Abstract
OBJECTIVE The main study objective was to investigate the correlation between the color Doppler ultrasound grading of hyperthyroidism and the biochemical data of thyroid function. METHODS Seventy-six patients were diagnosed with hyperthyroidism based on clinical and laboratory data at our hospital. The patients were examined using color Doppler ultrasound and laboratory investigations before starting 131I treatment. First, patients were divided into two groups based on the blood flow distribution determined by ultrasound. If the blood flow signal in the parenchyma was scattered and thinned, with dispersive points and discontinuous streaky distribution, the blood flow distribution area in the sample frame was less than or equal to 1/2 of the sample frame area and was judged to be level 1. If the parenchyma was filled with diffuse blood flow signals or if most areas had depicted rich blood flow distribution when the area of blood flow distribution in the sampling frame was greater than 1/2 of the sampling frame area, it was judged to be level 2. Then, the correlations between color Doppler ultrasound grading and biochemical data of thyroid function were analyzed. The indices included FT3, FT4, TSH, anti-TG, anti-TPO, and TRAb. Parameters of thyroid homeostasis, including thyroid's secretory capacity (SPINA-GT), the total deiodinase activity (SPINA-GD), Jostel's TSH index, and the thyrotroph thyroid hormone sensitivity index (TTSI), were calculated and compared. RESULTS Correlations were noted between color Doppler ultrasound grading and FT3, FT4, TRAb, SPINA-GT, TSHI, and TTSI. Moreover, FT3, FT4, TRAb, SPINA-GT, TSHI, and TTSI were higher in level 2 patients compared with level 1 patients. CONCLUSION Correlations were noted between color Doppler ultrasound grading and biochemical data of thyroid function.

Abstract
The proper treatment of lollingite is of great significance due to its rapid oxidation leading to release of arsenic into the environment. Herein, a green multi-solid waste geopolymer, consisting of red mud, metakaolin, blast furnace slag, and flue gas desulfurization gypsum, was developed. The obtained red mud-metakaolin-based (RMM) geopolymer demonstrated good arsenic retention capability. The results showed that the replacement of SO42- in ettringite with AsO42- via ion exchange, formation of Ca-As and Fe-As precipitates, and physical encapsulation with aluminosilicate gel were the main mechanisms that prevented the release of arsenic. Further dissolution of ettringite in RMM was alleviated by adding a suitable amount of Ca(OH)2 and controlling the pH of the leachate. TCLP results verified that RMM materials possessed an outstanding ability to stabilize arsenic, with a leaching rate below the permitted value of 5 mg/L for safe disposal. The low leachability of the RMM geopolymers (<0.50 mg/L) is potentially related to the pH buffering capacity of the hydration products at a pH range of 2-5. RMM geopolymers showed a high compressive strength (>15 MPa) and low arsenic leaching concentration (<2.66 mg/L) after 28 days of curing. These results demonstrate the potential of RMM geopolymers to be utilized as an environmentally friendly backfilling cementitious material for sustainable remediation of arsenic pollution.

Abstract
In this paper, the multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) radar signal processing algorithm is efficiently employed as an anticollision methodology for the identification of multiple chipless radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags. Tag-identifying methods for conventional chipped RFID tags rely mostly on the processing capabilities of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). In cases where more than one chipless tag exists in the same area, traditional methods are not sufficient to successfully read and distinguish the IDs, while the direction of each chipless tag can be obtained by applying MIMO technology to the backscattering signal. In order to read the IDs of the tags, beamforming is used to change the main beam direction of the antenna array and to receive the tag backscattered signal. On this basis, the RCS of the tags can be retrieved, and associated IDs can be identified. In the simulation, two tags with different IDs were placed away from each other. The IDs of the tags were successfully identified using the presented algorithm. The simulation result shows that tags with a distance of 0.88 m in azimuth can be read by a MIMO reader with eight antennas from 3 m away.

Abstract
Vascular dysfunction is a key hallmark of hypertension and related cardiovascular outcomes. As a well-known hemodynamic disease, hypertension is characterized by abnormal ventricular-vascular interactions. Complementing non-invasive systemic hemodynamics in hypertensive vascular risk assessment is of promising significance. We aimed to investigate the effects of abnormal hemodynamic states other than elevated blood pressure on vascular damage and establish a united index of systemic hemodynamics for generalized vascular risk evaluation. Non-invasive systemic hemodynamics, assessed by impedance cardiography, was compared among blood pressure stages. Vascular function was evaluated by flow-mediated dilation (FMD) and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV). Systemic hemodynamics was obtained from a total of 88 enrollees with a mean (±SD) systolic blood pressure 140 (±17) mm Hg, and aged 17 to 91 years. Both stroke systemic vascular resistance index and left stroke work index exhibited a significant alteration among blood pressure stages (p < 0.001; p = 0.01, respectively), whereas heterogeneous hemodynamic and vascular function subsets existed within similar blood pressure. In addition, blood pressure categories failed to recognize between-group differences in endothelial dysfunction (p = 0.88) and arterial stiffness (p = 0.26). An increase in myocardial contractility and a parallel decrease in afterload was associated with the decline of vascular dysfunction. Systemic Hemodynamic Index (SHI), as a surrogate marker, demonstrated a significantly negative correlation with vascular damage index (VDI, r = −0.49, p < 0.001). These findings illustrate that systemic hemodynamics underlying hypertensives provides more vascular information. The SHI/VDI score may be a feasible tool for cardiovascular function assessment.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate longitudinal association between smoking behavior and obesity risk in male adults in China from 1991 to 2015. Methods: A total of 32 169 male adults aged 18-64 years who participated in two or more rounds of China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS, 1991-2015) and had complete information of demographic characteristics, smoking status and physical measurements were selected as the study subjects. According to whether the subjects smoked or not and the number of cigarettes smoked per day, the subjects were divided into four groups: nonsmoker, light smoker (1-14 cigarettes/d), moderate smoker (15-24 cigarettes/d) and heavy smoker (≥25 cigarettes/d). The distribution of body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), general obesity and central obesity of subjects with different smoking status were observed. Two-level mixed effect linear regression model and logistic regression model were used to analyze the relationship between smoking status and obesity risk. Results: Compared with nonsmokers, the BMI decreased by 0.19 kg/m2 in light smokers (95%CI:-0.27--0.10), 0.40 kg/m2 in moderate smokers (95%CI:-0.49--0.31), and 0.36 kg/m2 in heavy smokers (95%CI:-0.53--0.19), respectively, and the WC decreased by 0.49 cm in light smokers (95%CI:-0.76--0.21), 0.80 cm in moderate smokers (95%CI:-1.08--0.51) and 0.79 cm in heavy smokers (95%CI:-1.38--0.36) in, respectively. Compared with nonsmokers, the odds ratio of the risk for general and abdominal obesity were 0.70 (95%CI:0.62-0.79) and 0.78 (95%CI:0.73-0.84) in light smokers, 0.61 (95%CI:0.55-0.69) and 0.74 (95%CI:0.70-0.79) in moderate smokers and 0.78 (95%CI:0.65-0.96) and 0.84 (95%CI:0.76-0.95) in heavy smokers, respectively. Conclusions: From 1991 to 2015, the BMI, WC, prevalence of general and abdominal obesity in male adults showed a significant upward trends in both nonsmokers and smokers (light, moderate and heavy) in China, suggesting that smoking is negatively associated with the risk for obesity in male adults.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of DIAGNOcam (DC) in diagnosing proximal caries and to compare its effectiveness with the International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS) and bitewing radiography (BWR). METHODS 118 premolars extracted for orthodontic reasons were included and examined using three detection methods and validated by histological sections as the gold standard. The sensitivity, specificity and areas under the ROC curve (Az value) at the outer half enamel (D1), inner half enamel (D2) and dentine (D3) thresholds were compared between different methods. RESULTS At all categories, the specificity of DC was almost as high as ICDAS and BWR. DC showed a significantly higher sensitivity (0.68) than both visual (0.33) and radiographic examination (0.47) at the D1 threshold. DC presented the highest Az value (area under the ROC curve) at the D1 and D2 threshold (0.81, 0.86), while BWR showed the greatest Az values at D3 (0.94). Furthermore, DC had the highest association strength with the gold standard (Spearman's ρ = 0.80). CONCLUSIONS It can be concluded that DC could detect proximal caries effectively and showed comparable or even better performance than ICDAS and BWR.

Abstract
Reported herein is an intramolecular dehydrogenative coupling of two inert aryl C-H bonds for the synthesis of aporphine analogues. The process represents a novel tool for the preparation of aporphines via palladiun-catalyzed C-H bond activation. The present reaction is compatible with various functional groups, and the coupling products have been further applied for the synthesis of natural products aporphine and zenkerine.

Abstract
Differences in emotion experience and emotion expression between patients with schizophrenia and the healthy population have long been the focus of research and clinical attention. However, few empirical studies have addressed this topic using art-making as a tool of emotion expression. This study explores the differences in brain mechanism during the process of expressing anger between patients with schizophrenia and healthy participants using pictographic psychological techniques. We used functional near-infrared spectroscopy to fully detect changes in frontal cortex activity among participants in two groups-schizophrenia and healthy-during the process of experiencing and expressing anger. The results showed that there were no differences in the experience of anger between the two groups. In the process of anger expression, the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, frontal pole, and other regions showed significant negative activation among patients with schizophrenia, which was significantly different from that of the healthy group. There were significant differences between patients with schizophrenia and the healthy group in the drawing features, drawing contents, and the ability to describe the contents of their drawings. Moreover, the effect size of the latter was greater than those of the former two. In terms of emotion expression, the drawing data and brain activation data were significantly correlated in each group; however, the correlation patterns differed between groups.

Abstract
A good method of synthesizing Ti3C2Tx (MXene) is critical for ensuring its success in practical applications, e.g., electromagnetic interference shielding, electrochemical energy storage, catalysis, sensors, and biomedicine. The main concerns focus on the moderation of the approach, yield, and product quality. Herein, a modified approach, organic solvent-assisted intercalation and collection, was developed to prepare Ti3C2Tx flakes. The new approach simultaneously solves all the concerns, featuring a low requirement for facility (centrifugation speed < 4000 rpm in whole process), gram-level preparation with remarkable yield (46.3%), a good electrical conductivity (8672 S cm-1), an outstanding capacitive performance (352 F g-1), and easy control over the dimension of Ti3C2Tx flakes (0.47-4.60 μm2). This approach not only gives a superb example for the synthesis of other MXene materials in laboratory, but sheds new light for the future mass production of Ti3C2Tx MXene.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical and genetic features, and treatment of X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets (XLH). Methods: In this retrospective study, we reviewed the medical records of 25 pediatric patients with XLH who were admitted to Department of Endocrinology Genetics and Metabolism,Beijing Children's Hospital from January 2010 to January 2020. The clinical characteristics, PHEX gene variants, as well as clinical outcome of the patients were summarized. To analyze the correlation between genotype and phenotype, the patients were divided into different subgroups according to the location of the variants, including N-terminal-located vs. C-terminal-located variant, and Zn-binding domain exon 17 or 19 variant vs. non-exon 17 or 19 variant. The age at onset, height standard deviation score (HtSDS), intercondylar or intermalleolar distance, fasting serum phosphorus, and HtSDS and intercondylar or intermalleolar distance at the final follow-up were compared by rank sum test or t text. Results: Among the 25 children with XLH, 8 were boys and 17 were girls. The median age of onset was 1.2 (1.0, 1.8) years, and the median age of diagnosis was 2.5 (1.5, 4.3) years. The main clinical manifestations were abnormal gait and lower limb deformity. The HtSDS was -2.0(-3.2, -0.8), and the intercondylar or intermalleolar distance was 4.5 (3.0, 6.0) cm. The fasting serum phosphorus level was 0.8 (0.7, 0.9) mmol/L, while the serum alkaline phosphatase level was (721±41) U/L and the serum calcium level was (2.5±0.1) mmol/L. Three patients (12%) had parathyroid hormone levels above the upper limit of the normal range. Twenty-five patients (100%) showed radiographic changes of active rickets. Nephrocalcinosis was found in 2 cases (9%). Twenty-four different PHEX variations were detected in 25 patients, among whom 11 (44%) had not been reported previously. No hot spot variation was found. No statistical differences (all P>0.05) were identified in clinical features and outcomes either in comparing patients with N-terminal (21 cases) and C-terminal (4 cases) variants, or in comparing patients with variant located in exon 17 or 19 (4 cases) or not (21 cases). Twenty-four cases (96%) were treated regularly with phosphate supplements and active vitamin D. After 2.7 (1.6, 5.0) years of follow-up, clinical symptoms were relieved in 96% (24/25) of the patients. The HtSDS after treatment had no significant difference compared to that before treatment (-2.0(-3.2, -0.8) vs.-2.0(-2.8, -1.1),Z =-0.156, P>0.05), while the intercondylar or intermalleolar distance after treatment was significantly reduced compared to that before treatment (4.5(3.0, 6.0) vs. 1.5(0, 3.3) cm, Z =-3.043, P<0.05). Bone X-rays were reexamined in 17 cases after treatment, and radiographic signs of rickets were improved. Eighteen cases had secondary hyperparathyroidism and 7 cases had nephrocalcinosis. Conclusions: The main clinical manifestations of XLH are abnormal gait, lower limb deformity and short stature. A high proportion of novel variations of PHEX gene but no hot spot variation neither genotype-phenotype correlation are found. Regular treatment with phosphate supplements and active vitamin D can significantly improve the symptoms except for the height. However, the rate of adverse events including secondary hyperparathyroidism and nephrocalcinosis seems to be high.

Abstract
Drought is a critical abiotic stressor that modulates soybean yield. Drought stress drastically enhances reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation, and maintaining ROS content above a cytostatic level but below a cytotoxic level is essential for normal biology processes in plants. At present, most of the known ROS-scavenging systems are in the cytoplasm, and the mechanism of ROS regulation in the nucleus remains unclear. GmNTF2B-1 is a member of the IV subgroup in the nucleus transporter family. Its expression is localized to the roots and is stimulated by drought stress. In this study, the overexpression of GmNTF2B-1 was found to improve the drought tolerance of transgenic soybean by influencing the ROS content in plants. An oxidoreductase, GmOXR17, was identified to interact with GmNTF2B-1 in the nucleus through the yeast two-hybrid, coimmunoprecipitation and bimolecular fluorescence complementation assays. The drought tolerance of GmOXR17 transgenic soybean was similar to that of GmNTF2B-1. GmNTF2B-1 was expressed in both cytoplasm and nucleus, and GmOXR17 transferred from the cytoplasm to the nucleus under drought stress. The overexpression of GmNTF2B-1 enhanced the nuclear entry of GmOXR17, and the overexpression of GmNTF2B-1 or GmOXR17 could decrease the H2 O2 content and oxidation level in the nucleus. In conclusion, the interaction between GmNTF2B-1 and GmOXR17 may enhance the nuclear entry of GmOXR17, thereby enhancing nuclear ROS scavenging to improve the drought resistance of soybean.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cerebral small vessel disease is relevant to hypertension. We tried to figure out whether antihypertensive treatment is beneficial for this disease. METHODS We systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane electronic databases for randomized controlled trials about white matter hyperintensities (WMH), brain atrophy, microbleeds, and lacunar infarcts with antihypertensive treatment and performed a meta-analysis. RESULTS We identified 7 trials on white matter hyperintensities and brain atrophy with antihypertensive treatment. Pooled analysis showed antihypertensive treatment performed positively in the progression of WMH (standardized mean difference, -0.22; 95% CI, -0.36 to -0.07, I^2 = 52%). And in the subgroup meta-analysis, only lower SBP controlled level (110-129 mm Hg) had effect on the progression of WMH (standardized mean difference, -0.37; 95% CI, -0.54 to -0.29, I^2 =0). The meta-regression showed larger difference of SBP in treatment groups having a smaller WMH progression. Antihypertensive treatment is not significant in the progression of brain atrophy (standardized mean difference, -0.02; 95% CI, -0.26 to 0.30, I^2 = 85%). Only 1 trial reported the new patients of lacunar infarcts in the follow-up, no association with antihypertensive treatment (odds ratio, 2.2; 95% CI, 0.4-12.1; P = .36). CONCLUSIONS Antihypertensive treatment is beneficial for cerebral small vessel disease on white matter hyperintensities progression, but no impact on brain atrophy. And lower SBP level is more effective on the progression of WMH. There is not enough evidence to prove the relationship between antihypertensive treatment and lacunar stroke, microbleeds.

Abstract
Stress contributes to major depressive disorder (MDD) and chronic pain, which affect a significant portion of the global population, but researchers have not clearly determined how these conditions are initiated or amplified by stress. The chronic social defeat stress (CSDS) model is a mouse model of psychosocial stress that exhibits depressive-like behavior and chronic pain. We hypothesized that metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGluR5) expressed in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) normalizes the depressive-like behaviors and pain following CSDS. Here, we show that CSDS induced both pain and social avoidance and that the level of mGluR5 decreased in susceptible mice. Overexpression of mGluR5 in the NAc shell and core prevented the development of depressive-like behaviors and pain in susceptible mice, respectively. Conversely, depression-like behaviors and pain were exacerbated in mice with mGluR5 knockdown in the NAc shell and core, respectively, compared to control mice subjected to 3 days of social defeat stress. Furthermore, (RS)-2-chloro-5-hydroxyphenylglycine (CHPG), an mGluR5 agonist, reversed the reduction in the level of the endocannabinoid (eCB) 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) in the NAc of susceptible mice, an effect that was blocked by 3-((2-methyl-1, 3-thiazol-4-yl) ethynyl) pyridine hydrochloride (MTEP), an mGluR5 antagonist. In addition, the injection of CHPG into the NAc shell and core normalized depressive-like behaviors and pain, respectively, and these effects were inhibited by AM251, a cannabinoid type 1 receptor (CB1R) antagonist. Based on these results, mGluR5-mediated eCB production in the NAc relieves stress-induced depressive-like behaviors and pain.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) and microwave ablation (MWA) are both important methods used in treating benign thyroid nodules. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of a modified PEI method combined with MWA for the treatment of symptomatic, predominantly cystic and benign thyroid nodules. MATERIALS AND METHODS This study included 201 patients who underwent treatment in our department between April 2015 and August 2018. Predominantly cystic thyroid nodules were treated by the modified PEI procedure, which included short-term boiling ethanol ablation (STBEA) and was combined with MWA. Complications, the volume reduction ratio (VRR), symptoms and cosmetic scores were recorded at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after treatment and every 6 months thereafter. RESULTS No major complications were observed during or after the treatment. Ten patients (4.8%) experienced temporary voice change, which resolved within 3 months. Of 200 (97.6%) out of 205 nodules showed significant volume reduction at the final follow-up. Recurrence occurred for only 5 (2.4%) nodules. The mean thyroid nodule volume decreased from 17.40 ± 3.21 mL at baseline to 1.17 ± 0.37 mL at 12 months. The greatest VRR was observed within the first 3 months after treatment. CONCLUSIONS The modified PEI method combined with MWA is safe and effective for the treatment of predominantly cystic benign thyroid nodules and provides a shorter operating time and lower recurrence rate than traditional treatments.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical and genetic characteristics of Noonan syndrome in children. Methods: The clinical characteristics,genetic analysis and follow-up data of 20 children diagnosed with Noonan syndrome who were admitted to Department of Endocrinology, Genetics and Metabolism, Beijing Children's Hospital, Capital Medical University from March 2016 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Among 20 children with Noonan syndrome, 13 were males and 7 were females. The age at diagnosis was 5.9 years (1.1 years to 12.2 years). The most common clinical complaints were delayed height growth, followed by hypospadias or cryptorchidism in 2 cases, and special facial appearance in 1 case. Physical examination revealed 12 cases of Noonan syndrome with facial features, 9 cases with cryptorchidism and hypospadias, 10 cases with abnormal cardiac structure, and 10 cases with mental retardation; Twelve patients were detected with PTPN11 variations, 4 patients carried SOS2 variations, 2 cases were confirmed with variations in SHOC2 and SOS1. Six children received recombinant human growth hormone treatment, and their height increased by 4.0 (2.5-6.0) cm to varying degrees at 9 months. No adverse events occurred. Conclusions: Male Noonan syndrome is more frequently found with external genitalia. In addition to the high frequency of PTPN11 variation, the frequency of gene variation in SOS2 gene is higher than previously reported. All of the SOS2 variations are de novo. The syndrome phenotype profiles could vary with the admitted clinical departments. To understand the full picture of the syndrome, it is necessary to collect medical information from different departments.

Abstract
Traditional methods of enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose to cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) are limited due to the low enzymatic efficiency and large amount of waste liquid. The purpose of this study is to improve the yield and production efficiency of CNCs by enzymatic hydrolysis. A one-step mechano-enzymatic hydrolysis method was developed by utilizing the synergy of wet grinding and enzymatic hydrolysis reaction to efficiently prepare CNCs. Under the optimal reaction conditions, the maximum CNCs yield of 49.3% was achieved with higher thermal stability and crystallinity index of 76.7%. Mechano-enzymatic hydrolysis followed the first order pseudo-kinetics, and fractal kinetics demonstrated that mechanical force of rotation speed affected the fractal dimensions and binding ability between substrate and enzyme. This study provides an alternative method to prepare CNCs, which can significantly avoid the use of bulk water, improve the production efficiency of CNCs and thus lower the production cost.

Abstract
Xiao-Chaihu-Decoction (XCHD), a classical traditional Chinese medicine with diverse biological activities, is widely applied to prevent and treat many human diseases. Effects of dietary XCHD on growth performance, immune response, detoxification system, intestinal microbiota and resistance against aflatoxin B1(AFB1) of Litopenaeus vannamei was studied. Four isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets were formulated to contain 0, 1, 2, and 5 g/kg (control, XCHD1, XCHD2 and XCHD3) of XCHD, respectively. Seven hundred and eighty shrimp (1.16 ± 0.09 g) were assigned randomly to 12 tanks (400 L, three tanks each group, 65 shrimp in each tank) for 6 weeks. After sampling, 25 shrimp from each tank were selected for a 2-week AFB1 (2500 μg/kg) challenge experiment. The results indicated that the final weight, weight gain and specific growth rate in XCHD2 and XCHD3 groups were significantly increased compared to control. The protease, amylase, superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione s-transferase (GST), sulfotransferase (SULT) activities, total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) and glutathione (GSH) contents in hepatopancreas were significantly increased in XCHD3 groups and the expressions of immune-related genes (Toll, Dorsal and Cru) in hepatopancreas were significantly up-regulated in XCHD2 and XCHD3 groups. High-throughput sequencing analysis revealed that the abundance of Proteobacteria decreased and the abundances of Bacteroidetes increased in XCHD2 and XCHD3 groups. Additionally, AFB1 challenge experiments showed that AFB1 caused histological damage to the hepatopancreas and significantly increased the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and protein carbonylation (PC) in hepatopancreas as well as the activities of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). Nevertheless, XCHD could effectively alleviated the growth toxicity, immunosuppression and macromolecular damage caused by AFB1 to shrimp by inhibiting the Phase I enzyme and enhancing Phase II enzyme and antioxidant system.

Abstract
This study calculates the effect of different types of land circulation on farmers' decision-making regarding agricultural planting structure, using field survey data involving 1,120 households in Hubei province, China, and PSM (propensity score matching) and GPSM (general propensity score matching) methods. Results from PSM showed that land circulation could significantly increase farmers' decisions to plant food crops, which confirms the positive effect of rural land circulation on the "grain orientation" of crop planting structure. Results from GPSM further indicate that the total land circulation, the paddy land circulation, and the dry land circulation all have significantly positive effects on planting structure adjustment towards "grain orientation." Additionally, planting structure adjustment towards "grain orientation" increases as the scale of land circulation increases, and the former shows a higher rate of increase than the latter, which confirms that rural land circulation facilitates an adjustment in structure towards planting food crops.

Abstract
Toxoplasma gondii infections are common in humans and animals worldwide. The present review summarizes worldwide information on the prevalence of clinical and subclinical infections, epidemiology, and genetic diversity of T. gondii infections in bears. Seroprevalence estimates of T. gondii in black bears (Ursus americanus) are one of the highest of all animals. In Pennsylvania, seroprevalence is around 80% and has remained stable for the past 4 decades. Approximately 3,500 bears are hunted yearly in Pennsylvania alone. The validity of different serological tests is discussed based on bioassay and serological comparisons. Seroprevalence in grizzly bears (Ursus arctos) is lower than that in black bears. Even polar bears (Ursus maritimus) are infected; infections in these animals are ecologically interesting because of the absence of felids in the Arctic. Clinical toxoplasmosis in bears is rare and not documented in adult animals. The few reports of fatal toxoplasmosis in young bears need confirmation. Viable T. gondii has been isolated from black bears and a grizzly bear. The genetic diversity of isolates based on DNA from viable T. gondii isolates is discussed. Genetic typing of a total of 26 T. gondii samples from bears using 10 PCR-RFLP markers revealed 8 PCR-RFLP ToxoDB genotypes: #1 (clonal type II) in 3 samples, #2 (clonal type III) in 8 samples, #4 (haplogroup 12) in 3 samples, #5 (haplogroup 12) in 3 samples, #74 in 5 samples, #90 in 1 sample, #147 in 1 sample, and #216 in 2 samples. These results suggest relatively high genetic diversity of T. gondii in bears. Overall, T. gondii isolates in bears range from those circulating in a domestic cycle (genotypes #1 and #2) to those mainly associated with wildlife (such as genotypes #4 and #5, together known as haplogroup 12). A patient who acquired clinical Trichinella spiralis infection after eating undercooked bear meat also acquired T. gondii infection. Freezing of infected meat kills T. gondii, including the strains isolated from bears.

Abstract
It is well known that cancer incidence and death rates have been growing, but the development of cancer theranostics and therapeutics has been a challenging work. Recently, nucleic acid probe-based fluorescent sensing and imaging have achieved remarkable improvements in a variety of cancer management techniques, credited to their high sensitivity, good tolerance to interference, fast detection, and high versatility. Herein, nucleic acid probe-based fluorescent sensing and imaging are labeled with advanced fluorophores, which are essential for fast and sensitive detection of aberrant nucleic acids and other cancer-relevant molecules, consequently performing cancer early diagnosis and targeted treatment. In this review, we introduce the characteristics of nucleic acid probes, summarize the development of nucleic acid probe-based fluorescent sensing and imaging, and prominently elaborate their applications in cancer diagnosis and treatment. In discussion, some challenges and perspectives are elaborated in the field of nucleic acid probe-based fluorescent sensing and imaging.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Atrioventricular (AV) delay could affect AV and ventricular synchrony in cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). Strategies to optimize AV delay according to optimal AV synchrony (AVopt-AV) or ventricular synchrony (AVopt-V) would potentially be discordant. This study aimed to explore a new AV delay optimization algorithm guided by electrograms to obtain the maximum integrative effects of AV and ventricular resynchronization (opt-AV). METHODS Forty-nine patients with CRT were enrolled. AVopt-AV was measured through the Ritter method. AVopt-V was obtained by yielding the narrowest QRS. The opt-AV was considered to be AVopt-AV or AVopt-V when their difference was < 20 ms, and to be the AV delay with the maximal aortic velocity-time integral between AVopt-AV and AVopt-V when their difference was > 20 ms. RESULTS The results showed that sensing/pacing AVopt-AV (SAVopt-AV/PAVopt-AV) were correlated with atrial activation time (Pend-As/Pend-Ap) (P < 0.05). Sensing/pacing AVopt-V (SAVopt-V/PAVopt-V) was correlated with the intrinsic AV conduction time (As-Vs/Ap-Vs) (P < 0.01). The percentages of patients with more than 20 ms differences between SAVopt-AV/PAVopt-AV and SAVopt-V/PAVopt-V were 62.9% and 57.1%, respectively. Among them, opt-AV was linearly correlated with SAVopt-AV/PAVopt-AV and SAVopt-V/PAVopt-V. The sensing opt-AV (opt-SAV) = 0.1 × SAVopt-AV + 0.4 × SAVopt-V + 70 ms (R2 = 0.665, P < 0.01) and the pacing opt-AV (opt-PAV) = 0.25 × PAVopt-AV + 0.5 × PAVopt-V + 30 ms (R2 = 0.560, P < 0.01). CONCLUSION The SAVopt-AV/PAVopt-AV and SAVopt-V/PAVopt-V were correlated with the atrial activation time and the intrinsic AV conduction interval respectively. Almost half of the patients had a > 20 ms difference between SAVopt-AV/PAVopt-AV and SAVopt-V/PAVopt-V. The opt-AV could be estimated based on electrogram parameters.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the level of serum uric acid and the prevalence of hyperuricemia among adult residents in China. Methods: Data were derived from the China Nutritional Transition Cohort Study (CNTCS) in 2015. A total of 8 217 adult residents, aged 18-59 years old, who had completed survey data were selected as the subjects of the study. The demographic data was collected by questionnaire, and the fasting serum uric acid was detected by enzymatic method on the automatic biochemical analyzer (German Roche C701/702) by using German Roche uric acid reagent test kit. The levels of serum uric acid and the prevalence of hyperuricemia were analyzed under different demographic characteristics. Results: The results showed that, in 2015, the average level of serum uric acid in Chinese adults aged 18-59 years old was 288.0 μmol/L, and the prevalence rate of hyperuricemia was 9.8% (weighted value). Among them, the average level of serum uric acid and weighted prevalence of hyperuricemia was 329.7 μmol/L and 15.1% in men and 254.3 μmol/L and 5.8% in women. The average level of serum uric acid and weighted prevalence of hyperuricemia was 298.5 μmol/L and 10.9% in urban residents and 281.9 μmol/L and 9.1% in rural residents. The level of serum uric acid and the prevalence rate of hyperuricemia decreased when age increased in men, but increased with age increased in women. Conclusions: There are some differences in the level of serum uric acid and the prevalence rate of hyperuricemia among adult residents of different regions, gender, ages, household income and educational level. It is suggested that accurate prevention and control measures should be taken according to different demographic characteristics.

Abstract
Natural compounds as carriers for hydrophobic drugs have been increasingly used in drug delivery systems. In this study, disodium glycyrrhizin (Na2GA), tannic acid (TA) and camptothecin (CPT) were firstly used to prepare the camptothecin solid dispersion (CPT SD). When dissolved in a solution medium, Na2GA self-assembled to form micelles and CPT was encapsulated in micelles, meanwhile, TA connected with Na2GA through hydrogen bonds to form a contract shell. The average diameter of the CPT-loaded micelles is 80 nm with the critical micellar concentration of 0.303 mg/mL, the zeta potential of -33 mV, the PDI of 0.25 and drug loading 6.22%. In vitro experiments confirmed that the drug-loaded micelles exhibited excellent stability and permeability in the intestinal environment. Furthermore, the formulation showed excellent anti-tumor activity in vitro and in vivo. These findings imply that this nano-micelles provide a more potential and efficacious oral drug formulation for chemotherapy.

Abstract
Lignin-carbohydrate complexes (LCC) have shown great potential as biocompatible antioxidants. But it is difficult to isolate LCC efficiently from lignocellulose by traditional Solid-Liquid Extraction method (SLE), which is blamed to the innate bioimpedance caused by the complex supramolecular structure of the lignocellulose, and a great mass transferring resistance between the extracting solution and solid lignocellulose. To release these restrictions above and improve the efficiency of LCC isolation, a modified isolating method named Liquid-Liquid Extraction (LLE) was proposed, in which ball-milled wheat stalk was dissolved in lithium chloride/dimethyl sulfoxide (LiCl/DMSO) solution, then regenerated by dioxane aqueous to extract LL-LCCs. The effect of the LLE on the LCC isolating was evaluated and results showed that both the total yield and antioxidant activity of LL-LCCs were higher than that of control group. It proved the dissolution of wheat stalk in LiCl/DMSO solution could reduce the mass transfer resistance during the extraction. Due to the catalyzation of LiCl as Lewis acid, LL-LCCs had lower molecular weight but more phenolic hydroxyl groups and higher S/G ratios. These factors of LL-LCCs resulted in greater free-radical scavenging ability than control sample. The modified isolation protocol could facilitate the isolation and utilization of LCCs as a free-radical scavenger.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical, genetic characteristics and follow-up data of Chinese patients with hypophosphatasia (HPP). Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on six children with HPP admitted to the Department of Endocrinology, Genetics and Metabolism in Beijing Children's Hospital from October 2010 to January 2019. Summarized the clinical and follow-up data of all six patients, as well as the pathogenic variants of five children. Results: The serum alkaline phosphatase levels of all six children (five males and one female) were significantly reduced (2-49 U/L). The 6 patients aged from 2 months to 6 years and 4 months, 4 infantile HPP, 1 childhood HIP and 1 odonto HPP. The four patients with infantile HPP presented with anorexia, slow weight gain and hypercalcemia, whereas the one patient with childhood HPP and the other patient with odonto HPP had tooth loss. The patient with childhood HPP also manifested with motor dysfunction. Genetic testing was conducted for five patients and 4 unrelated Chinese families and revealed 10 variations in ALPL gene, including 7 missense variation, 1 insertion variation, 1 frameshift variation, 1 deletion variation.Of which 3 were novel (p.Y28C, p.268, F>L, p.A176V).One of the infantile patients lost follow-up and the other three deceased. The clinical conditions were much improved with medical intervention for patients with childhood, orodonto HPP. Conclusions: While HPP patients with different ages of onset present with common features, the prognosis differ significantly. The prognosis is good for patients with childhood, orodonto HPP and poor for patients with infantile HPP. Genetic testing is the main method for definitive diagnosis.

Abstract
Toxoplasma gondii infections are common in humans and animals worldwide. Rodents are one of the most important intermediate hosts for T. gondii because they are preyed on by cats, who in turn excrete the environmentally resistant oocysts in their feces and thus spread the infection. Information on T. gondii infections is spread in numerous reports and is not easily accessible to readers. Here, we review prevalence, persistence of infection, clinical disease, epidemiology, and genetic diversity of T. gondii infections in wild rodents worldwide. Data are tabulated by country, by each rodent species alphabetically, and chronologically. Recent genetic diversity of T. gondii strains in rodents is critically evaluated.

Abstract
Phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) pollution are the worldwide challenging problem. In the present study, a new salt-tolerant phosphate-accumulating organism (PAO) was isolated and identified as Bacillus subtilis GHSP10. Strain GHSP10 did not produce hemolysin and showed high susceptibility to antibiotics. The favorable phosphorus removal C/N ratios, P/N ratios, temperature, salinities, pH values and shaking speeds of strain GHSP10 were 10-20, 0.1-0.2, 28 °C, 0-3%, 7.5-8.5 and 100-250 r/min. Besides, strain GHSP10 could conduct heterotrophic nitrification-aerobic denitrification and the maximal removal efficiencies of ammonium, nitrite and nitrate were 99.52%, 81.10% and 95.84% respectively. Moreover, the phosphorus removal process of strain GHSP10 was achieved under entirely aerobic conditions, and glycogen and poly-β-hydroxybutyrate could provide energy source for the phosphorus removal process of strain GHSP10. The amplification of ppk, hao, napA, narG, nirK genes as well as the expression of polyphosphate kinase helped to reveal the removal pathways of phosphorus and nitrogen, providing theoretical support for the phosphorus removal, nitrification and aerobic denitrification abilities of strain GHSP10. Furthermore, efficient removal of phosphorus and nitrogen from both domestic sewage and aquaculture sewage could be accomplished by strain GHSP10. This study may provide a hopeful candidate strain for simultaneous removal of phosphorus and nitrogen pollution from both freshwater sewage and saline sewage.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the relationship between smoking status and sleep duration in male adults in urban-rural areas of 15 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) in China in 2015. Methods: Data were derived from the China Nutritional Transition Cohort Study 2015, a total of 4 419 participants aged 18-64 years, including 1 713 urban males (38.8%) and 2 706 rural males (61.2%), with complete information about smoking status and sleep duration were included in the final analysis. Based on the number of cigarettes consumed daily, the current smokers were classified to be heavy (25 cigarettes/d and above), moderate (15-24 cigarettes/d), and light (1-14 cigarettes/d). Sleep duration was classified to be insufficient (<7 h/d), sufficient (7-9 h/d), and excessive (9 h/d and above). Two-level mixed-effects linear and logistic regression models were used for association analysis. Results: The smoking rates in male adults in urban and rural areas were 45.7% and 53.8%, respectively. In male heavy smokers in urban and rural areas, the proportions of sufficient sleep were the lowest (66.7% and 68.1%). However, the proportions of sleep deprivation were highest (15.3% and 20.3%). After controlling for confounding factors, the net effect on male heavy smokers was a significant decrease of 0.21 h/d (β=-0.21, 95%CI: -0.44 - -0.01) in sleep duration. Moreover, the odds ratio for insufficient sleep were 1.83 (95%CI: 1.03-3.23) in male heavy smokers in rural area compared with nonsmokers. Conclusion: Heavy smoking is associated with decreased sleep duration and increased risk of sleep deprivation in male adults in rural China.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to assess the dosimetric effect of intestinal gas of stereotactic magnetic resonance (MR)-guided adaptive radiation therapy (SMART) on target and critical organs for pancreatic cancer without online electron density correction (EDC). METHODS Thirty pancreatic cancer patients who underwent online SMART were selected for this study. The treatment time of each stage and the total treatment time were recorded and analyzed. The concerned dose-volume parameters of target and organs-at-risk (OAR) were compared with and without an intestinal gas EDC using the Wilcoxon-signed rank test. Analysis items with p value < 0.05 were considered statistically significant. The relationships between dosimetric differences and intestinal gas volume variations were investigated using the Spearman test. RESULTS The average treatment time was 82 min, and the average EDC time was 8 min, which accounted for 10% of the overall treatment time. There were no significant differences in CTV (GTV), PTV, bowel, stomach, duodenum, and skin (p > 0.05) with respect to dose volume parameters. For the Dmax of gastrointestinal organs (p = 0.03), the mean dose of the liver (p = 0.002) and kidneys (p = 0.03 and p = 0.04 for the left and right kidneys, respectively), there may be a risk of slight overestimation compared with EDC, and for the Dmax of the spinal cord (p = 0.02), there may be a risk of slight underestimation compared with EDC. A weak correlation for D95 in the PTV and D0.5 cc in the duodenum was observed. CONCLUSION For patients with similar inter-fractional intestinal gas distribution, EDC had little dosimetric effects on the D0.5 cc of all GI organs and dose volume parameters of target in most plans. ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE By omitting the EDC of intestinal gas, the online SMART treatment time can be shortened.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Epicardial to endocardial breakthrough (EEB) exists widely in atrial arrhythmia and is a cause for intractable cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI)-dependent atrial flutter (AFL). This study aimed to investigate the electrophysiological features of EEB in EEB-related CTI dependent AFL. METHODS Six patients with EEB-related CTI-dependent AFL were identified among 142 consecutive patients who underwent CTI-dependent AFL catheter ablation with an ultra-high-density, high-resolution mapping system in three institutions. Activation maps and ablation procedure were analyzed. RESULTS A total of seven EEBs were found in six patients. Four EEBs (including three at the right atrial septum and one in paraseptal isthmus) were recorded in three patients during tachycardia. The other three EEBs were identified at the inferolateral right atrium (RA) during pacing from the coronary sinus. The conduction characteristics through the EEB-mediated structures were evaluated in three patients. Two patients only showed unidirectional conduction. Activation maps indicated that CTI-dependent AFL with EEB at the atrial septum was actually bi-atrial macro-reentrant atrial tachycardia (BiAT). Intensive ablation at the central isthmus could block CTI bidirectionally in four cases. However, ablation targeted at the inferolateral RA EEB was required in two cases. Meanwhile, local potentials at the EEB location gradually split into two components with a change in activation sequence. CONCLUSIONS EEB is an underlying cause for intractable CTI-dependent AFL. EEB-mediated structure might show unidirectional conduction. CTI-dependent AFL with EEB at the atrial septum may represent BiAT. Intensive ablation targeting the central isthmus or EEB at the inferolateral RA could block the CTI bidirectionally.

Abstract
Background Aberrant expressions of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been demonstrated to be related to the progress of HCC. The mechanisms that SNHG14 has participated in the development of HCC are obscure. Methods Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to measure the lncRNA, microRNA and mRNA expression level. Cell migration, invasion and proliferation ability were evaluated by transwell and CCK8 assays. The ceRNA regulatory mechanism of SNHG14 was evaluated by RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and dual luciferase reporter assay. Tumorigenesis mouse model was used to explore the roles of miR-876-5p in vivo. The protein levels of SSR2 were measured by western blot assay. Results In this study, we demonstrated that SNHG14 was highly expressed in HCC tissues, meanwhile, the elevated expression of SNHG14 predicted poor prognosis in patients with HCC. SNHG14 promoted proliferation and metastasis of HCC cells. We further revealed that SNHG14 functioned as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) for miR-876-5p and that SSR2 was a downstream target of miR-876-5p in HCC. Transwell, CCK8 and animal experiments exhibited miR-876-5p inhibited HCC progression in vitro and in vivo. By conducting rescue experiments, we found the overexpression of SSR2 or knocking down the level of miR-876-5p could reverse the suppressive roles of SNHG14 depletion in HCC. Conclusion SNHG14 promotes HCC progress by acting as a sponge of miR-876-5p to regulate the expression of SSR2 in HCC. Abstract
Chemical warfare agents, particularly nerve agents such as sarin, are exceptionally harmful and incredibly perilous to people. Thus, the sensitive detection of these gases is indispensable for reducing the risk of chemical weapons. Herein, we fabricated a room-temperature chemiresistive gas sensor based on two-dimensional few-layer tungsten diselenide (WSe2) nanosheets, which were prepared through a facile liquid-phase exfoliation method. The WSe2-based sensor has demonstrated sensitive and selective detection of dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP), which is a well-known simulant of the nerve agent sarin. The sensor based on WSe2 nanosheets revealed a high response reaching 8.91% to 10 ppm DMMP with a fast response time of 100 s. Furthermore, the sensor displayed reliable stability, excellent selectivity, and a low theoretical limit of detection of about 122 ppb. The enhanced sensing performance of WSe2 nanosheets can be ascribed to the increase of the specific surface area, which provides more active adsorption sites for DMMP molecules, thereby facilitating the charge transfer process between DMMP molecules and WSe2 nanosheets. Overall, our results indicate that two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide materials have the potential for the design and fabrication of high-performance nerve agent sensing devices.

Abstract
Toxoplasma gondii infections are common in humans and animals worldwide. Wild and domestic avian species are important in the epidemiology of T. gondii infections because felids prey on them and excrete millions of oocysts in the environment, disseminating the infection. Herbivorous birds are also excellent sentinels of environmental contamination with T. gondii oocysts because they feed on the ground. Toxoplasma gondii infections in birds of prey reflect infections in intermediate hosts. Humans can become infected by consuming undercooked avian tissues. Here, the authors reviewed prevalence, persistence of infection, clinical disease, epidemiology and genetic diversity of T. gondii strains isolated from turkeys, geese, ducks, ratites and avian species (excluding chickens) worldwide 2009-2020. Genetic diversity of 102 T. gondii DNA samples isolated worldwide is discussed. The role of migratory birds in dissemination of T. gondii infection is discussed.

Abstract
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been reported to play critical roles in the pathological development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), one of the most common cancers in the world. Our study aims to explore the expression, function and mechanism of miR-631 in HCC. Our findings are that expression of miR-631 is significantly down-regulated in HCC tissue compared with that in adjacent non-cancerous tissue, and low expression of miR-631 in HCC tissue is associated with cirrhosis, multiple tumors, incomplete tumor encapsulation, poor tumor differentiation, and high TNM stage. Our test results showed that miR-631 could inhibit migration, invasion, epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and intrahepatic metastasis of HCC. Receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase epsilon (PTPRE) as a downstream target of miR-631 could promote migration, invasion and EMT of HCC cells. Besides, the expression of PTPRE had a negative correlation with the expression of miR-631 both in vivo and in vitro, and increasing expression of PTPRE could reverse inhibitory effects of miR-631 in HCC cells. In sum, our study first demonstrated that miR-631 targeted PTPRE to inhibit intrahepatic metastasis in HCC. We gain insights from these findings into the mechanism of miRNAs regulation in HCC metastasis and further introduce a novel therapeutic target for HCC treatment.

Abstract
THE AIM OF THE STUDY To identify the prognostic factors and effects of implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients with ICDs because the clinical characteristics and outcomes of OHCA patients with ICDs are unknown. METHODS The North American Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (ROC) Cardiac Epistry Version 3 dataset was analyzed. Eligible patients were divided into OHCA patients with and without ICDs. Multivariable regressions were employed to analyze. RESULTS Of 51,634 eligible OHCA patients, 581 (1.13%) had implanted ICDs. Among them, 53 (9.1%) patients survived to hospital discharge, and 40 (6.9%) patients had favorable neurological outcome at hospital discharge. Multivariable regression showed ICDs were not associated with OHCA outcomes in the total OHCA patients. In the OHCA patients with ICDs, shockable initial emergency medical services (EMS)-recorded rhythms and the ICD-shock-only defibrillation pattern were independent favorable factors for survival to hospital discharge(OR = 3.3, 95%CI 1.7-6.2, P < 0.001; OR = 2.4, 95%CI 1.1-5.5, P = 0.035, respectively) and neurological outcome at hospital discharge (OR = 6.5, 95%CI 2.9-14.4, P < 0.001; OR = 3.6, 95%CI 1.4-9.1, P = 0.006, respectively). During field resuscitation in OHCA patients with ICDs, at least 34.9% of total patients and 64.6% of patients with initial EMS-recorded VT/VF rhythms needed additional external shocks. CONCLUSIONS Shockable initial EMS-recorded rhythms and ICD-shock-only defibrillation pattern were independent factors for the favorable outcomes of OHCA patients with ICDs. ICDs were not associated with the outcomes of OHCA, and additional external shocks were needed in a substantial number of OHCA patients with ICDs during field resuscitation.

Abstract
PURPOSE Primary melanoma arising in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract is rare and poorly characterized. We sought to describe the epidemiology and survival outcomes of primary GI melanoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS GI melanoma cases were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database by tumor site and histology codes. We calculated age-adjusted incidence, and analyzed demographics, clinical characteristics, as well as overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) of GI melanoma. RESULTS A total of 1080 histologically confirmed cases of primary GI melanoma were identified, with a median age of 71 years (IQR: 59-80). 49.9% of the cases originated from anus, 30.8% had distant disease at diagnosis, and 61.5% received cancer-directed surgery. The distribution of gender and age was varied in GI melanoma subtypes. The incidence of GI melanoma was 0.58 cases per million, and increased remarkably over age, especially in patients aged 60 years or older. The median OS and CSS of the whole cohort was 14 months (95% CI 12.7-15.3) and 22 months (95% CI 18.8-25.2), respectively. Anal melanoma patients had prolonged survival, while those with gastric melanoma had the poorest OS (18 and 4 months, respectively). Multivariate analysis showed that decreased survival was associated with age older than 80 years, gastric and esophageal origin, advanced-stage disease, lymph node metastasis, and without surgery of primary site. CONCLUSION Patients with primary GI melanoma trended to present with advanced-stage disease. Overall, GI melanoma had a poor prognosis, but the outcome differed according to the primary sites.

Abstract
Humans are likely to experience mechanical allodynia and cold hyperalgesia after oxaliplatin intravenous injection. The mechanism by which oxaliplatin leads to these side effects is unknown. Since the hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channels are involved in the automatic depolarization of action potentials, we speculated that HCN channels are involved in oxaliplatin-induced hyperalgesia through action potentials. Our results showed that the density of HCN channel currents and the excitability of dorsal root ganglion neurons both increased after oxaliplatin perfusion at the cellular level. The neuronal hyperexcitability could be alleviated by ivabradine. Ivabradine inhibited oxaliplatin-induced mechanical allodynia and cold hyperalgesia at the individual rat level. Oxaliplatin enhanced the function of HCN channels, which in turn promoted the automatic depolarization of action potentials. The acceleration of automatic depolarization excited the neurons and caused more rapid firing of action potentials. Therefore, the HCN channel is a potential therapeutic target for the hyperalgesia induced by oxaliplatin.

Abstract
A 28-day feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of Yu-Ping-Feng polysaccharides (YPS) containing Astragalus polysaccharides (APS), Atractylodes macrocephala polysaccharides (AMP) and Saposhnikoviae polysaccharides (SPS) on the immune response, intestinal microbiota, disease resistance and growth performance of Litopenaeus vannamei. Seven hundred and twenty shrimp (3.04 ± 0.33 g) were fed the following diets: Control, YPS1 (0.13% APS + 0.0325% AMP + 0.0325% SPS), YPS2 (0.13% APS + 0.0325% AMP + 0.065% SPS) and YPS3 (0.13% APS + 0.0325% AMP+0.0975% SPS). After 14 and 28 days of feeding, the immune responses of hemocytes and intestine were measured. Intestinal microbiota and growth performance were measured after 28 days of feeding, after that, a 7-day challenge test against Vibrio harveyi was conducted. A significant (P < 0.05) increase of the total haemocyte count (THC), phagocytic activity, antibacterial activity and phenoloxidase (PO) activity was observed in shrimp fed YPS diets compared to the control. Also, dietary YPS supplementation particularly YPS3 group significantly increased the expressions of immune-related genes in the hemocytes and intestine. Regarding the intestinal microbiota, the microbial diversity and richness decreased and functional genes associated with short-chain fatty acids metabolism increased in YPS groups. After Vibrio harveyi challenge, the cumulative mortality in YPS groups was significantly lower than that of the control. Besides, dietary YPS had no significant effect on growth performance of shrimp (P > 0.05). The present results suggested that YPS could be considered as potential prebiotics for aquaculture farmed shrimp.

Abstract
A novel phosphate-accumulating organism (PAO), Arthrobacter sp. HHEP5 was isolated from mariculture effluents. It produced no hemolysin and was susceptible to most antibiotics. It had removal efficiencies of above 99% for 1-10 mg/L phosphorus at 18-28 °C, pH 5.5-8.5, salinities 0-3%, C/N ratios 5-20, P/N ratios 0.1-0.2 and 20-260 rpm. It exhibited simultaneous aerobic phosphorus removal, nitrification and denitrification with the highest ammonium, nitrite, nitrate removal efficiencies of 99.87%, 100%, 99.37%. Phosphorus removal was accomplished by assimilating phosphate with the existence of polyphosphate kinase completely under aerobic condition. Genes involved in nitrogen removal were amplified. 99% of phosphorus and 95% of nitrogen in both mariculture and domestic wastewater were removed by HHEP5. This study provided sound methods for future screening of PAOs and new perspectives for renewed cognition of phosphorus removal process. Wide adaptation and remarkably aerobic phosphorus, nitrogen removal performances would make HHEP5 a promising candidate in wastewater treatment.

Abstract
Recently, emerging evidence strongly suggested that the activation of interleukin-27 Receptor α (IL-27Rα) could modulate different inflammatory diseases. However, whether IL-27Rα affects allotransplantation rejection is not fully understood. Here, we investigated the role of IL-27Rα on allorejection both in vivo and in vitro. The skin allotransplantation mice models were established, and the dynamic IL-27Rα/IL-27 expression was detected, and IL-27Rα+ spleen cells adoptive transfer was performed. STAT1/3/5 phosphorylation, proliferation and apoptosis were investigated in mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) with recombinant IL-27 (rIL-27) stimulation. Finally, IFN-γ/ IL-10 in graft/serum from model mice was detected. Results showed higher IL-27Rα/IL-27 expression in allografted group compared that syngrafted group on day 10 (top point of allorejection). IL-27Rα+ spleen cells accelerated allograft rejection in vivo. rIL-27 significantly promoted proliferation, inhibited apoptosis and increased STAT1/3/5 phosphorylation of alloreactive splenocytes, and these effects of rIL-27 could be almost totally blocked by JAK/ STAT inhibitor and anti-IL-27 p28 Ab. Finally, higher IL-27Rα+ IFN-γ+ cells and lower IL-27Rα+ IL-10+ cells within allografts, and high IFN-γ/low IL-10 in serum of allorejecting mice were detected. In conclusion, these data suggested that IL-27Rα+ cells apparently promoted allograft rejection through enhancing alloreactive proliferation, inhibiting apoptosis and up-regulating IFN-γ via enhancing STAT pathway. Blocking IL-27 pathway may favour to prevent allorejection, and IL-27Rα may be as a high selective molecule for targeting diagnosis and therapy for allotransplantation rejection.

Abstract
Toxoplasma gondii infections are common in humans and animals worldwide. The present review summarizes worldwide information on the prevalence of clinical and subclinical infections, epidemiology, diagnosis, control, and genetic diversity of T. gondii in sheep in the past decade. There is debate and uncertainty concerning repeat congenital infection as evidenced by finding T. gondii DNA in progeny of chronically infected sheep. However, there is no concrete evidence that T. gondii is the cause of repeated abortions in sheep. Recent data concerning pathogenesis of abortion in acutely infected sheep are reviewed. PCR-RFLP typing of T. gondii DNA derived from viable T. gondii isolates or tissues of infected sheep revealed low genetic diversity in sheep in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America but high diversity in South America. This review will be of interest to biologists, parasitologists, veterinarians, and public health workers.
