Abstract
BACKGROUND The impact of left ventricular mechanical dyssynchrony (LVMD) on the long-term prognosis of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is unclear. HYPOTHESIS MR uniformity ratio estimates (URE) can detect LVMD and assess STEMI prognosis. STUDY TYPE Retrospective analysis of a prospective multicenter registry (EARLY-MYO trial, NCT03768453). POPULATION Overall, 450 patients (50 females) with first-time STEMI were analyzed, as well as 40 participants without cardiovascular disease as controls. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3.0-T, balanced steady-state free precession cine and late gadolinium enhancement imaging. ASSESSMENT MRI data were acquired within 1 week of symptom onset. Major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs), including cardiovascular death, nonfatal re-infarction, hospitalization for heart failure, and stroke, were the primary clinical outcomes. LVMD was represented by circumferential URE (CURE) and radial URE (RURE) calculated using strain measurements. The patients were grouped according to clinical outcomes or URE values. Patients' clinical characteristics and MR indicators were compared. STATISTICAL TESTS The Student's t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, receiver operating characteristic curve analysis with area under the curve, Kaplan-Meier analysis, Cox regression, logistic regression, intraclass correlation coefficient, c-index, and integrated discrimination improvement were used. P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS CURE and RURE were significantly lower in patients with STEMI than in controls. The median follow-up was 60.5 months. Patients with both lower CURE and RURE values experienced a significantly higher incidence of MACEs by 3.525-fold. Both CURE and RURE were independent risk factors for MACEs. The addition of UREs improved diagnostic efficacy and risk stratification based on infarct size and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). The indicators associated with LVMD included male sex, serum biomarkers (peak creatine phosphokinase and cardiac troponin I), infarct size, and LVEF. DATA CONCLUSION CURE and RURE may be useful to evaluate long-term prognosis after STEMI. EVIDENCE LEVEL 4 TECHNICAL EFFICACY: Stage 2.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Obesity has become a serious public health issue, significantly elevating the risk of various complications. It is a well-established contributor to Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Evaluating HFpEF in obesity is crucial. Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) has emerged as a valuable tool for validating prognostic biomarkers and guiding treatment targets. Hence, assessing EAT is of paramount importance. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is acknowledged as the gold standard for analyzing cardiac function and morphology. We hope to use CMR to assess EAT as a bioimaging marker to evaluate HFpEF in obese patients. AIM To assess the diagnostic utility of CMR for evaluating heart failure with preserved ejection fraction [HFpEF; left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction ≥ 50%] by measuring the epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) volumes and EAT mass in obese patients. METHODS Sixty-two obese patients were divided into two groups for a case-control study based on whether or not they had heart failure with HFpEF. The two groups were defined as HFpEF+ and HFpEF-. LV geometry, global systolic function, EAT volumes and EAT mass of all subjects were obtained using cine magnetic resonance sequences. RESULTS Forty-five patients of HFpEF- group and seventeen patients of HFpEF+ group were included. LV mass index (g/m2) of HFpEF+ group was higher than HFpEF- group (P < 0.05). In HFpEF+ group, EAT volumes, EAT volume index, EAT mass, EAT mass index and the ratio of EAT/[left atrial (LA) left-right (LR) diameter] were higher compared to HFpEF- group (P < 0.05). In multivariate analysis, Higher EAT/LA LR diameter ratio was associated with higher odds ratio of HFpEF. CONCLUSION EAT/LA LR diameter ratio is highly associated with HFpEF in obese patients. It is plausible that there may be utility in CMR for assessing obese patients for HFpEF using EAT/LA LR diameter ratio as a diagnostic biomarker. Further prospective studies, are needed to validate these proof-of-concept findings.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Native T1 and radiomics were used for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and hypertensive heart disease (HHD) differentiation previously. The current problem is that global native T1 remains modest discrimination performance and radiomics requires feature extraction beforehand. Deep learning (DL) is a promising technique in differential diagnosis. However, its feasibility for discriminating HCM and HHD has not been investigated. PURPOSE To examine the feasibility of DL in differentiating HCM and HHD based on T1 images and compare its diagnostic performance with other methods. STUDY TYPE Retrospective. POPULATION 128 HCM patients (men, 75; age, 50 years ± 16) and 59 HHD patients (men, 40; age, 45 years ± 17). FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3.0T; Balanced steady-state free precession, phase-sensitive inversion recovery (PSIR) and multislice native T1 mapping. ASSESSMENT Compare HCM and HHD patients baseline data. Myocardial T1 values were extracted from native T1 images. Radiomics was implemented through feature extraction and Extra Trees Classifier. The DL network is ResNet32. Different input including myocardial ring (DL-myo), myocardial ring bounding box (DL-box) and the surrounding tissue without myocardial ring (DL-nomyo) were tested. We evaluate diagnostic performance through AUC of ROC curve. STATISTICAL TESTS Accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, ROC, and AUC were calculated. Independent t test, Mann-Whitney U-test and Chi-square test were adopted for HCM and HHD comparison. P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS DL-myo, DL-box, and DL-nomyo models showed an AUC (95% confidential interval) of 0.830 (0.702-0.959), 0.766 (0.617-0.915), 0.795 (0.654-0.936) in the testing set. AUC of native T1 and radiomics were 0.545 (0.352-0.738) and 0.800 (0.655-0.944) in the testing set. DATA CONCLUSION The DL method based on T1 mapping seems capable of discriminating HCM and HHD. Considering diagnostic performance, the DL network outperformed the native T1 method. Compared with radiomics, DL won an advantage for its high specificity and automated working mode. Abstract
OBJECTIVES Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) is an inherited cardiomyopathy characterized by progressive fibrofatty infiltration of atrial and ventricular myocardium resulting in adverse cardiac events. Atrial function has been increasingly recognized as prognostically important for cardiovascular disease. As the right atrial (RA) strain is a sensitive parameter to describe RA function, we aimed to analyze the prognostic value of the RA strain in ARVC. METHODS RA strain parameters were derived from cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images of 105 participants with definite ARVC. The endpoint was defined as a combination of sudden cardiac death, survival cardiac arrest, and appropriate implantable cardioverter-defibrillator intervention. Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier survival analyses were performed to evaluate the association between RA strain parameters and endpoint. Concordance index (C index), net reclassification index (NRI), and integrated discrimination improvement (IDI) were calculated to assess the incremental value of RA strain in predicting the endpoint. RESULTS After a median follow-up of 5 years, 36 (34.3%) reaching the endpoint displayed significantly reduced RA strain parameters. At Kaplan-Meier analysis, impaired RA reservoir (RARS) and booster strains (RABS) were associated with an increased risk of the endpoint. After adjusting for conventional risk factors, RARS (hazard ratio [HR], 0.956; p = 0.005) and RABS (HR, 0.906; p = 0.002) resulted as independent predictors for endpoint at Cox regression analyses. In addition, RARS and RABS improved prognostic value to clinical risk factors and CMR morphological and functional predictors (all p < 0.05). CONCLUSION RARS and RABS were independent predictors for adverse cardiac events, which could provide incremental prognostic value for conventional predictors in ARVC. CRITICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT We evaluated the prognostic value of right atrial strain in ARVC patients and suggested cardiologists consider RA strain as a predictive parameter when evaluating the long-term outcome of ARVC patients in order to formulate better clinical therapy. KEY POINTS • Patients with ARVC had significantly reduced RA strain and strain rates compared with healthy participants. • Participants with lower RA reservoir and booster stains were associated with a significantly higher risk of adverse cardiac events. • RA booster and reservoir strain provide incremental value to conventional parameters.

Abstract
Corneal diseases are prevalent eye conditions in China, and the lack of effective treatment in the short term can lead to blindness. However, delivering drugs to the cornea safely and effectively poses a significant challenge due to the presence of ocular barriers and clearance mechanisms. Conventional drug delivery methods exhibit low bioavailability, making it difficult to achieve therapeutic effects. Microneedles, with their ability to penetrate ocular surface barriers effectively, offer a low-invasive and highly promising drug delivery technology. This article introduces the main delivery barriers on the ocular surface, classifies microneedles, and highlights the latest developments in the treatment of corneal diseases. Finally, the potential challenges of applying microneedle delivery systems to the ocular surface are analyzed, aiming to provide insights for the clinical application of microneedles in corneal diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The prognostic value of left ventricular (LV) myocardial trabecular complexity on cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) remains unknown. This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of LV myocardial trabecular complexity using fractal analysis in patients with DCM. METHODS Consecutive patients with DCM who underwent CMR between March 2017 and November 2021 at two hospitals were prospectively enrolled. The primary endpoints were defined as the combination of all-cause death and heart failure hospitalization. The events of cardiac death alone were defined as the secondary endpoints.LV trabeculae complexity was quantified by measuring the fractal dimension (FD) of the endocardial border based on fractal geometry on CMR. Cox proportional hazards regression and Kaplan-Meier survival analysis were used to examine the association between variables and outcomes. The incremental prognostic value of FD was assessed in nested models. RESULTS A total of 403 patients with DCM (49.31 ± 14.68 years, 69% male) were recruited. After a median follow-up of 43 months (interquartile range, 28-55 months), 87 and 24 patients reached the primary and secondary endpoints, respectively. Age, heart rate, New York Heart Association functional class >II, N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide, LV ejection fraction, LV end-diastolic volume index, LV end-systolic volume index, LV mass index, presence of late gadolinium enhancement, global FD, LV mean apical FD, and LV maximal apical FD were univariably associated with the outcomes (all P < 0.05). After multivariate adjustment, LV maximal apical FD remained a significant independent predictor of outcome [hazard ratio = 1.179 (1.116, 1.246), P < 0.001]. The addition of LV maximal apical FD in the nested models added incremental prognostic value to other common clinical and imaging risk factors (all <0.001; C-statistic: 0.84-0.88, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION LV maximal apical FD was an independent predictor of the adverse clinical outcomes in patients with DCM and provided incremental prognostic value over conventional clinical and imaging risk factors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) is characterized by progressive myocardial fibro-fatty infiltration accompanied by trabecular disarray. Traditionally, two-dimensional (2D) instead of 3D fractal dimension (FD) analysis has been used to evaluate trabecular disarray. However, the prognostic value of trabecular disorder assessed by 3D FD measurement remains unclear. PURPOSE To investigate the prognostic value of right ventricular trabecular complexity in ACM patients using 3D FD analysis based on cardiac MR cine images. STUDY TYPE Retrospective. POPULATION 85 ACM patients (mean age: 45 ± 17 years, 52 male). FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3.0T/cine imaging, T2-short tau inversion recovery (T2-STIR), and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). ASSESSMENT Using cine images, RV (right ventricular) volumetric and functional parameters were obtained. RV trabecular complexity was measured with 3D fractal analysis by box-counting method to calculate 3D-FD. Cox and logistic regression models were established to evaluate the prognostic value of 3D-FD for major adverse cardiac events (MACE). STATISTICAL TESTS Cox regression and logistic regression to explore the prognostic value of 3D-FD. C-index, time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and area under the ROC curve (AUC) to evaluate the incremental value of 3D-FD. Intraclass correlation coefficient for interobserver variability. P < 0.05 indicated statistical significance. RESULTS 26 MACE were recorded during the 60 month follow-up (interquartile range: 48-67 months). RV 3D-FD significantly differed between ACM patients with MACE (2.67, interquartile range: 2.51 ~ 2.81) and without (2.52, interquartile range: 2.40 ~ 2.67) and was a significant independent risk factor for MACE (hazard ratio, 1.02; 95% confidence interval: 1.01, 1.04). In addition, prognostic model fitness was significantly improved after adding 3D-FD to RV global longitudinal strain, LV involvement, and 5-year risk score separately. DATA CONCLUSION The myocardial trabecular complexity assessed through 3D FD analysis was found associated with MACE and provided incremental prognostic value beyond conventional ACM risk factors. EVIDENCE LEVEL 4 TECHNICAL EFFICACY: Stage 1.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The present study aimed to investigate the incremental prognostic value of the right ventricular fractal dimension (FD), a novel marker of myocardial trabecular complexity by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in patients with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM). METHODS Consecutive patients with ACM undergoing CMR were followed up for major cardiac events, including sudden cardiac death, aborted cardiac arrest, and appropriate implantable cardioverter defibrillator intervention. Prognosis prediction was compared by Cox regression analysis. We established a multivariable model supplemented with RV FD and evaluated its discrimination by Harrell's C-statistic. We compared the category-free, continuous net reclassification improvement (cNRI) and integrated discrimination index (IDI) before and after the addition of FD. RESULTS A total of 105 patients were prospectively included from three centers and followed up for a median of 60 (48, 66) months; experienced 36 major cardiac events were recorded. Trabecular FD displayed a strong unadjusted association with major cardiac events (p < 0.05). In the multivariable Cox regression analysis, RV maximal apical FD maintained an independent association with major cardiac events (hazard ratio, 1.31 (1.11-1.55), p < 0.002). The Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit test displayed good fit (X2 = 0.68, p = 0.99). Diagnostic performance was significantly improved after the addition of RV maximal apical FD to the multivariable baseline model, and the continuous net reclassification improvement increased 21% (p = 0.001), and the integrated discrimination index improved 16% (p = 0.045). CONCLUSIONS In patients with ACM, CMR-assessed myocardial trabecular complexity was independently correlated with adverse cardiovascular events and provided incremental prognostic value. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT The application of FD values for assessing RV myocardial trabeculae may become an accessible and promising parameter in monitoring and early diagnosis of risk factors for adverse cardiovascular events in patients with ACM. KEY POINTS • Ventricular trabecular morphology, a novel quantitative marker by CMR, has been explored for the first time to determine the severity of ACM. • Patients with higher maximal apical fractal dimension of RV displayed significantly higher cumulative incidence of major cardiac events. • RV maximal apical FD was independently associated with major cardiac events and provided incremental prognostic value in patients with ACM.

Abstract
Background Trabecular complexity can be quantified by fractal analysis based on cine images of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), yielding fractal dimension (FD) index. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value of biventricular FD in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Methods This retrospective study included 284 (192 men, median age 53 years) patients with HCM who underwent CMR, with median follow-up of 24 months. Biventricular trabeculae complexity was quantified as FD using short-axis cine images. The primary end point included sudden cardiac death (SCD) events. The secondary end point included both SCD events and rehospitalization due to heart failure. Cox regressions were performed. Prediction models were established by adding ventricular FDs to ESC predictors and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) percentage and the C indices were calculated. Results Cox regressions revealed that left ventricular (LV) maximal apical FD (HR range 1.114-1.133; all P<0.05) and right ventricular (RV) global FD (HR range 1.135-1.150; all P<0.05) were significant prognostic factors of both end points after adjustment for the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) predictors (age, maximum LV wall thickness, LV atrial size, peak left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) gradient, family history of SCD, unexplained syncope, non-sustained ventricular tachycardia), and LGE percentage. The prediction model with the addition of biventricular FDs (C-index: 0.864-0.877) had the best performance. Conclusions LV maximal apical FD and RV global FD were independent predictors of SCD events and rehospitalization due to heart failure in patients with HCM. The addition of biventricular FDs to the conventional prediction model contributed incremental prognosis value in HCM.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The current study aimed to explore a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) model that integrates multidimensional CMR data to accurately identify LV paradoxical pulsation after reperfusion by primary percutaneous coronary intervention with isolated anterior infarction. METHODS A total of 401 participants (311 patients and 90 age-matched volunteers) were recruited for this prospective study. The two-dimensional UNet segmentation model of the LV and classification model for identifying paradoxical pulsation were established using the DCNN model. Features of 2- and 3-chamber images were extracted with 2-dimensional (2D) and 3D ResNets with masks generated by a segmentation model. Next, the accuracy of the segmentation model was evaluated using the Dice score and classification model by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and confusion matrix. The areas under the ROC curve (AUCs) of the physicians in training and DCNN models were compared using the DeLong method. RESULTS The DCNN model showed that the AUCs for the detection of paradoxical pulsation were 0.97, 0.91, and 0.83 in the training, internal, and external testing cohorts, respectively (p < 0.001). The 2.5-dimensional model established using the end-systolic and end-diastolic images combined with 2-chamber and 3-chamber images was more efficient than the 3D model. The discrimination performance of the DCNN model was better than that of physicians in training (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Compared to the model trained by 2-chamber or 3-chamber images alone or 3D multiview, our 2.5D multiview model can combine the information of 2-chamber and 3-chamber more efficiently and obtain the highest diagnostic sensitivity. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT A deep convolutional neural network model that integrates 2-chamber and 3-chamber CMR images can identify LV paradoxical pulsation which correlates with LV thrombosis, heart failure, ventricular tachycardia after reperfusion by primary percutaneous coronary intervention with isolated anterior infarction. KEY POINTS • The epicardial segmentation model was established using the 2D UNet based on end-diastole 2- and 3-chamber cine images. • The DCNN model proposed in this study had better performance for discriminating LV paradoxical pulsation accurately and objectively using CMR cine images after anterior AMI compared to the diagnosis of physicians in training. • The 2.5-dimensional multiview model combined the information of 2- and 3-chamber efficiently and obtained the highest diagnostic sensitivity.

Abstract
PURPOSE Regardless of whether there are morphological abnormalities of right ventricle in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients, the exact contribution of right ventricular (RV) global strains remains unresolved. We aimed to study the prognostic value of RV global strains in HCM patients with and without RV hypertrophy (RVH). METHOD A total of 358 HCM patients who underwent the CMR examination and carried out the follow-up were finally included in this retrospective study. The endpoint was a composite of all-cause mortality, aborted SCD, and heart failure readmission. RV hypertrophy (RVH) was defined as maximal RVWT ≥ 5 mm at end-diastole. RV global strains (RV global longitudinal strain (GLS) and RV global circumferential strain (GCS) were measured in HCM patients by cardiac MRI feature tracking technique. The intraobserver and interobserver reproducibility were evaluated. Receiver-operating characteristic curves and Kaplan-Meier curves, cox proportional hazards regression, Likelihood ratio test and Integrated Discrimination Improvement (IDI) analysis were performed. P-value were corrected for multiple testing when using many covariables by a false discovery rate adjustment. RESULTS Over a median follow-up of 25 (range 3-54) months, 49 patients reached the composite endpoints. HCM patients were divided into the RVH group and non-RVH groups. In the multivariate cox proportional hazards regression, after adjusting multiple clinical and imaging variables, RV GLS and RV GCS were independently associated with the composite endpoints in the RVH group (HR: 1.123; 95 % CI: 1.048-1.205; P = 0.002) and non-RVH group (HR: 1.174; 95 % CI: 1.031-1.337; P = 0.015), respectively. And The IDI index of models improved when adding RV GLS (IDI = 0.030, p < 0.001) and RV GLS (IDI = 0.056, p = 0.020), respectively. CONCLUSIONS RV GLS and RV GCS are independent predictors of HCM with RVH and without RVH, respectively. RV GLS in the RVH group and RV GCS in the non-RVH group provide additional values for predicting the risk of adverse events.

Abstract
The criteria for achieving adjustable rotation of optical vortices are analyzed and used to design a diode-pumped solid-state laser that incorporates intracavity second harmonic generation within a concave-flat cavity to produce frequency-doubled Hermite-Gaussian (FDHG) modes. These FDHG modes are subsequently employed to generate various structured lights containing 2, 4, and 6 nested vortices using an external cylindrical mode converter. Through theoretical exploration, we propose that increasing the radius of curvature of the concave mirror and extending the cavity length can enhance the rotational angles of multiple vortices by expanding the adjustable range of phase shift for FDHG modes. Moreover, theoretical analyses assess vortex rotation concerning the positions of a nonlinear medium, successfully validating the experimental observations and elucidating the phase structures of the transformed beams.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the predictive effect of the renal tumor scoring system on the surgical outcomes of cystic renal masses (CRM). Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the data of 234 patients who received robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) treatment in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from January 2018 to June 2020. And 31 cases had CRM and 203 cases had solid renal masses (SRM). The propensity score of patients was calculated by logistic regression model, and 1∶2 matching was performed by the nearest neighbor method. The changes in perioperative indexes and long-term estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in CRM group and SRM group were compared. The CRM group and SRM group were stratified according to the complexity grading of R.E.N.A.L. score and PADUA score, respectively, to compare the difference in the achievement rate of ideal surgical outcome between the two groups, and analyze the predictive factors affected. The CRM diameter was stratified with 4 cm as the cut-off value (CRM1 group with a diameter<4 cm, CRM2 group with a diameter≥4 cm), and the surgical results were compared with the matched SRM1 group and SRM2 group. Results: In the matching cohort, the CRM group comprised 29 patients with a mean age of (48.7±10.8) years, of which 22 (75.9%) were males. The SRM group included 58 patients with a mean age of (50.4±10.2) years, of which 41 (70.7%) were males, with no statistically significant difference (all P>0.05). The warm ischemia time (WIT) [M (Q1,Q3)] in the CRM group was longer than that in the SRM group [23(18, 25) vs 19(17, 25) min, P=0.040]. The operation time (OT) [M (Q1,Q3)] in the CRM group was also longer than that of the SRM group [130(100, 150) vs 108(86, 120) min, P=0.006]. The change in serum creatinine before and after the operation [M (Q1,Q3)] was higher in the CRM group than in the SRM group [15(10, 23) vs 12(6, 17) μmol/L, P=0.030]. The ideal surgical outcomes were achieved in 7 patients (24.1%) in the CRM group and 36 patients (62.1%) in the SRM group. The number of patients achieving ideal surgical outcomes in R.E.N.A.L. intermediate complex surgery and PADUA advanced complex surgery in the SRM group were 24 (58.5%) and 15 (51.7%), respectively, which were higher than those in the CRM group 6 (27.3%) and 1 (5.9%) respectively (P<0.05). Preoperative eGFR (OR=0.758, 95%CI: 0.719-0.799) and the nature of the tumor (CRM as reference, OR=4.883, 95%CI: 1.550-15.378) were influencing factors for achieving the ideal surgical outcome. Subgroup analysis showed that eGFR changes before and after surgery and the estimated blood loss (EBL) in the CRM2 group were higher than those in the SRM2 group, and WIT and OT were longer than those in the SRM2 group (all P<0.05). The EBL and WIT of the CRM1 group were shorter than those of the CRM2 group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The surgical risk of RAPN in complex CRMs with a maximum diameter of≥4 cm is higher than the risk of RAPN in SRM with equivalent R.E.N.A.L. and PADUA scores.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Entropy is a new late gadolinium enhanced (LGE) cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR)-derived parameter that is independent of signal intensity thresholds. Entropy can be used to measure myocardial tissue heterogeneity by comparing full pixel points of tissue images. This study investigated the incremental prognostic value of left ventricular (LV) entropy in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). METHODS This study enrolled 337 participants with HCM who underwent 3.0-T CMR. The LV entropy was obtained by calculating the probability distribution of the LV myocardial pixel signal intensities of the LGE sequence. Patients who underwent CMR imaging were followed up for endpoints. The primary endpoint was defined as readmission to the hospital owing to heart failure. The secondary endpoint was the composite of the primary endpoint, sudden cardiac death and non-cardiovascular death. RESULTS During the median follow-up of 24 months ± 13 (standard deviation), 43 patients who reached the primary and secondary endpoints had a higher entropy (6.20 ± 0.45, p < 0.001). The patients with increased entropy (≥ 5.587) had a higher risk of the primary and secondary endpoints, compared with HCM patients with low entropy (p < 0.001 for both). In addition, Cox analysis showed that LV entropy provided significant prognostic value for predicting both primary and secondary endpoints (HR: 1.291 and 1.273, all p < 0.001). Addition of LV entropy to the multivariable model improved model performance and risk reclassification (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION LV entropy assessed by CMR was an independent predictor of primary and secondary endpoints. LV entropy assessment contributes to improved risk stratification in patients with HCM. CRITICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT Myocardial heterogeneity reflected by entropy the derived parameter of LGE has prognostic value for adverse events in HCM. The measurement of LV entropy helped to identify patients with HCM who were at risk for heart failure and sudden cardiac death. KEY POINTS • Left ventricular entropy can reflect myocardial heterogeneity in HCM patients. • Left ventricular entropy was significantly higher in HCM patients who reached endpoint events. • Left ventricular entropy helps to predict the occurrence of heart failure and death in HCM patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aimed to investigate the influence of microvascular impairment on myocardial characteristic alterations in remote myocardium at multiple time points, and its prognostic significance after acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). METHODS Patients were enrolled prospectively and performed CMR at baseline, 30 days, and 6 months. The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiac events (MACE): death, myocardial reinfarction, malignant arrhythmia, and hospitalization for heart failure. Cox proportional hazards regression modeling was analyzed to estimate the correlation between T1 mapping of remote myocardium and MACE in patients with and without microvascular obstruction (MVO). RESULTS A total of 135 patients (mean age 60.72 years; 12.70% female, median follow-up 510 days) were included, of whom 86 (63.70%) had MVO and 26 (19.26%) with MACE occurred in patients. Native T1 values of remote myocardium changed dynamically. At 1 week and 30 days, T1 values of remote myocardium in the group with MVO were higher than those without MVO (p = 0.030 and p = 0.001, respectively). In multivariable cox regression analysis of 135 patients, native1w T1 (HR 1.03, 95%CI 1.01-1.04, p = 0.002), native30D T1 (HR 1.05, 95%CI 1.03-1.07, p < 0.001) and LGE (HR 1.10, 95%CI 1.05-1.15, p < 0.001) were joint independent predictors of MACE. In multivariable cox regression analysis of 86 patients with MVO, native30D T1 (HR 1.05, 95%CI 1.04-1.07, p < 0.001) and LGE (HR 1.10, 95%CI 1.05-1.15, p < 0.001) were joint independent predictors of MACE. CONCLUSIONS The evolution of native T1 in remote myocardium was associated with the extent of microvascular impairment after reperfusion injury. In patients with MVO, native30D T1 and LGE were joint independent predictors of MACE.

Abstract
Lithocarpusdahuensis, a new Fagaceae species from Fujian Province, China, is described and illustrated. The new species is morphologically similar to L.konishii, but its oblanceolate leaf blade has more pairs of acute teeth on the margin, denser lateral veins, smaller cupules enclosing up to 1/4-1/3 of the nut, and its nut is only half as long as those of L.konishii. The plastome of L.dahuensis was 161,303 bp in length and displayed the typical quadripartite structure. Phylogenetic analyses distinguished L.dahuensis from L.konishii with strong support based on whole plastome and nrITS, respectively.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the levels of Th9 cells and interleukin-9 (IL-9), and to assess the regulatory activity of Th9/IL-9 to anti-tumor immune response in patients with gastric cancer. Methods: Thirty-four patients with gastric cancer who received operation in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University between October 2018 and August 2019 were included. Twenty individuals who received physical examination in the same period were also enrolled. Peripheral blood was collected, and then plasma and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated. Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and autologous gastric cancer cells were isolated from resected gastric cancer tissues. CD4(+) T cells, CD8(+) T cells, and CD4(+) CCR4(-)CCR6(-)CXCR3(-) cells were purified from PBMCs and TILs. Plasma IL-9 level was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The percentage of CD3(+) CD4(+) IL-9(+) Th9 cells in PBMCs and TILSs was assessed by flow cytometry. The mRNA levels of IL-9 and transcriptional factors purine-rich nucleic acid binding protein 1 (PU.1) were semi-quantified by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). PBMCs and TILs from gastric cancer patients were stimulated with recombinant human IL-9. Cellular proliferation was measured by cell counting kit-8. The phosphorylation levels of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and STAT6 were investigated by western blot. Cytokine production was measured by ELISA. Purified CD8(+) T cells from TILs of gastric cancer patients were stimulated with recombinant human IL-9. CD8(+) T cells and autologous gastric cancer cells were cocultured in direct contact and indirect contact manner. The percentage of target cell death was calculated by measuring the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) level. These cretion of γ-Interferon (γ-IFN) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) was measured by ELISA. CD4(+) CCR4(-)CCR6(-)CXCR3(-)cells, CD8(+) T cells, and autologous gastric cancer cells were directly cocultured, and anti-IL-9 neutralizing antibody was added. The target cell death was measured. Results: The percentages of CD3(+) CD4(+) IL-9(+) Th9 cells in PBMCs of control group and PBMCs of gastric cancer group were (1.21±0.25)% and (1.14±0.19)%, respectively. The difference was not statistically significant (P=0.280). The percentage of CD3(+) CD4(+) IL-9(+) Th9 cells in TILs of gastric cancer group was (2.30±0.55)%, which was higher than those in PBMCs of control group and PBMCs of gastric cancer group (P<0.001). The plasma IL-9 level in control group and gastric cancer group were (5.04±1.51) and (4.93±1.25) ng/ml. The difference was not statistically significant (P=0.787). The relative levels of IL-9 mRNA in PBMCs of control group and PBMCs of gastric cancer group were 1.33±0.39 and 1.36±0.27. The difference was not statistically significant (P=0.691). The relative level of IL-9 mRNA in TILs of gastric cancer group was 2.90±0.75, which was higher than those in PBMCs of control group (P<0.001) and PBMCs of gastric cancer group (P<0.001). The relative levels of PU.1 mRNA in PBMCs of control group and PBMCs of gastric cancer group were 1.21±0.12 and 1.20±0.11. The difference was not statistically significant (t=0.21, P=0.833). PU.1 mRNA relative level in TILs of gastric cancer group was 2.81±0.65, which was higher than those in PBMCs of control group (P<0.001) and PBMCs of gastric cancer group (P<0.001). Recombinant human IL-9 stimulation did not affect the proliferation of PBMCs and TILs of gastric cancer patients (P>0.05), but elevated the phosphorylation level of STAT6 and induced the secretions of γ-IFN, IL-17, and IL-22 by TILs (P<0.05). In direct contact culture system, IL-9 stimulation promoted tumor-infiltrating CD8(+) T cells-induced autologous gastric cancer cell death [(20.62±2.27)% vs. (16.08±2.61)%, P<0.01)]. In indirect contact culture system, IL-9 stimulation did not increase CD8(+) T cell-induced autologous gastric cancer cell death [(5.21±0.70)% vs. (5.31±1.22)%, P=0.998)]. However, the secretion levels of γ-IFN were elevated in response to IL-9 stimulation in both culture systems [direct contact culture system: (100.40±12.05) pg/ml vs. (76.45±8.56) pg/ml; indirect contact culture system: (78.00±9.98) pg/ml vs. (42.09±10.71) pg/ml; P<0.01]. The TNF-α secretion level did not significantly changed (P>0.05). In direct contact culture system, the percentage of target cells was (22.01±3.05) % and γ-IFN secretion level was (104.5±12.84) pg/ml in CD4(+) CCR4(-)CCR6(-)CXCR3(-) cells+ CD8(+) T cells+ gastric cancer cells group, which was higher than (16.08±2.61)% and (76.45±8.56) pg/ml in CD8(+) T cells+ gastric cancer cells group (P<0.01). However, the percentage of target cells was (14.47±3.14)% and γ-IFN secretion level was (70.45±19.43) pg/ml in CD4(+) CCR4(-)CCR6(-)CXCR3(-) cells+ CD8(+) T cells+ gastric cancer cells+ anti-IL-9 neutralizing antibody group, which were lower than those in CD4(+) CCR4(-)CCR6(-)CXCR3(-) cells+ CD8(+) T cells+ gastric cancer cells group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Tumor-infiltrating Th9 cells and the secreting IL-9 promote the activity of CD8(+) T cells in gastric cancer patients, and enhance anti-tumor immune response.

Abstract
Danxiaorchismangdangshanensis, a new mycoheterotrophic species from Fujian Province, China, is described and illustrated. The new species is morphologically similar to D.singchiana, but its callus of labellum is a less distinctive Y-shape with three auricles on the apex, four pollinia that are narrowly elliptic in shape and equal in size, and it lacks fine roots. The plastome of D.mangdangshanensis is highly degraded. Phylogenetic analyses distinguished D.mangdangshanensis from its congeners, D.singchiana and D.yangii, with strong support based on nrITS + matK and plastomes, respectively.

Abstract
We describe Polypleurumchinense, a new species of Podostemaceae from Yunxiao County, Fujian Province, China, based on morphological and molecular data and the genus Polypleurum is recorded here for the first time from China. Polypleurumchinense has a gross morphology similar to P.longistylosum, but it can be distinguished from the latter by its narrower roots, more numerous and longer leaves, shorter stigmas and more numerous ovules per locule. To distinguish the new Polypleurum species and study its phylogenetic position, its complete plastome was sequenced and characterised. The plastome is 132,110 bp in length, including a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 20,389 bp divided by the large single-copy (LSC) and small single-copy (SSC) regions of 79,022 bp and 12,310 bp, respectively. The plastome size of P.chinense is relatively smaller compared to most angiosperms due to the absence of the ycf1 and ycf2 genes in the IR regions. The phylogenetic analyses also strongly support the separation of the new species from other taxa.

Abstract
The new species Terniopsisyongtaiensis X.X. Su, Miao Zhang & Bing-Hua Chen, from Fujian Province, China, is described and illustrated. It is similar to T.heterostaminata from Thailand, but differs in its two fertile stamens, fewer but longer vegetative ramuli, fewer but shorter flowering ramuli, shorter pedicels, capsule-stalk and stamens. The complete chroloplast genome of the new species is 129,074 bp long and has a typical quadripartite structure, including two inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 18,504 bp in length, separated by a large single-copy (LSC) and a small single-copy (SSC) regions of 79,000 bp and 13,066 bp, respectively. The ycf1 and ycf2 genes were lost compared to most higher plants, leading to a substantial reduction in the IR. The phylogenetic analysis using both matK and nrITS revealed that T.yongtaiensis is sister to T.heterostaminata with moderate support, and formed a clade with other Terniopsis species, suggesting that the new species belongs to Tristichoideae.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of the cortical bone trajectory (CBT) screw fixation combined with midline lumbar fusion (MIDLF) for adjacent spondylopathy after posterior lumbar interbody fusion. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted in 16 patients, including 9 males and 7 females, with a mean age of (68±6) years, who underwent revision surgery for adjacent spondylopathy after posterior lumbar fusion surgery using CBT combined with MIDLF technology in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University from May 2013 to August 2019. The reasons for revision were radiculalgia in 4 cases, intermittent claudication in 10 cases and protrusive dissociate in 2 cases. Eleven cases had 1 segment fused in the first operation, while the other 5 cases received fusion in 2 segments. The average interval time between the first operation and the revision operation was (7.5±2.0) years. For the levels underwent revision, 1 case was L2/3, 6 cases were L3/4, 7 cases were L4/5 and 2 cases were L5/S1. Before the operation, all the patients took X-rays scans of the thoracic and lumbar spine. CT and MRI scans were also performed. The operation time, intraoperative bleeding, surgical complications, visual analog scale (VAS) of low back and leg pain before the operation and at each follow-up were all recorded. Oswestry disability index (ODI) questionnaire was used to evaluate the functional improvement of patients after the operation. Results: All operations were completed successfully. The operation time was 120-240 (170±30) mins, intraoperative bleeding was 100-280 (220±45) ml. One case had a slight split in the isthmus, and the screw was inserted smoothly after adjusting the insertion point. In one case, the cerebrospinal fluid leaked during the operation and was successfully treated with conservative methods including no pillow supine treatment and strengthened anti-infection. The average follow-up time was of (19.5±1.3) months. The VAS of low back pain was 2.9±1.7 before the operation and it was 1.8±0.5 at the last follow-up, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). The VAS of leg pain was 5.9±1.5 before the operation and it was 1.5±0.4 at the last the follow-up (P<0.01). The ODI score was 34.5±3.2 preoperatively and it decreased to 12.6±4.2 at the last follow-up, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: CBT technique combined with MIDLF for the adjacent-segment disease after posterior lumbar interbody fusion is minimally invasive and convenient, with good clinical effects. This technique can be used as an option for the revision of adjacent spondylopathy.

Abstract
A new species, Neottia wuyishanensis (Neottieae, Orchidaceae), is described and illustrated from Wuyishan, Fujian, eastern China, based on morphological characters and molecular data. Molecular phylogenetics indicate that N. wuyishanensis is nested within the clade formed by Neottia fugongensis and Neottia nujiangensis. Morphologically, N. wuyishanensis is similar to N. fugongensis and N. pseudonipponica, but differs from them by having indistinct auricles at the base, and in the shape and size of lobelets.

Abstract
Aims In order to determine acute cardiac involvement in patients with COVID-19, we quantitatively evaluated tissue characteristics and mechanics by non-invasive cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in a cohort of patients within the first 10 days of the onset of COVID symptoms. Methods and results Twenty-five patients with reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction confirmed COVID-19 and at least one marker of cardiac involvement [cardiac symptoms, abnormal electrocardiograph (ECG), or abnormal cardiac biomarkers] and 25 healthy age- and gender-matched control subjects were recruited to the study. Patients were divided into those with elevated (n = 8) or normal TnI (n = 17). There were significant differences in global longitudinal strain among patients who were positive and negative for hs-TnI, and controls [−12.3 (−13.3, −11.5)%, −13.1 (−14.2, −9.8)%, and −15.7 (−18.3, −12.7)%, P = 0.004]. Native myocardial T1 relaxation times in patients with positive and negative hs-TnI manifestation (1169.8 ± 12.9 and 1113.2 ± 31.2 ms) were significantly higher than the normal (1065 ± 57 ms) subjects, respectively (P < 0.001). The extracellular volume (ECV) of patients who were positive and negative for hs-TnI was higher than that of the normal controls [32 (31, 33)%, 29 (27, 30)%, and 26 (24, 27.5)%, P < 0.001]. In our study, quantitative T2 mapping in patients who were positive and negative for hs-TnI [51 (47.9, 52.8) and 48 (47, 49.4) ms] was significantly higher than the normal [42 (41, 45.2) ms] subjects (P < 0.001). Conclusion In patients with early-stage COVID-19, myocardial oedema, and functional abnormalities are a frequent finding, while irreversible regional injury such as necrosis may be infrequent.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES We sought to distinguish area at risk from salvage myocardial zone and to predict left ventricle functional recovery in the convalescent stage by Texture Analysis (TA) of T2-Mapping. METHODS One hundred and six patients diagnosed with AMI and treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) underwent acute cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and 45 of whom had a subsequent CMR scan following recovery. Cine imaging, T2-Mapping, T2-weighted STIR imaging, and LGE imaging were performed. In the texture analysis, regions of interest (infarcted, salvageable, and remote) were drawn by two blinded, independent readers. RESULTS Seven independent texture features on T2-Mapping were selected: Perc.50%, S(2,2)InvDfMom, S(2.-2)AngScMom, S(4,0)Entropy, 45dgrLngREmph, 45dgr_Fraction and 135dr_GLevNonU. Among them, the average value of 135dr_GLevNonU in the infarct zone, AAR zone, and the remote zone was: 61.96±26.03, 31.811±18.933 and 99.839±26.231, respectively. Additionally, 135dr_GLevNonU provided the highest area under the curve (AUC) from the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve) for distinguishing AAR from the infarct zone in each subgroup (all patients, patients with MVO and)were 0.845 ± 0.052 0.855 ± 0.083 and 0.845 ± 0.066, respectively, and were more promise than T2-Mapping mean (p<0.001). The AUC for differentiating AAR from the remote zone is 0.942±0.041. Texture features are not associated with convalescent decreased strain, ejection fraction (EF) or left ventricle remodeling (LVR) in analysis (p>0.05). CONCLUSION TA of T2-mapping can distinguish AAR from both the infarct zone and the remote myocardial zone without LGE imaging in reperfused AMI. However, these features are not able to predict patients' functional recovery in the convalescent stage.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the feasibility and diagnostic value of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) in the assessment of myocardial fibrosis in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients. METHODS Fifty-five HCM patients underwent IVIM diffusion-weighted cardiovascular resonance imaging; Cine, T1 mapping, IVIM and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) were performed. The relationship of strain, pre T1, extracellular volume (ECV), IVIM-derived parameters (D, D* and f) and LGE were analyzed based on 16 American Heart Association segments. Abnormal segments of myocardial fibrosis were defined as: the presence of LGE (LGE+) or ECV ≥ 29.6 %. RESULTS D parameter was significantly increased in LGE + vs LGE- (1.89 ± 0.14 μm2/ms vs. 1.63 ± 0.12 μm2/ms, p < 0.001) and ECV ≥ 29.6 % vs ECV < 29.6 % (1.84 ± 0.13 μm2/ms vs. 1.61 ± 0.12 μm2/ms, p < 0.001), respectively. D* and f parameters were significantly decreased in LGE + vs LGE- (D*: 34.9 ± 6.6 μm2/m vs 55.2 ± 11.4 μm2/m, p < 0.001; f: 10.8 ± 1.29 % vs 12.5 ± 1.26 %, p < 0.001) and ECV ≥ 29.6 % vs ECV < 29.6 % (D*: 37.5 ± 6.9 μm2/m vs 59.6 ± 9.2 μm2/m, p < 0.001; f: 10.9 ± 1.1 % vs 13.00 ± 1.0 %, p = 0.021), respectively. Moreover, significant correlations were demonstrated between D and ECV, as well as D* and f. CONCLUSIONS IVIM DW-CMR has proven to be ingenious in the investigation of myocardial fibrosis; D* and f parameters may have potential value to assess the perfusion status of fibrotic regions in HCM patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a disease with high morbidity and mortality worldwide and the evaluation of myocardial injury and perfusion status following myocardial ischemia and reperfusion is of clinical value. PURPOSE To assess the diagnostic utility of simplified perfusion fraction (SPF) in differentiating salvage and infarcted myocardium and its predictive value for left ventricular remodeling in patients with reperfusion ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). STUDY TYPE Prospective. POPULATION Forty-one reperfused STEMI patients and 20 healthy volunteers. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3.0T MRI. The MR examination included cine, T2 -short tau inversion recovery (T2 -STIR), first pass perfusiong (FPP),phase sensitive inversion recovery (PSIR), and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). ASSESSMENT SPF values among different myocardium regions (infarcted, salvaged, remote, and MVO) and stages of reperfused STEMI patients as well as normal controls were measured. The diagnostic utility of SPF values in differentiating salvaged and infarcted myocardium was assessed. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS Independent t-test and the Mann-Whitney U-test. Logistic regression. RESULTS SPF values in healthy controls were not significantly different than SPF values in the remote myocardium of patients (40.09 ± 1.47% vs. 40.28 ± 1.93%, P = 0.698). In reperfusion STEMI patients, SPF values were lower in infarcted myocardium compared to remote and salvaged myocardium (32.15 ± 2.36% vs. 40.28 ± 1.93%, P < 0.001; 32.15 ± 2.36% vs. 36.68 ± 2.71%, P < 0.001). SPF values of infarcted myocardium showed a rebound increase from acute to convalescent stages (32.15 ± 2.36% vs. 34.69 ± 3.69%, P < 0.001). When differentiating infarcted and salvaged myocardium, SPF values demonstrated an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.89 (sensitivity 85.4%, specificity 80.5%, cutoff 34.42%). Lower SPF values were associated with lower odds ratio (OR = 0.304) of left ventricular remodeling after adjusting for potential confounders with a confidence interval (CI) of 0.129-0.717, P = 0.007. DATA CONCLUSION SPF might be able to differentiate salvaged and infarcted myocardium and is a strong predictor of left ventricular remodeling in reperfused STEMI patients. Abstract
Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) has been confirmed to be associated with late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). In this context, we aimed to study whether DWI could reflect the active tissue injury and edema information of HCM which were usually indicated by T2 weighted images. Forty HCM patients were examined using a 3.0 T magnetic resonance scanner. Cine, T2-weighted short tau inversion recovery (T2-STIR), DWI and LGE sequences were acquired. T1 mapping was also included to quantify the focal and diffuse fibrosis. Cardiac troponin I (cTnI) was tested to assess the recently myocardial injury. Student's t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, One-way analysis, Kruskal-Wallis analysis, the Spearman correlation analysis, and multivariable regression were used in this study. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) was significantly elevated in the cTnI positive group (P = 0.01) and correlated with LGE (ρ = 0.312, P = 0.049) and HighT2 extent (ρ = 0.443, P = 0.004) in the global level. In the segmental analysis, the ADC significantly differentiated the segments with and without HighT2/LGE presence (P = 0.00). The average ADC values were higher in segments with HighT2 and LGE coexistence than in those with only LGE presence (P < 0.05). Multivariable regression indicated that segmental HighT2 and LGE were both contributing factors to the ADC values. In this study of HCM, we confirmed that ADC as a molecular diffusion parameter reflects the replacement fibrosis of myocardium. Moreover, it also reveals edema extent and its association with serum cTnI.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the mechanism of epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EET) on renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R). Methods: Thirty 10-week male C57BL6 mice were randomly divided into five groups: sham goup, I/R group, I/R with EET group, I/R with toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) inhibitor (TAK242) group, I/R with EET and TAK242 group. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (Scr) as well as renal pathological changes were observed 24 h after reperfusion. The protein expression of NOD-like receptor pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3), cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase 1 (caspase-1), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), TLR4 and myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88) were evaluated using Western blot. Results: Severe renal tubular epithelial cell injury and decreased renal function [BUN:(10.37±0.53) vs (6.70±0.82)mmol/L, t=9.17, P<0.001; Scr: (83.67±3.88) vs (32.50±3.51)μmol/L, t=23.96, P<0.001] occurred in I/R group. Compared to the sham group, the relative expression of NLRP3 (1.54±0.10 vs 0.71±0.05, t=13.14, P<0.001), caspase-1 (2.35±0.05 vs 0.62±0.02, t=73.77, P<0.001), IL-1β (3.11±0.11 vs 1.26±0.05, t=35.97, P<0.001), TLR4 (1.58±0.03 vs 0.39±0.01, t=86.00, P<0.001), MyD88 (0.94±0.02 vs 0.26±0.01, t=72.61, P<0.001) were significantly increased. Mice pretreated with EET analog featured lower kidney damage and diminished levels of above proteins than I/R group (all P<0.001). Besides, the co-administration of TAK242 and EET analog could even markedly reduced the expression levels of each proteins than those in I/R group and I/R with EET group (all P<0.001). Conclusion: EET exerts a protective effect on attenuating renal I/R injury possibly through inhibiting TLR4 pathway to regulate the activation of NLRP3-induced pyroptosis.

Abstract
The magnetic glassy state is a fascinating phenomenon, which results from the kinetic arrest of the first order magnetic phase transition. Interesting properties, such as metastable magnetization and nonequilibrium magnetic phases, are naturally developed in the magnetic glassy state. Here, we report magnetic glass property in the low spin state of Co3+ in EuBaCo2O5+δ (δ = 0.47) cobaltite at low temperature (T < 60 K). The measurements of magnetization under the cooling and heating in unequal fields, magnetization relaxation and thermal cycling of magnetization show the kinetic arrest of low magnetization state below 60 K. The kinetically arrested low temperature magnetic phase is further supported through the study of isothermal magnetic entropy, which shows the significant entropy change. The present results will open a new window to search the microscopic relation between the spin state transitions and the kinetic arrest induced magnetic glassy phenomena in complex materials.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The relationship between dynamic changes of myocardial injury in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients and long-term prognosis is still unclear. PURPOSE To evaluate the extracellular volume fraction (ECV) in the differentiation of reversible from irreversible myocardial injury and the prediction value of left ventricular adverse remodeling in patients with STEMI after reperfusion. STUDY TYPE Prospective. POPULATION Twenty-four STEMI patients after reperfusion were included FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE: 3.0 T, T1 mapping, ECV, T2 -STIR, and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). ASSESSMENT All the patients underwent cardiac MRI at four timepoints (days 1, 3, and 7, and at 6 months). The regions of interest (ROIs) were selected at the infarcted myocardium (with/without intramyocardial hemorrhage [IMH] and microvascular obstruction [MVO]). STATISTICAL TESTS One-way analysis of variance and the Kruskal-Wallis test were used for the statistical analysis. RESULTS Native T1 of MI (without MVO/IMH) gradually decreased after reperfusion (P < 0.05). The ECV of MI increased during the first 3 days and then slowly declined. Native T1 of MI with MVO/IMH was the lowest (1184 msec; 1108.5-1266), while ECV (78%; 65.5-87%) was the highest, P < 0.001. Native T1 and ECV of salvageable myocardium were higher than those of the remote myocardium but lower than those of the MI without MVO or IMH (P < 0.001). ROC analysis revealed an area under the curve (AUC) of ECV (0.85, P < 0.001) for differentiating infarcted and salvageable myocardium was higher than that of native T1 mapping (AUC: 0.63, P < 0.001) in the first week after STEMI (P < 0.0001). T1 and ECV differed significantly between patients with and without left ventricle adverse remodeling (P < 0.05). DATA CONCLUSION Dynamic temporal changes in reversibly and irreversibly damaged myocardia were differentiated via native T1 and ECV mapping after primary percutaneous coronary intervention in STEMI patients. ECV may better reflect microvascular injury severity and myocardial viability. MI with higher native T1 and ECV or with severe microvascular injury (MVO and IMH) was correlated with adverse LV remodeling. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 2 Technical Efficacy Stage: 2 J. Magn. Reson. Abstract
The association between global and segmental myocardial strain impairment and fibrosis extent in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is widely verified. The aim of this study was to investigate the contribution of high T2-weighted signal intensity (HighT2) to myocardial deformation in HCM. We prospectively recruited 57 patients with HCM examined by a 3.0 Tesla magnetic resonance scanner with cine, T2-weighted imaging with fat saturation and phase-sensitive inversion recovery. Global and segmental radial, circumferential and longitudinal strains were included for analysis. The extent of HighT2 was negatively correlated with global radial strain (ρ = −0.275, p = 0.038) and positively correlated with global circumferential strain (ρ = 0.308, p = 0.02) and global longitudinal strain (ρ = 0.422, p = 0.001). Radial, circumferential and longitudinal strains were all significantly associated with segment thickness. Regarding circumferential strain, segments at the mid-ventricular level with LGE and HighT2 showed more impairment than segments with only LGE. For longitudinal strain, the influence of HighT2 appeared only at the mid-ventricular level. The HighT2 extent in HCM was observed to contribute to global and segmental strain parameters. At the segmental level, HighT2 indeed affects left ventricular deformation, and follow-up studies are still warranted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The use of native T1 mapping for evaluation of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is being explored, and its combination with histogram analysis may benefit the accuracy of such assessments. PURPOSE To investigate the relationship of segmental left ventricular wall thickness (LVWT), myocardial fibrosis, and strain parameters with segmental histogram parameters of native T1 mapping in HCM patients. STUDY TYPE Retrospective. SUBJECTS Ninety-three HCM patients without previous cardiovascular diseases were included. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3.0T cardiac MR. Steady-state free precession cine imaging, modified Look-Locker inversion recovery, phase-sensitive inversion recovery. ASSESSMENT Images were assessed by three experienced radiologists. STATISTICAL TESTS Mann-Whitney U-tests, area under the curve (AUC), Spearman's rank correlation, intraclass correlation coefficient, and Bland-Altman test were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS A higher LVWT value correlated with higher means, minimums, 10th /25th /50th /75th /90th percentiles, maximums, kurtosis, entropy, and lower SD and energy of T1 mapping (P < 0.05 for all), with the correlation being stronger for entropy and energy (Spearman's rho = 0.439 and -0.413, respectively) than other parameters. Late gadolinium enhancement positive (LGE+) segments exhibited higher mean, minimum, 10th /25th /50th /75th /90th percentiles, maximum, entropy, and lower energy of T1 times than late gadolinium enhancement negative (LGE-) segments (P < 0.001 for all). Impaired strain function parameters (peak thickening and thickening rate in radial, circumferential, and longitudinal directions) demonstrated a weak correlation with higher entropy (P < 0.001 for all) and lower energy (P < 0.001 for all). DATA CONCLUSION Histogram parameters of native T1 mapping provide more information than mean T1 times alone. Among these parameters, entropy and energy may correlate better with LVWT, myocardial late gadolinium enhancement, and strain parameters than mean T1 times in HCM patients. Abstract
OBJECTIVES BOLD imaging is a quantitative MRI technique allowing the evaluation of the balance between supply/demand in myocardial oxygenation and myocardial haemorrhage. We sought to investigate the ability of BOLD imaging to differentiate reversible from irreversible myocardial injury as well as the chronological progression of myocardial oxygenation after reperfusion in patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). METHODS Twenty-two patients (age, 60 ± 11 years; 77.3% male) with STEMI underwent cardiac MRIs on four occasions: on days 1, 3, 7 and 30 after reperfusion. BOLD MRI was obtained with a multi-echo turbo field echo (TFE) sequence on a 3-T scanner to assess myocardial oxygenation in MI. RESULTS T2* value in MI with intramyocardial haemorrhage (IMH) was the lowest (9.77 ± 3.29 ms), while that of the salvaged zone was the highest (33.97 ± 3.42 ms). T2* values in salvaged myocardium demonstrated a unimodal temporal pattern from days 1 (37.91 ± 2.23 ms) to 30 (30.68 ± 1.59 ms). T2* values in the MI regions were significantly lower than those in remote myocardium, although the trends in both were constant overall. There was a slightly positive correlation between T2* in MI regions and EF (Rho = 0.27, p < 0.05) or SV (Rho = 0.22, p = 0.04) and a slightly negative correlation between T2* in salvaged myocardium and LVEDV (Rho = - 0.23, p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS BOLD MRI performed in post-STEMI patients allows accurate evaluation of myocardial damage severity and could differentiate reversible from irreversible myocardial injury. The increased T2* values may imply the pathophysiological mechanism of salvaged myocardium. BOLD MRI could represent a more accurate alternative to the other currently available options. Abstract
BACKGROUND BOLD (blood oxygen level dependent) MRI can detect regional condition of myocardial oxygen supply and demand by means of paramagnetic properties. PURPOSE Noninvasive assessment of myocardial oxygenation by BOLD MRI in hypertensive patients with hypertension (HTN) left ventricular myocardial hypertrophy (LVMH) and HTN non-LVMH and its correlation with myocardial mechanics were performed. STUDY TYPE Prospective. POPULATION Twenty patients with HTN LVMH, 21 patients with HTN non-LVMH, and 23 normotensive controls were enrolled. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE Cine imaging, T2* and T1 mapping sequences were achieved at 3.0T. ASSESSMENT Dedicated T1 mapping, T2*, and cine imaging analysis were performed by two radiologists using cvi42. STATISTICAL TESTS One-way analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis test, Bland-Altman analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Spearman's rank correlation. RESULTS T2* values of HTN LVMH group were significantly lower versus the controls (23.78 ± 3.09 versus 30.77 ± 2.71; P < 0.001) and HTN non-LVMH group (23.78 ± 3.09 versus 28.64 ± 4.23; P < 0.001). Left ventricular peak circumferential strain were reduced in HTN LVMH patients compared with other two groups (-11.32 [-15.64, -10.3], -16.78 [-19.35, -15.34], and -19.73 [-20.57, -18.73]; P < 0.05); and longitudinal strain of HTN LVMH patients were lower than other two groups (-11.31 ± 2.91, -15.1 ± 3.06, and -18.85 ± 1.85; P < 0.05); radial strain of HTN LVMH patients were also lower than other two groups (25.03 ± 16, 40.95 ± 17.5 and 47.9 ± 10.23; P < 0.05). Extracellular volume correlated with peak circumferential, longitudinal, and radial strain (spearman rho = 0.6, 0.64, and -0.69; P < 0.05), respectively; T2* negatively correlated with peak circumferential and longitudinal strain (spearman rho = -0.43 and -0.49; P < 0.05), respectively. Patients with lower T2* values had significant decreases in myocardial mechanics (P < 0.05). DATA CONCLUSION HTN LVMH patients have both impaired myocardial mechanics and decreased T2* values compared with HTN non-LVMH and normotensive groups. BOLD MRI could provide a feasible assessment modality for detecting altered T2* due to the change of de-oxygenated hemoglobin and hence to the change of signal intensity in oxygenation-sensitive images. Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous studies have shown that diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is sensitive to myocardial fibrosis in ischemic and nonischemic cardiomyopathy. PURPOSE To explore the prognostic value of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) for detecting myocardial fibrosis and its relationship to the contractile function in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). STUDY TYPE Prospective. POPULATION A total of 45 HCM patients and 20 controls. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3.0T cardiac MRI. The cardiac MR sequences included cine, T1 mapping, and DWI. ASSESSMENT According to the presence of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and the extracellular volume (ECV) values (+2 SD of control subjects), respectively, reader W and reader J assessed the value of ADC of each segment for detecting myocardial fibrosis and its relationship to impaired contractile function in HCM patients. STATISTICAL TESTS Independent sample t-test, Pearson analysis, and intraclass correlation (ICC). RESULTS The value of ECV was 23.6 ± 3.0% for control. ECV ≥ 29.6% and ECV < 29.6% groups were classified. ADC values in the ECV ≥ 29.6% group were significantly increased compared to the ECV < 29.6% group, (2.41 ± 0.23 μm2 /ms vs. 2.03 ± 0.16 μm2 /ms, P < 0.005). Compared to the LGE - group, ECV (32.1 ± 2.3% vs. 29.0 ± 2.8%, P < 0.005) and ADC (2.60 ± 0.18 μm2 /ms vs. 2.10 ± 0.07 μm2 /ms, P < 0.005) values were significantly increased in the LGE + group. ADC values were linearly associated with ECV values (R2 = 0.65) in HCM patients. ADC values were linearly associated with circumferential and longitudinal strain (R2 = 0.60, R2 = 0.46), as well as circumferential, longitudinal, and radial strain rate (R2 = 0.13, R2 = 0.25, R2 = 0.17, respectively). DATA CONCLUSION Contractile dysfunction in HCM is predominantly associated with ADC, which is a feasible alternative to ECV and LGE for detecting myocardial fibrosis. Abstract
Lycium barbarum L., a traditional Chinese herb widely used in Asian countries, has been demonstrated to be protective against chronic diseases such as age-related macular degeneration. The objectives of this study were to determine the carotenoid content in L. barbarum by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, followed by preparation of a carotenoid nanoemulsion to evaluate the mechanism of inhibition on HT-29 colon cancer cells. The highest extraction yield of carotenoids was attained by employing a solvent system of hexane-ethanol-acetone (1:1:1, v/v/v). Nine carotenoids, including neoxanthin (4.47 μg g-1), all-trans-zeaxanthin and its cis-isomers (1666.3 μg g-1), all-trans-β-cryptoxanthin (51.69 μg g-1), all-trans-β-carotene and its cis-isomers (20.11 μg g-1), were separated within 45 min and quantified using a YMC C30 column and a gradient mobile phase of methanol-water (9:1, v/v) (A) and methylene chloride (B). A highly stable carotenoid nanoemulsion composed of CapryolTM 90, Transcutol®HP, Tween 80 and deionized water was prepared with a mean particle size of 15.1 nm. Characterization of zeaxanthin standard, blank nanoemulsion, carotenoid extract and carotenoid nanoemulsion by differential scanning calorimetry curves and Fourier transform infrared spectra revealed a good dispersion of zeaxanthin-dominated carotenoid extract with no significant chemical change after incorporation into nanoemulsion. The in vitro release kinetic study showed a higher release profile at pH 5.2 than at physiological pH 7.4, suggesting a rapid release of carotenoids in the acidic environment (pH 4.5-6.5) characteristic of tumors. Both the carotenoid nanoemulsion and the extract were effective at inhibiting growth of HT-29 colon cancer cells, with an IC50 of 4.5 and 4.9 μg ml-1, respectively. Also, both treatments could up-regulate p53 and p21 expression and down-regulate CDK2, CDK1, cyclin A and cyclin B expression and arrest the cell cycle at G2/M. The study may form a basis for further exploration of L. barbarum nanoemulsion in cancer treatment.

Abstract
Danshen (Salvia miltiorrhiza), a Chinese medicinal herb, consists of several functional components including tanshinones responsible for prevention of several chronic diseases. This study intends to prepare tanshinone extract and nanoemulsion from danshen and determine their inhibition effect on lung cancer cells A549. A highly stable tanshinone nanoemulsion composed of Capryol 90, Tween 80, ethanol and deionized water with the mean particle size of 14.2 nm was successfully prepared. Tanshinone nanoemulsion was found to be more effective in inhibiting A549 proliferation than tanshinone extract. Both nanoemulsion and extract could penetrate into cytoplasm through endocytosis, with the former being more susceptible than the latter. A dose-dependent response in up-regulation of p-JNK, p53 and p21 and down-regulation of CDK2, cyclin D1 and cyclin E1 expressions was observed with the cell cycle arrested at G0/G1 phase. The cellular microcompartment change of A549 was also investigated. The study demonstrated that tanshinone nanoemulsion may be used as a botanic drug for treatment of lung cancer.

Abstract
To identify myocardial fibrosis in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) subjects using quantitative cardiac diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and to compare its performance with native T1 mapping and extracellular volume (ECV). Thirty-eight HCM subjects (mean age, 53 ± 9 years) and 14 normal controls (mean age, 51 ± 8 years) underwent cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) on a 3.0T magnetic resonance (MR) machine with DWI, T1 mapping and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) imaging as the reference standard. The mean apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), native T1 value and ECV were determined for each subject. Overall, the HCM subjects exhibited an increased native T1 value (1241.04 ± 78.50 ms), ECV (0.31 ± 0.03) and ADC (2.36 ± 0.34 s/mm(2)) compared with the normal controls (1114.60 ± 37.99 ms, 0.24 ± 0.04, and 1.62 ± 0.38 s/mm(2), respectively) (p < 0.05). DWI differentiated healthy and fibrotic myocardia with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.93, while the AUCs of the native T1 values (0.93), (p > 0.05) and ECV (0.94), (p > 0.05) exhibited an equal differentiation ability. Both HCM LGE+ and HCM LGE- subjects had an increased native T1 value, ECV and ADC compared to the normal controls (p < 0.05). HCM LGE+ subjects exhibited an increased ECV (0.31 ± 0.04) and ADC (2.43 ± 0.36 s/mm(2)) compared to HCM LGE- subjects (p < 0.05). HCM LGE+ and HCM LGE- subjects had similar native T1 values (1250 ± 76.36 ms vs. 1213.98 ± 92.30 ms, respectively) (p > 0.05). ADC values were linearly associated with increased ECV (R(2) = 0.36) and native T1 values (R(2) = 0.40) among all subjects. DWI is a feasible alternative to native T1 mapping and ECV for the identification of myocardial fibrosis in patients with HCM. DWI and ECV can quantitatively characterize the extent of fibrosis in HCM LGE+ and HCM LGE- patients.

Abstract
We investigate the magnetic, thermal, and dielectric properties of SrCuTe2O6, which is isostructural to PbCuTe2O6, a recently found, Cu-based 3D frustrated magnet with a corner-sharing triangular spin network having dominant first and second nearest neighbor (nn) couplings (Koteswararao et al 2014 Phys. Rev. B 90 035141). Although SrCuTe2O6 has a structurally similar spin network, the magnetic data exhibit the characteristic features of a typical quasi-1D magnet, which mainly resulted from the magnetically dominant third nn coupling, uniform chains. The magnetic properties of this system are studied via magnetization (M), heat capacity (C p ), dielectric constant ([Formula: see text]), and measurements along with ab initio band structure calculations. The magnetic susceptibility [Formula: see text] data show a broad maximum at 32 K and the system orders at low temperatures [Formula: see text] K and [Formula: see text] K, respectively. The analysis of the [Formula: see text] data gives an intra-chain coupling, [Formula: see text], to be about ≈ - 42 K with non-negligible frustrated inter-chain couplings ([Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]). The hopping parameters obtained from the LDA band structure calculations also suggest the presence of coupled uniform chains. The observation of simultaneous anomalies in [Formula: see text] at [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] suggests the presence of a magneto-dielectric effect in SrCuTe2O6. A magnetic phase diagram is also built based on the M, C p , and [Formula: see text] results.

Abstract
Background Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2) have been shown to be a novel therapeutic in many biomedical applications. Gold (Au) nanoparticles have also attracted widespread interest due to their chemical stability and unique optical properties. Thus, decorating Au on CeO2 nanoparticles would have potential for exploitation in the biomedical field. Methods In the present work, CeO2 nanoparticles synthesized by a chemical combustion method were supported with 3.5% Au (Au/CeO2) by a deposition-precipitation method. The as-synthesized Au, CeO2, and Au/CeO2 nanoparticles were evaluated for antibacterial activity and cytotoxicity in RAW 264.7 normal cells and A549 lung cancer cells. Results The as-synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, and ultraviolet-visible measurements. The X-ray diffraction study confirmed the formation of cubic fluorite-structured CeO2 nanoparticles with a size of 10 nm. All synthesized nanoparticles were nontoxic towards RAW 264.7 cells at doses of 0–1,000 μM except for Au at >100 μM. For A549 cancer cells, Au/CeO2 had the highest inhibitory effect, followed by both Au and CeO2 which showed a similar effect at 500 and 1,000 μM. Initial binding of nanoparticles occurred through localized positively charged sites in A549 cells as shown by a shift in zeta potential from positive to negative after 24 hours of incubation. A dose-dependent elevation in reactive oxygen species indicated that the pro-oxidant activity of the nanoparticles was responsible for their cytotoxicity towards A549 cells. In addition, cellular uptake seen on transmission electron microscopic images indicated predominant localization of nanoparticles in the cytoplasmic matrix and mitochondrial damage due to oxidative stress. With regard to antibacterial activity, both types of nanoparticles had the strongest inhibitory effect on Bacillus subtilis in monoculture systems, followed by Salmonella enteritidis, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus, while, in coculture tests with Lactobacillus plantarum, S. aureus was inhibited to a greater extent than the other bacteria. Conclusion Gold-supported CeO2 nanoparticles may be a potential nanomaterial for in vivo application owing to their biocompatible and antibacterial properties.

Abstract
The co-infection of rice caused by southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV) and rice ragged stunt virus (RRSV) was widely found at many regions, such as Yunnan Province, China, and North and Central Vietnam. These rice viral diseases lead to seriously yield loss of rice. In this study, the proteomics technology of shotgun and label free combined with multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) was developed to detect rice sample of a single or/and co-infection. The shotgun assay indicated that some proteins coded by SRBSDV and RRSV were detected via the mode of in-gel digestion, except for P5-2, P7-2 and P9-2 of SRBSDV and P4b, P5, P6, P8a and P8b of RRSV. The technology of label free combined with MRM indicated that P2, P5-1, P4, P8, P7-1, P6, P9-1 and P10 of SRBSDV and P1, P3 and P9 of RRSV were higher abundance in rice plant, and P5-2, P7-2 and P9-2 of SRBSDV and P4b and P5 of RRSV were lower abundance in viruliferous-rice plant. So SRBSDV P9-1 and RRSV P3 was selected as marker molecule to be used in detection technology, and the label free combined with MRM technology was established to detect two kinds of rice virus.

Abstract
Magnetite nanoparticles coated with an anionic biopolymer poly(γ-glutamic acid) (PGA-MNPs) were synthesized and characterized for their methylene blue dye adsorption capability. Both bare- and dye-loaded PGA-MNPs were characterized by FTIR, TEM and VSM measurements, revealing the PGA-MNPs to be superparamagnetic with average particle diameter being 12.4 nm and magnetization value 59.2 emu/g. The synthesized PGA-MNPs were stable in deionized, tap and river waters as well as in acidic and basic media. Redlich-Peterson and Langmuir models precisely described the isotherm and the maximum adsorption capacity was 78.67 mg/g. A pseudo-second-order equation best predicted the kinetics with a maximum adsorption attained within 5 min. Incorporation of sodium or calcium ions reduced the dye adsorption, while a raise in pH enhanced adsorption and a complete desorption occurred at pH 1.0. Dye removal mechanism by PGA-MNPs was probably due to electrostatic interaction through exchange of protons from side-chain α-carboxyl groups on PGA-MNPs surface.
