Abstract
The small ultrared fluorescent protein (smURFP) is a bright near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent protein (FP) that forms a dimer and binds its fluorescence chromophore, biliverdin, at its dimer interface. To engineer a monomeric NIR FP based on smURFP potentially more suitable for bioimaging, we employed protein design to extend the protein backbone with a new segment of two helices that shield the original dimer interface while covering the biliverdin binding pocket in place of the second chain in the original dimer. We experimentally characterized 13 designs and obtained a monomeric protein with a weak fluorescence. We enhanced the fluorescence of this designed protein through two rounds of directed evolution and obtained designed monomeric smURFP (DMsmURFP), a bright, stable, and monomeric NIR FP with a molecular weight of 19.6 kDa. We determined the crystal structures of DMsmURFP both in the apo state and in complex with biliverdin, which confirmed the designed structure. The use of DMsmURFP in in vivo imaging of mammalian systems was demonstrated. The backbone design-based strategy used here can also be applied to monomerize other naturally multimeric proteins with intersubunit functional sites.

Abstract
The Gongxin River is one of the main rivers in the Dashan Region of Anhui Province in China, which is a Se-rich and high-Cd area, but no research has focused on the concentration, source, antagonism, and health risks of Se and TMs in fish. In this study, 120 fish samples (14 species), 24 sediment samples, and 24 water samples were collected to investigate the antagonistic effects, sources, and health risks of TMs and Se in fish from a typical selenium-rich and high cadmium region. Zn and Se in fish from the Gongxin River were higher than in the background, which might be attributed to the different feeding habits of different fish species. The apparent antagonism between Se and Cu, Pb, and Cd was explored, and the results showed that 30%, 75%, and 100% of the Se/Cu, Se/Pb, and Se/Cd ratios were greater than one, indicating that Cu, Pb, and Cd in fish might be combined with or detoxicated by Se. The source analysis of the elements showed that the geological background was the source of TMs and Se in fish samples. The amounts of Se and TMs were all within China's acceptable level guidelines, signifying no harm to citizens from eating fish.

Abstract
Objective: To summarize the clinical, radiological characteristics, and prognosis of infectious sacroiliitis in children. Methods: A case-control study was conducted, including 12 cases of infectious sacroiliitis diagnosed in the Rheumatology and Immunology Department of the Children's Hospital affiliated with the Capital Institute of Pediatrics from June 2018 to June 2023. These cases comprised the case group. Concurrently, 28 cases of pediatric idiopathic arthritis involving the sacroiliac joint in the same department served as the control group. Basic patient information, clinical features, laboratory parameters, and clinical treatment outcomes for both groups were collected and analyzed. Independent sample t-tests and chi-squared tests were used for inter-group comparisons. Results: Among the 12 cases in the case group, there were 5 males and 7 females, with a disease duration of 0.8 (0.5, 1.2) months. Nine patients presented with fever, and 1 patient had limping gait. Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B27 positivity was observed in 1 case, and there was no family history of ankylosing spondylitis. In the control group of 28 cases, there were 19 males and 9 females, with a disease duration of 7.0 (3.0, 17.0) months. One patient (4%) had fever, and 14 cases (50%) exhibited limping gait. HLA-B27 positivity was found in 18 cases (64%), and 18 cases (64%) had a family history of ankylosing spondylitis. The case group had higher white blood cell count (WBC), neutrophil ratio, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP) levels, as well as a higher proportion of unilateral involvement on magnetic resonance imaging and bone destruction on CT compared to the control group ((11.1±6.2)×109 vs. (7.3±2.3)×109/L, 0.64±0.10 vs. 0.55±0.12, 72 (34, 86) vs. 18 (5, 41) mm/1 h, 24.6 (10.1, 67.3) mg/L vs. 3.6 (0.8, 15.0) mg/L, 11/12 vs. 36% (10/28), 9/12 vs. 11% (3/28), t=2.90, 3.07, Z=-2.94, -3.28, χ2=10.55, 16.53, all P<0.05). Conclusions: Pediatric infectious sacroiliitis often presents as unilateral involvement with a short disease history. Elevated WBC, CRP, and ESR, as well as a high rate of bone destruction, are also common characteristics.

Abstract
CD8+ invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells are functionally different from other iNKT cells and are enriched in human but not in mouse. To date, their developmental pathway and molecular basis for fate decision remain unclear. Here, we report enrichment of CD8+ iNKT cells in neonatal mice due to their more rapid maturation kinetics than CD8- iNKT cells. Along developmental trajectories, CD8+ and CD8- iNKT cells separate at stage 0, following stage 0 double-positive iNKT cells, and differ in HIVEP3 expression. HIVEP3 is lowly expressed in stage 0 CD8+ iNKT cells and negatively controls their development, whereas it is highly expressed in stage 0 CD8- iNKT cells and positively controls their development. Despite no effect on IFN-γ, HIVEP3 inhibits granzyme B but promotes interleukin-4 production in CD8+ iNKT cells. Together, we reveal that, as a negative regulator for CD8+ iNKT fate decision, low expression of HIVEP3 in stage 0 CD8+ iNKT cells favors their development and T helper 1-biased cytokine responses as well as high cytotoxicity.

Abstract
Quinoa bran is a by-product during quinoa processing, which is not well used due to its high content of antinutritional factors. The nutritional, antinutritional, antioxidative and mineral content were analyzed in quinoa bran from five producing areas (Hebei, Shanxi, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia and Gansu Province) in China. The results showed that the mean values of protein, starch, fat, fiber, reducing sugar, ash, moisture and energy in quinoa bran were 9.35%, 47.37%, 8.26%, 10.74%, 3.68%, 6.25%, 9.29% and 360.2 kcal/100 g, respectively. Although the protein content in quinoa bran is lower than that in quinoa grain, it is comparable to that in other grains (rice, corn, millet and sorghum) and brans (wheat, oat and rice), so it has the commercial potential to be processed into animal feed or other edible food. The contents of antioxidant flavonoids (460.9 mg/100g) and polyphenols (477.8 mg/100 g) in quinoa bran were higher than those in quinoa grain, suggesting that quinoa bran had better antioxidant capacity. The contents of saponins, tannins and phytic acid in quinoa bran were 18.65, 0.30 and 0.73%, respectively. The content of saponins was nearly one times higher than that in quinoa grain, the contents of tannins and phytic acid, however, were lower than those in quinoa grain. Therefore, the removal of saponins is the key to eliminate the antinutritional properties of quinoa bran. The contents of macroelements (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus) and microelements (iron, manganese, copper, zinc, cobalt, molybdenum, selenium, barium) in quinoa bran were generally higher than those in quinoa grain, which was consistent with the results of ash determination. In summary, quinoa bran was found to be a rich source of nutritional and bioactive components and minerals. If the antinutritional problem can be overcome, quinoa bran has great potential for application in the food industry.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aimed to investigate the influence of microvascular impairment on myocardial characteristic alterations in remote myocardium at multiple time points, and its prognostic significance after acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). METHODS Patients were enrolled prospectively and performed CMR at baseline, 30 days, and 6 months. The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiac events (MACE): death, myocardial reinfarction, malignant arrhythmia, and hospitalization for heart failure. Cox proportional hazards regression modeling was analyzed to estimate the correlation between T1 mapping of remote myocardium and MACE in patients with and without microvascular obstruction (MVO). RESULTS A total of 135 patients (mean age 60.72 years; 12.70% female, median follow-up 510 days) were included, of whom 86 (63.70%) had MVO and 26 (19.26%) with MACE occurred in patients. Native T1 values of remote myocardium changed dynamically. At 1 week and 30 days, T1 values of remote myocardium in the group with MVO were higher than those without MVO (p = 0.030 and p = 0.001, respectively). In multivariable cox regression analysis of 135 patients, native1w T1 (HR 1.03, 95%CI 1.01-1.04, p = 0.002), native30D T1 (HR 1.05, 95%CI 1.03-1.07, p < 0.001) and LGE (HR 1.10, 95%CI 1.05-1.15, p < 0.001) were joint independent predictors of MACE. In multivariable cox regression analysis of 86 patients with MVO, native30D T1 (HR 1.05, 95%CI 1.04-1.07, p < 0.001) and LGE (HR 1.10, 95%CI 1.05-1.15, p < 0.001) were joint independent predictors of MACE. CONCLUSIONS The evolution of native T1 in remote myocardium was associated with the extent of microvascular impairment after reperfusion injury. In patients with MVO, native30D T1 and LGE were joint independent predictors of MACE.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the surgical outcome of robotic thyroidectomy through transoral approach and the bilateral breast-axillary approach. Methods: Retrospective analysis was made on the clinical data of patients who performed transoral robotic thyroidectomy (TORT group) or bilateral breast-axillary approach (BABA group) in the Department of Thyroid and Breast Surgery, the 960th Hospital of People's Liberation Army from July 2020 to May 2022. Both groups received lobectomy with lymph node dissection of the central region. A total of 100 cases were included in the study, including 48 cases in the TORT group and 52 cases in the BABA group. The propensity score matching method was used for 1∶1 matching of patients between the 2 groups, with a match tolerance of 0.03. There were 31 patients in each group successfully matched. In the TORT group, there were 5 males and 26 females, aged (33.2±7.9) years (range: 21 to 53 years). While there were 4 males and 27 females in the BABA group, aged (34.6±9.2) years (range: 19 to 58 years). The t test, Mann-Whitney U test, χ2 test or Fisher exact test were used to compare the clinical efficacy between the two groups. Results: All the patients successfully completed robotic thyroid surgery without conversion to open surgery. Compared with BABA group, the TORT group had longer operation time ((211.3±57.2) minutes vs. (126.2±37.8) minutes, t=6.915, P<0.01), shorter drainage tube retention time ((5.4±1.0) days vs. (6.4±1.2) days, t=-3.544, P=0.001), shorter total hospital stay ((6.6±1.2) days vs. (7.4±1.3) days, t=-2.353, P=0.022), and higher cosmetic score (9.46±0.25 vs. 9.27±0.26, t=2.925, P=0.005). There was no significant difference between the two groups in the number of lymph nodes dissection, metastasis in the central compartment, and the incidence of postoperative complications (all P>0.05). Conclusions: Compared with the bilateral breast-axillary approach, the transoral vestibular approach of robotic thyroidectomy is also safe and effective. It shows similar surgical results to the bilateral breast-axillary approach in strictly selected patients, but the postoperative recovery speed is much faster, and the hospital stay is shorter. Transoral robotic thyroidectomy is a more recommended surgical method for patients with high aesthetic demand.

Abstract
Activation of mTORC1 is essential for anti-tumor function of iNKT cells. The mechanisms underlying impaired mTORC1 activation in intratumoral iNKT cells remain unclear. Via generating Vam6+/- mice and using flow cytometry, image approach, and RNA sequencing, we studied the role of Vam6 in controlling mTORC1 activation and intratumoral iNKT cell functions. Here, we find that increased Vam6 expression in intratumoral iNKT cells leads to impaired mTORC1 activation and IFN-γ production. Mechanistically, Vam6 in iNKT cells is essential for Rab7a-Vam6-AMPK complex formation and thus for recruitment of AMPK to lysosome to activate AMPK, a negative regulator of mTORC1. Additionally, Vam6 relieves inhibitory effect of VDAC1 on Rab7a-Vam6-AMPK complex formation at mitochondria-lysosome contact site. Moreover, we report that lactic acid produced by tumor cells increases Vam6 expression in iNKT cells. Given the key roles of increased Vam6 in promoting AMPK activation in intratumoral iNKT cells, reducing Vam6 expression signifificantly enhances the mTORC1 activation in intratumoral iNKT cells as well as their anti-tumor effificacy. Together, we propose Vam6 as a target for iNKT cell-based immunotherapy.

Abstract
To explore the mechanistic origin that determines the binding affinity of SARS-CoV-2 spike receptor binding domain (RBD) to human angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), we constructed the homology models of RBD-ACE2 complexes of four Omicron subvariants (BA.1, BA.2, BA.3 and BA.4/5), and compared them with wild type complex (RBDWT-ACE2) in terms of various structural dynamic properties by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and binding free energy (BFE) calculations. The results of MD simulations suggest that the RBDs of all the Omicron subvariants (RBDOMIs) feature increased global structural fluctuations when compared with RBDWT. Detailed comparison of BFE components reveals that the enhanced electrostatic attractive interactions are the main determinant of the higher ACE2-binding affinity of RBDOMIs than RBDWT, while the weakened electrostatic attractive interactions determine RBD of BA.4/5 subvariant (RBDBA.4/5) lowest ACE2-binding affinity among all Omicron subvariants. The per-residue BFE decompositions and the hydrogen bond (HB) networks analyses indicate that the enhanced electrostatic attractive interactions are mainly through gain/loss of the positively/negatively charged residues, and the formation or destruction of the interfacial HBs and salt bridges can also largely affect the ACE2-binding affinity of RBD. It is worth pointing out that since Q493R plays the most important positive contribution in enhancing binding affinity, the absence of this mutation in RBDBA.4/5 results in a significantly weaker binding affinity to ACE2 than other Omicron subvariants. Our results provide insight into the role of electrostatic interactions in determining of the binding affinity of SARS-CoV-2 RBD to human ACE2.

Abstract
Urban residents play an essential role in the carbon-reduction process, and it is significant to effectively guide them to reduce carbon voluntarily to achieve the "double carbon" target. In this study, a model was developed to investigate the influence of the environmental cognition (EC), environmental emotion (EE), and voluntary carbon-reduction behavior (VCB) of urban residents. Based on a sample of 978 urban residents in Jiangsu province, we used a multiple regression analysis to investigate the mechanisms of EC and EE on VCB. The results showed that: (1) both EC and EE positively affected residents' VCB, and EC had a higher impact than EE; (2) the three dimensions of EC (cognition for carbon-reduction knowledge, cognition for environmental issues, and cognition for individual responsibility) and the two dimensions of EE (positive environmental emotion and negative environmental emotion) all had a significant positive effect on voluntary carbon-reduction behavior; and (3) EE played a partial mediating role in the relationship between EC and VCB, and there was no significant difference in the strength of the mediating effect between positive and negative environmental emotion. In conclusion, raising environmental awareness and stimulating environmental emotion have the potential to promote voluntary carbon-reduction behavior among residents.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Acupuncture is emerging as a potential therapy for relieving pain, but the effectiveness of acupuncture for relieving low back and/or pelvic pain (LBPP) during the pregnancy remains controversial. This meta-analysis aims to investigate the effects of acupuncture on pain, functional status and quality of life for women with LBPP pain during the pregnancy. DESIGN Systematic review and meta-analysis. DATA SOURCES The PubMed, EMBASE databases, Web of Science and Cochrane Library were searched for relevant randomised controlled trials (RCTs) from inception to 15 January 2022. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SELECTING STUDIES RCTs evaluating the effects of acupuncture on LBPP during the pregnancy were included. DATA EXTRACTION AND SYNTHESIS The data extraction and study quality assessment were independently performed by three reviewers. The mean differences (MDs) with 95% CIs for pooled data were calculated. We assessed the confidence in the evidence using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation framework. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES The primary outcomes were pain, functional status and quality of life. The secondary outcomes were overall effects (a questionnaire at a post-treatment visit within a week after the last treatment to determine the number of people who received good or excellent help), analgesic consumption, Apgar scores >7 at 5 min, adverse events, gestational age at birth, induction of labour and mode of birth. RESULTS This meta-analysis included 10 studies, reporting on a total of 1040 women. Overall, acupuncture significantly relieved pain during pregnancy (MD=1.70, 95% CI: (0.95 to 2.45), p<0.00001, I2=90%) and improved functional status (MD=12.44, 95% CI: (3.32 to 21.55), p=0.007, I2=94%) and quality of life (MD=-8.89, 95% CI: (-11.90 to -5.88), p<0.00001, I2 = 57%). There was a significant difference for overall effects (OR=0.13, 95% CI: (0.07 to 0.23), p<0.00001, I2 = 7%). However, there was no significant difference for analgesic consumption during the study period (OR=2.49, 95% CI: (0.08 to 80.25), p=0.61, I2=61%) and Apgar scores of newborns (OR=1.02, 95% CI: (0.37 to 2.83), p=0.97, I2 = 0%). Preterm birth from acupuncture during he study period was reported in two studies. Although preterm contractions were reported in two studies, all infants were in good health at birth. In terms of gestational age at birth, induction of labour and mode of birth, only one study reported the gestational age at birth (mean gestation 40 weeks). Thus, prospective randomised clinical studies or clinical follow-up studies were hence desirable to further evaluate these outcomes. CONCLUSIONS Acupuncture significantly improved pain, functional status and quality of life in women with LBPP during the pregnancy. Additionally, acupuncture had no observable severe adverse influences on the newborns. More large-scale and well-designed RCTs are still needed to further confirm these results. Abstract
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly lethal cancer and is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Unlike apoptosis, necroptosis (NCPS) triggers an immune response by releasing damage-related molecular factors. However, the clinical prognostic features of necroptosis-associated genes in HCC are still not fully explored.Methods: We analyzed the single-cell datasets GSE125449 and GSE151530 from the GEO database and performed weighted co-expression network analysis on the TCGA data to identify the necroptosis genes. A prognostic model was built using COX and Lasso regression. In addition, we performed an analysis of survival, immunity microenvironment, and mutation. Furthermore, the hub genes and pathways associated with HCC were localized within the single-cell atlas.Results: Patients with HCC in the TCGA and ICGC cohorts were classified using a necroptosis-related model with significant differences in survival times between high- and low-NCPS groups (p < 0.05). High-NCPS patients expressed more immune checkpoint-related genes, suggesting immunotherapy and some chemotherapies might prove beneficial to them. In addition, a single-cell sequencing approach was conducted to investigate the expression of hub genes and associated signaling pathways in different cell types.Conclusion: Through the analysis of single-cell and bulk multi-omics sequencing data, we constructed a prognostic model related to necroptosis and explored the relationship between high- and low-NCPS groups and immune cell infiltration in HCC. This provides a new reference for further understanding the role of necroptosis in HCC.

Abstract
Leadership styles, especially empowering leadership, affect the psychological relationship between employees and organizations, and then affect employees’ positive behavior in the organization. In this research, we studied the effects of empowering leadership and psychological distance on employees’ pro-environmental behavior and explored the mechanism of green organizational climate (GOC). By adopting correlation analysis, statistical analysis, and regression analysis, we conducted a multisource field study of 873 valid employee questionnaires to verify our theoretical model. The results showed that empowering leadership had a significant positive impact on psychological distance and employees’ pro-environmental behavior; and psychological distance played a partly intermediation role in the relationship between empowering leadership and employees’ pro-environmental behavior. Moreover, GOC can promote employees’ pro-environmental behavior, but it cannot regulate between psychological distance and employees’ pro-environmental behavior. The findings obtained some intriguing insights that could help to better guide employees toward pro-environmental behavior.

Abstract
Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality and the fifth most common cancer worldwide. However, the underlying mechanisms of competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) in GC are unclear. This study aimed to construct a ceRNA regulation network in correlation with prognosis and explore a prognostic model associated with GC. Methods: In this study, 1,040 cases of GC were obtained from TCGA and GEO datasets. To identify potential prognostic signature associated with GC, Cox regression analysis and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression were employed. The prognostic value of the signature was validated in the GEO84437 training set, GEO84437 test set, GEO15459 set, and TCGA-STAD. Based on the public databases, TargetScan and starBase, an mRNA-miRNA-lncRNA regulatory network was constructed, and hub genes were identified using the CytoHubba plugin. Furthermore, the clinical outcomes, immune cell infiltration, genetic variants, methylation, and somatic copy number alteration (sCNA) associated with the ceRNA network were derived using bioinformatics methods. Results: A total of 234 prognostic genes were identified. GO and GSEA revealed that the biological pathways and modules related to immune response and fibroblasts were considerably enriched in GC. A nomogram was generated to provide accurate prognostic outcomes and individualized risk estimates, which were validated in the training, test dataset, and two independent validation datasets. Thereafter, an mRNA-miRNA-lncRNA regulatory network containing 4 mRNAs, 22 miRNAs, 201 lncRNAs was constructed. The KCNQ1OT1/hsa-miR-378a-3p/RBMS1 ceRNA network associated with the prognosis was obtained by hub gene analysis and correlation analysis. Importantly, we found that the KCNQ1OT1/miR-378a-3p/RBMS1 axis may play a vital role in the diagnosis and prognosis of GC patients based on Cox regression analyses. Furthermore, our findings demonstrated that mutations and sCNA of the KCNQ1OT1/miR-378a-3p/RBMS1 axis were associated with increased immune infiltration, while the abnormal upregulation of the axis was primarily a result of hypomethylation. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that the KCNQ1OT1/miR-378a-3p/RBMS1 axis may be a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for GC. Moreover, such findings provide insights into the molecular mechanisms of GC pathogenesis.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics of systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis combined with coronary artery dilatation. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data, including clinical manifestations, blood routine, inflammatory factors, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound and CT angiography, treatment and outcomes, etc, of 5 cases with systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis combined with coronary artery dilation admitted to Department of Rheumatology in the affiliated Children's Hospital of Capital Institute of Pediatrics from May 2019 to June 2021. Results: There were 2 males and 3 females among 5 cases. The onset age ranged from 7 months to 4 years 7 months.The diagnostic time ranged from 1.5 months to 3.0 months.Four cases were diagnosed as atypical Kawasaki disease. Three cases showed unilateral coronary artery dilation.Two cases showed bilateral coronary artery dilation.Four cases developed multiple organ injuries.Three cases developed macrophage activation syndrome.Three cases developed lung injury.Two cases developed pericardial effusion.One case developed pulmonary hypertension.As for treatment, 3 cases treated with methylprednisolone pulse therapy and methotrexate combined with cyclosporine, improved after the final application of biological agents, and have stopped prednisone. The other 2 cases were treated with adequate oral prednisone and gradually reduced, and methotrexate was added at the same time, 1 case relapsed in the process of reduction. No other vascular involvement was found in 5 cases. Coronary artery dilation recovered completely after 1 to 3 months of treatment. Conclusions: Systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis combined with coronary artery dilatation has the clinical characteristics of small onset age, long diagnostic time, prone to multiple organ injuries. Corticosteroids and conventional immunosuppressive agents are not sensitive, and biological agents should be used as soon as possible.The prognosis of coronary artery dilation is good after timely treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the changes in glucose after using a decision support system (DSS) of a smartphone mobile application (APP) in adults with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Methods: In the intervention study, the data (including general information at the time of registration) of adult T1DM patients enrolled in the Chinese T1DM Registration Management Project and registered with TangTangQuan® APP were collected. Within 1 year after registration, fasting blood glucose, pre-prandial and postprandial blood glucose at the three meals, blood glucose before bedtime and in nocturnal time were collected every 3 months. Frequencies of total recorded glucose values and proportion of different ranges of glycemia were also collected and analyzed, including the range between 3.9-7.8 mmol/L (Euglycemia), ranged below 3.9 mmol/L (Hypoglycemia) and range above 13.9 mmol/L (hyperglycemia). The patients were divided into 3 groups according to the daily use frequency of DSS (Low/Moderate/High frequency groups). The changes in point blood glucose, the proportion of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia over time were compared among different groups, as well as the baseline characteristics and glucose characteristics of patients. Results: A total of 629 eligible T1DM patients were included, including 216 (34.3%) males and 413 (65.7%) females, aged (31.5±10.8) years, and disease duration [M(Q1, Q3)] of 1.2 (0.1, 7.4) years. There were 239, 189 and 201 patients in the low, moderate and high frequency groups, respectively. Significant differences were observed among the three groups in all timepoints of self-monitoring blood glucose except for the glucose before bedtime from 10 to 12 months after registration (all P values<0.05), and the glucose level at each point in the high frequency group was lower than that in the other two groups. In the first three months after registration, there was no difference in the proportion of hypoglycemia among the three groups (P>0.05). However, from 10 to 12 months after registration, the proportion [M(Q1, Q3)] of hypoglycemia [3.34% (0.85%, 7.40%), 3.00% (0.78%, 6.17%), 1.81% (0.37%, 4.69%)] (P=0.022) between groups (from low to high frequency groups) and hyperglycemia [4.04% (0, 12.16%), 1.88% (0, 7.80%), 0.81% (0, 3.87%)] (P=0.001) were significantly different. Conclusions: The DSS function of mobile APP is helpful to the glucose management of adult patients with T1DM within 1 year after registration. The average blood glucose in adults with T1DM decreased, and the proportions of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia were also reduced.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the surgical outcome of transoral robotic thyroidectomy. Methods: Clinic data of total 30 cases of transoral robotic thyroidectomy at the Department of Thyroid and Breast Surgery, the 960th Hospital of People's Liberation Army from May 2020 to December 2020 were analyzed retrospectively. There were 3 males and 27 females, aged (31.5±11.0) years (range: 17 to 55 years), including 6 cases of benign tumor and 24 cases of malignant cancer (all papillary thyroid carcinoma). An inverted U-shaped incision 1.5 cm in length was made over the end of the frenulum of the lower lip. A wide subplatysmal space was created by bluntly passing with a vascular tunneller (8 mm diameter), and a 12 mm trocar was inserted through the lip incision for the camera port. Lateral oral mucosal incisions 8 mm in length were made near both lateral labial commissures, 8 mm robot trocars were inserted through the incisions. An 5 mm trocar was inserted through an incision made along the patient's right axillary fold into the subplatysmal working space and was connected with 5 mm ProGrasp for counter traction during the operation and for later drain insertion. Numerical scoring system (NSS) was used to assess cosmetic effect 1 month post-operation. Results: All the 30 transoral robotic thyroidectomies was successful, no case conversed to open operation. Postoperative hospital stay was (6.3±1.2) days (range: 4 to 10 days). The tumor size of thyroid cancers was (5.3±3.0) mm (range: 2 to 15 mm). Lymph node metastasis was observed in 12 cases. The retrieved central lymph node number was 10.5±4.4 (range: 4 to 20), while the central metastatic lymph node number was 2(2) (range: 1 to 11). Postoperative transient hypoparathyroidism occurred in 2 cases. Permanent hypoparathyroidism and vocal cord palsy didn't occur. Other surgical complications included hematoma, surgical site infection and perforation of chin flap, retrospectively in 1 case. Local regional lymph node recurrence wasn't developed during 1 to 7 months follow-up. All patients were satisfied with the postoperative cosmetic outcomes,NSS was 9.4±0.8 (range: 8.7 to 9.6). Conclusion: Transoral robotic thyroidectomy is safe and effective, suitable for early thyroid cancers without lateral lymph node metastasis, and has superior cosmetic results when the patients are selected carefully.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the surgical outcome, completeness and safety of robotic thyroidectomy by bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA). Methods: From February 2014 to May 2019, 1 000 cases of robotic thyroidectomy via BABA at the Department of Thyroid and Breast Surgery, the 960th Hospital of People's Liberation Army were performed. The clinicopathologic characteristics, operation times, perioperative complications, and oncologic outcomes of patients underwent robotic thyroidectomy were collected and reviewed retrospectively. There were 216 males and 784 females, aging (42.3±11.5) years (range: 7 to 75 years). There were 270 cases with benign tumors, and 730 cases with malignant cancers (the tumor diameter was (7.9±6.7) mm (range: 0.1 to 60.0 mm)). Results: There were 999 patients received robotic thyroidectomy using BABA approach successfully, while only 1 case conversed to open operation. The postoperative hospital stay was (7.5±2.5) days (range: 2 to 30 days). Among the 730 patients with thyroid cancers, 725 cases (99.3%) were papillary thyroid carcinoma, 579(79.3%) cases were with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma. Lymph node metastasis was observed in 371(50.8%) cases. The retrieved central lymph node number was 11.2±6.1 (range: 1 to 44),and the retrieved lateral lymph node number was 14.0±8.8 (range: 1 to 52). Postoperative transient hypoparathyroidism and vocal cord palsy occurred in 247(24.70%) and 56(5.60%) cases. Both of permanent hypoparathyroidism and vocal cord palsy occurred in 2 (0.20%) cases. Other surgical complications included chyle leakage (6.1%, 28/460), trachea injury (0.40%, 4/1 000), carotid artery injury (0.10%, 1/1 000). Local regional lymph node recurrence was developed in 4 patients. All patients were satisfied with the postoperative cosmetic outcomes. Conclusions: Robotic thyroidectomy by BABA is safe and effective, suitable for large benign tumors and early thyroid cancers with central or lateral lymph node metastasis. It could obtain superior cosmetic results.

Abstract
Bacterial infection and blockage are severe problems for polyurethane (PU) catheters and there is an urgent demand for surface-functionalized polyurethane. Herein, a cationic alternating copolymer comprising allyl-substituted ornithine and glycine (allyl-substituted poly(Orn-alter-Gly)) with abundant carbon-carbon double bond functional groups (C═C) is designed. Polyurethane is prepared with a large quantity of C═C groups (PU-D), and different amounts of allyl-substituted poly(Orn-alter-Gly) are grafted onto the PU-D surface (PU-D-2%AMPs and PU-D-20%AMPs) via the C═C functional groups. The chemical structures of the allyl-substituted poly(Orn-alter-Gly) and polyurethane samples (PU, PU-D, PU-D-2%AMPs, and PU-D-20%AMPs) are characterized and the results reveal that allyl-substituted poly(Orn-alter-Gly) is decorated on the polyurethane. PU-D-20%AMPs shows excellent antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecalis, and Staphylococcus aureus because of the high surface potential caused by cationic allyl-substituted poly(Orn-alter-Gly), and it also exhibits excellent long-term antibacterial activity and antibiofilm properties. PU-D-20%AMPs also has excellent antifouling properties because the cationic copolymer is fixed at multiple reactive sites, thus avoiding the formation of movable long chain brush. A strong surface hydration barrier is also formed to prevent adsorption of proteins and ions, and in vivo experiments reveal excellent biocompatibility. This flexible strategy to prepare dual-functional polyurethane surfaces with antibacterial and antifouling properties has large potential in biomedical implants.

Abstract
Activation of NLRP3 inflammasome is precisely controlled to avoid excessive activation. Although multiple molecules regulating NLRP3 inflammasome activation have been revealed, the checkpoints governing NLRP3 inflammasome activation remain elusive. Here, we show that activation of NLRP3 inflammasome is governed by GSTO1-promoted ASC deglutathionylation in macrophages. Glutathionylation of ASC inhibits ASC oligomerization and thus represses activation of NLRP3 inflammasome in macrophages, unless GSTO1 binds ASC and deglutathionylates ASC at ER, under control of mitochondrial ROS and triacylglyceride synthesis. In macrophages expressing ASCC171A, a mutant ASC without glutathionylation site, activation of NLRP3 inflammasome is GSTO1 independent, ROS independent, and signal 2 less dependent. Moreover, AscC171A mice exhibit NLRP3-dependent hyperinflammation in vivo. Our results demonstrate that glutathionylation of ASC represses NLRP3 inflammasome activation, and GSTO1-promoted ASC deglutathionylation at ER, under metabolic control, is a checkpoint for activating NLRP3 inflammasome.

Abstract
Background Tumor‐infiltrating immune cells participate in the initiation and progression of prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD). However, it is not fully known how immune infiltration affects the development of PRAD and its clinical presentation. Methods Herein, we investigated the immune infiltration phenotypes in PRAD based on transcriptome profiles, methylation profiles, somatic mutation, and copy number variations. We also developed an immune prognostic model (IPM) to identify unfavorable prognosis. To verify this model, immunohistochemistry staining was performed on a cohort of PRAD samples. Moreover, we constructed a nomogram to assess the survival of PRAD incorporating immune infiltration and other clinical features. Results We categorized PRAD patients into high and low‐level clusters based on immune infiltration phenotypes. The patients in the high‐level clusters had worse survival than their low‐level counterparts. Gene set enrichment analysis indicated that both anti‐ and pro‐tumor terms were enriched in high‐level cluster. Moreover, we identified a positive correlation between anti‐ and pro‐tumor immune cells in PRAD microenvironment. Notably, Somatic mutation analysis showed patients in high‐level cluster had a higher somatic mutation burden of KMT2D, HSPA8, CHD7, and MAP1A. In addition, we developed an IPM with robust predictive ability. The model can distinguish high‐risk PRAD patients with poor prognosis from low‐risk PRAD patients in both training and another three independent validation datasets. Besides, we constructed a nomogram incorporating Gleason score, pathological T stage, and IPM for the prognosis prediction of PRAD patients, which displayed robust predictive ability and might contribute to clinical practice. Conclusion Our work illustrated the immune infiltration phenotypes strongly related to the poor prognosis of PRAD patients, and highlighted the potential of the IPM to identify unfavorable tumor features.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ectopic thyroid is defined as a rare developmental anomaly where thyroid tissues are atypically found in locations other than its normal anatomical position: Anterolateral to the second, third, and fourth tracheal cartilages. An intemperate descent or a migration failure of the thyroid anlage results in sub-diaphragmatic thyroid ectopia, a sparse clinical entity.
CASE SUMMARY This case portrays a 63-year-old female patient presenting with chronic abdominal discomfort at a local hospital whereby a computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a well-defined mass in the hepatic entrance. For further examination, the patient underwent a CT scan with contrast, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and CT-angiography (CTA) at our department. The CT scan showed a well-defined and high attenuated mass measuring 43 mm × 38 mm in the hepatic entrance with calcification. The CTA revealed an additional finding: Blood supply to the mass from the right hepatic artery. MRI of the upper abdomen demonstrated a mass with mixed signal intensity on T1 and T2 weighted images in the hepatic entrance. The patient underwent surgery with resection of the mass which was sent for histopathology. Ectopic thyroid at the level of porta hepatis with nodules was the definitive diagnosis since histopathological report revealed presence of thyroid tissue in the resected liver mass.
CONCLUSION This case delivers a rare insight of pre-operative radiological imaging of an ectopic thyroid located in the liver. These findings can aid in narrowing down potential differential diagnosis when managing a patient with those subsequent findings.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the complications of Da Vinci robotic thyroid surgery by bilateral axillo-breast approach. Methods: A retrospective analysis of complications was conducted on 1, 198 cases of Da Vinci robotic thyroid surgery by bilateral axillo-breast approach of the 960 th Hospital of the People's Liberation Army from February 2014 to March 2020. There were 263 men and 935 women, age ranged from 9 to 68 years old, and included 288 benign lesions and 910 malignancies according to preoperative imaging examination, FNAC, and intraoperative frozen pathology. Results: Surgical complications occurred in 187 (15.61%) patients, including 10 cases of temporary larynx nerve injury (0.83%), 1 case of permanent larynx nerve injury (0.08%), and 152 cases of temporary hypoparathyroidism (12.69%), no permanent hypoparathyroidism, 1 case of hypoglossal injury (0.08%), 2 cases of facial nerve jaw branch damage (0.17%), 2 cases of trachea injury (0.17%), no esophagus damage, 5 cases of celiac leakage (0.42%), 3 cases of neck skin adhesion (0.25%), 2 cases of subdermal bleeding (0.17%), 2 cases of skin burns (0.17%), 5 cases of hematoma (0.42%), 1 case of cephalic artery rupture (0.08%), 1 case of jugular vein rupture (0.08%), no tumor cultivation, no arm plex nerve, accessory nerve or phrenic nerve damage. Conclusion: Da Vinci robot thyroid surgery by bilateral axillo-breast approach is safe, with less severe complications.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the predictive value of combined clinical and imaging features, compared with the clinical or radiological risk factors only. Moreover, the expected results aimed to improve the identification of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-COV-2) patients who may have critical outcomes.This retrospective study included laboratory-confirmed SARS-COV-2 cases between January 18, 2020, and February 16, 2020. The patients were divided into 2 groups with noncritical illness and critical illness regarding severity status within the hospitalization. Univariable and multivariable logistic regression models were used to explore the risk factors associated with clinical and radiological outcomes in patients with SARS-COV-2. The ROC curves were performed to compare the prediction performance of different factors.A total of 180 adult patients in this study included 20 critical patients and 160 noncritical patients. In univariate logistic regression analysis, 15 risk factors were significantly associated with critical outcomes. Of importance, C-reactive protein (1.051, 95% confidence interval 1.024-1.078), D-dimer (1.911, 95% CI, 1.050-3.478), and CT score (1.29, 95% CI, 1.053-1.529) on admission were independent risk factors in multivariate analysis. The combined model achieved a better performance in disease severity prediction (P = .05).CRP, D-dimer, and CT score on admission were independent risk factors for critical illness in adults with SARS-COV-2. The combined clinical and radiological model achieved better predictive performance than clinical or radiological factors alone.

Abstract
PURPOSE To describe the prognostic value of pulmonary artery (PA) trunk enlargement on the admission of in-hospital patients with severe COVID-19 infection by unenhanced CT image. MATERIALS AND METHODS In-hospital patients confirmed COVID-19 from January 18, 2020, to March 7, 2020, were retrospectively enrolled. PA trunk diameters on admission and death events were collected to calculate the optimum cutoff using a receiver operating characteristic curve. According to the cutoff, the subjects on admission were divided into two groups. Then the in-hospital various parameters were compared between the two groups to assess the predictive value of PA trunk diameter. RESULTS In the 180 enrolled in-hospital patients (46.99 ± 14.95 years; 93 (51.7%) female, 14 patients (7.8%) died during their hospitalization. The optimum cutoff PA trunk diameter to predict in-hospital mortality was > 29 mm with a sensitivity of 92.59% and a specificity of 91.11%. Kaplan-Meier survival curves for PA trunk diameter on admission showed that a PA trunk diameter > 29 mm was a significant predictor of subsequent death (log-rank < 0.001, median survival time of PA > 29 mm was 28 days). CONCLUSION PA trunk enlargement can be a useful predictive factor for distinguishing between mild and severe COVID-19 disease progression.

Abstract
In order to effectively promoting green consumption, this paper constructs a theoretical model from the perspective of double-entry mental accounting to study the impact of perceived value and consumption sensitivity on green consumption intention. Conducting a large-scale empirical study, we analyzed the influence of perceived value on green consumption intention, tested the mediating effect of double-entry mental accounting, and explored the moderating effect of consumption sensitivity on perceived value and green consumption intention. The results indicate that perceived benefits are significantly positively correlated with green consumption intention, and perceived sacrifices are significantly negatively correlated with green consumption intention. In addition, perceived benefits have a greater impact on green consumption intention than perceived sacrifices. Double-entry mental accounting plays a significant mediating role on the path from perceived value to green consumption intention. Compared with the mediating effect of the coefficient of pleasure attenuation and the coefficient of pain buffering, the mediating effect of coefficient of pleasure attenuation is stronger and the mediating path is more important. This study concludes that individuals with lower consumption sensitivity are more willing to buy green products. When consumption sensitivity is lower, the negative correlation between perceived sacrifices and green consumption intention is stronger. Finally, corresponding policies are proposed based on the results of this study.

Abstract
Antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (ASODN) can directly interfere a series of biological events of the target RNA derived from tumor cells through Watson-Crick base pairing, in turn, plays antitumor therapeutic roles. In the study, a novel HIF-1α ASODN-loaded nanocomposite was formulated to efficiently deliver gene to the target RNA. The physicochemical properties of nanocomposite were characterized using TEM, FTIR, DLS and zeta potentials. The mean diameter of resulting GEL-DGL-FA-ASODN-DCA nanocomposite was about 170-192 nm, and according to the agarose gel retardation assay, the loading amount of ASODN accounted for 166.7 mg/g. The results of cellular uptake showed that the nanocomposite could specifically target to HepG2 and Hela cells. The cytotoxicity assay demonstrated that the toxicity of vectors was greatly reduced by using DCA to reversibly block the cationic DGL. The subcellular distribution images clearly displayed the lysosomal escape ability of the DCA-modified nanocomposite. In vitro exploration of molecular mechanism indicated that the nanocomposite could inhibit mRNA expression and HIF-1α protein translation at different levels. In vivo optical images and quantitative assay testified that the formulation accumulated preferentially in the tumor tissue. In vivo antitumor efficacy research confirmed that this nanocomposite had significant antitumor activity and the tumor inhibitory rate was 77.99%. These results manifested that the GEL-DGL-FA-ASODN-DCA nanocomposite was promising in gene therapeutics for antitumor by interacting directly with target RNA.

Abstract
Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) is a major water channel of the central nervous system. The present study was designed to determine whether AQP4 deletion could ameliorate enterovirus (EV) 71 infection‑induced hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) by inhibiting inflammation and apoptosis in mice. EV 71 strains were injected into neonatal BALB/c mice to induce HFMD. Western blotting and ELISA were used to measure the protein expression and cytokine levels. The levels of AQP4 mRNA and protein in the brain were increased in EV 71‑infected mice, while the survival rate and health score were improved in AQP4‑knockout (KO) mice with EV 71 infection. The EV 71 infection‑induced increases of tumor necrosis factor‑α, interleukin (IL)‑1β, IL‑6, monocyte chemotactic protein‑1, interferon (IFN)‑α and IFN‑γ in plasma and brain were inhibited in AQP4‑KO mice. AQP4 deletion reversed the decreased levels of Bcl2 and Bcl2/Bax, and the increased levels of Bax induced by EV 71 infection in the brain. These results demonstrated that AQP4 deletion ameliorated EV 71 induced‑HFMD via inhibiting inflammation and apoptosis in mice.

Abstract
Purpose High central blood pressure is more predictive of cardiovascular disease (CVD) versus high peripheral blood pressure. Measures of central pressures (CPs) include, central systolic blood pressure (CSBP) and central diastolic blood pressure. Measures of central pressures augmentation (CPsA) include augmentation pressure (AP) and the augmentation index @ 75 beats·min-1 (AIx@75). Increased sympathetic tone (ST) is also associated with CVD. The low to high frequency ratio (LF/HF) is often used to determine sympatho-vagal balance. Given the association between ST, CPs, CPsA and CVD there is a need to understand the association between these predictors of CVD. The aims of this study were to examine the association between the LF/HF ratio, CPs, and CPsA in men and women collectively and based on gender. Methods We measured the LF/HF ratio, CSBP, AP, and AIx@75 in 102 participants (41F/61M). The LF/HF ratio was determined via power spectral density analysis. CSBP, AP, and AIx@75 were determined via applanation tonometry. Results The LF/HF ratio was inversely associated with AP (r = -0.26) and AIx @75 (r = -0.29) in the combined group of men and women. The LF/HF ratio was inversely associated with CSBP (r = -0.27), AP (r = -0.28), and AIx@75 (r = -0.32) in men, but not in women. Conclusion There is an inverse association between the LF/HF ratio, AP, and AIx@75 in men and women combined. The association between the LF/HF ratio, CSBP, AP, and AIx@75, differs based on gender.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Aerobic vaginitis (AV) is a reproductive tract infection that affects health of women. The objective of this study was to analyze the characteristics of simple and mixed AV patients in Xi'an district and provide reference data for the clinical treatment of AV. METHODS Patients were recruited from the outpatient Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from September 2014 to April 2019 in strict accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study principally examined the vaginal ecosystem, age distribution, levels of functional enzymes, and changes in pH levels in these women. Differences within groups were analyzed. RESULTS A total of 284 AV patients were enrolled to investigate the distribution of simple and mixed AV infection. AV infection was found to be mainly simple infection. Simple AV patients were generally aged 50-60 years, while mixed AV patients were mostly aged 30-40 years. In the present study, the density of vaginal bacteria (OR = 13.294, 95% CI = 5.869-30.115, P < 0.01), the type of predominant bacteria (OR = 3.962, 95% CI = 1.785-7.984, P < 0.01) and positive expression of coagulase (OR = 3.789, 95% CI = 1.798-7.984, P < 0.01) were considered risk factors for mixed AV infection. CONCLUSIONS The epidemiology of simple and mixed AV infection were found to be different, with density of vaginal bacteria (I or IV), species that are predominant and levels of coagulase being risk factors for mixed AV infection.

Abstract
As an important indicator of greenhouse gas emissions, the carbon footprint (CF) has become increasingly important in recent years under the dual pressures of global warming and international commitments to mitigate its effects. This study collected 3698 papers related to CF from the Web of Science database as research samples (year 2007 to 2018). Based on CiteSpace, the knowledge base, popular topics, and research trends of CF are presented. The results show the following: (1) from 2007 to 2018, the number of articles on CF have steadily increased. (2) After spatial analysis of the literature, we found that among research institutions, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has the largest number of publications on the issue. When it comes to country, three important research forces can be identified: USA, China, and UK. (3) Research on the CF is interdisciplinary; in addition to the traditional fields of environmental, political, economics, and computing, CF research has received attention from the Physics, Materials, Chemistry, Mathematics, and animal sciences. (4) Through keyword clustering, currently popular topics in research can be roughly divided into four aspects: CF calculation methods, research scales, energy, and agriculture. (5) The CF research during the study period is divided into four stages according to the burst time and content of the burst keywords. According to the research status and trend, this paper puts forward the future research direction of carbon footprint.

Abstract
An electrochemical immunosensor for highly sensitive detection of cancer biomarkers has been developed based on the combination of a sensing platform of polydopamine modified porous graphene and a nonenzymatic label of metal-organic framework (MOF) conjugated secondary antibody. This approach achieves a wide range of linear response from 0.1 to 10 ng/mL, low detection limit of 0.025 ng/mL (at a signal to noise ratio of 3), good reproducibility and selectivity for the detection of prostate specific antigen (PSA) as a model analyte. The high performance of the immunosensor is attributed to the high surface area from porous graphene and the strong adhesion of polydopamine, allowing a high load of the primary antibody of PSA, as well as the highly electrocatalytic activity of the Cu3(BTC)2 (BTC = benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid) MOF toward H2O2 to provide greatly amplified sensitivity. In this respect, the MOF-based nonenzymatic label shows promising application for the point-of-care detection of different cancer biomarkers in clinical diagnostics.

Abstract
Background This study aimed to investigate the effects of matrine (MAT) on the drug resistance of K562/ADM cells. Methods K562/S and K562/ADM cells were treated with different concentrations of vincristine (VCR), adriamycin (ADM), and/or MAT for 48 h. The cell viability was determined by MTT assay, and the drug-resistant multiple and drug-resistant reversal multiple were calculated based on half-inhibitory concentration (IC50). The cell apoptosis, as well as cell cycle were detected by flow cytometry. The autophagy was evaluated by transmission electron microscope and GFP-LC3 staining. Autophagy-related protein levels of LC3 II, and P62 were detected by Western blot. Results MAT reduced the viability of K562/S and K562/ADM cells in a dose-dependent manner, and 0.5 mg/mL was identified as the non-cytotoxic concentration. MAT eliminated the drug resistance of K562/ADM cells to ADM and VCR, and the drug resistance reversal multiple was 10.12 and 4.91, respectively. Chloroquine (CQ), a lysosomal inhibitor significantly reversed the inhibitory effect of MAT on the viability of K562/ADM cells. In addition, MAT induced the apoptosis of K562/ADM cells through arresting the cell cycle at G0/G1 phase in a dose-dependent manner. MAT also increased the autophagic vacuoles, the LC3+ punctate fluorescence, as well as the LC3 II protein level, and decreased P62 protein level in K562/ADM cells in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusions MAT reversed the drug resistance of K562/ADM cells to ADM and VCR through promoting autophagy.

Abstract
Dysfunction of invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells in tumor microenvironment hinders their anti-tumor efficacy, and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here we report that iNKT cells increase lipid biosynthesis after activation, and that is promoted by PPARγ and PLZF synergically through enhancing transcription of Srebf1. Among those lipids, cholesterol is required for the optimal IFN-γ production from iNKT cells. Lactic acid in tumor microenvironment reduces expression of PPARγ in intratumoral iNKT cells and consequently diminishes their cholesterol synthesis and IFN-γ production. Importantly, PPARγ agonist pioglitazone, a thiazolidinedione drug for type 2 diabetes, successfully restores IFN-γ production in tumor-infiltrating iNKT cells from both human patients and mouse models. Combination of pioglitazone and alpha-galactosylceramide treatments significantly enhances iNKT cell-mediated anti-tumor immune responses and prolongs survival of tumor-bearing mice. Our studies provide a strategy to augment the anti-tumor efficacy of iNKT cell-based immunotherapies via promoting their lipid biosynthesis. Lipid metabolism has been linked to iNKT function largely as it impacts processing and presentation of lipids they recognize. Here the authors show that iNKT-intrinsic lipid biosynthesis is important for their function but is impaired in tumors, and its restoration with PPARγ agonist drugs promotes anti-tumor iNKT response.

Abstract
Andrias davidianus is widely recognized in traditional medicine as a cure-all to treat a plethora of ailments. In a previous study, a novel antibacterial peptide named andricin B was isolated from A. davidianus blood. In this study, we investigated andricin B structure and its mode of action. Circular dichroism spectra suggested that andricin B adopts a random coil state in aqueous solution and a more rigid conformation in the presence of bacteria. Moreover propidium iodide/fluorescein diacetate double staining indicated that bacteria treated with andricin B were not immediately eliminated. Rather, there is a gradual bacterial death, followed by a sublethal stage. Scanning electronic microscope imaging indicates that andricin B might form pores on cell membranes, leading to the release of cytoplasmic contents. These results were consistent with flow cytometry analysis. Furthermore, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy suggests that andricin B induces changes in the chemical properties in the areas surrounding these "pores" on the cell membranes. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: The results of this study suggested the new perspectives about the mode of action of antimicrobial peptide (AMP) active against sensitive bacteria. The AMP was able to be in a random coiled state in aqueous solution but to change to a more rigid one in the presence of sensitive bacteria. Exposure to AMP might not lead to immediate death of treated bacteria, rather bacteria concentration decreased gradually flattening at a sublethal stage. These findings will help people to understand better how the AMPs activate against sensitive bacteria.

Abstract
With the improvement of living quality and the increase of energy consumption of residents, their energy conservation behavior (ECB) plays an increasingly important role in energy conservation and emission reduction. As a kind of environmental behavior, ECB of residents is a complicated process. In this paper, ECB is divided into four types, considering habit adjustment, quality threshold, efficiency investment, and interpersonal facilitation. A comprehensive conceptual framework is built, adding perception about energy conservation results (PER) and contextual factors from a new perspective. Based on a survey in Jiangsu province of China, this paper examines the impact of intention on behavior under the moderation of contextual factors, as well as the effect of perception of energy-conservation results on intention and ECB by means of multivariate statistical analysis. The results show that the intention of energy conservation is the determinant of behavior, but it does not well transform into behavior, especially into quality threshold and interpersonal facilitation behavior. Different contextual factors have positive effects on the relationship of intention and different behavior. However, modulating effects of contextual factors as amplifiers do not function effectively due to their low rating scores. PER has a positive impact on intention but not on all types of ECB. Finally, this paper presents important implications for policy makers to optimize energy conservation policy.

Abstract
Objective:To discuss the effect of obesity on the operation of thyroid gland surgery and surgical results.Method:The clinical data of 446 patients who underwent robot thyroid surgery through bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA) from the General Hospital of Jinan Military region from February 2014 to November 2017 were analyzed retrospectively, and the patients were divided into BMI<25 kg/m²; group, BMI 25-30 kg/m²; group and BMI>30 kg/m²; group according to body mass index (BMI). The operative complications were compared between the three groups of benign and malignant patients, such as operation time, postoperative lead flow, postoperative hospitalization time, tumor size (malignant), lymph node metastasis (malignant), cosmetic satisfaction score, laryngeal nerve injury and parathyroid function decrease. Statistical methods using Variance analysis and χ² test to compare the differences between the two groups of indicators, difference is statistically significant (P<0.05).Result:The difference of operation time, postoperative average hospitalization time and postoperative drainage fluid volume in 3 groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05). ①Intraoperative and postoperative pathological results were benign: BMI<25 kg/m²; group 69 cases, BMI 25-30 kg/m²; group 48 cases, BMI>30 kg/m²; group 8 cases, temporary recurrent laryngeal nerve injury were 1 case, 0 case and 0 case respectively, temporary parathyroid function decrease 3 cases, 2 cases and 1 case. ②Intraoperative and postoperative pathological results were malignant:BMI<25 kg/m²; group 180 cases, BMI 25-30 kg/m²; group 119 cases,BMI>30 kg/m²; group 22 cases, temporary recurrent laryngeal nerve injury were 2 cases,1 case and 0 case respectively, temporary parathyroid dysfunction in 64 cases,29 cases and 5 cases respectively.③1 patient in BMI<25 kg/m²; group had lymphatic leakage after operation, 1 patient in BMI 25-30 kg/m²; group had subcutaneous tunnel hemorrhage, and 1 patient had lymphatic leakage during operation.Conclusion:For overweight or obese patients, the da Vinci robot thyroid operation is reliable, does not increase the risk of surgical complications, but also has a good cosmetic effect.

Abstract
Crystalline/amorphous interfaces (CAIs) confer outstanding mechanical properties on crystalline/amorphous nanostructured multilayers (C/ANMs), which are widely used in micro/nanodevices, because their unique interfacial structure possesses high strain compatibility. In this study, Cu/X (X = Cu-Ti, HfO2) C/ANMs with equal layer thicknesses (h) were comparatively investigated in terms of size-dependent hardness (H) and thermal stability to uncover the fundamental difference(s) between Cu/Cu-Ti and Cu/HfO2. It was found that both as-deposited Cu/Cu-Ti and Cu/HfO2 C/ANMs exhibited a maximum hardness at a critical thickness of h ∼30 nm, which was caused by a transition from confined dislocation gliding to dislocation transmission across the interface. Specifically, the Cu/Cu-Ti C/ANMs exhibited annealing hardening, whereas the Cu/HfO2 C/ANMs exhibited annealing softening associated with a minimum softening at h ∼ 30 nm, which was closely correlated with their thermal stability. In comparison with monolithic amorphous X thin films, the glassy X nanolayers in the present Cu/X C/ANMs exhibited reduced thermal stability and a trend that smaller sizes led to higher stability. The underlying mechanism of the size-dependent crystallization behavior of X nanolayers is discussed in terms of the constraining effects of the interface. These findings provide deep insights into the design of Cu/metallic-glass and Cu/ceramic-glass C/ANMs with optimal performance.

Abstract
The present meta-analysis was intended to explore the relationship between the X-ray repair cross complementing 1 (XRCC1) polymorphisms (Arg194Trp, Arg280His and Arg399Gln) and cervical cancer risk. Several electronic databases were searched systematically and bibliographies of relevant papers were identified carefully. Then, a meta-analysis was performed based on eligible studies in various genetic models. Pooled odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were employed to evaluate the strength of associations between the XRCC1 polymorphisms and cervical cancer risk. Additionally, heterogeneity analysis and sensitivity analysis were done if necessary. Totally, 11 articles involving 2092 cases and 2803 controls were included. Taken together, there was no obvious association between the Arg194Trp or Arg280His polymorphism and cervical cancer risk. Considering the great heterogeneity, subgroup analysis was done, but the pooled result remained stable. Nevertheless, the association between the Arg399Gln polymorphism and cervical cancer risk showed distinct statistic significance in the allele model, dominant model, homozygous model and heterozygous model. In view of the exiting heterogeneity, we did subgroup analysis stratified by ethnicity, resulting in the fact that the Arg399Gln polymorphism was related to the decreased risk of cervical cancer. The Begg's test and Egger's test were used to find no publication bias. To conclude, the current meta-analysis indicated that the XRCC1 Arg399Gln polymorphism decreased the risk of cervical cancer, while the Arg194Trp and Arg280His polymorphisms were not associated with cervical caner risk. Certainly, a well-designed large-scale multicenter study is warranted to confirm the finding.
