Abstract
The field of emergency medicine (EM) is a high-stress medical specialty. We aim to comparatively investigate burnout, work addiction, and stress-related growth between EM physicians and EM residents. Our sample consists of 117 EM professionals, 41 physicians and 76 residents, from 5 out of the 12 EM county departments in Romania that run residency programs. Methods: An online survey was sent to 461 EM professionals (170 physicians and 291 residents), with a response rate of 25.4%. The survey comprised two sections: the first focused on sociodemographic and professional data, with the second consisting of six validated assessment instruments: the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory, Dutch Work Addiction Scale-short version, Stress-Related Growth Scale, Responsive Distress Scale, Self-Discipline Scale, and Zuckerman-Kuhlman Personality Questionnaire. Both EM physicians and residents reported moderate to high levels of burnout, disengagement, and exhaustion, but there was no significant difference between them. However, physicians exhibited significantly higher levels of work addiction, excessive work, compulsive work, and stress-related growth. No significant differences were found in compulsive work behaviors. Conclusions: Burnout levels are comparable between EM physicians and residents. However, physicians demonstrate higher work addiction but also higher stress-related growth. Personality variables and sleep duration appear to be more influential in predicting burnout than in work addiction or stress-related growth.

Abstract
We investigated the relationship between the dark triad traits and three dimensions of burnout - emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced professional efficacy on a sample of high school teachers. Our research extends the existing literature by examining not only the effects of overall scores of the dark triad traits on the dimensions of burnout, but also the effects of specific components of each dark triad trait. Additionally, we explored the moderating role of stress in the relationship between the dark triad traits and three burnout dimensions. The results show that overall psychopathy predicted increased emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, whereas overall narcissism predicted lower emotional exhaustion and higher professional efficacy. Regarding specific components of the dark triad traits, antisocial behavior as a component of psychopathy and cynical view of human nature as a component of Machiavellianism significantly predicted higher emotional exhaustion, whereas power as a component of narcissism predicted higher professional efficacy. Perceived stress significantly moderated the effects on narcissism on emotional exhaustion so that emotional exhaustion was decreasing in teachers when they were higher on narcissism and perceived higher stress, whereas it was increasing in those that were higher on narcissism and perceived lower stress. The results provide information for addressing teacher burnout, with psychopathy as a risk factor, and narcissism as a potential protective element.

Abstract
Background Burnout is prevalent in medical training, and some data indicates certain personality types are more susceptible. The criterion reference for measurement of burnout is the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), which scores three factors: emotional exhaustion (EE); depersonalization (DP); and personal accomplishment (PA). Emotional exhaustion most closely correlates with burnout. Studies have yet to evaluate a link between burnout markers and certain personality traits in emergency medicine (EM) residents. The personality traits of openness, agreeableness, extraversion, conscientiousness, and neuroticism can be measured with a 50-item International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) Big 5 survey. Our goal in this study was to be the first to examine the relationship between personality traits and burnout among EM residents and guide future research on potential predictors of burnout and targeted interventions for resident well-being. Methods This was an observational, cross-sectional study conducted in March and April of 2023 in an urban, Level II trauma center, involving all EM residents at a three-year residency program. Two surveys, the IPIP and MBI-Human Services Survey, were distributed to all residents, and their responses were anonymous. We calculated raw/mean scores and standard deviations for each personality trait/burnout measure and compared them by the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results All 38 residents completed the surveys. A total of 31% of the cohort reported high exhaustion, 13% reported high DP, and 42% reported low PA. Two of 38 (5%) residents reported the combination of high EE, high DP, and low PA. There was a statistically significant negative correlation between conscientiousness and EE (n = 38; Pearson r = -0.40, P < 0.001) and a positive correlation between conscientiousness and PA (n = 38; Pearson r = 0.36, P = 0.03). Conclusion In our sample, residents who were more conscientious reported experiencing lower levels of emotional exhaustion and a greater sense of personal accomplishment. Programs may cautiously explore the potential of assessing resident personality traits as part of broader efforts to identify predictors of burnout, but further research with larger, multicenter, longitudinal samples is needed to corroborate these results. The small sample size and single-center design may limit generalizability of these findings, and the use of self-reported measures introduces the risk of response bias.

Abstract
Burnout among physicians has gained increasing attention in recent years. This issue arises not only from stressful working conditions and individual factors but also from the correlation between burnout and physicians' tolerance of uncertainty. This association could be particularly important in the context of rare diseases, which inherently present greater uncertainty. To date, no studies have explored this topic. Our exploratory study aimed to investigate the associations between uncertainty and burnout scores among physicians while considering secondary factors associated with rare diseases and COVID-related stress. Although not the primary focus, we included COVID-related stress due to its impact during the ongoing pandemic. We conducted an online survey using the Physicians' Reaction to Uncertainty Scale (PRU) and the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory (OLBI). Experience with rare diseases was quantified by assessing the weekly working hours devoted to patients with such conditions. We conducted a path analysis, initially using a fully recursive model and subsequently eliminating non-significant paths. 128 physicians (n = 73 female) participated in the survey, with 31% of them displaying significant burnout scores. Notably, significant associations were found between the PRU subscale anxiety and both dimensions of burnout, as well as between the PRU subscale disclosure to patients and the burnout dimension of exhaustion. COVID-related stress was also significantly associated with exhaustion, while experience with rare diseases was significantly associated with disengagement. No correlation was observed between experience with rare diseases and uncertainty scores. The model demonstrated an excellent fit (RMSEA = 0.055). Our results show that physician burnout is a pressing issue and confirm the association between anxiety due to uncertainty and increased burnout scores.

Abstract
Background We aimed to assess the effect of mindfulness-based cognitive behavior therapy (MB-CBT) as an intervention to reduce burnout among secondary school teachers in Nepal. Methods The baseline survey of this randomized controlled trial included 218 secondary school teachers from 37 schools in Kathmandu. At a one-month follow-up, 192 teachers completed post-test survey. The Maslach Burnout Inventory for Educators (MBI-ES) tool was used to measure burnout in three dimensions: emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP), and personal accomplishment (PA). Teachers in the treatment arm (n=102) received MB-CBT, while those in the control arm (n=116) continued their regular activities. Linear regression models with generalized estimating equations were used to calculate the mean, mean change estimates, and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results The mean level of EE decreased during the post-test for both treatment (mean change -0.93, 95% CI: -2.56 to 0.70) and control (-1.71, 95% CI: -3.24 to -0.18) arms. The mean level of DP also decreased in the treatment arm (-0.12, 95% CI: -0.98 to -0.75), but a sharper decline was observed in the control arm (-1.97, 95% CI: -2.78 to -1.16). The mean level of PA increased in both the treatment (1.04, 95% CI: -0.21 to 2.30) and control (1.53, 95% CI: 0.35 to 2.70) arms. Conclusions The prevalence of high EE and low PA decreased in both arms. However, the prevalence of high DP remained constant in the treatment arm but sharply decreased in the control arm. No significant differences between the arms were found in the post-test mean levels of EE, DP, and PA. The virtual MB-CBT intervention showed no significant impact on reducing burnout. Nonetheless, small reductions in burnout were observed in both groups.

Abstract
Background/Objectives: This is a cross-sectional study designed to explore the contribution of personality factors (the Alternative Five Factor Model) and lower order characteristics (responsive distress and self-discipline) to burnout, work addiction, and stress-related growth among Romanian prehospital emergency healthcare workers. Methods: A total of 266 prehospital professionals (41 physicians, 74 nurses, and 151 paramedics) participated in the study out of the 728 invited (36.5% response rate). The age of participants ranged between 20 and 57 years and 67.3% were men. The participants completed the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory, the Dutch Work Addiction Scale (the short version), the Stress-Related Growth Scale, the Zuckerman-Kuhlman Personality Inventory, the Responsive Distress Scale, and the Self-Discipline Scale. Results: The results show that burnout was predicted by age, gender, impulsive sensation seeking, responsive distress, and self-discipline; work addiction was predicted by aggression-hostility, sociability, and responsive distress, while stress-related growth was predicted by age, activity, and self-discipline. Additionally, we found that emergency healthcare workers displayed lower impulsive sensation seeking, neuroticism-anxiety, and aggression-hostility, but displayed higher levels of activity and sociability in comparison with the general Romanian population, although these differences must be interpreted with caution as the general Romanian population tend to be significantly younger. Conclusions: This study provides new insights into the role of personality traits as risk factors for burnout and work addiction, and as protective factors for stress-related growth in prehospital emergency personnel. It is also among the few studies in this field to employ the Alternative Five Factor Model of personality.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Compassion fatigue is a state of emotional and physical exhaustion that arises from frequent contact with people who have experienced trauma or stress, which may affect particularly those working in health care. This study aimed to elucidate the prevalence and determinants of compassion fatigue among pediatric nurses. METHODS A survey was administered to pediatric nurses at a tertiary hospital in Jiangsu province, China. Chinese compassion fatigue scale was used to investigate the compassion fatigue. RESULTS The study enrolled 364 pediatric nurses, with a compassion fatigue prevalence of 59.89%. Age (odds ratio [OR] = 2.094, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.833-2.418), education level (OR = 2.118, 95% CI = 1.852-2.669), monthly income (OR = 3.976, 95% CI = 2.904-4.412), and having children at home (OR = 2.314, 95% CI = 1.851-3.025) were independent predictors of compassion fatigue. CONCLUSIONS These findings demonstrate the need for targeted interventions to mitigate compassion fatigue in pediatric nurses.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Many pharmacy workplaces are so stressful that pharmacy personnel are unable to meet both clinical and nonclinical duties. Adjustments to training, roles, and responsibilities are not able to be made quickly enough to adapt to change and meet expanding responsibilities. OBJECTIVES Misalignment between a person's unique personality type and their work dynamics can be associated with a stress reaction, what that reaction looks like, and what strategies would be most effective for reducing stress. The objectives for this study were to: (1) assess variability in the personality types of pharmacy personnel, (2) explore variation in most satisfying job activities and perceptions of stress by personality type, and (3) receive feedback regarding the accuracy, applicability, and recommendations for improving a tool for addressing stress. METHODS A self-administered online questionnaire was used for collecting data from 1098 pharmacy personnel licensed in Minnesota. After answering four Preferred Communication Style Questionnaire items, a personalized De-Stress Rx report was generated for each respondent's feedback by answering questions about the tool's accuracy, applicability to them for helping reduce or manage stress, and recommendations for improving its usefulness. Data were analyzed using content analysis and descriptive statistics. RESULTS The findings showed variability in the personality types of pharmacy personnel and that both the most satisfying job activities and stress perceptions vary by personality type. A tool that was designed to address pharmacy personnel stress was found to be both accurate and applicable. Study participants encouraged the expansion of the tool to include resources for follow-up and implementation. Also, they recommended expansion to teach groups and leaders about how to apply this tool to whole organizations, group dynamics, and evolving practice settings. CONCLUSION We propose that the De-Stress Rx Tool can help reduce the stress that is inherent in current pharmacy work settings.

Abstract
The Big Five factors model of personality is one of the most internationally studied and applied since it has been replicated in multiple investigations in different countries and cultures. This five-dimensional structure has evidence from studies carrying out factor analyses in different versions and adaptations of personality measurement instruments under these theoretical assumptions, and cross-cultural studies reveal its universality. However, no research has investigated how this structure is replicated in Latin American countries yet. This study aimed to carry out a cross-cultural study evaluating the factorial congruence of the Revised International Personality Item Pool in Latin American countries. The validity was also analyzed assessing relationships with gender, age, and self-reported activities of daily living. The five-dimensional structure was supported by evidence in the different samples that participated in this study, preserving the individual differences that characterize each country. Differences according to gender and age were found in different personality factors, as well as relationships with recreational activities. It is concluded that the five-factor structure of the scale is replicated in Latin American samples and that the psychometric properties of the instrument are consistent. Limitations and future lines of research are discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Burnout is a growing problem in medical education, and is usually characterised by three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and reduced professional efficacy. Currently, the majority of burnout studies have been conducted in western high-income countries, overshadowing findings from low- and middle-income countries. Our objective is to investigate burnout and its associated predictive factors in Morocco, aiming to guide intervention strategies, while also assessing differences between the preclinical and clinical years. METHODS A cross-sectional, self-administered online survey assessing burnout dimensions and its main determinants was distributed among medical students at Université Mohammed VI des Sciences et de la Santé (UM6SS, Casablanca, Morocco). Descriptive analyses involved computing mean scores, standard deviations and Pearson correlations. Further, t-tests were performed to check for significant differences in burnout dimensions across the preclinical and clinical learning phase, and stepwise linear regression analyses were conducted using a backward elimination method to estimate the effects of the selected variables on the three burnout dimensions. RESULTS A t-test assessing the difference in cynicism found a significant difference between students at the preclinical phase and the clinical phase, t(90) = -2.5, p = 0.01. For emotional exhaustion and reduced professional efficacy no significant difference was observed. A linear regression analysis showed that emotional exhaustion was significantly predicted by workload, work-home conflict, social support from peers and neuroticism. Cynicism was predicted by the learning phase, workload, meaningfulness and neuroticism; and reduced professional efficacy by neuroticism only. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest a potential gradual increase in cynicism during medical education in Morocco. Conducting this study in a low- and middle income country has enhanced the scientific understanding of burnout in these regions. Given the identified predictive factors for burnout, such as workload, work-home conflict, support from peers, neuroticism, and meaningfulness, it is necessary to focus on these elements when developing burnout interventions.

Abstract
Introduction Personality plays a crucial role in shaping an individual's interactions with the world. The Big Five personality traits are widely used frameworks that help describe people's psychological behaviours. These traits predict how individuals behave within an organizational setting. Methods In this article, we introduce a virtual reality (VR) strategy for relatively scoring an individual's personality to evaluate the feasibility of predicting personality traits from implicit measures captured from users interacting in VR simulations of different organizational situations. Specifically, eye-tracking and decision-making patterns were used to classify individuals according to their level in each of the Big Five dimensions using statistical machine learning (ML) methods. The virtual environment was designed using an evidence-centered design approach. Results The dimensions were assessed using NEO-FFI inventory. A random forest ML model provided 83% accuracy in predicting agreeableness. A k-nearest neighbour ML model provided 75%, 75%, and 77% accuracy in predicting openness, neuroticism, and conscientiousness, respectively. A support vector machine model provided 85% accuracy for predicting extraversion. These analyses indicated that the dimensions could be differentiated by eye-gaze patterns and behaviours during immersive VR. Discussion Eye-tracking measures contributed more significantly to this differentiation than the behavioural metrics. Currently, we have obtained promising results with our group of participants, but to ensure the robustness and generalizability of our findings, it is imperative to replicate the study with a considerably larger sample. This study demonstrates the potential of VR and ML to recognize personality traits.

Abstract
It is probable that resilience can play a significant role in mitigating the impact of job burnout on workplace safety outcomes. Identification of these relations and paths can be useful for reducing burnout effects and reinforcing safety behavior factors. This study seeks to explore the relationship between job burnout and unsafe behavior, with a specific focus on the mediating role of resilience. This cross-sectional study, conducted in 2023, involved 200 workers in the spinning and weaving industries in central Iran. The study used printed questionnaires distributed to study participants during their rest periods to collect data for further analysis. The questionnaires included demographic information, the Maslach burnout inventory, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and a set of safety behavior questionnaires. Subsequently, the study analyzed various dimensions of job burnout with respect to unsafety behavior by constructing a theoretical model using AMOS software. The results indicate that three burnout dimensions indirectly influence safety compliance through resilience (P < 0.001). Specifically, depersonalization and personal accomplishment directly and indirectly affect safety participation through resilience and safety compliance (P < 0.001). Resilience had the highest direct and total effect coefficients on safety compliance (0.692 and 0.692), while emotional exhaustion exhibited the highest indirect coefficients (- 0.505). Regarding safety participation, the highest direct coefficient was associated with personal accomplishment (0.406), and the greatest indirect and total coefficients with depersonalization (- 0.370 and - 0.588). By recognizing the differential impacts of various burnout dimensions, tailored interventions can be developed to address specific facets of burnout, thus optimizing safety initiatives. Moreover, the pivotal role of resilience unveils a promising avenue for mitigating the adverse effects of burnout on unsafe behaviors.

Abstract
Objective To determine levels of burnout among surgical area nurses in Andalusia (Spain), to identify the phase of burnout in each participant and to consider its relationship with sociodemographic, occupational variables and personality factors considered. Data source Data were collected by means of questionary. All nurses working in the surgical area on the date of data collection participated in the study. Sociodemographic and related to work variables were addressed in the questionnaire. Symptoms of anxiety and depression were measured using the Educational-Clinical Questionnaire: Anxiety and Depression (CECAD). Psychological personality variables were assessed using the NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI), adapted for a Spanish population. Burnout was measured using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Study design Multicentre, cross-sectional, quantitative study carried out from August to October 2021. Data analysis Descriptive analysis, Student's t-test for independent samples, Pearson's correlation and multiple linear regression were performed with SPSS 25.0. Data extraction methods The study sample consisted of 214 surgical area nurses at 23 hospitals in Andalusia (Spain). Sociodemographic, occupational and personality variables were studied using the Maslach Burnout Inventory, the NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) and the Educational-Clinical Questionnaire: Anxiety and Depression. The STROBE statement guidelines were applied. Principal findings 29.4% of the nurses in the sample presented high levels of emotional exhaustion, 25.7% suffered from depersonalization and 28% had low levels of personal accomplishment. These three dimensions were significantly correlated with the NEO-FFI subscales (neuroticism, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness and extraversion), and with all the anxiety and depression items considered. Agreeableness was a statistically significant predictor (p < 0.001) for all three dimensions of burnout. Conclusion Nurses in the surgical area present high levels of Burnout. There is evidence that relates Burnout to personality factors and socio-demographic variables.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In the cognitive-affective model of athlete burnout, anxiety is a key physiological response to stress that influences the development of burnout in athletes. Despite its importance, there has been little research on the relationship between competitive anxiety and athlete burnout, particularly regarding the mediating mechanisms. This study aimed to explore the relationship between competitive anxiety and athlete burnout, with a focus on the mediating role of general need satisfaction from self-determination theory. METHODS The current study employed a cross-sectional design involving 618 college athletes (354 females, mean age 20.57 years), comprising 303 participants in individual sports and 315 in team sports. These participants completed the Sport Anxiety Scale-2 (SAS-2), the Athlete Burnout Questionnaire (ABQ), and the Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction Scale in General (BPNSS-G) online. Subsequently, correlation, regression, and mediation analyses were conducted using SPSS and JASP to examine the relationships between the variables. RESULTS Regression results indicated that somatic anxiety (beta = 0.116, t = 2.21, p = 0.028) and concentration disruption (beta = 0.259, t = 5.35, p < 0.001) in competitive anxiety were positively correlated with athlete burnout. Worry in competitive anxiety was negatively correlated with competence (beta =-0.149, t=-2.70, p = 0.007) and autonomy (beta =-0.179, t=-3.25, p = 0.001) in needs satisfaction. Additionally, the regression results found that competence (beta =-0.178, t=-3.39, p = 0.001) and Autonomy (beta =-0.208, t=-4.17, p < 0.001) were negatively associated with athlete burnout. Mediation analyses revealed significant direct effects in the relationship between somatic anxiety (Effect = 0.116, p = 0.026) along with concentration disruption (Effect = 0.259, p < 0.001) and athlete burnout. In the indirect effect, worry (Effect = 0.071, p = 0.002) as well as concentration disruption (Effect = 0.082, p < 0.001) had significant effects in relation to athlete burnout, respectively. CONCLUSIONS Overall, the current study found that somatic anxiety and concentration disruption in competitive anxiety are related to athlete burnout. Moreover, competence and autonomy in need satisfaction mediated the relationship between competitive anxiety (worry and concentration disruption) and athlete burnout. The findings of this study not only shed further light on the relationship between competitive anxiety and athlete burnout but also provide theoretical insights into the mediating mechanisms of this relationship.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Extensive research has been conducted treating burnout as an independent variable and performance as a dependent variable to proffer possible solutions to burnout and job performance among academics. Despite this, the burnout crises persist and are exacerbated by the ongoing global proliferation of higher education. Acknowledging this, the current study explored whether performance may contribute to the emergence of burnout. METHODS The study's sample population comprised 689 academics from Jiangsu province, China. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results served to measure performance. Psychological counselling and Burnout were calculated using mental health results garnered from the universities. Data was collected on respondents' demographic characteristics and work situations. The mean scores were 0.517 (SD = 0.5) for gender and 1.586 (SD = 1.103) for age. The relationship among performance, job burnout, and psychological counselling was analysed via a cross-sectional survey deploying grouped regression. RESULTS Academics' job performance was found to regulate their burnout (β = -0.058, P < 0.01). Higher performance of academics was significantly associated with lower job burnout and psychological counselling. Furthermore, psychological counselling significantly moderated job burnout (β = -0.012, P < 0.05) among academics without regulating their job performance. CONCLUSION The paper supplements the discourse on job burnout and academic performance by suggesting a pre-counselling measure as a strategy to address the crises of burnout. The paper argued that the continued competence of employees should prevent burnout in Higher education and ensure better job performance.

Abstract
Introduction Job burnout has severe consequences for teachers and students. This study aimed to measure the direct effects of personality traits on job burnout-stress syndrome among allied health educators. Furthermore, teachers' digital competence was evaluated as a personal job resource for mitigating the negative impact of burnout. Methods This study examined direct relationships between work-related stress syndrome and personality traits, namely, extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness to experience. Data was collected from 334 allied health institution teachers through a self-reported questionnaire. Linear regression analysis was used to test for direct effects. Moderating effects were evaluated using Andrew F Hays PROCESS macro v2.16.3. Results All five personality traits had a significant negative relationship to burnout and teachers' digital competence moderated the relationship between personality traits and burnout. This study's findings provide evidence, that personality is significantly related to job burnout among allied health educators. Conclusion These empirical findings conclude that personality traits are related to burnout in the non-Western culture of Pakistan. Furthermore, teachers' digital competence acts as a personal job resource and potential moderator in the current digital working environment. Therefore, future teachers should enrich their digital competencies for improved performance, and advanced digital competency courses should be included in their curriculum.

Abstract
Research on burnout has garnered considerable attention since its inception. However, the ongoing debate persists regarding the conceptual model of burnout and its relationship with depression. Thus, we conducted a network analysis to determine the dimensional structure of burnout and the burnout-depression overlap. The Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 were used to measure burnout and depression among 1096 college students. We constructed networks for burnout, depression, and a burnout-depression co-occurrence network. The results showed that cynicism symptom was the most central to the burnout network. In the co-occurrence network, depressive symptoms ("anhedonia", "fatigue") and burnout symptom ("doubting the significance of studies") were the most significant in causing burnout-depression comorbidity. Community detection revealed three communities within burnout symptoms, aligning closely with their three dimensions identified through factor analysis. Additionally, there was no overlap between burnout and depression. In conclusion, our findings support a multidimensional structure of burnout, affirming it as a distinct concept separate from depression. Cynicism, rather than exhaustion, plays the most important role in burnout and the burnout-depression comorbidity.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Besides the well-known negative effects on physical and psychological well-being, burnout has been associated with high attrition and absenteeism in the midwifery profession. This study explores whether burnout in midwifery can be explained by the midwives' type of personality and the sense of empowerment they experience at work. Moreover, the study identifies areas of improvement in relation to these topics and elements that can be conducive to strengthening the midwifery workforce. METHODS A cross-sectional exploratory study design was used, including an online survey completed by 120 midwives working for an NHS Trust in London. The response rate was 24%. Three validated questionnaires were used: the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI), the Perception of Empowerment in Midwifery Scale (PEMS), and the Big Five Personality Trait Short Questionnaire (BFPTSQ). RESULTS A multiple linear regression analysis indicated empowerment and personality traits are significant predictors of levels of burnout. Furthermore, emotional stability was shown to partially mediate the relationship between empowerment and burnout. The study also examined the midwifery burnout levels of this NHS Trust, which were found to be significantly high and similar to a previous study conducted by the Royal College of Midwives. CONCLUSIONS The empowerment experienced by midwives and their personality traits significantly predict the levels of burnout in the midwifery workforce. Only empowerment and emotional stability were significant contributors to the regression model. Multiple strategies can be implemented to support midwives in these two areas. These interventions could also be of great help to reinforce the role of the midwife, making it more appealing to society and, in particular, younger generations with an interest in human-orientated professions.

Abstract
This study explored the associations between personality dimensions, burnout, and psychopathology in healthcare professionals in intensive care units (ICUs). This study further aimed to discern the differences in these relationships when considering the variables of critical care experience (less than 5 years, 5-10 years, and more than 10 years), profession (nurses versus intensivists), and the urban size of the city where the ICU is located (metropolitan cities versus smaller urban cities). This cross-sectional investigation's outcomes are based on data from 503 ICU personnel, including 155 intensivists and 348 nurses, in 31 ICU departments in Greece. Participants underwent a comprehensive assessment involving a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), and the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90). To analyze the interplay among critical care experience, burnout status, and psychopathology, a moderation analysis was conducted with personality dimensions (i.e., psychoticism, extraversion, and neuroticism) serving as the mediator variable. Profession and the urban size of the ICU location were considered as moderators influencing these relationships. Male healthcare professionals showed higher psychoticism levels than females, aligning with prior research. Experienced nurses reported lower personal achievement, hinting at potential motivation challenges for professional growth. Psychoticism predicted high depersonalization and low personal achievement. Neuroticism and psychoticism negatively impacted ICU personnel's mental well-being, reflected in elevated psychopathology scores and burnout status. Psychoticism appears to be the primary factor influencing burnout among the three personality dimensions, particularly affecting intensivists. In contrast, nurses are more influenced by their critical care experience on their mental health status.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Burnout is a common issue among medical professionals, and one of the well-studied predisposing factors is the Big Five personality traits. However, no studies have explored the relationships between these traits and burnout from a trait-to-component perspective. To understand the specific connections between each Big Five trait and burnout components, as well as the bridging effects of each trait on burnout, we employed network analysis. METHODS A cluster sampling method was used to select a total of 420 Chinese medical personnel. The 15-item Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory-15 (CBF-PI-15) assessed the Big Five personality traits, while the 15-item Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) assessed burnout components. Network analysis was used to estimate network structure of Big Five personality traits and burnout components and calculate the bridge expected influence. RESULTS The study revealed distinct and clear relationships between the Big Five personality traits and burnout components. For instance, Neuroticism was positively related to Doubt significance and Worthwhile, while Conscientiousness was negatively related to Accomplish all tasks. Among the Big Five traits, Neuroticism displayed the highest positive bridge expected influence, while Conscientiousness displayed the highest negative bridge expected influence. CONCLUSIONS The network model provides a means to investigate the connections between the Big Five personality traits and burnout components among medical professionals. This study offers new avenues for thought and potential targets for burnout prevention and treatment in medical personnel, which can be further explored and tested in clinical settings.

Abstract
BACKGROUND High rates of burnout are observed among health care professionals worldwide, which could have negative consequences on personal and organizational levels. We aimed to evaluate the burnout prevalence and factors associated with burnout among oncologists in Poland. MATERIALS AND METHODS An online survey was conducted using the validated Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) and additional work/lifestyle questions. Descriptive statistics, parametric and nonparametric tests, and multivariate logistic regression were used to identify factors associated with burnout. RESULTS A total of 228 physicians participated in the survey, including 168 medical oncologists, 43 radiation oncologists, and 17 from other specialties. Data collected from 211 medical and radiation oncologists were included in the final analyses. Most participants were female (71.6%) and ≤40 years of age (70.1%). A self-reported feeling of burnout was present in 65.9% of participants. Based on the MBI-HSS, 74.9% showed evidence of burnout with burnout subdomains as follows: depersonalization 37.0%; emotional exhaustion 64.5%; low accomplishment 43.1%. There were no differences in burnout rates based on specialization (oncology/haematology-75.6%, radiotherapy-72.1%), career stage, gender, or age groups. Lack of work-life balance was the only significant factor associated with the risk of burnout in the logistic regression (relative risk 2.6, 95% confidence interval 1.3-5.4). Only 20.9% of physicians had access to psychological support in their workplace; however, 70.1% desired such support. Three main factors impacting burnout in cancer care workers were: bureaucracy and administrative duties overload, admissions of many patients, and poor work culture. CONCLUSIONS Burnout is common among medical and radiation oncologists in Poland. There is a high demand for psychological support and organizational changes in the workplace to reduce risk and mitigate the adverse effects of burnout among health care professionals.

Abstract
Occupational stress and burnout are widely encountered among many healthcare professionals, including nurses and doctors, as well as among members of other professions. For example, nurses, who have disrupted circadian rhythms, are seen to have sleep problems. In addition, their personality traits are also considered to be related with burnout. This study aimed to identify nurses' circadian preference and personality traits along with their effects on sleep quality and their relationship with burnout. In this study, 211 nurses (40 male, 171 female) using the correlational model from quantitative research methods was used since the variables of morningness/eveningness, personality trait, sleep quality, and burnout were aimed to be investigated at once, without intervention, within the predictivity context of the relationship among them. When the scores obtained from the burnout scale were examined, it was observed that the emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment subdimensions were so close to the median value and mean, while depersonalization was quite low compared to these sub-dimensions. The participants' sleep quality was seen to be at the lowest step of the poor sleep quality class. When the scores obtained from the MESSI scale are examined, it is seen that the scores obtained from the morning affect dimension are above the median value, and the highest average according to the Five-Factor Personality Traits Scale is obtained in the subdimensions of agreeableness and conscientiousness. Female gender, constantly work at night, having a high number of weekly working hours increased burnout level. Additionally Evening chronotype, poor sleep quality, neuroticism, agreeableness, extroversion and conscientiousness personality traits were found to be associated with burnout in this study. In the study, being of different chronotypes, having other personality traits, and varying sleep quality scores were seen to affect the sub-dimensions of burnout.
