Abstract
BACKGROUND There is a dearth of information regarding mpox risk perception and vaccine acceptance among people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), especially in countries with a dual burden of HIV and mpox, such as Nigeria. METHODS We used an explanatory mixed methods design and structured questionnaires administered to a clinic-based sample of people living with HIV (n=430), followed by in-depth interviews with a purposive subsample (n=20). Data were analysed using binary logistic regression and the framework approach. RESULTS More than one-third (38.1% [n=164]) of the respondents self-perceived a high risk of mpox and 64.4% (n=277) indicated a willingness to receive the vaccine. Willingness to accept the mpox vaccine was positively associated with male sex, older age, non-Muslim faith, unmarried status, post-secondary education and current civil service employment. The odds of accepting the mpox vaccine was also higher among respondents who perceived mpox as a serious disease (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 1.41 [95% confidence interval {CI} 1.12 to 2.35]), self-assessed a higher risk (aOR 1.66 [95% CI 1.19 to 3.06]) and were concerned about contracting the disease (aOR 1.78 [95% CI 1.12 to 3.94]). Reasons for hesitancy included anxiety about vaccine-antiretroviral drug interactions, low risk perception, perceived protection from antiretroviral treatment, the newness of the vaccine, mistrust of authorities and pharmaceutical companies and concerns regarding vaccine safety. CONCLUSIONS Mpox risk perception and vaccine acceptance were suboptimal. Vaccine acceptance was influenced by sociodemographic, perceived susceptibility and health behaviour-related factors. Targeted risk communication will enhance acceptance of mpox vaccination among people living with HIV in Nigeria.

Abstract
Background The outbreak of Mpox in China has rendered the promotion of effective preventive measures among susceptible populations particularly crucial. We aimed to explore the correlates and develop a model for Mpox vaccination intention. Methods We distributed a questionnaire to a sample of 2403 men who have sex with men to investigate whether they would get a Mpox vaccine. The participants were randomly split into a training set and a testing set in a ratio of 3:1. We screened relevant variables by the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis and included them into a Mpox vaccination intention model, which used a multivariate logistic regression analysis and presented the findings as a nomogram. We used the receiver operating characteristic curve, calibration curve, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, lift test, and population stability index to test the validity and stability of the model. Results Of the 2403 participants in our sample, 87.1% intended to get an Mpox vaccine. Five of the thirty-one screened variables, i.e. Mpox knowledge, social support, vaccination internal rewards, vaccination external rewards, and vaccination response efficacy, were included in the vaccination intention model. The model demonstrated strong risk differentiation (Kolmogorov-Smirnov value = 0.46), moderate predictive power (training area under the curve = 0.7709), and good calibration fit, indicating robust performance. Conclusions Our proposed model has a good performance and is highly stable, while our findings suggest that governments should design targeted public health strategies, integrating social engagement and leveraging peer and community education to promote Mpox vaccination.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vaccine acceptance among People Living with HIV (PLWH) is crucial for managing and mitigating the spread of infectious diseases, including Mpox. This systematic review and meta-analysis assess the rate of vaccine acceptance for Mpox among PLWH and identify factors influencing these rates. METHODS We searched major databases including PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science up to 30 August 2024 for observational studies involving PLWH that reported on mpox vaccine acceptance rates. A random-effects model was employed for the meta-analysis, utilizing R software version 4.4. Heterogeneity among the studies was quantified using the I² statistic, and the methodological quality of each study was assessed using a modified version of the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. RESULTS Out of 1,123 articles identified, 17 studies met the inclusion criteria and included 7,248 participants. The pooled estimate of the Mpox vaccine acceptance rate was 61.1% (95% CI: 44.2-75.7%), with high heterogeneity (I² = 99%). Additionally, a pooled vaccine hesitancy prevalence was 13.2%, (95% CI: 2.4-48.6%), reflecting substantial variability and had high heterogeneity (I² = 98%). CONCLUSION This systematic review and meta-analysis reveal moderate Mpox vaccine acceptance and considerable hesitancy among PLWH. To further increase vaccine uptake and address any remaining hesitancy in this at-risk population, targeted public health strategies and ongoing research are necessary. Strengthening vaccine acceptance is critical to safeguarding PLWH against emerging infectious diseases such as Mpox. CLINICAL TRIAL NUMBER Not applicable.

Abstract
Background Self-efficacy in mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) prevention plays a pivotal role in promoting preventive behaviors by fostering a sense of control and motivation, especially among men who have sex with men (MSM), the population most affected by mpox in many countries. Objective This study aims to assess the mpox prevention self-efficacy among MSM in China and identify factors influencing it, using a validated mpox prevention self-efficacy scale. Methods From October 2023 to March 2024, a nationwide cross-sectional study was conducted among MSM (aged ≥18 years) across 6 geographic regions in China using a snowball sampling method. The recruited participants (effective response rate=2403/2481, 96.9%) were asked to complete an anonymous questionnaire designed based on prior knowledge of mpox and social cognitive theory. The mpox prevention self-efficacy scale was evaluated for construct validity using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, and its reliability was assessed using the Cronbach α coefficient. Univariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses were used to examine the factors associated with mpox prevention self-efficacy among MSM. Results A total of 2403 MSM participants were included, with a mean age of 29 (IQR 19-39) years. Of these, 1228 (51.1%) were aged 25-34 years, 1888 (78.6%) held a college degree or higher, and 2035 (84.7%) were unmarried. The median mpox prevention self-efficacy score was 23 (IQR 18-28). Exploratory factor analysis retained 6 items of the mpox prevention self-efficacy scale. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed a strong model fit (χ²₅=32.1, n=1225; P<.001; comparative fit index=0.991; root mean square error of approximation=0.067; standardized root mean square residual=0.02; goodness-of-fit index=0.992; normed fit index=0.990; incremental fit index=0.991; Tucker-Lewis index=0.974), with all indices within acceptable ranges. The scale demonstrated good internal consistency, with a Cronbach α of 0.859. The positive factors associated with mpox prevention self-efficacy were mpox-related knowledge (OR 1.107, 95% CI 1.070-1.146), perceived risk awareness (OR 1.338, 95% CI 1.132-1.583), and mpox risk perception (OR 1.154, 95% CI 1.066-1.250), while the negative factor was age, with individuals aged 25 years and older exhibiting lower self-efficacy in mpox prevention (25-34 years: OR 0.789, 95% CI 0.642-0.970; 35-44 years: OR 0.572, 95% CI 0.444-0.736; 45 years and older: OR 0.569, 95% CI 0.394-0.823). Conclusions These findings highlight the critical role of targeted interventions to enhance mpox prevention self-efficacy, particularly through increasing knowledge, perceived risk awareness, and risk perception. Such interventions are especially important for middle-aged and older MSM, who may experience a decline in self-efficacy. Strengthening self-efficacy in these areas is essential for promoting sustained preventive behaviors, improving mental well-being, and contributing to more effective mpox prevention and control within the MSM community.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vaccination hesitancy poses a serious threat to mpox vaccination programs. Historically, vaccine uptake in the African region has been low, and this trend may impact future vaccination efforts. Our aim was to investigate the relationships between mpox vaccination hesitancy, immunisation coverage for other vaccines, and vaccination readiness among African adults. METHODS A multinational commercial web panel survey was conducted among 1832 African adults across six countries (Uganda, Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa) from October 1 to October 10, 2024. Mpox vaccination hesitancy for themselves and children was defined as the reluctance to receive vaccines against mpox (if vaccines were available) for themselves and for children (if they had children). Vaccination readiness was assessed via the 7Cs model, which includes confidence, complacency, constraints, calculation, collective responsibility, compliance, and conspiracy. Weighted logistic regression models with the set of calibration sampling weights were used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs). The analysis explored the effects of immunisation coverage for other vaccines and vaccination readiness on hesitancy toward mpox vaccination, including mediation and joint relationships. DerSimonian-Laird random-effects meta-analyses were utilised to pool the results from six countries. FINDINGS The pooled weighted rate of mpox vaccination hesitancy among participants was 32.7% (95% CI: 25.4-40.0, I 2 = 91.5%, p < 0.0001) for themselves and 38.9% (95% CI 30.2-47.6, I 2 = 93.7%, p < 0.0001) for children. After adjusting for covariates, the absence of immunisation coverage for other vaccines independently increased the risk of mpox vaccination hesitancy for themselves and for children, with a pooled OR of 2.66 (95% CI 1.67-4.26, I 2 = 25.8%, p = 0.241) and a pooled OR of 2.16 (95% CI 1.42-3.30, I 2 = 0%, p = 0.471), respectively. The pooled mediation proportions of vaccination readiness for the relationship between immunisation coverage for other vaccines and mpox vaccination hesitancy were 15.85% (95% CI 0.64-31.06, I 2 = 60.9%, p = 0.703) and 52.53% (95% CI 20.93-84.14, I 2 = 0%, p = 0.988) for themselves and for children, respectively. The pooled weighted rate of mpox vaccination hesitancy was highest among individuals with low vaccination readiness and no history of other vaccinations, with a pooled weighted rate of 62.7% (95% CI 44.7-80.7, I 2 = 82.8%, p < 0.0001) for themselves and 76.3% (95% CI 66.9-85.7, I 2 = 40.6%, p = 0.135) for children. Compared with the reference group (high vaccination readiness and a history of other vaccinations), populations that reported low vaccination readiness and no history of other vaccinations exhibited the highest risk of mpox vaccination hesitancy for themselves (pooled OR 7.83, 95% CI 3.28-18.70, I 2 = 63.2%, p = 0.018) and for children (pooled OR 12.55, 95% CI 7.38-21.33, I 2 = 0%, p = 0.585), followed by populations that reported low vaccination readiness and a history of other vaccinations (pooled OR for themselves 2.69, 95% CI 1.70-4.26, I 2 = 66.7%, p = 0.01; pooled OR for children 4.97, 95% CI 3.66-6.74, I 2 = 19.6%, p = 0.286). However, populations that reported high vaccination readiness and no history of other vaccinations demonstrated a higher risk of mpox vaccination hesitancy for themselves (pooled OR 2.28 95% CI 1.05-4.94, I 2 = 0%, p = 0.608), but not for children. INTERPRETATION Our findings indicate a significant level of hesitancy toward mpox vaccination in the African region. Individuals who have not previously received other vaccines are at a higher risk of refusing to vaccinate against mpox for themselves and for children. However, high vaccination readiness can help mitigate this risk. The study recommends that regions in Africa with low immunisation coverage should continue to enhance vaccination education and improve vaccination readiness to reduce hesitancy and promote the mpox vaccination program. Abstract
Monkeypox virus (MPXV) is the causative agent of the monkeypox (Mpox) disease, belongs to the Orthopoxvirus genus of the Poxviridae family. Due to the recent re-emergence of Mpox in 2024, this is the second time when the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Mpox as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). This review intends to offer an in-depth analysis of Mpox, including its key characteristics, epidemiological, mutation, pathophysiology, transmission, and therapeutics. The infection of MPXV is a lethal threat to children, pregnant women, and immunocompromised individuals. However, we can prevent the infection by proper precautions including hygiene practices and minimizing exposure to infected individuals or animals. Multivalent mRNA vaccines, antibody-based immunotherapy, and combination drug therapies have all shown significant effectiveness in treating Mpox infection. In addition to addressing antivirals and drug resistance, the review also explores potential targets for vaccine and drug development, as well as the use of animal models for studying MPXV. Because of multiple mutational events, Mpox began exhibiting drug resistance. Overall, this review will contribute significantly to advancing the development of new vaccines and drug options for combating emerging Mpox.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to update baseline data on monkeypox (mpox)-related knowledge and vaccination willingness among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) diagnosed and suspected males. Methods The cross-sectional survey was conducted in Changsha, a provincial capital in China, during 5 JULY to 5 SEPTEMBER 2023. Among the three study groups, the participants in the "previously diagnosed" group were recruited from a cohort of HIV-infected patients. The "newly diagnosed" and the "suspected" groups were recruited from the outpatients and grouped according to their confirmatory test results. The the exploratory factor analysis was firstly applied to capture the latent structure of participants' response to the questionnaire about monkeypox. The component and factor scores were compared between groups using the Kruskal-Wallis H tests. The chi-square test was then used to assess the difference of mpox vaccination willingness between MSM and non-MSM in each group. Finally, multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the determinants of vaccination willingness. Results A total of 481 males were included in the final analysis. The results revealed that there was a gap in knowledge about monkeypox between the three participant groups. The vaccination willingness rate of HIV-infected participants was above 90%, while the rate in the HIV-suspected group was 72.60%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the previously diagnosed group (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 0.314, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.105-0.940) and the suspected group (aOR = 0.111, 95% CI: 0.034-0.363) had a lower level of vaccination willingness and they were referred to the newly diagnosed group. Participants in the age groups ranging 25-34 (aOR = 0.287, 95% CI: 0.086-0.959) and 35-44 (aOR = 0.136, 95% CI: 0.039-0.478) years showed a lower level of vaccination willingness, referred to the 15-24 year age group. A better knowledge about monkeypox was associated with a higher level of vaccination willingness (aOR = 1.701, 95% CI: 1.165-2.483). Additionally, a considerable percentage of heterosexual individuals in each group indicated their acceptance of monkeypox vaccines. Conclusion An overall high level of vaccination willingness was observed among HIV-infected and-suspected male individuals with disparities noted among those with different HIV infection status, knowledge levels of monkeypox, and age. Addressing the existing knowledge gap and engaging people with persistent risks-regardless of their sexual orientation-for a timely HIV diagnosis may facilitate vaccine-based mitigation measures against monkeypox.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vaccine hesitancy is a significant barrier to achieving high vaccination rates, particularly among men who have sex with men (MSM), a group at increased risk for Mpox. This study aimed to develop and validate a Mpox vaccine hesitancy scale specifically tailored for Chinese MSM, grounded in the protection motivation theory (PMT). METHODS An online survey through snowball sampling was conducted from October 2023 to March 2024, collecting 2403 valid responses across six representative regions in China. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were conducted to evaluate the scale's construct validity, while reliability was assessed using Cronbach's α coefficient. The predictive validity of the scale was analyzed using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis. RESULTS EFA ultimately retained 22 items in the Mpox vaccination scale and identified four distinct dimensions: Maladaptive Rewards (seven items), Self-efficacy (seven items), Response Efficacy (four items), and Response Costs (four items). These dimensions were confirmed by CFA, which demonstrated satisfactory model fit indices (χ²/df = 4.382, RMSEA = 0.053, SRMR = 0.048, GFI = 0.935, CFI = 0.967, NFI = 0.958, TLI = 0.963, and IFI =0.967). All indices were within acceptable ranges. The scale exhibited good internal consistency, with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.906, and strong content validity, with an S-CVI/Ave of 0.952. The scale's predictive accuracy was evaluated using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis. When used to evaluate the scale's predictive accuracy, it yielded an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.854 after adjustments, indicating good predictive ability between high and low hesitancy. CONCLUSIONS This scale provides a reliable and valid tool for assessing Mpox vaccine hesitancy among MSM and can be used to gauge Mpox vaccination intention within this group.

Abstract
BACKGROUND As of September 2023, more than 1,000 cases of monkeypox (mpox) have been reported in China. Based on the available evidence, men who have sex with men (MSM) are at high risk for mpox infection. This study aimed to analyses the self-reported infection status, knowledge, attitude and influencing factors of monkeypox among MSM in Jiaxing City, China. METHODS A web-based cross-sectional survey was conducted in September 2023 to gather data on participants' socio-demographic profiles, mpox-related knowledge, sexual behavior characteristics, and other potentially related information to mpox knowledge. Multivariate regression modeling was employed to analyze the factors influencing the level of mpox-related knowledge. RESULTS A total of 562 MSM were recruited; 4.3% self-reported being HIV-positive, 83.3% of respondents had heard of mpox, and 2.3% of them reported having suspected symptoms. 89.7% of respondents were willing to be vaccinated against mpox, but only 24.8% had a high level of knowledge about mpox. The main factors influencing knowledge of mpox were education level, household registration, homosexual anal intercourse in the past 6 months, and taking the HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). CONCLUSIONS Knowledge of mpox among MSM living in the Jiaxing area needs to be enhanced, but willingness to get vaccinated is high. Educational level, household location, sexual behavior and PrEP use have important effects on knowledge of mpox. Individuals exhibiting symptoms indicative of suspected mpox had a diminutive consultation frequency, and it is imperative to augment screening efforts for mpox symptoms within specific demographic groups to prevent the underreporting of mpox cases.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Monkeypox (mpox) was declared as a global health emergency by the WHO, with most reported cases disproportionately involving gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM). This study explored the willingness of Singaporean GBMSM to receive mpox vaccines and engage in changes to sexual behaviour, and analysed the factors influencing both decisions. METHODS An online cross-sectional study was disseminated through community groups and Grindr from September to October 2022 among GBMSM in Singapore, where we surveyed respondents' demographics, stigma associated with mpox, perceived risks of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and changes to sexual behaviours in response to mpox. Descriptive statistics and multivariable linear and logistics regression analyses, as well as thematic analysis of data, were also conducted. RESULTS 237 GBMSM community members responded to the survey, with the majority being receptive to vaccine and 67.5% indicating changes to sexual behaviour in view of rising mpox infections. Predictors of vaccine receptivity among GBMSM included self-perceived mpox risk (adjusted OR (aOR)=0.44, 95% CI 0.07, 0.82) and self-perceived STI risk (aOR=0.39, 95% CI 0.03, 0.76). Predictors for changes to sexual behaviour included self-perceived mpox stigma (aOR=1.17, 95% CI 1.08, 1.27), self-perceived mpox risk (aOR=1.22, 95% CI 1.03,1.44), age (aOR=0.96, 95% CI 0.93, 1.00) and race (aOR=0.31, 95% CI 0.10, 0.93). In the thematic analysis, respondents raised concerns about vaccine effectiveness, side effects, cost and privacy. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that the rise in mpox infections have prompted changes to GBMSM's sexual practices. In general, GBMSM are willing to receive the mpox vaccine but are concerned about the physical and social consequences of uptake. These concerns should be addressed when vaccines are released.

Abstract
Assessing the acceptance of the monkeypox vaccine is crucial for the success of vaccination programs, yet the prevalence reports remain inconclusive. The aim of this study was to determine the global prevalence of monkeypox vaccine acceptance and identify its associated factors. A meta-analysis was conducted with a comprehensive search strategy on the following databases, including Scopus, Embase, and PubMed, for articles published up to April 5, 2024. This study utilizes a single-arm meta-analysis to calculate the pooled prevalence of monkeypox vaccine acceptance. A Z-test was employed to identify factors associated with the vaccine acceptance. Our study analyzed 51 articles encompassing 98,746 participants, revealing an overall monkeypox vaccine acceptance rate of 65%. Notably, the highest acceptance rates were observed among men who have sex with men (MSMs), while healthcare workers (HCWs) showed the lowest acceptance rates. Additionally, our findings indicated an increased acceptance in individuals with educational attainment beyond a bachelor's degree, a history of COVID-19 and influenza vaccination, homosexual orientation, and HIV-positive status. Conversely, lower acceptance risk was associated with those with educational attainment below a bachelor's degree, heterosexual orientation, and bisexual orientation. In conclusion, our current study has determined the rate of monkeypox vaccine acceptance and identified its associated factors. These findings offer valuable insights as the foundation for targeted policies to manage and increase acceptance rates.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Since May 2022, mpox outbreaks have been occurring in non-mpox endemic areas, with the main population affected being men who have sex with men (MSM). Outbreak prevention and control depend not only on the effectiveness of vaccines but also on people's willingness to receive these vaccines. Currently, there is lack of synthesis on the overall rates and influence factors of MSMs' willingness to vaccinate against mpox. Therefore, we systematically reviewed studies that assessed the willingness of MSM to receive mpox vaccine. METHODS Studies reporting mpox vaccination intentions among MSM were included by searching five databases (PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, CINAHL, and SCOPUS) from inception to May 12, 2024. The quality of the included literature was assessed using Joanna Briggs Institute's critical appraisal tool. The data analysis software is Stata17. The systematic review has been registered with Prospero (registration ID: CRD42023452357). RESULTS Twenty cross-sectional studies were included in the review. Meta-analysis results showed that the pooled willingness rate of vaccinate against mpox was 77.0% (95% CI: 73-81%, I2 = 99.4%). According to subgroup analysis, study countries (P = 0.002), research sample size (P = 0.001), and whether participants were infected with HIV (P = 0.002) may be sources of heterogeneity. The results of the meta-analysis of influencing factors showed that more number of sexual partners (OR: 2.24, 95%CI: 1.86-2.69), pre-exposure prophylaxis use (OR: 6.04, 95%CI: 4.80-7.61), history of sexually transmitted infections (OR: 2.96, 95%CI: 2.33-3.76), confidence in the vaccine's effectiveness (OR: 2.79, 95%CI: 2.04-3.80) and safety (OR: 10.89, 95%CI: 5.22-22.72), fear of mpox infection (OR: 2.47, 95%CI: 2.11-2.89) and epidemics (OR: 2.87, 95%CI: 2.22-3.70), high mpox knowledge (OR: 2.35, 95%CI: 1.51-3.66), and the belief that people at high risk should be prioritized for vaccination (OR: 3.09, 95%CI: 1.40-6.84) were the facilitators of vaccine willingness. In addition, as a secondary outcome, meta-analysis results showed a pooled unwillingness rate of 16% (95% CI: 13-20%, I2 = 98.1%, 9 studies). CONCLUSION Willingness to vaccinate mpox was high among MSM, but some participants still had negative attitudes towards vaccination. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Health should develop targeted and effective strategies against those influencing factors to prevent and manage mpox outbreaks.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vaccination has been recommended as one of the most potent ways of controlling the mpox (formerly, monkeypox) outbreak, particularly among high-risk groups. Here, we evaluated the prevalence of mpox vaccine acceptance and uptake globally. METHODS We searched multiple databases for peer-reviewed studies published in English from May 2022 to 25th November 2023 that evaluated mpox vaccine acceptance and/or uptake. We fit a random-effects model meta-analysis to calculate the pooled mpox vaccine acceptance and uptake rates, with their 95% confidence intervals (CI) across population outcomes. We performed subgroup analyses among the six World Health Organization (WHO) regions (Africa [AFR], Region of the Americas [AMR], South-East Asia Region [SEAR], European Region [EUR], Eastern Mediterranean Region [EMR], and the Western Pacific Region [WPR]), as well as among select population subgroups. RESULTS Of the 2531 studies screened, 61 studies, with a cumulative sample size of 263,857 participants from 87 countries were eligible for inclusion. The overall vaccine acceptance and uptake rates were 59.7% and 30.9% globally. Acceptance and uptake rates among the LGBTQI+ community were 73.6% vs 39.8% globally, 60.9% vs. 37.1% in AMR, 80.9% vs. 50.0% in EUR, and 75.2% vs. 33.5% in WPR. Among PLHIV, vaccine acceptance and uptake rates were 66.4% vs. 35.7% globally, 64.0% vs. 33.9% in AMR, 65.1% vs. 27.0% in EUR, and 69.5% vs. 46.6% in WPR. Among healthcare workers, vaccination intention was 51.0% globally. CONCLUSIONS Tailored interventions are needed to bolster confidence in the mpox vaccine, maximize vaccine uptake, and increase vaccine access to close the gaps between acceptance and uptake especially among key populations residing in regions with low rates of acceptance and uptake.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Monkeypox virus (MPXV) is the causative agent of monkeypox's zoonotic infection and was declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO). Studies from different countries have shown insufficient knowledge among the general public on MPXV. This study aimed to assess the knowledge of the general public of Nepal on MPXV. METHODS Three hundred people were interviewed in person in October 2022, and 282 complete responses were recorded. The questionnaire related to the knowledge of MPXV was derived from a previous study conducted among the general population of Saudi Arabia. Twenty-two questions were included that assessed the knowledge and attitude of Nepalese toward monkeypox. Statistical comparison between high and low knowledge was performed using Pearson's Chi-square test. Logistic regression models were deployed to establish the relationship between participants' knowledge and socio-demographic characteristics. RESULTS Among the total respondents, 53.8% demonstrated high knowledge of monkeypox. People aged 18-25 years, unmarried people, and those living in urban areas had significantly higher levels of knowledge. Most respondents believed that MPXV is not a conspiracy or bioterrorism (63.1%) and agreed that it is likely to affect people's social and economic life as COVID-19 did (67.0%). The history of COVID-19 vaccination (aOR: 2.980; 95%CI: 1.227, 7.236) and the younger age (aOR: 2.975; 95%CI: 1.097, 8.069) were found to be significant determinants of the knowledge of the participants on monkeypox. CONCLUSION We observed that most Nepalese populations had a high knowledge of monkeypox and that social media was the most valuable source of information.

Abstract
What is already known about this topic? Approximately 50% of patients with mpox are human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected globally. Studies have shown that individuals with advanced HIV infection tend to have more severe clinical manifestations and higher mortality rates after mpox infection. What is added by this report? The study revealed that individuals living with HIV have a low level of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) towards mpox. Several factors, including age, registered residence, sexual orientation, education level, viral load, and co-occurrence of other sexually transmitted diseases, were found to influence the KAP towards mpox. What are the implications for public health practice? This study is the first to investigate the KAP of mpox among individuals living with HIV. The findings suggest that mpox health education should prioritize individuals with co-existing sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and a high viral load.

Abstract
Background The May 2022 global outbreak of monkeypox (MPX) poses a threat to the health of men who have sex with men. However, there is limited data on the willingness of MSM to receive monkeypox vaccination in Southern China. This study aimed to assess the knowledge of MPX, concerns regarding MPX, and willingness to receive monkeypox vaccination, as well as their correlates, among MSM in China. Methods We conducted a Web-based online survey of MSM in Southern China from August to September 2022. Data were collected on the socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge, worries, concerns regarding MPX and willingness to receive monkeypox vaccination. Multivariate logistic regression was employed to explore the factors associated with willingness to receive monkeypox vaccination. Results A total of 1903 participants completed the survey. Among them, approximately 69.9% reported being aware of MPX awareness, 94.1% of the participants supported the promotion of monkeypox vaccination. The majority of participants (91.4%) expressed their willingness to receive monkeypox vaccination. Participants who considered monkeypox vaccination safe [adjusted odds ratio (aOR) = 4.82, 95% CI: 1.35-17.18], agreed on the necessity of government promotion of monkeypox vaccination in China (aOR = 6.03, 95% CI: 1.07-33.93), believed in prioritizing monkeypox vaccination for MSM (aOR = 5.01, 95% CI: 1.10-22.71), and had friends or sexual partners who had already received the monkeypox or smallpox vaccination (aOR = 10.37, 95% CI: 2.11-50.99) are more likely to be vaccinated. Conversely, married individuals (aOR = 0.13, 95% CI: 0.03-0.47), those engaging in anal sex 4-6 times per week in the past 3 months (aOR = 0.26, 95% CI: 0.09-0.77) expressed hesitancy toward monkeypox vaccination. Conclusion There was a high willingness to receive monkeypox vaccination among MSM in China. The hesitancy toward the monkeypox vaccine can be effectively mitigated by addressing concerns about its safety and potential adverse reactions. Moreover, increasing acceptance of the monkeypox vaccination among MSM and their peers is crucial, as social influence significantly impacts vaccine attitudes and behaviors.

Abstract
People with HIV (PWH) are disproportionally affected by mpox and at risk of severe complications. We assessed mpox knowledge, adoption of preventive behaviors, and vaccination attitudes among PWH enrolled in a longitudinal HIV cohort in Washington, DC, the DC Cohort. We conducted uni- and multivariable analyses comparing participants by vaccination status and HIV risk group, and multinomial regression to identify factors associated with vaccine acceptance. Among 430 PWH, 378 (87.9%) were aware of mpox. Among 373 participants with vaccination status data, 101 (27.1%) were vaccinated, 129 (34.6%) planned to vaccinate, and 143 (38.3%) did not plan to vaccinate. The three vaccination groups differed significantly by age, race, education, HIV risk group, recent STI status, and level of mpox worry (all p < 0.05). A higher proportion of men who have sex with men (MSM) reported limiting their number of sexual partners compared to non-MSM (p < 0.0001). Multinomial regression models comparing vaccinated to unvaccinated PWH found age, education, mode of HIV transmission/gender, and survey period were significantly associated with vaccination status (all p < 0.05). High levels of mpox awareness were observed among this cohort of PWH with more MSM employing risk reduction behaviors and being vaccinated. Ensuring that PWH, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or age, understand the risks of mpox may improve vaccination uptake.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Immunization, as a preventive strategy against infectious diseases, has consolidated its position as a fundamental pillar in the field of public health. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the prevalence of the intention to receive the monkeypox (Mpox) vaccine. METHODS A systematic review and meta-analysis of the available evidence was performed using five databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, and ScienceDirect) with a search strategy until July 24, 2023. Data analysis was performed in R software version 4.2.3. The quality of the included cross-sectional studies was assessed using the "JBI-MAStARI". In addition, a subgroup analysis by population and continent was developed. RESULTS Twenty-nine cross-sectional articles with a total sample of 52 658 participants were included. The pooled prevalence of intention to vaccinate against Mpox was 61% (95% CI: 53-69%; 52,658 participants; 29 studies; I2 = 100%). In the subgroup analysis, the intention to be vaccinated against Mpox according to continents was 64% (95% CI: 53-74%; 13,883 participants; 17 studies; I2 = 99%) in Asian countries, 43% (95% CI: 39-47%; 1538 participants; 3 studies; I2 = 53%) in African countries, 62% (95% CI: 45-78%; 35,811 participants; 6 studies; I2 = 99%) in European countries, and 63% (95% CI: 32-89%; 1426 participants; 3 studies; I2 = 99%) in American countries. In the subgroup analysis on the intention to be vaccinated against Mpox, according to study subjects, it was 54% (95% CI: 45-62%; 10,296 participants; 11 studies; I2 = 99%) in the general population, 57% (95% CI: 33-79%; 3333 participants; 10 studies; I2 = 99%) in health care workers, and 76% (95% CI: 70-82%; 39,029 participants; 8 studies; I2 = 98%) in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) community. In addition, as a secondary outcome, a prevalence of refusal of Mpox vaccination was found to be 22% (95% CI: 16-30%; 45,577 participants; 21 studies; I2 = 99%). CONCLUSION The study highlights the importance of recognizing regional and subgroup disparities in Mpox vaccine willingness and refusal. It emphasizes the importance of employing strategies to achieve widespread vaccination coverage and safeguard public health worldwide. Abstract
Monkeypox (mpox), a viral zoonotic disease, is spreading worldwide. However, evidence that informs prevention and control strategies in the Asia Pacific Region is very limited. Our study aims to investigate the experiences of mpox patients from infection to treatment to provide scientific basis for the prevention and control. A multicenter qualitative design was used. A total of 15 mpox patients were recruited between July 6 and July 25, 2023, from six cities in China. Semistructured interviews were conducted by telephone and analyzed using the thematic analysis. The interview was divided into two sections: patients' experiences (prediagnosis experience, treatment-seeking experience, and quarantine experience) and advice. Prediagnosis experience was summarized into three themes: symptoms, possible routes of infection, and knowledge of mpox. Treatment-seeking experience was summarized into three themes: time of visit to hospital, diagnostic difficulties, and attitude toward diagnosis. Quarantine experience was summarized into three themes: body and mind reactions, reluctance to self-disclose infection status, and factors facilitating recovery. Themes identified from patients' advice were as follows: (1) Increase in testing channels and methods, (2) Development and introduction of vaccines, (3) Adjustment of quarantine program, (4) Improvement of treatment measures, and (5) Improvement of publicity and education. To effectively curb the mpox epidemic, structured measures are urgently needed to address the mpox-related stigma and discrimination. Targeted health education should be provided to MSM, focusing on the prevention, detection, and treatment services. Hospitals should enhance the training of clinicians in key departments including infectious disease and dermatology, to improve diagnostic capability and sensitivity. Furthermore, given the absence of specific antiviral medications, supervised home quarantine may be a good option.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to identify predictors of intention to be vaccinated against Monkeypox (Mpox) in a sample of Peruvian citizens. METHODS: A set of sociodemographic and psychological predictors were used, such as sex, sexual orientation, educational level, previous diagnosis of COVID-19, marital status, complete vaccination against COVID-19, employment status, living with vulnerable people, presence of chronic disease, area of residence, perceived usefulness of COVID-19 vaccines, fear of Mpox, conspiracy beliefs about Mpox, among others. A total of 472 Peruvian adults participated, selected by non-probabilistic snowball convenience sampling. A sociodemographic survey, the Mpox Fear Scale, was used. Conspiracy Beliefs about Mpox was assessed using three questions created specifically for this study. For inferential purposes, simple ordinal regressions ("crude models") were performed between each factor and the outcome. RESULTS: Regarding their intention to be vaccinated against Mpox, more than 60% expressed clear approval. Being non-heterosexual, having greater emotional fear of Mpox, and perceiving some potential for this disease to become the next pandemic were related to greater intention to vaccinate. On the other hand, being older, having low perceived usefulness of COVID-19 vaccines, and having higher conspiracy beliefs about Mpox were associated with lower intention to vaccinate. CONCLUSION: The study provides initial information for future research seeking to better analyze Mpox vaccination intention. In addition, cross-sectional data are provided that can be used to develop public health policies that target subgroups with low prevalence of intention to vaccinate against Mpox.

Abstract
This anonymous cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the relationships between HIV infection and mpox-related focus issues among Chinese men who have sex with men (MSM). This study involved in 27 MSM social organizations and was conducted from July 31 to August 4, 2023. Mpox vaccination hesitancy was defined as the proportion of participants who expressed unwillingness to receive self-funded and free vaccines. Logistic regression models were employed to estimate odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI). Of 7196 MSMs, the prevalence of mpox differed between people living with HIV (PLWH) (1.04%, 20/1920) and people living without HIV (PLWoH) (0.55%, 29/5276) (P = .037). However, after adjusting for all covariates, there was no significant association between HIV status and mpox (aOR = 1.17; 95%CI = 0.58, 2.39; P = .658). Furthermore, the crude rates of vaccination hesitation (PLWoH: 5.91%, PLWH: 4.11%; P = .004) and consultation hesitation (PLWoH: 16.22%, PLWH: 10.78%; P < .001) were both lower in the PLWH. Compared with PLWoH, PLWH had lower odds ratios of vaccination hesitation (aOR = 0.70; 95%CI = 0.53, 0.92; P = .011) and consultation hesitation (aOR = 0.74; 95%CI = 0.60, 0.90; P = .003) among MSM. The estimate of association between HIV status and consultation hesitation was even smaller among MSM who reported hepatitis C infection or uncertainty (aOR = 0.30; 95%CI = 0.15, 0.56), compared with those without hepatitis C (aOR = 0.73; 95%CI = 0.60, 0.89) (P for interaction = .037). MSM living with HIV in China demonstrated a greater willingness to accept mpox vaccination and medical consultation. In the future, it is recommended that medical institutions establish good medical environment to control the mpox epidemic, especially for PLWH.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The public's attitude towards Mpox vaccination is a critical factor in the success of immunisation programmes. Understanding the factors contributing to vaccine acceptance or hesitancy is critical for developing effective health communication strategies. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to bring together evidence from observational studies on attitudes towards Mpox vaccination, including willingness and rejection. METHODS From this review's inception until June 2023, a comprehensive search was conducted across four major electronic databases: PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and EBSCO. The inclusion criteria included studies investigating public attitudes towards Mpox vaccination, as defined by acceptance and willingness to be vaccinated versus rejection and unwillingness. RESULTS Thirty studies met the inclusion criteria among the screened literature. An analysis of 27 studies involving 81,792 participants revealed that 45,926 (56.14%) were willing to receive the Mpox vaccination. In contrast, ten studies involving 7448 participants revealed that 2156 people (28.94%) were unwilling to receive the Mpox vaccination. Females were less willing to receive the vaccine than males, with an odds ratio (OR) of 0.61 (95% CI, 0.43-0.86). Furthermore, homosexuals were found to be more willing than heterosexuals, with an OR of 1.44 (95% CI, 1.14-1.80). CONCLUSION Vaccination is emerging as a critical strategy for preventing Mpox infection and fostering herd immunity against potential outbreaks. Improving public awareness and acceptance of vaccination is critical to avoiding a situation similar to the COVID-19 pandemic. Targeted educational and outreach programmes could explain the benefits of vaccination, bridging the information gap and encouraging a proactive public health approach to emerging infectious diseases.

Abstract
Study investigating mpox infection and its association with sexual behavior among men who have sex with men (MSM) in China was lacking. This observational survey aimed to provide evidence on detail characteristics of mpox cases and sexual behavior, then analyze their relationship among MSM in China to help formulate prevention and control policies. An anonymous cross-sectional study was conducted in 27 MSM social organizations across 21 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions from July 31 to August 4, 2023. A safe sexual behavior index was constructed based on three risky sexual behaviors in the last month, including condomless anal intercourse, commercial sex and group sex. High safe sexual behavior indicated that the participant engaged in none of the three, and low safe sexual behavior indicated that they engaged in all three behaviors; otherwise, moderate safe sexual behavior was indicated. Among 7538 MSM, the prevalence of mpox was 0.73% (55/7538). The proportion of high safe sexual behavior was 79.64% (6003/7538). The crude prevalence of mpox was lower in the high safe sexual behavior group (0.35%, 21/6003), compared with the low (12.12%, 8/66) and moderate safe (1.78%, 26/1469) sexual behavior group. In the multivariable-adjusted analysis, after adjusting for all covariates, compared with low safe sexual behavior group, moderate safe sexual behavior group (aOR = 0.21; 95% CI = 0.08, 0.54) and high safe sexual behavior group (aOR = 0.04; 95% CI = 0.02, 0.12) both had lower risk of mpox. Of three sexual behaviors, MSM who reported no commercial sex had the lowest risk of mpox (aOR = 0.23; 95% CI = 0.13, 0.41), compared with those who reported commercial sex in the last month. The other two safe sexual behaviors both were associated with lower risk of mpox (no group sex vs. group sex: aOR = 0.15; 95% CI = 0.08, 0.28; no condomless anal intercourse vs. condomless anal intercourse: aOR = 0.23; 95% CI = 0.13, 0.41). The prevalence of mpox virus infection was nearly 1% among MSM in China. Strengthening mpox surveillance, emphasizing safe sexual behavior in health education are essential for the control of mpox among MSM in China.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES China may face new threats to public health due to the increased risk of imported mpox (monkeypox) cases. However, research gaps exist in the acceptance of mpox vaccination and potential associated factors in the Chinese population. STUDY DESIGN We conducted a cross-sectional study targeting community residents in Shenzhen, China, from August 5 to September 7 2022. METHODS A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect information about demographic and health characteristics, mpox-related perceptions, and attitudes towards mpox vaccination. Multivariable logistic regression models were applied to detect the factors associated with willingness to receive and recommend mpox vaccination. RESULTS A total of 2293 community residents were included in the analyses (average age: 34.03, female: 72.6%). Among the participants, 76.9% were aware of mpox, 62.1% were aware of the global mpox outbreak, but only 53.6% had a high knowledge level of mpox. Males had a higher proportion of high knowledge (56.9% vs 52.3%, P<0.05) and a lower proportion of high worry (30.2% vs 45.4%, P<0.05) than females. Approximately 69.1% of the participants were willing to vaccinate against mpox, and 69.6% were willing to recommend mpox vaccination to people around them, in which no gender difference was found. The obstacle reported most among people hesitant to receive vaccination was concerning the safety and side-effects, whereas it changed to be concerning the suitability due to individual health differences among people hesitant to recommend mpox vaccines. Factors associated with the willingness to receive and recommend mpox vaccination included having a history of influenza vaccination, having a history of COVID-19 vaccination, being aware of the global mpox outbreak, having a high knowledge level of mpox, and having a high level of mpox-related worry. CONCLUSIONS This study identified a moderate willingness to receive and recommend mpox vaccination among Chinese adults. Without gender differences, willingness to receive and recommend mpox vaccination was significantly associated with mpox-related perceptions, such as awareness, knowledge, and worry. Authoritative and up-to-date information is needed to help the general population improve public confidence in mpox vaccines in China.

Abstract
The present study evaluated the predictive capacity of fear of Monkeypox (MPX) on the intention to be vaccinated against MPX and the influence of conspiracy beliefs as a mediating variable in this relationship in 516 Peruvian sample with an average age of 27.10 years participated. Monkeypox Fear Scale, MPX Conspiracy Beliefs Scale and a single item of intention to be vaccinated against MPX were used. Statistical analyses have included estimation of descriptive statistics for all variables in the model tested and Structural Equation Modeling to predict intention to be vaccinated against monkeypox. It has been found that fear has a positive impact on conspiracy beliefs about MPX and intention to be vaccinated against MPX. Finally, conspiracy beliefs are negatively related to intention to be vaccinated. As for indirect effects, both are statistically significant. The model explains 11.4% of the variance in beliefs and 19.1% in intention to be vaccinated. It is concluded that fear of MPX played an important role, both directly and indirectly, in the intention to be vaccinated against MPX, having conspiratorial beliefs about MPX as a mediating variable. The results have important implications for public health practices aimed at combating doubts about MPX vaccination.

Abstract
Monkeypox, a zoonotic disease caused by the Monkeypox virus, has emerged as a potential threat with pandemic potential in various regions. While it is challenging to predict specific outbreaks, understanding the factors contributing to Monkeypox's pandemic potential is important. This discussion paper explores the future risks and preparedness measures concerning Monkeypox in Saudi Arabia. The study reviews the past and current knowledge on the Monkeypox outbreak, including its clinical presentation, transmission dynamics (animals-to-humans and humans-to-human), epidemiology, and diagnostic methods. Furthermore, it explores the potential risk factors for the spread of Monkeypox within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, mainly in the Saudi Arabian context, considering factors such as urbanization and travel and trade patterns. The paper emphasizes the importance of early virus detection, surveillance systems, and laboratory capacity in vaccinating and responding to Monkeypox cases. Additionally, it highlights the future risks and preparedness in Saudi Arabia and the usage of social media during the pandemic seeking support and awareness about Monkeypox, and it also highlights the need for effective communication strategies of leaders through social media channels to disseminate accurate information to the public, healthcare providers, and policymakers. The discussion concludes by calling for collaborative efforts among health authorities, researchers, and international medical partners to enhance surveillance, develop outbreak response plans, and ensure the availability of vaccines and treatment options. This research serves as a foundation for guiding future preventive measures and strengthening the overall preparedness of Saudi Arabia in facing the potential emergence of Monkeypox as a future pandemic.

Abstract
The monkeypox virus (MPOX) poses a major threat to the health of people, particularly among men who have sex with men (MSM). However, the knowledge regarding MPOX among MSM in Nepal is poorly understood. Therefore, the present study aimed to assess the knowledge of human monkeypox among Nepalese MSM. A cross-sectional face-to-face survey was conducted among purposively selected 250 participants (mean age 27.6 ± 8.9 years) in Nepal between October and December 2022. The questionnaire consisted of informed consent along with questions covering age, education, and MPOX. The findings demonstrated that the majority of MSM in Nepal had poor knowledge of MPOX. Around 87% of participants had no idea whether MPOX is contagious or not. However, the results call for immediate action to improve knowledge of MSM through health education programs and appropriate interventions to spread awareness of MPOX.

Abstract
More than 400 confirmed mpox cases have been reported in China. The mpox vaccination is crucial to mitigate mpox transmission, especially for at-risk populations. This study aimed to determine mpox vaccination hesitancy and its associated factors in Chinese men who have sex with men (MSM). This nationwide cross-sectional study was conducted among 7538 Chinese MSM in 27 MSM social organizations from 21 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions of China from 31 July to 4 August 2023. Of them, the rate of mpox vaccination hesitancy was 5.59% (421/7538). The most common reason for mpox vaccination hesitation was concerns of safety and side effects (62.71%, 264/421), followed by concerns of privacy (38.24%, 161/421), thoughts of impossible infection (37.53%, 158/421), no effectiveness in preventing reinfection (30.88%, 130/421), and no worry about infection (12.35%, 52/421). Regarding the concerning characteristics of the vaccines, concerns of vaccine safety ranked first (71.74%, 5408/7538), followed by vaccine effectiveness (14.05%, 1059/7538), vaccine costs (7.35%, 554/7538), and the continuity of vaccine effectiveness (3.91%, 295/7538). The highest odds ratio of mpox vaccination hesitation was seen in MSM who were infected with mpox virus (aOR = 2.38; 95%CI = 1.08, 5.23), followed by those aged ≥60 years (aOR = 2.25; 95%CI = 1.31, 3.88), those who were unemployed (aOR = 1.66; 95%CI = 1.25, 2.19), and those who had an education level of postgraduate and above (aOR = 1.55; 95%CI = 1.01, 2.37). However, MSM who had a higher level of mpox-related knowledge (moderate: aOR = 0.53; 95%CI = 0.36, 0.77; high: aOR = 0.30; 95%CI = 0.23, 0.40) had a lower odds ratio of mpox vaccination hesitation. MSM in China had low hesitancy toward mpox vaccination. The safety and effectiveness of the vaccine and privacy were important aspects of hesitancy. Health education on mpox-related knowledge should be encouraged to promote future vaccination plans.

Abstract
(1) Background: Here, we investigate the incidence of mpox and factors associated with vaccine uptake in mainly well-treated men who have sex with men and are living with HIV (MSMWH). (2) Methods: This study included 727 MSMWH from the Copenhagen co-morbidity in HIV infection (COCOMO) study from 1 May to 31 October 2022. Mpox infection and vaccination status were obtained from the Danish Microbiology Database and The Danish Vaccination Register. Vaccination willingness was assessed through an online survey. (3) Results: At a median follow-up of 180 days, 13 (1.8%) participants had laboratory-confirmed mpox infections. Furthermore, 238 (32.7%) had received the mpox vaccine. A sexually transmitted disease (STD) in the preceding two years was associated with a higher risk of mpox infection (hazard ratio 7.1; 95% confidence interval (CI) [1.9-26.9]) and with higher odds of vaccination (adjusted odds ratio 3.1; 95% CI [2.2-4.6]). 401 (55.2%) participants responded to the survey. 228 (57.0%) reported very high vaccination willingness. The self-perceived risk of infection was associated with vaccine uptake. (4) Conclusions: The incidence of mpox was low. A prior STD was associated with both a higher risk of mpox infection and higher odds of vaccination. Despite high-risk sexual behavior and high vaccination willingness, a sizable fraction of participants had not been vaccinated.

Abstract
This survey aimed to assess the prevalence of intention to receive smallpox vaccine against mpox and its relationship with sexual orientation in Japan. A cross-sectional online survey was conducted in September-October 2022, with 12,900 assigned males and 13,413 assigned females participating. Modified Poisson regression analyses were performed to determine the relationship between vaccine willingness and sexual orientation, adjusting for socioeconomics, trust in government, COVID-19 vaccination status, and frequency of brothel visits. Vaccine willingness was higher in homosexual respondents than heterosexual counterparts, with proportions of 23.1 % among assigned males and 13.4 % among assigned females. Homosexual orientation was significantly associated with vaccine willingness, with prevalence ratios of 1.37 (95 % CI: 1.23-1.54) among assigned males and 1.34 (95 % CI: 1.13-1.59) among assigned females. These findings highlight the need for targeted vaccine promotion campaigns and ongoing monitoring of attitudes towards mpox and vaccine compliance in high-risk groups.

Abstract
Background and Aims Monkeypox (Mpox) has become a concern worldwide after spreading into nonendemic countries. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared this a public health emergency of international concern and recommended to get vaccinated first who are at the highest risk. Risk perception and subjective norms can influence the decision of vaccine uptake. Therefore, we intended to perform a cross-sectional study on the male population in our country to assess their risk perception and subjective norms on Mpox. Methods We measured participants' risk perception and subjective norms using Google form. Demographic profile of participants was obtained using a structured questionnaire. We performed a χ 2 test to compare the levels of risk perception and subjective norm perception and multiple logistic regression analysis to determine the association between the study parameters and the sociodemographic profile of the participants. Results Among the participants, 93 (23.72%), 288 (73.47%), and 11 (2.81%) had high, medium, and low-risk perceptions, respectively. For subjective norms, we observed 288 (58.16%) participants had a medium, 117 (29.85%) had high, and 47 (11.99%) had low levels of subjective norms, respectively. Most participants possessed medium risk perception (73.47%) and subjective norms (58.16%). Moreover, we observed that moderate risk perception was prevalent in people with body mass index (BMI) level between 18.5 and 25 (73.3%), married (63.5%), low economic background (94.1%), living with a family (77.1%), smokers (68.4%), heterosexuals (99%), people with no/little impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on life (91%). Proportions of people with moderate subjective norms BMI level of 18.5-25 (73.2%), married (60.5%), low economic status (93.9%), rural (58.8%), living with family (77.2%), nonsmokers (71.1%), and people with no/little impact of Covid-19 in their lives (91.2%). Conclusion The majority of participants perceived medium risk perception and subjective norms related to Mpox. Furthermore, we observed a significant association between the study parameters and the sociodemographic characteristics of our study participants. We recommend that further longitudinal studies to yield more accurate results.

Abstract
Vaccination against mpox can control the outbreak by targeting high-risk groups such as the LGBTIQ+ community. The aim of the study was to evaluate the perceptions and intentions to get vaccinated against mpox among the LGBTIQ+ community in Peru. We conducted a cross-sectional study from 1 November 2022 to 17 January 2023 in Peru. We included individuals over 18 years old, belonging to the LGBTIQ+ community, and residing in the departments of Lima and Callao. To evaluate the factors associated with the intention to be vaccinated, we used Poisson regression with robust variance to create a multivariate model. The study comprised 373 individuals who self-identified as members of the LGBTIQ+ community. The participants had a mean age of 31 years (SD ± 9), with 85.0% males and 75.3% reporting to be homosexual men. The majority (88.5%) expressed their intention to receive the vaccine against mpox. Believing that the vaccine is safe was associated with a higher intention to be vaccinated (aPR: 1.24; 95% CI: 1.02 to 1.50; p = 0.028). Our study population showed a high level of mpox vaccination intent. Educational campaigns reinforcing the concept of vaccine safety should be conducted to increase the intention and possibly the vaccination rate in the LGBTIQ+ community.

Abstract
Background This present survey sought to investigate the level of knowledge and the attitudes pertaining the monkeypox (mpox) virus infection among a sample of health care workers (HCWs) in Italy, as well as the possible role of different factors on these outcomes. Methods The cross-sectional survey was performed from July through October, 2022 at four randomly selected hospitals located in Southern Italy. Results The questionnaire was completed by 421 HCWs, for an overall 59% response rate. Less than two-thirds were able to define the disease and the correct answer of the transmission mechanisms ranged from 22.8% for contact with contaminated objects to 75.8% through close contact with body fluids. Only 4% and 12.8% indicated HCWs and elderly/frail/people with underlying immune deficiencies as risk groups. The mean overall score of the knowledge assessment on mpox was 3.4 (0-9). The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that HCWs with a lower number of years of working experience and those who had acquired information about mpox from scientific journals were more likely to have a higher level of knowledge. The average score of the perception of the severity of the disease was 6.3. A similar score with a value of 6.1 has been observed for the statement that mpox is a serious problem for the population. Regarding the level of concern about contracting mpox, the mean score was 5.1. Only 10.5% reported that they feel that this disease can be prevented, with an overall mean score of 6.5. Almost all HCWs reported that they are still living as usual, with no modification of their behavior for fear of contracting the mpox. The results of the multivariate logistic regression model showed that women, HCWs with a higher level of knowledge about mpox, and those who needed additional information about mpox were more likely to have a higher level of perception of the severity of the disease. Conclusion This survey has demonstrated that HCWs had an unsatisfactory level of knowledge toward mpox and only nearly half showed positive attitudes. Strategic health training programs should be made so that knowledge can be acquired.
