measure the absolute branching fraction for B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0} using a missing-mass technique; the result is B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})=(9.51±2.10±0.88)×10^{-4}. We subsequently measure the product branching fractions B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}), B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→ΛK^{-}π^{+}), and B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+}) with improved precision. Dividing these product branching fractions by the result for B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0} yields the following branching fractions: B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+})=(1.80±0.50±0.14)%, B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→ΛK^{-}π^{+})=(1.17±0.37±0.09)%, and B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+})=(0.58±0.23±0.05)%. For the above branching fractions, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. Our result for B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}) can be combined with Ξ_{c}^{0} branching fractions measured relative to Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+} to yield other absolute Ξ_{c}^{0} branching fractions.

Abstract
We report the first observation of the double strange baryon Ξ(1620)^{0} in its decay to Ξ^{-}π^{+} via Ξ_{c}^{+}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^{+} decays based on a 980 fb^{-1} data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider. The mass and width are measured to be 1610.4±6.0(stat)_{-4.2}^{+6.1} (syst) MeV/c^{2} and 59.9±4.8(stat)_{-7.1}^{+2.8}(syst) MeV, respectively. We obtain 4.0σ evidence of the Ξ(1690)^{0} with the same data sample. These results shed light on the structure of hyperon resonances with strangeness S=-2.

Ultrasensitive Colorimetric Detection of Murine Norovirus Using NanoZyme Aptasensor. Anal Chem 2019; 91:3270-3276. Abstract
Human norovirus (NoV) remains the most common cause of viral gastroenteritis and the leading cause of viral foodborne outbreaks globally. NoV is highly pathogenic with an estimated median viral infective dose (ID50) ranging from 18 to 1015 genome copies. For NoV detection, the only reliable and sensitive method available for detection and quantification is reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RTqPCR). NoV detection in food is particularly challenging, requiring matrix specific concentration of the virus and removal of inhibitory compounds to detection assays. Hence, the RTqPCR method poses some challenges for rapid in-field or point-of-care diagnostic applications. We propose a new colorimetric NanoZyme aptasensor strategy for rapid (10 min) and ultrasensitive (calculated Limit of Detection (LoD) of 3 viruses per assay equivalent to 30 viruses/mL of sample and experimentally demonstrated LoD of 20 viruses per assay equivalent to 200 viruses/mL) detection of the infective murine norovirus (MNV), a readily cultivable surrogate for NoV. Our approach combines the enzyme-mimic catalytic activity of gold nanoparticles with high target specificity of an MNV aptamer to create sensor probes that produce a blue color in the presence of this norovirus, such that the color intensity provides the virus concentrations. Overall, our strategy offers the most sensitive detection of norovirus or a norovirus surrogate achieved to date using a biosensor approach, enabling for the first time, the detection of MNV virion corresponding to the lower end of the ID50 for NoV. We further demonstrate the robustness of the norovirus NanoZyme aptasensor by testing its performance in the presence of other nontarget microorganisms, human serum and shellfish homogenate, supporting the potential of detecting norovirus in complex matrices. This new assay format can, therefore, be of significant importance as it allows ultrasensitive norovirus detection rapidly within minutes, while also offering the simplicity of use and need for nonspecialized laboratory infrastructure.

Observation of Transverse Λ/Λ[over ¯] Hyperon Polarization in e^{+}e^{-} Annihilation at Belle. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2019; 122:042001. Abstract
We report the first observation of the spontaneous polarization of Λ and Λ[over ¯] hyperons transverse to the production plane in e^{+}e^{-} annihilation, which is attributed to the effect arising from a polarizing fragmentation function. For inclusive Λ/Λ[over ¯] production, we also report results with subtracted feed-down contributions from Σ^{0} and charm. This measurement uses a dataset of 800.4 fb^{-1} collected by the Belle experiment at or near a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. We observe a significant polarization that rises with the fractional energy carried by the Λ/Λ[over ¯] hyperon.

Search for a Light CP-odd Higgs Boson and Low-Mass Dark Matter at the Belle Experiment. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2019; 122:011801. Abstract
We report on the first Belle search for a light CP-odd Higgs boson, A^{0}, that decays into low mass dark matter, χ, in final states with a single photon and missing energy. We search for events produced via the dipion transition ϒ(2S)→ϒ(1S)π^{+}π^{-}, followed by the on-shell process ϒ(1S)→γA^{0} with A^{0}→χχ, or by the off-shell process ϒ(1S)→γχχ. Utilizing a data sample of 157.3×10^{6} ϒ(2S) decays, we find no evidence for a signal. We set limits on the branching fractions of such processes in the mass ranges M_{A^{0}}<8.97 GeV/c^{2} and M_{χ}<4.44 GeV/c^{2}. We then use the limits on the off-shell process to set competitive limits on WIMP-nucleon scattering in the WIMP mass range below 5 GeV/c^{2}.

Abstract
A universal femtoliter surface droplet-based platform for direct quantification of trace of hydrophobic compounds in aqueous solutions is presented. Formation and functionalization of femtoliter droplets, concentrating the analyte in the solution, are integrated into a simple fluidic chamber, taking advantage of the long-term stability, large surface-to-volume ratio, and tunable chemical composition of these droplets. In situ quantification of the extracted analytes is achieved by surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy by nanoparticles on the functionalized droplets. Optimized extraction efficiency and SERS enhancement by tuning droplet composition enable quantitative determination of hydrophobic model compounds of rhodamine 6G, methylene blue, and malachite green with the detection limit of 10-9 to 10-11 m and a large linear range of SERS signal from 10-9 to 10-6 m of the analytes. The approach addresses the current challenges of reproducibility and the lifetime of the substrate in SERS measurements. This novel surface droplet platform combines liquid-liquid extraction and highly sensitive and reproducible SERS detection, providing a promising technique in current chemical analysis related to environment monitoring, biomedical diagnosis, and national security monitoring.
