Abstract
INTRODUCTION To assess effects of a nutritional education program on improving mothers' undernutrition knowledge, self-efficacy, and complementary feeding practices, and reducing undernutrition in children aged <2 years. METHOD A randomized controlled trial was conducted at a community healthcare center in Indonesia. The intervention group participated in a 4-week nutritional education program; the control group received standard care (n = 80; 1:1 ratio). Measurements consisted of mothers' knowledge of undernutrition, self-efficacy, and complementary feeding practices, and children's anthropometric indicators. RESULTS Intervention group mothers improved their understanding of undernutrition, self-efficacy, and complementary feeding practices compared to the control group. Additionally, children in the intervention group exhibited increased mean Z-scores for stunting, wasting, and being underweight at 12 and 24 weeks following the intervention. DISCUSSION Healthcare professionals can regularly provide nutritional education programs related to managing undernutrition and complementary feeding practices for mothers with children aged <2 years to prevent and improve undernutrition.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to summarize the evidence from studies conducted on adolescents, evaluating educational nutrition interventions for the modification of food consumption through controlled trials based on behavior change theories or models and implemented in school settings. A systematic search was carried out through PubMed and ERIC databases between November and December 2020, and updated in February 2023; English-language keywords were used, and no publication date limits were applied. Two authors independently performed the search, data extraction, data synthesis and risk of bias assessment. Twelve studies meeting the inclusion criteria were included. The interventions were based on different theories; the most used was the Social Cognitive Theory. Eleven of the twelve studies showed favorable modifications in the consumption of at least two of the food groups. Most studies were at low risk of bias, and only one was classified as high risk. It is concluded that educational nutrition interventions based on behavior change theories/models and implemented in the school setting influence positive changes in adolescents eating behavior.

Abstract
Purpose Emerging lifestyle changes due to rapid urbanization have led to an epidemiological transition and the rising prevalence of obesity is responsible for major non-communicable diseases (NCDs) which have further aggravated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a comprehensive school-based intervention on diet and physical activity-related behavior of adolescents. Methods In 2019, a cluster-randomized controlled trial was conducted in randomly selected (n = 8) private schools. A 2-year intervention program was implemented over consecutive academic years (2019-2020 and 2020-2021) with students who were in the 6th and 7th grades when the study began. Four schools were randomly assigned to the intervention (n = 794) and four schools to the control group (n = 774). Results The difference in changes in diet and physical-activity-related behaviors of the students between the intervention and control schools were not significant in the intention to treat analysis probably due to the large drop-out due to COVID-19 measures: 304 students were available for follow-up in the intervention group and 122 in the control group (391 cases were excluded to make data comparable with baseline survey). The intake of vegetables (once a day) [β = 0.35, OR = 1.42, 95% CI (1.03, 1.95)] in the per-protocol analysis has increased among adolescents in the intervention group as compared to the control group. Conclusion The findings of this study indicated a positive effect of the intervention on diet and physical-activity-related changes in the expected direction and highlights the importance of addressing such behavior to prevent obesity among adolescents and thus NCDs in the later stage of life.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES This study explores the parental characteristics that affect the eating behaviors of preschool children. The nutrition quotient for preschool children (NQ-P) tool was applied to measure the eating behaviors of preschool children, and the relationship between parents' health beliefs and children's eating behaviors was investigated by applying the health belief model. MATERIALS/METHODS In August 2018, a self-administered online survey was conducted on a sample of parents of children aged 3 to 5 years living in the Seoul and Gyeonggi area. A total of 248 respondents were analyzed via descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Tukey's multiple comparison test, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. RESULTS The eating behaviors of preschool children significantly differed based on parents' education level and monthly income (P < 0.01). Among the factors of the health belief model, "perceived benefit" had the highest score at 4.37 points. The multiple regression analysis confirmed that parents' "self-efficacy" raised the NQ-P scores (β = 0.175, P < 0.05), balance scores (β = 0.204, P < 0.01), and environment scores of preschool children (β = 0.149, P < 0.05). The study results showed that if parents are educated on healthy eating habits and their level of self-efficacy for healthy eating practices increases, the formation of correct eating behaviors for preschool children is more likely. CONCLUSION This study provides preliminary data to develop an education program for parents to understand proper eating behaviors for their children and may help form healthy eating habits and encourage the healthy growth of preschool children.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Due to the role of education in improving anxiety and essential skills of mothers for caring for their infants, this study aimed to investigate the effect of education based on the health belief model (HBM) on anxiety among mothers of infants with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). MATERIALS AND METHODS This randomized controlled clinical trial was performed on 67 mothers with premature infants admitted to the ROP unit of Khatam Al Anbia Eye Hospital in Mashhad, Iran from 2019 to 2020. Participants were randomly allocated to intervention and control groups. Intervention was designed based on HBM during six sessions, each of 45-60 minutes duration. The control group received routine educations according to the hospital policies. The maternal anxiety, adherence with follow-up examinations and the rate of neonatal retinal vascularization were evaluated using an HBM- based questionnaire and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory questionnaire and checklists, respectively. Data was analyzed by using SPSS software, version 16, using Chi-squared test, Fisher's exact test, independent t test, and Mann-Whitney U test. RESULTS Based on our findings, no significant difference was observed between the two groups before the intervention regarding the mean score of maternal anxiety (P = 0.141). However, after intervention, the mean score of maternal anxiety decreased significantly from 67.0 ± 6.3 to 38.5 ± 6.6 in the intervention group and increased from 69.8 ± 3.1 to 68.3 ± 3.4 in the control group (P < 0.001). In the intervention group, the mean scores of model constructs (perceived susceptibility and severity, perceived benefits, barriers, self-efficacy and cue to action) increased significantly after intervention (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Education based on HBM appear to be an efficient method to improve maternal anxiety among mothers of infants with retinopathy of prematurity. Accordingly, nurses and treatment staff can provide interventions in the NICU based on the HBM to the parents of hospitalized and premature infants.

Improving Obesogenic Dietary Behaviors among Adolescents: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials. Nutrients 2022; 14:nu14214592. Abstract
The overweight and obesity epidemic persists, and over 340 million children and adolescents aged 5–19 were classified as overweight or obese worldwide in 2020. Obesity intervention becomes crucial during the adolescent years due to the increased autonomy and adolescent motivation to oversee one’s own behaviors and lifestyle-related decisions. The objective of the current study was to conduct a systematic review of randomized controlled trials aimed at improving dietary intake and behaviors among adolescents. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines were utilized. The key terms used in the searches referred to the study population and the topic of interest and included words and phrases such as “obesity or overweight and adolescents”, “dietary behaviors and adolescents”, “dietary intake and adolescents”, and “dietary habits and adolescents.” A tertiary screening process was employed, and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Quality Assessment of Controlled Intervention Studies quality scoring tool was utilized to assess the quality of research articles independently by n = 2 researchers. A total of 7441 articles were identified through the database search, and 36 were included in the current systematic review. The most common outcomes explored included dietary behaviors, anthropometric or biometric outcomes, and physical activity. Approximately half of the studies demonstrated significant improvements in the primary outcomes investigated. The majority of the high-impact studies where significant improvements in primary outcomes were demonstrated were conducted in school settings or were multicomponent or multilevel in nature. Thus, interventions targeting dietary behaviors in adolescents that are delivered in the school setting and are multicomponent or multilevel in nature are the most effective in terms of impact on dietary intake, anthropometric or biometric outcomes, and physical activity.

Abstract
Healthy diets promote immune functions and have been shown to reduce COVID-19 severity. In 2021, COVID-19 vaccines have become available to the general public. However, whether vaccination status could affect individual and populational health behaviors is unknown. This study aimed to investigate the impacts of vaccination status and confidence on dietary practices. An online survey was conducted in August 2021. We collected data on dietary intake, diversity and behaviors, vaccination status and confidence and socio-demographic characteristics. Among the 5107 responses received, a total of 4873 study participants were included in the final analysis. Most of our participants aged between 18 and 45 years and 82% of them were fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Household level dietary diversity was found to be higher among people who were fully vaccinated (β = 0.321, 95%CI: 0.024 to 0.618) or who were more confident in the protectiveness of the vaccine (β for tertile 3 comparing with lowest tertile = 0.544, 95%CI: 0.407, 0.682). Vaccination promoted the intake of seafood, but it was also positively associated with the consumption of sugar, preserved, fried and barbequed foods and reduced vegetable intake. Higher vaccination confidence was associated with increased consumption of seafood, bean, fruits and vegetables and reduced fat intake. Changes in dietary behaviors compared with early 2021 (when vaccination was not common) were observed and differed by vaccination status and confidence level. Conclusion: COVID-19 vaccination status and confidence had varied, and possibly negative, impacts on dietary intake and behaviors. Our results suggest that vaccination status and confidence might be significant influencing factors affecting people’s health behaviors and highlight that healthy eating should be consistently promoted to prevent poor dietary practices during global health crisis.

Abstract
Objective Lifestyle preferences are inculcated in childhood and once established, persist into adulthood. The Project PROMoting Health LIteracy in School (i-PROMISe) aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among students for the universal prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes. Study design Qualitative study using focus-group-discussions (FGDs) and In-Depth Interviews (IDI). Method Project was undertaken in two-phases in two private schools in New Delhi, India. In phase-one, FGDs with students (grades IV to VIII) and IDIs with teachers were conducted to ascertain their perceptions of diabetes prevention and management according to the Health Belief Model. The data was analyzed using a thematic framework method. In phase-two, the resources were pre-tested and participants’ feedback was requested on the duration, quality, and understanding of the resources. Results In total, 89 students and 17 teachers participated in phase-one (n = 54 [in FGDs] and n = 5 [in IDIs]) and phase-two (n = 35 students and n = 12 teachers in FGDs). In phase-one, themes that emerged included: diabetes was considered a disease of the elderly; misconceptions about susceptibility to these diseases were common; children were largely aware of measures to prevent these diseases, but barriers to adopting a healthy lifestyle existed. Based on the findings, a comprehensive module was developed, which consisted of a teacher's manual with interactive activities and short films. The resources (teacher's manual and short films) were well received and contributed to a better understanding of diabetes and other NCDs; myths/misconceptions were clarified. Conclusion Development of resources using participatory approach can be effective in promoting and reinforcing healthy behaviours among school going children to prevent and control NCDs in schools.

Abstract
Nutrition interventions developed using behaviour theory may be more effective than those without theoretical underpinnings. This study aimed to document the number of theory-based healthy eating interventions, the involvement of dietitians/nutritionists and the behaviour theories employed from 2000 to 2020. We conducted a review of publications related to healthy eating interventions that used behaviour change theories. Interventional studies published in English between 2000 and 2020 were retrieved from searching Medline, Cinahl, Embase, Psycinfo and Cochrane Central. Citation, country of origin, presence or absence of dietitian/nutritionist authors, participants, dietary behaviours, outcomes, theories and any behaviour change techniques (BCTs) stated were extracted. The publication trends on a yearly basis were recorded. A total of 266 articles were included. The number of theory-based interventions increased over the two decades. The number of studies conducted by dietitians/nutritionists increased, but since 2012, increases have been driven by other researchers. Social cognitive theory was the most used behaviour theory. Dietitians/nutritionists contributed to growth in publication of theory-based healthy eating interventions, but the proportion of researchers from other professions engaged in this field increased markedly. The reasons for this growth in publications from other professions is unknown but conjectured to result from greater prominence of dietary behaviours within the context of an obesity epidemic.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Polycystic ovary syndrome is the most common endocrine disorder among adolescents and adults. Given the importance of healthy nutritional behaviors in management of this disease, the present study was conducted to determine the impact of an educational intervention program based on the theory of planned behavior on the nutritional behaviors of adolescents and young adults with polycystic ovary syndrome. METHODS In this field trial study, 72 participants aged between 15 and 21 years old from four gynecology clinics in Shiraz, Iran, were assigned into the intervention and control groups. Educational intervention program was implemented based on the theory of planned behavior over 4 sessions during two weeks. The data collection tools were researcher-made questionnaires of demographic information, knowledge assessment, and assessment of theory of planned behavior constructs, as well as a questionnaire for assessing consumption of food groups, fast food, and snacks. The data were collected at two stages (once at baseline and once three months after the intervention), and then the changes in knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, the perceived behavioral control, behavioral intention, and nutritional behavior were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods (t-test, Chi-square, Mann- Whitney U, and Wilcoxon tests; as well as one- way ANOVA, repeated measures ANOVA, and ANCOVA, respectively). RESULTS Statistically significant increases were observed in the mean scores of knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, the perceived behavioral control, behavioral intention, and nutritional behavior in the intervention group by passing three months from the intervention compared to the scores before the intervention (P < 0.001). However, these differences were not statistically significant in the control group (P > 0.05). Moreover, the mean scores of knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, behavioral intention, and nutritional behavior had no statistically significant difference before the intervention between the two groups; however, this was statistically significant by passing three months from the intervention (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION Considering the effect of an educational intervention program based on the theory of planned behavior on creating healthy nutritional behaviors in adolescents and young adults with polycystic ovary syndrome, it is recommended to use it in order to improve the nutritional health of them. Impact of a behaviourally focused nutrition education intervention on attitudes and practices related to eating habits and activity levels in Indian adolescents. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effectiveness of a behaviourally focused nutrition education (NE) intervention based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) to improve knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) related to eating habits and activity levels in 10–12-year-old adolescents in Mumbai, India. DESIGN School-based cluster randomised controlled trial. The experimental group (EG) received weekly NE and three parent sessions over 12 weeks; no sessions were conducted for the control group (CG). The theoretical framework of HBM and focus group discussion results guided the development of behaviour change communication strategies and NE aids. KAP were measured using a validated survey instrument, administered at baseline and endline in EG and CG. Paired and independent t tests determined within-group and between-group changes in pre–post scores. SETTING Two aided and two private schools that were randomly allocated to either an EG or CG. PARTICIPANTS Adolescent boys and girls (n 498; EG n 292 and CG n 206). RESULTS EG reported improvements in mean knowledge (39·3%), attitude (7·3 %), diet (9·6 %) and activity practice (9·4%) scores from pre to post intervention. No significant changes were observed in CG. Significant improvements in scores associated with perceived benefits, barriers and self-efficacy, breakfast and vegetable consumption, and moderate-to-vigorous activities were observed in EG. CONCLUSIONS Integrating NE into the academic curriculum and adopting evidence-based lessons that entail targeted information delivery and participatory activities can improve knowledge, foster right attitudes and facilitate better eating and activity-related practices in Indian adolescents.

Abstract
The study refers to collaborative writing. The main objective of this study is to show the effects of collaborative writing in the acquisition of the English language upon students of non-compulsory secondary education. The applied study is grounded on a quantitative focus of correlational character and descriptive basis, while applying a quasi-experimental design with a control group (CG) and an experimental group (EG). The results show that there is a significant relation that favors the method of collaborative writing upon the dimensions of feedback, motivation, collaboration, satisfaction, and ratings. It can be concluded that the collaborative writing method is effective if compared to the individual learning method.

Abstract
Adolescence is a phase in the life cycle of human beings. Adequate knowledge, attitudes and practices towards malnutrition are necessary for proper growth and development and for their future children. This systematic review aimed to determine the effect of health education intervention to improve the knowledge, attitudes and practices of adolescents on malnutrition. PubMed, Scopus, clinical trials, CINAHL, SAGE, Science Direct and Medline were searched according to Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Reviews and Meat-analysis (PRISMA) guidelines to identified published studies from January 2013 to December 2019 based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total of eight studies were included in this review. Data extraction was done based on randomized controlled trial only. Three out of the eight studies had low risk of bias, the overall evidence of the study was moderate. Findings from this study suggest that health education intervention among adolescents have significantly improved their knowledge, attitudes and practices. More specific interventions should be conducted in low and middle income countries since they bear more of the burden of malnutrition globally.

Abstract
Currently, more and more teachers decide to follow active teaching methods, leaving behind traditional teaching methods. Among the most used pedagogical methods in the educational field is the collaborative learning. The general objective of the present investigation is to know the performance and academic development of the term "collaborative learning" in the documents collected in the Web of Science database. The research method developed was based on a bibliometric study, identifying academic performance and conceptual development, through a co-word analysis. Particularly, we have pursued four main objectives: (a) To determine the degree of performance of documents collected from collaborative learning; (b) to identify the scientific development of so-called collaborative learning; (c) to analyze the most incidental aspects of collaborative learning; and (d) to value the most representative authors who are experts in the use of collaborative learning. The total number of manuscripts studied is 3295. The results show the manuscripts are written mainly in English by researchers who belong from the United States. The main area of knowledge is Education Educational Research. As a conclusion, it can be said that the collaborative learning pedagogical method is at a turning point in the scientific field. Its scientific evolution, focused on its principles in the students themselves, has extended to other branches. At present, studies are oriented towards technological resources, co-regulation, and the academic achievements of students. Furthermore, in the coming years the terms innovation, design, patterns, collaboration, and communication will probably be the new lines of study in this scientific field.

Abstract
Today, pedagogical proposals are increasingly moving away from purely traditional approaches, with a proliferation of active methodologies in the teaching–learning processes. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of the collaborative method in mobile learning, as opposed to traditional methodology, for university students in the learning of the didactic program. The research methodology is quantitative, applying a quasi-experimental design with a control group and experimental group. The results show that the collaborative learning teaching method associated with mobile learning mainly increases motivation, the relationships between teachers and students, the relationships between students and content, the relationships between students and students, autonomy in learning, pedagogical collaboration between students, problem-solving, and the sense of time in the training process. It is concluded that the collaborative learning method associated with mobile learning is more effective for learning didactic programming than the traditional method.

Abstract
Nowadays, education requires changes in the teaching and learning processes, through the implementation of innovative and motivating pedagogical actions, owing to the existing needs in society. Education, owing to the current needs of society, requires changes in the teaching and learning processes through the implementation of innovative and motivating pedagogical actions. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the collaborative method, based on the Harry Potter theme, with respect to the traditional method in the first year of Obligatory Secondary Education for the learning of geometric figures in the subject of mathematics. For this purpose, a quasi-experimental, quantitative, descriptive, and correlational study has been designed, using a standardized questionnaire as a technique to collect information. The sample is composed of 236 students from the first year of Obligatory Secondary Education distributed in eight groups (four control and four experimental) from a public high school in the city of Cádiz (Spain). The tests carried out show that collaborative learning generates improvements in the attitudes and mathematical dimensions. Therefore, the collaborative method, developed by means of the Harry Potter theme for students in the first year of Compulsory Secondary Education in the subject of mathematics, causes a better attitude of the student towards the teaching and learning process. Furthermore, it facilitates the acquisition of mathematical contents related to geometry, which does not directly affect the students’ grades because, although those of the experimental group are better than those obtained by the control group, the differences between the two are minimal.

Abstract
Background Nowadays, drug abuse is one of the most important health problems that can affect the quality of life of people in mental, psychological, physical, and social dimensions. Theory-based education can help the adolescents to promote their drug abuse preventive behaviors. Objectives The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of education based on the health belief model (HBM) on drug abuse preventive behaviors in adolescent students. Methods This study was an interventional quasi-experimental study with a pre-test/post-test design conducted in two high schools in the southeast of Iran. A two-step cluster sampling method was used and 120 students were randomly selected and categorized into the control (n = 60) and intervention (n = 60) groups. The intervention group participated in an education program based on the HBM in four 75-min sessions. Data were collected using demographic and drug abuse preventive behavior questionnaires based on the HBM. Results In the pre-test stage, the mean scores of drug abuse preventive behaviors and its dimensions were not significantly different between the intervention and control groups (t = -2.597 p = 0.641). In the post-test stage, the mean scores of the intervention and control groups were significantly different; the drug abuse preventive behaviors and its dimensions improved in the intervention group (t = 14.57, p < 0.001). Conclusion The findings showed that education based on the HBM had a significant effect on drug abuse preventive behaviors and its dimensions. Therefore, educational packages based on the HBM are recommended to improve these behaviors in adolescents.
