Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the potential benefits of using massage chairs for improving health. DATA SOURCES A rapid scoping review was conducted using PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar from inception to November 1, 2022. STUDY SELECTION Using the keyword strategy ("massage chair*" OR "massage-chair*"), only studies in English were selected. Two reviewers independently screened the studies, and conflicts were resolved by consensus. Studies involving physical massage therapy were excluded. DATA EXTRACTION A total of 59 articles were identified, and 18 were included in the final analysis. Quality assessment was performed, following STROBE, CONSORT and CASP guidelines. The following data were extracted: authors, year, country, study design, study objective, age, gender, participants, measures, and main findings. DATA SYNTHESIS The results of the present review indication that the utilization of massage chairs may positively affect both physical and mental health concerns. This review especially found a more significant number of studies showing benefits in mental health. However, two case reports indicated complications when using massage chairs. CONCLUSIONS The use of massage chairs could have benefits on cognitive function improvement, stress reduction and mental fatigue decline, muscle stiffness improvement, pain reduction, and potential benefits for quality of life.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A series of qualitative studies conducted by the OMERACT Myositis Working Group identified pain interference, fatigue, and physical function as highly important life impact domains for adults with idiopathic inflammatory myositis (IIM). In this study, our goal was to assess the responsiveness and minimal important difference of PROMIS pain interference (6a), fatigue (7a), and physical function (8b). METHODS Adults with IIM from USA, Netherlands, Korea, Sweden, and Australia with two "clinical" visits were enrolled in this prospective study. Anchor questions on a Likert scale were collected at baseline, and manual muscle testing (MMT), physician and patient reported global disease activity, and PROMIS instruments were collected at both visits. Responsiveness was assessed with i) ANOVA, ii) paired t-test, effect size and standardized response mean, and iii) Pearson correlation. Minimal important difference (MID), minimal important change (MIC) and minimal detectable change (MDC) values were calculated. RESULTS 114 patients with IIM (median age 60, 60 % female) completed both visits. Changes in PROMIS instruments were significantly different among anchor categories. Patients who reported improvement had a significant improvement in their PROMIS scores with at least medium effect size, while patients who reported worsening and stability did not show a significant change with weak effect size. PROMIS instruments had weak to moderate correlations with MMT, patient and physician global disease activity. MID was approximately 2-3 points for Pain Interference and 3-4 points for Fatigue and Physical Function forms based on the method used. MIC was approximately 4-5 for improvement of all the instruments, while MDC was 1.7-2 points for Pain Interference and Physical Function and 3.2-3.9 for Fatigue. CONCLUSION This study provides evidence towards the responsiveness of the PROMIS instruments in a large international prospective cohort of adults with IIM supporting their use as PROMs in adult myositis.

Abstract
This study aimed to detect signals of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and targeted therapies in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients. Utilizing the KOrean College of Rheumatology BIOlogics & Targeted Therapy Registry (KOBIO) data, we calculated relative risks, excluded previously reported drug-ADR pairs, and externally validated remaining pairs using US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) and single centre's electronic health records (EHR) data. Analyzing data from 2279 RA and 1940 AS patients, we identified 35 significant drug-ADR pairs in RA and 26 in AS, previously unreported in drug labels. Among the novel drug-ADR pairs from KOBIO, 15 were also significant in the FAERS data. Additionally, 2 significant drug-laboratory abnormality pairs were found in RA using CDM MetaLAB analysis. Our findings contribute to the identification of 14 novel drug-ADR signals, expanding our understanding of potential adverse effects related to biological DMARDs and targeted therapies in RA and AS. These results emphasize the importance of ongoing pharmacovigilance for patient safety and optimal therapeutic interventions.

Abstract
Tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TSGCT) is a rare soft tissue tumor that involves the synovial lining of joints, bursae, and tendon sheaths, primarily affecting young patients (usually in the fourth decade of life). The tumor comprises two subtypes: the localized type (L-TSGCT) and the diffuse type (D-TSGCT). Although these subtypes share histological and genetic similarities, they present a different prognosis. D-TSGCT tends to exhibit local aggressiveness and a higher recurrence rate compared to L-TSGCT. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the preferred diagnostic tool for both the initial diagnosis and for treatment planning. When interpreting the initial MRI of a suspected TSGCT, it is essential to consider: (i) the characteristic findings of TSGCT-evident as low to intermediate signal intensity on both T1- and T2-weighted images, with a blooming artifact on gradient-echo sequences due to hemosiderin deposition; (ii) the possibility of D-TSGCT-extensive involvement of the synovial membrane with infiltrative margin; and (iii) the resectability and extent-if resectable, synovectomy is performed; if not, a novel systemic therapy involving colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor inhibitors is administered. In the interpretation of follow-up MRIs of D-TSGCTs after treatment, it is crucial to consider both tumor recurrence and potential complications such as osteoarthritis after surgery as well as the treatment response after systemic treatment. Given its prevalence in young adult patents and significant impact on patients' quality of life, clinical trials exploring new agents targeting D-TSGCT are currently underway. Consequently, understanding the characteristic MRI findings of D-TSGCT before and after treatment is imperative.

Abstract
Epithelioid angiosarcoma is a rare variant of angiosarcoma characterized by an epithelioid morphology that mimics carcinoma. Therefore, multicentric epithelioid angiosarcoma is easily misdiagnosed as bone metastasis from carcinoma and has an aggressive clinical course. Here, we present a rare case of a 61-year-old male with multicentric epithelioid angiosarcoma of the bone. Plain radiography, CT, and MRI revealed multiple osteolytic lesions in both femurs; some lesions showed soft tissue extension with cortical bone destruction. Interestingly, PET-CT revealed that the lesions were only distributed along the bones of the lower extremities, including the pelvic bones, femurs, and tibiae. Despite histological analysis initially suggesting metastatic carcinoma, after additional immunohistological staining, including that for vascular markers (CD31 and ERG), the final diagnosis was epithelioid angiosarcoma. A better understanding of the clinicoradiological features of this disease may help eliminate diagnostic confusion and provide better management.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To explore the etiology of May-Thurner syndrome (MTS) with acute iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT) regarding imaging findings and clinical features. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 57 patients with acute left iliofemoral DVT from 2015 to 2020. The diameter of left common iliac vein (LCIV) at the maximal compression site and its percent compression regarding the average diameter of the uncompressed iliac vein were recorded in central and distal portions of the LCIV according to the location in the quadrant of lumbar vertebral body. Compression was categorized into simple and bony MTS; Simple MTS as LCIV compressed by the right common iliac artery (RCIA) versus Bony MTS as LCIV by lower lumbar degenerative changes regardless of RCIA compression. Initial computed tomographic venography (CTV) regarding chronic change of LCIV such as fibrotic atrophy or cordlike obliteration, extent of thrombus, and lumbar degenerative changes were evaluated. Therapeutic effect after initial therapy was assessed in follow-up CTVs after 3-6 months. RESULTS All patients showed LCIV compression with 19 simple MTS (mean age, 42.8 ± 14.1 years [23-67 years]; 12 females; symptom for 4.4 ± 5.5 days) and 38 bony MTS (mean age, 73.0 ± 10.2 years [49-85 years]; 26 females; symptom for 5.5 ± 4.8 days). There was significant difference in age (p < .001) and no significant difference in sex or symptom duration between two groups (p = .691 and 0.415, respectively). All simple MTS showed compression only in the central LCIV and half of bony MTS showed compression in both central and distal LCIV (p < .001). Among the lumbar degenerative changes, symmetric anterolateral osteophyte (p < .001) and asymmetric osteophyte (p < .001) were significantly associated with bony MTS, but not scoliosis (p = .799), compared to simple MTS. Although there was no significant difference in chronic change of LCIV, thrombosis extent, and therapeutic effect between two groups (p > .05), chronic change of LCIV showed significant difference between single and dual compression (23.7% vs. 57.9%, p = .024) and residual thrombus after initial therapy was occurred in 21.1% of single compression and 47.4% in dual compression with non-significant trend (p = .082). CONCLUSION Bony MTS related to lumbar degenerative changes with acute iliofemoral DVT occurs in older patients, presenting more than one stenosis at LCIV, inducing more chronic change with possibly weaker therapeutic effect than simple MTS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To develop a postmenstrual age (PMA) prediction model based on segmentation volume and to evaluate the brain maturation index using the proposed model. METHODS Neonatal brain MRIs without clinical illness or structural abnormalities were collected from four datasets from the Developing Human Connectome Project, the Catholic University of Korea, Hammersmith Hospital (HS), and Dankook University Hospital (DU). T1- and T2-weighted images were used to train a brain segmentation model. Another model to predict the PMA of neonates based on segmentation data was developed. Accuracy was assessed using mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), and mean error (ME). The brain maturation index was calculated as the difference between the PMA predicted by the model and the true PMA, and its correlation with postnatal age was analyzed. RESULTS A total of 247 neonates (mean gestation age 37 ± 4 weeks; range 24-42 weeks) were included. Thirty-one features were extracted from each neonate and the three most contributing features for PMA prediction were the right lateral ventricle, left caudate, and corpus callosum. The predicted and true PMA were positively correlated (coefficient = 0.88, p < .001). MAE, RMSE, and ME of the external dataset of HS and DU were 1.57 and 1.33, 1.79 and 1.37, and 0.37 and 0.06 weeks, respectively. The brain maturation index negatively correlated with postnatal age (coefficient = - 0.24, p < .001). CONCLUSION A model that calculates the regional brain volume can predict the PMA of neonates, which can then be utilized to show the brain maturation degree. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT A brain maturity index based on regional volume of neonate's brain can be used to measure brain maturation degree, which can help identify the status of early brain development. KEY POINTS • Neonatal brain MRI segmentation model could be used to assess neonatal brain maturation status. • A postmenstrual age (PMA) prediction model was developed based on a neonatal brain MRI segmentation model. • The brain maturation index, derived from the PMA prediction model, enabled the estimation of the neonatal brain maturation status.

Abstract
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES To propose a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) prediction model for diffuse-type tenosynovial giant cell tumors (D-TSGCTs). MATERIALS AND METHODS Anatomic locations were classified and then nodularity, margin, peripheral and internal hypointensity, and bone and cartilage involvement were evaluated on MRI. Student's t-test, chi-square test, diagnostic performance, logistic regression analysis, and decision tree were performed. RESULTS Nineteen intra-articular (11 localized; eight diffuse) and 55 extra-articular (44 localized; 11 diffuse) TSGCTs were included. Extra-articular D-TSGCTs showed significantly more frequent multinodular (72.7% vs. 25.0%, p = 0.009), and infiltrative lesions (90.9% vs. 34.1%, p = 0.002), without peripheral hypointensity (90.9% vs. 18.2%, p < 0.001), and contained granular internal hypointensity (72.7% vs. 31.8%; p = 0.003) with more frequent bone (81.8% vs. 27.3%; p = 0.003) and cartilage (50.0% vs. 0.0%; p = 0.038) involvement than localized-type. Intra-articular D-TSGCT also showed significance in all MRI features (100.0% vs. 9.1%, p = 0.001; 100.0% vs. 27.3%, p = 0.007; 100.0% vs. 36.4%, p = 0.018; 100.0% vs. 27.3%, p = 0.007; 50.0% vs. 0.0%, p = 0.038), except bone involvement (37.5% vs. 9.1%, p = 0.352) than localized-type. Cartilage involvement revealed the highest specificity (88.6-100.0%), regardless of location. Nodularity (100.0%; odds-ratio [OR]: 70.000) and peripheral hypointensity (90.9%; OR: 62.250) demonstrated the highest sensitivities ORs for D-TSGCT in intra-articular and extra-articular cases, respectively. MRI models for D-TSGCG beginning with the cartilage involvement in both anatomic locations and next on nodularity and peripheral hypointensity in intra-articular and extra-articular locations, respectively, exhibited sensitivity and specificity of 100% and 90.9% for intra-articular and 100% and 77.2% for extra-articular TSGCTs, respectively. CONCLUSION MRI can suggest the risk of D-TSGCT by combining imaging features with anatomic locations.

Abstract
Synovial sarcomas are rare and highly aggressive soft-tissue sarcomas, primarily affecting adolescents and young adults aged 15-40 years. These tumors typically arise in the deep soft tissues, often near the large joints of the extremities. While the radiological features of these tumors are not definitely indicative, the presence of calcification in a soft-tissue mass (occurring in 30% of cases), adjacent to a joint, strongly suggests the diagnosis. Cross-sectional imaging characteristics play a crucial role in diagnosing synovial sarcomas. They often reveal significant characteristics such as multilobulation and pronounced heterogeneity (forming the "triple sign"), in addition to features like hemorrhage and fluid-fluid levels with septa (resulting in the "bowl of grapes" appearance). Nevertheless, the existence of non-aggressive features, such as gradual growth (with an average time to diagnosis of 2-4 years) and small size (initially measuring < 5 cm) with well-defined margins, can lead to an initial misclassification as a benign lesion. Larger size, older age, and higher tumor grade have been established as adverse predictive indicators for both local disease recurrence and the occurrence of metastasis. Recently, the prognostic importance of CT and MRI characteristics for synovial sarcomas was elucidated. These include factors like the absence of calcification, the presence of cystic components, hemorrhage, the bowl of grape sign, the triple sign, and intercompartmental extension. Wide surgical excision remains the established approach for definitive treatment. Gaining insight into and identifying the diverse range of presentations of synovial sarcomas, which correlate with the prognosis, might be helpful in achieving the optimal patient management.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Locally advanced uterine cervical cancer (UCC) is treated by radiotherapy with concurrent chemotherapy, but heterogenous treatment responses are frequently observed. To better optimize therapeutic options based on molecular signatures, we performed proteogenomic analysis of UCC. MATERIALS/METHODS UCC tissue and blood samples were collected from patients who underwent primary radiotherapy ± chemotherapy at the National Cancer Center (NCC) in Korea from July 2004 to March 2020. Most samples were obtained via biopsy. Genomic DNA for WES was isolated from frozen biopsy tumor tissues and peripheral blood buffy-coat of patients. Both global proteome and phosphoproteome were analyzed using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Whole exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, global proteomics and phosphoproteomics were performed using 253, 337, and 147 cervical cancer samples, respectively. Patient-derived xenograft were established using intratongue implantation using 2 primary cell lines from sub3 and sub5, and flow cytometric analysis was performed. RESULTS Fourteen significantly mutated genes (SMG) were found in our study cohort which include 5 newly identified SMGs. Mutation-phosphorylation analysis revealed association with apoptosis and actin cytoskeleton pathway. Proteogenomic analysis defined 6 molecular subtypes of UCC. Of those, 3 subtypes (i.e., Sub3, Sub5 and Sub6) were associated with treatment-resistant phenotypes. The cell-type deconvolution analysis suggested activated stroma with activation of cancer-associated fibroblast in Sub 3, while Sub5 showed low levels of activated stroma and high levels of myeloid immune cells. FACS analysis of UCC mouse models established from these 2 radio-resistant primary cell lines showed high component of PDGFRA+CAF infiltration in Sub 3, and high level of PVR+CD45+ immune cells mainly composed of polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (PMN-MDSC) in Sub5. For Sub6, genes and/or protein signatures represented mucin-related processes (e.g., mucin glycosylation/sugar metabolism), which are linked to metastasis-associated Tn antigen production. CONCLUSION The proteogenomic analysis thus suggests potential targets for radiotherapy-resistant subtypes of UCC; secretory factors from activated stroma and cancer-associated fibroblast (Sub3); RHOA signaling, PVR, and PMN-MDSCs (Sub5), and keratin/chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan and Tn antigen production (Sub6). Our study shows the importance of proteogenomic analysis in unveiling the subtype specific molecular pathways of UCC that are beyond reach by genomic data alone. The validity of our molecular pathway and cellular signatures linking these pathways should be further validated through detailed functional experiments and in larger UCC cohorts.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of the study is to evaluate the stage 3 findings of the 2019 revision of the Association Research Circulation Osseous (ARCO) staging system for osteonecrosis of the femoral head between 3A and 3B and the relationship with bone resorption area. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively enrolled 87 patients with ARCO stage 3 osteonecrosis of the femoral head, divided into stage 3A (n = 73) and 3B (n = 14). The revised stage 3 findings included subchondral fracture, fracture in necrotic portion, and flattening of the femoral head and were compared between stage 3A and 3B. The association between these findings and the causative features of bone resorption area was also evaluated. RESULTS All stage 3 cases had subchondral fractures. In stage 3A, these fractures were generated by crescent sign (41.1%) and by fibrovascular reparative zone in 58.9%; however, in stage 3B, fibrovascular reparative zone generated 92.9% of these fractures and crescent sign only 7.1% with statistical significance ( P = 0.034). Necrotic portion fracture was noted in 36.7% and femoral head flattening was observed in 14.9% of all stage 3. Necrotic portion fracture (92.9% vs 26.0%) and femoral head flattening (71.4% vs 4.1%) were observed more frequently in stage 3B than 3A ( P < 0.001). Almost all subchondral fractures by fibrovascular reparative zone (96.4%) and necrotic portion fracture (96.9%), and all femoral head flattening was presented with bone resorption area with expanding areas. CONCLUSIONS The ARCO stage 3 descriptions reflect severity in this order: subchondral fracture, necrotic portion fracture, and femoral head flattening. More severe findings are usually associated with expanding bone resorption areas.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION This study aimed to identify whether iliac vein compression syndrome(IVCS) is associated with deep vein thrombosis(DVT) after total knee arthroplasty(TKA) and whether lower lumbar degenerative changes were risk factors for IVCS. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 259 consecutive patients who underwent TKA from January 2019 to March 2022 was retrospectively reviewed. Preoperative plain radiographs of lumbar spines and CT venography (CTV) for DVT diagnosis at postoperative 7 days were performed in all patients. Imaging findings of lower lumbar degenerative changes were analyzed on plain radiograph including lateral osteophytes, scoliosis, lateralolisthesis, retrolisthesis, anterolisthesis, and lower lumbar lordosis angle (LLLA). Percent compression at the left common iliac vein (LCIV) and right common iliac vein (RCIV) as well as DVT were evaluated on CTV. Moreover, IVCS was defined as greater than 50% of compression of the iliac vein on CTV. RESULTS DVT occurred in 79 patients (30.5%) after TKA. The overall occurrence of DVT was significantly higher in patients with IVCS of LCIV (52.8%) than those without (18.8%, P < 0.001). When DVT was further subdivided, compared to non-IVCS, IVCS of LCIV was significantly associated with bilateral DVT (P < 0.001, both), especially distal DVT (P < 0.001, both), and IVCS of RCIV was significantly associated with right-side DVT (P = 0.031), especially popliteal (P = 0.008) and distal DVT(P = 0.011). Female patients (OR: 3.945, P = 0.039), presence of left osteophyte (OR: 2.348, P = 0.006), and higher LLLA (OR: 1.082, P < 0.001) were significantly associated with IVCS of LCIV, and presence of right osteophyte (OR: 3.494, P = 0.017) was significantly associated with IVCS of RCIV. CONCLUSION IVCS was significantly associated with DVT after TKA and lumbar degenerative changes with lateral osteophytes and hyperlordosis were significant risk factors for IVCS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Tenosynovial giant cell tumors (TSGCTs) of the knee differ in their clinical outcome according to disease subtypes and severity. The aim of this study was to determine the predictive MRI features related to local recurrence in TSGCT of the knee regarding disease subtypes and severity. METHODS This retrospective study included 20 patients with pathology-proven TSGCT of the knee who underwent preoperative MRI and surgery from Jan. 2007 to Jan. 2022. The anatomical point of the lesion was determined with a knee mapping. And then MRI features related to disease subtype including nodularity (single vs. multinodular); margin (circumscribed vs. infiltrative); peripheral hypointenseity (present vs. absent); internal hypointensity reflecting hemosiderin deposition (speckled vs. granular) were assessed. Third, MRI features related to disease severity including involvement of bone, cartilage, and tendon were evaluated. MRI features for predicting local recurrence of TSGCT were tested using chi-square test and logistic regression analysis. RESULTS Ten patients with diffuse-type TSGCT (D-TSGCT) and 10 patients with localized-type TSGCT (L-TSGCT) were included. There were six cases of local recurrence and all of them were D-TSGCT and none for L-TSGCT with statistical difference (P = 0.015). D-TSGCT that was direct risk factor for local recurrence showed more multinodular (80.0% vs. 10.0%; P = 0.007), infiltrative margin (90.0% vs. 10.0%; P = 0.002), and absent peripheral hypointensity (100.0% vs. 20.0%; P = 0.001) than L-TSGCT. Multivariate analysis showed infiltrative margin (odds ratio [OR], 81.0; P = 0.003) was independent MRI factor for D-TSGCT. Disease severity for risk of local recurrence included cartilage (66.7% vs. 7.1%; P = 0.024) and tendon (100.0% vs. 28.6%; P = 0.015) involvement compared to no local recurrence. Multivariate analysis showed tendon involvement (OR, 12.5; P = 0.042) was predictive MRI parameter for local recurrence. By combining tumor margin and tendon involvement, local recurrence was predicted sensitively on preoperative MRI (sensitivity, 100%; specificity, 50%; accuracy, 65%). CONCLUSION D-TSGCTs was associated with local recurrence and showed multinodularity infiltrative margin, and absent peripheral hypointensity. Disease severity including cartilage and tendon involvement was associated with local recurrence. Preoperative MRI evaluation by combining disease subtypes and severity can predict local recurrence sensitively.

Abstract
Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with an apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value is a relatively new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequence that provides functional information on the lesion by measuring the microscopic movement of water molecules. While numerous studies have evaluated the promising role of DWI in musculoskeletal radiology, most have focused on tumorous diseases related to cellularity. This review article aims to summarize DWI-acquisition techniques, considering pitfalls such as T2 shine-through and T2 black-out, and their usefulness in interpreting musculoskeletal diseases with imaging. DWI is based on the Brownian motion of water molecules within the tissue, achieved by applying diffusion-sensitizing gradients. Regardless of the cellularity of the lesion, several pitfalls must be considered when interpreting DWI with ADC values in musculoskeletal radiology. This review discusses the application of DWI in musculoskeletal diseases, including tumor and tumor mimickers, as well as non-tumorous diseases, with a focus on lesions demonstrating T2 shine-through and T2 black-out effects. Understanding these pitfalls of DWI can provide clinically useful information, increase diagnostic accuracy, and improve patient management when added to conventional MRI in musculoskeletal diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The Fazekas scale is one of the most commonly used visual grading systems for white matter hyperintensity (WMH) for brain disorders like dementia from T2-fluid attenuated inversion recovery magnetic resonance (MR) images (T2-FLAIRs). However, the visual grading of the Fazekas scale suffers from low-intra and inter-rater reliability and high labor-intensive work. Therefore, we developed a fully automated visual grading system using quantifiable measurements. METHODS Our approach involves four stages: (1) the deep learning-based segmentation of ventricles and WMH lesions, (2) the categorization into periventricular white matter hyperintensity (PWMH) and deep white matter hyperintensity (DWMH), (3) the WMH diameter measurement, and (4) automated scoring, following the quantifiable method modified for Fazekas grading. We compared the performances of our method and that of the modified Fazekas scale graded by three neuroradiologists for 404 subjects with T2-FLAIR utilized from a clinical site in Korea. RESULTS The Krippendorff's alpha across our method and raters (A) versus those only between the radiologists (R) were comparable, showing substantial (0.694 vs. 0.732; 0.658 vs. 0.671) and moderate (0.579 vs. 0.586) level of agreements for the modified Fazekas, the DWMH, and the PWMH scales, respectively. Also, the average of areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve between the radiologists (0.80 ± 0.09) and the radiologists against our approach (0.80 ± 0.03) was comparable. CONCLUSIONS Our fully automated visual grading system for WMH demonstrated comparable performance to the radiologists, which we believe has the potential to assist the radiologist in clinical findings with unbiased and consistent scoring.

Abstract
Hypoxia plays an essential role in the pathogenesis of various liver diseases, and albumin is one of the important biomarkers secreted by the liver. In this study, we developed an albumin monitoring system composed of hepatic hypoxia-on-a-chip and an albumin sensor to study liver function change due to hypoxia. In hepatic hypoxia-on-a-chip, we vertically stack an oxygen-scavenging channel on a liver on a chip with a thin gas-permeable membrane in the middle. This unique design of the hepatic hypoxia-on-a-chip can help to induce hypoxia quickly, attaining <5% within 10 min. An electrochemical albumin sensor was fabricated based on the covalent immobilization of antibodies on the Au electrode to monitor albumin secreting function on the hepatic hypoxia-on-a-chip. Standard albumin samples spiked in PBS, and culture media were measured by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy using the fabricated immunosensor. The LOD was calculated to be 10 ag/mL in both cases. Using the electrochemical albumin sensor, we measured albumin secretion in normoxia and hypoxia in the chips. The albumin concentration decreased to 27% after 24 h in hypoxia compared to normoxia. This response was consistent with physiological studies. With technical refinements, the present albumin monitoring system can be a powerful tool in studying hepatic hypoxia with real-time liver function monitoring.

Abstract
An immunoaffinity layer with orientation-controlled antibodies was constructed to express streptococcal protein G in Escherichia coli cells using autodisplay technology. The sequence of protein G, a specific IgG-binding protein, was inserted into the autodisplay vector using recombinant technology and the constructed plasmid vector was transformed into E. coli cells. Protein G was confirmed to be autodisplayed with a high density of 2 × 105 copies per cell by SDS-PAGE analysis, and its IgG-binding affinity was confirmed by fluorescence microscopy. Autodisplayed protein G showed higher affinity than the IgG-binding Z-domain for goat IgG. Immunoassays based on E. coli cells were established to detect horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and C-reactive protein (CRP). Protein G autodisplaying E. coli cells were utilized as a solid support and immunoassays showed improved sensitivity by orientation control of autodisplayed protein G. The outer membrane (OM) of protein G autodisplaying E. coli was isolated and layered to construct an immunoaffinity layer. The OM was coated on a microplate to perform the immunoassays, which showed limits of detection of 5 and 0.2 ng mL-1 for HRP and CRP, respectively. An OM layer with autodisplayed protein G was applied as the immunoaffinity layer of a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor. After CRP detection, the SPR responses showed good linearity, with an R2 value of 0.99. The immunoaffinity layer with orientation control by autodisplayed protein G was confirmed to be applicable in immunoassays and immunosensors to improve sensitivity.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To determine the diagnostic values of deep changes beyond the subchondral bone in osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) to distinguish between Association Research Circulation Osseous (ARCO) stages 2 and 3A. METHODS This retrospective study included 124 hips with ONFH of stages 2 (n = 49; 23 females; mean age, 50.7 years) and 3A (n = 75; 20 females; mean age, 53.2 years) from May 2017 to August 2022, who underwent CT (n = 124) and MRI (n = 85). Deep changes beyond subchondral bone were analyzed on CT (bone resorption area and cystic change) and on MRI (bone marrow edema [BME] and joint effusion). Diagnostic performance and multivariate analysis were evaluated for detecting stage 3A. RESULTS Stage 3A showed more frequent bone resorption area (72.0% vs. 4.1%), cystic change (52.0% vs. 0.0%), BME (93.5% vs. 43.6%), and joint effusion (76.0% vs. 24.5%) than stage 2 (p < 0.001, all). Bone resorption area and cystic change showed low sensitivities (52.0~72.0%) but high specificities (96.0~100.0%), while BME and joint effusion showed high sensitivities (76.0~93.0%) but low specificities (56.0~76.0%) for stage 3A. Predictors were in the order of bone resorption area, cystic change, and joint effusion (odds ratio: 32.952, 26.281, 9.603, respectively), and combined bone resorption area and cystic change had the best predictive value (AUC, 0.900) for stage 3A. CONCLUSIONS Among deep changes, bone resorption area and cystic changes were highly specific and BME and joint effusion were highly sensitive for stage 3A. Combined bone resorption area and cystic change had the best predictive value for predicting ARCO stage 3A. KEY POINTS • The exact classification between ARCO stage 2 and 3A is essential but it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between ARCO stage 2 and 3A only by subchondral fracture, especially early post-collapse stage with preservation of femoral head contour. • The predictors of stage 3A were in the order of bone resorption area, cystic change, and joint effusion and combined bone resorption area and cystic change had the best predictive value for predicting stage 3A. • Analysis of deep changes beyond the subchondral bone may make it easier to distinguish between ARCO stage 2 and 3A.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Data on SAH after M2 mechanical thrombectomy are limited. We aimed to determine the prevalence of sulcal SAH after mechanical thrombectomy for M2 occlusion, its associated predictors, and the resulting clinical outcome. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study retrospectively reviewed the data of patients with acute ischemic stroke who underwent mechanical thrombectomy for isolated M2 occlusion. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to the presence of sulcal SAH after M2 mechanical thrombectomy. Angiographic and clinical outcomes were compared. Multivariable analysis was performed to identify independent predictors of sulcal SAH and unfavorable outcome (90-day mRS, 3-6). RESULTS Of the 209 enrolled patients, sulcal SAH was observed in 33 (15.8%) patients. The sulcal SAH group showed a higher rate of distal M2 occlusion (69.7% versus 22.7%), a higher of rate of superior division occlusion (63.6% versus 43.8%), and a higher M2 angulation (median, 128° versus 106°) than the non-sulcal SAH group. Of the 33 sulcal SAH cases, 23 (66.7%) were covert without visible intraprocedural contrast extravasation. Distal M2 occlusion (OR, 12.04; 95% CI, 4.56-35.67; P < .001), superior division (OR, 3.83; 95% CI, 1.43-11.26; P = .010), M2 angulation (OR, 1.02; 95% CI, 1.01-1.04; P < .001), and the number of passes (OR, 1.58; 95% CI, 1.22-2.09; P < .001) were independent predictors of sulcal SAH. However, covert sulcal SAH was not associated with an unfavorable outcome (P = .830). CONCLUSIONS After mechanical thrombectomy for M2 occlusion, sulcal SAH was not uncommon and occurred more frequently with distal M2 occlusion, superior division, acute M2 angulation, and multiple thrombectomy passes (≥3). The impact of covert sulcal SAH was mostly benign and was not associated with an unfavorable outcome.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to compare the risk of venous thromboembolic events (VTE) between patients suspending and continuing estrogen therapy perioperatively, in male to female gender-affirming surgery (vaginoplasty). MATERIALS AND METHODS The authors conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of existing research on male to female gender-affirming study, which compared the risk of VTE among the usage of estrogen perioperatively. RESULTS A total of 209 studies were identified as potentially eligible among PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane library databases. Among the studies, 191 studies were excluded due to their abstract inappropriateness. Out of the remaining 18 studies, only 3 articles were eligible and were finally included. Meta-analysis was performed and showed odds ratio of 0.77 (95% CI: 0.04, 14.01). CONCLUSIONS Perioperative estrogen therapy does not increase VTE risk on male to female gender-affirming surgery. Therefore, estrogen therapy may be continued perioperatively in vaginoplasty. More prospective studies are needed.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic and leading cause of death. Beyond the deaths directly caused by the virus and the suicides related to the psychological response to the dramatic changes as socioeconomic related to the pandemic, there might also be suicides related to the inflammatory responses of the infection. Infection induces inflammation as a cytokine storm, and there is an increasing number of studies that report a relationship between infection and suicide. MATERIALS AND METHODS We searched the World Health Organization status report and the PubMed database for keywords (COVID-19, suicide, infection, inflammation, cytokines), and reviewed five cytokine pathways between suicide and inflammation using two meta-analyses and two observational studies starting from November 31, 2020, focusing on the relationship between suicide and inflammation by infection. First, we discussed existing evidence explaining the relationship between suicidal behaviors and inflammation. Second, we summarized the inflammatory features found in COVID-19 patients. Finally, we highlight the potential for these factors to affect the risk of suicide in COVID-19 patients. RESULTS Patients infected with COVID-19 have high amounts of IL-1β, IFN-γ, IP10, and MCP1, which may lead to Th1 cell response activation. Also, Th2 cytokines (e.g., IL-4 and IL-10) were increased in COVID-19 infection. In COVID-19 patients, neurological conditions, like headache, dizziness, ataxia, seizures, and others have been observed. CONCLUSIONS COVID-19 pandemic can serve as a significant environmental factor contributing directly to increased suicide risk; the role of inflammation by an infection should not be overlooked.

This review describes the anatomic considerations for diagnosing partial-thickness tears, especially supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendon and summarizes the classification of partial-thickness rotator cuff tears, as well as provides an overview on partial-thickness tears with delamination.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a leading cause of years lived with disability in older age, and several cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) markers have been proposed in individual meta-analyses to be associated with AD but field-wide evaluation and scrutiny of the literature is not available. MATERIALS AND METHODS We performed an umbrella review for the reported associations between CSF biomarkers and AD. Data from available meta-analyses were reanalyzed using both random and fixed effects models. We also estimated between-study heterogeneity, small-study effects, excess significance, and prediction interval. RESULTS A total of 38 meta-analyses on CSF markers from 11 eligible articles were identified and reanalyzed. In 14 (36%) of the meta-analyses, the summary estimate and the results of the largest study showed non-concordant results in terms of statistical significance. Large heterogeneity (I2≥75%) was observed in 73% and small-study effects under Egger's test were shown in 28% of CSF biomarkers. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that there is an excess of statistically significant results and significant biases in the literature of CSF biomarkers for AD. Therefore, the results of CSF biomarkers should be interpreted with caution.

Abstract
Although obesity is known to have an influence on fracture, the relationship between lumbar and femur fractures and weight or waist circumference is controversial. We investigated the incidence of fracture with regards to waist circumference using the customised database of the Korean National Health Insurance Service (NHIS). Among 8,922,940 adults who participated at least twice in the NHIS National Health Check-up Program in South Korea between 2009 and 2011, 1,556,751 subjects (780,074 men and 776,677 women) were extracted. Over a mean follow-up of 6.5 years, multivariate-adjusted logistic regression analysis demonstrated that higher waist circumference was associated with an increased risk of femur fractures in both males and females. Moreover, the incidence of lumbar fractures was also positively associated with an increased waist circumference in males and females. An increased waist circumference showed a positive linear relationship with the risk of lumbar and femur fractures in both males and females.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Data on adjunctive intra-arterial thrombolysis during mechanical thrombectomy for refractory thrombus are sparse. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of local intra-arterial urokinase as an adjunct to mechanical thrombectomy for refractory large-vessel occlusion. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively evaluated patients with acute ischemic stroke who underwent mechanical thrombectomy for anterior circulation large-vessel occlusion between January 2016 and December 2019. Patients were divided into 2 groups based on the use of intra-arterial urokinase as an adjunctive therapy during mechanical thrombectomy for refractory thrombus: the urokinase and nonurokinase groups. Herein, refractory thrombus was defined as the target occlusion with minimal reperfusion (TICI 0 or 1) despite >3 attempts with conventional mechanical thrombectomy. The baseline characteristics, procedural outcomes, and clinical outcome were compared between the 2 groups. RESULTS One hundred fourteen cases of refractory thrombus were identified. A total of 45 and 69 patients were in the urokinase and the nonurokinase groups, respectively. The urokinase group compared with the nonurokinase group showed a higher rate of successful reperfusion (82.2% versus 63.8%, P = .034), with lower procedural times (54 versus 69 minutes, P = .137). The rates of good clinical outcome, distal embolism, and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage were similar between the 2 groups. The use of intra-arterial urokinase (OR = 3.682; 95% CI, 1.156-11.730; P = .027) was an independent predictor of successful reperfusion. CONCLUSIONS The use of local intra-arterial urokinase as an adjunct to mechanical thrombectomy may be an effective and safe method that provides better recanalization than the conventional mechanical thrombectomy for refractory thrombus in patients with embolic large-vessel occlusion.

Abstract
Selecting an appropriate allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) regimen for polysensitised allergic rhinitis (AR) patients is challenging for clinicians. Although previous studies showed comparable effectiveness of single-allergen AIT with house dust mite (HDM) extract between monosensitised and polysensitised AR patients, there is no systematic review and meta-analysis demonstrating the comparable effectiveness of HDM AIT. In this meta-analysis, we analysed nine studies to compare the clinical effectiveness of HDM AIT. The primary outcome was nasal symptom score and secondary outcomes were medication and quality of life scores. The changes in nasal symptom score after HDM AIT did not significantly differ between monosensitised and polysensitised patients. The clinical effectiveness of HDM AIT regarding medication and quality of life score was not significantly different between monosensitised and polysensitised patients). In conclusion, single-allergen AIT with HDM extract showed comparable clinical effectiveness between polysensitised and monosensitised patients with AR.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), a receptor targeted by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is highly expressed in the nasal mucosa. Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) shows diverse endotypes and is aggravated by viral infection. Whether viral stimulation and CRS endotype influence ACE2 expression remains unclear. We investigated the expression of ACE2 and the transmembrane protease, serine 2 (TMPRSS2), which mediate the entry of SARS-CoV-2 into cells, and assessed polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid (poly[I:C])-induced changes based on CRS endotype. METHODOLOGY ACE2 and TMPRSS2 expression was evaluated based on CRS phenotype, endotype, and tissue type. Correlations between ACE2/TMPRSS2 expression and inflammatory mediators in nasal polyps (NP) were examined. Air-liquid interface culture experiments were performed to assess the effects of major cytokines or poly(I:C) stimulation on ACE2/TMPRSS2 expression in primary epithelial cells from healthy nasal mucosa, eosinophilic NP (ENP), and non-eosinophilic NP (NENP). RESULTS In primary nasal epithelial cells, interleukin (IL)-13 decreased ACE2 expression but increased TMPRSS2. Eosinophilic CRS showed lower ACE2 expression than non-eosinophilic CRS, regardless of CRS phenotype. CRS endotype was an independent factor associated with ACE2/TMPRSS2 expression in NP. Serum and tissue eosinophilic marker levels were inversely correlated with ACE2 expression, whereas tissue neutrophilic marker levels and ACE2 expression were positively correlated in NP. ACE2 expression was suppressed in ENP tissues; however, a combination of poly(I:C) and IL-13 induced ACE2/TMPRSS2 upregulation in ENP. CONCLUSIONS ENP tissues have lower ACE2 expression than NENP; however, viral stimulation promotes ACE2/TMPRSS2 upregulation in ENP.

Abstract
Biomarkers play a vital role in clinical care. They enable early diagnosis and treatment by identifying a patient's condition and disease course and act as an outcome measure that accurately evaluates the efficacy of a new treatment or drug. Due to the rapid development of digital technologies, digital biomarkers are expected to grow tremendously. In the era of change, this scoping review was conducted to see which digital biomarkers are progressing in neuromuscular disorders, a diverse and broad-range disease group among the neurological diseases, to discover available evidence for their feasibility and reliability. Thus, a total of 10 studies were examined: 9 observational studies and 1 animal study. Of the observational studies, studies were conducted with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) patients. Non-peer reviewed poster presentations were not considered, as the articles may lead to erroneous results. The only animal study included in the present review investigated the mice model of ALS for detecting rest disturbances using a non-invasive digital biomarker.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Although many previous meta-analyses of epidemiological studies have demonstrated a relationship between body mass index (BMI) and mortality, inconsistent findings among cardiovascular disease patients have been observed. Thus, we performed an umbrella review to understand the strength of evidence and validity of claimed associations between BMI and mortality in patients with cardiovascular diseases. MATERIALS AND METHODS We comprehensively re-analyzed the data of meta-analyses of observational studies and randomized controlled trials on associations between BMI and mortality among patients with cardiovascular diseases. We also assessed the strength of evidence of the re-analyzed outcomes, which were determined from the criteria including statistical significance of the p-value of random-effects, as well as fixed-effects meta-analyses, small-study effects, between-study heterogeneity, and a 95% prediction interval. RESULTS We ran comprehensive re-analysis of the data from the 21 selected studies, which contained a total of 108 meta-analyses; 23 were graded as convincing evidence and 12 were suggestive, 42 were weak, and 23 were non-significant. CONCLUSIONS Underweight increased mortality in acute coronary syndrome (ACS), heart failure, and after therapeutic intervention for patients with cardiovascular diseases. Overweight, on the other hand decreased mortality in patient's ACS, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure with convincing evidence.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in the differentiation of bone plasmacytoma from bone metastasis in the extremities. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 65 patients with 27 bone plasmacytomas (11 men; mean age, 63.6±8.2 [SD] years) and 38 patients with bone metastases (20 men; mean age, 64.1±11.5 [SD] years) were retrospectively included. Plasmacytomas and metastases were compared for size, peritumoral edema, signal intensity (SI), SI pattern, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values and standard deviation (SD) of ADC. Receiver operating characteristic analysis with area under the curve (AUC) was used to calculate sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of MRI and DWI for the diagnosis of plasmacytoma according to a defined cut-off value. RESULTS On conventional MRI, plasmacytomas showed less peritumoral edema (22% vs. 71%; P<0.001), were more often hyperintense on T1-weighted image (48% vs. 18%; P=0.022) and more homogeneous on T2-weighted image (78% vs. 26%; P<0.001) and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images (70% vs. 25%; P=0.001) than bone metastases. Mean ADC value and SD of ADC were significantly lower in bone plasmacytomas (760.1±196.9 [SD] μm2/s and 161.5±62.7 [SD], respectively) than in bone metastases (1214.2±382.6 [SD] μm2/s and 277.0±110.3 [SD], respectively) (P<0.001). Using an ADC value≤908.3μm2/s, DWI yielded 88% sensitivity and 78% specificity for the diagnosis of plasmacytoma. ADC value yielded best area under the curve (AUC=0.913), followed by SD of ADC (AUC=0.814) and homogeneity on T2-weighted images (AUC=0.757). The combination of conventional MRI and DWI (AUC=0.894) showed improved diagnostic performance over conventional MRI alone (AUC= 0.843) for discriminating between plasmacytoma and metastasis. CONCLUSION Conventional MRI in combination with DWI can be useful to discriminate between bone plasmacytoma and bone metastasis in the extremities.

Abstract
White-matter hyperintensity (WMH) is a primary biomarker for small-vessel cerebrovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease (AD), and others. The association of WMH with brain structural changes has also recently been reported. Although fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provide valuable information about WMH, FLAIR does not provide other normal tissue information. The multi-modal analysis of FLAIR and T1-weighted (T1w) MRI is thus desirable for WMH-related brain aging studies. In clinical settings, however, FLAIR is often the only available modality. In this study, we thus propose a semi-supervised learning method for full brain segmentation using FLAIR. The results of our proposed method were compared with the reference labels, which were obtained by FreeSurfer segmentation on T1w MRI. The relative volume difference between the two sets of results shows that our proposed method has high reliability. We further evaluated our proposed WMH segmentation by comparing the Dice similarity coefficients of the reference and the results of our proposed method. We believe our semi-supervised learning method has a great potential for use for other MRI sequences and will encourage others to perform brain tissue segmentation using MRI modalities other than T1w.

Introduction
Although atrial fibrillation (AF) catheter ablation is effective for rhythm control, in some patients it is hard to maintain sinus rhythm in spite of repeated AF catheter ablation (AFCA) procedures and anti-arrhythmic drugs (AADs). We explored the pre-procedural predictors for poor responders to AFCA and tested whether artificial intelligence (AI) assists the prediction of poor responders in the independent cohort by determining the invasive parameters.
Methods
Among 1,214 patients who underwent AFCA and regular rhythm follow-up for 56.2 ± 33.8 months (59 ± 11 years, 73.5% male, 68.6% paroxysmal AF), we differentiated 92 poor responders defined as those with sustained AF despite repeat AFCAs, AADs, or electrical cardioversion. Using the Youden index, we identified advanced LA remodeling with lower LA voltage under 1.109mV. AI model, which was derived from development cohort using medical record, was applied to predict LA voltage <1.109mV in the independent cohort (n = 634, poor responders = 24) using a grad-cam score.
Results
The patients with lower LA voltage under 1.109mV showed significantly poorer rhythm outcomes (Log-rank p < 0.001). We determined invasive parameter LA voltage by using the multiple variables (age, female sex, AF type, CHA2DS2VASc score, LA dimension, E/em, hemoglobin, PR interval) and achieved relatively good prediction power of AI for LA voltage <1.109mV (AUC = 0.734, sensitivity 0.729, specificity 0.643) in the test cohort. In the independent cohort, the AI model showed good discrimination power for poor responders (AUC 0.751, p < 0.001) by estimating LA voltage, which is an invasive variable. The patients with predicted lower LA voltage (grad-cam score <0) showed poorer rhythm outcome after active rhythm control (Log-rank p < 0.001)
Conclusions
The patients with advanced atrial remodeling with low LA voltage, which can be predicted by an AI, showed significantly higher recurrence of AF after AFCA with AADs or cardioversion. AI may assist to select these poor responder patients before the AFCA procedure. Abstract Figure.

Abstract
Discovery of two dimensional (2D) magnets, showing intrinsic ferromagnetic (FM) or antiferromagnetic (AFM) orders, has accelerated development of novel 2D spintronics, in which all the key components are made of van der Waals (vdW) materials and their heterostructures. High-performing and energy-efficient spin functionalities have been proposed, often relying on current-driven manipulation and detection of the spin states. In this regard, metallic vdW magnets are expected to have several advantages over the widely-studied insulating counterparts, but have not been much explored due to the lack of suitable materials. Here, we report tunable itinerant ferro- and antiferromagnetism in Co-doped Fe4GeTe2 utilizing the vdW interlayer coupling, extremely sensitive to the material composition. This leads to high TN antiferromagnetism of TN ~ 226 K in a bulk and ~210 K in 8 nm-thick nanoflakes, together with tunable magnetic anisotropy. The resulting spin configurations and orientations are sensitively controlled by doping, magnetic field, and thickness, which are effectively read out by electrical conduction. These findings manifest strong merits of metallic vdW magnets as an active component of vdW spintronic applications. Metallic van der Waals magnets have considerable technological promise, due to their ability to be strongly coupled with electronic currents and integrated in two dimensional heterostructures. Here, Seo et al. demonstrate highly tunable itinerant antiferromagnetism in a van der Waals magnet.

Abstract
Cancer stem cells (CSCs) play an important role in cancer recurrence and metastasis. It is suggested that the CSC properties in heterogeneous cancer cells can be induced by ionizing radiation (IR). This study investigated the role of DLX2 in the radioresistance and CSC properties induced by IR in NSCLC cancer cells. Here, A549 cells were exposed to fractionated irradiation at a cumulative dose of 52 Gy (4 Gy × 13 times) for a generation of radioresistant cells. After fractionated irradiation, surviving A549 cells exhibited resistance to IR and enhanced expression of various cancer stem cell markers. They also showed upregulation of mesenchymal molecular markers and downregulation of epithelial molecular markers, correlating with an increase in the migration and invasion. Fractionated irradiation triggered the secretion of TGF-β1 and DLX2 expression. Interestingly, the increased DLX2 following fractionated irradiation seemed to induce the expression of the gene for the EGFR-ligand betacellulin via Smad2/3 signaling. To contrast, DLX2 knockdown dramatically decreased the expression of CSC markers, migration, and proliferation. Moreover, A549 cells expressing DLX2 shRNA formed tumors with a significantly smaller volume compared to those expressing control shDNA in a mouse xenograft assay. These results suggest that DLX2 overexpression in surviving NSCLC cancer cells after fractionated IR exposure is involved in the cancer stemness, radioresistance, EMT, tumor survival, and tumorigenic capability.

Background
Current guidelines suggest the presence of non-sustained ventricular tachycardia (NSVT) as a risk factor of sudden cardiac death in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). However, high burden of premature ventricular contraction (PVC) may reflect myocardial fibrosis although the absence of NSVT.
Purpose
We investigated the association between PVC burden and myocardial extracellular space expansion in HCM patients without NSVT.
Methods
Of the 212 patients prospectively enrolled to the HCM registry of genetics, 84 patients were evaluated with both cardiac magnetic resonance and 24hr holter. Among them, 71 patients (58 males, mean age: 71 ± 13 years) have not been diagnosed with NSVT.
Results
Patients with NSVT (n = 13) showed more impaired LA functional indices and higher myocardial fibrosis burden compared with patients without NSVT (n = 71). Among patients who have not been diagnosed with NSVT, patients with late gadolinium enhancement (LGE, n = 46) had a higher total beats (109 ± 332 vs. 7 ± 13 beats per a day, p = 0.003) and burden (0.114 ± 0.225 vs. 0.008 ± 0.014 %, p = 0.003) of PVC during 24-hour compared with patients without LGE (n = 25). %LGE was correlated with total beats of PVC (r = 0.358, p = 0.002) and PVC burden (r = 0.377, p = 0.001). ECV also correlated with total beats of PVC (r = 0.387, p = 0.001) and PVC burden (r = 0.401, p = 0.001). The optimal cutoff value for PVC number was 45 (37.0% of sensitivity and 100% of specificity) with 0.733 of the area under the ROC curve (p < 0.001). Pathogenic or likely pathogenic sarcomere mutation was higher in NSVT group than no NSVT group (p < 0.05), and had a higher tendency in higher PVC burden group (0.05 < p < 0.1) than lower PVC burden group.
Conclusions
Total beats and burden of PVC are significantly related to increase in myocardial fibrosis in HCM patients without NSVT.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia and the prevalence rapidly increased as the elderly population increased worldwide. In the contemporary model of AD, it is regarded as a disease continuum involving preclinical stage to severe dementia. For accurate diagnosis and disease monitoring, objective index reflecting structural change of brain is needed to correctly assess a patient's severity of neurodegeneration independent from the patient's clinical symptoms. The main aim of this paper is to develop a random forest (RF) algorithm-based prediction model of AD using structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). METHODS We evaluated diagnostic accuracy and performance of our RF based prediction model using newly developed brain segmentation method compared with the Freesurfer's which is a commonly used segmentation software. RESULTS Our RF model showed high diagnostic accuracy for differentiating healthy controls from AD and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) using structural MRI, patient characteristics, and cognitive function (HC vs. AD 93.5%, AUC 0.99; HC vs. MCI 80.8%, AUC 0.88). Moreover, segmentation processing time of our algorithm (<5 minutes) was much shorter than of Freesurfer's (6-8 hours). CONCLUSION Our RF model might be an effective automatic brain segmentation tool which can be easily applied in real clinical practice.

Abstract
Multi-label brain segmentation from brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides valuable structural information for most neurological analyses. Due to the complexity of the brain segmentation algorithm, it could delay the delivery of neuroimaging findings. Therefore, we introduce Split-Attention U-Net (SAU-Net), a convolutional neural network with skip pathways and a split-attention module that segments brain MRI scans. The proposed architecture employs split-attention blocks, skip pathways with pyramid levels, and evolving normalization layers. For efficient training, we performed pre-training and fine-tuning with the original and manually modified FreeSurfer labels, respectively. This learning strategy enables involvement of heterogeneous neuroimaging data in the training without the need for many manual annotations. Using nine evaluation datasets, we demonstrated that SAU-Net achieved better segmentation accuracy with better reliability that surpasses those of state-of-the-art methods. We believe that SAU-Net has excellent potential due to its robustness to neuroanatomical variability that would enable almost instantaneous access to accurate neuroimaging biomarkers and its swift processing runtime compared to other methods investigated.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Clinical information that distinguishes invasive nail unit melanoma from nail unit melanoma in situ before surgery would aid physicians in the decision-making process and estimating prognosis. However, limited information is available on the detailed demographic and dermoscopic features of invasive nail unit melanoma and nail unit melanoma in situ for differential diagnosis. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the demographic data and dermoscopic features of invasive nail unit melanoma and nail unit melanoma in situ and establish a predictive model for differentiating these two forms of nail unit melanoma. METHODS A retrospective observational study of ninety-seven patients diagnosed with nail unit melanoma (59 in situ and 38 invasive cases) in four healthcare centres in South Korea (three tertiary referral hospitals and one second referral hospital) from March 2014 to December 2019. RESULTS A multivariable analysis revealed that ulcer (odds ratio = 21.6, confidence interval = 2.1-219.8, P = 0.009), total melanonychia (odds ratio = 17.6, confidence interval = 3.0-104.0, P = 0.002), nail plate destruction (odds ratio = 10.9, confidence interval = 2.0-59.4, P = 0.006) and polychromia (odds ratio = 5.3, confidence interval = 1.36-20.57, P = 0.016) were distinctive dermoscopic features of invasive nail unit melanoma. A predictive model with scores ranging from 0 to 6 points demonstrated a reliable diagnostic value (C-statistic = 0.902) in differentiating invasive nail unit melanoma from nail unit melanoma in situ. CONCLUSIONS Invasive nail unit melanoma and nail unit melanoma in situ have different dermoscopic features. A predictive model based on morphologic dermoscopic features could aid in differentiating invasive nail unit melanoma from nail unit melanoma in situ.

Abstract
We report a search result for a light sterile neutrino oscillation with roughly 2200 live days of data in the RENO experiment. The search is performed by electron antineutrino (ν[over ¯]_{e}) disappearance taking place between six 2.8 GW_{th} reactors and two identical detectors located at 294 m (near) and 1383 m (far) from the center of the reactor array. A spectral comparison between near and far detectors can explore reactor ν[over ¯]_{e} oscillations to a light sterile neutrino. An observed spectral difference is found to be consistent with that of the three-flavor oscillation model. This yields limits on sin^{2}2θ_{14} in the 10^{-4}≲|Δm_{41}^{2}|≲0.5 eV^{2} region, free from reactor ν[over ¯]_{e} flux and spectrum uncertainties. The RENO result provides the most stringent limits on sterile neutrino mixing at |Δm_{41}^{2}|≲0.002 eV^{2} using the ν[over ¯]_{e} disappearance channel.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Differences in molecular properties between one-molar and half-molar gadolinium-based contrast agents are thought to affect parameters obtained from dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging. The aim of our study was to investigate differences in dynamic contrast-enhanced parameters between one-molar nonionic gadobutrol and half-molar ionic gadoterate meglumine in patients with posttreatment glioma. MATERIALS AND METHODS This prospective study enrolled 32 patients who underwent 2 20-minute dynamic contrast-enhanced examinations, one with gadobutrol and one with gadoterate meglumine. The model-free parameter of area under the signal intensity curve from 30 to 1100 seconds and the Tofts model-based pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated and compared intraindividually using paired t tests. Patients were further divided into progression (n = 12) and stable (n = 20) groups, which were compared using Student t tests. RESULTS Gadobutrol and gadoterate meglumine did not show any significant differences in the area under the signal intensity curve or pharmacokinetic parameters of K trans, Ve, Vp, or Kep (all P > .05). Gadobutrol showed a significantly higher mean wash-in rate (0.83 ± 0.64 versus 0.29 ± 0.63, P = .013) and a significantly lower mean washout rate (0.001 ± 0.0001 versus 0.002 ± 0.002, P = .02) than gadoterate meglumine. Trends toward higher area under the curve, K trans, Ve, Vp, wash-in, and washout rates and lower Kep were observed in the progression group in comparison with the treatment-related-change group, regardless of the contrast agent used. CONCLUSIONS Model-free and pharmacokinetic parameters did not show any significant differences between the 2 gadolinium-based contrast agents, except for a higher wash-in rate with gadobutrol and a higher washout rate with gadoterate meglumine, supporting the interchangeable use of gadolinium-based contrast agents for dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging in patients with posttreatment glioma.

Abstract
UNLABELLED The effect of anti-resorptive drug (ARD) usage among patients with successful dental implant osseointegration is controversial. This study showed an increased risk of implant failure in ARD users. Risk factors included pre-existing marginal bone loss, overdenture, diabetes, and a short interval between implant placement and ARD administration. INTRODUCTION This retrospective study aimed to determine whether anti-resorptive drug (ARD) usage increased risk of implant failure among patients with successful implant osseointegration. Additionally, the study investigated risk factors that affected implant survival rate in ARD users. METHODS Eighty ARD users with 344 implants who had more than 12 months of follow-up from the initiation of ARD treatment during the period between 2008 and 2017 were included, along with 80 non-ARD users from the same period. The primary outcome was dental implant survival. Kaplan-Meier survival curves and Cox proportional hazard models were used for survival analysis. RESULTS Average follow-up was 85.3 months. Implant survival rates were 89.83% in ARD users and 96.03% in non-ARD users. In the univariate Cox proportional hazard model, risk of implant failure was significantly higher in patients with pre-existing marginal bone loss (MBL), diabetes, and concurrent bone augmentation. However, risk of implant failure was significantly lower when the interval between implant placement and ARD administration was < 36 months. Compared with overdenture, single crown and fixed splinted users had lower risk of implant failure. In multivariate analysis, variables including pre-existing MBL, diabetes, < 36-month interval between implant placement and ARD treatment, and usage of fixed splinted prosthesis were significantly associated with increased risk of implant failure. CONCLUSIONS ARD administration after implant osseointegration was correlated with a reduced implant survival rate. Pre-existing MBL, diabetes, type of final prosthesis, and the interval between implant placement and initiation of ARD administration influenced risk of implant failure.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hutchinson's nail sign (HS) is among the diagnostic criteria for subungual melanoma (SUM). However, there is minimal evidence supporting the overall clinical significance of HS in SUM. OBJECTIVES To identify clinicopathological features of SUM according to the extent of HS. METHODS Retrospective cohort study was performed with consecutive SUM patients at a single centre from January 2006 to December 2017. The extent of HS was defined by the number of affected nail folds (range 0-4). Comparison groups were organized as follows: patients with HS (affecting ≥1 nail folds) vs. without HS; patients with HS affecting ≥2 nail folds vs. HS affecting <2 nail folds; patients with HS affecting ≥3 nail folds vs. HS affecting <3 nail folds. Clinicopathological characteristics of SUM were compared between the groups. RESULTS Sixty-one SUM patients were included. Forty-six (75.4%) exhibited HS; 22 (47.8%) on a toe and 24 (52.2%) on a finger. In multivariate analysis, nail destruction [hazard ratio (HR), 10.00; 95% confidence interval (CI), 2.61-38.30; P = 0.001] was significantly associated with the presence of HS and amputation was significantly associated with HS affecting ≥2 nail folds (HR, 4.75; 95% CI, 1.36-16.61; P = 0.015). High T stage (HR, 1.85; 95% CI, 1.20-2.85; P = 0.005, Fig. 2) was significantly associated with HS appearing in ≥3 nail folds. CONCLUSION Besides its value of detecting SUM, HS provides useful clinical information. The number of nail folds exhibiting HS could be a useful clinical clue for planning therapeutic strategies for SUM.

Abstract
SETTING: In Korea, the price of a pack of cigarettes increased 80% from US$2.2 to US$4 in 2015. The smoking rate decreased in 2015. However, it rebounded in the following year.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the characteristics associated with this rebound in smoking rate following the price increase.DESIGN: We analysed the KNHANES (Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) data of 44 015 participants to evaluate current smoking rate and the proportion of smokers planning to quit within 6 months from 2010 to 2016. We also performed focused analysis of 18 303 participants between 2014 and 2016 KNHANES to determine the current smoking rate according to their demographic and socio-economic characteristics.RESULTS: Individuals who were older, female, unemployed, had a low household income or a shorter total smoking period, or smoked less per day were more likely to stop or reduce smoking after the price increase. The current smoking rate increased to 18.8% in 2016 from 17.7% in 2015; this difference was significant in men, those in the lower-middle quartile of household income, those with a middle-school or college education, and those who were employed.CONCLUSION: The rebound in smoking after the price increase was significantly related to the individual's sex, income, education and employment status.

Abstract
Objective To compare the symptoms and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings between digital peripheral nerve sheath tumor (PNST) and major-nerve PNST. Methods A total 36 cases with benign PNSTs (16 digital, 20 major-nerve) were enrolled. Chief complaint and Tinel sign were reviewed. Five classic MRI features of PNST, the signal intensity (SI), the enhancement, and the shape of tumor were evaluated on MRI. Results Half of each group showed tenderness. Tinel sign was less frequent in digital PNST (12.5%) than major-nerve PNST (95.0%, P < 0.001). Split fat sign, entering and exiting nerve, target sign, and thin hyperintense rim were only observed in major-nerve PNST (P = <0.001, <0.001, 0.492, and 0.002, respectively). Fascicular sign was found in digital PNSTs (31.3%), but more frequent in major-nerve PNST (P < 0.001). In digital PNSTs, mild hyperintense SIs (56.2%) on T1-weighted images (T1-WI) was noted, but none in major-nerve PNST (P < 0.001). Both groups showed hyperintense SIs on T2-WI (P = 0.371). Homogeneity on T2-WI was noted in 43.8% of digital PNSTs, but none in major-nerve PNSTs (P = 0.004). Both groups showed heterogeneous enhancement (P = 0.066), but four (25%) digital PNSTs showed homogeneous enhancement. Lobulated shape was noted in 50% of digital PNSTs but none of major-nerve PNSTs (P = 0.001). Digital nerve was involved at 81.3% of digital PNSTs. Three foot cases showed unusual manifestations: bone destruction, skin thickening, and subungual location. Conclusion In digital PNSTs, Tinel sign is not commonly found and classic MRI findings is insufficient. In addition, some digital PNSTs show different SI and enhancement from major-nerve PNSTs. However, digital soft tissue tumor involving digital neurovascular bundle and especially representing a fascicular sign should be considered the possibility of a digital PNST.
