Abstract
Pesticides can modulate gut microbiota composition, but their specific effects on it remain largely elusive. In our study, we show that pesticides inhibit or promote the growth of various gut microbial species and can be accumulated to prolong their presence in the host. Pesticide exposure also induces significant alterations in gut bacterial metabolism, as reflected by changes in hundreds of metabolites. We generate a pesticide-gut microbiota-metabolite network that not only reveals pesticide-sensitive gut bacteria species but also reports specific metabolic changes in 306 pesticide-gut microbiota pairs. Using an in vivo mouse model, we further demonstrate the interactions of a representative pesticide-gut microbiota pair and verify the inflammation-inducing effects of pesticide exposure on the host, mediated by microbially dysregulated lipid metabolism. Taken together, our findings generate a comprehensive atlas of pesticide-gut microbiota-metabolite interactions atlas and shed light on the molecular mechanisms by which pesticides affect host health via gut microbiota-modulated metabolism.

Abstract
Potato is a highly nutritious staple food however, it also contains some antinutrients like alkaloids, phytates, tannins, oxalates as well as pesticide residues. Therefore, this study was conducted to reduce the loads of antinutrients and pesticides in potato powder (PP) using thermal and non-thermal processing techniques. Nutritional analysis revealed that the raw PP contained significantly (p < 0.05) higher magnitudes of dietary proteins (10.2 %), fibers (6.3 %), Na (50 mg/100 g), Ca (62 mg/100 g) and K (988 mg/100 g) when compared with the processed PP. The results demonstrated that all thermal and non-thermal processing techniques significantly reduced the antinutrients and pesticide residues. However, microwave heat treatment anticipated the highest reduction in alkaloids, oxalates, tannins and phytates contents from 60 to 14 mg/100 g (76 % reduction), 31-6 mg/100 g (80 % reduction), 91-15 mg/100 g (84 % reduction) and 45-8 mg/100 g (82 % reduction), respectively. Additionally, microwave heat processing also exhibited the highest decline in imidacloprid, cypermethrin, bifenthrin, chlorpyrifos and deltamethrin contents by 87 %, 76 %, 63 %, 79 % and 81 %, respectively. Later, microwave-treated PP (the most effective treatment) was used to develop unleavened flatbreads (i.e., chapatis) @ 2-10 %. Organoleptic evaluation of supplemented flatbreads suggested that 5 % supplementation with microwave treated PP has the highest overall acceptability. Therefore, it is concluded that thermal and non-thermal processing techniques are effective tools to reduce loads of antinutrients and pesticide burden in potatoes. Moreover, the study also suggests, PP can be efficiently used as natural food supplement for development of value-added foods.

Abstract
Recently, more and more epidemiological studies have examined the impact of exposure to persistent organic pollutants (POPs) on depression, but the results are inconsistent. Thus, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to better understand the effects of POPs exposure on the risk of depression in the general population. We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus databases for studies before March 20, 2024. Random-effects meta-analysis was applied to calculate pooled relative risk (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). We also assessed potential heterogeneity and publication bias across studies and conducted sensitivity analysis. A total of 26 studies were included, and the results indicated that exposure to ΣPBDEs, PBDE-47, and PBDE-99 increased the risk of depression, with OR of 1.37 (95 % CI = 1.06-1.79), 1.30 (95% CI = 1.08-1.56), 1.46 (95 % CI = 1.00-2.12) respectively. On the contrary, the exposure assessment results of PFOS showed a negative correlation with the risk of depression. There is no association between exposure to ΣPFAS, ΣPCBs, and ΣOCPs and increased risk of depression. More standardized studies and more samples are needed in the future to confirm the findings of this study. This finding could provide theoretical references for the prevention and management of depression and offer insights for the risk assessment of POPs exposure.

Abstract
Current-use pesticides (CUPs), including insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides, are extensively employed in agriculture to manage pests, diseases, and weeds. Nonetheless, their widespread application raises significant concerns regarding potential impacts on human health, particularly with reproductive health. This study focuses on exploring the landscape of CUP exposure among pre-pregnancy women. Based on a cohort study comprising 354 pre-pregnancy women of reproductive age in Beijing, China, we measured the concentrations of 94 CUPs in serum and conducted an in-depth analysis of exposure profiles, health risks, and contributing factors. The results revealed that the serum of pre-pregnancy women was contaminated with CUPs, of which the median concentrations ranged from 0.114 (fenamiphos-sulfone) to 61.2 ng/L (mefenacet). Among the 94 CUPs, 54 exhibited detection rates higher than 50 %, including 26 insecticides, 14 fungicides, and 14 herbicides. The exposure concentration profile highlighted that the insecticides contributed 56 % to the total CUP concentration percentages, with organophosphate insecticides being the primary contributors within this category (63.0 %). The average daily intake (ADI) of CUPs ranged from 2.23 to 16,432.28 ng/kg, while diflubenzuron had the highest ADI. Health risk assessments showed that exposure to a combination of total insecticides or herbicides poses a moderate risk for 15.8 % and 30.2 % of women, with mefenacet being the most significant, which showed moderate hazard in 29.4 % of participants. The overlap analysis showed that methiocarb-sulfone, diflubenzuron, and mefenacet were the dominant pesticides. In addition, maternal age, annual income level, smoking, and vitamin B12 supplementation were associated with serum CUP concentrations. Our study contributes a novel and comprehensive exposure profile of CUPs in pre-pregnancy women in northern China, providing valuable insights for evaluating the potential consequences of pre-pregnancy exposure on reproductive health. SYNOPSIS: We provided a comprehensive exposure landscape, health effects, and influential factors of 94 current-use pesticides among pre-pregnancy women in China.

Abstract
Background Ethylene oxide (EO) is a volatile compound positively correlated with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Currently, evidence suggests that environmental exposure may contribute to depressive symptoms. This study evaluated the correlation between EO exposure and depressive symptoms and investigated whether inflammatory indicators had a mediation effect on this correlation. Methods Patients were enrolled from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey during 2013-2016, and 2,764 (49.67% male and 50.33% female) participants were ultimately included. EO exposure was determined by measuring hemoglobin-EO adduct (Hb-EO) concentration due to its long half-life, which was log2-transformed. Depressive symptoms were assessed using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to identify any correlations before and after covariate adjustment. Sensitivity analysis, subgroup analyses, and interaction tests were performed to further evaluate identified correlations. Mediation analysis was conducted to reveal whether specific inflammatory indicators mediated the correlation. Results A high prevalence of depressive symptoms was observed in quartiles with increased levels of EO exposure, and male individuals exhibiting higher Hb-EO levels than female individuals. A positive correlation was observed between EO exposure and depressive symptoms (odds ratio [OR]: 1.439, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.310, 1.581), which remained stable even after covariate adjustment (OR: 1.332, 95% CI: 1.148, 1.545). Interaction tests showed significant effects of sex (p < 0.001) and thyroid diseases (p = 0.048) on this correlation. In the mediation analysis, white blood cell (p = 0.010) and neutrophil counts (p = 0.010) exerted a mediating effect, accounting for 13.6 and 11.9%, respectively. Conclusion Increased exposure to EO is associated with an elevated risk of depressive symptoms, where white blood cell and neutrophil counts exert a significant mediating effect. Further prospective studies are required to investigate the potential link among EO, other environmental pollutants, and human mental health.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The cholinergic system has been increasingly linked to the pathophysiology of mood disorders such as depression, with the potential involvement of nicotinic and/or muscarinic receptors. Conventional antidepressants usually require weeks of daily dosing to achieve a full antidepressant response. In contrast, clinical studies have shown that scopolamine, a nonselective muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist, can induce potent and rapid antidepressant effects, requiring only a few days of treatment. This study aimed to examine the suitability of the unpredictable chronic mild stress (UCMS) model of depression to reproduce the above scopolamine antidepressant activity patterns. METHODS Rapid and sustained antidepressant-like effects were assessed by using the splash test, sucrose preference test (SPT), tail suspension test (TST), and forced swimming test (FST) in animals undergoing the UCMS procedure and stress-naïve C57BL/6J mice. Western Blotting was used to measure tropomyosin receptor kinase B (TrkB), mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), eukaryotic elongation factor (eEF2) and postsynaptic density protein 95 (PSD95) levels. RESULTS Scopolamine induced antidepressant-like effects in a dose-dependent manner only after subchronic, but not single, administration in the UCMS model of depression in C57BL/6J mice without affecting locomotor activity. Specifically, scopolamine administered at a dose of 0.3 mg/kg for four consecutive days significantly reversed the UCMS-induced depressive-like behavior, such as apathy, anhedonia, and behavioral despair, while scopolamine, given at the same dose but only once, did not relieve the above symptoms. Scopolamine treatment was accompanied by eEF2 protein dephosphorylation and its subsequent reactivation in the prefrontal cortex (PFC). CONCLUSION Subchronic administration of scopolamine is needed to ameliorate UCMS-induced depressive-like behavior. The suggested mechanism of scopolamine action covers eEF2 protein activity in the PFC.

Abstract
Depression affects several aspects of life, including socioeconomic status, relationships, behavior, emotions, and overall health. The etiology of depression is complex and influenced by various factors, with obesity emerging as a significant contributor. This narrative review aims to investigate the factors associated with the development of depression, with a particular focus on the role of obesity. The literature search was conducted on PubMed, Embase, and PsycINFO from May to July 2024. The review highlights the impact of environmental and socioeconomic conditions; lifestyle choices, including physical activity and dietary habits; stress; traumatic experiences; neurotransmitter imbalances; medical and psychological conditions; hormone fluctuations; and epigenetic factors on depression. A key emphasis is placed on the inflammatory processes linked to obesity, which may drive the bidirectional relationship between obesity and depression. The findings suggest that obesity is associated with an increased risk of depression, potentially due to chronic inflammation, neurochemical dysregulation, and the emotional and social challenges related to weight stigma and obesity management. Understanding these interconnected factors is important for developing targeted interventions to address both obesity and depression, leading to improved quality of life for those affected.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous studies have shown that women farmers are particularly vulnerable to mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. AIMS This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of anxiety and depression in women farmers from Ecuador Coastal and Highlands regions. METHOD General Anxiety Disorder‑7 (GAD‑7) and Patient Health Questionnaire‑9 (PHQ‑9) were applied. In addition, self-reported number of children, days off, hours of work, pesticide use, sleep habits and years of work in agriculture, were also collected. This cross-sectional study occurred during 2023 with 443 women, for Coastal (197) and Highlands (246), respectively. Multivariable binary logistic regression models were performed to obtained adjusted odds ratios (aOR) and their 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). RESULTS 34.5% of Coastal women had depression, while 27.2% of Highlands women had depression. 20.3% of coastal women farmers had anxiety, while in the Highlands 24.8% had anxiety. Coastal mestizo and montubio women exhibited lower probability of depression, but this was not significant in the Highlands. Coastal women farmers that did not have children showed lower odds of depression (aOR 0.05, 95% CI [0.01, 0.34]). A lower likelihood of depression was observed in coastal women that worked more than 8 hours (aOR 0.22, 95% CI [0.07, 0.72]). Women from the Highlands that had shortened sleep duration exhibited lower odds of depression and anxiety. CONCLUSIONS A higher proportion of depressed women farmers was observed in the Coast region and slightly higher numbers of anxiety cases in the Highlands. The number of children may cause workload and is correlated with depression in Coastal women.

Abstract
Emerging contaminants (ECs) are widely sourced persistent pollutants that pose a significant threat to the environment and human health. Their footprint spans global ecosystems, making their remediation highly challenging. In recent years, a significant amount of literature has focused on the use of biochar for remediation of heavy metals and organic pollutants in soil and water environments. However, the use of biochar for the remediation of ECs in agricultural soils has not received as much attention, and as a result, there are limited reviews available on this topic. Thus, this review aims to provide an overview of the primary types, sources, and hazards of ECs in farmland, as well as the structure, functions, and preparation types of biochar. Furthermore, this paper emphasizes the importance and prospects of three remediation strategies for ECs in cropland: (i) employing activated, modified, and composite biochar for remediation, which exhibit superior pollutant removal compared to pure biochar; (ii) exploring the potential synergistic efficiency between biochar and compost, enhancing their effectiveness in soil improvement and pollution remediation; (iii) utilizing biochar as a shelter and nutrient source for microorganisms in biochar-mediated microbial remediation, positively impacting soil properties and microbial community structure. Given the increasing global prevalence of ECs, the remediation strategies provided in this paper aim to serve as a valuable reference for future remediation of ECs-contaminated agricultural lands.

Abstract
Natural pyrethrins (NPs), one kind of bio-pesticide, have been widely used in organic agriculture and ecological environment studies. Studies have shown that NPs may affect the metabolism of rat liver and human hepatocytes; nevertheless, the toxic effects of NPs on the liver and the related mechanisms are still incompletely understood. In this research, we utilized three types of human liver cells to investigate the mechanism of NPs' induction of oxidative stress. The results showed that NPs exhibit noteworthy cytotoxic effects on human liver cells. These effects are characterized by the induction of LDH release, mitochondrial collapse, and an increased production of ROS and MDA content, subsequently activating the Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1/Nuclear factor erythroid 2- related factor 2 (Keap1/Nrf-2) pathway. The ROS inhibitor N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) can alleviate ROS/Nrf2-mediated oxidative stress. In addition, the siRNA knockdown of Nrf-2 exacerbated the injury, including ROS production, and inhibited cell viability. In summary, the ROS-mediated Keap1/Nrf-2 pathway could be an important regulator of NP-induced damage in human liver cells, which further illustrates the hepatotoxicity of NPs and thereby contributes to the scientific basis for further exploration.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM To date, few studies have focused on the health effects of pesticide exposure among avocado farmworkers. We examined the association of exposure to insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides with cognitive and mental health outcomes among these avocado workers from Michoacan, Mexico. MATERIALS AND METHODS We conducted a cross-sectional study of 105 avocado farmworkers between May and August 2021. We collected data on self-reported pesticide use during the 12 months prior to the baseline survey and estimated annual exposure-intensity scores (EIS) using a semi-quantitative exposure algorithm. We calculated specific gravity adjusted average concentrations of 12 insecticide, fungicide, or herbicide metabolites measured in urine samples collected during two study visits (8-10 weeks apart). We assessed participants' cognitive function and psychological distress using the NIH Toolbox Cognition Battery and the Brief Symptom Inventory 18 (BSI-18), respectively. We examined individual associations of EIS and urinary pesticide metabolites with neurobehavioral outcomes using generalized linear regression models. We also implemented Bayesian Weighted Quantile Sum (BWQS) regression to evaluate the association between a pesticide metabolite mixture and neurobehavioral outcomes. RESULTS In individual models, after adjusting for multiple comparisons, higher concentrations of hydroxy-tebuconazole (OH-TEB, metabolite of fungicide tebuconazole) were associated with higher anxiety (IRR per two-fold increase in concentrations = 1.26, 95% CI:1.08, 1.48) and Global Severity Index (GSI) (IRR = 1.89, 95% CI:1.36, 2.75) scores, whereas higher concentrations of 3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinol (TCPy, metabolite of chlorpyrifos) were associated with lower GSI scores (IRR = 0.69, 95% CI: 0.56, 0.85). In BWQS analyses, we found evidence of a mixture association of urinary pesticide metabolites with higher anxiety (IRR = 1.72, 95% CrI: 1.12, 2.55), depression (IRR = 4.60, 95% CrI: 2.19, 9.43), and GSI (IRR = 1.99, 95% CrI: 1.39, 2.79) scores. OH-TEB and hydroxy-thiabendazole (metabolite of fungicide thiabendazole) combined contributed 54%, 40%, and 54% to the mixture effect in the anxiety symptoms, depression symptoms, and overall psychological distress models, respectively. CONCLUSIONS We found that exposure to tebuconazole and thiabendazole, fungicides whose effects have been rarely studied in humans, may be associated with increased psychological distress among avocado farmworkers. We also observed that exposure to chlorpyrifos may be associated with decreased psychological distress.

Abstract
Chemical-based peticides are having negative impacts on both the healths of human beings and plants as well. The World Health Organisation (WHO), reported that each year, >25 million individuals in poor nations are having acute pesticide poisoning cases along with 20,000 fatal injuries at global level. Normally, only ∼0.1% of the pesticide reaches to the intended targets, and rest amount is expected to come into the food chain/environment for a longer period of time. Therefore, it is crucial to reduce the amounts of pesticides present in the soil. Physical or chemical treatments are either expensive or incapable to do so. Hence, pesticide detoxification can be achieved through bioremediation/biotechnologies, including nano-based methodologies, integrated approaches etc. These are relatively affordable, efficient and environmentally sound methods. Therefore, alternate strategies like as advanced biotechnological tools like as CRISPR Cas system, RNAi and genetic engineering for development of insects and pest resistant plants which are directly involved in the development of disease- and pest-resistant plants and indirectly reduce the use of pesticides. Omics tools and multi omics approaches like metagenomics, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics for the efficient functional gene mining and their validation for bioremediation of pesticides also discussed from the literatures. Overall, the review focuses on the most recent advancements in bioremediation methods to lessen the effects of pesticides along with the role of microorganisms in pesticides elimination. Further, pesticide detection is also a big challenge which can be done by using HPLC, GC, SERS, and LSPR ELISA etc. which have also been described in this review.

Abstract
The widespread application of pesticides in Morocco's agriculture renders their monitoring in food and environmental samples very necessary. Recent years have witnessed a growing interest in reporting studies related to the monitoring of pesticide residues in food, water, groundwater, and soil as well as their quantitative health risk assessment. Most published studies have been done by university researchers. However, the lack of research reproducibility remains a problem that considerably limits the possibility of exploiting data from the literature. Our study involves an extensive literature review utilizing search engines with keywords like "pesticide residues," "monitoring," "vegetables and fruits," "water and soil," "risk assessment," and "Morocco" from 2009 to 2023. Analysis of pesticide residues in foodstuffs and environmental samples highlights concerns over compliance with EU regulations, the health risks associated with pesticide exposure, and the necessity for comprehensive monitoring and risk assessment strategies. This paper could help influence policies to develop a strategy and action plan for the sound management of pesticides, including measures to reduce their use, raise awareness, and monitor compliance. Also, this paper could be useful for scientists interested in understanding the current situation and challenges regarding pesticide residues in Morocco, as well as countries with which commercial links exist.

Abstract
Fe3O4@nitrogen-doped carbon core-double shell nanotubes (Fe3O4@N-C C-DSNTs) were successfully synthesized and applied as a novel nanosorbent in ultrasonic assisted dispersive magnetic solid phase extraction (UA-DMSPE) of tribenuron-methyl, fenpyroximate, and iprodione. Subsequently, corona discharge ion mobility spectrometry (CD-IMS) was employed for the detection of the extracted analytes. Effective parameters on the extraction recovery percentage (ER%) were systematically investigated and optimized. Under optimal conditions, UA-DMSPE-CD-IMS demonstrated remarkable linearity in different ranges within 1.0 - 700 ng mL-1 with correlation coefficients exceeding 0.993, repeatability values below 6.9%, limits of detection ranging from 0.30 to 0.90 ng mL-1, high preconcentration factors (418 - 435), and ER% values (83 - 87%). The potential of the proposed method was further demonstrated by effectively determining the targeted pesticides in various environmental soil and water samples, exhibiting relative recoveries in the range 92.1 - 102%.

Abstract
Evidence suggests that farm workers represent a high-risk population for the development of depression. The aim of the study was to clarify the association between pesticide exposure/poisoning and depression. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis were conducted in this systematic review and meta-analysis. Relevant studies were included through searching in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, ProQuest, CINAHL and pre-print services databases. A total of eight studies were included. A positive but non-significant association was observed between pesticide use and depression (OR = 1.123; 95% CI, 0.932-1.354, p-value = .221) while a significant positive association was observed between pesticide poisoning and depression (OR = 2.942; 95% CI, 1.791-4.831, p-value < .001). The present meta-analysis suggested clearly a significant positive association between pesticide poisoning and depression, confirming the hypothesis that pesticide poisoning is a risk factor of depression. It also revealed positive, yet non-significant association, between pesticide exposure and depression, a finding that enhances recent research but requires to be further supported by future cohort studies, including socioeconomic factors and biomarkers of depression.

Abstract
In this work, we monitored 432 pesticide residues in 39 tomato samples (cherry tomato) obtained from local markets in Souss Massa region-Morocco. We used a QuEChERS combined with LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS, and the method was validated based on SANTE 11312/2021 guideline. The limits of quantification (LOQ) obtained for most of the pesticides analyzed are at the limit with default EU MRLs or well below other EU MRLs. Recoveries (between 70 and 120%) and RSDs (≤20%) are satisfactory for more than 95% of the analytes at spiking level of 0.01 mg/kg and more than 97% at 0.1 mg/kg. The results indicated that 22 out of 39 tomato samples are positives and the most of our samples had levels lower than the maximum residue levels (MRLs) with average concentrations between 0.011 and 0.156 mg/kg. The most found pesticides were azoxystrobin and difenoconazole in tomato (7 samples). Only buprofezin (0.095 mg/kg) was found above the EU MRLs (0.01 mg/kg). Also, banned pesticides namely benalaxyl, spirodiclofen and imidacloprid have been detected. The results of our study confirm the previous findings and gives insights on the occurrence of different pesticides in tomato samples from Souss Massa region-Morocco.

Abstract
There is a scarcity of evidence on the levels of pesticide residues among common crops grown in the different regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The present study aims to fill this gap. We collected samples across four regions of KSA (N = 41 from the west, N = 146 from the central, N = 131 from the north and N = 74 samples from the east). Food samples were extracted and cleaned using the modified quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe (QuEChERS) methodology. Tandem mass (LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS) was used to detect pesticide residues. The highest pesticide residue detection rate was 89.7% in the central region, followed by 88.5% in the north, 83.8% in the east and 70.7% in the western region (p = 0.01). Pesticide residue detection rates were significantly higher in fruits than vegetables (p = 0.02). Cypermethrin detection was most common overall, particularly in the Western region (p = 0.002), and pyraclostrobin concentration was the highest among all residues investigated. In conclusion, high detection rates of moderately hazardous pesticide residues were found in various crops across regions in KSA. Routine biomonitoring programs across KSA regions should be implemented, as well as public health campaigns to decrease pesticide residue consumption and exposure.

Abstract
Background Although depression is a major issue among farming population, to date, there have been few studies on specific agricultural activities. We aimed to investigate whether, among the entire French farm manager (FM) workforce, certain agricultural activities are more strongly associated with depression than others. Methods This nationwide retrospective cohort study used data from an administrative health database available to the TRACTOR project. This database pertains to the entire French agricultural workforce (overseas workers not included). Data were analyzed from January 2021 to December 2022. All FMs that worked at least once over the period 2002-2016 were included. The outcome measure was the association between 26 agricultural activities and the risk of depression measured as hazard ratios (HRs) after adjusting for age, sex, and pre-existing medical comorbidities. The time to first depression insurance declaration, or first antidepressant prescription claim was used as the underlying timescale. For each activity, the reference/control group included all FMs that never performed the considered activity between 2002 and 2016, while the exposed group included FMs that performed the considered activity at least once from 2002 to 2016. Four sensitivity analyses were conducted to test hypotheses, and to address potential sources of bias. Findings There were 84,507 (7.76%; 28.2 cases per 1000 person-years) depression cases among 1,088,561 FMs (mean age 46.6 [SD 14.1]). Compared to other activities, dairy farming (HR = 1.37, 95% confidence interval: 1.32-1.42), cow farming (HR = 1.53 [1.47-1.59]), poultry and rabbit farming (HR = 1.37 [1.27-1.50]), and mixed farming (HR = 1.30 [1.24-1.36]) were more strongly associated with depression. Sex differences were observed, with most of the time, risks higher for females than for males. Interpretation Agricultural activities at risk of depression among the entire French agricultural workforce were identified. These findings do represent a crucial first step on the road to implement effective preventive measures against depression to determine where additional resources should be allocated to screen for depression, along with intervention.
