Abstract
Serious human health concerns have been recently raised from daily use of face masks, due to the possible presence of hazardous compounds as the phthalic acid esters (PAEs). In this study, the content of 11 PAEs in 35 commercial masks was assessed by applying a specific and accurate method, using Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry. Surgical, FFP2 and non-surgical models, for both adults and children were collected from the Italian market. Analyses showed that four of the target analytes were detected in all tested samples with median total concentrations ranging between 23.6 mg/kg and 54.3 mg/kg. Results obtained from the experimental analysis were used in the risk assessment studies carried out for both carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic effects. Doses of exposure (Dexp) of PAEs ranged from 6.43 × 10-5 mg/kg bw/day to 1.43 × 10-2 mg/kg bw/day. Cumulative risk assessment was performed for non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic effects. No potential risk was found for non-carcinogenic effects, yet the 20% of the mask samples showed potential carcinogenic effects for humans. A refined exposure assessment was performed showing no risk for carcinogenic effects. This paper presents a risk assessment approach for the identification of potential risks associated to the use of face masks.

Abstract
Given the severe impact of COVID-19 on several societal levels, it is of crucial importance to model the impact of restriction measures on the pandemic evolution, so that governments are able to make informed decisions. Even though there have been countless attempts to propose diverse models since the rise of the outbreak, the increase in data availability and start of vaccination campaigns calls for updated models and studies. Furthermore, most of the works are focused on a very particular place or application and we strive to attain a more general model, resorting to data from different countries. In particular, we compare Great Britain and Israel, two highly different scenarios in terms of vaccination plans and social structure. We build a network-based model, complex enough to model different scenarios of government-mandated restrictions, but generic enough to be applied to any population. To ease the computational load we propose a decomposition strategy for our model.

Abstract
AIM Arterial involvement has been implicated in the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19). Fluorine 18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) imaging is a valuable tool for the assessment of aortic inflammation and is a predictor of outcome. We sought to prospectively assess the presence of aortic inflammation and its time-dependent trend in patients with COVID-19. METHODS Between November 2020 and May 2021, in this pilot, case-control study, we recruited 20 patients with severe or critical COVID-19 (mean age of 59 ± 12 years), while 10 age and sex-matched individuals served as the control group. Aortic inflammation was assessed by measuring 18F-FDG uptake in PET/CT performed 20-120 days post-admission. Global aortic target to background ratio (GLA-TBR) was calculated as the sum of TBRs of ascending and descending aorta, aortic arch, and abdominal aorta divided by 4. Index aortic segment TBR (IAS-TBR) was designated as the aortic segment with the highest TBR. RESULTS There was no significant difference in aortic 18F-FDG PET/CT uptake between patients and controls (GLA-TBR: 1.46 [1.40-1.57] vs. 1.43 [1.32-1.70], respectively, P = 0.422 and IAS-TBR: 1.60 [1.50-1.67] vs. 1.50 [1.42-1.61], respectively, P = 0.155). There was a moderate correlation between aortic TBR values (both GLA and IAS) and time distance from admission to 18F-FDG PET-CT scan (Spearman's rho = - 0.528, P = 0.017 and Spearman's rho = - 0.480, p = 0.032, respectively). Patients who were scanned less than or equal to 60 days from admission (n = 11) had significantly higher GLA-TBR values compared to patients that were examined more than 60 days post-admission (GLA-TBR: 1.53 [1.42-1.60] vs. 1.40 [1.33-1.45], respectively, P = 0.016 and IAS-TBR: 1.64 [1.51-1.74] vs. 1.52 [1.46-1.60], respectively, P = 0.038). There was a significant difference in IAS- TBR between patients scanned ≤ 60 days and controls (1.64 [1.51-1.74] vs. 1.50 [1.41-1.61], P = 0.036). CONCLUSION This is the first study suggesting that aortic inflammation, as assessed by 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging, is increased in the early post COVID phase in patients with severe or critical COVID-19 and largely resolves over time. Our findings may have important implications for the understanding of the course of the disease and for improving our preventive and therapeutic strategies.

Abstract
The global pandemic of COVID-19 had a consequential impact on our lives. (Hydroxy)chloroquine, a well-known drug for treatment or prevention against malaria and chronic inflammatory conditions, was also used for COVID patients with reported potential efficacy. Although it was well tolerated, however in some cases, it produced severe side effects, including grave cardiac issues. The variable reports on the administration of (hydroxy)chloroquine in COVID19 patients led to chaos. This drug is a well-known zinc ionophore, besides possessing antiviral effects. Zinc ionophores augment the intracellular Zn2+ concentration by facilitating the zinc ions into the cells and subsequently impair virus replication. Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) have been reported to possess antiviral activity. However, the adverse effects of both components are also reported. We discussed in depth their possible mechanism as antiviral and smart delivery perspectives through pH-sensitive polymers/ micelles and ZnO NPs.

Abstract
This study was carried out to determine the effect of fear of COVID-19 on health-seeking behaviors and Pap smear test rates in women. This study was conducted online between June and September 2021. Women aged 21-65 years were invited to participate in the study via social media. A total of 396 women comprised the sample for this study. Data were collected the Fear of COVID-19 Scale, and the Health-seeking Behavior Scale. Data were evaluated using descriptive statistics, parametric tests and regression analysis. As a result of the study, 11.1 percent of women were found to have had a Pap smear test during the pandemic period. Fear of COVID-19 was determined to have a positive and significant effect on online health-seeking behavior (t = 7.915, p < .001), professional health-seeking behavior (t = 4.503, p < .001), traditional health-seeking behavior (t = 6.037, p < .001), and general health-seeking behavior(t = 8.390, p < .001) while it did not have any effect on having a Pap smear test (p > .05). This study showed that although the fear of COVID-19 positively affected health-seeking behaviors in women, the rates of gynecological examination and Pap smear test rates were low during the pandemic.

Abstract
PURPOSE The Australian multiple sclerosis (MS) community experienced two recent major crises, widespread bushfires and the COVID 19 pandemic. We aimed to understand the needs of persons with MS during times of crisis. MATERIALS AND METHODS A consumer-directed mixed-method study. We included an online survey, semi-structured interviews, and a workshop with persons with MS, carers, healthcare professionals, and disability advocates. Data were collected via: (1) 176 people completing online surveys to identify crisis concerns and communications, (2) 29 people completing online interviews on bushfire and pandemic impact, and (3) 13 people participating in a crises-priorities workshop. Descriptive data were calculated for survey response, and a general inductive analytical approach was taken with interview and workshop responses. RESULTS The most significant concerns were bushfire smoke exposure and disease-modifying-medication and susceptibility to COVID-19 (66% and 63% mean concern score, respectively). Interviews indicated crises experiences from the bushfires, and the pandemic overlapped respective of changes in mood and symptom stability. For bushfires, a need for future preparations, and for the pandemic, the benefits of social restrictions, disclosing personal health information and increased care burden were important. CONCLUSIONS Multiple crises challenged the MS community but offered lessons for healthcare in future crises. Continued progress in centralised crisis information, with considered use of telehealth and rural healthcare support, is needed.Implications for rehabilitationThe MS community showed high concerns for the effect of toxic smoke from the 2019/2020 Australian bushfires and, separately, for the disease-modifying-medication and susceptibility to COVID-19.The MS community placed priority on a crisis management plan for individuals.Reduced social activity due to restrictions was beneficial for MS symptom self-awareness and may help overall fatigue management.Healthcare system preparation must prepare to alleviate increased carer workload at times of crisis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Rapid progression of COVID-19 pneumonia may put patients at risk of requiring ventilatory support, such as non-invasive mechanical ventilation or endotracheal intubation. Implementing tools that detect COVID-19 pneumonia can improve the patient's healthcare. We aim to evaluate the efficacy and efficiency of the artificial intelligence (AI) tool GE Healthcare's Thoracic Care Suite (featuring Lunit INSIGHT CXR, TCS) to predict the ventilatory support need based on pneumonic progression of COVID-19 on consecutive chest X-rays. METHODS Outpatients with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection, with chest X-ray (CXR) findings probable or indeterminate for COVID-19 pneumonia, who required a second CXR due to unfavorable clinical course, were collected. The number of affected lung fields for the two CXRs was assessed using the AI tool. RESULTS One hundred fourteen patients (57.4 ± 14.2 years, 65 -57%- men) were retrospectively collected. Fifteen (13.2%) required ventilatory support. Progression of pneumonic extension ≥ 0.5 lung fields per day compared to pneumonia onset, detected using the TCS tool, increased the risk of requiring ventilatory support by 4-fold. Analyzing the AI output required 26 seconds of radiological time. CONCLUSIONS Applying the AI tool, Thoracic Care Suite, to CXR of patients with COVID-19 pneumonia allows us to anticipate ventilatory support requirements requiring less than half a minute.

Abstract
Herbal medicines have helped to cure illness because the practice has continued for generations. Multiple alkaloids/compounds that occur naturally (as against single extracts) exhibit synergistic actions such as antiviral, antibacterial, anti-protozoal, and antioxidant. The cases related to viral, protozoal, and bacterial infections were selected. Patients with amoebiasis, E-coli, gastrointestinal infection, skin and urinary tract infections were treated using herbal drugs. Diagnoses were confirmed with investigations. Due to their cost effectiveness, these medicines are in great demand for primary health care with cultural acceptability and minimal side effects. The aim of the reported study is to show the actual use of Indian medicinal plants used for the treatment of various types of infectious diseases. Cases varying from COVID 19 to gastrointestinal infection, viral diseases, skin and wound infections are being treated effectively with herbal drugs.

Abstract
Objective is to determine the risk factors associated with developing tuberculosis in household contacts of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in the epidemiological context of the Covid 19 pandemic. Methods It is descriptive, analytical and cross-sectional, the population of index cases with tuberculosis is 53, and a sample of 59 household contacts of a health center of the Ministry of Health, in Lima, in the months of September and October 2021, two pre-established surveys were applied, one applied in the index case, and another to household contacts; for the association of risk factors, the Mantel and Haenszel Chi-square test was used. Results in the sociodemographic risk, shared housing, with a significance of 0.000; family support, with a significance of 0.006, considered P values < 0.05. Clinical factor, 27.5 % (11) of the index cases have type 2 diabetes mellitus, and 7.5 % (3) have malnutrition, and 7.5 % have alcoholism, 5 % have HIV/AIDS, arterial hypertension, and lack of application of isoniazid preventive therapy (IPT) are associated with a significance level of 0.001, (P < 0.05). Environmental risk, home lighting, hygiene and ventilation are associated with a significance level of 0.017, 0.002 and 0.011 respectively, with P < 0.05. index cases, more than 28 % were infected, 69.8 % were vaccinated; in contacts more than 13 % were infected, and vaccinated more than 47. Conclusion shared housing, family support, associated diseases, lack of implementation of isoniazid preventive therapy (PTZ), home lighting, hygiene and ventilation were the most relevant associated with the development of tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is a global health crisis, attention should focus on controlling tuberculosis in areas where it continues to develop. Given that migration factors are a prevalent condition in the Americas, the focus must address health risk factors to improve health outcomes and care for TB patients in Peru.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The COVID 19 pandemic resulted in the introduction of public health measures including mandated and recommended work from home orders to reduce transmission. This provided a unique opportunity to examine sense of community and social support within the workplace and self-rated general health. This paper examines employees' workplace sense of community and social support across one year of the COVID 19 pandemic and associated self-rated general health. METHODS Analysis of longitudinal data (October 2020, May 2021, and November 2021) from the Employees Working from Home study conducted in Victoria, Australia during the COVID 19 pandemic was undertaken. Trajectory analyses were used to describe workplace sense of community and social support over time. Multinomial logistic regression was used to determine the associations between demographics, gender, caring responsibilities, and group membership based on the Growth Mixture Modelling. Generalised Mixed Models were used to measure effects of sense of community and social support on self-rated health. RESULTS Increasing sense of community and social support in the workplace resulted in increased self-rated health. Trajectory analysis found two stable and distinct groups for sense of community. Social support varied with time; however, trajectory membership was not dependent on gender or caring responsibilities and had no relationship with return to the office. CONCLUSION Sense of community and social support in the workplace are important determinants of employees' health, and as such, workplace strategies to improve sense of community and social support are required not only for employees working from home, but also those who have returned to the office, particularly as hybrid work arrangements become more common.

Abstract
We report a case of double aneuploidy in a preterm male newborn with karyotype 48,XXY,+18 whose mother was of advanced age and infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the early stages of her pregnancy. The clinical features observed in the newborn included intrauterine growth retardation, dysmorphic facial features, overlapping fingers on both hands, respiratory distress syndrome, ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, persistent pulmonary hypertension, and bilateral clubfoot, a phenotype that mainly correlates with Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18). To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of double aneuploidy in Croatia. This paper provides a detailed description of the clinical presentation and treatment strategies used, with the aim of providing valuable data for future recognition and management of similar cases. Furthermore, we discuss the mechanisms of nondisjunction that might account for this rare form of aneuploidy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Diabetes mellitus and prediabetes have been shown to be associated with high rates of developing severe COVID 19 complications resulting in morbidity and mortality. Emerging reports suggest that COVID 19 is associated with glycaemic control aberrations, although the extent is not clear at present. Accordingly, in this review, the efforts are directed to shed light on why we can anticipate an increase in diabetes cases amid or post-COVID 19 pandemic. METHODS Articles reviewed were identified using the Google Scholar database, and the search was done using the English language. RESULTS Previous studies have shown that viral inflammation triggers insulin resistance, which can progress to overt diabetes. SARS-CoV-2 has also been shown to cause acute pancreatitis, which can increase the risk of developing diabetes mellitus. The control of the COVID 19 pandemic partly relied on non-pharmaceutical measures, which included lockdowns. This resulted in a lack of physical activity and unhealthy eating behaviour, which could contribute to obesity and, ultimately, insulin resistance. CONCLUSION While no concrete data has been established on the possibility of seeing an increase in diabetes prevalence due to COVID 19, studies are necessary to establish the link. Despite the unavailability of data at present, we suggest that frequent screening of diabetes and prediabetes should be encouraged, especially in those individuals with a history of COVID 19 infection.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The main protease is an important structural protein of SARS-CoV-2, essential for its survivability inside a human host. Considering current vaccines' limitations and the absence of approved therapeutic targets, Mpro may be regarded as the potential candidate drug target. Novel fungal phytocompound Astrakurkurone may be studied as the potential Mpro inhibitor, considering its medicinal properties reported elsewhere. METHODS In silico molecular docking was performed with Astrakurkurone and its twenty pharmacophore-based analogues against the native Mpro protein. A hypothetical Mpro was also constructed with seven mutations and targeted by Astrakurkurone and its analogues. Furthermore, multiple parameters such as statistical analysis (Principal Component Analysis), pharmacophore alignment, and drug likeness evaluation were performed to understand the mechanism of protein-ligand molecular interaction. Finally, molecular dynamic simulation was done for the top-ranking ligands to validate the result. RESULT We identified twenty Astrakurkurone analogues through pharmacophore screening methodology. Among these twenty compounds, two analogues namely, ZINC89341287 and ZINC12128321 showed the highest inhibitory potentials against native and our hypothetical mutant Mpro, respectively (-7.7 and -7.3 kcal mol-1) when compared with the control drug Telaprevir (-5.9 and -6.0 kcal mol-1). Finally, we observed that functional groups of ligands namely two aromatic and one acceptor groups were responsible for the residual interaction with the target proteins. The molecular dynamic simulation further revealed that these compounds could make a stable complex with their respective protein targets in the near-native physiological condition. CONCLUSION To conclude, Astrakurkurone analogues ZINC89341287 and ZINC12128321 can be potential therapeutic agents against the highly infectious SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Abstract
COVID-19 is a viral infection with predominant respiratory tropism. In its most severe forms, the initial viral aggression leads to acute respiratory failure due to damage secondary to an exacerbated inflammatory response provoked by the activation of innate, followed by adaptive immunity. The inflammatory response may entail respiratory distress syndrome, if not multivisceral failure and death. IL-6 receptor inhibitors (Tocilizumab and Sarilumab) have been proposed as treatments. Numerous studies have provided new information, which remains heterogeneous and difficult to interpret. This review is aimed at clarifying the potential role of IL-6 receptor inhibitors in severe forms of COVID-19.

Abstract
PURPOSE We report our single-center experience on the neurological manifestations of long COVID. PATIENTS AND METHODS This is a retrospective observational study. All consecutive patients referred to the neurological long COVID outpatient clinic of our institute from January 21 2021 to December 9 2021 underwent a general neurological objective examination. Treatments and investigations (brain MRI, neuropsychological evaluation, or others) were prescribed on an individual basis as per standard clinical practice. A follow-up visit was performed when appropriate. Descriptive statistics were presented as absolute and relative frequencies for categorical variables and as means, median, and ranges for continuous variables. RESULTS One hundred and three patients were visited (mean age 50.5 ±36 years, 62 females). The average time from acute COVID-19 infection to the first visit to our outpatient clinic was 243 days. Most patients presented with a mild form of acute COVID-19, with only 24 cases requiring hospitalization. The neurological symptoms mostly (n=70/103, 68%) started during the acute phase (before a negative swab for SARS-CoV-2). The most frequent acute manifestations reported, which lately became persistent, were fatigue (n=58/103, 56%), olfactory/taste dysfunction (n=58/103, 56%), headache (n=47/103, 46%), cognitive disorders (n=46/103, 45%), sleep disorders (n=30/103, 29%), sensitivity alterations (n=29/103, 28%), and dizziness (n=7/103, 7%). Tremor was also reported (n=8/103, 7%). Neuropsychological evaluation was performed in 30 patients and revealed alterations in executive functions (n=6/30, 20%), memory (n=11/30, 37%), with pathological depressive (n=9/30, 30%) and anxiety (n=8/30, 27%) scores. Brain MRIs have been performed in 41 cases, revealing nonspecific abnormal findings only in 4 cases. Thirty-six patients underwent a follow-up, where a general improvement was observed but rarely (n=2/36) a complete recovery. CONCLUSION The majority of patients presenting persistent neurological symptoms (most frequently fatigue, cognitive disorders, and olfactory dysfunctions) developed a previous mild form of COVID-19. Further studies are required to develop therapeutic strategies.

Abstract
COVID-19 exposed major gaps in global, regional, state, and local responses to public health emergencies. In preparation for the WHA Special Session to consider the benefits of developing an international instrument on pandemic preparedness, the O'Neill Institute in partnership with Foundation for the National Institutes of Health convened 30 of the world's leading authorities on global health law, financing, biomedical science, implementation, and emergency response along with leaders from prominent international organizations. This meeting was followed by regional consultations convened in Latin America-Caribbean, Africa, and Southeast Asia. These high-level expert consultations generated in-depth discussions on weaknesses and persisting gaps in global pandemic preparedness and what a new international agreement might include to address them. Regional intergovernmental organizations like PAHO can work closely with related multilateral development banks to develop financial instruments that can smooth systemic economic disruption; and regional centers of research and manufacturing excellence can offer a strong front line for producing medicines and vaccines rapidly during a pandemic. With our research focused on the regional response to COVID-19 we are able to look at country responses individually and collectively to see how Latin America - Caribbean countries can capitalize and leverage their regional connections to strengthen their pandemic preparedness and response. By identifying existing gaps and examining the responses and approaches taken by PAHO, we can better understand the role of international and regional organizations and their collaborating centers in preparing and responding to pandemics.

Abstract
Introduction The lack of local side effect profiles for vaccines could hinder vaccination uptake. Since all COVID-19 vaccines are brand-new medications, it is crucial to keep track of any safety related concern. Objective This study is aimed to investigate post-vaccination side effects of COVID-19 vaccines and associated factors in Bahir Dar city. Method An institutional-based cross-sectional study was conducted among vaccinated clients. A simple random and a systematic random sampling method were used to select the health facilities and the participants, respectively. Bi-variable and multivariable binary logistic regression analyses were executed with odds ratio at 95% confidence intervals at p < .05. Results A total of 72(17.4%) participants reported at least one side effect following vaccination. The proportion prevalence was higher after the first dose than that of the second dose and the difference was also found to be statistically significant. In the multivariable logistic regression analysis female participants (AOR = 3.39, 95% CI = 1.53, 7.52), participants with a history of regular medication use (AOR = 3.34, 95% CI = 1.52, 7.33), participants aged 55 and above (AOR = 2.93, 95% CI = 1.23, 7.01), and participants who had taken only the first dose (AOR = 14.81, 95% CI = 6.40, 34.31) were more likely to develop side effects for COVID 19 vaccination compared to their counterparts. Conclusion A significant number (17.4%) of participants reported at least one side effect following vaccination. Sex, medication, occupation, age, and type of vaccination dose were factors statistically associated with the reported side effects.

Abstract
Human urinary proteins are a goldmine of natural proteins a feature that simplifies their translation to biologics. Combining this goldmine together with the ligand-affinity-chromatography (LAC) purification method, proved a winning formula in their isolation. LAC specificity, efficiency, simplicity and inherent indispensability in the search for predictable and unpredictable proteins, is superior to other separation techniques. Unlimited amounts of recombinant cytokines and monoclonal antibodies (mAb) accelerated the "triumph". My approach concluded 35 years of worldwide pursuit for Type I IFN receptor (IFNAR2) and advanced the understanding of the signal transduction of this Type of IFN. TNF, IFNγ and IL-6 as baits enabled the isolation of their corresponding soluble receptors and N-terminal amino acid sequence of the isolated proteins facilitated the cloning of their cell surface counterparts. IL-18, IL-32, and heparanase as the baits yielded the corresponding unpredictable proteins: the antidote IL-18 Binding Protein (IL-18BP), the enzyme Proteinase 3 (PR3) and the hormone Resistin. IFNβ proved beneficial in Multiple Sclerosis and is a blockbuster drug, Rebif®. TNF mAbs translated into Remicade® to treat Crohn's disease. Enbrel® based on TBPII is for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Both are blockbusters. Tadekinig alfa™, a recombinant IL-18BP, is in phase III clinical study for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Seven years of continuous compassionate use of Tadekinig alfa™ in children born with mutations (NLRC4, XIAP) proved life-saving and is an example of tailored made medicine. IL-18 is a checkpoint biomarker in cancer and IL-18BP is planned recently to target cytokine storms resulting from CAR-T treatment and in COVID 19.

Abstract
Many publications have demonstrated the detrimental effects of school closures on children, families and communities in the past two years of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, there is a surge of Omicron cases as children prepare to return to school around the world. While many children are asymptomatic or have mild disease, it is nevertheless an important problem. As we focus on vaccinations in the 5-12-year-old group, we should consider other risk mitigation factors to keep school open, and children safe.

Abstract
With the invent of smart phones, tele-dermatology has become a cheap and cost-effective medium to provide medical services to rural population. Its usefulness is more prominently noted during the COVID 19 pandemic and much more in countries with difficult terrain with limited specialist health providers. Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a neglected tropical disease which may cause significant disability if treatment is delayed. Here, we discuss three cases of CL from a remote district by use of tele-dermatology during the pandemic lockdown.

Abstract
We report the case of a 19-year-old female patient who developed Myasthenia Gravis 13 days after SARS-CoV-2 infection with positive RT-PCR testing. Her symptoms initially involved the oculo-bulbar district, but they gradually worsened in 3 months converting into a generalized form of Myasthenia Gravis complicated with a myasthenic crisis. A high level of anti-acetylcholine receptor antibodies was found in the serum, while anti-MuSK antibodies were negative; Repetitive Nerve Stimulation and Single-fiber Electromyography were suggestive of Myasthenia Gravis. Intravenous immunoglobulin courses and specific therapy were able to improve her symptoms, but thymic resection was needed to control the disease. This is a report of new-onset Myasthenia Gravis correlated to COVID-19 in which thymic resection was described and the histologic analysis of the thymus was performed showing thymic hyperplasia despite negative thoracic Magnetic Resonance Imaging. SARS-CoV-2 infection releases inflammatory cytokines that could dysregulate the immune system and lead to Myasthenia Gravis in susceptible subjects.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the impact of postponed care attributed to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic lockdowns on visual acuity and the number of anti-VEGF injections in patients with retinal vein occlusion (RVO). METHODS A multicenter, retrospective study of consecutive RVO patients previously treated with anti-VEGF injections, which compared data from pre- (2019) and during (2020) COVID-19 lockdown period. RESULTS A total of 814 RVO patients with a mean age of 72.8 years met the inclusion criteria. Of them, 439 patients were assessed in 2019 and 375 in 2020. There was no significant difference between the COVID-19 and pre-COVID-19 period in terms of baseline and final BCVA (p = 0.7 and 0.9 respectively), but there was a significantly reduced mean number of anti-VEGF injections during the COVID-19 period (5.0 and. 5.9 respectively, p < 0.01), with a constant lower ratio of injections per patient. A noticeable decline was found during March-May (p < 0.01) in 2020. Baseline BCVA (0.69, p < 0.01) and the number of injections (- 0.01, p = 0.01) were predictors of final BCVA. CONCLUSIONS In a large cohort of RVO patients, during 2020 lockdowns imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant reduction in the annual number of anti-VEGF injections was noted. The postponed care did not result in a significant impact on the final BCVA. Baseline BCVA and the number of annual injections serve as predictors for final BCVA in RVO patients.

Abstract
Background Long COVID is new or ongoing symptoms at four weeks or more after the start of acute COVID-19. However, the prevalence and factors associated with long COVID are largely unknown in Malaysia. We aim to determine the proportion and factors associated with long COVID among COVID-19 patients in Port Dickson, Malaysia. The positive outcomes of our long COVID active detection initiative were also described. Methods This was a retrospective analysis of long COVID data collected by the Port Dickson District Health Office between 1 September 2021 to 31 October 2021. Monitoring long COVID symptoms was our quality improvement initiative to safeguard residents' health in the district. The study population was patients previously diagnosed with COVID-19 who resided in Port Dickson. The inclusion criteria were adults aged 18 years and above and were in the fifth week (day 29 to 35) post-COVID-19 diagnosis during the data collection period. We called all consecutive eligible patients to inquire regarding long COVID symptoms. Long COVID was defined as new or ongoing symptoms lasting more than 28 days from the date of positive SARS-CoV-2 by polymerase chain reaction test. Binary multivariate logistic regression was conducted to determine factors associated with long COVID. Results Among 452 patients, they were predominantly male (54.2%), Malays (68.8%) and aged 18-29 years (58.6%). A total of 27.4% (95% CI [23.4-31.8]) of patients experienced long COVID symptoms and were referred to government clinics. The most frequent long COVID symptoms experienced were fatigue (54.0%), cough (20.2%), muscle pain (18.5%), headache (17.7%) and sleep disturbance (16.1%). Females, patients with underlying cardiovascular disease, asthma and chronic obstructive airway disease, those who received symptomatic care, and patients with myalgia and headaches at COVID-19 diagnosis were more likely to have long COVID. Three patients with suspected severe mental health problems were referred to the district psychologist, and ten patients with no/incomplete vaccination were referred for vaccination. Conclusion Long COVID is highly prevalent among COVID-19 patients in Port Dickson, Malaysia. Long-term surveillance and management of long COVID, especially among the high-risk groups, are needed as we transition to living with COVID-19.

Abstract
Objectives Long COVID syndrome, the poorly defined illness, has been increasingly mentioned in recent studies yet is still poorly understood especially when it comes to precipitating and modulating factors, the high prevalence of mental health problems associated with the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light the hypothesis of the existence of a psychological component associated with the persistence of symptoms and if vaccination may serve as a modulating factor. This study aims to examine the prevalence of somatization disorders and association between persistent COVID-19 symptoms and COVID-19 vaccine with somatization among a sample of the Lebanese general population. Methods A cross-sectional study was carried out between September and October 2021. The snowball sampling technique was picked to choose a sample that addressed all Lebanese Mohafazat. Patient Health Questionnaire-15 (PHQ-15) was used to assess somatization. Results A total of 403 participants was enrolled in this study, with a mean age of 32.76 ± 13.24 years, 108 (26.8%) had medium somatization symptoms (PHQ-15 scores ≥10). Having persistent COVID symptoms (β=2.15) was significantly associated with more somatization, whereas the intake of COVID vaccine (β=-1.17) was significantly associated with less somatization. Conclusion Long lasting COVID-19 symptoms were closely related to somatization, although the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine was associated with less somatization. However, further studies are needed to provide a better understanding of the relationship between long COVID and somatization, on one hand, and the modulating factors on the other hand.

Abstract
The Coronavirus, known as COVID-19, which appeared in 2019 in China, has significantly affected the global health and become a huge burden on health institutions all over the world. These effects are continuing today. One strategy for limiting the virus's transmission is to have an early diagnosis of suspected cases and take appropriate measures before the disease spreads further. This work aims to diagnose and show the probability of getting infected by the disease according to textual clinical data. In this work, we used five machine learning techniques (GWO_MLP, GWO_CMLP, MGWO_MLP, FDO_MLP, FDO_CMLP) all of which aim to classify Covid-19 patients into two categories (Positive and Negative). Experiments showed promising results for all used models. The applied methods showed very similar performance, typically in terms of accuracy. However, in each tested dataset, FDO_MLP and FDO_CMLP produced the best results with 100% accuracy. The other models' results varied from one experiment to the other. It is concluded that the models on which the FDO algorithm was used as a learning algorithm had the possibility of obtaining higher accuracy. Abstract
As adolescence is the most sensitive period of human development, characterized by many physical, psychological, cognitive and emotional changes that affect all adolescents, some more to some less also not forgetting that in recent years we have faced a difficult situation caused by COVID 19, a period of dealing with many health problems, loss of loved ones, closing schools and switching to online learning, isolation social. Our study is focused on adolescence and specifically depression in adolescents of lower secondary schools and upper secondary schools in the municipality of Pristina to know more closely the consequences of COVID 19 in adolescents.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The first wave of COVID-19 in Calgary, Alberta accelerated the integration of primary care with the province's centrally managed health system. This integration aimed to deliver wraparound in-community patient care through two interventions that combined to create the COVID-19 Integrated Pathway (CIP). The CIP's interventions were: 1) a data sharing platform that ensured COVID-19 test results were directly available to family physicians (FPs), and 2) a clinical algorithm that supported FPs in delivering in-community follow up to improve patient outcomes. We describe the CIP function and its capacity to facilitate FP follow-up with COVID-19 patients and evaluate its impact on Emergency Department (ED) visits and hospitalization. METHOD We generated descriptive statistics by analyzing data from a Calgary Zone hub clinic called the Calgary COVID-19 Care Clinic (C4), provincially maintained records of hospitalization, ED visits, and physician claims. RESULTS Between Apr. 16 and Sep. 27, 2020, 7289 patients were referred by the Calgary Public Health team to the C4 clinic. Of those, 48.6% were female, the median age was 37.4 y. 97% of patients had at least one visit with a healthcare professional, where follow-up was conducted using the CIP's algorithm. 5.1% of patients visited an ED and 1.9% were hospitalized within 30 days of diagnosis. 75% of patients had a median of 4 visits with their FP. DISCUSSION Our data suggest that information exchange between Primary Care (PC) and central systems facilitates primary care-based management of patients with COVID-19 in the community and has potential to reduce acute care visits.

Abstract
PURPOSE Abdominal thromboses are a poorly characterized thrombotic complication of COVID-19. The aim of this paper is to report multimodality ultrasound imaging findings of the abdomen in evaluation of thrombotic lesions in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. PATIENTS & METHODS In this retrospective observational study, patients admitted to a single University Hospital from April 1, 2020 to April 30, 2022, who tested positive for COVID-19 and developed acute abdominal pain over the course of hospitalization were included. Abdominal ultrasound imaging studies performed in these patients were reviewed, including B mode ultrasound (BMUS), color-coded Doppler ultrasound (CCDS) and contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS). Thromboembolic findings on contrast enhanced computed tomography (CTA) were also recorded. RESULTS Finally, 13 cases of abdominal thrombosis in 226 with COVID 19 infections were included (mean age, 56.69±8.97 years; 10 men, 3 women). Thromboembolic events included: iliac thrombosis (n = 4), portal venous (PV) thrombosis (n = 3), superior mesenteric vein (VMS) thrombosis (n = 2), inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombosis (n = 5) and inferior mesenteric vein (VMI) thrombosis (n = 1). In all cases of abdominal thrombosis, during high resolution BMUS scan, intra-luminary hypoechogenic appositional thrombi could be detected. Meanwhile blood flow with reduced speed less than 20 cm/s could be observed by CCDS. High arterial flow speed was a sign of collateral flow changes with diffuse venous dilatation. On CEUS, changes of the microcirculation of the liver, spleen, kidneys or small bowel by infarctions or micro-emboli could be detected. In 3 cases of PV thrombosis and in 2 cases of IVC thrombosis, catheter interventions were successful performed for recanalization without relevant lumen reduction afterwards. In other cases, without interventional procedure, partial recanalization happened with venous flow speed over 15 cm/s and lumen reduction more than 50%. CONCLUSIONS Our study highlights those thromboembolic complications can be seen in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Multimodality ultrasound examinations is helpful for early and accurate diagnosis of these complications.

Abstract
In December 2019, COVID-19 epidemic was reported in Wuhan, China, and subsequently the infection has spread all over the world and became pandemic. The death toll associated with the pandemic is increasing day by day in a high rate. Herein, an effort has been made to identify the potentiality of commercially available drugs and also their probable derivatives for creation of better opportunity to make more powerful drugs against coronavirus. This study involves the in-silico interactions of dexamethasone and its derivatives against the multiple proteins of SARS-CoV-2 with the help of various computational methods. Descriptor parameters revealed their non-toxic effect in the human body. Ultimately docking studies and molecular dynamic simulation on those target protein by dexamethasone and its derivatives showed a high binding energy. Dexamethasone showed -9.8 kcal/mol and its derivative D5 showed -12.1 kcal/mol binding energy. Those scores indicate that dexamethasone has more therapeutic effect on SARS CoV-2 than other currently used drugs. Derivatives give the clue for the synthesis of a novel drug to remove SARS CoV-2. Until then, dexamethasone will be used as a potential inhibitor of SARS CoV-2.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Post-COVID-19 multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS) has been increasingly recognized but fever with isolated tender cervical lymphadenitis as the initial presentation has been rarely reported. We present 2 female patients one a child and the other an adolescent. CASE PRESENTATION Case 1 was a 13-year-old girl who presented with tender cervical lymphadenopathy and fever 3-weeks post-COVID-19, and then developed features of MIS 5 days later. Case 2, also female, was 18 years old. She had no history of COVID-19 infection or immunization but had a serologic diagnosis of COVID-19. She similarly presented with fever and tender cervical lymphadenopathy, and then progressed rapidly to develop features of MIS. Both patients responded well to treatment with immunosuppressants and intravenous immunoglobulin. CONCLUSION Tender cervical lymphadenopathy could be the herald of multi-system inflammatory syndrome following COVID-19 infection among children and adolescents, which the clinicians must have a good suspicion about.

Abstract
Dramatic events during the COVID-19 pandemic have acutely impacted the psychosocial environment worldwide, with negative implications for mental health, particularly for more vulnerable children and adolescents with severe psychiatric illnesses. Some data suggest that the pandemic waves may have produced different psychopathological consequences, further worsening in the second phase of the pandemic, compared to those in the first lockdown, soon after March 2020. To test the hypothesis of a further worsening of psychiatric consequences of COVID-19 in the second lockdown compared to the first lockdown, we focused our analysis on a consecutive sample of youth referred to a psychiatric emergency unit for acute mental disorders in the time period between March 2019-March 2021. The sample, consisting of 241 subjects (123 males and 118 females, ranging in age from 11 to 17 years), was divided into three groups: Pre-Lockdown Group (PLG, 115 patients); First Lockdown Group (FLG, 65 patients); and Second Lockdown Group (SLG, 61 patients). Patients in the SLG presented more frequently with non-suicidal self-injuries (NSSIs), suicidal ideation, and suicidal behavior, while no significant differences in self-harm were found between PLG and FLG. Eating disorders were more frequent in both the FLG and SLG, compared to the PLG, while sleep problems were higher only in the SLG. Furthermore, patients in the SLG presented with more frequent psychological maltreatments and neglect, as well as with psychiatric disorders in the parents. Adverse traumatic experiences and internalizing disorders were significantly associated with an increased risk of suicidality. Intellectual disability was less represented from the PLG to SLG, and similarly, the rate of ADHD was lower in the SLG. No differences were found for the other psychiatric diagnoses. This information may be helpful for a better understanding and management of adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral disorders after the exposure to long-lasting collective traumas.

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS ESPEN guidelines advocate that energy needs of critically ill patients with COVID 19 should be assessed using indirect calorimetry, if safely available. This study described energy needs of intubated patients with COVID-19 and explores whether neuromuscular blockade administration (NMBAs) is associated with altered energy expenditure. METHODS Resting energy expenditure (REE) and respiratory exchange rate (RER) evaluated among critically ill intubated COVID-19 patients until 28th day of intensive care unit stay (ICU-S) by indirect calorimetry. Paralysed patients were defined as those with drug induced paralysis using cicatracurium, for at least 3 days during their ICU-S. RESULTS 34 adult COVID 19 patients (59.8% male, 35.2% obese) requiring mechanical ventilation were assessed prospectively. REE measurements suggest a gradual increase of energy needs post 3rd day of ICU-S in both patients without obesity (non ob) ((from 17.8 kcal/kgr up to 29.3 kcal/kgr actual body weight (AcBW) during 28th day of ICU-S, p = 0.011)) and patients with obesity (ob) ((from 18.1 kcal/kgr up to 30.1 kcal/kgr adjusted body weight (AjBW) during 28th day of ICU-S, p = 0.021)). NMBAs use was accompanied by a significant drop in REE, especially during first 7 days of hospitalization, both in non ob (22.9 vs 17.9 kcal/kgr AcBW, p = 0.014) and ob patients (22.5 vs 19.5 kcal/kgr ABW, p = 0.027). CONCLUSION We identified the energy needs of COVID-19 intubated patients and highlighted a significant increase beyond the 1st week in the ICU. Administration of NMBAs should be considered, as it may impact resting energy expenditure.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Diabetes is a chronic metabolic condition characterized by hyperglycemia and is associated with several complications. Prevalence of Diabetes in adult population in India ranges from 10.9 to 14.2% in urban area and 3.0-7.8% in rural area. Glycemic control is an important factor in preventing the complications associated with diabetes. HBA1c is the indicator of long-term glycemic control and slight variation in it significantly alters the risk of diabetic complications. Thus, the aim of this study was to study the change in HBA1c levels due to lock down in patients with diabetes. METHODS 307 patients with diabetes who had attended our endocrine OPD in last 3 months before nationwide 68 days lockdown from 24 March 2020 to 31 May 2020, and had recent HBA1c report in past and willing to participate were included in the study after informed consent from 2nd June 2020 to 14th June 2020 when first phase of Unlock started, to identify the change in HBA1c levels during the lockdown period in our patients with diabetes. RESULTS The patients were aged between 25-69 years and male to female ratio was 181:126 (1.44: 1). The mean age and mean duration of diabetes in our patients was 55.68 years and 7.95 years respectively. Increment of 0.51% was seen in mean HBA1c levels in our patient from 7.92% mean pre-lockdown HBA1c to mean of 8.43% after release of lock down. CONCLUSION Glycemic control got deranged during lockdown period with significant increase of mean HBA1c by 0.51% in immediate post lock down period which may significantly increase the annual incidence of complications related to diabetes.

Choice of right food can help to build and boost adaptive immunity and pumpkin due to excellent profile of functional and nutraceutical constituents must be the part of both infected and non-infected person's daily diet. Vitamins, minerals, phenolic acids, essential oils, peptides, carotenoids and polysaccharides present in pumpkin could accommodate the prevailing deficiencies in the body to fought against the pathogens. Pumpkins are well equipped with nutraceuticals and functional ingredients therefore, consumption and processing of this remarkable fruit must be encouraged as pharma food due to its antihyperlipidemic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antihyperglycemic, immunomodulatory, antihypertensive, antimicrobial and antioxidant potential, and these pharmacological properties of pumpkin are directly or indirectly related to the COVID 19 outbreak. Utilization of pumpkin has a domain in the form of powders, extracts, isolates, and pumpkin incorporated food products. A wide range of healthy, nutritious and functional food products has been developed from pumpkin, which includes juice, soup, porridge, chips, biscuits, bread, cake, bar and noodles. In recent times some innovative and novel technologies have been applied to process and preserve pumpkin for its enhanced shelf life and bioaccessibility of nutrients. Need of healthy eating in current post COVID 19 period is very crucial for healthy population, and medicinal foods like pumpkin, and bioactive compounds present in this functional food could play a vital role in developing a healthy community around the globe.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nutritional deficiency is associated with weaken immune system and increased susceptibility to infection. Among other nutrients, several trace elements have been shown to regulate immune responses. Iron is one of the most abundant trace elements present in our body, which is required in various biological processes. Iron has an immunomodulatory function and thus influence the susceptibility to the course and outcome of a variety of viral infections. So, this present study was aimed to study relations of different iron-related biomarkers in association to severity and mortality in SARS-CoV-2 patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 150 individuals infected with COVID-19 and 50 healthy individuals were recruited. Cases were divided based on severity (mild, moderate, and severe) and outcome (discharged or deceased). Serum iron, TIBC, ferritin, transferrin, transferrin saturation levels were analyzed by the direct colourimetric method. RESULTS In cases the median levels of serum iron, TIBC, transferrin, transferrin saturation and ferritin are 29 µg/dL, 132.53 µg/dL, 106.3 mg/dL, 17.74 % and 702.9 ng/dL respectively. Similarly, in controls the median levels of serum iron, TIBC, transferrin, transferrin saturation and ferritin are 53 µg/dL, 391.88 µg/dL, 313.51 mg/dL, 12.81 % and 13.52 ng/dL respectively. On comparing the cases with the controls, a significant lower level of iron, TIBC, and transferrin were found in the cases along with the significant higher levels of ferritin and transferrin saturation. On comparing the Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of Iron, Ferritin, Transferrin, Transferrin sat % and TIBC in relation to survival in COVID-19 patients it was found that iron, followed by transferrin and ferritin has the highest area under the curve (AUC) with 74 %, 63 % and 61 % respectively. Further, in pairwise analysis of ROC curve, a significant difference was found between the Iron-transferrin (p < 0.01), iron-TIBC (p < 0.001) and transferrin-ferritin (P < 0.01). The multiple regression model based on Iron and transferrin outperformed any other combination of variables via stepwise AIC selection with an AUC of 98.2 %. The cutoff point according to Youden's J index is characterized with a sensitivity of 98 % and a specificity of 96.8 %, indicating that iron along with transferrin can be a useful marker that may contribute to a better assessment of survival chances in COVID-19. CONCLUSION Our study demonstrated a significantly decreased levels of iron, TIBC, & transferrin and a significantly increased levels of ferritin and transferrin saturation in COVID-19 patients when compared with controls. Further, Iron and transferrin were observed to be a good predictor of mortality in patients with COVID-19. From the above analysis we confirm that iron-related biomarkers play an important role in the development of oxidative stress and further lead to activation of the cytokine storm. So, continuous monitoring of these parameters could be helpful in the early detection of individuals developing the severe disease and can be used to decrease mortality in upcoming new waves of COVID-19.

Abstract
The COVID 19 pandemic has required major changes in healthcare delivery. This study sought to understand the impact of the mental healthcare changes associated with COVID-19 on people living with severe and persisting mental illness (SPMI) and staff working in rehabilitation teams in Queensland in Australia. Telephone interviews were completed with participants diagnosed with SPMI who were supported by the rehabilitation teams of a public mental health service (n = 18). Additionally, an anonymous survey was completed with staff from these teams (n = 20, 17.5% of staff). Both datasets were analysed separately using thematic analysis. Four themes were identified through the analysis of the patient interviews: wishing the whole thing would go away; [COVID-19 has] delayed my recovery; being more socially aware; and (you've) got to be clean (which is a) good thing. Four themes emerged through the analysis of the staff survey data: needing to change the model of care; impact on patients, the impact on staff, positive impact. The perceived impact on participant's mental health was like that which was reported in the general population. Participants' emphasised anxiety, loneliness, boredom, and depression rather than a relapse of their primary psychotic illness. Participants noted the pandemic slowed the pace of personal recovery and limited the delivery of specialised rehabilitation programs. Abstract
In the past few years, most of the work has been done around the classification of covid-19 using different images like CT-scan, X-ray, and ultrasound. But none of that is capable enough to deal with each of these image types on a single common platform and can identify the possibility that a person is suffering from COVID or not. Thus, we realized there should be a platform to identify COVID-19 in CT-scan and X-ray images on the fly. So, to fulfill this need, we proposed an AI model to identify CT-scan and X-ray images from each other and then use this inference to classify them of COVID positive or negative. The proposed model uses the inception architecture under the hood and trains on the open-source extended covid-19 dataset. The dataset consists of plenty of images for both image types and is of size 4 GB. We achieved an accuracy of 100%, average macro-Precision of 100%, average macro-Recall of 100%, average macro f1-score of 100%, and AUC score of 99.6%. Furthermore, in this work, cloud-based architecture is proposed to massively scale and load balance as the Number of user requests rises. As a result, it will deliver a service with minimal latency to all users.

Abstract
The features of the cruise value offering that once appealed to the cruising market have changed as a result of COVID 19. This paper employs a choice experiment to reveal how COVID-19 has influenced consumer preferences for and trade-offs between specific aspects of the cruise experience across four different COVID-19 scenarios. Such insight is highly valuable for cruise organisations seeking to better understand the evaluative criteria by which their consumer segments are now making decisions. Theoretically, this study employs Protection Motivation Theory to determine how ones self-rated ability to protect themselves against the virus while cruising may in turn influence choice behaviour. Our research is the first to report actual choice behaviours of cruise consumers adopting a choice modelling method.

Abstract
One of the environmental effects of COVID 19 is the contamination of ecosystems with antibiotics due to their high consumption to treat this disease. Many years ago, the distribution of antibiotics including azithromycin (Azi) in wastewater treatment plants in Bushehr city, seawater, and sediment of the Persian Gulf has been investigated. As Azi has been prescribed to COVID 19 patients, contamination of the environment with this drug can also be assumed. Thus, we decided to examine this hypothesis by repeating our previous study during COVID 19 period. We collected wastewater samples from influent, effluent, and different units of three wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) including one municipal WWTP (Plant A) and two hospital-WWTPs (Plant B and C). Seawater and adjusted sediments were gathered from 8 stations located in the Persian Gulf in two seasons to evaluate the special and temporal variation. The results showed a huge growth of Azi pollution in all studied matrixes. The mean Azi values in the influent of Plant A, B, and C were 145 ng/L, 110 ng/L, and 896 ng/L, which represented an 9, 6, and 48-time increase compared with those obtained in 2017 (before COVID 19). The Azi removal efficiency had a different behavior compared to before COVID 19. The mean concentration of Azi in seawater and sediment samples was 9 ng/L and 6 ng/g, which was 3 and 4-fold higher than the previous study. Opposed to our former study, the Azi amount in the aqueous phase was less subjected to temporal seasonal variations. Our observations indicated the wide distribution of Azi in the environment and a future threat of intense growth of antibiotic resistance in ecosystems.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate the most effective combination of autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA), a time series model, and association rule mining (ARM) techniques to identify meaningful prognostic factors and predict the number of cases for efficient COVID-19 crisis management. METHODS The 3685 COVID-19 patients admitted at Thailand's first university field hospital following the four waves of infections from March 2020 to August 2021 were analyzed using the autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA), its derivative to exogenous variables (ARIMAX), and association rule mining (ARM). RESULTS The ARIMA (2, 2, 2) model with an optimized parameter set predicted the number of the COVID-19 cases admitted at the hospital with acceptable error scores (R2 = 0.5695, RMSE = 29.7605, MAE = 27.5102). Key features from ARM (symptoms, age, and underlying diseases) were selected to build an ARIMAX (1, 1, 1) model, which yielded better performance in predicting the number of admitted cases (R2 = 0.5695, RMSE = 27.7508, MAE = 23.4642). The association analysis revealed that hospital stays of more than 14 days were related to the healthcare worker patients and the patients presented with underlying diseases. The worsening cases that required referral to the hospital ward were associated with the patients admitted with symptoms, pregnancy, metabolic syndrome, and age greater than 65 years old. CONCLUSIONS This study demonstrated that the ARIMAX model has the potential to predict the number of COVID-19 cases by incorporating the most associated prognostic factors identified by ARM technique to the ARIMA model, which could be used for preparation and optimal management of hospital resources during pandemics.

Abstract
World Health Organization has defined COVID-19 as a contagious, communicable and fast spreading disease engendered by the Corona virus, SARS-CoV-2, is a respirational microorganism. Computerized Tomography (CT) scan images of the chest helps in detecting COVID 19 infection in a fast way with much reliability. In this paper, chest CT scan images of COVID and Non-COVID categories are considered to train the supervised classifier, Iterative convolution Neural Network. The training process is done with six different training data size. The trained models are iterated for the fixed size of testing data (20 images). The same set of training and testing processes are done with two different Iterative Convolutional Neural Network architectures, one with two hidden layers (CNN1) and another with three hidden layers (CNN2). The iterations are extended up to 7, but the model performance is degraded after the 6th iteration, which makes to fix the iteration level as 5 for both CNN models. Six different training sets with five iterations have led into 30 CNN models. For two different CNN architectures, which lead to 60 different models. The model designed with 100 training sets in both CNN1 and CNN2, have produced the high accuracy in COVID classification than any other models. The better classification accuracy 89% is achieved from CNN2 model with its 5th iteration.

Abstract
The near real-time detection of airborne particles-of-interest is needed for avoiding current/future threats. The incorporation of imprinted particles into a micelle-based electrochemical cell produced a signal when brought into contact with particle analytes (such as SARS-COV-2), previously imprinted onto the structure. Nanoamp scales of signals were generated from what may've been individual virus-micelle interactions. The system showed selectivity when tested against similar size and morphology particles. The technology was compatible with airborne aerosol sampling techniques. Overall, the application of imprinted micelle technology could provide near real-time detection methods to a host of possible analytes of interest in the field. Abstract
INTRODUCTION End-of-life care is one of the most crucial experiences for both the patient and their loved ones. However, as a result of the changes generated by the COVID 19 pandemic, the dynamics of the end-of-life process has undergone changes at both the family, social and health levels. In turn, this has altered the perception and development of the grief of relatives of patients who died during the pandemic regardless of the cause of death. Then, the aim of this study is to analyze the perceptions and some aspects of bereavement of died patients` relatives during the pandemic of Covid 19. METHODS Through the admission evaluation and follow-up of the relatives with an adapted version of the international Care Of the Dying Evaluation (iCODE) questionnaire. RESULTS 239 relatives were surveyed, of which 112 completed the follow-up questionnaire. Most of the patients died at home and their family members were highly involved in their care. Medical attention was considered adequate and the symptom with the highest perception was pain. 87% of those surveyed participated in funeral rites, and 42% rated them as very sober. Regarding grief, the scale of personal growth predominates, however, in the negative aspects, the feeling of pressure in the chest and frequent crying predominates. CONCLUSIONS The end of life of home-care patients during the pandemic was perceived as adequate, allowing family support and symptom control. The grieving process shows no complications. The training of health professionals in these fundamental aspects of patient care is important.

Abstract
Background Since 2019, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has resulted in >554M cases and >6.3M deaths worldwide. The disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, has resulted in a broad range of clinical symptoms differing in severity. Initially, the elderly were identified as particularly susceptible to severe COVID-19, with children experiencing less severe disease. However, as new variants arise, the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 infection is changing, and the disease severity in children is increasing. While environmental impacts on COVID-19 have been described, the underlying mechanisms are poorly described. Objective The Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health (PBC) held meeting on September 16, 2021, to explore environmental impacts on infectious diseases, including COVID-19. Methods The PBC is an international group of environmental scientists and those interested in health outcomes. The PBC met to present preliminary data and discuss the role of exposures to airborne pollutants in enhancing susceptibility to and severity of respiratory tract viral infections, including COVID-19. Findings Analysis of the literature and data presented identified age as an important factor in vulnerability to air pollution and enhanced COVID-19 susceptibility and severity. Mechanisms involved in increasing severity of COVID-19 were discussed, and gaps in knowledge were identified. Conclusions Exposure to particulate matter (PM) pollution enhanced morbidity and mortality to COVID-19 in a pediatric population associated with induction of oxidative stress. In addition, free radicals present on PM can induce rapid changes in the viral genome that can lead to vaccine escape, altered host susceptibility, and viral pathogenicity. Nutritional antioxidant supplements have been shown to reduce the severity of viral infections, inhibit the inflammatory cytokine storm, and boost host immunity and may be of benefit in combating COVID-19.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Despite the implementation of various coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) prevention and control strategies, the rate of COVID-19 is alarmingly increasing in Ethiopia as well as worldwide. The success of COVID-19 prevention measures is highly influenced by a lack of knowledge and misconceptions. This study aimed to assess misconceptions about COVID-19 and associated factors among residents of Dilla Town, southern Ethiopia. METHODS A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from December 1 to 30, 2020. Data were collected from 415 individuals using structured interviewer-based questionnaires. Logistic regression analyses were used to identify the relationship between the dependent and independent variables. RESULTS The proportion of respondents who have a high misconception about COVID-19 was 41.1%. Study participants who had poor knowledge were 2.1 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.1-3.8) times more likely to have a misconception about COVID-19 than their counterparts. Respondents who had access to information from more than 2 sources were 3.29 (with 95% CI: 1.2-9.2) times less likely to have a misconception about COVID-19 when compared with those who had access to 2 or fewer information sources. CONCLUSIONS A significant proportion of people have misconceptions about COVID-19 in the study area. To resolve these misconceptions, health sectors and stakeholders need to improve the residents' knowledge by delivering COVID-19-related information from credible sources on a routine basis.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION An unprecedented disruption in medical education worldwide was caused due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Online teaching has become one of the primary forms of education. In this paper, we aimed to understand the faculty and students' perceptions about the teaching styles adopted by the faculty during online large group teaching from two universities in the United Arab Emirates. PATIENTS AND METHODS This is a cross-sectional opinion survey-based study. A pre-validated teaching style inventory in higher education (TSIHE) questionnaire was emailed to the students and faculty involved in large group online learning and teaching activities during the lock-down period of the COVID 19 pandemic from two different medical Universities in the United Arab Emirates. A total of 423 students and 57 faculty participated in the study. Descriptive and Inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. RESULTS There was a significant difference between the faculty and students on the perception of faculty online teaching styles. The difference was significant in teacher-student interaction and teacher structuring styles. In contrast, faculty and students' perceptions were comparable for decision-making negotiation and behavioral control teaching styles. CONCLUSION The study found that there was a significant perception differences between the faculty and students on the faculty teaching style during online large group teaching. Importantly, faculty perceived that they were more emotionally attached and more flexible in teacher-student interaction and teaching structuring during online teaching than the student perceived.

Abstract
BACKGROUND As the coronavirus disease 2019 infections are still ongoing, there is an increasing number of case reports and case series with various manifestations of life-threatening multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children . Our case aims to remind all providers to scrutinize for clinical manifestations, including neurological symptoms, which may mimic aseptic meningitis. CASE PRESENTATION A 5-year-old Albanian male child with obesity was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit due to persistent fever, headache, vomiting, abdominal pain, mucocutaneous manifestations, and fatigue. Initial laboratory results revealed high level of inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein of 156.8 mg/l, erythrocyte sedimentation rate of 100 mm/hour, procalcitonin of 13.84, leukocytosis with neutrophilia, and lymphopenia. Liver and renal functions, and capillary blood electrolytes (Na, K, Ca), were also altered. Cerebrospinal fluid was slightly turbid, with a white blood cell count of 128/mm3 (80% mononuclear cells and 20% polymorphonuclear), consistent with aseptic meningitis. The clinical presentation with prolonged fever, multiorgan dysfunction, and elevated inflammatory markers, with no plausible alternative diagnosis, matches the case definition of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children. Combining corticosteroid methylprednisolone with intravenous immunoglobulin was effective. CONCLUSIONS Apart from the most common presentation of multisystem organ dysfunction, neurological manifestations of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children such as aseptic meningitis, may be present as an immune response post-viral to coronavirus disease 2019. Given the rapid deterioration of children with multisystem inflammatory syndrome, early treatment with immunoglobulins and corticosteroids should be considered.
