Abstract
Objectives: Primary cardiac involvement (SSc-PHI) in systemic sclerosis is an important prognostic factor. We aimed to characterize and identify subclinical SSc-PHI using cardiovascular MRI to determine whether disease severity and serum biomarkers are associated with subclinical SSc-PHI. Methods: A total of 26 patients with SSc who had no history of cardiovascular disease or pulmonary hypertension underwent 3 T-enhanced cardiovascular MRI. Measurements included native T1, extracellular volume, advanced gadolinium enhancement, T2 mapping, and left ventricular volume function. Troponin T and N telencephalic natriuretic peptide precursors were also determined. Results: LGE was observed in 13 of 26 patients (50.0%), suggesting focal fibrosis, and T2 mapping was significantly higher in the dcSSc group than in the lcSSc group (P=0.009). Left ventricular volume and function were within the normal range in all patients, but final systolic left ventricular volume was significantly higher in dcSSc than in lcSSc (P=0.021). The modified Rodnan skin score (mRSS) was significantly higher in patients with LGE focal fibrosis (P=0.019). Logistic regression analysis confirmed the association between mRSS and LGE (OR=1.224, P=0.037). In multivariate analysis, T2 mapping was negatively correlated with disease course, and was correlated with dcSSc and fingertip ulcer (R2=0.711, P=0.018, P=0.013, P=0.030). Troponin T was correlated with T2 mapping (r=0.555, P=0.049). Conclusions: Subclinical SSc-PHI is characterized by diffuse and focal myocardial fibrosis, but preserves myocardial systolic function. Subclinical SSC-Phi is associated with TNT, SSc disease severity, and complex peripheral vascular disease. These data provide information for identifying individuals at risk of SSc-PHI.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the space-time evolution trend of population aging at the county level in Jiangsu Province from 1990 to 2020. Methods: Taking each county of Jiangsu Province as the research object, we selected data from the fourth to the seventh national population censuses. We used the aging coefficient and age concentration rate as static and dynamic indicators to measure the degree of population aging, respectively. We also used spatial correlation analysis to study the spatial and temporal patterns and evolution characteristics of aging in counties in Jiangsu Province. Results: The degree of aging in each county of Jiangsu Province has been deepening, and the degree of aging gradually evolves from high in southern Jiangsu and low in northern Jiangsu to high in central Jiangsu and low in southern and northern Jiangsu and shows obvious spatial aggregation. From 1990 to 2020, the population aging in Jiangsu Province has accelerated, among which the aging from 2010-2020 is the fastest. The aging progress appeares the fastest in 2010-2020. Conclusion: From 1990 to 2020, population aging in Jiangsu Province has been deepening, with the fastest progress in the last decade and an obvious spatial aggregation.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship of social support to patients with schizophrenia, family burden with patients' quality of life and family life satisfaction. Methods: Multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling was used to select 358 patients with schizophrenia and 358 patients' family members in Gansu Province who met the inclusion criteria were included. The Social Support Rating Scale, Family Burden Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale and Quality of Life Scale were used in the survey. AMOS 24.0 was used to explore the pathway of influence of family burden on social support to patients with schizophrenia, patients' quality of life and patients' family life satisfaction. Results: There was a two-by-two significant correlation between patients' access to social support, family burden, patients' life quality and family life satisfaction (P<0.05), and the total score of the social support scale negatively predicted the total score of the life quality scale (β=-0.28, P<0.05) and positively predicted the total score of the life satisfaction scale (β=0.52, P<0.05). Family burden was a full mediator between the social support to the patient and the patient's quality of life, and as a partial mediator between the social support to the patient and the family's life satisfaction. Conclusions: Social support to people with schizophrenia is a significant predictor of their quality of life and family life satisfaction. Family burden mediates the relationship of social support to patients with their quality of life and family life satisfaction. Interventions can focus on increasing social support for the patient and reducing the burden on the patient's family to improve the patient's quality of life and increase the satisfaction of the patient's family.

Abstract
To study of premature/early death of autistic patients from the perspective of life course can help families, medical institutions and policy makers better deal with the adverse effects of autism. Several studies have shown that autistic patients have a high risk of death, however, the results are still inconsistent. To assess the risk of mortality among the autistic patients, we undertook a comprehensive search of MEDLINE, Web of Science and EMBASE databases. This paper reviewed the studies on the negative disease outcomes of autism spectrum disorders, including the risk of death, causes of death and several research hotspots in this field. Strict inclusion/exclusion criteria were used. Information was extracted from selected papers, tabulated and synthesized. In the study, 15 studies were included, with a total of 216 045 individuals. The main outcome was all-cause mortality in association with autism and the secondary outcome was cause-specific mortality. The results showed that all-cause mortality was higher for the autistic patients (RR=2.32, 95%CI: 1.98-2.72, I2=87.1%, P < 0.001). Risk ratio showed a greater inequality for female than male (male: RR=2.00, 95%CI: 1.57-2.55, I2=93.2%, P < 0.001; female: RR=4.66, 95%CI: 3.30-6.58, I2=92.0%, P < 0.001). Compared with the unnatural death, the risk of natural death was higher (RR=3.44, 95%CI: 1.27-9.26, I2=80.2%, P=0.025). As autism had many comorbidities, which would bring more health risks and natural deaths possibilities. There were some structural differences in unnatural death. Accidental injury death and suicide were two kinds of causes. Lacking social skills would weaken the ability to ask for help when encountering injuries. This paper put forward some suggestions for futures. First, to well study the comorbidity can reduce the risk of death from a medical point of view. Second, the scientists and policymakers should pay attention to the social environment and provide a safer environment for the autistic patients. Third, for women and for adolescents without cognitive impairment, due to their high risk of suicide, the society should provide them with more supportive social networks and improve their life satisfaction. Fourth, it is necessary to balance the rehabilitation resources in various regions in China and provide more high-quality lifelong rehabilitation monitoring and care services.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To systematically evaluate the risk factors for developing diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). METHODS The Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, SinoMed, CNKI, VIP, and Wanfang Data were searched for relevant studies on DFU risk factors, and the search time frame was from database creation to March 2022. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3. RESULTS A total of 26 publications were included, including 3 cohort studies, 22 case-control studies, and one cross-sectional study. Meta-analysis showed that advanced age [MD = 6.04, 95% CI (3.92, 8.16)], male [OR = 1.84, 95% CI (1.48, 2.29)], elevated body mass index [MD = 1.58, 95% CI (0.47, 2.69)], prolonged duration of diabetes [MD = 2.72, 95% CI (2.33, 3.11)], comorbid nephropathy [OR = 3.15, 95% CI (2.68, 4.60)], comorbid neuropathy [OR = 4.80, 95% CI (2.79, 8.27)], comorbid retinopathy [OR = 3.37, 95% CI (2.26, 5.02)], elevated systolic blood pressure [OR = 8.19, 95% CI (6.33, 10.05)], elevated fasting glucose [MD = 1.60, 95% CI (0.21, 3.00)], elevated glycated hemoglobin [MD = 1.24, 95% CI (0.94, 1.54)], elevated triglycerides [MD = 0.44 (95% CI (0.15, 0.73)], elevated fibrinogen [MD = 1.35, 95% CI (0.62, 2.08)], elevated white blood cell count [MD = 2.56, 95% CI (2.24, 2.88)], elevated C-reactive protein [MD = 15.08, 95% CI (8.03, 22.13)], decreased ankle-brachial ratio [MD = -0.26, 95% CI (-0.36, -0.16)], and decreased total protein levels [MD = -4.58, 95% CI (-6.91, -2.25)] were risk factors for developing DFU (p < 0.05), and increased HDL cholesterol levels [MD = -0.22, 95% CI (-0.36, -0.08)] were protective factor for developing DFU (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION There are many risk factors for developing of ulcers in the diabetic feet, and early prevention and intervention should be performed as early as possible to assess the risk of developing diabetic foot patients.

Abstract
Objective: To explore and compare the preventive effect of using letrozole and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist during luteal phase of patients at high risk for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Methods: A total of 99 infertile women undergoing in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer or intracytoplasmic sperm injection with high risk for OHSS were enrolled in this randomized controlled trial.The letrozole group (n=51) received letrozole of 7.5 mg daily for 3 days;the GnRH antagonist group (n=48) were given cetrorelix of 0.25 mg subcutaneously daily for 3 days. Both groups received support therapy combined with embryo cryopreservation. The incidence of OHSS was surveyed. And the serum concentration of estradiol, LH and progesterone on days 3, 5 and 8 after oocytes retrieval were measured. Results: There were no statistical differences in terms of baseline characteristics of patients and outcomes of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation between the two groups.The incidence of moderate and severe OHSS was found no significantly difference between letrozole group [11.8%(6/51)] and GnRH antagonist group [10.4%(5/48);P>0.05]. The estradiol concentration of the indicated days on days 3,5 and 8 after oocytes retrieval in letrozole group and GnRH antagonist group were (1 417±3 543) versus (15 210±9 921) pmol/L, (1 692±4 330) versus (18 680±11 567) pmol/L, (239±336) versus (3 582±5 427) pmol/L, respectively;compared with GnRH antagonist group, the estradiol level was significantly lower in the letrozole group (all P<0.01). The luteinizing hormone level in the letrozole group were (0.46±0.40), (0.56±0.55)and (0.67±0.58) U/L on days 3,5 and 8 after oocytes retrieval, which were significantly higher than those of GnRH antagonist group [(0.28±0.28), (0.30±0.19) and (0.45±0.37) U/L, respectively; all P<0.05]. There was no obvious differences on progesterone levels between letrozole group and GnRH antagonist group (all P>0.05),and on days 8 after oocytes retrieval,the level of progesterone in each group were significantly lower than those on day 3 and 5 after oocytes retrieval (P<0.05). Conclusion: Letrozole has the same efficiency as GnRH antagonist for the prevention of OHSS, faster and cheaper to use, but its efficacy seems not to be related to the suppression of steroidogenic during the luteal phase.

Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic significance of the serum γ-glutamyltransferase (γ-GT)-to-prealbumin ratio (GPR) and whether combining this ratio with other parameters can lead to an improved prognostic value for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undergoing transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with local ablation therapy. Methods A total of 235 HCC patients who were treated with combined therapies were retrospectively analyzed. The demographic data and clinicopathological data were collected. A fibrinogen (Fib)-GPR score of 2 was assigned to patients with elevated Fib and GPR values, and a score of 1 or 0 was assigned to patients with one or neither of these two markers, respectively. In addition, an N-score of 2 was assigned to patients with low neutrophil and high GPR values, and a score of 1 or 0 was assigned to patients with one or neither of these two markers, respectively. The optimal cutoff values and prognostic roles of GPR and other markers were identified according to the time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and Youden’s index. Results Multiple tumors, high levels of α-fetoprotein (AFP) and Fib, as well as a high GPR, were found to be independent risk factors in recurrent patients, while multiple tumors, a low neutrophil count, and a high GPR were associated with reduced overall survival (OS) in patients with HCC who received combined therapies. Patients with a Fib-GPR score of 2 and N-GPR score of 2 had poor recurrence-free survival (RFS) and OS, respectively. Conclusions Fib-GPR and N-GPR scores may be helpful in predicting both recurrence and the prognosis of HCC patients, thereby assisting in the process to make a true clinical decision and optimize therapeutic options.

Abstract
Resveratrol (RES) is a naturally occurring and effective drug for tumor prevention and treatment. However, its low levels of aqueous solubility, stability, and poor bioavailability limit its application, especially when used as a free drug. In this study, RES was loaded into peptide and sucrose liposomes (PSL) to enhance the physico-chemical properties of RES and exploit RES delivery mediated by liposomes to effectively treat breast cancer. RES loaded PSL (the complex: PSL@RES) were stable, had a good RES encapsulation efficiency, and prolonged RES-release in vitro. PSL@RES was exceptionally efficient for inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, as the IC50 of PSL@RES in MCF-7 cells was found to be only 20.89 μmol L-1. The therapeutic efficacy of PSL@RES was evaluated in mice bearing breast cancer. The results showed that PSL@RES at a dosage of 5 mg kg-1 was more effective than 10 mg kg-1 free RES, and PSL@RES inhibited tumor growth completely at a dosage of 10 mg kg-1. PSL@RES induced apoptosis in breast tumor by upregulation of p53 expression. This then downregulated Bcl-2 and upregulated Bax, thereby inducing Caspase-3 activation. More importantly, encapsulation of RES within peptide liposomes greatly reduced the toxicity of free RES to mice. Overall, the simple formulation of liposomal nanocarriers of RES developed in this study produces satisfactory outcomes to encourage further applications of liposomal carriers for the treatment of breast cancer.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the different surgical approaches and long-term outcomes of endoscopy-assisted transoral removal of deep hilar and intraparenchymal stones in the Wharton's duct. Methods: From January 2008 to March 2018, 481 consecutive patients with deep hilar and intraparenchymal calculi in the Wharton's duct underwent endoscopy-assisted transoral removal at Deparment of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. There were 250 males and 231 females. Their ages ranged from 9-86 years. We operated 476 patients under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis, and the remaining 5 were operated under general anesthesia. On the basis of ultrasonography, spiral CT, sialography and endoscopy, the calculi were classified into 4 types: hilum stones (located at the hilum or proximally with a distance <5 mm from the hilum), infra-hilum stones (intra-glandular stones with a distance of 5-10 mm from the hilum), intraparenchymal stones (with a distance ≥10 mm from the hilum), and multiple stones (concomitant hilum and intra-glandular stones). The treatment approaches included: hilum duct slitting, intraparenchymal duct slitting, submandibulotomy and intraductal retrieval. The success rate, immediate safety and effectiveness of different types of stones were evaluated. After surgery, the patients were followed up, and gland function was analyzed on the basis of clinical symptoms and signs. Results: The calculi sizes varied from 3 to 25 mm, with a mean of 7.8 mm. The calculi were located in the right submandibular gland in 259 patients, in the left submandibular gland in 219 patients and in bilateral glands in 3 patients. The calculi were successfully removed in 446 glands, with a success rate of 92.1% (446/484). The success rate varied according to the stone sites: 97.8% (363/371) for hilum stones, 64.4% (29/45) for infra-hilum stones, 4/16 for intraparenchymal stones and 96.2% (50/52) for multiple stones. The main treatment methods applied included hilum duct slitting in 347 glands, intraparenchymal duct slitting in 13, submandibulotomy in 4, intraductal retrieval in 73, and hilum duct slitting accompanied by intraductal retrieval in 9. Ductal breakage occurred in 2 glands. All patients complained of mild to moderate pain with a duration of 3-7 days. Nine had temporal lingual nerve injury. During 3-120 months' follow-up (mean 36 months) of the total 484 glands, 1.6% (7/446) developed ranula, 1.3% (6/446) experienced obturation of the main duct and 2.0% (9/446) had recurrent stones. The remaining 95.1% (424/446) glands were symptom-free with good function. Conclusions: Endoscopy-assisted transoral removal of deep hilar and intraparenchymal submandibular calculi is a safe and effective gland-preserving procedure. According to the depth, size and number of the calculi, variant surgical approaches should be attempted to maximize the success rate and to minimize the side effects.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the indications and long-term outcomes of endoscopy-assisted removal of parotid gland calculi via a transoral approach. Methods: From August 2005 to December 2016, 158 consecutive patients with parotid gland calculi underwent endoscopy-assisted lithectomy transorally. They included 71 males and 87 females, with an age of 5-84 years. The immediate safety and effectiveness were evaluated. After surgery, the patients were followed up, and gland function was analyzed on the basis of clinical manifestations, sialography, scintigraphy and sialometry. Postoperative sialograms were categorized into 2 types: ①type Ⅰ, the main duct was normal or had ectasia and stenosis, but no persistent contrast was seen on the functional film; ②type Ⅱ, the main duct had ectasia or stenosis, with persistent contrast media on the functional film. Results: Under one endoscopic procedure, the stones (or foreign bodies) were completely removed in 134 cases and almost completely removed in 10 cases, with a success rate of 91.1% (144/158). Of the 144 successful cases, the treatment options included direct basket retrieval or forceps grasping in 77 cases, basket entrapment with direct ostium incision in 36, basket capture with perio-ostium incision in 23 and perio-ostium incision in 8 cases with impacted stones. In two of the initial 14 failure cases, the stones were discharged spontaneously 3 months after operation. During 3-120 months' follow-up (mean 36 months) of the 146 patients, one had recurrent stone, two developed ductal obturation, 16 had mild symptoms, and the remaining 127 cases were asymptomatic. Of the postoperative sialograms in 34 stone-free patients 25 were type Ⅰ, 9 were type Ⅱ. Both scintigraphy and saliva flow rate indicated an improvement of the affected gland function in some degree (P<0.05). Conclusions: Transoral endoscopy-assisted removal of parotid gland calculi is a safe and effective technique. It is mainly indicated for mobile stones in the main duct or impacted stones in the anterior third of the Stensen's duct. Sialography, scintigraphy and sialometry show postoperative improvement of gland function in most of the cases.

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of butylphthalide on oxidative stress and cognitive function in old obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)patients.Method:A total of 90 old OSAHS patients with cognitive impairment were choosed with Polysomnography(PSG). By random number table method OSAHS patients were randomly divided into non-invasive ventilator group (n=30), butylphthalide with non-invasive ventilator group(n=30) and treatment group of butylphthalide(n=30). Non-invasive ventilator group was given continuous positive airway pressure treatment for three months, butylphthalide with non-invasive ventilator group accepted oral butylphthalide therapy and continuous positive airway pressure treatment for three months, treatment group of butylphthalide only accepted oral butylphthalide therapy for three months. Cognitive function of three groups wered observed by the Montreal cognitive assessment scale (MoCA) before and after treatment, at the same time, the changes of serum superoxide dismutase(SOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA) were detected by immunoenzyme-linked adsorption.Result:The differences of serum SOD and MDA before treatment among the three groups were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Compared with before treatment, the level of serum SOD increased and the level of MDA decreased in the three groups (P<0.05). Compared with non-invasive ventilator group after treatment,the level of SOD increased and the level of MDA decreased in butylphthalide with non-invasive ventilator group (P<0.05), the level of SOD decreased and the level of MDA increased in treatment group of butylphthalide (P<0.05). Compared with treatment group of butylphthalide after treatment, the level of SOD increased and the level of MDA decreased in butylphthalide with non-invasive ventilator group (P<0.05); The scores of MoCA on cognitive function before treatment in the three groups was not statistically significant (P>0.05). After treatment the scores of MoCA on cognitive function in the three groups were higher than those before treatment (P<0.05). Compared with non-invasive ventilator group after treatment, the scores of MoCA increased in butylphthalide with non-invasive ventilator group (P<0.05),the the scores of MoCA decreased in treatment group of butylphthalide (P<0.05). Compared with treatment group of butylphthalide after treatment, the scores of MoCA increased in butylphthalide with non-invasive ventilator group (P<0.05).Conclution: Butylphthalide can improve the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the serum of old patients with OSAHS, inhibit the oxygen free radical and lipid peroxidation and to a certain extent improve the cognitive function.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the morphological characteristics of live Carpoglyphus lactis at different stages of life cycle and its ultrastructure. METHODS The live C. lactis specimens were isolated from longan pulp, and firstly rinsed with double distilled water under a light microscope to make slide preparation by the conventional manner, and then were made into scanning electron microscope (SEM) specimens. The specimens were observed under SEM for the ultrastructure characteristics at different developmental stages including egg, larva, nymph and adult (male and female) . RESULTS The SEM photographs showed that the egg was oval and milky. The larva had three pairs of legs, without genital setae, preanal seta and coxal rod, and there was no trace of genital growth. The nymph had four pairs of legs, genital seta and preanal seta, whereas the genital area was looked still under-developed. The male adult had a conical gnathosoma and a pair of external verticals which were longest setae at the dorsal idiosoma, whereas the other dorsal setae were all short rhabdoid. At the ventral idiosoma, there was an aedoeagus which was like a bent cube, and the top was straight forward. The external sacral setae and post anal were longest setae. The female adult's genital plates were a composite of plastron and cutex inner root, covering the genital tract, and a hole of anus and a pair of anal setae were located at posterior of idiosoma. CONCLUSIONS The morphological characteristics and ultra-structure of C. lactis at different stages of life cycle can be vividly observed under SEM, which provides the morphological bases for further study of the relation between parasitism and disease.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the mechanism of cell autophagy for regulating skeletal muscle wasting of rats after severe burns. Methods: Seventy-two Sprague-Dawley rats were collected and divided into sham injury group, simple burn group, burn+ phosphate buffer solution (PBS) group, and burn+ 3-methyladenine (3-MA) group according to the random number table, with 18 rats in each group. Rats in simple burn group, burn+ PBS group, and burn+ 3-MA group were inflicted with 30% total body surface area full-thickness scald (hereinafter referred to as burns). Rats in sham injury group were sham injured. Immediately after burns and fluid resuscitation, rats in burn+ PBS group were intraperitoneally injected with 1 mL PBS, and rats in burn+ 3-MA group were intraperitoneally injected with 1 mL 3-MA (125 g/L). On post injury day 3 and 7, the weights of anterior tibial muscle of right hind limbs and body of rats were measured to calculate percentage of anterior tibial muscle of right hind limbs weight. Protein expressions of microtubule related protein 1 light chain 3A (LC3A) and Beclin-1 of anterior tibial muscle were observed by immunofluorescence method and detected by Western blotting, and ratio of microtubule related protein 1 LC3A-Ⅱ to LC3A-Ⅰ was calculated. Data were processed with analysis of variance of factorial design, one-way analysis of variance, t-test and Bonferroni correction. Results: On post injury day 3 and 7, percentages of anterior tibial muscle of right hind limbs weight of rats in simple burn group were (0.148±0.009)% and (0.134±0.018)%, respectively, which were significantly lower than those in sham injury group [(0.203±0.009)%, (0.181±0.015)%, t=10.585, 4.913, P<0.01]. Percentages of anterior tibial muscle of right hind limbs weight of rats in burn+ 3-MA group were (0.187±0.004)% and (0.192±0.009)%, respectively, which were obviously higher than those in burn+ PBS group [(0.162±0.005)%, (0.167±0.005)%, t=9.564, 5.948, P<0.01]. On post injury day 3 and 7, protein expressions of Beclin-1 and microtubule related protein 1 LC3A of anterior tibial muscle of rats in simple burn group were significantly higher than those in sham injury group, while protein expressions of Beclin-1 and microtubule related protein 1 LC3A of anterior tibial muscle of rats in burn+ 3-MA group were significantly lower than those in burn+ PBS group. Ratios of microtubule related protein 1 LC3A-Ⅱ to LC3A-Ⅰ of anterior tibial muscle of rats in simple burn group were significantly higher than those in sham injury group (t=3.461, 3.353, P<0.05), while ratios of microtubule related protein 1 LC3A-Ⅱ to LC3A-Ⅰ of anterior tibial muscle of rats in burn+ 3-MA group were significantly lower than those in burn+ PBS group (t=3.129, 3.977, P<0.05). Conclusions: Cell autophagy induced by severe burns is involved in the process of skeletal muscle wasting of rats, and inhibition of cell autophagy may contribute to the remission of skeletal muscle wasting of rats induced by burns.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effects of endoscopy-assisted sialodochoplasty for the treatment of severe sialoduct stenosis with concurrent megaducts. METHODS From Jul.2010 to Dec. 2016, 8 patients presenting with severe parotid duct stenosis and 3 patients with occlusion of the Wharton's duct underwent endoscopy-assisted sialodochoplasty.All these patients had concurrent severe ductal ectasiaand manifested a painful swelling of the involved salivary glands.The diameter of ectasia and length of stenosis of the sialoducts were measured preoperatively by sialography, computed tomography, or ultrasonography. The megaducts were opened transorally and sutured to the buccal or oral floor mucosa, therefore creating a neo-ostium. All the patients were followed up periodically after operation. The treatment effects were evaluated by clinical signs, sialogram and sialometry. RESULTS The length of the Stensen's duct stenosis was 5-12 mm, and the diameter of the concurrent ectasia was 8-16 mm. The length of the Wharton's duct stenosis was 10-20 mm, and the diameter of the concurrent ectasia was 6-8 mm.The neo-ostiums healed uneventfully 2 weeks after operation. The duration of the follow-up varied from 6 to 78 months (median: 24 months). Among the 8 patients with Stensen's duct stenosis, two experienced re-obliteration of the neo-ostium, but the buccal bulge and clinical symptoms disappeared; one reported recurrent clinical symptoms after initial alleviation, which could be controlled with self-massaging; the remaining 5 patients had satisfactory clinical results, i.e., disappearance of the obstruction symptoms and buccal bulge, patent ostium,clean saliva and improvement of the ductal ectasia on sialogram. Three patients with Wharton's duct occlusion were asymptomatic with clear saliva and patent ostium;two exhibited approximately normal appearance and one showed improvement of the sialogram.Sialometry was performed in 9 patients with patent neo-ostium of the involved glands,the resting saliva flow rate of the affected glands showed no differences compared with the normal side, and stimulated flow rate showed a significant increase, though less than the control side.The clinical results included good in 5 patients, fair in 4 patients, and poor in 2 patients, with a total effective rate of 82% (9/11). CONCLUSION Endoscopy-assisted sialodochoplasty appears to be effective and can be a viable option for patients presenting with severe sialoducts tenosis and concurrent ectasia.

Abstract
Objectives: To explore glucose excursion and incidence of hypoglycemia in senior patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and coronary artery disease (CAD) with different hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) values. Methods: Eighty-nine outpatients [58 male, 31 female, aged 69.0 (66.0, 73.0) years] diagnosed with T2DM and CAD in Beijing Anzhen Hospital between June 2013 and March 2016 were divided into group A (HbA1c<6.5%, n=25) and group B (HbA1c≥6.5%, n=64). Every patient wore continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) for 72 h. Glucose excursion parameters and incidence of hypoglycemia from CGMS readings were calculated. Results: Compared with group B, patients in group A experienced shorter diabetes duration [8.0 (3.5, 15.0) vs 15.0 (8.0, 20.0) years, Z=-2.222, P=0.026], lower standard deviation (SD) of blood glucose from CGMS, mean amplitude of glycemic excursions(MAGE) and mean of the daily differences(MODD) (P=0.001, 0.003, 0.001). However, incidence of hypoglycemia was significantly increased [56.0% (14/25) vs 32.8% (21/64), χ(2)=4.051, P=0.044] in group A. Compared to those who had not experienced hypoglycemia, patients with hypoglycemia had higher SD [1.8(1.4, 2.4) mmol/L vs 1.4(1.1, 1.8) mmol/L, Z=-3.198, P=0.001] and MAGE [6.0(3.2, 7.4) mmol/L vs 3.9(2.7, 4.8 )mmol/L, Z=-2.768, P=0.006] which were appropriate tools for assessing intraday glycemic variability. No statistical difference were found in MODD which was the index for estimating interday glycemic variability. Conclusions: Intensive glycemic control in senior patients with T2DM and CAD had higher incidence of hypoglycemia. Those with hypoglycemia experienced greater intraday glucose excursion.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of obstructive sleep apnea hypoxia on learning memory capacity in rat after ischemia. METHODS Eighty healthy male wister rats were randomly divided into: sham operation group (SO group, n=20), merely ischemia group (I/R group, n=20), and obstructive sleep apnea hypoxia for 7 days ischemia group (IH7+ I/R group, n=20), obstructive sleep apnea hypoxia for 21 days ischemia group (IH21+ I/R group, n=20). Obstructive sleep apnea hypoxia ischemia groups were respectively given obstructive sleep apnea hypoxia for 7 days and 21 days. Ischemia animals were prepared cerebral ischemia-reperfusion model by improved pulsinelli four vessels block (4-VO), the morphological changes of hippocampus nerve cells of rat brain were detected with HE, neuron pathology in hippocampal regin was observed using electron microscope, and learning memory capacity of rats were assessed by the Morris water maze test. RESULTS Compared with the SO group, the I/R group demonstrated shortened escaping latency, increased frequency of crossing the platform in the water maze test, decreased survival rate of neurons, and increased apoptotic cells and ultrastructure damages(P<0.05). Compared with the I/R group, obstructive sleep apnea hypoxia ischemia groups showed shortened escaping latency, increased frequency of crossing the platform, decreased survival rate of neurons, and increased apoptotic cells and ultrastructure damages(P<0.05), especially in the IH21+ I/R group(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Obstructive sleep apnea hypoxia can increase the damage of learning memory capacity. This damage is related to hippocampus nerve loss and ultrastructure injury from obstructive sleep apnea hypoxia.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the changes in the expression of mTOR and beclin1 in the hippocampus of normal rats and intermittent hypoxia rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion, so as to explore the roles of mTOR/autophagy pathway in global cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injure aggravated by intermittent hypoxia. Methods: One hundred healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into: sham operation group(SO group, n=20), intermittent hypoxia group(IH group, n=20), merely ischemia/reperfusion group(I/R group, n=20), intermittent hypoxia ischemia/reperfusion group(IH+ I/R group, n=20), intermittent hypoxia ischemia/reperfusion+ mTOR inhibitor group(Inhibitor group, n=20). IH group, IH+ I/R group and inhibitor group were respectively given intermittent hypoxia for 21 days before ischemia/reperfusion. Ischemia animals were prepared cerebral ischemia-reperfusion model by improved pulsinelli four vessels block (4-VO), the morphological changes of hippocampus nerve cells of rat brain were detected with HE respectively 6, 24 h after ischemia, and the expressions of mTOR protein and beclin1 protein in hippocampus of rat brain was detected with immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR respectively 6, 24 h after ischemia.SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results: Compared with the SO group, the IH group increased the never cells morphology damages and the empression of mTOR and beclin1 (q value was 32.94, 47.31, 63.68, 78.45, all P<0.05); the I/R group increased the never cells morphology damages and the empression of mTOR and beclin1 (mTOR in I/R group: 22.38±0.46, 24.16±0.60; mTOR in SO group: 14.65±0.48, 15.40±0.58; beclin1 in I/R group: 8.58±0.58, 10.58±0.49; beclin1 in SO group: 2.06±0.23, 2.10±0.30; the differences were significant, q value was 90.59, 106.83, 95.88, 119.44, all P<0.05). Compared with the IH group, IH+ I/R group increased the never cells morphology damages and the empression of mTOR and beclin1 (q value was 152.23, 165.61, 135.01, 156.48, all P<0.05). Compared with the I/R group, IH+ I/R group increased the never cells morphology damages and the empression of mTOR and beclin1(q value was 94.35, 106.99, 102.79, 115.49, all P<0.05). Compared with the IH+ I/R group, the inhibitor group decreased the never cells morphology damages and the expression of mTOR, increased the expression of beclin1(mTOR in IH+ I/R group: 30.40±0.43, 32.86±0.50; mTOR in inhibitor group: 26.60±0.37, 28.51±0.52; beclin1 in IH+ I/R group: 15.57±0.57, 18.78±0.43; beclin1 in inhibitor group: 21.74±0.51, 24.32±0.49; the differences were significant, q value was 44.71, 53.05, 90.74, 78.03, all P<0.05). Conclusion: Intermittent hypoxia can aggravate the damage on nerve cells by activating mTOR/autophagy pathway after ischemia.

Abstract
Acute brain ischemia can induce the activation of c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNKs). Hypertension is a critical etiology for brain ischemia. We identified the effects of hypertension on the activation of JNK as well as its impact on SP600125, a JNK inhibitor, during endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) in the hippocampus using a rat model. Transient whole-brain ischemia was induced by 4-vessel occlusion (bilateral vertebral and bilateral common carotid arteries) in normal and spontaneous hypertensive rats. SP600125 (0.05 mg/kg, iv) was administered 30 min before ischemia. Morphological changes in hippocampal nerve cells were observed by cresyl violet staining. Phosphorylation of JNK, and expression levels of CHOP and GPR78, markers for ERS, were detected by western blot at 1, 6, 24, and 48 h, and neurological outcomes were measured using an eight-arm radial maze 48 h after ischemia. Hypertension apparently aggravated impairment of memory function, decreased the density of surviving neurons, increased phosphorylation of JNK, and enhanced CHOP expression, but reduced GPR78 levels in hippocampal tissues following brain ischemia. SP600125 alleviated neurological dysfunction, improved neuron survival, decreased phosphorylation of JNK and levels of CHOP, but increased expression of GPR78 in rats with hypertension during cerebral ischemia by inhibition of ERS.

Abstract
PURPOSE Little research has been conducted to specifically identify the correlations of birth quality influence factors of newborns and hemoglobin of gravidae and puerperal with birth weight of newborns. To investigate the correlations of birth quality influence factors of newborns and hemoglobin of gravidae and puerperal with birth weight of newborns in order to provide a scientific basis for promoting health ofgravidae and their newborns. MATERIALS AND METHODS Three hundred cases of gravidae and puerpera treated in the present hospital were randomly selected, and questionnaire survey method was used to survey their basic situations. Also, hemoglobin values in different pregnancy stages were detected. According to birth weight of newborns, gravidae were divided into several groups to compare antepartum hemoglobin levels of various groups of gravidae. In addition, logistic regression analysis was carried out for birth quality influence factors of newborns. RESULTS Logistic regression analysis result showed that birth quality influence factors of newborns included age, nutrition situation and pregnancy healthcare education of gravidae and puerpera. In addition, birth weight of newborns was positively related to antepartum hemoglobin level of gravidae (r = 0.746, p < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS It was feasible for promoting smooth delivery of gravidae and puerpera, reducing incidence rate of mother and baby complications and effectively enhancing health situations of newborns to strengthen health monitoring of gravidae and conduct health education intervention.

Abstract
The impact of anatomic resection (AR) as compared to non-anatomic resection (NAR) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) as a factor for preventing intra-hepatic and local recurrence after the initial surgical procedure remains controversial. A systematic review and meta-analysis of nonrandomized trials comparing anatomic resection with non-anatomic resection for HCC published from 1990 to 2010 in PubMed and Medline, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Science Citation Index were therefore performed. Intra-hepatic recurrence, including early and late, and local recurrence were considered as primary outcomes. As secondary outcomes, 5 year survival and 5 year disease-free survival were considered. Pooled effects were calculated utilizing either fixed effects or random effects models. Eleven non-randomized studies including 1,576 patients were identified and analyzed, with 810 patients in the AR group and 766 in the NAR group. Patients in the AR group were characterized by lower prevalence of cirrhosis, more favorable hepatic function, and larger tumor size and higher prevalence of macrovascular invasion compared with patients in the NAR group. Anatomic resection significantly reduced the risks of local recurrence and achieved a better 5 years disease-free survival. Also, anatomic resection was marginally effective for decreasing the early intra-hepatic recurrence. However, it was not advantageous in preventing late intra-hepatic recurrence compared with non-anatomic resection. No differences were found between AR and NAR with respect to postoperative morbidity, mortality, and hospitalization. Anatomic resection can be recommended as superior to non-anatomic resection in terms of reducing the risks of local recurrence, early intra-hepatic recurrence and achieving a better 5 year disease-free survival in HCC patients.

Abstract
We use the three-cornered-hat method to evaluate the absolute frequency stabilities of three different ultrastable reference cavities, one of which has a vibration-insensitive design that does not even require vibration isolation. An Nd:YAG laser and a diode laser are implemented as light sources. We observe approximately 1 Hz beat note linewidths between all three cavities. The measurement demonstrates that the vibration-insensitive cavity has a good frequency stability over the entire measurement time from 100 ms to 200 s. An absolute, correlation-removed Allan deviation of 1.4 x 10(-15) at s of this cavity is obtained, giving a frequency uncertainty of only 0.44 Hz.

Abstract
We demonstrated for the first time (to our knowledge) the characterization of absolute frequency stability of three reference cavities by cross beating three laser beams that are independently locked to these reference cavities. This method shows the individual feature of each reference cavity, while conventional beat note measurement between two cavities can provide only an upper bound. Abstract
Identification of the basic genetic changes in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is very important for the understanding of this cancer. In this study, genomic DNA from 29 pairs of HCC and corresponding non-tumour tissues infected with hepatitis B virus (HBV) was prepared. Five CA-repeated microsatellite markers, including D8S277, D3S1029, D5S409, D2S123, and TP53, were used to analyse microsatellite alterations and their subtypes in these patients by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification and denatured polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Microsatellite alterations were found in 15 of the 29 HCC patients (51.72%), implying that microsatellites are unstable in genomic DNA of HBV-infected HCC. It was found that frequency of microsatellite alterations in these HCC patients was not associated with patients' age, sex, status of tumour differentiation, and tumour size. Frequency of microsatellite alterations in HCC patients with cirrhosis tended to be less than that in patients without cirrhosis, but Fisher's exact test, 2-tailed, showed that this difference was not significant. Significantly more microsatellite alterations in serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)-positive cases were observed than those in serum AFP-negative ones, implying that the elevation of AFP in HBV-infected HCC may be associated with microsatellite stability.

Abstract
Glutathione (GSH) contents and activities of glutathione S-transferases (GST), glutathione reductase (GSH-RD), glutathione peroxidase (GSHpx) and glutathione conjugate export pump (GS-X pump) were determined in eight human tumour cell lines with different sensitivities to melphalan, a substrate of glutathione conjugation, and actinomycin D which has not been shown to be detoxified by glutathione-related mechanisms. Chang liver cells with highest GSH content and highest activities of GST, GSH-RD, GSHpx and GS-X pump were found to be most resistant to melphalan. Statistical analysis showed significant correlations between sensitivities of the human tumour cells to melphalan and the glutathione-related factors (r = 0.72-0.79; except for GST, r = 0.65, P = 0.08), while there were no significant correlations observed between sensitivities of the human tumour cells to actinomycin D and all the glutathione-related factors tested (r = -0.25-0.14). Significant correlations of the glutathione-related factors to resistance of human tumour cells to melphalan, a substrate of glutathione conjugation, but not to resistance of the human tumour cells to actinomycin D which has not been shown to be detoxified by glutathione-related mechanisms suggested that glutathione-related mechanisms contribute to drug resistance by increased detoxification of the drugs involved.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Motoneurons in the spinal cord are especially vulnerable to ischemic injury and selectively destroyed after transient ischemia. Nitric oxide (NO) has been implicated in both neurodegneration and neuroprotection to ischemic insult. To evaluate the role of NO in pathophysiology to spinal cord ischemia, the expression of neuronal and inducible nitric oxide synthase (n-NOS and i-NOS) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate diaphorase (NADPH-d) in the motoneurons of the lumbosacral spinal cord was examined in a rat model with transient abdominal aorta (TAA) occlusion. MATERIALS AND METHODS Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into sham-operated (n = 12) and TAA occlusion (n = 24) groups. TAA occlusion was induced by placement of a microvascular clamp around the abdominal aorta for 20 min. Three sham-operated and six TAA occlusion animals were sacrificed at each time interval at 4, 24, and 48 h and 7 days after operation. Tissue sections obtained from the lumbosacral spinal cord were processed for n-NOS, i-NOS, NADPH-d, and hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. Histological changes of motoneurons in ventral horn were assessed by HE staining. RESULTS In sham-operated control animals, n-NOS-, i-NOS-, and NADPH-d-positive neurons were barely detectable in the ventral horn of the spinal cord. At 4 h after TTA occlusion, n-NOS and NADPH-d expression became evident in the motoneurons and was markedly enhanced at 24 and 48 h. i-NOS expression was also induced in the ventral horn motoneurons of the lumbosacral spinal cord at the same time points. Enzymatic expression in the motoneurons was diminished 7 days after operation. Hyperchromatic neurons indicative of cell death were observed in HE-stained specimens 7 days following TAA occlusion. CONCLUSIONS The rapid induction of n-NOS, i-NOS, and NADPH-d in the motoneurons of ventral horn suggests that NO may be involved in the selective and delayed neuronal death in the spinal cord to the ischemic insult.

Abstract
Protein kinases play key roles in the control of cell proliferation, differentiation and metabolism. In this work, we studied the effect of coumarin and its derivatives, including daphnetin, esculin, 2-OH-coumarin, 4-OH-coumarin and 7-OH-coumarin, on the activity of protein kinases. It was found that, in these compounds, only daphnetin was a protein kinase inhibitor. This compound inhibited tyrosine-specific protein kinase, EGF receptor (IC(50) = 7.67 microM), and serine/threonine-specific protein kinases, including cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) (IC(50) = 9.33 microM) and protein kinase C (PKC) (IC(50) = 25.01 microM) in vitro. The inhibition of EGF receptor tyrosine kinase by daphnetin was competitive to ATP and non-competitive to the peptide substrate. The inhibition of EGF-induced tyrosine phosphorylation of EGF receptor by daphnetin was not observed in human hepatocellular carcinoma HepG2 cells. The structural comparison of daphnetin with coumarin and other coumarin derivatives suggests that the hydroxylation at C8 may be required for daphnetin acting as a protein kinase inhibitor.

Abstract
The effect of selenium (Se) in reducing the toxicity of cisplatin in cancer patients was studied. Forty-one patients were randomized into group A (20 patients with Se administration in first cycle of chemotherapy as study cases and without Se in second cycle of chemotherapy as control) and group B (21 patients without Se in first cycle of chemotherapy and with Se in second cycle of chemotherapy). The 4000 micrograms per day of Se as Seleno-Kappacarrageenan were administered from 4 before to 4 d after chemotherapy for study cases. The serum Se increased from 70.4 +/- 22.86 to 157.04 +/- 60.23 ng/mL (P < 0.001) in patients received Se. The cisplatin dosage was iv administration in 60-80 mg/m2 on the first day. The results showed that the peripheral WBC counts on day 14 after initiation of chemotherapy in study cases was significantly higher than the controls (3.35 +/- 2.01 vs 2.31 +/- 1.38 [x10(9)L])/L, p < 0.05). On the other hand, the consumption of GCSF for the cases was significantly less than the controls (110.1 +/- 82.2 vs 723.6 +/- 192.6 IU, p < 0.05). The volumes of blood transfusion for the study group were also significantly less than the controls (0 vs 62 +/- 38 mL, p < 0.05). The nephrotoxicity of cisplatin was measured by urine enzymes (NAG, GGT, AAP, LAP, and ALP) were determined prior to and at 2, 24, 48, and 72 h after initiation of chemotherapy. The urine enzymes NAG, GGT, AAP, and ALP after chemotherapy for cases were significantly lower than the controls. No toxicity of Seleno-Kappacarrageenan was noted. The above results suggest that the Se can be used as an agent for reducing the nephrotoxicity and bone marrow suppression induced by cisplatin.

Abstract
The study of generation of LAK cells from cord blood following a brief exposure to interleukin-2 (IL-2) demonstrated that a short time induction (15min-1h) of lymphocytes by a high concentration of IL-2 resulted in the maturation of LAK proceusor cells and such activated cells expressed cytolytic activity comparable to that of routinely induced (cultured continuously in IL-2 for 3-7 days) lymphocytes. Serologic test showed that this efficiency was not inhibited by autoserum. The results of experimental therapy with the two kinds of LAK cells in nude mouse model of human ovarian cancer confirmed that both types of LAK cells had remarkable inhibitory effect on tumor growth. The preliminary trial in the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer with rapid-pulsed LAK cells suggested that this method may serve as a new approach in the clinical application of tumor immunotherapy.

Abstract
Tissue tolerance to pelvic intraarterial chemoembolization with cisplatin-lipiodol suspension was studied in rabbits. Cisplatin (3 mg/kg) was used with different doses of lipiodol (0.0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 ml/kg). Cisplatin-lipiodol suspension was injected into the umbilical artery through a long polyethylene catheter. Local tissue concentration of platinum was increased with lipiodol, while that in the liver, heart, and kidneys was reduced. Tissue retention of platinum was linearly related to the dosage of lipiodol. With a single dose of 0.2 ml/kg lipiodol, only slight degeneration and sparse hemorrhage were observed without necrosis.

Abstract
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) activity was measured in the serum of 33 pregnant women with normal blood pressure or pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) using sensitive hippuric acid colorimetric micromethods. Mean serum ACE activity in 17 PIH patients (73.25 +/- 18.81 U/ml) was significantly higher than that in normotensive pregnant women (16 cases; 52.36 +/- 9.91 U/ml; p less than 0.01). Mean arterial blood pressure was correlated with the level of serum ACE activity in all pregnant women (y = 69.089 + 0.49x, r = 0.562, p less than 0.01). In PIH patients, the gestosis index and the degree of edema also had a statistically significant correlation with the level of serum ACE activity (y = -0.560 + 0.056x, r = 0.549, p less than 0.05; y = -1.760 + 0.043x, r = 0.629, p less than 0.01). The amount of 24-hour urinary protein was independent of the level of serum ACE activity. It seems that a disturbance in the regulation of ACE activity may be one of the factors responsible for the development of PIH.

Escharotomies were performed on ten patients. On the basis of the characteristics of children, problems about early transfer of patients, fluid transfusion during shock, and how to simplify operation process, save blood were discussed. One typical case was presented.
