Abstract
OBJECTIVES Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), which includes multiple measures, has gradually become the standard perioperative management in pediatric surgery. However, it is still unclear which of its many measures affects the outcomes more. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of children with congenital choledochal cysts who underwent surgical treatment in a specialized children's hospital from January 2019 to December 2022. Data including baseline factors, implementation of ERAS interventions, postoperative complications, and postoperative length of stay (PLOS) were collected. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify the association between PLOS and baseline factors or specific ERAS measures. RESULTS The implementation rate of ERAS measures ranged from 5.02% to 100% in 219 cases who underwent 3 to 14 ERAS measures. Univariate analysis showed that body mass index-for-age z-scores, liver function indicators, and postoperative complications were the significant baseline factors for PLOS. At the same time, the measures with the greatest effect on PLOS were early postoperative feeding and early removal of tubes. Multivariate analysis with different models revealed that postoperative complications, early postoperative feeding, and early catheter removal influenced the PLOS the most. CONCLUSIONS A prolonged PLOS was associated with poor preoperative nutritional status, elevated liver function indexes, and postoperative complications. Early postoperative feeding and removal of tubes appeared more likely with a reduced PLOS than other measures, requiring more attention when implementing the ERAS protocol.

Abstract
γδT cells are unconventional T cells only accounting for 1-5 % of circulating T lymphocytes. Their potent anti-tumor capability has been evidenced by accumulating studies. However, the prognostic value of γδT cells remains not well documented in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). In this study, we utilized the TCGA HNSCC database to evaluate the infiltration of γδT cells and the association between γδT cells and clinicopathological factors by related gene signature, which were then validated by a total of 100 collected tumor samples from HNSCC patient cohort. Heterogeneity and functional characteristics of distinct infiltrating γδT cell profiles in HNSCC were then investigated based on the scRNA-seq data from the GEO database. We found higher γδT cell gene signature score was significantly associated with longer survival. Cox regression models showed that γδT cell gene signature could serve as an independent prognostic indicator for HNSCC patients. A high level of γδT cell-related gene signature was positively correlated with the infiltration of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and immune score. Through scRNA-seq analysis, we identified that γδ+ Trm cells and γδ+ CTL cells possessed anti-tumor and immunoregulatory properties. Notably, we found a significant association between the presence of these cells and improved survival outcomes. In our cell-cell communication analyses, we identified that γδT cells have the potential to eliminate tumor cells through the secretion of interferon-gamma and granzyme. Collectively, the infiltration of γδT cells may serve as a promising prognostic tool, prompting the consideration of treatment options for patients with HNSCC.

Abstract
There is considerable interest in the potential of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) combined with systemic therapy such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) or immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). However, its efficacy and safety remain unclear. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of conducting SBRT during ICI or TKI treatment in different disease settings for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). A total of 16 studies were ultimately included. Under the random effects model, the pooled 1-year local control rate (1-yr LCR) and objective response rate (ORR) were 90% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 80%-95%, I 2 = 67%) and 52% (95% CI: 37%-67%, I 2 = 90%), respectively. SBRT concomitant with different systemic therapy yield significant different 1-yr LCR (p < 0.01) and ORR (p = 0.02). Regarding survival benefits, the pooled 1-year progression-free survival (1-yr PFS) and 1-year overall survival (1-yr OS) rates were 45% (95% CI: 29%-62%, I 2 = 91%) and 85% (95% CI: 76%-91%, I 2 = 66%), respectively. 1-yr PFS and 1-yr OS in different disease settings demonstrated significant difference (p < 0.01). As for toxicity, the pooled incidence of grade 3-4 adverse events was 14% (95% CI: 5%-26%, I 2 = 90%). This study highlights the feasibility of utilizing these strategies in mRCC patients, especially those with a low metastatic tumor burden.

Abstract
The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is a transcription factor that is activated by various ligands, including pollutants, microorganisms, and metabolic substances. It is expressed extensively in pulmonary and intestinal epithelial cells, where it contributes to barrier defense. The expression of AhR is pivotal in regulating the inflammatory response to microorganisms. However, dysregulated AhR expression can result in endocrine disorders, leading to immunotoxicity and potentially promoting the development of carcinoma. This review focuses on the crucial role of the AhR in facilitating and limiting the proliferation of pathogens, specifically in relation to the host cell type and the species of etiological agents involved in microbial pathogen infections. The activation of AhR is enhanced through the IDO1-AhR-IDO1 positive feedback loop, which is manipulated by viruses. AhR primarily promotes the infection of SARS-CoV-2 by inducing the expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines. AhR also plays a significant role in regulating various types of T-cells, including CD4+ T cells and CD8+ T cells, in the context of pulmonary infections. The AhR pathway plays a crucial role in regulating immune responses within the respiratory and intestinal barriers when they are invaded by viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi. Additionally, we propose that targeting the agonist and antagonist of AhR signaling pathways could serve as a promising therapeutic approach for combating pathogen infections, especially in light of the growing prevalence of drug resistance to multiple antibiotics.

Abstract
Ameloblastoma is a benign tumor characterized by locally invasive phenotypes, leading to facial bone destruction and a high recurrence rate. However, the mechanisms governing tumor initiation and recurrence are poorly understood. Here, we uncovered cellular landscapes and mechanisms that underlie tumor recurrence in ameloblastoma at single-cell resolution. Our results revealed that ameloblastoma exhibits five tumor subpopulations varying with respect to immune response (IR), bone remodeling (BR), tooth development (TD), epithelial development (ED), and cell cycle (CC) signatures. Of note, we found that CC ameloblastoma cells were endowed with stemness and contributed to tumor recurrence, which was dominated by the EZH2-mediated program. Targeting EZH2 effectively eliminated CC ameloblastoma cells and inhibited tumor growth in ameloblastoma patient-derived organoids. These data described the tumor subpopulation and clarified the identity, function, and regulatory mechanism of CC ameloblastoma cells, providing a potential therapeutic target for ameloblastoma.

Abstract
Detecting airflow turbulence precursors promptly is crucial for ensuring flight safety and control. The initial stages of turbulence involve small reverse flows with random velocities and directions, which are not easily detected by existing airflow sensors. In this study, we designed a bionic, sensitivity-enhanced, bi-directional airflow sensor (BSBA) by incorporating bio-inspired circular tip slits and enlarging the central part of the cruciform beam structure. The BSBA exhibits a rapid response time (24.1 ms), high sensitivity (1.36 mV m-1 s-1), consistent detection of forward and backward airflow (correlation coefficient of 0.9854), and a low airflow detection threshold (1 ml). With these features, the proposed sensor can rapidly and accurately measure slight variations in the oscillating airflow, flow field, and contact force. The BSBA also achieves transparent obstacle detection on a quadrotor, even in visually challenging environments, by capturing minute changes in the flow fields produced by the quadrotor when encountering obstacles. The sensor's high sensitivity, consistent bi-directional detection, and fast response give it significant potential for enhancing safety in aircraft control systems.

Abstract
Tumor budding (TB) is a small tumor cell cluster with highly aggressive behavior located ahead of the invasive tumor front. However, the molecular and biological characteristics of TB and the regulatory mechanisms governing TB phenotypes remain unclear. This study reveals that TB exhibits a particular dynamic gene signature with stemness and partial epithelial-mesenchymal transition (p-EMT). Importantly, nuclear expression of CYTOR is identified to be the key regulator governing stemness and the p-EMT phenotype of TB cells, and targeting CYTOR significantly inhibits TB formation, tumor growth and lymph node metastasis in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Mechanistically, CYTOR promotes tumorigenicity and metastasis of TB cells by facilitating the formation of FOSL1 phase-separated condensates to establish FOSL1-dependent super enhancers (SEs). Depletion of CYTOR leads to the disruption of FOSL1-dependent SEs, which results in the inactivation of cancer stemness and pro-metastatic genes. In turn, activation of FOSL1 promotes the transcription of CYTOR. These findings indicate that CYTOR is a super-lncRNA that controls the stemness and metastasis of TB cells through facilitating the formation of FOSL1 phase separation and SEs, which may be an attractive target for therapeutic interventions in HNSCC.

Abstract
Osteoarthritis (OA), a chronic degenerative disease characterized mainly by damage to the articular cartilage, is increasingly relevant to the pathological processes of senescence, apoptosis, autophagy, proliferation, and differentiation of chondrocytes. Clinical strategies for osteoarthritis can only improve symptoms and even along with side effects due to age, sex, disease, and other factors. Therefore, there is an urgent need to identify new ideas and targets for current clinical treatment. The tumor suppressor gene p53, which has been identified as a potential target for tumor therapeutic intervention, is responsible for the direct induction of the pathological processes involved in OA modulation. Consequently, deciphering the characteristics of p53 in chondrocytes is essential for investigating OA pathogenesis due to p53 regulation in an array of signaling pathways. This review highlights the effects of p53 on senescence, apoptosis, and autophagy of chondrocytes and its role in the development of OA. It also elucidates the underlying mechanism of p53 regulation in OA, which may help provide a novel strategies for the clinical treatment of OA.

Abstract
Biodiversity plays a pivotal role in sustaining ecosystem processes, encompassing diverse biological species, genetic types and the intricacies of ecosystem composition. However, the precise definition of biodiversity at the individual level remains a challenging endeavour. Hill numbers, derived from Rényi's entropy, have emerged as a popular measure of diversity, with a recent unified framework extending their application across various levels, from genetics to ecosystems. In this study, we employ a computational approach to exploring the diversity of mitochondrial heteroplasmy using real-world data. By adopting Hill numbers with q = 2, we demonstrate the feasibility of quantifying mitochondrial heteroplasmy diversity within and between individuals and populations. Furthermore, we investigate the alpha diversity of mitochondrial heteroplasmy among different species, revealing heterogeneity at multiple levels, including mitogenome components and protein-coding genes (PCGs). Our analysis explores large-scale mitochondrial heteroplasmy data in humans, examining the relationship between alpha diversity at the mitogenome components and PCGs level. Notably, we do not find a significant correlation between these two levels. Additionally, we observe significant correlations in alpha diversity between mothers and children in blood samples, exceeding the reported R2 value for allele frequency correlations. Moreover, our investigation of beta diversity and local overlay similarity demonstrates that heteroplasmy variant distributions in different tissues of children more closely resemble those of their mothers. Through systematic quantification and analysis of mitochondrial heteroplasmy diversity, this study enhances our understanding of heterogeneity at multiple levels, from individuals to populations, providing new insights into this fundamental dimension of biodiversity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The study aims to analyse the non-calcifying/Langerhans cell rich (NCLC) subtype of calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumour (CEOT). METHOD: The features of cases of the NCLC subtype of CEOT noted in the English literature by PubMed as well as 3 new cases were reviewed. RESULTS Overall, twenty-one cases were noted. Many were women in the fourth to sixth decades (male-to-female ratio =1 to 2). Radiologically, the lesion is often unilocular with resorption of the affected teeth. Nineteen of the 21 cases occurred in the maxilla, especially the anterior portion. On pathological examination, epithelial cells are noted in non-calcifying amyloid-rich fibrous stroma. The main differential diagnosis is the amyloid subtype of central odontogenic fibroma. Immunohistochemical studies revealed the tumour epithelial cells were positive for cytokeratins and p63 and contained CD1a, S-100, and langerin-positive Langerhans cells. On a median follow-up of 2 years, one patient had a recurrence one year after curettage. CONCLUSION The NCLC subtype of CEOT is unique as it contains significant numbers of Langerhans cells and has clinicopathological features distinctive from classic CEOT.

Abstract
Long-read sequencing technologies can generate highly contiguous genome assemblies compared to short-read methods. However, their higher cost often poses a significant barrier. To address this, we explore the utilization of mapping-based genome assembly and reference-guided assembly as cost-effective alternative approaches. We assess the efficacy of these approaches in improving the contiguity of Clarias batrachus and Culter alburnus draft genomes. Our findings demonstrate that employing an iterative mapping strategy leads to a reduction in assembly errors. Specifically, after three iterations, the Mismatches per 100 kbp value for the C. batrachus genome decreased from 2447.20 to 2432.67, reaching a minimum of 2422.67 after two iterations. Additionally, the N50 value for the C. batrachus genome increased from 362,143 to 1,315,126 bp, with a maximum of 1,315,403 bp after two iterations. Furthermore, we achieved Mismatches per 100 kbp values of 3.70 for the reference-guided assembly of C. batrachus and 0.34 for C. alburnus. Correspondingly, the N50 value for the C. batrachus and C. alburnus genomes increased from 362,143 bp and 3,686,385 bp to 2,026,888 bp and 43,735,735 bp, respectively. Finally, we successfully utilized the improved C. batrachus and C. alburnus genomes to compare genome studies using the combined approach of Ragout and Ragtag. Through a comprehensive comparative analysis of mapping-based and reference-guided genome assembly methods, we shed light on the specific contributions of reference-guided assembly in reducing assembly errors and improving assembly continuity and integrity. These advancements establish reference-guided assembly and the utilization of in silico libraries as a promising and suitable approach for comparative genomics studies.

Abstract
KRAS G12D mutation has been found in approximately 45% of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cases, making it an attractive therapeutic target. Through structure-based drug design, a series of potent and selective KRAS G12D inhibitors were designed. The lead compound, ERAS-5024, inhibited ERK1/2 phosphorylation and cell proliferation in three-dimensional Cell-Titer Glo assays in AsPC-1 PDAC cells with single-digit nanomolar potency and caused tumor regression in the in vivo efficacy studies. We describe here the details of the design and synthesis program that led to the discovery of ERAS-5024.

Abstract
BACKGROUND BRD4, belonging to the bromodomain extra-terminal (BET) protein family, plays a unique role in tumor progression. However, the potential impact of BRD4 in ameloblastoma (AM) remains largely unknown. Herein, we aimed to assess the expression and functional role of BRD4 in AM. METHODS The expression level of BRD4 was assessed by immunohistochemistry. The proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumorigenic abilities of AM cells were assessed by a series of assays. To explore the molecular expression profile of BRD4-depleted AM cells, RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) was performed. Bioinformatic analysis was performed on AM expression matrices obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). The therapeutic efficacy of BET-inhibitors (BETi) was assessed with AM patient-derived organoids. RESULTS Upregulation of BRD4 was observed in conventional AMs, recurrent AMs, and ameloblastic carcinomas. Depletion of BRD4 inhibited proliferation, invasion, migration, and tumorigenesis in AM. Administration of BETi attenuated the aggressiveness of AM and the growth of AM patient-derived organoids. Bioinformatic analysis indicated that BRD4 may promote AM progression by regulating the Wnt pathway and stemness-associated pathways. CONCLUSION BRD4 increases the aggressiveness and promotes the recurrence of ameloblastoma by regulating the Wnt pathway and stemness-associated pathways. These findings highlight BRD4 as a promising therapeutic target in AM management.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common tumors in the world. Cholesterol plays an important role in the pathogenesis of tumors. One of the cholesterol transporters, scavenger receptor class B type 1 (SR-B1), a multi-ligand membrane receptor protein, is expressed in the intestines which also highly expressed in various tumors. But the potential mechanism of SR-B1 in CRC development has not been reported. AIMS This study aimed to clarify the importance of SR-B1 in the development and prognosis of CRC as much as possible to provide a possible strategy in CRC treatment. MATERIALS & METHODS In this study, we used SR-B1 gene knockdown mice to study the effect of SR-B1 on colitis-induced or APCmin/+ -induced CRC. The expression of related molecules were detected through the immunohistochemistry and hematoxylin-eosin staining, western blot analysis, and Flow cytometry. The gene expression and microbiota in microenvironment of CRC mice were analyzed through eukaryotic mRNA sequencing and 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing. RESULTS The results showed that SR-B1 knockdown reduced the tumor load of colitis-induced or APCmin/+ -induced CRC. SR-B1 knockdown improved the immune microenvironment by affecting the level of tumor-associated macrophage (TAM), mononuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (M-MDSCs), granulocytic myeloid-derived suppressor cells (G-MDSCs), programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), and human leukocyte antigen class I-B (HLA-B), and also reduced the level of low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDL-R), and increased the level of ATP binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) to regulate the cholesterol metabolism, and regulated the expression of related genes and intestinal microbiota. SR-B1 knockdown can also trigger the anti-CRC effect of anti-PD 1 in colitis-induced CRC. DISCUSSION SR-B1 deficiency significantly improved the immunity in tumor microenvironment of colitis-induced or APCmin/+ -induced CRC. In addition, the microbiota changes caused by SR-B1 deficiency favor improving the immune response to chemotherapeutic drugs and anti-PD1 therapy. The mechanism of action of SR-B1 deficiency on the development of CRC still needs further in-depth research. CONCLUSION This study provides a new treatment strategy for treating CRC by affecting the expression of SR-B1 in intestine.

Abstract
Combination strategies of KRAS inhibition with immunotherapy in treating advanced or recurrent colorectal carcinoma (CRC) may need to be assessed in circulating tumour cells (CTCs) to achieve better clinical outcomes. This study aimed to investigate the genomic variations of KRAS in CTCs and matched CRC tissues and compared mRNA expression of KRAS and CTLA-4 between wild-type and KRAS-mutated CTCs and CRC tissues. Clinicopathological correlations were also compared. Six known mutations of KRAS were identified at both codon 12 and codon 13 (c.35G>T/G12V, c.35G>A7/G12D, c.35G>C/G12A, c.34G>A/G12S, c.38G>C/G13A, and c.38G>A/G13D). Three CTC samples harboured the identified mutations (16.7%; 3/18), while fifteen matched primary tumour tissues (65.2%, 15/23) showed the mutations. CTCs harbouring the KRAS variant were different from matched CRC tissue. All the mutations were heterozygous. Though insignificant, CTLA-4 mRNA expression was higher in patients carrying KRAS mutations. Patients harbouring KRAS mutations in CTCs were more likely to have poorly differentiated tumours (p = 0.039) and with lymph node metastasis (p = 0.027) and perineural invasion (p = 0.014). KRAS mutations in CTCs were also significantly correlated with overall pathological stages (p = 0.027). These findings imply the genetic basis of KRAS with immunotherapeutic target molecules based on a real-time platform. This study also suggests the highly heterogeneous nature of cancer cells, which may facilitate the assessment of clonal dynamics across a single patient's disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Due to the chronic progressive disease characteristics of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), patients with advanced PBC should not be ignored. Most prognostic score studies have focused on early stage PBC. AIM To compare the prognostic value of various risk scores in advanced PBC to help PBC patients obtain more monitoring and assessment. METHODS This study considered patients diagnosed with PBC during hospitalization between 2015 and 2021. The clinical stage was primarily middle and late, and patients usually took ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) after diagnosis. The discriminatory performance of the scores was assessed with concordance statistics at baseline and after 1 year of UDCA treatment. Telephone follow-up was conducted to analyze the course and disease-associated outcomes. The follow-up deadline was December 31, 2021. We compared the risk score indexes between those patients who reached a composite end point of death or liver transplantation (LT) and those who remained alive at the deadline. The combined performance of prognostic scores in estimating the risk of death or LT after 1 year of UDCA treatment was assessed using Cox regression analyses. Predictive accuracy was evaluated by comparing predicted and actual survival through Kaplan-Meier analyses. RESULTS We included 397 patients who were first diagnosed with PBC during hospitalization and received UDCA treatment; most disease stages were advanced. After an average of 6.4 ± 1.4 years of follow-up, 82 patients had died, and 4 patients had undergone LT. After receiving UDCA treatment for 1 year, the score with the best discrimination performance was the Mayo, with a concordance statistic of 0.740 (95% confidence interval: 0.690-0.791). The albumin-bilirubin, GLOBE, and Mayo scores tended to overestimate transplant-free survival. Comparing 7 years of calibration results showed that the Mayo score was the best model. CONCLUSION The Mayo, GLOBE, UK-PBC, and ALBI scores demonstrated comparable discriminating performance for advanced stage PBC. The Mayo score showed optimal discriminatory performance and excellent predictive accuracy.

Abstract
Ferroptosis as a novel programmed cell death that involves metabolic dysfunction due to iron-dependent excessive lipid peroxidation has been implicated in atherosclerosis (AS) development characterized by disrupted lipid metabolism, but the atherogenic role of ferroptosis in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), which are principal components of atherosclerotic plaque fibrous cap, remains unclear. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of ferroptosis on AS induced by lipid overload, and the effects of that on VSMCs ferroptosis. We found intraperitoneal injection of Fer-1, a ferroptosis inhibitor, ameliorated obviously high-fat diet-induced high plasma levels of triglycerides, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, glucose and atherosclerotic lesions in ApoE-/- mice. Moreover, in vivo and in vitro, Fer-1 reduced the iron accumulation of atherosclerotic lesions through affecting the expression of TFR1, FTH, and FTL in VSMCs. Interestingly, Fer-1 did augment nuclear factor E2-related factor 2/ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 to enhance endogenous resistance to lipid peroxidation, but not classic p53/SCL7A11/GPX4. Those observations indicated inhibition of VSMCs ferroptosis can improve AS lesions independent of p53/SLC7A11/GPX4, which preliminarily revealed the potential mechanism of ferroptosis in aortic VSMCs on AS and provided new therapeutic strategies and targets for AS.

Abstract
III-nitride wide bandgap semiconductors are promising materials for modern optoelectronics and electronics. Their application has progressed greatly thanks to the continuous quality improvements of heteroepitaxial films grown on large-lattice-mismatched foreign substrates. But compared with bulk single crystals, there is still tremendous room for the further improvement of the material quality. Here we show a paradigm to achieve high-quality III-nitride heteroepitaxial films by the controllable discretization and coalescence of columns. By adopting nano-patterned AlN/sapphire templates with regular hexagonal holes, discrete AlN columns coalesce with uniform out-of-plane and in-plane orientations guaranteed by sapphire nitridation pretreatment and the ordered lateral growth of cleavage facets, which efficiently suppresses the regeneration of threading dislocations during coalescence. The density of dislocation etch pits in the AlN heteroepitaxial film reaches 3.3 × 104 cm-2, close to the present available AlN bulk single crystals. This study facilitates the growth of bulk-class quality III-nitride films featuring low cost and scalability.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Eribulin mesylate is a novel, nontaxane, microtubule dynamics inhibitor. In this study, we assessed the efficacy and safety of eribulin versus eribulin plus the oral small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor anlotinib in patients with locally recurrent or metastatic breast cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS In this single-center, open-label, phase II clinical study (NCT05206656) conducted in a Chinese hospital, patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative, locally recurrent or metastatic breast cancer previously treated with anthracycline- or taxane-based chemotherapy were randomized (1 : 1) to receive eribulin alone or in combination with anlotinib. The primary efficacy endpoint was investigator-assessed progression-free survival (PFS). RESULTS From June 2020 to April 2022, a total of 80 patients were randomly assigned to either eribulin monotherapy or eribulin plus anlotinib combination therapy, with 40 patients in each group. The data cut-off was 10 August 2022. The median PFS was 3.5 months [95% confidence interval (CI) 2.8-5.5 months] for eribulin and 5.1 months (95% CI 4.5-6.9 months) for eribulin plus anlotinib (hazard ratio = 0.56, 95% CI 0.32-0.98; P = 0.04). The objective response rates were 32.5% versus 52.5% (P = 0.07), respectively, and disease control rates were 67.5% versus 92.5% (P = 0.01), respectively. Patients <50 years of age, with an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status score of 0, visceral metastasis, number of treatment lines of four or more, hormone receptor negative (triple-negative), and HER2 low expression appeared to benefit more from combined treatment. The most common adverse events in both groups were leukopenia (n = 28, 70.0%, patients in the eribulin monotherapy group versus n = 35, 87.5%, patients in the combination therapy group), aspartate aminotransferase elevations (n = 28, 70.0%, versus n = 35, 87.5%), neutropenia (n = 25, 62.5%, versus n = 31, 77.5%), and alanine aminotransferase elevations (n = 25, 62.5%, versus n = 30, 75.0%). CONCLUSION Eribulin plus anlotinib can be considered an alternative treatment option for HER2-negative locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

Abstract
Current antihypertensive options still incompletely control blood pressure, suggesting the existence of uncovered pathogenic mechanisms. Here, whether cytokine-like protein family with sequence similarity 3, member D (FAM3D) is involved in hypertension etiology is evaluated. A case-control study exhibits that FAM3D is elevated in patients with hypertension, with a positive association with odds of hypertension. FAM3D deficiency significantly ameliorates angiotensin II (AngII)-induced hypertension in mice. Mechanistically, FAM3D directly causes endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) uncoupling and impairs endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation, whereas 2,4-diamino-6-hydroxypyrimidine to induce eNOS uncoupling abolishes the protective effect of FAM3D deficiency against AngII-induced hypertension. Furthermore, antagonism of formyl peptide receptor 1 (FPR1) and FPR2 or the suppression of oxidative stress blunts FAM3D-induced eNOS uncoupling. Translationally, targeting endothelial FAM3D by adeno-associated virus or intraperitoneal injection of FAM3D-neutralizing antibodies markedly ameliorates AngII- or deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA)-salt-induced hypertension. Conclusively, FAM3D causes eNOS uncoupling through FPR1- and FPR2-mediated oxidative stress, thereby exacerbating the development of hypertension. FAM3D may be a potential therapeutic target for hypertension.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Oriental river prawn Macrobrachium nipponense is an economically important aquaculture species in China, Japan, and Vietnam. In commercial prawn farming, feed cost constitutes about 50 to 65% of the actual variable cost. Improving feed conversion efficiency in prawn culture will not only increase economic benefit, but also save food and protect the environment. The common indicators used for feed conversion efficiency include feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed efficiency ratio (FER), and residual feed intake (RFI). Among these, RFI is much more suitable than FCR and FER during the genetic improvement of feed conversion efficiency for aquaculture species. RESULTS In this study, the transcriptome and metabolome of hepatopancreas and muscle of M. nipponense from high RFI low RFI groups, which identified after culture for 75 days, were characterized using combined transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis. A total of 4540 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in hepatopancreas, and 3894 DEGs in muscle were identified, respectively. The DEGs in hepatopancreas were mainly enriched in KEGG pathways including the metabolism of xenobiotics by cytochrome P450 (down-regulated), fat digestion and absorption (down-regulated) and aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis (up-regulated), etc. The DEGs in muscle were mainly enriched in KEGG pathways including the protein digestion and absorption (down-regulated), glycolysis/gluconeogenesis (down-regulated), and glutathione metabolism (up-regulated), etc. At the transcriptome level, the RFI of M. nipponense was mainly controlled in biological pathways such as the high immune expression and the reduction of nutrients absorption capacity. A total of 445 and 247 differently expressed metabolites (DEMs) were identified in the hepatopancreas and muscle, respectively. At the metabolome level, the RFI of M. nipponense was affected considerably by amino acid and lipid metabolism. CONCLUSIONS M. nipponense from higher and lower RFI groups have various physiological and metabolic capability processes. The down-regulated genes, such as carboxypeptidase A1, 6-phosphofructokinase, long-chain-acyl-CoA dehydrogenase, et. al., in digestion and absorption of nutrients, and the up-regulated metabolites, such as aspirin, lysine, et. al., in response to immunity could be potential candidate factors contributed to RFI variation for M. nipponense. Overall, these results would provide new insights into the molecular mechanism of feed conversion efficiency and assist in selective breeding to improve feed conversion efficiency in M. nipponense.

Abstract
In recent years, biological sulfur (bio-S) was employed in sulfur autotrophic denitrification (SAD) in which autotrophic Thiobacillus denitrificans and heterotrophic Stenotrophomonas maltophilia played a key role. The growth pattern of T.denitrificans and S.maltophilia exhibited a linear relationship between OD600 and CFU when OD600 < 0.06 and <0.1, respectively. When S.maltophilia has applied alone, the NorBC and NosZ were undetected, and denitrification was incomplete. The DsrA of S.maltophilia could produce sulfide as an alternative electron donor for T.denitrificans. Even though T.denitrificans had complete denitrification genes, its efficiency was low when used alone. The interaction of T.denitrificans and S.maltophilia reduced nitrite accumulation, leading to complete denitrification. A sufficient quantity of S.maltophilia may trigger the autotrophic denitrification activity of T.denitrificans. When the colony-forming units (CFU) ratio of S.maltophilia to T.denitrificans was reached at 2:1, the highest denitrification performance was achieved at 2.56 and 12.59 times higher than applied alone. This research provides a good understanding of the optimal microbial matching for the future application of bio-S.

Effects of advance care planning on end-of-life decisions among community-dwelling elderly people and their relatives: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Abstract
BACKGROUND Currently, more and more older people are inevitably facing the final stages of life and their need for end-of-life care is becoming more prominent. It is therefore important to understand in advance what older people expect from their approaching end-of-life care and attention. We conducted a meta-analysis to explore the influence of advance care planning (ACP) on end-of-life decision-making among older adults living in community settings and their family members. METHODS We searched databases including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science through 10 August 2022, to locate randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that investigated the effects of ACP on the end-of-life decision-making of community-dwelling elderly individuals and their family members. Studies we obtained from the databases were screened based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The software Stata 15.0 was used for combining and analyzing data. RESULTS A total of 8 RCTs were eligible for meta-analysis. They involved 1,292 community-dwelling elderly people. The meta-analysis results revealed the incidence of the following items among participants after the intervention of the ACP: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) [rate =26%, 95% confidence interval (CI): 11-41%], life-sustaining treatment (rate =12%, 95% CI: 6-18%), gastric gavage (rate =34%, 95% CI: 18-50%), mechanical ventilation (rate =34%, 95% CI: 14-54%), death at home (rate =7%, 95% CI: 3-12%), and death in hospital (rate =6%, 95% CI: 3-10%). The systematic review protocol was prespecified and registered in the international prospective register of systematic reviews (PROSPERO; CRD42022348900). CONCLUSIONS According to current research, ACP is a promising treatment that can improve the end of life of elderly people living in the community and their families. However, considering the heterogeneity of the included studies, multi-center RCTs with high quality and larger sample sizes need to be conducted to confirm our conclusions.

Abstract
Ferroptosis is a kind of iron-dependent renewal programmed death. Its main mechanism is to catalyze the unsaturated fatty acids highly expressed on the cell membrane under the effect of divalent iron, to produce lipid peroxidation, thus inducing cell death. SLC7A11 is a known iron death-related factor. It has been proved that iron death is involved in the occurrence and development of acute diseases, but the specific mechanism is unknown. The purpose of this review is to highlight the regulatory properties of SLC7A11 and gain a deeper understanding of its role in ferroptosis-related acute injury diseases. This is a narrative review. PubMed was used as the main source to randomly implement literature search strategy to index Scopus articles. No specific terms are used. Studies have shown that SLC7A11 may affect the sensitivity of cells to iron ptosis by regulating it at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level, which is related to the pathology of many acute injury diseases, such as acute lung injury (ALI), acute kidney injury (AKI), acute liver injury, myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, and acute cerebral hemorrhage. In order to clarify this point, more and more researchers turn their attention to the study of the specific mechanism between SLC7A11 and ferroptosis-related acute injury diseases. In summary, this review summarized some specific mechanisms by which ferroptosis could be controlled by SLC7A11 and clarified the underlying mechanisms of a series of diseases caused by SLC7A11-associated ferroptosis. It also provided more scientific justification for the clinical application of targeting ferroptosis in preventing and treating various diseases.

Abstract
Due to the growing demands of rare earth elements (REEs) and the vulnerability of REEs to potential supply disruption, there have been increasing interests in recovering REEs from waste streams such as coal fly ash (CFA). Meanwhile, CFA as a large industrial waste stream in the United States (U.S.) poses significant environmental and economic burdens. Recovery of REEs from CFA is a promising solution to the REE scarcity issue and also brings opportunities for CFA management. This study demonstrates a green system for REE recovery from Class F and C CFA that consists of three modules: REE leaching using citrate, REE separation and concentration using oxalate, and zeolite synthesis using secondary wastes from Modules I and II. In Module I, ∼10 and 60% REEs were leached from the Class F and C CFA samples, respectively, using citrate at pH 4. In Module II, the addition of oxalate selectively precipitated and concentrated REEs from the leachate via the formation of weddellite (CaC2O4·2H2O), while other trace metals remained in solution. In Module III, zeolite was synthesized using wastes from Modules I and II. This study is characterized by the successful recovery of REEs and upcycling of secondary wastes, which addresses both REE recovery and CFA management challenges.

Abstract
Megalobrama is China's most economically valuable fish genera. Four species make up this genus: M. amblycephala (MA), M. terminalis (MT), M. pellegrini (MP), and M. hoffmanni (MH). Many researchers have investigated the genetic relationship of Megalobrama based on mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and discovered that the branches of the phylogenetic tree for MT and MP are intertwined. We hypothesized that this occurs because mitogenomic heteroplasmy is overlooked when working with mtDNA, which causes MP and MT positions to intersect in phylogenetic trees. To eliminate the influence of nuclear mitochondrial DNA fragments (NUMTs) before analyzing mitogenomic heteroplasmy, we used PLastZ to identify NUMTs, which were then removed from the samples for the subsequent heteroplasmy analysis. Using the heteroplasmy caller icHET, we discovered 126, 339, 135, and 203 heteroplasmic variants in six MA, MT, MP, and MH samples. We reconstructed the Megalobrama fish genus's phylogenetic tree using the RY coding method and rejecting the third position on codons, which improved the performance of the phylogenetic tree by increasing the ratio of treeness to relative component variability from 100.02 ± 1.76 to 688.59 ± 190.56. Despite this, the RY coding method cannot alter the intersection of MP and MT positions in phylogenetic trees. We hypothesize that gene flow between MT and MP leads to intertwining mtDNA-based phylogenetic trees. In conclusion, our findings on the mitogenomic heteroplasmy of Megalobrama provide new insights into mtDNA-based phylogenetic studies. Abstract
BACKGROUND Vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) contractility is critical for blood pressure regulation and vascular homeostasis. Identifying the key molecule that maintains VSMC contractility may provide a novel therapeutic target for vascular remodeling. ALK3 (activin receptor-like kinase 3) is a serine/threonine kinase receptor, and deletion of ALK3 causes embryonic lethality. However, little is known about the role of ALK3 in postnatal arterial function and homeostasis. METHODS We conducted in vivo studies in a tamoxifen-induced postnatal VSMC-specific ALK3 deletion mice suitable for analysis of blood pressure and vascular contractility. Additionally, the role of ALK3 on VSMC was determined using Western blot, collagen-based contraction assay and traction force microscopy. Furthermore, interactome analysis were performed to identify the ALK3-associated proteins and bioluminescence resonance energy transfer assay was used to characterize Gαq activation. RESULTS ALK3 deficiency in VSMC led to spontaneous hypotension and impaired response to angiotensin II in mice. In vivo and in vitro data revealed that ALK3 deficiency impaired contraction force generation by VSMCs, repressed the expression of contractile proteins, and inhibited the phosphorylation of myosin light chain. Mechanistically, Smad1/5/8 signaling mediated the ALK3-modulated contractile protein expressions but not myosin light chain phosphorylation. Furthermore, interactome analysis revealed that ALK3 directly interacted with and activated Gαq (guanine nucleotide-binding protein subunit αq)/Gα11 (guanine nucleotide-binding protein subunit α11), thereby stimulating myosin light chain phosphorylation and VSMC contraction. CONCLUSIONS Our study revealed that in addition to canonical Smad1/5/8 signaling, ALK3 modulates VSMC contractility through direct interaction with Gαq/Gα11, and therefore, might serve as a potential target for modulating aortic wall homeostasis.

Abstract
A 63-year-old woman with a five-month history of pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (PEH) presented to the emergency department, due to worsening dyspnea and chest pain. The electrocardiography showed a pattern of ST-segment elevation in leads I, AVL, and poor R-wave progression consistent with anterolateral ischemia. Emergent coronary angiography revealed severe stenosis of the left main coronary artery. Then, contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan indicated the right pulmonary artery and left main coronary artery narrowing by compression of metastasized PEH. Finally, the patient died of deteriorated multi-organ failure.

Abstract
Interspecific hybridization has the potential to increase animal genetic diversity, enable the introgression of advantageous genetic variation, and even create hybrid lineages. Using the low-coverage whole-genome sequencing data of black Amur bream (Megalobrama terminalis [SJ]), topmouth culter (Culter alburnus [QZ]), and their hybrid progeny, we focused on the sequence variation and contribution bias to the genomic composition of the hybrid lineages of SJ♀ × QZ♂ [ZJ] and QZ♀ × SJ♂ [FJ]. Both mash-based genetic distance analysis and variant analysis based on various reference genomes revealed that the hybrid lineages' genomes are more prone to QZ composition. Furthermore, we assess the degree of subgenomic intermixing between parents QZ and SJ in the FJ and ZJ hybrid lineages. In the Jaccard index-zero genomic area, 89.41% of the genomic region in ZJ and 90.23% in FJ are entirely from one of the parental genomes. This genomic area is primarily from QZ, regardless of FJ or ZJ. In FJ, the proportion is 55.70%; in ZJ, the proportion is 54.60%. Using the reference-free variant discovery tool, we identified two InDel markers (Both were SSR-type InDel markers) and one (T/A)-type SNP marker that displayed differences in agarose electrophoresis. Our current findings suggest that parental genomic contribution bias leads to an imbalance in the genomic composition of hybrid lineages. The genomic composition bias is connected to species but not maternal effects, giving insights into the development of vertebrate genomes shortly after hybridization.

Abstract
The ongoing COVID19 pandemic is having detrimental effects on the mental and emotional well-being of many adults and children. It is relevant therefore to explore the combination of personal strengths and attributes that can help an individual develop resilience to such stress. Little is known about how psychological strength assets such as social connectedness, grit, hope, life meaning, and life satisfaction are inter-related, and if certain factors play a central role. This study involved a sample of 1,405 school-aged children in Hong Kong (50% female) from seven schools that participated in an online survey of psychological strengths. Data were analyzed by constructing a psychological network that found strength factors are inter-connected, and that 'school connectedness' and 'agency thinking' are central to the network. The information gained can be of value in any schools that are planning to provide strength-based interventions to help students maintain their psychological well-being during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) is a clinical pathway that optimizes perioperative management based on evidence-based medicine. ERAS has been gradually introduced to pediatric surgery in recent years. However, there are limited reports on its overall implementation. We aimed to determine the implementation of ERAS in patients who received pediatric surgery in mainland China. METHODS We designed a questionnaire involving 17 key ERAS elements and sent the questionnaire to 66 chiefs of pediatric surgery distributed throughout 31 provinces in mainland China to obtain a baseline assessment of the assimilation of ERAS protocols in the care of congenital biliary dilatation (CBD). RESULTS A total of 66 questionnaires were collected. The range of elements implemented at participating centers was 4-16, with a mean of 10.23. The least commonly practiced elements were administration of non-opioid preoperative analgesia (6 centers, 9.09%), prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting [PONV] (9 centers, 13.64%), and postoperative pain management (26 centers, 39.39%). CONCLUSIONS The implementation of elements differed from center to center. Measures relying primarily on anesthesiologists had lower execution. The adherence to ERAS elements was often inhibited by a lack of institutional support, poor knowledge of ERAS protocols, and difficulties in coordinating multidisciplinary care, as well intransigence in changing surgical practices out of fear of liability for poor outcomes.

Abstract
The immune memory of over 400 million COVID-19 convalescents is not completely understood. In this integrated study, we recorded the post-acute sequelae symptoms and tested the immune memories, including circulating antibodies, memory B cell, and memory CD4 or CD8 T cell responses of a cohort of 65 COVID-19 patients over 1-year after infection. Our data show that 48% of them still have one or more sequelae symptoms and all of them maintain at least one of the immune components. The chances of having sequelae symptoms or having better immune memory are associated with peak disease severity. We did four-time points sampling per subject to precisely understand the kinetics of durability of SARS-CoV-2 circulating antibodies. We found that the RBD IgG levels likely reach a stable plateau at around 6 months, albeit it is waning at the first 6 months after infection. At 1-year after infection, more than 90% of the convalescents generated memory CD4 or CD8 T memory responses, preferably against the SARS-CoV-2 M peptide pool. The convalescents also have polyfunctional and central memory T cells that could provide rapid and efficient response to SARS-CoV-2 re-infection. Based on this information, we assessed the immune protection against the Omicron variant and concluded that convalescents should still induce effective T cell immunity against the Omicron. By studying the circulating antibodies and memory B or T cell responses to SARS-CoV-2 in an integrated manner, our study provides insight into the understanding of protective immunity against diseases caused by secondary SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Abstract
Microcantilevers are one of the most essential sensitive elements for various mechanical sensors. Their sensing performance determines the index level of a series of sensors. To date, the long-standing trade-off between ultrasensitivity and long-term durability of microcantilevers still remains a challenge. In nature, scorpions can sense vibrations as low as 10 nm amplitude through their circular tip slits sensilla. Such slit sensilla embedded in the exoskeleton of walking legs endure the compressing and stretching of every movement without spontaneous fracture failures. Here, we focused on the structural design of the circular tip slits which concentrate stress effectively and disperse energy smoothly, with the result that the microcantilevers are ultrasensitive and durable simultaneously in a single element. We devised a reproducible circular tip slits cantilever with enhanced sensitivity and ultralow detection limits to monitor 7 nm amplitude vibrations. The sensor possessed excellent durability and remained highly consistent with the correlation coefficient of nearly 0.999 over 100 000 cycles. Furthermore, the circular tip slits cantilever could precisely sense diverse subtle mechanical signals and exhibited potential applications in monitoring respiratory patterns. The simple geometric design can be easily manufactured on various sensory materials for applications requiring ultrahigh sensitivity and long-time durability.

Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) tumor model has always poorly predicted drug response of animal model due to the lack of recapitulation of tumor microenvironment. Establishing a biomimetic, controllable, and cost-effective three-dimensional (3D) model and large-scale validation of its in vivo predictivity has shown promise in bridging the gap between the 2D tumor model and animal model. Here, we established a matrigel-based 3D micro-tumor model on an array chip for large-scale anticancer drug evaluation. Compared with the 2D tumor model, the 3D tumor model on the chip showed spheroid morphology, slower proliferation kinetics, and comparable reproducibility. Next, the results of the chemotherapeutic evaluation from 18 drugs against 27 cancer cell lines showed 17.6% of drug resistance on the 3D tumor model. Moreover, the evaluation results of targeted drugs showed expected sensitivity and higher specificity on the 3D tumor model compared with the 2D model. Finally, the evaluation results on the 3D tumor model were more consistent with the in vivo cell-derived xenograft model, and excluded 95% false-positive results from the 2D model. Overall, the matrigel-based 3D micro-tumor model on the array chip provides a promising tool to accelerate anticancer drug discovery.

Abstract
Microsatellites, also known as simple sequence repeats (SSRs), are the preferred type of marker for many genetic applications. In conjunction with the ongoing development of next-generation sequencing, several bioinformatic tools have been developed for identifying SSRs from genomic or transcriptomic sequences. Although these tools are handy for generating polymorphic SSRs, their application almost always depends on an existing reference genome or self-assembly of the reference genome. With this in mind, we propose a pipeline for developing polymorphic SSRs that may be applied to species without reference genomes. Using a species without a reference genome (black Amur bream; Megalobrama terminalis Richardson, 1846) as a model, our pipeline was able to effectively discover polymorphic SSRs. Under different R parameters of a reference-free single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) caller (ebwt2InDel), a total of 258, 208, 102, and 11 polymorphic SSRs were mined. To quantify the accuracy of the polymorphic SSRs detected using our pipeline, we analyzed 25 SSRs with PCR experiments. All primers were successfully amplified, and most SSRs (23 SSRs, 92%) were polymorphic. From the 36 individual black Amur bream, we acquired an average of 3.36 alleles per locus, ranging from one to 11. This demonstrates the effectiveness of our pipeline in identifying polymorphic SSRs and designing primers for SSR genotyping. Ultimately, our pipeline can effectively mine polymorphic SSRs for species without reference genomes, complementing SSR mining approaches based on reference genomes and helping to resolve biological issues that accompany these methods. Abstract
BACKGROUND Tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TIICs) are critical components of tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), which play crucial roles during tumor initiation, development and progression. However, the prognostic value of TIICs is still not well documented in clinical early-stage oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). In this study, we aimed to assess the prognostic value of TIICs in clinical early-stage OSCC and develop a nomogram based on TIICs to predict the prognosis. METHODS Eighty patients with clinical early-stage (cT1,2N0M0) OSCC were enrolled in this study. Immunohistochemical staining was performed to evaluate the infiltration of TIICs, including CD8+ T cells, CD57+ NK cells, CD163+ macrophage and CD20+ B cells. Overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) curves were plotted by the Kaplan-Meier method. Cox's proportional hazards regression models were performed to assess the prognostic value of TIICs. Finally, a nomogram was established to predict the OS based on TIICs infiltration and assessed by concordance index (C-index) and calibration curve. RESULTS High infiltrations of CD57+ NK cells and CD20+ B cells indicated a better OS in clinical early-stage OSCC. Moreover, high infiltration of CD20+ B cells favored a longer DFS. Of note, low infiltrations of CD57+ NK cells and CD20+ B cells were independent prognostic factors for poor OS in clinical early-stage OSCC. The nomogram that combined CD57+ NK cells with CD20+ B cells could predict the OS in clinical early-stage OSCC, and the C-index was 0.801 (95% CI, 0.679-0.924). The calibration plot showed that prediction and observation are well matched. CONCLUSIONS High infiltration of CD57+ NK cells and CD20+ B cells indicate a favorable OS in clinical early-stage OSCC. The nomogram constructed based on TIICs might be used for predicting the prognosis in clinical early-stage OSCC.

Abstract
Background FOSL1, a key component of the Activating protein-1 (AP-1) transcriptional complex, plays an important role in cancer cell migration, invasion, and proliferation. However, the impact of FOSL1 in ameloblastoma (AM) has not been clarified. Herein, we aimed to assess the expression of FOSL1 and investigate its functional role in AM. Methods The expression of FOSL1 was examined based on an immunohistochemistry analysis of 96 AM samples. Cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumorigenesis were assessed using Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), colony formation, Transwell, and sphere formation assays. RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) was employed to investigate the molecular alterations of AM cells upon FOSL depletion. Microarrays of AMs were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database for bioinformatics analysis. In addition, patient-derived AM organoids were used to evaluate the therapeutic value of the AP-1 inhibitor. Results FOSL1 was detected in the nuclei of AMs and upregulated in conventional AMs compared to unicystic AMs and normal oral epithelium. Compared with primary AM, FOSL1 expression was significantly increased in recurrent AM. Genetic knockdown of FOSL1 suppressed the proliferation, migration, invasion, and sphere formation of AMs. Similar results were also observed by pharmacological inhibition of AP-1 activity. Moreover, the AP-1 inhibitor T5224 impeded the growth of organoids derived from AM patients. Mechanistically, our Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) results revealed that depletion of FOSL1 inactivated kinetochore metaphase signaling and the epithelial–mesenchymal transition pathway and then impaired the aggressiveness of AM cells accordingly. Conclusion FOSL1 promotes tumor recurrence and invasive growth in AM by modulating kinetochore metaphase signaling and the epithelial–mesenchymal transition pathway; thus, it represents a promising therapeutic target for AM treatment.

Effects of biological nitrification inhibitor in regulating NH 3 volatilization and fertilizer nitrogen recovery efficiency in soils under rice cropping. Abstract
Biological nitrification inhibitors are exudates from plant roots that can inhibit nitrification, and have advantages over traditional synthetic nitrification inhibitors. However, our understanding of the effects of biological nitrification inhibitors on nitrogen (N) loss and fertilizer N recovery efficiency in staple food crops is limited. In this study, acidic and calcareous soils were selected, and rice growth pot experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of the biological nitrification inhibitor, methyl 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate (MHPP) and/or a urease inhibitor (N-[n-butyl], thiophosphoric triamide [NBPT]) on NH3 volatilization, N leaching, fertilizer N recovery efficiency under a 20% reduction of the conventional N application rate. Our results show that rice yield and fertilizer N recovery efficiency were more sensitive to reduced N application in the calcareous soil than in the acidic soil. MHPP stimulated NH3 volatilization by 13.2% in acidic soil and 9.06% in calcareous soil but these results were not significant. In the calcareous soil, fertilizer N recovery efficiency significantly increased by 19.3% and 44.4% in the MHPP and NBPT+MHPP groups, respectively, relative to the reduced N treatment, and the rice yield increased by 16.7% in the NBPT+MHPP treatment (P < 0.05). However, such effects were not significant in the acidic soil. MHPP exerted a significant effect on soil ammonia oxidizers, and the response of abundance and community structure of ammonia-oxidizing archaea, ammonia-oxidizing bacteria, and total bacteria to MHPP depended on the soil type. MHPP+NBPT reduced NH3 volatilization, N leaching, and maintaining rice yield for a 20% reduction in conventional N fertilizer application rate. This could represent a viable strategy for more sustainable rice production, despite the inevitable increase in cost for famers.

Abstract
Objective The objective of this study is to explore the application of a very important person (VIP) intervention mode in patients with advanced tumors in the western region of China. Methods One hundred and sixty-three patients were randomly divided into a control and experimental groups. The control group received routine care, and the experimental group received VIP future care. The willingness to end-of-life treatment, decision-making certainty, and quality of life were compared between the two groups before intervention (T0), after intervention (T1), and 1 month after intervention (T2). Results There were no significant differences in the basic data of the two groups. Unlike the control group, the experimental group preferred palliative care at the end of T1 (P < 0.05), and the acceptance rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mechanical treatment decreased significantly. After the VIP intervention, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) (P < 0.05). After 1 month of intervention (T2), the results showed that the overall quality of life, physical discomfort, negative emotions, care and support, survival predicament, and lifetime value of the patients were significantly higher than those before the intervention (all P < 0.05). Decision certainty results showed that the differences between the T0, T1, and T2 time points and the interaction between groups and time were statistically significant, and the interaction was more significant at T2 (P < 0.05). Conclusion VIP future care can change patients' wishes for end-of-life care, improve patients' and quality of life, and increase patient decision-making certainty.

Abstract
The oriental river prawn Macrobrachium nipponense is an important aquaculture species in China, Vietnam, and Japan. This species could survive in the salinity ranging from 7 to 20 ppt and accelerate growth in the salinity of 7 ppt. To identify the genes and pathways in response to acute high salinity stress, M. nipponense was exposed to the acute high salinity of 25 ppt. Total RNA from hepatopancreas, gills, and muscle tissues was isolated and then sequenced using high-throughput sequencing method. Differentially expressed genes (DGEs) were identified, and a total of 632, 836, and 1246 DEGs with a cutoff of significant twofold change were differentially expressed in the hepatopancreas, gills, and muscle tissues, respectively. Gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genome pathway enrichment analyses were conducted. These DEGs were involved in the GO terms of cellular process, metabolic process, membrane, organelle, binding, and catalytic activity. The DEGs of hepatopancreas and gill tissues were mainly enriched in PPAR signaling pathway, longevity regulating pathway, protein digestion and absorption, and the DEGs of muscle tissue in arginine biosynthesis, adrenergic signaling in cardiomyocytes, cardiac muscle contraction, and cGMP-PKG signaling pathway. Real-time PCR conducted with fifteen selected DEGs indicated high reliability of digital analysis using RNA-Seq. The results indicated that the M. nipponense may regulate essential mechanisms such as metabolism, oxidative stress, and ion exchange to adapt the alternation of environment, when exposed to acute high salinity stress. This work reveals the numbers of genes modified by salinity stress and some important pathways, which could provide a comprehensive insight into the molecular responses to high salinity stress in M. nipponense and further boost the understanding of the potential molecular mechanisms of adaptation to salinity stress for euryhaline crustaceans.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cytocapsular tubes (CTs) provide membranous channels for cancer cells interconnection and multidirectional locomotion, which facilitate cancer cell transportation and metastasis. However, the clinicopathological significance of CTs has not been documented in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Herein, we aimed to identify CTs and assess their clinicopathological significance in OSCC. METHODS Operetta CLS™ high-content analysis system was used to detect the CTs originated from OSCC cells cultured in a 3D Matrigel matrix. Then, pan-cadherin and γ-actin immunostaining were performed to identify CTs in 4NQO-induced murine OSCC tissues, OSCC xenografts and 88 human primary OSCC samples. Finally, the prognostic value and clinicopathological significance of CTs in OSCC were further examined by using the Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression analysis. RESULTS CTs were observed in OSCC cells in a 3D Matrigel matrix. In vivo, CTs were frequently identified in 4NQO-induced murine OSCC tissues, OSCC xenografts and human primary OSCC samples. CTs density was significantly associated with T stage, lymph node metastasis, differentiation, invasive depth, tumor budding, TNM stage and tumor recurrence. Importantly, the high-CTs density indicated a decreased overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) in OSCC patients. Cox regression models showed that CTs could serve as a prognostic factor for OS and PFS. CONCLUSION CTs, which are correlated with the cell migration and invasion, can be readily identified in OSCC and appear to be a novel biomarker for patients at risk of metastasis.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the infection status of HIV and related factors in men who have sex with men (MSM) in Shanxi province in 2010, 2015 and 2020. Methods: According to the sentinel surveillance protocol, continuous cross-sectional survey were conducted to collect the information about basic characteristics, general demographic characteristics, AIDS knowledge awareness, high-risk sexual behavior, sexually transmitted diseases, intervention services and HIV infection rate of the MSM in Shanxi in 2010, 2015 and 2020. Results: In 2010, 2015 and 2020, a total of 2 708 MSM were included in this study. There were significant differences in HIV infection rate among three years (χ2=23.76, P<0.001) with an increasing trend with year (trend χ2 =17.34, P<0.001). The rates of anal sex, commercial sex and heterosexual behavior in the past 6 months were 77.62% (2 102/2 708), 5.91% (160/2 708) and 28.14% (762/2 708) respectively, and the rates of consistent use of condom were 52.52% (1 104/2 102), 63.13% (101/160) and 23.49%(179/762) respectively, and the rate of consistent condom use was low. Results from multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that different cities, having educational level of junior high school or below, being recruited through internet, voluntary counseling and testing, suffering from sexually transmitted diseases, occasional condom use in anal sex in the past 6 months were the correlative factors of HIV infection of MSM. Conclusions: The HIV infection rate of MSM in Shanxi increased year by year from 2010, 2015 to 2020. The HIV/AIDS-related risk behavior persisted, and the proportion of condomuse adherence was low, and the HIV detection rate was low in the MSM, so targeted and effective measures should be taken to promote the condom use adherence and regular HIV testing in MSM.

Abstract
Purpose To discuss the intervention effect of biofeedback therapy combined with cluster nursing on perioperative constipation in patients with thoracolumbar fracture. Methods From June 2019 to June 2020, a total of 482 patients with thoracolumbar fracture who were treated by surgery in our department were selected. The random number table method was used to divide into experimental group (n = 241) and control group (n = 241). The control group was given routine constipation care, the experimental group was given biofeedback therapy combined with cluster nursing based on the control group. The constipation score, Bristol stool scale score, the short health questionnaire (SF-36) scale score, and the satisfaction of two groups were observed. Results The constipation scores of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, while the Bristol stool scale score, SF-36 score, and satisfaction degree of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group (p < 0.05). Conclusion Biofeedback therapy combined with cluster nursing has a good intervention effect in perioperative constipation of patients with thoracolumbar fracture, which can reduce the degree of constipation, improve stool traits, improve the quality of life, and improve the satisfaction of patients.

Abstract
Congenital abnormalities of the biliary system are a consideration in children with biliary symptomatology. The preoperative diagnosis rate is still not satisfactory, despite progresses made in imaging technology, with the potential of biliary tract injury if surgery is indicated. The double gallbladder is a rare developmental abnormality of the biliary tract with several anatomical variations. This abnormality was accurately delineated in a 7-year-old child by MRI/MRCP, allowing the ductal anatomy to be accurately identified and safe laparoscopic cholecystectomies to be performed.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Malnutrition is associated with increased incidence of heart failure (HF). Left ventricular (LV) remodeling is one of the most important processes in the occurrence and evolution of HF. However, the association between nutritional status and LV remodeling is not well known. The study aimed to investigate the association between malnutrition and LV remodeling. DESIGN The study was a retrospective observation study. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS We included patients from the registry of Cardiorenal Improvement study from January 2007 to December 2018 at Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital. MEASUREMENTS The primary endpoint was LV remodeling, defined as an absolute decrease in LV ejection fraction ≥10% after discharge compared with baseline. Nutritional status was assessed by the Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score. Eligible patients were divided into absent-mild malnutrition group (CONUT score ≤4) and moderate-severe malnutrition group (CONUT score >4). Univariable and multivariable logistic regression was performed to verify the association between malnutrition and left ventricular remodeling. RESULTS A total of 7,217 patients (mean age 61.3±10.5 years, 71.7% male) were included in the final analysis, among which 712 (9.9%) had LV remodeling. The incidence of LV remodeling in moderate-severe malnutrition group was significantly higher than that in absent-mild malnutrition group (12.9% vs. 9.5%, p=0.002). In multivariable logistic regression, moderate-severe malnutrition group was significantly associated with 1.69-fold increased risk of LV remodeling after adjusting confounders (OR: 1.69, CI: 1.32-2.16). Similar results were observed in subgroup stratified by age, gender, and coronary artery disease. CONCLUSION Nearly one eighth of patients were classified as moderate-severe malnutrition, 12% of whom had LV remodeling. Moderate-severe malnutrition was associated with 69% increased risk of LV remodeling. Further studies are needed to prospectively evaluate the nutrition-oriented managements on outcomes in LV remodeling.
