Abstract
AIM Comprehensive, global information on species' occurrences is an essential biodiversity variable and central to a range of applications in ecology, evolution, biogeography and conservation. Expert range maps often represent a species' only available distributional information and play an increasing role in conservation assessments and macroecology. We provide global range maps for the native ranges of all extant mammal species harmonised to the taxonomy of the Mammal Diversity Database (MDD) mobilised from two sources, the Handbook of the Mammals of the World (HMW) and the Illustrated Checklist of the Mammals of the World (CMW). LOCATION Global. TAXON All extant mammal species. METHODS Range maps were digitally interpreted, georeferenced, error-checked and subsequently taxonomically aligned between the HMW (6253 species), the CMW (6431 species) and the MDD taxonomies (6362 species). RESULTS Range maps can be evaluated and visualised in an online map browser at Map of Life (mol.org) and accessed for individual or batch download for non-commercial use. MAIN CONCLUSION Expert maps of species' global distributions are limited in their spatial detail and temporal specificity, but form a useful basis for broad-scale characterizations and model-based integration with other data. We provide georeferenced range maps for the native ranges of all extant mammal species as shapefiles, with species-level metadata and source information packaged together in geodatabase format. Across the three taxonomic sources our maps entail, there are 1784 taxonomic name differences compared to the maps currently available on the IUCN Red List website. The expert maps provided here are harmonised to the MDD taxonomic authority and linked to a community of online tools that will enable transparent future updates and version control.

OP0083 DORSAL ROOT GANGLIA INFILTRATING MACROPHAGES MAINTAIN OSTEOARTHRITIS PAIN. Ann Rheum Dis 2020. Abstract
Background:Pain is a major debilitating symptom of knee osteoarthritis (OA). However, the extent of joint damage in OA does not correlate well with the severity of pain. The mechanisms that govern OA pain are poorly understood. Immune cells infiltrating nervous tissue may contribute to pain maintenance. Objectives:Here we investigated the role of macrophages in the initiation and maintenance of OA pain. Methods:Knee joint damage was induced by an unilateral injection of mono-iodoacetate (MIA) or after application of a groove at the femoral condyles of rats fed on high fat diet. Pain-like behaviors were followed over time using von Frey test and dynamic weight bearing. Joint damage was assessed by histology. Dorsal root ganglia (DRG) infiltrating immune cells were assessed over time using flow cytometry. To deplete monocytes and macrophages, Lysmcrex Csfr1-Stop-DTR were injected intrathecal or systemically with diptheria toxin (DT).Results:Intraarticular monoiodoacetate injection induced OA and signs of persistent pain, such as mechanical hyperalgesia and deficits in weight bearing. The persisting pain-like behaviors were associated with accumulation of F4/80+macrophages with an M1-like phenotype in the lumbar DRG appearing from 1 week after MIA injection, and that persisted till at least 4 weeks after MIA injection. Macrophages infiltrated DRG were also observed in the rat groove model of OA, 12 weeks after application of a groove at the femoral condyles. Systemic or local depletion of DRG macrophages during established MIA-induced OA completely ablated signs of pain, without affecting MIA-induced knee pathology. Intriguingly when monocytes/macrophages were depleted prior to induction of osteoarthritis, pain-like behaviors still developed, however these pain-like behaviors did not persist over time.In vitro, sensory neurons innervating the affected OA joint programmed macrophages into a M1 phenotype. Local repolarization of M1-like DRG macrophages towards M2 by intrathecal injection of M2 macrophages or anti-inflammatory cytokines resolved persistent OA-induced pain. Conclusion:Overall we show that macrophages infiltrate the DRG after knee damage and acquire a M1-like phenotype and maintain pain independent of the lesions in the knee joint. DRG-infiltrating macrophages are not required for induction of OA pain. Reprogramming M1-like DRG-infiltrating macrophages may represent a potential strategy to treat OA pain.Acknowledgments:This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreements No 814244 and No 642720. Abstract
We report a child with segmental maternal uniparental isodisomy of chromosome 6, involving most of the long arm distal to 6q16, detected by SNP microarray. Clinical features include prenatal growth restriction, global developmental delay, and severe gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Maternal uniparental disomy (UPD) of chromosome 6 has previously been reported to cause intrauterine growth restriction. Paternal UPD of this chromosome is well known to cause transient neonatal diabetes mellitus. We discuss reported cases of maternal UPD of chromosome 6 and consider whether our patient's features may be due to disordered imprinting or unmasking of an autosomal recessive condition.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Measurement of colonic transit time (CTT) by using radiopaque markers with the "Multiple ingestion-Single film" technique is a simple, reproducible technique to measure total and segmental CTT. However, it requires good compliance of the patients, who must ingest the capsules containing radio-opaque markers for 6 consecutive days. The purpose of this study was to estimate the error in CTT measurement if they fail to do this. METHODS The protocol tested was to ingest 12 markers per day during 6 days and take a plain film of the abdomen on day 7. The study was done by simulation using a 3-compartiment model (right colon, left colon, rectosigmoid area). There was a set of 67,525 possibilities with possible single or double failure of markers ingestion for 6 days either 238,266 combinations for one omission, or 312,375 combinations for two omissions; the absence of omission was the reference. The analysis focused on two complementary aspects of the evaluation of omission: quantitatively, the absolute and relative error on the CTT measured and qualitatively, the diagnostic error (a delayed transit is defined by a total CTT > 65 hours). KEY RESULTS Total and segmental CTT measured when omission occurred were greater than the reference time. The difference is particularly important, when omission occurs early during the study for all segments. Qualitative analysis showed that, for one omission of markers ingestion, a correct diagnosis of delayed colonic transit time and of the main site of delay could be obtained by the 3-compartment model in 100% of cases. For two failures of markers ingestion, "delayed" colonic transit could be regarded as normal in only 9.59% of cases; furthermore, the site of delay was correctly recognized in 83% of the cases. CONCLUSIONS & INFERENCES Despite omission of markers ingestion for one or two days, measured CTT overestimates the absolute value of colonic transit time, the formulated diagnosis (delayed transit and site of delay) is perfectly acceptable clinically.

Abstract
Filter banks analysis is an easy and quick computing way to implement time-scale methods, these being well suited for short events as well as for large waveforms detection tasks. We propose a non-uniform oversampled filter banks to analyze sleep EEG single channel signal, the different subbands matching the classical EEG rhythms. In order to preserve the temporal shapes information, filter banks are oversampled. Coupling the informations conveyed by the different outputs allow to perform an automatic hypnogram.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Spectral power of 40 all-night sleep EEGs (Cz-Pz bipolar lead) recorded in 20 healthy young subjects was calculated after normalization on 30-s consecutive epochs by means of an autocorrelation method based on a 15-order autoregressive model. METHODS The spectral parameters were calculated for the 7 main EEG bands: slow delta (0.7-2 Hz); fast delta (2-4 Hz); theta (4-8 Hz); alpha (8-12 Hz); sigma (12-16 Hz); beta1 (16-35 Hz); and beta 2 (>35 Hz). RESULTS Strong negative correlations were found between power in the fast delta and either the alpha or the beta bands and between slow delta and theta bands, whereas the two delta bands showed little correlation with each other. CONCLUSION The possibility that theses different relationships of slow and fast delta components with other frequency bands might reflect the neocortical or the thalamocortical origin of the delta waves is discussed.

Immune responsiveness of splenocytes after chronic daily melatonin administration in male Syrian hamsters. Immunol Lett 1997; 58:95-100. Abstract
The interrelationships between the immune system and the pineal hormone, melatonin, have been explored recently. The present studies investigated the effects of daily melatonin injections on reproductive and spleen function in male Syrian hamsters. Testes weights and serum testosterone levels were depressed after 8-10 weeks of daily melatonin injections. Melatonin-treated hamsters exhibited increased splenic lymphoproliferative responses to a polyclonal T-cell mitogen (concanavalin A (Con-A)), but decreased proliferation following stimulation with a polyclonal B-cell mitogen (lipopolysaccharide). It appears that daily melatonin injections in male hamsters increase the T-cell-mediated immune capacity while reducing the antibody-mediated immune potential. These data suggest that chronic, daily melatonin alters immune system responsiveness in hamsters by shifting the balance of cellular and humoral reactivity.

Abstract
Choledochocele is an extremely rare congenital lesion of the biliary tree causing abdominal pain, pancreatitis, and obstructive cholestasis. Traditionally the therapy for this malformation has been surgery. Recently endoscopic therapy has been utilized alternatively for the treatment of choledochocele in adults. We report the case of a 2-year-old girl with a choledochocele who was treated by endoscopic sphincterotomy and placement of a biliary stent. The prosthesis was removed after 4 months. After a follow-up of 20 months the patient remains free of symptoms. Our experience suggests that endoscopic treatment of congenital biliary disease can be performed accurately. Further studies will be necessary to confirm the value of stent implantation in congenital bile duct stenosis.

Abstract
Four non-consecutive nights of sleep were recorded in eight young volunteers complaining of chronic poor sleep. The subjects received a placebo or a 10 mg zolpidem dose prior to bedtime according to a Latin square double-blind design. All-night spectral analyses of the Cz-Pz lead were associated to the standard polysomnography. According to the visual scoring performed with the Rechtschaffen and Kales criteria, zolpidem significantly increased the stage 4 amount and reduced waking. Compared to placebo no difference in sleep stages was observed when the scoring was based on the power in the 0.7 to 4-Hz band. In zolpidem nights power was significantly reduced in the 4 to 8-Hz band during NREM (stages 2, 3 and 4) and was increased in the 2 to 4-Hz band during REM sleep. A significant reduction of fast activities over 12 Hz was observed during the first 3 h of sleep. Concerning slow wave activity, the only change noted was a significant slowing of its build-up rate at the beginning of cycle 1.

Abstract
A retrospective study on the effects of dobutamine on hemodynamic parameters of tissue oxygenation and lactic acid levels was performed in 35 patients. The use of the drug in a mean dose of 5.0 +/- 2.1 ug/kg/min was associated with a significant increase in cardiac index, oxygen transport and consumption and decrease in arterial lactic acid levels. A separate analysis of patients with or without basal hyperlactacidemia and those with favorable (decrease) or unfavorable (no change or increase) lactic acid response to the drug, was performed. This analysis disclosed important disagreements between changes in hemodynamic parameters of oxygen consumption and transport and arterial lactic acid levels, as indexes of tissue perfusion. It is concluded that is advisable to monitor together hemodynamics, oxygen transport and consumption and arterial lactic acid in patients with severe cardiorespiratory disturbances or shock.

Abstract
Patients admitted to intensive care units (ICU) experience constant changes in their general condition. Therefore, the determination of Apache score within the first 24 hours of admission may not be a reliable index of severity. The aim of this study was to measure daily Apache scores in ICU patients, and to determine if the maximum score (Maximum Apache) attained during hospitalization had a better prognostic value than that of admission. We measured daily Apache scores to 314 patients admitted to Hospital Clínico UC ICU. Mean admission score was 17.5 +/- 9.3 (range: 1-47) and mean maximum score was 18.6 +/- 9.7 (range: 1-47), p < 0.001. Mortality during ICU stay was 17.2%, and 8.6% during hospitalization after ICU discharge. Only 78.3% of patients attained their maximum apache score during the first 24 hours of admission, whereas 21.7% attained it during the rest of ICU hospitalization. Excluding subjects with less than one day of ICU stay, 33% of patients attained maximum Apache score after 24 hours of ICU admission. Statistical analysis showed that maximum Apache score was a better predictor of mortality than that of admission.

Abstract
Oocyte donation programs offer an alternative treatment for infertile women with ovarian failure or abnormal ovarian function. Seventeen cycles of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer with donated oocytes were performed in 13 women, with a mean age of 34.8 years. The hormonal replacement therapy consisted of a fixed dose of oral estradiol valerate, 6 mg daily, and intramuscular progesterone in oil, 100 mg daily. Estrogen and progesterone were continued for 10 more weeks after embryo transfer if pregnancy was established. After 13 embryo transfers, 8 pregnancies were obtained, for a pregnancy rate per transfer of 61.5%. Today seven pregnancies are progressing normally, including one set of twins. This results suggest that an oocyte donation program using a fixed and simple hormonal replacement therapy is an adequate treatment for these infertile couples.
